00:00:03

Good morning, girlies, it's The Toast.

00:00:08

It's Jax and Claude and we're your hosts.

00:00:13

It's your favorite show, the fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, it's The Toast.

00:00:23

I sound amazing.

00:00:25

Welcome back to The Toast and happy Wednesday. That's right, it is hump day and you're not seeing double, you're seeing trouble. Yeah, that's That's right. We came to work today, did not drive together, and look what happens.

00:00:35

Paid the ultimate price.

00:00:36

We both— Jackie walked in wearing the same sweater as me and a curler in her hair. I walked in wearing that same sweater and a curler in my hair.

00:00:43

Same sweater, same color, because we each have this sweater in 2 colors.

00:00:47

And don't tell anyone I wore it yesterday.

00:00:49

And we could have been wearing a different color.

00:00:50

Yeah.

00:00:50

And maybe I would've been, but you took mine.

00:00:53

Yes, I wore yours. Yes.

00:00:54

No, I had planned to wear this color 'cause it matched my shoes better and Lo and behold. It is what it is. Turtleneck. I mean, it's just so crazy.

00:01:02

It's so— Of all the sweaters in all the world, you had to walk into the studio.

00:01:06

I have my reasoning for why I went with this one today.

00:01:08

Oh, I have my reasoning too. I'm big as a house.

00:01:11

I'm wearing like these form-fitting capris that I always like to wear with a cardigan. Um, but I didn't wanna wear a cardigan that was like too snug 'cause there's—

00:01:19

You do not have to explain yourself. It's an amazing sweater. It's one of my favorite wears.

00:01:23

It's from Nudes. Shout out Nudes. Please make it in more colors so that this will happen less.

00:01:27

It's very boxy. It's very flattering.

00:01:30

I like the boxy moxy part.

00:01:31

For a big woman, like, I recommend this sweater.

00:01:35

Agreed.

00:01:36

It's an amazing sweater.

00:01:37

But I, I do plan to wear it as a small woman as well.

00:01:39

And I'm sure it's gonna look just as good. That's the magic of this sweater.

00:01:42

Yeah, it's, it's the sisterhood.

00:01:44

Of the Traveling Cardigan.

00:01:46

Please, like, make more colors, okay?

00:01:48

Yeah. And let's just, like, you know, let's not get into, like, who wore it best. That's just not the types of game wins we wanna play. It's also, like, it's not a level playing field. Like, I'm obviously, like, wearing this cardigan for 2. It's just—

00:01:59

Sparta.

00:02:00

Yeah, no, you're not. Um, it's just, it's not a level playing field. Dancing with the Stars. When do the episodes become 1 hour? Don't they? Like when there's less contestants?

00:02:15

Never.

00:02:16

Really? When there's like 5 people left, there's still 2 hours?

00:02:18

I think so.

00:02:20

'Cause last night was the first night.

00:02:21

They're not gonna give up that hour of advertisement.

00:02:23

Last night was the first night where I was like, there are too many people on this show.

00:02:26

There are.

00:02:27

We are due for a double. Twist my arm, a triple elimination.

00:02:30

I could go for a double elimination, but I fear that like—

00:02:33

Guillermo's gone.

00:02:34

No, by the way, I decided last night that I think Guillermo should win the Mirror Ball.

00:02:39

Okay.

00:02:40

I think he should win, but then the only thing that's stopping me is Ezra.

00:02:47

Right.

00:02:47

Like, for me, it's Guillermo or Ezra to win the Mirror Ball.

00:02:51

For me, it's Ezra or Tatiana Ali, who is very quietly becoming my favorite contestant.

00:02:58

I have a lot, I have a good amount of like favorites.

00:03:01

I mean, there's 1,000 people on the show.

00:03:03

There's so many people there and we just sort of need to drain the swamp a little bit.

00:03:06

Yeah, we do, 'cause I'm watching and I'm sort of becoming like detached. I'm like, who's next? I don't care. Like, I feel when the season first premiered, I could not wait to see the dances and now I'm like, ugh, another person?

00:03:15

Another dance? Like, sorry, Pasha and Amber. I'm sorry.

00:03:18

Actually, that's like a hot take 'cause people like Pasha and Amber. I feel like, sorry, Who's on the show that I don't wanna be mean saying?

00:03:27

She doesn't wanna say it. I'll name 'em.

00:03:29

Who did you say?

00:03:30

Pasha and Amber.

00:03:31

Sorry, Harry Shum. Like, seriously. Except you brought, um, Kurt and, um, Mercedes to the ballroom last night, so you're doing your job.

00:03:39

So sometimes when I'm going through Dancing with the Stars Twitter, I see old clips of previous seasons of like amazing dances. So like Milo and Whitney. I saw one last night about, I believe, Jordan Fisher.

00:03:52

People were obsessed with her.

00:03:52

And Riley Arnold's older sister, Lindsay. And it was such an amazing dance and it was the big wheels keep on turning and they were doing the jive and it was, and it was incredible ballroom dancing. And like, I wanna see that too.

00:04:04

So that level.

00:04:04

Yeah. And that's what Harry and Jenna are there for, to give us some like good dancing. And so I wanna try and like appreciate them while they're there, but they're just like not giving us iconic moments. But like, they're the only one, like Jordan Fisher was a good dancer and he became an amazing dancer on Dancing with the Stars. That's what Harry and Jenna are capable of. And like, we want to see good dancing too. Like, I don't just want to see a fucking mess and putting a bow on and saying you tried your best.

00:04:28

We kind of like see enough regular people doing regular things in everyday life.

00:04:31

And everyone is there for a reason. But I do want— like, I feel robbed that I don't get to see this Jordan Fisher dance.

00:04:38

Well, maybe like it's still early in season, it's only week 3. Like, maybe I— I know I'm like a broken record. I feel like Tatiana Ali could get to a place where she's giving us Jordan Fisher level. Like, She is so good. I was shook at her dance last night. Our first story is Dancing with the Stars, right?

00:04:49

Our last story. It always is, 'cause like not everyone watches.

00:04:51

And we just sort of like play this game every week where—

00:04:53

Yeah, where we try not to talk about it, but you brought it up.

00:04:55

I would, 'cause that's like what I did last night.

00:04:56

Yeah.

00:04:57

I watched the longest show on television.

00:04:59

Yeah, me as well. We had dinner together. That was—

00:05:02

It was nice.

00:05:02

That was great. We got— did we get manicures yesterday? Was that yesterday?

00:05:05

It was. Yeah, we got manicures. Um, it's just a fun fact, you know, Here in Florida, things are a little different. Jeopardy's on at 7:30, like right before Dancing with the Stars. In New York, it's 7 o'clock Jeopardy, 7:30 Wheel of Fortune. Here, swapped.

00:05:22

Interesting.

00:05:23

Kind of threw me. I was like, wait, am I early? It was 7:45. I'm like, why?

00:05:26

Light savings.

00:05:26

Why are we watching Jeopardy?

00:05:27

Which is coming up.

00:05:29

So what does that mean? We're springing backwards?

00:05:31

It just means that it will get dark earlier. So like at 5 o'clock it's dark, which—

00:05:35

Great. So like this is where we all become depressed.

00:05:37

Yeah, it's kind of a bummer.

00:05:39

Major bummer.

00:05:40

Mm-hmm.

00:05:40

Oh, thanks for that.

00:05:42

Yeah, sorry. I don't know when that's happening. Probably, probably have some time, but it's already naturally happening, as you can tell.

00:05:47

Like, yes, and of course it's for the farmers.

00:05:49

It's getting darker earlier.

00:05:50

We respect them always, always and forever.

00:05:53

They keep this country moving.

00:05:55

1,000%.

00:05:55

Grooving.

00:05:56

So if I have to, like, you know, struggle with my mental health for the farms, then I'll do it, because that's what it takes to be an American. Absolutely. So we have this— we got manicures yesterday. We have the same exact nail color. We're wearing the same exact sweater.

00:06:10

Thankfully we're wearing different pants and shoes.

00:06:13

Yeah, I went for like a chocolate brown pant when you went for black.

00:06:16

Yeah.

00:06:16

So we're so different. Like, that's what—

00:06:18

And then these are my shoes, which I just thought matched perfectly.

00:06:20

They do, they do. And because I went with chocolate brown, I'm wearing like a brown Louis Vuitton sandal. So just— I'm not bending down to pick up my shoe, but just trust that they're like sick.

00:06:27

They are.

00:06:28

Such a plight of being a petite woman, and of course I mean vertically, not horizontally, um, is every pair of pants you own, like, you have to get hemmed.

00:06:35

Yeah.

00:06:35

Like, that's insane.

00:06:37

I know.

00:06:38

Shout out to the companies that do petite. Like, Topshop is always doing like petite jeans. Um, Abercrombie does it really well. But I'm wearing these cool Aritzia pants, they're pooling on the ground.

00:06:46

Yeah, I have like a pile of pants in my closet and then—

00:06:48

Am I really expected to tailor a pair of pants from Aritzia? Like—

00:06:53

No, but what's crazy is like moving through sizes the way that I am on both ends of the spectrum, like I have so many pairs. Every time I get a new— I'm getting a new pair of pants like every month.

00:07:02

Yeah.

00:07:03

It's not supposed to be like that.

00:07:04

No, and I just feel like going to the tailor is reserved for like when I get invited to the Met Gala. Like, going to the tailor's not like an everyday thing.

00:07:09

No, but getting your clothes tailored, your everyday clothes tailored, like, is an elite level.

00:07:14

It's extremely indulgent in my opinion.

00:07:16

No, but I think it's like this, this a small thing that makes a huge difference.

00:07:20

That's what they always used to say on Fashion Police. George Stephanopoulos— Kotziopoulos was always saying the tailoring on here is impeccable.

00:07:26

Yeah.

00:07:26

What happened to him?

00:07:29

I think he's still styling.

00:07:32

You think? Is he Kotziopoulos or Stephanopoulos?

00:07:35

There's 2 different ones. Stephanopoulos is like a newsman.

00:07:38

I got a manicure next to him in the city one time.

00:07:40

I remember.

00:07:41

It was like kind of amazing. I couldn't believe he was getting a manicure like in public. Not that there's anything wrong with men getting manicure, like, no, like a nice, like, you know, touch-up. Like, I like men— like, when you have gross hands, like, it's gross. But it was just—

00:07:51

I want you to have nice hands, but I don't want to witness you getting the process of the, the nice hands coming to life.

00:07:55

They should do it at the barber. Yes, I think a lot of people do get their nails done at the barber.

00:08:00

Okay, good, cuz I don't want to witness it. And don't come into like female dominated spaces and pick up a chair and put your foot—

00:08:07

It's— that's true. Don't bring your fungus into our like our foot baths, into our sacred place. That's true. But he didn't get a pedicure, he just got— as far as I know. And I was like, is that George Katziopoulos Stephanopoulos? But George Katziopoulos was on Fashion Police and he was there cuz he was like a celebrity stylist. What happened to him?

