Good morning, girlies, it's The Toast.

00:00:08

It's Jax and Claude and we're your hosts.

00:00:13

It's your favorite show, the fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, it's The Toast.

00:00:23

I sound amazing.

00:00:25

Welcome back to The Toast and happy Thursday. Hope everybody's having a great day thus far. What's new with everyone else?

00:00:31

Happy Thursday, secrets out!

00:00:33

Secrets out. I guess $50 is an amazing price for a pedicure.

00:00:37

The toast, secrets revealed.

00:00:40

Finally.

00:00:41

Hey, Code Rhielle, how you doing?

00:00:44

Oh, I'm doing good, just eating for 2, which I usually am, but I actually have a reason this time.

00:00:50

Hi, preg Rhielle.

00:00:52

Yeah, preg Rhielle. Yesterday, in case you missed, big announcement, everyone's talking about it, the Patreon is lit up. Not only am I pregnant, we did a gender reveal on the Patreon.

00:01:01

And first trimester vlog.

00:01:02

So that we can share this with the world. First trimester vlog, gender reveal, all on the Patreon. Um, it's so different than the first time. Like, I feel like I'm so chill. Like, literally nobody's— I literally forgot to announce for like weeks. Like, I am so chill. Nobody's ever been more chill in the whole world. It just felt like I'm just so chill, you know? I just grab a slice all the time. I grabbed 3 slices on 3 separate occasions yesterday.

00:01:26

Oh wow.

00:01:28

Yeah, it just sort of happened. Let me walk you through the details.

00:01:32

Okay.

00:01:33

I had a doctor's appointment and I, I had a big scan, so I needed to eat first because I remember last time if I didn't eat laying there, and if you don't eat, the baby doesn't move. So whatever, there's a fabulous pizza place near Dr. Fox's office. I was more than happy to grab a slice. That was like, you know, maybe 12 o'clock. Later on in the day, Ben was at the studio. He said, I'm coming home, you need anything? I said, you know what? I'll take a slice of pizza, like he was offering. And then I went out for dinner with my friends from high school and we ordered a pizza for the table. Of course you grabbed a slice. From the center of the table.

00:02:08

Of the shared plate.

00:02:09

So unbeknownst to me, like I had 3 separate slices of pizza yesterday, which is genuinely insane. Um, but I'm genuinely just trying to survive out here.

00:02:20

Understood. So how are you feeling? Update us. Like, how does it feel to have this weight lifted off?

00:02:25

It just feels different. Like, I, I remember last time, like, oh my God, I could have like died of relief. I was so eager to tell people the second the first trimester ended. I'm like, let's get it up. This time I'm just like so chill. I'm not like other girls. I used to drink beer. I obviously can't now. Um, non-alch though, you know. Uh, I feel good. I feel, um, I'm happy everyone knows. I feel that I can start posting on social media again. Like, when you're literally living a double life, but you also have to share your life on social media. Like, I had nothing to post because all I do is sit around and eat.

00:02:57

Yeah, it's hard.

00:02:59

So I was like churning out content all day yesterday because like I can finally speak my truth.

00:03:03

You could be free.

00:03:04

I can be free.

00:03:05

Free to be turdy.

00:03:07

Exactly. Forgot to tell you, when I went to, um, the wedding where I met Alex Earle, they had like a bunch of security. There was like lots of lists, and the person checking me in was like, Mrs. Freebush, is that your name? And I was like, no, it's like, it totally—

00:03:21

It went over your head.

00:03:22

Completely over my head. I'm like, Ashray? And she was like, it's a joke. I was like, oh, love that.

00:03:29

Thanks.

00:03:30

Yeah, I forgot to tell you that. Um, no, I feel great. Doctor's appointment went great yesterday, which is why I was like, you know what, let's just do the damn thing.

00:03:38

Yeah.

00:03:38

And I feel great. I feel happy. I feel excited. Butterflies in my stomach and vagina.

00:03:44

Is that a saying?

00:03:46

Yeah, it's a Cardi B audio sound.

00:03:47

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:03:48

I feel nervous, I feel excited, butterflies in my stomach and vagina. And like, I knew— I don't know what she was being asked, but I feel like she had just announced her pregnancy.

00:03:54

Like, yeah, yeah. Well, we're happy that you're free to share, and we're so excited. We couldn't be more excited.

00:04:02

I actually am so excited. I said this on the Patreon, so I don't want to like repeat too much of what I said, because if you watch the vlog, like You don't need to hear it twice, but I think I'm more excited, like, to have a baby this time because last time, like, it's all so mysterious. Like, you don't know what it's like to have a baby. Now I know what it's like, and I love that shit. So it's like, I'm almost like, I'm so fucking eager. I'm like, let's go. Yeah, I want it now.

00:04:29

Yeah, that makes sense. It's like, it's exciting and you're prepared. It's like a test you're gonna ace.

00:04:33

Oh, and let me tell you, mark my last words, I'll have like crazy postpartum depression, but like I'm gonna kill it. I'm gonna kill it. Like, I'm so lit up for this. Like, let's go.

00:04:43

Yeah.

00:04:44

We'll see.

00:04:44

We'll see. TBD. Well, I'm excited we can now speak our truths, you know? There were a couple of funny comments of like tells.

00:04:55

Well, what's funny is like I always think that like I say something that gave it away and it's like the things that people pick up on, I didn't even know what you guys are talking about. You know what I mean? It's like, I'm like, Jackie, should we cut that out? And the things that people were like, I had a feeling when you did XYZ. I'm like, oh really? So me, just so I do.

00:05:11

No, some things people said like, oh, when you did this, I'm like, no, no, I did that too.

00:05:15

And actually, people were like, oh, when you did this, I'm like, I wasn't even pregnant then.

00:05:18

Like, this summer I was experiencing a Munchausen's pregnancy, spending so much time with you.

00:05:23

This summer was fucking horrible. Like, seriously, that studio, I can never go back there. There was nothing wrong with it, but like, who I was, I was in such a bad spot. I was in such a fucking bad spot. Ask Jackie. Like, a genuinely miserable person. Like, uh, first trimester diarrhea, did— that's new. Like Oh my God, I was not fucking okay. Running to the bathroom in the middle of every episode. Genuinely horrible. But I will say, like, people have been guessing that I'm pregnant since like November and—

00:05:48

Right, one day you're bound to be right, hopefully.

00:05:51

Yeah, right, right. So it's like people are always like, well, you said this on the podcast. I'm like, okay, but I wasn't pregnant then, so okay. I just talk like all the time. But of course the breakfast potatoes come to mind. Like I said, I was fighting for my goddamn life this summer.

00:06:02

The breakfast potatoes are totally a tell.

00:06:05

And you know what? Maybe at one point I would've been like, let's cut it out. The way I gave not one fuck, like people not knowing or being onto me was so not— I was just trying to make it to the end of the day.

00:06:15

Right, right.

00:06:17

So the comments were cracking me up.

00:06:19

And then of course the not harping on the fast this year.

00:06:24

And I just thought like maybe people would think I was like evolved. I literally forgot to recap it. I was like, just a regular day. Although obviously I did not fast. I want everyone to know that. But I did take it light, you know? I only had like a couple of things throughout the day. 2 bagels, a bowl of cereal.

00:06:39

You didn't wanna be gluttonous.

00:06:40

No, I didn't wanna be gluttonous and like eat in Ben's face, which is so rude.

00:06:43

Yeah.

00:06:44

Um, however, I did end up like giving myself a headache because I was like trying to be like so pious that like I didn't eat enough, you know? And then I got a headache. So I basically, I did fast essentially.

00:06:53

Yeah.

00:06:54

For like a pregnant person. I was like in the bathroom chugging Pellegrino. I felt so bad doing it in front of Ben, but like I was so thirsty.

00:06:59

Oh my God. It's fine.

00:07:01

Now I'm running on 3 years in a row not having to fast. And like, that's why you have children.

00:07:06

Why didn't you fast last year?

00:07:08

I was breastfeeding.

00:07:09

Oh, okay.

00:07:11

And like the Rebbetzin said, you know, you should try, and I did. And the year before? I was pregnant.

00:07:16

Right.

