Good morning, millennials.

00:00:03

Welcome back to The Toast, and happy Thursday. Congrats to all the grads for graduating the week. We have made it to the latter half of the week. The week is almost over.

00:00:11

Congratulations...

00:00:12

Oh, what? I'm sorry. Congratulations...

00:00:14

What was that? Congratulations for graduating Wednesday. I can't say you've graduated the week yet. That's like being in the end of your sophomore year and saying, I've graduated.

00:00:25

Okay, no, no. This is what it is. You haven't graduated per se, but you're on your It's your way to the ceremony.

00:00:31

No, it's your beginning of your junior year I graduated.

00:00:36

No, it's not the beginning of your junior year because it's four years and it's five days. I would say you're at the end of your junior year. How about that? Okay. Because Friday is definitely the senior year.

00:00:46

A hundred %.

00:00:47

I guess that would make Thursday the end of junior year because it's five to four ratio.

00:00:52

Which is also a good feeling. I feel like junior year in- It depends.

00:00:56

High school and in college. It depends. Have you gotten into college? Have you gotten into college yet?

00:00:59

No, junior year in high school, and you don't get to college in junior year. You do senior year. But you're taking... Junior year is a hard year. So the end of junior year, honestly, you've graduated from junior year. It's true.

00:01:09

The toughest is behind you. And that's very Thursday energy. 100%. Okay, glad we figured that out. Happy Thursday, everyone. Welcome back.

00:01:17

It feels like the end of junior year.

00:01:18

It does.

00:01:19

What's everyone doing this summer?

00:01:21

What were you like your junior year? Let's talk high school.

00:01:24

We're talking high school. Dark times, my friend. Yeah, that was a rough time in my life because we had just moved. Our father passed my junior year.

00:01:33

Oh, really? Yikes. I don't think that's true.

00:01:37

Our sophomore year?

00:01:38

Actually, no, because I was a freshman, so what we were two grades apart.

00:01:42

We were two grades apart. But sophomore and junior year are really a blur for me because it was both hard years. I'm just struggling to stay afloat junior year. However, senior year, things definitely got brighter. I lost a little weight.

00:01:57

Always helps.

00:01:58

Always helps. A bad situation.

00:02:00

No, actually, I'm noticing from the time before we took winter break to the time after winter break, I really have significantly, in my opinion, changed. Being on camera every day, I can't even watch our clips. I know it's all happening. It's all good. But I'm definitely fat now. I've had fat again, too, which is even more complex.

00:02:22

Well, a number of things to say. One, at least you have an excuse. I look different from winter break, and it's just inflammation as they say. I've started taking I'm tumoric every day. That's how desperate I am.

00:02:32

You feel different, but you don't look different.

00:02:34

Well, I would have said, Oh, thanks, turdy. That's really sweet. Except I weighed myself this morning. The numbers don't lie. That's a tough part of the numbers. The girls are climbing. However, I'm doing everything right. I'm doing my Socara, I'm drinking my water, I'm having my protein shakes, I'm staying active. It's not going to change in three days. You just have to be consistent about it. I shouldn't have even weighed myself because it brought morale down when I was feeling a little less inflamed.

00:02:56

There is something exciting, even if you're not actively seeing any results. Getting on the train.

00:03:03

I'm on the path. I'm on the right path. I'm doing everything I should be doing. I'm really sticking to my resolutions, no matter how many times I have to pee during the day. This is my first cup of coffee of the day. Usually, I'm almost done with my second. We're practicing better habits. Now we wait. We got to put in the work. It doesn't happen overnight. I feel like everyone just thinks, Oh, I had a good day.

00:03:23

Yeah. If only it were that.

00:03:26

I got to live this way for a while. At least I'm on I'm in the train, as you said.

00:03:31

I went out to dinner last night to one of my favorite Italian spots with Ben and his parents. When I recommend a restaurant, I'm not a restaurant recommender. Do you know what I mean?

00:03:40

No, I do. Neither am I.

00:03:42

All week, everybody was like, Where should we go? Where should we go? Everybody differs to me because I made everybody eat at 6:00, and I'm very particular. They were like, Where does Churri want to go? Where does Churri want to go? I decided on this place, and it's a place that I like, and it's actually a place that I love. I just felt like Ben was committed to disliking it. Do you know what I mean? Because tell me who He orders this. Of course, he didn't like it. He ordered the artichoke and pistachio ravioli. What?

00:04:09

That is something that you order for the table to try. That's no one's main dish. That's like, Oh, that sounds interesting. Let's all have a bite and try that. That's not a meal.

00:04:19

No, Ben and his dad split two different raviolis. Okay, what was the other one? They're both ravioli.

00:04:24

Okay, but was the other one like sauce and cheese?

00:04:26

No, it was white. It looked like an Alfredo It's just crazy to have two raviolis, which ravioli is like, it's a risk.

00:04:33

I just feel like Ben shouldn't be eating Alfredo. I know he's not allergic, but he should treat it as if he is.

00:04:39

Do you not know Ben's chicken Alfredo story?

00:04:41

I do, and that's why he should never eat Alfredo again. He's not allergic. He just had a really bad reaction. He should treat Alfredo as if he's allergic.

