00:00:03

Good morning, girlies, it's The Toast.

00:00:09

It's Jax and Claude and we're your hosts.

00:00:13

It's your favorite show, the fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, it's The Toast.

00:00:23

I sound amazing.

00:00:25

Welcome back to The Toast and happy Thursday. Also happy October 1st to all who celebrate.

00:00:29

I can't believe it's October. That just Snuck up on us.

00:00:32

The spooky season is upon us. And actually, as of yesterday, we have confirmed our Halloween costume this year.

00:00:37

We have.

00:00:38

Totally Jackie's idea. I couldn't have thought of anything better in the whole world. I'm so excited. I've been like kind of ideating on what I'm gonna wear. Like, I'm just, I'm very excited about it.

00:00:48

I think it's gonna be so great. I don't wanna give anything away. We're not, so I'm just gonna leave it right there.

00:00:53

Toast to We never disappoints. And like, this year will be no different.

00:00:56

Yes. Spooky season is here. We actually read a very spooky book for the Redheads. The episode comes out today at some point. Um, so if you, if you like that sort of vibe, you should read the book and listen along with us. We weirdly always do a spooky book in October. It's Rebecca's choice and she always picks. That's nice.

00:01:11

Feels seasonally appropriate.

00:01:12

Yeah, we do sometimes get festive with it.

00:01:14

Yeah, we cuss a little.

00:01:15

Yeah, we, we read about ghosts or not.

00:01:18

Oh.

00:01:19

Was it a ghost?

00:01:21

Giving Verity.

00:01:22

It is. It is. So, um, that was fun. So I feel like thoroughly spookified.

00:01:27

Okay, good. I haven't gotten into spooky season yet. For me, October 1st is obviously all about like birth and renewal and getting my $200 back. And then I feel that I can really lean into the spooky season after, like on October 2nd.

00:01:36

You have to think about inflation and interest rates because if you gave someone a loan—

00:01:40

What year was it? Yeah. What year was it?

00:01:42

If you gave someone a loan in 2018 for $200, how much should they be paying you back today?

00:01:48

What? Is $200 from 2018 worth today given inflation and stuff?

00:01:53

But also you have to think about interest.

00:01:55

But let's say I'm a nice person who's not charging interest. Oh wow. Just given like the natural fluctuation of the stocks. Mm-hmm. I had $262.

00:02:04

That feels right. Actually, it feels like more. It should be more.

00:02:07

It's about a 31% increase.

00:02:10

It feels like it should be more.

00:02:11

Well, chat says $262. And again, yes, of course, if I wanted to charge interest. But one thing about me at the time, I was loaning it like in good faith. Mm-hmm.

00:02:19

But now ask chat. And then also ask chat if you had had that $200, like in this—

00:02:24

What about with interest?

00:02:26

If it was a loan that I gave him. I feel like you're just not giving him enough information. He's gonna respond, what about with interest?

00:02:37

Honestly, like, they're giving me too much information and I don't care anymore. Um, happy Thursday.

00:02:42

Happy Thursday.

00:02:43

We've got Pargi stories today. I'm so excited. Don't you feel like I kind of started this Pete Davidson stuff?

00:02:48

I came to it too late, so I can't say, but yes, I could see you having started it.

00:02:53

So I came across this Pete Davidson video completely on my own on TikTok, and it pissed me off so deeply. I didn't even read the comments or anything. I actually then went to Instagram because I felt like I had more cultural cachet on Instagram, like my comment would sort of populate higher, and I left my hate comment on Instagram. And then when I went to go check back, I saw like, you know, all my fellow influencers had like started commenting, and I feel, I feel like I started it.

00:03:14

Is it getting— is it a big thing?

00:03:16

It is.

00:03:17

Well, good. I'm excited to talk about it.

00:03:18

Me too. So we have a viral clip to talk about in our first story.

00:03:22

Uh, no, actually, no, actually we have a very exciting first story. I don't wanna tease anything.

00:03:27

Oh my God. She's like giving like a silly little smile. Jack and I played such a fun game on the way to work today. We pulled up, of course we drove separately. We pulled up next to one another.

00:03:35

I actually thought for a second maybe we should drive together cuz it was raining so bad and I was like, maybe it'll be better. We're stronger with numbers, but then it, it died down a little bit.

00:03:42

Yeah. So, and we pulled up at a light together and so we were playing one of my personally like favorite games. I could tell you were hating every minute because you hate games, but it's like when I— we were in separate cars, windows closed, so I'm listening to a song. I won't say what it is yet, and I'm mouthing the lyrics and I'm like, Jackie, guess what I'm singing? It was the longest light ever. The lights here are insane. So, and I was giving a couple of like extra clues because I was also doing hand motions. So you guys tell me if you know what song I'm singing. I have no idea. This is what Jackie saw when she looked to her left. Yes, I was listening to Out of the Woods by Taylor Swift.

00:04:19

Let us know if you got that. I heard her say— I could see her saying, I remember, and then I was like starting to think, and by the time you rolled down your window, I figured it.

00:04:25

Mhm.

00:04:26

It's a good song. Oh no, no, that's not good. That's not good.

00:04:30

Giving ASMR.

00:04:31

For their misophonia.

00:04:34

Um, stories, like, good vibe-wise, cutesy, high-frequency vibration. Cutesy little stories.

00:04:41

They're, they're all over the map.

00:04:43

Yeah, we're giving Cosmo and Wanda today.

00:04:45

We— I feel like we always are, either gender reveal or Cosmo or matching. Remember when everyone was saying Cosmo and Wanda? You ain't slick.

00:04:53

That was a fun time. Like, I feel like culturally we get into phrases that like we beat to death. Cosmo and Wanda was a good one. When we were giving— no, no, when we— everyone kept saying it's giving Cher. Like, I hated that era.

00:05:04

It's giving, you mean?

00:05:05

It's giving Cher.

00:05:06

Oh.

00:05:07

That's what started the whole it's giving thing. Like Shawn Mendes was like, it's giving Cher.

00:05:11

And he started it's giving?

00:05:12

I don't know if he started it's giving like in its totality because people were saying it before, but it's giving Cher then led to kind of the mainstreamization of it's giving.

00:05:20

Okay. I, you know how I feel about it's giving. I don't mind it as a turn of phrase.

00:05:25

Oh, I don't love it. It's just like sort of a, like a low intellectual way of saying something, you know?

00:05:30

No, but there, my feeling—

00:05:32

And by the way, I say it all the time.

00:05:34

My feeling is that It's not like it replaced something better. It's sort of like—

00:05:37

Created a new category.

00:05:39

It created a way of saying something.

00:05:41

Mm-hmm.

00:05:42

That we didn't have a way of saying it before.

00:05:44

I just don't like it. I feel like it just doesn't sound smart.

00:05:47

You know what I don't like? And I, I'm, I'm scared if I say it, it's gonna become a part of my vocabulary.

00:05:52

Let's hear it.

00:05:53

When people start everything with, I fear.

00:05:56

Um, okay. Actually, you know who started that? Like, okay. When I say started, like they didn't put those words together. Tom DeLonge used it. Jake Shane.

00:06:05

Really?

00:06:06

You ever—

00:06:06

have you heard that viral audio where it's like, how long is the Boston Marathon?

00:06:10

Uh-huh.

00:06:10

And then his friend is like, I fear all marathons are the same length, I fear, or whatever. And like, it went so viral. And I feel like that's really— at least for me, when I started hearing I fear, and I agree, every— a sprinkle every now and then like adds nice comedic—

00:06:24

Yeah, but it's just like every time you answer a question, I fear yes, I fear no. Yeah, don't live in fear.

00:06:29

Yeah.

00:06:29

Don't live in fear.

00:06:30

How do you feel about don't you find?

00:06:32

I loved them.

00:06:33

Okay, okay.

00:06:34

Of course I do.

00:06:35

Okay.

00:06:35

That's not internet jargon, that's toast jargon.

00:06:37

Yeah, and there's never a piece of toast jargon I could dislike.

00:06:39

Yeah, and that's an elevated way of saying, you know?

00:06:42

Even when I dislike something.

00:06:44

It's an elevated way of saying, you know?

