Today's episode of The Toast is brought to you by Dulcolax.

00:00:06

Good morning, girlies.

00:00:08

It's The Toast.

00:00:11

It's Jackson, Claudine.

00:00:13

We're your hosts. It's your favorite show, the fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's The Toast.

00:00:25

I sound amazing.

00:00:27

Welcome back to The Toast and happy Wednesday! Yeah, it's Wednesday, hump day!

00:00:32

Yeah, Wednesday, that's a win.

00:00:34

So much TV to watch last night, it's obviously Wednesday. I would know, I would know it's Wednesday because of the amount of time I sat on my ass last night and watched TV. Yeah, so many hours. Summer House, Transition in the City, Watch What Happens Live, the Knicks game off campus. I'm seriously like a brain rot Gen Z teenager.

00:00:51

How'd you watch Knicks game and off campus after the Knicks game.

00:00:53

The Knicks game went really late. It was kind of like—

00:00:56

I knew Zach was out with your husband and I went to sleep before he got home.

00:00:59

So I was like, they were out, but once I didn't watch Watch What Happens Live, once In the City was over, which by the way, towards the end of In the City, I was getting so bored.

00:01:05

I know, I'm like, I've been bamboozled into watching a show that I actually didn't really wanna watch.

00:01:09

I probably wasn't going to watch it had it not been for Scandal of All, but like meeting new people, like I was just getting so bored at the end. And honestly, I don't know how many times we could beat the dead horse of like Kyle and Amanda. It was not some great love. Like I was just, I found it interesting in the beginning and then I loved seeing the girlies and Lindsay, but like towards the end I was like, I mean, it's hard to meet new people, you know, especially when like these are the people we're meeting. I had a lot of issues with some of the people that we met.

00:01:32

Like who? Actually, let's start with the positive. Was there anyone that we liked?

00:01:35

You know who was like looking good and not bothering me? Andrea? Danielle, always.

00:01:39

Danielle was looking good.

00:01:40

She like, I don't know what she— I think this bob is like really serving her. And I don't know what it was about her, but she like wasn't bothering me in the way that she usually does. I thought she was being cute. Her boyfriend's spelling of his name is my personal Super Bowl. It is bar none. The craziest thing that's ever happened on this show.

00:01:59

It is the Super Bowl of name spelling and extraneous vowels.

00:02:02

So— and it's also just like, it's Owen.

00:02:05

I own—

00:02:05

but no, it's literally just Owen.

00:02:07

Why think I'm calling him Owen for one second?

00:02:10

I can't imagine that we're actually going to be calling him a lot. Like, I don't foresee him being pregnant. That's what's crazy.

00:02:16

Um, I think they're the central drama because he's married.

00:02:18

Oh, right, right, right, right.

00:02:20

We just learned that.

00:02:21

I was like, exciting— excited when we were meeting new people and it was like Lindsay's mom friends. Like what— like they just seemed like interesting, cool girls. That's what I thought the show was going to be. And then like the more we expanded, I got such, such bad vibes from Kenny. And like I was excited cuz I knew Whitney from The Bachelor.

00:02:35

What's so funny is Whitney was on The Bachelor. She made it to the top 8 of whose season was that? Nick? I think it was Nick. Astrid. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cuz Whitney and Astrid were like best friends and they looked like— and we actually don't know anything about her personality because like she never spoke on The Bachelor. We just like know that she's very beautiful. So when she came on the show and she was like, I'm this positive, like, girl, I'm like, I didn't know that about you.

00:02:58

It just— it wasn't working for me. One, I think they're just super mismatched. And when they introduced Kenny as, like, Kyle's friend who has a lot in common because they love to party, I was like, oh yikes. Um, I just got really bad vibes. I, I liked Lindsay's read on him also. Like, yeah, we're just like, she did move across the country for you. It is a really big deal. So all that to say, like, By the end of the show, like once we were out of Amanda, once they went back 7 months, it was just a show. Like it's just an episode of The Valley.

00:03:25

Yeah, and I was like, I can't believe I'm watching this now. That's like not what I wanted to watch, but I'll watch it because like it's Jermaine too, Wes Mandeville.

00:03:33

Then that's why I then started watching the Knick game, cuz Ben was out and they were like losing by 20, 30 points. So I was like slowly falling asleep cuz like it was over. Um, and then I felt Ben get into bed, I don't know how many hours later, and he was like— I don't know who he was talking to cuz I was asleep— he was like, they won. I'm like, are you talking to me? And I was like, wait, they did? So I must have missed something major because Timothée Chalamet posted an Instagram. No.

00:03:55

Oh, that's why I didn't know anything about it.

00:03:57

You think Kylie and Timothée— I cannot say their names— Timothée and Kylie are gonna get married? Like, do you think they'll get engaged this year?

00:04:07

I don't know if marriage is on the table for them at all.

00:04:10

For Kylie or for him?

00:04:12

For Kylie, I guess. Like, why not?

00:04:15

I just feel like I never would have thought, but like this year, I don't know, they feel so serious. Like all the— and now it's just like she talked about—

00:04:20

I definitely think they're gonna have babies.

00:04:22

I don't know if they're gonna do the marriage, but her and Travis never got married. Yeah, the Kardashians like don't get married. Yeah, they don't, because when they do, it's so bad. Yeah, I wonder like if there's a poly market, like what are the chances that Kylie and Timothée are gonna get engaged this year?

00:04:36

Hold on, I don't see engagement for them, so I would be on like the opposite.

00:04:40

You know what I'm saying? 33% chance they're saying. That's really low.

00:04:43

That is low.

00:04:43

I kind of feel like a little bit higher, but I guess more so it's just because Kylie's like not marriage girly is what I feel. I love these pop culture predictions.

00:04:51

Yeah, I feel like that's not her, her benchmark, you know, for like what is a successful relationship or like, yeah, definitely having kids.

00:04:58

And did she say on Therapist that she wanted to have more kids?

00:05:01

She, he didn't ask that question, but we've, she has said it before.

00:05:03

Yeah.

00:05:04

And I feel like asking it now would be like like pointed because then it's like, are you looking for kids with your boyfriend Timothée Chalamet?

00:05:10

Right. Well, you can download the app now on Polly Market and use code toast to skip the waitlist and be the first in line when those pop culture markets hit live.

00:05:18

I love that.

00:05:19

Yeah, me too. So I watch so much TV, like seriously Gen Z brain rot. I also finished, I actually didn't even finish Off Campus, but I finished My Journey with Off Campus.

00:05:27

You didn't?

00:05:27

Yeah, you know, I hate to be a naysayer 'cause I know so many people are liking it. Like I get it, sometimes you like brain rot stuff, but you guys, it's bad. Like I'm sorry, and people did not like time. People didn't like when I said that. Like, you have—

00:05:40

happens all the time where like the thing is actually bad.

00:05:43

Like, not all the time, actually.

00:05:46

Not with everything.

00:05:46

We have a high bar. We have a high bar. This is really not good, you guys. Like, it's so corny. It's Hallmark, but then like we got into Lifetime because like there was some like, you know, they covered the topic of domestic violence.

00:06:00

Like, it's Degrassi.

