Good morning, girlies, it's The Toast.
It's Jax and Claude and we're your hosts.
It's your favorite show, the fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, it's The Toast.
I sound amazing.
Welcome back to The Toast and happy Wednesday. Yeah, that's right, it's Do It Tuss Wednesday. What used to be hump day is now Do It Tuss Wednesday. Hey, Jax, how you doing?
I'm doing good. Are you excited for your new format of First Story?
Oh yes, major programming update. We are not keeping it in our pants today. We are actually doing the First Story as Dancing with the Stars, which is good because honestly I have more thoughts this week than maybe ever.
And I think it's only going to continue to happen as the weeks go on and the competition gets stiffer.
1,000%. Now I just want to say, I know we said yesterday was the only day we were going to make a big deal about the Golden Globes thing, and of course like I'm done talking about it, but I do want to say just sort of like a sort of beautiful coincidence of this news is like a lot of people just like assume we've been nominated for a Golden Globe.
Yes.
My in-laws texted me this morning.
I got a text from some friends being like, congratulations, with like a beautiful text about like how proud they are of me. And I just like had to reply.
It's devastating to be like, I've actually not been nominated yet. I'm eligible for a nomination. And they're like, what?
I've been nominated to be nominated.
Potentially. Um, so I'm actually done correcting people from here on out.
I completely agree. 'Cause then I was in the text with Zach and they like wrote to me and I wrote back, no, no, no, nomination for a nomination.
Um, but thanks.
But thanks. And he was like, you don't have to like correct. I was like, yes, I do.
Oh my God. There is such a difference between being nominated and being nominated to be nominated. And unfortunately, maybe it depends on the person, but like, I guess at the same time, both my in-laws like watched the clip 'cause I was asleep, but they sent me a message being like, we are so proud of you. And it broke my heart.
Did the clip not make it clear? I guess—
No, the thing is like other categories don't have this. Like you just go into a movie and you know what I mean? Like—
But also in the clip we only like put in like 5 other shows.
So it sounds like the 5 nominees—
So it looks like that's us being nominated.
Yeah.
We didn't do that on purpose.
And I'm not upset.
But we didn't need to say the names of 30 other shows.
No, and for the purpose of the clip, like we needed to kind of get the information.
But, um, Yeah.
I'm done from here on out, unless you're like related to me, I'm done correcting you.
Yeah, agreed. We are nominated to be nominated, um, and we'll leave it at that. It's been such an honor, all the, you know, the outreach. Yeah, of course. So many, and so many people like want this for us, random people. I know.
I literally like the depths of my phone, I didn't even know I had some people's numbers. People are like, how do we get you this nomination?
Yeah, everybody's like really invested in it.
Yeah, I don't know if the Hollywood Foreign Press accepts bribes, but I'm definitely open. No, I'm kidding. I would never. I would never.
They would never accept bribes.
No, they would never.
Uprising.
'Cause we're such an outstanding institution.
Institution.
It's true. The good thing about what I believe the Hollywood Foreign Press to be is like the cream rises and we are creamy as hell.
We are.
Yeah.
We are. Just when you think we can't get creamier.
There we go. Cream. Right.
Bam.
Cream.
Bam. That was a good catchphrase from Emeril Lagasse.
Was his bam?
Bam. Yeah. He would like throw something in.
Bam. Oh, that is good.
You know?
I wonder why Ben doesn't look up to Emeril.
It might be like too close to home, you know?
Yeah, Ben is like Gemril, Jewish Emeril. He was Italian.
But I wonder why. I think Emeril like predates his peak, like predates Ben's.
Emeril's OG, like.
Yeah, and me— but you should ask him his thoughts on Emeril.
There's no time like the present.
And that was good. Bam!
Bam!
What's your, um—
My catchphrase?
What are your thoughts on Emeril, question mark, the chef? Emeril, how do you spell Emeril?
E-M-E-R-I-L. I feel like next season of Dancing with the Stars, Emeril Lagasse will be on.
Oh, he could be the next Guillermo.
He could be the next Guillermo.
We have so much to discuss. Obviously the dances, the music, the elimination. We will be discussing it in our first story. That's pretty much all I did last night. Like, it was a whole affair. Like, I got ice cream. Like, I planned my whole night around it.
And then after 10 o'clock, I had to read the tweets.
Of course.
So I couldn't even use like my like buffer 20 minutes to finish my other show. When the session is, I really only need 20 minutes, but then it was like 10:30 and that's a wrap.
Watching Dancing with the Stars now kind of reminds me of how I used to watch like The Bachelor.
Mm-hmm.
Where it was this global event. I used to live tweet it. You'd be like making content, reacting to content, reading content. And it was like, it's so OG. I, last night was such a good episode. Some episodes are better than others. I find, I find like last week was boring.
Yeah, I was also just—
Sat.
Tuned in, you know?
Yeah.
And ready and excited. I think I was doing some admin on my computer.
And I was as well this last week, but like, I'm, I am looking forward to the 1-hour episodes if, if that comes at some point.
No, I think the dances get longer because now I'm watching old dances. Who did I just— I just watched an amazing dance. I didn't know either of the 2 people, pro or the star. I think he was an athlete and the dance was really long. And I think that's what happens like with free when, when they get to like final 4. The dances get really long, then they do 2 dances. So yeah, yeah, and then they do 2 dances.
Then they do 2 dances. All right, so we'll put a cork in the Dewittus for like one more minute. Anything else you wanna talk about before we just like do what we gotta do?
Not much. Today's the 3rd anniversary of October 7th.
Oh my God, thank you so much for bringing that up.
It's a shit day. However, like on the Jewish calendar, it's like it happened on Simchat Torah. So like Simchat Torah was a few days ago. So like the anniversary has been just like this week in general. It also feels like 9/11, like a lot of content leading up. So I feel like I've been processing a lot. So it doesn't feel like just today and then like it ends tomorrow, 'cause it really never ends.
I was also thinking about like, of this as 9/11, just 'cause like when you're like planning an event or something and you see something's on 9/11, you're like gonna avoid that date. And that really is how I feel about 10/7. Like it's such a spooky day.
It's true.
It's terrible. And I can't believe it's been 3 years.
I know.
And I know actually we have a lot of listeners who joined us after our October 7th episode.
So October 7th toasters.
Yes. Thank you so much for being here. And I know we have a lot of people who left after the October 7th episode, and thank you so much for leaving.
Get the fuck out.
Get the fuck out. It was a beautiful, um, sort of journey.
Yeah.
And I'm so glad you guys are here.
Yeah, happy you guys are here. It's a very—
Not to like make it about us.
No, yeah, but of course, but of course. Um, it's just a very heavy day for the Jewish people and for humanity, I would say. If you, if you have humanity inside of you, um, I would expect that it's upsetting.
It is. And like seeing all the content, like reliving it brings back so much like bad memories. Like, I just like, of that week and all the things unfolding and all the stories coming out. And like, honestly, being pregnant, like I really cannot watch a lot of it. It's like really difficult. Um, so yeah, just—
I've also heard, I don't watch, but Fauda, the new season of Fauda is apparently amazing. It's an amazing like show. It's like an Israeli spy thriller. People love it. People have loved it for years. I think it's really well done and like everyone talks about it. I think people who hate Israel even like it.
You know, it's like a very, very popular show about like Middle Eastern, like a geopolitical, very spy Mossad.
Security guys. Yes. Spy Mossad, which is like good stuff, you know, classic Olivia Ashray.
Yeah.
And it's not like inherently political, so people really like it.
Yeah.
But they did this season.
This season they are up to October 7th, and so they cover October 7th. And what I've heard, they've done a really good job with it. And I think also in the last few seasons, you can see how their perspective has sort of changed since October 7th and some of the stuff that they were doing in the first few seasons, like just isn't happening anymore.