00:07:18

One day. Slay mama. Slay mama. I gotta keep timing up these pregnancies.

00:07:23

Yeah. With Yom Kippur.

00:07:26

With the, uh, Jewish New Year.

00:07:28

Mm-hmm.

00:07:29

Uh, feels good. Yeah, I'm pregnant. Like, literally not— oh, and I did a gender reveal on the podcast, but I'll say here happily, um, we're having a boy, which is so fucking crazy. That's our 2nd and 5th boy collectively, you and I, and within our family it's our 7th. So we're holding out.

00:07:44

Crazy.

00:07:45

One girl, and everybody thought I was gonna be having a girl.

00:07:49

Not me.

00:07:49

One, because I'm such—

00:07:50

Not me.

00:07:50

Not me either. Everybody, and nobody had any like good reasons other than the fact that we feel like we're owed a girl, you know, like It's about time. Everybody's like, it's obviously a girl. Why?

00:07:59

Like, um, well, no, I was monitoring the turd closely all summer.

00:08:04

Well, I was also deeply, deeply unwell.

00:08:07

But your symptoms were consistent with a boy pregnancy.

00:08:12

Yeah. I don't remember genuinely having such— and I remember when you were pregnant, you would say this, that like, you really forget how hard it is. And it's like, I remember the first time I was like, I will not forget this feeling. I will not forget how miserable I was.

00:08:27

This—

00:08:27

I was— it felt like the first time, the first trimester, like I was like, was it like this last time? I have no recollection of what happened to me in my first pregnancy during the first trimester, but I could tell you I, I feel that this one was 50 times worse.

00:08:40

And then everything is made harder by already having a child.

00:08:44

Oh, I don't even want to talk about like being a deadbeat mom.

00:08:47

No, but like you just can't lay around all day and you have responsibilities and you have to get up and So that makes it harder.

00:08:56

Atrocious.

00:08:57

Mm-hmm.

00:08:58

But I also feel that things are going by way faster because I have, you know, a preexisting family. Like I can't lay around all day and like, while it's amazing to lay around all day when you're tired and pregnant, it is so boring.

00:09:11

It also sometimes does not make you feel better. It makes you feel worse.

00:09:14

No, it just moves at a snail's pace. Your life is so boring because like, you know, your new mama life hasn't started, but you can't participate in your old swirly life. So you're just sort of like laying around watching TV waiting. I feel that this pregnancy has already flown by much faster than the previous one, and I think it's because it's my second. Like, I, I have life to live.

00:09:31

There's things going on.

00:09:32

Correct. I can't just sit around. Trust me, it's all I want to do. And let's— I just want to be completely honest, I sit around a lot. Like, I—

00:09:40

But even the days this summer where we like tried to get after it and like we went outside and like—

00:09:44

Horrible.

00:09:44

You know, you felt good those days.

00:09:46

Like, when we went to the beach. It's true, it's true. You do feel better when you go out, but like, ugh.

00:09:50

It's just hard to do it.

00:09:52

And I have like such a flexible job. I'm so grateful. Um, and I have so much help and support. Like, oh my God, it is a nightmare. Like that first trimester, I understand God in his infinite wisdom. Like he has a reason for everything. It seems so unnecessarily cruel. Like it really does.

00:10:10

Yeah. And then there are some jobs that I'm like, how can you do this pregnant or in your first trimester, second or third? Like, Honestly, being a traffic cop.

00:10:18

Mm, I never thought about the pregnant traffic cops, the first trimester mamas who are traffic cops.

00:10:23

Like standing all day.

00:10:26

No, it's sick.

00:10:27

Like the fumes.

00:10:29

The fumes. People are so rude to you, so dismissive, honking at you. That can't be good for the baby.

00:10:34

No.

00:10:35

Totally.

00:10:36

They need 10 months maternity leave.

00:10:38

So like when I think about how much I complained and how much like of a position of privilege I'm in, I really shouldn't complain, but I will. And you guys know I have this like philosophy about like posting on social media and talking publicly about like parenthood and how like I really try to keep it positive. Like I don't really believe in being like a phobic mother on the internet. People do that. Good for you. I don't like to do that. Uh, when it comes to pregnancy, I have complete opposite energy. I'm so negative. I'm so toxic. I complain all the time. Of course we lead with gratitude, of course. Um, but so just like, don't, don't expect that same sort of like positive turny.

00:11:10

Okay.

00:11:11

To come through. Just wanna like level set with everyone. Sucks.

00:11:12

Well, Well, also, I haven't been with you since you've entered your second trimester. Like, are you feeling better? How's your day-to-day? I'm gonna be with you soon, so I'll know, but like—

00:11:25

So much better. So much better. And like, I don't wanna complain because it's nothing compared to the first trimester, but like, if I wanted to complain, I could, about how motherfucking tired I am. I sleep about 10 to 11 hours at night, and I still take a 2-hour nap during the day. And it's not enough. Like, I don't know when sleep, like what amount of sleep will make me feel rested. I also, in both my pregnancies, have a major aversion to coffee, which is so inconvenient. Um, on days like over the summer when I was feeling really, really sick, Ben and I had like an all-day photo shoot. Ugh, I was so miserable. And I had a coffee that day and like, it makes such a difference. I can't get it down. Like, it's like you'll have to—

00:12:07

Even sick?

00:12:07

I need like an IV. I need it intravenously.

00:12:10

You need a matcha.

00:12:11

I haven't cut out soda like at all. In my first pregnancy, I was so good about it. I had like, except towards the end, I was like, all right, fuck it. But I was like, you know, 2 or 3 a week. Oh bitch, I'm having 2 or 3 a day. It's my only source of caffeine. In my first trimester, it was the only thing that brought me even an ounce of relief. Like the burps, heavenly. Like I wanna write a letter to the president of Pepsi-Cola. Thank you. It was the only thing that helped. And I'm a lot more laid back this time, you know?

00:12:38

Good.

00:12:40

Like, no, no. In terms of like rules and regulations. Restrictions.

00:12:43

Yeah.

00:12:44

Yeah. Yeah. Like I'm taking my, I was also taking baths the first trimester, but I had this like thermometer. Same girl. Baby, there is no thermometer. Like I'm just feeling the vibes. Like based on how I feel. Yeah.

00:12:55

Yeah. I used to have a thermometer in my first pregnancy when I was pregnant.

00:12:58

Like that's something you do when you have nothing else going on.

00:13:01

Yeah, no, but you can really like think about everything all the time and that's all you think about.

00:13:05

Yeah, and so this time it's like I keep getting pits. I'm like, wait, was I not supposed to do that? I also like forget the rules. I feel like a lot of the food restrictions don't apply to me. I don't really eat sushi and I don't eat lidocaine, Listerine, what's it called? Uh, Listeria.

00:13:20

Listeria for like turkey. Uh, turkey, uh, like I could live without it and I only eat turkey—

00:13:25

I only eat turkey when I'm being really healthy. And I'm not being really healthy. And I, I don't really wanna talk about that part, but I obviously like didn't lose the baby weight before getting my next baby, which is obviously not the way like I envisioned my life going. But I guess the program I'm running like wasn't too strict, you know? Like I had all these big plans and then when it came time, I was just like, I guess we're doing a plus-size pregnancy. Like, I guess we're doing a plus-size pregnancy. It is what it is. And it was what it was like, whatever. I will figure it out next time.

00:13:53

In the end. They're all plus-size pregnancies.

00:13:56

No, and in the end, like, you're fat. Like, you know, it does feel good to like be able to like know, like have people know like, yes, I'm fat, but like I'm also pregnant. And so what do you have to say about that? What can you say? Having a reason for being overweight is such, uh, a blessing, honestly. It really is.

00:14:15

And are you bumping?

00:14:17

Um, I am bumping. You know, we're hanging low. Belly's low, you know?

00:14:22

Okay.

00:14:24

Um, I saw Dr. Fox yesterday. Of course, like, I sit down in his office. The funny thing is that, like, when I go to his appointments, I don't actually really need to see him because I get my scan and then, like, the doctor in the whatever practice, like, reads me my results. But then they're like, you can go up and see Dr. Fox. I'm like, oh, okay, great. Like, we don't literally do anything in there except talk. And I was like, so what do you think about Lindsay Clancy? He had some actually really interesting, um, 'Cause he's kind of like a perinatal, like a leading, like a thought leader in the perinatal space.