00:04:49

It's actually a really good point. I treat Alfredo as if I'm allergic, one, because I think it's disgusting, and two, the sheer image of it, even the word, reminds me of that Ben's story, and I immediately lose my appetite. It's an appetite suppressing.

00:05:01

I don't do creamy white.

00:05:04

I don't do creamy white. Jackie, I said that at dinner last night. Ben was like, Try this ravioli, you might like it. I said, White sauce in me. Creamy. Yeah, I said, Cream-based sauce. We are not Pottico with one another.

00:05:16

I don't do a white clam chowder. I don't add that disgusting mushroom can into my cream of mushroom. I don't do white creamy. I do red creamy.

00:05:26

I love red creamy.

00:05:28

I don't do white creamy.

00:05:29

No, both of Ben's raviolis that showed up were white, creamy base. When the meal was done, actually, everybody liked the restaurant, which made me feel good. But Ben was like,. I'm like, Well, if I went to a restaurant and ordered the worst thing on the menu, I also would think it's okay. Why can you just be normal? Everybody got normal things. I got a salmon, pizza. It's like a Serrafina type of cuisine. Modern Italian, why don't you get a pasta, a fish, a normal fucking person?

00:05:55

Yeah, you can't judge the restaurant based on their special.

00:05:58

It wasn't even a special. It was just It's a crazy ass dish.

00:06:02

Even though I think some people say that you should judge a restaurant based on their special. But that would not make sense to me. Not this place. And also not me. I'm a consistent regular three things on the menu girl. I'm judging by the Caesar salad and the salmon and the French fries.

00:06:16

Fun fact about me, I have never, and I want to say that confidently, probably will never in my life order off of the specials menu.

00:06:24

No way.

00:06:25

Same. It does not apply to me. Actually, in my award-winning Comedy Special, I had a whole bit about this because it's so awkward when they come over and tell you. They come over, and I want to be rude. I'm just going to be like, Seriously, don't waste your breath.

00:06:34

There should be a section or a placard you could put up, like reserved, or it's not interested in specials, knows what she's ordering, always gets the same thing.

00:06:42

Even Ben, who's really experimental, so many of the times, 75% of the specials we can't eat because it's pork or shellfish. I never want to be rude, but I just want to put my hand up and be like, Seriously, don't bother.

00:06:53

Save your breath.

00:06:54

It's a lot of work for them to memorize all that shit. Seriously, scram.

00:06:58

I don't know where to look Every now and then, they say, Do you want to hear the specials?

00:07:04

I think that we should embrace that more in restaurant culture because no, I don't. I know you don't want to tell me either.

00:07:11

What if that night, the special is chicken nuggets and French fries.

00:07:16

The thing is, what if? But it's not.

00:07:19

I know. You know? I know. I always am like, yummy.

00:07:22

Oh, my God. You always want to engage.

00:07:24

The surf and surf, yummy.

00:07:26

It's so rude. When people are scrolling on their phones or not listening, it's so rude. Even though there is seriously not... You couldn't pay me to order one singular thing, I'm listening so intently. I'm like, Oh, is that grilled or baked? Who gives a fuck? I am so...

00:07:41

Because it's- How's that prepared?

00:07:42

It's so rude not to. And I'm always like, Oh, Ben, you would like that. It's like a skit for me. It's SNL. Totally.

00:07:49

I always say my husband, Oh, my God, you love scalops.

00:07:51

I was like, Oh, write that down. Ben, clock that.

00:07:55

If nothing else looks good.

00:07:57

And Ben doesn't take it as seriously as I do, the commitment to engaging in the bit.

00:08:05

It's just rude. I think that's just being a woman and being a people pleaser. It's so gendered.

00:08:08

It's me being an empath.

00:08:10

1,000%.

00:08:12

Yeah, I feel things so deeply.

00:08:14

One I don't know how we got here, but I had a great dinner.

00:08:19

You went to a restaurant? Yeah. I don't really love eating out these days, but I try to eat out once a week because Dr. Fox told me to have salmon once a week, and I can't have salmon at home. It goes against everything I I believe in.

00:08:30

It's really pretty good. At home? Yeah. If you've got a good fish monger, I'll send you the reasoning. I put a little spray with olive oil, the reasoning that I like. So good. No, for a multitude of reasons, I can't. You can cook it to a crisp the way we like. No, I can't. I know the smell in your house is probably the reason why.

00:08:48

The smell is huge. Also, these days, I'm actually trying to be a really good neighbor because I have big plans for the rest of the year in terms of not being a good neighbor because I refuse to bring a stroller into my house. The hallway will I'm in my own personal stroller garage. And so I've really been nice. You got to get your karma up. Yes. My next door neighbors have two Wiener dog puppies that are seriously... I could hear them barking in my sleep. I haven't said a word. I am going to be such a delight because also the room that I think will be the baby's room pushes right up against, I think, their master bedroom.

00:09:18

They'll be hearing. There'll be a lot of noise.

00:09:19

If I start cooking salmon, that's a demerit in my column when I'm trying to get Gold Stars with the neighbors. Speaking of Gold Stars, is the School of Rock story a story today? It is. Okay, good.

00:09:29

It is a story.

