Good morning, girlies.

00:00:05

It's The Toast. It's Jackson, Claude, and we're your hosts.

00:00:13

It's your favorite show, the fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's The Toast.

00:00:23

I sound amazing.

00:00:25

Welcome back to The Toast and happy Wednesday.

00:00:27

It is hump day.

00:00:27

Don't forget to tell someone you love. And speaking of somebody I love is Jacqueline Follet, even though I'm I'm inclined.

00:00:32

Even though you don't love me.

00:00:33

I'm inclined not to love you because I need to tell the class how you almost set me up yesterday with that book thing.

00:00:40

Oh my God, I didn't, it wasn't a setup, it was in earnest. You guys saw the whole thing.

00:00:43

You guys, I went to text my sexy photo of me and my book to the bookstore and I didn't have the book thing with me so I needed the phone number so I just Googled it and they have a text service, not so you can send them content, they buy books. It's like a Strand, you know, they like buy used books. Yeah, Strand. And so you like send them what you have and how much or whatever. Imagine if I— thank God I didn't send them like my sexy photo shoot of me and my book.

00:01:07

I had no clue, obviously.

00:01:09

Sure.

00:01:09

You saw me read it. You think in that moment, like split second, I decided to pray to the Lord?

00:01:14

People pointed out in the comments that it says in big letters, they could see it on the camera, "We buy books." But like that could have been separate from "text us a photo of your book." I didn't do it, thankfully.

00:01:24

Two things could be true. They can buy books and also want sexy content. Need content for money. For their Instagram.

00:01:31

Yeah.

00:01:32

Oh, I wish you would send it.

00:01:34

I'm so glad I didn't. Like, I would have been— imagine you're like the person who runs the inventory and someone sends them like a random photo of them like—

00:01:43

and the worst part is you're not even selling the book, you just bought it from them.

00:01:47

Correct. No, no, I can't help these people at all.

00:01:49

But that could be good for your cardboard shelf if you finish it and sell it back.

00:01:52

Yeah, because, you know, I don't have my Kindle, and it's not so much cardboard when it comes to books. I don't mind buying a book. What do you do with it after?

00:01:58

Well, that's part of this cardboard mentality. It is a cardboard and sweeping.

00:02:03

Yeah, because I should say cardboard is not always financially motivated. No, no, no, no, it's about nice things. It's about gotten a bit of a reputation.

00:02:09

It's about minimalism. Like, it's about having like less stuff, less— it is also the sweeper mentality. It's not just about financials. I know that, but no, it's largely driven by finance. Of course financials are a part of the factor, but it's just about stuff.

00:02:23

Like that guy from Extreme Cheap States who is the cardboard—

00:02:28

he's the cardboard man. That's why we call you Cardboard Koji. It wasn't that he didn't have money.

00:02:32

Well, that's the thing with the extreme cheapskates. It's never a real financial situation. That's kind of like the drama on TikTok right now with Bradley on a Budget.

00:02:38

Do you know? It was like, why buy a bed if I could sleep on this piece of cardboard?

00:02:41

Correct. Like, why would I buy a new pillow when the one I got free in college 20 years ago is still standing?

00:02:45

Still a pillow.

00:02:46

That's what's going on with Bradley on a Budget. I don't know if you know, people started following him for like budget hacks and like it very quickly evolved. He's also like an extremely successful content creator now, so he doesn't like need to budget as much as he maybe once did. Um, but he just actually like lives in squalor and lives in filth and like hasn't changed his toothbrush in 10 years and his pillow is disgusting. And some people, um, have really taken umbrage with Bradley's lifestyle because it's not really— people think it's more so like expressing some sort of trauma because like the way he lives is just really not normal. And he also shares a lot, like here's how much I made this week, and he has like a million side gigs, like dog watches and, um, cleans houses and also does content. He does OnlyFans. He makes like $500 grand a year.

00:03:22

He does OnlyFans?

00:03:24

Yeah, he's— one thing about Bradley, like he is an onion with the toothbrush. Um, no, I think with like undies, like he does like sexy content with old undies. Oh, because he's not— I mean, I haven't purchased—

00:03:34

he's not gonna buy fresh.

00:03:35

I don't know, it is a business expense.

00:03:37

No, but it's not about the expense, it's not about the money.

00:03:39

Of course, of course.

00:03:40

It's about the waste, the mentality.

00:03:41

Yeah, yeah.

00:03:42

So, um, if I ever get to that level, maybe he does like cardboard sexy content.

00:03:47

I should sign up. Or if he's not doing that, maybe I should be the creator I wish to see. Yeah, yeah.

00:03:53

How you can like upcycle and be sexy, be sustainable. Financially conscious and sexy, sustainable and sexy.

00:04:00

Join me at onlyfans.org/turdy. Turdy. Um, yesterday I went to HomeGoods after the show, and I just like—

00:04:08

how amazing.

00:04:09

Yeah, it was. I just like, I needed a pillow, and I just like busied about, and I realized like I'm very much living my suburban dream here. Like, because yesterday I just like went to work, went to HomeGoods, went back to my home, like busied around the home, and I just brought the goods from— yeah, from the HomeGoods. And I just feel like I'm very much— I I didn't even realize it. Like, this is what my life would be like if I lived in the suburbs. Now that we're settled into Swirly Summer, we're not like, you know, raging every day. It's just like life in the suburbs, just going about our business.

00:04:37

How do you like suburban life?

00:04:38

It's a little slow. Okay, but I happen to enjoy this slow— like, I'm down for slow right now, actually. Sometimes I can't even keep up with the fastness of, you know, that bright lights, big city I live in. Yeah, so I am enjoying it.

00:04:51

It's also good that you're not in the city. Yes, between the planes.

00:04:55

But it's also like It's, this is not typical suburban living cuz like I'm living on a compound with my whole family.

00:05:01

Like, yeah, it would be, I think a little more boring, even more boring without me.

00:05:06

You're saying? Yeah. And like your whole family and like we have so many activities and like memories inside jokes. Yeah.

00:05:10

It's like loud and like raucous.

00:05:11

Busy. And like I can't even take a nap cuz everybody's like being loud.

00:05:13

Yeah. Which is beautiful.

00:05:15

Of course. Of course.

00:05:16

The beauty in the, in the chaos. The beauty in the chaos. Of course.

00:05:19

Of course.

00:05:19

So I, it's not like true, but it's like, would be like, but it's a small taste.

00:05:22

Yeah.

00:05:22

And you're not a suburban girl. You're a city slicker.

00:05:25

I am a city slicker. Although the more, The more I live, the more I understand like being drawn to the bucolic nature of a yard.

00:05:33

Yeah.

00:05:33

I told you Ben and I went to, um, our friend's house who like just moved to Scarsdale. They're like the first adults in our crew to like leave and, and go to this, the outer burbs. And we left with like a yearning. Ben more so than me. Ben's never lived outside of the city.

00:05:46

And Ben is such a city kid.

00:05:48

He, it was more so like the grill and the patio, which I totally get.

00:05:51

Like, I mean, everyone has something, right?

00:05:53

Like, right. Sometimes it's a pool that draws you. Sometimes it's land. Ben is drawn by like the barbecue and the patio.

00:05:59

The barbecue.

00:06:00

And yeah, I wonder if he's like having any more thoughts while we're here.

00:06:06

Yeah, we have a barbecue.

00:06:07

We do, and we've used it twice.

00:06:08

Yeah, we have.

00:06:10

Yeah.

00:06:10

So what draws you?

00:06:11

A lot more cleaning.

00:06:11

What draws you, HomeGoods?

00:06:13

Oh, what draws me to suburban life? Let me think.

00:06:15

Like what's your favorite part?

00:06:16

I got it. Big fish, small pond.

00:06:18

Oh.

00:06:18

It's like, oh, that girl, there's an influencer who lives here. Whereas like if I'm just in the city, I'm like one of 100 podcasters, you know?

00:06:24

Yeah, yeah.

00:06:24

But if I have, I'm like the podcaster of my small town.

00:06:25

Yeah.

00:06:27

It's just like a lot of attention and things like that. Yeah, everyone's like, "Turdie's here." Yeah, like, "That's the girl." And then when I'm like at the local grocer, "Are you the girl with no job?" "Yeah, that's not the one." I don't know, that's what I find attractive.