00:08:25

If you say so.

00:08:26

Yeah, like I would say like they need to bring back Fashion Police, but they actually really don't. People can't handle it.

00:08:32

No, it's— no, no, no, because what they would bring back would be a pile of dreck.

00:08:36

No, it would be very sensitive. Like you can't say you don't like someone's dress.

00:08:39

No, no, it would not be good. If they wanted to bring it back in its original form, like hot take—

00:08:44

Resurrect Joan from the dead.

00:08:46

That would be amazing, but no one's gonna do that. Why would anyone do that?

00:08:49

Right, and yeah, Joan was one of one. Yeah, where people like wanted to be roasted by her and sort of uncancelable. Ah, my queen.

00:08:59

Mm-hmm.

00:09:00

I feel that perhaps we dive in just because like I want to talk about Dancing with the Stars.

00:09:05

Okay, if you say so.

00:09:07

Unless— is there anything else you want to chat about?

00:09:08

If you say so. No, no, no, we can get into the stories. If anything else comes up, you know, I'll find my way.

00:09:14

Of course.

00:09:14

I'll feel free to speak my truth.

00:09:16

And we always do. And that's what this show is all about, like a safe space to speak your truth.

00:09:20

A safe space to divert from the stories, you know.

00:09:22

That's— how are the stories? Dreadful? Because you said yesterday and they were like not bad.

00:09:28

No, they weren't. So the— I would say these are light, like the sort of day where I didn't know which one's number one.

00:09:32

Oh, that's like kind of a really bad indicator of— oh, I want to say something. It's just like something I've noticed being in Florida for 3 days. The ins— and I like, I love Instacart. I'm their number one shopper. I do it all the time in the city. Um, it's so different here. Like, I feel that The shoppers take so much care with my order. Like, I feel that they really like want me to be happy. You know, I've done like, I'm like embarrassed to say like 3 orders since I've gotten here. I have one going right now. And like, they're literally sending me so many pictures. Like, they don't have this, but they have this. And in New York, like you get what you get and you don't get upset. And it's more speaks like the mentality of New Yorkers. They're like, seriously, go fuck yourself. You're ordering groceries from an app. Like you'll get what you get. In, in, they literally will not move in the store until you answer them. Like so thoughtful here. Really.

00:10:14

Oh wow. I guess I'm just used to it. Mm-hmm. 'Cause that's what I expect. expect like from my Instacart, cuz that's been my experience. I didn't know other people had it so negative.

00:10:22

Yeah. And then like I met my shopper yesterday, like in, in the city.

00:10:25

Like, did you guys get drinks?

00:10:27

Like you, it's kind of like a faceless, nameless thing.

00:10:29

It is. It is.

00:10:30

But I was like chatting with him.

00:10:31

And then that also means like there's no accountability. Like you don't have to look someone in the eye and tell them that you got them the wrong yogurt.

00:10:36

And no human connection. Mm-hmm. Um, and I think it really, like, I felt so inclined. I went into the app and I increased my tip cuz it was just like such a lovely man, like who Just connecting with me. It's all about human connection at Instacart.

00:10:47

It really is. And I think that is a part of like small town living.

00:10:50

1,000%. I'm definitely feeling the benefits of small town living over here with my Instacart.

00:10:55

Hallmark movie.

00:10:55

Like, I love Instacart.

00:10:57

Hallmark movie. She leaves the big city and she falls in love with her Instacart driver.

00:11:01

I love it. I love it.

00:11:02

I'm so glad. Yeah. Thank you for that sweet anecdote. Yeah.

00:11:05

It's like something I've noticed there. I like, I feel like, I feel like whatever I'm giving them is not enough. Like I'm, I, they're just like, they're so, they care about me so much. That's really how I feel.

00:11:13

And you feel like you're getting all your items exactly As you wanted.

00:11:16

And if I'm not, I know about it. Like sometimes in New York you order an Instacart and you open it, you're like, oh, this is someone else's order. But it's like, no, they just kind of like took liberties. Sometimes they don't even tell you that they're doing replacements. Yeah. I'm telling you, let me just chat with, cuz I have like kind of an order going in right now with my friend. Oh, he's headed. Okay, we're all good.

00:11:30

Once I place the order, I don't check the app again.

00:11:33

So that's your mistake?

00:11:34

No, no, I don't have notifications on for the Instacart. Like, and that, so whatever will be will be.

00:11:39

You're kind of like a nightmare customer. A little bit.

00:11:41

But I'm also like, but I then don't complain if I didn't get it.

00:11:44

Right, right.

00:11:44

And then I saw that he tried to chat to me.

00:11:45

Right, right.

00:11:45

He tried to chat to you.

00:11:46

He tried to chat to me. Yeah, no, one thing about me, I'm very open to being pulled for chats because I like want what I want. I'm very specific.

00:11:55

I don't even have Instacart notifications on, so I wouldn't even know.

00:11:59

That's insane.

00:11:59

Unless I'm like drilled in being like, I need this sour cream.

00:12:02

Right, this one specific— right, I'm very specific. Like, you can't just get me like yogurt. Like, I need the one yogurt that I will eat. So I kind of have to be glued to my phone, and that's where like my whole mission to become more mysterious gets a little dicey because I'm like chatting with my Instacart shopper.

00:12:18

All day long.

00:12:19

Yeah.

00:12:19

So did you get what you need?

00:12:21

Everything.

00:12:22

What did you need?

00:12:23

Food, snacks. I got chocolate-covered pretzels.

00:12:25

Oh yum.

00:12:26

Things for Phu, of course, um, because it's never really about me, it's just about him. Um, and you know, things just to survive.

00:12:32

Yum. I'm hungry. Did you have breakfast?

00:12:34

Always. I did have breakfast, but I feel that that doesn't have a bearing on the level of hunger. Like 'Cause like yesterday we sat down for lunch and we were so hungry and we were like, this is the first thing we've eaten all day. Like I did have like a breakfast and a half, but I feel that that's not an indicator of how hungry I was, you know?

00:12:50

Yeah. You don't need an excuse. I'm just wondering like what you had for—

00:12:53

I had a bagel.

00:12:54

Breakfast. Yum.

00:12:55

Yeah, it was okay.

00:12:57

Okay.

00:12:58

Yeah.

00:12:58

We're not known for our bagels here.

00:13:00

You're not, but you are known for your Instacart shoppers.

00:13:03

You can't have it all.

00:13:04

You can't.

00:13:05

Without further ado, it is time for the Fast Five stories that you need to know.

00:13:10

And the Fast Five stories that you need to know are brought to you by Fashion Pass. We have been Fashion Pass girlies for years. In case you don't remember, it is a clothing rental service that actually has cute clothes. It's a very groundbreaking service. Um, if you know other clothing rental services, you know it can be so hard to find either clothes that are in stock or clothes that aren't fugly. Um, with Fashion Pass, you will not have that problem. The clothes come in like-new condition. It feels like you're shopping on your favorite retail site. It's a Toaster-owned, Toaster-run website, which we absolutely love. And they have party brands like literally brands that you would shop at a store right now. Farm Rio, Show Me Your MooMoo, For Love and Lemons, Free People. They also have tons of new arrivals for fall that we are obsessed with. It's a great way to shop economically. It's a great way to keep a wardrobe, um, kind of cycle through so you're not wearing the same sweater 2 days in a row. And without, you know, breaking the bank or without busting open your closet. So the best part is that you get 10 items a month for $125.

00:13:59

It's 2 shipments of 5 items each. You could swap out your picks and you're not stuck with the same items all month long. So you don't have to basically plan your life a month in advance 'cause we're just not doing that. So it's literally $12.50 an item. if you do the math, which is really crazy. Not to mention, it's also just a better deal than any other rental service out there. And in my opinion, they have the best clothes, like clothes that you would shop online right now. So head to fashionpass.com. Our code TOAST will get you your first month of Fashion Pass for just $49. It's the best discount out there, so all of our fellow Cardboard Kojis and of course everyone else can start renting. Head to fashionpass.com. The code is T-O-A-S-T to get your first month of Fashion Pass for just $49. Today's episode is also brought to you by Rowback. The air is starting to feel like fall, which means we officially entered the phase of the year where we wanna be more comfortable at all times, but we also don't want to look like we've completely given up on life.

00:14:42

And that's where Roback's new Aspire sets come in. It's a matching half-zip sweatshirt and pants that are so, so dangerously soft. It's the kind of soft where you put them on and suddenly every other pair of pants you own feels really aggressive. So the pants have a very cute stripe detail down the leg, very like Sue Sylvester but in a cool girl kind of way. Sue Sylvester meets like Kendall Jenner. Um, it gives them a really bit like a retro '90s feel that Roback does really well. It makes the whole set feel a lot more styled and elevated. And they also have a shorts version of the Aspire set. They did it this spring, it sold out in a week, so everyone's obsessed with it. And now they're coming out with like a colder version. which we appreciate because the colder weather is upon us. Thank God, sweater weather. Now that they made the fall version, it's exactly what we want to wear right now. The half zip is very cute and flattering, the pants are very comfortable, and the whole thing gives you a very specific look of like, yes, I'm wearing sweats, but they're nice sweats.

00:15:25

You can wear the full set to run errands, grab coffee, or just the perfect travel outfit. They both obviously work separately. You can just wear the half zip or the sweater on their own. Like, you could put the half zip with jeans, or like the pants with a t-shirt or sweater. It's very easy, low effort, but still very chic. So we're loving everything. Um, fall from Rhoback. We love Rhoback. We love their Bedford Mock Neck. If you're into like your active era, they have great biker shorts, great sports bras, great sets. Use code TOAST on Rhoback for a generous 20% off your first order through the end of this week. That's rhoback.com. The code is TOAST. Today's episode is also brought to you by Parallel. So Parallel is a great brand for women. We love them. We use a lot of their products. And I think if you are into Supplements, or if you're into vitamins or prenatals, then you know about the folic acid problem, which is a cheap synthetic form of folic acid that most drugstore prenatals use, the one type of cheap even cardboard Koji would not recommend. Your body basically has to convert that folic acid to folate before it can actually use it, and a lot of people are born with this thing called the MTHFR variant, like 60% of women.

