Good morning, girlies. It's The Toast.

00:00:08

It's Jackson Claude, and we're your hosts.

00:00:13

It's your favorite show, the fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, it's The Toast.

00:00:22

They sound amazing.

00:00:24

Welcome back to The Toast, and happy Friday. That's right. Cause for celebration, and I've decided to celebrate by having a guest on the show. You know her, you love her. Mom to many, mother to three. It's Jacky O.

00:00:38

Oh, that's so sweet. That's a cute Instagram bio for me.

00:00:42

When we had our six-year toast anniversary party, we gave a speech, and then we were thinking everyone, our partners and our families. Then we thanked each other. I remember I had thought of the line before. I said, I forget exactly what I said. I have it on camera somewhere. I said, at the time, it was mom of two. Mom of Two. Mom of... Oh, Two, yeah. Mom of Two, Mother to All or something. It was really insightful.

00:01:04

Wait, I love it. That's such a great Instagram bio for me. Maybe I've graduated from being like Gen Z's big sister.

00:01:09

To being like the Gen Z's mother. The father figure we all need.

00:01:13

For sure. I love that. I think I have morphed. I will. That's a really cute bio. What did you say again?

00:01:21

Mom of three, mother to all. Okay. Mother to many, something like that.

00:01:25

Let me know what you guys think because of course, you're going to be able to fine tune it better than I did myself. By the way, the The next time I'm posting a photo on Instagram, I'm posting it to my story first and saying- Help me with this caption. Help me with this caption because it's just a slide all day.

00:01:37

I don't know if I ever told everyone where I landed on my personal Instagram bio journey because I was torturing everyone for a week.

00:01:44

Yeah, I thought strong opinions loosely held. No.

00:01:46

And then I changed it. And where I landed was something I was really proud of, which was quoting my favorite artist, Chapel Roon, your favorite podcaster's favorite podcaster. Okay. I'm your favorite artist's favorite artist. And I'm literally your favorite podcaster's favorite podcast.

00:02:01

Oh, okay. I didn't realize that was Chapel. Definitely knocks it a few points.

00:02:04

You have to hate the player, but not the game.

00:02:09

I feel as though your bio should be like Queen Corgi.

00:02:14

No.

00:02:15

Now and forever.

00:02:16

I did see Pug Casa's performance.

00:02:19

What did he sing this time?

00:02:20

From Spice Girls.

00:02:21

Oh, okay. What did he sing?

00:02:23

I actually don't remember what song it was, but it was the most amazing rendition. Philip Phillips is insanely talented.

00:02:28

You feel like you would have said that you didn't know that it was Philip Phillips. When you still thought it was just anonymous Pug Casa.

00:02:33

Yeah, well, the thing is- Anonymous Pug-Casso. With ordinary, it was bothering me how good his cover was. Talent reigns supreme. That's always been a philosophy, a core tenet here of the toast. Like the cream rises.

00:02:42

It's true. The cream rises and does. It does. Happy for Pug Casa, that you finally turned a corner.

00:02:48

I'm so excited for today.

00:02:49

Whoever Pug Casa is, we have to have them on the toast when all of this is getting done.

00:02:52

It's obviously Philip Phillips. It's not even a question.

00:02:54

We got to have Philip Phillips on the toast.

00:02:56

Today's episode is so great because we have so many stories. The train is Alley, we throw away the season on traders again.

00:03:02

Do we have to wait till the end to recap Trader's? Yes. Because it's the number one thing in my mind. Did you watch the reunion?

00:03:09

I did, and I want to go out on a limb and say, Trader's is not a show that needs a reunion. I thought that it was. I did not watch the whole thing. They were bringing out tears of people. I didn't wait for the final tear. It was so unserious after the show was made. The show, what I like about it, it's very dramatic. It's theatrical. We're burning coffins. It takes you a minute when it's over to be like, This is just a game. It's so serious. It's so serious.

00:03:32

It's weird to know how to react. Do we love Rob? Do we hate Rob?

00:03:36

But I'm saying regardless of wherever you landed, they just make it so serious. I think that they lock people. It's very much like a psychological experiment. You are cut off from the world. And then you go to the reunion, which was so unserious. It was such an anticlimactic come down. I don't know. I wish they released the reunion maybe next week. I did not like watching the reunion after the finale. It felt like, okay, so that was all like, faking a game, and it was so Why did I get invested?

00:04:00

It was just so late. I turned it off in the middle. It was 11: 15. I didn't even know if you were watching it, and I was like, I have to- Oh, 11: 15.

00:04:07

No, I didn't make it that far.

00:04:08

I have to prioritize my mental health.

00:04:11

I wanted to see Mora talk to... Sorry. We'll save it for the end.

00:04:14

But Also, it's crazy that they dropped the reunion right after the episode for Love Island. They had the reunion two months after the episode. Have you ever heard of a week, Peacock? Have you ever heard of just one week?

00:04:25

Not only that. If you had waited literally one more week, Johnny and Tara, two very important characters, could have joined not from Milan. It was so janky.

00:04:34

I actually thought it was not- The way they were introducing people like Colton sitting on a big couch by himself, it was so weird, the layout. I feel like everyone does reunions now, and no one really knows how to do them except for Andy and housewives. And this got that treatment. I was like, okay, good. Like a normal reunion. And honestly, I know I knock Andy a lot. I have a lot of shit to talk about him, but nobody does a reunion like him. And I don't know what talent that is, but it just is so smooth, and the questions are answered, and we get to the need to know information.

00:05:07

I mean, he's done it so many times. He has that over other people.

00:05:10

I don't know why no one else can do it.

00:05:12

I know.

00:05:13

No one else can do it. It's like something that will die with him.

00:05:16

You have to be willing to start stuff, but also totally affable and have people open up to you. You have to have balls to say some of these questions.

00:05:26

And you have to have seniority because you can't have balls without senior.

00:05:30

It's like, who are you to ask me this?

00:05:31

Relevant. Right.

00:05:33

Yeah. No, it's an art, and he's mastered it completely.

00:05:36

I don't know if we've seen a reunion. I can't even think about it. Like, Ariana did Love Island. And it just does- They keep bringing new people to new secret lives. Oh, and he helped her with that. Remember?

00:05:45

He had to come in. Yeah. They also keep trying new people for the Secret Lives of Morgan Wives. It's hard.

00:05:51

But I can't judge Stacey on how she hosts a reunion because that was not a reunion. That was a Duncan's Refresher commercial.

00:05:56

It was terrible. That was not a reunion. Agreed 100%.

00:05:59

The It's the heart of the reunion. It's going to be lost.

00:06:02

I think people thought nick Vial was too biased, which it's very hard not to be.

00:06:07

I didn't watch, can't say.

00:06:08

Me neither. We will do a full as Tro away recap at the end. Is that going to be our final story?

00:06:14

Of course. I'm literally going to be sitting on my hands the whole time.

00:06:17

I know. We've got no business. We've got queenie and weanie. It's like a big, chunky day.

00:06:24

Queen and ween.

00:06:25

Queen and ween. I'm so excited for my queen. I'm going to introduce you to, for the first time ever, I'm breaking boundaries. My queenie is historic. My queenie is not a person, place, or a thing. My queenie is a concept.

00:06:36

Okay. Air rights?

00:06:38

No, similar. Like, very similar in its conceptualness. Okay. And it's a concept you need to know about.

00:06:46

Okay. Like air rights.

00:06:48

Much like air rights.

00:06:49

Okay. I look forward to learning something life-changing like air rights for all the buildings I'm buying and developing.

00:06:55

And unfortunately, my weaning is someone in this room. Look around. I feel like Alan Cummings.

00:07:04

I feel like it could only be me because what are you going to, slam these?

00:07:07

You'll see, everybody. Just stay tuned to the end of the episode for more.

00:07:12

Injury. Murder.

00:07:13

He's so crazy. And then that last outfit?

00:07:16

Yeah, that's what this win calls for.

00:07:18

No, but first of all, I lived for it. He looked like a background actor in Jawbreaker. Insane. So not in theme with the rest of his outfits.

00:07:27

Why didn't he host the reunion?

00:07:28

Well, I actually appreciate that he did it. He obviously can't.

00:07:32

He's obviously not good at it. I don't want him to, but the show has a host. The host is good.

00:07:36

I love that he didn't. I can't explain it. Don't.

00:07:39

And he would make it all about him. No offense to him.

00:07:42

He's a theatrical person. Yeah, it's not about Allan.

00:07:44

Murder.

00:07:48

So, yeah, anything else you want to chit chat about?

00:07:50

No. What was yesterday? We maged hard.

00:07:53

We played mage hard yesterday.

00:07:54

We maged till the club closed down.

00:07:56

We literally till the break of so on.

00:08:00

It was a good day for mage.

00:08:02

Everybody won. It was good.

