Welcome back to The Toast, and happy Tuesday. That for me feels like a Monday, because boy, do I have a lot to do today. Tourdi went MIA yesterday. Apologies, something came up, but I'm here and I'm ready to discuss. I'm ready to show up for my people.

We are excited to have you. It was such a treat having Trout. Treats with Trout was yesterday.

That shouldn't like alternative title.

But we had to put Super Bowl in the title because it was the big day after the big game. And today's the second big day after the big game because we're going to get Super Bowl Turdy's version today.

Yeah. Sorry if it's repetitive, but I have a job to do. I think that people would still like to hear my thoughts on everything.

People are still talking about it. It's still in the news cycle.

But don't you feel like it has fated quicker than other Super Bowl? There actually were a couple of big things, like Bad Bunny and everything. But in terms of buzziness, I feel like everybody went home quickly.

I agree. The game, as I've come to learn, the Seahawks put up a very strong defense. Wherein not a lot of points could be scored. And when points aren't scored, it's not that exciting for a pea-brained viewer like myself who just wants to see touch downs. People catching. Yeah. And points and cheering. It was a good game in terms of football, but it wasn't the funnest game.

It wasn't the most entertaining by any stretch of the imagination. So today's episode has a lot. We've got Deer Toaster, of course, because it's a Tuesday, we never leave the DTQ hanging. We've got Turdy's Version, a celebrity Super Bowl recap, and we've got Jackson Claude, Just Being Themselves, which is such a beautiful thing to be able to be authentically represented in modern media.

Okay, so I saw something that I actually was like, I wrote it down because I wanted to talk about it on the show and not tell you in person. So we were talking a lot about the patriarchy last week. Okay. I saw this beautiful theory on the patriarchy that I feel like we need to discuss. Okay. Patriarchy is this Darwinistic evolutionary tactic by men. Men are clearly the subpar gender. The only way for them to ensure their survival is to instill these toxic systems like the patriarchy, because if we didn't live in this very toxic male dominated system, we would have found, we are smarter, we are responsible for birthing. We would have found a way to do it all without the men. And they are ensuring their own survival by installing these toxic systems.

Let me ask you something, and I'm not saying men are smarter than women or women are smarter than men. I think we both have our great qualities and we serve different purposes. But if men were so much dumber than women, how could they pull that over on us?

I don't think that there's so much dumber.

No, but if they're inferior to women, how could they pull that over on us?

Their brute strength. That is what they have on us. And back in the day- So not so inferior. Right. Back in medieval times, when they could use that brute strength, I think that their physical strength, which, yes, we all have our-strengths, so to speak. And so men, yes, they are stronger than women in a physical sense.

So they used their physical superiority to dominate us- Yes. Intellectually. Yes. Societally.

To keep us down.

Financially.

Absolutely.

I thought it was a really good take.

For me, I feel like the patriarchy had its moment and wasn't necessary meant to go out. Because up until modern advancements in menstrual health, first of all, pads, tampons. If you didn't have those things, how can you go out into the- And slay. How can you slay all day?

It's so true. When was the pad invented?

Well, people could have used cloth.

When was the sanitary napkin formally invented?

But no, I think they used cloth, reusable cloth. But I really think- 1918. The tampon opened up a lot of doors for a woman. Because if you're bleeding into a cloth all day, you don't feel like going and slaying.

No. And not only do you not feel like it. You are limited. You have a pass. Yeah, right.

And you have cramps. You're just not... So good man, go. But now we have my doll. We have the flow PMS. The flow PMS company said, I was advertising We have all of these things that allow us to be out of the house 20 to 31 days a month for better and for worse. It's true. I think it's really the advancements in women's health.

And that's why we should constantly be funding women's health research.

I just, not to be like Scott Galloway. I don't want, and not to make it serious when you were I'm not making it light-hearted, but it's like, men aren't so much dumber than women. We have different... I hate to be those man-hated women who are like, men are dumb.

They provide value as well. And I think we feel some type of way because as women, we've been put down. So we feel like you have to be like, well, you're ugly and stupid.

And that's not at all what I was saying at all. I was commending them for that slave and evolutionary tactic, keeping us down to keep themselves up.

Okay. So I just think we need all work together. We need to stop pitting man against woman.

And I've been saying that. Speaking of man against woman, do we have a story about Utah? Of course. Okay, so I won't talk about it. Of course. I watched so much Olympics this weekend.

