Good morning, girlies!

00:00:05

It's The Toast.

00:00:08

It's Jackson, Claude, and we're your hosts. It's your favorite show, the fast 5 things you need to know.

00:00:18

We'll start your day off swirly.

00:00:21

It's The Toast. I sound amazing.

00:00:25

Welcome back to The Toast and happy Tuesday, the first Tuesday in May. I'm your host, Turdy Rivers, wearing my finest leggings to criticize all the high fashion looks at last night's Met Gala. And I'm joined by my barrel jean-wearing sister Jacqueline Follet, former editor of Runway Paris.

00:00:41

Jert Rivers.

00:00:43

Jert and Turd Rivers. Like, everyone's so afraid. I love that, like, fashion police these days is like, oh, I don't love her shoe. Yeah, 7 out of 10.

00:00:52

Would have paired it with a different shoe.

00:00:55

Me. 'Ugly dress, ugly girl.' Like, I'm here to clock in, I'm here to say the things that people won't say, even though there wasn't anything like obscenely offensive.

00:01:03

Yeah, the— I think the general tone is going to be like, everyone looked beautiful, the place looked great. The place looked great, actually. The carpet was beautiful.

00:01:10

Wedding inspo. Like those lavender, um, like ceiling flower murals. It was really quite beautiful.

00:01:17

I saw a tweet that was like, the carpet looked like a Jewish wedding at Cipriani.

00:01:21

Yes, and it did in a beautiful way. Meghella is our first story. We'll try and just continue it to that story.

00:01:28

I'm actually like, I'm not being confined to the Fast Five today, you know? Like, I'm gonna talk about the things that we need to talk about, whether that in total is 5 or 1,000. It is what it is. You just can't really put us in a box on the first Tuesday in May.

00:01:45

And before we dive into like all the Tuesday responsibilities, I have a couple of things I just need to chat with you about. PFFC, if you will.

00:01:51

Okay.

00:01:52

The first is that I honestly can't believe it took me almost a year of being a mom to finally pull my back out. Like floor play this morning. Oh my God, I was doing this dumb thing that I saw on TikTok. I can't, I like, I know how it sounds and I throw out my back. I'm in so much pain. I had to cancel, you know, I'm trying to do two workouts, two workouts a week. And my first one, I'm, I feel like this might be the first week I don't make the two. My back is killing me. I have three icy hots on my back.

00:02:14

Like seriously, who's young?

00:02:16

Floor play.

00:02:17

Only Tuesday.

00:02:18

Like, I will be an absent mother because I cannot do floor play. I just can't. Like, I can't get on the floor. And look, the one time I get on the floor, I throw out my back.

00:02:26

Yeah, yeah, that's okay, that's okay.

00:02:30

Like, I always sit in the rocking chair while, like, Ben does the floor play and I just watch, you know? I'm like one of those moms who, like, wraps herself up in a robe and just watches.

00:02:37

Yeah, well, I once saw— and this is so true— it's like the— not that Ruby's a toddler, but like the physical years, let's say, like 1 and up, those are for the dad.

00:02:45

Agreed.

00:02:45

The baby years are for the mom, cuz when you have a baby, there's only so much a dad can do. Like, the mom has to do it. But like, when things start getting physical, dad, clock in. It's your time to shine.

00:02:55

Yeah, I was really doing too much. I'm so annoyed. Like, having your back out while you're trying to like run a business, be a present mother, like play mahjong— so fucking annoying.

00:03:03

Yeah, yeah, especially those mahjong chairs, for sure.

00:03:07

Yeah, that's the first thing I wanted to tell you about.

00:03:08

The second— I'm sorry, you're foolish lame, Turdy.

00:03:10

Thank you. The second thing I think you'll find interesting— so, you know, the Knicks are in the playoffs.

00:03:14

I do know. And I know because fucking Timothée Chalamet wasn't at the Met Gala. That's how I know.

00:03:19

And right, and Ben Stiller wore like the ugliest orange tie to like match his wife's blue dress in Knicks colors and then left. I think he literally went to the carpet and left. I saw him getting into a car going to the Knicks game.

00:03:27

So Timothée could have.

00:03:28

Absolutely.

00:03:29

And if he wanted to, he would have.

00:03:31

But I was watching, and so we're playing Philly, which is just like a— it's a heated rivalry because it's you know, 1 hour away, you know, dueling cities, whatever. And Karl-Anthony Towns actually has like a really long, I'm not sure of like the route, but huge beef with Joel Embiid from the other team. So it's kind of tense. Joel and Joel Embiid. So he has this like longstanding beef with Karl-Anthony Towns, Jordan Woods's fiancé. Uh-oh. And so we knew it was just gonna be heated.

00:03:57

He's team Khloé.

00:03:59

Something like that.

00:03:59

He's team Khloé.

00:04:00

He's team Tristan. I don't know like where the beef originated, but everyone just knew this was gonna be like, you know, there was gonna be like some scuffles on the court. Jackie, last night there was an all-out brawl. I couldn't believe what I was watching when I saw the video. I fell asleep in the middle of the game, obviously. Jackie, and you know who it comes back to, you're going to crack up. You know who's on the Sixers?

00:04:20

Danilo Gallinari?

00:04:22

No, close. Actually, not close at all.

00:04:24

Here, I'll give you a clue.

00:04:25

I'll give you a clue. Close.

00:04:26

I'll give you a clue. Ben Simmons. Cookies?

00:04:28

Yes, cookies.

00:04:29

That the clue?

00:04:30

That was the clue. Jackie, I am And you know, I can't get involved in sports because I'm such an empath, because I'm literally calling for Ben Simmons to be expelled from the league. Jackie, he was on the floor with Jordan Woods' fiancé in a headlock choking him. He was literally— Karl-Anthony Towns was on the floor on his stomach. He was tapping out like he was in a wrestling match. He was like, get off of me, being choked by Ben Simmons. Like, seriously, I'm calling. I can't support this league if they don't take action. You can't choke someone. Like, of course, you know, the guys get into it, you know, it's whatever, it's a rivalry. I'm sorry, putting someone in a headlock and choking them— I— and obviously his sister like makes him unfavorable to me, and already he was already off to a bad start.

00:05:09

His sister taught him that.

00:05:11

Yes, you guys, I— not to be like a narc and take it so seriously, I couldn't believe what I was watching, and I feel like there has to be consequences. And I heard he's not even that good, so it won't affect the team anyway.

00:05:20

Yeah, can you believe—

00:05:22

if I showed you this video, you wouldn't believe what you were seeing. It's so Unacceptable.

00:05:26

So then what happened?

00:05:27

I don't know, I was asleep and I only saw the clip on Bleacher Report. But like, I hope— I mean, sure, Jordan Woods was freaking out.

00:05:33

Like, her man is literally being choked by Kendall's man.

00:05:36

Kendall's man, who's like a big loser. He like— the comments were like, where was this energy like for the game? You know, like, he doesn't play, he doesn't shoot, he doesn't score. But like, you're over here choking Karl-Anthony Towns.

00:05:47

On behalf of Joel?

00:05:48

I don't know if it was on behalf. I don't know like how we got to that place. But like, you know, scuffles happen, you know, they shove, it's like not a big deal. This, unlike some other shit I've ever seen— that's also why I can't watch hockey.

00:06:00

Like, oh yeah, but at least hockey, that's hockey, you know? You know what you're getting.

00:06:05

Yeah, so I don't watch it, but as like, as an empath, I, I really— I personally, I want to see some consequences.

00:06:12

Maybe— did he get suspended? Well, he doesn't play, so they couldn't take him out of the game.

00:06:16

Yeah, it wouldn't really affect anything. It might actually only help the Sixers if they got him off the team. I just think it was crazy. That was the second thing I wanted to say. The third thing I wanted to say before my PFFB checklist has been officially checked off, is I had to cancel a lot of things today cuz my back was thrown out, but I didn't cancel one because I have a huge, huge thing happening this, uh, this afternoon.

00:06:35

Crack?

00:06:36

Crazier.

00:06:37

Meth?

00:06:38

It's probably not crazier than meth.

00:06:40

Okay.

00:06:42

I'm filming my historical TikTok with my friend Johnny who makes those like New York videos. We're doing it in the park.

00:06:47

I can't wait. I'm actually, I'm in historical New York cuz I'm reading The It Girl. We're recording for Redheads today.

00:06:53

Did you finish it?

00:06:54

No, and let me tell you, this is the tightest I've ever been. I'm literally walking— say that. Claudia, we're recording today at 4 o'clock and I'm 72% done. I'm walking around my house with my phone in my pocket playing the book. Like, I'm in a rough spot.

00:07:09

That makes me sad because I feel like you're not really experiencing the book like a delicious way.

00:07:13

Experience up to 58% last night, and then this morning, now it's crunch time. I'm gonna be driving all day, I'll be listening to the book. I still don't know if I'm gonna finish it. I actually was like either going to move the episode, but like tomorrow's Margot's birthday, and so obviously she's not going to record. And if we don't, like, if we don't record today at 4, like, we're never recording. I was also going to ask you, like, do you want to host it? Like, you've read the book.

00:07:31

Oh, I would love to, but I don't really remember. Like, it's— I had to be so fresh.

00:07:36

Yeah, I know.

00:07:37

And I'm meeting Johnny Murtaugh in the park, you know.

00:07:39

I just feel like that would be like such a shakeup because it's also my book. So not only do I have to have read it, which I, I've never not finished a Redheads book, like, I'm leading the discussion, so I have to like know how it ends.

00:07:48

Um, I will say the end is probably the worst part. Like, she made it 10% too long.

00:07:53

Oh, it's feeling that way. I'm like, I feel like I get the point. Why is this book not over?

00:07:57

Yeah, right. So, and then the end is like kind of silly.

00:08:00

Like, yeah, between like trying to read, trying to get the boys down, like trying to have an eye out for the Met Gala, right? Looking camp right in the eye.

00:08:08

The Met Gala is just so weird cuz we all sit down to watch like a private event. There's no show. Like, we don't— we just watch the carpet.

00:08:15

Red carpet. Yeah.

00:08:17

Which I thought Vogue did a pretty good job. Obviously, like, I, I have notes for the host and I have notes for the production team too. Like, I get that it's very much like an insider event, and I like that they've never like shied away. It's become like a real public A-list Hollywood thing, but it is at its core like a fashion and arts event, and they never stop inviting those people. But I don't know who those people are. So it really would have been helpful if every time they were showing someone on screen, they could have had their name. Even people, they get so dressed up sometimes I didn't recognize them. Like, I was looking at this girl, I was like, I know you, who are you? Who are you? It was Elizabeth DeBecchi, Prince is Diana from the crowd. Like, people just look so vastly different. They really should have had just a little bar at the bottom with the person's name, of course, they were interviewing, or who was being shown on the red carpet. It would have just made the experience so much more organized for me.

