Welcome to the Level Up Podcast. I'm your host, Paul Alex. I went from being a cop to an 8-figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day. I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals. Let's win together.

00:00:16

Remember, I have your 6. Get ready to level up right now.

00:00:21

What's up everyone? Welcome back to the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex, and today I want to tell you something about discipline. During my time in law enforcement, I often woke up between 3 and 5 in the morning. I worked out 6 days a week.

00:00:35

I worked long hours and took the job seriously. I was also putting work ahead of family and friends more often than I should have. Both things were true. I could point to the early mornings. I could point to the effort.

00:00:47

But those things didn't erase what I was neglecting. That's a part of my story I don't want to leave out. You can be consistent and You still need to change what you're being consistent about. If every extra hour goes to work and the people you care about always get whatever is left, being able to push harder isn't your only problem. I'm a husband and a father now.

00:01:07

I still have big goals. I want to build businesses and develop leaders. I also don't want to repeat the mistake of putting work ahead of nearly everything else. That means I have to care about how the business operates. Clear responsibilities.

00:01:21

People who can make decisions. Systems that don't require me to personally handle every problem. Those things matter because of the life I want to live, not just the company I want to grow. So look at your own version of being disciplined. Maybe you never miss a workout but keep breaking plans with your family.

00:01:38

Maybe you hit every work deadline but keep putting off a conversation that matters. Don't use one area you're proud of to avoid looking at another. Choose one commitment you've been neglecting. Decide what following through would require. Maybe something at work needs to be planned earlier or handed off properly.

00:01:56

Make that change. Give this part of your life the same seriousness you give the work people praise you for. Bottom line? Being able to work hard is valuable. Knowing what deserves that effort matters, too.

00:02:08

Take an honest look at what your routine is producing and what it's costing. You don't have to give up your ambition to correct a pattern you're not proud of. Thanks for tuning in to the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex reminding you to give the people you love the same commitment you bring to your work. Make the adjustment, honor the commitment, and as always, keep leveling up.
