Good morning, girlies, it's The Toast.

00:00:09

It's Jackson, Claude, and we're your hosts.

00:00:13

It's your favorite show, the fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, it's The Toast.

00:00:23

I sound amazing.

00:00:25

Welcome back to The Toast and happy Monday. Ech!

00:00:28

Monday. Monday.

00:00:30

Monday. Wicked Witch. Yes.

00:00:33

West Wilson.

00:00:33

It's getting increasingly harder to do like heart hands, like num— letters with my— because of my coccydynia. I mean, no, what's this thing called? Oh, I don't have a diagnosis for it yet, but like my thumb issue, like I can't do my hand gestures. I could never join a gang.

00:00:45

But maybe you being like the first person to have this thumb issue, they will name it after you.

00:00:51

The turd—

00:00:53

turditis.

00:00:54

It's such a turditis.

00:00:56

I think—

00:00:56

look, I can barely do—

00:00:58

I think it is turditis because it sounds serious but not like life-threatening.

00:01:02

Yeah, I feel that. I don't really want to get into like my thumb because it will open up a wound that like nobody thinks this is serious. I'm living with literally a disability, like I'm ready for my handicap placard. Like I live with this kind of crazy thing that I don't— I don't want to talk about it because nobody thinks it's serious. Everyone in the family is like, oh, Turdy and her like crazy ailments, like You guys have no idea what it's like. Try being disabled for a day.

00:01:23

Try. Yeah, you feel like Yolanda, like nobody's listening to you.

00:01:25

Okay, but like, see, even that comparison is disrespectful because that bitch had Munchausen syndrome.

00:01:29

Oh, you think? No, she had Lyme.

00:01:32

Do I think Yolanda had Munchausen syndrome? Yes.

00:01:34

No, no, do you think she had Lyme?

00:01:37

At one point in time, yes, she had Lyme.

00:01:39

But when she was on the show talking about her ailments, you thought, you think, confirm Munchausen, not real.

00:01:44

Oh wait, is this like up for debate? 1000%.

00:01:46

Yeah, I think it was never settled.

00:01:47

Like, I think we just I think, like, yeah, I also think it's happening with Bella Hadid now too. She's like chronically ill. And it's like, I think a lot of the Hadid members like are malnourished. I think that maybe, yes, at one point they all happened to have gotten Lyme disease. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's Munchausen. Like Lisa Rinna has been vindicated 1000%.

00:02:10

Very interesting.

00:02:11

We were all thinking it when Lisa Rinna said it.

00:02:14

I don't remember what I was thinking.

00:02:15

She was really being extreme, like going to Seoul, for all these— in a tube and getting her implants taken out.

00:02:21

I don't remember what I thought, and I didn't even know what Munchausen was when Lisa Rinna said it, so I couldn't have been thinking it because she taught me.

00:02:28

So brave for saying she was.

00:02:29

Honestly, it was just like when Megan King Edmond said Brooks is faking cancer, right?

00:02:33

It's like, it was just like the first person—

00:02:35

I don't know who it was, but it's not like we were all thinking Brooks is faking cancer.

00:02:38

No, no, it was like the first person who said like Jussie Smollett was faking his hate crime. Like, you— to be that first person I could never. I'm such, um, like a cow in a herd, you know? Like, I'm just a group thinker. I'm like, yeah, whatever the group is doing. To be the first person to say— and sometimes people are wrong, so like, you know, you never want—

00:02:55

and then so wrong about someone faking cancer or someone faking a hate crime, like, you're the worst person on Earth.

00:03:00

Oh my God, of course.

00:03:02

But it's not like with Brooks or even with Jussie. You say now, like, everyone was like, oh, this is weird.

00:03:06

No, at the time nobody thought Jussie was lying.

00:03:09

Like, now some people say like, yeah, like, but nobody wanted to say it. No, no, why?

00:03:13

No one ever think he was like thinking that.

00:03:14

I wasn't.

00:03:15

Why would we ever think? And And then when like the narrative started to be like, "Juicy Smollett is lying about his hate crime," and I'm like, "Oh, can you get hate crimes in this country without someone coming for your neck?" Next thing you know, he fully made it up. So yeah, to be that first person is an incredibly brave thing to do.

00:03:29

Well, I'm not gonna be any sort of person that is questioning your ailment. I've seen it firsthand. Oh, my ailment? Yeah.

00:03:38

Not Taraji. Oh my God. Are there rumors about me?

00:03:41

But I've seen it firsthand.

00:03:43

Emphasis on the singular hand because I only have one functioning one.

00:03:46

Um, no, there aren't rumors about you, but you said like you don't feel—

00:03:49

I don't feel like genuinely understood, and I don't think that like the group— and when I say the group, I mean like our family— really gets the severity of it, except for Ben. And he like thinks it's like too serious because he's a hypochondriac. All the time, it's like, you have to get an MRI. I'm like, if something like— if there's an ailment that requires— and I did the EMG— if there's an ailment that requires me to get an MRI I'm out.

00:04:09

Once you did the EMG though, and like you really looked at everything and like, there's nothing wrong. It's just a very like inconvenient truth, you know? But I no longer like worry about it. I'm just sad for you that that's how you're going through life.

00:04:24

Thank you.

00:04:25

Well, happy Monday everyone.

00:04:27

Happy Monday. I hope everybody had a great weekend. We had an action-packed weekend. Like obviously I'm only thinking about the last 24 hours where Olivia finally got here.

00:04:34

Oh my God, the last 12 hours.

00:04:36

So fun. But like, let's cut all the way back. Like, the last time we were here, we hadn't filmed our award-winning vlog yet. On Friday after the show, we took Margot shopping. It was a vlog Patreon experience. There— people are freaking out. Like, they are saying it's one of our best vlogs ever. It is.

00:04:51

I watched it and I was like feeling joyful watching it as if I wasn't the one there. It was just a really fun watch, and people are asking for a part 2. Like, say less, bestie. I saw a comment today that was like, part 2, 5 grand budget.

00:05:04

Calm down.

00:05:05

I'm with you.

00:05:05

And the thing is, if the vlogs continue to be successful, yes, we can increase the budget. Because, you know, the vlogs are paid. MrBeast, you have to watch, it's a subscription. So like, yeah, go subscribe to patreon.com/toes and maybe we'll increase the budget. I don't want to say what our budget was because it's part of the narrative, like, and we're very transparent about the budget, 1000%. And you—

00:05:26

and that is also sort of the fun, like, us deciding like what we're gonna spend, like what's in budget.

00:05:31

So yeah, we can't increase the budget.

00:05:33

She can't increase the budget. We called her out on like the oscillation of Cardboard Koji.

00:05:39

Yeah, sometimes it's on, sometimes it's off.

00:05:40

Cardboard Koji oscillates.

00:05:43

Would Cardboard Koji do this? Would Cardboard Koji have this? If you guys can't see, I'm wearing a Birkin. Now fun fact, I didn't pay for this Birkin. Ben did.

00:05:54

So So cardboard Koji would.

00:05:57

Well, actually, I guess I did pay for that Birkin in blood, sweat, and tears because it was my push present.

00:06:00

In sweat equity.

00:06:02

Yeah.

00:06:02

So I guess I'm wearing a push present as well.

00:06:04

Oh, just two pushers.

00:06:06

Just two pushers.

00:06:08

She pushes people.