00:06:45

That's what I'm saying. It's giving is like a low-valuating way of saying something.

00:06:49

What?

00:06:50

It resembles, it feels similar to.

00:06:53

It's like is what it is.

00:06:55

Yeah, also low intellectual. Right, so I feel that when I say, don't you find, don't you find, I sound like extremely British and intellectual. Did you find?

00:07:07

Yeah, that's better than you know.

00:07:09

I know, and you know is a bad stim. I feel like I'm very aware of my like ums and totallys and likes.

00:07:15

And you know is a bad one. It sort of just like speaks to a lack of confidence in what you're saying.

00:07:20

I was just gonna say, complete insecurity.

00:07:22

You need someone to be agreeing with you and you can't just stand on your own two feet.

00:07:25

And that insecurity is still there when you say, don't you find? But people are so impressed with how British you are that you don't sound stupid at all.

00:07:32

It's just not until we dig deeper to the psychological meaning. Yeah.

00:07:36

Every time I say something and I end it with, you know, it's giving like, like you have no confidence in yourself and you're like not smart or dumb. You don't even know what you just said.

00:07:45

You're not smart or dumb.

00:07:46

You're not smart or dumb. You're not smart.

00:07:49

And you're not dumb.

00:07:51

You know, um, I like— I'm just sort of itching to talk about Pete Davidson, so if there's anything else you wanna chitchat about, like, let's get it out of the way.

00:07:58

No, we had like a cutesy Mahjong yesterday. Did you win at your table?

00:08:02

Of course I did.

00:08:03

Okay, me too.

00:08:03

You didn't even need to ask that.

00:08:06

Well, I guess I would know if you didn't.

00:08:08

Well, Ben can know. Ben always says like when I play Mahjong, um, and I come home like at night, he can feel instantly when I walk in the door if I've won or lost, even though I do feel, um, I've kind of chilled out about maje. Like, I'm not so crazy. I used to get like so competitive and now it's like, whatever.

00:08:23

Yeah. I think it's like post-aversion, you've sort of neutralized. I don't think you're like so into it in your pregnancy that like, yeah, you couldn't maje all day. You don't want to, you don't have like that same like drive for it.

00:08:34

There was like a true addiction before I got pregnant. Yes. I shared this on the Patreon, so I haven't shared it on the podcast yet, but during my first trimester, I have this weird thing where I have like aversions not to food, but to like random things and institutions. In my first pregnancy, like I had to cross the street when I was near the kosher grocery store. Like the place, just like the idea of it made me nauseous. This summer I had a major aversion to mahjong. That's why Jackie and Ben were playing solo mahjong, Siamese mahjong, the entire summer. I couldn't even look at the table, like the numbers, like the idea. Oh, like seriously. And obviously the aversion's gone away, but I'm just not like obsessed with it in my pregnancy.

00:09:03

No, you were obsessed.

00:09:05

Like when you were down here, I was counting cards and I was forcing people to play with me.

00:09:08

When you were down here in the winter, we were playing every day because like you require us to play every day.

00:09:15

No. And like my levels of desperation, like I literally would've picked up like a homeless person on the street and brought them into my house to come play with me. Like we need a 4th. And now. Now, like, I don't know, it just doesn't hit the same.

00:09:24

Yeah.

00:09:24

It's not as exciting to me. It's kind of lost, but I'm still obsessed.

00:09:28

Yeah.

00:09:28

Play— I literally play every day, but in a more chill, sort of normal way.

00:09:31

Yeah, yeah, that— I guess that's—

00:09:32

It's better, it's better.

00:09:33

It was getting to a point—

00:09:34

I was really addicted to, like, I was thinking about it all the time.

00:09:36

Yeah.

00:09:37

Like, I think that's how people are with, like, gambling.

00:09:40

Relaxed a little bit and, like, fallen into a more natural pattern.

00:09:42

Yeah, just like natural, cool, chill mahjong girls.

00:09:44

Maybe like once or twice a week.

00:09:46

Yeah, very normal.

00:09:47

Mm-hmm.

00:09:48

Okay, let's get into the stories cuz I know you're itching to talk.

00:09:51

I'm also itching to tell everyone about today's lead sponsor.

00:09:53

Ooh, who we got?

00:09:55

Oh, just, just a little company known as Amazon MGM Studios. You know, comes a gripping psychological thriller based on the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover. So Verity, we've been talking about it all week, starring Dakota Johnson and Loen Ashley, a struggling writer hired to ghostwrite for renowned author Verity Crawford, who's of course played by Anne Hathaway. The job takes Loen to the remote Crawford estate where she discovers what appears to be Verity's autobiographical notes. filled with disturbing confessions about her life and her husband Jeremy, who's played by Josh Hartnett.

00:10:23

Right.

00:10:23

As Lowen is pulled deeper into Verity's world, the lines between fiction and reality, manipulation and attraction, and opportunity and obsession begin to blur. You probably read the book and loved it. We've been talking about this movie all week. We are so hyped for it. I'm sure you've seen all the press, all the premieres, and we are so excited. Um, it swaps in with sugar at a 1:1 ratio, so you can use it confidently in your favorite recipes. There are no adjustments needed, whether you're doing savory, whether you're baking, whether you're cooking something sweet. Um, I think a lot of us are always looking for like better alternatives, especially when it comes to sugar, and Truvia is such a trusted brand. And the fact that you can swap it out easily— just if, if you're making a swap difficult, like, I'm not gonna do it. But yeah, sure, same measuring cup, different product, I'll do it. They blend allulose with stevia sweetener and monk fruit sweetener, so this delivers a very mellow, well-rounded sweetness without a sharp aftertaste.

00:12:55

It's an adaptable sweetener that works just as well in drinks and baked goods as it does in sauces and savory meals. 00:14:43

Thank you, Turt Money.

00:14:46

You're welcome, Jim Cramer. Sure, I'm literally Jim Cramer, don't you find? Like, Cardboard Koji is sort of like a Gen Z version of—

00:14:52

I don't think you want to be, and I don't think our sponsor Would appreciate that.

00:14:58

Okay. Appreciate that. I don't think my father, the president of Pizza Strudel, would be too pleased to hear about this.

00:15:03

I don't think our sponsor would be too pleased to hear about this.

00:15:05

I don't think our sponsor Rocket Money would be too pleased to hear about this.

00:15:08

Our first story is the most amazing story that happened yesterday. A miracle in the sky, and we need to talk about it. The attempted hijacking.

00:15:18

Oh, sure.

00:15:18

Of the FlyDubai flight from—

00:15:19

Okay, now it's getting geopolitical. Well, It's such a crazy story.

00:15:23

It's such an amazing story, and I fear that like not enough people know this would happen.

00:15:26

No one's talking about it.

00:15:27

And we could have—

00:15:28

now of course people think because like Jews are involved that it's like a conspiracy theory and it's like this staged thing.

00:15:32

Okay, it's so not. And yesterday's show and yesterday might have been a completely different day if things had happened differently. And like, we need to celebrate this absolute miracle. Like, and everyone's like making jokes because it's like just—

00:15:44

Because nothing ended up happening, thank God.

00:15:46

Because the, the worst outcome didn't happen, but Yesterday on a flight from Dubai to Israel, there were 2 pilots in the cockpit and one of them was a terrorist.

00:15:57

Spoiler alert, spoiler alert.

00:15:59

As they were like approaching Israel, I think they were over Saudi airspace at the time, he stabbed his co-pilot multiple times. Thankfully, the co-pilot, as he was like going down, he opened the cabin door and the flight was like full of Israelis who are trained.

00:16:13

Ever— there's a draft in Israel, so like a lot Most Israelis walking around were like, you know, in the Air Force or medic or combatant. Yeah.

00:16:21

And so the terrorist got control of the airplane, plunged the airplane down. I think it was like 18,000 feet in like 30 seconds, less than 2 minutes. And in that time, it was actually an Israeli plumber who like got into the cockpit, put the terrorist in a chokehold, like threw him back to the crowd of passengers who were waiting to like restrain him. And the plumber actually leveled the plane and there happened to be like another flight crew on the plane who—

00:16:46

Like another pilot on the plane.