I cannot bring myself to watch. I've heard it's like a very, very, um, difficult episode of TV to watch.
And also the show— like, I don't watch a lot of TV like that in general, so like, I, I don't watch the show.
You don't watch The Blacklist?
No, right, right. Um, because I'm not Olivia.
Yeah, right.
But, um, if you're looking for something to watch, I've heard amazing reviews.
Me too.
I recommend, especially if you want to like understand what happened that day and the years before. It's just like, it's a really great show.
Yeah. Um, okay, so anything else you wanna chitchat about before we dive in? I'm wearing a dress. I just feel like you guys probably can't see it. Um, I've just sort of given up on trying to like do anything besides be comfortable in this weather. It is so hot. I'm not even like that pregnant to the point where I'm uncomfortable. It's just hot. Like, I think I would be wearing this dress even if I wasn't pregnant, but I feel that if I have like an extra sort of like pep in my step, a little flair, a little je ne sais quoi, um, it's because I'm wearing a dress. You probably can't tell, but—
this morning and I was just like, I'm so sick of this.
Getting dressed?
Like, just, I don't know, I, I need some sort of like—
Makeover?
Not like, just energization. I, I feel like I've been on websites and for the first time I'm like, I want to go to their lookbooks. I want to be inspired by something.
You need a stylist.
Yeah, like, I, I feel like I want to find like a style that I like, but I'm also sort of like £10 away from like really wanting to do that.
So just wait.
So I'm just waiting. So I put on another sweater.
Listen, you look great.
I mean, that's my whole closet is sweaters and I love sweaters and I don't know why, like, I'm just like—
I love sweaters.
I'm just feeling, and I, by the way, while I was doing admin on my computer last night, I ordered 7 more sweaters from Old Navy.
You can never have enough sweaters.
I have all sorts of sweaters. I love sweaters. I don't know. I'm just feeling like a little uninspired.
You're kind of like Josie at the mall. Cardigans.
Always cardigans for me, but I don't know. So I've been like, I've been looking for inspiration. I've been looking for inspo.
Well, you should follow some influencers. That's like a great way to—
Yeah.
To expand your style.
Yeah, I, I mean, I follow a lot of—
I mean, I do think you should start dressing like more slutty, for sure.
For sure. No, I'm trying to think like my— I love like Molly Mae. That's like the style that I love, but that's like what I'm wearing.
And like, has Maybe done a drop recently?
I did search Maybe drop recently, and let me tell you why I didn't buy anything.
Oh, also, did you get anything on Prime Day?
Yes, I got a vacuum.
Oh, so smart to buy a vacuum on Prime Day.
I bought a bunch of survival stuff.
Matches?
No, like it all came in the mail.
Dried fruit?
Zach's like, what is this? No, it was like, there one, I just got like a big first aid kit. That's just like a good thing to have. Okay. But I, I got this like reel from this influencer who was just like talking about like a couple good things to have in the house.
Hurricane preparedness.
Her, yeah.
Like, uh, Judy, remember Judy?
Yeah. But this, this, I got something that was like a little radio that has a flashlight.
Oh, she's crazy. Oh, if I was Zach and I saw you opening that up too.
Wait, wait.
And I got doomsday prep. What?
Doomsday prep.
Yeah, that's you.
And then this was the craziest thing.
Oh, not the radio clock radio.
I got these things that are like these big, they almost look like big like hoses and they're straws and you basically can put them in any body of water and drink it and they filter them and it filters the water.
I've seen those like reels.
So in case we ever need to drink some lake water, right? We have potable water.
Well, that's so great for you.
I just like saw this influencer, she made this video of like good things to have in your house. Yes. I always see stuff like that and like I don't buy it and then I clicked through to their Amazon. I was like, it's Prime Day. Yeah.
Back in the day when everyone was doing those Judy preparedness kits, like I got one in gifting and I was like, oh yeah, I'm set. Like it sat in my closet forever. A couple years ago I did get rid of it. I, I do think they like expire at some point and I don't have anything currently.
Yeah. It's just like good stuff to have.
I had a landline for many years.
Especially like here we have crazy weather. We do have hurricanes. We haven't had a hurricane this season, but in lieu of a hurricane, we've had insane weather. Yep. And it's just always good to be prepared.
I got a TV.
I don't know, I was influenced.
I got a TV.
That's good. What kind?
A Samsung Frame, of course.
All right, that's why you texted me.
I texted you, and thank you so much for not responding.
I can't—
I actually just can't stress how helpful it is when you do that.
Um, maybe it does have cute stuff.
When in doubt, maybe.
Interesting.
All right, let's dive into the— to the Fast Five, specifically the Dancing with the Stars recap that I personally just can't wait to get to. Okay.
Do you get anything else for Prime Day that you wanted to talk about?
No, but it's still not over today, so I still have other things to get.
Mhm. Yeah, something else.
What? I, I, I didn't like sit down and do enough. Like, I need to.
I know, when I see everyone like posting all their slides like they got Prime Day in hand, I'm like—
I know, I'm not— some years I'm really on top of it and some years I'm not. And I'm sorry, I'm just not this year. That's okay.
I'm just not.
But I got a TV. I feel like that's good.
That's a great thing. That's perfect. And I got a vacuum. Like, I feel like that.
But you know, I have like conspiracy theories about Prime Day.
Of course, that they jack up the prices just to—
Over the course of the next, like, look at that, the few weeks leading up.
Like, don't spoil the magic.
A dollar a day, they go up, up, up, up, up, and then boom, look, it's $50 off. It was $50 less last week, you know? Like—
That's like telling people Santa isn't real. Like, don't ruin the magic.
Um, okay, not you like working for Amazon and their corporate greed.
No, I just like, I love, it's so festive, you know?
Yeah.
We're all celebrating.
Scamming Americans is festive. I agree.
Oh no, the commie is coming. I'm just like, cardboard coating.
Even though when I, when I bought the TV, it was like a couple hundred dollars off and it was actually a lot off. And I'm like, mm, I don't know. This is very un-Prime-like. So I did some research with chat. I was like, how much does this TV cost? Mm-hmm. Chat swears that it wasn't marked up.
Mm-hmm.
So maybe like, this is just a theory though.
And did you buy your frame yet? I know that always—
No. You know, that kills me. You can't buy the frames on TV. You have to go more like artisan.
Did you get the 100-inch?
I got the 98.
The, yeah, they, um, I might have a frame.
Oh wow.
You might not like it. It was like my placeholder frame, the one you saw, the gray— like gray, like slate.
I am like allergic to gray. I think it's the ugliest color on the planet.
Yeah, slate though.
Slate gray or slate smiley?
This is not my slate.
Um, I'll take a look. Thank you so much, that's very generous.
Like, just try to help out Bradley.
Oh my God, I'm so glad you brought up Bradley. You guys know Bradley on a Budget, my favorite TikToker who like does frugal living, but he actually like just—
He's living like—
Lives in filth. No. Oh, well, you know, there are theories that like his whole, um, lifestyle on social media is completely fabricated and like everything he films in that disgusting apartment of his is like a set and he like lives in a normal house.
Tea.
He's moving.
I don't know where to, but he did a video that he's moving his apartment. Do you think he's still gonna be relatable?
Well, he's like the opposite end of the spectrum. Like, while Mikaela Nogueira is not relatable anymore because she buys like, you know, $200,000 shopping sprees, Bradley on a Budget is no longer relatable, and he hasn't been ever since he started like saving napkins from takeout and using them as toilet paper. He does the most insane things ever. Jackie, he has a twin XL mattress that like he stole from a college.
Why'd he steal? Well, theft is not okay.
No, not steal. Like, they were giving it away, you know? Like, he took it legally. Sorry, but like, it's a used college dorm twin XL bed. Like the, the frame too.
That's better than you that sleeps on a piece of cardboard.
I don't sleep on cardboard. I actually sleep on a $5,000 mattress.
