Good morning, girlies, it's The Toast. It's Jackson, Claude, and we're your hosts.
It's your favorite show, the fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, it's The Toast.
I sound amazing.
Welcome back to The Toast and happy Tuesday. Hope everybody's having a great day.
A great day of the twos.
I am feeling, you know, I'm just kind of leading with gratitude today.
And what are you feeling gratitude for?
Well, I almost LML'd on the way here.
LML'd? Lost my life?
I almost lost my fucking life.
Well, I lost you on the road.
Okay, let me tell you.
Usually we pull out together. I'm either in front of you or behind you.
Yeah, you like have an obsession with sitting in traffic. I took the back roads today.
I don't have an obsession.
You're obsessed with sitting in traffic.
I was also like rolling calls, so I wasn't really like looking at where I didn't even notice there was traffic. I was just sort of in it.
So I was cruising as one does, and like out of fucking nowhere, the biggest turkey came flying across the street. I literally— it was like one of those commercials. Like, I stopped. Like, you know the Subaru commercials when it's like they show you like what could have happened if you were in an accident? I never stopped so short in my whole life. I must have been probably a foot away from the turkey. I almost— I came so close to killing the turkey. And he was just like flying across the street without a care in the world. My heart was racing. I literally just came back to like normal.
Wow.
Yeah, it was crazy.
It's Turkey Lurkey time.
That's what I was gonna say. It's Turkey Lurkey time.
You have to read the children's story like about Turkey Lurkey.
Oh, I know Turkey Lurkey from the—
There is a story like about Turkey Lurkey. I'll get it for you.
Okay, because Turkey Lurkey is just that song from that movie.
No, but it originates from somewhere, and I'm pretty sure it's like a children's story.
To me, like, it sort of begins and ends with Camp, the film.
I believe also it has to do with— what's the one? The chick, like, who hit his head?
Humpty Dumpty?
No, that's an egg. The chick—
well, it was gonna be a chick. Chick Boom Chicka Pop?
No. Turkey lurkey.
I'm not familiar with the turkey lurkey lore at all.
I'm gonna get you a present.
You know what, like, I'm good.
The good thing about the turkey though is like, if you had hit the turkey, you would— no, you would have been fine. It's not like a deer where it's like, if you hit the deer, the deer breaks the windshield, it's on your lap, right?
Unfortunately, what they say is like, if you are gunning for a turkey, like, if a deer comes out of the road—
they say about deer, not about turkey.
About deer, they're like, for for your own safety, like, you actually should continue to floor it. You actually should go faster because if you like stop short mid-deer, first of all, the deer is in your lap and the deer's still alive, so it's like kicking you. They say like you should definitely try to kill the deer. That's just what they say.
If you— if a deer crosses the road as you're crossing, the deer— go faster.
It's just funny, like, what little like life tips stick with you. That deer thing has always stuck with me. I actually saw a TikTok like a couple of months ago that I keep thinking about because it can't possibly be true. It was from these like 2 female, like, self-defense experts, and they were just giving, like, little tips. Like, if somebody tells you this, always do this. And they're like, if someone, like, holds a gun to you and says, like, get in the car, um, first of all, I believe this, like, the chance of your survival drops by, like, 98% if you go to a second location with them. They say that, like, you should run even though he has a gun, because, like, statistically it's harder to hit a moving target.
Okay.
And I just, like, I don't know if I believe that you should run.
Like, you think you should get in the car?
No, I don't think you should get in the car either, but, like, there's a gun to your neck.
Mm-hmm. Like, I don't know, I just feel like I'm not really seeing like the, the tidbit.
Like, what?
Like, of course you should run, but like, if he has you, you fight.
Yeah, but like, if you run, you're just right there.
Like, I don't know, I don't know that he really— like, I don't know what his intentions are, honestly. His intentions are to get you into the moving vehicle, not necessarily to kill you.
That's true. Oh, that is also what they said, like, a lot of the times, like They're just not trying to kill someone. They're bad guys, but killing like in public, like it draws more attention to them. It makes it like harder for them to get caught. So like, shoot, they were just saying like almost like call their bluff, and I was like, I don't know, it's like kind of risky.
Like, but like you might as well, because what do you have to lose? Because the other option is getting in the car, right?
Right. At that point, like you unfortunately don't have good options.
You don't have much choices. Yeah, choose yourself.
Just funny what like life survival tips stick with you. Yeah, like they always say, like if you ever run into a a bear, like walk backwards and clap and like hold your hands up, right? Yeah, I don't know about that one either.
I don't know.
They were always telling us like what to do with bears because we went to camp.
Last night I was driving home late. I went out, I had a day yesterday. My college friends came to visit me, so we're like having, you know, a little college reunion. They're out in the Hamptons, and so yesterday we had lunch and we laid by the pool. We went out to dinner, we went out like late, and I was driving home and like I was seriously driving so slow. I was so scared to see a deer.
Night in the Hamptons is really scary.
It's crazy.
There are no streetlights.
So Rebecca drove with me like halfway and she taught me how to use brights, which was great.
Oh, you didn't know how to use brights?
I knew how to use brights, but I didn't know that like when the signal set has like a green light on, that just means your headlights are on. And when that turns blue, that means your brights are on. Cause I like to—
and if somebody's coming the opposite way, you have to turn your brights off.
Of course. But I didn't know when my brights were on and when they weren't. And then when I turned them on, I was like, oh, you could see. Okay.
Yeah.
And then there was light. Yeah. So I was really nervous to drive home, but it was another check off the box. It's funny because when we were in college, I didn't drive. I didn't know how to drive. I didn't have a car, but like my friends did and they drove me everywhere. And like, it was just like part of life. It was just a fact of life that like I just didn't go anywhere, whatever. And now like driving my friends, it's so crazy because I've never driven them before. And it's just crazy to think about, like, you bitches had all this freedom when we were in college. Oh yeah, you guys were doing this. Yeah, you were doing this cruising. Then Rebecca said it was probably good that I couldn't drive or have a car.
She would have gone home every day because I would have never been there.
I would go to Utica and go to the mall. Yeah, it's true. I just would have always needed—
it forced you to bloom where planted.
I would have always needed a break. It's true.
Or you would like literally drive home, like, I'm not feeling it, let's go home.
No, and I already went home like once a month, and that's through hitching rides, you know, train, plane, however I could get there. Yeah. So if I could get myself home, I would have gone home all the— even more, which is crazy. So she's right, it was for the best that I had to bloom where I was planted. It's true. But I'm like, you know, with lifelong college friends, it's crazy that you guys could just like pick up, just I'll just go get sushi in Utica.
That is also crazy to think about, that like kids these days— I mean, back in our day too, but like 16-year-olds can just like go places. I know, not on my watch.
No, it's great. I'm happy for them. I'm just jealous that like I didn't have it sooner, but I guess there was really a reason, you know?
Yeah, they're really forced to.
So we're just having a grand old time.
That's really cute.
I feel like, like such a mom, like my college guys.
It's kind of giving like Netflix movie. It is giving like the college moms like all getting together. Yeah, I love that.
Just like little reunion going wild.
So Thank you.
Mom's gone wild.
Went like, literally, I'm driving 10:30.
I got home from dinner at 10:45. I was locked out of the house. Yeah, I know.
I'm just so crazy because I'm—
I haven't conducted my investigation as to—
just so you know, I had no part of it because one thing about me and Ben is like, we sleep good knowing that like you every night lock every door and window. Like, I leave every door open. I'm like, I'm not worried and I'm not locking it because I'm like, that's Jackie's job. Yeah. So I thought for sure there was no way you would get locked out because who would lock you out but you?