00:06:09

Just been pushing.

00:06:11

Just been pushing. Um, so the vlog is up, patreon.com/toes.

00:06:15

Like, match— we're matching clothes.

00:06:16

We're so brown.

00:06:17

The first outfit I put on was literally your outfit. I was wearing brown pants and like a cream sweater, and it just like didn't— I don't It sounds fine.

00:06:23

You were killing it.

00:06:24

It didn't look good. Um, the length of the sweater versus the height of the pants, you know that ratio? It's very—

00:06:29

do I know that ratio?

00:06:30

It's a very fine line to walk.

00:06:32

The length of a top is so important. Like, too long, what is she hiding?

00:06:38

No, like, too long, too short, please. Too long, you need a certain pair of pants. Too short, you need a certain pair of pants. And so the length of the top versus the length of the pants were not a match.

00:06:47

So it's just such a delicate balance.

00:06:49

Yes. So then I just wore a different brown ensemble, still matching with my swirly, and then we both came downstairs in our Birkins and our iced coffees.

00:06:55

Like, we're giving—

00:06:56

we're literally brownie. Show everyone. I really have to now pick everything just like for the thumbnail, even though we don't like do thumbnails like that, you know what I mean? For the screenshot. Matching sisters.

00:07:08

Oh my God, that was the hardest. Oh, oh God.

00:07:10

Okay, um, sisters matching.

00:07:12

Sisters matching.

00:07:14

So Olivia got here last night, which was so exciting. Friday we did our vlog with our other sister, Miss Margot, and was also here all weekend.

00:07:19

So patreon.com The Toast.

00:07:22

We will be doing a part 2 in August because it was an amazing, incredible ride, and there's more work to be done. Like, we definitely—

00:07:28

like, storyboard-wise, gaps in her wardrobe.

00:07:30

This is clearly episode 1 of like a multi-episode series.

00:07:34

So an installment.

00:07:36

An installment. I think it's actually like a miniseries, like The Queen's Gambit. Like, we've never done a miniseries on The Toast before, but I think this is a miniseries. It could have multiple seasons, you know, after proving to be successful.

00:07:47

Different subjects. We're kind of like Queer Eye where we go and I handle the more emotional elements and you handle the fashion.

00:07:51

You're tan.

00:07:54

I'm so Karamo. You think I'm—

00:07:56

is tan fashion? Fashion?

00:07:57

Yeah, you're so tan.

00:08:00

But I'm also like JVN. Hair? Encouraging?

00:08:04

No, that's Karamo.

00:08:06

You think Karamo was like emotional, social?

00:08:08

Yeah, that was like a very unnecessary piece. Yeah, it's like everyone had a very distinct job. Hair, clothes, outfit, food, home building.

00:08:19

Feelings.

00:08:20

Like, that's—

00:08:21

yeah, but the thing is, when you do change everything about your physical appearance, you do also need to work on the inside as well to make sure you're all aligned.

00:08:28

100%.

00:08:29

You can't just have like a new house, a new face, a new wardrobe, a new life, and then like on the same, like, not have done any self-work because you didn't have all those ugly things before and was like for no reason well on the inside.

00:08:39

Yeah, yeah.

00:08:40

So I actually think I was the caramo. You were I feel like you were the Bobby, like the strong, steady force.

00:08:48

Well, the Bobby is like the person who does all the work and gets no airtime. So that is me because I paid for everything and I wasn't on camera at all because we only had 2 microphones. So I had to film the whole time and I wasn't allowed to speak. So actually, yes, I am the Bobby.

00:09:00

Yeah. Silenced. Yeah. Neither of us were the Anthony.

00:09:06

No, it— I wish Anthony was there. I was starving. We didn't eat the entire time.

00:09:09

We actually had a huge meal right before and we complained the entire time that we were too full.

00:09:14

We did have such a— Margo was running late, so we like sat down and stayed in Ambrose.

00:09:17

It's in the vlog.

00:09:18

Yeah, I don't want to spoil it.

00:09:19

You don't want to spoil what she got, but I did get spaghetti.

00:09:21

It was so good.

00:09:21

We were really full the whole time, the whole day, kind of uncomfortable. Yeah. And then, yeah, it was really great.

00:09:27

So patreon.com/thetoast, that's what we did on Friday. We had such a, just a great family weekend. Lots of time outside, literally spent the whole weekend outside swimming. And, uh, kind of like the most amazing celebrity thing happened to me. When you think about being a celebrity, of which we are, like, no matter how many times people tell us we're not, like, we are. You think about the various perks.

00:09:45

So that's why I'm not an influencer, 'cause I'm a celebrity.

00:09:47

Exactly, by the way, yes.

00:09:48

I think that is what you were trying to say.

00:09:50

Absolutely.

00:09:51

But you didn't wanna like put down influencers, so just—

00:09:53

There's nothing wrong with being an influencer. We are just not, we're literally celebrity podcasters. Like, and I'm not even kidding when I say that, I'm not. But over the weekend, like—

00:10:01

And sales associates.

00:10:02

And sales associates, and yeah. So when you think about the various perks of being a celebrity, you think, you know, free clothes.

00:10:10

Yeah, like free restaurants, free reservations.

00:10:12

And of course there's that, But like, something happened to me that was like just like the genuine definition of a perk, and it only happened to me because I'm a celebrity. I forget if it was like Saturday. Yeah, it was Saturday, and we just like had like 2 more hours to kill with Foo, and like he was getting like kind of restless. So like, let's just go. We went to like one of these like kids type of gym play things, and we got there and I was like, you know what, this is good. Like, we had to get out of the house. We're pulling up, we're like kind of like so excited, and the door is locked and there's a big sign that says closed for a private event from like 2 to 5 or whatever. And I see inside there's like a huge birthday party. Somebody like rented it out for their kid's birthday party, and I was so fucking annoyed. Like, we had just gotten in the car and I just was so defeated staring at the sign. And me and Ben are like reading it and we're like, should we— like, we're like, we have to go.

00:10:52

We turn around, we turn around to leave, and as I'm turning around, the door opens. There was a swirly and she was like, it's my niece's birthday party, you can come in, like use the facilities. They were only using like the front, there's a bunch of kids. She was like, come in, use it, do you want something to eat? I was like— me and Ben were like, is it crazy of us to like take a sandwich? We didn't take any food and we just like saw ourselves in, went all the way to the back because we were using— it was like a grown-up— not grown-up, like bigger kids.

00:11:14

And you went—

00:11:15

we did a little baby swing area Um, genuinely, like, first of all, save the day because I don't know what we would have done. And like, so celebrity. She didn't say that she was a Swirly, but like, why else would she let these like two randos in?

00:11:26

Oh, so she was just—

00:11:28

I mean, she looked like a Swirly and she was like, you guys can come.

00:11:31

Oh, that's—

00:11:31

but she didn't say like, charity. I guess maybe I am assuming, kind of like I did it with the woman at Chanel.

00:11:36

You did?

00:11:37

I'm gonna tell you guys this. You guys, this is nightmare scenario. I told you guys Ben got me a really nice gift, but obviously I had to return it, and so we went to the store, we like made a whole day of it, and, um, the sales associate helping us so great. And she was like, you look so familiar. And I don't like— I want to do the whole rigmarole, pretend I'm not a celebrity podcaster, right?

00:11:56

Right.

