I was just thinking that as I was doing the stories today because the stories have petered out by Friday, which they often do, but mostly because, especially in Hollywood, everyone is concerned with the fires. It's just like, wow, this week started with such a bang, and what a turn it took.

No, I know. I was thinking the same thing. I was taking a look at this week at a glance because I was trying to choose my queenie and weanie of the week. I was like, oh, my God, that was Monday.

No, what's so crazy is the Golden Globes were on Sunday. Everyone in that room is now probably evacuated or have lost their home. It's just really the difference a week makes.

I have now ended up on the side of TikTok of people returning to the sites of their houses that are completely burned down, and it's literally so crazy. But they're sharing things that survived, things that are really well made. So Spencer Pratt shared that his all class had Dutch oven completely intact. It's the only thing he was able to pull out of his house. This girl, she's going viral. Remember when that girl's car exploded and her Stanley? The Laine Wilson ex-Stanley collab is the only thing from her house that was completely untouched and totally fine. That is so crazy. The video went viral. Now everybody's like, remember Stanley gave that girl a car? They're going to give this girl a house. For sure. Yeah. For sure.

Well, hopefully things start to get better. They haven't yet, but hopefully the weekend brings some good news, some change in winds, and a miracle. What they need is a miracle. They need from up high rain or wind change because it's so big.

I meant to tell you this. My husband Ben, love of my life, has recently... He's been known over the years for his glasses, right? He wears glasses, and he was, for a while, very against getting contacts, mostly because he couldn't hack it. He couldn't figure out how to put them in. His eyes would get irritated. But a year ago, he He made a commitment. He was like, I don't want to wear glasses all the time. He made a commitment to learn and just to suffer. He now wears contacts most days. It's this big transition he's been through, actually. I do worry about him sometimes because wearing contacts requires a lot of maintenance and a lot of organization. Even the way when we were going to your house, he was throwing loose contacts in. I'm like, I don't know. I don't have a good feeling about this. It requires a level of maturity and control and organization that I know he doesn't possess.

I was Instead of waiting for the first thing to happen, and it's happened. Yesterday, Ben was really dizzy. He was seeing blurry. He was wearing two pairs of contacts. He had literally forgotten to take out a whole pair and then woke up and put in a second pair. It's like, by the way. That's really crazy. It reminds me of the time I accidentally put in a second tampon.

That's where my mind went. But I will say this is like, that's really bad and scary, but this is the second contact infraction because let's not forget when he I have to contact on the stair in my house.

Jackie, you think that makes you special? I find three contacts a day. By the way, and it's actually crazy, I could tell you if Ben has more multiple contacts in his eyes based on the amount of contacts that I find. The night stand, the toilet, the shower, I found them. There isn't a place I haven't found them. I found them on a can of soda in my fridge. Is he going to keep going down this path?

What about LASIK?

Well, I had then sat him down, and I was like, I hate to be such like his mom. That's not a slight towards Ava. To be someone's mother, So I have to teach them a lesson. But he thought the whole double contact thing was funny. And I was like, It's actually not. You could have hurt yourself, first of all. And I just feel like he wasn't taking it seriously enough. I was actually being such a lecturer. But who knows? You could go blind. You can't just be throwing things in your eyes like that. Now, LASIK, I think Ben also really does like wearing his glasses, especially from a style POV. He wears glasses to our wedding. So I think he likes having the option. He has discussed LASIK. I have fallen down a rabbit hole of LASIK I surgery, conspiracy theories. For that reason, I have something against LASIK, even though I don't have enough facts. I'm not going to share what I... I don't know much.

I've never even heard that there's an anti-LASIK movement. What are they say?

The big argument is that the world's leading optometrists all wear glasses. Good enough for thee, but not for me.

I'm not going to go with that one. That one's just like, That's not real. Two, contacts are safer than LASIK. Okay, but why is LASIK unsafe? Lasik significantly increases the risk of glares and halos.

I tried to instill a lesson in him being like, he doesn't even have an area where he keeps the contacts. They're just loose. He's just really crazy about it. I don't even know. Teenagers wear contacts. So you have to just stay on top of it. And he's just so relaxed.

I I just feel like contacts are such a habitual thing. It's actually not something that you can add to your life later in life. You either are like, Margot starting contacts when you're eight, and she does it in her... She knows. It's so innate. But for Ben to pick this up at 30, it's not in his muscle memory.

When you are drunk on your period, changing tampons in the middle of the night, that is where things get really tricky. If you've ever taken a compact mirror, literally up your vagina, you know. I was at a camp friend's house the first and only time I had two tampons in, and I was shocked. First, the size of my own vagina, I was literally, how is that possible? I just thought-Just wait till you have a baby. I just thought the inside of my vagina was big enough for one tampon and one tampon only. It wouldn't physically fit. I guess I'd forgotten to take one out and then put a second one in. Actually, I was at the perfect place because I remember the girl whose house I was at, she was like, Oh, it's not a big deal. My mom wears two tampons because she had a bigger vagina from having babies.

I'm sorry. No, her mom doesn't.