00:09:30

Oh, not a story, but need to talk about, oh, my God, me and Ben, when we both woke up, we were glued to our phones. Overnight, so much bad news and so much crazy footage coming out of LA and the California wildfire. I don't know. It seems like there's no end in sight. I think that they were making a lot Progress yesterday, and then overnight, new fires in Hollywood Hills, which is where a lot of people live. It's a lot of high-rise buildings, a lot of houses, was engulfed in flames. It seriously never ends. It's a shit show It's so sad. It's the only thing on my phone.

00:10:03

No, I think the last thing I saw, I don't know how recent was, but it's 0% contained because the winds are so strong, they can't fight it from the sky, which they need to do for a fire like this. Is that the Santa Ana winds? The Santa Ana wins. But it's so sad and heartbreaking. And agreed, I'm glued to my phone, and it's everything that I'm seeing. But it's also so frustrating because you're seeing how many things have gone wrong and how unprepared the city was when this is the big thing that they have to worry about. I just feel so bad for the people that live there and how frustrated and heartbroken they are when a lot of this was preventable. Not the entire thing as we see this happens often, but the scale that it's reached, the level of unpreparedness, the budget cuts for the fire Department, no water in the hydrants. Your biggest threat to your city is fires, and there's no water in the reservoir for the hydrants.

00:10:52

It's actually disgraceful.

00:10:53

It's negligible.

00:10:54

It's criminally negligent. Seriously, when all this is said and done, investigation I feel really, obviously, I think a lot of people are having a hard time empathizing because you look at LA, Hollywood, and you're like, Oh, it's just rich people. It's actually really not, especially if you look at just the suburbs of the Palestine that have been completely wiped out. It's just regular people. It's regular There are poor areas, there are rich areas, there are people who have lost fire insurance. It's really devastating. It's not just like, celebrities who can build their houses back. Even people who can build their houses back. That's years of memories and your family. It's just devastating. They're There's so many different things to think about. Then you think about all the forestation and all the animals, like fleeing with nowhere to go. It's too sad to even think about. It's biblical, the sky. I don't even know what the right word is.

00:11:50

I think at this point, there's really no one in that area who's not affected by it because it just keeps growing and going into places where they don't experience fires. Right. A lot of celebrities have already lost their houses.

00:12:04

There's a running list of notable people who have lost houses. But it's beyond that. It's thousands of just also regular people.

00:12:11

But as we talk about celebrities, that's really what's going on with celebrities. They're also evacuating their homes.

00:12:16

They're evacuating, raising money. There's not a lot of... Actually, the stories aren't terrible today.

00:12:20

It's crazy to me that people are raising money for LA Public Services because they need money when LA, they pay the highest taxes in the country. No, I know. Where is the money? No, where is the money?

00:12:30

No, I know. It makes you so... In situations like this, people really... Bad faith actors take advantage of people who are just wanting to... People who live here who want to donate and spend money for meals. It's so corrupt.

00:12:42

They're already looting and stealing from people who have evacuated their homes. I've seen videos of people setting fires. Me too.

00:12:50

No, and that's, by the way, someone was just actually telling me about this documentary about the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and how it literally, half the devastation came in days after. There was no power. It was lawlessness. It was the most... What's the movie? The Purge. But it was really crime beyond the most violent crime you could think of. It's the darkest days in history. People don't even talk about that when they talk about Katrina because they just talk about the Katrina. It's something that happens during chaotic times, and it's fucking disgraceful. It's the absolute worst of humanity, and it's embarrassing to even be the same species as these people.

00:13:29

It's so true. For people who are still in their homes, who haven't evacuated, who have lost power, it's so scary. It's just so many different angles and levels. It's just a horrible situation. It's so frustrating, and it didn't need to be this bad.

00:13:42

It didn't need to be this bad. It's so true. I'm seeing so many celebrities speaking out who are mad. If I lived in LA, I'd be fucking mad, too. I get it. Look at me in my congestion tax. Nothing's even happening to me. I'm fine. It's frustrating.

00:13:57

It's so direct because these budget It's just they happen. Someone made that happen. It's the accountability. We don't have to go searching. Who could it be? It's the mayor and the governor. And the people that they put in place, incompetence. It's disgraceful. Incompetent at best, nefarious at worst.

00:14:15

Criminally negligent. That's my phrase of the day.

00:14:19

It's a good one.

00:14:20

It is. I don't know where I pulled it out of. I don't think I've ever used it before. I must have seen somebody else raging about it on Instagram and copied it.

00:14:28

That's so mean. You're getting the word out.

00:14:30

The stories today are- Good.

00:14:33

They're pretty good. I think we'll have fun with them.

00:14:36

Yeah. It's so important to have fun.

00:14:39

It is important to have fun. So I feel good about that. If you want to get into them, I guess we Good? Yeah, time flies. I can't believe. I feel like we just sat down, but yeah, no, it's time.

00:14:49

That's so us.

00:14:51

Except I will say the new episode of the Redheads came out. That's the other big news of the day. Huge. Really great episode. The book is a really good book, and I think a lot of people really enjoyed it, and we will ruin it for you and poke so many holes in the book. But that's what we do.

00:15:06

That is also, speaking of big episodes that came out, Jackie and I released a new episode on our Patreon last night, a video and audio episode. 00:18:58

I feel like every My sponsor was my blog.

00:19:01

Yes, it was giving... Shaki, not to make everything about us, but it is.