No, no, no. But like your predecessor, the cardboard.
Yes.
He slept on a piece of cardboard.
Also, things that Bradley does that are like actually insane that like send people is that he has one towel.
And sometimes it feels like I have one towel.
100%. But you don't. And does your towel have a huge hole in it and like yellow stains? His towel—
Bronze stains.
His towel is so insane. Yeah, but the thing about bronzer is that it's water-based. It always comes out. Spray tan comes out.
But doesn't it sometimes feel like you only have one towel?
Yeah, of course.
Literally, of course.
And it's always wet. Like, literally.
I have 100 towels in this house. Why am I always using this one?
I use the same one every time and it's always a little wet. Like I, and I hang it up. I'm like a Nazi about how I hang up my towels. Ben will like hang it up in a ball and then it's wet. He's like, my towel smells. I'm like, well, you didn't hang it properly. Hanging is an art. I am crazy about how I hang my towels. It's always just a little wet.
Yeah.
You know?
And there's always just the one. There's always like a little brown towel. That you don't even remember buying.
1,000%.
Where are my custom Wheezy towels? I can't find them.
Well, Bradley actually has— you have probably like 25 towels. He has one towel. One. And it's not even a whole one. It's like half because it has a huge hole in it.
It's like people and their blankie.
It looks like someone's like stringy-ass, moldy-ass, crusty-ass blankie that like smells like an anus. Yeah, that's exactly what it looks like.
Does Bradley have a woman in his life? Bradlina?
Bradley, no.
Bradley has a man.
Well, he doesn't actually have a man, but he is gay. And he does like OnlyFans content, which he says like really makes it hard for him to— that's the thing about Bradley, 'cause he also is very transparent about his money. So he makes like 6 figures a month. He is not poor, that's the thing. A lot of people think he has financial trauma. Um, he's not poor, and so that's why it's very frustrating for people to see him acting like that. Like, you literally aren't even poor.
Yeah, or even like medium. Like, you're wealthy. You're a wealthy man.
You're 1%. And wait, why did I— oh, so, and so he does OnlyFans content.
Is there any world in which like this is his persona online, he has his porn account—
That's a new theory about Bradley.
And then he goes home to his estate.
So people really, um, have started to believe, because it's becoming so not believable, especially when he shares his finances. Not only does he make so much money on social media, TikTok creator fund, things like that, he has the OnlyFans business, which is extremely lucrative.
What does he do on OnlyFans?
I've never checked it out. I don't know. Um, OnlyFans—
Does he show bits?
I would assume, yes. I would assume. Um, but he also has like 8 other side jobs. He dog sits.
He—
his full-time job is like a marketing something or whatever. He volunteers on a crisis hotline. Um, He house sits. No, sorry, it's paid. Bradley does not volunteer.
Sorry.
No. Um, and he, um, like house sits. He does like a lot of like, like side gigs. So he makes like well over $100 grand a month.
Wow.
Yeah. So a lot of people have started to think that like, it's so not believable that you would live at— Jackie, this place, you would die. Like his one pan, it would send you— like the Teflon chemicals, it would send you into a coma if you saw Bradley's pans. I'm gonna start downloading and sending it to you.
It's not non-toxic?
No, it's not non-toxic. It's not Caraway.
That's disappointing.
Yeah. Um, so you're obviously like joining the Bradley Bandistas. That's what we call ourselves.
I appreciate the recaps from you, much like Friends. I don't want to watch it firsthand.
No, I think you actually do. Like, I don't feel like you fully understand like the level of filth. You want me to show you?
Just show me.
Just show me vibes.
Oh wow, okay.
Just show me vibes.
I'll let you know if it piques my interest.
Oh, and do you know what he calls his fans?
The Bradlino?
You're gonna love this. By the way, I went to search on TikTok Bradley on a Budget, and the first thing is Bradley on a Budget Bentley. They think he has a Bentley. All right, this is his frugal apartment tour. You should watch that one. Okay, okay, blue shirt, tap it.
I didn't even know what he looks like.
He's handsome.
He's hand—
I love to live as cheap as possible.
This is— okay, this is not what I was expecting.
I didn't have to buy most of the furniture in my apartment. I found it for free, either on the side of the road or if people were throwing things out or giving things away. I said I will gladly take it, including this college dorm mattress that I've slept on. How do you pause this?
Tap Grandma.
Okay, his caption is, financial trauma taught me well, haha.
Oh, because he knows the joke. He knows the theories.
Also under my bed, I keep a regift bin of things I've collected over the years. Not just things I've been gifted, like I got this When I taught a budgeting class, I found this Louis Vuitton box on the ground when I was in New York City, and this is the way I make—
But why do you need an empty Louis Vuitton box?
A pillow?
No, it's tiny. It's like where you put a keychain.
I think that like he would maybe one day like put a gift for someone else in that box, you know? It wouldn't be Louis Vuitton.
It's just a box.
Yeah, right, right. To him.
Gift giving afford— my clothing hamper is barely hanging in there, but it still holds the clothes, so I don't care. These are not curtains. They are bed sheets. I had an extra set of bed sheets, so instead of buying curtains, I used them. If you came over to hang out with me, you would see almost nothing is plugged in. I like keeping everything unplugged when I'm not using it to try to keep the electric—
I would love to know what Martha Stewart thinks about this.
Oh, you're done?
Yeah, I'm done.
You didn't even get to the toilet paper napkins part. Like, that's the craziest thing. And the towel. Wait, let me just find the towel. I need you to see this towel. Here, I'll turn the volume down. You talk and I'm gonna find the towel.
Oh, you're gonna find the towel? Joy, what a treat for me. Yeah.
Oh, oh, here. Okay, so this drawer—
I eat the same food every single day. If you open this random drawer, it holds all of my toilet paper scraps. And of course my sponge is cut in half because it helps me extend the life of the sponge. If you need to throw something out, it is a good tip. Not trash bags, I've always used these paper bags.
Of course, everyone does that. Everyone knows that.
None of my silverware matches. I got this bundle from a tag sale shortly after I moved in. I also never had to buy paper towels Because anytime I use paper towels, I just let them dry and I reuse them. I'm sure people—
He dries his paper towels.
He should get reusable paper towels. And I'm sure like brands—
We just have a sponsor.
Are sending him so much stuff. I don't believe it.
Oh, okay. So you're a part— oh, and I didn't tell you what he calls his fans. We're the budget baddies.
We should be bratties.
Totally. No, he's been getting a lot of hate. I'm sending him a lot of love.
Are you?
Yeah. I'm always wishing the best for Bradley.
You are?
I'm always wishing the best for my fellow human being. Yes, I am.
That's beautiful.
Except for Robert Herjavec.
Stop. I feel like I have to love Robert Herjavec so much.
To like negate, yeah.
The hatred.
Even though, you know, I'm kind of like falling off of him. He's not really on my list so much anymore. I know.
Now it's just a running joke, but like, he's a nice guy.
Yeah, I guess like Adam Levine is like new on my list.
Yeah. Pete Davidson.
Oh, he's like the president of the list.
Yeah, that works for me.
Me too.
Let's get into the Fast Five stories that you need to know.
And speaking of Prime Day, the Fast Five stories that you need to know are brought to you by GU Skin. And if you don't know, today is Prime Day. Our favorite K-beauty sponsor GU has the best Prime deals on Amazon right now. So Jackie and I are always talking about their viral toner pads. Jackie actually like just bought them organically through—
I was influenced through an AI ad and I was like, okay.
I got them too. We love them. And now they're a sponsor of ours, which is so exciting.
You guys, I'm about to look— get carded. That's how young I look. And people are like, I feel like people are always commenting about my skin recently. Mm-hmm. And it's these pads.