I know. And when I left the house, I made sure the door was open. And I did check, and then I came back and I was locked out. So I do think the culprit has to be my husband, but he said— he said he made sure the door was unlocked for me.
We're talking about the front door. Um, yeah, I had no part of that. I, I don't lock doors.
Sometimes, like, doors are funny. Sometimes doors can, like— no, it wasn't a funny door situation, but, like, you know, when the interior lock is on and you don't know. No, the interior lock. Ben's always doing the interior lock.
Oh my God, Ben is always leaving front doors open, like It's insane.
Yeah, like where you like, yeah, jigger it so that it's like clicks.
Yeah, yeah.
So someone did that to me and I was— I don't know what I would have done if no one—
the garage—
I don't have the code. And then like, you wouldn't have the code? No, but like even if I did have the code, I would have— it would have to be an hour before I did that because you would have flipped.
No, no, no, I was dead asleep. Like, I— that wouldn't have woke me up. It wouldn't have. Okay. Yeah, and I would have known it was like an emergency. Okay, you need the garage code.
Yeah, I do. I'll tell you, but then I had already locked the garage door, so— got it.
Okay, so you were locked out?
I was truly locked out. I was gonna start throwing rocks at the window.
Okay, Juliet, let me in. Well, that wouldn't have woken me up, so—
no, no, for Zach. Yeah, Zach is a light sleeper. Yeah, he is. So yeah, it was just fun. We're having another girly day today.
So cute. Just—
and I'm wearing another seamla.
I'm wearing shorts.
I loved wearing a dress on the show yesterday. I was so comfortable.
There's a little flaw in my system. I'm sweating.
Yeah.
So I wore shorts today, just like embracing swirly summer because I knew that there was a blanket waiting for me at the studio. I'm really warm. Yeah. And that's something I'm just struggling with.
But I'm also excited to use this as an opportunity to get more Hill House dresses because I've always felt like I've had— I have enough Hill House, but I only have enough for like 6 days of work, so I need more.
I love Hill House.
I know, so I'm gonna get more dresses.
So cozy. More. I heard they're opening up a store actually in Palm Beach.
Oh nice, they have lots of stores.
Everyone's kind of like freaking about it. I mean like Hill House x Palm Beach is like such a big deal.
Yeah, that's like Hill House x Williams-Sonoma. Yes. Which really like moved the needle in my life.
You know they had a mahjong set?
I did know. I didn't know. I'm OMM loyal.
I'm Oh My Mahjong loyal too, but what I've realized, and obviously this is like easy for me to say now that I have 100 sets, but you really only need one. Like you really only need one.
It's true.
And I love all my sets, and like, I hope like to one day have like a beautiful display case. Like, how people have like craft rooms, I'm gonna have like, um, and that's great and all, but like, I use one.
Yeah, all you need is one.
Unfortunately, all you need is one.
Yeah. So that's what's new with us.
Yeah. Just really quickly, I wanted to backtrack when we were talking about bears. I feel like something that happened to me, like, I don't talk about enough. I don't think I've ever brought it up on the podcast. Um, share your truth. It's like the time I did come face to face with a bear. I'm being— I knew you weren't gonna believe me.
I know, I believe you do. Sure, tell us about it.
It was actually when you went to camp in the Northeast, like, it was a big problem. Like, you weren't supposed to leave like a lot of garbage out because like a lot of times you'd wake up in the morning, all the garbages would be like overturned because like the bears were like out in the night looking for food. And one night it was like, it wasn't late, but it was nighttime, and we were like all hanging in the bunk. And like, I went to— if you were in a bunk, like, you know, like they had like little garbages in the bathroom, but like the big garbage, like if you just throw away like food or whatever, was outside on the porch. And I went to throw something out on the porch and there was like legit a bear like on my porch. And I just sort of froze. Actually, I'm having déjà vu. I think maybe I have spoken my truth before. Um, but when I think about like all the—
to the spot—
all the great— no, I acted like a champ. Like, boom, I flew back into the bunk, locked the door, and I like told everyone to hunker down.
Um, saved lives. Yeah.
And when I think about like the great things I've accomplished in my life, like coming face to face with a brown bear— I always forget, but like, I did that shit.
The bear was on the porch.
Yes, he had like So, you know, there's like a couple of steps up to the porch. Like, he was on the steps.
He was on the steps.
Yeah. And like, it's just, you never know how you're gonna react in a moment of like sheer panic. And I slayed. That's at a young age, mind you. I must have been like 15 or 16.
Yeah, that's good to know that you're capable.
The year was 2009 of acting with haste. Exactly. And I was in this bunk. It was when I went to Seneca. It was like a double-decker bunk. So like, the— obviously everyone wants to be on the top floor, but like the top floor went to like the cool girls who had been at camp longer. And so like me and my friends, we were like relegated to the bottom. Like, whatever, it's more fun than those.
I think I'd want to be on the bottom. I wouldn't want to be on—
yeah, well, like, you know, just like people are like— people are obsessed like having the top bunk. Like when you're a kid—
no thanks, I'm a bottom bunk. You put your pictures on the bottom.
And so they never knew.
And then you could see pictures when you're sleeping.
They never knew trauma like I knew. They didn't have to deal with the bears. It was like us being left down on the bottom level to just sort of like fend for ourselves and protect the bunk. But I did.
And you protected those ingrates on the top floor.
Actually, I never know. I threw a T-bone steak up to the second floor and I said, bear, get them! So yeah, that's sort of like one of the many things I've accomplished.
Amazing.
Yeah, right? Yeah, amazing.
Wilderness woman.
Wilderness woman.
Plus she saved a turkey today.
Oh my God, literally friend to animals. I've obviously been campaigning against the butterfly, um, eugenics center happening in our dining room.
The butterflies are thriving, you guys.
I heard one died this morning.
This morning?
But like, these butterflies keep dying, and then Zach is over here being like, you guys are wrong, they're not dead.
So like, oh yeah, he looks it up on chat, and like, the— it will be like, the butterfly's doing this, and they're like, they're fine, they're just like figuring out how to flip over.
Yeah, I guess we're like here whispering today about the dead butterfly.
Oh my God, I missed that. I must have been getting ready. I guess we're 3 days out though from the freeing of the butterfly.
That's a day like that I'll— as an animal rights advocate who's seen Blackfish documentary, that's a day that I'll be celebrating.
Seriously, like, I haven't participated in the most performative animal rights activists of all time.
Nobody eats more meat than me.
I—
nobody hates their dog more than me. So true. I have not participated in this abuse, um, but I will be present for the release day.
Obviously you've been campaigning for it. Yeah, finally.
That's definitely something I'm excited about.
Yeah, I'm—
because animals are friends.
I agree.
Not entertainment. Not food. I would never— I would never eat an animal byproduct.
You would never?
Never.
Not fashion?
No, no, never. Not a friend?
Not a friend.
Today's Tuesday, which means we does have— we does have— we does have deer toasters. Um, the rumors are true, I deleted Alendria, and I think we should—
unfortunately, we don't have Nicolandra updates today.
Oh really? I saw she spoke. I thought you were gonna choose—
yeah, just like I'll slip it.
It might have been like a thread just being like, you know, we accomplished so much this year. She's talking to like her fans who are like seriously ill in the head. They're coming for us because we keep clipping. We're rage meeting like the Nickelodeon fans and they just keep calling us like fat white bitches. Like, that's what they're calling us. One of them said we were fat white bitches with receding hairlines. Excuse me, I am fat and I am white, even though I am technically an ethno-religion, but let's not get into it. I don't have a receding hairline, bitch. Okay, like, let's speak facts.