00:06:40

I was actually thinking about the no jobs today.

00:06:42

In what sense?

00:06:44

I don't know, I was just like thinking about like how I'm always like, "No job, no job." Are you? I'm down with no job.

00:06:50

I mean, you are a no job, so I don't know why you're talking about it if you're not in it.

00:06:53

I'm like, "Yeah," like when I want you to change your handle.

00:06:56

Oh, that's what you're thinking about?

00:06:57

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:06:58

I'm not—

00:06:58

which I've totally like moved on from, and I feel like any— I was actually wondering like what a branding expert would say, and I feel like—

00:07:05

get one on the pod.

00:07:05

We should. I feel like they would say to keep it.

00:07:07

Yeah, I'm not even totally opposed to swapping it. I just think I'm giving up a lot, and I'm not gonna do that. But there are so many people— when I think of like Ariel Charnas, like, she slays. And we do still call her something Navy, um, the Blonde Salad, Kiara Frogg. I feel like that's how you really become like a celeb, like your, your name. Although I feel like everybody knows my name, Charity.

00:07:26

Yeah.

00:07:26

And I wouldn't even know, but It's not like I have a good backup, like, because I'm not gonna go by Claudia O'Shea, right? I would have to go by Turdy Lou Global or something, you know? And then it's like I'm getting another stupid nickname, so I might as well just stick with the one I have.

00:07:37

Do not do another stupid nickname. That's what I'm not gonna do. This exercise, it would be Claudia O'Shea?

00:07:43

No.

00:07:44

Okay.

00:07:45

Like, I love my name, obviously it's my name, but like, yuck.

00:07:48

Okay.

00:07:48

Like, I'm just a girl with a name. Girl with a name.

00:07:52

Girl with a name.

00:07:54

No, I'm, I'm good with where I'm at.

00:07:55

No, no. And I've, I've completely made peace with it, and it's probably for the best.

00:07:58

Like, and not to be like so drama, but like, it does feel nice to have like a public persona. And like, my friends know me as Claudia, you know?

00:08:05

Yeah, they— well, also like Turdy is your public person, right?

00:08:08

The artist known as Turdy.

00:08:09

I'm cracking up. Someone said in the comments yesterday— sorry, wait, why?

00:08:14

For cutting you off, which I just did, which I get comments like that all the time.

00:08:17

But more—

00:08:17

yes, it must have been bad yesterday, which is so funny because before the show started, I so tired that I was like, you know what, just let Jackie do it today. Like, some days you're in, some days you're out. Meanwhile, this toast just like sparks something in you when these lights go on. No matter what you're feeling, you just like figure it out. Um, but I was getting a lot of hate, and I see the hate, and you guys are probably right. I will do my best, and my best is probably not good enough.

00:08:40

I saw a comment like accusing us of like concealing, like, of like having made like a conscious decision to like not share our personal lives, like go the Alex Cooper route, because I guess like because we're together, we don't have like a lot of catching up to do. Yeah, we don't like say things to each other that have already been said, but like they want to know what we had for dinner. They want— and like they want more PFFB.

00:09:01

So like, okay, sorry.

00:09:02

And I just want you guys to know, effort has been made. No conscious effort has to be made. It's just—

00:09:05

wouldn't share more—

00:09:06

it's born of the fact that I can't tell you what I— I wouldn't tell you what I had for dinner because we had it together. But maybe we need to like storytell to the third person. Storytell. And we've never really done that before, but like, I'm down. We had pizza last night. It was really good.

00:09:17

Oh, I'm so glad you liked it, because like I sort of took charge.

00:09:19

We ordered, which we haven't done since we've been here. I'm not really into like delivery.

00:09:21

We We also haven't really talked about the fact that Fork of July has been like a little bit different this year because actually the studio that we rent also has a kitchen. So I mean, dream come true. So Ben goes once a week, films all of his videos.

00:09:33

I think he told us that when he subbed for you.

00:09:35

Oh, okay. Well, it's been really good for our work-life balance, and I think that in past years we've sat here and talked about Fork of July ad nauseam, but it really hasn't been that big of an imposition this year.

00:09:44

Not at all.

00:09:45

Except on the days that he films, like, we don't get dinner because Ben's gone all day long, or sometimes he'll come home with the food that he— but he just started filming Salad Week, so I told him to just you know, give it out to the people at the studio. No one eats salads.

00:09:56

Sounds amazing.

00:09:57

So I took charge and I ordered pizza, which everyone in the house is like, not dying. Ordering it in the Hamptons is like, first of all, not to be cardboard, it's so expensive. Like, it's insane.

00:10:05

It is.

00:10:06

There's not a ton of options and it's just like, it's not amazing.

00:10:09

No.

00:10:09

So this was the first time we ordered in, but like, we needed food. We had no meat defrosted. Ben was gone. And you know what? I became the leader that I wish to see in the world. I just, I didn't even ask people what they wanted. I just, me and Ben had lunch at this place in Sag Harbor last week. When I got my book, shopping local, also eating local, and they were on Uber Eats. I was like, oh, you know what, I've eaten it, I know that it's good, I know what we ate, and I'll just get it for everyone. And I didn't realize like the portions were really small. I got like so nervous that I wasn't ordering enough food for everyone. Thankfully there like was extra, barely. But do you know, it's hard to be the person who's like in charge of ordering for a big group.

00:10:40

Do you know my theory on ordering in is like it's a scarcity mentality. Yes, people will like the food you ordered more if there's not a lot of it. When you order so much food, it just all looks like slop. There's so much like extra and like it just It looks like, oh, we hated it cuz there was so much extra. Mm-hmm. But when there's a finite amount, like people really appreciate the little that they get and like this scarcity makes everyone like it more, even though we are maybe a little hungry, it will go over better. I've noticed that like anytime I order for the family, when I order like heaps of food, we just have like piles of slop and it just doesn't look enticing. And when I order less, everyone's like, oh, I really wanted some of that. Yeah.

00:11:16

Okay. Well then I slayed because we had, we had a good amount. We had a good amount and like everyone was fed. But it was a lot of pressure. Like, as I saw the driver approaching, I was just like, I know I didn't order enough food. These fat bitches are gonna come for my neck. Yeah, but you know what?

00:11:27

Nobody wants to be the leader. No, scarcity. When you're ordering in, scarcity mentality. Not if you're like hosting people, right? But when you're ordering like for your family, for your hungry family, flip it on them.

00:11:38

Okay, well, I did, and everybody liked my— even though like not having dinner last night, like I went to bed like hungry, you know what I mean? Even though we had dinner, but like, like you said, scarcity.

00:11:48

I did say so.

00:11:48

I woke up this morning and I was like, Ben, What are we having for dinner? Defrost the chicken. We're having— we're now calling them Chinese chicken nuggets because the kids love them.

00:11:55

The kids love them, but it is chicken rocks, and he is forking in our kitchen today.

00:12:01

What?

00:12:01

Yeah, because— and he's fine. He said like he doesn't have enough time in the studio kitchen to do 7 recipes, so like he had a couple more he needs to do. So, but they pair nicely with chicken rocks. Okay, so it's like an egg roll salad. Yum. And I just make fried rice or something, an Asian salad, but which we'll have with our chicken rocks. So I think tonight Tonight we'll be eating well.

00:12:20

Good, I get it. You guys seen— I've been getting so many comments like that. I actually look like sickly.

00:12:24

I, I haven't been getting comments, but I do look sickly because my lipstick is like not on the show anymore.

00:12:29

No, sorry, I meant like malnourished. Like a lot of people are like, 'Turdie is so skinny.' Yeah, this is what people are saying.

00:12:34

And I'm just gonna be applying lipstick the whole show. I can't even watch these clips. Where's my lipstick?

00:12:38

There's nothing worse. And we are wearing lipstick, but the lighting in here like doesn't really complement our lips. Um, but in real life, or like, there's something deeply troubling about a woman not wearing lipstick. Not to be like a toxic— and a face of makeup, like Yeah, oh, you can be barefaced, yeah, whatever. But like, if you're wearing makeup, you need something on your lips. Like, you actually look terminally ill if you don't.

00:12:57

So just remind me if you see me slipping.

00:13:00

Yeah, I have mine here too.