00:14:51

Yes.

00:14:51

Perinatal care. And he had a lot of thoughts. He was explaining to me like a lot about postpartum psychosis and how he's seen it like once or twice. And it is frightening. Like it's so, it's very, very real. He says a lot of people with postpartum psychosis are actually nonviolent. There's a very, very small amount of people who, it's like psychotic people, he said, like, you know, when you see like a crazy person or whatever, they mostly like talk to themselves. They're a danger to really, they're not violent. They're not a danger to you physically. A small percentage of people in psychosis are actually dangerous and violent. And actually a lot of the circumstances, like, so he was basically corroborating that like a lot of what he heard about her in her life, like she definitely had postpartum psychosis. I guess there are people who like doubt that she did. And I said, can you have postpartum psychosis 8 months postpartum? And he was like, absolutely. Okay, so he corroborated the sort of like medical side, medical aspect. Like, that's very— yeah, but he said, he said, I can't adjudicate on whether or not like she should go to jail or whatever because it's like I'm not a jury member.

00:15:42

But he was just sort of giving the doctor's perspective.

00:15:44

I appreciate that.

00:15:46

Me too.

00:15:47

Still lock her up, but—

00:15:48

Lock her up! Um, so yeah, I am pregnant. Oh, and in the vlog I talk a lot, and we're gonna do a Patreon probably next week, like a little Q&A.

00:15:58

So, um, talking about like TTC and, you know, like we've had a lot of Qs to A, but like we really couldn't A anything until like we shared this news, our news. We are pregnant.

00:16:09

Try being an influencer for Rosé, you know, like doing a podcast every single day Trying to share, you know? Oh my God. So difficult. Yeah. Like so difficult.

00:16:20

The first trimester is really in general, like hard and isolating, even if you're just like a layperson. But like when your job is to share and like the biggest thing you can, it makes it really hard. Also, I feel like, like we're a couple, like the podcast is pregnant.

00:16:34

Yeah, absolutely. When you were pregnant, it was, I remember so funny cuz I've been like very chill about this whole thing, but I remember the first time you were pregnant. You might, you might've been like 10, 11 weeks. Oh my God. It was oozing outta me. I had one drink and I told like literally everyone at Brian's house. I couldn't, like, I literally was so excited. It's just crazy how differently you experience each pregnancy. And this time, like, I remember the first time, what I really struggled with in the first trimester was like being a gossip girl and like having this huge thing that I couldn't share. Like it was unfathomable to me that I could be going through this huge life change and I can't tell anyone. Like, what's the point? You know? This time I didn't feel this way, that way. This time I just felt like, how am I supposed to be a functioning member of society? Like, for real, you guys want me to like go out and not punch someone in the face? Like, that's just impossible for me. It is.

00:17:16

She's having prepartum psychosis.

00:17:19

The expectations were just too much. You have to go to work every day? That's insane.

00:17:25

But she did it.

00:17:27

Kind of.

00:17:28

She did it.

00:17:30

Yeah.

00:17:31

There was like one, like one day, I think your birthday, you were like really unwell, so So Ben filled in for you.

00:17:36

Yes, yes.

00:17:38

Yeah.

00:17:39

Well, what else can I share about me? Oh yeah, and so obviously like Derek Hough, Trisha Paytas' co-host, like I am pregnant now. Do not come for me. Like seriously, do not fucking come for me. I am off limits, okay? And I don't wanna hear it.

00:17:53

Yeah, what was the quote from Alex Cooper when she went on that CNBC show? When that guy was asking her about the show?

00:18:03

When she dodged the question. What did she say? She was like— she talks like this.

00:18:08

Yes.

00:18:08

We're in our— and she was— what did she say?

00:18:12

I don't know.

00:18:12

Can you pull it up? Okay, one sec. Because that's gonna be like my byline these days. Alex Cooper.

00:18:19

You should make it an audio.

00:18:22

CNBC. Here.

00:18:24

Like, we're in our mother era, David.

00:18:28

I'm busy building a child. Thank you.

00:18:31

Oh, to, uh, who— what was the interviewer's name? Aaron?

00:18:34

Greg.

00:18:35

Greg?

00:18:35

Craig or Aaron?

00:18:37

Aaron Sorkin.

00:18:38

Oh, Aaron Sorkin.

00:18:39

Aaron Sorkin? Yeah, we had this conversation about Aaron Sorkin.

00:18:43

Right.

00:18:43

I'm busy building a child, Aaron.

00:18:46

Like, I'm busy building a child, Derek.

00:18:48

Yeah.

00:18:50

So yeah, I'm officially off limits. I will be using my get out of jail free card for the remainder of this pregnancy.

00:18:56

I love that. You should go harder because you're sort of like untouchable.

00:19:00

Will do. Even though I'm not untouchable because I— we got canceled in our last pregnancy, this like dumbass scandal where everyone was wrong and we were right. And they're coming for Alex Cooper. So actually, being—

00:19:10

even though Alex Cooper did start that, I hate to go like and ask, but what were we canceled for?

00:19:16

I'm so glad you asked. Somebody started a like an actual libelous fake-ass rumor on TikTok that you and I had this like very controversial segment on the podcast where we talked about Elon Musk and the alleged Nazi salute, but that we cut it out. And people were like, what is it? What is it? Nobody ever asked to see the footage, by the way. There was nothing said, nothing cut. We literally never even talked about it on the podcast. And oh my God, it went insanely viral. Like, what's that phrase? A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to put its pants on. Oh my God, I was getting so much hate. I'm like, I didn't even do anything. A lot of times I get hate for something I did.

00:19:53

Yeah, something we said, you said the wrong way.

00:19:54

This was like a phantom scandal. And I was like, not only did this not happen, you guys are making shit up, I'm also pregnant, fuck off. No, people don't give you like— because cancellations are largely done in part by women. Women don't care about other women, especially pregnant women. Even though Alex Cooper, like, she did bring that scandal upon herself by like starting it, but still they're not letting her go.

00:20:16

Yeah, no, women— I didn't even realize you were pregnant at the time. I just—

00:20:20

Oh, I did. I was like so stressed. I'm like I really, I know it might not feel this way, but I really go out of my way to avoid any sort of drama or controversy or scandal on the podcast. It is par for the course when you do this job, but I think some people do seek it out. They really do. It gives me terrible anxiety. I don't want it. So I'm like, I didn't even do anything this time. What are you guys talking about? I felt crazy.

00:20:43

No, we were the only ones not crazy.

00:20:45

Correct, as always. The stories. Oh, we do have Dear Toasters today. I mean, we're already 20 minutes into the PFFB. It might just have to wait till next week. Oh, I do wanna let everyone know I'm out tomorrow, but we have like an actual like celebrity fill-in who will be sitting in this seat.

00:21:00

You guys are gonna love it. We have our number one guest co-host from Claudia's last maternity leave. Like I was thinking—

00:21:07

Yeah, we dove into the data.

00:21:08

I was thinking of who I wanna co-host with. It's just like one day that Claudia's out and I was like, well, who was the most popular person? The last time Claudia was out, and that person is co-hosting with me tomorrow.

00:21:21

Correct.

00:21:22

And I'll leave it at that.

00:21:24

We'll leave it at that.

00:21:26

Um, but yeah, I could get into the stories even though the major story is—

00:21:31

Even though, like, I'm pregnant.

00:21:33

Even though Koji is the major story.

00:21:35

It's insane that we would literally ever talk about, like, anyone else.

00:21:38

I know, but we still have some time to fill, so—

00:21:41

We do.

00:21:42

00:29:06

Our first story, country stars Ella Langley and Tucker Wetmore are dating. So nearly a year after sparking dating rumors, Ella Langley and Tucker Wetmore are now confirmed to be a pair. The pair were recently seen together after the Nashville Songwriter Awards, and previously they performed a duet at a charity event. So Tucker Wetmore is a very popular country artist. If you don't know him, he's very talented, on his way up. And Ella Langley is the current reigning queen of country.

00:29:34

Yeah, I feel like it's kind of crazy. Like, I don't know why I was like waiting for her to date Morgan Wallen, because like the king dates the queen, you know?