00:16:32

That conversion basically doesn't happen, so you could be taking a prenatal every single day and not be getting the folate that you need, and folate is so important. Especially in pregnancy. So Parallel uses methylfolate, which is an already active form of folate. There's no conversion required, there's no gene roulette, it's just the form your body can use. So literally 100% of people can take it. Why it matters is because folate is one of the most talked about nutrients in pregnancy for a reason. It's really foundational for early development. It's not like a nice-to-have upgrade thing, it's really like a fundamental thing that you need. And Parallel is helping everyone. It was also just a brand that's engineered by an OB-GYN. They have a panel of maternal fetal medicine doctors. It's the exact type of gap that they built the brand brand to clothes. So all of their products for women are just like really Pargy. Jackie takes, um, their electrolytes. I take their prenatals. It's really a great brand. Um, and their prenatal is actually billed by trimester, which I like. So if you're pregnant, trying, or postpartum, check out Parallel. And we have an exclusive code where new customers can use code TOAST to get 20% off their first order at parallelhealth.com/toast. That's P-E-R-E-L-E-L health.com/toast. Today's episode is also brought to you by Squarespace, the all-in-one website platform designed to help you stand out and succeed online.

00:18:49

Thank you, Terp Maine.

00:18:50

You are most welcome.

00:18:51

Our first story, Travis and Jason Kelce are giving their candid reactions to Taylor Swift's new song Cleveland.

00:18:57

Oh.

00:18:58

As the Cleveland Boys.

00:18:59

I saw that Kyle Juszczyk was on this week's episode. I thought that's what you were talking about.

00:19:03

Oh, Kyle Juszczyk is on this week's episode. However, Travis and Jason, um, discussed the new track on their episode. They said Uh, Travis said, Cleveland is rocking right now.

00:19:15

He's such a dad.

00:19:16

He said, shout out to Tay Tay for making that song, just giving the city a little more life. Then Jason shared that he and Kylie have been rocking out around the house to the track. He said, that song is incredible. Kylie and I have been listening to it so much. There's just something about it that makes you feel real good. It's a great song.

00:19:32

Well, that must be nice for Kylie and Tra— and, um, Jason to be able to listen to a song about Travis that's not about his penis.

00:19:37

Mm-hmm.

00:19:38

Um, I imagine they couldn't rock out around the house to Wood, so this is great for them and the family. I—

00:19:43

which she did, she like made that her Instagram bio and like—

00:19:46

Yeah, like a Japanese—

00:19:48

Like a red, uh—

00:19:49

Yeah, making fun of like basically calling Jason's penis small.

00:19:52

Huge.

00:19:53

Oh.

00:19:54

I think she was calling it huge.

00:19:56

I thought she was calling it small.

00:19:57

Like a huge oak tree.

00:19:59

Oh, I mean, that joke went over my head, but okay.

00:20:02

Right?

00:20:02

What kind of Is that still her bio?

00:20:05

It was. Definitely not.

00:20:07

Because what kind of tree did Taylor describe Travis's penis as? Kylie Kelce.

00:20:13

Let's get to the bottom.

00:20:14

Oh, big fan of Japanese maples. Yeah, I feel like a Japanese maple is really small.

00:20:18

I don't think so.

00:20:19

Japanese maple tree. Let's see. Yeah, it's like a bonsai. Oh, well, I'm seeing mixed signals, like in terms of a picture. I know, I think they're big.

00:20:28

It's a small, slow-growing ornamental tree.

00:20:30

Funny, funny. Famous for its delicate leaves.

00:20:36

hand-shaped leaves in brilliant seasonal colors.

00:20:38

That is funny. And it's still her bio. I like that.

00:20:41

That is funny, but so random.

00:20:44

Yeah. But okay, I'm glad. Like, that's really funny.

00:20:47

So they did get in on the wood pun.

00:20:48

On the wood joke. But I don't think that they could like stream it, you know, as much as their heart's desire.

00:20:53

Yeah. But Cleveland is cute.

00:20:54

It must be fun to be like from such a random place like Cleveland. Like, that's so random. It's just not like, you know, New York, LA, Chicago, Boston. And like now there's like a Taylor Swift song about it. Like if— and they're so proud of where they're from.

00:21:05

That's supposed to be exciting.

00:21:05

Cleveland Heights.

00:21:06

I do feel like Cleveland people are happy people.

00:21:10

I agree.

00:21:11

As we discussed in Liz Lemon, like—

00:21:13

Yes, right.

00:21:14

The best episode of Liz Lemon.

00:21:15

When you're having a Cleveland day.

00:21:16

When I'm having Cleveland day. Like Lemon, everyone wants to move to Cleveland.

00:21:19

But then in the episode where Lemon actually does move to Cleveland, it's not all it's cracked up to be, 'cause she kind of yearns to be like a miserable New Yorker, which I totally relate to.

00:21:27

Yeah. Yeah. Cleveland has a lot of lore, all's to say.

00:21:30

I've been to Cleveland.

00:21:32

Have I? In my mind, I have. In my dreams.

00:21:36

Yeah, but I actually have in the real world, which is cool.

00:21:38

And what did you find?

00:21:39

So I was in Columbus, Ohio, and I think I was also in Cleveland. Yeah, I found it to be extremely charming.

00:21:46

The land of the cleave.

00:21:48

Yeah, I did a couple of shows and I remember thinking it's a nice place.

00:21:52

You could live there.

00:21:53

I pretty much liked everywhere that I went. Yeah, it's not like I went somewhere and like literally hated it. Let me think.

00:22:01

I don't wanna start with you people.

00:22:05

Oh, I did not enjoy my time in the Pacific Northwest. Thank you so much. Let's actually, I did like Seattle. Like I, I see, I didn't wanna live there.

00:22:12

So Elwood's of you.

00:22:13

I didn't wanna live there, but I saw like why it has like lore and, and hype and it was cool. Like, yeah, Portland was definitely the only place I went to where not only did I not wanna live there, I never wanted to return. And I know that we have listeners in Portland and that must be difficult for you to hear, but I do feel that that must be difficult. for you, period. I do feel that people from Portland, specifically people who listen to the show, like, they know, they know that they're in trouble. And I ended up near the, um, what's— what was it called? The CHAZ?

00:22:43

Yeah, or was it CHOP?

00:22:45

No, I know it ended in a Z because it was something something zone.

00:22:48

CHAZ. There was 2 zones in the PNW at one point.

00:22:51

Yeah, it's like a very politically active climate, and I think a lot of— I think a lot of the, um, It's a politically active quiet. Yeah, it is. And I think a lot of people who live there are really passionate about random, not random, different. And so when I was there, there was a trend of people, it was like anti-authority establishment. So they sort of moved onto the streets and created these lawlessness zones. Safe to say I really got outta there as quickly as I could. Um, but yeah, they wanted me to be their mayor in the CHAZ, and I said, guys, I can't. Obviously, I, I like the establishment. Well, I have my problems with it, of course, but—

00:23:33

But you want to live within the frame.

00:23:34

But I like the rules. Yeah, I like the framework. Exactly. I'm sort of like a framework type of gal. That's where we sort of differed.

00:23:40

Understood. Peacefully.

00:23:42

But that is the only place I went and didn't like.

00:23:44

Okay.

00:23:44

Yeah.

00:23:45

That's how I remember it.

00:23:46

No, you're right. Thank you for reminding me. I can't believe I went to Portland. Like, that's insane.

00:23:50

That's insane.

00:23:51

And it was like, it was a long trip because I did Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver. You did a leg. I did a leg, yeah. And so I was not home for a really long time. Um, and it started in Portland. It went Portland, Seattle, Vancouver.

00:24:02

Started Port—

00:24:02

I'm sorry, it also started in LA. That's where the leg— yeah, the leg began.

00:24:07

Other places in California?

00:24:09

Definitely. I can't remember.

00:24:10

Definitely. It's a big state.

00:24:11

I don't remember.

00:24:12

San Francisco?

00:24:12

I did San Francisco and San Diego, but I think that might have been a separate trip.

00:24:15

Got it, got it.

00:24:16

Yeah.

00:24:17

Um, also say The Clevelandites are liking Cleveland.

00:24:21

Well, that's good 'cause the song is pretty much like for you.

00:24:23

Oh, you guys, I have an update. Like Babylon is my favorite song maybe ever.

00:24:27

Yeah, I know.

00:24:28

And I think I listened to it in the car 7 times yesterday.

00:24:31

Me too. And then this morning I listened like—

00:24:34

I'm trying not to listen to it on repeat one because I don't want to—

00:24:36

Then you'll start to hate it. Yeah.

00:24:37

But I love it. I love it.

00:24:41

It got me on like a Taylor Swift vault track kick.

00:24:44

Mm-hmm.

00:24:44

This morning I did all of 1989, which is seriously like some of the best music ever made. I do that all the time. It's insane. And then I had forgotten about the vault track that like is so beautiful. When Emma Falls in Love, is that what it's called? Yeah, about Emma Stone. Like that song is so, if somebody ever wrote a song like that about me, I would die. I feel like Emma Stone like doesn't talk about it enough 'cause if that were me, like I would not stop talking about it.

00:25:09

Yeah, I don't even know if I know that one.

00:25:11

Emma met a boy with eyes like a man. Turns out the world fits right in the palm of his hand. It's about Andrew Garfield and her, which like obviously, Maybe that's why she doesn't talk about it as much as I would.

00:25:22

Right, right.

00:25:23

'Cause it's like this heartbreak, but it's the sweetest song. It's like literally the nicest things you could say about someone all in a song.

00:25:28

That's so nice.

00:25:28

Yeah.

00:25:29

I listened to a little TTPD after because I was just trying to like get the vibes.

00:25:34

Mm-hmm. Babylon is very TTPD.

00:25:36

Um, and I do feel like it sounds so familiar. I'm trying to like figure out which song, but they all sound really familiar.

00:25:41

Yes.

00:25:42

Like all your favorite artists have a sound, you know?

00:25:44

Of course.

00:25:44

Like all the Eagles songs sound the same. Just noise.

00:25:47

Absolutely.

00:25:48

All John Mayer songs are like sounding the same. John Mayer at the spa. Sphere. We're talking about it. We're talking about it. Like, we kind of want to go to Las Vegas. I mean, you know I love Vegas.

00:25:58

I've been planting seeds, like, within the family. Olivia was, like, extremely down. Your husband was so down. He's been wanting to see The Wizard of Oz at the Sphere. So I'm like, okay, I'll go with you to that if you come with me. Um, like, I, I think unfortunately—

00:26:07

I'm always down.

00:26:08

Yeah, I wasn't worried about it.

00:26:09

I stay with a bag packed for Vegas.

00:26:11

But it's like, it's gonna be a big thing. Like, I think we all kind of need to start planning now. Like, I really want to go, even though I feel like I would get dizzy in the Sphere.

00:26:18

Me for sure.

00:26:20

Yeah, look, I don't think you can go.

00:26:21

I won't, I'll babysit.

00:26:22

Yeah, okay, fine.

00:26:23

Yeah, yeah, no, that's perfect. I don't want to go to the Sphere, I want to go to Vegas.

00:26:26

Yeah, right, okay.