00:13:01

And then I didn't make any more headway in Off Campus, even though I've sort of like made peace with what happened. And people were saying like, it's possible if you pause the show and don't turn your TV off, that it just like sort of plays in the background and it finished itself, which I think you guys like, for the delusion—

00:13:15

That like probably happened.

00:13:17

I'm gonna like just go with that.

00:13:19

I, I would say, think it's actually safe to say that that's what happened.

00:13:22

Yeah, but last night I just like wasn't feeling well. I like took a bunch of medicine to like work itself overnight, and I think it did. Like, I had a headache, I, my eye was itching, my stomach hurt, so I just like took a bunch. I took Advil, took a Zyrtec.

00:13:35

You're not supposed to take Advil for your stomach, just saying.

00:13:37

No, no, Advil for my head, Zyrtec for my eye itching, and then I took magnesium to sort of like settle everything, you know, just sort of top me off.

00:13:45

1,000% cocktail.

00:13:47

Yeah. And then it worked itself while I slept.

00:13:49

I love popping pills. Love popping pills. When was ibuprofen invented? Like, in a way that was easily accessible to people?

00:13:56

Definitely like the '60s.

00:13:59

You're kidding.

00:14:00

I don't know. I'm watching Mad Men. I'm gonna take out the definitely.

00:14:04

I'm watching Mad Men, which is what? '50s?

00:14:07

'50s, '60s, yeah.

00:14:08

Okay, and they take aspirin like when they're drinking alcohol.

00:14:10

Okay, aspirin is Advil.

00:14:12

Okay, yeah. Oh my God, I just like, I can't imagine a time without Advil. Yeah, I'm their number one cust.

00:14:19

I don't know, but then for customer, we talk about it like also modern solutions for modern problems, right?

00:14:24

Like they maybe didn't have as many headaches back in the day because there wasn't so many, you know, toxins in the air.

00:14:29

Toxins in the air, toxins in the food, toxins in the drink, toxins.

00:14:32

But I think they still got headaches, like the women would have to go to their room.

00:14:35

Yeah, for sure. Also reading Abigail Adams' book, like when they, um, when like the tea party— what's it called? The Boston Tea Party. You know how they boycotted the taxes. And because they were putting like so many taxes on their tea that the women couldn't drink tea anymore. And it would be as if like we didn't have coffee anymore. So like, right, she said she had a headache like every day because she didn't have her tea. And that's actually when they started drinking coffee because they needed something, but they thought coffee was disgusting.

00:15:01

And like, obviously I'm glad that we are equals with men, and obviously like when we weren't, that was bad, of course. But there is something about how like women would just like it was very common, like, you would need to be excused, like, go to your room, you're feeling faint. Like, I'm one of those women, like, I, I know it's not acceptable for, like, me to just, like, leave in the middle of the day to go rest in my room.

00:15:21

To go in confinement.

00:15:22

Yeah, but, like, I feel that I like that, and I wish that that was my truth, you know?

00:15:29

Yes.

00:15:29

And it would be socially acceptable because now it's just like, oh yeah, Georgie, she never goes anywhere, she has to go lay down. It's like, yeah, I do.

00:15:34

But only if you're an aristocrat, like, was that possible.

00:15:38

Oh really?

00:15:38

Yeah, because the other women, they're head to work. They're like, you know, manning the fires. Can't let the fire— the laundry, right?

00:15:45

The children.

00:15:46

The children, the animals, the home. They're watching the homestead. So I think only if you're like upper crust could you just go to your chambers.

00:15:54

If we're like painting a picture, I obviously want to be upper crust. Like, if we get to choose, I'm choosing the crust.

00:16:00

Okay, and then you can go relax in your chamber.

00:16:03

In my chambers, being like, oh, where's Madame Claudette? Oh, she's relaxing in her chambers. Like, and I would always be like taking a tray, you know, in Downton Abbey when they weren't feeling good, they like wouldn't show up for the big formal dinner. They would take a tray in their room. Like, I'd be taking trays 3 times a day.

00:16:16

You could take trays now.

00:16:18

Yeah, but it's not the same because then I'm just like a slob who eats in bed. I feel like you eat in your bed. Yeah, I do all the time.

00:16:24

Yeah, every day. Every day, multiple times a day. Well, that's really what's been going on with us. We haven't been holding back.

00:16:33

No, I hope that everyone feels we've properly opened up And you all feel better knowing that yes, I will be excused to my chambers.

00:16:40

She will be. And that today, what's in store for us today? We haven't maj in a couple days. I feel like we're due for a maj.

00:16:46

You guys let my mahjong table get wet and covered with bugs.

00:16:49

I handled your mahjong table.

00:16:50

You did, you did.

00:16:51

It looks beautiful. Everything's reset.

00:16:53

Right, we had to.

00:16:54

And I learned along the way that you can wash the Oh My Mahjong mats in the washing machine, which I didn't do.

00:16:59

Which I think, like, I don't know if I ever like thought if I could, but I think I would have thought that.

00:17:04

And when I took our new mat, I felt like that scene in The Grinch where like the Christmas tree burns down and they like bring out a new Christmas tree immediately. Do you know that scene?

00:17:12

No, I gotta watch The Grinch. Oh my God.

00:17:14

So when I— the old mat had bugs and wet and I like unfurled a new mat, I just— I felt like I had a new Christmas tree. Speaking of The Grinch, on the box of the new unfurled mat, it did say machine washable. Oh, so like not even controversial, they're advertising it.

00:17:27

When I was at HomeGoods yesterday, they were displaying Halloween stuff, and I heard the lady behind the counter said Christmas stuff comes out in 2 weeks.

00:17:35

I saw Halloween stuff when we were there vlogging. Oh my God, and it's destabilizing.

00:17:39

It is destabilizing. I'm all about like getting in early. Yes, because I'm the type of person like Christmas starts September 1st for me, like let's go. Um, it's July, like that's insane.

00:17:47

I know, and it's like I'm down to like look forward towards the end of summer, like to with fall on the horizon, but like I just started my summer Don't talk to me about fall. And the thing is, I'm not not excited for fall, but like, give it to me in August when it's like summer's winding down.

00:18:05

Yeah, no, we're still very much like in summer.

00:18:07

Like, summer just started. What are you doing talking about fall? And I'm excited for fall. Like, I love fall.

00:18:12

It's a Gargi Pargi fall.

00:18:13

It's going to be a Gargi Pargi fall. I just know it. But like, can I enjoy my Gargi Pargi summer for one minute? Yeah. And that was first week of July that we went to HomeGoods, and then we're just like rushing our lives away.

00:18:22

Because this is every year.

00:18:24

Yeah, what if we just stopped?

00:18:28

Smell the roses.

00:18:29

But marketers gotta market.

00:18:31

I know, and I get it, I get it, I get it. I'm watching Mad Men, I get it.

00:18:34

I understand marketing, you know, everything's on a schedule.

00:18:37

Yeah, I don't want to like rehash Mad Men because obviously it's like not a new show, but I just want to say the way I fucking hate that Peggy. I know, she's the worst part of the show. Yeah, I hate that Pete too. They're perfect for each other, like truly. Yeah, I was just like, ugh, I can't stand.

00:18:53

Such a good show.

00:18:54

I was being a Scientologist. Chloe Fineman leaving SNL.

00:18:56

I know, I saw that.

00:18:57

Like, story worthy.

00:18:58

I, I had it. I think a lot of people don't know she's a Scientologist.

00:19:01

I think a lot of people think she's a Jew.

00:19:03

Fineman, she's a Jew who believes in Scientology.

00:19:07

She's a Scientologist who believes in L. Ron Hubbard.

00:19:09

I saw that and I didn't choose it as a story because like, okay, she's leaving SNL, like, so she's leaving.

00:19:15

Yeah, we'll see what happens. Like, being on SNL is just not a guarantee.

00:19:19

Mm-hmm.

00:19:20

Sometimes it is, sometimes it's not what it used to be, I feel like, where if you left, like, you were automatically a star.

00:19:25

I mean, so many things are not what they used to be.

00:19:27

That's the truth.

00:19:28

You know, nothing really is what it used to be.

00:19:32

Chilling.

00:19:34

But there's— what's the new?

00:19:36

Well, let's dive in and find out.