That's what she had said. I was like, Okay, so it's not like I've damaged myself.

That's the crazy part about this story.

It hasn't even crossed my mind. What I'm going through is so much harder and worse than a period. My period could never.

I just had the craziest thought. Something that I would never say on the show, but now that I've said it, I just feel like it's so funny. What? Now that I've thought it. Today, I'm dressed like an unused tampon, head to toe, gray, and you're dressed like a used one.

I'm pretty sure I... I was just talking about this with Ben yesterday. When I lost all that weight, I was like, I will never be fat again. Everything that was bigger than a size medium legitimately went in the trash to Goodwill or to somebody I know. The The way I would kill someone for a piece of that clothing right now, I have just given up. I'm wearing things that don't flatter me, things that don't fit. I'm not buying new clothes. I got so ahead of myself on Ozempic and getting pregnant through a total wrench in there. I knew I was, God willing, one day going to get pregnant. I was in such control of my body back then. You're sleeper. No, I was like, Listen, I have control of my health. I work out every day. I will be one of those pregnant women who eats well and works out, and I will just have a bump, and I will just get a big crew neck. My toast merch will cover me for a few months. That's actually what I thought. Meanwhile, I'm like, Actually, I'm really fat. I'm not even having my bump is whatever.

My body is huge. I'm so the opposite of the type of pregnant woman I thought it was going to be.

I just hate bringing things into my home.

Probably the Palisades because that was the first area that was really hit.

I was watching the press conference last night of the fire chief and the mayors of these smaller counties. The fire chief was like, I can't speak on fatalities. The police Department has to because we haven't ruled out arson. If these are fatalities caused by arson, it's literally murder. It was really crazy.

Yeah. Also, then the looting, I'm sure you've seen that, too. Yes. Dozens of people going into evacuated zones.

That's what I was saying about Hurricane Katrina.

Stealing from homes. Now this is crime, theft.

It's the Which it is so big. Humanity at its worst.

At its absolute worst. I hope that they meet the justice that they so richly deserve. I hope the police are out in full force and getting it done.

The animals, it's so sad. There's so many different levels to this devastation. But there's a TikTok sound going around because this guy was like, The animals in LA don't know what to do. They don't know where they are. There was this bunny who looked lost, and he was talking to the bunny. He's like, You're on Ego, whatever. People are using that sound to just show random animals in people's front yards, like a wolf. Not a wolf. I don't know what the native California animals are.

They have a lot of animals, a lot of wildlife.

They do. A lot of forestation. There's a lot of animals that live there, and they're all coming down, fleeing. Coming out of the forest. Walking in the street. It's so crazy.

I don't know how he is today because we're just watching it unfold on the show. But they also had plans to try and have a child this year that had been completely be put on hold. She's just really going through it. She's such a queen. She's literally one of the greatest people on reality TV. I feel like she gets a lot of praise, but not enough.

It's actually really crazy the way Southern Charm has been able to maintain its relevance in the Bravo universe, but also its quality of content. Because when you think about the shows that it started with, like Vanerpump Rules, literally not even on the air anymore. They had years and years of like, drab seasons that we all had to sit through. Southern Charm really hasn't experienced that.

Yeah, they've definitely had highs and lows, and they brought on people who didn't work out. But right now, they've brought on a few new girls who I think are going to be strong, just reality TV members. They're very much ingrained into the fabric of their lives. Literally, Sally has dated or hooked up with every single person that Taylor has dated or hooked up with.

That's really hard to watch with one of your faves when you know the show is holding them back.

Holding them back from a happy life, not from success and fame and fortune.

No, I feel like that's how Naomi was. The show didn't serve her.

But it's hard to walk away from something like that. You make really good money. You have a lot of opportunities. Olivia is no longer on the show. I think she found love and moved on with her life.

Well, those were the past five stories, and you definitely needed to know every single one of them. But what you really do need to know is Queeny and Weeny of the Week.

You do. I just want to say another Her loss for the community was the burgeoning friendship between Paige and Madison. Agreed. Because I think that was one of Paige's favorite parts about Charleston was, should we get together with Madison? They would always come to the house or double date.

And That's someone on her level. Glamorous-wise, brain-like personality, funny. It's hard to find someone on your level.

I'm sure they'll stay friendly, but of course, it's going to peter out. She's not in her city every other week. That's a loss for the community.

1,000 Now, speaking of the community, a way Jack and I like to give back to the community is our weekly segment, Queenie and Weanie of the Week. Every Friday, we like to wrap up the week, take a look at the week at a glance, and give out an award to somebody who acted like a queenie this week and somebody who acted like a weanie this week. Now, it is a temporary title. It's not meant to be so serious. Obviously, the people who are starting fires in LA, they're not weanies of the week. They're the criminals of the week. This is not reserved for them. It's all in good fun. You could be queenie one week, weanie the next, weanie one week, queenie the next. It's ever happened, but those things are possible. Now, Jack Jackie, tell me who you chose for Queenie of the Week.

My Queenie of the Week, lest we not forget, was Nikki Glazer crushing it at the Golden Globes. She had a great week, and she deserves all the accolades. She did a job that is apparently really hard because nobody can fucking do it.

