Good morning, girlies. It's The Toast.

00:00:09

It's Jackson, Claude, and we're your hosts.

00:00:14

It's your favorite show, the fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's The Toast.

00:00:23

I sound amazing.

00:00:25

Welcome back to The Toast and happy Wednesday. Apologies for a late episode. We were busy engaging in a sacred covenant.

00:00:31

A sacred covenant. We were celebrating the Brit Milah of our nephew, the bris.

00:00:37

Olivia's son had his bris today. Always an emotional day.

00:00:40

Yes. It was a beautiful morning. So we are recording a little bit later. Yes. But if you've been here since 2018, like it's actually, you know, the normal time.

00:00:49

Yeah. And it's a big day. You know, you find out the baby's name. I love what Olivia did. Tarek is such a beautiful name.

00:00:54

And now we can have him on namesake.

00:00:56

Yes. Thank God. Oh yeah. We asked Olivia just to name her baby Tarek. So that we could have Tarek El Moussa on Namesake.

00:01:03

Yes.

00:01:04

It was either that or Mindy.

00:01:07

The naming of Olivia's child is very exciting because, you know, a new life, of course, world, a new nephew, and that's so exciting. Of course. But the potential that it opens up for Namesake cannot be understated.

00:01:18

Every action has an equal reaction. Yes. You naming your baby, but it's also the future of Namesake is at stake.

00:01:23

Yes. So who do we want to interview? On the podcast.

00:01:27

We'll have to influence all of our siblings to start naming their children after major celebrities like Tarek El Moussa.

00:01:32

I need someone to name their next son Sincere.

00:01:37

Okay, Olivia's baby's not named Tarek, by the way. She will be doing— we're not gonna steal her.

00:01:40

She's probably gonna post the name today, but we're not gonna like share. We're not gonna do it. That's her name to share.

00:01:43

But Jackie brilliantly segue— today's episode is giving TV recap. Last night was part 2 of the Summer House reunion, the season premiere of Love Island USA. We watched it all, we're recapping it all. It's going to be in the stories. If you did watch, great.

00:01:53

If you didn't, the timestamps will be in the episode And if you didn't, like, it's been just one episode, you can still listen to our historical recap of it. 'Cause I'm really curious, like, what you're gonna say. I watched as much as I humanly could last night.

00:02:04

I mean, an hour and 45 minutes after we also had to watch a Summer House reunion is insane work.

00:02:08

Yeah. So I was watching TV till like 10:20, I think, and then I called it a night. Um, so I think I watched like an hour 15. I saw all the couples couple up. Mm-hmm. I saw a couple conversations of who I could see having a spark betwixt them. Mm-hmm. And we'll discuss.

00:02:22

Yeah. And this is just, um, a little tip if you're going to be engaging in Love Island that I found out last season that changed my life. The episodes are 9:00 on Peacock. They actually put them up at about 8:36. So I was able to watch the whole episode and go to bed at about 10:20.

00:02:39

What about Summer House?

00:02:40

For the laypeople, I'm just— I'm— I didn't bring that up. Like, I— yes, I have access to Summer House screeners. I was able to watch the Summer House reunion from 7 to 8 and then 8:30. Like, I slayed. I wasn't like going to rub that in people's faces. Yes. Yes, I did. Having said that, on days that it's not, you still can go to bed earlier because the episodes actually come out 20 minutes before they say they do.

00:03:00

Thank you so much. It's a huge tip. I mean, every minute counts. Like my day is scheduled to the minute within a minute of each other. Like if I can get back 20 minutes in my day, I could like seriously take over the world.

00:03:13

And I just gave you 20 minutes.

00:03:15

And I'm gonna take over the world.

00:03:16

Slay. Taking over the world. Um, yes, my husband did miss my sister's bris, mm-hmm. Because he's in San Antonio. He did get permission. He like asked everyone and I, I did think it was okay. Like I, I stand by that decision.

00:03:27

I thought it was okay.

00:03:28

Ben got like a once in a lifetime opportunity. Shout out to like a true mensch, a tzaddik, um, Tyler Cameron who got the opportunity of a lifetime and included Ben in it. He got asked to go to the Knicks game with like a brand. I think it's Michelob Ultra. They're taking a private jet from New York with Knicks legends and media and influencers. And Tyler was invited and he included Ben. They flew to New York this morning. I don't believe they've gotten on the plane yet.

00:03:52

Did Tyler and Ben fly to New York together? They're like a couple of best friends.

00:03:55

No, and I heard Ben— you're going to love this— I heard Ben talk to texting last night, cuz Tyler's like not a Knicks fan, he's from Florida.

00:04:02

Yeah.

00:04:02

Um, I heard Ben like talk to texting last night being like, do you need me to bring you a hat? And then when he was packing, he packed two hats. It was really cute. Um, no, so I believe they're on the tarmac at the private airport like loading up. Ben sent me a picture of him and Walt Clyde Frazier, like huge. Um, I'm really happy for Ben, like this is major. And he's going—

00:04:18

what's the size of the plane?

00:04:18

I I don't know. And like, Ben's giving me nothing. I'm sure like he can't really talk cuz he's like actively in it. So hopefully he can like go to the bathroom later and gimme the rundown. Yeah. Um, like who else is on it? Like is Ben Stiller, Kylie and Timothée? Like who's there?

00:04:31

Yeah.

00:04:31

Who's there?

00:04:32

Not Kylie and Timothée. They're on Kylie Air and she's in Turks and Caicos.

00:04:36

Mm-hmm.

00:04:36

For a brand trip, which is a story for her own, for her friend's vacation.

00:04:39

Yeah. One thing I love about that, and we'll talk about it, is like all these other, even Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez, these huge beauty, um, moguls, even they have to like slum it and do the brand trips and hang out with the influencers and make TikToks. Kylie's like, I'm not doing doing that. Like, I'll do my own version of it, but I am— she is not making like a Micaela Nogueira TikTok. Like, she's just not doing it.

00:04:57

She used to. Like, she used to do the YouTube videos. Yeah, YouTube. James Charles.

00:05:02

And I just feel like that was probably curative of her ever wanting to do it again.

00:05:05

Yeah. And I think, you know, it's— you want to try and differentiate yourself. Not everyone's gonna be Tarding around the world. Not everyone can be Tard or should be Tard. So like, here, we're gonna do like a friends and family trip, and people are gonna talk about it because it's different.

00:05:17

Yeah. So we'll talk about it. It's one of the stories along with Love Island. Lots to discuss. Summer House reunion as well. So anything else we wanna PFFB about before we dive in about?

00:05:28

No, I would say no. It's so weird, like doing the toast at a different time. Like usually my day is very routine. Me too. You know, I, the amount of beverages I consume before the toast is pretty much the same every day. The amount that I eat before the toast is, is the same every day.

00:05:40

I had a piece of cake already today.

00:05:42

That's insane. Like usually I've had like my electrolytes, a couple bites of a macro bar, a coffee, and then I'm working on my water here.

00:05:48

Yeah.

00:05:48

This morning I had my electrolytes. I've had 3 different kinds of coffee. 100 bagels. None that I like.

00:05:54

Yeah.

00:05:54

I had a bagel. I had a black and white cookie.

00:05:57

Yeah.

00:05:57

It's very— Oh, Margot got me an iced vanilla latte that wasn't sugar-free vanilla. So I'm like hopped up on sugar.

00:06:03

It's—

00:06:04

And I'm, I'm having a crash a little bit.

00:06:05

It's very jarring when the first thing you do of, of the day is not the toast. Like that's been my life for 10 years.

00:06:11

And to, no, but, but to do the toast with like different things inside of me that I'm not usually—

00:06:17

Well, you're seeing it from like the stomach POV. I'm talking about it from like the brain POV. Oh, that too.

00:06:18

But I'm saying, like I've never experienced like a sugar crash before the toast.

00:06:24

I wonder if today's episode will be worse or better given the fact that it's not the first thing we did today.