00:06:02

Oh my God, it's Degrassi. Like, it's so fucking corny. I can't take it. And like It's just not giving anymore. So I—

00:06:09

again, if Degrassi came out today, like, you guys would be sad. You—

00:06:12

oh, absolutely. 35-year-old Degrassi did come out today. It's called Off Campus, right?

00:06:17

Yeah, right. And that's what you're watching.

00:06:19

2 episodes left. I'm, I'm personally— maybe I'm too old, or maybe I'm too mature, maybe I'm too wise. Like, I'm done.

00:06:25

I'm happy to hear it. You have to have— know your boundaries.

00:06:29

Yeah.

00:06:30

And your limitations.

00:06:31

I also feel like I— so I'm pretty much caught up on my contemplate, of course, for the 3 books that I have to read, but also I have 2 episodes of Rowery to catch up on, and this fight between Kelsey and Rosie. Did you watch it?

00:06:40

No, but everyone's talking about it.

00:06:42

I will get caught up by the end of the week so we can talk about it, but everyone's talking about it. And Rosie was on Watch What Happens Live.

00:06:47

It couldn't have been last night, but maybe tonight.

00:06:50

Yeah, maybe tonight. I, I love to see that. Like, I think Rosie won the fight.

00:06:55

I'm seeing that sentiment, yes, but I don't really want to like engage too much because I really want to have my own opinion.

00:07:01

Yeah, I agree.

00:07:02

So we'll watch it at some point, hopefully before the end of the week. Yeah, yeah, maybe tonight.

00:07:06

Yeah, because Thursday there's another Knicks game. Like, I'm so— I'm literally Samantha from Sex and the City. I'm actually Kylie from Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

00:07:14

But what did Samantha do?

00:07:15

Samantha starts dating this guy in this one episode that's like obsessed with sports, specifically the Knicks, and she says she doesn't get laid unless the Knicks win. And so she like gets really into basketball, and like finally the Knicks lose like for the season, and she's kind of relieved. And then he like turns on baseball. Like, it's a funny episode. People always like compare Kylie to that, but like also me.

00:07:31

Yeah. Oh, that's really funny. Yeah. Well, I want to get into the stories because I want to talk about Summer House. Like, yeah, in an official capacity, trailer came out and like, that's just—

00:07:41

did you feel like it was a really long trailer? Which I appreciated.

00:07:44

Yeah, just in terms of like, it felt long because I was like watching it on my phone, so I was like, is, is there a time limit?

00:07:49

It also felt long because like I literally kept pausing, like I had to like see people's faces. Um, and you know what I'm just now realizing? West was not in the inaugural episode of In the City.

00:07:58

He's not on In the City. He's not like a— oh, maybe—

00:08:01

oh, I don't know why I thought he was.

00:08:03

Maybe he'll be on it like when him and Amanda get together because she's on it now.

00:08:05

They're eligible.

00:08:06

But he's just a random single. Like Jesse Solomon's not on In the City. Carl's not even on, right? Yeah. Oh, we did get to see more of Lindsay's apartment. It's so nice. It's so nice.

00:08:17

Gemma's so cute. I, I found that interesting that Gemma was on the show because she's like a, a swirly who doesn't put her baby on social media.

00:08:23

So Andy asked her about that on Watch What Happens Live. She said we've had many conversations about it. Andy has spoken to Turner about it as well because Turner is the one who doesn't want Gemma. Oh, on social media and otherwise. I don't think— I think if it were up to Lindsay, she would have Gemma on social media. So she said, one, like, this is her job. She can't embark on a show about her as a mom without showing her being a mom. And she decided to just like pick her battles. Like, she's fine to keep Gemma off of social media if that's what Turner wants, but she's putting Gemma on TV because that's what she needs to do in order to provide for her daughter.

00:08:54

I feel like she is like interesting and beloved enough that she could have gotten away with not putting it on.

00:08:57

I don't think it's that important to her.

00:08:58

It's not.

00:08:59

Yeah, it's her versus Turner, not Turner and Lindsay versus the world.

00:09:03

Yeah. Okay, interesting. And Andy Cohen doesn't show his kids either, right? He like stopped. Did he?

00:09:07

Yeah, he doesn't.

00:09:09

But like when they were— I think the first one when he was little, Andy did. And maybe like something happened, like he got a bad vibe, because now he doesn't at all. Like we've never seen the girl.

00:09:16

Oh, interesting. Interesting.

00:09:19

There aren't a lot. Oh, I was thinking the other day, do we think Alex Cooper is going to show her baby on social media? I don't think so either, especially after you've been through— like, not that she's been canceled, but once you've been through like a scandal, scorned by the internet, you see a really ugly side of it that you would never willingly put the most precious thing in the world to you. So maybe before this she might have one day, but now I don't think so.

00:09:40

I'll be curious.

00:09:42

Me too.

00:09:43

But she also just doesn't share that much personal stuff, and I don't think she wants her Instagram to be— first of all, she's not like an Instagram content creator. She posts—

00:09:49

she doesn't share her life.

00:09:50

She posts like produced— her produced content. Yeah. Um, it's not like daily stories. Uh, and so I think she can get away with like not— she doesn't want to make her whole thing like a motherhood page. I actually don't think it's germane to her Instagram account.

00:10:02

Yeah, no, I agree. Um, so I'm Polly Market predicting that she's not going to. Okay, yeah, we can dive in because we're just like sort of circling these.

00:10:11

We're just like talking about the thing, so let's just talk about the thing. Oh, we majed yesterday. That was like the only major— we did maj that we did yesterday.

00:10:18

I love mahjong. I can't believe like, what did I used to do before mahjong?

00:10:21

I don't know.

00:10:22

I like literally forsake all my responsibilities to play mahjong in the middle of the day. Like, I definitely puttered around and like put more my piles away more.

00:10:28

Right now I have a pile in my bedroom that if I wasn't playing mahjong yesterday, like, I would have put away.

00:10:34

I was definitely just like really prompt with answering like all my texts and emails. That's no longer who I am. I'm just taking that from me.

00:10:41

It's just like a 2-hour gap.

00:10:42

Like, I know, but it sort of spills into— because I can't do it before and I can't do it after. Drive, of course, and like sort of recover from like all the winning. Yeah, it's a lot.

00:10:50

Um, you need to put out in your OOO.

00:10:53

Like, I need to have a daily bounce back email that's like, sorry, don't expect to respond, I'm playing Mahjong.

00:10:58

Send your email again in an hour.

00:11:00

Try again later.

00:11:01

Today's episode is starting.

00:15:49

This episode is starting. That's beautiful. Yeah, our first story. Okay, Summer House recap. Let's do In the City 5 minutes recap, right? And then reunion trailer.

00:15:59

Okay, so the finale— I don't remember in seasons past where everybody cried so much at the end of summer. Like, no, it almost felt like they knew something, even though I'm not trying to be a theorist. But like, a lot of the seasons end sometimes, like, the girls give like a long hug, but it's never so drama. And I'm not even talking about Kyle and Amanda, I'm talking about like Sierra and Amanda crying, hugging. Like, why?

00:16:20

I don't know, like, maybe Maybe for them, like, they knew that, you know, Amanda has to go do this big thing and divorce her husband, so like they're crying for that. But it did also feel like everyone was just like sad to be leaving each other. Yeah, they were also probably like hungover and just like emo. Yeah, but it was really last day of camp vibes. I also think that on the whole, aside from Kyle and Amanda, like everyone really bonded this summer and like really had a good time, had a lot of fun. They were very like enmeshed in each other. And I don't know, I'm trying to like not be judgmental that they were crying.