00:19:38

You want to dive into the stories?

00:19:39

I do.

00:19:40

Okay, without further ado, it is time for the Fast Five Stories that you need to know. And the Fast Five Stories that you need to know are brought to you by Amazon Music. Oh yes, and I love Amazon Music. I really, really do.

00:19:55

You sure? How much do you love Amazon Music?

00:19:59

Claudia, I was looking at my phone this morning and realized my home screen is actually embarrassing. I have a different app for everything I'm listening to. Music in one place, podcasts in another, audiobooks somewhere else. It's just too much.

00:20:09

Same. Research the kingdom. You do not have to live like that. If you're constantly bouncing between apps just to find something to listen to, there's a better way. Amazon Music. I've been using Amazon Music Unlimited because it has all the music podcasts, and now audiobooks all in one app. It has made things so much easier. Very sweeper-friendly mentality over at Amazon Music.

00:20:25

Yes, you're the digital sweep.

00:20:26

And speaking of audiobooks, I did finally start Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.

00:20:29

I'm so happy to hear that. It's so, so good. I just finished it and there were multiple times where I'd get home and just sit in the driveway or maybe take an extra lap around the block cuz I could not stop in the middle of the chapter. The narration is incredible and you know how picky I am with audiobooks, Turdi. It's totally toast certified.

00:20:45

Well, you have sold me. That's exactly the kind of book that makes errands feel exciting. So whether you're listening to your favorite playlist, catching up on podcasts, or like Jackie, completely disappearing into an audiobook. Having everything in one place just makes life easier.

00:20:55

Amazon Music— music, podcasts, and audiobooks all in one app. Download today to start listening.

Today's episode is also brought to you by Primal Kitchen, a company that's on a mission to change the way the world eats. They were the first brand to bring avocado oil to sauces and condiments. They were the fastest growing salad dressing brand in the US We love them because their sauces and condiments are made with real food for the real food that we love. So I think when a lot of people try to eat more whole or even like eat healthier, they do not consider their dressings, their sauces, their condiments, which are just full of crap, especially like sugar or chemicals, or just not, not whole. And Primal Kitchen saw that and they just created literal dupes, but that are so much better for you. So they have salad dressings, they have ranch, like all— I'm not a sauce person, but I'm like a ketchup condiment person.

00:25:55

People are crazy about sauces. My husband— and so a lot of people aren't willing to give that up, and I get it. So Primal Kitchen just came out with better versions of them. They taste so good. Actually, there was a thread in one of our Facebook groups of people saying like, what are your favorite Primal Kitchen? People are obsessed. They have like cult-like followings. People love the ranch.

00:26:11

Um, I like the Yum Yum sauce on my burger bowls. That's one of my favorite dinners. The kids— I love using their ketchup for the kids. They're like, it's like sweetened with honey. It's made with better-for-you ingredients, and they would never know.

00:26:21

They have Caesar dressing. Everything's made with avocado oil. It has no seed oils. It's sugar-free. There's no dairy. It's made with real ingredients. That we recognize, and it's the best addition to any salad or wrap.

00:26:31

I love their mayo. Yep, mayo is a funny thing.

00:26:34

They have dressings, sauces, condiments, pantry staples, all made with real ingredients. You can find Primal Kitchen dressings, sauces, and condiments at your local grocery store or on their website, which is primalkitchen.com. It's Primal Kitchen, and it's made for real food.

00:26:47

Thank you, real turd.

00:26:48

You're welcome. I'm incredibly real, much like Simon Van Campen.

00:26:51

Yes, you are real. That's why those allegations were So unfair.

00:26:55

Who's alleging what?

00:26:56

That we're— that we were—

00:26:57

those allegations. Once again, like, we just have to come on here and defend our character and beat the allegations. We're always beating allegations.

00:27:05

Yeah, so that's just so out of nowhere and so uncalled for.

00:27:08

Beyond.

00:27:10

Our First Story in the City aired its reunion part 1 last night, and a lot of drama.

00:27:15

I feel like more drama from the reunion than I heard the whole season.

00:27:17

Yeah, Amanda and Wes are making headlines because she was asked again about their relationship by Andy.

00:27:23

Yeah, she was interrogated about a couple of things. One, that video of them spitting in each other's mouth— she did clarify that it was an olive.

00:27:28

Does that make it better?

00:27:30

I think it makes it worse.

00:27:31

Like, I didn't think it was actual spit.

00:27:33

No, but I thought, yeah, like maybe the photo just caught them at a weird angle, or—

00:27:37

but like, I figured that she was like bird mouth-feeding him something. So okay, thanks to know it was an olive. That doesn't change anything.

00:27:44

Andy was pressing her a lot about like the status of their relationship. They are monogamous. They do not say I love you. Because Andy was like, are you in love? And she was like, I don't know how to answer that. And someone was like, well, do you say I love you? And she was like, not really.

00:27:55

And they're like, not really?

00:27:56

And we're like, not. So she was like, they say I-L-Y, like Illy.

00:27:59

So immature.

00:28:00

That's so immature.

00:28:01

This is such a bad look for her. I know, like, every time they sit down with her, it's like, this is the real Amanda, and she's gonna be honest.

00:28:07

She talked about how in the reunion that she was not her best self.

00:28:09

Even this time, she was like, she wished she showed up differently for the reunion. She naturally went into defense mode. And then Okay, so you have another chance here and you're still coming with this immature bullshit. You're, you're telling us that you say illy, like nobody can feel anything for you. And she'd be better off saying, listen, it's a little bit awkward because we're in the burgeoning stages of a relationship and we haven't said those words to each other, especially with someone who's like so love-averse, like commitment-phobic. Yeah, so just be honest with us. Just be like, like any relationship, it's been 3 months, we don't say that to each other yet, so it's, it's awkward to be asked that. But I do see that's where it's heading.

00:28:43

Yeah. No, she can't speak. Like, she then did blame Kyle because she was talking about her performance at the reunion. She was like, well, when Kyle and I fight, like, my defense mechanism is just to totally shut down. Um, and so that's what happened at the reunion. So she's just like sort of blaming Kyle for her inability to defend herself.

00:28:59

I don't feel like she—

00:29:00

oh my God, I don't know why I like have to— like, you feel like you have to defend her?

00:29:04

No, it's like, I don't know, I don't feel like I have to defend her, but I just— here's a defense because you want—

00:29:09

because she's pathetic and like, it is, it's hard to watch. You're just like a human.

00:29:13

And even like when I think about Wes Mandeville And people always wanna talk to me about it, like offline. Mm-hmm. And like really my biggest thing is like, I can't believe a person could be so stupid. Mm-hmm. As we said, a generational fumble of goodwill. Mm-hmm. Like she had the world at her feet and she threw it away. It was all about to happen for her to hook up with a guy who was so non-committal and so not worth everything that you're giving up. Yeah. So I can't understand the stupidity.

00:29:35

Mm-hmm.

00:29:36

And then I see her like this, I'm like, maybe you're stupid.

00:29:39

No, the stupidity is like a consistent thread throughout this whole saga.

00:29:42

So I'm like, maybe you are stupid. So when she's saying that about Kyle, I don't feel like she's like, you know, trying to blame him. I think she's just trying to explain away, like, here, even though it's not right or it's not good, like, this is what happened. Yeah.

00:29:56

And it's just hard to imagine. I mean, I guess time-wise when she filmed in the city, like, it hadn't fully come out yet, but it's hard to imagine why someone would keep putting themselves in these positions. Like, I will be shocked if she continues to do this show, even though I guess like the worst is behind her. Things will move on and it's like, it's all over now.

00:30:13

Yeah.

00:30:13

She— they're not on Summer House. They have this new show. It's not Wes, it's just her. It was the big focal point of the season, and like, the show will move on to someone else and something else.

00:30:22

Yeah, but like, if she's on it again next season, it will be her and Wes if they're still together.

00:30:26

And you know what, it should be. Yeah, I think Summer House will suffer without them. I do. Yeah, we're just gonna get the same like Jesse and Sierra will they won't they again. Like, I'm good.

00:30:36

Yeah. Danielle chimed in saying she was disappointed to learn that they were still together because it did seem like in that aftermath episode of Summer House that she might be thinking about leaving him. She said, I honestly hate that you doubled down and are pursuing this relationship with him all the way, going to Italy with him. I know you had to make a decision one way or the other. I just wish for you that you would take some time just for yourself and be alone.