So They help with dark spots, which I think a lot of people struggle with, especially through like the various stages of womanhood, pregnancy. Um, and you will actually like notice a visible difference. Um, I use them in the morning. They're like freezing cold. They feel so good on like a puffy face.
It's a great way to depuff. You know, you're supposed to put your face in an ice bath. No, just use these pads.
They have other products too, like the NAD+ moisturizer pairs really well with the toner pads. They're super easy to order on Amazon.
That's what I use. That's what I used last night. That's what I use like a couple nights a week. I love that moisturizer. It smells good. It, it, it feels like a dupe.
Yeah.
of a very expensive moisturizer I used to use.
Definitely take advantage of their Prime Day deal today. It's the best deal you can get, so now's the time to try them if you've been thinking about it. The toner pads are 30% off for Prime Day only. You have to use code TOASTGU15. It stacks on for another 15%, so that's up to 45% off today. Add them to your cart on Amazon and then use code TOASTJIYU15 at checkout. They're already on sale. We're giving you an extra 15% off. So Prime Day plus Toast code, like, you guys are gonna make out like bandits. TOASTJIYU15, that's the code at checkout for the additional 15% off. Today's episode is also brought to you by GameTime. The GameTime app has tickets. They sell tickets to live events, sports, concerts, comedy, theater, more, turning a regular night into an unforgettable night. Thank you, First Torter.
It's been a pleasure, my daughter.
Our first story, Dancing with the Stars episode 4. Last night was Mariah Carey night on Dancing with the Stars. I didn't know that was a theme.
Me either.
But I liked it.
Amazing theme.
Heartbreak, you got the best of me.
And I feel like you could really tell like who the network is pulling for based on who got what song.
You mean because Emmer Glenn got Hero?
I was waiting, I'm like, who— is no one gonna dance to Hero? My personal favorite Mariah Carey song. And I was like, I wonder if someone's gonna dance to the Christmas song. Like, you could really tell.
Someone should have.
Someone should have. Um, like Guillermo got a great song, Fabiola got a great song. Some people I was like, oh, you're going home because what the hell is this song? I never heard of it before.
Oh, I wasn't really thinking so much about the songs and I wasn't even thinking about like Mariah Carey and what I wanted to hear.
It reminded me of Wicked Night last week, last year.
Yeah.
'Cause you could so tell like whoever got Defying Gravity and like Popular were like the favorites.
No, but there, but it's also what you make of it.
Yes. And every, it's so personal, you know?
'Cause like I could think of a bad dance to Obsessed, like It's not like an amazing song to dance to.
But it's the most popular.
But Guillermo crushed it.
But it's also like, it's easier for people to like your dance when they know and like your song. Do you know what I mean? That's why I felt like Yacht Rock was so boring. Like half the songs I was like, okay, this song sucks, or I don't know it.
Yeah. Well, she got Hero and again, like, what did I feel? Very little. Yes. Even though that song is like one of the most gorgeous songs ever written.
It's true.
She talked about in her memoir how it really became like an anthem after 9/11.
Oh my God, are you talking about— I think you're talking about Amber Glenn. I'm like, you read her memoir?
Mariah Carey's memoirs. Oh, I didn't know that because of all like the— She like sang it, um, like at the 9/11 tribute.
Was she dating Derek Jeter at the time?
There was some— something about the time reminds me of Derek Jeter, so some— he was there somewhere.
Oh, that's like iconic.
And the song just like is a huge song.
It's so beautiful. It is one of the most beautiful. I of course think of the Fifth Harmony cover on X Factor. Um, it's a beautiful tribute.
Yeah, like it's kind of like It's kind of like The Climb, I feel.
Yes, uh, Boomer Climb.
Boomer Climb.
Uh, I'm gonna whip out our group chat from last night just because I kept like my— I can never remember what I think of.
But we're gonna go in order of the dances.
Yes, exactly. And when we were all watching live, we were like writing to each other what we thought, and I just want to refresh myself on my thoughts.
So first up, we had Sierra and Brandon.
They danced. Oh, they were first?
They were first, which—
That's crazy to go home because you get the most time to like garner votes on social media.
They danced to, and people started the episode late, they still get to vote considering her dance. They danced to Emotions, they did some jazz, and she got 3 7s, so a 21 out of 30.
Now, I was so surprised by her dance, and then when I saw Tatiana's, I was a little bit less surprised. I don't know if like the jazz, 'cause Tatiana's was also jazz, and it felt like such a basic dance that I was like—
Like a couple pas de bourrées.
It was like something we did at camp, like for real, like on the dance team. And I was thinking to myself, like, The fact that Maura's like Viennese Waltz, which is like so technical, they spent the same amount of time every day this week like working on the same dance. And I just thought the Brandon one— I thought Tatiana's was actually a lot better, but even I just felt like Jazz is like very basic. I thought his choreography was so poor and he really did her a disservice in like not challenging her even a little bit.
I think also there wasn't a lot of choreography. What I'm starting to notice, and I feel like sometimes the judges say this, is like you could tell when there's like a long pass when they go from corner to corner and they trot down and that's like the step. but there's also a lot of shticky stuff, like boop ba bop, you know? And I feel like Sierra's dance was so much shtick. Whatever like technical things that they had to hit, there wasn't a lot of it.
Agreed.
Meanwhile, other couples that are more advanced, like Maura and Mark, like they're doing choreography the whole time. Agreed.
It was not sophisticated, the dance, at all. And I feel like she wasn't challenged like even a little bit. And I think maybe if she hadn't gone first, her scores would've been much lower.
Yes. Because then when other people—
Amber Glenn got a 7.
Right.
Like, what? It was— so I thought the score— so then I was like, is she gonna go home? And I think a lot of people were surprised that she was the one who went home because she got all 7s. But I think if she hadn't gone first, like, her scores would have been much lower, only because, like, you— it's not a high-scoring dance. Like, you don't get points for—
Yeah, it's like when you do a gymnastics routine but it only has so much difficulty level, you can only go so high.
And people are really upset that she went home. And the thing is, is that maybe it was a little early for her to go home, but I feel like of the people who were in the pot to go home last night. I thought it was, given last week, based on scores—
Given the season so far.
Tyler and Fabula, who both stepped their pussies up really well last night, so they were really not eligible. Jackson and Guillermo. Now Guillermo, I'm sorry, he gets so many votes. He's an ABC employee. People, you could be mad all you want, he's not going home for a little bit. He's obviously not winning.
I want to say, I think— I don't think this show is weighted at all. Maybe except for the winner of the mirrorball. Mm-hmm. But I think on nights like that, like last night, even if they were trying to tip the scales, they can't. They don't really, I think they really, really go by the votes because I think they want Guillermo to go home. Like, I think that it's disruptive. It is disruptive.
Yeah.
And other contestants are mad and fans are mad when they think it's like pity votes. And so everyone voting for Guillermo when he's getting 4s is not what they want. But I really think when in doubt, just like let the vote— like they really shouldn't fix it at all because who should go home? Really, who should go home?
So based on last night, given I know the fact that so many people voted for Guillermo, it really was Jackson or Sierra. Now it could have been either of them, and next week it will be Jackson. And if it was Jackson this week, it might have been Sierra next week. So I'm not like that upset because—
Or Tyler. If Tyler slips, he's probably going home.
Yes, Bibila too. Bibila too. So there were like a couple of people who were up for grabs last night, and she was one of them. Also, and you know, I was thinking about this like at a glance today, you know, you really pull out every trick in the book when you're on Dancing with the Stars. You bring all of your famous friends. There was not one Summer House person who came to the show to support. I didn't see a lot of like, uh, her castmates on social media. That social media carries a lot of currency. I feel like also with the network, like when you're churning out those TikToks, like making a lot of conversation on social media, good and bad, it's ultimately good for the network. Like, they really like to reward that type of behavior. I didn't see a lot of Sierra and Brandon's TikToks on my— and I've seen everything. So I feel like they didn't have a huge impact on social media. And I feel like she didn't get a lot of support from her, like, Bravo family. Like, all the people who were, like, so happy to, like, you know, make the Scamanderball thing about them being, like, coming out, like, Vanita, like, I love Sierra.