00:06:29

I think it's going to be— I think it's going to be amazing, but it might be a little different. Different is good. Due to—

00:06:35

sometimes we need to shake it up.

00:06:36

The vanilla latte and the black and white cookie and the bagel.

00:06:40

And, and I had cake as well.

00:06:42

You did have cake. I didn't try the cake, but it was beautiful.

00:06:44

It was beautiful.

00:06:45

The place looked great.

00:06:46

It always does.

00:06:48

Thank you.

00:06:49

So yeah, pretty much like dying to talk about all the TV I watched last night and can't do that.

00:06:54

Um, oh, and then the other thing that I did yesterday was record the Redheads in this studio with Miss Margot, Dana, and Rebecca on Zoom, but we have like a huge monitor here, so like it was so premium. Better. It was amazing. And I was also saying like goals for the Redheads, you know, it used to be like Redheads Production Company, like I've probably moved on from that. Get a private jet, Redheads Air, to fly the girls in every month, record right here so we can be together, fly them back.

00:07:20

I mean, there are technically 4 seats at this table that we're sitting at for my—

00:07:22

no, it would be amazing for the Redheads. And I'm so glad that like we had such a party set up for this book because the opinions were flying. We barely got to the questions.

00:07:30

Good. It's better when like people have really extreme both positive and negative takes on a book because it makes for much better—

00:07:35

no, and like everybody's talking about this book. So if you read the book, you have to listen to the Redheads. If you're just like curious about the book but don't actually want to read it, you have to listen to the Redheads. Like seriously, nobody's doing what we're doing.

00:07:46

Agreed.

00:07:47

Nobody could.

00:07:48

Nobody tried. Nobody would. Nobody would dare.

00:07:48

Nobody would would dare read 72 books like for fun.

00:07:52

I wouldn't.

00:07:53

For the love of books, I wouldn't. So that's coming out tomorrow.

00:07:56

Let's dive in. Like, I just— wow, okay, I want to do it, you know?

00:07:59

Oh wow, okay.

00:08:00

Oh yeah, I got like a little charm.

00:08:02

It's not little.

00:08:03

Yeah, I have like a little charm.

00:08:04

It's very big.

00:08:06

ASMR with my charm. Like, this is so like—

00:08:08

I'm so Gen Z for sure, but it's big. By the way, yesterday I heard the name Garrett Geklund like 12 more times after I had lunch.

00:08:17

You're confusing him with our other boyfriend Garrett Hedlund.

00:08:20

What's this guy's name? Garrett Graham. That's character. Well, unfortunately Margo is staying at my house, so I heard him come up so many more times and it's too much.

00:08:32

It's actually not. And like, I'm sorry that you're— and like, the show is not for you. I actually would not recommend that you watch it.

00:08:37

I shouldn't— like, now I'm sorry, it is starting to permeate a little bit more.

00:08:40

Of course, you won't like it. Like, it's just not for you. And I think it's okay for things like not to be for you. Um, so don't— but like, just acknowledge that like it's the biggest thing in the world right now and like everyone's talking about it and just like, it's like, it's good clean fun. Well, not clean fun.

00:08:52

I'm just like so I'm so tired of like all of this disposable nonsense, you know? Like, Garrett built a business on disposable. No, no, no, I'm not talking about the things that are— we've been recapping Housewives for a decade. We've been talking about these shows for many years. We're not doing disposable. No, it's like, it's the streaming and it's a culture where it's like the biggest thing ever was like The Kissing Booth, to All the Boys I Loved Before. It's like, yeah. And I just want something real.

00:09:18

Okay, but like, for me, like, The Kissing Booth is still the most important minute To All the Boys I Love—

00:09:24

you are true, you are the embodiment. The minute To All the Boys I Love Before Time—

00:09:26

so young and Gen Z.

00:09:28

Yeah, all you said was Kissing Booth could never—

00:09:30

Kissing Booth was a piece of shit. Yeah, right. And so I was only able to see that after I saw a movie as good as To All the Boys I Love Before Time.

00:09:35

You know what, it's like fast fashion, it's fast content.

00:09:38

It is. The Summer I Turned Pretty, everything happens in 2 days, blows up, every—

00:09:42

this person's like everywhere. It's just, it feels a little artificial and I find it fatiguing.

00:09:47

So I agree that like the way content gets rolled out, I think it's also very expensive and exhausting for like streaming services because nothing has a lasting impact. Like, and great what's happening with Off Campus, but like, it'll die down. And when season 2 comes out, it won't be as big as season 1. Like, whatever. Yes, these things have— except I feel like Tell Me Lies actually—

00:10:03

yeah, Tell Me Lies really— there was meat. There is meat.

00:10:06

And this season, it was just as buzzy as the one before. More often than not, the second and third seasons of these shows, like, you just do die down. Um, so I agree, like, as a more of a statement on culture, like, it is crazy that content, it gets churned out so quickly. They spend like $20 million on a TV show that people talk about for less than a week, and then it's on to the next, on to the next.

00:10:22

More than $20 million.

00:10:23

And that's more— that's more of like a statement on just like general culture and like people's attention spans and like binge culture. So don't take it out on Garrett Graham, okay?

00:10:30

My boyfriend, like, he is really the straw for me.

00:10:33

Like, don't hate the player, hate the game.

00:10:35

I, I am hating both.

00:10:37

Well, I couldn't— they could never make me hate you, Garrett Graham. But again, don't watch it.

00:10:42

Like, I think it'll make this situation worse for you if I know what they're actually—

00:10:46

if I know, because you just won't like it.

00:10:47

Like, it's not for you, right? But what if I watched it and I liked it and like then I'm like, okay, I get like why everyone's talking about it? But you're saying, but like, that's just one—

00:10:54

I know you, you're just too like—

00:10:56

you can put me in a box, you really can. Okay, watch it.

00:10:56

I I would absolutely love for you to watch it.

00:11:00

Maybe I will. Okay, now I have to watch Love Island, but maybe I would.

00:11:04

But it's like, yeah, it's like if anybody needs anything for me in the next month, like 6 weeks—

00:11:07

6 weeks, they said last night.

00:11:08

I can't do anything. I currently am working 2 full-time jobs and one of them is watching Love Island USA and being a full-time mother.

00:11:14

3 jobs. It's a lot. You try being a TV recapper for a day. Try it. Um, but it's like if I watched Off Campus and, and it was like bad, you know, like say objectively, I don't— is Off Campus objectively— not me, not you Is it good or is it bad?

00:11:31

I can't answer that because my initial criticisms of the show—

00:11:34

because life's subjective.

00:11:35

Well, of course. My initial criticisms of the show I do feel are still true. Like it is community theater. It's like corny.

00:11:42

ABC Family.

00:11:42

But like if you could just not take it that seriously and just like relax a little bit, like it's a fun show and it's like sweet and you do find yourself like grinning when he's just like a cute guy. He's an athlete.

00:11:52

Like it's very— I like ABC Family type content. I like Hallmark.

00:11:56

Yeah, yeah, so maybe, well, I don't know, I can never, I don't know, I don't know what you'd like.

00:12:00

Try it. I think I have to watch it to find out if it's good.

00:12:02

But if you watch it, I need you to commit to 3 episodes. Okay. Okay.

00:12:07

In 6 weeks.

00:12:08

Yeah, TTISW, talk to you in 6 weeks.

Better Turt. I'm constantly striving to be a better Turt. Do you find that you're constantly trying to be a better jerk?

00:18:21

Yeah, always good to, to work on jerk self.

00:18:24

100%.

00:18:25

Our first story, Summer House reunion part 2 bombshells. First, Sierra Miller FaceTimes Wes Wilson's ex Mija, who shares new timeline details.

00:18:34

Yeah, that was helpful. When I first saw Ciara calling her, I'm like, okay, this is kind of like low-hanging fruit. And like, you don't need more people on your side. I just thought like it was kind of like lame. But she did share like her and Wes having dated over the summer, and she's like at the apartment while he's at— in the Hamptons for the weekend. Like, okay, that's crazy.