Okay, that's crazy. Where do you see such—
and when you guys are calling us fat, like, we just had babies.
Yeah, what's your excuse?
Oh, this is all happening on TikTok. Would you like me to read some of our hate comments?
Oh my God, I want to see them.
It's funny, I hate when you like need to see something. Download TikTok if you need to see stuff.
No, I can't see it that bad.
Let me do—
I don't want to read this filth. I was going about my day having a good time. I didn't know we're getting hate. I had no clue.
Y'all, this Toast podcast, count your days. Okay, white women with receding hairlines hating on Alandria, what's new?
Is that a problem for her, the receding hairline? Like, community hating on her?
I'm not sure. Um, Alandria is contacting her lawyers, I'm sure.
Sure she is. Um, Not that bad.
No, no, they're on the toast. Let me— you really want me to pull them up here? Okay. Why do you guys have so much smoke for Alandria but not Nick? I actually think we're equally—
you're not paying attention.
And we hold Alandria to a much higher standard.
No, but they're— that's why, like, you can't comment on clips of shows that you don't watch.
Hope she sues y'all too. Defamation of character, calling them frauds, that's disgusting. Ugh, the hate, it's exhausting. You would believe— it's invigorating, it's true. You would believe Alandria's with Travis Scott before her and Nick were ever being real.
Yeah, no, but I'm not even saying Alandra is with Travis Scott. I'm just saying I like the rumor.
No smoke for Iris or Papaya breaking up by reunion. I appreciate that they broke up by the reunion, by the way. No one's given Papaya more smoke than us, and no one's given Papaya less thought than us. Like, we never voted for her.
And, and Iris and Pepe, they mean—
yeah, okay. I guess there's like a lot of discourse right now with Iris, TJ, and Pepe. I don't watch Beyond the Villa, but the timeline like is not 100% legit for Iris. And remember when she left the island with Pepe and then like that day Timzee caught her outside with— um, I think there was like more to it than that. Okay. And, um, there's just like a lot of drama between the losers on Beyond the Villa.
But that sort of behavior is like exactly what they were doing on the island, where it's like she's between two guys, right?
You're testing connections.
Yeah. So she's sort of just like finishing out the experiment. I don't really have a problem with that.
I don't either.
Um, but like, sure, apples and oranges, go ahead.
Sure, Nickolândria's fraud.
Yeah, like, what are you talking about?
Like, they're multiple— I'm holding space for multiple truths. Yeah, but one thing that will always be true was that Nicolandria was never real.
No, and it's like, we can't talk about Nicolandria's fraudulence because all these other couples broke up. Like, right, just like Wes Wilson can't talk about trans women in sports because— because there's a war. I'm sorry, we're holding space for multiple truths. I can have multiple conversations and opinions, and I often do. And I guess, is that unique? I didn't think so, but maybe it is.
One thing's for sure, Nicolandria was never real. No. And that's your Nicolandria rage bait for the day. I feel, I feel better.
Okay, uh, without further ado, it is time for the Fast Five Stories that you do need to know.
And the Fast Five Stories that you do need to know are brought to you by Amazon Music.
They are, because Claudia, I was looking at my phone this morning and realized my home screen is actually embarrassing. I have a different app for everything I'm listening to— music in one place, podcasts in another, audiobooks else. It's just too much.
I get it, it's very not sweeper friendly. But let me tell you, as the sweeper in charge here, you do not have to live like that. If you're constantly bouncing between apps just to find something to listen to, there's a better way, and it's Amazon Music. We've been using Amazon Music Unlimited because it does all the music, podcasts, and now audiobooks in one app. So it just makes things a lot more streamlined and a lot easier. And speaking of audiobooks, guess who just started Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir?
It's so good, Turtloo. I just finished it, and there were multiple times where I would get home and just stay in the car listening, or maybe drive around a little more to finish the chapter. The narration is incredible, and you know how picky I am with audiobooks, Turdi. It's very personal. I know, it's absolutely TOEFL certified.
I know, I'm sold. So it's exactly the kind of book that makes errands feel exciting. So whether you're listening to your favorite playlist, catching up on podcasts, or like Jackie, completely disappearing into an audiobook, having everything in one place just makes sense.
Amazon Music— music, podcasts, and audiobooks all in one app. Download today to start listening.
Today's episode— today's app— today's episode is also brought to you by Roback. Let's talk about the category of outfit that is deeply underdiscussed, which is the outfit that can survive an entire day. We are not dressing for one activity anymore. We're dressing for the possibility that your morning walk becomes errands, errands become lunch, lunch becomes pickleball, and then suddenly you're at dinner wearing the same thing, pretending that was your plan all along. And that's why Rowback has become a staple for us this summer. It is very cute activewear, but not in a way where you look like aggressively athletic or like you're training for something. It's more sporty, pulled together. And that's really the energy we're trying to give this, this summer, especially because yeah, a lot of days we leave the house for the toast and then lunch and, you know, trips to the Cape, clam bakes. Next thing you know, it's like 6 o'clock and you're having dinner in the outfit you had breakfast in. They have really great skorts, which is such a good summer look, really flattering. The waistbands are super comfortable. They give you a smooth, held-in feeling without being tight or annoying.
And the colors that they come in are very pretty— classic neutrals but also fun summer shades that make the whole outfit feel a little bit more styled. So whether you're golfing, playing tennis, walking, doing school pickup, running errands, traveling, or just trying to look like an eligible bachelorette at an iced coffee establishment, Roback has a look for you. Use code TOAST, T-O-A-S-T, on roback.com for 20% off your first order through the end of this week. That's rhoback.com. And ladies, if you shop for your man, highly recommend Rhoback. One, for their golf stuff— Ben says it's amazing— but also they have really just like nice loungewear for men, which I think can be hard to find. So head to rhoback.com, use code Toast for 20% off your first order through the end of this week. Today's episode is brought to you by Prolon. Do you want to be your most radiant version this summer? Our first story: word on the street is that Brooks Nader has split from Taran Egerton amid Baywatch filming. She's living her best single life. So Brooks and Taron have called it quits after being romantically linked 4 months ago. Their relationship with— was casual, but Brooks ended things with him, a source told Us Weekly. She's living her best single life right now and is embracing Euro summer in Saint-Tropez. The insider adds that Brooks is having a lot of fun during her downtime from filming Baywatch and juggling additional projects she currently has in the works. She's very busy and is excited to be single.
Yeah, I mean, I did not think that this was going to be like the end-all be-all. But at one point, like, they went to Australia together, like, which is where he's from, which is kind of like a big thing to do for like a fling. And they were together a lot, like, which is what you do more so than any other, like, hookup.
You spend a lot of time together.
Well, I'm not surprised that this didn't work out. Like, I am surprised that it kind of fizzled quickly, that it was so short and like such nothing. Yeah. And I was like kind of down.
Yeah. No, I don't know why. I was just like, was like, this is different. And also because he doesn't seem like someone she would choose. I'm like, well, she must like really like him. Yeah. And no, she doesn't really like him.
Must have been fun for Taryn because obviously this is like the hottest woman he'll ever be with.
Maybe she does really like him. She's very much a lover girl, you know?
Yeah, she's not like shallow and she's not like— she's like not a slut. Like when on her show she was saying that she got married super young, I think like literally she had sex with just him. Like she has like a lot of boyfriends now, but she's not like slutty. So like for her to like go and trap— like I feel like she actually really liked him.
