Welcome to the Level Up Podcast. I'm your host, Paul Alex. I went from being a cop to an 8-figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day. I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals. Let's win together.
Remember, I have your 6. Get ready to level up right now.
What's up everyone? Welcome back to the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex, and today we're We're talking about something that can feel productive while keeping you stuck— learning. You've watched the videos, you've taken notes, you've heard how other people built their businesses, but what have you done with any of it? Because let's be real, you can't build your whole business in your watch history.
I believe in investing in yourself. Before law enforcement, I spent years in corporate sales at Ecolab. Later, I developed digital marketing skills and learned from mentors in payment processing. Learning has been a big part of my path. But I also had to apply it.
I had to talk to people, explain an offer, and do the work. Knowing what someone recommends and being able to do it yourself are different stages. You have to get to the second one. Here's where people get stuck. They learn something useful, but instead of trying it, they look for another opinion.
Then another. Pretty soon, they're comparing 5 ways to get customers without having had 5 customer conversations. Try this. Before you start your next lesson, write down what you did with the last one. If the answer is nothing, pause.
Was it useful to the business you're actually trying to build? If it was, put it to work. If it wasn't, be more careful about where you spend your attention. Make the application small enough to finish. If you studied how to explain your offer, write it in plain language and test whether somebody understands it.
If you learned how to estimate your costs, work through the cost of your actual service. Then bring the result back to the person teaching you. Now you can ask a useful question. You tried something, you saw what happened, and you know where you're stuck. That's a much stronger place to learn from than collecting advice you'll get around to someday.
Bottom line, keep learning, but make the learning earn its place in your week. Choose something relevant, apply it, review what happened. You don't need to stop being a student. You need to give yourself some work to learn from. That's how information starts making a difference.