00:19:05

Yeah, I guess. Our first story, not to make everything about us, but it is because yesterday Claudia predicted that celebrity breakups comes in threes, and the third one dropped right after we recorded.

00:19:15

She's a big one, too.

00:19:16

Yeah, probably the biggest of the three, objectively, but not- Traditional celebrity. For the world, this is the biggest one, but not for you and I. What would you say is the biggest one for you and I, Paige and Craig?

00:19:28

Yeah, of course. But actually, this is on par with Kaya and Austin, just level of celebrity-wise. But this was a Hollywood marriage that I think people really... They were the exception to the cliché of Hollywood marriages. That's why it's particularly shocking.

00:19:43

Yeah. Jessica Alba, and we should actually say who it is. Yeah, they know. As we continue to allude to it, Jessica Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, are separating after 16 years of marriage. Now, I just want to say, 16-year marriage is a success. Agreed. In my books, they have three daughters together, three kids, two daughter's one son, in case anyone was curious. But TMZ has reported that the two are nearing a divorce after 16 years of marriage. This is the report that they have split. I don't think this would come out of nowhere. I believe this to be true.

00:20:12

As do I, especially when TMZ reports something legal, they're always in the courthouse. They've got the paperwork. Now, this is interesting for a multitude of reasons. One, because it was one of these Hollywood success stories that you just didn't even think about so much anymore. But also because Jessica Alba, while she is a very successful actress, I would argue she's a more successful businesswoman. Her baby company, Honest, I believe, reached a billion dollar valuation a little while ago. This is a big divorce in terms of money, too. We were just talking about how J Lo and Ben really amicably settled their divorce, because if you think about it, they really are probably worth equal amounts. I wouldn't say the same for Jessica Alba and her man, and that's where it gets tricky.

00:20:51

Because who is he in this world?

00:20:55

Cash, Warren, Job.

00:20:57

They met while she was in a movie, Fantastic Four, he was the director's assistant.

00:21:02

Yeah, he's a producer now. Like I said, different tax brackets.

00:21:06

Yeah, very much so. I'm sure he's been holding it down at home.

00:21:11

I mean, that's value. I'm sorry, it is.

00:21:14

But yeah, this will be a big divorce in terms of money.

00:21:19

Yeah. I feel like it's going to be one of those, she pays a big settlement, but then also like, alimony and child support. I think he's in for a big payday. Yeah. And nothing makes me more sick than a man taking money from a woman in a divorce. When it's a woman, it's like, get every... Like, literally scrape any every penny you possibly can. If it's a man, when the woman makes more money and he comes after her for alimony, child support, there's a thing like quality of life. Where your quality of life shouldn't go down significantly. So it's really crazy. I don't know.

00:21:55

Get a job.

00:21:55

Yeah, correct. Settlements. That makes me physically ill.

00:22:00

I would never say that to a woman. When a housewife has to go from her mansion to an apartment, give her more.

00:22:08

It's absolutely devastating. It's soul crushing. You hate to see it. That's because I know if a woman is in a relationship and she's not providing financially, I know she's providing other things that are of equal value, whether it's children, whether it's homemaking, whether it's sex, whatever it is, I just know she's making up for it.

00:22:24

I just want to say, and children is- It's huge. Huge all the way up here. Of course, there's other things that she can do as well, but to give someone children, that is a full-time job.

00:22:35

I know she empowers the man to make that money.

00:22:38

He wouldn't be able- Behind every great man is a strong woman.

00:22:41

I know when it's the opposite and a man doesn't provide financially, not only does he do none of those things? He actually drains the woman and her ability to make even more money. I feel sick. Maybe he'll do the decent thing and say, I'm all good, but who would? He wouldn't. This is devastating. It's Adele. It's Adele. Remember when she gave him $70 million?

00:23:02

However, that was a couple of years, one small child. This is 16 years, three daughters who are going to have to go back and forth.

00:23:10

That's even worse that it was only a couple of years and he got $70 million.

00:23:13

No, that's worse. That's what I'm saying. This isn't as bad to me.

00:23:17

It's true because it's a real family.

00:23:19

Yeah. He gave her a lot of love over the years. But I'm actually just surprised that they fell out of love. I saw rumors or that they had trouble keeping the spark. I'm sorry, at 16 years, it's 16 years. It's What about the fucking spark.

00:23:31

Not only that, but if you're getting divorced, yeah, obviously, you have no spark. I hate when people say obvious things.

00:23:36

No, but it's like, you're not getting divorced because spark.

00:23:40

No, everything didn't work out, but they still have so much spark. What?

00:23:46

Anyways, I'm sure they'll start to share more, but also with the fires going on. Yes.

00:23:53

I don't think they'll- I wonder if the timing of the announcement is intentional just to keep it- Minimize it.

00:24:00

Not the main story. Yeah, I guess.

00:24:04

Well, this is sad. You hate to see a successful Hollywood marriage end- In a family. Because they are so infrequent. But I'll have to see how I feel once I read the divorce settlement. Am I still sad?

00:24:17

Yeah. Our next story, some big podcast news that I feel like we haven't covered in full, but Chloe Kardashian has launched a podcast in partnership with X, and not to make it about us, Dear Media.

00:24:28

A thousand %.