00:26:28

Viva Las Vegas, viva Las Vegas.

00:26:35

Vegas would be like a good theme for Dancing with the Stars, like Vegas night, better than yacht rock. I also think last night's episode was boring because like the music was not compelling. I knew most of the songs, but yacht rock is supposed to be like background music. Like, it was not vibey, it wasn't hyping me up at all.

00:26:48

Put a pin in it. I'm not responding to those charges.

00:26:52

Oh my God.

00:26:53

Okay. Because it's only—

00:26:53

Just made it the first 2. And I, I, how about this? 'Cause like this is supposed to be an equal partnership. How about next week we try it first?

00:26:59

Number 1?

00:26:59

Yeah.

00:27:00

Okay.

00:27:00

Okay.

00:27:01

Sure.

00:27:01

Someone remind us next week.

00:27:02

Our next story, Verity premiered in New York last night. Anne Hathaway pregnant on the carpet, Dakota Johnson and more.

00:27:10

I really feel bad for Anne Hathaway. Like I know she's doing this all by choice, but like I really want her to lay down.

00:27:17

Yeah, it's getting to a point, you know.

00:27:18

I actually saw an amazing clip of her.

00:27:20

Which one?

00:27:21

Someone was like, how are you? Like, are you okay? Like, you look— and she was like, I'm completely fine. Like, there are a lot of pregnant women who like don't get their nails done in their hotel room this morning that the studio paid for. She was like, I'm completely fine, stop worrying about me. And I was like, oh, okay.

00:27:34

Worry about the pregnant traffic cops.

00:27:36

Yeah, exactly. So that's exactly what she was saying, the pregnant traffic cops. She did not want one ounce of like— but even though like I just still feel for her, like I know she's tired. Mostly because obviously like being a traffic cop or like it's not a physically laborious job that she does, but like those dresses, the corsets, the undergarments, the shoes.

00:27:51

And nobody feels sorry for you.

00:27:52

Correct. Because you're like, uh, an actress.

00:27:55

Yeah. But I think, I think if she didn't want to go, like she doesn't have to go to everything. So I feel like—

00:28:01

She does have to go to the Verity premiere.

00:28:04

She's Anne Hathaway. Yeah.

00:28:07

How far along do you think she is? She like looks full term.

00:28:09

Yeah.

00:28:10

Like, I think it's gonna be a few weeks.

00:28:12

I think so.

00:28:13

She looks great. She's—

00:28:15

She does. And what's crazy is like in this movie, her and Dakota are twins, right? That's the point. But like now Dakota's Taylor's twin.

00:28:21

Yeah, I know.

00:28:21

So are Anne Hathaway and Taylor twins?

00:28:23

No.

00:28:24

That's confusing.

00:28:25

I know.

00:28:26

Dakota has a lot of twins. Maybe she's the chameleon.

00:28:28

I think that I'm like so ripe to see Verity. One, 'cause I read the book and loved it. But two, like I sort of, I remember like the framework of the book. I know there's like a big twist at the end, but like, I don't really remember. Like, is she awake? Like, I don't remember 100%. Is Dakota Johnson like going crazy? I don't know. So I'm sat for the, for the cinematic premiere.

00:28:49

Yeah, and I do think it will be like Gone Girl when the book was so amazing. No, no, in terms of the book was so amazing, like broke records, everything. Verity is like literally the biggest book ever, and then the movie was amazing and won awards and everything. And I think that could happen here.

00:29:06

Yeah, Dakota Johnson like does have like a bad picker for films. Like, I would say that not every movie she chooses is guaranteed to be a good one. Anne Hathaway though, like pretty much does guarantee that.

00:29:17

No flops.

00:29:18

No flops. So—

00:29:19

No flops to speak of.

00:29:20

I can't really speak to like Josh Hartnett's discography because I've only seen Pearl Harbor and that was like actually 30 years ago.

00:29:25

But it was a good one.

00:29:27

Great one. I feel confident because of Anne Hathaway, but I'm a little doubtful of like Madame Web. Remember that?

00:29:33

Okay, but for every Madame Web, there's How to Be Single. You love that movie.

00:29:37

I fucking love that movie. And that's like why I know and like Dakota Johnson, because I never saw Fifty Shades.

00:29:42

And Fifty Shades is a good— it's definitely a script you say yes to every time. They just did a bad job because they hated each other, and it was like not ship-worthy for the biggest romance ever.

00:29:53

Yeah, and it was supposed to be someone else, right? Not him. Charlie Hunnam.

00:29:57

Yeah, I think they were both miscast.

00:29:59

Well, it is— I hate to, you know, go down my rabbit hole, but it is really crazy that Dakota Johnson got that role. Never acted a day in her life, nobody ever heard of her, 2 like megastar parents, gets the big— it didn't end up being like what Twilight was, but it was supposed to be like this enorm— it was pretty successful, but it was supposed to be this like culture-shifting—

00:30:17

It was super successful, but for some reason like it just doesn't stick.

00:30:21

Well, eMovie We Love, they are paying their bills. They love that movie. It is always on e—

00:30:26

They say they love it. Maybe it was just cheap rice lights.

00:30:29

1000%. Any like clip I've seen of it, it's because it was on eMovies We Love.

00:30:33

Yeah. Okay, next story. We actually are talking about this again because new details have emerged. I've been sent this 1000 times.

00:30:39

Uh, I have been sent this, send this to Jackie.

00:30:42

So, just so you guys know, I've seen this. Dove Cameron's wedding was officiated by Kenny Ortega, who is the greatest director of our time and the director of Descendants.

00:30:51

Friendship.

00:30:52

And obviously a close personal friend, and I would say mentor of Dubbs.

00:30:55

And I know you sort of historically dislike when people have like non-religious figures or non—

00:31:03

Like authority figures.

00:31:04

Authority figures, non-serious figures, celebrities. I know you didn't like when Adam Sandler did Taylor's wedding. This is like a pet peeve of yours.

00:31:10

Yes.

00:31:10

So how do you sort of grapple with the pet peeve and your 2 favorite people?

00:31:14

I would say that Kenny Ortega is a religious figure and an authority figure, and he falls into like the few celebrities that I will accept as a wedding officiant.

00:31:25

Who else?

00:31:26

Andy Cohen.

00:31:27

Yeah.

00:31:27

Chris Harrison.

00:31:29

You're gonna say Kris Jenner.

00:31:30

I thought— I'm thinking about Kris Jenner, but it's too sticky. And like, let her just have a cocktail and sit in the back.

00:31:35

She doesn't wanna officiate your wedding.

00:31:37

She doesn't wanna officiate your wedding.

00:31:38

Yeah, that was important.

00:31:38

So I would say there are a couple like almost host-like people.

00:31:41

Yeah.

00:31:42

Who they host and that's their job. And so it doesn't bother me when they officiate a wedding. And I will put Kenny Ortega in that category cuz he's like a serious professional.

00:31:50

And I think— I don't know much about their relationship, but I would say he's probably like took a paternal role in her life, like as this young girl on the Disney Channel.

00:31:57

Yes. And of course, when you think of the Disney Channel and like child actors, you think negative, the worst. And it's so nice to see that of everyone in the world that she chose him, that even if she might have a complication— complicated relationship with her Disney past, yeah, she loves Kenny. Yeah.

00:32:14

And we don't even give— because we give Kenny a lot of credit, right? Like for creating actually like some of the most amazing pieces of art in our time. And what we don't give him enough credit for, 'cause like we shouldn't credit people for just like not being pedophiles, is like not a singular allegation.

00:32:28

Yeah.

00:32:28

Not a toxic workplace, not an inappropriate touch. Um, and I hate to, you know, pat someone on the back for not being like a criminal pedophile, but in this day and age—

00:32:38

It's a huge win.

00:32:39

To be like a huge figure in kids', he's basically like what Dan Schneider was to Nickelodeon. In children's entertainment and to not have like a singular sort of mark against you.

00:32:48

And I'll say beyond that, not even nothing, nothing against him on every movie that he's worked on and every project. That's not really where we've heard.

00:32:59

Yeah. It's not even like there's allegations around.

00:33:01

We're perceived as in hire bad people.

00:33:03

Yeah.

00:33:03

As far as we know, in everything that we've heard, like High School Musical, we've not heard bad things about Descendants. Have not heard Dirty Dancing. Dirty Dancing. I think there's a couple other things people are always sending me that he directed.

00:33:16

It's that time of year where we pull up Kenny Ortega's IMDb to see what else besides High School Musical he has done.

00:33:22

I think he did, um, like Michael Jackson's tour.

00:33:26

Okay, like that's not really where he—

00:33:27

And you know what, that sort of goes against like what we just said.

00:33:30

Oh, that is really true, Jackie.

00:33:33

But you know what, I just don't want to like go down that path. Hocus Pocus.

00:33:37

Descendants. Oh, your favorite show, My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. He directed one episode.

00:33:44

I like—

00:33:44

who remembers Bunheads?

00:33:46

I remember it, I didn't watch it. Cheetah Girls.

00:33:49

We're Cheetah Girls, Cheetah Sisters.

00:33:52

Hannah Montana: Best of Both Worlds concert.

00:33:54

Oh my God, he also directed 12 episodes of Gilmore Girls. Ally McBeal.

00:33:58

Like, where is his Lifetime Achievement Award?

00:34:00

He definitely has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, right?

00:34:03

He did Rocky Horror Picture Show.

00:34:06

He did a lot of Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton like specials made for TV. He's like literally the— him and Jane Lynch should get married. The hardest working man and woman in Hollywood.

00:34:15

Yeah, and to know that like all's well. And Dove is so like alt now. So like— and Kenny's kind of corny.

00:34:21

Yeah.

00:34:23

And that she still chose him.

00:34:24

Her mainstream king.

00:34:25

Her mainstream Maine skin king.

00:34:27

What do you think the Maine skin guy and Kenny like got to chatting about?

00:34:30

I think the love of music.

00:34:33

It's true. It's sort of a universal language.

00:34:34

And you know what, Eurovision is very Kenny-coded.

00:34:38

1,000%.

00:34:38

So it's much—

00:34:39

even though like Måneskin's aesthetic like within Eurovision wasn't—

00:34:42

1,000%. You— but you still went on Eurovision.

00:34:45

It's true.

00:34:45

Like, it's just like Dove is Descendants, you are— and maybe they— that connects them. Like, oh, we have this like corny thing in our past, right? But we're—

00:34:52

it was a beautiful wedding.

00:34:53

It was.

00:34:54

She looked great.

00:34:54

And I just— I thought that was really beautiful. And you can mark me as having known, now knowing that. Yes.

00:35:01

And I've been meaning to bring this up because like a lot of people want to get to you, um, through me, especially like people— because, you know, I don't know if I mentioned this yesterday, I have 400,000 followers on TikTok. And so they'll like tag me, send this to Jackie.