If it wasn't for the Super Bowl, that's the number one story of the day.

There's so many There were so many sports going on this weekend.

Waste management, who cares? Waste management. Full swing. Who won?

I don't know, but that's where Travis was. So that was big news.

But then he was with the chain smokers at Waste Management?

Chainsmokers was- Definitely Super Bowl. He has a jet.

I thought I saw him on the sidelines of the Super Bowl.

On the sidelines?

I don't know.

I think I saw him in the beginning ceremony. Yeah. No, but the waste management was the day before.

It's like three days.

Yeah, so I think he was just doing it all.

I'm so excited to find out what happened at Waste Management next year on full swing.

Yeah. Too bad we have to wait.

And then, of course, the Olympics, which have just been bringing me so much joy, even though it's not the Summer Olympics, which are just so much better. They still have a lot of merit. I think a lot people don't even watch the Winter Olympics. I watch all. And yes, summer is better, but winter has a lot going on. I forget, of course, the Utah of it all. Figure skating, which is in such a joy. I love that couple.

I like that guy. Do you see his gold?

Of course, I know that guy.

And it's funny because he gets so... He's the quad God. The quad God, yeah.

His name is Iliam Milano.

Yeah. And I was watching his performance. He's obviously very talented. And then halfway through, I don't know why he just decides to put his whole Iliya Osi into it. And he just became insane. And he's throwing extra tricks, doing more swivels than they said that he was about to do. He just popped off and he won gold.

So what I'm learning watching the Olympics is, figure skating is just not this one size fits all. And I know figure skating from Ice Princess, of course, and triple Axel, and her using geometry.

Jumping shrimp.

Right. Her using geometry to figure out how to jump perfectly. Brilliant. But there's so many other elements. And it's like, most of the things that I'm watching are not even like triple Axel. It's like, ice dancing. There's freestyle. So Ilia is doing like, men's ice dancing, and it's like, crazy looking. Same with the Bates and Gates. Like last night, that couple who everybody loves, who's married, they did their ice dancing sing Routine to a Lenny Kravitz mix. Oh, my God, it was amazing. And they got so robbed in their score. And so like his tricks, like the quad God, he's not doing your typical ice princess like tricks.

Yeah, no, he's making up Ilia's own trick.

And I'm living for... It's crazy how differently I think of Johnny Weer and Tara Lepinsky in The Trader's mansion versus Milano Cortina. Milano Cortina. In Milano Cortina, they are slang... You see her TJ Maxx commercial? No. Tara did this fabulous commercial. I don't know. To me, they're so unimpressive in traders. I'm like, who are these people? I feel like I'm really learning about them as athletes, as people in their commentaries.

I think that was the point. They crushed.

They really did not do a good job of showing us who they are in traders. I'm putting in my own time and research in the cortina.

I don't think we were open. Even if they showed us, I would say, why are you showing us so much? Except for Tara, she's a cutie.

No, no, Jackie, I'm telling you, and their friendship is so real. Every time they talk I'm cracking up. I'm cracking up. I'm on traitors, I'm like, okay, they are best friends for life. It's so cute.

I saw such a funny tweet that was like, you think they're going to be able to figure out Rob's the traitor? They can't even figure out that the two figure skaters are best friends.

They've known each other for 100 years. It's so true.

They're like this very niche sport. They do broadcasting together and no one knows their best friend.

This is also day five of me asking Peacock to release the Colton files. Like, where is that video of Colton finding out that Rob is the traitor? Because I know he's going to be like, Oh, I knew it.

Our first story, Super Bowl recap, part 2 turdies, version turdies. Here, let's get into it. The game, meh, the halftime show, the commercials, the celebrities. What are your thoughts?

I did feel like overall, I feel like, yes, some Super Bowl are buzzie-er than others. Of course, Taylor and Travis. In years past, I think there's been so many cultural elements.

Also, it depends on the location, too. 1,000 %.

Like, Vegas. Tying into the game, outside of the game, that it lifts the whole thing up. I just feel like this year is a little lackluster in its overall glamourousness and buzziness. Like I said, I feel like people are already moved on where I think in years past, we've been talking about it for days and days and days. And of course, there were big moments that we're going to talk about. But overall, I would say a little overwhelming. Do you agree?

Yeah, the teams in the game, I think the couple celebrity connections are Cardi B and they're barely together.