00:30:56

Like, I'm torn because I hate Danielle, um, but these days I actually like— I feel for her. She and her baby's in the NICU, um, and I just like, seriously, like, that's my mama queen right there. So yeah, you just say what you have to say.

00:31:09

Say what you're saying. Like, that's an obvious point. Yeah.

00:31:12

Thanks. I think she feels like— because she really was like a part of so much Summer House lore, and it sucks that like this season— is this the second season she's not on, or the first season she wasn't on? Was she on last season?

00:31:22

She may have been like more friend.

00:31:24

Okay, well, like the first season she's gone from is like this explosive— becomes this global news story. So she wants to get her piece in, like Dara had her moment at the reunion.

00:31:32

I know these people too.

00:31:33

Yeah, I'm also a part of this. Like, sure, sweetie, say your piece. Yeah, that sucks.

00:31:38

Yeah, so at least this seems like the most recent. Even with the aftermath, it was like, well, this is null and void because we saw them in Italy.

00:31:45

1000%. We know that she made the decision to continue the relationship.

00:31:47

This is where we know them to be at right now. They're together. They don't say I love you. They're monogamous. They're going full steam ahead, and it doesn't seem like she's like changed really at all.

00:31:59

I don't want anyone on YouTube who's watching like to think that I'm drinking milk.

00:32:03

She's— can I just clarify? It says boxed water.

00:32:06

Oh, okay, okay. I'm drinking water out of a carton. Like, this is so crazy.

00:32:10

It is crazy.

00:32:12

Why do people be doing all that? I know that it's like for the planet, but you know what this water tastes like? Box milk.

00:32:20

Yeah, that's really not a way to drink water.

00:32:24

There's a best-by date on this. I don't know, water could expire. Maybe it's because of the the box.

00:32:29

Maybe it doesn't keep it fresh. Also, there's been a lot of drama with like Lindsay and Whitney, and Lindsay posted like a really long statement yesterday, and I don't know what happened between them, but based on the statement she'd said in the reunion, she cried for 6 months about something that Whitney said.

00:32:41

Whitney basically like, she said over the course of the reunion that Lindsay used the mom card a lot, and she had said it because they went on a trip and Lindsay was like, well, I want the best bedroom because like I'm away from my kids or whatever. And Lindsay— Whitney before Lindsay said anything, she was like, I didn't—

00:32:57

I misspoke.

00:32:58

Like, I meant it when I said the thing about the room, but I shouldn't have used it as like a blanket statement for your behavior. And then Lindsay like couldn't let it go. She was like, I cried for 6 months when I heard you say that.

00:33:08

Yeah, it seemed like from her statement she said something in retaliation that she like almost regrets. Like, and she was just trying to like give context as to like where she was coming from and how she was having a really hard time. And even though like she is someone who seems so strong and would like never let anyone see her weak, um, she's just explaining like what the last year was like for her. And it's like, even though we knew all of those things, her like, like laying it out, everything compounded. Yeah, two shows, custody battle. I mean, she makes it look smooth, but it's probably not because when is it ever? New mama, breastfeeding, hormones, learning, first one in the friend group to have a baby.

00:33:39

Like, she's had a year, 100%. She never appears like weak or vulnerable. She's just like Lindsay, Mama Lindsay, and she always has it together. But she is a person.

00:33:49

I give grace, 1,000%.

00:33:51

When like, she's also shocked that like Whitney's the one who kind of rattled her. Whitney's so timid.

00:33:55

Yeah. Yeah, but when the strongest person that you know is like, hey, I'm having a hard time, like, can you just be nice to me? Like, listen. Yeah, because they're not saying— they don't want to be saying that. It's not like victim. They don't always go to the victim card. It's true.

00:34:09

There are a lot of people who it's like, I actually can't feel bad for you. Like, how are you always a victim?

00:34:12

Yeah, always victimizing yourself.

00:34:14

Always down and out.

00:34:14

Always like want to be seen in a position of like weakness and like— because that to them is strength, I guess. But not Lindsay. So whatever she's saying, just give her grace.

00:34:23

I agree.

00:34:24

I don't know what happened. But I'm Team Lindsay. Yeah, probably. That feels right.

00:34:30

History is any indication.

00:34:32

Yeah, yeah. I mean, so I think all in all, In the City like did well. People liked it. I didn't keep up with it, but like it made news.

00:34:40

And yeah, yeah, no, and there is room for it on Bravo. I think that Summer House, like the graduates, we're sort of waiting, and this is a good solution. I think they have too many cast members.

00:34:50

Yeah.

00:34:51

And a lot of them are like genuinely unimpactful. Yeah, obviously they have to expand outside of like the 5 Summer House people, but it was a lot of people. Like, they were all crunched into Andy's studio, uh, Watch What Happens Live studio. It's like a crunchy-ass reunion.

00:35:03

Even this like paragraph, there are so many names. Lindsay Hubbard, Kyle Cook, Amanda Batula, Danielle Oliveira, Ian Heavey, Andrea Denver, Lexi Sundin.

00:35:11

I feel like they didn't like— I know, we keep going. I'm counting.

00:35:14

Nick Barber, uh, Yvonne Najor, Georgina Furzel, Whitney Franzway, Kenny Martin, and Gavin Mosley.

00:35:21

That's 14 people. That's way too many. That's too many.

00:35:28

Well, good job.

00:35:28

I think a good first season.

00:35:30

Yeah, the place looks great. Our next story, Olivia Rodrigo has a new man.

00:35:36

I know, and he's sort of like a Wall Street man with a job. He's a Wall Street power player, former field hockey player. I see there's, there's like such limited internet about it.

00:35:44

Yeah, I know. So they went to his LinkedIn and here's what we know about Olivia Rodrigo's new boyfriend because pictures surfaced online of her and a mystery man named Julian Kronenberg at the airport. No, most definitely not. It's—

00:35:59

if I showed you the spelling, you'd probably be asking, 'Cause Kronenberg sounds Jewish.' Oh, no, no, no, not the R-G-H.

00:36:07

Um, but he, according to his LinkedIn, went to Brown University, studied applied mathematics and computer science, and previously previously worked as a banking analyst at Goldman Sachs. He also played for the U.S. Men's National Field Hockey Team from 2018 to 2020, and he speaks Dutch and French.

00:36:25

And she literally told us this on her album: I'm not dating any guy with a fake job, this is a real job. And she was actually asked an interview like, what did you mean by that? And she was like, everyone in LA has like a fake job.

00:36:37

Yeah, so this is a real New York— she found a real job.

00:36:40

They just went on a trip to Iceland together. I saw a picture of them at the airport coming home.

00:36:44

He, I think, like, now works like at a private equity firm or something. But like, don't— did she give you like a little bit of like, like commie vibes, like that she wouldn't go for a guy like this?

00:36:54

Oh, very interesting. I mean, all these celebrity communists—

00:36:58

being a celebrity is inherently anti-communist, so it's just like, it's this performative lip service.

00:37:04

It's just not real. Yeah, I think there are a couple of celebrity communists who are like genuine to the movement and like really walk the walk and talk the talk. I don't think Olivia Rodrigo is one of them because she is sort of with her Livies HQ doing like merch collabs with— like, please, please.

00:37:18

Yeah, no.

00:37:19

And I mean, she's also like young still, so it's like everyone's a communist until it comes to having a boyfriend. Because like, what do you want from a boyfriend? Like someone who's really rich, someone who's big and strong, who like sort of enforces those gender stereotypes.

00:37:30

Would a communist really care if he has a fake job?

00:37:33

Like, no, because according to communists, like all jobs are fake, right?

00:37:36

Right, right. And we all have the same job.

00:37:39

Everyone's a communist until it comes time to like have tax.

00:37:42

Yeah, or like, you know, do a merch drop, do an album drop, ticket prices.

00:37:47

1,000%. Everyone's a communist until it's time for dynamic pricing. Like, please.

00:37:51

Um, I just could see that like down the road like being an issue between the two because like if he works in like private equity or like hedge funds, like their core— their core principles is like money, money, money. And like he will make so much money. And like if, if she is like a little anti-capitalist, that could really come between them. That's the only like red flag I'm seeing because otherwise I love this. I think he's also so cute, very handsome.