00:16:50

No, me neither. It's just they never do. I don't care that they were crying.

00:16:52

No, I'm just I'm like, but you're just going back to the city where you could see person the next day. Like, what do you— what are we so sad about?

00:16:58

I think that they had a really good summer, and I think in seasons past they've sort of looked at this as like a job, and they don't really like hang out as a group a lot. They don't go out a lot. This year, Sierra was saying like, I went out so much this summer. Yeah, it was more of like a camp. And you know, when you leave camp, you cry.

00:17:13

You camp— you do cry when you leave camp. But also your friends are going like all across the country, right? It won't be— you know, you have to go back to school, but these people, they could rent the house next weekend if they wanted to.

00:17:23

It was weird. So it did feel like foreshadowing some something. Yeah, it was like spooky.

00:17:29

It did.

00:17:29

A lot of people—

00:17:30

and even Kyle— I mean, I think they used this specific audio because it's— it was sort of like how Lala was foreshadowing the end of Pump Rules, like how the group will like never be the same. And like, yeah, they— I don't know when Kyle spoke those words, but they put it at a very apt time because it really foreshadowed the fact that things will never be the same.

00:17:47

Oh, Sierra and Wes like hooked up, like they made out the last night, which obviously makes this whole Amanda thing— like we've been sort of waiting, like did they ever rekindle? And I don't know what happens after the summer, but I do believe they like went on a date or two because Dumois spotted them out.

00:17:59

Well, like of course, because so here we are now, they leave the Hamptons, they just had like this makey-outy night, they like each other, they're back to being friends. Like they're gonna like text that day, the next day they're gonna see each other in the city. Like I need to know, and we'll find out. What happened next, because something more happened, whether it was another breakup or they tried to give it another go. Like, more has happened. You don't just like have that sort of night with your best friend, right? You love—

00:18:24

and it was hard to watch that scene of them kissing. Like, it was just painful. There was a really bothersome scene where like West, I think he thought he was being like really open and vulnerable with Ben when they were at like that snow party, and they're laying there and he's talking about how like he's, you know, so glad that he's back on good terms with Sierra and he like doesn't really want to rekindle things, just was like you know, like last time his mistake was that he didn't tell her that he couldn't do a serious relationship. And it's like, do you have a disability that you can't do a serious relationship? You're talking about it like you physically cannot do it when it's like, this is a girl— you literally said in one breath, I'm so attracted to her, we have like the most amazing chemistry, she's my person, she's literally my best friend, but you know, I have this disability. What do you mean? Like, why?

00:19:00

I know, I wish Ben—

00:19:01

I think that was him thinking he was like being evolved, like owning that. But like, wait, why?

00:19:06

No, I wish Ben had said like, why not? Is there something being serious barring you from physically being able to do it?

00:19:13

Like, he just kept saying that, being like— and we're supposed to think he's like mature for understanding that, but like, what are you talking about? This is the girl you're sexually attracted to, you're emotionally attracted to, you're literally in love with her, you guys tell each other that you love each other, you like make out all the— what are you talking about?

00:19:25

No, I don't understand people who are so like allergic to monogamous serious relationships, because— and I'm sure one day when he enters one, maybe it's not with Amanda because they're having a terrible time But I think one day when he enters one, like, he will realize it's actually amazing. It's way more fun than watch parties and hooking up with fans. Yeah. Like, it's great.

00:19:45

But is that why? Like, cuz he wants to hook up with fans? Look at Kyle Cook, a 43-year-old who hooks up with— does anybody look at Kyle Cook's life and think, yeah, that's where I wanna be at 43?

00:19:55

I don't know. No. But what's so crazy is like, West is Kyle 15 years prior. Yeah, this staying out late, the refusal to get serious, like, and it's so crazy that like Amanda is going for the exact sort of guy, but that young Kyle is going for the same girl. Yeah, young Kyle went for when it doesn't work out for old Kyle.

00:20:17

The thing, the difference between old Kyle and current West is West is worse because Kyle like was always very clear about who he was, like That's why I kind of like— I do blame Amanda. Like, we knew, you knew, Kyle has not changed. He is who he is. Wes is this truly awful guy under the guise of like woke. Like, he's like, I love women and we need to respect and boundaries. He uses like therapy talk while quite literally being the worst human being alive. Kyle was very upfront about— he has not changed one bit. Like, you can say all you want about him, but he's consistent.

00:20:54

But he's just like the same guy, different generation.

00:20:56

They just have a different generation.

00:20:57

They just have different words that they use for different.

00:20:59

Like, no, but Kyle was never trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes about who he was, like, for real, I guess.

00:21:03

But what I also don't understand is, in, in this city, like, they're in therapy, their relationship is done. It seems like Kyle does not want to get divorced. You know, watch What Happens Live, like, he's talking about Amanda like, like he would take her back.

00:21:14

I just want to say, loves her, how he's treating her post-West Mandeville, like, I never thought I'd say this, but like, it kind of points to him being a good guy, because he could so go after Amanda, be the hero that— but like he— I don't know if you saw, like, she was at the In the City premiere, and like, obviously everyone— like, she's like radioactive, nobody wants to be near. And he's grabbing her, like, taking all the pictures. He made her come. He keeps talking to press, being like he's really worried about— even when she walked into his apartment, he was like, you're so skinny. Like, I don't know, it's giving good guy.

00:21:41

Also giving there was so much hatred in their marriage, and it wasn't coming from him. Like, he does not hate her. No, he loves her.

00:21:48

I know, it's really sad.

00:21:49

She hated him. Oh, so here's what I'm saying. Like, what I don't understand— so they're in therapy. Therapy. They're not living together. He wants to stay married. Truly, he loves her, and she just like can't deal with, amongst other things, the partying, the going out, the staying out late. So the night before therapy, he has a DJ gig, which I forgive him for being a DJ personally, because once I— now I understand financials, and I want to talk about them. He needs to be a DJ. That is where, right, where he's actually making money that he can like use to live his life or funnel into the business. No, but like, I think like the Summer House money goes to like— he needs like No, he needs money. He needs money. So he's a DJ. Fine, forgiven. He's DJing till 2 AM. Then she said he stayed out for another 2 hours and didn't come home till 4 AM. When you have like therapy the next day and you're trying to work on your marriage, and like, that's the exact thing she wants you to stop doing. I, I don't— I would ask him, like a toddler, I— why did you do that?

00:22:37

Why can you not stop doing the thing that she wants you to stop doing, but you want to be married so bad?

00:22:41

Why can't you stop being out past 2 AM?

00:22:44

You're like 45.

00:22:46

I just don't understand it.

00:22:47

Yeah, it's like, Wes, like, do you have some sort of disability that stops you from going home before 2 AM?

00:22:51

What is it?

00:22:52

I don't know.

00:22:53

Like that, I really— I can't understand him. If I'm Amanda, I'm like, well, there's no working on this if you're going to be out till 4 AM. Yeah.