I don't know, just the celebrities that were there. I know Kim was there with her man. I'm like, no one cares.

I don't know, it just felt like a little- No, it's like there's a picture of them kissing and everyone thinks it's AI.

I believe it is AI. So they're right for saying that.

But who knows?

I hope it's AI. It's such a weird picture.

Yeah, I agree. But the celebs did all go. They did. They were in the halftime show. Let's talk about Bad Bunny.

What did you think? Okay, so didn't understand a word. Didn't know a single song.

I understand a lot of it because I speak Espanol.

I know you speak Espanol. Those two things with Standing, you know what? I really enjoyed it. I thought it was so colorful. And I think we talk a lot in music about how dark is cool and darkness and depression. It's just like, uch, that Billy Eilish esthetic. And this was just celebrating family and love. There was a wedding and it was like that little kid. It was very... And I do think that's very The Latin culture celebrates, that's what I'm always saying, food faith family. And it was that. Do you know what I mean? I actually really enjoyed it.. I wish I knew three songs that would have made it a little a bit more fun for me. But as a viewer, I was entertained thoroughly. I liked the set. It was all very, I don't know, bright. Yeah. And I'm always looking for positive, joyful things, and that was extremely positive and joyful. I imagine if you knew the music, it was amazing. And no, I thought he did exactly what he was supposed to do.

And what he was hired to do. Yeah.

I agree. Yeah. It was really... It was fun. And then, not Alex Earle being in the casita. I was shook. Not a Sheena Kurchenthaler's Casita. I was shook. So the concept of there being other people, we always are thinking, who is he going to bring out? I wasn't thinking he was going to be in the casita. You know? Jessica Alba, Cardi B. Now, of course, Jessica Alba is of Latin I sent. Cardi B is our Dominican queen. I wasn't expecting Alex Earle all that to say, but she is Miami. She does really represent Miami. Dave Grutman was there, too. He's Jewish, not. But I think they represent Miami really well. I think Bad Bunny is a a lot of his fans and community members come from Miami. So I understood it. I was really shook to see her there, and I thought she did a really good job. It had the potential to be awkward. You're basically just standing there dancing. And if you've ever been to the Super Bowl, if you're in the stadium, you actually don't really hear a lot. It's produced for television. So I can't imagine she was hearing the song super well or the beats super well.

I thought she really played it off.

It looks like a lot of the background characters had ears in.

So maybe they could hear.

I fucking loved her outfit, too. She showed up, she knew the vibes, and she slayed the house down. Hair, glam, everything. It was such a bad arrangement of the song. I actually liked the music. They were giving it that mariachi, Latin, but she didn't change- Mariachi. I'm hanging out with you too much. Sorry, mariachi. They gave it that very Latin flair, which I love.

It was a great idea.

It was. And then she started singing just the regular old vocals, and I was shook.

As I said yesterday, it was a mashup that did not mesh.

Yes, it should have been a meshup, but it was a messup.

It was a messup. It It was like that was playing while that was playing. It's like someone turned the music off.

I'm trying to think of because it was also a time recently where maybe this happens a lot, where the performer didn't sing with the guests. They just gave the floor to the guests. It did feel weird and random.

I'm not mad. And guests sing their own song that has nothing to do with the performer.

Yeah, it was so fucking random.

And I'm sure Bruno's watching that.

They definitely invited Bruno.

Yeah. Somebody said on Twitter, So mad, but chained to the basement of the casino that he owes money to. I saw that on Twitter.

I was like, Oh. And his Super Bowl is not paid, so he couldn't go.

Correct. He only gets out of his cage for paid affairs. So I No, no, no. Like, Lady Gaga actually cannot do anything wrong in my essence.

No, and she didn't do anything wrong.

She didn't. She also did the job that she was paid there to do. But the overall direction of her part felt really random.

It felt misdirected. Yeah. I agree.

Well, of course, yes. It was just weird. I thought Ricky Martin was a, not obvious, actually, because I wouldn't have guessed him, but a good person to bring out. I like when people bring people out. I think a lot of times people feel too proud. They have to do it themselves. It's fine. It's good.

I like it both ways. I It depends on the person. Sometimes when Lady Gaga did it herself, I loved that.

The weekend should have brought someone out.