00:18:50

Yeah, that is crazy. And when she said— and Kyle said like, you had a girlfriend when you were dating Amanda, like, I don't care. I don't care about this unless the girlfriend was Lindsay Hubbard. Like, I don't—

00:18:59

is the girlfriend in the room with us?

00:19:00

I don't just care about like a random person. And someone always has the girlfriend, whatever.

00:19:04

It's giving like The Bachelor when somebody like, he broke up with me before, you know? It's like, okay, great.

00:19:09

Totally. But for them to have cumulatively been together almost a year, he was actually seeing her over the summer. So like, did he cheat on her with Sierra? What was that about? Have Sierra and Mija spoke about that moment? Also, Mija was like waiting for him in New York at his apartment all the time while he was in the Hamptons, while he was filming. He said that he wouldn't be able to be on the show if he had a girlfriend.

00:19:28

Not true.

00:19:29

Which I think is true for season 1 cast members.

00:19:31

Yeah, of course. No, Wes is like a staple now and he's had like a lot of, he's very invested in the friend group. You're allowed to be in a relationship.

00:19:35

Yeah. And I guess he could've of, if he really liked her, you know, offered to bring her on the show. But he also said like he was sort of protecting her from public opinion and whatnot. He was sort of giving this girl the runaround. Yeah, she's like a schmuck waiting at the apartment like, yeah, he says he loves me, but like, he's— I can't go on the show, I can't be seen out in public with him, he loves me too much.

00:19:51

Yeah, right, right.

00:19:53

Um, and she's like building furniture for him, like, oh, that was dark.

00:19:56

The build— I've been married for 10 years, I would never build a piece of furniture for my husband.

00:20:01

At first when Sierra said like, didn't You build the furniture in his apartment. I was like, is she a carpenter? Cause I know she made the ties. So I was like, maybe she's a pansy.

00:20:09

Very much. Yeah.

00:20:10

She builds maybe like, I follow some girls on Instagram who, who build furniture. Mm-hmm.

00:20:14

They do. Mm-hmm.

00:20:14

So I was like, maybe that's what she does. But she was talking like, she was saying like, we, you know, and that's a thing couples do is they build the IKEA furniture. They fight, they work through it. They're stronger for it.

00:20:21

Yeah. She was making a more of a statement on like the level of commitment they had made to one another. Yeah.

00:20:25

But I did not see that as a slide.

00:20:28

I had two major takeaways from this reunion. One, like, everyone was pissing me off because I'm all down to like clown on Weston and Amanda. Like, I'm there with you all, but like, when we are rewriting history when it comes to Amanda and Kyle's marriage, like, I found that really frustrating because it's like, yeah, we can now look at everything with like more of a sinister eye and like not blame Kyle for everything, but like, we all watched, we all saw what happened this summer. And so for everyone, like, seriously, I'm surprised they didn't snap their necks bending over backwards just to try to make their marriage completely Amanda's fault. Like, it was actually painful because up until now like what everyone against Oppenheimer and West have had on their side is like the truth. Mm-hmm. And like now it's like we're bending the truth. Like Kyle's not this guy. He is a bad—

00:21:06

he's not an amazing husband.

00:21:07

Everyone trying to like, what do you mean? Like he'd never cheated on you. And it's like, what are you guys talking about? Like everyone was actually pissing me off to the point where it's like, okay, well now the team of truth tellers is actually starting to lie and that's pissing me off.

00:21:19

Yeah. And like Sierra saying like, I wish I saw things from your side this summer. I got the impression this summer that Sierra doesn't even like Kyle as a friend. Yeah. Like not only is he a bad husband, but a bad person, to her best friend, but like she's not interested in a friendship with him. Like now rewriting history, been like, I should have like been there for you. Like, been there for whom?

00:21:35

No, and when they were like rehashing the argument where he told her to shut the fuck up, called her a dumb bitch, like we're all, um, sort of we're rationalizing it, we're justifying it.

00:21:42

Sandra is like a wicked woman now, so it's like, well, of course the wicked woman should fuck up. Deserved it.

00:21:47

Yeah, and it's like, let's not do that. Let's not rewrite. Two things can be true. It was really pissing me off. And even when like West had to apologize to Kyle, the only time he apologized in this whole reunion so far was he apologized to Kyle for the Wolf of Wall street, which I didn't think was a bad analogy. I thought I agreed with him. Like, what are— like, so now West is to apologize for saying something about Kyle in regards to how Kyle speaks to his wife? Like, everything was just kind of backwards when we were talking about Amanda and Kyle's marriage. It was pissing me off.

00:22:16

Yeah, and it really wasn't that big of a deal. He tried to make an analogy. Sure, it was a little harsh, but like, for Kyle to like go crying, whining, like, you ruined my gift.

00:22:24

Like, oh right, yeah, the watch. Like, no, everyone has lost the plot now. Like, and it's just annoying when people do 'cause now it's like, well, now I'm like looking at everything you're saying with like a little bit of a suspicious eye. But it was the first time in the reunion where the, the, the couch that I'm siding with like was pissing me off. Yeah. When we talk about Wes and Amanda and we talk about the timeline, like they are 100% wrong. They shouldn't even speak because there's nothing to say.

00:22:47

Two things that are like bothering me and lingering for me. One, like I need someone to ask the question, like Amanda, you were best friends with Sierra this summer, crying in the bed together, like sisters, sisters. How do you go from that to your feelings for this man are strong enough to betray your sister, even though you've never said you're in love? You hadn't had sex. You're just exploring something. Like, how do you rationally make that decision in your head? Like, where was your relationship at with Sierra in January, in February, when Sierra says she's been there for you and she's checking in and she wants to go to drinks? Yeah. And so like, what gave you permission to do that to someone who is a sister to you? Yeah. Why did you think that that was an okay thing to do? One. The other thing is that everyone keeps saying West cares so much about being well-liked, his image. Dara said it, and we've been saying this for years, you know, the watch parties, the fans. He want— he cares about his Q score. He resented Sierra for like turning the fans against him.

00:23:41

What I don't understand, like when people say that, it just makes me feel like he loves Amanda even more because he's throwing all of that in the garbage.

00:23:48

And I think it's just like the alternative, like he acted on an impulse, and it went so south that the alternative to now, like, backing out of it is worse.

00:23:55

But they could have made out once in private, in private, even if it came to light, you know, apologize because he cares about being likable. Yeah, but it seems as though he likes Amanda more than he cares about being likable. So the more that they say that and that he's using her to be likable, they've never been more unlikable. Yeah, it's not adding up. It actually makes me feel like he's thrown away everything that he once cared about more than anything for this girl.

00:24:21

And maybe it's just that we've like beat this situation to a hor— like beat to a pulp that like now I'm just starting to see alternative sides. Because like you can only talk about something so much before you offer another perspective. But like everyone was really pissing me off last night. Like I think that like undoubtedly what they've done is wrong and their behavior is really strange. That's really what it is. But I think that people are taking it like— I think KJ putting his like family history and drama on Wes, like that's that's unfair. Um, it's a lot. Like, that kind of has nothing to do with this, and I'm sorry that like maybe you resonate with this type of behavior, but to put all of that on Wes is like really not his doing. So I just feel like now everyone's really lost the plot and they're just like obsessed with yelling at Amanda and Kyle so much, so to the point where it's making Amanda and Kyle look— look— Wes— Amanda and Wes like look good. Like, I actually felt bad for Amanda.

00:25:04

Like, yeah, it's like, bring her back out so we can beat her up again.

00:25:07

Yeah, like, I actually— I felt bad for them.

00:25:08

They're like, get out here, coward. Like, yeah. Yeah, and she's really just like doing her best. She's obviously just trying to get through the day. She doesn't care how it goes. She doesn't care what's said to her. She's there to be a punching bag and move forward from it. But she's like obviously having a hard time doing that, uh, despite all the copious medication that she appears to be on. Yeah, cuz it is hard, of course. And it's like everyone like pretends to also like kind of care, cuz Lindsay's like, I, I'll go after her.

