Good morning, girlies, it's The Toast.
It's Jax and Claude and we're your hosts.
It's your favorite show, the fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, it's The Toast.
I sound amazing.
Well, welcome back to The Toast and happy Friday. Hope everybody's just sort of acknowledging the space that they're in and taking a look around and feeling immense gratitude for where we're at.
It's exciting to be on a Friday.
I have to tell you something.
What?
I'm so glad I forgot to tell you offline so I could tell you online.
It's not Friday.
Well, we might—
When I went to sleep last night, I fully thought yesterday was Friday night. I was like, oh, Claudia, I wanted to send you something, but I was like, she's off her phone, it's Shabbat. I was like thinking about how— I wonder how late I'll be able to sleep in.
That's so funny.
Thank God I remembered.
Well, I feel that just like programming update is like, we're probably gonna have to start like exclusively talking about Dancing with the Stars on Patreon because like these pros, they like don't I don't know how famous they are, they're all up in our comments.
Who?
So yesterday we posted our clip about how you wanted to be paired up with Maxim.
Yeah.
And I said that would get you a beating. Who's in the comments but his brother Val saying, Max is the GOAT. So he didn't like come for us or anything, but it's just like, I need to be able to express myself. Like, I can't live like this.
Or stop clipping Dancing with the Stars.
Maybe, but it's so viral.
It's viral and like that's what we wanna talk about. But then yesterday I went and watched Maxxam and Meryl's—
Winning.
I don't know what it was. It was their contemporary dance, I guess. That's when everyone starts getting like lyrical and takes their shoes off.
Yeah, and I think that also it's like a little bit, you get a little bit more creative.
No, and they like all look naked.
It's very Abby Lee.
It's very like—
Yes, yes, exactly.
So everyone said I need to watch Maxxam and Meryl. Meryl was the figure skater, right? And I realized I don't think I can do Dancing with the Stars.
That's what I've been saying.
I think no. Not for like— they were so like into— they literally were like kissing at the end.
I know.
They were kissing, Claudia.
No, I know. And it's like, I thought that with like Riley and Fibula, like—
And they're not married individuals.
1,000%. And you just— it's kind of like how when you're an actor, you have to be comfortable with other people.
I feel like they die from Desperate Housewives.
1,000%.
I can't do Dancing with the Stars because it's like inappropriate to my marriage.
Yeah, like people can't be normal.
No.
You can't just be like a dance partner relationship. It's like so intimate.
It was not normal the way that they were touching each other. And then I also realized whenever they do the judges' score, and everything, like the 2 partners are standing there like clutching each other for dear life. Get off me.
Don't touch me. 1000%. No, the, the lack of, um, personal space is definitely something you would struggle with in addition to all the other— 1000%.
And you have to constantly be hugging your partner and like holding them for dear life.
And if you're not, like the fans really start to think like there's something wrong or you guys are hating each other. Like there's so many theories.
So due to the physical touch, I cannot participate in dance competitions.
It's true.
'Cause you know, I'm like that woman from, 30 Rock that Alec like is dating for a second where like when he, if he like touch her, she like bruises. Yeah. When they go to the art gallery and stuff. And like, she's just like very fragile. That's me. She couldn't do Dancing with the Stars. Neither could I.
We all have our reasons for why we couldn't do Dancing with the Stars.
'Cause I was starting to think, you know, like I find Fibula to be an inspiration.
Podcasters on Dancing with the Stars.
Yeah. And I really thought like my barrier to entry would be like, like the physical element.
No, no.
Like having young children and like the logistics. Continuing to complete my sentence.
Yeah, but that's what you're saying, schedule, right?
The logistics of like getting out there. Like, do I— like, if especially if I did it when they're older, do they go to school there? Like, I, I— no, I thought that was going to be the most complicated part, but no.
There's a weirdness, and like we're all just supposed to— like with Hollywood, like we're supposed to be like, this is normal. It's not.
The marijuana— to the point that I was like, were they dating when they were there?
There's rumors about every single person. Like half the time they're true and half the time they're not.
Like, yeah, I, I could see why people might have thought— and the comments were saying, oh my God, remember when we shipped them so hard. I don't know if they were married when they were both— they're both like married with children now, but I hope they were single for what they were doing.
And now you do understand like why Brooks sort of like had no choice but to start dating Gleb.
Yeah.
It's kind of like a forced marriage. Like you're just thrown into these sort of stressful— so all that to say, like I need the Dancing with the Stars pros to like respectfully like respect our creative process.
What I need them to do is watch All shows that we talk about them, because like, if Derek just watches the clips or just hears a soundbite, like, he's gonna think that we're haters. And maybe it's unclear if you are or you aren't.
Um, I'm still working through my thoughts, but at this present moment I'm not.
But like, overall, we're huge fans of the show, of them, like, of everything. We can't stop talking about it. Like, we're fans, and I just feel like that's not coming through.
No, we're getting like hatericious reputations, and like, we're not.
It's just so hard with the clips.
I know, but like, we do what we have to do for the sake of virality, you know?
Yeah, but at the expense of our relationships. And then say we ever do get cast on Dancing with the Stars.
There's gonna be no one left.
How are you gonna look at Derek in the eye? He's obviously gonna judge you poorly.
Well, he judges everyone poorly, and hopefully he can remember my name. We didn't even discuss that Derek again this week called Tyler Cameron Dillon.
It wasn't a bit?
No.
I thought it was a bit.
It was giving he caught it so quickly, but he still did it. That's what I— that's how I interpreted it.
Crazy.
Genuinely offensive.
It's also crazy that Dylan Affron went so far last season considering he's no better than like a Tyler Cameron or a Fibula.
Uh, no, he was like dance-wise, like he was better.
But it's a testament to Daniella. It's a testament to Daniella.
Once you're a true Dancing with the Stars fan, you know it's all about the pro.
It's all about the pro.
And that's like what people used to say to me all the time, and I'm like, I'm sure it is, but I know, me too.
I'm like, I don't care about pro drama.
I'm here for the stars. And they're like, don't you wanna know what happened? But I'm like, no, actually, like, I don't care about these people. But you know what? I do. And it is all about the pros.
It is. And it's the pros sort of make or break.
1,000%.
Yeah.