00:09:01

Even for celebrities, like, some— first of all, some of them cover their face, so I actually—

00:09:05

yeah, Katy Perry.

00:09:07

Um, and also, yeah, I don't know everyone. Like, who's this Hudson Williams?

00:09:12

Oh, well, like, everyone knows him.

00:09:14

Who the heck is that?

00:09:16

Are you serious? No, yes, Heated Rivalry.

00:09:20

I— oh, I never watched it.

00:09:21

So there's two heated rivalries and two guys from heated rivalries, and everyone hates— no, two guys, like the main— the love interest is, um, Hudson Williams and Connor Story. And everyone—

00:09:33

another one whose picture I saw that I'm like, you look like a baby—

00:09:36

love him, like everyone's obsessed with him, and everyone hates the other one. Like, I actually feel bad for him.

00:09:40

So I never read the book, I didn't watch the show. Are the two of them gay lovers?

00:09:44

Yes. While also being hockey players.

00:09:47

And but is Hudson Williams with Daisy Edgar-Jones? I saw them walking.

00:09:51

I saw them getting out of a Sprinter together. No. So and I think part of the reason why everyone really likes Connor's story is because he's gay. And then Hudson Williams, I think, is engaged to a woman or in like a long-term relationship. So I think people, it was just like he was never going to be loved.

00:10:04

Was he just— was his character bisexual?

00:10:08

No, no, no. They're both gay. Well, they were both like closeted, you know. I never saw the show, but like, as far as I understand, various TikToks. No, I only I have read one. Hockey is like a very catchy tune.

00:10:19

People are so obsessed with this show or movie, like, they're gonna yell at us. They're gonna—

00:10:24

I know, I know. I just feel like I never watched it when it was popular and like now it's too late.

00:10:29

Yeah, it just missed me.

00:10:31

Like, well, they— as far as I know, based on like the clips I've seen in long-form versions, did you see that Cassie left Nate?

00:10:40

She got a motel room.

00:10:41

Did you see that? No, he's not with Daisy Edgar Jones, and I don't know why they— but I also think at some point it's just logistics. Like, a lot of the brands, like, if you go with a brand, you have to go with— like, maybe they wore the same designer. Designer has one Sprinter van for sure.

00:10:57

But they also seem to be holding hands. But yeah, I agree.

00:11:00

Yeah. Um, I have a lot of thoughts, a lot of mean ones, a lot of nice ones, a lot of just critical ones. Um, so we'll get into it in the first story. And we have, you know, scheduling programming update moved. Dear Toasters, till tomorrow, today just feels like It's going to be a long show.

00:11:15

Yeah, it's going to be a long show. Major Met Gala recap. I think we have like total like Met Gala and then like 2 or 3 other need to discuss stories, but I'm not going to like drag it out with some nonsense when we got shit to do.

00:11:26

Yeah, yeah. So are you saying we should just like cut the PFFB and go?

00:11:30

I guess we could cut and go. I've just been like in a flurry. Oh, we went out for dinner last night, which was super cute because the restaurant was near a lawn, so we were able to enjoy our dinner. We have to like, and that's why I need to— where are those McDonald's that have like the play gyms indoors?

00:11:46

Like they are a thing of the past. I think like they're—

00:11:48

it was a notoriously litigious affair, but I can only dine at restaurants that have a little rec area, rec for recreation. And yes, last night we went to dinner for Olivia's husband's birthday.

00:12:01

That's hilarious.

00:12:02

And there was like a little lawn nearby, so everybody was happy.

00:12:06

Patch of grass needed.

00:12:07

Patch of grass needed, a couple sticks, and we're good.

00:12:10

Yeah, right?

00:12:11

Yeah.

00:12:11

No, bring back those like play gems. I know, that was such an iconic— and I do think that they got sued a lot for like kids falling and stuff, so they just got rid of them because they were not worth— oh wait, speaking of sued, like major news that got really buried yesterday, which I'm sure will be a story, is Blake Lively.

00:12:28

Yes.

00:12:28

Oh, not her showing up. I have a lot of thoughts. Let's just dive in.

00:12:31

Okay, without further ado, here are the Fast Five stories that you da do need to know.

00:12:37

And the Fast Five stories that you, that you need to know is brought to you by a brand that I wish that I started. It's Vivrelle, and it's literally the most genius thing ever. It's a members-only club where you can borrow designer bags, jewelry, watches, even diamonds. It's a rotating dream closet that you do not have to commit to. And if you've ever done any like a service before where you borrow stuff, Vivrelle is so much better and so much different because they don't have return dates. You can keep a piece as long as you want. You can swap it monthly once you're ready for something new. And if you really do fall in love with something, you can buy it directly from them and you are gonna get a great price. Great price on the bag, so much better than retail. It's a great way to like— if you're really into designer bags but you don't want to spend the money, a lot of bags are really trendy, so it's like you spend a lot of money and then it's not even cool the next year, or you don't have the space in your New York City apartment, whatever reasoning you might have for wanting to try Viverelle, there's never a bad one.

00:13:22

They have bags obviously, but they have designer accessories, they have jewelry, they have really high-end jewelry brands. The Classic tier, which is $139 a month, is their most popular. The value is just really insane. They refresh their inventory constantly, adding millions of dollars in new pieces. They've got Prada, Fendi, Lauront, Dior, Chanel, we have, I think, one of the best offers out there. It's code TOAST to get your first month of membership completely free. Um, that's code T-O-A-S-T for your first month of VIBRELLE membership. It also allows you to skip the waitlist, because if you just sign up online, there is a bit of a wait, but using our toast— our code TOAST will allow you to skip it. It's VIBRELLE.com. Our code is T-O-A-S-T for the first month free. And I don't know if you guys saw on Instagram, but they launched a new tier. It's called Privé, and it has like Birkins and Kellys. It's coming out soon. So they're just like doing the most over there, operating at an extremely high level. Ben and I actually use Booking.com to find our Mother's Day trip because we needed, like, very specific type of accommodations in terms of, like, pack and plays and a kitchenette. 00:18:25

Thank you, Dotteria.

00:18:28

You're welcome.

00:18:31

Our first story, Met Gala 2026, all the looks on the red carpet. So the stars were out last night in Manhattan for the Met Gala. The theme was costume art exploring.

00:18:46

The theme was fat? No, it fucking wasn't.

00:18:47

I was about to say fashion. I wanna say, but costume art.

00:18:52

I wanna say that, did you find that the Vogue livestream was so high quality? And I feel like, not to be one of those, 'cause like who cares? But people are so skinny. I feel like celebrities, it's hard to really tell how skinny they are unless you're like seeing them in person. But it was so clear, the livestream. Gracie Abrams, like her bones, like I could see everyone's bones. It was honestly like a great advertisement for the camera. It was—

00:19:15

I thought you were gonna say for Ozempic.

00:19:18

Well, that too.

00:19:19

Yeah, no, everyone was really looking— I was not going to say fat, I was going to say fashion is art, but costume art exploring the centrality of the dress body and dress code, dubbed appropriately Fashion is Art. Okay, so it is both. So it was a mixture of either the theme like look naked or look like a piece of famous art.

00:19:35

Yes. So I feel like it's less obvious this year. Like last year I feel was like a real theme, Black Dandyism. Like that is a style of dress.

00:19:43

Yes.

00:19:44

And it was much easier to say like you're in theme, you're not in theme. My criticisms for the looks this year are really not going to be based on the theme because the, the theme is so generic.

00:19:51

Yeah.

00:19:52

And like a lot of people just like wore a corset and you were technically in theme because it's like body Yeah, which is also confusing because it was just Heavenly Bodies.

00:20:00

It had Heavenly Bodies, but so some of it's very broad, looked like a piece of artwork, and some of the references, once you see them, like, are really strong. Or Kendall and Kylie were dressed like famous statues. Yes.

00:20:14

And like, some people literally wore copies of dress— like, Madonna's is literally a painting.

00:20:18

Yes, as is, um Who was the other one? Oh, the one, Rachel Zegler.

00:20:27

Yeah, Lady of Janet.

00:20:28

Yeah, yeah. And Chloe Bennett of, uh, Vogue editor-in-chief.

00:20:33

Is that her name?

00:20:34

No, the first name was right.

00:20:36

What's her last name? Malley. Yeah, Chloe Bennett's the girl from H2O. Like, what's H2O? Clo— Cleo— Nar— the fuck? Sometimes it's insane that, like, you host a pop culture podcast.

00:20:50

What are you talking about? Genuinely? Clar—

00:20:55

Claire—

00:20:55

Nar?

00:20:56

Nar! Claire Nar!

00:20:59

What is that? Is that on TikTok or is that a show?

00:21:03

H2O.

00:21:03

I'll Google it. Let me just—

00:21:07

it's a show. It's called H2O and it was like Australian girls who are mermaids and they can't get wet because if they do they'll turn into mermaids. You don't remember that show? Um, I believe Claire Holt, Matt Kaplan's ex-wife, Is in it?

00:21:20

Clo—

00:21:20

and a girl, Cleo. Is there a girl named—

00:21:23

no, they said Cleo Sartori.

00:21:26

No, no, that's— Cleo is the name of the character who's portrayed by Phoebe Tonkin. Yes, Phoebe Tonkin. Is Claire Holt in that, or am I making that up? Oh God, she's just Australian. She is, she is. And is somebody named Holly Bennett?

00:21:39

I'm seeing Cleo nor the condensation.

00:21:43

No, the condensation. Uh, you don't know that? You never watch that show? No, no, I mean, I live the same childhood.

00:21:51

No, I never watched it.

00:21:53

The condensation.

00:21:56

Okay, back to the Met Gala.

00:21:58

I don't even think Chloe Bennett's in the show. Okay, sorry, go back.

00:22:00

Back to the Met Gala. Chloe, the new editor-in-chief, also looked like a painting. Yes.

00:22:05

Do you want to go through all the looks? Do you want to say some of your favorites?

00:22:08

I have to go through all the looks because I want to talk them through. I have my early favorites, but I feel like maybe I could be persuaded in one way or the other once we like talk everything out. So let's save best and worst. Of course, my favorite.

00:22:18

My worst is going nowhere. Um, and I actually think in years past, I'll have to check old episodes, this person might have been my worst dressed then also. Okay, can I say it or you want me to wait?

00:22:31

Ben Platt?

00:22:33

No, but I actually liked his outfit.

00:22:35

I, you know, he's always my worst dressed even when he's not there.

00:22:38

I know, right?

00:22:39

Um, I don't know what to do with myself because I liked his outfit.