00:16:47

'Cause they were gonna fly the plane next.

00:16:49

Mm-hmm.

00:16:49

And they landed the plane safely in Saudi Arabia.

00:16:52

The regular pilot who was stabbed is okay. He, he was not okay.

00:16:56

He wasn't— his condition was improving. He's not dead.

00:16:57

Yeah.

00:16:58

But he's such a hero. Mm-hmm. He saved every— there were 180 people on the plane. There were 27 children. The plane was doing a nosedive into the ground.

00:17:06

Insane.

00:17:06

And not only were they able to stop the attack, By a miracle, like a serious miracle. But also by all accounts, the plane should have like shred, like, um, disintegrated by going down that fast from the G-force.

00:17:18

Oh.

00:17:18

Like it's a miracle that it didn't.

00:17:20

Uh-huh.

00:17:20

And that it stayed intact. I think it lost some of its tail or something, but like the whole situation is so incredible.

00:17:26

The emergency landed in Saudi Arabia.

00:17:28

Mm-hmm.

00:17:29

Where like everyone was tended to medical and, um, and then they, they went and they arrived safely in Israel.

00:17:35

And now they're all like heroes. at home.

00:17:37

But it's a plane. It's a group full of people that would've, that should've been dead.

00:17:40

No. And by the way, not only dead, who knows where they were taking that plane?

00:17:42

Right.

00:17:43

Right into the Burj Khalifa.

00:17:44

Right. And who knows what they would've hit on the ground?

00:17:48

Of course. And how many people would've died.

00:17:49

Right.

00:17:49

If it was failed.

00:17:50

And then also this, the whole situation involves so many different countries. It's Saudi airspace. It's an, um, Emirati flight from Dubai. It was an Omani pilot. It's a plane full of Israelis, like, and the region is already on fire, both literally.

00:18:04

Full of tension.

00:18:04

Yeah. And then you have all of these countries like working together. What, what would've, Broke out, how many lives were saved by this group of people is a miracle. It's true. And I don't know if everybody knows that this happened yesterday, but you absolutely have to. Right.

00:18:16

And if it did, if it happened differently, like we all would've heard about it.

00:18:19

Right.

00:18:19

Because it was like potentially so catastrophic.

00:18:22

Oh, um, but you know, of course the New York Times is saying that there was an altercation in the cockpit.

00:18:25

Mm-hmm.

00:18:26

An incident that caused the flight to be diverted.

00:18:28

Diverted. And I actually have been diverted one time. I can tell you it was nothing like this. It was actually really traumatic in a different way. We had to land in Pittsburgh, where Jackie and I stayed at a hotel and ended up getting a hair in our spaghetti. But we digress, this is not about us.

00:18:41

No, and nothing— it's just an amazing story.

00:18:44

It is.

00:18:44

You could really make a movie about it, and it's not, you know, people are already reporting on it in such a false way.

00:18:50

You know what, well, people, because it is so unbelievable, and anytime there's like a Jewish person involved in anything, like everybody puts their tinfoil hats on. This is impossible, they staged it to be victims. There's a lot of theories. on the internet about it, which is just like upsetting because it's such an amazing story.

00:19:06

Not even that, but just like the media downplaying it. Like, there was an altercation and the flight diverted and everyone's okay. Like, that's like—

00:19:12

imagine calling United 93, uh, an altercation. I think they said an incident.

00:19:16

Yeah. And it's not even in the cockpit.

00:19:17

Yeah. What, what happened?

00:19:19

Yeah.

00:19:20

Yeah. It's an amazing story.

00:19:21

It's an amazing story. So happy. Like, thank you, God.

00:19:25

Truly an act of God.

00:19:27

Yeah. And to the heroes on the plane and the pilot.

00:19:30

The pilot. The plumber.

00:19:32

The one pilot.

00:19:33

The— not the other, obviously.

00:19:34

Not the terrorist pilot. Um, and the airline was literally like— someone like was speaking from the airline. They were like, we hired a terrorist.

00:19:41

That's insane.

00:19:41

Yeah.

00:19:42

I feel like when you're hiring pilots, like, of course you should be careful when you hire anyone.

00:19:45

Yeah.

00:19:46

A pilot— I just feel like there should be some systems in place, you know?

00:19:50

Yeah, it's a lot of power.

00:19:52

It is a lot of power.

00:19:53

Yes.

00:19:54

A lot of responsibility.

00:19:55

Yes, it is.

00:19:56

It is raining so loud here. You hear it? Yes, I hear it.

00:20:00

That's crazy. I hope it comes through on the microphones because it is very ambient.

00:20:04

I'm feeling extremely relaxed.

00:20:06

Yeah, like it's white noise.

00:20:08

It's what they play in a spa, like when you lay down.

00:20:11

Yeah, or when you go to sleep.

00:20:13

It's what the Nanette plays. Yeah, totally.

00:20:14

Yeah, so, um, I hope you enjoy this.

00:20:16

I hope you don't have to pee because if you do, it's just sort of gonna—

00:20:20

If you do, go pee.

00:20:22

Me?

00:20:23

Anyone listening.

00:20:24

Oh yeah, you can take your AirPods to the bathroom.

00:20:26

Yeah, you could take a break from work.

00:20:28

I love when people— when people actually listen to us in such unique places. Like, I know I've always gotten tagged in people like during labor. Um, I definitely have listened to The Toast while, you know, pinching a loaf.

00:20:39

Ew.

00:20:40

You know, you have to pee.

00:20:42

I always have to pee.

00:20:43

Well, do you want to go pee?

00:20:45

No, no, no, no, no, no.

00:20:46

I'm just saying, don't get a UTI. If you have to pee, just go.

00:20:48

So true. UTS can be so dangerous and like destabilizing. Oh, speaking of, I would like to clear up a rumor from yesterday's episode cuz we posted, we had this hilarious conversation about Instacart and we posted a reel of it. A lot of people think it was like a very organic Instacart integration.

00:21:04

Now Instacart, you can do—

00:21:05

Like an advertisement. Uh, Instacart should definitely like be running us our check and be like whitelisting that video and posting it all over social media. But that was not an advertisement. I don't think we've ever been sponsored by Instacart. I'm their number one customer.

00:21:15

Mm-hmm.

00:21:15

But I just wanna clear the air, like no FTC violations here. That was just completely organic.

00:21:19

Yeah, for sure. But I guess that's good that people, I, that people thought it was an ad. No, it's better if it is an ad and people don't realize. Yeah. It's the best kind of ad.

00:21:29

I think the best kind of situation is like one where we get—

00:21:30

not us doing free ads.

00:21:31

It's one where we get a check.

00:21:32

Yeah.

00:21:32

And we didn't get one.

00:21:33

So I think it's actually not good of us doing free advertisements and you guys like thought we were taking more of the ad block.

00:21:38

Yeah.

00:21:38

And we weren't like, we were just like conversing about our favorite brands, which won't happen again.

00:21:42

Our next story, speaking of influencers influencing, Pete, like this is my time. Davidson is making waves. He gave an interview with Variety. He talked about a lot of things.

00:21:51

He's making a lot of waves.

00:21:53

Yeah, there's a lot of quotes about his ex, Kim, Ariana. He talked about influencers, and I'm gonna play the video because it's not like so long.

00:21:59

No, and it needs to be heard for you guys to understand my personal frustration. Like, I think what I really want you to focus on here when you're listening to the video is his tone. Obviously it's what he's saying, but the sort of like anger and like aggravation and like aggressive nature of his tone.

00:22:13

So just take it to the primary source and you guys can judge for yourselves.

00:22:17

And it makes me sad, you know? And girls are just talking to themselves on there, and they're like, okay, come get ready with me. And I'm like, who the fuck are you? What do you do? Nothing. What the fuck is this? They make $40 million a year? What? And then I'm like, the world's broken. There's girls my age that go on TikTok, and they'll, like, mutter, like, a thing and then do this, like, dance. And I'm like, what the fuck are you doing? This is insane. Does no one else see how fucking insane and lame this is? And these girls are like super famous. Like everyone's like, oh my God, I can't believe. And I'm like, what?