00:24:29

So her show is called Chloe in Wonderland, and episodes will premiere on X, and then the next day, they're available anywhere you got your podcast distributed by our Swirlies at Dear Media. And the first episode dropped, and it is with Scott. But she's going, I feel like over the years, she's done, of course, Chloe After Dark. Cock entails with Chloe. Cock entails with Chloe. Always has a little show here and there, but she's going all in on podcasting now, sitting down with people in her life. Scott, I think is a good first guest, but also- I think so, too, actually. I think it will be when I listen, it will probably be good conversation.

00:25:02

Yeah, I think it's going to be one of those shows that you tune in based on the guest because it's not really about Chloe. It's an interview show. The guests that have been lined up for this season and already announced her, Jay Shetty, Tony Robbins. Now, it doesn't think about it because Mel Robbins is doing everybody Today's podcast. I don't even know who that is. Is that Tony's wife? That's what I was just about to ask you because they both do mantras and shit.

00:25:20

There's no way.

00:25:21

Tony Mel or daughter?

00:25:24

I just feel like Tony Robbins.

00:25:26

No, Mel Robbins has actually criticized Tony Robbins's quotes.

00:25:30

That doesn't mean she's not his wife.

00:25:34

Yeah, it's so true. Let's say.

00:25:36

No, they're obviously not married. I just feel like when I imagine Tony Robin's wife, she's not a girl boss CEO.

00:25:42

They're not related. No, definitely not. Tony Robbins would never let a girl boss CEO into his bed. Are you crazy?

00:25:48

Right. There's two people with the last name Robbins.

00:25:53

No, but they also do the same thing. It's weird.

00:25:55

Yeah, that is weird. It's probably frustrating. Imagine how they feel.

00:25:57

Yeah, for their SEO results.

00:26:00

Yeah.

00:26:00

Wellness Robbins.

00:26:03

Wellness Robbins.

00:26:07

Okay, back to Chloe's podcast.

00:26:08

One of them is a trademark.

00:26:10

Literally. Robin's Wellness.

00:26:12

Back to Chloe's podcast. I'm really excited for her Because she is a great personality, and when you strip it down, that's why she's so beloved and why she was always beloved back in the days because of who she is on the inside. So podcasting is a great medium for her. I love that she's doing it with X, doing video, of course, because we We want to see the girls. Of course.

00:26:31

I like that her first guest was Scott because I think they have such an interesting relationship and dynamics. So it'll be for entertainment purposes, it'll be interesting to watch. But also, he's from her Kardashian universe, but he is a little bit removed from it. I think it's actually a great first guest. I think that this will be the type of show that I care about based on the guest, which is a lot of interview shows. Sometimes you care and sometimes you don't. I do want her to use it a little bit more for and about herself.

00:27:00

Well, I guess each guest will ultimately bring something out of her. I feel like I saw a clip where she's talking about how that therapist told the story about her. She must be talking maybe with someone about therapy. So I feel like it's not just question, answer, question, or she's not a reporter journalist. These are conversations. So whoever she's talking to will bring out something about Chloe. So Scott, they're talking about a couple of things, but he is talking about how he doesn't really talk to anyone or do any press if it's not within the family, if it's not the show or if he's not doing something with the girls because he just doesn't want things being misconstrued. Then the family is like, Scott, what'd you do?

00:27:37

I feel like they collectively as a family also got to a level where they didn't have to do press anymore to sustain their Fame and their fortune. I think for a lot of them, that was an enormous relief. I think Kim likes doing press. I think some of the girls like doing it, but I think for the most part, Chloe definitely doesn't. I could see Scott not liking it, not wanting to get in trouble or having things taken out of context. Once you don't have to do press anymore to sustain your livelihood and your celebrity, I'm sure it's It's a joy to not do it.

00:28:01

Yeah. Chloe, I think, likes doing it the least. I actually think doing a podcast, it turns that on its head a bit because now she's in the driver's seat. She asks the questions. She only talks about things that she wants to talk about, but we still get to hear from her.

00:28:12

I feel like when Facebook lost whatever their network was, Facebook Watch or whatever, and Red Table Talk went off the air. I don't know how popular the show was, but I know certain episodes were big cultural moments. I do feel like it left a little bit of a gap in the market for a talk run by a celebrity that other celebrities can use as a safe place to address stuff. I actually could see Chloe filling that gap a little bit because I think a lot of celebrities like her and trust her. If you had a big scandal and you had a bunch of options, how Olivia Jade went on Or Jordan Woods went on Red Table Talk. I could see Chloe becoming that. I think that's a good comparison and a good thing for her to strive towards. Yeah, because that show was actually really good. It just sucks that it was on Facebook and nobody cares. But every now and then when they had these huge guests based on these huge moments, Olivia Jade, Jordan Woods, it was fabulous. They also used it for their own drama, which didn't appeal to me, but they had a lot of family drama at the time with the entanglement, that rapper August.

00:29:15

They would use it as a platform to clarify and talk. The Kardashians have always needed that. Remember when Kim went on that podcast and they choose weird places to go when they need to explain stuff, things that they know are safe. Remember when she finally talked about Balenciaga Diago, really briefly on that random podcast? They have actually needed their own media outlet for a while. It's been obvious that it should be a podcast, and it should have happened a long time ago because I think they needed it more over the last couple of years, whether it was hosted by Chris or Chloe.