00:11:56

So I'm like, it's probably from Instagram.

00:11:58

Yeah.

00:11:59

And she was like, yeah. I'm like, Girl with No Job. And she was like, oh no, I helped you here last summer. And I was like, oh yeah, you helped me last summer. I was humiliated, like genuinely humiliated. And that's the last time I'll assume. But I know Sometimes people have such a hard time getting there and they also feel awkward, so I just like be like, yeah, like, whatever, it's me, it's me.

00:12:21

Yeah, that hap— like, I treat it differently every time because sometimes people are like, you look so familiar, and I'm like, a hard time placing us because we're like much more beautiful and thin in person. Yes. And so, well, like a couple times I've been like, oh, I have a podcast. Like, I'll just sort of cut to the chase. Yeah, right. One time I was in the doctor's office and the girl was like so swirly, was like, you look so familiar. I was like, the toast. And she was like She's like, you're Margot's sister.

00:12:46

Oh my God, not you getting nepo sistered.

00:12:48

You're Margot's sister. I went to camp with her.

00:12:51

Screaming. No, it's humiliating. But then when you don't, it's just like you have to sit there so painful, watch people like put the pieces together.

00:12:56

So I tried to help one time. I didn't do it right, right? I didn't. And literally she goes over every friend she has in Florida. Do you know this person? Do you know this person? No, no. Have— did you go to this?

00:13:07

Were you there?

00:13:08

No, no. And then literally like halfway through, was it a meeting? Halfway through she was I seen you on TikTok. Yeah, well, there we have it.

00:13:16

Yeah, there's kind of like no good way to handle it, and I will not be doing that again. Like, that was genuinely humiliating. I was like, my Instagram? No, no, not at all. Um, so yeah, just like celebrity podcaster things, no big deal. NBD.

00:13:36

So yeah, it was a fun weekend. We're so excited Trout's here. We have to get her Maybe like a trout Queer Eye. Oh, she will never. Trout for Queer Eye.

00:13:43

Trout for Queer Eye, she'll never. I mean, I've been dying to, I literally, my dream vlog is Olivia to let me do her makeup.

00:13:49

And just put, I just put lipstick on.

00:13:51

No, no, she is so fucking particular about her makeup and she did her, she has had the same makeup tutorial. Don't ask her for an updated one, you don't need it. The video from 10 years ago still works. She did it for our Patreon like 5 years ago when we were in Utah. She has the, like genuinely the craziest method. She uses the same 3 products from Bare Minerals. They're 100 years old. The method, she carries everything still in a Ziploc bag. If you've ever wanted to watch the craziest makeup tutorial of your life, it is also on Patreon. It's just search like Olivia's makeup tutorial. It has not changed. I would love to get my hands on that face. She is the literally the perfect lips. Like, I could do so much with Olivia's face.

00:14:23

I think we should strive for that like this month.

00:14:25

I would love that. She could use all my products. Like, we have the same skin tone.

00:14:28

No, all she has to do is sit and like we film her. Of course, I love that. She would love it.

00:14:32

She would love it.

00:14:32

She will hate it, but maybe she will let it. She just needs to let it happen. She, she will let She would let it.

00:14:40

Um, and I do feel like now might be a good time to tell everyone like what we kind of haven't told them.

00:14:46

Yes, which is that there will be a small summer break here at the Toast, which has been planned all summer. There was actually supposed to be a break in June, um, but my travel plans changed, and so we just like moved everything around. And we—

00:14:57

who doesn't love it?

00:14:58

We thought it would be perfect to just do a summer hiatus, like a small summer break. We always take a— some version of a summer break, and this month, this summer.

00:15:07

There will be this week of shows, so we have next week of shows, and then we are on break until Labor Day, which is when we'll be traveling back home. So we'll get settled. We both need some time to just like adjust, and I also, um, want to just spend some time in the Hamptons like with Foo.

00:15:19

Like, yeah, just like have actual vacation.

00:15:22

So, uh, just want to warn everyone, we still have 2 more weeks left of shows. Like, don't fret. And there will of course be Patreon, so we'll still be working.

00:15:28

Yeah. Um, and we'll try and do, like, you guys know, most of the episodes the latter half of the month. So you'll have episodes when we're not doing this, and we'll like do pop culture catch-ups.

00:15:34

But starting the 17th.

00:15:37

No shows until we are back on September 8th.

00:15:41

And The Good Guys are still releasing biweekly, so you have that.

00:15:44

The Redheads are releasing— we are recording today. I spent my weekend reading the book, and it's a great book.

00:15:53

Okay.

00:15:54

And I think it's like a book that people should—

00:15:56

I've seen it.

00:15:57

Like, and you see a lot of books, and when I told people I was reading this book, they're like, oh, I've seen it. You know, Goodreads always recommends the same things. Everyone's reading the same books. But then when you read the books everyone's reading, it's like, why is everyone reading this?

00:16:05

Right.

00:16:05

And in reading this book, I don't know how it's going to end. I have like 10 more percent that I'm finish today. I'm just like, I really enjoy this book and it's a good one. And like, if you're looking for which of the like books that are everyone's buzzing about should I actually read, I'm kind of loving this one.

00:16:19

Wow. And it was a satchel.

00:16:20

And it's like not— it's nothing crazy, but it's just like the way it starts versus like where we're at now, it just like keeps changing into like— I'm almost having this experience where it's like the person you thought who's the main character is kind of not the main character. It's very interesting like journey to go on. And a very interesting what? Cojourn of Fred to go on. And if you're looking for like a summer read that like people are talking about, or a book club book that will impress, The Shampoo Effect. I'm curious to hear how the other girls feel about it, but like, I'm caring for them all too.

00:16:50

Like, I hated it.

00:16:51

I don't think there's anything really hateable.

00:16:53

I can't believe you love Sachi's Choice so much.

00:16:56

Yeah, it's actually— always has a solid choice, and she always like has us reading what people are popular, and that's too young, and that's like good for the book club, of course, you know, because then people want to read when it's Sachi's Choice because it's a lower lift. And I think it's a really quality book, so I would recommend it to you as well, Miss Quality Literature.

00:17:10

Literature, would you say?

00:17:11

Top quality literature. And did you hear that? I would recommend it to you, Journey.

00:17:14

I mean, I still have not— since I told you guys about my SAG Harbor books, I haven't read one more page. And it's just like the 20 pages I read are now like forgotten, forgotten. Um, it's just like, no, it's not a reading summer for me, you know?

00:17:27

Understood.

00:17:27

Sometimes it is, sometimes it ain't.

00:17:29

Well, we're recording today, so we'll see you guys on Thursday, the Thursday.

00:17:34

But until then, without further— open to—

00:17:37

I'm open to starting like a guest. I guess. Without further ado, why are you staring at my feet? I just like looked down for a second. Okay, if that's allowed. Permission to look down for a second. Are you feeling insecure because you're wearing your toes out?

00:17:50

No, I wear my toes out almost every day.

00:17:51

You do? Yeah. I don't anymore. I get so much hate for my toes.

00:17:55

What's wrong with them?

00:17:56

They like are crooked.

00:17:58

Are they? Well, I have, um, like one bad toe, my fourth toe on the left foot. Just sort of like hugs the third, and you can't really see like the nail because it goes behind the third. Do you see it?

00:18:11

I think I see.