00:22:43

1000%. And I was just— my worst dress is like hands down, not even a question. Like, everybody else can go home. Heidi Klum, like, is she fucking serious? Honestly, she should never be allowed back.

00:22:54

Agreed. She got confused. She thought it was her Halloween party.

00:22:58

She got her dates mixed up. Not a costume. Not the last Sunday in October, but the first Monday in May.

00:23:04

Yeah. Okay, let's go through the Vogue article of all of the looks and discuss our thoughts. So first up here, we have Rihanna and A$AP Rock.

00:23:12

Tacky, and I don't like it. And that pains me because I love Rihanna, um, but I just don't like it. Like, just— I don't know the meaning. I'm just saying, like, esthetics, I just don't like it.

00:23:23

It never occurred to me that I might not like it, you know, because I'm just like, they look amazing. They're fashion personified. Of course it's great. Like, they crushed it. She is the Met Gala. So, um, if I didn't like it, I wouldn't even know because I'm just like, well, this is—

00:23:37

I know. I know, because it's Rihanna.

00:23:39

Yeah. Um, no, and I still feel that way. Like, she's a new mama. Like, anything she wears that she wants to wear— like, you're amazing.

00:23:45

Best dressed.

00:23:47

Um, next we have Emma Chamberlain in Mugler.

00:23:51

I, I don't have that. Um, we're on different lists. What are you on? The Vogue See Every Met Gala 2026 Red Carpet Look from Last Night.

00:23:58

Oh, okay, send me that. I'm on Vogue, the best dressed stars at the—

00:24:01

just go to the Vogue website, go to homepage. It was like the first thing that popped up. And if you guys want to follow along, go to the Vogue website, and I'm— we're going through See Every Met Gala 2026 Red Carpet Look from Last Night.

00:24:10

On my way.

00:24:11

Next up, uh, they had Beyoncé, who I— apparently everybody knew, because on my Instagram I was like, I'm shocked. I picked my head up and I thought I was— I'm like, no way, Beyoncé! But apparently she was like a chair of the event. Everyone was like, you didn't know that?

00:24:24

She's a chair of the event.

00:24:25

I didn't know that. She hasn't gone in 10 years, so everybody like calling me out for not knowing that. Like, how did everybody know that? I was shocked to see her. I think she really came— a lot of people like hard launched their kids last night. Um, they used it. It was very much like a nepo event. And so I think she really went for Blue because Blue was having this moment. It's crazy work to put your daughter in Balenciaga. I just want to say, I, I'm sorry, I think that's nuts. Um, but she looked great. She really did.

00:24:49

Yeah. Um, also Nicole Kidman brought her daughter, but typically the Met Gala doesn't allow people under 18. Um, oh, but like they have said, because they said it's like—

00:24:58

she might not have gone in.

00:24:59

She might not have gone in, but they've said like if you're accompanied by your parents like it's okay. So they were okay. Plus Nicole and Beyoncé were part of the board, so they could do whatever the fuck they want.

00:25:11

So Beyoncé's look, I really wish she didn't have the jacket. Like, first of all, I was watching her on the livestream, she was in hell. She was huffing and puffing, she was sweating so much. Like, she's wearing this probably dress that weighs 50 pounds and then this enormous fur coat, which I think ruined the look because the whole bodies thing, and then here she is wearing a skeleton.

00:25:27

Like, I get it.

00:25:28

Oh yeah, and it's a sick dress, and I think that the jacket covers up a lot of like the work. Yep. And I just, I love the piece. I love the dress. I hate the jacket.

00:25:36

I agree completely.

00:25:38

Um, but it's so funny about Beyoncé, like, you—

00:25:41

she—

00:25:42

her persona is like so much larger than life, and I never like hear her talk, right? She doesn't do interviews, like, she doesn't have a podcast. So every time— and I can't remember the last time I just heard her speak. It's always people speaking about her, or she's just showing up in a look. She was interviewed by Lala, and she's just like a— she's just a mom, you know? Every answer was like What are you excited about? To be here with Blue. What's new this year? I'm seeing it through the eyes of my daughter. Like, she was just actually giving really sweet answers, and she's kind of like— she was giving shy. She was like just very delightful and shy. And I feel like I know so much more of like her impact than I do her personality.

00:26:17

Yeah, I wasn't expecting her—

00:26:18

she's just like so like a mom.

00:26:20

Yeah, low-key.

00:26:22

Yeah, very low-key.

00:26:23

Yeah, that's very sweet. Next we have, um, Teyana Taylor and Tom Ford.

00:26:28

Um, this look got ruined for me because I watched her on the stream posing, and that happened a lot. Like Rachel Zegler, oh my God, she looked like she had TMJ. She was like, yeah, like these people are fucking crazy.

00:26:41

You were gonna otherwise love Rachel Zegler's?

00:26:44

Of course, you guys know I'm such a big fan. So Teyana Taylor, like, I'm looking at this picture, this is a sick dress, it's literally a work of art, but I can't get over like her movements. They were insane.

00:26:52

Yeah, yeah, it's always awkward to see like someone like smiling Or not even what she was doing is different, but just someone like getting their picture taken, it's just very awkward to see.

00:27:01

Now I feel like one of my biggest criticisms of the Met this year is not necessarily anyone's looks. It's more so I feel like it doesn't feel that exclusive anymore. I feel like it's supposed to represent, at least how I interpret it, maybe I'm interpreting it incorrectly, like the year of work. Like it's supposed to represent that year, like kind of how like Dixie D'Amelio went one year, which is insane, but like it represented the year.

00:27:23

Yes, yes, it should. But then there are people who had a big year 3 years ago and are still worth inviting, right?

00:27:30

So that's kind of how I feel about Doja Cat. Like, I was really surprised to see her there.

00:27:34

Yes, but like, I think she's a huge artist. She's very fashion and she's art and she's—

00:27:38

she's very fashion and art.

00:27:41

I'm not surprised to see her there, and I thought she looked great.

00:27:44

Yeah, I thought she looked great too. I actually like her as a blonde.

00:27:47

Yeah, I really like this look.

00:27:49

Um, Nicole Kidman wore Chanel. She was like the first one there because she's one of the chairs. She brought her daughter who was also wearing Chanel. Hard launch, nepo baby. Um, The dress is really pretty, but she just like does look like she's going to the Oscars, which like she goes to a lot of black tie events and this just didn't feel that different.

00:28:05

Yeah, but I think she looks great. I don't know the reference or to not reference, but, um, I don't have any complaints, you know.

00:28:12

I don't know the reference either.

00:28:14

Then we have Tyla. Cute. Yeah, very pretty.

00:28:18

Really cute. Her hair was wet.

00:28:20

Very pretty.

00:28:21

Sabrina. Okay, so this is really inspired.

00:28:25

It was. She was channeling Audrey Hepburn in the movie Sabrina and her dress was made out of film tape of the movie.

00:28:32

Of the movie. Yeah, it's, it's truly fashion is art, art being fashion. Like, this is a— it's kind of giving, um, what's that Project Runway challenge where they have to make, um, they have to make a dress out of like garbage? It's called the something something materials challenge. Like, un— uh, fuck, this is gonna bother me so much. You know what I'm talking about? They do it every year on Project Runway.

00:28:51

I don't watch that much Project Runway.

00:28:53

They like take them to a dumpster. What is the word I'm looking for? It's like unconventional materials challenge.

00:28:59

Unconventional materials. Yes, that's exactly this. Honestly, it was a huge night for Breener. Not only did she slay the theme, the look, the carpet, everything— she performed inside. She did a couple of her hits. She performed with Stevie Nicks, Landslide. Like, all eyes on Breener. I'm sorry if she didn't like get a boyfriend last night. What were you doing?

00:29:14

Yeah, I just also want to say I hate her shoes.

00:29:17

Oh, so you're being one of those?

00:29:18

Sorry. Oh my God, no, I just— I feel like people are not like criticizing. Like, yeah, this looks amazing, the shoes are bad. I do feel like she has a complex because she's so short. So like she had to wear these stompers, but they're just like so distracting.

00:29:31

I guess it works for me. It doesn't bother me. I'm cracking up that you're one of those people. I love the look. I would change the shoes. Um, even though Briener should have gotten a boyfriend last night, like I actually don't know who in that room would be worthy of her. I feel like a man going like solo to the Met Gala is kind of icky.

00:29:46

There were also not a lot of boys there. Like nobody brought their boyfriend.

00:29:49

No Hamilton. No one did it.

00:29:51

Nobody asked.

00:29:52

No Brooks, no Taron.

00:29:55

No Brooks, but Grace Anne was there. Does that— was anybody else confused by that? And Brooks dropped her off. I feel like they literally put her in as like Brooks Nader and like she took her seat and everything, but like showed up as Grace Anne because like why would Grace Anne be there?

00:30:07

I have no idea. Why wasn't Brooks there?

00:30:10

I don't know. Brooks was, was I think like in the Sprinter with, with Grace Anne and dropped her off.

00:30:15

It'll be on the show, whatever it is.

00:30:18

That's true. Um, next up we have one of my best dressed. I don't know if anyone's gonna come close. Miss Hailey Bieber.

00:30:23

Yep.

00:30:24

The color is stunning. The gold-plated, like, it's just insane. It's a reference to an old Saint Laurent. She's wearing Saint Laurent. It's gorgeous. I wish she actually didn't take the scarf off though. She took it off at the very bottom of the steps, and all the pictures are with the remainder of the dress. And I think that the scarf really makes it special, and it looks, you know, like a statue with like the drapery.

00:30:43

Yeah, no, she looks amazing. Where was Justin? Oh yeah, I always like couple pictures. They always do good couple pictures too. Yeah, so we didn't get any of that. But yeah, no, she looks amazing. You can tell she probably had the best night ever. She's comfortable, she's beautiful, her hair's up, she could dance the night away.

00:30:59

Well, she also, I feel like, made everyone look so bad, cuz let me tell you, she's has a slick back bun, barely any jewelry, a little highlighter, and she's one of the best dressed. Meanwhile, there are people there wearing like £60 dresses who just look stupid.

00:31:12

Like, they can't—

00:31:13

I actually feel like all others were like mad at her.

00:31:16

Yeah, but you could do it too. I guess some people, like, they just have to wear what the designer says, but but even people who looked stupid have a little more agency than that. Like, some of them were big stars.

00:31:25

She looked insane.

00:31:28

Next we have Charli XCX. She's wearing some like Monet flowers on her chest.

00:31:35

Hate. Um, she needed a necklace, and I, I hate her hair. In the words of Nicki Minaj, I hate, hate, hate your hair and makeup today. This hair is just like so corny. I just don't like it.

00:31:49

The hair is corny.

00:31:51

Yeah, it's like so like glam, Instagram glam from 2016.