00:08:03

Yeah, everyone won. It felt good. I had a... I played some new... I won some new hands. That's exciting. Once you win a new hand, it's yours. I can do that hand anytime, any place. It's going down.

00:08:13

And you really should diversify the types of hands you do because once you memorize the book, you become more a player. You're unstoppable. Yeah.

00:08:19

So if you are fluent in every hand, the game is yours. Correct. My gameplay yesterday- Was on point. Was on point. I felt Rob.

00:08:31

Let's just start the show so we can get to what we need to get to.

00:08:35

Nothing else that you want to share?

00:08:37

I'm trying to think.

00:08:39

We maged dinner? Ms. Margot's here.

00:08:43

I had my date night.

00:08:44

You had your date night.

00:08:45

Let me tell you how bad I wanted to cancel.

00:08:46

Wait, but how was it? Did you like the restaurant?

00:08:48

It was all great. You know what? I love a restaurant that's quick. I was so tired. We both were like, We can't cancel. We can't cancel. Staying up past bedtime to go to dinner, we were like, We can't cancel. We can't cancel. We were I'm so tired. And it was traitors. I just wanted to get in my cozy. But we were like, We are doing this fucking date night, and you're going to like it. And so we went, and they sat us early. The dinner was literally under an hour. They had the fastest service ever. The food was delicious.

00:09:15

Are you glad that you went? When you were sitting here- Tens across the board. When you were sitting there where you're like, I'm glad we did this.

00:09:20

Yes. Actually, I hadn't seen Ben all day. We had a lot to catch up with. I told him about Majang and stuff with work, and I got like... And it was good. It was like, I understand why people do day night. I feel more connected. Oh, How good. I was so tired. I was wearing the same outfit and makeup that I put on at 9: 00 AM. I felt disgusting. But you know what? Day night.

00:09:38

Okay, good. I'm glad because sometimes when you go out, it's just like, I shouldn't have done this. This was the worst of my time. I need those hours back, traders, et cetera.

00:09:46

Then everywhere here has ballet. The ballet- And there you go, has ballet. There was this couple fighting so badly, this older couple in whispers, but I was standing right next time. It was probably the best part of the night, living. She was so mean.

00:09:59

What was the Something about real estate.

00:10:01

He must have made a mistake. And she was like, And now we have to list it for a million more, or something. I know she was so fucking scary. And I'm like, I just knew she was right. And he was just withering away, like coming into himself. And I'm like, Keep going, girl. Go. I just knew. Like, I just knew. Wow. Yeah.

00:10:22

Okay. Well, happy for you guys. What I was saying, Ms. Margot's here.

00:10:26

Do you know that? We're spending the weekend with our little sis.

00:10:28

Sat. She came to my house last night. That's also I had to start Trader's Day because she came at 8: 30.

00:10:32

And a good host to put out a spread.

00:10:34

And I needed to see my little sister and catch up with her.

00:10:37

And how was our little sister?

00:10:38

She was adorable.

00:10:39

You said anything about me?

00:10:40

Not a word. Tracks. We mostly asked about her.

00:10:44

And how is she?

00:10:45

She's good, and I think she's excited to be here with her family. You think? I do. I think she's craving family, like the little girl at Mr. C. Sometimes- Time for her sister's.

00:10:54

All you need is family.

00:10:56

She loves her sisters and her family, and that's just what What she needs right now.

00:11:01

But in fact, how many I never need my family because I'm always with my family.

00:11:05

Because you desperately need them.

00:11:07

No, I don't because I'm with. But you are with. You can't crave something you have. I feel like you- Isn't that beautiful? Oh, sure. Because you can't lose something you never had. If you insist, it's beautiful. It is. Once again, not respecting my calls. I'm so used to it at this point. I saw this scathing exposé on ballerina Farm this morning on TikTok. It was so frustrating.

00:11:31

What's the tea?

00:11:33

They found her... I guess ballerina Farm started as a blog, which was very much an innermost diary of her thoughts. At a very crucial time in her life, she had just left New York. She had just left Juilliard. She got married. She had kids young. They were living in Brazil. She was just writing a lot about in the early days of motherhood, a lot of times she just feels like a cow and a counter cleaner. It's crazy how much has changed in her life being like, Look, they tore her dreams from her. She can't be a ballerina. And it's like, No, that's just called being a mom. It was not that deep.

00:12:00

It's just called life changing.

00:12:03

No, it's called growing up. You have very tough choices to make as a woman.

00:12:08

And juggling the person you were with the person you're becoming. And yeah, you have to make sacrifices. It's hard. It's the hardest job in the world.

00:12:16

Yeah. I was pleased to see the comment section was pretty much on my side. Just being like, We have to stop seeing her as this perpetual victim. She does have agency over her own life. She does. She's okay not being a ballerina because she's a grown woman now, mom of eight.

00:12:31

No, and ballerinas have to grow up.

00:12:34

Ballerinas grow up, too.

00:12:36

You know what I mean? You can't be a ballerina forever.

00:12:39

I don't know. That Misty Copeland, she is ballerining. She's crushing it.

00:12:45

She's always there. But there's only one Misty Copeland. It's so true. There's thousands of ballerinas who had to give up the dream.

00:12:51

And only one Misty Copeland.

00:12:52

I would say she's probably the second most famous ballerina right now.

00:12:57

Yeah, but not for her dancing.

00:12:59

No, she She would start dancing on Instagram if she wanted to. We would love that. She sometimes does. If she was doing twerls around the farm. She does. She can literally do whatever she wants. The world's a stage.

00:13:08

She literally has a stage on her compound.

00:13:10

And on her Instagram.

00:13:12

If we had a compound, We would obviously have multiple dwellings, right? Our main home. We would have, of course, a state-of-the-art podcast studio. I would like maybe a recording studio for music. Of course, we'd have a garden. What other dwellings would we have? She has a ballet studio.

00:13:30

Right. So there she is, living her dream.

00:13:33

What dwellings would you wish for on our compound? I feel like you'd need a crafts room where you could just do all your- Like Craig has. We would need a test kitchen, of course, for Ben.

00:13:46

Oh, yeah. We need a studio kitchen for Ben. You know people have a gift wrapping room? Oh, we need a game room.

00:13:52

Yeah, like a ribbon. Oh, we need. We need a game mansion. I need multiple rooms.

00:13:57

Yeah, we need a game house, and then one house in that one room in that house is for Maj. Because I don't want people with their other games.

00:14:04

Get out of here.

00:14:06

Smally old games. But, yeah, people have gift wrapping rooms in their house. How many gifts are you wrapping?

00:14:14

Yeah, I know. I'm not a huge gift giver. When I am, it's like, I'm not wrapping it either. Unless you're going to kids' parties. Kids' parties, I feel like you have to wrap.

00:14:23

Yeah, you do. But it's like, let's... Kids' party gifts. It's like everyone just ran out to CVS and bought someone a of crap. And it's like, I don't need it.

00:14:33

I do feel like kids' parties also, you save all the gifts.

00:14:37

And then you re-gift them. You give them to other people. When someone doesn't give me a gift for a kids' party, I don't notice it. It doesn't bother me. And I hope that I'm extended that same grace karmically if I ever arrive to a party and I didn't bring a gift.

00:14:52

I think that in my future, I will be doing giftless. Like, please don't bring gifts.

00:14:56

I went to a party recently, and on the invitation, it said, Please I don't bring gifts.

00:15:00

Just what I need more crap in my house.

00:15:02

And I was like, That is such a slay.

00:15:03

In lieu of gifts, please make a donation to the Mark Shon Winter Holocaust Education Foundation.

00:15:07

In lieu of gifts, just show up and have a good time.

00:15:09

Yeah, have a bagel.

00:15:10

We didn't need a $20 piece of junk from Target.

00:15:14

I agree. My birthday parties for me and all my children will be giftless. Gift free. And not because I'm like, you know, waste management queen. I don't want crap in my house.

00:15:23

My garage, it's just so much stuff. I do not want that. But then you need a little something special. You go to the Trove. You got a Well, you can have a Trove. I have a Trove right now.

00:15:33

A trove away vote. A Trove.

00:15:36

But yeah, give yourself grace. If you showed up to the kids' party without a gift, I don't think anyone's remembering that. I'm certainly not.

00:15:44

I do think we should dive in. We have so much to cover.

00:15:46

Oh, right. Right. We said we were going to do that. And that was 10 minutes ago. And then we were waiting for 10 more minutes. Yeah, okay. Without further a do, do, do, do, here are the fast five stories that you need to know.

They've been sponsoring our show for a while. So everyone knows the Princess Diana photo where she's wearing the Mokinack in the Biker shorts. Roback has just recreated that for the modern woman in pargy styles, in pargy colors, in pargy materials. So they're Mocknack. It's called the Bedford Mocknack. It's back in stock. Mocknacks are having a huge moment right now, and I do feel like Robacks is one of the best ones. It is a very cute embroidery. It comes in two colors, the navy and Ivory.