So I guess we'll have to clip this 'cause that was hilarious.
It's all about the pros.
Yeah. And just know if we do, we're not haters.
No, we're huge fans. We're loving our time with the show. It's been a joy, and you guys are immensely talented. Thank you for all that you do.
Especially the girls who like do it pregnant.
Oh yeah, another—
And like in between.
Another inclusive element of the show.
Yes.
It's crazy.
Mm-hmm.
Have you been seeing this clip going around of Ezra Frech when he was a youngster on Ellen?
Of course. Now I have chills at the thought of my king being on Ellen, that toxic environment.
The couple seconds that I watched, she seemed lovely.
Speaking of kids on Ellen, Please tell me you saw that video. It's really upsetting.
What?
So there was a kid about the piano prodigy.
Yeah.
So he's grown now, but there was a kid who was like one of those kids. He was on Ellen a lot. He was like an insane piano prodigy. I think he like went to Juilliard when he was like 6, and he's now like releasing all this footage. I guess his mom has passed away, but like his mom was like insanely abusive, like to get him to that level. So they're like all these, it was like his Juilliard audition and he like released the full video of like his mother screaming at him, like berating him like an animal. And he's like sitting there crying.
It's the same.
It went so viral. It was all over my TikTok. It was so upsetting. And it like turns out like this great kid who we were all like, oh, so cute, like, look, he's on Ellen, like he was literally being abused like crazy. It was really upsetting.
What is he doing now? I'm not sure. Is he playing piano?
I hope so.
Yeah, but like he probably—
Sometimes it makes you hate the thing. Yeah, probably hates it. Of course. Of course.
That's really sad. No, I didn't see that. But you saw Ezra?
Was on Ellen, yes.
As a youngster.
Yeah, and I guess like that's where he should have been, of course.
And she seemed to be being kind to him.
She was kind to most of the kids. Who was she rude to?
Mason Ramsey? Yes.
And Dakota Johnson, of course.
And she was rude to everyone backstage.
Of course, slapping the producers left and right.
But most of the time she hid it well.
Yes, especially like under the guise of like, look at me and these children.
But it got really bad when like there were episodes where she was being nasty.
Sometimes she forgot like that her nastiness was exclusively for behind the scenes.
Her mask was slipping.
Yeah, and Mason Ramsey, she like couldn't help but hide her like extreme distaste of him. Yeah, like she just thought he was like dumb and like ugly. You really like did not do a good job of hiding it.
Yeah, but maybe that's why like he is where he is.
Well, hopefully Ezra had a good experience on the show.
Yeah, I didn't watch the whole clip.
No, but he was like a cutie and he had like—
Like seriously, if you're gonna be rude to a paraplegic child, like go to hell.
To jail, like seriously go to jail.
Yeah.
That should be like an official misdemeanor.
A crime.
Crime, what's bigger than a misdemeanor? We plead something down to a felony. It should be a felony.
Felony.
It should be Felonious.
Felonious Florida. That's us now.
Yes.
Felonious. It's a good name turn because now, like, if we were naming, if we were starting our podcast now and we were naming it and we're like, just today, like being Felonious in Florida.
When Jackie and I launched, relaunched our show, The Morning Toast, we were so excited. There was so much hype. We were climbing the charts. We were number 2 for like days. We could not beat this other show. It was called Felonious Florida and it became like sort of Like our Smartless now. What happened to that show?
It was like a one-season wonder, and this always happens with new podcasts, and this was a big one 'cause it was just like a miniseries.
Right, like a—
But whenever a new podcast launches, like especially if it is with a network or whatever, like it will automatically like go to number 1 'cause that's like how trending works, and we just like couldn't crack this show that—
'Cause of those felons in Florida.
That's done nothing since.
And made no impact at the time either.
Nothing like we've made.
Oh my God, fucking felonious Florida.
So we never got to be number one.
And that's like why we do have this chip on our shoulders. If you guys are ever trying to understand like where we're coming from.
But I think it's so important that we've never been number one and that we never are.
It keeps us hungry.
Like I've said, like I would always rather be like number 2 through 12. Like, wow. I think that's where you, you have peace.
And I think like to get to the place where you are number one, it requires great sacrifice. Like kind of that I'm like not willing to do. Yeah. No, no, no.
And at the cost of your personal life.
Yeah.
So I think it's, it's great.
That's like— They seeded it too.
When we were talking about tennis players, like, would you rather be— like when we were talking about Taylor and Tommy, right?
Right.
Like Taylor's higher ranked, but I wouldn't want that. Like, no, number 10 is good enough for me.
It's beautiful.
Number 10 in the world, fine.
I'll take it.
I'll take it. So that's how I feel about the charts, truly, truly.
Well, what are the stories? Sure, sure. What are the stories like today, number 2?
Um, the stories are a mixed bag.
Like, in a positive sense?
Yeah, I think so. I wouldn't use the D-word.
Dreck?
I would not call them dreck.
Okay. Not at all.
I would call them like a mixed bag of fun.
Okay, Alexis Rose. That was so Alexis Rose. A mixed bag of fun. All right, let's do it.
You want to get into it?
Yeah.
Without further—
I'm battling some flu-like symptoms in case you guys can't tell.
Oh yeah, that's good.
I hate to complain about it.
No, it's good to let everyone know in case they're feeling some sort of way from you.
Oh, am I cutting off like negative or anything?
No, because you're hiding it well.
Battling flu-like symptoms.
They know you better than you know yourself.
It's true. I'm really not well. I hate not coming. Like, the thing is, I have an amazing, amazing job, and I just need to do like the one thing every day. I hate to call in sick. Ben was like, I'll do it, I'll do it.
I'm sure you will.
And like, he could. I'm sure he would love to like come over here and promote The Good Guys.
With one good swunge.
But like, I hate to miss.
Yeah.
So I will just have to bring my negative energy to the show. But just letting you guys know, if you're reading like into anything, I'm really not feeling good. You probably hear like I'm a little Worse. I'm sick. And being pregnant and sick is dreadful because right now all I really need is 2 Advil. Like it would, I've got a headache, I've got a backache, and I've got a sore throat. Like an Advil would seriously, like I imagine would do for me like what heroin does for other people. Like I just, and I can't take it. And so I'm getting desperate. Ben's doing pressure points on my thumb for a sore throat.