00:23:00

And also, I think that like Amanda's pretty much made up her mind, but she doesn't want to say it yet. And so she's going through the motions— therapy, taking some time apart, me moving out. Um, and I think that's making it worse because I think it gives Kyle hope.

00:23:11

Yeah.

00:23:11

And then not only does she— I don't think that her and Wes cross timelines, I really don't, but it looks like she moved on so quickly. But she's been checked out. I feel like she decided at the end of summer and they don't really technically divorce till November. January, I think that they separated for— yeah, right, the statement was January. So it's a lot of months of like her being, you know, kind of on the road to recovery and he's still in it.

00:23:35

Yeah.

00:23:35

So her, like, her decision paralysis is, I think, making it worse.

00:23:39

Yeah. But I think sometimes, like, you have to like slide into a decision. You can't just like flip a switch, otherwise it's too startling. So yeah, I understand why for her, but like for him it's— he's been in denial the whole time.

00:23:51

The reunion trailer like is giving Scandal. Um, everyone's obviously coming mostly for Wes just because like he's really left Amanda to hang out. Like he doesn't say one word in the trailer. Yeah, he didn't say one word in the leaked audio.

00:24:01

He's like not speaking about the grandma.

00:24:04

I feel like everyone's moved on from the grandmother. I personally haven't. And yes, it's a huge factor here, although I will say like— and I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, but like I really seeing Amanda not only at the In the City premiere but also showing up at Kyle's apartment like weighing 3 pounds. Like, I do feel bad for her. And like, it's like, I feel like she's been punished. Like, yeah, she's been punished. And like, it's okay.

00:24:28

Yeah, I think the reunion will sort of like be the last thing. Watching— I mean, the film. So now watching it, and then we can like start figuring out where we go from here. What does next summer look like? How did the fans feel? But like, we have to— I need to hear what she has to say, how she can remotely justify this. When the person she was this summer to Sierra, like, ride or die, would do anything for her, would kill West if she needed to— how that person then becomes the one sitting on that couch like, mad that you're mad at me that I'm dating the guy that you liked all summer, that you cried over with me.

00:24:58

I— it's—

00:24:58

it's— I need to see the reunion because right now it seems like she's had a brain injury, lobotomy.

00:25:05

Yeah, the viral moment from the trailer that everyone's talking about, and I think everyone's like, yes, Sierra is like Sierra's talking to Wes and Amanda being like, Amanda, you think he loves you? Like, he's literally only with you to spite me.

00:25:17

Yeah, she said, over the past 6 years I've been your fucking champion. I couldn't fathom that I'd be sitting here pissed that you're fucking my ex. He wants to embarrass me. He wants to get his last little word, and I hope it works because he's with you to spite me.

00:25:30

And I do feel like that really points to just like a genuine misunderstanding on Sierra's part, like, of this whole Wes saga. I feel like her issue with Wes is that like he never considers her. He never— fact, it's very big and Carrie-coded, like We're so clearly endgame and you don't even consider me. You don't even think about me. So to say that like he had this elaborate relationship to get back at Sierra, like, if only he cared that much. That's like our issue with him. So that's not it at all. It's just him being honestly a thoughtless little pig.

00:25:57

Yeah. However, if what she's saying— like, I need to see what happened.

00:26:00

What's the context?

00:26:01

Like, what happened after this summer? Is he mad at her? Did he want to date her and she said no and now he's trying to spite her? Like, what happened? And I'm looking—

00:26:08

why is she saying that?

00:26:09

As to why she would say that, because based on what I've seen so far It couldn't be further from the truth.

00:26:13

I wish he like was that thoughtful and elaborate to hurt her. Like, that means you care about her. And the whole thing is like, he really doesn't, because if he did, he never would have fucked up with her that night. Yeah, you can't. She's so clearly in love with him. It's like, literally you could see it in the air, like, so palpable. Yeah.

00:26:30

And it just means something so— he's ha— he's happy.

00:26:32

It means something so different to them. It's so sad. Yeah, it was very hard to watch. And then in the city, like, I'm sorry, I was bored, but only because like it's new people and you know me, I'm like so stubborn. Yeah, I'm sure it's gonna show and I will watch it, but like seriously, just give me Lindsay. Like, I don't care about anyone else.

00:26:47

Um, I know, but you have to like put in the work to like come to be loved, you know, new Lindsay.

00:26:51

And I literally like had one of my birthday parties at the Garrett. Like, in another life I would have ended up on the show.

00:26:55

Totally.

00:26:56

Yeah.

00:26:57

Also, that couple where she like left for a few days and he didn't notice— Yvonne, that was weird.

00:27:03

That was weird.

00:27:05

They're giving weird.

00:27:06

Yeah. And those— that's actually what we need. Like, that's the type of shit I like to watch. But I was so sort of like blown away by Whitney and Kenny. Like, I couldn't get over them. I think that they're such a bad couple, like, pairing-wise. Um, somebody said it's giving Jackson Britney, like, you know, sweet girl moves out to the big city for you and you're like, we're just taking it day by day.

00:27:26

I just want to say Whitney has been an influencer for like almost 10 years now. She knows what she's doing, I think.

00:27:32

Oh, I didn't get the vibe from her personality that she's like real, like, killer, you know?

00:27:36

I don't think she's killer, but I don't think she's like so naive leave. Like, I think that maybe she moved to the city to be on the show with him.

00:27:43

Yes. Like, which is also giving Brittany Cartwright. It's a good comparison somebody made on Twitter.

00:27:48

I think Whitney's been living in LA. Like, she said she was a Midwest girl. She's from there, but I think she's been living in LA since The Bachelor.

00:27:55

How do they even meet?

00:27:57

I don't know.

00:27:57

I just got such bad vibes from her.

00:27:59

No, I think I'm— it's not Brittany Cartwright, who literally came like fresh off, fresh off the farm.

00:28:04

Yeah, right.

00:28:06

Into Hollywood.

00:28:07

I thought it was a good comparison.

00:28:08

Sister's a really big influencer, right? Did I make that up?

00:28:12

I think her sister is an influencer, like in the same way that she is.

00:28:15

Or is there an influencer who has the same last name as her?

00:28:17

No, no, I think that—

00:28:18

what's the name of the sister? Uh, Jacqueline Franzway.

00:28:23

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:28:24

Is that her sister?

00:28:25

I think so. I think she lives in Florida.

00:28:28

Jacqueline.

00:28:30

Oh, of course Instagram doesn't let you actually like see people's handles when Just, they'll give you an AI-generated description of them and where they went to school. She's 2.2 boom. Oh, on TikTok.

00:28:41

She's 270 on Instagram. Anyway, so like she's of this world is all I wanna say.

00:28:46

Oh yeah.

00:28:46

She's not like, you know, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed.

00:28:49

I don't know. It's giving bright-eyed, but like her walking through and like talking to her dog while her dog makes a poop, like it's giving bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

00:28:55

I think she also just has like a really bubbly and lovely personality.

00:28:58

I think she has like a soft voice. I mean, we'll see how it plays out and like how he treats her.

00:29:02

And like, could he call her a doll one more time? I don't know why that was really giving me the ick.

00:29:06

No, and like even he was like saying, describing her to Kyle when—

00:29:11

and comparing her to Amanda. That really bothered me.

00:29:13

Yeah, I don't know, he gives me really bad vibes.