00:29:42

They never do.

00:29:43

No, they never do. And I also am shocked that she's dating a country artist because I feel like she had— she was involved in that sort of like drama with Riley Green and Megan Maroney. So much of Megan Maroney's new album is about Riley Green, and I think he like left Megan. Megan's side of it is that he like left Megan for Ella, and Ella was Megan's friend. But whatever, I don't know that to be true or false, and I'm not like involved deeply in that drama. A lot of people are, I'm not. Um, and I just feel like Tucker Wetmore has the potential to be like Riley Green 2.0.

00:30:11

Yes, I also see it more like Kacey Musgraves and her husband, whose name you don't know because you're—

00:30:20

what you're trying to say is like she's dating within her industry, but like at a lower level.

00:30:26

I see it like Mads Mikkelsen.

00:30:28

His name is Ryan Heard. Yeah.

00:30:30

What the hell? With Rustin Kelly.

00:30:32

Great memory.

00:30:33

And I also see it like Kelsey Ballerini and Morgan Evans. You know, I think I've seen this film before and I didn't like the ending.

00:30:45

It is very difficult to date someone, and I think gender roles play a huge thing here because like if it was a big country male star dating like an up-and-comer girl, we'd be like, oh yay, and it could work out. It would be amazing. It would be amazing. But like having the queen of country and like— and I know he's super popular, but like not even remote compared to her. It's very difficult when like the man is the less— lesser successful and they do the same thing. I think it really messes with them. Like Kelsea Ballerini, Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris.

00:31:14

And so I wanna love this because on its face I do. I've seen Tucker Wetmore on the charts and like, cool, they're like so country and young and attractive and successful, but it's a strange dynamic and you need to be a certain kind of man to thrive in that situation and not let it come between you. And, and we've yet to see that kind of man.

00:31:34

It gives me pause.

00:31:35

Like, unless he's gonna be a Connor Leavitt, you know?

00:31:39

And not everyone can be a Connor Leavitt.

00:31:41

No, they can't be.

00:31:44

It's kind of a Ben Safer.

00:31:46

Yes.

00:31:46

Like, we do the same thing, but like, obviously I'm like much more famous than successful. Even though like these days, like, I don't do anything. I say no to everything, and Ben like doesn't stop working. And he is going to eclipse me like relatively soon. Um, but yeah, no, it's not an easy thing.

00:32:01

No, it's not. So I'm rooting for them. I am always going to, you know, I'm not going to let the patterns of the past like dictate the future and like project that baggage onto them.

00:32:12

Of course you would never.

00:32:13

I, I would never. Um, and I don't want to like dampen everyone's mood because I feel like everyone was really excited about this.

00:32:19

Yeah.

00:32:20

Um, but that's just how Jack sees it.

00:32:25

I don't disagree. I love you coming at this from a negative place. Um, it's inspiring because I'm always the one sort of carrying the torch for the negative place.

00:32:33

I'm coming at this from a place of concern.

00:32:36

Yeah, just like sort of forewarning. Is that the word?

00:32:39

Yes, forewarned is forearmed.

00:32:42

Exactly, Ella, exactly.

00:32:44

So, you know, I don't know what she can even do, but I hope that she's— that he's just the right guy.

00:32:50

Yeah, like maybe he is the Conor Liavitt of the country music industry. Maybe he is.

00:32:55

Maybe he is. He looks great. I think I, I listened to his music.

00:32:59

And I just want to say, it's not like he has no success. He's actually like a chart topper, um, very new but like has a lot of potential. I think the problem with the examples we cited previously is like Like, there was like little to no commercial success.

00:33:12

Okay, so he is the person I'm talking about because I feel like I'm like, I feel like there's a Tucker Brunette that I like that I've been thinking of. But no, he has a song called Brunette, so it's him.

00:33:20

Yes, yes, he does. So he's not completely irrelevant at all. Like, I think he has a lot of potential to be like Ella level. The others, like when we were talking about like Kelsea and, and like, and I love them and I'm like a deep country music fan, but like they had like really no commercial success.

00:33:40

Yeah, um, but we wish you a hearty mazel tov.

00:33:44

We do wish you a hearty mazel tov. And Ella, I can't wait to see your wild side.

00:33:47

Like, everyone should get to know— she definitely has a wild side.

00:33:50

Obviously Tucker's getting to know it.

00:33:52

Yeah, obviously.

00:33:53

You truly sing and you dance at every place you go.

00:33:58

Obviously you can relate, having had a wild side yourself.

00:34:03

Oh, me? Of course. Yes, of course I can. And I could see it in her, you know?

00:34:07

So do you think Tucker will be able to handle all of that?

00:34:11

No. Just my prediction.

00:34:16

Okay, but we're rooting for you.

00:34:20

Who? Who are you talking to now?

00:34:21

Me? Tucker and Ella.

00:34:23

Yeah, no, it's cute, it's cute, it's cute. And also, like, I think that part of her continued success will be like, you have to do these types of things where you date within your industry.

00:34:31

And I also like the fact that she's like, publicly dating someone semi-obvious and it's like a cute couple that we can all root for.

00:34:40

Fun. You know, not just like— Even though we're like over here being haters.

00:34:43

No, no, no, I wasn't being a hater. I just like, I just needed to point that out. Sorry if that makes me toxic that I just couldn't like bite my tongue.

00:34:50

You don't have to apologize to me ever for being negative, hater, toxic. Like, you know, I live for that.

00:34:54

Sorry that I couldn't bite my tongue, but I just thought I should point that out. Like, you know.

00:34:58

And I'm glad you did.

00:34:59

Talking about like pop culture history, that's what we do. And we come at it from the wingnuts.

00:35:03

Of course, as historians ourselves, yes.

00:35:04

You know, that's all I had to say. I had to mention the history.

00:35:08

You don't have to explain yourself to me.

00:35:11

Are you ready for our next story?

00:35:14

Mm-hmm.

00:35:14

Taylor Swift dropped a new 13-second Patient Zero music video.

00:35:17

Oh, it's 13 seconds? I can't.

00:35:19

Trailer, um, featuring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell. Uh, it was played on CBS Mornings, and it will premiere at the MTV Video Music Awards, where she is getting the new award for newness.

00:35:35

Correct, for Lifetime Newness Award.

00:35:37

The Lifetime Newness of Directorial Newness video.

00:35:40

And this is where like I am annoyed because now I have to watch VMAs. And like even I might not have watched it before I knew the music video was coming because it's like, yeah, she's gonna be there, but it's like, you know, I'll watch the clips, you know. Now unfortunately I have to watch, and like that's annoying because I don't even know if I have MTV on my YouTube TV because that's how infrequently I Go over there. Um, her music videos are very good. Like, I think that we're gonna get something good. The song, we obviously didn't hear any of the song, but like there was like an instrumental. It's giving Irish jig.

00:36:12

It was.

00:36:13

And then Colin Farrell, Irish?

00:36:16

Yes.

00:36:17

Right? Sort of like the, the, the heartthrob of Ireland.

00:36:21

The Irishman.

00:36:22

It's giving like, it's giving Ireland, like the whole thing. I don't know how Dakota Johnson becomes Ireland, but—

00:36:28

And like the, The scene that I'm looking at is giving like spy movie, not Ireland.

00:36:36

Well, well, you could have a spy movie take place in Ireland.

00:36:39

It could be like Patient Zero double zero seven.

00:36:42

Double O zero, yeah. I love that.

00:36:44

Double O zero seven.

00:36:46

I was getting lots of Tortured Poets vibes.

00:36:49

Okay.

00:36:50

From just like a lot of the coloring and like it almost looked like the Folklore music video at some points. And but again, we're seriously just like grasping at straws. We saw 13 seconds. Like, I don't even know what the hell I'm talking about.

00:37:02

Um, looking forward, do you have any predictions for what the song's gonna sound like?

00:37:07

What's the title? Oh, Patient Zero. Okay, let me think. Hold on. Patient Zero. Patient Zero. This is like the beginning. Patient zero, I'm your hero. Let's Robert De Niro. Let's go hero zero. How many fucks do I get? How many fucks do I get?