Like, where are you? Like, literally not one person from Bravo came. Shout out to Justin Sylvester for being there for her last night. Like, where was literally everyone?
I don't know. And didn't Jesse Solomon just buy a house in LA?
Yeah, he did actually. Thank you so much for bringing that up. I don't know. So it's like, it's obviously about the dances, but it's so much. And I do think like that social media frenzy like really impacts how people vote for you.
Yeah. I think it's also about like your story. And I, I'm surprised that there, that she didn't get more votes. Cuz ultimately I think that's what it came down to. Her scores were comparable with the other people at the bottom. And so like, where were the votes?
Because a lot of that is like with the hype you bring.
Yeah, I guess so. Also, So I do think about like the network, who they want. And I do think when it comes to the mirrorball, like they have their favorites, like Robert Irwin. I don't think he—
But you don't think that like, cuz the 3 people who were up for, at least in my mind, for going home was Jackson, who's being plugged for this Banana-a-thon.
So now I understand why Jackson's on the show.
Jackson will be home next week.
No, but the Banana Bowl is on Saturday on Disney Plus, which is why Jackson Mahomes was cast.
Yes. To pro— to promote this Banana-a-thon.
Jackson Mahomes's brother. Yes. So that's what bananas have to do with ABC. The Banana Bowl, which is the Jackson bananas versus another team of singing based on bananas.
And they're— it's like the first streamed banana stream.
Let me tell you, I'm watching with my kids.
1,000%.
Thank you for letting me know.
Yeah.
The Banana Bowl is streaming on Disney Plus. It's on Saturday. So next week they can't even promote the Banana Bowl anymore.
He, by the way, and he will be going home next week. Guillermo lives to see another day. That's what I'm saying.
I think he could have gone home this week if it really is someone pulling the strings based on relevancy.
He could have.
Yes, he could have. And ABC contracts.
But it's a little bit more convenient for him to go home next week.
You think so?
Why? 'Cause then the banana bowl has an active Dancing with the Stars castmate on it. Like, it's more exciting.
Okay, fine, but I—
Guillermo is a legacy ABC employee. I know you think it's not tipped, and I actually agree with you. Like, Guillermo has become like sort of an inconvenience to the network.
He's a thorn in their side.
But like, you know, Ciara is this like NBC person.
She's an— yeah, NBC.
She's like a competitor. I don't think the network has really any reason to sort of prop her up. And so maybe that's why. I also, I think she just didn't have a lot of—
You could say the same thing for Tyler though.
Yes, absolutely. But Tyler did a very good job last night.
And you could say the same thing for Fabiola.
And also Tyler got me crying. Like Tyler, whenever he talks about his mom, it makes me so emotional. Like he loves her, loved her so much. And like when he was talking about her, I literally started crying. It was so sweet. So like I said, it's a lot of things. It's social media, it's your package.
How do you make people like you? And I guess like when we think about like the fans voting, the ABC connection, the package's packaging, like Sierra didn't have, and the dances. And by the way, Tyler is ABC.
He's The Bachelor.
That's right. He doesn't—
he's not in a contract.
I know, but he's, you know, he's old school, like ABC.
He's not in a contract. I guess he does, um, he does HGTV. He does that show. They're redoing the Bachelor Mansion.
That's HGTV, right?
Isn't that coming out already?
With Tayshia.
Yeah.
Oh, never mind. Okay.
Um, bring it back.
So yeah, so I guess, you know, in— it was going to be one of these pool of people who are going home, and I think it was— I do think it was honest.
Like, yeah, I know, and I know people are really upset.
But surprising.
Same with last week, like people were really upset and it's like, well, we can hold space for both truths. Like, that's our girl, but also like, seriously, who else? Yeah.
And especially last night, the only other person was Jackson. So it's like, seriously, a coin toss.
Yeah.
And exactly. And it will be Jackson next week.
Yeah.
Like, bye. And it was also his birthday.
So. Then we had Ezra Frech and Dingella Karagach.
They danced.
That's Ezra Frech. He's really handsome.
Oh my God. He looked so hot last night. Is he straight or gay? I couldn't tell. I feel like he's straight. I feel like he's straight. I'm in love with him. He's obviously winning. Like, it's so— it's not even a question to me. When I think about the top 4, I think about Ezra, Maura, maybe like a Harry Shum or a Jenna.
Or Jenna, not both.
Yeah, no, just one of them. And who else is like dazzling?
Guillermo.
Tatiana.
For me, it's Guillermo.
Whatever. He's so clearly the winner. Like, seriously, who cares who goes home when? Because like everyone can go home now. It's obviously Ezra. He is so coming into himself, and I can't I cannot say enough positive things about him, his life, his journey, his challenges, like, and Daniella.
Like, I just— I can't say enough positive things about Daniella.
I just adore them.
She's an insane pro.
Her body is insane.
No, but like the way that she's able to, like, she gets like, who would even be like the most desirable male cast? We were just talking about this with Taylor Hanson. Who would you want and who would you not want? Like, it feels like her—
For a partner.
For a partner. Whoever she gets, like, she puts a light, shines a light on.
Yeah, absolutely.
And like really highlights their strengths.
Absolutely.
So they're amazing to watch. I absolutely love them. Then we had Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson.
And so as you guys know, like, there's a list of 3 people on this show who make me feel nothing: Harry Shum Jr., Jenna Johnson, and Amber Glenn. The 3 people who are the best. And last week—
I'm gonna add a 4th to the list.
Who?
Julia Stiles.
Okay. Last week, um, Jenna Johnson graduated from the list because I actually felt like I felt something when I watched her. Jenna Dewan. What did I say? Jenna Johnson. Jenna Dewan. And last night, um, bear with us, with the cameo of Mercedes Jones— I almost said Mercedes Javid— Mercedes Jones, Harry Shum Jr. graduated off the list because when I was watching the dance, I felt nothing. And then at the end when it was over and they cut to Amber Riley, former Dancing with the Stars champion and Glee cast member—
She won the mirrorball?
Yes, with Derek Hough.
Oh, I didn't know that.
Yeah. So it was like a Glee, Dancing with the Stars. That's exactly what I'm looking for. That's what I said, like, about Ciara. Like, you bring your people.
Yes.
Thank you, Harry Shum Jr. Whosever idea was to have Amber Riley sing, genius. Tens, tens, tens across the board. I don't even remember his dance. I don't care.
I don't remember his dance. I felt nothing.
Literally, when I'm writing in our chat, I said, oh my God, Amber, I love that. Like, that's all I thought for Harry's whole dance.
What did I say? Oh, I said something about Harry, didn't I? What did I say?
Yeah, you said, I feel like They're acting like Harry Shephard Jr.'s a real doctor with how he has to run in and out of the ER. That is funny.
And he's like coming to set in scrubs. Like, they're seriously acting like he's a doctor.
That's true. And like in the parking lot of the hospital.
We're going to the hospital, not just the set of Grey's Anatomy.
Cracking up.
It did feel that way. Um, then they got 24 out of 30, so it's 3 8s. Great for them. Then Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy, they went But with a slower dance, they finally, you know, turned down the speed and she was able to express herself and—
I'm not like really following like what everyone's saying.
No, no, no, I hear the—
'cause she's so— No, I heard it last week. She's so nutty.
Yeah, jam and break. She's nuts. And it's like, we're not feeling— that's why we're not feeling anything. She goes so hard and it's just like, huh? And of course it's good dancing, but it's— we're not feeling something. It's not emotive.
I'm back to not really caring about her. She's back. She's been demoted to the D-leagues. I don't know, when Carrie Ann was getting emotional, I'm like, what are we crying about? Like, I don't under— I'm a little bit lost on her arc, you know?