Oh God, your back alley chiropractor. Yes.
So Ben is really into like Eastern medicine and most of the time I roll my eyes at it, of course. But when I'm pregnant, like I kind of have no other option. Like sure. You have to look eastward. I did it on my thumb this morning 'cause apparently it is a pressure point for a sore, dry throat. It didn't help, but I'm open to these types of things now.
Have you seen this cure? Well, it's probably like 6 weeks out, but have you seen like the garlic and honey thing?
No.
Are you on that side of the talk?
No.
I think Them Hoppers does it.
What do you do?
So it's like you make a jar, like peel, I don't know, fill up a mason jar with peeled garlic, pour in honey, you like turn it over and let it ferment for 6 weeks.
Okay, so I don't have 6 weeks, but all right.
You don't have 6 weeks, and then it's like a natural remedy.
You eat the garlic?
Uh, I don't think you eat the— you drink like the honey. You pour it in a cup, like you pour it.
Yucky.
I'm gonna make it for you. I'll see you in 6 weeks.
See, the thing's so much—
you know what, I've seen it so many times.
And what if you're not sick in 6 weeks? Like, it could last longer?
No, it's like— oh yeah, it lasts longer. It will be ready in minimum 6 weeks, but you do it at the start of like Flu season, or like say we did it in September or anytime, and you just always have it on hand if you're like a prepared person.
I didn't proactively make my jarred garlic, sorry.
It's okay, I'll make it for you.
Great.
I'm working on a loaf for you as well.
Yes, yes, I have a lot of things I need from you. Jackie will also be doing the ads today, so make sure to pay attention because I don't have the energy to do them.
I will do the ads today and I'm gonna have a feast with them.
So should we show everyone that feast?

Our first story, major news to wake up to. Ken Urker, who is Gypsy Rose Blanchard's partner and the father of her daughter—
Like ex-partner, I would say like baby daddy.
Who knows with these two? Yes, has passed away on his 34th birthday. So Gypsy Rose's partner Ken Urker has died. He was 34. He was found unresponsive today, his birthday— no, yesterday, sorry, October 1st, his birthday. He was discovered by a family member inside a Louisiana home, a source close to the family confirmed to People. TMZ was the first to report his death. The local sheriff's office confirmed to People magazine that officers were called to a residence in Raceland at around 6:15 PM, and he was found dead upon arrival. So Gypsy reportedly sent him a happy birthday text and did not receive a response, per TMZ. He was later found by Gypsy's brother Dylan and his wife when they arrived at the home.
So, Streez, you're saying that Gypsy sold the story to TMZ, um, which kind of, given the details, does track. Um, obviously people are freaking out about this because like, what are the odds that like 2 times now, like, someone near and dear to you dies, and the first time you sort of are a suspect and you do end up going to jail?
She's an accomplice Right? Did she ever deny that?
No, no. And I think like a lot of people felt that it was really justified, so like we don't really care why you did it. But now it's like, well, is this a pattern or a coincidence? Because I don't know, the odds of it happening twice are just really crazy.
Yeah, it reminds me of this book we read for Redheads, Mad Mabel, where it's just like people around her keep dying. And then like— and her ops—
Was she innocent? Oh, actually, don't spoil it.
Don't spoil it. And her— it's Sally Hepworth. You should read it.
Oh, okay. I do want to say, I I think Gypsy is innocent, I do. Well, 'cause I don't know if you guys know this, I have actually met and chatted quite deeply with Gypsy Rose, and I did not get murderous vibes from her, I really didn't. And I think she really loved being free.
She doesn't wanna go back there.
Correct.
For one cheeky.
Like a lot of times, if you saw Shawshank Redemption, a lot of times people get out of prison, they don't know how to act and they actually end up back in prison just because it's like a comfort. Well, not a comfort, but it's what they know. And I think Gypsy, she came out and was famous and rich. I don't think she wants any part of that. in returning to prison. So I can't imagine she would do this. I really can't. But I will say, I agree with people, the odds of it happening twice are slim.
Yeah, this saga just is always crazy, right? Because like her boyfriend killed her mother, she went to jail where she got in touch with Ken Erker.
Is that how they met?
Yeah, they met.
She had a different boyfriend.
Yes, yes, yes, she had a husband actually.
So that's who I met, Ryan.
So the couple, Ken and Gypsy, first connected when Gypsy was still in prison for the murder of her mother. Ken proposed to her in October 2018, and then the couple briefly called off their engagement before reuniting in August 2019. They later went their separate ways again for multiple years during the time Gypsy married and split from her estranged husband Ryan Anderson.
Yes, Ryan, of course.
They reconciled in April 2024, and Ken recalled for like how they found their way back to each other.
Like, I want Gypsy to know there are other men like outside of the 2 that you met in prison.
Well, I feel like it's not like a lack of man problem.
No, and that's what's inspiring about Gypsy Rose in general is that you can be this sort of felon, unique—
Felonious gypsy.
Felonious gypsy, this unique individual, and have not one but two boyfriends, husbands. That's what I feel like when we say to your Toasters, it's hard to get a boyfriend, it is, but look at Gypsy Rose.
Yeah.
And you know what, not to keep bringing it up, but when I did interview Gypsy Rose, I asked her, I did ask her, 'cause I didn't wanna say it like this, I'm like, how do you keep getting boyfriends? And she said, you just have to be a queen and your king will come, and I thought that was really That's really beautiful.
Some girls just have it, you know?
She definitely had it.
And some girls, like, there's all different versions of it. Like, you know, cool girl, right?
There's a girl that always has a boyfriend.
Yeah, there are some girls that just like give off great energy to guys.
Yeah, I don't know if that's Gypsy's thing because both times she met her man, she was in prison.
And think of the obstacles that she has to overcome. Like, of course, like, maybe at first you would think like, oh no, I'm not gonna go there, she's in prison.
At first, of course.
But then like her dazzling personality—
Smile breaks through, yeah.
And like maybe she's just a great girlfriend.
Maybe she's just a great girl.
Maybe.
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Maybe not. Yeah, I am not like obsessed with Gypsy Rose the way like culture is obsessed with her.