00:19:13

On the last time it dropped, it sold out in under a week. So if you've been waiting for it to come back or you couldn't get it last time, highly recommend heading to Roblox now to get it. They also just launched biker short sets for the first time, coming in classic colors like black and navy. Plus, they also launched a blue. It's a very pretty blue. It's called Bunker Blue. Bunker Blue, excuse me. The sets are incredibly comfortable. They're super flattering. And when you pair it with the Mocknack, you'll literally transform into a cool girl. If you just want to be cool, head to Roback. Use our code, toast, at roback. Com for a generous 20% off your first order through the end of this week. Roback is spelled R-H-O-B-A-C-K. Com. 00:20:12

Thank you, Tert. You're welcome. Our first story is some major biz news, an ongoing story as a major development.

00:20:18

I forgot about this story. I just want to say we were talking about it every day for a week.

00:20:22

As Netflix backs out of the Warner Brothers bidding and Paramount is set to win the bid. So in a stunning twist, Netflix is CEO says the major studio was always nice to have at the right price, not a must have at any price, as Paramount continues to increase their bid. It went into the hundreds of billions of dollars, and Netflix has officially bowed out, which leaves Paramount the last man standing to acquire Warner Brothers Discovery Co.

00:20:49

Hbo. It was like, so an underdog, right? I feel like when we were talking about it, the deal was already moving forward. I feel like these are the types of deals that have to be approved by the government. So they were moving forward and Paramount was like- And they sent out an email to their subscribers. Oh, yeah. I got an email from Netflix being like, Welcome, HBO. They really got ahead of themselves. Based on what I had read, the Paramount deal financially was better from the very beginning. So I wasn't sure why they didn't get it. And then there was back and forth for a week or two, and then I never heard. So I actually thought about it the other day. I'm like, Oh, I guess they just got it. We never got a summation of the whole thing. And I guess the streaming wars are very much back on. Yeah. Because now they're a conglomerate in the making, Paramount. They have MTV, CBS, VH1. Now they have HBO.

00:21:34

Viacom.

00:21:36

Viacom, yeah. So I guess we're back.

00:21:38

Hbo Discovery. Discovery. Discovery Plus. Bring back Discovery Plus.

00:21:42

Oh, you know Discovery Plus is very much alive and well. Every time we talk about the streaming wars, we're like, And then remember Discovery Plus? They literally keep leaving comments on our Instagram being like, Hey, we're still here. I'm like, Oh, okay.

00:21:52

Bring it back, you guys. We miss you.

00:21:54

Well, I guess they're now going to be folded into Paramount Plus.

00:21:56

And HBO will be folded into Paramount Plus. I feel like they need a new name to... They need just a- Fresh. A fresh name that's not tied to any one of these players.

00:22:06

I'm feeling like, I don't know when the last time I renewed my Paramount Plus. It was probably for Yellowstone.

00:22:13

Yeah.

00:22:14

And I I have a feeling I'm going to need that again because a lot of my HBO shows, seems like they might be there, or they're going to keep them separate. I have no idea. I think one- HBO Max just can't go through another app. We're on our fourth app. But I think they are about to go through another one and has to be their final destination.

00:22:30

Listen, they're struggling with their identity, and you have to give them space. It's true. To understand who they are. Right, and what they are. But now they've just been adopted by Paramount. So maybe they don't have to make these hard decisions anymore because they obviously couldn't handle it.

00:22:43

Well, congrats. I feel like this is a true underdog story.

00:22:46

It is, but it's also the richest company, the one willing to pay the big bucks. The money was green. And also at a certain point, I guess, HBO, Warner Brothers, wanted to go with Netflix. They're a little swankier than Paramount. Of course. And then they wanted to be in the Netflix family. But at a certain point, they can't not take the most money deal because for their shareholders, it's like, Well, the money is green.

00:23:10

When you're a publicly traded company, you legally have to take the best financial offer. So that's why it got so dicey. And then became hostile at one point. Yes, hostile takeover. There was hostility. So for Netflix, it would have been nice to have all these HBO shows. But Netflix is so far above all the other streamers in terms of subscribers. I think they're crawling towards 300 million users, and everybody else is barely has 100 million. So for them, yes, it would have been nice. They didn't need to pay an insane price for it, and that's what the CEO is saying, and he's right for that. Whereas Paramount, they were very much on the precipice of dropping out of the streaming wars. I don't know anybody who actively watches Paramount+.

00:23:43

Now it's game on.

00:23:44

Now it's game on.

00:23:45

I like another big... This is great for the consumer, I feel.

00:23:50

Everybody's trying to be better and hopefully have better content.

00:23:54

Lower prices. And impress me.

00:23:56

Lower prices. If Netflix had gotten HBO, they could have raised their price and literally, nobody could have done anything about it.

00:24:03

Yeah, that's true.

00:24:05

So I feel like now there's three biggies, right? Netflix, which has everything. Hulu, Disney, ABC, ESPN, they're pretty good. And Paramount and HBO now. Warner Brothers, whatever you want to call it.

00:24:16

Yeah, I feel like we're forgetting.

00:24:17

Peacock is somewhere in the world. Yeah, we are. Peacock actually is somewhere in the world. They do a pretty good job.

00:24:23

And YouTube TV.

00:24:25

That's cable. That's not a... That's old.

00:24:27

It's not cable.

00:24:28

But they don't create original content on YouTube TV. They're just streaming all the shit you can find on Netflix and everything.

00:24:33

Okay, but it's doing something.

00:24:35

I don't know where YouTube TV is. I can't think like that. I don't know.

00:24:39

I really don't know. It's not cable. It feels like cable. It's like digital cable. Yeah. I don't know. Everyone at a certain point, they all need to get together. The way that we're living right now is not sustainable. It's insane. Eventually, I think they'll all come together and have channels. Like a TV. But yeah, the bifurcation of our nation- Of the streaming, of media is actually crazy. The way we live going from app to app and getting logged out in the different households.

00:25:06

One day, our ancestors will look back and be like, I can't believe they had to do that.

00:25:10

Our descendants will really feel sorry for us the way that we lived like cavemen. It's so true. It's the way we feel about the cavemen. It's insane what we do. It's insane. I can't watch the next season of JFK, the next episode. Why? Because I'm locked out because of my household.

00:25:26

It also hasn't come out yet, or it came out at like, midday last night.

00:25:28

I'm still waiting. I'm one behind. I still have to watch them.

00:25:32

Oh, you still have one more episode of cracking up. Now you're going to have to.

00:25:35

Maybe I'll watch it next year. Okay. No, I guess I'll put down roots at Hulu, but I just hate to give them exactly what they asked for.

00:25:43

Yeah, I hate when they're like, tactics work.

00:25:45

They're like, bad behavior is rewarded. Totally. Anyways, that's the latest biz news. Congrats to all of the people involved.

00:25:54

I'm excited for us because we do then get to continue reporting on the saga of HBO. Hbo, HBO Go, HBO Now, HBO Max, Max, HBO Max. Paramount? Yeah. Question mark. I'm excited. Yeah.

00:26:08

It's great stuff. Great stuff. Are you ready for our next story? Some odd news. Pink is making news is she denies her breakup from her husband in a new video. So Pink hopped on to say, she made a video on Instagram saying, I was just alerted to the fact that I'm separated from my husband.

00:26:26

Well, there was a Us Weekly reported that she was getting separated. And then an hour later, she released this video.

00:26:30

She said, I didn't know. She said her children were also unaware about the split. She said, Would you also like to tell our children before saying that there's real news to be discussed?

00:26:39

I love when celebrities bring up the real news. I like that she tackled this rumor head-on, they're not getting separated. You feel that? Yeah. She said, This is fake news.

00:26:49

Yeah, she did say. It was a weird response, especially because she doesn't really respond.

00:26:53

She's not that type of celebrity. It's just such a trope of like, Why do you report on real news? It's like, Well, we do, and we also want to report on this. It's okay.

00:27:03

It's us weekly. They're not going to report on it.

00:27:05

You want them to go in on the Epstein bios?

00:27:07

Like, please. It's the internet, so there's unlimited capacity for articles. They could write about both things.

00:27:14

It's almost like a stereotype. It is. Woke woman celebrity being like, Why don't you report on the real news? It's like, Well, we can hold space for both.

00:27:22

Yeah, and it's us weekly. She's not getting separate.

00:27:24

I think that's caused for Celebrey.

00:27:25

That is good news. She also said, Do you want to maybe talk about the fact that I got nominated the I was eligible for the Rock and Roll motherfucking Hall of Fame? Do you want to talk about my accomplishments?

00:27:33

We did. We spoke about them yesterday.

00:27:35

I just want to say, We did. We did, and we want to.

00:27:38

And I didn't realize it was the first time you were eligible. Slay mama slay, no one's more deserving.