00:29:45

But they have the show. I guess the thing about the podcast is more immediate.

00:29:49

But the show has not been real in a really long time. It has not been...

00:29:54

I guess also by the time they address things on the show, it's like we're over it. They haven't been able to solve for the It was the immediate. I think this is good for that.

00:30:02

We had said that the show should have had much faster turnaround and been a little bit more substantial. We've been saying that for years, and it never would. At this point, it became fiction, almost. Fun to watch pretty girls do pretty things.

00:30:16

Commercial selling Sunset.

00:30:17

Exactly. It wasn't real. I love this. I hope it's successful, and I hope she likes doing it because podcasting is a lot of work, and I think a lot of people end up not liking it. That's why there are so many failed podcasts. Not only is it more work than you anticipated, but it's not as rewarding as you would think. It's actually hard to keep an audience. If it's not even doing that well, I understand why a lot of people start them and don't pick them back up. I hope she likes it.

00:30:39

Yeah, agreed. They're also talking about how both of them are not really dating until their kids are Until each other. Until each other. Well, they talked about the rumors and how they're unfounding.

00:30:49

They would never be honest with us.

00:30:51

They just could never do it, which is such a shame.

00:30:54

Why could they never do it, in your opinion? Because I think Courtney would actually, at this point, be not only okay I think she might encourage it.

00:31:02

His kids are her nieces and nephews.

00:31:07

So?

00:31:08

I don't know.

00:31:09

No, I hear you.

00:31:11

It would be very nontraditional. I actually think they could if they really fell in love, but it's like a brother and sister.

00:31:18

Yeah, I guess.

00:31:20

It's like a brother and sister.

00:31:21

Some of us are just still...

00:31:23

We're still there. At the restaurant. Yeah. That drops today. Enjoy.

00:31:29

That's the first episode? First episode?

00:31:30

First episode with Scott, that the podcast has premiered. She's off to the races. Go, Chloe.

00:31:35

Not crazy about the title.

00:31:37

I think it's cute, and she beat Keeping Up With Sports to the punch of launching a podcast.

00:31:42

No, I forgot to tell you. I sent you a clip, Keeping Up With Sports.

00:31:44

You sent me a clip, but there wasn't an episode, Claudia. They have an Instagram page. You sent me the clip. I went to their page. It was the only clip.

00:31:52

Okay, but they had to have filmed something.

00:31:55

I just don't know why it's so hard for them.

00:31:59

Keeping Up with Sports. I'm just searching the podcast app.

00:32:06

Yeah. I think I searched the... I was ready. I was sat. And you don't think that...

00:32:13

Keating Jenner. Oh, yeah. No, the Sizzle Real It came out March 2024. It's been a year. The reviews are so funny.

00:32:21

What are they doing?

00:32:23

Since the intro, I have heard nothing further. When are episodes coming?

00:32:29

That's so funny. I should follow it so that when the episode drops, I'll be the first to know.

00:32:34

I don't know if it's a when the episode drops. I think it's more of if the episode drops.

00:32:38

You don't think for the last year, they've been working on the perfect first episode? No.

00:32:43

No, I don't.

00:32:46

I think she needs to have Lamar on.

00:32:48

She's already beating Lamar. That's good.

00:32:52

Are you ready for our next story? A bit of an update from yesterday's story about Twitch. It's a third story, right? This is our third story, Twitch's ex-wife, Allison Holker, is addressing all of the criticism that she's received and saying that she believes Twitch would choose to share his story to help others. She has shared a statement on her Instagram after facing criticism from her late husband's loved ones and from social media ahead of the book's release on February fourth. She said, To fans of Steven and our family and friends, I want to be clear that my only intention in writing the book is to share my own story as well as part of my life with Steven to help other people. Just like you, I never really knew what happened, and even as I'm to put the pieces together, I will never really know. If you decide to read the book, hopefully you'll see my intention is to celebrate the love and life I shared with Steven and our three beautiful children, and also the more complex aspects of both of our lives. I hope that by sharing our full story, maybe I can help someone else who might see themselves or a loved one and Steven in sharing, I hope maybe they catch some of the red flags that I missed before it's too late.

00:33:53

Again, I'm coming into this saga with really no frequency of notions of any of them. My inclination is if everybody's saying you're something, you're something. Do you know what I mean? All of former friends, family members, coworkers, the amount of people who keep... It's almost like someone was waiting for someone to say something, and then the first person said something, and everybody felt like it was a green light to speak their minds. The amount of people, the sheer volume of it, I find powerful. I do.

00:34:23

Yeah, I agree. She's very much focusing on this is her story, this is It's your truth.

00:34:30

While that might be the case, if you sit down and do an interview and the takeaway from the headlines is all about your husband's addiction, I don't know how that's telling your story.

00:34:40

Yeah. Then also when she comes at it with, I'm helping the next person, It's hard to say.

00:34:46

It is. The thing that I struggle with is we really don't know whether this person would want his addiction out there or not. Actually, there are members of his family and friends who say there wasn't even an addiction, but let's say that there is, right? Yeah. There's no way to know whether he would want it out there or not. For her to just make this decision to publicize it without speaking to other people involved, like his mother and his brother, that gives me bad faith energy.