00:37:39

None. Not one.

00:37:41

Zero, zero, zero Colin Farrell.

00:37:44

That's great.

00:37:46

Yeah, I'm— I think I'm kind of close.

00:37:47

We actually can't do this because whenever the song comes out, like, People are gonna actually sound like Mount Claudia. No, like anytime I think of the song title, like I will think of your version.

00:38:00

Patient Zero.

00:38:00

That was like—

00:38:01

Actually, I like what I was working with in the beginning there. Like Patient Zero. Obviously I lost it after Robert Jr. but—

00:38:05

Of course. I know, I like— Patient Zero.

00:38:08

Yeah. Auntie Hero.

00:38:09

It sort of sounds like The Brady Bunch. Here's a story.

00:38:14

A lovely lady. And honestly, that's obviously like an Easter egg because Taylor is super inspired. Yeah.

00:38:20

Yeah, Insurance Like a Big Family brings back to Wish List.

00:38:23

Yes, right, right. It always comes back to Wish List. Patient Zero. And like, it's a little bit robotic, like, Patient Zero. I love that.

00:38:38

Okay, well, we'll see you at the VMAs, and tomorrow we get the song.

00:38:44

Oh yeah.

00:38:46

Yeah.

00:38:46

Oh yeah, sorry, I didn't realize we get the song tomorrow.

00:38:49

Yeah, music Sunday. Yeah, it's really like, I guess, I don't know what it is, but she really sticks to this format, you know?

00:38:57

Old school, like going to award shows to promote her music, going to radio stations to promote her music. Yeah, she believes in like a 2000s version of the music industry. She's not letting it go.

00:39:08

I love how she just like uses the VMAs to fill.

00:39:11

I mean, we're like, Jackie, we're watching a music video on MTV. Like, what year is it?

00:39:15

And they're like like, please use us, you know?

00:39:18

Desperate to be used.

00:39:19

Would never come like just because you like us.

00:39:23

Or like she wants to win an award.

00:39:24

Like you're hoping to win something. Like, use our stage.

00:39:28

It's usury.

00:39:29

It's usury. Usury.

00:39:33

Major.

00:39:34

Are you ready for our next story?

00:39:35

Mm-hmm.

00:39:36

Ryan Murphy says he just finished the script for Ugly reboot and has spoken to the original cast. They're all very enthusiastic, says Ryan Murphy. So it's a good day to be a Glee. Following long swirling rumors of a potential Glee reboot, creator Ryan Murphy has officially weighed in and revealed that there's a script. He said, well, funny you asked, to Entertainment Tonight, because I just finished the script an hour ago. So we have a script. Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, and I, who wrote all the first 2 seasons, have written something. I've been in touch with around 10 of the original cast members. It's very sweet, and they all had a lot of questions, but they're all very enthusiastic about the idea.

00:40:09

Who are the 10? Of course Lea Michele, of course Matthew Morrison.

00:40:14

Let's do like the other Glee club members. So Jenna.

00:40:18

Oh, Jenna Ushkowitz, um, Mercedes Jones. Artie.

00:40:24

And Kurt.

00:40:24

Artie.

00:40:26

Sue. It's not a show without Sue.

00:40:29

Of course! Oh, it goes without saying, if Jane Lynch is unavailable, throw the script in the garbage.

00:40:34

Agreed.

00:40:35

Hopefully Coach B's, but I wouldn't include her in my 10.

00:40:37

Hopefully.

00:40:38

I love Coach B's.

00:40:38

Hopefully Roz Washington.

00:40:40

Mrs. Pillsbury for sure.

00:40:42

Were they still together by the end? Was she still on the show?

00:40:44

They got married, yeah.

00:40:46

Oh, Mrs. Pillsbury, okay, yeah, yeah.

00:40:48

Oh, Jaren Criss.

00:40:50

Yes. Becca Tobin.

00:40:51

Oh, I don't know if they're gonna go next gen, you know?

00:40:54

Yeah, like Marnie.

00:40:56

Right, there were so many people, and if they cast Marnie, they better not cast fat ugly loser face. And I need to say his name more. The one who abused the shit out of her physically, Blake Jenner. Yeah, he's like still a working actor. Isn't that insane?

00:41:10

Oh yeah.

00:41:11

Oh my God, like, and she went public with it, like literally. And I love that she said like, yeah, it's him. Like, not like I was once in a relationship. No, it was him. Um, I hate him. I see him sometimes like doing press. I'm like, you should be in jail. What are you doing on TV?

00:41:26

I'm proud to say, like, I don't see him around.

00:41:28

Blake Jenner is his name.

00:41:32

There's actually way more than 10 people who need to be in the Hall.

00:41:34

Melissa Benoist. Absolutely, absolutely. Um, now nobody on this planet— like, Glee did not make a bigger impact on anyone in the world than it did on me.

00:41:43

Harry Shum.

00:41:45

I know, I was thinking the same thing, but he's busy. He's on Grey's Anatomy. I love Glee. I have rewatched Glee. an infinite amount of times. And I do worry that the Glee curse is real. Absolutely. I do worry by rebooting the show, you also reboot the curse. And I feel that everybody who made it out of Glee unscathed and alive should be worried about that, honestly.

00:42:14

I don't think it's a Glee curse. I think it's a Hollywood curse. I think it's a Hollywood success curse.

00:42:23

I know, but like, it was— they were all on the same show.

00:42:26

It was a huge cast.

00:42:29

We had Finn, who was Cory Monteith, who passed away. We had Mark Salling, who was Puck, who was under investigation for like child pornography and then took his own life. Naya Rivera, tragic. Yeah, that's tragically passing. Oh, that was so horrible. Is that what— what else is involved in the Glee curse? Is that it? I mean, not that you need more than that.

00:42:50

Yeah, but there might be other like smaller stories, but I think in terms of death, those are the big 3. Yeah.

00:42:54

Oh, hopefully if Brad Falchuk is involved, the substitute teacher Holly Holliday will be making an appearance.

00:42:59

Like, honestly, the fact that there's only 10 on board is concerning to me. That number should be so true, a healthy 20, because there are more than 10 people that absolutely are non-negotiables for me to be involved.

00:43:10

Now let's come up with plot, 'cause it has to take place at William McKinley High School, obviously. So why would they all be coming back? Maybe it's their 10-year reunion, but that's like not compelling enough for like a series.

00:43:20

Are they old enough to have children?

00:43:23

Maybe, or like perhaps Mr. Schue, like the Glee Club has gotten so big and successful, New Directions, they're oozing out that they have to like bring on more teachers and like expand the Glee Club department.

00:43:34

Oh, that's cute.

00:43:36

And then like some people come back to teach. Uh, perhaps Lea Michele, who's in the show, like a Broadway star, Tony Award-winning. Maybe she comes back for like—

00:43:44

But all of these sound like, you know, small specials.

00:43:46

Temporary.

00:43:47

Yeah, or it could be like, you know, the town rec center is starting a Glee club for—

00:43:55

No, it has to take place at the school. Okay, I got it. Lea Michele gets like canceled. She has to go back home to her dad's house. And she's just, you know, gets back in contact with Mr. Schue. And, you know, maybe some of the glee club members live in and their kids go, um, and she reconnects to her past and she becomes the head of the glee club. And then she realizes maybe she doesn't need Hollywood, she just needs Mr. Schue.

00:44:22

Maybe. But I don't— I think she wouldn't be a good teacher because like, no, no, those who can't do teach.

00:44:30

Those who can do, go to Broadway.

00:44:33

Yeah, she's like so self-centered. She couldn't teach anyone else. No, I know. I don't know. And they did—

00:44:41

they did leave the high school. Yeah, they did leave the high school. They had like half the series where they were all living in New York, and that was like some of the worst episodes.

00:44:48

I like the idea of the rec center, like starting like a glee club, and then like, you know, varying adults in the community can come join.

00:44:56

The Glee room, like, is an important— it's a central character, you know?

00:45:01

Well, maybe the rec center took over the old William McKinley High School.

00:45:06

I hope they bring back the principal.

00:45:09

Yeah, he was a good principal. Or—

00:45:13

I have lots of ideas. I'm not about to give them to Ryan Murphy for free.