So I enjoyed it. I know it was this big, what will it be? And you know what? It was exactly what I think his vibe is, and I enjoyed it. I am personally, and this is just a selfish thing, I'm ready for a pop girly. We had Rihanna. Ever since Jay-Z took over for Apple Music, he really widened. It used to be, I feel, back to back, the pop girlies were holding it down. Even Bruno Mars. So when Jay-Z took over, he expanded it quite a bit and just my own selfish, I'm ready for a pop girly or a country star. So if Jay-Z is listening, that's just what one person, turdy, wants. I would appreciate that. But beyond that, it was a boring game. It's also my first Super Bowl, being a parent, definitely less fun.

Yeah, that was the big theme yesterday. We were like, Oh, the anthem, you mean during bath time?

Yeah, we had to pause because I was doing bath time. We have to talk about the anthem.

We have to talk about Charlie Pooth. Do you have something to say?

I was wrong. And it's so funny because some of the hate that I get is like, Cheri never admits me. She's wrong, mostly when it comes to the Maldoni lively case, and I'm seriously not history- We don't have time for that today.

I'm sorry.

History will be on my side. Jack is like, Shut the fuck up. We can't take any more hate.

No, I'm saying the clock is running. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a 20-minute dive. Sorry. Dive into the hole.

All set to say, I'm always happy to admit when I'm wrong, and I had very low expectations of Charlie Pooth, and I thought he did such an amazing job paying honor to our country, but to also the greats before him. And he had posted a TikTok about how Whitney Houston's version is the greatest- Like the pressure to do the anthem when this one exists. And then he also shared that his arrangement did sample her arrangement, and he really just tried to do the whole thing with such respect for everyone and everything. I saw him being accused of using autotune because his voice is so perfect, but that's just his thing. And I feel like it was a great night for Charlie Pooth. It was also a very great night for Taylor Swift because she is right. Charlie Pooth should be a bigger artist. It was so impressive. For me, if you want me to like something, put a gospel choir in there. I will be shaking my titties. I take me to Church Mama. He had all the elements of it. He also played an instrument live, so he is being compared to Chris Stapleton, who recently did it vocally.

It's hard enough to focus on the voice, let alone the piano or whatever in front of you.

Chris Stapleton- And then some people do too much. They're like, I want to give the anthem my all. They're trying to prove- And they are trying to prove that they can sing and play. And it's like, just do it good. We don't care what you're having to prove to us.

He didn't look nervous. His voice didn't shake.

But it felt like he understood the magnitude.

Yes, that's what I mean. There was so much respect respect for everyone and everything in the performance.

That came before him. For our founding fathers, it felt like there was respect for the country, for the flag, for- For the founding mothers, Whitney Houston.

For our troops. Yes, everything. I had chills.

He really... He understood all.

He had the assignment. Yeah. I thought Coco Jones was incredible. I can tell she was really nervous. So I felt like her voice had a little bit of a tremble to it in the beginning. I was not familiar with her game, vocally, insane. I don't remember them doing a concert ever before.

Yeah, Green Day.

Green Day. Ben was doing bath time, so he was like, I don't even know.

We decided to not tell him that it happened. I don't think he knows. I don't think he didn't know that was happening because if he knew that he missed it, we'd have to go back and watch it again. And we're like, if he never knew that this happened, he wouldn't be upset that he missed it. Let's just move forward.

And then they had all the players standing around. It was a little awkward, but it was fun. It was fresh. It was different. What else can I tell you? The commercials, maybe I'm just a jaded consumer. They did not do it for me in the way that I think in years past, I was making people be quiet during the commercials.

Like my game is on. Yeah.

It's very hard to stand out, I think, these days, and now people do pre-commercials. And we saw the Fanatics one. That's still the best one, I think. I love the Pepsi one.

And it's, again, not to make everything about myself. It does feel like people are confronting their life choices as a result of this commercial. And I confronted those choices years ago. Yeah. You didn't need this push.

You're bigger than everyone else, but it's good that other people are now seeing what you've already seen and tasting what you've already tasted.

Oh, of course, no. And like, oh, good. This was one of my hallmark moments. I've been waiting when it comes to the Olympics, things I want to see was her speed skate. Not only did she win gold, which was her goal, she set a new Olympic record. So it was just an insane feat. And if you watch Paul American, you know that a part of their story is her personally sacrificing so much not being with her fiancé. And training for the sake of this goal. And even if she didn't get it, it would have been a valiant effort. But the fact that she did makes it all so worth it.