00:25:32

Yeah, just like beat her up again, you know.

00:25:34

Lindsay was like piling on a little bit, like, oh girl, they all are, and I understand they are in the right. What she did was so wrong, like, let's get her.

00:25:42

Yeah, but like, to what end?

00:25:43

To what end? Um, they've chosen each other. They don't think it's a huge deal, and the bigger deal that everyone makes it, the more it—

00:25:55

like, we're all— at least for me, I'm like, all right, like, it's bad.

00:25:59

Yeah, yeah. But it gets to a point where, like, does the punishment fit the crime.

00:26:04

Um, let's talk quickly about Lindsay and Carl. The way I ship— like, when he was like saying how it meant so much to him that Lindsay came, like, what do you mean?

00:26:13

Of course she came, it's her job.

00:26:14

And he did also like apologize. I feel like as Lindsay— we were like Lindsay truthers— he did pull the rug out from underneath her. And I think that everybody like hated Lindsay at that time, so Carl was sort of like victim.

00:26:26

Yeah.

00:26:27

And for him to be like, no, like, it meant a lot for her, for me, for her to come, like, even after how I treated her, which, like, I am really sorry for. Just, it was like a very small, brief acknowledgment, but, like, for me as a Lindsay truther, it felt good.

00:26:37

But I need that from the rest of the cast. They were so awful to her.

00:26:40

Then Lindsay's right, like, when Amanda leaves, Lindsay's like, you know how many— and it's true, Lindsay, for like 3 seasons in a row, was just getting her ass beat at the reunion. Like, all the girls— the girls were so fucking mean to her. Like, the girls, girls, like, they just were looking for anything to, to find fault in with her. And yeah, she never got up. She's just like, she's a different breed.

00:26:59

She's built different. She's tough and she's strong and she can handle it. Amanda is weak and she can't handle it.

00:27:06

Yeah, but it's a good point. Like, I could see, I could see why she has sort of no sympathy for Amanda because like, yeah, like Lizzie's like, I didn't even do shit as bad as you and I get to take it.

00:27:15

They, they get the credit for coming to the reunion. We get to say like they came to the reunion, you know. If they didn't come to the reunion, they'd be off the next season. It would be a breach of contract. So someone was saying like she comes to the reunion but she's not actually going to do the reunion. It seems like a bit of a cop-out, but she's doing it.

00:27:28

She's doing it. Like, I, I now I'm at the place where I feel like she's been punished. I don't think she fully understands why what she did is so wrong. That's what's crazy.

00:27:35

And for me, it's the betrayal of Sierra. How you could do that to a sister with the guy that she was crying with you over for 5 months ago, because their relationship went a little bit into September, I I guess. So that's happening in September, and then like January, you start— February, you start catching feelings. Like, that's the thing that she really needs to answer for. In the beginning of the saga, I was like, oh my God, that's crazy for Kyle, like his best friend and his wife's missus, you know, but, um, his mate's missus. But Kyle was such a shite husband.

00:28:07

It's true. So I, I agree. I actually don't think— let's say Wes was just Kyle's friend, not Sierra's like, you know what, when you treat your wife like such dog shit, you actually don't get the respect afterwards.

00:28:18

That would be if Amanda started dating Jesse Solomon, which would be cute.

00:28:22

Yeah, it would be crazy.

00:28:23

Like, maybe it would be a storyline. It would be scandalous, but I think a lot of people would root for it. They would want to see her happy. She chose the one person who she should not have chosen.

00:28:32

Absolutely. And I don't think she fully gets— I don't think she's really sorry. Like, I think that the way it— the way it unraveled, like, I think she thinks it's unfortunate, but I don't think she's like deeply sorry to Sierra. But that's insane, you know? So she's crazy. Like, and so that's why it's like hard to even have a full thought on it, because on the one hand it's like, well, you know what, like, we've berated the girl enough, she has mental health issues, like, how much are we going to do? Like, what do we want to happen? But on the other hand, it's like, do you even understand why people are mad at you? I don't think that she does. Yeah, it's very odd behavior.

00:29:04

Yeah, I guess, I guess she would have to really be like, I'm so sorry I did this to you, but like, I love him. That's really all she could say.

00:29:10

Yeah. And they're not at that place in their relationship. It's very awkward. Word. Now I also have a hot take about like Dara's double—

00:29:16

double homicide.

00:29:18

Yeah, um, she like made this like monolog that everybody I think thought was really powerful. I, I think she just used big words to say what we're all saying, is that he's going to throw you out like trash the second he's done with you.

00:29:27

No, no, he said— she said what everyone has been saying, but she said it in a new, eloquent, an eloquent way.

00:29:32

And so much so that they made her repeat it, and she like embellished a lot the second time. Like it was—

00:29:36

I just know she like did it again amazingly.

00:29:38

Again, I feel like that's something we would have like missed in editing. Like, you know, somebody said something but she wasn't there, so they'll redo it again. But like, the fact that they showed it to us twice, like, I just felt awkward.

00:29:46

Like, yeah, I guess they thought that like Dara might have Wes's back because they came on as friends.

00:29:52

Yeah.

00:29:53

And I guess she was just issuing a warning to Amanda. But yeah, everything Dara said just made me feel like Wes loves her.

00:30:01

Oh wow, you're seeing it from a new side.

00:30:02

Yeah, because he cares so much about his Q score and being likable and the ladder and the social climbing, and he just went down 20 pegs to do this.

00:30:09

See, He gave up so many things that we've now been told are so deeply important to him.

00:30:17

For Amanda.

00:30:18

That it's gotta be true love.

00:30:21

So if I'm Amanda, I'm winning.

00:30:23

Flattered.

00:30:24

Winning, 'cause I know she went into the dressing room and she's like, the things that they're saying about you are like really like sort of destabilizing her in terms of like if she can trust him. But like, if I'm her, I'm like, wow, he turned his back on all that he loved.

00:30:34

For me.

00:30:35

For me.

00:30:36

It's beautiful.

00:30:37

And then I did think the FaceTime to Mija was losery. I appreciate the information about the summer, and it's funny because on the one hand Wes is in the room being like, it's gonna get easier from here on out. I think they didn't even show a preview for part 3. I think part 3, we've not seen anything of, we've not heard anything of. I think we have no idea what's— I think beautiful. I think part 3 is like really gonna be explosive, and we have no idea what's coming because they're gonna bring up Mia and the timeline.

00:31:04

Maybe like Amanda doesn't even know.

00:31:05

Yeah, but also they're in Rome together, so they're like, they're rubbed up. Yeah, and she's still rocking that bunny tail that everyone's clowning on her for.

00:31:12

Half bun, half ponytail.

00:31:13

Yeah, whereas like before Westman, of all the women, like, slay, Ellie Bieber!

00:31:17

New hairstyle of the season. Totally.

00:31:21

So everyone's just full of shite.

00:31:22

I thought that I didn't have a season 3 premiere, uh, like, uh, sorry, excuse me, start again. You know what, no, what's next?

00:31:30

You thought you didn't have a season 3 premiere?

00:31:33

I thought that my episode didn't give me premiere for part 3. What? At the end, because I was watching a screener. Oh no, I thought maybe they don't do that.

00:31:39

I was watching a screener too. It said to be continued. A to be continued never gets a— Yes it does. No it doesn't.

00:31:46

Yeah it does.

00:31:47

It did just say to be— Okay, I started watching the screener too because I couldn't deal with commercials. Yeah, okay. You know I don't like to watch my screeners, but the audio was good. Yeah. Um, so to be continued on that. Also, apparently in the city got a little crazy because they showed a scene from October of West and Amanda at like a group lunch or whatever, and she's like having a fun flirty time.