You're even more obsessed than I am. Like I'm really out on this, but I, I can't lie, when I saw this headline this morning, I was like, whoa.
Yeah, just because like the odds of it happening twice are—
yes, crazy. Um, they are saying that he died of an apparent overdose. However, this was yesterday, so it seems like more information will come out. Like, it's all coming out very quickly, right?
Because people are saying Gypsy like sold this story to TMZ and like—
well, that would be wrong.
You would need to know if like an autopsy, if somebody did a drug overdose, you know what I mean?
You could like maybe if they walked in and they saw needles all over the ground, they saw like paraphernalia and they came to that conclusion, but nothing has been like officially No, not at all.
So my water bottle is frozen and it's reminding me like when we were kids when you would take a water bottle and put it in the freezer.
Peak living.
Peak living. And like on a hot summer night it would like slowly melt and you'd have this like big, big chunk of ice. Those were the days.
Good times.
Do you want— like, it's seriously— this is an elite way to drink water.
I still haven't even finished my electrolytes this morning. I'm all out of whack.
This is an elite way to drink water.
I'm, I'm good. I have a lot. Are you sure? I have a lot and I have my own elite water.
No, yours is not frozen, obviously. The producer here prefers me. Thank you.
I prefer room temperature.
Yeah, soda's bad.
It's better for you.
Is it?
I think— I don't quote me on that.
Ben just says it's easier to down.
That too. Yeah, that's like— I like my electrolytes room temperature so I can chug them.
Correct. I agree with that.
I agree with that too.
But I like my soda— somehow I can like chug a soda. I don't like warm soda.
How's Ben feeling this morning after his big sushi extravaganza at Costco?
So Ben went to Costco yesterday, and you know, we don't really have a lot of experience like with Costco. We've obviously been to Costco.
We're sort of discovering Costco. Yeah.
And so like if I've ever been to Costco, it really was not in a meaningful way.
I understand. That was my experience before the Patreon.
Yeah.
You guys all saw my first trip to Costco.
And so Ben went, I forget what he even went for, but like he picked up lunch obviously. And he, um, picked up sushi. I think a lot of people would be like, ah, sushi. But one thing about my husband is he stares fear right in the eye and he does not care.
He fears not.
He literally fears not. And his video, he's so excited because he tried Costco sushi and it's like going viral on TikTok. And he said it was delicious. Like he had a couple of notes for like the flavor profiles, but the fish he said was extremely high quality.
I, I watched that real, like that was script to my teeth.
Yeah, of course.
I was scared.
Of course.
I was afraid.
But I follow this mother-daughter duo who's always like trying the different foods at, um, Costco. Never sushi cuz they're not crazy, but like the pre-prepared foods at Costco, like are some of the most high quality foods on earth. Like, yeah. I don't know why everyone was so worried because Ben was, he was gonna be okay. And one thing about Ben, he's got a, an iron stomach.
So no negative contraindications?
No, he's felt pretty good all night as far as I know. I did fall asleep literally at like 7:30, but when he woke up this morning, he didn't have any, you know, big news to tell me.
Okay. That's good.
And everything looked good.
So it's got the Bund seal of approval.
Yes. I think he would actually go back.
He should.
Yeah.
Like it looks like Nobu lunch the way he's talking about it. And Nobu's disgusting.
It's true compared to Costco.
Um, so just to round up this first story, this is very sad, of course.
Oh, and then there was like also a TikTok Live element. The sister went on TikTok Live this morning kind of confirming the death.
Um, apparently— Ken's sister Autumn went on TikTok Live the night he died confirming his death and revealing that his last words to her were, I love you. This whole situation is very smelly.
It reeks like the Costco sushi.
But at the end of the day, like, a man is dead and that's very sad. Devastating.
And he's a child.
But everything else around it is is, is very fishy. Um, going on TikTok Live immediately is not like amazing.
The streets are also saying Ken's TikTok went live for like a few minutes last night.
People are also wondering like why she just texted him happy birthday. Like, isn't that her man's?
No. So on the TikTok Live, the sister did say that her— he and Gypsy were not together, but they share a child together.
It's a tangled web she weaves.
I just watched that. It's a tangled web she weaves.
So rest in peace, Ken.
Rest in peace.
Um, and that's kind of all there is to say. That's all there is to say.
RIP Ken.
At the moment. At the moment. Are you ready for our next story? Alex Earle was spotted out.
I need everyone to chill.
Zach Bia. Isn't he a professional friend?
Okay, I need everyone to chill because he's not a professional friend. Like, he's dated Madison Beer, those iconic paparazzi photos of them yelling at each other. He has definitely like dated lots of— I think he dated Olivia Rodrigo, high-profile women. He's like a nepo baby, like DJ. He's like literally just sort of this like faceless, nameless person who's always around. But I need everyone to like use context clues because if you've ever seen that episode of Sex and the City where Charlotte goes to the theater with her friend who she believes to be gay, and then as they're getting in the cab, he kisses her, and she was like, I was wearing my glasses. Alex was wearing her glasses and like gray leggings. I'm sorry, this was not a date.
This was not—
and also her publicist was there, Kate Bailey was there. Like, I like how they conveniently left her out of the picture. Sorry, these two are not dating.
No, like, he's a friend person.
He's just like a— an actual groupie. Like, yeah, he's like— he's a friend for hire in LA.
Yes, yes. So it would be like if she were out with Jake Shane and they were like, 1,000%, Alex Earle's new man.
1,000%. This is so not a thing because at first—
But he is a straight man.
Right, right. Of course we would know Jake Shane wasn't because Jake Shane is gay. But like, no, when I saw this, for one second I was like, no. And then I was like, oh wait, no, this is not happening. Because at first I was like hella disappointed. I'm sorry, like, no, no, it's just, it's not the vibe. Um, but then using context clues, the gray, not even leggings, like yoga pants, the glasses, and then, oh, the third person. This is not a date.
Yeah, no, it's just like catching up with friends. I— is he friends with Stass?
Yes, he's friends with everyone.
So, and that's her friend.
Oh yeah, right. I forgot about the Stoss connection.
Like, when I saw the two of them, I just thought Stoss.
Yeah, maybe Stoss like had to leave early or something.