00:22:59

I don't know.

00:23:00

This is the first time I felt really old. But I do think about it like once a week. I'm like, should I just start an OnlyFans and show soft cock? Like really tight underwear and just soft cock and retire? Or just keep, you know, keep trying. I don't know, you know, if it all goes to fail, I could just soft cock it. We all could. We could soft cock it. It's bad.

00:23:24

So understandably, this video has like sort of taken the internet by storm. When I saw it, I was so like put off by it for so many reasons. Like, you know, I think that the conversations around influencers like are so, um, outsized, because it is this like sort of thing where, yeah, like a girl does make $40 million and men do it too, not nearly at the same level. Like it's this female-dominated industry where women make a lot of money and it's always being criticized. And I always feel like it's being unfairly criticized because it is so female-dominated. But I was like, okay, maybe I would hear— and let's say the person sitting in this interview was a coal miner and they said exactly what Pete Davidson said. I would still feel like it was rude, but I felt like they had a little bit of a leg to stand on when it comes to work ethic and hard work. He's worked very hard. This is a person who literally doesn't work, and when he does, he smokes pot and there's a camera and he's talking to Kevin Hart. That's not exactly hard work either.

00:24:17

I would say it's probably the same amount of effort that it takes to film a Get Ready With Me. And honestly, if you've ever filmed a Get Ready With Me, they're really fucking hard. You're sweating and the angles and it's just a lot. So I just felt like if we're gonna have this conversation, first of all, Pete Davidson is so not the messenger for this topic, and two, The undertone in which he's delivering this—

00:24:34

Like he hates women.

00:24:34

Yeah, it's like so aggressive.

00:24:36

Pete Davidson hates women.

00:24:38

It is so mean. And like, yes, influencing can be done by either gender. So like for him to just say girls, it's very intentional. He sounds so like full of hate. And then a lot of people are like, it's a joke, you don't get it. Like, where was the joke? I guess the end like was technically his joke about like soft cocking it, which is not funny, but that was the least offensive part of the video.

00:24:57

Oh, I thought that was like— there's 2 parts of the video. Once he starts talking about OnlyFans and it's like, you know, there's a difference between influencers and OnlyFans and people who are doing get ready with me's are probably not on OnlyFans, and OnlyFans models are probably not doing get ready with me's. Like, correct, 2 completely different things. So to bring it to that and like to keep talking about like his own junk and that he can go make money— like, first of all, go do it.

00:25:17

Well, that's the other thing. This is a very highly paid person who relatively like does nothing. Like, I, I know he has a show coming out this year, like a TV show, and I know he was on a TV show like a couple of years ago, and I think he does live shows So he performs 60 minutes of comedy a couple, maybe times a week, I would say a couple times a month. That does not equate hard work. And we know from your, uh, the mother of your child, you're not exactly like killing it as a father either. So it's like, you're not busy.

00:25:41

What are you doing?

00:25:41

You're not working hard. So why are you coming for everyone else? It's so randomly aggressive, especially when this is a person who has literally built his career off the backs of successful women. Like, you're known as Ariana Grande's ex-boyfriend, you're known as Kim Kardashian's ex-boyfriend, like, you're known as the guy who dates all the actresses who are like hotter and and like more successful than you. So why are you gonna bite the hand that feeds you? It was just such a bad take from the wrong source. Now, if we wanna have the conversation about like our influencers, but you know who are also like paid a lot and, you know, maybe you could argue that they don't work that hard, like athletes get a lot of money. Like we could have these conversations, but we're only having it about influencers, question mark.

00:26:16

Yeah. And if you want to commentate on influencers, there's things that you could say, you know, the culture is broken.

00:26:24

Sure.

00:26:25

The messenger is wrong. And the way that he said it was so stupid. Get ready with me. What's wrong with get ready with me?

00:26:31

No, the whole thing.

00:26:32

And it really pointed to a lack of understanding of how it works. But then he's also talking shit about all the people who consume this.

00:26:39

Yes. Like, you're dumb for thinking— Yeah.

00:26:40

And like, what's wrong with everybody that, that we watch this and these are influential people, but like, okay, so go to another planet then. Cuz this is the one that we live on.

00:26:48

No, no, no. I hate him now. I said yesterday, I have a list of like men that I hate.

00:26:52

You've very rarely hated him for like a very long time. I, I don't really pick stories about him and when I do, it's like, I don't wanna talk about him. I hate him now too.

00:26:59

Yeah, he's on my list.

00:26:59

I hate his face, the way he spoke.

00:27:01

Those teeth.

00:27:02

The lack of humor, I would say.

00:27:04

Yeah, it wasn't funny. That's the other thing.

00:27:06

Even the second half, which was meant to be the humorous part about like soft cock.

00:27:08

OnlyFans, yeah.

00:27:09

No, you already showed us yourself in your underwear for Reformation. Nobody really cared about that.

00:27:12

Well, what's funny is that you think you're above soft cock. Like sometimes I wish I could just retire off of showing my penis. And it's like, well, you've only gotten to the place that you are like because of your big dick energy, that whole thing.

00:27:23

No, but we saw him in his undies for Reformation. Yeah, of course.

00:27:25

But I'm saying it's not like you're—

00:27:26

We're set.

00:27:26

Like, his biggest contribution to culture and why he is as famous as he is is because of like his looks and like, obviously, yes, his comedy, but he's not selling the venues that he's selling because he's the most talented comedian. It's because he has this like cultural cachet which comes from being like a sex symbol and dating successful women. Like, seriously, this is such a bad take and it lacks literally an ounce of self-awareness. It's such a bad call. And also, you're just like, like coming for girls. You keep saying girls too, not women. It's so spooky. And I feel like that—

00:27:55

And you admit that you feel old. You admit that you're older than these people, You're coming for like young girls who are trying to make a living at the height of their lives.

00:28:01

Girls. The use of the word girls. And you know, Emily Ratajkowski has like spoken about their time together as like really negatively and like borderline abusive when it came to like their intimate times together. And you know what, like I feel like he's gotten such a, like a free pass, but also like a glowing review from like, people just love him. And he's like, ha, when he really hasn't like done or contributed anything to the world outside of his relationships, like for real. So I just now I'm taking like a look at Pete Davidson holistically, 'Cause, you know, he put himself out there. And I'm not liking what I'm seeing. I'm really not.

00:28:34

Yeah, yeah, he does get a pass for a couple reasons.

00:28:37

'Cause he's like tall and he dated those girls and like it was fun for a moment.

00:28:40

And other things.

00:28:43

Of course, of course, you know, uh, the 9/11 of it all.

00:28:47

9/11 and his mental health issues and his drugs.

00:28:49

Drugs, yes. And when he speaks about those things—

00:28:51

He also did drive a car into a house and we all sort of forgot about that.

00:28:54

He's Stevie Wonder. Forgot about— I did forget. That's what I'm saying. Now we're doing a Pete Davidson audit and the results are overwhelmingly negative. Of course he has some redeeming qualities, like you said, but I don't know, I'm not liking what I'm seeing.

00:29:07

Yeah, agreed. This, this is not good.

00:29:10

No, it was so aggressive, like—

00:29:13

So patronizing and disrespectful.

00:29:15

Yeah, like, I, I hate him now.

00:29:17

And has Paige Paul spoken yet?

00:29:19

Well, I literally tagged her. I said, girl, get him. Yeah, because that's our queen, and she like verbalized so perfectly.

00:29:24

She did.

00:29:25

When I talk about the influencer, I can't really like explain why it bothers me so much, and I feel like when she came for that sign in Nantucket, she really verbalized it in a way that was like really poignant and—

00:29:36

However, the point— the person to respond to this is Alex Earle, because he's talking about Alex Earle. Alex Earle does get ready with me and makes $40 million. There actually aren't a lot of GRWM girls who are at that level.

00:29:47

And I want to say, when you meet an influencer girl who's at that level, let me tell you, there's not a person on earth who works harder. Of course different versions of like coal mining.

00:29:55

She's not mining coal.

00:29:56

Physically laborious. But let me tell you, she's not like sitting at home recording one video a day and cashing in for it. When you get to that level, Alex Cooper, like, that bitch doesn't stop. Like, I'm sorry, it actually is a different version of hard work, but it's, it's work.