00:35:14

They send you stuff on TikTok? I'm sorry that's happening.

00:35:16

And the thing is, is like I've probably already shown it to her. And 2, like, I'm just not doing that. I'm like very lazy. So I feel that That Jackie's— that's why I'm saying like I'm too accessible, I'm too reachable. I need you guys to start just like sending that shit straight to Jackie.

00:35:34

Yeah, but don't like send me a link to a TikTok because the link doesn't populate in Instagram and then you just—

00:35:39

There's no good way to send someone a TikTok.

00:35:40

Then you just send me a bunch of letters.

00:35:42

There's no way to send someone a TikTok who's not like in the app. So I understand like why people are doing it.

00:35:45

And you must—

00:35:46

it's frustrating. My phone was blowing up last night. I was like, oh, I'm going viral, let's go! Everyone's probably talking about how beautiful and skinny I am. Send this to Jackie, girl, I already did.

00:35:55

Like, and I, and I've seen it on Reels. Yeah. If it's on TikTok, it's probably on Reels, so find it there and send it to me.

00:36:01

Or it will be in like in due time.

00:36:03

That's— Reels is keeping up these days.

00:36:05

I would say there's a few days delay. It used to be like actual weeks.

00:36:08

Well, I don't even know what you're talking— like, what are you talking about, days delay? Like viral videos?

00:36:13

Yeah, like sometimes you'll send me like a funny, like, you know, mom— mommahood.

00:36:17

Yeah.

00:36:17

And it's like, I did see it a few days ago.

00:36:19

Okay, fair.

00:36:20

But it's also not fair because I see everything. Ben shows me a video, I'm like, I've seen it. Like, I am disgusting brain rot. Like, Ben, every time— sometimes I'll just say I've seen it because I don't want to watch whatever videos he's showing me, but like, for the most part, I have seen it. And he looks at me, he's like, you're crazy, like, how have you seen that? He's like, it's only an hour old. I'm like, I saw it an hour ago.

00:36:38

That's funny.

00:36:39

Yeah, I'm like a garbage receptacle for content.

00:36:42

But maybe that should be part of your, like, less available, um, yeah, campaign to be less available.

00:36:48

It would just be more helpful, like, if I was genuinely less available, you know? But I'm not.

00:36:54

Yeah.

00:36:54

I'm just always available.

00:36:57

Ready, willing, and able.

00:36:58

I'm willing and able. Oh, there goes my voice again. I heard a lot of, um, like a lot of people explaining to me like why your singing voice becomes bad. One, like your lungs are compressed just due to all the things going on in your body. 2, of course there's like a hormone that comes for your singing voice.

00:37:13

Relax.

00:37:14

It's the same way like my laughing voice changes.

00:37:16

Yeah.

00:37:17

Just dealing with a lot.

00:37:19

Yeah, good thing it's not your trade. Imagine you were like on a tour.

00:37:23

Yeah, and actually now's the perfect time to bring up Kelly Clarkson singing Piece by Piece on American Idol, 9 months pregnant. Very impressive that she was able to do that.

00:37:30

Mm-hmm.

00:37:30

Very impressive.

00:37:32

Are you ready for our 4th story?

00:37:34

Mm-hmm.

00:37:35

Mauricio Umansky reveals he's considering running for mayor of Los Angeles as an independent.

00:37:42

Okay.

00:37:43

Mauricio Umansky joined, what was he on? Live with Kelly and Mark and said, I'm considering— That was an interesting get for him.

00:37:50

I'm like, who is Mauricio Yemansky to Kelly Ripa?

00:37:54

He just does a little bit of everything. He's on Special Forces.

00:37:57

Oh, that's why. Okay, thank you.

00:37:58

So then he's on Kelly and Mark and said, I'm considering running for mayor of Los Angeles. He says he's a registered independent and hopes to bring businesses back to LA. He said, we need to take care of our people. There's so many things to do in LA. It's one of the greatest cities in the world without question. It's a huge metropolis and we need to take care of it. We need to take care of crime. We need to take care of homelessness. We need to do all that stuff, but we need to bring business back. And I think if we're able to bring business back, We're able to, you know, do the rest. Has he been here for the last year?

00:38:24

Well, the thing is, is obviously, Marissa Yonemansky, you're extremely hot and Jewish. You have my vote. But I feel that you're not really paying attention because many have come and gone to try and do exactly what you said— business. I think the people in LA, like, like the homelessness. They like the crime.

00:38:41

They like the status quo.

00:38:42

They like their people like Karen Bassett.

00:38:44

Spencer tried to save them. them. Rick Caruso, he spent $40 million of his own dollars. Mauricio, don't do this.

00:38:51

Like, seriously, don't bother, because then, like, then you just become like a political figure. You're very divisive either way. Like, people love you and hate you. And it's like, you come from a franchise where, like, even though you haven't even behaved well, like, people love you. Like, why would you give up that sort of adoration to get into politics just to lose?

00:39:04

Just to be honest about that, like, don't waste your money. You're not going to win. Yeah, but nobody could have run a better campaign than Spencer Pratt.

00:39:10

It's true, he had a lot of, like, wind behind him. He went on Joe Rogan.

00:39:13

Like, no, but not Like people are saying the way he ran his campaign, like will actually change the way, uh, political campaigns are run. Like from, like with AI and everything. And like he had everything at his back. He had so many like endorsements from people across the aisle and really came at it from like just a, a, an anti-communist point of view.

00:39:33

A very like, um, earnest play, if you will.

00:39:35

I really don't know what could have been done better than the way that he did it. So, and Rick Caruso as well is also like a huge figure.

00:39:43

Gwyneth Paltrow endorsed, like lots of big people.

00:39:45

A lot of celebrities. I saw celebrities both who are known to be like Democrats and Republicans. So it's like not even about that. Why would you waste your time and your money doing this when it's already done?

00:39:54

It's true. And I also feel that Mauricio actually has like a lot of opportunity outside of being like a very successful real estate mogul, which he is. He has that Netflix show, he does a little bit of Housewives, he's now on Special Forces. It's like, why is that not enough?

00:40:06

And he has a huge business.

00:40:08

Huge family too.

00:40:09

Yeah. No, but sink your money into this.

00:40:12

Yeah, like bad idea.

00:40:14

Seriously.

00:40:14

I feel like he's like soft launching it.

00:40:16

Like, do not come.

00:40:18

Do not come.

00:40:20

Yeah. He said, if I do it, it'd have to be for the next race and start prepping for it and start prepping my business for it, start prepping my life for it. And then you run. Seriously, don't.

00:40:28

Do not.

00:40:29

Like we, I think I've seen this film before. It's true. And I didn't like the ending.

00:40:33

It's true.

00:40:33

Like, and I've given up.

00:40:35

Even though like outside of that, like Mauricio, when we talk about like celebrities who go into politics, like, yeah, why not Mauricio Umansky? Like businessman to the stars.

00:40:43

Yeah, but no, another city.

00:40:44

Yeah, try Portland.

00:40:47

Try Portland.

00:40:48

Mauricio Umansky, we're having a, um, what's the word, protest? No, no, like a— when do you like have a campaign, like rally?

00:40:59

Yeah.

00:41:00

We're having a campaign fundraising rally event for Mauricio Umansky at the Chaz in Portland. Let me know if you guys can come.

00:41:05

You'll definitely win.

00:41:06

Let me know if you guys can come.

00:41:07

00:46:42

You're welcome.

00:46:44

Our 5th and final story, Dancing with the Stars recap. Last night was Yacht Rock Night.

00:46:49

Bad theme.

00:46:50

Um, but it was all like presented by a sponsor.

00:46:53

Oh, what was with the mocktails?

00:46:55

Yeah, and there was like a sponsor floating around the episode, so I feel like it was like meant to tie in this sponsor, but it should have been like Carnival Cruises.

00:47:03

Yeah, but I just feel like the level of like sponsorship integrations is like really not premium. Do you know what I mean? one of the most watched shows on TV, like even the Paris Baguette stuff, like it just feels so branded. And Julianne like shoving a cocktail in everyone's face, like it was just weird.

00:47:17

Yeah, I don't know what the mocktails were about.

00:47:19

Me neither.

00:47:20

I don't wanna drink something blue.

00:47:22

No, especially they're all like out of breath, sweating. They said this blue Curaçao, I'm good. So I didn't like the theme and I felt like I was kind of bored by the episode because of the music. Like, no Pussy Poppers, you know?

00:47:37

I don't know, I don't like yacht rock, but like, I don't mind it.

00:47:39

Is that your genre of choice?

00:47:40

No, I don't mind it. I think that's the point.

00:47:42

I kind of minded it. Yeah, that's the point of yacht rock. It's background music.

00:47:44

It's just like pleasant music. You sort of know the tune. Everyone, we're on a yacht and we're rocking out.

00:47:49

For me, it was like hard for anyone to have like a big moment 'cause like there wasn't like big music.

00:47:53

Well, let's get into the dances. First, we had Amber Glenn with Pasha Pashkov. They did really well and they got a 24 and they just like do nothing for me. I guess she like broke his nose.

00:48:04

Oh, that was crazy. That happens sometimes where like you injure the pro and like seriously, name a worse feeling.

00:48:09

feel like he was really mad.

00:48:11

I get the vibe like he's not there. You could tell when, like, I feel like Britt and Taylor, um, Hansen like really loved each other. They had like a real friendship connection. I feel like Pasha and Amber are like just partners.

00:48:21

Yeah.

00:48:21

Like, that's it. I don't think they hate each other. I don't think they have a singular connection.

00:48:25

Great friendship.

00:48:25

Yeah. So when he got his nose broke by her, he was like, uh, okay.

00:48:29

And she felt so bad because it was so awkward.

00:48:31

I felt like I wasn't even there and I felt so awkward.

00:48:34

Yeah, I was like, I'd rather I'd rather like break my own nose than—

00:48:37

Yeah, have to do that.

00:48:38

Not participate and like feel so bad.

00:48:39

Now I loop her in with like Harry Shem Jr. and Jenna Dewan about like people who are doing so good and make me feel nothing. Actually, spoiler alert, I won't say who, somebody from that group actually really impressed me last night. So we'll talk about that shortly. But Amber Glenn, like, great, you did an amazing job. I don't care.

00:48:52

Next, Julia Stiles with Ezra Sosa. They did a salsa. I thought she was amazing.

00:48:59

Yeah, well, she had a lot to prove.

00:49:01

Yeah.

00:49:02

because she had like a bad week last week, um, and fighting an injury. And she did really good.

00:49:07

Yeah. What's also interesting to me, I was looking it up, so I was saying how like Julia Stiles is similar to Tatiana Ali, how they're like, you know, former TV stars who are now in their 40s. And Jenna Dewan is the same age as them, and she's also like a former, you know, iconic movie that's now like in her 40s dancing. And it's actually interesting that they cast 3 women who are essentially like the same archetype.