Or like Stoss set them up as friends because like they're all looking for friends.
Right. And she is spending more time in LA. She has like an apartment there now.
And she's in her friendship era. Did you watch her episode with Jake Shane, Alex Earle, and Ashton?
On the Puss?
Yeah.
I did— I did not. I watched like so many clips.
They talked a lot about making new friends.
Okay.
It was funny cuz Alex is in her like making new friends era and they were talking about her friendship with Stas and how it's like been so good for her. Right. And she's not always like been like this, but I, I think this is just about friendship. Yeah.
And I think that a lot of us go through eras where like we're kind of in our friend-making moments. You're definitely in a friend-making moment. I think a lot of times when you have kids, like you start seeking out mom friends.
Mm-hmm.
And so when you move to— I love when you move. Yeah. So I love this, like make friends.
Yeah, people are trying to make it about like Madison Beer and Justin Herbert and Tom Brady. This whole New York Post article, they're just like looking for an angle. The first 5 paragraphs don't even mention Alex Earle's name. It's just about how like Justin Herbert is like— this links him to Tom Brady.
Madison Beer is like engaged. She leveled up so hard. So they dated for a long time, and if you've ever seen the paparazzi pictures of them fighting, like it's seriously— it's giving like Wimbledon with Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk.
I love that.
I love that. Yeah. Um, and I feel like she was so upset after the breakup, and it's like you never even know what's waiting for you around the corner. Like, the glow-up of the century. Like, he's the quarterback, right, for the Rams?
Uh-huh.
Um, he is so handsome. He's like the darling of LA. And like, why? Or Chargers, whatever it is. And why? Seriously? Oh, and now they're engaged, by the way. She's the biggest ring of all time, and she's like at an elite level with like Hailee Steinfeld and Taylor Swift. Like, seriously, why would she give a fuck about her old unemployed ex-boyfriend?
No, she's not looking back. No, he's not unemployed. He's an American DJ. And he is also a record executive.
Like I said.
Are you ready for our next story?
Mm-hmm.
Ashley Tisdale's husband, Christopher French.
You know what? I can't stand these two. I really can't.
Breaking his silence on the toxic mom group drama. Thank God.
Because, like, we were waiting with bated breath for Christopher French.
Who is Christopher French?
I don't know, but she has a, like, haircare brand called French.
Frenchay. And because that's her married name.
It's a good name.
It's a nice name. Christopher French.
It's giving, um, American DJ and record executive.
It is. What is he?
Like a Matthew Koma type?
He's a musician, composer, and producer.
Matthew Koma?
Yeah, best known as the founder of the rock band Annie Automatic.
Oh, you're kidding. No, I have no idea.
I don't know them. And Matthew Koma, like, is like the producer for Zedd or what?
No, Matthew Koma is actually like incredibly successful, but I imagine that this is part of the reason why Hillary and Haley Nope, Hilary and Ashley at first got along. Like, music exec husbands, former Disney Channel stars. I mean, he's finally speaking out, thank God. I was like really waiting.
So he hosts a podcast called Recovering.
Okay. I assume that's about like recovery from alcohol and stuff?
Yeah, and that has nothing to do with what he said this week.
That's good.
But just know that he has a podcast.
Cool.
Um, he said, we're doing fine. She's a super smart, capable person and she knows what she's doing, and that's part of what I love about her. Um, you know, all he said— I will say I have no problem supporting my wife completely in her ability to deal with her own interpersonal relationships in whatever way feels— she feels is right for her without getting involved or feeling like I have to speak for her. She's a really smart chick. She's a very capable person, which is really what made it so hard. We are very private, but in speaking to something that really matters to her—
I'm sorry, like, when you are really private, you can't like claim your privacy after you wrote the blog post.
Yeah.
First of all. Second of all, I totally forgot that I sprayed like so much dry shampoo in my hair this morning. Is my hair gray?
I guess there's like a one like—
Does it look like Mr. Sheffield?
No, not at all.
Okay, okay.
You can't see it, it's at like the top.
Okay.
Um, and then 2, this is obviously a dig at Team Duff Coma because like he got involved, right?
Oh, I forgot that Matthew Coma did like start making content, but the thing is it's over now. So like you just coming in a year later, because we were actually sitting in this studio. Yeah, so it's been almost a year.
And to like let us know that you're not saying anything and that you didn't say something.
Yeah. To release a whole podcast telling us that you're not talking.
I don't know if it was on the podcast.
Whatever. To release a whole statement just to say that you're not saying. Yeah, I'm all set. That is a waste of my time. And now I'm just re-reminded of the fact that like she did this thing, she played the victim, and then she sold a TV show. Yeah, and they're making a TV show about it, which is crazy because like in that time Hilary Duff has like completely revamped her career. She's releasing new music. I just saw a video. Her tour was so unbelievably successful. And it's like the more we like move into this, like Ashley Tisdale just just continues to look like a bigger loser. To take the L. To take the L, exactly. Even if the show comes out to be like the next Hunting Wives or whatever, it's like the origin story is dark.
I know, but like, I know where we landed on the situation. Like, where did the culture land?
With us, because it was kind of like a bait and switch. At first we were all like, oh my God, look at all these girls being mean to Ashley Tisdale. And then it was like, well, wait, like people started to learn more about the different members of the group and like how things went down and some of like And then it kind of like flipped on her, and I think she acknowledged that too, and that's a little bit of what he's saying. I think she thought she was taking her power back by selling it. To me, it makes her like a bigger loser.
Well, at least she can be a paid loser.
That's true.
A moneyed one.
Because you can only be such a big loser like when you have money.
And the thing is like, this will be a great show.
Conceptually.
Conceptually, like I don't like the origin, but like yeah, toxic mom friend group.
Some of them are famous, right?
You know, like the music class drama, whose house is it going down at?
There's so much music class drama to the ones that I go to I cannot sit on the floor. Like, that's the drama.
Oh, were you struggling?
Just, I'm at a place in my life and like my journey where I can't do floor time.
Yeah, I didn't really like notice it yesterday.
Well, that's good. Like, my back was breaking, and also with my flu-like symptoms, like, yeah, you know.
I was saying I didn't even realize I was sitting on the floor, which is good.
But that is good.
Now I'm gonna be aware.