00:27:42

And again, they could talk about that and this rumor. But also, to us weekly, this isn't true, so why did you say it? Where did you get that from?

00:27:50

Don't post lies. This happens a lot. This happens actually not a lot, but somewhat frequently, where a thing is widely reported as confirmed, and it's just not. And I feel like, isn't that the whole point of journalism?

00:28:01

Yeah. So that's why I'm like, Well, why'd you say it? And I just need to understand, where did you hear that? Not to say that it's true, but journalistic integrity. You need to now take it back. Issue a correction. Yeah.

00:28:14

I bet there's an update at the bottom of this article. It's like, Pink is getting separated. There's this whole article about her and her man are getting separated. At the very bottom, it says, Update. As of Thursday at 6: 00 PM, Pink says she's not separated. It's like, Okay, well, thanks for the article.

00:28:26

Yeah. I They want to see if they have mentioned it.

00:28:33

It's awkward.

00:28:35

Yeah, it is. That's not cool.

00:28:37

No, it's not.

00:28:39

So, yeah, Pink and Carrie are going strong. Tj.

00:28:42

Forget about them. They're a strong couple.

00:28:44

Yeah.

00:28:45

You see Jim Carrey? No. He made an appearance at an event in Europe. I mean, Jim Carrey doesn't really make appearances. And he has a new face, a completely new face. And people are freaking out about it because they're convinced it's Avril Lavigne and Melissa. They think it's not him.

00:29:00

It's not him.

00:29:01

It actually almost looks nothing like him. It's insane. If it weren't for his really remarkable smile at every other part of him, he has long hair if you're looking for it, and he's on a red carpet. Do you see?

00:29:17

I think so. I just gave my dad it to friends, 24, in order to see this photo.

00:29:22

And you can't even see it.

00:29:24

I see one photo, but it is Jim Carrey to me. No, it's not. Hello magazine is That's not it. That's not it. Okay. That's him on the stage. Let me see. This is the night that you're talking about, the night of night.

00:29:37

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He looks great. And a video where you could see his face moving. Did he get a facelift or was he abducted by aliens? People are freaking. Conspiracy theorists are running wild with this.

00:29:48

Okay, everyone, keep it in your pants. Like, just... Like, he just went to Steve Lamean. He can't breathe. But I don't even think he had a facelift. If he doesn't look like he has a younger- He looks hella different.

00:29:58

No, he doesn't look younger. That's true.

00:30:00

He just looks different.

00:30:02

It's just insane that Jim... He looks so different.

00:30:05

I'm sorry. Jim Carrey did not get a facelift. He would never.

00:30:08

But Jim Carrey did something.

00:30:10

I don't think this is about like, cosmetics.

00:30:13

What do you think? He's like, sick?

00:30:14

It's something else.

00:30:16

Okay, well, now I'll just shut up.

00:30:18

Yeah, everyone loves to do that. I don't talk about people's faces changing. I don't.

00:30:22

No, she doesn't talk about it on camera.

00:30:24

No, I really don't. No, I'm kidding. You don't. Unless it's really changed. But I don't know. I just I don't care. Do whatever you want to your face.

00:30:33

You're being so pink right now. You're so holier now.

00:30:36

Yeah, you are. I'm not saying let's talk about the famine. I'm just saying- The famine. I'm not saying it's because there's other things. I'm just because it's actually worse than that.

00:30:46

Your personal interest level.

00:30:47

It's that I don't fucking care. It's your face. You have one, do whatever you want with it.

00:30:51

Just crazy when a man does it. I guess I actually wouldn't comment on a woman.

00:30:54

No, it's not crazy when a man does it. It's just everyone feels like they can say something when a man does it. They finally can let it out of their pants because they When a woman does it. It's true. They get all excited, we could talk about it.

00:31:03

Look at me. I'm excited.

00:31:04

You're titulated.

00:31:05

Yeah. So I guess you didn't choose that as a story. Cool.

00:31:09

No, no. New faces are rarely... Unless it's for the positive. Like Steve Laveen going on a world tour. Because he's done fantastic things.

00:31:22

He has done fantastic things.

00:31:24

Are you ready for our next story? A funny story. Rihanna's teasing new music in the studio.

00:31:29

Oh, girl, get out of here.

00:31:31

She posted a video for her in the studio.

00:31:32

You don't care about people's new faces. I don't care about stories like this because I refuse to get Bamboosled. I refuse to look stupid.

00:31:39

Speaking of new music, though, Bruce Doudou put out his new album today.

00:31:43

Oh, did he? I have to check it out.

00:31:45

It's so good.

00:31:46

Bruno Mars is incapable of releasing music. That's bad.

00:31:49

And he's just in the studio letting it rip. I don't even know if they follow typical song structure of like, Chorus first. It's just like Bruno Riffin.

00:32:00

I don't feel like he's actually in the studio. I feel like he's in the casino basement, Riffin. Yeah, from his cell. Yeah, and that's why the music is so good because he's motivated.

00:32:08

Yeah, he's singing for his solver.

00:32:09

His freedom depends on it. You know?

00:32:12

Yeah, it's really good. The beats, and That's the music I've been craving recently. It's soulful, I would say. Like soulful. Like Teddy Swims. Like, oh, I just discovered Funeral by Dennis. I'm a funeral. Me driving. So, yeah, Bruno did it again.

00:32:32

But Rihanna.

00:32:33

But Rihanna, she's teasing that she's in the studio. But she's probably singing a song for a new animated movie.

00:32:38

She's probably picking up ASAP Rocky.

00:32:40

No, she's probably doing one song for an animated movie.

00:32:43

And we have this conversation annually. I hate to repeat myself, but I'm not waiting for Riri 9. Is that what it is?

00:32:50

I'm just not. I don't think it's ever coming. And at this point, I don't think that it can because nothing that she puts out- Because of the anticipation. Could reach the hype.

00:32:57

It's true. She's almost in a terrible position But an amazing one because she's a mother of three and she loves her life.

00:33:03

She's a billionaire. And she's a billionaire. And she has love and family.

00:33:08

The things that really matter.

00:33:10

And she's laughing at everyone who likes guys for this club.

00:33:13

She probably literally rented a studio so she could take a picture and leave.

00:33:16

And make everyone sick.

00:33:16

And just bother people. Yeah, I'm not waiting. So I just want to say I'm okay.

00:33:20

Yeah.

00:33:21

And I will be okay.

00:33:22

Yeah, I will be okay as well. I'm no longer waiting. And you can listen to the hits.

00:33:28

Four, five seconds That's literally one of the best songs ever.

00:33:33

I actually feel like the most we would get from her right now is a collab. She loves to be a feature on a song. Low lift. And maybe if someone else came to her with an amazing song, she would lend her voice. But she's not going to put herself out there like that. Who would?

00:33:45

In this climate, if you don't have to.

00:33:47

To do a whole album. Everyone is so mean. So true. And they'll start talking about your face. It's just never-ending. I feel like Lady Gaga always puts... Every album is just a piece of her soul on the table. And then everyone's like, This is bad.

00:34:04

It must be so for someone like Lady Gaga, emotionally taxing. Because, yeah, she is her art. Her art is her. She is Gaga. Gaga is Stephanie. It's so ingrained in who she is. And I feel like there's always a lot of hype, and all of her albums are successes, but not in the culture-shattering type of way. And it must be devastating to constantly be going through that. And just for people to be like, I don't like it as much as dance, dance, just dance. It's like, okay.

00:34:33

I just feel like she's never emotionally recovered from art pop.

00:34:37

Oh, that's funny. I don't feel like she's ever emotionally recovered from Joanne.

00:34:40

I feel like an art pop wasn't even bad. It was just like nothing could really follow up Fée Mon.

00:34:44

Or in this way. Oh, yeah.

00:34:45

I guess Born this way followed up. But like, art pop just didn't do what she wanted it to do. I feel like that feeling has just clouded. Sort of like Taylor and Rep.

00:34:56

Yeah, but Reputation was received very well.

00:34:59

But it didn't get nominated in the way that she wanted to get nominated.

00:35:02

Well, so how are we measuring success? Because Taylor, up until that point, Reputation was her most sold album. So it didn't have the Grammy recognition. But I think culturally, it freed her from the prison her and Kanye put themselves in. I think Joanne was that for Lady Gaga, because up until that point, she was always extravagant, meat, and it's like, you don't know the real me. And then she was like, Here's the real me. Here's a song about my aunt. And nobody cared. When I tell you, nobody moved.

00:35:30

I feel like she was hardened by art pop, which was meant to be the next major pop album, and it wasn't. And then when she put out Joanne, she was in a place of, I'm making music that I love. I don't care what people think. She wasn't waiting for everyone to appreciate Joanne for what it was, but people are discussing, and so of course, they didn't.

00:35:49

Nobody appreciated Joanne for what it was.