Yeah. So I wonder what happened. I do think like all of this will be on Next Love Thy Neighbor. I think— oh please, now.
Yeah, sure. One thing, like, I'm starting to get annoyed. Yeah, like my patience— and I'm not a patient person. I feel as though I've actually been incredibly patient.
What did you say?
Person. Patient. Patient.
Patient.
Yeah, patient. Okay, when you like don't like to wait for stuff.
Okay, I didn't know.
Yeah, patient. It's a new word of the day. Um, uh, and I feel like I've actually been quite patient with this, and time's up. Yeah, big time.
But what does that mean? What will— how will your impatience present itself?
I don't know, I just feel like I used to talk about it really complimentary, like, I can't wait. And now it's like, you know what, I can't wait. Like, whatever, I already have.
I'll keep waiting. Yeah.
And like, Hulu has released 1,000 shows since then. House of Stassi premieres today. Like, but even House of Stassi, didn't we hear about that like 5 years ago?
It's true.
And then she had to like slum it on Vanderpump Villa just to get her own show from Lisa Vanderpump, and now she got it. So I understand that these things take time.
And I just will never understand why we couldn't get the second half of the first season of Love Thy Neighbor. Like, oh yeah, it was filmed and ready to go.
Did you see the trailer for House of Sassy?
Yeah.
So I knew this, but like, they did like tease a lot. There's like a big fight between Taylor Strecker and Katie Maloney, and like, I just like, I'm so ready. Like, obviously I'm gonna stan Taylor no matter what. Like, she's my best friend and I was gonna have her back, but like, she couldn't have chosen a more worthy adversary. And like, I'm so team Taylor. I don't even really know what happened. I told her like, I wanted to watch like a true viewer. I was like Don't tell me. Um, Team Taylor. Like, I don't know what happened, but Team Taylor.
Of course.
I can't stand that Katie Maloney.
Of course. She's also your friend.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So I would have— I would have had her back regardless, but now she made— at least she wasn't fighting with someone I like love, you know? Yeah, she wasn't fighting with Stassi. I would have been like, now I'm like, no, Team Taylor till I die. Or la la. And honestly, good for her for like— I feel like it's everyone's like, Katie and Stassi back on TV together, and it's like, well, Katie doesn't do it for me. Like, I get why people are excited, like the Vanderpump rules.
People are saying that.
Yeah, like people love Katie and Stassi, like Witches of WeHo, yada yada. And it's like, I'm excited for Taylor and Stassi. About Kristen, uh, Kristen was on Watch What Happens Live saying she does not speak to Stassi.
Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, they would— like, friends aren't— some friendships are just not meant to last forever. Yeah, not every friendship can or should last forever.
No, and the Witches of WeHo like was dysfunctional at best. Yeah, it was not meant to last forever.
It's not meant to last forever. It's a moment in time. It's a, it's phase in your life, but like we're on to the next phase. So I don't even think there has to be like major tea. It's just like we have outgrown each other, we are different people, and we've grown in different directions. Yes, I think that's like totally fair, and it doesn't have to be like contentious, and there's no like, will they reunite? It's like, it's all good. Like that, we grew apart. Yeah, it's not like we're waiting for the come back together.
So all that to say, like, Hulu has churned out plenty of content in the time that I've personally been waiting. I had a whole baby. Like, get it together. Yeah, people put out shit on YouTube quicker.
Like, yeah, I think Love Thy Neighbor came out like last September. Like, it's truly almost been a year.
No, it's been more than that.
No, really? I feel like I was watching it in September.
Like, if I, if I can, like, I feel like that was like 2 Septembers ago.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Really? Oh, might be—
it's not that bad. It's not that bad.
Okay, maybe I'm like being so dramatic.
Are you, are you looking it up?
August 2025. So, okay, like Less than a year. Okay, sorry, I don't know why.
Maybe like so much has happened to me personally, and like, you just like every day have wanted it. Yeah, so every day feels like an eternity.
Wow, that's really crazy. Okay, never mind. I'm sorry for yelling. My bad.
So you'll be more patient? You'll exercise more patience?
I'll do my best.
Okay, are you ready for our next story? Some coupley news. Kiki Palmer gushes over genuine chemistry with Hot Ones host Sean Evans after New York City date. So Kiki Palmer was on the Today Show and she gushed over her chemistry with, uh, Sean Evans. She said, our chemistry is genuine. I couldn't force that if I tried. We always felt that chemistry. It's like, essentially, we met at work, we had chemistry, work husband, work wife. You just have that chemistry with people, right? Then we hang out. When she was asked about how the internet shipping them as a couple, how that makes her feel, she said, I was gagged that everybody was ready to marry me off. Guys, let it cook. They married your girl off in 2 seconds.
That's funny.
Um, she said she's not gonna let parasocial fans dictate what she does with Sean. She said, I don't let it define the way that I think. If anything, I'm always trying to contextualize things. A lot of times I feel like people get that about me. You can't just take everything at face value. You have to be critically thinking about everything you see. And then, um, yeah. And then previously she had spoken about it with Jay Shetty. Okay.
I'm like kind of scared.
Like, I know it's, it's a lot of pressure.
It's a lot of pressure. And I do feel like they were never seen again.
But I do feel like they're seeing each other.
Oh, I really hope so.
You do? Yeah, I think it's early days, and it's like not in a place where you would go on TV and be like, oh my God, that's my boyfriend. Even if he is her boyfriend, like, it's just early days, and you don't want to jinx anything, and you don't want to put things out into the public before they're solidified. You want to protect it. And I feel like that if that's what's happening, that, that this is what she should be saying, like, to have chemistry. I love that everybody loves it.
And I could also see this like being the thing that she says like when she's like not really into him. Maybe I'm just like projecting because I'm scared. I'm like, I personally have a lot— I'm like one of the people she's talking about who was like cosplaying.
Work husband, work wife. Like, wasn't great that she said that.
Correct.
It wasn't great.
It's giving dear toaster.
But maybe she doesn't like know that those terms have a negative connotation.
I don't know, like Kiki Palmer is very much of this world.
She is.
That's like why people love her. She's so real.
But of the corporate world, of like maybe regular degular?
Maybe not.
Maybe not.
You see, she had Oprah on her podcast.
I did.
She's so— I'm so glad like everyone like finally, I feel, that like understands her talent. Yeah. Took some people longer, but that's fine.
It's fine. Just like, love thy neighbor, right?
Right.
It will come, right? Um, so yeah, silently rooting for these two. Not gonna be one to put pressure on.
No, of course not. I would never. But just like sort of lapping up everything, sort of like, like, and like pinning a lot of my hopes and dreams on it.
No big deal.
No big— in a not big deal kind of way. Yeah. Yeah.
Our next story is amazing news for the cardboard sweepers out there.
Cardboard sweepers, what's going on?
For the digital sweepers, Peacock will start to be included in YouTube Premium subscription bundle starting in 2027.
You guys, this is how it starts, by the way. Like, this is how it starts, because like, yeah, like every TV network at one point, then they formed like cable, you know? Like, that's what's going to happen.
Yeah, they all buy each other up now, and then we have like big— you pay like one thing to the cable company, you pay Netflix, and you can watch Hulu and YouTube and That's cable.