And now she can ride off in the sunset with Jake in peace, move to Puerto Rico, not always be chasing the Olympic dream because she's climbed the mountain, she's reached the summit, and now she can move on.

I also didn't realize how big of a deal she was in the Netherlands. She's like a Katie Ledecky. I was trying to think of a similar athlete. She's so beloved. And the announcers on the live broadcast were saying she's five million dollars. It was giving me so juggy. They were like, She's five million dollars. And then they cut to the broadcast in Dutch and how the commenters were screaming. She is this like a Michael Phelps of her generation, and she's so beloved.

It did ring me back. There was a time when the Bachelor promo dropped, and every year it was like, it was a Super Bowl.

And then what song they were going to use. It literally made songs. I remember Fifth Harmony, That's My Girl. Any song they chose was the song of the year. Their impact at one point just reminded me this clip of how much has changed, of how big their impact was for my young adult life. It was given really scripted. It was weird.

I hate to be a hater. I was glad that it wound up being the glam. The point of the glam was that it wasn't for her, and she shut it off because when I was watching her in that dress, I'm like, That dress is wearing her. It wasn't a moment at all. I was like, This is not glamorous. Maybe the point was to be like, Yeah, because she's not comfortable. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it just felt like low budget. You know the whole thing was on a green screen, so she's just walking around a green screen, and then they added all this I guess they're playing into a storyline, which is her life.

It's not a storyline, but that she chooses these terrible people because it's a projection of how she feels, how she sees herself. And I don't know, it didn't just give me a lot of confidence because I feel like when you go to the bachelor, you should be ready. You should have answered these questions.

No, I'm not feeling a lot of confidence in the actual relationship that will come out of the show. I think it will be I love her. I just want to watch her. But I agree. I don't know if she's ready to meet the one.

Am I wrong for feeling upset that he didn't tell me and that he never asked anyone in his family why the new chat was created without me. I'm newer to the family and I'm trying to be understanding, but it makes me sad to think that he didn't even question it when the new chat was made or give me a heads up about it. By the way, his mom is the one who added me to the original chat, not him.

Okay. I don't think this is a big deal. I think there are a lot of permutations of chat, and whichever chat pops off just speaks to the nature of the people in the chat. But there's no reason why that chat should be more vibrant than the chat that you're in. And if you want to be involved in more chat things, then write in the chat you're in and make that the one. I also think it's just simply a seniority thing. Like, family chats, I don't know how serious people take it, but you really only get added when you're like... And you said that this girlfriend has been with the brother longer than you. So I just feel like maybe your time not in yet. And it's actually nice that they have a chat with you. But the O-G family chat, you haven't been there long enough to be a part of. And your boyfriend not telling you, I want to say, one, he's a man he probably didn't notice or really care. And two, it was probably more in service of your feelings. Why do you need to know about a chat that you're not in?

I actually had a lot of pregnancy rage, too. People talk a lot about the different emotions. A lot of people get very emotional, very sad or whatever. I experienced mostly rage, fiery, passionate rage, mostly directed at bed. I'm a new mom and I love my husband. He's never given me a reason to question him. After numerous asks to throw away his vape, because we have a daughter now, and swearing that he was done, I caught him on the security camera using one again. When I confronted him, he completely lied a little too well. And only when I confessed that I watched him on the camera did he slowly then start to admit to it, saying that he lied because he knew that I didn't like the vape. Is this shady? Am I being hormonal? What is the proper reaction?

To me, sitting here, having no personal stake in it, this doesn't sound like a huge deal. However, to you, there have been multiple crimes committed here that have to do with your daughter's health, your partner's health, lying, trust, betrayal, all of this while you are in a very fragile state. So I understand for you, dear reader, why you're seeing red, and I'm not going to stop you.

I am coming at this as a former vape addict, just to perhaps color the situation a little bit. I want to assume that he's trying his best. It's so hard. Might I recommend quit with Jones? I don't think you should reprimand him.

This is definitely a personal thing. I'm aware of my own. Things that I really value are stability. I don't like to take risks, especially when it comes to money. I think a home needs to be a stable. And if your job is boring and unfulfilling, you're like, That's just too fucking bad. But I'm not saying that's the right way to That's how I think things should be. Are you this willy-nilly freelance, flower hair in the wind type of gal? Or do you also value those pillars of stability and security? Because if that's the case, maybe it's not a match.