00:38:14

And I love like the whole going for normie businessman Bo. Obviously like you're not that normal if you have like a high power finance job. You're an upper crust.

00:38:22

Upper crust.

00:38:23

Um, he can go to his room with Trey, right? But he's still like just a regular guy.

00:38:27

Yes.

00:38:28

No, I think— what did they mean?

00:38:29

I think it really all does bode well. They also like— they look— they look like they will be a cute couple together.

00:38:35

I also have been listening to her album a lot.

00:38:38

And me as well.

00:38:39

It is so good.

00:38:40

It is.

00:38:41

And I'm gonna go and say it's album of the year. I think that Life of a Showgirl will be nominated, and it should be nominated in the sense that it had like a ton of commercial success, and we talked about it a lot, like it was— but it's not the best album that came out this year. I think that her album is. I don't— I have to take a look at the landscape of like what other albums came out this year. I don't fully remember, but I— she's got my vote.

00:39:01

The year is young, but I agree.

00:39:03

When do the nomin— like, when does the era end? Like I feel—

00:39:06

oh, actually maybe soon, because remember like Tilawas came out in— when did Tilawas come out?

00:39:12

October? I feel like I was like maybe going back and forth to Florida, so like yeah, I think it was like in the fall.

00:39:19

Okay, October 13th.

00:39:21

Okay, classic.

00:39:22

Um, and it wasn't eligible for that year's Grammy, right?

00:39:26

Right.

00:39:26

So like maybe it does end in like August, in which case the year is not young. And what else did come out this year, right?

00:39:32

That's what I'm gonna say.

00:39:34

Let me go check my, like, songs.

00:39:36

What albums are eligible for this year's Grammys? This is where Chad is like, you know who I love?

00:39:43

I don't know if she put out an album or I'm just getting a spattering of songs. Sienna Spiro, she just put out an album, and yeah, she'll be up there.

00:39:51

She's probably gonna be like a Best New Artist.

00:39:53

Yeah.

00:39:53

Are your likely Album of the Year contenders according to Chad Taylor Swift, Life of a Showgirl, Rosalía, Lux. Morgan Wallen, I'm the Problem. I've been listening to that a lot. When it first came out, I, I thought it was bad.

00:40:02

It's not bad.

00:40:03

And it's not, it's really good. Miley, Something Beautiful. Best of Luck. Lorde, Virgin. These feel like last year. Justin Bieber, Swag.

00:40:12

It always feels like last year because it is.

00:40:13

But Sabrina Carpenter, Man's Best Friend, came out last year. Bad Bunny, Debí Tirar Más Fotos. That was last year. For the 69th Annual Grammys, which will be held in February 2027, albums which have been released between August 31st, 2025 to August 28th, 2026.

00:40:31

Okay, the year is not young.

00:40:34

T-Loas is eligible, but they're saying like Lady Gaga, Mayhem. That feels like— wait, August 28th, 2026. It's 2026 now. Yeah, I feel like chat has bad info.

00:40:47

I agree. I'm like trying to look through my liked songs. I like— Lou came up out with an album. Oh, Ella Langley. Ella Langley.

00:40:54

Ella Langley, I think, will be a Best New Artist contender if she hasn't. I think you can only be nominated for Best New Artist 3 times. I don't know if she's ever been nominated, but she's relatively new. I feel like she might have been nominated once. She, I think, could win. Also, her album, I do think, will be nominated for Country Album of the Year, and she will win. And then Album of the Year too, but she will lose.

00:41:15

I, I agree with that.

00:41:16

I love her. Thank you for reminding me. She's having such a year. She's having like a moment.

00:41:20

And like, for us, it is butterfly season. It's— but have you been checking on the— no, I didn't know that.

00:41:24

I forgot thought that they're like these like living things in the dining room.

00:41:28

Yeah.

00:41:29

Um, that like refuse to come alive.

00:41:29

You should like look at them before they, before they sprout wings because it's like crazy to see what a real cocoon looks like. Like we talk about cocooning, you know, we live like life goals.

00:41:41

Um, they took a tray, but you should look at what they're doing.

00:41:45

It's pretty cool.

00:41:46

I just like never go into the dining room. We have like this formal dining room that's genuinely storage.

00:41:49

Yeah.

00:41:50

Because we all just eat in the kitchen.

00:41:50

It's a butterfly.

00:41:52

And there's like spritz boxes in there.

00:41:53

Yeah.

00:41:54

I just, I never make my way into that part of the house, but I'll go check it out before they cocoon.

00:41:58

Like, I think you'll want to see like the, the life cycle.

00:42:00

It's butterfly season, I'm finding my wings. She has a couple of like true— also, um, just like that, I'm back to loving—

00:42:13

Song of the Year.

00:42:13

Song of the Year.

00:42:15

Song of the Year. Excuse me. Well, that was like—

00:42:19

No, I know.

00:42:19

I Choose in Texas. She's in Texas.

00:42:23

I just wanna be hurt so bad, it hurts so bad, it hurts so bad. I love her.

00:42:28

Yeah. So anyways, congrats to Olivia Rodrigo. I'm really rooting for her in this relationship.

00:42:32

Oh, I thought you were talking about Album of the Year. Me too.

00:42:34

And album— based on this discussion, yeah, it's hers to lose. I like her album a lot, a lot. And it's like, I like it so much and I'm kind of bummed because it's like bummer music and I find myself listening to a lot of it and I'm like, that's like not my vibe, but I like it so much.

00:42:48

And you know, I saw like an interesting— which is like very Taylor Swift coded of The, um, The Cure, which is one of my favorite songs. She talks about how in, in a different song, her— I think the whole album's about Lewis Partridge and how his favorite band is Just Like Heaven.

00:43:02

Um, that's a band.

00:43:03

No, they're his favorite song. It's Just Like Heaven. And so now, like, when you go to search for The Cure, like, if he's ever going, Olivia Rodrigo will come up instead of his favorite band, or in addition to his favorite band.

00:43:12

Oh, that's funny.

00:43:13

That's like a cutesy little thing. That's just what the streets are saying. The other Livies.

00:43:16

Yeah, that was like when people said Taylor Swift named her album Life of a Showgirl, because when you look at The Life of Pablo, you get T-Lo-us.

00:43:24

And I just want to say, I'm saying this as like obviously a proud US, but The Life of Pablo is like one of the best albums ever made. And I'm gonna say something crazy, like I actually think it's better than The Life of a Showgirl. Like, it is— it was before he went so nutty. And it's like, of course he's a crazy person, but he is like a talented artist. Yeah, he let the crazy get— and I think that that album is a masterpiece.

00:43:45

It is. I was listening to my playlist on shuffle yesterday and like Monster came on and it's just like so good. Yeah, I just— there's a lot going on, you know? And it's like if we really stopped engaging with like everybody who hates Jews, like, this is our job. So this is our, you know, we'd just be talking to each other. Yeah.

00:44:04

So we just—

00:44:05

we obviously select certain people to exclude, but we're just doing Our next story is actually really crazy. Real Housewives— what number?

00:44:13

You love to like—

00:44:13

number 3. But I know like number 3 is a safe space for you.

00:44:16

It is, it is. Yeah, it's like actually a really good space for me.

00:44:18

The Real Housewives of New York City season 16 cast photos, trailer, and premiere date are set at Bravo. So yesterday the trailer dropped for The Real Housewives of New York City, new season, couple new cast members including Erica Hammond, Daisy Toy, Hailey Glassman, my best friend, and Carol Radswell. I think the headline of the trailer is that they are discussing the Epstein files.

00:44:39

They're discussing the Epstein files, they're discussing love story Carolyn and John John, and she is a Real Housewife. She has an apple in the trailer.

00:44:47

She is in the picture.

00:44:48

Yeah, I think that a lot of people, um, it was reported at first that she was friend of, which made it even weirder.

00:44:53

Um, but maybe she just like brought so much to the show. Yeah.

00:44:57

Um, I was dying because they take a trip to a private island that I've been to. So Erica is a friend of mine. Her husband has like a private island, like a kind of like a Richard Branson type thing, and they do a girls trip and they take a trip there and they complain about the food.