00:49:26

That's what I'm saying. I thought you were gonna say like 3 women in their 40s, 'cause like once you turn 40 in Hollywood, there's no jobs for you. And that's what I was saying about like inclusivity on this show. It's not corny, it's not performative. Like, yeah, there's 3 women in their 40s.

00:49:36

Like, how many women in their 40s? There's Guillermo and there's Ezra.

00:49:39

Like, how many people can say that?

00:49:41

Yeah.

00:49:42

How many TV shows can say that?

00:49:44

Yeah.

00:49:44

And it's not like being shoved down your face, like, we're being inclusive. Like, no, you just are.

00:49:47

No, I had to look up their agent.

00:49:48

Yeah, right.

00:49:49

Yeah.

00:49:49

Why do they keep introducing Jenna Dewan as the star of The Rookie? Like, like, we're supposed to know what that is.

00:49:53

That's their show. They're promoting The Rookie.

00:49:55

Yeah, because they keep saying, like, Harry Shum, star of Grey's Anatomy. Like, we know Grey's Anatomy. Star of The Rookie. I'm like, The Rookie?

00:50:00

They want Gilmore Girls?

00:50:01

Like, what is it?

00:50:02

They want us talking So there you go. Now they're gonna keep saying it because they got the Toast talking about the rookie.

00:50:06

Okay.

00:50:07

Then we have Guillermo and Whitney. Um, they did their foxtrot, they scored a 15. Guillermo made a declaration at the end that he is dancing for the people.

00:50:16

Which I appreciated because like, I'm really— they can skip— I know they're always short for time. Like, you can skip the judges' criteria of Guillermo. I'm not interested because it's not about the technicality. And maybe some people will say that's not fair. We are all working within like their limits. And I think for like what he's capable of, he's doing an amazing job and he's like leaning so much on his personality. I could not love him anymore. I texted Guillermo to 21523 before he even danced.

00:50:42

Oh, I wait till they dance, you know, but I texted 10 times. I want him to win the mirrorball. Like, I want him to be in the finals. And it's so nice 'cause I feel like up until Andy Richter, it's like if you got like the old slow dude, like, that stinks.

00:50:58

No, like you knew your season was going to be cut short.

00:51:01

It's just a bummer. But these 2 guys have really turned that on their heads where it's like, it's actually an advantage.

00:51:07

It's an opportunity.

00:51:07

Yeah, and they're getting by and doing less and it's like, you used to just be written off immediately, but now you're someone to contend with.

00:51:15

Yeah, if given the right pro who really showcases and the person is down to show up. People really liked Andy's packages, his personality was so funny.

00:51:22

Nobody knew him before.

00:51:23

Nobody knew him before. At least Jimmy Kimmel, the ABC people, they know Guillermo. It is an opportunity for a pro to do something with the person. So I feel like it also really speaks to like Whitney and Emma for like the TikToks and everything.

00:51:35

No, and it's like just because you have like the older, slower—

00:51:39

Gentleman.

00:51:40

Cast, man or woman, like it could actually be an advantage.

00:51:44

Yes, it can. It's exciting.

00:51:45

It is. Then we have Tatiana Ali and Jan Rovnik. They did amazing. They did. I felt like I watched a completely different person.

00:51:53

Well, first of all, she's like having that transformation. She looks insane. It's only 3 weeks. She literally is so toned One. Two, it was so amazing. I feel like they're best friends, like kind of unlikely duo, you know? I watch all of their social media, like they have the best time together. She's so good. I feel like she's just a person who was like a decent dancer, and she is the definition of this show. Like, she is getting better every week. I feel like by the end, if she continues to like be saved, she'll have like a major moment, like a dance. I love her.

00:52:19

Yeah.

00:52:19

And every time in her packages, she just like keeps opening up and being honest. Like, that's what I'm looking for.

00:52:23

Yeah.

00:52:24

I, I, not her being my favorite, I couldn't even, I might not have even been able to place her before the show was announced.

00:52:30

That's why it really is sort of an even playing field. Like just cuz you're the most famous, true. Cuz you're the most physically fit or the best dancer. Like it's so many other factors. And someone that I didn't even know before, mm-hmm, who's not the best dancer there, mm-hmm, is my favorite.

00:52:43

I love her.

00:52:44

Yeah. Then Harry Shum Jr. with Jenna Johnson, they performed a jive with hats and they got a 12.

00:52:52

24.

00:52:53

So you're making my dream come true. They acknowledged a little bit that they're getting hate. She said something to the effect of she feels like he's being penalized because he is already a dancer. And I don't know if that's— she's saying that like towards the judges or the audience, but like they are very much hated by the audience. Um, and it's not because you're a dancer, because now I wanted— I want, I want a Jordan Fisher. I'm looking for that. I want some good dancing. I don't like watching you dance.

00:53:20

Yeah, I'm so unmoved by everything they do. His packages bore me to tears. Um, even he brought Kurt Hummel to the, to the ballroom and like I barely moved, you know? I don't know what it is about them, cuz there's a lot of politics within the real inner circle of Dancing with the Stars about like Jenna and Val being like favorites and all the other pros hating them. Like, I don't care about any of that. That's not why I feel the way that I feel Like, I'm just bored.

00:53:48

Yeah. Oh, I don't— yeah, I'm not in— I'm a fan of Dancing with the Stars, but I'm not in like pro—

00:53:53

No, I guess like Britt has always said that like her dream partner is Harry Shum Jr.

00:53:57

Yeah, but then people clocked this, that when they were eliminated last night, Julianne thankfully said like that Taylor requested Britt as his partner and that's why they were partnered together. So maybe Britt had always wanted Harry, but they put him with Britt, so it wasn't a snub or or anything like that.

00:54:14

Yeah. And you know, I'm glad Brit didn't get Harry because like everyone's hating Harry, so she doesn't need hate.

00:54:18

But she's off the show.

00:54:19

Yeah, which we'll talk about.

00:54:21

Then we have Taylor Hansen and Brit Stewart.

00:54:23

So I saw people like so upset about this, like in disbelief, when it was like clear to me that he was the one going home. He not only like— he just wasn't getting better. And like somebody has to go home, do you know what I mean? And I feel like of the people who might have been in contention to go home, the people who have been consistently in the I'm like, everybody kind of stepped their pussies up last night except for him.

00:54:41

Yeah, I feel like there are a couple people who are on the edge of going home, and it's just a matter of like in which order.

00:54:46

Yes.

00:54:46

Based on scores.

00:54:47

And he was one of them.

00:54:48

He's one of them. I think Jackson Olsen is one of them. It kills me to say, I think Tyler Cameron is one of them.

00:54:53

Uh, no, not my king. He did so good last night.

00:54:55

I, I love him.

00:54:56

I know.

00:54:56

I thought he did great. He didn't get good scores.

00:54:58

And by the way, I thought his scores were so unfair.

00:55:00

His scores were insane. I thought he did great. He had like a very lovely—

00:55:03

They didn't put him in the bottom, which was I think like a win for him.

00:55:05

Which was shocking though, because he was like in the— I thought he was in the bottom last week. His scores were worse this week, and then they let him like go second.

00:55:11

The scoring was off last night because Tyler got like criminally low scores, and so did Tatiana. Like, she should have gotten 8s like Amber. She got 7s.

00:55:19

I don't think she should have gotten 8s.

00:55:20

I do.

00:55:21

I don't think she should have gotten 8s, and I don't think there was anything wrong with her score, but I feel like she was completely safe.

00:55:25

She had a good score compared to the rest of them.

00:55:28

Then Maura and Mark—

00:55:29

oh, she was great—

00:55:30

did a quick step. They got a 22. She's amazing. She's a joy to watch. And I feel like by the end we can maybe have a Jordan Fisher moment.

00:55:36

Yeah, she's a joy to watch. It's her package too. She's so funny. She's an amazing personality. She's so bubbly and smiley. Like, she's, she's made for this. And her and Mark are best friends. Like, I just love their packages. I love everything they do.

00:55:46

Yeah, it's really— she's a great fun dancer, and I feel like she has a style of her own.

00:55:51

Yes, you know, I agree.

00:55:52

She's like a little fairy floating on the dance floor. Yeah, it's really cute. Then Sierra Miller and Brandon Armstrong, they performed a cha-cha, and they scored an 18.

00:56:01

I don't really remember. I feel like her scores were low.

00:56:03

She was Karma Brown.

00:56:04

Oh, right, right, right, right, right. That's funny, like, for the fans.

00:56:06

Yeah.

00:56:07

Um, I feel like I was also thinking that I wish they had done a better job explaining Karma Brown. It was very inner circle, and it's like, the ABC people, like, this is such a big show. Bravo's like low-key, not small, but it's niche. And so I wish that they had explained like the lore a little bit better, 'cause it's really funny. And it was just like, what is this? Who's Karma?

00:56:22

But for those of us who know, like, we were happy to see her. Agreed.

00:56:25

It was great. It was great.

00:56:26

And I think Sierra loves being her and like a fun side of her comes out. And she, I was gonna say, she definitely like came out of her shell. She was like fun and confident. confident, and the dance like wasn't— there was room for improvement. Their scores weren't amazing.

00:56:38

Yeah.

00:56:39

But I feel like it was a good night for them in the sense that they weren't in the bottom and no one was worried about them going home.

00:56:45

And she's definitely improving, but I feel that like of the people that are improving, some people are just making like bigger leaps than her. But every week is better than the next, which is really all you can ask for.

00:56:52

Yeah, that to a certain point, and then it starts.

00:56:56

Yes, yes.

00:56:56

So there's still a lot of like people here that—

00:56:59

There's so many contestants that are gonna Like Jackson Olson and Emma Slater. Yeah, Jackson Olson has been like quietly disappointing. Yeah, you know, I feel like maybe he had a strong start and he's kind of like getting worse.

00:57:10

And the packages aren't packaging for me.

00:57:12

No, no. And I'm just—

00:57:14

he seems like a really nice guy and I'm not rooting against him.

00:57:16

No, me neither. I just thought he would be so much more dazzling. Like, he has so much performance experience, um, dancing and singing included. And I'm just like, every week it's like he stinks. Yeah, and that's not what I thought he was gonna be. I thought he really had like potential to go really far. They gotta turn it around.

00:57:32

I don't think they will. I think that like he's next.

00:57:35

Yeah, I think he's next too.

00:57:36

Then Connor Wood and Riley Arnold.

00:57:38

When I watch Connor, like I get nervous. Like this is like, I've actually met this person, you know? He did so good. Like I was actually so nervous for him, especially, yeah, last week. Like all about improvement. His hair is hilarious. He had great, like, um, he has great packages and great interviews. Like he really isn't, I think, very endearing to people. How like he wants this like very badly, but he doesn't take it too seriously. I thought he did a really good job.