00:45:15

But also, it's like, it's your guys's problem to make this good.

00:45:18

Oh, and you better make it good. How about that?

00:45:21

Yeah. Yeah. Are you ready for our next story? I want to say speaking of Glee, but this has nothing to do with Glee, but it just feels like it does.

00:45:29

We could find a way.

00:45:30

Okay, because Taylor Lautner and his wife Tay Lautner have welcomed their first baby and announced the name. And I think as far as names go, like, this has been a highly anticipated name. What will the 2 people with the same name name their child? The same?

00:45:45

Will they name the baby Taylor?

00:45:47

Will they? Did they? No.

00:45:50

Kind of.

00:45:51

Kind of. They named their baby Lennon Taylor Lautner.

00:45:58

Now let me tell you how this connects back to Glee.

00:46:00

Like, why does he feel so Glee? It was the same time.

00:46:03

Because— oh, I'm sorry, and Quinn Fabray, Miss Anna Agron, better be one of the 10 people that was called. Obviously, when you think of Taylor Lautner, one of the things that comes to mind is Taylor Swift.

00:46:13

Yeah.

00:46:14

When I think of one of the things, when I think about Taylor Swift, I think about her longstanding and then almost disappeared immediately friendship with Dianna Agron. Dianna Agron, Glee.

00:46:24

Okay, okay. I didn't— more so it's just like the time that we were watching Twilight was like the same time we were watching Glee, so all those people are sort of wrapped up together.

00:46:30

No, don't oversimplify it.

00:46:32

Wrapped up together for me. Also, just speaking of Taylor really quickly, did you hear about like Dancing with the Stars is having a Taylor Swift night?

00:46:38

Oh, are they?

00:46:39

Yeah, in like a couple weeks. So people are thinking it has to do with like new music and stuff.

00:46:43

Right.

00:46:43

I had heard, not that I They have done that before.

00:46:46

I think I remember when Hannah Brown's season, she danced to Lover. Like, I think that they do have done Taylor Swift before. And you know, Mandy Moore, who choreographs a lot of the dances on Dancing with the Stars, is also Taylor Swift's choreographer. So there's lots of—

00:47:00

And of course, Jan Rovnik.

00:47:02

And of course, Jan Rovnik, yes. Okay, love this.

00:47:07

Yeah, just curious what that will mean for like new music and stuff, but—

00:47:11

If you're dancing to a Taylor Swift song, which one are you choosing? And what, and what style of dance are you doing?

00:47:18

I don't know.

00:47:19

Because me, I'm doing a jive to Message in a Bottle.

00:47:22

I might be doing a jive to Shake It Off.

00:47:25

You would.

00:47:26

You know?

00:47:27

Yeah, exactly.

00:47:30

Yeah, hell yeah.

00:47:31

Or Paper Rings. I would jive the fuck out of Paper Rings.

00:47:33

Or I'm doing like a Viennese waltz to Out of the Woods.

00:47:37

Oh, that's chilling. Or a tango, a tango to like a false god, you know? Sultry.

00:47:46

Very. Or a cha-cha. Is there a cha-cha?

00:47:51

She doesn't really do a lot of cha-cha. Like, let me think. Cha-cha to Reputation. Like a cha-cha to You Belong With Me.

00:48:01

That's so cute.

00:48:03

Yeah.

00:48:04

Um, the Taylors had their baby. Baby girl Lennon Taylor Lautner. Love Lennon. They're calling the baby Lenny. I love, I love that. I love that.

00:48:15

Oh, that's cute, Lenny.

00:48:16

I love that they included Taylor, of course, because that's so integral to their family. And now they're gonna have to make that the middle name for all their children. I hope they know that. Do they know that?

00:48:25

Oh, you think?

00:48:26

I think that's smart, so that they can all be Taylor's Lautners.

00:48:30

Yeah, right. Who, like, genuinely, who wouldn't want to be Taylor's Lautners?

00:48:35

Yeah. Yeah, but I don't know if they realize that. They might just think like their first baby, they're like naming for that.

00:48:39

Cutesy.

00:48:40

But no, you have to do it for all of your children.

00:48:43

Yeah.

00:48:44

And that's so cute.

00:48:45

It is. It's also like a good hyphenate to a first name, like Lennon Taylor.

00:48:49

Yeah. Or like, yeah, some people who use their middle names a lot, like Jean Taylor.

00:48:54

Do a lot of people use their middle names a lot?

00:48:57

Yeah. Like Lauren Elizabeth.

00:49:01

Is that her middle name? I thought it was more of like a stage name.

00:49:04

I think her middle name became her stage name.

00:49:06

Interesting. Yeah, definitely people in Hollywood like use their middle names as like their first name. Uh, Rachel Meghan Markle.

00:49:12

Rachel Meghan Markle, exactly.

00:49:14

I wonder if I was like in the same room as Meghan Markle and I said Rachel, would she turn around? No, I don't think so either.

00:49:22

Her friends, they call her Meg, right?

00:49:24

Right. It's giving Kelly Brianne.

00:49:36

Everything is giving Kelly Brianne.

00:49:39

1,000%. I am Kelly Brianne, and the name of my unborn child is Kelly Brianne.

00:49:45

Yeah, that's beautiful.

00:49:46

You're welcome.

00:49:47

Uh, so mazel tov to the Lautners, all 3 Taylors Lautners.

00:49:51

To all 3 Taylors Lautners.

00:49:53

You crushed the name, which As we all know, it's not easy to do. It's a very difficult thing to do.

00:50:00

00:55:17

And nothing hurts anymore, I feel kind of free.

00:55:24

Our 5th and final story is, um, some casting news because Netflix has a new like celebrity reality TV competition show Okay, trying to compete with Traders. To the mix called Million Dollar Secret. So I believe Million Dollar Secret was a layperson reality TV show, and now they're doing it with celebrities.

00:55:43

But I, I heard Wes Wilson is on it.

00:55:45

Wes Wilson is on it. So this is who is on Million Dollar Secret. They, you know, film at a glamorous lakeside estate known as the Stag, and there they must outwit their competition and identify the recipient of a million dollars hiding among them. So here's everyone who didn't get cast on Traitors.

00:56:02

Literally.

00:56:04

Adam Rippon.

00:56:05

Or Dancing with the Stars.

00:56:06

Dancing with the Stars. Adam Rippon.

00:56:07

Or I think Adam Rippon like already did Dancing with the Stars.

00:56:09

Right, or they've already done those things.

00:56:11

Right.

00:56:13

Adam Rippon, Olympian. Adam Scherr, who's a host of something called Everything on the Menu. Brianna Chickenfry. Bridget Everett, comedian.

00:56:24

Bridget Everett. Okay, well, maybe they shouldn't have canceled her amazing HBO show and she wouldn't have to be slumming it on a show with Wes Wilson.

00:56:31

Shelley Basaint, host of Love, Songs. Chloe Vitch, host of Sneaky Links, but we all know her from that season of Too Hot to Handle. Like, tell us where they're from.

00:56:41

Okay, thank you. Netflix loves her. They're always putting her in shit.

00:56:44

Good for her.

00:56:45

Yeah.

00:56:45

Like, gainful employment. I love that.

00:56:48

Yep.

00:56:49

Chris Redd, comedian from SNL. I know him. Christine Quinn, Selling Sunset. She would actually be really good on Traitors.

00:56:57

Yes, she would.

00:56:58

Maybe she already did it. She didn't, because she has the looks.

00:57:03

Yes, and like, she's very smart. Sharp.

00:57:06

She's smart. You— she's very villainous, so you probably expect her to be a traitor, but then she probably would be a faithful. David Arquette, the actor.

00:57:14

What in the world is this cast?

00:57:16

Dom Gabriel from Perfect Match. Melora Hardin, your favorite actress.

00:57:22

You're kidding me.

00:57:23

Melora Hardin.

00:57:25

That's Jan from The Office, right?

00:57:26

Yeah.

00:57:28

And the boss from The Bold Type.

00:57:30

Yep. And the principal from 17 Again.

00:57:33

Well, this changes everything because I was about to be really negative, but Melora Hardin is working.