00:45:09

Oh, that's funny. How was the food as someone who went?

00:45:12

Um, I don't remember it, so like it was good.

00:45:14

Yeah, you would remember.

00:45:15

I don't remember like hating it, right? Right. And you know I'm like, I never let myself get hungry.

00:45:20

Um, so yeah, I'm curious. Like, this does look good. I think the shake-ups were good.

00:45:25

Of course, I'm like dying, dying to like learn more about Haley Glassman because obviously like I feel like I'm gonna like her.

00:45:32

Like, really?

00:45:32

That just would be—

00:45:34

except I keep getting her confused with one of the other new girls I think maybe I like the other new girl, Daisy Toy, the makeup artist who does like makeup for Martha Stewart, right?

00:45:41

And that's why Martha Stewart's in the show.

00:45:42

Yeah. And then Erica— no, all the new cast members are good, including Carol. And it's crazy that they're gonna like talk about the Epstein Files. Now in the trailer, she maintains that she's never a part of like—

00:45:52

and who was it? It seems like she's having a one-on-one conversation with Sai, but whoever brought it up, like, thank you.

00:45:57

Well, also she's like in the street filming and like people are shouting Epstein Files at her, and it doesn't seem like the person who brought it up to her is accusing her of anything. They're just like bringing it bringing it up. Yeah, yeah.

00:46:09

And I just want to say, I don't believe that Carol was a part of an international sex trafficking ring, but I would like her to explain, like, what it was like to be friend— like, she is on record friends with Ghislaine Maxwell. And I think a lot of successful people were, and a lot of them were friends with her in a sinister way, and a lot of them were not. I don't think Carol was involved in, like, the sinister way, but you were friends with someone who is now, like, the face of the biggest— so, like, just tell us about that.

00:46:33

Yeah. Yeah, and like, what was your friendship like?

00:46:36

Did you ever like have like an inkling that she was maybe up to no good, or was like she like a perfect actress and like kept those things separate?

00:46:43

Carol said she never went to the island. But anyways, like very topical stuff, 1,000%.

00:46:48

It's actually crazy that Carol is back, that she would do it again, where we're talking about the Kennedys and the Epstein files.

00:46:56

But I guess like really, if assuming she's like innocent, what does she have to lose? Like going on the show, going back on the show?

00:47:02

Nothing. You know, she has nothing to lose.

00:47:04

She really just stands to gain because right now everyone just like associates her with Elaine.

00:47:08

Yeah, she could use some new associations.

00:47:09

Yeah, so that'll be good. Now it is time for our fourth story.

00:47:15

Do you think I'm ready?

00:47:16

No, you're never ready for the fourth story.

00:47:18

Today's episode is also brought to you by Branch Basics. So if you're someone who pays attention to what your family's eating, what's going on their skin, what's in their environment, you probably also care about the ingredients in your cleaning products. So when you start paying attention, you realize that a lot of conventional cleaning products contain things linked to hormone disruption, skin sensitivity, respiratory irritation, repeated exposure,— even when they're marked to feel safe or natural.

00:49:03

And that's because in the US, companies are not required to disclose every ingredient in the formulas. And even if it looks like they do, they may use generic words like fragrance on the list, which can actually legally mask hundreds of harmful chemicals. So the more you look into it, the more you understand that what you clean with— your kitchen counters, your dishes, your clothing— all has the potential to shape the health of your home more than you ever realized. And a lot of people, that becomes the moment they start craving something simpler, more transparent. And that's where Branch Basics comes in. Branch Basics is disrupting the cleaning space in a few really intentional ways. They fully disclose all ingredients on their packaging, which is something most conventional cleaning brands still will not do. They do it in a clear, accessible way. Everything is fragrance-free. It's made with human-safe ingredients, designed for everyday use across your home. It was created by 3 women who are all moms themselves that wanted something that they could actually trust in their own homes and around their families. So their line of surface cleaners is built around a powerful plant, a mineral-based concentrate.

00:49:53

You simply dilute the concentrate to different ratios for different cleaning needs. So your bathroom, your kitchen, your counters, your windows, and more. They offer dishwasher tablets that are microplastic-free. Once you get the peace of mind that it provides, you won't want to settle for anything else. So the good news is that Branch Basics is now available everywhere you shop. So it's Target, target.com, Amazon, and of course branchbasics.com. And if you go to that website to get the premium starter kit, you can get 15% off at branchbasics.com with code TOAST. That's code T-O-A-S-T for 15% off the premium starter kit of Branch Basics. 00:53:02

Thank you, retailers. Turtailors Nationwide. Great, thank you, Turtailors Nationwide. I just reapplied my lipstick if you wanted to do the same.

00:53:16

Am I looking like a little—

00:53:17

no, but I just like, I didn't— I wanted to remember to tell you. Okay, so that we could all have lipstick on.

00:53:24

And like, for everyone, it's— they're gonna like probably be dying for a link. Let me just like— this is the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb. Oh wait, I have something to tell you.

00:53:31

Oh, tell me. This is the Westman Atelier You know, the streets are saying— clean liquid lip balm—

00:53:38

the streets are saying like things are maybe going south at Fenty Beauty. I saw that they're discontinuing one of their big foundations.

00:53:45

I don't think it's happening. Okay, what do you think?

00:53:49

I think that when I look at the landscape of like makeup brands in general and also celebrity-founded makeup brands, I think that it's not at the height that it once was. But nothing stays high forever.

00:53:59

No. And also like sometimes not everything needs to be like ratata all the time. Yeah, talked about all the time. Like you have your faves, you rebuy them. And I think a lot of people have Fenty Beauty faves.

00:54:08

I'm not even like a huge Fenty Beauty fan, but I have like 3 or 4 products of— like 2 or 3 that are go-to. I have lipstick, I have, um, the Diamond Bomb eyeshadow. So yeah, it's not like a totally irrelevant brand.

00:54:21

I think maybe they've taken a dip from where they once were in terms of like being talked about, but you're not going to be talked about forever, and eventually you just settle.

00:54:28

When it comes to practical application of policy, I think They're one of the best brands when it comes to making so many shades of concealer, foundation, like super inclusive, not just of like, you know, light to dark, but like neutral, warm. I think people really like often find great matches. So yeah, I think it's a good brand. I don't know why people are saying that, but that's just what they're saying.

00:54:49

Yeah, maybe they have so many products they're scaling down a little bit to like, you know, increase revenue or whatnot, but I don't think it's going anywhere.

00:54:55

Me neither. It's also, it's a Sephora company, right? Like, they're not at Ulta. Sephora, like, creates a lot of these brands, like Makeup by Mario's, partially Rare Beauty, um, and they become exclusive to Sephora.

00:55:08

Yeah.

00:55:09

So do they not sell Fenty Beauty at Ulta? I feel like that would be crazy, but maybe they don't.

00:55:14

Crazier things have happened. Our fourth story: Jennifer Aniston has exited the I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jeanette McCurdy book adaptation. So Jennifer Aniston, she was gonna play the She was gonna be in the movie, and I guess she would be the mom.

00:55:29

Okay. Oh my God, who else would she be?

00:55:31

I don't know. I mean, there are like other characters, but, but like, if she's taking a lead role, which she's Jennifer Aniston, so she's the mom. Yeah, she is out of the Jennette McCurdy television adaptation of her hit memoir I'm Glad My Mom Died.

00:55:43

That's a bummer. That would have been good for her.

00:55:44

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ the show is still being worked on and scripts are being written. However, we're told at some point Jennifer backed out due to scheduling conflicts.

00:55:51

Sure.

00:55:52

The show has had a rocky development. Last year it almost fell apart. The show was announced in June 2025 with Jennifer attached as an executive producer and starring as the fictional version of Jeanette.

00:56:03

Like playing herself, or is she involved at all, or she just gave her book, her story to someone?

00:56:07

I'm sure she gave the story, is involved, not playing her young self.

00:56:11

I think like, you know, she's so attached to it, I imagine that it's just difficult. If there are difficulties, I would imagine that it's from Jeanette. Like, it's her story, it's so personal. And you know, they always change stuff because when it becomes a TV show, it's not really about what actually happened, it's about making an entertaining TV show. And sometimes you have to change that. And so I feel like if there is trouble, it's because of that. And she would just be better off like giving it to someone, selling it if you want to make it into something, and not being involved unless you're going to act in it.