Yeah. And like with coccidinia, pregnancy, there's just like a lot of things that limit me.
You need like a little, a little chair.
Imagine I bring my own chair. Do it.
Well, I'm gonna have music class and I'll give you a chair.
Great.
Yeah. Um, so yes, I'm, I'm very much the target audience. Did my chair get lower?
You do look really low. Oh my God, do you need help?
Let me just bring it back up.
I'm cracking up. Now you sitting— by the way, now you sitting on the floor while talking about sitting on the floor. I didn't even notice I'm sitting on the floor. Do you think it's like slow? Have you been like that the whole time, or do you think you slowly started to?
I, I think it was slow because—
And it wasn't one big drop.
No, no, no, no.
We would've seen that.
And then by the end I'm like, why am I on the floor?
That's funny.
Um, so yeah, we've heard from Mr. French.
And I was definitely waiting for this, so I'll sleep really well tonight.
Yeah. Are you ready for our 4th story? Mm-hmm. It's actually sort of related to something that we spoke about previously, which was Ben's jaunt to Costco.
Mm-hmm.
Because Guillermo Rodriguez's salsa brand launches nationwide after selling over 1 million Wow.
Oh, so I guess like they've had a huge boost in sales since Dancing with the Stars.
Yeah, but they haven't even mentioned it. I guess he did bring— did he bring Whitney some of his salsa?
Maybe.
I just thought maybe it was like from home.
They're doing a good job because I've just sort of seen for myself on social media now, being like a Guillermo fan, that he has a line of salsa. And I'm like, oh, that's so smart. And then Ben sent me a picture yesterday that he saw it at Costco, and I don't think he bought it. And I'm now like remembering him saying as we were eating dinner, like, I wish I bought that salsa.
I could have used some too.
I've, I haven't heard much, but I imagine it's delicious.
Yeah, because I was, I was having tacos last night actually, and I realized like one clean swap that I haven't made because I like the toxic version is Tostitos salsa.
And chips.
I'll do Siete chips. I like Siete chips.
I won't. I will not.
I'm fine with Siete, but like I have yet to find, and people like to say like, oh, get the ready-made salsa for, you know, there are cold salsas.
With pico de gallo.
Yeah, but like those go bad quicker. That Tostitos salsa never goes bad.
You guys, the Tostitos salsa—
But I always know I have one in my house.
We can't be perfect, obviously. And like, you don't have to swap everything in your life. And I think that if there's something like you can't quit, like your joy— we're not taking account into the joy that the Tostitos salsa brings you. Tostitos salsa, I imagine it's like full of preservatives because yeah, like it could survive—
It never goes bad.
It could survive a nuclear war, but it is so fucking delicious. And you know what, like that's okay.
And I don't wanna buy fresh salsa like every time it's gonna be taco night, 'cause I only use a little bit. Like the, what, The— my—
the shelf life is so convenient.
My habitual use of it is perfect for my lifestyle.
Don't beat yourself up.
But I was just thinking that yesterday, like, I, I do need to find a, a clean— like, a better salsa.
The thing is, I think that, like, clean salsas are more so pico de gallo, and, like, I'm sorry, those two are not the same thing.
No, and it's more so— it's like buying herbs, like, they're gonna go bad so fast and I'm not gonna use them before you have a chance. Yeah. Um, so I, I could check out Guillermo's if it's shelf stable?
It wasn't in the refrigerator section, now that I'm thinking about the photo that Ben sent me. Let me see. Hold on.
He posted on his Instagram.
Oh, he did?
Okay. Brown box.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Um, so that's good to know. I, I sort of like need Primal Kitchen to make a salsa. That's maybe when things will change for me.
I'm pretty happy with where I'm at with my Tostitos and salsa. I don't want to get better. Like, I had actually for like a snack yesterday Tostitos and salsa, and like, it was just an amazing way to live your life. Like, it was just good old-fashioned fun. It's like salty and it's just, they do it well, and I don't want to look at the ingredients. Like, I can't be perfect.
No, it's true. I just like— I made such a healthy dinner last night, and I was like, this is not—
this is just not— Congruent with the rest of your ingredients.
This does not meet the standard.
You'll be okay, and you look great.
Thank you so much.
And how do you feel?
I feel fine.
You're fine.
I'm fine.
You're fine.
It's like something that I'm like, oh, I'm still using Tostitos salsa. If people knew that about me, it's not— that sort of food also makes me feel bad.
It's on brand.
It's on my street cred.
1,000%.
I'm in the clean community.
Well, Guillermo's launching nationwide. I think that's wonderful. This is just another example of how the show like really has such a positive impact on local communities, and I love it.
Yeah.
And you know what, when Ben goes back out to get more sushi, I will tell him to pick it up.
Yeah, it'll be in Kroger.
And I don't know why he didn't. Like, Ben is not one—
It's not like a big commitment.
Not only that, like me, I'm like, I'm sweeper, I'm cardboard. I'm like, forget it. Ben is more is more.
No, and it's like, you're allowed to buy a jar of salsa.
Are you though? No, no, you're not in my house.
You're allowed to.
No, not if it's not Tostitos. But I could see Tostitos making an acquisition. And I just want to say, the salsa being named Guillermo's is like a great name for a salsa company.
Yeah, no, it's, it's very, um, synergistic.
Okay, we'll have to do a Patreon Costco test taste— taste test.
It looks good. It looks good.
Well, congrats, seriously.
Yeah, I didn't know that was happening.
Me neither.

I am.
Kelly Clarkson is talking about AI music.
Oh, is she not talking about—
2 days in a row we brought up the story she never wants us to talk about.
Okay, sorry.
Kelly Clarkson loves AI.
Does she?
But says AI artists shouldn't be competing with humans on music charts. Are there real AI artists already? Like, no, except for I'm so glad my Travi made it to the big game. Like, I've never heard an AI song.
First time in San Juan, me eat capital of Puerto Rico. Um, yeah, I don't know if there's like bands who are like making waves in the industry, but I guess that is like the future.
Yeah, so she was on Les Colches, right? And she explained that while she loves AI technology and spanking her children, she doesn't feel AI artists should be competing on music charts with humans. She said, here's the thing, I love AI, there are very amazing things with AI, and I'm obsessed with. But also, and I'm very into it artistically too, I have fun with it just like everybody else does.