00:18:12

Um, but I see other people's feet, and I think on the spectrum of feet, I'm very, very above average because I don't think there's anything wrong with my feet.

00:18:21

Like, I'm just like not looking that close, you know?

00:18:23

But I don't know, sometimes you could see like someone's big toe, like the nail is really small, but like the toe is really big.

00:18:28

Oh no, for me it's like people would only ever see like my my toes, like not from the top but like maybe from the— like, I don't know. Or sometimes I used to post pictures like this and like with my bare feet.

00:18:40

Well, you can't post bare feet. I'm wearing sandals. Like, open toe and bare feet are two different things.

00:18:45

I just like used to get a lot of hate for my toes, so I've been—

00:18:48

you've been shamed into submission. Okay, love that for you.

00:18:51

But I'm glad to see that you're feeling confident in your little—

00:18:55

I mean, why are you acting like I shouldn't feel in your doubts? I actually, I have normal feet. Like, I'm not gonna show my arms all the time. I'm certainly not like baring midriff, but my toes, yeah, call me crazy. I'm showing my toes. And that's hot confidence.

00:19:09

Now without further a-do-da-do-da-do, here are the Fast Five Stories that you-da-do need to know.

00:19:14

And the Fast Five Stories that you need to know are brought to you by Nori. If you're heading to Target this week, there's one new launch that you should keep an eye out for. It's a brand new Nori Cloud. So we're in the Hamptons, we're wearing like lots of linen, lots of silk, and we need steamers. It's not just a Hamptons thing, although I feel like my wardrobe this summer is very, very steamer friendly. Well, if you ever owned a handheld steamer, you probably know the struggle. They leak, they spit water all over your clothes. They somehow make getting ready even more stressful. And that's why Nori created the Cloud. Like, handheld steamers— steamers in general are just so problematic. And whether you buy cheap ones or expensive ones, like, they're all garbage. And Nori is a company that just set out to make a good, perfect steamer. And let me tell you, they did it. So you may know Nori from their viral handheld steam iron, which is called the Nori Press. It was such a hit at Target that, um, Target actually invited the brand to expand into entirely new category, and that's what led to the creation of the Nori Cloud.

00:20:04

So instead of just making another handheld steamer, they redesigned the entire experience from the ground up. It heats up in 25 seconds. It delivers 20 minutes of continuous steam. It features anti-spit technology, so it will prevent leaks, sputtering, and water spots that make traditional steaming so frustrating. It's very lightweight, super compact. It's beautifully designed. It's easy to travel with, and it's the kind of Target purchase that makes your entire morning routine better. It's loved by celebrities, Oprah's favorite things, Rachel Zoe,, and they're a small female-founded company full of toasters on a mission to make clothing care faster, easier, and a whole lot more beautiful. So visit your local Target store or visit nori.co, N-O-R-I.co, and use code TOAST at checkout for 20% off your first purchase. That's www.nori.co, code TOAST for 20% off your first order. 00:26:09

Thank you, extremely special Turt. Oh, our first story: Ariana Grande pulls out of West End debut as she's taking a step back from the limelight after weight loss concerns.

00:26:20

Good.

00:26:21

So Ariana Grande is pulling out of her debut on the West End, and she will be stepping away from the limelight. On Sunday, her rep revealed that the singer, who is on her Eternal Sunshine tour, is taking a break from the spotlight amid endless public scrutiny.

00:26:34

Don't blame us.

00:26:35

Quote, Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes her tour. She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless ongoing public scrutiny. Scrutiny.

00:26:49

I think a lot of this is on the heels of a music video she released on Friday.

00:26:53

Yes, her new album came out on Friday, and then the music video for Petal came out as well.

00:26:58

And we've obviously been seeing like all these videos of her on tour, and it's like all really concerning. But to see this like extremely high-definition close-up video of her where she's like wearing kind of revealing outfits, so you see— I think it was even like people, like, it was just shocking. Like the, the the video when she's wearing that black dress and it's like very, um, like low cut. It's so upsetting. And so everyone, like, people are like, well, if you want to help someone with anorexia, like, you should do this. I don't know what the right thing to do is, but like, she looks awful, she looks sick, and like, she needs help. So whether that's, you know, taking time off, I don't know what we're supposed to say to help, but like, it's bad.

00:27:35

So like, fix it, someone.

00:27:37

Yeah. Did you see also like TMZ like shutting down a rumor that Ethan Slater and Lily Jay are getting back together? Like In what fucking world? She would never.

00:27:48

No, I don't know. I'm reading Shampoo Effect, and they have a storyline like that, sort of. It's just about like—

00:27:53

I'm sorry, she could never. And I know you're like supposed to do what you're supposed to do for your kids. Yeah, like, no, no, no, I don't know.

00:28:01

No, no, I don't think she—

00:28:03

I don't know where that—

00:28:04

you know what, she's really gotten through like most of the hard part without him, so it's like if she's made it till now, she's fine.

00:28:09

She's literally fine. She's so much better off.

00:28:11

She's so fine.

00:28:12

Yeah. Um, like, it's really bad with Ari. Like, it is.

00:28:17

And I don't know what, like, the right thing for us to respond is. Like, I obviously don't want to make her feel bad, but I also don't— like, we can't all act like this is normal because it's like— normalizes it, and it's harmful to, like, girls. Girls, like, so— and she does need— I don't— also don't want to, like, perpetuate whatever she's feeling that are making her do this by consuming all of this and like making her feel like that she's on this hamster wheel. Now she has this album, so then there's the next tour, and like I just sort of like want to give space and hold space.

00:28:51

Yeah, I haven't been really engaging with— thank you— I have not been engaging with the tour. I, I obviously didn't go, um, I didn't watch music video, I just saw like the backlash and screenshots, so I agree. Like, I don't want to encourage this type of behavior and culture, so I'm not really like involved here except that like I see something and I'm saying something. Like, you look scary.

00:29:14

Yeah, bad.

00:29:15

Yeah, really bad.

00:29:16

Very, very scary. And I think, you know, she always is very thin. Yeah. And she's been very thin for a while. This seems to be like a new— because I'm even looking at pictures of her from the Wicked premiere when we used to see—

00:29:25

we're all like so skinny—

00:29:26

and she looks like better, healthy compared to—

00:29:29

no, she still looks really bad.

00:29:30

Like to how she looks now. But she also, as much as like she like shows off her collarbones or whatever, she does hide a lot, you know. She doesn't like wear like the skimpiest things. I feel like she doesn't show so much skin. This was the most we've seen in so long, and like, that's why it was so— that's why it's so jarring.

00:29:47

It was really upsetting.

00:29:48

And then the concept for the music video that I didn't watch but I've seen like screenshots is like how she's not good enough and she's doing this audition and they like don't like her, and there's like notes at the bottom that said, 'Could lose a few pounds.' Like, no one— I know the industry is toxic and fatphobic and everybody needs to lose £10, but no one— that's not real.

00:30:07

That— and also, it's just like, you have to think about like how many people— and of course, like a celebrity pop star, like no one can tell Ariana Grande what to do. She's in charge. But like, how many people surround her? Even for this music video, not one person was like, maybe we should put on a different dress, like something.

00:30:20

Yeah. And it's— I do think she has like, yes, people around her, you know, of course, and like people who lick her butt, most like most celebrities do, but like butt munchers. Yeah. Um, but she's also surrounded by family, so I don't like, I'm sure they're—

00:30:31

where is Frankie? Where?