00:32:07

Everyone's still Amanda in this world.

00:32:07

And then she shooting her confessional, and she's talking, you know, in past tense, like, about what was happening in October. And the producer comes on, breaks the fourth wall, it's like, I think we need to speak as of now. And they show the date, it's May 5th, but they're filming this confessional. And so they're like, in this scene, like, did you have feelings for West?

00:32:26

And what did she say?

00:32:27

I, um, I was driving, so, and the light turned green, so she said no. She said no. But like, they're really breaking the fourth wall. I'm like, they have trying to weave, you know, tell the story from a couple different points. Yeah.

00:32:40

And like, I'm sorry to the other castmates who were like hoping to get to be like, you know, understood and heard, but like, I, I can't— I cannot take on new people right now in terms of this group. There's too much left to do. So sorry, Kenny, it'll have to wait.

00:32:55

Or like Yvonne, she's pregnant.

00:32:57

I don't even know who that is.

00:32:58

Lindsay's friend. Oh, when her husband didn't know she went to Y.

00:33:01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yvonne with a Y. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:33:04

The husband didn't know she went.

00:33:07

Yeah.

00:33:07

Um, so that's Summer House recap finale next week. See you there. Second story, Love Island USA introduces a new twist in season 8 premiere that leaves a contestant in tears.

00:33:18

What was the twist?

00:33:19

Like, the bombshells like came and left.

00:33:21

Who cried?

00:33:22

Kenzie.

00:33:23

Did she? She's crazy. Um, okay, so the first episode, you know, it's always tough to like know everyone's names and like it's a lot of information Um, I was really hyped up for the music video that they do in the beginning, cuz I feel like that song like always becomes the song of the summer. That's just the way you make me feel. Ah, ah, that was one last year. And then there was a lot of rumors that this one this year was gonna be, it's the midnight sun kissed, get under the red sky. And they did use that song for somebody's, um, package, but I did not like the song that they chose. Not that that was a gala. Yeah. And I love Sigala. Yeah. There's so many good Sigala ones. I didn't know that one. I didn't like it.

00:33:57

The thing is the person who does music for Love Island, Is a genius. Is the greatest, is a musical genius.

00:34:03

Like I'm always Shazaming.

00:34:04

Hans Zimmer could never. Absolutely. Mozart could never.

00:34:08

Never. My phone is permanently in Shazam during the episodes.

00:34:11

So I'm going to trust that. And as the music video went on, I like the song more and more. I'm gonna trust that it's going to become like, they know what they're, they have the ear.

00:34:19

Okay.

00:34:20

Don't doubt the Love Island sound mixer.

00:34:22

So like there are no early favorites because everyone is like pretty average looking and personality. Like there's no one who stands out.

00:34:29

I like Melanie because she's very beautiful. Melanie.

00:34:32

Is definitely the prettiest. I like Melanie a lot.

00:34:35

And Melanie and Sincere appear to have a sincere relationship, and they stayed with each other. They were—

00:34:40

despite the bombshells towards the end, who, like, I was really surprised, like, didn't stay with one another— Sean and the Olympian.

00:34:47

She walked out.

00:34:48

Yeah, yeah, she—

00:34:49

yeah, she left him.

00:34:50

Yeah, I thought they had, like, amazing chemistry, and I kind of liked them together. I really like her. I think it's, like, a really hard position to be in, to come on a show like this and be, like, in, uh— like, she said she has a disability. I don't know if I would call her, like, an amputee or whatever, but it's, like, such a gallow show, and everyone's so obsessed with like looks and hot bombshell. So I think she— and she also has an amazing personality.

00:35:12

Yeah, she's bursting with personality and confidence.

00:35:15

That she's, she's probably like an early favorite for me. And I was disappointed that she didn't choose Sean.

00:35:19

I know. Let's talk about Sean, the police officer who wants to spit in your mouth.

00:35:22

Yeah, so it was very— you guys, when he said he likes to—

00:35:27

and you know what, seriously, call the mayor.

00:35:28

I really need to be more careful of my digital footprint that I'm leaving behind because like I'm literally someone's mother. But like when he said he likes to fuck girls from the back and spit in their mouth, and he's someone's father, and a police officer. Oh right, oh, and he also said he was a police officer for 6 years even though we know it was only 1 year because the mayor blew up his spot. Um, look, I just about died when they started making out and like they were opening the door and like you would have to kiss the person who was outside the door, but sometimes there was 3 girls and they were all just like swapping. Like I actually felt like I was watching a pornography. Like it was insane. And I guess the Love Island UK version they say is like much cleaner. Um, and it's probably my least favorite part of the show. I don't know if that makes me like a prude and nobody agrees me, but like, it's really too much. Like, the ASMR kissing, like, I could throw up. I feel like I'm watching a horror movie sometimes.

00:36:10

I cover my eyes.

00:36:11

It's really disgusting, and it doesn't serve the sh—

00:36:14

like, I don't know what purpose it serves in the plot. Like, I really wish they would stop doing that.

00:36:18

I know, last season it was my least favorite part, and then the challenges when they were like humping— this season they decided to kick it up a notch. They said more kissing, more saliva, more partners, more, more, more.

00:36:28

Like, I, I find it gross.

00:36:29

At least with like the, the body, um, the heart rate challenge. That's like the— at least that's one, and I hated challenge. At that point, the, the villagers like know each other. It's funny. Everyone looks forward to it. I can excuse a little bit of raunchiness, but like night one out of the gate, like multiple partner swapping slide, but like kissing as if they're in like a, a romantic movie.

00:36:50

Like romantic movie?

00:36:51

A pornographic movie? No, but like they're kissing like it's like you're back for more.

00:36:55

It's like— I just want to say, like, what? Going into a kiss with your tongue already out is disgusting. Like, tongues are supposed to come out once the kiss has begun. Like, literally, if I ever saw someone kiss me and they come at me, their tongue's already out of their mouth, like, are you a dog? Are you a dog?

00:37:08

Also, remember last season, like, Bella wasn't kissing. She did cheek kisses. I thought that was so cute. I would have, like, liked for this season to have, like, more people like that who are like, I'll give you a peck and let's take it from there. Um, but they obviously felt the opposite. Like, they're never doing it again.

00:37:23

They got bigger sluts and whores. Like, It's insane. I'm sorry, like, not to be like patronizing, like I'm better than you. Like, I am— I would never fucking do that. And it's like, are your parents watching this show?

00:37:33

No. And it's like, you actually can apply for the show, like, it just— if you're looking for love and fame in earnest, because you also like have to make out with 5 people a day.

00:37:42

No. And what's crazy, actually, I was seeing this— what show was I just— oh, I was watching Off Campus, where it's like these people are all actors, but you're also like porn stars. Like, you do porn on television. Like, you That's porn star. And so it's like, yeah, you're a nursing student, but you're also like a low-key porn star. Yeah.

00:37:58

It's insane. Yeah. There's really no going back to your job after this show.

00:38:01

So I just like, I hate that part of the show. I really do. I do think it ruins it.

00:38:03

And I thought it was just gonna be like one challenge of like, which sex position do you like? And then there was multiples.

00:38:08

Oh, and the episode was so long. I do feel like they could have cut some stuff. Like, are you a dog, cat, or plant person?

00:38:14

Yeah.

00:38:15

Even though Casey, when he like, nobody, nobody was behind his door and then he got like coupled up, like two losers getting coupled up together, even though I kind of like them. Um, he had such a funny—

00:38:25

they stood by each other.

00:38:26

Yeah. And he had a very funny take after it. He was like, I feel like I lost everyone with the plants. Like, he was really making me laugh.

00:38:31

Yeah, I would have went to every door that I thought would be the least popular with no one behind, so I didn't have to kiss anyone.

00:38:38

But it's also like Love Island is a humiliation.

00:38:40

Like, any guy would know, like, the dog— if you want to kiss multiples, like, go to the dog door.