Oh, that's very interesting. So I have YouTube TV. That's, that's not YouTube Premium, is it? I feel like it is, because when you buy YouTube, YouTube Premium is like for the YouTube app when you want to like skip commercials and be able to like download shit for your flight. No, but like if I'm paying for YouTube TV, I don't think you get Peacock, honestly.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
Oh, it's a new YouTube Premium bundle. Okay, so under a new multi-year agreement between NBC and YouTube, Peacock—
and Peacock—
Peacock Premium, which includes ads, will be available in a new—
so what's premium about it?
In a new YouTube Premium bundle in the US. You guys, this is just like, simplify it, okay?
Yeah, it sounds like no one's getting like a good deal here.
Just simplify it. Yeah, like if you play Geek Goop Bop and Beep Boop Bop, then you can have Bleep Boop Bop for dinner. Then your Bleep Boop Bop won't have Creep Boop Bop.
It's True, it's literally so fucking true.
Like, just simplify it. Can I have YouTube and Peacock, please?
I think that's like what you get, but only if you buy YouTube Premium, which like—
which is a new thing.
I just want to say— no, it's not a new thing. I just want to say nobody has YouTube Premium. No, it's like not a popular thing. So this is how they're like—
YouTube Premium costs $15.99 a month and provides ad-free viewing on YouTube.
I'm sorry, $15 a month to like skip ads on YouTube?
The ability to play videos in the background, download for offline viewing. We paid for YouTube Premium. Do you remember what— when, um, when Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star—
of course, that actually— that is true—
did their— did we upgraded because we were going on a flight, and so we wanted to download every episode because we were so obsessed with it.
The level of embarrassment I feel for being so obsessed. And at least I wasn't alone, like, it was millions of people, and like normal people, like, we're normal. We weren't even like big YouTube fans.
I never heard of Shane Dawson, like, and I think this was also my first foray into Jeffree.
The way I bought YouTube Premium, yes I did, I bought makeup, I was streaming every episode the second that it dropped. Am I okay? We were so obsessed with it. Why?
I don't know, I think it must have been really good.
It was, it was.
Considering all of those factors and yet we were still obsessed and you know, we're discerning women.
And for a really long time, they held the record for most sales generated on a Shopify website in a 24-hour period. It wasn't just us.
We are discerning women of taste, so they were obviously doing something. And I just want to say, like, I'm not embarrassed that we did that. I think it just shows range, right? Yeah. No, and it shows, like, open-mindedness.
But it also shows that, like, we— and maybe it's because, like, we were younger back then— but I really feel that, like, I'm sort of above getting, like, swept up in things. And I see, like, even Nickelodeon, like, I see people getting swept up. It's like, I'm not— like, you can't convince me. But you know what? I was convinced. There was a time.
But, like, like that was the truth, right? Like, what was—
you know, it was just like so not us. It was.
And that this ugly, like, man, man was like selling the most popular collab makeup. Like, yeah, men wear makeup.
Like, not him.
No, no, no, that it was like, seriously, oh yeah, that it was him.
But remember that scene when they were rearrange. So they had all the colors, but like they weren't in the palette yet. They had them in the plastic little tins. And J— I'm screaming— Jeffree was like arranging it so like how it would be in the palette, like the color story. I think that's what it was called back then. And Shane is watching him and he's like, what, like, like watching Michelangelo paint the Sistine Chapel. He's like, whoa, whoa, like it's like so dramatic. And he's just Moving eyeshadows in a square. Oh my God. Like, that was such an amazing time to be alive.
It was.
We were having fun.
And I do feel certain that like there was something there. There was that had everyone like— it was a combination including us.
Yeah, it was a combination like of the time where like YouTube drama like was really, really popular and makeup collabs like between huge companies and these influencers were like insanely popular. It was like very like King Kylie era almost. With these crazy colors. So like, I get it, I get why we got caught up, but like, like me now, I could never.
No, I know.
I guess it just speaks to, you know, maturity.
Yeah, it does. Which, there's a time and a place. Yeah, for the Conspiracy palette.
Yeah, I held on to mine for a while. Me too.
Collector's item. Yeah.
And let me tell you, that big— like, that shit was ugly. Like First of all, not one color could I use. They were like sparkly greens.
No, the sparkly green didn't make it, right? And then they made it—
they made it a separate shade because people were like so mad.
Like, they remade the palette and they included it. And like, that's— they sold even more palettes from people who had already bought the first palette because there was one new color. But let me tell you, I thought about it.
The palette—
I thought about it to buy a green color that I've never worn in my life and I never will wear.
The palette itself, that's on market, weighed £15. It was like a treasure chest with like a lock and—
oh, I didn't have that one. I—
the Conspiracy.
I got the, um, the mini, just the black square. I guess I didn't go crazy.
Yeah. And then I did become like briefly obsessed with Jeffree Star Cosmetics, and I do think that like the quality was there. Like, I think one of the best palettes like ever made was the Orgy palette.
It was great except for the names of everything.
Was like, come sucker. Like, it was just insane, and it said big orgy on top, but it was like 30 of the prettiest neutrals, like all from like beige to brown, like things that I use. Like, I don't use anything besides beige and brown on my and that was like— that deserved the hype of the Conspiracy palette. And it was just like embarrassing. My makeup artist, Carly—
yeah, like, this is the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
Yeah, can you buy it?
Like, but let me shop the Conspiracy palette. And it was like—
it was conspiracy Amazon. It was conspiracy themed because like it was a palette collab with Shane Dawson, right?
And he like does conspiracy about how Chuck E. Cheese recycles old pizzas, right? Which like Do they?
I can't speak on that.
You've seen it though, right? No. So—
oh yes, that they like make pies with like slices from other pies.
Yeah, like if you bought a pie and you didn't eat all the slices, they'll take the slices that weren't eaten and put them in another pie.
Obviously, like, it's not great, but there are people that do worse things in their restaurants.
No, that's really disgusting.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, and it's like then you see a picture of a Chuck E. Cheese pizza pie and it does look like it's connected. It's not connected. There's not harmony.
There's not like cheese bridges between slices.
Yeah, where like this cheese was broken from that cheese. Yeah, let me look at a piece of— here, like, sorry, this is really damaged.
Maybe it was just like— that is—
maybe it was just like one location, you know, or maybe this like one picture. Yeah, that is so funny.
How did we start talking about this?
I don't know. I'll find any opportunity to bring it up. Of course.
What was the story?
Why we once paid for YouTube Premium.
Oh, oh yeah, of course. Um, all that to say, very normal. I would love to get free Peacock. But not— I, I don't need YouTube Premium.
And how do you feel about ads?
If I'm paying for a subscription, there's no world in which there should be a subscription that has ads. If you're gonna give me— if I'm gonna get the free version, of course, yes, give me advertisements. If I'm paying and there's literally one commercial, that's bullshit. That is fucking bullshit. But that's like a new thing now. Yeah, a lot of these services have like multiple tiers, and some of the tiers are like, yeah, you could pay less, but you still got commercials. Commercials. I'm sorry, commercials are insane. Yeah, it's wrong.
Well, that's like Freebie is free, right?
But there's a lot of commercials, but that's fine. Yeah, and that's why, like, Blu-ray— see, I always buy—
I like to watch on Blu-ray.
I always buy like the most expensive version of a subscription service, and that's why—
big spender—
that's why I cancel them in the off-season. Of course, because yes, when I'm not using Peacock, like, I have the most expensive Peacock. I think it's like $16 a month. So yeah, like cardboard, take that in your cardboard and smoke it.
Yeah. Yeah. Are you ready for our next story, which is our fourth story? So a little more, um, updates in the Paige Paul influencer gate.