00:30:32

Her mom is always right there. I'm sure she's like—

00:30:35

I think when someone's like so like knee-deep in an eating disorder, like, you literally can't tell them.

00:30:39

Especially when that person is like on top of the world, you know? What can you tell them?

00:30:43

Yeah, if it's like your teenage daughter, you can like put her in a facility. Like, no one can really tell Ari to do anything that she doesn't want to do. Yikes. It's really bad.

00:30:50

So even though like the public scrutiny is the reason for the break from public life, like, sure, great. Whatever, take a break from public life, however you need to justify it. Doing another Broadway show, like, those are so— the dancing and the sleeplessness and the late nights, that's not what she needs.

00:31:06

Agreed.

00:31:07

Sad.

00:31:08

Scary.

00:31:09

Yeah, yeah. It does seem like it's reaching like a bit of a pitch though. I felt like, you know, for the last few months, like, only, only like a brief— people have been saying it.

00:31:18

And there are people in the comments like, you guys, like, she's always been this skinny, like, really, um No, we're like, we don't comment on women's bodies.

00:31:24

Like, which I do, which is like a, a decent rule to abide by most of the time, but there are, there are exceptions.

00:31:31

This is an exception.

00:31:31

Yeah, it's insane. Yeah, so I just hope that like she's okay and that she gets help.

00:31:38

Me too.

00:31:39

Um, our next story, Barbie 2 is like in the works but it's stalled as David Zaslav won't approve bigger salaries for Ryan Gosling and Margot So when a movie makes more than $1.4 billion at the box office and earns 8 Academy Award nominations, the studio is going to want to make a sequel. Such is the case with Barbie, but time is running out for the studio to put Margot Robbie back in pink. In a New York— in a new report, The New York Times reveals that Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav has—

00:32:08

I was thinking, like, why is this the second time this weekend that I've heard the name David Zaslav? Um, he's apparently buying a summer camp. Like, people are kind of— everyone in the New England area is talking about it because it's like one of those camps.

00:32:20

Oh, he's bought— he is buying a summer camp.

00:32:22

Yeah, I was like, why have I heard the name David Zaslav before?

00:32:25

Why is he buying it? I don't know, like for fun. It's giving Schitt's Creek.

00:32:29

No, I think it's like a beloved camp that's like on its last—

00:32:32

on its balls.

00:32:33

Yeah, and so like bring in your local billionaire president of Warner Brothers to save it.

00:32:37

I love it.

00:32:38

He might live in the area or something.

00:32:39

Like, that's like Schitt's Creek. Yeah, and then if, you know, Warner Brothers goes belly up, he's the director, he can go live at the camp. And that's a show I would watch on Warner Brothers Discovery. Full circle.

00:32:49

Okay, so sorry, he's also—

00:32:51

in addition, he will not give them raises. Um, Ryan Gosling is angling to raise his pay to $20 million, and he is pushing back.

00:33:01

I mean, businessmen got a business and actors are gonna act. Like, yeah, I would also try to get a raise dollars and cents-wise.

00:33:08

Like, if it does— even though I don't know how at a $1.4 billion, right, you know, generated budget why you can't afford $20 million for Ryan Gosling, but but we can't afford $20 million for Ryan Gosling.

00:33:19

Like, I really don't feel that we need a Barbie 2. I didn't think we needed a Barbie 1, but not everyone agreed with me on that. We definitively though do not need a Barbie 2. I'm so not— it's not going to be like what Barbie 1 was. They're trying to like recreate— I get it, like, this is a business, so it'll do well.

00:33:34

How did Barbie 1 end? Okay, aside from like the speeches and then the old lady, which was like so cute, the old lady, plot-wise Where is Barbie?

00:33:44

I think she returned to Barbie Land but like brought equality with her or something.

00:33:51

But she's like, but in Barbie Land I don't think equality— lack of equality was the issue. If anything, like Barbie has more power in Barbie Land, more rights. She had more rights. Ken didn't know.

00:34:02

The problem with Barbie Land was that like it wasn't like realistic.

00:34:08

What was the problem with Barbie Land? Because like he's just Ken, right? Right. And he's obsessed with Barbie and like Barbie's a queen and everything's like, it's Barbie's world, we're just living in it.

00:34:17

What was the problem with Barbie Land? Miss chat, it sounds like sort of like in the Barbie movie. What was wrong?

00:34:27

It sounds like a woman's dream in the Barbie movie.

00:34:29

What was wrong with Barbie Land? Question mark.

00:34:32

You know, it was like women presidents and like, yeah, but then she maybe she went to the real world and realized like things aren't—

00:34:37

it seems perfect but it isn't. One of the central ideas of the film is that society can have blind plots, even one that appears idyllic. So the Kens have no real identity or agency.

00:34:45

Okay, okay, so this is like a male's rights movie.

00:34:47

It's a mirror image of an unequal society. Barbieland isn't presented as a perfect feminist utopia as much as an inversion of traditional gender dynamics. Okay, good though.

00:34:55

Like, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's like— so it is unequal in the other way. It's the matriarchy.

00:34:58

But when Ken discovers patriarchy in the real world, he overcorrects it and ports it back to Barbieland, creating a Kendom. Barbie herself is living an artificial scripted existence, so her existential crisis— thinking about death, getting flat feet— reveals that she never had to ask who is beyond a— I just want to say, like, these are made-up problems. Her journey is about becoming an individual rather than living out a predetermined role.

00:35:20

It's giving words.

00:35:21

In the end, Barbie's out of control. They begin giving the Kens more rights and opportunities, recognizing that they too deserve agency and purpose. It's not portrayed as instant equality but as the beginning of a more balanced society. So the film's message isn't that Barbieland was bad, it's that it was incomplete. Barbie needed a real identity beyond perfection, and the Kens needed identities beyond Barbie. I just feel like none of that really made any sense.

00:35:45

Yeah, like, that's very thin.

00:35:47

So I don't know what the plot's gonna be for like Barbie 2 because it sounds like they fix the problem.

00:35:52

Yeah, we need to sort of just like get away from that.

00:35:56

And like, Margot Robbie, like, it was amazing, it was big, and it was like, it was a moment, but I don't really think that she needs to like do it again. No, she hasn't suffered since. She's done like a million movies since, big ones.

00:36:06

They would really need to switch up the plot because like the gender dynamics—

00:36:11

I'm all played out.

00:36:12

I'm all set.

00:36:13

Me too.

00:36:13

I'm all set.

00:36:15

Um, and like the collabs—

00:36:17

we got ice cream this weekend and Ben wanted the other one. What? We all got ice cream this weekend and Zach was holding two and he was like, does anyone want this?

00:36:27

Zach was holding two ice creams and then Ben was eating—

00:36:30

Ben got like this huge milkshake.

00:36:32

Okay, sorry, I didn't know what you were talking about, but now I do. We're all set. So we all, we went to get ice cream and everybody got like normal ice cream. They had hard ice cream. Yeah, I was skinny.

00:36:40

We got small. I got hard ice cream but extra small.

00:36:44

And got this like probably 3,000 calorie— it wasn't even a milkshake, it came in a milkshake cup, but it was layered with like hot fudge, peanut butter, Reese's Pieces ice cream. Like it was insane. First of all, I had 3 bites, it was magical, like of course delicious thing.