00:38:44

But the show was literally a humiliation ritual because what do you mean no one was behind your door? Like, I would be— I would never recover from that.

00:38:51

Yeah, it's better when— like, go on. It's better when it happened to a guy though. Of course. Yeah, but he wound— winds up— oh, and then Anaya has to be like discarded when there's two for one.

00:39:02

Yeah, two losers together. It's like nobody wanted them, and it's like, that's not sexy. That's not a good way to start a relationship.

00:39:09

No, but they like each other.

00:39:10

Kissing, it's like you— it's too much, cuz then when people do kiss and like, I guess they like are actually in love I was like, how are we supposed to know?

00:39:18

No, I know. And like, it's a big deal to like kiss outside of a challenge, I guess. Like, that's how Islanders figure it. It's like everyone kisses in a challenge, but like, did you kiss outside of a challenge?

00:39:28

Got it.

00:39:29

And some people were kissing outside of challenge.

00:39:31

Yes, they were. Like when they opened the door, they would like kiss each other.

00:39:33

Yeah, yeah. I didn't get to the first night yet. They were just like talking about breakfast. Seriously, fuck breakfast in the villa. They make it— oh great, such a great ordeal. And I guess like one season someone did— the men made breakfast for the women, the viewers loved it. And now it's like, what do you want for breakfast? Like, I just— stop.

00:39:49

And it's like not fair that, that the islanders sleep on the main floor and the girls have to get dressed on the top floor. They have to like walk upstairs after they wake up, whereas like the guys get dressed right there. The glam room should be on the same floor as the kitchen and the bedrooms.

00:40:03

Why?

00:40:04

Just like, we have to go up and downstairs when you're like getting dressed and doing your makeup.

00:40:08

These are like some of the fittest people on—

00:40:09

no, no, the men should have to walk upstairs to like—

00:40:11

they don't have a room like that. The showers— the showers are for everyone.

00:40:15

Oh, are they co-ed?

00:40:16

Yeah, that's nuts. Yeah, but no, having like a little, like, you know, treehouse where that's a glam room, like, I— yes, please give me my privacy.

00:40:24

Oh, I'm sorry to tell you this, but like, big loser is Charlie's brother. Yeah, like, he was just giving nothing. Like, bad.

00:40:31

Yeah, he didn't give a lot, but I wouldn't say like a lot.

00:40:34

It's not a good group.

00:40:35

Yeah, a lot of people gave— like, everyone gave nothing. Yeah, I would say some of the guys in their packages that came off as like kind of like good quality.

00:40:42

Yeah, it wasn't like a lot of assholes.

00:40:44

Yeah, it seems like people looking for love, people who like love their mothers and like, you know, respect women.

00:40:49

What part did you get up to? They all stepped on the red and the green.

00:40:52

Yes, and then they got in their couples, and then I saw a conversation between Sincere and Melanie where they both like the Eagles and she bleeds green, and they were excited about that.

00:41:01

You saw the red and the green?

00:41:02

No, I read about it.

00:41:04

Oh, okay. So what— let me just tell you what happens at the end of the episode. So if you like your couple, there's a door, you can't see your boyfriend, um, but if you want to stay in the couple, you st— you step on green, and if you want to leave the couple, you step on red. So Casey and Sincere and Mel— no, Melanie and Sincere and Casey and Anaya both stayed with one another. Sean stayed but Bea left.

00:41:26

Um, what's Zach?

00:41:27

Zach left, and what's her name, crazy name?

00:41:30

Kenzie stayed.

00:41:30

Kenzie stayed. And then who's the other couple?

00:41:32

Bryce and Trin.

00:41:34

Oh, did they? Okay, um, so then the new bombshells came and nobody sees the results yet. The bombshells came and made out with the people who wanted to leave the relationships and then like took the people who with them and went somewhere and the episode ended.

00:41:47

Yeah, um, the bombshell, the girl looks beautiful, gorgeous. The boy, I thought that boy was the one who— Gabriel, who got fired.

00:41:55

Yeah, no, he's Brazilian and he's extremely hot.

00:41:58

I saw like a really on-point tweet last night about this.

00:42:02

Like, I just want to say the best part of watching Love Island is reading the tweets. People are funny.

00:42:05

It is true. Um, it said production had a whole year to cast and do their checks, but waiting till cast reveal to remove people because of public opinion? Like, stand on business and keep the cast you casted. These strange fans are so annoying. It's true, you had a year.

00:42:20

No, you obviously, you do a lot of like extensive—

00:42:21

you spend time with— if you're going to put someone as an OG villager, like, you get to know their personality. Are they a good person? Are they a bad person? So like, stand on business. Like, that's who you cast. And like, if they've made a mistake in their past— I'm done having this conversation because it is what it is. Like, you've done something, you're getting fired, good bye. I'm not here to like argue with Peacock and be like, you should like, you know, stand behind the people that you cast and not like throw them to the fucking wolves over something that they once did when they're clearly not a bad person, or you wouldn't have cast them, right? That's how I feel. Obviously I've said that before. I'm not going to— every time someone drops like Vi, like, I'm just saying goodbye. Like, I obviously— this is how they choose to conduct their business. I think it's stupid. Moving on.

00:43:00

Yeah. Um, Melanie in her package had like a really good— she's she's like, about— did you hear what she said about like girls girls? She's like, when I hear someone say she's a girls girl, I like run the other way.

00:43:09

Yeah, you should just— you don't have to say, you should just be it.

00:43:11

Yeah. Um, so we'll see. Like, it's too soon to tell. Um, the group isn't giving me like insane vibes one way or the other. It's kind of all like very mid.

00:43:20

But it's— and Sean is a father. Yes.

00:43:23

Did I say that? Bea said it was a red flag. She would never date someone in the real world with— and that might be part of the reason why she stepped on the red. Oh yeah, she had said that to the girls, being like, she would like— if somebody was— and like, I didn't like the way the girls were saying it. They were like, when they were doing their like getting ready for bed, they were like, hey, like, what do you think? Like, he has a kid. And she was like, red flag. Like, a red flag to be a father? Like, yeah, it could be like a like or a dislike.

00:43:45

No, it's not like he like abandoned his child. He actually like moved across the country, like got a job there, like to just be there for his child.

00:43:51

Giving Jalen—

00:43:53

like, in terms of just like stand-up guy, he is. But there is something—

00:43:56

the bar is in hell. All the girls were like, you moved like to be with your son? That's amazing. It's like if a mom did that, you'd be like, yeah, bitch, move.

00:44:02

Well, you don't have to move because they're with you.

00:44:03

No, like, you know what I mean? Like, the bars, they're like, you did.

00:44:06

Oh my God, I thought that like— okay, so the bars in hell, I thought it was like, no, I love that he did it. So I did the right thing. Correct. But he could have done the wrong thing. Yeah, right. And been like, I don't see my kid a lot, right? They're across the country.

00:44:16

Um, so she said it was like a red flag and that if somebody, you know, in the real world had a son, like, she would never even entertain, which I just thought was like kind of mean.

00:44:23

Yeah, I agree.

00:44:25

And now I understand why, like, Huda didn't tell anyone that she had a kid. Like, people are so fucking mean.

00:44:28

She like pulled the wool over everyone's eyes and then like made this— that's not a good Jared Bynes, his stepdad, he didn't even know.

00:44:33

Yeah, that's not a good way to do it either.

00:44:34

No, no, it's good, but you know what, like, then she's not right for him if, like, she can't possibly contemplate, like, dating someone with a child. She's not right for him. Um, I do think, like, leaving the forces to do Love Island is really crazy.

00:44:48

It's a nutty thing to do, and I understand, like, why the mayor felt like he needed to say something about it, and, like, he felt personally victimized by love.

00:44:54

And I didn't realize, like, there are a lot of, like, threats to to police forces, you know, budget cuts, etc. Um, I didn't realize like the police force is up against Love Island as well.

00:45:06

Just add it to the list.

00:45:07

But it makes sense, they're like fit, you know, looking for love.