Are people in the music industry like using AI? I feel like they're all always like making their statements about how it's bad for the like water.
Ooh, she said, but when you see AI artists competing on a chart with humans, I have an issue. I think there should be a separate chart. Okay, but what about human artists who are using AI like you just said? Not only that, and again, like, are there AI artists yet?
Is this a problem? But also like, and I'm going to actually disagree with Queen Kelly on this, truck drivers aren't having to like be on separate trucks with robots.
robot driving cars.
Correct. And like, I don't know, the thing about music is sort of like the best song wins. So putting separate categories and charts, I don't know, I just feel like it's not a meritocracy.
I agree.
And I think at the end of the day, AI music can really only be so good, cuz like music and art is one of those things that like needs, needs a human touch, right? So like, I actually don't think that they pose a real threat. AI artists pose a real threat to human artists.
I agree.
Because It's like music is all about that. We were saying like Instacart, human connection.
It is. And like what the person has been through, right?
Can I relate? Like AI, what have— what has AI been through?
Nothing. Nothing except for like disrespectful people, like not saying please and thank you. I'm— I think I'm the most respectful user of AI.
I'm not. And I feel like that's what keeps me from becoming one of those people who has like an AI best friend or like an AI boyfriend. It's like, because I don't talk to them like I talk to humans, like there's no delineation. I know you're a machine.
But when the war comes, comes, you're going down first.
That's fine, honestly. Like, I really don't think that I would do well in any war. Like, I don't like food rations, and I'm certainly not like getting into combat. So fine, take me down.
They're gonna take you, and I think mine will spare me.
Like, I feel that for my own health— I think it's actually very easy to quickly like become one of those people who's like talking to chat about like therapy stuff and like issues they're having in their personal life. I actually don't use chat for that at all, and I feel like the fact that I don't say please and thank you, where it's like if I was seriously asking Like, hey, can you please measure this for me? I would say it so differently. The fact that I don't helps me delineate between what is real and what is AI. And I think like people who are so polite, like the same way you would talk to a server, you would talk to your chat. No, sorry, chat's not real. Chat's not a person. You don't have to give manners to chat.
I, I just, it's in my nature to have manners. And I'm proud to say that I don't talk to chat about like personal emotional stuff.
And I think that like when one does—
But I'm like, you know, more sound of mind than most. Right.
I think when you get to a place where like you're actually like talking about your feelings and stuff, like I actually think that's bad. I, I know like therapy can be like inaccessible and perhaps unaffordable, but like I would definitely encourage you to talk to a human being.
What? No, I— not no period, no comma. Um, I've heard of people like using chat as their therapist, famously Craig Conover. Um, and I didn't I didn't necessarily hate it. And now I'm curious if I like put into chat like a conflict that I'm having, like some conflict revolution— like resolution, I wonder what their advice would be.
Yeah, but you're coming at it like completely unemotionally, whereas like everything you talk about in therapy is like so emotional. You're just like looking for a conflict resolution, whereas like people in therapy are like, but my feelings.
No, but maybe I can't see it clearly because I'm too close to it.
Maybe. But I just think like certain things like music are better with a human.
Yeah, but like, I—
when it comes to math and robotics, like, yeah, if I'm a mathematician, I'm quaking. AI is making me quake.
Yeah.
If I'm an artist, a musician, a therapist, I'm okay. I'm not— I'm not losing sleep over AI. If anything, I think AI can help me make— like Kelly said, make my job— to make me do better. But no, I don't think they're taking my jobs. But like, if I work in an assembly line at a factory, I'm going to night school, you know? I'm figuring out an alternate Yeah, but which industry?
I mean, I guess coal mining is sort of AI-proof. Which—
okay, if you're an athlete, I feel like that's also like—
Well, then Kelly makes an interesting point. She said it's basically like having Olympics and then you're having robots compete with humans. Well, who's going to throw it further? Oh, I wonder.
Okay, actually, you know, when she was talking about 2 separate charts, I was also thinking about 2 separate Olympics, but I was thinking about Paralympics. Like, why can't Paralympians perform— excuse me, not perform, compete in the regular Olympics? Um, because is it considered an advantage to have like a metal leg?
No, but I would have to like look at the stats. But are they just not like— would they qualify?
Would they qualify? Right. And it's like, then it's like, then they don't even get a chance, right? Fine. Okay, fair.
I think that's more what—
but that's not what AI is because AI has like all the capabilities, right?
So like, yeah, they could start putting like AI robots like on the field and like—
That's not interesting.
No, it's not.
Because you'd like to learn about the athletes, like what have they been through, who are they dating, Um, and like we said, AI really hasn't been through a lot.
And like, you wanna see mistakes. It sort of makes the game, like the game that we watched on Sunday night, Ravens versus Cowboys.
Right. And then there's like a comeback and a setback. AI can never, you know, I do think there are industries that are AI-proof. Uh, we've said many times, being daily pop culture podcasters is sort of an AI-proof job, but we use AI here sometimes to like, you know, yeah.
Ask questions.
Yeah. It helps us with our show, like our, our Fact. Sometimes we make images for our social media. We one time did that episode where we had Chat create an episode of The Toast for us and we like followed its outline.
Did we like it? No. Which is good.
Like we tested the theory that could AI take our job and we were able to come to the conclusion no, because we did the experiment.
Yeah. Yeah.
So we're safe.
Yeah.
But again, if you work in accounting or honestly like a lawyer, legalese, I think that, I think that AI won't erase like legalese completely. Like in the courtroom. Correct. But I do think, I actually I think it'll streamline so much of being a lawyer. I think like kind of the days of being a paralegal are out, which is unfortunate because I think a lot of great lawyers start as paralegals.
Yeah.
Like an internship.
Yeah. Also, I don't want to see more charts. I don't want to see more award shows. Like, just keep it to one, you know? The Grammys AI version.
I completely agree.
Even though my favorite song of all time was written by AI. What does that say about me?
Taylor.
I'm so glad my Travie made it to the big game. One step closer to Kelce being my last name. But if you play like you ain't worthy, you can call me Mrs. Taylor Purdy.
Chills.
Chills.