00:31:55

Yeah, yeah, it's giving like dated pop star. Yes, that, that is interesting because she's not a corny girl whatsoever.

00:32:02

No, this whole look is just weird. I think she's so art.

00:32:06

Yeah, no, I like the dress, but you know, a black dress, it's hard. Like, I want to start color, especially in this theme when it's art palette, it's vibrant. Like, it's— yeah, it's It's not, um, it's not for me. But she looks like Charli, you know?

00:32:20

Yeah.

00:32:20

So it's like she's— Charli XCX is wearing flowers in her own way.

00:32:24

Um, Cardi B and Marc Jacobs, also very, very close. She should thank Heidi Klum because she would have been my worst dress.

00:32:30

What is going on? I, I didn't see a video of this. Are those supposed to be breasts?

00:32:34

Well, she got there late, so I do think she missed the stream, so we only saw pictures. She, she looks like she has like hemorrhoids on her shoulders. Like, this is just bad.

00:32:44

Yeah, I— but they— are they meant to be boobs? I didn't think that they were to be boobs.

00:32:50

I, I honestly have no idea. I don't know if the reference— I don't know, I don't care. It's just ugly.

00:32:54

It's Marc Jacobs.

00:32:56

Ugly is what it is.

00:32:57

Next we have Colman Domingo.

00:32:59

So I feel like it's hard for men to stand out. This is the first man we're talking about. I actually like what he's wearing.

00:33:05

I like what he's wearing too. It is very art.

00:33:07

It's art. I don't know what the reference is, but you know what, he looks handsome and I like the jacket, so I'm gonna leave it at that.

00:33:12

No, I have I have no negative thoughts. Next we have, um, Ayo Adebiyi and Chanel. Beautiful.

00:33:20

It is really beautiful, but I do feel like there was like a certain piece of art that a lot of people referenced. Um, Kendall— there was another girl, I forget, it's like an angelic—

00:33:29

she, she and Kendall reference the exact same. Yeah.

00:33:33

So I feel like there's like a genre of art that a lot of people referenced, including Ayo Adebiyi, and like hers falls flat compared to the others for me.

00:33:39

Yes, but it is a beautiful silhouette and you can't go wrong, whereas other years a lot of people do a similar sort of thing, and it's not nearly as beautiful as looking like a goddess or a statue. And so this is like, I guess, the safe choice of the night.

00:33:53

Yes.

00:33:54

But it's incredibly beautiful. And another one who probably had a great time, felt very comfortable and very beautiful.

00:34:00

Yes.

00:34:00

So I, I think that's a great— like, you know, if you were going to the Met Gala and you didn't know what to wear, that is very safe and— yeah, good.

00:34:08

Yeah, safe.

00:34:09

Next we have Kim Kardashian wearing a Sculptor and, you know, Kim is really one of the ones to watch at the Met Gala. So a lot of pressure and eyes on Miss Kim.

00:34:20

What do you think? And I have to say, I actually really like it.

00:34:23

Me as well.

00:34:23

I heard her explain the— she worked with an actual artist who makes like these types of sculptures. He doesn't make clothes. They like added a skirt to his pre-existing like piece of art. So she's literally wearing art. It's like a real reference. It's crazy to not be wearing pants. Like remember when Sabrina, I think it was last year, Black Dandyism, like wore like a leotard. It's crazy just not to be wearing pants.

00:34:41

Yeah.

00:34:41

But I love her blonde hair. I think the glam is great. I actually— I feel like Kim is always falling flat for me these days, like in fashion, especially at the Met Gala. Like, I can't remember the last time she really took my breath away. And I love this.

00:34:53

I love it too. It's different. She was like with the old man sculptor, um, she left him at the door of her Sprinter. Did you see those videos?

00:35:00

No, I didn't.

00:35:01

I was like, is he gonna— he like walked her all the way from the hotel to Sprinter, and then he's like in with the bodyguards. I'm like, I was like, is he gonna go in? And then he didn't.

00:35:10

Oh, I'm really sad.

00:35:10

No, it was kind of sad. Oh no. I don't know what like the plan was, but I just didn't like seeing him left on the side of the road.

00:35:18

I don't like that either. She showed up with Kris, who was like doing her Kris thing. She always just wears like a really, not safe, but like really mother of the bride type of—

00:35:26

Yeah, like mother, like, you know, appropriate, on theme a little bit. She was wearing Dolce last night. She usually wears like Tommy Hilfiger.

00:35:33

I know, she's just a ghost Tommy.

00:35:34

It's never about her, except for the one year where she dressed like Jackie O. Jackie Kennedy, and she looked amazing.

00:35:39

Yeah. Yes.

00:35:40

Yeah.

00:35:41

Next, Ivy.

00:35:42

Blue Ivy in Balenciaga.

00:35:44

So like I said, to have your 13 or 14-year-old daughter wear Balenciaga is insane, um, but she does look really cool and good. And there's like a trend with young people, like showing off your tan lines. I don't know if you know that.

00:35:56

That's a pro.

00:35:57

Yeah, it's like a thing that like people do. It like looks cool, so she's doing that. So it's like, it's cool to have Gen Z representation.

00:36:03

Oh, that's cool, because like in our day that was so uncouth.

00:36:06

Of course you would literally lay out naked so you didn't have the lines. Yeah, now it's being embraced.

00:36:11

Oh, okay, I didn't know that was happening.

00:36:13

Yeah, so she crushed the look.

00:36:15

Yeah, it must be very intimidating. How old is she now, like 14, something like that? So that's hard, be on this carpet. I'm glad you wear sunglasses. I feel like that does give you like a level of—

00:36:25

well, there's actually this video where like the stylist and her mom and everyone's telling her to take off her glasses and she won't do it.

00:36:31

That was like Khloé. Body. Yeah, they didn't want her to walk with glasses, but it's like a shield. I'm glad she walked with glasses. Yeah, and the lights are so bright, it's a lot, it's a lot. Yep. Next we have Serena Williams, which is hard to wear Swarovski, right?

00:36:45

Because that's my queen. Um, and I just— I don't like any part of this. I also think it's crazy to wear a watch, like, and it's not an Apple Watch or anything, it's just like a big— I'm sure it's like a $300,000 watch, but it's just—

00:36:56

it must be the brand she went with. I think she went with Swarovski, so like she had to wear their watch.

00:37:00

Oh, I think, like, I just want to skip this because I'm incapable of saying a bad word about it.

00:37:04

I like her shoes. I like her strappy shoes.

00:37:07

Oh, I don't.

00:37:09

I like the shoes.

00:37:11

You don't like the girl?

00:37:12

Do you like the glam? I like the glam.

00:37:14

Yes, yes, yes. She has got a beat.

00:37:16

It's always good to find one positive. Yeah. Okay, next we have Emma Chamberlain wearing Mugler, aforementioned It's beautiful.

00:37:27

It's actually insane, her transformation. Like, I'm sorry, if you used to like watch her YouTube, just to realize like that's this girl, I'll never get over it. She was doing hosting for E— I didn't— not E, excuse me, for Vogue. I didn't see her. She wasn't on the mainstream. She must have been doing like social, like TikTok livestream or whatever. Um, but she's quite literate and I wouldn't even consider her like a creator anymore, but there was not one influencer there. Nobody from TikTok. I thought it was like actually they did. They absolutely did.

00:37:55

Threw away the key.

00:37:56

So I feel like they were really exclusive in terms of like keeping out digital talent, but I didn't feel like there was exclusivity elsewhere. There were a couple of people, and I'll say them when we come to them, but I was really shocked. But no influencers, zero.

00:38:10

Yeah, I, I— and where do you think that comes from?

00:38:14

I don't know. It's— I mean, I do think they leaned in too hard a few years ago when they had like a YouTube sponsorship and every YouTuber was there. Like, that was weird. James Charles, NikkieTutorials, like, that was crazy. And then I feel like they briefly leaned in when TikTok was really blowing up. They almost like couldn't not acknowledge it. They had Addison and Dixie, the girls who were old enough to go, and now nothing. And I do feel like there's actually a lot of high fashion creators.

00:38:38

Do you think it's Lauren and Jeff?

00:38:42

Oh, let's talk about Lauren and Jeff.

00:38:43

Let's talk about Lauren and Jeff.

00:38:44

She like—

00:38:44

you're never going to— is like a chair.

00:38:46

She fucking love her. I'm sorry, you will will literally never get me to say a bad word about her. I'm so in awe of her. Like, when we talk about women in business and like hustling, networking, I'm sorry, nobody's operating at a higher level.

00:39:00

Yeah.

00:39:01

Than Miss Lauren Sanchez Bezos.

00:39:03

Yeah. Not only like to get to where she's gotten, but then as the two of them as a team, like buying the Met Gala, buying your way in, like, because you can. And it's like, you know, a lot of people have issue with it. And I saw an interview with Chloe Bennett, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, and they asked her like, how do you feel about like, mm, Lauren's involvement. And, you know, I'm prob—

00:39:23

I'm sure inside it kills her that she's had to, like, sell the rat, take money. Yeah.

00:39:28

But she's like, you know, it's been— they said, like, she's a force. She's through in multiple areas in the world. She's, you know, sort of pushes her way in. And it's been amazing for the exhibit. Like, at the end of the day, they are giving money to this thing. This is a fundraiser, and they've got the funds.

00:39:43

Well, what's funny is that the involvement of Lauren and Jeff Bezos has has now like had people turning on the event. Like Sarah Paulson's outfit was like a— she wore the money over her eyes. It's from a collection called The 1%. Like, it was very much a, um, statement. And a couple of people have, um, boycotted the event because of the Bezos. And it's like, it has always been this. It's always been a group of wealthy people. You can't get in without spending at least $100,000 before even buying an outfit. It's always been this like obscene display of wealth. Display of So I don't understand why, like, the Bezos going makes it that much different. It's the same exact thing.

00:40:18

It's true.

00:40:19

You're just like finding a moment to like boycott it now.

00:40:22

I have more respect for people who just didn't go because it doesn't align with their values. Like, that is respectable if that's how you feel. Sarah Paulson going and making a statement is seriously one of the loseriest things I ever saw. Loser sneeze.

00:40:37

It's giving when AOC went and wore a dress that said tax the rich.

00:40:40

I'm like, look around, baby.

00:40:41

You are the rich. Like, look around, look around. Don't tell us. Yeah. So I feel like people, I, people do get like their wires crossed now with Bezos's involvement when it's always been this. If it wasn't Bezos, it's another billionaire funding it.

00:40:55

Yeah. And I just wanna say like the people who embrace it, who are just like, yeah, let it rain. The Kardashians. Okay. They're having so much fun. And all of you on the sidelines, like pissing in bottles and leaving it in the museum, you're not having fun. Yeah. You're not having fun.