00:36:58

And we got an extra soft serve.

00:37:02

We were like playing, we were like messing with him for like being fat and like we were being skinny.

00:37:04

I, I didn't even mess with him at all. We got an extra soft serve pistachio that like Zach was holding. It wasn't like particularly great, and Zach wanted to throw it away. And so he was like, does anybody want this? I'm gonna throw it away.

00:37:14

And Ben, we could see Ben was thinking, Ben was considering it.

00:37:17

And I looked at him and I was like, I think you're all set.

00:37:19

Like, let me tell you, Ben was so offended. He could not get over that Jackie said that. He said, I'm all set.

00:37:23

I meant that like you have the best ice cream ever. Why do you want this melting green thing that nobody wanted? Like, you are all set.

00:37:32

You are the definition of all set. Jackie, in the car ride home, he was like, I'm all set. What does that mean?

00:37:38

He's all set.

00:37:40

He was the—

00:37:40

he thought I was like badgering him, but I really wasn't.

00:37:42

I was all just jealous.

00:37:43

Like, you don't want this melting green thing. You don't. He has not— it's not better than what you have.

00:37:48

And he like ordered something on the menu. Like, nobody does that at an ice cream place. Like, everybody makes their own shit. No, he ordered like a straight up, like a— and no substitutes or anything, just like, I'll have the blank. I forgot what it was called. And and oh my God, it was so good. We need to go back. I need to have one.

00:38:03

Yeah, that— we can go back. That was fun.

00:38:05

We haven't got enough ice cream this summer, don't you find?

00:38:07

We haven't gotten a lot of ice cream this summer, but we got a lot of pie and a lot of cookies.

00:38:11

Yeah, no, we definitely— like, uh, clearly I haven't suffered.

00:38:14

A lot of crumb cakes, banana bread, a lot of pastries. Yeah, baked goods. But no, not a lot of ice cream.

00:38:20

Frozen treats.

00:38:20

Yeah. Um, our next story is some beautiful news. Oh my God, beauty, beauty! Dolores Catania's son Frank Jr. has gotten married in an elegant wine country wedding in Portugal. So the 20—

00:38:33

seriously, like, hearts are breaking all over New Jersey.

00:38:36

Yes, they are so hot. Yes, he's 27 years old. Frank Catania Jr. has gotten married to Nicole Perico wearing a Malzahn suit, wearing Malzone's tuxedos. It's actually unclear if he was wearing Malzone's tuxedos, so he actually wore a custom Michael Andrews Bespoke NYC tuxedo.

00:38:57

Leveled up for the wedding.

00:38:58

He did.

00:38:58

So isn't it interesting though that he's like taken this very traditional route? Like a 27-year-old, really handsome, like Jersey. He's definitely could have been like a player. He's like a little famous. Like I could see him being such an asshole.

00:39:10

No, he's so grounded.

00:39:11

No, he's so grounded. That's Dolores. Like, yeah, did you see Dolores's dress?

00:39:15

I did.

00:39:16

People are like conversing about it because it's literally a wedding dress. Not only is it white, but it's like so bridal. I imagine, you know, that was approved, or—

00:39:27

I don't really think it's an issue.

00:39:28

Like, yeah, I mean, nobody thinks Dolores is the bride, right?

00:39:31

Right. This girl is so like gorgeous, and I'm sure confident, and like, wear whatever you want, whatever— wear whatever makes you feel good. Like, seriously.

00:39:40

No, totally. She looked great.

00:39:42

Yeah, so did Frank Jr.

00:39:45

I didn't see pictures of Senior, but I'm assuming he was there.

00:39:47

I'm sure he was there. I'm surprised he didn't invite his friend Dana.

00:39:50

And then it's like, what?

00:39:51

Yeah.

00:39:52

Dana Holzberg has become best friends with Frank Catania. I don't know if you guys knew that. Dana Wedman— I don't know what people call her.

00:39:58

She's Dana Wedman now.

00:39:59

She's Dana Wedman now.

00:40:00

Yeah, she's very good friends with Frank Catania Senior.

00:40:03

Senior, confusingly. Um, and it also is just a reminder, like, I'm sure this wasn't filmed, and perhaps at one point, like, it would have been like a major storyline on Real Housewives of New Jersey. Like, what is up with the Real Housewives of New Jersey?

00:40:14

I think that they're off pause. It actually could have been filmed.

00:40:18

Well, because we got confirmation that Margaret Josephs isn't returning. She's on Golden Golden Years? Golden Girls? What's that?

00:40:23

Golden Life.

00:40:24

Golden Life. Um, she will be on Golden Life, which I actually think is a great move for her. Um, are they filming? Which women were at the wedding?

00:40:31

Like, we don't know if they're filming, but I think that they might be because like, should be.

00:40:35

This is a great storyline. Yeah, Frank Catania Jr. got— gets married. Like, that's insane. It's a first, and it looks like a beautiful wedding in Portugal. It does. I like seeing the Jersey Housewives in Portugal. That would be funny.

00:40:46

Yeah. I think it's possible.

00:40:48

And there's also so much going on with Teresa. You see, like, Melania's best friend passed away. No, they've all been posting about this girl Victoria, like this young girl who died. And then of course Melania was also arrested, and they're saying that the, uh, the target of her domestic violence was Louis or Louis's son because they have the same initials. Um, so we kind of need cameras up.

00:41:08

I, I think that they might be just— I don't like— I just feel like if Margaret knew, confirmed she's not filming, it's because other people are filming, right?

00:41:13

Right. Like contracts went out.

00:41:14

Yes.

00:41:15

Yeah, yeah.

00:41:16

And they use— they used to film in the summer, Jersey Shore.

00:41:19

Yes, because it's such a good franchise.

00:41:20

It is. And like, the Jersey Shore is central to the show, the shore houses, and like Melissa.

00:41:26

Oh yeah, they do.

00:41:26

So summer, I feel like they would be filming.

00:41:30

Yeah, it's just funny, like, which ones got put on like hiatus. Like when other— you know what I mean? Like Jersey wasn't that bad, right? They were at a standstill with like some of the women not wanting to film with each other, but that actually makes good TV. Like the fact that they refused to put New York on hiatus when it's like seriously so turnt, whereas like New Jersey, like, it wasn't that bad. And they have like so many beloved characters that people would watch them like kind of do anything. Yeah, it's like, why that one?

00:41:53

I don't know. It's funny what— when they decide to like throw in the towel, right?

00:41:57

If there's good stuff here—

00:42:00

00:48:19

Thank you. Slash turt.

00:48:21

You're welcome.

00:48:21

Do you want to talk about, um, August being the Sunday of summer?

00:48:25

Do we? Do we want to talk about that?

00:48:29

No, I don't think so, because I just want to say, like, I—

00:48:32

there's a story there, and I have— I've literally zero beef with the people involved. But like, there was beef at a time.

00:48:37

There was beef at a time. This is like—

00:48:38

this is like maybe 10 years ago.

00:48:40

Like, actually, when did we start the toast? Like, it's an—

00:48:43

it was the first year old. So we had a conversation on the show about how like August like is obviously great because like it's summer, but it does give Sunday.

00:48:52

Yeah, Sunday of the year.

00:48:54

Yeah. And then I think we like took that conversation to Instagram and like made a little graphic about—

00:48:58

we like made a little graphic. Yeah, like a relatable statement.