Brock Purdy.
That was when they were playing the 49ers in the Super Bowl. Chills.
Um, so, but the Kelce interview is like making lots of waves. Yeah, yeah, she like loves Las Colch. This is her second time on.
She does. She was also talking about—
It's also an iHeartRadio podcast, so I feel like a lot of like music people like to go on it because it like benefits their relationship with iHeartRadio.
Oh, very interesting. She was talking about not dating. She was talking about Dolly Parton.
Yeah, just, uh, what'd she say about— oh no, I was getting her confused with Reba. She has a— she's related to Reba.
Yes, via marriage and then no longer.
Via divorce.
I wonder what her thing was, that shtick that they do, like At the end.
Oh, uh, I don't think so, honey.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Should we look it up?
Yeah.
I like that shtick. I like when people have like, um—
I like to see like what people are gonna say.
It's an opportunity to like show me how unfunny you are.
Yeah.
Or how like truly funny you are.
A lot of times I'm like truly like shocked by the badness of it.
Yeah.
But that's critical information.
Let's see what Kelly Clarkson said. I think everyone has to do it.
Yeah, that's like part of their show.
Kelly Clarkson's, I don't think so. Oh, this is her old one. She's getting it.
Oh, hers was like about rehearsals in the middle of the day, right?
But mine is real. Okay, this is from her last time. Time starts now. I don't think so, honey. Did anybody see Social Dilemma? Why are we all hooked to our phones? Oh my God, look, I sound like an old person, but it's just like, why are we that interested in someone's coffee? Okay, I actually don't like that at all.
Does she have one for this one yet?
If she has, it hasn't been clipped.
Um, uh, it was not gonna lie when she went, because I'm not gonna lie, you have to do something.
I'm not gonna lie. Yeah.
And she had said something about like schools doing their performances in the middle of the day. Like, we have jobs.
Oh, that's a good one.
Which is good for like not— For moms. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, I don't think she did one.
Well, she probably did, but they haven't clipped it yet, right?
Oh wait, her I don't think so, honey was about AI. That's the article you just wrote was her I don't think so, honey.
Oh, so this is when she was—
I just want to say Kelly was also looking really good on the podcast. She wore a cap sleeve, which is like kind of a crazy thing to do, and she looked really good.
Good.
So she's obsessed with technology. However, she said don't get too excited about having, um, because she draws a line when it comes to AI encroaching on actual human singers. Okay, that was so— I don't think so, honey. Um, she said she loves AI, but I don't think it deserves a place on the regular Billboard charts. Okay, that's also a bad one.
But can— is AI on the Billboard charts?
I don't know.
Like, I love when people like make something their personality of a problem that doesn't exist.
Oh my God, that happens all the time.
It does, it does. And it's like a good way to like get— there, there's AI. What song is AI? Um, it's a good way to get attention for yourself.
Should we release an AI-generated song? Then like, who owns it? Like the money generated?
Like, yeah, you know, I mean, I think all these laws are still being written.
Yeah, right, right, right. The rest is still unwritten. Um, okay, let's do our final segment of the week, which is Queenie and Weenie of the Week. And you know, every Friday Jackie and I like to wrap up the week giving out an award, Queenie of the Week and Weenie of the Week. It's pretty self-explanatory if you like a weenie this week, you will be the weenie. Like, it's sort of an unavoidable thing. But don't be wor— don't be worried, because you could also be Queenie the next week. It's a 7-day title. Um, and actually this week I've decided sort of we're not doing weenie because it doesn't feel in line in the spirit of who our Queenie is. So I've actually found out this morning that Brooke Eby, who— if you, you might have followed her on social media or you found her on the toast, like, what was it, like 4 years ago?
Yeah.
Um, I kept getting tagged in this TikTok and it was being, um, It was a video from this girl named Brooke who had just been diagnosed with ALS, and she basically was like, here is my bucket list. And one of the things on her bucket list that she wanted to do before she passed was coming on the toast. So Jackie and I were like, all right, so come, like, no problem. We had her on the toast. She ended up like after that kind of having like a hugely successful career as like an ALS advocate. She was like on the Today Show. She just really like never stopped. And I follow her, and in the last year you can see like her condition really deteriorating. And so she And she was confined to a chair and then to the bed and she was wearing a breathing tube and then I found out this morning that she passed, which is so sad and just really upsetting because I remember when she came on the show, I remember thinking how unfair it was. She was our age and her whole life just changed in a minute. She found out this thing and she knew she was gonna die and she had such an amazing attitude.
I remember asking her and I felt bad, I was like, I don't know if I should ask, but I was like, aren't you scared? When you think about the future, what do you think of? And she was like, I don't really think about it. She just had a really great attitude and I remember—
She's so brave.
She was so funny, and she never lost that. Even when you see her social media posts, they're kinda crass, and you're like, oh my God. She never lost her sense of humor, and it's just a really big loss for everyone. And I think we could learn a lot from her, which is why I will not be doing Weenie this week.
That's beautiful.
In the spirit, even though I just know she would've loved it. And she probably would've wanted me to make Derek Hough my— but I won't, I won't. So I just wanted to let everyone know. I don't know, I just, I think it maybe happened yesterday, and I saw it on Instagram this morning. that she did pass and, um, she will be missed. And she was a Queenie and she's kind of our first ever posthumous Queenie.
But she is a Queenie.
She is a Queenie. So rest in peace, Brooke. We loved getting to know you. You are an inspiration to really everyone and a queen. A Queenie.
Yeah.
And with that, beautiful. Thank you guys so much for listening to the Toast in the Morning Show where we deliver the fast 5 stories you need to know every Monday through Friday on YouTube. So if you're watching us on YouTube, please feel free to subscribe, give this video a thumbs up. Oh, also, like, in the spirit of Brooke, like, make a donation to ALS. That's like what her big thing was. Like, she really felt like ALS could be cured if they had better funding. Like, she kept saying that like she was like wishing a Kardashian would have had ALS just because of like the attention and the money it would have brought her, which was like also a kind of a crazy thing to say. And I was like, oh, so make a donation. Thank you so much. Leave a 5-star review about how beautiful, stunning, and wickedly talented we are. Hope you guys have an amazing weekend, and we will see you back here on Monday.