00:41:09

Lauren's dress was heavily criticized. There was a rumor, I read it on Twitter, and then it turned out not to be true, that like because she paid whatever, she could— uh, she was wearing Schiaparelli and that she got like exclusivity. No one else was allowed to wear Schiaparelli, but that's not true because Kylie was wearing Schiaparelli.

00:41:22

Um, I would want exclusivity that me and Kylie have to wear the same thing and we have to sit together.

00:41:28

And like everyone was saying, her outfit's so boring, like $10 million just to wear a mother of the bride dress. She's a 50-year-old woman. What the fuck do you guys want her to— if she did come out in this like insane— it'd be like, oh, she's trying so hard to You know what, I'm sorry, people just hate her and I love, love, love.

00:41:42

Did you see the reference too? The art reference?

00:41:45

I did see the art reference.

00:41:46

Because the reference was on point. So not only is it like a beautiful dress that highlights her fantastic figure, the reference was on point. Madame X. I love her.

00:41:55

Like seriously, you'll never get me to say a bad word about her. I'm trying to get on the yacht.

00:41:59

Yeah, no, it's just like lighten up, have fun, or stay home.

00:42:04

Speaking of Kendall Jenner, the—

00:42:06

oh wait, I just wanted to say I think Emma Chamberlain looks amazing. And I think amazing— I saw the reference, but I didn't even need to see it. It's obviously like me neither, brushstrokes of Van Gogh, like watercolors, like literally it's a top contender for me. Agreed.

00:42:20

Hate her hair, but that's her hair now. Like, that's who she is.

00:42:23

That's okay. Our next one, another top contender every year: Kendall Jenner and the nipple out.

00:42:28

The nipple out is so— it's such like a funny nod to like the, I guess, like body dresses, which is what Kylie did, I think, probably better than anyone. Um, so she had like a little slip of it. She's referencing that angelic art. Her dress did open up into like a Victoria's Secret angel wing. I don't know why they didn't do it on the carpet because all the pictures of it are from inside, and by then like people just don't care anymore. Like it's the carpet pics.

00:42:50

She should have done it at the top of the carpet if she could have, because once she opens it, she can't close it. So she couldn't do it at the bottom, right? She'd have all the pictures in it. Uh, I imagine— no, I think she looks amazing. It also reminds me of the book I'm reading, The It Girl, when she sits for her portrait and like she has to have like one boob out.

00:43:04

Out.

00:43:04

Mhm.

00:43:05

Mhm.

00:43:06

That's—

00:43:06

maybe she's inspired.

00:43:07

Maybe she's inspired by Evelyn Talbot.

00:43:11

Kylie is next wearing Schiaparelli. It's like— it's, it's actually the dress itself is insane in terms of like the art of it all, cuz she's wearing a body dress and it looks like the dress she's actually wearing is being ripped off.

00:43:23

She's taking it off.

00:43:25

I love—

00:43:25

I have—

00:43:26

I loved it. I, I'm so over the bleached eyebrows thing cuz I actually thought she was Gabrielle.

00:43:30

Yeah, I thought she was Gabrielle too. I, I think she looks amazing, like really perfection. If it were me, I, I would not have bleached eyebrows, and that's coming from someone like with essentially bleached eyebrows, so like I can speak to the experience. Um, but yeah, it just is a little bit distracting when the other— when everything else about the look is just so beautiful. And bleaching eyebrows, it's not like a beautiful look, it's, it's an intense like fashion look.

00:43:53

I feel like she'll just do it to be fashion.

00:43:55

If she had leaned into just like ethereal beauty. Like, it just would have been over the top, but it's still really amazing.

00:44:02

Agreed.

00:44:03

But it's also like how she carries herself. So much about it— like Kendall, that's why I say like anyone, if Kendall wore anyone's dress here, she'd be best dressed because she just like carries herself like the best dressed.

00:44:12

And Kendall was wearing— a couple of people were wearing, um, Gap. Zac Posen for Gap, which is just a crazy Gap at the Met Gala. But every look I saw of his was actually really good. Yeah. And she was his date.

00:44:27

Uh, next we have Alex Consani.

00:44:31

I just feel like this is a safe, boring dress. Like, like I said, if you wanted to be in theme, you just wore a corset. And so she's wearing like a pretty corset dress and with the nipple.

00:44:39

Like, it's a real nipple though.

00:44:41

Yeah, with like a classic big dress, a big jacket.

00:44:44

Yeah, the silhouette is pretty classic, but I guess everyone else was wearing fake nipples. Yeah, she pulled out a real one.

00:44:50

True. I have to say, Rachel Sinat from I Love LA, who's up next, I loved her outfit. Like, it's so different. Like, I get it. Like, I love it. I do.

00:44:59

That's really funny. I don't know her.

00:45:03

Oh, she's like the Gen Z girl.

00:45:04

Yeah, yeah. And I don't know her outfit, and I respect it, but you know what, I'm not like— I'm— it's not for me personally. It's not my taste, but I, I could see how it's on Next up, we had Gracie Abrams in Chanel.

00:45:18

Um, hate, hate.

00:45:21

But you know that she's referencing Woman in Gold.

00:45:23

I said I hate her hair.

00:45:25

Okay, hate her hair.

00:45:26

And no, I didn't know that. It's a pretty dress. It's not like— it's whatever.

00:45:29

I just feel like she's not worthy to reference Woman in Gold given like all the history of the picture.

00:45:34

Yeah, I agree. Yeah, I needed to be a Jew ass. Where's Gaga? No.

00:45:39

Are you sure?

00:45:41

Positive.

00:45:41

Yeah, yeah. Well, I actually thought she was a Jew and she wasn't worthy, but that doesn't change my stance. She's not worthy. It's a beautiful dress, a beautiful reference, but she's like not my favorite.

00:45:55

Kris Jenner and Dolce, obsessed. Like, it's just— it's so Kris.

00:46:01

It is so Kris. Joe Burrow, like, looking weird and out of place considering he's the second man we've spoken about out. I think that he looks good, and you know, he must feel funny. Definitely, you know, he feels funny. I saw a picture of him, like a video of him taking a picture with his teammate. He's probably like, this is so silly.

00:46:19

Yeah, and like girly.

00:46:22

Yeah.

00:46:23

Um, SZA, there's a lot.

00:46:26

It's a lot. Yeah, I like— I feel like it could have been a little less.

00:46:29

Yeah, there's just a lot. Oh, okay. Chase Infinity, she's up there with best dressed. I feel like everyone's talking about—

00:46:35

she's up there with whomst for me.

00:46:37

With who?

00:46:38

Whom?

00:46:38

Oh, who is she? Yeah, she's like new up-and-coming actress. She was—

00:46:41

I asked Liz and Liz gave me a response that I had no idea what it was.

00:46:46

She was just on the Oscar circuit. She was in one battle after another. Um, she's like an up-and-coming, like, big-timey actress, and I fucking love her dress.

00:46:54

Liz had a typo because I'm like, I don't know what she said. She's from one Barry after another.

00:46:59

One battle.

00:47:00

One— I'm like, what's one Barry? I really don't know anything.

00:47:03

She looks— I just love this dress. And you know what's shocking is that it's Thom Browne. And I feel like any outfit I've ever seen of Thom Browne is the ugliest thing ever. And the fact that he made this like insanely beautiful, colorful, bright dress that's like perfect for her.

00:47:15

Yeah, I was shocked. She looks very nice.

00:47:18

Bad Bunny wore Zara, which is insane.

00:47:21

I guess like an old man. Explain.

00:47:24

I can't. I think that also Zara is now— it's like John Galliano, one of those, like for Zara, kind of how Zac Posen for Gap. I don't get it, um, at all.

00:47:34

So sorry, I just don't understand why he looked old. And then there was a video of him saying hi to Kris and Kim, and it looks like they're giving him the cold shoulder because he's Kendall's ex, but I think it's really because they don't recognize him.

00:47:42

I had no idea who it was until—

00:47:44

how would we ever know who that is?

00:47:46

And like, literally, God forbid Vogue put the names on the livestream, that would have solved the problem, right?

00:47:51

So, um, yeah. Oh, next we have Doechi.

00:47:54

She looks very interesting. Yeah, very like, um Greek goddess.

00:47:59

Yeah, very beautiful. Um, but you know, last year she went viral for like yelling at everyone.

00:48:05

Oh yes, that video popped up on my Instagram this morning, making the rounds again.

00:48:09

Very awkward. Hopefully she didn't yell as much this year.

00:48:13

I don't know Jeremy Pope, but I love his blouse. Yeah, a couple of men. Justin Jefferson. Like, I really don't care about the men.

00:48:20

Yeah, we can skip ahead to Daisy Allard, Edgar Jones, and Alexander McQueen. Boring, boring but beautiful.

00:48:26

Uh, Tessa Thompson and Valentino, pretty, pretty. Same with Jasmine Tookes. There's just like a lot of people wearing pretty dresses.

00:48:34

Like, I don't know, Jasmine looks really beautiful though.

00:48:36

Oh, Louisa Jacobson, I kind of love what she's wearing. It's the first time I'm seeing it and I don't know who she is.

00:48:41

Is she not, um, she looks like Gilded Age girl.

00:48:47

Oh, maybe the Gilded Age girls look so different in person. I'm just skipping to like a couple of more interesting people and I don't know a lot of these people and I also don't care. Yeah, I'm So let's go to Madonna. Madonna wore this like insane dress, hat, trumpet with 8 girls, and she took up the whole carpet. And she literally recreated an entire painting.

00:49:08

Yeah, which is cool.

00:49:09

Yeah, it was very cool. I enjoyed it. And I like when people come with like, you know, staff.

00:49:14

And like not everyone can do it, and everyone please don't do it. Like we only have so much allotted time on the carpet and I don't give a fuck. But if you're gonna do it, like this is a good way to do it. And I think Madonna's a good candidate. She's earned the right to take up our time. Absolutely.

00:49:27

Only a few people can, like Lady Gaga when she did it, Rihanna when she did the big yellow fur jacket.

00:49:33

Yeah.

00:49:34

Let's go down to Tate McRae. People were like kind of gagged by Tate McRae. She looks insane. Her body is, as the kids say, tea.

00:49:41

Yeah, she does look very beautiful.

00:49:45

She looks like, um, the, the fluffer from Beauty and the Beast.

00:49:49

Yeah, what's that? The feather dust.

00:49:51

Fluffette, something like that.

00:49:53

Yeah.

00:49:54

I want to talk about Blake Lively next. She showed up. I had no— I never in my life thought she was gonna come. Like, I was shocked. And my first thought was, good for her. You just know she's in hell. She has to just keep doing stuff to move on, especially now they released a statement. We'll talk about it. There's not going to trial. It's over. She had to go. And she is kind of like Met Gala queen. Her dress This is sick.