00:35:51

It was amazing.

00:35:52

Amazing. I need to add that to my rotation of albums.

00:35:56

I love this show. Well, because it's amazing. But also because Every day I'm inspired to listen to something on my way home. Like last week, or earlier this week was Hannah Montana. And my favorite song that I forgot to share in addition to my other favorite songs is Bigger Than Us.

00:36:11

Say it. We all want to believe in love.

00:36:15

We all want to believe in something bigger than just us. So good. What a message.

00:36:27

Chilling. Like, Chills.

00:36:29

Chills. Chills. Are you ready for our next story? Our fourth story.

00:36:34

And then fifth story is Traitor's. Fifth story. Yes, I'm ready.

00:36:36

Our fourth story is that Lana Del Rey's ex-fiance is revealed as a contest in Taylor Franky Paul's upcoming season of The Bachelor. So I was wrong when I said there are no familiar faces here.

00:36:45

You weren't wrong because he's still not familiar.

00:36:47

But Lana Del Rey's ex-man is going on Taylor Franky Paul's season of the Bachelorette.

00:36:52

Which one is he?

00:36:53

Clayton.

00:36:54

You have a picture?

00:36:56

Yeah, this was his picture. I don't think he was a standout. I just remember the name Clayton when you said it. Yeah, I remember that red shirt. Because Clayton is just like such a bachelor contestant.

00:37:06

I don't think anybody... It's like your birthright. If you're born with the name Clayton, you have to go on the bachelor.

00:37:12

Yeah, and he was previously engaged to Lana.

00:37:16

Much like Cynthia Reevo, I didn't know any of this was happening. I don't follow Lana Del Rey, and I'm barely keeping up with the bachelor, so I didn't know.

00:37:24

He's a musician. He was in a band called the Johnson's.

00:37:27

I just feel like this is such a red flag. If Taylor, Frankie Paul, and I find this out, I'm literally- Oh, you don't think it gives him clout? No, I think he's obsessed with dating successful women.

00:37:36

Oh, I feel like- Not in a good way. No, I feel like it gives him clout. That's not just like, Oh, he's the third of his mind is like, Lana Del Lana Del Rey.

00:37:45

But if he had actual clout, he wouldn't be going on The Bachelor. Do you know what I mean?

00:37:48

Lana Del Rey. That's major.

00:37:50

Correct.

00:37:51

So you don't need- If she liked him, that's a feather in his cap.

00:37:56

I'm seeing this from a totally different angle. I'm like, This is weird. If I find this out, I'm literally sending him home that night.

00:38:01

No, I'm sorry.

00:38:02

He's chasing fame.

00:38:04

No, but the way you're describing him, I understand that you're describing him. It's like, Max Ehrlich. Of course, Mac Ehrlich.

00:38:12

Yeah, of course.

00:38:13

If he went on The Bachelor, I would feel exactly how you feel.

00:38:17

Thank you for making the most perfect comparison. This is Max Ehrlich going on The Bachelor.

00:38:22

But I don't see it that way. I don't see it that way. I don't know why.

00:38:28

The arc of Demitrea Lovato's career and personal life is one of the craziest in modern times. I forgot about the Engaged on the Beach, Max Echlik era.

00:38:40

Yeah.

00:38:41

I wonder how she thinks about that because she's very happily married now and super stable in her life.

00:38:47

I feel like she's so grateful that her eyes were open before it was too late. Yeah. Right? I have to imagine. I don't know anything about this situation, but the vibes were that he was like a... I mean, maybe his sister's like a toaster or something. Oh, please. I don't know why I had such a negative perception of him as a user, a scrifter. I don't know why, but that's the lasting feeling I was loved with. Those were good times.

00:39:21

I agree, for us. I don't think for Demi.

00:39:24

No, no, no. But it all is part of her story and led her to where she is now, which is a happy married woman.

00:39:31

Labato later shared in her documentary, Dancing with the Devil, that the split was the best thing for her. Okay. Leading to a journey of self-exploration and realization. Well, doesn't everyone say that?

00:39:40

Everyone says that.

00:39:40

Oh, I'm sorry. And this was like... Because I don't know if she still feels this way. Leading her to a journey of self-exploration and realizing that she felt too queer to marry a man. But she did marry a man now, and she's very happily married. So I feel like Demi Lovato was the queen of making documentaries before she finished- Her thought. Her growing up. She has four documentaries where it's like, I'm A, and then a documentary being like, I didn't know who I was in that documentary. I'm actually being now.

00:40:02

She'll be like, I was- In all aspects of her life, like sexuality, love, but personality and family.

00:40:08

Addiction. Yeah. She did a documentary talking about her recovery, and then their next documentary, she was telling us what she was doing in the previous documentary and how she wasn't recovered. And you shouldn't watch that documentary because she was not telling the truth.

00:40:21

That one is null and void.

00:40:23

That's where our celebrity documentary conversation- I have so much grace for someone on their journey, but don't feel pressure I'm going to put out a documentary summing up the experience when the experience is ongoing. Yeah. Yeah.

00:40:35

You know?

00:40:36

Agreed. But you know that watching celebrity documentaries, I need Netflix to come out with a- Category. Category. How you have, Binge watched Emmy Award-winning celebrity documentaries and put them in order of greatness. There's actually a lot of good things coming to Netflix. There are. Yes. You know the SAG Awards have been rebranded to the actor awards? I heard. And it's streaming exclusively on Netflix.

00:40:55

That's so exciting. Very dramatic.

00:40:59

So I I love a rebrand, you guys know. And the SAG Awards have evolved and transformed into the actor awards, which definitely feels like it's a glow up. It's much more high brow. And then they did that for the last couple of years, that very funny segment at the beginning of the awards, where they were like, I am an actor. So it's been this very thoughtful rebrand, which I appreciate. And this year, they're on Netflix. The actor awards are presented by who, Jackie? Sagafstra?

00:41:25

Sagafstra. This is everything we love.

00:41:28

They're live on Netflix this Sunday, and they have a red carpet for the first time ever. So the theme is totally reimagining old Hollywood glamor from the '20s and '30s. I feel like everyone's really going to be showing up. We love when people just get dressed nicely, right?

00:41:41

No. And when the theme is understandable, So true. Executionable.

00:41:46

This is such an easy theme, and I feel like we're going to be seeing a lot of soft waves, a lot of side parts, very vintage.

00:41:53

It's like the Met Gala of the West Coast. West Coast Met Gala.

00:41:56

There's a red carpet hosted by Scott Evans and Paige DeSorbo. It's going to be a really fun way to kick off the whole live event. And then lots to unpack in terms of the actual show. Host. So hard to choose a host, right? Because you want somebody who's very affable, who people in the audience, they have personal good relationships with the fellow actors. We have Kristen Bell. I feel like everybody loves Kristen Bell.

00:42:15

Inspired choice.

00:42:16

She has that iconic gossip girl voice. I just think everyone's always excited to hear her talk. She does really good voice stuff. I think people in Hollywood, on a personal level, actually really like her and her husband. I think they get along well and have good relationships with each other.

00:42:29

And audiences I love her.

00:42:30

It's true. She has a high Q score.

00:42:32

She has a very high Q score.

00:42:34

So this award show is known for its iconic moments, like cast reunions, surprise group appearances. They did the iconic Devil Rust Prada reunion. Very emotional speeches. I feel like people in the industry really respect getting an actor award. It's from your peers. And of all the award shows, I feel like... I also like that they're calling it the actor awards because the statue itself is called the actor. So other award shows are named after the actual statue.

00:42:55

And I feel like the SAGs didn't really stand the chance. No. But the actor awards presented by SAG Afstra really sums up what we're here to do.

00:43:02

I completely agree. And I think that people in the industry take it so seriously. I think it means a lot to them, more so than other awards. So I feel like they've been a misunderstood award show. Do you know what I mean? I can relate. Yeah, right. This year, they are doing a lifetime achievement to somebody who started in one of our... One of the most impactful movies of our life. It's Harrison Ford. And I know what you're going to say, you guys love Indiana Jones. No, actually. Harrison Ford inspired this show right here because he started a very small but important film called Morning Glory. And yeah, he should get a lifetime achievement award for that alone.

00:43:37

I named my son after him. So true.

00:43:40

That's really cute.

00:43:41

I love your Harrison Ford.

00:43:44

Netflix has a bingo card and a ballot if you go to tarum. Com, which is great because then it makes the viewing experience very interactive and fun. And I feel like at this stage of my life, I'm always looking for events we can all watch together. To be a part of. To be a part of. And the fact that this is on Netflix, so fun, so easy. I love the theme. I feel like I'm going to make popcorn. That's so Hollywood.

00:44:03

What are you going to put in your popcorn? You know I love a party mixed popcorn.

00:44:06

I know. When I make popcorn at home, I really keep it simple. I actually just like the microwave one. If I'm going to the theater, I'm throwing M&Ms in there. I'm going heavy on the salt. It's different.