Yeah, this was a good dance for her.
Sure.
She looked really amazing. She's— and Harry are supposed to be like the Jordan Fishers of the season, right? And I'm still not feeling that.
Also, the fact that Harry Shum Jr. danced to a song that he was in the music video for just proves how he's like really not eligible to be on the show.
A professional dancer.
That's insane.
I didn't know that that's what happened. That's hysterical. Um, then Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess.
I just love that Tyler Cameron, and I feel like he really wants to prove himself, and I just love him. Like, I'm so biased when it comes to him, and I thought he did a really good job. And his dance, like, wasn't easy. Sometimes with the guys, they, like, give them easy stuff, so it's like, good job, you just stood there. No, I thought his dance was, like, technically difficult. He's improving, and that's all I'm personally looking for.
Yeah, and I think, like, he should make it—
A few more weeks.
To the end of, like, this, you know, major, 'cause there's a people, a couple people, like, in the in the bottom half.
Yes.
And I think he should make it through.
Me too. The bottom half, um, barring, you know, significant improvement or like significant decline, like let's say he falls or something. Um, and he, you know, ended the dance giving a rose to his lady love, his fiancée Tate. A lot of people think that was maybe because, you know, last week when they were dancing, they like cut to Hannah Brown.
Okay.
And everyone was like talking about how disrespectful that was. Um, and so I think maybe it was like Tyler taking his power back, being like, this is my lady.
Yeah, like put the camera on her.
Yeah, give her a flower and a big kiss.
That's cute. That's cute.
Yeah.
That's cute.
Very cute.
Then we have Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas. They scored a 25 out of 30, which was the highest score—
The first 9.
Um, the first 9 of the season. What did Amber get? She got—
She ate 87.
Okay, so Maura and Mark had the highest scores of the night. They did a Viennese waltz. It was very beautiful.
It was insane. And that's when I was like, it was really— that's when it became kind of obvious to me that Sierra might be going home, just because like I was like, these are 2 different dances. Like 2 different— the technical level is— and what Maura said, what Mark said about Maura, like, is so true. She does have this like—
Untapped talent.
Innate ability just to dance. It was such a skilled dance. Like, I don't know if they do like difficulty scorings, like you said, like they do in gymnastics. Hers seemed so difficult and she was so graceful and she's a top, top performer. In the audience for her was Lexi Wood, and Lexi Wood posted on social media, 10,000 times that she was there for @MauraHiggins. Like, I feel like she didn't want anyone to think that she was gonna be there for Sierra.
Honestly, I saw some like tweets being like, oh my God, crazy that Lexi's there for Maura, not Sierra. Like, why would she ever be there for Sierra?
No, it's crazy that she's there for Maura. Sure, how these two know each other, no clue. In no world would Lexi would ever fly across the country for Sierra. They barely talk.
They're like ops. They are.
She was like— her— the boy she was seeing over the summer was flirting with Sierra.
Worse than not friends, they were enemies.
1,000%. So But I think Lexi just didn't want anyone to assume. She kept being like, for Maura! And she posted a picture of her seat which said like, Lexi Wood, Maura, friends and family. Like, she was just like, Maura, Maura, Maura.
I need to know how they're friends.
That's so—
I know, so random.
I like the friendship.
Me too.
Maybe just like gorgeous girls doing gorgeous things.
They gravitate towards one another. That's obviously what happened with us.
Um, her dance was amazing. I thought what everyone was saying about her was like so sweet. I also didn't realize that Bruno last week had said that she dances like, like Audrey Hepburn. Yeah, because I said that.
Oh, did you?
I said that like 2 weeks ago.
Ah yeah, I don't know Audrey Hepburn danced.
No, like there's just something like, like a gracefulness, something Audrey Hepburn about her. I can't explain it. Okay, what was said?
You don't have to explain. Oh, um, Lexi Wood there for Maura. She was friends and family, and you said, hmm, um, titillating. And then I said her dance compared to Sierra's in terms of choreography I was obviously onto something. They obviously like think we're judges. Well, I'm— in my texts, like, I am practicing for this. Like, I'm cultivating my thoughts.
Oh, and also, I'm— no, I'm just like spewing my thoughts to friends. Like, what else do people do?
Yeah.
Uh, then Guillermo and Whitney.
And here's what I said. So Carrie-Anne gave Guillermo like—
Oh wait, we have to talk about the dance first. Guillermo and Whitney, they danced to Obsessed. They were in New York all week because Jimmy Kimmel was in New York, so Whitney was in New York with K-Money.
Poor girl flying across the country. Like, poor girl.
And, um, you know, Obsessed is like very much a diva anthem, so they channeled their inner diva.
Paparazzi and autographs.
And he was like giving like—
It was amazing.
His diva— he was serving.
Um, he continues to bring—
He was serving us.
Everything we need him to bring.
Yes. And the dances continue to give us that like spark of joy and that moment that we always need.
And then Carrie Ann, I feel like maybe in an industry plant type of way, is like planting seeds for Guillermo to go home because the whole point of Guillermo is that he brings joy and that he's full of joy and he's fun to watch. And in his critiques, obviously everyone was like, you didn't move your feet, whatever, like you stood there, which is all valid. You laid on the floor. All valid criticism. And then Carrie Ann was like, I don't know what's with you today, I just feel like you've lost your spark, like you're not finding joy in this. And collectively, I think we all were like, what the fuck are you talking about? And here's what I wrote. You said They're coming for Guillermo. Oh my God, acting like he's not joyous. I said, what the fuck is Carrie Ann saying? She wouldn't know joy if it spit her in the mouth. Like, are we okay? You said, I feel like she's trying to take away the thing that everyone loves about him and be like, oh my God, Guillermo, you're not having fun. And then I said, yeah, so it makes sense if they send him home.
You said Whitney's face is like, whoa.
Whitney's face, she's literally— this was her face.
It's the most— it's a shocking— you can critique literally everything about Guillermo's performance except the joy.
Yeah, and also maybe you missed the point, but like, he's serving diva tonight.
And he said, I wrote down, and quote, being a diva is hard.
Like, he's— his whole thing was like, so what, you mistook his bitch face for not having joy? The dance was full of joy. And for me, like, this is— I want Guillermo to go all the way. Fine, maybe not the mirrorball because Ezra deserves it, or Maura deserves it.
No, he shouldn't even make it to the mirrorball. He should make the top 4.
He should make— like, but the thing is, like, I come to this show for a lot of things, and entertainment being one of them. And I can be entertained by an amazing dance, Jordan Fisher style. I can also be entertained by comedy and humor and good fun and love.
Of course, there are a lot of ways to skin a cat.
Guillermo is one of the most entertaining performers on the show.
1,000%.
So I would say top 3, actually. Yeah, I only vote for him and Ezra.
Yeah.
I don't vote for Maura yet because I don't feel like she needs me to vote. She scored the highest.
Right.
And I hate texting 10 times. I feel like—
I hate voting. Like, I hate it.
I hate it. Like, can't I just write Ezra x10 and you get the point?
100%.
No, you need my text message dollars.
Yeah, you do.
Um, but once the competition stiffens up, I will be voting for Maura.
Yeah, I am like overvoting. I just vote for Guillermo because—
I vote for Guillermo because he needs our votes. He relies on votes, right? Powered by votes. Yes. And I vote for Ezra just because like my fingers can't help themselves.
I know, they just like sort of do their thing.
Like I'm overpowered. Like I have to make sure Ezra gets Then Savannah Bananas, Jackson Olsen, and Emma Slater.
He was like actually making me sad. And I feel like part of the reason why maybe Sierra was the one to go home and not Jackson was because like you could feel his sadness radiating through the TV. Like he's gotten so much hate this week. All the prediction markets were saying like he's the one going home. It's his birthday. And the fans have really, really turned on him on social media cuz he made that like silly comment about Guillermo. Like it was so inoffensive.