00:35:15

Yeah, it's true.

00:35:16

It's something that impacts everyone. To not even have the conversation to get the approval of his family, it feels what that woman, Courtney, is saying is tacky and tasteless. It does.

00:35:29

Yeah. So much time has passed. People weren't really wondering. It's not like there's been myriad documentaries, what happened. You could have just let him rest in peace.

00:35:39

It's true.

00:35:40

Instead, now his name is literally being dragged through the news in the messiest possible way. It could not be messier. It's really true. Not only as an addict, but family drama. He has kids. It was clean, and now it's messy. Was there a need for that? But also, maybe she's got bills to pay.

00:35:57

Well, that's the other thing. I think that we can point to other examples of people who have actually gotten a lot of Fame after loss. It's this weird line to walk, because a lot of people followed your story. Amanda Klutz, when her husband died of COVID, that was the saddest saga everybody was following. It, broadly, made her a star. She went on to host the talk, and she's a swirly now. Whereas before, she was a fitness influencer. It's definitely an odd trajectory to success. I don't think anybody wants it, but it sometimes happens when your story is as powerful as it is. I think that Allison saw herself as a bit of an Amanda Klutz, and I think that she got carried away. Because the thing I actually really like about Amanda Klutz is she's always remained really... She hasn't leaned in heavily to this weird version of Fame that she has and run away with it. I think she It's an awkward, weird place to be in and how you handle it. How you handle it will speak volumes of how people receive you. I just think these are two examples of people who handled it really differently.

00:37:12

However, I haven't been keeping up with Allison Holker for the last three years since she passed away, so I don't know what she's been doing.

00:37:17

Me neither. But I hear about her periodically, just when she talks about. It's tough when you get rewarded financially, Fame-wise, for bringing up your tragedy. Then it's easy to get carried away and become tasteless.

00:37:32

I guess for the last few years, his family and friends have been watching it, not saying anything, just being like, Okay, maybe that's not what I would do. That's a little weird. Okay. Then the book, and then his journal entry said she's sharing, it's gone too far. Understood. The book is coming, though.

00:37:50

That's the thing about books. When you announced it- They've been printed. By the time you announced it, that was the Tommy Fury book, poor timing. He had to add an addendum to the memoir he had written being like, Yeah, everything I wrote here is no longer true. I made a mistake. By the time you announced it, whether there's backlash or anything, it's almost too late. I feel like that happened really to Jamie Lynn Spears, too. By the time she announced it, and also there was so much going on at the exact same time as Brittany, it was like, We can't stop this train.

00:38:20

Yes, but actually, they changed the title of the book.

00:38:23

Whose?

00:38:23

Jamie Lynn Spears. Remember she announced her memoir, and it was a Brittany lyrik, and they're like, Are you fucking kidding? And she changed it. Oh, you're right.

00:38:29

She I guess you could change a lyric because it's the cover.

00:38:32

And then also all of the drama- I mean, a lyric, you can change a title. A lot of the drama from the book happened from the contents of the book. So the book was published, and then there's drama.

00:38:38

And the press, the press that she was doing, too.

00:38:41

Yeah, but not before where it's like, Wait, can we not have the book come out anymore?

00:38:44

Yeah. It's a risk. It's a gamble.

00:38:48

Are you ready for our next story number 4?

00:41:20

Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.

00:41:23

I feel like both of ours were particularly beautiful today.

00:41:28

I thought you were going to say bad. I was like, Okay, watch yourself.

00:41:30

No, I thought I heard something beautiful in mine and then yours as well.

00:41:34

I always hear something beautiful every time you open your mouth.

00:41:38

Our next story, some lovely news. In the midst of all these breakups, the School of Rock Child stars who met on the set of the movie are getting married. They got married, sorry, 22 years after meeting on the set of the movie.

00:41:53

No, this is actually too much to bear. Too much joy.

00:41:57

Angelo Masagli and Kaitlyn We're just 10 years old when they met on the set of the movie.

00:42:03

Caitlin is the blonde, sneaky brown noser with a hidden agenda. She sings, memory all alone in the room.

00:42:09

She's one of Summer's Girls.

00:42:10

That's Miranda's Cosgrove. She sings that.

00:42:13

No, but she's one of her... Her name is Martha in the movie. She's a backup But she's a backup singer. She's a backup singer.

00:42:17

Then Angelo is classic. You guys know him. He was security, head of security. He was that really tall, broad kid. Franky. He looks exactly the same. So does she. Yeah. Actually, they all do. I was able to recognize pretty much every single one of them that was there. Obviously, notably missing was Miranda Cosgrove.

00:42:33

Jack Black, but he was on the set of a movie, they said, and he totally reached out and commemorated it privately and would have been there if he could have. Oh, wait.

00:42:40

I love that. I thought for sure he wasn't even invited because of all of them. He's literally a mega star. How did they even get his address?

00:42:46

I don't know, but nine cast members went to their wedding.

00:42:50

I saw everyone. I saw Zack. I saw I'm not cool enough. I saw the girl on the bass, Chillow. You've got a base. I love this story. It's Seriously, so much.