00:57:37

No, the cast is pretty real. I know you probably only saw Wes Wilson, so you just assumed it was like people who couldn't get jobs elsewhere, but like there are—

00:57:44

It does sound like people who couldn't get jobs elsewhere.

00:57:46

But Melora can get jobs.

00:57:49

Yes.

00:57:50

David Arquette can get jobs.

00:57:53

Maybe not like he used to.

00:57:54

Phoebe Robinson, who's a comedian, and Wes Wilson.

00:57:59

I'm not gonna lie, it's not a very compelling cast. Like, in terms of— if you want to be up there competing with the Traitors and the Dancing with the Stars of the world, I don't know.

00:58:08

Well, you gotta start somewhere, right? Like, who was Traitors season 1 cast?

00:58:13

I feel like it was still like good people.

00:58:15

Yeah.

00:58:15

And you would think just like being Netflix, like people would wanna be on it.

00:58:19

Yeah. Yeah. There, it's not like amazing. Also, what is the Million Dollar Secret? Like how does it work?

00:58:28

I don't know. I think like one person, I don't know actually. I'm not even gonna pretend.

00:58:32

Oh, the first season of Traitors was both celebrities and civilians.

00:58:36

Oh, that's interesting. Who were the celebrities?

00:58:38

The celebrities were, um, Um, Suri Fields from Survivor, Quentin Giles, a political analyst, Andy Vanacore slash Thurmond, a music services director, and then Ari Leyendyk, Brandi Glanville, Cody Calafiore, Kate Chastain, Kyle Cook, Rachel Riley, Ryan Lochte, and Stephanie LaGrossa Kendrick from Survivor.

00:59:00

Okay, so like the two are not the same because that's a pretty good cast for a show that just like nobody knows about.

00:59:05

Yeah.

00:59:06

Kyle Cooke was on Traitors?

00:59:08

Season 1.

00:59:09

I'm cracking up. Like, no, I'm sorry, this is— I really probably won't ever watch anything that Wes Wilson does just 'cause like it goes against my code of ethics. So unless I hear that this is like the most amazing show and people are like, Charity, you gotta watch it, it will be a pass for me. And that's mostly because I hate Wes Wilson, but also this is like kind of a ragtag group.

00:59:31

Yeah, no, and I feel like it's not must-watch television unless you're like invested in the people, which I'm not.

00:59:37

Me neither. But I do imagine like West needs money. Yeah, going on a year of like no work.

00:59:43

I mean, Ciara called him broke on Dancing with the Stars.

00:59:47

And you know what, she's not wrong. She did go on Twitter and clarify, being like, by the way, I've unfortunately dated like a lot of broke guys. Like she said she wasn't talking about, um, West, even though like he definitely is on the verge of brokey.

00:59:59

Yeah, so she danced to No Broke Boys and like Julianne asked her about the inspiration Stupid question.

01:00:07

As always, Julianne with the stupid question. Oh, sorry, I don't mean to come for the Houghs.

01:00:10

You know I love her, like, you know that I do.

01:00:12

No, I love her.

01:00:12

She's in—

01:00:12

do you see, she's getting so much hate for the dress that she wore.

01:00:15

I loved the dress. She looked—

01:00:17

Oh my God, I thought it was like cute. Like, I don't know, I would never wear it, but I had no problem with it. People were like, are you gonna talk about her dress? I'm like, no.

01:00:23

She looked so cool. She looked so beautiful. Like, she can seriously do no wrong. But there's nothing really to ask after someone just danced and they're out of breath. So you're like, what was the inspiration for No Broke Boy?

01:00:32

Yeah. Oh, I don't know, they told me to dance to it, so I did.

01:00:35

I had to pick a viral song. Like, no, but anyway, so Sierra said like a broke boy tried to ruin my life, but he didn't, and we're here.

01:00:43

And now he's on this like sad show.

01:00:46

Yeah, trying to keep a secret, which he is very good at. He is. Can you keep a secret?

01:00:52

Me?

01:00:53

Mm-hmm.

01:00:55

No. Like, if you guys have a piece of information that you don't want getting out, never tell me. Like, I mean that.

01:01:01

I can keep a secret.

01:01:02

Unless you are a blood relative of mine.

01:01:06

Like, I'm even— then I'm still not gonna tell people that you're pregnant.

01:01:09

You shouldn't.

01:01:10

Did you ever tell like my friends before you posted?

01:01:13

So funny. I have been like very blasé. I was like telling people on the street, but then also sometimes I'd be like very superstitious. I'm like, Ben, you can't tell, you know? Only when it came to Ben. And as I was getting ready to announce, I'm like, I guess there are people I should tell, but I genuinely cannot remember who I told, right? So I just decided, fuck it, like, they'll call me.

01:01:32

Yeah, because it's like you don't want like some people in your personal life to like find out with the rest of the world, so you try and like tell your people a couple days before. Exactly.

01:01:38

But I lost track.

01:01:39

But I didn't tell my friends because I would never.

01:01:42

I couldn't remember. And then I was texting with your friend Sam and she was like, how are you feeling? And I was like, oh, I must have told her. I'm like, so much better, thank God. And she never answered me. And then I think yesterday she sent me a screenshot. She was like, I wasn't sure what you were talking about. I'm like, well, that's a weird way to ask how I'm doing. She said, how are you feeling?

01:02:03

That's funny. I wonder what she meant.

01:02:04

So I guess I, I didn't tell her.

01:02:06

No, I don't think you did. Like, I don't think I told Dana. I didn't tell Dana. I didn't tell her.

01:02:10

You know what? It came across my mind. I'm like, oh, I should tell Dana. And then I obviously forgot and just like posted. And then Dana called me.

01:02:17

But like, my friends know me. Like, I'm a steel trap. And even like when they want word to get out, I'm like, like, mum's the word.

01:02:24

I'm a jelly trap. Like, I can't stop. It's not—

01:02:29

don't worry, Claudia, I'll keep your secret.

01:02:31

Like, I heard a piece of gossip, like, just about, like, people I know, nothing interesting, like, maybe like 4 or 5 days ago. When I tell you I've not stopped talking about it.

01:02:41

Well, that's different. Nobody asked you not to share, and it's a story— I think I know what you're saying— that's going around town. That's completely different. If someone asks me not to share something White from my memory. I might forget it's true.

01:02:52

I guess it depends who's asking.

01:02:54

Yeah.

01:02:56

Let's dive into Dear Toasters, our weekly advice segment that we usually do on Tuesday, but we're doing today on Thursday. If you ever want to write in to get advice from us, head over to thetoastpodcast.com. We've got a little submission box, or you can just shoot us an email, thetoastpodcast— nope, deartoasters@gmail.com. Are you ready?

01:03:11

Yep.

01:03:12

Hey, Swirlies, I'm 2 years postpartum with my second child, and I've gradually lost weight I'm finally back to my wedding weight and I am thrilled. My husband—

01:03:19

Wedding weight?

01:03:21

Yeah, my husband is not. He's constantly commenting on how skinny I am, how I have no butt, Skeletor, etc. Let me clarify. Let me clarify. I'm 5'8 and £180, so I'm like nowhere near alarmingly skinny. I feel so good about myself and he's just being a total hater.

01:03:36

I even—

01:03:38

I even feel I could continue to lose weight because according to my BMI, I am still considered overweight. I recently saw on his phone he was looking at large women, BBW as they call it, um, and when you search the web. I also do think this could be family trauma as well. My mother-in-law definitely has some form of eating disorder. She's very thin and muscular. Do I tell him I know he has this fat girl fetish? How do I handle his body shaming? I don't give a fuck. I feel so good about myself again. Thoughts?

01:04:02

Ooh, this is complex.

01:04:04

Yeah, 'cause like on the one hand, dream partner, you know?

01:04:07

No, and on the other— On the, on the one hand, it is your body. You need to feel good. What— however you want to look and want to be and want to live, like, that is what we're gonna do here. We're not gonna—

01:04:20

Especially after having kids, like, right?

01:04:22

We're not gonna like stay unhealthy and unhappy because like that's what your husband wants.

01:04:27

Because she has some mommy issues.

01:04:28

Right, right, right, right. But like, what do you do when your ideal body type is not your husband's? husband's type.