Yeah, I saw. And you know, we had posted a clip about this and people had a lot of strong responses.
Yes, it's very mixed in terms of what people are saying.
And the, uh, the store itself, I think it only proves like how normalized influencer hate has become.
Wow.
No, for real. It's like, yeah, are influencers who are awful, right? Like, they film you without your consent, or they come and like ask small businesses for free stuff. Like, of course that— are we just making generalizations now based on stereotypes of groups of people? Yeah, I don't do that. Do you?
Right. Like, I thought we were not supposed to do that. I thought that was a bad thing to do, right?
It's like the same way that like I always see videos of like a cop like being really mean, like, and then they say like, oh, she sued and she got— does that mean all cops are bad? No. Like, we're judging a group of people based on their job based on the work of like select individuals. Like, that's actually exactly what we were taught not to do, right? It's called stereotyping.
The store posted an in-feed first, a picture of the sign, and then said, our shop is a third-generation antique business about to celebrate its 100th year doing business on the island next year. In our store, we promote art and our antiques and represent over 40 artisans of all nature and arts and crafts, yada yada. No offense, but John— I guess that's the owner— didn't even know who Paige Paul was 24 hours ago. He doesn't really do social media. I had to tell him the no influencer sign isn't about her and never was.
Her comment did not say assume—
no, we assumed we did.
And I think that like she represents the culture, but she never said like I'm taking this personally. She actually made a great statement on behalf of influencers worldwide. Yes. But so they're sort of focusing on like, look, she thinks it's about herself. She never said that.
This person said, this is a cultural discussion, one to talk about openly and honestly in your own community and neighborhood.
Oh, okay.
Do you like people filming around you, talking on your streets into tiny microphones, recording themselves in your shop, recording you incidentally walking past a ring light as you quietly make your way to get a coffee at 8 AM, recording next to you as you try to eat with friends? The list goes on and on. So it's really more of a statement on influencer culture and, and the, and the annoying influencer. Sure.
But you—
and Paige responded to this in a comment. She was in our comments. I know, because someone was like, it's annoying, you know, with people are filming and blah blah blah and asking for free stuff.
Like, I agree, there are things that influencers do that are annoying. There are things that accountants do that are annoying. Like, stop trying to make me pay my tax bill. Like, I don't know why we're like focusing so heavily on what this particular industry does wrong.
Like, so the person commented saying, I feel like the no influencer sign means don't be in here making content, like come and be normal, don't be an influencer in our store. I don't feel like it means if you're an influencer they don't want you in it at all.
But that's what the sign said.
She said they could have made a sign that said that, but they didn't. They could have made a sign that said no filming, right?
No content. If you wanted it to be snarky, sure, like you could have made like a story about— no, they literally said no influencers. I'm sorry, you're not going to change.
They're banning people, not behavior. Like, I don't feel comfortable going into that store.
I, I, like, I couldn't go.
I, I can't go. And the thing is, I would never start, like, filming and, like, being obstructive in the store. And I'm the first person to be like, don't get randoms in your content, don't—
of course.
And I'm so shy.
It's like a code of ethics when you are a person who films in public. And yes, a lot of influencers do not follow that, and a lot of them also, like, you know, their shtick is, like, sort of slapstick public humiliation. So, like, they thrive on being sort of nuisances in public. Um, and yeah, that's all well and, and we can have a conversation about that, but that's not what these people were doing. No. So now you want to change the tune, like, that's not what you're doing.
Yeah. So, right, no, we're just straight up discriminating. You were—
yeah, say no filming, no Instagram, no content, right? No ring lights.
Yeah, no ring lights.
I mean, like, a ring light is distracting.
Or like annoying people. Of course. And you know what, they're not even like influencers.
Correct.
They're the wannabes.
It's so true.
Yeah, and then people like will have content, they'll have someone in the background, they'll like zoom in on that person's reaction. Like, I don't like stuff like that.
I hate that. I don't like people who film other people. It's actually like a big drama right now. I don't know if you saw this guy like went over to this couple who was like making out in a park, like a public park, um, and was filming them. It was kind of giving, um, Astronomer.
I saw about it, but please—
they're like two high-profile lawyers who I believe are having an affair, um, but it's like it's kind of like their business, like have an affair. Yeah, you know.
Yeah. And it's like with Astronomer, it was like, well, don't go to a concert together.
It was like, it was an unfortunate— like they didn't mean to, but like people go to concerts and it was like, you can't just like walk up to somebody and film them. Like, I'm sorry, I'm actually with the adulterers on that one.
Yeah, no, they're like conducting their business. What, say can't go to the park? Like, right, you know.
Right.
Are you ready for our next story, our fifth and final? Oh, you know, it's a choose your own adventure. Okay. Okay, would you like to discuss LeBron further or kind of discuss Meghan Markle on Top Chef Australia?
Shit.
Um, we could do both.
No, cuz we have to do Dear Toasters. Let's— we haven't talked about Meghan in a while, so— and I, and I saw the clip of her.
I've ignored this story for so long cuz I'm like, they're making it such a big deal. I'm like, yeah. And it's like, I feel like sometimes when we pick Meghan stories, people are like, you just want to hate on Meghan, like you always paint her in a bad light.
So I'm like, okay, so I just won't pick Meghan.
I just won't pick Meghan. Like because this isn't news. Like, when anyone is a guest judge on anything, like, that's not new, right?
And I don't pick Megan, I pick Clark. Let's talk about Megan because I saw the video, um, it like went viral of her actual appearance, and like the people were freaking out, and rightfully so. Like, it's insane. Um, people are like kind of like freaking out about this. Yes, it's outsized news for a guest judging spot.
And like, it has gotten to a point where I've actually sat down and thought about it because I just kept passing by Megan's doing Megan, and I'm not gonna get in her way, of course. But then I was like like, I don't know, for the 50th time I saw it, and I was like, Meghan Markle is a guest host on Top Chef Australia?
MasterChef Australia. Why? So I think— why I think it's interesting is because I feel like they're kind of making a sort of like obvious shift. They've sort of like, you know, exhausted the resources of America, and obviously they can't go to the UK, and Australia is like this huge other world that is like— has a lot of popular culture, has a lot of media. And so like, yeah, let's start like farming there. And I feel like she just did that event, remember, and it was in Australia, and now she's on MasterChef. I feel like they're just gonna start like milking Australia next. They're taking over the world one continent at a time.
I wouldn't say they're taking over the world because they didn't take over America.
They almost did. Like, they almost— I just want to say, like, the collective, um, like switch up on Meghan and Harry should be studied because they almost had us like by the balls. Like, everyone was obsessed with them. Like, everything they did, like, yes, that's my queen, that's my queen. And literally all it took was With Love, Meghan to make everyone— that actually was the turning point.
And his book—
no, people still like ate up the book.
No, there was like viral clips of the audiobook.
With Love, Jam. And Confessions of a Female Founder was bad. Yeah, that's like— we've always been like a little bit critical, but also it's like, here's the—
what the problem was more so, this— it's like they came to us with this story and everyone was like, oh my gosh, yes, like, please, and private. And it's like, with every move they made that was like antithetical to their mission statement, yeah, it just chipped away at what they did more and more. So it wasn't just like one thing, but like even the documentary, it's like, wait, you're putting out a documentary about this story that like, insanely private, you're getting so personal, and we're like, okay, that's a lot, but like, fine, tell your truth, tell your truth. And then it's the book, and then you go back and like, remember the Oprah thing, and it's like, wait, you guys are literally like doing the opposite of what you said that you wanted, and it's just coming off so hypocritical and phony. And then the more and more in the With Love and the podcast, it's like, wait, you guys are actually like the thirstiest people alive when you said that like you were wanting to be dehydrated.