00:49:01

And we got like some hate comments from people who work at Barstool, notably the CEO at the time.

00:49:07

Like, not Dave, not—

00:49:08

no, no, Erica, the CEO.

00:49:10

Yeah, but when you say the CEO of Barstool, Oh, sorry, no, she, she was a CEO for a while.

00:49:14

And like, backstory is like, we also knew her personally. She was like a friend of Olivia's. Like, I actually had met her like a couple of times before this, and she accused us of copying, like stealing this concept from Chicks in the Office, which was at the time a SiriusXM exclusive show. So like, you couldn't even listen to it if you wanted to. So like, the, like, the fact that she thought we had stolen it, like, when we actually didn't even have access— we didn't have cars— like, when would we have listened to the show? And she was like leaving hate comments being like, this feels original, doesn't it, at Chicks in the Office? And it's so sad. We have zero beef with Chicks casting office. They were lovely, talented women. Like, not Erika starting with us, like, for what? And also, August being the Sunday of the year is not— maybe they probably said it too.

00:49:52

Like, no, it's an original thought.

00:49:54

It was original for us, but like, if you Google it, other people have like come to—

00:49:58

like, it's sort of saying like January is the Monday.

00:50:01

Yeah, like, a couple of people could come to the same conclusion.

00:50:04

Anyone could think of that. Hold on, I'm looking through.

00:50:09

And like, we also had like worked with her. Like, I think the girls came on our show They came on The Brat.

00:50:14

Yeah, yeah, they had.

00:50:15

It was like such a nice relationship. I don't know why she had to like start stuff. Yeah, she was so aggressive for that. Like, and we were literally like 21, like, and she was 40. Like, leave us alone.

00:50:24

And it's just like, we can all have like a parallel thought.

00:50:26

Like, it's not even a good thought. It's like, oh fine, you want to claim it, it's yours. It's not even that funny. I'm like ashamed to have said it.

00:50:31

Like, but you said it again today.

00:50:33

It was in the copy for Quinn's, which only proves my point. Somebody over there thought of it too, or someone over there was like trying to start stuff with us, and they want us to like bring this up. Like, oh, sending love and light to Fran and Ria, like zero, zero problems with them. It was like, Erica, like, why are you starting with us? You're like an adult.

00:50:48

Yeah, yeah. Are you ready for our next story? I am. Which is this year's— next year's Met Gala theme.

00:50:57

Oh, it's very controversial.

00:50:58

John Galliano is the subject of the next Costume Institute show. So next year's Met Gala theme for Met 2027 will be John Galliano Galliano Horizons. So John Galliano is widely considered one of fashion's greatest since his 1984 graduation collection. He, um, worked at Givenchy, Christian Dior, then he had like a massive fall from grace after he was filmed saying like really antisemitic things at a Paris cafe. Like really bad, really bad, like, like about gas chambers. Like, yeah, he's like, he said I love Hitler. He was talking to some people, he said, you would have been fucking gassed, you—

00:51:37

and crazy.

00:51:38

Then he like went to rehab, he apologized. He was very drunk, he said he didn't even remember saying those things. He has like met with Jewish leaders throughout the years who have forgiven him and who have found his apologies to be—

00:51:49

oh, I didn't know that.

00:51:50

Yes. And, um, then he went and worked for Mason Margiela and like rehabbed his like reputation in the fashion world.

00:51:57

It's not like so like when somebody wears like a John Galliano, there's still like a couple of comments about it. Like it's not like people have completely forgotten.

00:52:04

Yeah.

00:52:05

So when I saw the video, like it's, it's a very shocking video.

00:52:08

Yeah. It's not like, oh, he said like something a couple— when you see it again, you're like reminded of how bad it was. But, um, he has like done the work since.

00:52:17

Somebody should dress up as a gas chamber. Like that's to be for— to be like on theme.

00:52:22

That is part of like his legacy.

00:52:24

So yes, it's, um, it's kind of a crazy theme considering like the Met Gala and Vogue is like typically very woke No, I mean, when you think about how like many people boycotted last year because Jeff Bezos paid for this philanthropic event— he paid for it— I'm curious to see how many people are going to boycott this one.

00:52:42

I'm sure zero people will.

00:52:43

If I'm like a frequent Met Gala goer, I understand not everybody can boycott. Sometimes it's like the one year you're gonna be invited, like, I get it, like, I do, I do. Even like your morals have to take a back seat. But if I'm like a frequent goer, like, I don't think I personally— like, I'm obviously, you know, I don't think I would go.

00:52:58

Yeah, apparently Anna met with like a bunch of like Jewish trustees and like Jewish leaders and like sort of like asked for their blessing, right, to do him. And I feel like I'm of two minds because John Galliano specifically— and after read— I didn't really follow the story when it happened, and now reading like from a bunch of like big Jews who like had spoken to him and really like felt— let me pull it up for you, I'll give you names.

00:53:23

Name them.

00:53:24

Name them.

00:53:25

Name the Jews. I know the Jews who did it.

00:53:30

Well, of course there's like Jonathan Greenblatt at the ADL.

00:53:33

Oh, you know, he was a— he's a good one.

00:53:34

You think so? I think he speaks for you.

00:53:37

Um, I do actually.

00:53:39

That's enough for you?

00:53:40

No, it's not enough, but sometimes he's like— he's— he— I always find— sometimes find him like saying unpopular things. Like, so he's not always just saying stuff, you know, he's not just an agreeable like Yeah, yeah, sometimes, sometimes.

00:53:52

Yeah, yeah, that. But is this one of those times? Who knows? Okay, but this is what he also said, which I do sort of agree with. He said ADL accepted John Galliano's apology long ago and believes he has genuinely reckoned with his past antisemitism. Pardon me, but timing matters. Antisemitism is surging, most recently in last week's stabbing, and Jewish New Yorkers are feeling unheard by their city's leaders. As the decision is made, now it's on the Met and partners, not with token gestures around one exhibit, but with real action against antisemitism in the museum and across the fashion world they help shape. And it's actually extremely factual. Yeah, I just want to make a prediction.

00:54:28

I don't know if Polly Market has a market for this, but I haven't— I have a, a sneaky suspicion a certain elected official will be in attendance celebrating hard.

00:54:36

Yeah, he didn't go this past year, right?

00:54:38

Because everyone was like, Bezos, whatever. So it's like, we're taking political— we're boycotting. So I, I agree with him. It's like, yeah, maybe at the time it's just like not the time.

00:54:46

Yes. And then there's also a rabbi. Who is this person? Rabbi Jacobs, I believe, I don't know, who had said, um, I need to hear from my— he felt Galliano's sincerity when he apologized. He was open, he looked right at us and spoke in a clear way, not as if he had memorized talking points. Uh, so like, he has been forgiven for that, but I just like— so it's not about Galliano for me, it's about one, the fact that like, that Vogue and the Met Ball is like so often anti-hate, even though like, I feel like they give less fucks recently.

00:55:18

Like, because if they were so so averse to controversy, they wouldn't have worked with Nicole Lauren Sanchez.

00:55:24

That's true, but money is green. Money is green, and they need money. Yeah, they do need money. Um, and then it also just sort of like condones and like, you know, sweeps away antisemitism as just like not a—

00:55:35

like a feeling.