00:30:07

Alex Earle is working harder than Pete Davidson.

00:30:11

1,000%.

00:30:12

And also, like, the Nantucket thing felt targeted at Paige, so it was Paige who needed to respond. And I just want to say, I think in this situation, Alex Earle should be responding.

00:30:21

Alex Earle, come to the front, girl. We need you.

00:30:23

Yeah. Yeah. I think Paige, like, we know which, where she stands.

00:30:26

When I think about like the get ready with me girls who make like $40 million, and I'm talking about like influencers, like even like Chiara Ferragni, right? Like I would say she's up there with like influencers who rake in 8 figures.

00:30:35

But she's not like a, I don't think that's who.

00:30:38

Well, it's like he's, she's like an older version of it. But like when you think about the girls who operate at that level, like from the internet, mm-hmm. Let me tell you, like it's insane what goes on in their day-to-days. Yeah. I hate this.

00:30:51

Yeah.

00:30:51

Hate, loathe entirely.

00:30:55

Are you ready for our next story, which is some really sweet news?

00:30:57

Finally.

00:30:58

Dancing with the Stars showmance. Have you seen this?

00:31:00

What?

00:31:00

Dancing with the Stars pro has confirmed her romance with a co-star, but it's asterisk. Okay, okay.

00:31:06

What?

00:31:06

Adele Zeichmann, okay, has confirmed that she is dating her competitor from Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, Alan Genkin.

00:31:14

Oh, okay, so Definitely asterisk.

00:31:17

Heavy on the asterisk.

00:31:18

Even starting with Adele, like, she's new. So even if she was dating like Sasha, I would be like, okay.

00:31:22

No, no, if she was dating a pro, that would be—

00:31:26

Bigger?

00:31:26

Huge. But people watch Dancing with the Stars and ex-pro.

00:31:30

And it was a very divisive show.

00:31:32

Like, it was really— This guy will be in the orbit of Dancing with the Stars.

00:31:35

Is he in the troupe?

00:31:36

I don't know what he's in, but he's on set with her. He's very cute.

00:31:40

Let me see, they hard launched.

00:31:42

They hard launched and then everyone commented like, Conor Leavitt, oh my God, so glad I can, you know, finally say it out loud.

00:31:47

Oh my God.

00:31:47

Which is classic.

00:31:49

She's gorgeous, by the way. Extremely good-looking couple. What's his name?

00:31:53

Alan Genkin. G-E-N-K-I-N.

00:31:56

So cute.

00:31:57

Um, Conor Leavitt, hardest secret I ever kept. You know, he's classic.

00:32:02

And when people say that these days, like, they almost have to be saying it ironically because it's such like a pick-me thing to say.

00:32:08

Yeah, he said, oh, Emma Slater wrote Hard Launch. Oh my God, I've had no one to talk to about this until now. That's cute.

00:32:15

No, that's like a very undercurrent, like, under, uh, like, handed way of saying, like, so glad that I could finally share with the world.

00:32:22

Connor, so I don't need to keep this a secret anymore?

00:32:24

Hahaha. Oh my God, it's giving I knew first. I hate when people do that.

00:32:29

PETA Murgatroyd, who we spoke about yesterday. Well, this is hot.

00:32:34

Agreed. They're a very good looking couple.

00:32:35

They are. It's exciting.

00:32:36

And it's also good for her career. Like, I think that in order to be like a true pro, you have to like have lots of drama, romance, heartbreak with your fellow pros and contestants. It's sort of just the life cycle of being a Dancing with the Stars pro.

00:32:48

Yeah. And I think you're like attracted to your fellow dancer.

00:32:50

You're like— They spend so much time together.

00:32:52

They probably like fell in love on the show and they've been dating for a long time. And I think that it's really cute.

00:32:56

I think it's really cute too.

00:32:58

We were also saying yesterday, I said off the show that if I were on Dancing with the Stars, I want my partner to be—

00:33:02

To be Max.

00:33:04

Yeah. And I think— Not even just cuz of namesake.

00:33:06

No, I think that go, like, have the best time. Nobody else wants him. Enjoy. He's all yours.

00:33:12

I think we would win. I wanna win.

00:33:15

Yeah. I have thought about it more also, like, and I'm pretty set on Yan Ravnick.

00:33:20

Really?

00:33:21

Yeah. One, he is, I have started to follow pretty much all the pros. He is so funny. He has this list called the DTM list. It's called Dead to Me. And it's like when somebody does something like they're dead to him, basically like me, we both have lists.

00:33:33

Yeah. Like dated.

00:33:33

Same.

00:33:33

And people can't get off the list.

00:33:33

Like it's kind of like, like a big deal to be on the list. And obviously the Taylor connection. I don't know if he's gonna go on tour, but like, I would love to like stay in contact with him after my season in case I need tickets or something. Um, and I think we would really get along, and he's just like funny.

00:33:45

Oh, cute.

00:33:46

Yeah, I'm pretty set.

00:33:47

But are you in it to win it?

00:33:49

I don't know. He's crushing it with— yeah, Tatiana.

00:33:53

He is.

00:33:54

And like, I have to give him grace for last season. We were pretty hard on him. It was his first season.

00:33:58

Yeah.

00:33:58

And he's coming off the Taylor tour. He probably thinks he's like a hotshot.

00:34:01

And also like this season, the 2 first first-year pros were out the first week.

00:34:04

Exactly. Honestly, the fact that he made it so far is impressive.

00:34:07

Yeah.

00:34:08

And I think he will make it really far with Tatiana. He's my king.

00:34:11

Yeah.

00:34:12

What? And also, I love his name. Like, I, I can't call him Jan— Jan Rovnik. Like, I just love saying it.

00:34:17

I mean, if Joey Graziano was a pro, I would date him. Match with him. I guess Maxim.

00:34:22

Yes, you keep saying it like that. It's all about like the vocal stim. Alan Bernstein just like doesn't hit, you know?

00:34:28

Yeah.

00:34:29

Yeah, it's true.

00:34:30

Sasha Farber. Last night I was like craving like some good dances, so I went on YouTube to like watch some of the best dances.

00:34:36

Would you Google like Dancing with the Stars compilation?

00:34:38

Yeah, no, I didn't want to watch a compilation.

00:34:40

Oh, okay.

00:34:40

I wanted like to choose my— and I didn't have a positive experience. Everyone said I had to watch Jordan Fisher's like 3-way salsa with Corbin Bleu.

00:34:49

You watched a 3-way with Jordan Fisher?

00:34:50

I literally watched a ménage à trois.

00:34:52

Oh wait, Corbin Bleu was in the dance?

00:34:53

You know how they do that partner—

00:34:55

Dedication night.

00:34:56

I just, I think I might dedicate it to Corbin Bleu. I might have to skip that night this year. I'm uncomfortable.

00:35:01

You know what? When I think about the impact that Corbin Bleu had on my childhood, like, yeah, I also might dedicate my dance.

00:35:06

You might all have a threesome with him.

00:35:07

Well, you know what I was thinking the other night? Like, if I was on Dancing with the Stars, which I never want to be, do you? Who would I dedicate to? 'Cause like, obviously I have 3 sisters, like I can't choose one. Um, but to be honest, like, I don't think Ben would do a good job and like, it would give me like the ick. It would have to be you, right?

00:35:22

It'd be me. Because also like the story that you would tell about like the, I mean, we would post, post.

00:35:25

Yeah, of course.

00:35:25

Like we would just talk about the toast, right, on Dancing with the Stars, and like how we're so simpaticos. So like, I think everyone would understand why it's me, and that would be my dream.

00:35:34

Yeah, no, I think that we would crush it.

00:35:36

Except for the fact that I have an aversion to 3-way nights.

00:35:38

Yeah, it's like, it's very corny and like awkward. I hate it. Yeah.

00:35:42

And so even this salsa with Lindsay, Corbin, and Jordan, like, which people commented yesterday, like, you have to watch this. It was uncomfortable. She's like going back.

00:35:51

You just plan a trip for when dedication night is. Like, you and Zach take like a vacation.