They overplayed their hand because people in America were like giving them a lot of grace. It was like, yeah, they want privacy, but like, yes, give us the documentary. So imagine how much shit they had to do for people to like finally like really turn on them. So they've sort of exhausted all the options, and I think that they're headed west, east, wherever.
It depends which way you want to go, where you're flying from, right?
They're headed to the Outback.
They are. So, okay, I like that theory because first I was like, this is so not—
last two public appearances were both in Australia, and not on the same trip, like.
But it's like, I couldn't even imagine her being on like MasterChef America as a guest judge. Like, that's just like what, like, random former pop stars do. Like, it's just like very random, and it's like one thing that you do in the sea of millions of other little things that you do. So like, the fact that she doesn't do a lot of little things, I'm like, why this? Okay, so say they're taking over Australia, like, why start with MasterChef?
Well, I think she liked the—
maybe she learned—
like, that's what— with love, Meghan, like, wouldn't have been such a flop if it was the first thing she did out of the Brexit gate, Mexic right. I think that like the role of like Joanna Gaines homemaker is actually a good lane for her. Um, she fucked it up in America, so maybe she's like starting fresh in Australia with that, you know. She's not trying to be like an author or an actor, she's just doing food.
Food. Yeah. And she can go to Australia and be billed as like the lifestyle guru, food expert.
Yep.
Even though we know here, like, it wasn't just edible flowers. Yeah. And it wasn't expert. Um, okay. I also think based on The Crown— so that's where I'm getting my information— like, Australia really loved Diana, and they're sort of gonna go—
she definitely fancies herself a modern-day Diana.
No, and they're gonna go soak up some of that goodwill. Yeah, yeah, there's goodwill there for them.
That's true. The Australian people, like, I believe, are very friendly people, and I think they have a lot of love for The Crown. But also, like, they understand the complexities of it. Yes, they love Diana. That's a good call too. Maybe she thinks that, like, she'll be well received there. Yeah, because they're also just, like, running out of places.
Yeah, but there is a lot of like love to be had there for them that's like lingering from Diana.
From Diana, like the whole Diana left in the Outback. Yeah, that's beautiful.
Yes. Um, so I don't know, I just like— I, once I started to think about like what she did there, I was like, that's really crazy that that's where— after like the woman who was really the most famous woman in the world at one point is like slumming in on this random— she still is one of the most famous women in the world because like, she's still famous whether or not she's liked or not. Like, she's a massive deal. This random—
you would think she would like have different standards.
Yeah. And it's just like, what's, what's the, what's the plan here?
Oh, I don't think that—
you know what I mean? Like, where's the manager? Oh, I don't think the brand story— how does this connect to the next movie? You know, like, I just feel like it's just like there's no plan.
No, no, they're flying by the seat of their pants.
And at this level, and just like I said with her social media, like, I don't think she has, and she doesn't have doesn't have a social media agency or a team. She does it herself. And like, there's— where are the professionals?
There are a couple of people who do their social medias themselves and absolutely have to stop. Blake Lively being one of them. Have you ever like watched her Instagram stories? They're fucking crazy. It's a reshare of a story of a reel from a post, like with the person, original person's caption, and then the reshare's caption, and then the caption, and then Blake's caption in like funky text. And it's so long, always. It's like she has some of the worst social media ever. And actually, when she's obviously clearly trying to like come back from, from this and just like rebuild goodwill, and social media is a great place to do that, and she's really not doing herself any favors. It's awful. I heard Blake Brown Beauty is going out of business. Really?
I haven't heard.
That's just what I heard.
I haven't heard that.
Totally alleged, unconfirmed.
I like Blake Brown Beauty.
It's just what I heard.
I don't— I didn't— I don't use it so much anymore because it's too scented. But if you like scents—
yeah, like a fragrance.
Sometimes I was craving fragrance. Listen, when I met Jessie Draper and I was jealous of her hair smell—
yeah, because the hair smell like is a perfume.
I know. And it's like, but then I have to live with it 24/7, you know? Well, just—
that's why I like getting a weekly blowout, which, yes, thank you for noticing, I did get yesterday. Because they like scrub the shit out of your hair and they always use like a nice salon shampoo. And you know what, you do have like a fragrance. My hair smells great.
My hair smells great too.
For like a couple of— because it's a deeper wash than you get at home.
My hair smells great.
Let's dive into Dear Toasters, our weekly advice segment that's brought to you by Honest. Let's talk to the moms for a second, or anyone who's ever had to shop for a baby. The baby aisle is one of the most overwhelming places on Earth. There are a thousand options for everything— wipes, diapers, bath products, lotions. It's decision fatigue before you've even made it to the checkout line. So finding a brand that you trust just makes everything so much easier and giving you one less thing to overthink. Now that we're moms, we totally get it. Before having a baby, I think we thought like what was on the shelf was on the shelf, and a diaper is a diaper and a cream is a cream. Um, but that's not true. When you're making the decisions about every single product that you bring into your home, you want products that you can trust without having to spend an hour reading the label. So finding a brand that makes those choices feel easy is such a gift, and that's why Honest was created. They make baby essentials made for life's most delicate skin. Honest holds every product to their highest standard, which is the Honest Standard.
It's thoughtfully choosing the ingredients that they put in and the ones that they leave out. The baby products are hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested. Parents can feel confident in the products that they're using for messes, for bath time, for diaper changes, and beyond. And the Honest Clean Conscious Wipes have become one of those things we refuse to leave the house without. Out. They're great for diaper changes but also using them for everything else, because when you need a wipe, you just need a wipe. They're in the diaper bag, they're in the car, the studio. One of those products that make you realize that you will use constantly once you have a baby. So from their wipes to baby personal care and diapers, Honest makes products designed for the delicate details that matter most. Shop Honest, the mother of all standards, available at Amazon, Target, and Walmart. Today's episode is also brought to you by SmileSet. SmileSet delivers doctor-prescribed clear aligners for $1,295. That goes without saying. You guys have been watching the show for 8 years, and have we ever slipped up?
No, not once.
And here until today. Here are the 3 chosen today.
Hey, Swirlies, I need some advice. I just received a full wedding invite to a girl I went to high school with. She was invited to mine a few years ago. We're certainly not like close anymore, or only text with each other in the last 4 years. Are the addresses to send invites— she's using a website for RSVP which has you add in your name and then lets you RSVP for your full party. I've tried every variation of my name and my husband's name, and we just aren't on list. Do I text her and say it won't let me RSVP, or do I just wait until she texts me to ask if we can come? We received a save the date and an invitation, so I think we're in there somewhere, but I don't know how to awkwardly ask if my name is spelled wrong or if she forgot to add us. I'm a super non-confrontational person and severely awkward about social mishaps, so I'm not sure the best way to approach this. SOS from a girly that doesn't want to make a scene. She got an invitation, she got a save the date and an invitation, and like, I think on these wedding websites you have to— you can't just RSVP.
It has to say Claudia Ostre, and if that name is like in the system it'll say, okay, you're RSVP'd, but her— she tried all these different variations and like her name's not there. And I think she thinks just because they have like this kind of like fake relationship and it's kind of crazy that she was invited in the first place, maybe the girl like changed her mind or uninvited her. But I think that if you were uninvited after receiving an invitation, it would have been a little bit more overt than like your name not adding up.