00:29:15

Yeah, he does.

00:29:16

I, I did not like—

00:29:17

he does. Um, but maybe it's promising. Maybe she's using him, by the way.

00:29:22

I think that's entirely possible, which I'm also down for.

00:29:24

Yeah.

00:29:25

Um, so The show is promising. I just have like high expectations because like I watched it after the Summer House finale and it's like—

00:29:32

and now I'm watching like these randos in a bar.

00:29:34

Like I'm, you know, young. Yeah, a little bit. I'll obviously keep watching a little bit just because of Wes Vanderwaal. Yeah.

00:29:43

So Summer House reunion next week, like can't wait, seriously can't come.

00:29:47

But like literally having a watch party. Wes, I hope you come.

00:29:50

He would love it.

00:29:51

Yeah. I'll send him an invite.

00:29:52

Are you ready for our next story?

00:29:54

Mhm.

00:29:55

In no particular order, I would say that was like the main—

00:29:59

yeah, no, that's like 4 stories in one.

00:30:00

Yeah. Um, Harry Styles' tour stage setup is being reviewed after fans have trashed the viewing experience.

00:30:06

I was wondering if like any of the feedback had gotten back to him.

00:30:09

Well, so this is like not about anything that we've all said, but just like, I guess he like tried to like re— like reinvent the wheel.

00:30:17

It's the biggest thing I've ever seen, his stage. Like, he doesn't need to be doing all that.

00:30:22

Yeah, so, um, he's—

00:30:23

it's bigger, it looks bigger, or around the same size as the Eras Tour.

00:30:26

He's reviewing parts of the stage setup for his tour after some fans complained about restricted views from certain sections in the stadium. So rep for the tour told TMZ, he did this— like, this floor concept was designed to give fans freedom of movement and the ability to experience the show from different positions rather than being confined to one fixed viewing angle. That open, free-flowing floor experience has always been an essential part of Harry's live show.

00:30:48

Yes, like they all do the dance, like, and they do a mosh in the circle.

00:30:51

A small area of the staging in specific floor positions appears to have had restricted sightline. Those areas are being reviewed carefully and adjusted where possible in compliance with all safety restrictions.

00:31:00

Yeah, no, of course, even though like restricted view is just a part of tour life, like it happens, and a lot of times if you go to the box office they'll like move you around. I just feel like that's not what we're talking about.

00:31:11

It's not what we're talking about. Also, I guess I guess it's like there's a reason that things are the way they are in terms of like layout. Layout. This is a stadium, like, right? We have to consider speakers and fire exits and like reinventing the wheel here maybe was not necessary.

00:31:24

Yeah, I just feel like of all the things that people were different than like GA on the floor. I don't know, he's talking a lot of words about just people standing around, like, which sounds like GA, which GA is like the pit, commonplace pit.

00:31:36

Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna be in the That's very commonplace.

00:31:40

So, um, I do wonder if like any of the feedback— like when you're an artist at that level, so I guess it's just like person dependent. Like do you want to know the feedback after opening night and like you adjust, or you're just like, they don't understand me?

00:31:51

Well, I would say if I were him, like I would go by how it feels on the stage. Like does it feel like everyone's having a great time and the vibes are high? Because that's what matters. How the people— what people are saying online about a little clip that they saw I wouldn't let get to me because I know what we experienced all there together. So I wonder what the energy is like in the stadium. That's what I'd go off of.

00:32:12

Yeah, I watched like— I'm obviously on like Harry talk now. I watched this like insanely long video of a girl who was there being like, her criticisms, you know, like the setlist. Like, I was like, why am I here? Um, so good luck.

00:32:26

What was her criticism?

00:32:27

The setlist, the movements.

00:32:29

What setlist? He has two albums.

00:32:31

Like, yeah, I don't know, but that was like real niche fan stuff. Like, yeah, I could have nitpicked Taylor's, but that make the Air Restore bad. She was like, it just like wasn't my personal vibe. I think that like the stage was really, really big and he's like running around huffing and puffing. And like even the graphics, I think they were even complaining that like the images, like the graphics were like really, um, and yeah, I saw like an unfortunate clip of his graphics where he had like, he's obviously a runner, he had like taken videos of his feet running. Like that's really crazy.

00:32:58

Yeah, yeah. Okay, so the graphics Yes. Yeah, I guess it's like hard when people pick apart your— like, I know, but work so hard on— like, sorry, they do it to Katy Perry all the time.

00:33:08

They do it to all female artists. So like, I am bringing the same energy to— and because people are like, you're being really hard on Harry. I'm like, no, I'm actually being turdy. Like, if I was saying it about Katy Perry, like, you guys wouldn't have cared.

00:33:17

Like, remember all those clips of Unfortunate?

00:33:19

I'm sorry, she was doing a lot. Like, her voice, her vocals were on point. Sorry, one thing about me, like, if your vocals aren't on point when I come to see you sing, or if you're doing the whole like passing the microphone to the crowd during the best part of the song, um, like, that's one of my biggest criticisms. So like, I saw a lot of videos of him like not hitting his own notes, and that's just totally unacceptable to me, honestly. Um, so the same level of critique we all gave the Eras Tour and like literally every female tour is the same energy we're bringing for Harry Styles. Sorry you don't like it, but if a woman ever put together like such a shit show— honestly, Katy Perry is a great example.

00:33:45

I don't feel like Eras Tour got this level of critique. The difference is there's always going to be haters, she raised the bar, trolls online, whatever. Her own fans, when they went, nobody was like—

00:33:53

because by the way, because there was nothing to criticize.

00:33:55

But like, what's this? Is like the people there are complaining. It's not just haters online.

00:34:00

No, no, it's like people left the experience being like, I mean, it was good, but like, yeah, Yeah, that's like—

00:34:04

anyone who went to the Eras Tour did not come away with something negative to say.

00:34:07

Especially— he's just sort of shot himself in the foot because the pricing was so— it was like, I remember people talking about it before the tour even started. So that was the same thing with the Eras Tour. Like, she did all that because people were literally like, uh, selling their cars to go, and you have to give people a show. And so the expectations were high because of the pricing, and I just feel like maybe, you know, the show fell flat a little bit. Okay, well, we'll see what happened tonight. It's also only the first show, so it obviously gets better.

00:34:32

But yeah, yeah. Our next story is some very exciting news. Love Island USA star Jaylen Brown is married.

00:34:40

What?

00:34:41

Jaylen Brown, will you remember him as the—

00:34:43

of course, he was there for one night. He was there from one night, the truck driver who was in love with Elandria. And think if we were doing like Joelandria right now instead of Nickelandria.

00:34:52

I know, but he's married. So who? To his girlfriend.

00:34:56

I'm sick.

00:34:57

Yeah, he—

00:34:58

that's like actually really quick turnaround—

00:34:59

had a courthouse wedding ceremony on May 15th. I mean, he means business. He's such a serious guy.

00:35:04

Remember, like, all those brands, like, because he had said this is his first time leaving the country and he got sent home on the first night because of fucking Alondra. I'm so mad at her for that. He loved her so much and he said it was his first time out of the country and then all these brands were like, well, it won't be your last. And like Hilton, American Express, everybody—

00:35:19

he got a million followers. Yeah, he got a million for one day.