00:44:17

When I make it at home, that's when I get crazy because I can use my healthier swaps. Oh, God. Yeah. Like my Unreels and my- Oh, those are actually really good. And these Cheddar Bunny.

00:44:25

Actors are voting on actors. There's Fashion with Intention, and we have Kristen Bell hosting. So This is not a drill. It's really the most fun award show of the season, and it's something new. I feel like we're always begging the streamers and Hollywood to give us new, and this is new, and we need to support it. So it's streaming live only on Netflix. I also love when we were talking about the streaming where it's like, Netflix is crushing live. They do a lot of sports and comedy and now award shows, which I love. So the actor awards are presented by Segastra, and they're hosted by Kristen Bell, live only on Netflix this Sunday, March first at 8: 00 PM Eastern Time. So get seated. Maybe you should get dressed up. We're always looking for an excuse to get dressed up like an old Hollywood glam. I'll do a side part. I did actually a side part, very old Hollywood glam at your wedding.

00:45:05

You did. Maybe I should recreate that hair a little bit. You should have gone to the actor award.

00:45:08

And I wore like an emerald green off the shoulder gown. I'm literally like Brigitte Bardot.

00:45:13

I'm excited to see how the stars interpret the theme.

00:45:16

Me too. And there's a lot of pressure because this is an easy theme. Sometimes when the theme is confusing, I'll give Grace. I will not be giving Grace.

00:45:22

No, no, no.

00:45:24

We're going to be seated. We're going to be judging outfits, and we are filling out our ballot like it's our civic duty. So do not miss the most fun award show of the season. The actor awards presented by Sagafstra, hosted by Kristen Bell, live only on Netflix. It's this Sunday, March first, at 8: 00 PM Eastern Time, 5: 00 PM Pacific. Justice for Everybody who gets to watch award shows on Pacific Time. Oh, yeah. They're done at nine o'clock, and you can watch something else or have dinner. That's the only time I ever wish I lived on the West Coast.

00:45:48

And those actor awards are presented to you by Sagafstra. Correct. In case you didn't- And in case you were running, it's SAGafstra because that was a paid partnership. Sagafstra. Love you.

00:45:58

Fifth and final, Trader's This is the final traitors recap.

00:46:02

Fifth and final, traitors recap. Oh, my goodness gracious. Okay, so spoilers here on Foward. Rob won the traitors in an insane way. The whole game came down to Maura. From the first roundtable of last night's episode, if she had voted with Tara and Johnny, even to get out Eric, then Tara and Johnny could have gotten out Rob.

00:46:22

I am feeling so conflicted because I was getting so mad at Maura. All she had to do was make one decent decision for the last three episodes. There were so many pivotal moments where a decision of hers could have changed the whole game. And time after time, she just kept disappointing me till the very fucking end. And you know what? Shout out to Tara and Johnny for the first time in the final episode, actually having a good idea and just trying to get her to go for Eric.

00:46:49

She couldn't even do that. No, and it's like she knew Eric was a traitor. There was no doubt in her mind that Eric was a traitor, but she didn't think Rob was one. She didn't think Tara was one. And Tara was unsure about not confirmed. But anyone would have known that Eric was a traitor. He was the only one who was behaving broadly, and he wouldn't have made it that far if he was a faithful because he just would have been a random kill. So at the first roundtable, banish the person that you know is a traitor. That seems like an easy one. And then let's deal with something else. I can understand why at the end, she couldn't pivot from trusting Rob. It's like when you're playing Majung and you're going with the hand the whole time, and it's like, at the end, you realize you might not win that hand, but it's too late to switch. You have to rethink everything that you know.

00:47:28

Of course, but there was three votes before that where she could have just made a better decision. I wanted to shake her, and I was so excited for Rob to tell her that he was a traitor because I'm like, Yeah, you deserve it. When I tell you, I felt the total opposite. It was devastating to watch.

00:47:44

It was heartbreaking.

00:47:45

They also cut the music. You could hear a pin drop. I actually felt- You saw the light go out of her eyes. I felt like in that moment, I felt like this show was a mean prank. It was just devastating. Even at the reunion, she just kept saying, I'm so dumb, I'm so dumb, I'm so dumb. You can't even fault Rob because nobody did anything wrong. You get selected as a traitor.

00:48:11

It just makes you feel like, what's the point of the show?

00:48:13

Yes, that's exactly how I felt.

00:48:15

Like, to have someone to be the best liar, I guess when the faithful is when it feels really good, but when a traitor turns on the person that they were closest with, it's like, Oh, cool. You just gave someone trust issues for the rest of their life. Congrats.

00:48:30

Yeah. And I guess it was meaner for Rob to have also banished Eric because then Maura really thought that they... Remember, they were hugging in the kitchen. It's going to be us. It's going to be us. So it was us. So she thought, For sure. I guess it was just for the money to banish Eric.

00:48:46

Yeah, and Maura was going to kick- It was savage, but I'm glad he turned on Eric because he turned on all his other traders. And like he said, Would you give $100,000 to someone you met three weeks ago? I would. I'm like, Yeah.

00:48:54

He's $100,000. And I agree. I think it was actually one of the better things he could have done for his image because this whole time we've been like, him being so loyal to this rando after kicking both Lisa and Candice to the curb. It's giving misogyny. But you know what? It's not. But it's not.

00:49:05

It's giving, We're getting down to the wire and I need these votes. Yes. No, he couldn't have turned on Eric. That vote, it became only up to more. Every single person was so critical. He's not going to turn on someone whose vote he needs. That would be bad gameplay. People need to take their emotions out of it. I don't think there was misogyny.

00:49:23

No, that's why I don't really fault Rob for any decision he made the entire season because it was always with strategy in mind. So you're mad he was a good player? Well, that's your... But he did nothing wrong. And that's where, yes, the show felt almost pointless. He did what he was supposed to do. And what? The worst thing she did was trust someone. I mean, I do feel like her time on the show was so bad for women. It was just how easy... He's cute. He's not Brad Pitt. He's just cute.

00:49:52

He's very good-looking. He's a cute guy. He's very good-looking.

00:49:55

He's not insanely tall or insanely rich. He's just He's just a guy.

00:50:00

No, I think he's...

00:50:02

He's just a guy. It's insane how far that got him because that was a huge part of it. And I do feel like... And she was so close, right? She kept saying, Why am I still here? And they kept referencing that she chooses the wrong man and she gets cheated on all the time. It's like, put those two things together. You're trusting a man and you're still here. It was right in front of her. And I was living for Tara and Johnny this last episode. It's like, where was that energy the entire season? I do feel like they played horrifically, and I really appreciate Candice. I know she was saying it at the reunion to knife Rob because everyone was like, Rob, you're so great. Rob, you're so great. Candice is like, well, also you're like some of the worst faithfuls ever.

00:50:42

You need to go to faithful school.

00:50:44

And I appreciate I did that because, yes, he did play really well, but it's easy to play well with a bunch of idiots. And that's what Candice was saying.

00:50:51

But also, he played well enough to keep the idiots around till the end and dismiss the smart people.

00:50:58

That challenge. Yeah, that's what was so crazy about Maura. She was the last person standing in the entire show. And that challenge, I feel like, was really emblematic of her time there. She got to go on the helicopter. And then because she's a pretty girl, she didn't have to jump out. And what did she do?

00:51:15

Yeah. The other ones are shivering.

00:51:17

Oh, man, I felt so bad for them.

00:51:19

Hypothermia. The challenges aren't supposed to get that real.

00:51:21

What is this, fear factor? It's really stupid.

00:51:23

It's like a Special Forces. He's jumping out of a helicopter.

00:51:26

That was wild.

00:51:28

Why? For what?

00:51:29

For What? But that did really, I think, help his case.

00:51:33

For being a faithful because he worked so hard. Right. Yeah. It was just the game was lost when at the first roundtable. If Maura had just gone with the person that she knows is a traitor, Eric. Everything else could have sorted itself out. But even then at the fire of truth or whatever, that she banished Tara first when she knew that Tara was not a traitor.

00:51:58

Why didn't they banish Eric first?

00:52:01

I don't know why. That was really weird. That's even weirder. You know that Tara is not a traitor. You said that multiple times. Yeah. So why would you banish her?

00:52:10

So I feel so conflicted because I just wanted to shake Maura.

00:52:12

I felt like she felt so conflicted. And in those moments of complete conflict, I don't know how to think. You just shit the bed. No, she's just like, I'm going to do what Rob tells me because that's a plan.

00:52:22

Yeah. So I was so mad at her, right? And then all of that just went away. I felt so bad for her at the reunion. She just I think she's so worried that... I mean, you see what people on Twitter are saying, they're just calling her dumb and stupid. I feel so bad for her. The whole Birkin thing is funny and whatever. I feel like she really regrets during the show.