Yeah, I think if she went to the trouble of sending you an invitation, you're invited. And you know, technology is funky. Like, it's true. Also, that sounds really complicated, like that you have to spell your name exactly correctly the way that they thought that you would want. So I would just text her and be like, hi, invitation was beautiful. I'm having a hard time RSVPing on the website.
Dan and I will be there.
So excited to celebrate.
Yeah. And if you are uninvited, like, she does have to tell you. So you're sort of—
I would say so excited to celebrate because like that could mean like even if we're not invited, like it can mean we're getting drinks one day to celebrate your wedding.
Like, yeah, no, I think it's safe for you to assume that you're invited. You got an invitation.
I agree. And like Like, by the way, it's not like the Oscars. Like, she can calm down.
Like, sometimes people do send a save the date and then you never get the invitation. It's like, well, you're not invited, and things change, and you got—
but this wasn't a save the date.
She did get to save the date, and you also had the invitation, so I think you are invited. Like, yeah, I don't know why.
Like, and don't feel like— no, if you're coming from a place of like inferiority, like, it's true, like, you shouldn't— you don't deserve to be invited to this wedding. Like, this wedding is like, whatever, you should be lucky to have— you should be lucky to have a girl like you.
You know, you're definitely invited. Said, right?
Dan and I will be there.
Yeah, just— yeah, don't be like, is there something wrong? Just say hi to her.
Got the invitation, so beautiful.
I'm having trouble doing the website, but I want to let you know Dan and I will be there.
So I love Dan. So excited to celebrate.
Yeah, you're gonna look beautiful. Most beautiful bride. Don't lick her ass, actually. Take it back. She's a bitch.
Don't even do the studs. Okay.
Hey girlies, love you endlessly. Help me get over an ick. I've been with my husband for a decade. We have 4 kids together. In the last few years, he has taken to sleeping naked, and it's totally escalated to him walking around naked before bedtime. I'm just like not a naked person. I like to be clothed. I sleep in pajamas. I get changed into at least my robe after showering. I wish I could just not be bothered by this, but I can't unsee it. It's so jarring to just see a full frontal penis so often. Also, when our kids come into our room, he's literally naked. He has to get changed under the comforter to quickly cover himself. To me, this is such a turn-off, but he loves it and he feels super comfortable like this.
What do I do? Okay, this is like tough but not so crazy. But I do like the idea of a robe.
Like, you get the naked feeling.
You do. And, and he could be naked sometimes, but his robe is like right there, and he can always be like, robe.
But how do you like tell the person? Because like, this is the person who's supposed to love you unconditionally, and you're telling them to put their clothes on. Like, it's just like—
you can say that to some— to your husband of 10 years, you just be like, what's with all the nudity?
Yeah, but like, you've kind of let it go on gone too long, that like it's just like—
you can make it about the kids. Yeah, like that they're getting older, and like you don't want them always naked in the world, right?
Like if letting them think that like, oh, I get into like someone's house, I can get naked.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And also like give him an amazing robe so that like he can sleep in the robe, a silk one that feels just like, like nothing. Yeah, yeah.
But then you will get the ick seeing your man in a robe, but a different sort of ick. Yeah, it's just proof like no matter how long you've been married, like you're not everyone is susceptible to an ick.
Yeah.
When was the last time you got an ick?
Hmm, that's a good question.
Yeah, I know. I should start like writing them down. It's not a lot.
It's not a lot.
I told you guys, like, when Ben stole the covers from me, um, I got major ick. Like, go to war, get out of my bed. And actually happened the other night where like he took them and like I took that— we were both asleep, actually. I'm just remembering this now. He like grabbed them for me and I grabbed them back. I'm like, fuck off. He grabbed them. I'm like, oh, you're disgusting.
I feel like he like went to use a product of mine or something. You know what I mean?
That'll do it.
I'm like, no, get out of here.
Get out. Scram.
Yeah, she doesn't want you. That sound of that girl. Yeah, scram. Get out of here.
All right, our third and final Dear Toasters. Dear Jackson Turd, I'm a girly in need of advice. My husband recently lost his mom after a fast and brutal battle with cancer, and there have been some really hard family confrontation since then. Lately I've overheard him talking to himself in the shower a few different times. It's almost like he's in the middle of an argument or having a full conversation with someone. I genuinely can't tell if he's just processing everything that's happened or if it's something I should be more concerned about. I don't want to embarrass him and bring it up. Do I casually bring it up or do I leave it alone and it's his way of working out his grief? Sincerely, a toaster who does not want to overstep.
When did she pass? Did it say? Oh, oh, sorry, before you like throw away—
yeah, sorry, like I'm done with the iPad, throw it in the garbage. Um, recently.
Okay, I would say like he's working through some stuff. Yeah, I would allow him to do so and don't like listen because obviously that's like kind of weird to hear as an outsider. I would check in on him and say like, how are you doing? Is everything okay? I— and you could even mention like, I've heard you sometimes like talking, you know, do you want to talk about it?
It's crazy because like talking to yourself like is— can be like very normal. It can also be like a sign of schizophrenia. I think a lot of people say, like, do it and it's like very healthy. Like, I know you only talk to yourself in your brain, right?
I'm always thinking to myself, like, who isn't? So what's the difference between all of that and saying it?
No, of course, like, I—
but only like in private, like triggered by a big trauma.
And the fact that he's doing it in the shower, which like for people, some people sing, like it's very good.
Oh, you're making fun of me because I said I—
we have a viral clip where Jackie was like, I don't talk to myself, but But like, no, you're like, I mean, I talk to myself, but like in my head. And I'm like, yeah, that's called thinking.
One of the most vital— it feels very conversational. Of course.
Like, that's called having a brain.
Like, I just feel like I'm always in conversation in my brain, you know? There's a difference. Sometimes I'm just thinking like, uh, up in the clouds, and other times I'm like, other times I'm loitering.
I don't want to like be mean, but like, you're not special. Like, that's what being human is.
No. And the thing is I don't want to be special. Like, I don't want that to be like an oddity. I don't want to be odd. So true. Special is odd. Agreed.
It just feels different. I just want to be—
I just want to be like—
yeah, like, why stand out when you were born to fit in?
That's like that new trend of like people who are sheep, where it's like, in a world full of Botox and filler and cosmetic enhancements, this is me. And it's like the person in the crowd. Yeah, no, in the crowd, just a sheep. Yeah, not the one going against the—
I know, it's like I can't always be this like individual creative.
I can't always be— as someone who's a maverick, I don't also want to be special.
I just want to be like, uh, a group thinker, you know? And that's how we ended up in the conspiracy theory palette, honestly.
Yeah, yeah. I, I don't want to say I want to be a group thinker. I just like— I just want to be like a regular girl. It's true.
I just want to be like poking holes.
I'm glad to know that you guys are lawyering with yourselves too.
Yeah, we are.
Like, I court.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I think a lot of people do that in the shower, so the fact that he's doing it in the shower like actually feels appropriate.
Oh right, back to you.
Sorry, sorry, let's make it about us.
Sorry, dear toaster.
Um, I didn't want to do anything. Like she also said like things have been like contentious with family members and they've been having like a lot of—
he's comfortable, he's learning.
And you know what, maybe he's slaying those arguments because of the work he's putting in the shower.
Yeah. And I would just check in like, and I would of course mention it like, you know, I've heard you talking to yourself, I just want to make sure like everything's okay, you're welcome to talk to me, but like process how you need to process. No judgment. This is a judgment-free zone. 100%. I think it's fine.
I think it's fine too.
Yeah.