00:35:55

Just know I'm not recapping the next day.

00:35:56

Like, it's uncomfy. I am.

00:35:59

It's uncomfy.

00:36:00

Oh, I don't know if you saw, like, people dying for next week Dancing with the Stars to be story number 1.

00:36:04

Okay, I love it. Yeah, me too.

00:36:05

I feel that it'll help with the flow.

00:36:07

I love it.

00:36:08

Sometimes when we have like something— that's how I felt about Pete Davidson today.

00:36:10

You're like—

00:36:11

It's like when you have to poop, like, just get it out.

00:36:12

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:36:13

You know, I'm at that stage of pregnancy where I have so many boogers. Like, I just wanna say, if you saw me driving to work today, my finger like shoved up my nose.

00:36:18

I was the only one who saw you driving to work today.

00:36:20

And did you see me picking my nose?

00:36:21

I did not.

00:36:22

Oh my God. Like, the boogers that come when you're pregnant are—

00:36:24

Someone's taking a picture.

00:36:25

I hope so. They're insane. And it's like, I've lost really the ability to not do it in public, you know, because I'm so uncomfortable. And if you see me going like this, you know, oh, just know I'm in hell. I remember that from the first pregnancy, like kind of my biggest, my leading symptom was the boogers. They're like different shapes and sizes and it's texture-wise, it's just like a nightmare.

00:36:46

Yeah.

00:36:46

Yeah. So if you see me cruising around these streets, cuz like the car feels like a safe space to pick your nose, but it's not.

00:36:52

It's full of windows.

00:36:53

It's literally like a fishbowl. Like it's not at all. But you think like you have some sort of anonymity in the car, like you don't.

00:37:00

Yeah.

00:37:01

But like, you gotta do what you gotta do.

00:37:03

Yeah. I also was looking at old, like the past winners, 'cause I was like curious. Oh yeah.

00:37:09

The winners are never like obvious.

00:37:11

But I also feel like it's more competitive these days. I don't know why. Do you feel, except that all the dances were shite.

00:37:16

The whole franchise like has really like just been leveled up and up and up. So yeah, when you watch like when Kim was on, which was like season 10, Like, it's just different.

00:37:22

Like, Emmitt Smith won, which is crazy.

00:37:24

Who's that?

00:37:25

He's a former Dallas Cowboy from the '90s, so he's like an older athlete, like a— who's the guy?

00:37:29

Baron Davis.

00:37:30

Yeah, and he won.

00:37:31

Yeah.

00:37:32

And then, oh, I watched Iman Shumpert dance with King L. Do you— have you seen that one? The spooky one?

00:37:35

Yeah, where they're wearing like, um, like red jumpsuits. Yeah, tracksuits.

00:37:39

Yeah.

00:37:39

What?

00:37:40

Yeah, so that was also like— that's when it's really exciting, like somebody random. You think like a big lanky athlete who like isn't so coordinated dance-wise That's when it's really fun. Like even Guillermo, like someone unexpected.

00:37:50

Yeah, no, but he just like got to be amazing.

00:37:53

Yeah, and I think it also speaks to her.

00:37:54

Her, I mean, that— what kind of dance is that?

00:37:56

What even is that? She's so special, that Daniela.

00:37:58

She is, she is. So I wonder what Maxim would cook up for me.

00:38:03

A beating, that's what he would cook up for you.

00:38:06

A spanking. Actually, no, I've seen like one clip of him yelling at someone.

00:38:10

Next time you're on YouTube, do Maxim toxic compilation. Well, so it used to be like a very, you know, culture has changed.

00:38:17

Like, like Gordon Ramsay.

00:38:18

Yes, called an idiot sandwich. Like, culture has changed where it's like, you used to be like— now they're all like best friends when they talk about their connection. Like, I've been seeing, you know, all these tributes to Taylor Hanson from Brit, and it's like, what did you guys even talk about? Like, you're both— it's not romantic, you're both happily married. So it's like, but when they talk about this love that they have for one another, I guess like you really just have to experience it because it's like the trenches. But no, it used to be like training camp. Yeah. Like boot camp. Your worst nightmare.

00:38:45

Not really.

00:38:45

No, not you. I'm saying like everyone else. Contestants were scared.

00:38:48

Not me. If I'm, if I'm in it, I'm in it to win it.

00:38:51

Chilling.

00:38:53

I feel like not everyone's in it to win it.

00:38:56

No.

00:38:56

Have you seen Kellie Pickler's freestyle with Derek Hough?

00:38:59

Have you seen Lisa Vanderpump's fake faint with Gleb?

00:39:01

I have, because the guy's hot.

00:39:03

The more I watch Dancing with the Stars, the more I understand her.

00:39:05

Of course. The ones that went on The Masked Singer, you understand her.

00:39:08

1,000%. Sometimes you're just like, like have to get out of a situation.

00:39:10

Like she lived down the street.

00:39:12

Yeah, right, but she's like an older woman. Like, the— I fully understand why Lisa Vanderpump fake fainted and like took herself out of the competition.

00:39:18

You have to see this dance between Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough.

00:39:21

Okay.

00:39:21

Like, it's as if it's one of his like professional—

00:39:23

It looks like he's dancing with Julianne.

00:39:25

She's amazing.

00:39:27

Okay, what's that Kellie Pickler song? Like the one, you know what I'm talking about? It's like her most famous. I don't, uh, I'll Google it. She like started her music career and like quickly ended it and then became just sort of like a host. But she—

00:39:42

Red High Heels?

00:39:43

No, next.

00:39:43

Best Days of Your Life?

00:39:45

00:39:48

00:43:45

Thank you, Plan Your Turt. You're welcome, Plan Your Turt. Our 4th story, Ariana Madix has a new job. She starring in a show called Future Housewives. It's a drama in the works at Peacock from Seth MacFarlane.

00:44:00

Mm-hmm.

00:44:00

And Brannon Braga. Future Housewives is set in the decadent asteroid colony of New Beverly Hills, where wealthy socialites juggle bioengineered beauty regimens, ruthless rivalries, and interplanetary scandals. But when a young starry-eyed outsider, played by Ariana, unexpectedly upends their glamorous world, it exposes just how far they've drifted out of touch in a society evolving beyond superficiality. In this sharply satirical yet surprisingly heartfelt reinvention of reality TV. All this sounds crazy except for Seth MacFarlane being a part of it.

00:44:33

No, it sounds like really legit. Like she's a lead role on a Seth MacFarlane-created show on— what is it, Peacock? Is that what we said?

00:44:39

It's going to be on Peacock. Yeah, she's sort of a darling.

00:44:40

That's like crazy.

00:44:41

Yeah.

00:44:42

And she doesn't have a lot of acting experience beyond she's on Broadway, which a lot of people get plucked from Broadway.

00:44:48

So—

00:44:48

Hold the phone. She starred in Um, Lifetime movie Buying Back My Daughter, and she has appeared—

00:44:56

The Teresa Giudice story.

00:44:59

And she has appeared in series including NBC's St. Dennis Medical, ABC's Will Trent, um, and the Roger Corman-produced Attack of the 50-Foot Cheerleader.

00:45:08

There are so many TV shows. I was watching, maybe it was Dancing with the Stars, and I was seeing a commercial and I was like, TV's number one show is back, The Tracker. I've never even heard of that. How's that TV's number one show? Like, it was insane. There are so many TV shows.

00:45:21

Sorry, I digress.

00:45:21

It's probably TV's number number one show with women who lost the remote, like 8 o'clock PM on the East Coast in rural—

00:45:30

There was definitely a bunch of little text at the bottom.

00:45:32

No, it's not just number one, period.

00:45:34

It just made me chuckle. Justin Hartley, I guess I didn't know he was on the number one show on television. Did you know that? The Tracker.

00:45:39

That makes sense. Yeah, Justin Hartley, classic.

00:45:43

So good for Ariana. I feel like her, like, gravy train, like, sort of never ends. Like, yeah, I think because she actually like is talented. I think that, you know, she sort of invented the prototype of like—

00:45:55

The breakup.

00:45:55

Sierra Miller, the— what'd you say?

00:45:58

Breakup arc.