00:45:11

The pool of people who are eligible for the police force while also being eligible for Love Island USA is like—

00:45:16

they're kind of picking from the same pool. Yeah, of like, of like young, fit males mostly.

00:45:22

Yeah.

00:51:21

Thank you, Sasha Turk.

00:51:22

You're welcome.

00:51:23

Our next story, a little movie casting news: Sasha Peters will star as Rosemary Kennedy in the tragic story of JFK KFK's sister. So Rosemary Kennedy is getting the biopic treatment starring Sasha Peters.

00:51:38

Rosemary Kennedy is one of the craziest stories like of our time, um, so it's sort of ripe for a biopic. Sasha Peters feels like such a random casting just because like we know her as A. Yeah, but she's like a talented, competent actress and I'm sure she'll be great.

00:51:53

I don't know why it feels right, like seeing the pictures side by side, like I can say see it, there's no one who like immediately comes to mind for Rosemary. And I'm just like, I like Sasha Peters, like put her in, coach.

00:52:05

Like it's not Anne Hathaway, you know? Yeah, like it's something new. Yeah, it feels random, but she is like an— a competent actress. And so yeah, like do something new, do something different. I agree, I have no problems with this. It just feels random.

00:52:15

For those who don't know, Rosemary Kennedy was the sister of President John F. Kennedy and Senators Robert F. and Ted Kennedy. As a child, she reportedly exhibited developmental delays, and in her young adult years is said to have developed behavioral issues. In response, the family patriarch Joseph Kennedy Sr. arranged a lobotomy on her when she was 23 years old, a procedure which left her permanently incapacitated. She spent most of the rest of her life being cared for at an institution in Wisconsin, and she was isolated from family and siblings for long periods of time. She died from natural causes in 2005 at age 86.

00:52:48

It's such a terrible story. They literally removed a whole chunk of her brain. Um, and like now knowing what we know, like what were her behavioral issues? Was she like autistic? Like, you know what I mean? Like, is there something now that we know like what she would've been considered?

00:53:01

I don't know. Uh, like behavioral issues is just so, it's general. Yeah. General and like developmental delays could really be anything.

00:53:07

But she wasn't crawling. Like what was it? You know?

00:53:09

No, she was 23 years old.

00:53:11

No, but I, but when you say developmental delays, like it could mean a million things.

00:53:14

She could have been like acting out. I don't know.

00:53:16

Right. It's such a —like, it's such a dark corner of the Kennedy family history.

00:53:20

Yeah, it comes up a lot. Like, people always talk about it. I think people only really know that, you know, she was, uh, lively. Yeah, like, overexcited 23-year-old, and then she had a lobotomy, and then she was at her parents' like behest. Yeah, and then she was incapacitated for the rest of her life and disabled.

00:53:37

Yeah, it's, it's sort of like a shit stain on the Kennedy family legacy. It's like— and they kept her hidden. Like, it's just a really dark. I don't know a ton about it. Like, actually, I will see this movie, but, um, I think people bring it up a lot too, cuz it's also, um, when they talk about the Kennedy curse, they, they believe that this is the origin.

00:53:54

Oh, I didn't know that. That's what I've heard.

00:53:57

I thought people talked about it a lot, cuz like, you know, when, whenever we're talking about like, you know how, um, like, like, lobotomies are one of those things, like hysteria, like where you would remove a woman's, uh, uterus cuz they thought she had hysteria. Like one of those things that you used to do medically that now we're insane. Like like people— lobotomy used to be like a recommended surgery where you would literally cut out a piece of a person's brain.

00:54:16

You would drill into someone's skull. Yes. Yeah. And now we're like, are you dumb? Yeah.

00:54:20

But like at the time it was widely considered like a leading advanced—

00:54:23

Yeah. Like smart wealthy people doing it. Right. Doctors recommending it.

00:54:29

So I feel like whenever I hear about Rosemary Kennedy, it's in that context. Yeah.

00:54:32

Of like the lobotomy being cited as something that, you know, at the time was cutting edge and now is barbaric. Mm-hmm. And then it of course makes you think about whatever we're doing right now that might seem cutting edge right now that history will remember as barbaric.

00:54:45

So Sasha Peters being cast, like, okay, I'm down. I like it. Me too. Where, who, what, when, where, why, how in the movie? Is it a Netflix? Like, what is it?

00:54:53

So here's what it is. Mike Medavoy, who's, uh, a director known for Black Swan and Shutter Island, is helping shepherd the film, which will be written and directed by Cory Todd Phillips. Shutter Island.

00:55:05

It's getting the Shutter Island. Sasha Peters.

00:55:06

Yeah. And Adrian Speckert, whose scripts to date have included Under Fire starring Dylan Sprouse and Foster starring Ron Perlman.

00:55:14

Oh, hey, Dylan Sprouse! But it doesn't say—

00:55:17

maybe it's going to be like a theatrical release. According to the team, the contained thriller will, quote, dramatize Rosemary Kennedy's struggle with mental health, the devastating decision by her father to subject her to a lobotomy at age 23, and the long-lasting consequences of that choice. The film is based on an article in All That's Interesting called Rosemary Kennedy, JFK's sister who was lobotomized and locked away.

00:55:40

I imagine the family's not thrilled. They didn't even like when that Ryan Murphy thing came out, which was largely— yeah, it was largely flattering. So, uh, gird your loins.

00:55:48

Yeah, Peters said of the role, Rosemary's story has been told in fragments. What drew me to this project is how it explores her as a person, not a symbol, but a fully realized human being with dreams and vulnerabilities.

00:55:58

Stop, it's like such a sad story.

00:56:00

The director said this isn't just a historical biopic, It's a psychological journey told through Rosemary's eyes, one that challenges the audience to reckon with how we define agency, dignity, and identity. Yeah, I'm sat. Yeah, me too. I'll give it 5 sats down.

00:56:15

Yeah, agreed. Are you ready for our fourth story?

00:56:20

Kylie Jenner boards her private jet with her kids and her friends for a lavish Turks and Caicos vacation for Kylie Cosmetics.

00:56:27

So like I said, I love that this is like Kylie's attempt at like, you know, getting in the mix with, you know, brand trips and influencers. Like, I guess all of her friends, like, do have a million TikTok followers, so it's like, why would I take some randoms when I could take my friends? Um, so it's basically just like a girls trip with Stormi on the company card, and I love that.

00:56:43

I love that too. We know she loves Turks and Caicos. She was actually raving about Turks and Caicos with Jake Shane. Um, so this is just like fun and flirty. I will say, like, for me, if I'm like head of comms at Kylie Cosmetics Kylie Cosmetics, like, I don't know that this is it.

00:56:59

It's not, not at all. I would have liked to see—

00:57:02

if we're really trying to like highlight Kylie Cosmetics, show the product, because they are like watermelon sugar lip balm that's coming out— I think she should have done it with all her sisters.

00:57:12

Yeah, no, this feels like they're getting in the game that everyone plays, and this is the game that you have to play when you're a celebrity-founded brand. Like, you have to do the events, you have to host influencers, you have to make TikToks, you have to do brand trips.

00:57:21

And this is like her getting involved in like her own way, and they did it 10 years ago. They're also throwing flashbacks to, uh, pictures from the time that they did it with friends, which was also really fun when they did it then. But it's giving me a little bit like King Kylie nostalgia, like redoing what was once iconic and like not a new idea.

00:57:37

Yeah, I don't know what's right and what's next for Kylie Cosmetics because it does feel like this brand that's stuck in 2016. They release new products quite frequently, and their products are like, you know, they just have a new lip peptide, like they're on trend, but it feels like Klairs makeup. I think they need a total rebrand. Um, I feel like it should just be called like Kylie, not even Kylie Cosmetics. It's just like, I don't know what's right for the brand. I don't think that it's this. I don't think this is going to, you know, make a big— yeah. But I was looking at the brand's Instagram yesterday. They have 24 million followers. Like, it's insane. And they really have no impact on the industry, like, at all. Like, this trip, like, is not doing anything.