00:50:16

Yeah, and it's like she's taking up a lot of space physically with the dress, as she usually does. It's not like she's coming in quietly. Now, she wasn't with Ryan, but I think this is one place that's really like her place. I think her and Anna and the fashion board are, are still tight, so she's most welcome here, and she should go. And what is she— unless she's going quietly into the night, like, she needs to go.

00:50:37

And she was like literally on her best behavior because, you know, they film you going up the stairs, and a lot of time you have handlers, and it's a stressful thing. I think it's hot in there, everyone's picking up your dress, you can't move 'Oh, thank you so much. Yes, yes, yes.' And then she was interviewing Lala, and she was like, 'I actually felt bad for her.' She was— sorry, she was being interviewed by Lala. 'I actually felt bad for her. She was just like really putting on.' Um, and I think it's probably nerve-wracking to like be doing interviews again, but she was like talking to Lala about her purse, which was Judith Lieber, and they wanted to like replicate art on it. So she actually had her kids do like a bunch of watercolors, and they made a purse of it. Like, whatever. And Lala was like, 'That's great, that's great.' Like, it was just— it was painful.

00:51:12

Listen, you got to start somewhere.

00:51:14

You—

00:51:14

exactly.

00:51:15

I'm glad she went, like, seriously good for her.

00:51:17

And she looks very beautiful, and the dress is beautiful.

00:51:20

She slays.

00:51:21

Yeah, and it's Versace.

00:51:24

Russell Wilson and Ciara looking great. Like, he does, like, looks well. It's hard to be, like, a straight manly guy and, like, put on a costume, but I think he looks great.

00:51:33

And I think it's even better when you're, like, with your wife who's going to hold it down, and then you just— you hit the accents, which I feel like he did. They look great especially together.

00:51:42

Um, I'm scrolling just because I don't care about a lot of these people. I don't know.

00:51:47

Yeah, we had, you know, the obligatory models showing up with the fashion, as they should.

00:51:52

Designers— Amelia Gray was there. Um, I actually didn't see her until this roundup, so she didn't really make an impact. She wore a black dress.

00:52:00

The Peltz-Beckhams weren't there.

00:52:02

Oh, huge missed opportunity. Grace Gummer. What's her name? Caroline Kennedy from—

00:52:09

oh yes.

00:52:09

Oh, Sarah Pidgeon too wore such a bad look. Like, I feel like it was such a missed opportunity. She wore like literally something like— it's like an— it looks like it's from Revolve.

00:52:18

Like, but like, to me, she's the exact type who got invited with a designer and is wearing what she's told. She does not hold really sway, I guess.

00:52:26

But it's just a missed opportunity because she's one of the it girls of this year.

00:52:31

Yes. Oh, for sure. But like, that's just, you know, she's happy to be there. I thought I really like Karlie Kloss's dress. Yes.

00:52:36

Oh, that's so funny. I was just about to say Carly Claus looking like a ball sack.

00:52:39

I thought she looked so beautiful. I really liked how it moved. I really like the dress actually. I like—

00:52:46

Alicia Tabecki wore flats.

00:52:49

Queenie. Wow, she looks beautiful.

00:52:52

Oh my God, I so don't—

00:52:54

and the flats, I get it, you know, cuz she's the statue and they do wear flats. Oh, Rachel Zegler, she did the art.

00:53:02

Yeah, a lot of people were like freaking out that she wore something over her eyes. I just assumed it was like some reference, so I have no problem like with the weirdness. I— you have to watch a video of her posing and you can see in this picture that Vogue— it's a lot of jaw. She looks insane.

00:53:17

Yeah, I saw it.

00:53:19

Um, Sarah Paulson, we've already discussed.

00:53:21

Loser sneeze.

00:53:22

Oh, also one of my worst dressed, Miss Cher. It's just weird.

00:53:27

I just feel like that can't be worse dressed, you know?

00:53:31

Yeah, I mean, I haven't gotten to her yet, but I feel like we're at the bottom of the list with like irrelevance, so we don't need to keep going. Is, um, Heidi Klum. So she's definitely my worst dressed.

00:53:40

Yeah, I would, I would say so too. Like, she was literally like— she actually dressed up like a statue, and not in like a fashionable way, but like in a costume way.

00:53:49

Yeah, so I just feel like it's such a high-class affair, and like the fact that she wore something that she could have worn to her like really tacky Halloween party is so bad. This should be like— I feel like if you dress poorly enough, you should be kicked out, like, from never. And like, to me, that's what Heidi Klum— so she is my worst dress. And I guess I'm staying with my original picks. Hailey Bieber is my best dress. And it's so— some of the after-party looks were sick.

00:54:14

Hailey and Kendall.

00:54:15

Oh yeah, I feel like my— like, I'm so boring because it's always like Hailey and Kendall, like, just like the boring, like, skinny, like, girls. But like, I'm sorry, they slay every year.

00:54:23

Yeah, they do. Did you see Sabine Getty? I don't know who that is, but look up her dress. Of course I saw Sabine Getty with the ring and the hand on the dress. I loved that dress. I, I wish that someone like more known wore it just so like everyone would be talking about it. Like if Kendall or Hailey or Kylie wore that dress— not that I would change either of their looks, but like then they would be for sure best dressed. I just really, really loved that dress and people should look it up if you haven't seen it.

00:54:50

It's just funny because, um, Like Vogue then released a best dressed look, and I feel like half the people— a list, excuse me— and the people that I would have thought were going to be on it are not. Like, it's so subjective, do you know what I mean?

00:55:04

Yeah, it is.

00:55:05

And I feel like a lot of people, like, you give guesses before, like, who you think is gonna be, um, on the best dressed list. And everybody, like, I bet on, like, Polly Market, you could have predicted who, like—

00:55:16

yeah, no, I think they had predictions for—

00:55:19

yeah, they did—

00:55:20

the Met Gala.

00:55:20

Yeah. Okay. And so like here were the people, and I feel like Vogue like kind of goes rogue. Like Nicole Kidman, I wouldn't say best dressed. Doja Cat, I wouldn't say best dressed. Um, Alex Consani, a lot of people predicted on Polymarket and she was on the best dressed list. Same with Rihanna, but that's easy. That's easy. But then some people, it's hard cuz you don't even know if people are gonna show up. Like a lot of people on Polymarket predicted that Lady Gaga and Travis Kelce would be on the best dressed list and they weren't even there.

00:55:46

Yeah.

00:55:46

Yeah, that's fun.

00:55:48

That is really fun.

00:55:48

Oh, Chapel Roan also, people thought, but she was not there either.

00:55:51

Miss Chap.

00:55:52

But Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter. Oh, and Gwendolyn Christie. Did you see her look? Our, our queen.

00:55:57

Yes, the ocean.

00:55:59

She made Vogue's best dress list, and I was really surprised to see her there.

00:56:04

Yes, I thought she looked great and very on theme.

00:56:07

Kendall Jenner, Kim.

00:56:08

Kendall Jenner is always a safe choice, as for me is Kylie.

00:56:13

And that's a fun way to like predict on Polymarket. Um, Polymarket is available in the US App Store with culture markets launching really soon, so you'll be able to trade on all your favorite reality shows, celeb gossip, and everything in between. Download the app now and use code Toast to skip the waitlist and be the first in line when those markets go live.

00:56:28

Thanks, Turdy. Also, a couple more people at the bottom of this list, like Anne Hathaway, who was dressed like a vase, I believe.

00:56:34

I saw people like living for this, and I just want to say I didn't like it.

00:56:38

I'm not living for this.

00:56:40

Okay.

00:56:41

And Margot Robbie was very like demure and low-key.

00:56:44

Yeah, I feel the way about her as I do like— like she goes to a lot of— like, uh, Nicole Kidman, she goes to a lot of Oscars. Like, this just looks like an Oscars dress. It's beautiful.

00:56:54

Yeah, yeah, it's beautiful and it's safe and nice, and she didn't like reinvent the wheel, but she's not getting in any trouble.

00:56:59

No, which is good, I guess.

00:57:01

Yeah, I think my best dress was Kylie, as it always is.

00:57:05

Really?

00:57:05

Yeah, I loved her. I thought she looked beautiful. Of course I love Kendall's I think Kylie's was a bit more ornate.

00:57:12

Oh, you know who we didn't talk about who looked gorgine? Zoe Kravitz didn't show up with Harry, and her left hand was like in her pocket.

00:57:19

She looked gorgine, but she always looks gorgine. And I also felt like her dress— I haven't seen the reference associated, so I don't really know, but like it just felt like it's something you could wear like any year really. But I guess it was a romper. The same goes for Kendall and Kylie and Janelle Monáe.

00:57:35

She was on Vogue's best dressed list and she looked sick.

00:57:37

She always looks like amazing and like she's so fashion somewhere else. Um, and does—

00:57:44

but yes, noticeably absent, no Instagrammers, no TikTokers, no, uh, podcasters.

00:57:50

No podcasters.

00:57:51

I thought that maybe Travis would be there because him and Jason— because I was thinking like the— in the Bezos connection, they have a huge podcast network and they have a lot of really big shows. Like the Smartless guys are there, New Heights is there, so I thought maybe we would get like some podcast talent, but no, they really gatekept the internet folk away. They kept them away.

00:58:11

Yeah, which I'm fine with. Just keep the bar like high for all talent across.

00:58:15

Yeah, and like, I like her, but like Cami Mendes, like, how do you— like, how— you know what I mean? Like, this is not—

00:58:19

she was there again.

00:58:21

Yeah, who like represents the year, I feel. But maybe that's not what it is.

00:58:24

No, but also I feel like she earned her stripes to get invited for a couple years when Riverdale was—

00:58:29

they were all there.

00:58:30

And now she's just like, I'm sure the designer's like, like dressing her, and she's just like a safe choice.

00:58:35

Yeah, I guess.

00:58:36

I thought Joey King also looked amazing.

00:58:38

Oh, me too. I like Joey King. And, um, I thought Jake Shane was going to be there and he wasn't.

00:58:44

Yeah, but no, no digital talent.

00:58:46

Zero. I thought that was— that's like a little bit of a miss. I feel like they should have had like 2 people. I feel like they either do so many, like let the floodgates in with all the YouTubers, or none. Like, how about 3?

00:58:55

Yeah. Also, Cara Delevingne was a host. I thought she looked really beautiful.

00:58:59

Yeah, so Ashley Graham, Cara Delevingne, and Lala Anthony hosted the livestream, and it was mostly Lala holding it down. And thank God for that, because she is so good at her job. And Minji and Amanda Seyfried.

00:59:10

Yeah, I love Amanda Seyfried's dress, but of course I do because it's pink.