00:35:22

He was the first cast member on like the show to reach a million followers on TikTok, which When he was on, we watched Love Island for one night because he came on.

00:35:31

He said, I'm here for—

00:35:32

like, he came on in leather underwear, remember? He came on during that with Pepe. With Pepe. So wait, who did he marry?

00:35:40

Uh, picture. Yeah, wait, here, there's a clip. Her name is Joya. Uh, this is what he posted on his—

00:35:46

seriously, so happy for them.

00:35:47

The Browns, 5/15/26.

00:35:51

Oh my God, them doing courthouse, like, I feel sick. She's the luckiest girl in the world. Like, and that could have been Olandria.

00:35:56

Yeah, I know. And what's so crazy is like, he is who he said he was.

00:36:01

Absolutely true. Look at him. And not a year later, he was really looking for love.

00:36:05

Yeah. And that it could have been Alandria.

00:36:08

And like, I wonder if like for one second she regrets that decision. No, cuz like she's the most famous girl in the world and like a part of power couple.

00:36:13

But like, but imagine what sort of couple they'd be like. We would've loved them. They would've won the show because they were both so beloved.

00:36:18

Right. Nick brings her down. Jaylen would bring her up.

00:36:21

Yeah. And she would have love instead of being like single and trapped in Nicolandia, trapped in Nicolandria land. Like, Totally.

00:36:29

Yeah, she would have actual love, like, with a man who would worship her. Yeah, like, I don't know how you just can't even give someone a chance who literally comes on the show for you. And she didn't—

00:36:36

how you can't—

00:36:36

and by the way, she was— she didn't even, like, choose Nick over him. She chose Taylor. And then Taylor, you know, very famously, I pick Clark, picked Clark. Do you know they're still together? I know. No, and like, they got so much hate. He got so much hate for picking Clark. And I just want to say, they're the real deal.

00:36:54

They are.

00:36:54

I see them on TikTok all the time. They're, like, so in love.

00:36:56

But also, when we poke holes in Nicolandria, like, we often cite like their, you know, combined lack of interest in each other. Nick literally had a girlfriend.

00:37:04

Alandra being obsessed. We never talk about Alandra being obsessed with Taylor because Taylor and Clark are so OTP, like we forget about it.

00:37:10

She's hung up on Taylor. She— if she couldn't even give Jaylen the time of day, but now she's with Nick.

00:37:15

Yeah, the crazy thing was that like she wouldn't give Jaylen the time of day because of Taylor. Yeah, who like had no rizz and like very clearly didn't even like her. Yeah, I pick Clark. Abby Clark.

00:37:28

And that's that.

00:37:30

Abby Clark.

00:37:31

Well, I'm so happy for Jaylen.

00:37:33

Me too.

00:37:34

Like, great end to the story.

00:37:35

Love always wins.

00:37:37

No, and it's like, it's nice to see someone go on reality television, like, their life isn't ruined. No, not only that, just like an added benefit, and then they carry on regular scheduled program.

00:37:45

It's also nice to see somebody go on reality TV, like, saying that they want love and then actually, like, making moves in their life that prove that they did in fact want love. That never happens.

00:37:52

No, it's nice to see someone going on reality TV and like being who they said that they were on reality TV.

00:37:58

I knew it, like he was so pure.

00:37:59

Yeah, we chose the right one. Okay, what million on TikTok?

00:38:03

Which brand is like sending them on a honeymoon?

00:38:05

I don't know, but can you check his TikTok and see if he's like activating?

00:38:08

And you mean like posting content?

00:38:10

Posting content and like getting sponsorships?

00:38:15

Jaylen Brown, Love Island. Okay. Yeah, Elite.Brown, 1.5 million followers. Oh wait, he posted, got married to my favorite person in elite shape. Oh, I guess he had went on, um, Jennifer Hudson. So he posts like once a week and it's all like fitness stuff.

00:38:35

I just want to say, like, when did he meet his girlfriend?

00:38:38

Oh, are you going to accuse him of like shady timeline?

00:38:41

Like, if they met like before I left—

00:38:44

so 4/18, January, February, March, March 18th, he has a TikTok with her. So they've been together since at least March. Another TikTok on March 2nd.

00:38:52

Okay, night before Love Island, like he went on.

00:38:54

Maybe she's just a girl from his hometown. They met on a cruise. Oh my God, maybe one of his sponsored cruises.

00:39:01

They met on a Royal Caribbean cruise in 2025. I'm sorry I ever even entertained the idea that you did doubt them. I just wanted to like cross all— oh wait, my T's.

00:39:10

This is how me and Joya got this thing started, at Royal Caribbean. This is my version, this is my side of the story on how me and Joya met. So of course we met in 2025, um, in the summertime. I love his accent. By Royal Caribbean cruise, um, Stars of the Sea. Shout out to Royal Caribbean. Um, one of these Royal Caribbean trips has to do their honeymoon. Uh, so I got invited out, it was like a content influencer type deal. I love him so much.

00:39:40

So it was right after Love Island, one of his sponsored trips, because remember, a bunch of brands were reaching out to him to let him see the world, and he met her there. So it couldn't be more pure and beautiful.

00:39:51

It's beautiful. Like, it's just— he hadn't got on Love Island, he wouldn't have met her yet because of his sponsored gig. It's not a girl from home, like, it's someone he only could have met because of the platform. So we all did that.

00:40:01

Like, this is the greatest news I've ever—

00:40:03

I know, I miss the days where we were all like talking about Jaylen. We—

00:40:06

by the way, Love Island premieres on June 2nd, which is like in 2 weeks. June 2nd, less than 2 weeks.

00:40:12

My content plate is already so fucked up.

00:40:13

No, and like, we're in such a sleep regression. Like, I don't know how I'm going to watch an episode that's an hour long every night.

00:40:18

I don't know how I'm going to watch Love Island when I'm not on maternity leave. Like, I used to wait the whole day for the episode. Like, there was so— like, I, I could have done 5 episodes a day. I don't know how I'm going to fit this into my— try being an influencer for a day. Try it.

00:40:30

No, but I feel like you'll get into a good groove of just watching it every night.

00:40:33

Yeah, but then it's like, what about my other shows? Rhode Island Housewives, Summer House in the City.

00:40:37

This is over, like, oh, I guess it will be over.

00:40:40

And like, hopefully finish setting up iPad. Fuck off, this iPad is like seriously the bane of my existence.

00:40:46

June 2nd is—

00:40:48

I want to say it's like a Tuesday and 2 weeks away. That's just the way you make me feel. Yeah, that's just the way you make me feel.

00:40:57

Ariana for Love Island, check it, she's hosting again.

00:41:00

Okay, that's good.

Modern diets and busy lifestyles make it really, really hard to get enough consistently, and that's why Momentous has launched Fiber Plus, which is a triple-action formula combining soluble and insoluble fiber with prebiotic resistant starch to support gut health and digestion, to help your body absorb nutrients better, stabilize blood sugar, and improve recovery.