00:45:59

Breakup arc, yes, exactly. Of like being the wronged woman and the fans rally behind you and they get you brand deals and like it just sort of never stops with Ariana.

00:46:07

But like riding that into the sunset, like—

00:46:10

It's not just a moment in time.

00:46:11

Yeah, but I think it's both, you know, she got so much much hype, hype when it all happened. And then she has been like successfully working every avenue. And yeah, she did Dancing with the Stars. She won, right? Did she?

00:46:24

Did she do Dancing with the Stars? Didn't she do Dancing with the Stars? I feel like that sounds right.

00:46:27

I think that was The Pipeline.

00:46:31

She didn't win, but she was on.

00:46:34

Yeah. And that like took her to Broadway, similar to like Whitney Leavitt.

00:46:36

Yeah, right, right. No, and it's— I feel like it's inspiring for someone like Whitney or Ciara to like watch that it's not just like this blimp.

00:46:43

It's not a flash in the pan, and it doesn't have to be. I mean, it can be anything.

00:46:47

You need the chops. Like, she does sing, she does act.

00:46:49

Because the cream rises. It's true.

00:46:52

And like, you would have just never known if you— I feel like a lot of people like who are fans of Ariana Madix like know her from Love Island, like very Gen Z. Like, if you watched Vanderpump Rules, like, you would die if you knew now. Like, 10 years ago you told me like Ariana's gonna be starring in a Seth MacFarlane show.

00:47:06

Like, if you watch Vanderpump Rules and all of them were like struggling actors, like waitressing as a means to become an actor.

00:47:11

Right, in LA.

00:47:12

And if you looked at the cast and said one of these people is going to be on Broadway, going to be in a television show, going to be Emmy-nominated—

00:47:18

I wouldn't have even— you could have given me 15 guesses, I wouldn't even have said Ariana, 'cause for so many years she wasn't even a castmate.

00:47:24

She was like in the background.

00:47:25

She was Sheena's friend, and then she was Tom's girlfriend, and like she wasn't really on the show. And even when she was on the show, she really never meaningfully contributed to it until Scandaval. Oh, Scandaval, excuse me. Um, and so it's actually even more impressive that she's as far as she is given the fact that she's not like Stassi, you know? Like, she wasn't a star of Vanderpump Rules really at all.

00:47:44

Yeah.

00:47:45

She's sort of just like one of the last ones standing by the end. Yeah.

00:47:49

Yeah.

00:47:49

Very impressive. Um, and she obviously like is being managed well too. Like, she has a good relationship with Peacock. Like, they want to invest more in her.

00:47:56

Yes. Here's her team if you wanted to know.

00:47:58

No, I'm okay.

00:47:59

If you're looking to get into a Seth MacFarlane show?

00:48:02

Oh, um, I just really like podcasting. Like right now, I like sitting behind a desk. I feel like when you're on camera, like people can really see like what you look like. And I am just pleased with like my angles and my Instagram stories for now.

00:48:15

Yeah, but eventually you would wanna be on a Seth MacFarlane show?

00:48:18

Like when I'm done like having my children and I get my full body makeover and like lobotomy and somebody says like, we want you to star in a set, I'd be like, sure, I'll try it. You know, at that point I will try anything. I'm in the phase now where like, I'm actually not willing to try anything even remotely new.

00:48:32

Yeah, I agree with that. I really like Seth MacFarlane.

00:48:36

I love Seth MacFarlane.

00:48:38

Ted is my favorite movie.

00:48:39

Like, there— he could do no wrong because of Ted.

00:48:42

It's true.

00:48:43

And I don't even think he's like done much since Ted that like I would like or watch, but I don't care because we will always have Ted and Ted 2.

00:48:48

Ted is the greatest movie of all time.

00:48:50

And you know they came out with a Peacock original show. Like, why didn't we watch it? A Ted show.

00:48:53

I don't know. I don't need— like, cuz I'm satisfied.

00:48:56

Yeah.

00:48:57

Ted does everything for me.

00:48:58

It's true, and then some with Ted 2, which was also really good.

00:49:02

You're still quoting Ted.

00:49:03

Oh my God, I, I am Ted. Like, I, I never left the restaurant, like, with Ted, for real.

00:49:08

Yeah. Are you ready for our 5th and final story, which is gonna make you mad?

00:49:12

Oh, it was kind of a theme today.

00:49:14

Really?

00:49:14

Pete Davidson.

00:49:15

Oh, okay, okay. This is another trope that, like, makes you mad.

00:49:19

Uh, who got a DUI?

00:49:20

No, a woman having to give a man money.

00:49:22

Ugh, I feel sick.

00:49:24

Sia sells half of her music catalog for nearly $200 million, but she may have to pay her ex-husband. So Sia is getting a huge paycheck after selling off half of her music. The singer has reportedly sold half of her stake in her music catalog to an investment company called Pop House for $180 million, according to TMZ. However, her ex-husband is likely also getting a chunk of that money thanks to their divorce. So per documents obtained by TMZ, Sia will get $165 million for the songs that she wrote before getting married to Dan. including Cheap Thrills, Chandelier, and more. He has agreed reportedly to waive any rights to that money, the songs that she wrote before they got married, if she gives him $1 million.

00:50:02

Oh, just a million?

00:50:04

Just a million for all the songs that she wrote before they even got married, which he literally has no claim to because it's before they got married.

00:50:09

Oh yeah, so it's like, yeah, I'll give—

00:50:10

if you give me a million, but why would I give you anything?

00:50:12

Yeah, okay, fine. That's funny.

00:50:13

Then the songs that she wrote while they're married, there's an extra $15 million for those songs that she wrote after that they got married. That money will be put aside and held in escrow, which could eventually be fought over between the exes if they can't come to an agreement on it.

00:50:27

Here's the thing though, is like, obviously he's insane, but it's like low-key a good deal. Like, can I just pay him?

00:50:32

Yeah.

00:50:33

Like, your music is worth so much more than $16 million, so just like give him like $7.5 million. But it's not— that's not even close to half. That's not even close to 50% of what she's worth.

00:50:40

No, but it's like—

00:50:41

Maybe she's not liquid though. A lot of rich people are not.

00:50:44

Well, now she is. She just got $100 million.

00:50:45

Oh right, I think that's probably why she sold it. So girl, like, just give him the $15 million.

00:50:48

And then also she has to pay him $42,500 a month for child support.

00:50:52

No shame. Like, literally no shame. I'm sorry, any man— extenuating circumstances not included— any man who takes like child support or like, uh, what's the other one when you don't have kids? Alimony. You should be embarrassed. Like, you really should.

00:51:07

And they were married for 2 years.

00:51:10

Yeah, celebrities need to stop getting married because like it means nothing to them. Um, and they should just have like weddings and stuff like with no legal—

00:51:16

Of course, not legally binding.

00:51:17

Yeah, like don't sign the thing. Yeah, like we're married.

00:51:21

Yeah, I wish Taylor and Travis should have done something like that.

00:51:24

No, but Taylor would never get herself into a pickle like this.

00:51:27

Right, right, right. But like Sia—

00:51:29

Some things are unavoidable given like where you get married and what the law is.

00:51:32

Yeah.

00:51:35

But I feel confident that Taylor has systems in place. Like he's not getting a dollar. Not a dollar, not a dime.

00:51:42

Yeah, the— yeah. Kylie and Timothée. should do that.

00:51:47

Yeah, and I think that a lot of celebrities get to a place where like they don't even consider getting married or even engaged. They're just like with the person.

00:51:53

You could get married, have a wedding, call each other husband and wife, and just like don't do the paperwork.

00:52:00

100%.

00:52:00

That works for me. You don't even have to tell me about it.

00:52:02

And I'm surprised that like it hasn't become more of a trend within Hollywood. Like there's so many like, you know, um, cautionary tales of this happening to so many celebrities, both male and female. And I wonder why they all continue to get married. Like, are you guys stupid?

00:52:14

But I also feel like it can—

00:52:15

They probably just all think that they're different.

00:52:16

No, but I think it actually can be done relatively successfully. Like, we don't hear anything—

00:52:19

J.Lo.