00:59:15

Yeah.

00:59:16

And I actually really like her look. Okay, she's Minji, right? Uh, okay, so that's your Met Gala recap. Fun night. Hope everyone had fun. Hope some people fell in love. Otherwise, what are you guys all doing there, like, looking beautiful and hanging It's so true.

00:59:33

Bring, bring your boyfriends.

00:59:35

Bring your boyfriends. Also, like, as we're looking at this list, I'm not seeing like a lot of like eligible bachelors. I don't really know these guys, but like maybe Jeff had some friends or like some C-suite level executives.

00:59:44

Oh, and there's a lot of attendees who don't get photographed. They just go in the regular entrance, you know, socialites, wealthy people who are not famous, um, donors, people on the board. So yeah, I think that you could find a businessman beau if you tried.

00:59:57

Yeah. And so I think one of them hopefully like took a shining to Sabrina and maybe she's going out on a date this week with someone with a billionaire. Yeah, love that. Yeah, so jolly good show. And all in all, like, my sentiment is like everyone looked really beautiful. This was a beautiful night, like not, not even clown-like, whereas usually it's like it's giving capital Hunger Games.

01:00:18

No, and some themes people like just really don't know what to do with themselves.

01:00:23

This was like a kind of a boring theme, but that like inspired beautiful looks. Books.

01:00:27

Yeah, yeah, all in all I had a good time.

01:00:30

Yeah. Okay, our next story, which is like another big story from today, is that Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have settled their epic It Ends With Us lawsuit. So yesterday, after a year and a half of bitter feuding in court and in the press, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have resolved their legal differences 2 weeks ahead of a federal trial. Lively had accused Baldoni, uh, of sexual harassment on set of their 2024 film It Ends With Us. She also alleged that when she raised complaints about it, he and his army of publicists engaged in a digital smear campaign to retaliate. In a carefully crafted joint statement released on Monday, the parties expressed their feelings about moving on. Quote, the end product, the movie, is a source of pride to all of us who work to bring it to life. Raising awareness and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors and all survivors is a goal that we stand behind. We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Miss Lively deserve to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplace— to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.

01:01:35

So I think this is great. Um, I'm like a little upset that after all this, like, we're not even getting a trial. Um, but I don't— it's giving we're both wrong. If somebody has a huge case, like, you're not settling, especially if you feel like you really want to get your cleared and like vindicated. So it's, it's giving like nobody had a leg to stand on, I guess.

01:01:57

Uh, but also sometimes when you settle, like someone does get paid and does get what they're looking for.

01:02:01

Well, the details of the settlement are not made public. I would like to know.

01:02:04

Yeah, so we don't know that because that's also winds up being like some sort of admission in some cases. In other cases it's like, just go away, I will literally pay you to go away.

01:02:12

Yes. And I think some celebrities like really feel vehemently like against doing that because it does indicate ate. At least, like, I, I think for me, like, if you're paying someone to be quiet, it's because you did something.

01:02:22

Yeah, not always. Depends on the amount you paid. Is— but when we, we won't know.

01:02:28

Even though technically, um, it wasn't necessarily Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni settling, it was Blake Lively and his company, because as of a couple of weeks ago, the charges or whatever against him were dropped by the judge.

01:02:41

Yeah.

01:02:41

So I, I actually think she probably had a bit of a case, just like HR-wise, with the company. And so maybe they settled for that reason.

01:02:51

Yeah, but I also think the longer this drags on, it's, uh, it's not good for either of them. It's not getting better for either of them, and it's not going to get better for either of them. They should have done this one year ago, like I fucking said. Um, yeah, and now they can start to pick up the pieces, you know? Like I fucking said, I literally said, like, they're ruining each other. No one's gonna come smelling like roses here.

01:03:12

I know. And hopefully Justin Baldoni had the foresight to see that, like, the only place for him to go is down. Like, people are loving him, they're believing him, but like, the public opinion is so finicky and people just get like so groupthink. Like, so you know what, making it go away is wise for all them because it can't get any worse for Blake Lively.

01:03:29

Yeah. And I do think they're both a little bit right and a little bit wrong, and on some points, uh, point to Blake, and on some points point to Justin.

01:03:38

I agree. The more— the issue I, I really do have is like with how people very— so, so very quickly and easily, like, we're like swayed into hating Blake Lively and how she literally overnight became the most hated woman in America.

01:03:48

Yeah.

01:03:49

And you know me, I'm like always going to defend my fellow woman.

01:03:52

So how do you feel about like this settlement, putting it to bed? Like, what is it?

01:03:56

Oh, I feel good. I hate having an unpopular opinion. Like, I keep getting asked about it and it's just like sending more hate my way. So I'm glad that I never have to share my unpopular opinion. And I'm glad— I'm sure people are glad that they never have to hear it.

01:04:07

Yeah. And also, we can all sort of like agree to disagree. No one's right, no one's wrong. The people who were like writing for Justin or writing for Blake, like, I, I don't know where we channel all that energy now because I do still feel like the energy exists and we just all—

01:04:18

it does—

01:04:19

like move on. Um, but yeah, this is like a no-win situation and no one won.

01:04:25

No, zero. And I feel the most interesting part is like, I'm very curious to see how Blake Lively— if Blake Lively, I think based on last night she will like return to public light and how her Q score will either, you know, decrease or increase. Justin Baldoni, like, wasn't that big of a star before, and if anything, he's probably come out on the other side, like, more famous and maybe a little bit more well-liked by his fans. Like, you know, they're a zealous group. Yeah, I am really curious of how she comes back from this, if at all. People really just fucking hate her.

01:04:56

I feel like for her it will come down to whether or not she has like good friends in this industry who will take up for her and put her in movies and cast her and stuff and give her deals or whatever. Because she can go to any event she wants and, you know, she can post on Instagram as much as she wants. Like, if she's going to be in the next Star Wars, you're going to fucking see Star Wars.

01:05:15

Yeah, but the thing is, she never really was— she wasn't like a major actress. She's like Gossip Girl.

01:05:20

I know.

01:05:20

And she's done like some of the worst movies ever.

01:05:22

She's going to like have to get back to work in a mini—

01:05:24

she has to be in Transformers. Yeah, she needs to be like a major Marvel Yeah, I do think that her and Ryan have deep roots in the industry and people like him. Um, I think that's what got her into trouble. Remember bringing Hugh Jackman to the, to the meeting? Taylor Swift, that like, to me, that's just, that's an issue. The Taylor thing, it doesn't, it really does not help her case.

01:05:43

What if Taylor came to you and said, Claudia, like, she's like, you have to get off Team Blake?

01:05:49

Great, where do I sign up? Do you think I give a fuck about these people?

01:05:53

So you're saying Taylor came to Yeah, right.

01:05:55

No, Taylor's coming to me. Where, where am I? Where is this happening? Like, I, I don't really care. I don't know these people at all. Like, this means nothing to me. I don't know.

01:06:03

You're Team Taylor more than you're Team Blake?

01:06:06

Yeah, of course. And so like, I do— I just like, I genuinely have empathy for Blake. Like, to become the most hated woman in America because like you felt that you were sexually harassed, like, that's insane, you know? But like, the losing your best friend— like, what, what, like, what did you do to Taylor? Like, seriously, that, that's That's the most confounding part.

01:06:21

And what if it's really— even though I don't believe that this is, otherwise Taylor Swift's really like the worst person ever— if it's really that like her friend was, you know, in all this drama and she didn't want to be caught up and she dropped her?

01:06:33

Like, I just don't think that's the case, especially because there's like depositions and stuff. Like, Taylor is like slightly involved, like that meeting. So there's more there than just, oh, I don't want to be friends with you. And Taylor literally could never be that person because is Blake and Ryan were like one of the very few from like that girl gang era, and then she got canceled, Reputation, one of the remaining few. Like a lot of people forget who she used to be friends with, Zendaya, like people she never speaks to again. So they are ride or die.

01:07:00

Yeah.

01:07:03

And it's crazy because when Taylor— I can't think about it too hard. Yeah, but it's crazy because when like Taylor and her were best friends, like I didn't really like Blake, so I was like, oh, can she have like a better friend? And now like I kind of like Blake.

01:07:13

You should.

01:07:14

Like, yeah, wouldn't it be great if they were friends like my two girls?

01:07:17

But don't you think it's weird that Taylor's lost like at least two like best friends this year? Kelly and Blake.

01:07:25

Kelly's different. I'm sorry, like Kelly and her were so fast, so furious. They were friends for like literally less than a year. That's not the same as Blake.

01:07:31

No, you told me they were friends for a long time.

01:07:34

Did I?

01:07:35

Yeah, cuz I remember thinking they— or their friendship started from that video, um, with Miles. I thought that was— yeah, but you said no, they were friends for longer. Yeah, I think—

01:07:45

when did I say that?

01:07:47

When we were talking about it.

01:07:48

But that's not what I think, so why would I say that? I don't know. Were they?

01:07:53

No, I thought that's when it started.

01:07:58

I don't think so.

01:07:59

No, that remains one of the great mysteries of my life. Yeah.

01:08:03

And yeah, No, but Taylor's— I think at a certain level, like, it's just hard to keep friends, to be honest. Like, you are so famous and so rich and like so culturally impactful that like it's not like, you know, breeding grounds for long-term female friendships. There's a lot of jealousy, you know, disloyalty, betrayal. I don't know, I don't know.

01:08:24

I understand.

01:08:24

So are you— it sounds like you're sort of alluding to Taylor being the problem.

01:08:28

I have to leave space for it. I'm not saying that, but I have to like— I have to consider it. I have to consider it. Yes, but I'm not—

01:08:34

of course you have to.

Thank you, Turt-to-be. Oh, I'm wearing the Got2b Wax Stick right now.

01:13:13

Oh good.

01:13:13

Yeah, in this little updo that I have going on. Also, I'm cracking up because look at the front page of the Daily Mail right now. Just go to dailymail.com.

01:13:21

Uh, what is it about Lauren Sanchez Bezos? No, it's dailymail.com. Is it me?

01:13:26

No, no, no, no, it's about Blake Lively. Lively snapping at the red carpet helpers.

01:13:31

Oh, Blake Lively snaps at Met Gala red carpet helpers in wild diva moment after settling legal battle. She really didn't. Like, she's just telling people how to use her— how to like touch her dress.

01:13:39

Yeah, but that's crazy. That's literally the front page of the world news, not even like entertainment. That's like—

01:13:45

she is so hated. I'm sorry, I feel bad for her. Like, that's— people don't understand. Like, I'm an empath and I'm a woman who supports other women, and like, so yeah, I feel bad for Blake Lively. And so has my support.