01:04:36

So I would sort of like decenter yourself from this because I feel that your husband's like obviously projecting like something going on with him. I don't think it's more of a reflection on like him being attracted to you. Um, it is like most unfortunate that he's like putting his shit on you when like you've just got done having babies, like you're finally feeling good about yourself and he's over here like having a breakdown looking at BBW online. Um, unfortunately, like you do have to talk to him about this, you know.

01:05:00

This is not something you can just sort Yeah, but I don't understand how like you're at your wedding weight, the weight that he married you at, and like now he's saying that that's not attractive to him.

01:05:10

See, that's what I'm saying. That's not the case. Like, I, I don't think it really has anything to do with the girl writing in, so I don't want her to like feel bad about herself or think he's not attracted to her because yeah, he married you at this weight. That's like probably when someone loves you the most is when they marry you. Like, so sort of like he kind of needs to go to therapy.

01:05:27

Yeah, but you, I guess, should talk about it. Um, but also it's like, it's so like immature, like a child. Like, I want you to be this size. Like, why don't you just love the person?

01:05:39

What about that? No, if I wanted to look in and find like a deep red flag, I could. Like, controlling someone's weight is insane.

01:05:45

Yeah.

01:05:45

Now he's not controlling it, he's just like making comments.

01:05:47

No, and it's like, if you don't look this way, then I'm not attracted to you. Like, why not be attracted to the woman who beared your children, who loves you? Even though you sound like a piece of work.

01:05:57

Let's talk about what he looks like. Tell us. Let's start criticizing him. Like, why are we talking about your weight? This is fucking crazy.

01:06:05

Yeah, keep going.

01:06:06

Divorce.

01:06:07

Keep going.

01:06:08

He's obvious— obviously gay.

01:06:11

No, not divorce, but you know.

01:06:14

No, not divorce, but like seriously grow the fuck up.

01:06:16

And just like know in your head like that he's mostly wrong, and don't let it like stop you from enjoying your life.

01:06:24

And in case nobody said this to you, good for you, mama. Postpartum, 2 years, back at your wedding weight.

01:06:28

Slay, mama Skeletor.

01:06:30

Slay, mama. And you know what? You wear that Skeletor with pride.

01:06:34

Oh, of course.

01:06:35

That's like when somebody called me an Ozempic skeleton. Like, okay, best day of my life.

01:06:38

Thanks.

01:06:40

Hey gals, earlier this year my family relocated to a new city and state for my job because, you know, corporate boss swirly. In my quest to make adult friends as a grown woman, which somehow feels harder than dating, I met another mom. We've now hung out 3 times, twice with the kids and once for a mom wine night. We text throughout the week about school, parenting, all the random mom things. Honestly, I think it's going great and she could really become a good friend of mine. There's just one tiny problem. I do not know her name. Somewhere between the first text exchange, playground hangs, wine night, I just missed it. She never actually signed her messages with her name and now I fear I'm in too deep in the friendship to ask. I've searched the school directory, I've scrolled old texts, I've played an internet detective, nothing. So what do I do? Confess, continue living this fake double life hoping someone says her name in front of me, fake a head injury and start over. Signed, a squirrelly just trying to make new friends. Um, this is such a real thing.

01:07:27

Yeah.

01:07:27

And I don't know like how, um, I don't, I don't know how you just don't find out her name. No, like there's a lot of ways.

01:07:34

2 practical methods I'm gonna share. One, like looking up her phone number.

01:07:38

Yes.

01:07:39

In like a phone directory. There are like apps where it will tell you who this is.

01:07:42

A lot of times if you just Google search someone's phone number, it might come up too. Right?

01:07:45

I would also introduce her to your husband and then and you say, this is my husband Steve, and she goes, hi, I'm—

01:07:53

I'm Sarah. What do you think her name is?

01:07:56

Melora Harding. I think her name's Melora.

01:08:01

This is seriously so unfortunate.

01:08:02

Yeah.

01:08:03

But I also don't know how you haven't found it. I feel like you're not trying hard enough. Like, between having her phone number and like knowing where she lives, search her address.

01:08:12

Sync your contacts to Facebook and then Facebook will give you her page.

01:08:18

Or like, do you just have a friend? Like, for us it's Olivia Ashray. Like, if I need a piece of information, I take it to the OOBI, the Olivia Ashray Bureau of Investigations. Do you have an FBI member in your midst? Do you have an informant? Because if I needed someone's name and all I had was their phone number, Olivia would say, give me 10 minutes.

01:08:37

Yeah, this is nothing for a girl like Olivia.

01:08:40

Sometimes it's okay to outsource, you know?

01:08:42

Honestly, just give us her phone number.

01:08:43

I was gonna say, DM Olivia the girl's phone number and any other ident— maybe you have her address, like if you went to wine night.

01:08:48

DM Olivia, say Jackie and Claudia told me to DM you.

01:08:52

To give you this. The lattices.

01:08:57

And there it goes.

01:08:59

So unless you have like an Olivia in your life, like feel free to use ours.

01:09:02

Yeah, I'll give her out for one favor.

01:09:05

Yes, but like don't abuse it. Don't abuse it because like we keep her very busy.

01:09:10

Yeah.

01:09:11

All right, our 3rd and final. Hey, Jax and Claude, I have a weird question. My ex from like 10+ years ago would always wear this very specific cologne that I really loved. I'd forgotten about it until recently when some random guy at work was wearing it. I love the scent so much I'm actually considering buying it for my husband. Is that weird? Yes, it reminds me of my ex, but it's not like I'm thinking about him constantly or that I care. I'm literally married to my dream man, and honestly, I just love the scent. I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking it. Would love to hear your thoughts.

01:09:36

You know what, like, it's fine as long as, you know, just like you and us and our millions of listeners know this. Like, are the only people, you know, we're the only people who know it. I will say, I think for me, like, scent is so wrapped up in memory that I personally— I would not be able to extricate the smell from the person. In fact, the smell would smell like my feelings about that person. So I just want to say, like, if you love the smell—

01:09:57

I, um, totally agree. If I was a therapist and I wanted to look into this, like, I would say you're obviously not over your ex. Scent is so tied to people.

01:10:04

Yeah. So for me, I couldn't. But if you really just love the smell and he happened to be the one who introduced you to it and you don't think of him at all, go for it. You found a smell you like. That's hard.

01:10:15

I'm actually gonna disagree with you and say this is a slippery slope. This is how it starts, then you're stalking him on Facebook, you send him a friend request. I think, girl, you're playing with fire. And there are a million fragrances out there. And you know what, you could ask chat, like, if I like this Draca Noir, what is an alternative?

01:10:36

Yeah, that's a good idea.

01:10:38

Because I do think there's some unresolved— like, you being obsessed with this fragrance 10 years later, like, there's definitely some unresolved things going on there.

01:10:43

Yeah, you're trying to like turn your man into your ex.

01:10:46

Exactly. And like, you're sort of like— you're sort of in your submission like preaching a little too hard. And I have my dream man. It's like, well, do you?

01:10:55

But also, I would need to know more about like the ex. Like, is it just like, you know, one of many exes? Not like the ex of your life? Do you know what I mean? Like, just someone you dated for a little bit in college or whatever.

01:11:08

Like— She just refers to him as her ex from like 10+ years ago.

01:11:11

I know, but it's like—

01:11:12

I guess that is a really long time ago.

01:11:13

Like, is that a— like, people have significant exes and then people have insignificant exes.

01:11:18

Of course. Of course. On the rate of 1 to 10, how significant was the sex? Only you can answer that. And if it's above—

01:11:25

How significant was this ex? Not—

01:11:27

Yes, that was sex.

01:11:29

How significant was the sex?

01:11:30

If it's above a 6, find another fragrance.

01:11:33

Mm-hmm.

01:11:35

That's Dear Toasters. Thank you to everybody who wrote in. Sorry for the delay to the DTQ, but we got you in just in the nick of time. Just a reminder, I'm out tomorrow, but we have a celebrity guest host filling in, and it's not Ben. Okay, just letting you know. It's not popular.

01:11:49

He's very popular.

01:11:50

And he's a celebrity.

01:11:51

No, and we had a lot of celebrities on when you were on your maternity leave, and And this was the biggest and the baddest. Most popular.