00:52:42

Oh, I don't think so. I think she has really big aspirations.

00:52:46

But did you see that tweet about me when I say I'm not dumb, and then it's like a... Everyone's being so mean to her.

00:52:51

No, I think for her, she has big aspirations. All press is good press. She's broken into the American market in a huge way. She's on Every single show doing press with her fashion. She wants to be a fashion girl, and she wants to be an actress. I don't think she... I mean, yes, it probably hurts to see some of those tweets, but I think she's tunnel vision. I'm going to be going to the Oscars, and what she wants to be doing is acting and probably modeling. She served face, she serves looks. She's the most beautiful woman ever. I think the exposure for her was worth the embarrassment.

00:53:26

It was so embarrassing. I just felt so It was not fun at the end.

00:53:31

It was actually devastating. When you see her face, the light, I've never seen emotion displayed. Honestly, make her an actress- In books, when they say, In the light, drain from her face, you're like, What the fuck does that mean?

00:53:43

Watch more at the final roundtable.

00:53:45

Oh my God. I had chills throughout my body. I wanted to start crying. I know. I felt like I couldn't breathe.

00:53:50

I felt so awkward. I was like...

00:53:53

It was very... I didn't expect to... It was heartbreaking. You also have to remember, we're just watching it as a TV show, but they have been in this...

00:54:03

They've been siloed and very isolated.

00:54:05

Isolated. Maybe they get their phones at the hotel room, but they go, and everything is so intense. There's a liar amongst us, and it's like everything that you thought that you knew. You thought you were winning. The rug pulled out from under you. I think her face just conveyed completely the shock of that feeling.

00:54:22

Just awful. Yeah. Now, the reunion, I really felt like, again, I don't wish I watched it right after the finale because the The finale was so high stakes, right? We were having these intense feelings of sadness and betrayal. And then the reunion was just so stupid. Everyone was laughing. I mean, it is just a game, but the show, the way it's edited, the whole Scottish Castle and the Fire, it's so dramatic that I don't know, I just felt like I wasted all my time because the reunion was so jokey. And I don't really feel like I got anything out of the reunion because you can't really be mad at someone. It's a game.

00:54:54

Yeah, but I think there were a lot of loose ends and people saying things about other people. It It's fun just to see everyone again and see some of the people that we missed and having them back on our screens and all the drama between the traitors. Seeing Donna, when they brought out the traitors, I'm like, Why are there five people? There's three traitors. It's Eric, it's Rob. No, it's Rob, Candice, and Lisa. Then Donna being there was funny. Of course, he had to ask her about Taylor, and you know she wanted to die. I know. Her face fell. It did. She was looking to the left and the right. She gave her best answer.

00:55:26

I don't think her face fell because I think sometimes She doesn't want to say the wrong thing. I think because it was like, Can it just be about me for three seconds?

00:55:34

I felt the complete opposite. It's not that I don't want to talk about the thing. It's just like, I don't want to say the wrong thing. Why can't we... It's just annoying. No, I thought it was the opposite. I thought it was the opposite. But then Colton v. Lisa Rinna.

00:55:47

I wanted to wait around to see that, and then I did turn it off maybe 5 or 10 minutes later. I feel like Lisa took internet stuff and ran with it, but it was the first time we've ever had to hear Colton talk about that time with So I really appreciate Lisa doing that. He said words, and then he also similarly echoed those words. He was interviewed in Vanity Fair.

00:56:09

I was just reading that.

00:56:10

Which is so crazy.

00:56:12

I didn't get through it, but the author- It was word fucking salad.

00:56:17

He said he's speaking so generally. It was a bad time in his life, very similar to what he said on the reunion, no real substance.

00:56:26

The author was clearly very sympathetic towards him, even before his answers or everything like this was meant to be a redemption. I don't know. When he was in the reunion last night- Did you see him sulking afterwards?

00:56:43

After that conversation with Lisa, he was literally like a kid who had a tantrum. He was sitting on the couch, shoulder slumped. He didn't really speak anymore and his eyes diverted. He was so mad.

00:56:52

Yeah, but I felt like he did as good of a job as he could have at defending himself because he's just been totally dragged through the mud, his name, everything.

00:57:00

But he won't say it. Even in the Vanity Fair article, he's like, and he said last time, It must be confusing for people who saw me on The Bachelor in 2019, and then now to six years later seeing me here. Well, why don't you talk about what happened in between? That's not why we're confused. We know you're gay. Nobody cares. He's just being so vague.

00:57:16

Yeah, he is. And what also bothers me is like... And he said in this article that he had an agreement with Peacock that no one would bring up this stuff. And this stuff obviously made audience members the entire time, just very uncomfortable. And it's like the elephant in the room. I just can't help but think about Cierra, how she was booted from Love Island.

00:57:36

Oh, my God. I'm cracking up.

00:57:38

You know what I mean? When they elected to put him on the show. Yeah. So knowing all this stuff is in his bath.

00:57:45

I don't think that they thought people really cared that much. It's in this random scandal.

00:57:49

But that's why it's just so phony. It's like what Cierra did versus what Colton. Where Cierra said the wrong thing and felt and apologized on my immediately. At the time. And he's also just younger and then nobody. They just completely threw her under the bus for the sake of the audience. But they'll stand up and knowingly go in with Colton be like, We're not going to talk about the thing, even though we know you did the fucking thing.

00:58:09

Yeah, no. Giving him that assurance that it's not going to be brought up. Who gets That protection.

00:58:15

And then they put out that statement about bullying for him. That's weird. And I'm just like, What about Sierra? So true. That bothers me. Just be consistent. If we're not having people who have messed up- Who have scandals. Who have scandals, who have things that the audience has done. It's of like, hang on to, if you don't want any of that, then be consistent with that. That's fine. But protecting Colton and putting him on the show in the first place- Mind you, what Colton did, I'm sorry, is 10 times worse than what Sierra did. I understand he was going through a hard time, but are we giving grace or are we not giving grace? And then putting out a statement, the way the internet came for Sierra.

00:58:50

Jackie, just think about it in the context of this season of traitors. The way the internet, the Cut magazine, wrote an article of Michael Rappaport is ruining traitors. Michael Rappaport is not a criminal. He's just fucking annoying. And now he or he is being profiled in Vanity Fair as some victim. It's absurd the grace being given to him by Peacock by Vanity Fair. Who gets interviewed by Vanity Fair? Who is he? Ronan Farrow? It's insane.

00:59:15

Yeah, this is what the author wrote. Throughout our conversation, he addresses some of this in a contrite and careful manner, tripping over words and phrases in a genuine attempt not to make another misstep. That's just so- Can this girl interview me? It's a man.

00:59:30

Oh, of course. I would like to be interviewed.

00:59:33

Yeah. No, and I'm all for giving Grace, honestly. But then let's give Grace to everyone.

00:59:38

I think Cassie Randolph should be interviewed in Vanity Fair.

00:59:41

They asked her for a comment, and she- No, not in relation to this. She doesn't want to be in Vanity Fair.

00:59:45

No, of course. But I mean, leave Cassie alone when it comes to Colton. Yeah. And it's like, wait, now she can't watch a season of Traitors. How annoying for her.

00:59:51

I don't think she wants to watch Traitors.

00:59:53

Why? She's just like a girly...

00:59:55

Who could watch TV? She'll catch the next one.

00:59:57

Yeah, no, not this season. So, yeah, it's a very bizarre casting.

01:00:02

And it's crazy that he had a show coming out of Colton after all of this happened. That's a bigger to me... That's his own show. This is just being cast on a show where you're meant to be a villain.

01:00:14

No, Coming Out, Colton. It was widely criticized at the time, but it's always been just inner... And it's really just like girls standing up for Cassie. Nobody's taking it seriously until now. And I'm sorry, this is the only type of behavior that a man could do. Seriously, we're always canceling people for tweets This is somebody who actually had a restraining order put against him, who was a physical harmful person to a woman, and nobody cares.

01:00:37

Nobody cares. Yeah. Well, the people care.

01:00:43

Right.

01:00:44

But anyways, I thought Lisa Rinna, she was obviously speaking for the internet, but I thought- What did you mean when you said people were doing cocaine in your bathroom? I think he really handled her because she was obviously just trying to poke. It wasn't a serious question? No. She was just like, wanting to bring it up. Wanting to have a moment. Then he was like, You said you were going to slip my fucking throat. We were going to speak- Oh, sorry.

01:01:04

He handed it to her in that statement.

01:01:06

He ate with that. That's what I also said. Everyone keeps being so sensitive at the round tables and stuff. When Michael Rappaport said, You have a secret. Right.

01:01:15

So stupid.

01:01:16

It's like, you all are talking about killing each other. You literally put Mark Ballas alive in a coffee.

01:01:20

In a coffin and burned it.

01:01:22

But like, oh, keeping this secret.