01:13:54

And you just know, even if she's the biggest bitch on the planet, she wasn't about to be a bitch last night publicly, right after she buries— and she's been in this legal drama for a year and a half, like nothing out of her mouth. You weren't gonna catch her in a bitchy moment. So the fact that they're trying to make something of this is really infuriating for her when she was on the best behavior.

01:14:15

Absolutely.

01:14:16

Um, our next story is an article that came out in Vulture The masterminds of reality TV. So Vulture has put together a roundup. He gets his dick—

01:14:27

it's like a list—

01:14:27

the roundup, a list of the 30 most powerful people in reality TV in 2026.

01:14:34

And I want to talk about this for two reasons, because one, I think the list is deeply flawed, and two, there's drama with Nick from Love Island. So let's talk about it.

01:14:41

Okay, so the list includes 30 stars, executives, hosts, podcasters, and franchises that are shaping the future of television's most tantalizing genre. So here is—

01:14:51

and I just think it's a crazy list. Sorry, I keep cutting off. You go. Uh, no, I'm gonna read to you the list, and I just want to say the list is, I think, poorly done because like there's so many fucking randoms on there. And then I'm like surprised that somebody like Andy Cohen would sit for this while he's on a list with like Amaya Papaya. It makes no sense.

01:15:08

I know. So Amaya and Nick from this season of Love Island were both on the list. Oh, I can't.

01:15:16

And I just think that, like, fucking list— I think that those are both, like, poor choices. This is a show that aired a year ago, and their cultural impact is not really relevant anymore. And, like, they're not shaping— for what this list said, what you just described— they're not shaping the reality, the future of reality TV.

01:15:32

No, they're not. And pick one person from this season of Love Island if you must. I would pick Alandria. It's possible that didn't know this list was gonna be a big deal and turned it down. Um, but I certainly would not pick Nick, who's just riding her coattails, and I would not pick Amaya, who did not mastermind anything. She just sort of accidentally fell into being America's Heroic because like Ace was mean to her once and everybody hated everyone else. Like, she did not mastermind.

01:15:58

No, but like, the show is over. Like, no, I can't remember any of these people's names. They're on this turnt Beyond the Villa show. Like, it's not— but what's interesting is that it's clear that whoever wrote the article about Nick is a Nicolandria truther. And I just want to say I love her because the article about them, about Nick, calls him just like a strategic— basically using a lot of nice words to call him like a moocher, uh, reference the fact that they were coupled up for a week and decided that they have no chemistry and they don't like each other. So they're in this fake relationship, this business partnership. Yeah, basically saying riding her coattails. Nick then like tweeted like, you know, you flew me out to like, you know, shoot me half naked and write these mean things about me. He like tweeted about it.

01:16:35

I just want to say in?

01:16:36

Oh, I don't know, but I just want to say slay to the person who wrote it. Like, finally the Nickelodeon truthers will be heard.

01:16:41

I just want to say, as much as I agree with their assessment that he pivoted from his connection to, you know, go with what the fandom was feeling, I actually felt like they were trying to give him credit as a mastermind, as a strategic person, as someone— because like the, the intro of the article is like, these people, you know, know how to move the show forward and going to keep you engaged and blah blah blah. So they were actually like, I think, just trying to drill home their point point that he's a mastermind of reality television, not that he's a user.

01:17:06

Correct. So I—

01:17:07

he, he should be insulted like for a different reason, but not actually— they were trying to give him like some credit of him being smart. Um, whatever. Here's who else is on the list. We have Jesse— Jesse Draper from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

01:17:20

I'll— I agree.

01:17:21

I agree. Because even if— I mean, it doesn't age like great after the voice note right now, but like, she is still moving reality TV forward.

01:17:28

What they're doing on that show is is—

01:17:30

if even if you take the voice note at its worst, like, that actually makes her even more of a mastermind, right?

01:17:35

Yeah. No, no, her place on the list is not—

01:17:37

this list, like, really didn't have any judgment. Like, if you're the worst person on your show, like, no, it was really meant to be like the people who are keeping you, like, hooked on reality TV.

01:17:48

So, so Jesse Draper, yes.

01:17:49

We had Lindsay Hubbard from Summer House, yes. Um, was Sierra on the list?

01:17:53

No.

01:17:54

Ariana Maddix is on the list as a host.

01:17:57

And no, I think that's wrong. Like, maybe at one point, but sorry, this is not a person who was ever really moved reality TV forward. She's just like fell into this situation.

01:18:06

But I do think that they could have used her as like a symbol of Love Island and not had the other two. But to dedicate 3 spots to Love Island when it's like not even on the air right now and the cast changes every season, right?

01:18:16

And I heard that somebody else is hosting this season. I don't know if that's true.

01:18:19

Oh, I heard she's hosting. Oh, she remains to be seen. Um, Nick Viall showed up for the podcasters. Perfect.

01:18:27

If you're gonna have one podcaster for reality TV, that feels fair.

01:18:30

It does feel fair. It could have also been Alex Cooper because she does often— they— reality now, like, she does some reality. Nick does really like all reality. All, you know, they watch everything.

01:18:41

I, I approve.

01:18:43

We have Whitney Carson from Dancing with the Stars.

01:18:45

Approved.

01:18:45

We have NeNe Leakes.

01:18:48

Approved. Even though she hasn't been on reality TV for a while, her legacy remains unchecked.

01:18:52

It's true, um, and she is returning and it was a big deal. Yes, but it does feel like a couple years late. Um, I cannot get into the article because I'm not subscribing to Vulture, but we also have Tiffany Pollard.

01:19:08

Yeah, same thing as Nene, like, yes, her impact is undeniable, but a little overdue.

01:19:14

Yeah, and it's not— they— this is like the 2026 year, so they could have just been like, you know, reality star Hall of Fame. That would have been more accurate.

01:19:22

Kathy Hilton, also, like, I love her, but I don't think she's moving reality TV into the future.

01:19:28

Another accidental queen of reality TV. She's not masterminding. Alan Cummings was on as— and he is a mastermind.

01:19:38

Andy Cohen, obviously a mastermind. Michelle Visage, I know you don't know who that is, but she's like one of the long-time— from Drag Race, RuPaul's Drag Race, and she's honestly legendary. That's a good one.

01:19:47

But so not everyone sat for this photo shoot? Because I'm not seeing like these pics of like Kathy Hilton.

01:19:52

No, they all have their own covers, so I'm going through the covers on Instagram. On one cover now they have Taylor Hale, Ezra Sosa, and Parvati Shallow.

01:19:59

Ezra Sosa?

01:20:01

Ezra is from Dancing with the Stars, so they— Dancing with the Stars people.

01:20:03

But like, I didn't feel like he was like the, the diamond of the season.

01:20:10

Parvati, uh, Shallow is from, um Survivor.

01:20:16

We also have Kristen from Top Chef and Traders. She's the host of Top Chef, so like, fine.

01:20:21

Um, and Brooks Marks question mark.

01:20:23

Oh right, Brooks Marks. Brooks question mark.

01:20:25

This list is turnt.

01:20:27

Yeah, I like the idea.

01:20:29

So they have Riley Burruss, who's Kandi Burruss's daughter, and, um, on Next Gen, I think also with Brooks. So Next Gen is a show that literally has 3 viewers and they have 2 people on this list.

01:20:41

The list is flawed. The premise is good.

01:20:44

Ryan Serhan, I'll— I agree.

01:20:46

Yep.

01:20:47

Stacy Rush, who is from Real Housewives of Potomac, and Kristen from Top Chef are on one. Then Whitney Carson and Amaya. Like, I don't understand Amaya. Oh, that's it. Okay. Yeah, uh, poorly done. I, I'm saying I give it a 3 out of 10.

01:21:00

Yeah, but they were trying to do something.

01:21:03

How Brooks Marks and Andy Cohen are on the same list, like, I just— I don't get it.

01:21:09

No, me neither. And they were really toggling between like Hall of Fame and this year.

01:21:13

They're confused. Yeah, bad list. Try again.

01:21:16

Try again next year. But they did like sexy cover shoots and— yeah, no, it could have been great.

01:21:21

There are some legendary—

01:21:23

there was budget.

01:21:25

Absolutely.

01:21:26

Yeah. Our next story, um, a trend that's happening. Pussycat Dolls are canceling their reunion tour in North America after taking an honest look at weak ticket sales. So a couple of people like canceled and postponed tours this week. Post Malone postponed by 3 weeks, and because he says he's like working on his new music. Just plan better.

01:21:44

I believe that. Yeah, I believe that though, because it's clear when somebody's canceling for poor ticket sales or not. And Post Malone are obviously canceling because of poor ticket sales. I don't know who they thought— there is no like fandom.

01:21:56

No, there's not. And like the people who are, like, like me, like we're at home, like we're not just like taking in a concert like for the fun of it right now. Like it's got to be Megan Trainor, poor ticket sales.

01:22:07

I do think that like with outside like streaming numbers, TikTok, I think it leads a lot of people to thinking that they have more fans than they do.

01:22:15

Mm-hmm.

01:22:16

And it can be, I, I imagine like kind of confusing to book a tour these days because you could have like so many followers on TikTok, so many streams, and sometimes it just doesn't translate.

01:22:26

Yeah.

01:22:26

Yeah. There's not like a rule, there's not an algorithm to follow that's gonna help you figure out how many people are gonna show up.

01:22:32

Yeah, it's true. So Pussycat Dolls, uh, were the latest to cancel their tour. Um, I didn't even know that this was happening, honestly.

01:22:41

I did, because did you see the viral video of Nicole Scherzinger?

01:22:45

No.

01:22:46

Oh my God, you will love this. So she was asked a question. It was kind of a pointed question. I forget exactly what it was. Um, on like a Good Morning type of— oh, here, listen. They asked her a question and she actually could not answer. Um, after they found out that you guys were coming back as a trio, not as the— oh yeah, the other girls aren't coming back. How did you arrive at that? How did you arrive at that decision? Well, I mean, listen, we are just— we are like— we are so— as women today, I mean, it has been an ever-changing— and the other girl chops it. How fucking funny is that?

01:23:25

Because there is drama with the other girls. It's just like really cursed. And Cole Scherzinger is like so successful right now in like very highbrow fields. Like, what is she doing?

01:23:33

I know, I think maybe she thought it would be like a cash grab and then it had completely—

01:23:36

you just need to like let sleeping cats lie.

01:23:40

Absolutely.

01:23:42

Um, so those are the stories.

01:23:44

I love that.

01:23:45

Those are the stories. Happy Met Tuesday. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have like more after-party stories, find out if like Sabrina fell in love, right?

01:23:55

Yes, I need more after-party looks and stories.

01:23:57

Stories. Yeah, so that'll be tomorrow, like insider gossip, you know. Hopefully DeMaximo's on the case.