00:52:20

Kim and Kanye.

00:52:22

True. And J.Lo and Ben Affleck. They both had enormous estates and they got divorced so quickly.

00:52:27

Like, painlessly.

00:52:28

Yeah, they definitely were like, what's mine is mine, what's yours is yours. Like, if we want to— I think they had like a marital home that they sold and split.

00:52:33

And so, yeah, it's nice when they're on the same level.

00:52:36

Sia and this rando are not.

00:52:37

Yeah, exactly.

00:52:38

And so like, when one is like poor and like trying to steal from you, it would obviously starts.

00:52:42

And then it's the argument, you know, the child is accustomed to this way of life, I need $42,000 a month.

00:52:46

Sorry, I also just want to say, because I know people are gonna like come for me, unless the dad has like sole custody, sure, you can collect child support. But like, you don't, you don't.

00:52:54

If they're splitting custody, then they split the expenses.

00:52:58

But I guess like, what if one of them is like super wealthy? Like, then you have to go to dad's house and like dad's poor, right?

00:53:02

That's what I was just saying. And the child is accustomed to—

00:53:04

I take it back, it's not, it's not 100%, but like coming for like someone's work And like, what's $42,000 a month per year? 40 times 12, carry the 6. I'm gonna say $250,000. No, that's really dumb. I'm gonna say $700,000.

00:53:21

$500,000.

00:53:23

Plus $16 million lump sum.

00:53:26

Plus $1 million plus potentially half of the $15 million.

00:53:31

Yeah, be careful who you marry. Yeah, I just feel like it never hurts to have a prenup because like you could always cancel it.

00:53:38

She definitely did. She got married in 2000.

00:53:40

Well, yeah, a lot of times celebrities have prenups.

00:53:42

She got married in the '90s.

00:53:43

A lot of celebrities have prenups that don't hold up in court. That's why it was such a big deal when Kelly Bryant's did. Oh, I saw Kelly Bryant was on a podcast.

00:53:50

Um, she spanks.

00:53:51

Saying what?

00:53:52

She spanks her kids. I saw someone sent me a quote that she's like said something about—

00:53:57

Well, she's brave for going there. Like, that's insane. No, asking her if she's dating or gonna date. And she was like, no. One, because she feels that it would really rattle her kids. That's just not what she's willing to do. And two, she feels so happy in her life. She feels like she's finally at a place where she has peace. She says, I get into bed and I'm not exhausted from my life. And you have to give up a lot of time and space to a person. She's like, I don't want to right now. So Queen Kelly, single until she meets the right fella.

00:54:24

I think this is from 2018.

00:54:26

Where she said she spanks her kids?

00:54:27

Yeah.

00:54:28

That's insane. Okay. Like literally it's giving Corey Gamble.

00:54:30

Oh my God. I'm sorry for bringing that up. If you've been like trying to run from that, it's giving Corey Gamble. Yeah. That was a topic of conversation in 2018.

00:54:38

At one point.

00:54:39

In 2018.

00:54:39

Listen, I think a lot of people talk about it in the privacy of their homes. Like you would never catch me getting involved in that topic. Um, but Kelly Bryant, Kelly Bryant's gonna Kelly Bryant. Do you wanna cut that out?

00:54:49

She probably has been trying to bury that.

00:54:51

She said, Kelly doesn't have scandal.

00:54:52

She said was like, I find nothing wrong with spanking, like my parents spanking me.

00:54:55

And like, I don't, Oh my God, she's so crazy.

00:54:58

Um, I'm really sorry for saying it and repeating it again.

00:55:01

3 times now. And what exactly did she say? No, I'm kidding. Um, no, no, don't pick up your iPad. I was kidding. Um, no, that's not the podcast I saw her on. I think it might have been Lots of Cultures Does. Um, and she was just like— she seemed so like at peace. Like, obviously what happened with her ex-husband is so tragic, but I think there was also like a lot of trauma there, so she's probably just like at a really good place.

00:55:22

Yeah.

00:55:22

And like Kelly at the Sphere, when? Then we'll go to Vegas.

00:55:26

Uh, I hope Kelly doesn't go to the Sphere because I actually don't think that I can handle it given your motion sickness conditions, your propensity for motion sickness. Yeah, so like please no one I ever love go to the Sphere. Okay, someone that my sister loves go to the Sphere so that we—

00:55:40

you can babysit—

00:55:42

so that we— that— so that we have cause to go to Vegas.

00:55:44

Okay, Mimi Webb, stay away from the Sphere.

00:55:46

Rascal Flats, stay away from the Sphere.

00:55:48

Oh my God, Rascal Flatts at the Sphere. Like, life is a highway and there's probably like all these roads.

00:55:52

Like, but like you could do like Chris Stapleton at the Sphere.

00:55:55

Yeah, you also have to like be doing drugs. I feel, I feel like the Sphere for certain— It is drugs, you know, when the Grateful Dead has like a residency there. But I guess you do the Grateful Dead drugs.

00:56:05

Yeah, no, no, no, I think the Sphere is drugs. Like, it gives you the feeling of being on drugs because it's like psychedelic.

00:56:11

And I'm like pretty sure like everyone in the Sphere is on drugs.

00:56:13

Oh my God, no, it's a family-friendly environment.

00:56:15

Okay, okay, maybe not at like the Wizard of Oz screenings.

00:56:17

It's a family-friendly podcast. People listen in the car with their kids.

00:56:19

I'm pretty sure everybody who goes to like the musical events there, the Eagles, like, yeah.

00:56:23

Well, Eagles might just be drugs.

00:56:25

I think Ben has been to the Sphere. Yeah, he went to see the Eagles. They were on a bachelor party and there was like a show at the Sphere and they went.

00:56:31

Yeah. That's 2 times this week you brought up the Eagles on the show.

00:56:33

What was the first time?

00:56:34

I said it yesterday about something.

00:56:35

The band or the football team?

00:56:37

The band.

00:56:38

You know, I happen to really like that one song that I thought was a Reba song, but my bad.

00:56:41

I don't even know it.

00:56:43

I've been running down the road trying to loosen my load. I got 7 women on my mind. And I thought it's a Reba song because when Reba was on The View— nope, The Voice, you know, like they have all the coaches perform together. So it was John Legend, Niall Horan— add this to the list of things I always bring up, I always bring up this performance— Reba and Gwen Stefani. And they came up like singing a country song and Reba started. They're all looking at Reba, so I just assumed they were like singing one of her songs. And like, how cute, we're all singing Reba's song my whole life. But after that, I thought that it was a— and then I think I went to like an Eagles game and they were like singing. I'm like, why did I listen to Reba? Like, my mistake. It was confusing. Yeah, that's an amazing performance.

00:57:20

Well, thank you so much for bringing that to light.

00:57:22

Um, I've also been seeing a lot of— because, you know, I'm like The Voice curious. I haven't watched it yet, but, um, with like the new judges, Queen Latifah and Riley Green, I've been like really interested in seeing it. Everything I'm seeing like looks amazing, although I do feel like like Kelly is like having to fight for contestants, like with Queen Latifah. They kind of like cover the same very maternal, very boisterous singing voice. Um, so I think they're like fighting for people, and Adam Levine and Riley Green are not. It's like insane that The Voice keeps Adam Levine employed. He's like so random.

00:57:52

Insane that Riley Green is a—

00:57:54

I know, I know.

00:57:56

He's bare—

00:57:56

especially when you think of Blake Shelton, who was like the king of country and the one who did nothing.

00:57:59

king of country. He's like— he's so new, like maybe like a small duke. He's like Gen Z, like a small province.

00:58:07

Like it should be Luke— oh well, Luke Bryan's on American Idol, but like one of those.

00:58:10

There's a million. Yeah, should be Morgan Wallen because he came from The Voice.

00:58:14

He did. I don't think he would be a good coach.

00:58:16

No, I don't.

00:58:16

He'd take everyone drinking.

00:58:17

Not even, uh, possible.

00:58:19

No, he wouldn't be good.

00:58:20

Um, okay, that's our show.

00:58:23

It is. Thank you guys so much for listening. Of course, like, we couldn't appreciate it Literally anymore.