Um, and Guillermo forgave him and they TikTok together.
And like move on.
Yeah.
But the fans have just like decided they hate him now. And he just looked so sad and broken. And like, honestly, I think he's— of all of them, like we said, he's going back and forth from Savannah. Um, I think he's like kind of not having fun anymore, and I just felt sad for him. So I think maybe he got like a couple of pity votes.
Oh.
His dance stunk.
He got a 21. Yeah, it is crazy that he didn't go home. Sierra got a 20. What did Sierra get?
21.
Oh, same exact score.
Same score. So it comes down to votes, but she also went first, and I just feel like Had she not, her score would've been lower.
Right. No, but they have the same score, so they're even there. So then when it comes down to which of the two of them is going home, it's completely about votes. So Savannah got more votes than Sierra.
And you saw they brought, um, Jackson a birthday cake that was sponsored by Paris Baguette.
I didn't see that. I must've been looking down.
Yeah, it's a Paris Baguette birthday cake.
That's funny. Um, then Tatiana Ali and Jan Ravnick, they got a 20 out of 30.
Yeah.
Um, they get less than Sierra and Jackson.
I feel like Jazz is a, like a bad style, like, because both the jazz dances were really underwhelming in terms of their level of difficulty and like the way, like the way I felt, like I was not impressed. She's my girl, so I'm glad that she wasn't even in the bottom. I think she has a lot of fans, like I think her social media impact has been quite large.
I just can't believe like we're 50 minutes into the show and this is still the first story. That's why, um, I feel like that's why it goes at the end.
Well, no, but it goes at the end, like then it's shorter. We don't want it to be shorter.
Yes. Julia Stiles with Ed Sarsosa, 21 out of 30. That's low.
Yeah, I feel like—
I'm surprised she didn't go. So she also got more votes than Savannah. No, than Sierra.
People do love her, and she's also like a good, like a big name. Do you know what I mean? A lot of people on this cast are like not that famous, and she's a big name. So I think it behooves them to continue to work with her.
I know, like you keep saying that someone is doing this. I really feel like there's no right person to go home.
I know you think it's like a complete level playing field. I don't know why.
I think it's complete democracy. I think it's one of the most secure elections in the world.
Well, I think that, um, if I remember from Masked Singer, they take like TV standards and practices, like legally on a competition show, is very serious. Um, and they're actually really not allowed legally to tip the scales.
I feel that in the Dancing with the Stars universe. I do. Then Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov, they danced to Hero. 23 out of 30. Some of the criticism—
Carrie-Anne was really coming for her.
Like, um, I, I thought that their critiques— they obviously dance beautifully. She's an amazing dancer. She has amazing form and figure, and like, she's a pleasure.
And she can do the tricks and the twists and the turns.
Just like sculptural and everything. Um, but they're not like—
they have no chemistry.
They have no chemistry.
They have no friendship. Like, their packages, their social media, they never come across my feed ever. Um, I don't think that they actually like just connect in emotional way.
Yeah.
And it's not translating physically.
I agree.
It's just this sort of like bland—
It's like just 2 people dancing beside each other.
Dancing well.
Dancing very well.
Yeah. But she won't go home for a while.
No, no, no. She's very technically, um, proficient.
Yeah.
And that was the week. Then Sierra and Brandon went home, which was a shock.
But it was—
As we've now discussed, it was really between the 3 lowest scores, and then I think it came down to votes.
I do kind of wish they would be more clear about who's the bottom 3. Yeah, do you know what I mean?
I guess they don't want to like demoralize someone who's like always in the bottom 3.
Of course, but they say this doesn't necessarily mean you're in the bottom 3, and then next week they say we were in the bottom. So which is it?
Yeah, maybe they mean that with the score, but also maybe it is the bottom half. Maybe, but not exactly the bottom 3. Next week is Super Bowl night, which sounds really fun.
Yeah, what does that mean? Are we singing to like great American anthems? Like, I don't know, maybe everybody dances to it. Waiting all day for Sunday night.
Halftime show songs.
Oh, okay.
No, no, it's gonna be amazing.
No, of course, of course, of course. That just means they're like good popular songs. Who's dancing to Roar by Katy Perry? That's a good one.
No, it isn't.
Oh really? I feel like it's such— whenever I think of like big anthems at the Super Bowl.
Oh yeah, for the Super Bowl, but not to dance to.
No, they can make anything good. Like—
No, no, no, you want Gaga, you want Bruno.
You have to think about— it's not just like the last couple of years. You have to think of like Yeah, you could do Michael Jackson. Yeah, yeah. Or, uh, Coldplay.
Blackout.
Oh, like a Viennese waltz to Viva La Vida.
That's beautiful.
Yeah.
Okay, well, we'll see you next week. Are you ready for our next story?
Mm-hmm.
Our second story.
Mm-hmm.
Uh, the other reality stars who weren't on Dancing with the Stars last night went to the Virtual Reality Awards.
Oh, they did.
Which—
That's, I guess, why nobody from Summer House was at Dancing with the Stars, 'cause they wouldn't miss this for the world.
For sure, last night, but what about the last 3 nights?
Of course. Or even like just being overly supportive on social media.
So the Virtual Reality Awards are like Page Six's pop culture podcast, and they had an award show for, um, reality stars.
Mostly Bravo.
And such. So the stars were out. Um, as far as award winners, breakout star was Ariana Biermann.
I saw that. And you know what? I think it was an inspired choice. Who else was nominated?
It's a good list of nominees. Trinity from Love Island. Oh, Mia Calabrese from Summer House and Alicia Carmody from Rhode Island.
Oh, I do feel like it's a pay-to-play, show-up-to-win type of thing. Yeah. Um, and Ariana was there, but I also think she is a breakout star.
She is a breakout star, yes.
But Alicia was probably like a bigger breakout star.
Style Icon of the Year went to Meredith Marks. Nominated alongside her was Bronwyn Newport, which she is very stylish, Ariana Madix, and Paris Hilton. Like, what?
Okay. Like, okay.
Favorite dynamic duo. Oh, this is cute. The nominees were Austin Kroll and Sally Carson. No. Leila and Miranda from Slammo. No.
What?
Gisele Bryan and Robin Dixon. Maybe.
Not anymore.
Maybe not anymore. And the winners, Lindsay Hubbard and Gemma.
That's really cute.
I'm crying.
That's very cute.
Hottie of the year.
Us.
Bryce Alkali from Love Island. Robert Irwin.
LOL.
Fraser Olander, Below Deck. And Kyle Cooke, who won.
Like I said, it's a show up to win type of thing.
Best Reunion Performance.
Okay, that's actually a very good award.
That is Maddie Reese. I think she's on—
New Gen? Next Gen?
Southern Hospitality. Okay.
She didn't win.
Yes, sir. Jo Ellen Tibury.
She did have a good performance.
Karen Huger.
I didn't watch.
And the winner, Ciara Miller. It was her year.
Oh yes, it was her reunion. She of course couldn't show up to accept the award.
Musician of the Year.
Okay.
Gina Shea.
Stop.
Ashley Darby. Drew Sidora. And the winner, Luanne DelaCepps.
She is the, uh, performer of the decade. Like, literally.
This is fun.
It's funny.
Best Return to Screen. Cal Radswell, Lala Kent, Vicki Gunvalson, and the winner, Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, and Dolores Catania. For what did they do? What were they in?
Well, those are all bad nominees. No, just Teresa.
No, Cal's a good nominee. She returned to the screen. Yes, did Lala.
Yeah, yeah, but like, they weren't the best is what I'm saying.
Yeah. Oh, Quote of the Year. This is good. Okay, Maura Higgins, I tink.
That's a good one.
Liz McGraw, you were never homeless.
You were never homeless!