I also chose Nikki Glazer as my Weanie of the Week. I forgot that that was this week. Excuse me, Queenie. Oh, my God, 40 and slip. I forgot that that was this week. But the way she made me feel, that is valuable. I was actually laughing. I just cannot remember a time where I watched something that I thought was genuinely funny. It's Sometimes you're like, Ha ha ha. But it was so funny. She made me proud as a woman, as a podcaster. She looked gorgeous while doing it. She's continuing to make waves and went on Howard Stern. It's been brilliantly done. She is a friend of The Toast. You should listen to her on The Toast. She was great. I love her.

Love her. Very much queeny behavior. Now, my weenie, like Claudia said, typically when someone has committed a crime or done something illegal or hurt somebody, they're not a weenie. They're just a terrible person, and this is meant to be more light-hearted. And I do think a weanee who has emerged from this California wildfire situation is David Mahrer. We didn't even talk about him.

Oh my God. That is so funny. I didn't know what you were going to say. Yeah, you know what?

Of course, the mayor in the government, they have done really been negligent in their duties. But that's not where we're. That's not weaning behavior. Weaning behavior is David Mahrer wearing a firefighter's jacket to do his broadcast on the California Wildfires, and he has it clipped in the back to be like, cinched waist, cinched pecs, to be looking like, I don't know, a handsome firefighter. He's like, cosplaying.

Okay. What had happened was that David Muir during the election cycle, I think there was a lot of people's introduction to him. So I obviously know him He's on Well News Tonight. He's like a face. Well News Tonight. He's always on before Jeopardy, but he's not. I wouldn't say he was so famous as a person, and people didn't have crushes on him. But he was making... He moderated one of the presidential elections. He had a good year. I think it brought him into popular culture. He existed very much as a big fish in his pond. But I think a lot of people were like, Oh, who's this daddy? There was a lot of complementary content about his looks.

Because he's a good-looking guy.

Extremely. He's like, Guaft. He definitely wears makeup. He has his hair slicked back. I think he liked that attention for sure. Who literally who wouldn't when your job is so boring and you're probably always getting yelled at by everybody on your side, everybody on the other side. I could see how he fell down the slippery slope and ended up with a cinch waist. I could see it's so human of David Muir.

I feel like he would probably say, this is what they wanted for me. They wanted the firefighting newscaster daddy. He's doing it for the community. Yeah, but he wore a fireman's jacket to broadcast in front of the fires, which Where did he get that jacket? Amazon?

No, it was monogrammed ABC. Abc made it for the newscasters.

Okay. Well, I guess they're in a dangerous situation. So maybe you need fireproof. It's protective. You need fireproof. But he used clips in the back, and he turns at one point, and you can see that he cinched jacket to make it look like tighter and buffer.

And by the way, I read a lot of commentary about it because this is something fairly common that you do in wardrobe for TV because people share clothes. You can't have things tailored. They're borrowed. You will take... You know those on Binder clips that you used to use in high school? You will take it and make something fit.

Or clothes pin clip.

That's what he was using. People are like, Well, this isn't a big deal. It's really normal. While, actually, I agree, it is a very typical TV wardrobe thing to do, the level of cinching was definitely extreme.

No, but also in the midst of firefighting, who's worried about how the jacket hugs you?

Yeah, no.

It was a weaning move You hate to see it.

You know what? If he didn't turn around and show us the pin, I wouldn't have thought much about the level of tightness of his jacket. But now that it's been cinched and I'm looking, I'm like, Why is your jacket so tight? It's like a protective vest.

It doesn't need to be. It's like something that you throw protect yourself while you're out here, covering news, fighting fires, helping people, saving lives. It's like, Oh, you cinched the waist? Yeah. If we never saw it, we would have never known. We'd be like, Damn, he really fills out that jacket.

Yeah. Daddy over here. Fire, Daddy.

That's what he was going for, and he just turned a few too many degrees.

So embarrassing.

That's a really good one. He looked like a weenie.

My weenie is mean. Oh, okay. But it's Allison Hulker, boss. Or Allison Holker dropped the boss three days later.

Nay, boss.

I hate to be this person, but I would be lying if I didn't say the last couple of years of her content and interviews didn't rub me in a weird way. You don't want to say anything mean because everybody does the grief their own way. But I've always been like, I'm just thirsty, but you would never say that.

You would never have made her your weaning of the week. No.

But now, to have the mother of your deceased husband I have to release a statement about you, it's so weaning. It's so bad faith. It confirms, I think, what a lot of people's instinct got reactions to some of her choices over the last couple of years. Because I've thought, but I would never say. But now knowing her mother-in-law, brother-in-law, your husband's ex-friends, they all think weird. I agree. We all were sensing this.

So now we've said it.

And so now we've said it. The releasing of someone's journal entries It's such a crazy thing to do. The more you really, truly think about it, especially if this person... It's up for debate if he was dealing with this thing. So many people in his life are saying, actually, he wasn't. But even if he was, it's It's just... It's such a actually low thing to do.