00:55:36

Yeah, like hate that we are against.

00:55:40

No, the, the best point is the time.

00:55:42

Like, yeah, I'm—

00:55:43

I am a person who can— I mean, Haley Joel Osment, like, I genuinely forgive him. Like, yes, I actually really can like move on past people's transgressions when they've made meaningful apologies, but the timing is poor. Yeah, extremely poor. That's really the best point.

00:55:58

Yeah.

00:55:59

So although, like, I've seen Galliano looks and, like, they slay the house down. They do.

00:56:03

And for, like, talking about fashion and the history of fashion and the legends, it's a meaningful— very real.

00:56:08

Yeah, no, it's true. Um, I'm at a standstill.

00:56:10

It's just, like, unfortunate, and the time just feels like it's just condoning antisemitism and just sort of, like, moving on, glazing over it. Yeah, there's— feels like a glaze.

00:56:19

Yeah, I would love a donut.

00:56:20

Yeah, uh, no, I need savory first.

00:56:23

You're so weird.

00:56:23

I need to start my day with something savory.

00:56:25

I did, I had a bagel.

00:56:26

And I haven't started my day yet because I didn't get my breakfast, and because you didn't get to the story. Oh, of course not. No, our fifth story is actually some major news, um, and something that we were discussing last week that I'm so excited to like sort of follow up with you about. Um, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

00:56:41

I thought you were seriously gonna start again about about Juliana Rancic, and I was like, I can't do the story.

00:56:46

Why would you think that?

00:56:46

I don't know, because you— the way you pre—

00:56:48

literally, I, I could have been talking about like, we do hundreds of stories.

00:56:51

No, I thought you were doing like another Jerry O'Connell.

00:56:53

No, I was just saying because, you know, we did another podcast. Yeah, we were talking a lot about Spider-Man on the other podcast we did last week, so I thought it would be like fun to say we did another podcast on What Are the Odds, the Polymarket podcast. Spider-Man, mind-blowing debut at $355 million, the second biggest opening weekend in box office herstory. What's the That's a great question.

00:57:12

Probably the other Spider-Man. It's crazy that it was like the biggest movie ever.

00:57:18

I don't know, Avengers: Endgame, we knew that somewhere in our minds. We knew that. Oh, that was $357 million.

00:57:23

You just reminded me, um, I had bought us tickets to see The Odyssey tomorrow, but I can't go anymore, so, um, I'll have to get a refund and reschedule. When, when you guys buy movie tickets, we're all going to Fandango.com, right? Or is that just me?

00:57:35

The Fandango app.

00:57:36

No, no, no, I'm not crazy, but like, where do people buy movie tickets? I always go to Fandango.

00:57:42

You know what, as a husband who loves the theater—

00:57:44

where does he buy his tickets?

00:57:45

I never buy them. Yeah, because I'm never the one. He definitely has the Fandango app.

00:57:50

Yeah, but like, there's also AMC Stubs. He's definitely one of those members of like AMC Elite or whatever.

00:57:54

Yeah, but I feel like if you go to like— you just need Fandango app. That's like what I used to do in my heyday.

00:57:59

Yeah, Fandango's like the place, right? Yeah, I'm not just like randomly going to Fandango. Fandango.

00:58:02

I think it's still the place, but yeah, great question. When you get home, I'll have to get a refund now.

00:58:08

I don't even know how to do that on Fandango.

00:58:10

Yeah, but we'll have to go another day. Sorry, that's fine. Odyssey recap coming later. Yeah, um, like major for Spider-Man. Like, sorry, I'm just like missing all this. Like, I know, this is me.

00:58:20

It's crazy that it's like the biggest movie of the year and like not one person I know in a personal way went to go see it. Yeah, I didn't see anyone on my Instagram posting it.

00:58:26

Like, it's just such a different universe, like the comic book thing, you know what? But I guess like in a few years, like, this will be my world, you know? As kids get older, they like Spidey.

00:58:37

And at least I think that they're good movies. Like, I saw the Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst one.

00:58:41

Of course, that was a quality flick.

00:58:43

It was a quality flick. I still get chills from that guy who played the Green Goblin. Like, that scene is very spooky when they're like on top of the bridge.

00:58:50

That's also like Joker, you know? That's Chris—

00:58:53

yeah, he's Ledger.

00:58:54

I think when we do get there, like, the worst places to be. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:58:57

I I think all the movies are given like proper— they're really good, like people like that.

00:59:02

So I do think like Spider-Man is in my future.

00:59:05

Yeah, Zendaya and Tom, like they just really like— it's actually crazy, they're currently first of all in the highest grossing movie and they're like the stars, both of them. They're also at the same time in The Odyssey. It's just crazy how famous they are. And they're married, I think.

00:59:21

No, they're engaged. But I feel like one day they will be like the absolute biggest stars in the world, like Brad and Angelina. Be like, when did that happen? It's like right now. Yeah, right, right now. They're laying— it's crazy.

00:59:31

Yeah, yeah. Brad and Angelina, but like, without all the drama, in love, and like not crazy, and like no drama, like with the plane and like bigger successes.

00:59:38

Because Brad doesn't have like an Oscar. He's not an Oscar guy.

00:59:41

He doesn't?

00:59:41

I don't think so.

00:59:42

I think he has one for producing.

00:59:44

He doesn't really get nominated. She like doesn't really act.

00:59:47

No, she doesn't act anymore. But even when she—

00:59:49

I guess she was in like a couple like cult classics.

00:59:52

6. Yeah, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Yes, he has 2 Oscars.

00:59:55

So I just don't think it's fair to compare like Zendaya's career to Angelina Jolie's.

00:59:58

So you're thinking that because he only recently won his first one for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and before that he had won one but as a producer because he did 12 Years a Slave. I remember seeing him on stage with Lupita Nyong'o.

01:00:08

So he just won— like, he's not an Oscar guy. I guess Tom Holland probably hasn't won an Oscar either, but he's 3 years old, like, he'll get there. He's not far off.

01:00:15

Yeah, and like, when you're doing The Odyssey and the biggest movies of the year like Spider-Man, like, an Oscar's in your Future. Yeah, I don't know if Zendaya— she's definitely been nominated. Challengers, yes, last year. I did not like that movie. Just hot take. I don't know if anybody cares.

01:00:28

I didn't see it.

01:00:29

You would hate it.

01:00:31

Yeah, I— what am I gonna watch next? Once I finish my book for The Redheads, I can get back to my watching. And after Off Campus, like, you're just kind of having a hangover. Where do I go from there? And I have to work within whatever apps we're already, of course, logged into the, on the rental TV.

01:00:47

I did get into Hulu, so Hulu is now open for you if you wanted. I found the password, but it will log in automatically to my TV. No, no, I can log you in.

01:00:55

But like, what if I want to log in and you're asleep? I could see that happening. I could just text you the login, but you might need to like give a code.

01:01:01

I might need to— well, it would actually be Olivia's husband, not me, because I'm not logging in.

01:01:05

I'm just saying, I'm not—

01:01:06

I got in, I got in code-free.

01:01:08

Okay, just saying.

01:01:11

No, no. What are the kids watching now? What's viral? Girl.

01:01:14

Oh, we, we asked people this question the other day, so it is like a little bit of a slow season. Yeah, it's summer.

01:01:20

Things pick up in a couple weeks.

01:01:21
