Welcome to the Level Up Podcast. I'm your host Paul Alex. I went from being a cop to an eight-figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day. I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals. Let's win together. Remember, I have your 6. Get ready to level up right now. What's up everyone? Welcome back to the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex, and today we're talking about something that keeps good people from moving forward. You're waiting to feel confident. Confident enough to sell. Confident enough to lead. Confident enough to have the conversation. But if you keep avoiding the thing that makes you uncomfortable, where is that confidence supposed to come from? Police work forced me to get out of my shell. As a detective and case agent, I had to communicate with other officers and take responsibility for serious investigations. Being uncomfortable didn't make those responsibilities disappear. That's why I say you have to become uncomfortable to get comfortable. You learn to handle the situation by participating in it. Standing outside it and imagining everything that could go wrong doesn't give you the same experience.
Maybe you're starting a business and you hate talking about your offer. You worry you'll sound awkward. Okay, you might sound awkward at first. You might get a question you can't answer yet. You can be honest, find out, and follow up. That doesn't mean you're incapable of selling. It means you're learning. Give yourself permission to sound like somebody who's learning instead of demanding that your first conversation sound like your hundredth. The same goes for leadership. If somebody isn't meeting an expectation, avoiding the conversation won't help them understand it. Prepare what you need to say. Be clear about what happened and what needs to change. Then, have the conversation with respect. And afterward, look at what you can improve. Did you listen? Did you explain yourself? Did you agree on the next step? That's how you build confidence you can use. You do the work, review it, and get better. You don't need to become a different person overnight. Bottom line? Stop making confidence the price of admission. You can be nervous and still ask a good question. You can feel uncomfortable and still speak clearly. Pick the conversation you've been avoiding, prepare for it, and have it.
Let experience give you something that waiting never will. Thanks for tuning in to the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex, reminding you that being uncomfortable is something you can work through. Waiting to feel confident can keep an important conversation on hold for months. You rehearse it. You postpone it. The experience you need stays out of reach. In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down how confidence develops through preparation, uncomfortable conversations, and honest reflection afterward.Paul shares how police work pushed him to communicate and take responsibility even when he felt uncomfortable. Those responsibilities gave him opportunities to practice skills that also matter in sales and leadership. For entrepreneurs, an awkward first conversation is part of learning. You can admit when you need an answer, follow up, and improve. For leaders, preparing a clear, respectful conversation gives the other person a chance to understand what needs to change. Reviewing how you listened and explained yourself makes the next conversation more useful. In this episode, you’ll learn:• Why avoiding discomfort limits the experience that builds confidence.• How to handle questions you cannot answer yet.• What to prepare before a difficult leadership conversation.• How listening and reviewing your performance support improvement. The truth is simple:Nerves do not have to decide whether you show up. Prepare, participate, and give yourself room to learn.Choose the conversation you have been avoiding.Let your next attempt build your confidence.Your Network is your NETWORTH!Make sure to add me on all SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS:Instagram: https://jo.my/paulalex2024Facebook: https://jo.my/fbpaulalex2024YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGhDAD1JyGGzSQUPD9lc9HQLinkedIn: https://jo.my/inpaulalex2024Looking for a secondary source of income or want to become an entrepreneur?