00:57:59

I didn't find the dance was like amazing to watch, but it's good enough.

00:58:04

Yeah.

00:58:04

And hopefully when— by the time it needs to be amazing, I think he can get there because he's like very dedicated to learning and improving.

00:58:11

Yes.

00:58:11

He's like Jackson too, a little bit, but I think he's doing better than Jackson.

00:58:15

Yeah, except I think he's like naturally uncoordinated, whereas like Jackson is not.

00:58:20

Yeah, and he has the music in him.

00:58:22

Yeah, I think like Fibula had like a bigger hill to climb and he's climbing it, and like Jackson's like kind of going down.

00:58:26

Like, Jackson scored an 18 and Connor scored a 20, so Connor is like technically doing better.

00:58:30

Yeah, because I think it's, you know, scores based on your particular set of skills.

00:58:35

But I would say their abilities are the same based on now what I've seen.

00:58:38

I wouldn't. I wouldn't say like their backgrounds and like experience— like, no, I would, I would say that Connor— uh, excuse me, Jackson has a, a leg up, you would think.

00:58:46

But then how he showed up on day 1 versus—

00:58:50

I thought his day 1— I thought Connor's day 1— excuse Excuse me, Jackson's day 1 was like good enough, and like we would really—

00:58:55

Jackson Rod Stewart.

00:58:57

I thought we would like really see improvement with him, but we haven't.

00:59:01

No.

00:59:01

Whereas like Connor started like pretty like regular and he's getting better.

00:59:06

Yeah. Then we have Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy.

00:59:10

So I always say like Jenna Dewan is amazing and I don't care. I kind of cared last night. She was really good. I thought the critique from Carrie Ann about like doing too much, it's like, girl, this is Dancing with the Stars. It was like, it was just, it was kind of like mean and unnecessary. And I thought she was amazing. It was the first time I even like looked at her. I was like, oh yes, like slay mama.

00:59:27

I am starting to like pay attention now because of all the hate and stuff. So I'm like, now I really wanna see what it's all about. And she obviously has internalized the hate. She knows that nobody feels anything when she dances. So she told the story about visiting her dad and dancing around to Africa. Like, I guess that's like how, that's a package, you know?

00:59:43

That is like a point of connection.

00:59:44

Yeah.

00:59:45

Um, but not for me.

00:59:46

It didn't like stir a lot within me, but it made me want to like her. It made me like wanna give her a fair shot.

00:59:51

Yeah.

00:59:52

And she's dancing her heart out.

00:59:54

I know.

00:59:55

And Carrie Ann isn't wrong. It's a mean thing to say. It is mean. And I, like Derek said, I do look forward to when they slow it down. It's a little more drama. It's a little more elegant and we can like see, ba ba ba ba ba ba. It's just like, it's—

01:00:07

It was very cheerleader, like.

01:00:09

And it's not like, I'm not connecting to it.

01:00:11

Yeah. It was the first time I, like I wasn't DOA watching her. Like I felt something and I was like, she's really good.

01:00:18

Yeah. Then maybe she can be the one to give me my Jordan Fisher moment.

01:00:23

Right, right.

01:00:24

But last night was good. It was a really good dance, but it didn't stir anything in me. But I think we'll get there, and let's just give her enough time to get there.

01:00:32

Yes.

01:00:33

Because we need great dancers on this show, you guys.

01:00:35

It's true.

01:00:35

I don't wanna watch shite for 2 hours.

01:00:37

It's true. And there was kind of a lot of shite last night.

01:00:40

There was a lot of shite, and we're putting a bow on some of the shite.

01:00:43

Of course, because we're contextualizing it, given this person is an actor, But like, I'm trying to be dazzled and I wasn't dazzled really last night.

01:00:51

Mm-hmm. Then Tyler Cameron and Charna Burgess.

01:00:55

What did they dance to again?

01:00:55

They jived to Still the One. What a weird— That's not much '90s, but I thought it was adorable. I thought he did great. I thought he—

01:01:02

I just love him.

01:01:03

I thought he was light on his feet given his size.

01:01:05

Oh yes, the size. That was so unfair. He's huge. I remember the whole thing now. I thought he did great too. The footwork.

01:01:11

Mm-hmm.

01:01:11

I love Tyler Cameron. Like, that's my winner. Like, I really want him to go far.

01:01:15

He got a 17, which is pretty low. I think that's unfair.

01:01:17

They were giving him unfair scores. I agree. I think he really did a good job given the fact that like he's this enormous guy.

01:01:24

And then they pan to, of course, his lady love. His lady love and Hannah Brown.

01:01:30

And Hannah Brown was obviously there because she's a Dancing with the Stars alumnus.

01:01:33

Yes.

01:01:33

But, um, that is her ex-boyfriend. But like, leave Hannah Brown alone. She's happily married.

01:01:37

Yeah. And I— they—

01:01:39

She was in the background the whole episode.

01:01:41

And like ex-friends, because they—

01:01:43

Yeah, I think that they would quarantine. He's engaged. She's married. I think that like maybe it's a little awkward, but for the most part I think they would consider each other as like friends.

01:01:53

Yeah, and then Rachel Kirkconnell was like part of his crew.

01:01:56

Interesting to see that.

01:01:57

She's like—

01:01:57

Rachel Kirkconnell.

01:01:58

'Cause her ex is Matt James, who's Tyler Cameron's—

01:02:01

Like ex-best friend?

01:02:02

Unclear where they stand today, but they became famous as best friends in this world. Matt James is only on the show and we only know who Matt James is because of Tyler.

01:02:11

Yes, so, uh, Tyler got Rachel in the divorce.

01:02:13

Which is weird.

01:02:15

I think so too.

01:02:16

What's the tea?

01:02:17

Based on vibes, like, we think Tyler and Matt also hate each other. So the enemy of the enemy is my friend, you know? They both have a common enemy.

01:02:22

But boys don't hate each other.

01:02:23

I know, but I feel that Matt James and Tyler, like, hate each other.

01:02:26

I don't think they do. I'd actually think we would be surprised to find out that they're fine.

01:02:30

Or like, no, or they just don't care about each other.

01:02:32

No, but like, Matt lives in New York now and Tyler lives in Florida, and it's like, well, you know what, live here.

01:02:36

We'll see. Does Matt show up in the ballroom?

01:02:38

No, he probably won't.

01:02:39

Let's see.

01:02:40

He probably won't. Next and final, we had Ezra Frech with Daniella Karagash.

01:02:45

So it's Frech, by the way.

01:02:46

I say it different every week.

01:02:47

I'm sorry, I'm letting you know what it is in case you were curious.

01:02:51

Frech.

01:02:52

Frech. I feel that the producers are confident in his ability to dance and move forward because he probably got 30 seconds of voting time. They dance and the polls close 30 seconds later, which is so unfair, and that's how you know there's way too many people on the show right now. He was great. I feel like, again, it speaks more to yacht rock. I feel like last week I was like jumping out of my seat. Like, I was like, oh, that's a good dance. I didn't feel so much this week.

01:03:14

It felt really short.

01:03:15

Yes.

01:03:15

But he did the foxtrot, which again, they explained in his package why it will be difficult for him to do with his injury.

01:03:20

And I'm loving, I'm loving the explanation.

01:03:22

And then I love when he's like, but could I do it like this? And she's like, yeah. And then we see the way that they sort of rework it, rejigger the dance.

01:03:33

It's so impressive.

01:03:33

Be successful for him. And you're gonna get my vote every time.

01:03:36

And I know, like, Derek Hough, when he gives his critiques, like, it's— I feel actually I really relate to it because anytime someone's talking and it's like, I can relate, I'm like, oh yeah, that happened to me too.

01:03:46

Yeah.

01:03:46

And I know he's like—

01:03:47

Well, I danced with Amy.

01:03:48

Yeah, right. It's like busting out of him, like, yeah, Amy and I did that too. Um, and he didn't bring it up last night, and I was really proud of him. Um, but I really— like, I actually— I'm not even like coming for Derek. I know we have like fake beef. Like, I thought he looked great. I loved his ascot. And I I was like, is he gonna bring it up again? 'Cause like, I would. It's relevant.

01:04:10

There's no way I dance.

01:04:11

Yes, it's relevant. But I'm sure he is very aware of not wanting to bring it up.

01:04:15

I feel like now when I see him, I just feel like he's thinking about what we said.

01:04:19

I don't think so.

01:04:20

I saw him dancing, I saw him twerking.

01:04:22

'Cause by the way, net-net of that clip, we said good things about him. And I didn't say anything that I don't want him dancing. I said, why do just the Houghs get it? Are they different than the other pros?

01:04:31

Did you see Mark's mother? Was she dancing?

01:04:34

Mark Ballas?

01:04:35

Yeah, I saw a backstage video of like Mark and— is Shirley Ballas? I think—

01:04:40

Yeah, yeah, she's like a dance person.

01:04:41

I saw a video of them dancing, like it looked like the intro. I was like, did I miss that? Oh, and then of course Derek came out.

01:04:48

Listen, you're not baiting me. I'm not getting into it with Derek Hough. I respect Derek Hough. You guys know, like, I was joking. That joke like went way too far, and I'm like, you can't bait me into this conversation.

01:04:58

No, and you know, I'm a huge fan of the Houghs. Like, I'm not even—

01:05:01

like we've, we've sort of been like pitted against one another. Well, not pitted, because like I, like I did say that thing one time, but I feel like people just like misunderstood it, and I am sorry. And like, I, I relate to Derek. Like, I could just, you know the meme of like the kid who's trying not to cough in class with like the veins? That's him trying not to bring up that he'd one-time danced with Amy, you know?

01:05:17

Yeah. Okay, so those were the dances, and then Taylor and Britt went home, which was a little surprising. I think Taylor has like a lot of fans. He— I think there are a lot of people who could have gone home last night and happened to be them, which is sad because she went home early last season She was obviously not happy.

01:05:30

Okay, so let's talk about the alleged beef between Britt and Guillermo.

01:05:34

Well, first let's talk about her reaction when they said it was her.

01:05:36

She was like, I'm so sorry.

01:05:37

I'm so sorry. She looked like she was gonna cry, but then she spoke and it didn't sound like she was gonna cry, but she was very upset and she felt— and she kept saying sorry to him, but like, what did she do? Nothing.

01:05:46

I don't know. And I had seen like a montage of all the times she was eliminated and she like always tells her partner sorry, which is like really sad.

01:05:51

I feel sad.

01:05:52

I know, because it's not her fault. It didn't get better.

01:05:55

Why did she snub Guillermo? What was that?