00:56:39

Yeah, one of the directors who was like slated to do it dropped out due to creative differences with Jeanette. Um, uh, outlet reported that Jeanette was opposed to him trying to make the show more comedic than the memoir. Again, like it is for television. Like, we have to—

00:56:53

although the book, like, is pretty snarky. Like, her tone, it's not— I mean, it's obviously dark because they cover a lot of dark things, but she has, like, a funny-ish—

00:57:02

well, he wants to make it even funnier. But I also understand—

00:57:05

I love that—

00:57:05

why Jeanette's so attached to it, because it's her story, her life story, her, like, life and soul into it. But it's either, like, give it to the showrunners and let them do what they do, or don't, you know?

00:57:17

Or don't. Yeah, I think I think writers being involved is always bad. I think, um, Colleen Hoover would agree. Like, the only movie she's ever been involved in was like a shit show. When you are right— if when you write a book and it gets optioned, like, just go or don't sell it, right?

00:57:32

If it's like personal to you, you don't want it distorted, you don't want people to like think of the story that way that's like not true. And these are real characters, so like that makes it different too. With Colleen Hoover, if we think of, you know, Lily as different than what she was, it's It's like, it doesn't really matter.

00:57:44

I feel like that was the only book that she ever wrote that was like super personal, because like Lily was based on her mom. So maybe that's why she wanted to be attached.

00:57:51

Yeah, but still, it wasn't like a one-to-one true story at all. So like, she distorted the character a little bit and let the movie makers do the same. But I understand if Jeanette feels like, I don't want the world to see me this way, or my siblings, or my mom, like, if that's not how they actually were, in which case, don't do it.

00:58:10

Yeah.

00:58:10

Yeah, don't do it.

00:58:11

Maybe she's learning that.

00:58:13

Maybe.

00:58:13

You know, it's her first big book.

00:58:14

This like might be it.

00:58:15

And people forget that like before the book, she was really like not doing much. I don't know how she was like paying her bills or anything, but she wasn't a working actor, she wasn't a working writer. So this like revitalized her in so many different ways. So I get why she's attached to it, but you just gotta like sort of shit or get off the pot.

00:58:35

Yeah, it seems like.

00:58:36

Although I don't love the idea of it being turned into a comedy. Maybe Jeannette was right for that. That.

00:58:41

Yeah, I don't know. But now Jennifer leaving, I, I just think it's like, it's probably never gonna get off the ground.

00:58:46

Yeah, which is a shame because it was an insane fucking book.

00:58:49

They haven't even announced the new director.

00:58:52

You know, speaking of directors, I've been watching a lot of the press for The Odyssey, and obviously so much of the press is like just talking about what it's like to work with Christopher Nolan. And it's literally insane that Josh Peck was in Oppenheimer. Like, I feel like he doesn't get— he doesn't talk about it enough. It's like such a thing to be in a Christopher Nolan movie.

00:59:07

You should press Ben to press him about it.

00:59:09

Yeah, now that like it's very top of mind. Yeah, and I feel like when it was happening, like Ben was telling me, I didn't really understand like why it was a big deal. But like now I understand Christopher Nolan, like I get why it's a big deal. And like, that's crazy that Josh was in it.

00:59:23

Yeah, I need to see The Odyssey. I just don't know how logistically like that would work.

00:59:27

And you know, you're really supposed to see it in theaters, IMAX.

00:59:30

Yeah, well of course in theaters, IMAX.

00:59:33

They say it's like not even worth seeing it not in IMAX.

00:59:35

It's just a completely like lesser experience. Like I saw a, like, a grid of, like, the different, the different screens on, like, a standard screen versus, like, IMAX.

00:59:43

Also, I heard, like, IMAX 4D, like, the chairs are shaking.

00:59:47

I don't need IMAX 4D. I just, I want something in the middle. Yeah, you know, middle crust.

00:59:53

I prefer upper.

00:59:54

In this case, I don't need upper. I'm not going. I heard, like, Lincoln Center is the best theater to watch.

00:59:59

Oh, really?

00:59:59

There's, like, one Lincoln Center and then, like, one in California that are— those are, like, the best ones. I'm not doing all that. Okay, but I'll do more than just, like, the standard. Fine. I need widescreen even.

01:00:10

Of course.

01:00:11

I don't know what our options are out here.

01:00:14

There are actually a couple of movie theaters, although I believe they're all standard, right?

01:00:17

So maybe it will have to wait. Our fifth and final story: Harry Styles cancels a concert last minute due to mysterious health issue a month after collapsing on stage.

01:00:29

So wait, Harry Styles collapsed on stage a month ago?

01:00:34

Yeah, in England.

01:00:35

That's like crazy that we didn't know that. Yeah, not to bring everything back to like his flop era, but that's crazy.

01:00:40

I know, this is very mysterious. He canceled his Tuesday concert in São Paulo due to a health issue, just one month after he collapsed on stage in England. Um, Live Nation Brazil wrote on X, we deeply regret to inform you that Harry Styles' show scheduled for Tuesday, July 21st, 2026 has been canceled due to a health issue on the tour. Tickets were refunded. A rep for Harry said that the Friday show is scheduled as planned. However, this hasn't been his first bump in the road. He choked on water while performing his whale spit move at Wembley. That was—

01:01:11

that's not a big deal.

01:01:12

And then he was seen in the social media video falling to the stage floor. He stayed down while he tried to catch his breath for several seconds. Oh my, appeared to tap his chest as well to try to alleviate his discomfort. Then he got up and waved to the audience as he ran off stage.

01:01:27

Oh my, I hope he's okay. That's like so scary.

01:01:29

Yeah.

01:01:30

I didn't— much like Cinderella, I knew none of this.

01:01:33

Yeah, I wonder what the health issue was that's like stopping him from doing a show. That's a big deal to like not do a show, especially for like a young— yeah, male. Yeah, more than just like the common cold.

01:01:45

Of course, usually they say, I can't talk.

01:01:48

Yeah, and that like Harry hasn't said anything, it's just Live Nation so far.

01:01:53

Weird.

01:01:53

Yeah, very Very weird. Those are the past 5 stories. Feel as though you needed to know.

01:02:01

I had a good time.

01:02:02

Me as well.

01:02:03

Hopefully I didn't talk over you too much.

01:02:05

Favorite story?

01:02:06

Oh no, that's straight. My favorite part was we were talking about like what, you know, like going back to our chambers and taking trays.

01:02:11

That was your favorite?

01:02:12

What was your favorite part?

01:02:13

My favorite part was there was something in the beginning. What were we talking about in the beginning?

01:02:20

So many things. Oh, like ordering No, no. Bradley on a Budget.

01:02:26

Oh, I love Cardboard Koji, but no, I forget. I'll, I'll have to remember whenever we finish the show. I like can't remember at all what we spoke about. Like when we—

01:02:35

we're still in it though, so I can't remember, but the second we wrap, I will.

01:02:37

When we have to like choose a title at the end, I'm like, I don't even know what we said.

01:02:40

Yep.

01:02:40

What was said here at this show.

01:02:41

And I just wanna say, I watched yesterday's episode, obviously read all my hate comments, but I did really love the way my hair looked. So my $85 blowout, like I will be returning.

01:02:49

You should. Yeah, it looks so great. Great.

01:02:51

Yeah, it was, it was really good. It was like kind of giving like, like Pantene commercial, like the layers, the shine.

01:03:00

Yeah, just fun. Do it again.

01:03:01

Yeah, I'm going to. Maybe you'll come.

01:03:02

Yeah, I would love to do that.

01:03:32

I just want to say, I've been loving that. Hold on, let's see how many comments we got yesterday.

01:03:37

Emoji for today, maybe a pizza.

01:03:40

Is there a tray? Pizza— people are gonna think we're into like pedophilia.

01:03:44

Like, like, maybe not. Is there a—

01:03:45

01:03:54

Maybe not a pizza.

01:03:56

01:04:03

It's so hard. What have we spoken about? Let me check the stories again.

01:04:09

We talked about Advil. Oh, leave a pill. I love that. Leave a pill. And we'll see you on the next one. Love you. Bye.

01:04:15