01:01:23

Yeah, it's so true.

01:01:24

It's really, really silly. So the show is just silly, and it's too serious Serious when it's being serious and unserious when it's being unserious. And it's like, well, how are we supposed to feel about this stupid fucking joke?

01:01:35

And then when I saw them all get back together yesterday, I think I realized it actually wasn't a good cast.

01:01:41

Yeah. But what are we looking for?

01:01:44

I don't know. Because not everyone can be big personality. They need a range.

01:01:48

I think it will be good when it's unknowns. Same. Because the way that they get people out early who are gamers, like Rob C or whatever, the guy who called the conga line, I wanted to see. He It would have been amazing on the show, but we obviously can't get smart people. When they don't know each other, it will be better.

01:02:04

Smart people won't be targeted.

01:02:05

People can pretend to be stupid. I think that will be really interesting.

01:02:08

Let's dive into Queeny and Weanie, our final segment of the week, what I'm really excited about. So Queenie and Weanie, we do every Friday. It's our final segment. Before we send you off for the weekend, we like to take a look back at a glance at the weekend and give out two awards, Queenie of the Week and Weanie of the Week. You can go to a person, a place, or a thing. For example, today, mine will be a concept. Just things that brought us joy this week, things that were queenie-like, and of course, things that were Weanie-like. It's not our fault. We're just living in a world of weenies. Let's start with queenie. My Queenie of the Week is a concept that I've been hearing a lot about on TikTok, and I took the time this week to actually learn about it. And I realized it's a phrase, a concept that we've needed. You and I talk about this all the time. It's called the Kea As Salem. Have you heard of it? Mm-mm. Okay. So the Kea Asalom is where pop stars get locked up. And I feel like we're always talking about people who have had success and fell off or people who just can't get the engine started.

01:02:57

It's a lot of girls pop divas, but there's There's a men's ward.

01:03:00

Why is it called Key Asylum?

01:03:01

I don't know. K-h-i-a. I don't know why it's called the Key Asylum. It's like a Twitter meme that has taken it so far. I just want to say it is the perfect- There's a men's ward.

01:03:09

Okay, can I guess people who are in it?

01:03:11

And people who have escaped.

01:03:12

Okay. Tori Kelly is in it.

01:03:14

That's a great example of somebody who's had success, like mainstream, but then never really got it back, but not for lack of trying.

01:03:20

I think Madison Beers in it. Madison Beers in. I think Charlie XX has escaped.

01:03:24

Who else is in Escapey? There are two big escapies.

01:03:27

Is Charlie XX one of them? Yes.

01:03:29

And there's a third who's actively escaping right now.

01:03:31

Okay. Charlie XX, you're not going to think of it because she's so big.

01:03:35

You don't even remember a time when she was in the Keya asylum.

01:03:38

No, I feel like I will know. Let me go to my Spotify. She's so big. Hold on. Let me go to top. I feel like you should just...

01:03:52

Let me tell you who it is because you're never going to guess it. Hold on. Key Asylum.

01:03:58

Okay, you could tell Sabrina Carpenter.

01:04:01

She could not get arrested for seven years. She's one of the larger escapies, and her and Charlie give people hope that there is a bus out, right?

01:04:09

Yeah, but the thing is Charlie went up, down, up. Sabrina just had a very slow up, I feel. Yeah, of course.

01:04:16

But the path to the Key Asylum, everyone has their own. I think the core, one of the founding members of the Key Asylum who's desperately trying to break out is Bibi Rexa. She keeps making content now about how she's actively trying to get out of the Key Asylum.

01:04:28

You know who's in the Key Asylum and Betty Who. She's too niche. She had some drama.

01:04:35

Yeah, but she's not mainstream, and she never was mainstream.

01:04:37

No, she had that song, she was set to be the next big thing, and then she was put in the asylum.

01:04:41

No, who you're thinking of that had the next big thing and is a permanent resident of the Key Asylum is Ava Max. That's fine. Yeah. Ava Max, Normani. Dove Cameron. They think there's hope for Dove, but she's actively like, cellmates with Bibi Rexa.

01:04:57

Dove? I think Dove is so talented, and I'll always like...

01:05:00

The Key Asylum is not about lack of talent.

01:05:02

No, but I just feel like she doesn't want to do the mainstream things that it takes to be mainstream successful. She stays in the art underground world. Right.

01:05:11

Somebody who's having a moment, and I think who the conversation about the Key Asylum really She came mainstream, and she talks about how she's literally... She's not fully out yet, but she's chipping away. She's pretty much out is Zara Larson. She's having a really big comeback moment. It's mostly constricted to TikTok. That's the thing. It hasn't gone super mainstream yet.

01:05:27

Yes, that's a great example. It's a great example. That's a Charlie XX.

01:05:30

Then the Men's Ward, which people talk about it mostly in the context of pop divas.

01:05:33

Okay, but no, there's definitely a Men's Ward. You know that guy, Khalid.

01:05:37

Oh, that's a great one, Khalid. Conan gray is very much in the Keyes Island.

01:05:42

I think he's my vibe, right?

01:05:44

No, I don't think so. Actually, that's the thing. I don't know a singular Konan Gray song, but he was friends with Taylor Swift briefly. He's famous-ish. It's crazy, but I've never heard a song of his.

01:05:55

Oh, no, he's not in my likes songs. Okay.

01:05:57

Sean Mendes is in the Key Asylum right now. By choice. Jack Harlow.

01:06:02

Jack Harlow.

01:06:03

Somebody who was everywhere. And you know what reminds me that it's something I wanted to talk to you about this is because you know who's a men's prisoner of the Key Asylum, who we were just having this conversation with. It's crazy how you could be everywhere all at once. And then nowhere is Lil Nas X. So I thought the concept of the Key Asylum needed to be brought to this show because I feel like we're referencing this thing, and that's what it is.

01:06:24

Yeah. It feels like you're an industry plant who's no longer chosen. They've given up on you because they couldn't plant your root strong enough. Or you're someone that actually was talented that the industry squashed because you're not a plant. Madison Bier. No, I don't know what it is for Madison Bier. Okay. No, but some people, maybe even Betty Who, whatever. If she won't work with the record, if she's too... With the industry.

01:06:49

Then they won't help her. Someone who's in there who I thought was a good example because clearly she's successful now, but there is something holding her back, and we talk about this a lot, Tate McRay.

01:06:58

Okay. What do you think is holding her She's so TikTok-y, and that's like 80% of it, right?

01:07:05

If you're crushing it on TikTok, you will be everywhere. And something about her has not penetrated past the internet. Now, the internet is very powerful. She's a successful person. She has a lot of streams. But when it comes to actual cultural impact, when we talk about the pop girlies, she ain't there.

01:07:20

And I've told you why. Why? The music is not good enough. She needs to be making supermarket music, and it's not. If you want to be a major pop diva, your music has to be for everyone, whether we know you or not, and you're just playing everywhere.

01:07:34

And then I saw a funny clip on TikTok about how Katie Perry is in the Keya asylum, and she thought dating a Prime Minister would get her out, but she just brought him in.

01:07:43

She thought she would be part Yeah, but it's like, no, now he's there, too. That's funny. She's too big, actually. Yes.

01:07:50

So she might eclipse it only because she has this insane catalog.

01:07:53

She's just on house arrest now. Yes. She will always have been a major... The girl. It can be over for her is the thing. If she wanted it to be.

01:08:03

She says it's never really over.

01:08:04

No. Yeah, she has a different issue. Yes, agreed. But she's not being suppressed by the industry. She just has a popularity issue that she did to herself. Correct. Nobody did that except her.

01:08:18

Actually, her stylist did it to her.

01:08:20

Oh, I know. Because that started it all. No, I guess for you, but I think she just like- Bon appétit. Yeah, she turned people off.

01:08:27

Okay. Weaning of the week. Like I said, it's someone in this room who wants to guess who it is.

01:08:31

I mean, it has to be me. What are you going to...

01:08:34

Oh, you're wrong. It's you? It's me. What did you do? I can't believe it. When I told that Valentine's Day story, I decided to protect my husband. And look what that serves me. I got embarrassed on the internet. Will not be happening again. Ben forgot to get me flowers. And don't you fucking forget it.

01:08:47

Oh, wow.

01:08:48

I'm embarrassed that I tried to protect him, and he came over and told the truth.

01:08:51

I thought it was nice. I thought it was... I think that was a very human moment.

01:08:55

A very weeny moment, okay? Big W on my forehead.

01:08:58

Okay, so we're back to trashing Ben. Oh, did we?

01:09:00

Yeah.

01:09:02

Ben. He's here to my sister.

01:09:04

Love that.

01:09:05

Because I actually didn't think anyone was so weany enough to speak that. Me neither. I don't want to just give it to people when it's not deserve because that just feels like mean-spirited.

01:09:13

I agree.

01:09:14

But it's Ben.