01:05:56

Right. So then of course, you know, when it's over, the credits roll, all the pros and the dancers and like the fans rush to the stage and hug the people who are leaving. And everyone goes in for their hug, Guillermo goes in for a hug, and she like literally swerves on him. So I think either it could have just been like, there's a lot going on and she's hugging me and I'm being pulled here and I have to go. It could have been totally like explained away.

01:06:14

Yeah.

01:06:15

But if you were to look into it, like Guillermo, I think a lot of people feel that he should go home. He had the lowest scores every week since we started. Um, and Britt went home instead of him, so like maybe she's mad at him But like, seriously, she doesn't seem like an unreasonable, crazy person. And that isn't an unreasonable and crazy thing to feel.

01:06:31

It's not his fault that he's older and slower.

01:06:34

And that people like him.

01:06:35

And having a hard time. Like, yeah, I feel like if she's asked about it, she'll say, oh my God, I didn't see him, there's so much going on. But I don't know what I saw.

01:06:43

You watch it.

01:06:44

I know what I saw. And, and I think she just like didn't want to look at him in that moment because she probably feels like he should be going home.

01:06:49

Yeah, but she doesn't seem like that at all, like vindictive or like brat. Like, she just seems like really nice.

01:06:56

Yeah.

01:06:57

So I don't know, but the video is very confusing and upsetting.

01:07:00

And Guillermo's sort of like standing there.

01:07:02

People are like, she's not gonna return.

01:07:04

Why would she be? Which part would she be mad about?

01:07:07

Because you have to look up every person she stands with. Like, it is shocking. Baron Davis is like the best of them. Her last name is Stewart.

01:07:13

I think actually this guy was the best. Brit Stewart partners, partners dancing with—

01:07:18

it's like old person after old person after old person.

01:07:20

Johnny Weir.

01:07:22

Oh, okay. Well, that's actually like really good.

01:07:25

Mark Ruffalo, who's an actor who I just assume is probably older. I've never even heard of him. I'm looking it up. Mark.

01:07:33

Yeah. Ancient old man.

01:07:35

Um, yeah, but you know what? Andy Richter and Guillermo are ancient old men.

01:07:38

Guess who thinks that that's not a death sentence? It's not.

01:07:40

It's really not. Daniel Durant, who's now her husband.

01:07:44

Oh yeah. The actor from CODA. He's hard of hearing.

01:07:47

So she should be not mad about that part.

01:07:49

Right. 'Cause she met her, her husband Adrian Peterson, who's a football player.

01:07:54

Let's look him up.

01:07:54

And then Baron Davis also, who is a basketball player.

01:07:57

But how old is Adrian Peterson?

01:07:59

I don't think he's terribly old.

01:08:01

He—

01:08:02

but athletes are notoriously bad, except for of course Iman Shumpert.

01:08:05

But they have huge— right, he's 41. That's not— then you're saying like Jenna and, and the gals?

01:08:11

No, I think that like a lot of times, like, you know, when an Alex Earle or a Whitney, uh, Layave gets cast there are certain people who get cast who you know are gonna take you to the finale. And I think that Britt's never really gotten one of those. And I think that this is just what people in the fandom say. Like, Val gets those people a lot, Jenna gets those people a lot, Mark gets those people a lot. Even Maura. Like, Maura and, uh, who was last season? Whitney.

01:08:36

Agreed. Who would you say of the men in this season are confirmed gonna make it to the finale?

01:08:42

That would be Harry Shum, who is her dream partner, which is why it felt like such a snub.

01:08:46

And that's like literally it.

01:08:47

Who else is on the show?

01:08:50

Guillermo, Harry, Jackson, Connor, Tyler Cameron.

01:08:56

I feel it'll be a female-heavy, uh, finale.

01:08:59

And I just think that there's not anyone here that it was like, oh, they're for sure gonna make it, and like, that would be the best, except for Harry Shum. But honestly, he's having a terrible season. No, and they're like the most hated couple.

01:09:09

When the cast was announced, there was like a lot of hate for it, and I didn't really agree. And now that we're in it, like, it's not an amazing cast.

01:09:16

Yeah, and I think also it is easier with the women. Like, we know who the great women are going to be. Like you said, Whitney and— you didn't say a man from last season that was going to go all— like maybe a Jordan Fisher type, right?

01:09:26

We didn't know Robert Irwin was going to be so good.

01:09:28

And I think that had a lot to do with Whitney.

01:09:30

And also ABC just like wanted him to win, of course, because he hosts The Next Pro and he's doing—

01:09:34

but like this season, when you say the people who are going to be good this season, it's a lot of women who are going to be good. I think with the men, like, you do sometimes get like a clumsy old man.

01:09:40

I do think I'd have to look at the but the list of winners has to lean more women.

01:09:47

Yeah.

01:09:47

Joey Grazia Day.

01:09:48

Joey Grazia Day.

01:09:49

He was Jenna.

01:09:51

Yeah, but, and so you would think like Tyler would be Joey, but like he's not— I mean, we love him, but like he's struggling.

01:09:56

Yeah, he is.

01:09:57

So I feel like there's not, aside from Harry, there's not— there's not like an obvious thing. She's getting snubbed like every single time, 'cause I feel like just the men—

01:10:07

No, people just like, like her a lot and feel very defensive of her.

01:10:10

Yeah, and I hope next season—

01:10:11

Even how she does like sign language, like when she's telling people to vote, like it's so cute.

01:10:14

Oh, I saw it.

01:10:14

And love her. Now I know how to do it.

01:10:16

Now I know why. I didn't realize that was why.

01:10:18

Yes. And so also, I saw you— like how you saw Jordan Fisher, I saw like one of their dances where, you know, you don't even think about how difficult it is to dance with no music if you can't hear. Um, so they did their dance, and I think like an iconic part of their journey was that like in the middle of the dance, like she cuts the music and they dance silently just to like sort of reflect like what he's hearing.

01:10:35

Man, I've chills.

01:10:36

It was chilling. I watched it this morning. It was really beautiful. Um, and then the music comes back and like they finish and people were like screaming their heads off and then they got married.

01:10:43

That's really cute.

01:10:44

It's really cute. That's what I mean when I say like, it's not corny inclusivity. Like, that's so cute.

01:10:49

That's real.

01:10:50

That's real. And it's like, yeah, I didn't even think about like being a hard of hearing person trying to choreograph a dance.

01:10:55

Yeah.

01:10:56

I guess you just have to think like 1, 2, 3, like the whole time, like in numbers.

01:10:59

Yeah. If you were on Dancing with the Stars, who would you want your partner to be?

01:11:04

Mark. 'Cause obviously he gets like favoritism and I need favoritism 'cause I'm an aesthetic. Um, I think that like, um, we would like vibe personality-wise.

01:11:13

Mm-hmm. You think?

01:11:14

Yeah. Based on when I saw him—

01:11:15

After Traders?

01:11:16

Well, yeah. But the thing is everyone liked him on Traders. Like he was kind of like this affable, like good personality kind of guy. Um, so yeah, I think I would like him.

01:11:25

Okay. Who else?

01:11:26

Like not Sal, not Pasha.

01:11:29

Ezra?

01:11:31

Oh, I would, I would like Ezra. I think we'd have a good time and we'd make lots of good TikToks.

01:11:34

Jan Rovnik?

01:11:36

Oh, I also would like Jan Rovnik.

01:11:37

on with the Taylor Swift, of course. Um, Mark, Brandon—

01:11:41

I don't really know a lot about Brandon. I know his wife because she comes up on my TikTok all the time.

01:11:45

Yeah, I see.

01:11:46

Um, but I don't know his lore like at all.

01:11:48

And then Val—

01:11:50

yeah, I don't think I would want to be with Val. Too much pressure.

01:11:53

Like, Mark is the most pressure.

01:11:55

No, no. Have you ever seen, um, like those— I'm now on like DWTS archival TikTok. Um, Max, the brother, like abusing people. Like, he used to be so fucking crazy. Like, have you seen the where he like rips his microphone off. Like, it's really scary. I forget who the, um, was it Brandy maybe? Um, and I just feel like that I don't want to be around that kind of energy.

01:12:14

You think Val is like Maxim?

01:12:16

I don't think that he is, but I think maybe he has potential to be.

01:12:19

And there's a lot of like former pros that I now see around, like even Lindsey Arnold with—

01:12:23

Yes, with her, uh, TikTok day in life.

01:12:26

No, and because I saw the Jordan Fisher—

01:12:28

Oh, oh yeah.

01:12:28

And then I actually just saw an ad that Maxim and petrified. Um, they were dancing and putting on lotion.

01:12:34

Of course, I hope they were dancing.

01:12:36

It was very compelling advertisement for lotion. Um, and it makes me like wanna know more about them.

01:12:41

Yeah, so if you do wanna like go in on the lore, like there's so much, 'cause you know, like Emma used to be married. Emma's dating Alan now, who got out. Who was his partner? Oh, Giada. Yeah.

01:12:51

I could be with Alan.

01:12:53

I could be with Alan too.

01:12:54

I could be with Alan.

01:12:54

I feel like Alan's someone like we went to camp with. He's like some Jewish Alan Bernstein.

01:12:58

Every time I see him on the screen, I'm like, Wait, I just saw you at lunch.

01:13:00

Yeah, literally, like, he looks like our cousin. Like, we totally know him. We're definitely related. Um, actually a lot of the pros are Jewish. Max and, um, Chmerkovskiy and Val are Jewish. Alan's Jewish.

01:13:14

The father's Kashkov.

01:13:14

Oh, is he?

01:13:15

Which makes Daniela by association.

01:13:17

Oh, love that. And then, um, okay, so Emma, who's dating Alan, I think she used to be married to Sasha, who's actually not a pro this season, but he's like that little brunette guy.

01:13:28

Yes, I know him.

01:13:29

I think he won with Caitlin Bristow.

01:13:31

Okay.

01:13:31

Yeah, I think Emma used to be married to him.

01:13:34

That's crazy. Why isn't he a pro anymore?

01:13:36

Well, so he comes up on my TikTok all the time and the comments are like, wish you were a pro, wish you were a pro, and he's like liking all them. I think maybe he's just sort of like aged out and they've— they're keeping him in the fold. He does a lot of the TikTok stuff, um, he dances with the troupe. So I think that like you can only be a pro for so long. It's like a physical thing and they have to bring in new people, so you can't really be mad he was on it for so long. I think he won a couple couple of times, and now he's still— he's not fired. They really keep everyone like in the family.

01:13:57

Yeah, very interesting.

01:13:59

Yeah, it's— it is like it's an underworld.

01:14:01

I'm not gonna go watch old seasons because that would be infuriating to not be able to recap it.

01:14:04

Or vote, like.

01:14:05

Or vote. Um, but that is— I— that's cool. Yeah, it's cool.