00:58:13

Yeah, maybe she was just taking a trip with her friends and was like, let's make it a moment for Kylie Cosmetics. They need a little bump.

00:58:18

No, she did like this room tour when she like went to Sasha's room and showed what was on the bed. Like, that's—

00:58:22

no, and then she ends it and she's like, so that's everyone's rooms. She showed us It's like 1.5 rooms. No, like that's what they do.

00:58:27

You deck out people's rooms on brand trips. Like everyone gets like a free laptop with their name on it and a robe and product. And like comparatively, like everyone got like a couple lipsticks and a water bottle.

00:58:36

Like it also feels like when I'm watching the content from this trip, like they're all on like an inside joke that like I'm on the outside of, like they're so like best friends. Yes. That like as an outsider, it's hard to feel like you're there and you're participating cuz they're just like joking and, and saying half sentences and laughing at each other.

00:58:54

And like that's the success of a brand trip is like everybody shares everything and you feel like you're there and it's like, oh my who's rooming with who, like what's the drama?

00:58:59

There's really none of that, you know? I— and everyone's like a little tipsy and they're like just like having fun and I'm like, I'm happy for you guys, but like what do I have to do with this? Yeah, it's just not—

00:59:07

I don't— it's not giving.

00:59:09

No, I mean, the thing is Kylie doesn't have to do stuff like that.

00:59:12

Like I know that not— it's not for everyone doing the TikTok influencer brand trip, so like don't, don't do it. But now like doing your own version of it just sort of highlights how like you refuse to sort of play the game. Mhm.

00:59:22

And it's like, do literally anything else. Yeah, like, where's Timothée? You could have been there with Timothée. Yeah, that would be like—

00:59:28

they should host like— they should actually host like an NBA watch party, like something, something that feels personal to Kylie. Like, this just feels so like, okay, she likes Turks and Caicos, huh? And her friends. Yeah, and her mom.

00:59:38

And it's just like, it's been done, and it's not like doing much for me. But like, I, I love to see my girl happy.

00:59:43

She do like a NYX palette, like something blues and oranges.

00:59:47

Yay, he'd love it. Yes. No, I—

00:59:49

it's just like, even though that is so 20 2016, but the brand is like really stuck in that like ColourPop 2016 era.

00:59:54

I guess I, I can't see the brand with like clear vision because I love it. Yeah, I still buy it.

01:00:01

I buy it too. The Skin Tint is the best thing.

01:00:04

That's what they were saying when everyone was saying like, what's your favorite product on the video? Like, Iris and Kylie were like, the Skin Tint. I wear the Skin Tint in the summer.

01:00:11

I just will say, if anyone in product development is listening, it's like so not transfer-proof. It ends up on all my clothes. Like, when— if I were to go like this, would just be— it's like a little oily, and I set. But it's such a good, like, summery, full coverage, light skin tint.

01:00:24

Oh, I— maybe I should try it because I was telling you this, Claudia, but when I went to the— I was at the dermatologist the other day, and she was looking at my skin. She's like, you're like a little bit red. I'm like, yeah, no, that's like me. If you guys ever like watch vlogs or anything, if I'm ever like not wearing makeup, like, my skin is very red. I've always said I've had like light rosacea, and she was like, do you want anything for that? And I'm like, is that an option to like not be red all the time? And she was like, yeah, like I have a topical cream. It's like prescription trade, it's prescription trade, but it's not like too strong. It's like made of some compound or whatever. And so she gave it to me and like I'm gonna start using it. It's the kind of strong, so I use it like every other day right now.

01:00:59

But like, it was just shocking to Jackie like that there was a solution for this. Like she just thought it was like, no, no, there's something that you just like live with.

01:01:05

And it doesn't bother me. And like, I, once I put my makeup on, like you would really never know. But I do wind up wearing like heavier foundations, a skin tint. I wouldn't be a candidate.

01:01:12

You are, it's very coverage.

01:01:14

You should check it out. But now that like I have my new cream, I feel like— the world is your oyster. That scene in House Bunny when she talks about her magic cream, yeah, and the azithromycin, and like how it just made her so itchy but her skin was glowing.

01:01:24

Yeah, I also felt like Mikaela, like, cream, and this cream abused me, like, or whatever she said.

01:01:33

If I kept going back to the cream that was hurting me, right?

01:01:35

The cream that was hurting me, that's what she said.

01:01:39

So I'll keep you guys posted on my cream journey.

01:01:41

I just thought that— check out the skin tint, it's really good. I will, but only once the cream Sets in.

01:01:45

Yeah. Next, fifth and final story. Pink is hosting the 2026 Tony Awards and she's promising acrobatic moments. Interesting.

01:01:55

I just saw her on Today, uh, CBS Morning. Oh yeah, it was Gayle King. Um, she was saying that she's like taking a little bit of a step back from work to prioritize her daughter who is obsessed with being on Broadway. Yes. And so I guess this is Pink like sort of using her nepo to like get in with the Broadway world.

01:02:13

Well, she said it was almost an immediate yes when she was asked but she had to get permission from Willow because it's her lane and I try and stay out of her lane. That's cute. But like the girl was like, can I come? Oh, that's sweet. And so Pink was like, yeah, I think I got seats.

01:02:27

So what she was saying on Gayle King was that, 'cause Gayle was like, well, is your daughter any good? Gayle was kind of being nuts. I respected the question though, because Pink was like, there's nothing I won't do for my daughter. And Gayle was like, well, of course, but like, is she good? And Pink was like, yes. And if she wasn't, like, I probably wouldn't have encouraged her to do it. And Gayle was like, well, how would you tell your daughter that she stinks? Like, Gayle was being really nutty.

01:02:53

Um, I mean, they're shifting things up at CBS, like, news. She's trying to keep it on top of things.

01:02:58

So Pink was like emulating how she would have had that conversation. Like, it was seriously, like, it was funny. And I guess it's a good question. I'm sure everybody just asks Pink the same questions. But I just wanted to note, like, Gayle, I see you. You're insane. I also saw Gayle on Call Her Daddy, like, also, like, telling crazy stories. I feel like Gayle sort of— she's just sort of a wallflower. She's like Oprah's friend, but there's— that's what you think. Yeah, there's so much there. There.

01:03:19

Yeah, she was cracking me up. She's sort of like an open book.

01:03:22

Yeah, but you can't put her in a box. Correct. Like most great women.

01:03:25

Like most great women. It's true. Yeah. And Pink as well. She said there'll be acrobatics at the Tony Awards. Maybe I'll be watching.

01:03:31

I just so don't see like the Tonys as a Pink space, but like she's so Tony, you know? She's so Broadway, like theatrical.

01:03:37

And I feel like she's really liked?

01:03:40

She's probably one of the most well-liked celebrities. She's so unoffensive. She doesn't have beef with one person, although I think she has beef with Taylor.

01:03:49

Um, but she's— but it's funny because when the girls were girling back in the day, like, she was the bad seed. Yeah. And it's like, you would think like Jessica Simpson has no haters, and now all those girls like seem wackadoodle, and Pink is the sober one.

01:04:02

What's crazy was that Pink was like the alt one with short hair and like kind of goth. I mean, while she's married 100 years, she's like—

01:04:07

she's like rebel.

01:04:08

Rebel. Yeah, right. No, like, uh, goth. And she's like low-key a tradwife.

01:04:14

Like, she's married, she winds up being like the most brand-safe, stable, like, home life. Yeah, no divorces. Don't call her a tradwife, she won't like that.

01:04:21

No, no, I was kidding. But you know what I mean? She's very traditional, like her, her home life.

01:04:24

But she's still like that radical little rebel. Yeah, but she just does it in a way where it's like, that's our radical little rebel and we love her. I love her. Everybody loves her. It's True. So that's cool space that she's carved out for pink self. For pink self.