00:43:02

If you're on a GLP-1 journey or if you're starting a GLP-1 journey, shout out to Dr. Giese, who told me like the most important thing is fiber. So whether you can get that in food or through a supplement to do it, and Momentous is such a great like trusted supplement brand, and get on their fiber even if you're not on GLP-1. Obviously, like you got to keep things moving in your body. Fiber is always good to have. But really, if you're on GLP-1, Trust me, biggest tip: drink a ton of water and have your fiber. Most fiber products are not evolved, single source, and full of gut-disrupting additives, but Momentous took a totally different approach with the Fiber Plus, and they combined 3 types of fiber, helping close a major gap in modern nutrition. So if your gut is functioning better, everything else you're doing— your diet, your workouts, your recovery— just becomes more effective. And we choose Momentous because they hold a higher standard. Our promo code is toast for up to 35% off. Promo code toast. Today's episode is also brought to you by Branch Basics. So Branch Basics is a company that makes cleaning product, um, in a really great way. So not only I think it's like super affordable and like organized cuz they have a concentrate and you mix up the concentrate, makes the refilling really easy. You can use it on all your surfaces, but it's also a really clean brand. So I think a lot of us when we get pets or have babies become really conscious of like the crazy chemicals we're bringing into our house, especially in cleaning products. And Branch Basics is just a great clean alternative. So the counters where you prep your food, the laundry detergent that soaks into your clothes, the floors that your kids and your pets crawl on— with spring seasoning being here, it's worth asking a simple question: do you actually know what you're cleaning your home with? So a lot of conventional products look clean, smell clean, even say natural, but a lot of them still contain, um, ingredients that are linked to hormone disruption, skin irritation, respiratory issues.

00:44:43

Well, Branch Basics is changing that entirely. It's a female-founded brand redefining transparency and eliminating toxins from home. Homes, starting with the products that we use the most— cleaning products. So their Premium Starter Kit comes with one powerful concentrate that makes everything from laundry detergent, bathroom cleaner, glass cleaner, even pet wash and vegetable rinse. So it's one formula, there's no mystery ingredients, no unnecessary fillers. Spring cleaning is not just about decluttering, it's about upgrading what you allow into your home. And once you see what's inside those conventional cleaners, there's really no going back. So it's made from plant and mineral-based ingredients, it's human safe and fragrance free. It makes it perfect for families, especially those with babies and kids and pets. Branch Basics was founded by 3 women. They each have a transformative personal experience that inspired their mission to create human-safe cleaning products. And the good news is that Branch Basics is now available everywhere you shop— Target, target.com, Amazon, and of course branchbasics.com. Tossing the toxins has never been more convenient. And for anyone grabbing the premium starter kit, you can still get 15% off at branchbasics.com with code TOAST. Just use code TOAST for 15% off premium starter kit at branchbasics.com. After you purchase, when they ask you where you heard about it, it, make sure to let them know that it was the Turst.

00:45:45

Thank you, the Turst.

00:45:47

You're welcome.

00:45:48

Our fourth story: The Housemaid franchise is expanding with a stage show after the hit movie. From the page to the stage— well, from the page to the screen to the stage. Lionsgate is turning The Housemaid into a play. The psychological thriller based on the Frida Rita is being developed for the stage by the producers Melting Pot, a British company. Congratulations to them.

00:46:14

I mean, if you know the premise of the book, like, it actually does sound like a good play. Is it a musical? Like, I can't watch plays that aren't musicals, so unfortunately—

00:46:21

When they say play, it's giving not a musical.

00:46:23

And I can't see, like, the housemaid singing.

00:46:26

Actually, I can.

00:46:27

I just want to say it would make an amazing musical. I'm personally just not interested in live productions that don't have music, but that's just me. And I know that I saw one— I took a theater class in college, and like, one of the assignments was to go see a play that wasn't a musical. So of course, you know me, I had to see like, you know, the, the hit show on Broadway that year. Rachel Weisz was in it. So fucking dreadful. And actually got yelled at for eating my popcorn too loud. Like, just awful.

00:46:51

Like, really, 2 days in a row of bringing up Rachel Weisz.

00:46:54

I know, when it rains it pours.

00:46:55

It rains, it pours.

00:46:58

So also to say, while I would love to support my local theater, um, if there's not gonna be songs, like, get Pasek and Paul in there.

00:47:05

Yeah, they need set it to music, be a musical, have it be amazing, and then make a movie musical.

00:47:10

Oh, I love it.

00:47:11

The Housemaid Movie Musical. Yeah, I'm gonna say—

00:47:13

Freaky Housemaid the Movie the Screen the Musical.

00:47:15

I'm gonna say Freaky be in it because she sings. Yeah, I don't think Sydney Sweeney sings.

00:47:19

I don't think she does either. And it's a great opportunity, honestly, like a Renée rap. Yeah, like a young Anjelou.

00:47:24

Yeah, I love that.

00:47:26

She's got Broadway history.

00:47:26

She's like, keep running it through the rinse cycle. Yeah, right.

00:47:29

Nobody can create anything original anymore, so like, sure. Make a play. What the hell?

00:47:33

We need Legally Blonde: The Musical, the movie.

00:47:36

I actually don't know that we do. Like, Legally Blonde: The Movie is perfect. But like, I know everyone loves it.

00:47:40

Legally Blonde. Oh my God. Oh my God, you guys.

00:47:45

Yeah. I, I happen to like not like that soundtrack. I know, I know. And I saw the play. I was like, this is dumb. Give me, I don't even know if I saw the play. Even though of course if they did Legally Blonde: The Musical, the movie, we could have Ava Phillippe play a young Elle. Elle. I wonder why she didn't cast Ava as Elle.

00:48:02

But does Ava sing? She would be more likely to play the Prime Video series. I feel like Ava, you know, wants to do her own thing. She really wants to make a name for herself, doesn't want to be in her parents' shadow. Big mistake.

00:48:12

Couldn't be me. Good luck with that.

00:48:15

Um, are you ready for the final? Some business news.

00:48:21

Chilling. I like the way you said that.

00:48:22

Yeah, because this is a chilling story. The Mango fashion tycoon family has been embroiled in a bitter dispute. Have you seen this story?

00:48:30

No, I only recently started shopping at Mango. It's kind of party.

00:48:33

Okay, so the founder and CEO of Mango fell off of a cliff.

00:48:37

Oh my God, a couple years ago.

00:48:41

Died? And died, yes. And so his—

00:48:42

so obviously he was shoved.

00:48:44

So his son like took over the business. He has a couple children. The son that he works with the closest became like the CEO. But now it's coming out that the son and the father were embroiled in a bitter business dispute at the time of the father's death when he plummeted off of a cliff after going on a hike with his son, who— his son suggested that they go on a hike.

00:49:02

Did nobody think anything of it at the time?

00:49:04

Like, I guess no, they didn't. It was just ruled as an accident because, like, billionaires don't just fall off of cliffs, I just want to say.

00:49:11

But not to tell you guys how to do your job.

00:49:13

So the son, Jonathan Andic, appeared in court in Barcelona. Andic, A-N-D-I-C. Tough name. I don't know how to pronounce it.

00:49:20

Andy, maybe the C is silent.

00:49:22

Yeah, he appeared in court in Barcelona on Tuesday after he was named a suspect in the death of his father Isaac, founder of fashion group Mango.

00:49:29

What was, what were they embroiled in? Like what was the issue?