Melanie, Gimme 10.
Like, I seriously, I hate when people like still use that sound. It wasn't funny then, it's not funny now.
The winner, Rosie Woods DeMarr. You're a fucking slut.
Slampig. Party. Not the Real Housewives of Rhode Island, like cleaning up at the Page Six Awards.
The best cast went Jersey Shore Family Vacation, Traitors, Love Thy Nader, and the winner is Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
All the Real Housewives of Rhode Island showed up. I saw a video of them leaving their hotel, so like the whole cast was there.
They had to sort of— No, and like you could do guest cast about like any show, love that or hate it, they're just sisters.
No, and I just want to say, if we are going by like the actual cast, like Traitors cast was insane. Like that's— yeah, my winner.
And Jersey Shore, like they've— that's been the cast.
Yeah, that's like kind of the whole point.
Yeah, so that's just funny. Anyway, so Sally and Austin were spotted at the awards. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Leila showed up with her new girlfriend.
Oh right, right, right. And we knew that she was gay, right? She came out as bisexual.
Yes, yes, and she was on Jay Shetty.
Oh, was that what it was? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, classic Jay.
We're always talking about Jay Shetty here.

Thank you, Turtdears.
You're welcome.
Turtdears. Our next story, a little award show news. The Emmy Awards will exit broadcast television and head to Amazon's Prime Video. So much like the Oscars, which are going to YouTube.
Are they?
Mm-hmm. That's what I just read.
Wait.
In 2029. Sorry.
I feel like that's really crazy cuz it's not crazy for, uh, an award show to go to a streamer. The Oscars is considered the most highbrow and I would say like YouTube is considered the most lowbrow streamer. Like, I don't know why.
It didn't say YouTube TV even. Like it just said YouTube.
Like, I feel like if the Oscars went, we should go to like Netflix. That's just sort of like an equal pairing. The Golden Globes should obviously go to the, you know, the most amazing streamer ever cuz the Golden Globes are amazing.
And that's like the best award show and the only one I really care about.
It's the only one I'll be watching this year, whether or not them there.
Of course, the Emmys though, if you are watching starting in 2027, they will be on Prime Video for 6 years.
That's fine. I have no problem with that. Prime Video, anytime I've had to like watch something live, sometimes they have like football games. It's pleasant. They don't have like tech issues. Like Netflix, like low-key has so many tech issues with like the Love Is Blind live reunion. Like I'm always buffering and oh, the fights. The fights are always hell. Yeah. Um, so sure, fine.
Fine. Yeah, like major moves for the streamers. Love that.
Major moves for the streamers. This just continues. Like earlier in the week we were talking about Sundance— what's it called?
Skydance. Skydance. But if you are like looking to buy an award show for your streamer, like the Golden Globes are the best one. Might I suggest the Golden Globes?
They're so amazing.
You're not paying enough for them.
Agreed. Probably no streamers can afford them. That's probably what it is.
Can you find— also, you know, Nikki Lazar is hosting for the 3rd year in a row. Like, we—
at first I just want to say like my journey is like when we saw the list, I was like, not only are we not gonna get nominated, I don't want to be nominated. Like, this is seriously so much for me. Like, I'm overwhelmed. Like, I'm really, like, grateful.
Now I'm entering— I've started to, like, think percolating about what it would be like to go.
We kind of, like, need to be nominated.
And, like, what it would feel like.
And then it'll be like, we need to be nominated, but we don't want to win. No, no, no. And then once we get the nomination, it's like, we have to win.
Yeah. People have been asking, like, if they can vote, what they can do.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I mean, like, There's—
no, no, you can't vote. I don't know what anyone can do for us except pray.
Prayer, the power of prayer is so real and manifest.
Yes, for those of you who are not religious, who engage.
Um, um, I don't know. I don't know what can be done. We do have to like officially submit ourselves.
Oh yeah, let's make sure to do that.
Yeah, of course. We need to choose, I think. I don't know how many episodes we discuss it, right? We need to put ourselves forth with certain episodes that we feel reflect us in the most positive Okay, maybe this one. Maybe.
Oh no, I think the period ended.
Oh yeah, it's episodes in 2026 up until like the day they announced the list, like yesterday. So this wouldn't count.
No amount of asking would matter.
No amount of asking, but we can do like a shit job for the rest of the year and it won't affect our, our standing in the Golden Globes.
Just our standing on the charts and the reason I got in. Whatever. Luminant. Shout out to Luminant.
Shout out.
All that dating.
And of course, shout out to like all of our sponsors and just everyone who makes this show possible.
Everyone who's a part of the toast in any way, even if it's just me scenes, listening, or even just watching the clips.
So the Emmys are going to Amazon Prime.
And we—
Are going to the Golden Globes.
Are nominated to be nominated to go to the Golden Globes.
Exactly what my sister said.
And then our last story, some casting news, which sounds exciting. Jessica Biel will be playing Hugh Hefner's wife in a new movie called Playmates.
Which one?
Allison Addison?
Unclear, unclear.
Jessica Biel is so random to me.
I know, but the logline for the movie, which sounds good, um, is Elle is a 13-year-old know-it-all who considers the Playboy— Playboy— like, who considers the Playboy Mansion her second home. She meets Anna, played by Lily-Rose Depp, one of 7 hopefuls vying to be Playmate of the Month. The 2 form an unlikely friendship and try to help each other get what the other wants most: a magazine cover for the Playmate and a boy for the 13-year-old, I think.
I'm sorry, you're gonna need to explain this movie to me again, because why is there a 13-year-old who thinks of the— the— who's going for Playboy as a second home? And she's not going for Playmate.
Oh, oh, oh, she befriends one of the 7 girls going.
So what is she, like a wayward child who like is a ward of, of the mansion?
I don't know. And who's Jessica Biel? Jessica Biel will be playing the wife of Hugh Hefner in the film, who is herself a former Playmate. Playmate. Playdate. While Hugh was married multiple times in real life, the character she's playing will be fictional. Okay.
I have no idea what's going on. I wish them all the best.
It sounds like a good— like—
And you know what, Jessica Biel doesn't act a lot, and in the last like 10 years when she has, she like always is in things that are like really well received. Her last— that show on Hulu or Prime about the sister.
Yeah.
The Good Sister or whatever. people loved. And then before that, she was in the, uh, the TV show about the— remember Elizabeth Olsen?
Yep, Candy.
Yeah, they made 2 TV shows about the same exact, like, saga.
I watched the Elizabeth Olsen one.
I watched Elizabeth Olsen.
I have every confidence that Jessica Chastain's gonna be good.
I know, theirs was first, by the way. Theirs came out first. So she doesn't act a lot. I feel like she has, like, a pretty high bar for scripts, and I think they have a lot of money, so she, like, acts when she feels like it.
And I will also say, like, the Playboy Mansion, Hugh Hefner, is not something that's really been played out, excavated, and especially in a fictional sense. So I think this sounds like a good movie.
Yeah, I have no problem with it.
Lily-Rose Depp is a talented actress.
Although the way I feel about Lily-Rose Depp is like the total opposite of Jessica Biel. I feel like everything Lily-Rose Depp is in is bad. Like, she's a bad picker. That, uh, HBO show about, um, like the pop star with, uh, The Weeknd, that was really bad. And I don't know why. I've actually never seen her in anything, so I just feel like she doesn't have a lot of commercial success.
But I feel like she could be talented.
Do you think her and Johnny get along? I've never seen the two together.
Um, I don't know.
I don't know either.
Have I seen her in anything?
I haven't.
Oh, she played Pamela Anderson.
I saw the other Pamela Anderson one with, uh, what's her name? Elizabeth James? No, Lily James. That was a good one, The Unauthorized, because Pamela Anderson was upset about that one, but it was good.
That's what Jessica Biel's up to.
And I know you guys were wondering.
That's our show.