00:49:32

Um, so Jonathan like took over at the company while the father was still alive and he brought in an outsider to be the company's chief financial officer. And so that like started a falling out between the two. I guess like the dad didn't like how the son was running the company. Mm-hmm. Instead, over the next 3 years, the company lost around $116 million forcing the father to come out of retirement. And returned to the company as non-executive chairman.

00:49:56

I, I think that that's fair.

00:49:58

One of his moves was to remove his son as CEO in 2020.

00:50:01

In 2024, it's giving Succession, like your kids are, um, morons who can't do your job, but like you think that they deserve it, and they think that they deserve it.

00:50:09

So in 2024, the father died after plunging down a 320-foot ravine in the mountains of Catalonia during a hike with Jonathan. At the time of his death, he was worth $4.5 billion. A report from the judge in the case said that the dad was trying to change his will to create a charitable foundation at the time his death, and Jonathan, the son, had allegedly proposed the hike together.

00:50:30

Yeah, me when I want to kill someone, let's go on a hike. Yeah, that's thrilling.

00:50:34

What I want to know is like, why now are they opening it back up? Like, what clue?

00:50:37

It sounds like they just found out that there was like an issue between the dad and the son.

00:50:40

But like, how did they find that out? And why?

00:50:41

Maybe some emails or something.

00:50:42

It was like, case closed.

00:50:44

This is like so TV show.

00:50:47

Yeah, it really is. Someone—

00:50:48

I didn't know things like this actually happened.

00:50:49

And then have you heard about the Hailey Bieber like involvement?

00:50:53

Oh, that they posted a picture of her like wearing a Mango bag or something and like made it seem like they were doing like a Hailey Mango— Hailey Mango? Yeah, Hailey Bieber x Mango collab. And so she posted on her Instagram story like, love the bag, but this is not like mine.

00:51:06

Yeah, so she like made it clear that like this wasn't a collaborative line, that she's like the face of Mango in this moment. And people think that maybe not only was she trying to like explain her role in the campaign, but maybe like distance herself from this, from the drama.

00:51:19

Um, I'm gonna opt to say that that's not the case because I actually hadn't even heard of this until this morning.

00:51:24

Oh really?

00:51:24

Yeah, the Mango drama.

00:51:25

I saw it.

00:51:26

I see what these people look like.

00:51:27

Yeah, sure. So this—

00:51:29

what else does Mango own?

00:51:30

This is the father.

00:51:31

Classic.

00:51:33

And then this is Jonathan.

00:51:35

I'll tell you if he's a killer. I could tell.

00:51:36

Here he is, like, in cuffs, looking like a killer.

00:51:38

Oh, okay.

00:51:39

It's gonna— you're definitely gonna be, like, persuaded. He looks like the sort of killer, like, who would just give a light shove to an old man.

00:51:46

Well, only, like, like from the back. He doesn't look like the type of person who's— because he looks like a coward. That's what I was gonna say. But I guess like shoving someone off a cliff from the back so they don't even see it coming, that's a definition of a coward.

00:51:57

Yeah.

00:51:57

Um, so yeah, if, if they can prove that he was pushed from the back, then he did it. From the front, he doesn't have what it takes.

00:52:04

They should be able to prove that. Like, they have like trajectories and—

00:52:07

right. Or just like, like a bruise or something.

00:52:09

Yeah. But also like the way that he fell, given his—

00:52:12

right, his weight. Oh God, please never push me off a cliff if my weight ever becomes—

00:52:16

and like the wind, right, of the day.

00:52:19

Right, um, the Santa Anas.

00:52:22

Yeah, because this is extremely sus.

00:52:24

Oh yeah, I mean, it's sus before. Billionaires just don't go flying off of cliffs, like they just don't. So even before we knew that they were— happen, it's so rare to billionaires. Yeah, like you have to be pretty smart to become a billionaire and you have to be pretty dumb to fall off a cliff. No kidding.

00:52:39

Oh, but he's like older, it could happen.

00:52:41

Yeah, I guess, but don't people like that like go on walks with like security?

00:52:45

I mean, you would hope so, but like, I don't know, I don't know. So we'll see. So it could be a little bit of patricide.

00:52:52

What's that?

00:52:53

The killing of the father.

00:52:55

Patricide? Is there matricide?

00:52:58

I believe so.

00:52:59

I've never heard of that word before. Like, suicide? Like, yeah, matricide, homicide, homicide, genocide, genocide, patricide, matricide.

00:53:13

Definitely, definitely.

00:53:14

What about like—

00:53:15

and then if you're gonna murder like both parents, like, like the Reiners?

00:53:19

Oh, um, what's that?

00:53:21

Like latricide? It also sounds like patricide because like parents, right?

00:53:25

Patricidal.

00:53:26

Matricide is the actual killing one's mother.

00:53:29

Jesus Christ, who's coming up with words for this? Double patricide. Double parricide is for both parents. Wow, chilling.

00:53:38

Vocab lesson of the day.

00:53:41

Well, that's our show. Thanks for the international business news. I appreciate that.

00:53:45

I do feel like this—

00:53:45

no, by the way, I love it.

00:53:47

Well, not that I love it in a documentary.

00:53:49

Now you know where you heard it first.

00:53:50

Like, you'll be like, oh yeah, and yeah, that's really crazy. I feel like we're gonna be hearing more of it.

00:53:55

Oh, I just want to like kind of address some of the rumors. Um, everybody thinks I'm pregnant. Oh yeah, because I said the other day, like, in all of my pregnancies when— oh my God, I can't flub a word, you guys. I'm not pregnant. Like, seriously, leave me alone. I'm just fat. Let me just tell you, if she were pregnant, would have cut that out. Oh right, that's the other thing.

00:54:12

You'd be on red alert for like any slip-ups.

00:54:14

Yeah, like obviously the fact that it's in there is only further proof that I ain't.

00:54:19

And I just want to say like I can't deal with like everyone always being on pregnancy watch.

00:54:23

It's so annoying.

00:54:24

Like women of a certain age who are married and want children, like yes, eventually they will hopefully be pregnant and you're not a genius for figuring it out.

00:54:33

You cracked the case wide open.

00:54:34

So like every other day, oh I'm a little bird, she's pregnant.

00:54:36

Yeah, right, like please.

00:54:37

I can't have a flood of the word she pregnant God, can I just fucking live? Like, seriously, stop. It doesn't make you cool to have figured it out, even if you figured something out, which you didn't. But I just want to take this moment because we're not pregnant. Because if I was pregnant, I wouldn't be able to say—

00:54:50

of course, of course. But speak your truth.

00:54:51

I just want to take this moment. Like, it doesn't make you cool or interesting to predict that the married woman who wants children is—

00:54:56

who already has. Yeah, okay, so can I just fucking live?

00:55:00

And we didn't even mention the fact that we're twins today.

00:55:02

Oh yeah, that's like a weird coincidence.

00:55:04

Complete twins. I actually thought for a thinking it was the same sweater.

00:55:06

I like yours.

00:55:07

Thank you. It's Renly.

00:55:08

Mine's Nudes.

00:55:10

I love yours. And yours is a set.

00:55:12

Yeah, mine is matching. Like, I can only wear things that have matching bottoms.

00:55:14

Like, I don't know, when you get like something from like Nudes or PR, I like it.

00:55:17

It's on, it's on the way. Yeah, right.

00:55:19

It's in my foyer. I can't wait to wear it tomorrow.