00:43:01

No, same. It's really cute. They actually reconnected later in life. They didn't start dating on the set of the movie. That's good. They both went to college in Florida and connected, went to lunch, and then there was something there, was the start of something new.

00:43:15

That's seriously so crazy and so cute. The thing I can't get over is when you look at pictures of kids from high school, I mean, kids from what were they? They were in the fifth grade. What are they supposed to be? Last, third grade?

00:43:27

No. Probably No, not middle school. Not middle school. Hold on. I'm sorry.

00:43:33

They were probably in the third grade.

00:43:34

They were 10 years old.

00:43:36

How old are you when you're in?

00:43:38

What grade are you in? Seriously, there's no way to know.

00:43:40

Hey, Siri, what grade are you in when you're 10 years old? Sorry, I don't understand. Me neither. You're in fifth grade.

00:43:48

No one does. Fifth.

00:43:50

Where was it going with this point? You know someone you knew in fifth grade? What they look like now is completely different. They're actually irrecognizable. The crazy thing was, I haven't seen a I've never seen a picture of any of these people in years. They look exactly how they should look. They have the same face, but they're just grown up. It was freaky.

00:44:07

It is. It's so crazy. They look like they just grew.

00:44:13

This movie, I feel like sometimes I was just having this conversation with a friend. Movies that you loved as a kid, they really don't hold up.

00:44:20

Which friend?

00:44:21

I have a lot of friends. They really don't stand the test of time.

00:44:25

She's talking to a friend. They don't.

00:44:27

They don't. I actually remember, I've seen School of Rock a bunch of times since I had first fallen in love with it. But actually, during COVID, one of Ben's friends was trying to celebrate his birthday, and there was nothing you could really do. But you remember how you used to be able to rent a movie theater because they couldn't sell tickets to a movie. Instead, they would... I think it was $99 to rent a movie theater. He rented a movie theater and invited 20 people. We all sat in this huge theater, and you could bring your own food and drinks, and you could choose your own movie. He chose School of Rock. Let me tell you, that movie, if I was seeing it for the first time, I would have thought it It was brilliant. It is a classic, timeless piece of comedy.

00:45:05

No, it is. It holds up. The older you are, the more you understand. It's so good.

00:45:14

Then the ground it laid for so many celebrities. Obviously, that was a big moment for Miranda Cosgrove. Ned Steebley is the creator of White Lotus. Sarah Silverman is his miserable girlfriend.

00:45:24

There are a lot of people- Joan Cusack.

00:45:25

Joan Cusack, yes.

00:45:28

But then also, then in seeing this picture, The child stars went nowhere. But they also look happy and thriving. They look well-adjusted.

00:45:36

I actually think they all went on to lead completely normal lives with just this fun fact about themselves.

00:45:43

I wonder where they're Maybe just they petered out. She is an OB/GYN sonographer, and he works as a music product council for TikTok. I don't know what that means. Music product council.

00:45:58

Okay, so it sounds like they both went on to do things like their characters were going to do.

00:46:04

Life imitating art.

00:46:05

He was really into the music industry, like from afar. What does she do? She's an OBJ fan. She was always a woman who supported other women.

00:46:13

A 1,000%.

00:46:14

I could see it. She's very pretty. She looked beautiful on her wedding day.

00:46:18

She's a scenographer. You should go see her. I think that they live in New Jersey. They got married in New Jersey.

00:46:23

Oh, my God. Well, the girl who played the bass, she had the most Instagram stories. She was filming the entire thing. The wedding looked so fun. They were all at the same table. It was seriously too much. It's a good premise for a movie.

00:46:33

Claudia was just thinking that, that movie table 19.

00:46:36

Yeah. But they all get back together from this movie that they shot as kids. I like it.

00:46:43

I like it, too. Maybe that's the School of Rock sequel. Two of the classmates are getting married.

00:46:50

Two things. They need to never make a School of Rock sequel. Sequels ruin things. They made it into a Broadway show, and that's fine. Just leave it alone. Two, when I was on my way to Florida, actually, I was seriously going to faint in the back of this car. I pulled over in some random town in New Jersey on my way to the airport, and I got pizza. While I was driving through town, it was this actually very cute, quaint town. There was a music school, an after program in town called the School of Rock, and it had the same exact logo, and they do guitar lessons and drum lessons for people in town. It was so cute.

00:47:22

Oh, cute. I thought you were going to say that you passed by the Park Chateau estate in Gardens in East Brunswick because that's where they got married.

00:47:28

I didn't. I might have, but I don't know.

00:47:32

Mazel tov to the happy couple.

00:47:35

And thank you for sharing this joy with us.

00:47:37

Yeah.

00:47:39

If you want to be the teacher to me, well, baby, you just better forget it. The original music from that movie was amazing, too. Rock got no reason. Rock got no rhyme. You better get me to school on time. So good?

00:47:59

Yeah. So good. Our fifth and final story. It's our last story, Celebrates the Best of the Industry. The Industry at its Best, The School of Rock and Love. Our fifth story, Celebrates the Worst, because a new docuseries on the Fall of Ditty is coming to Investigation Discovery on January 27th and 28th. It is called the Fall of Ditty, and it will cover the sexual misconduct allegations against Ditty and is set to feature interviews from some of his former colleagues and employees, as well as some of his accusers. The press release states, Through these interviews and combined with a vast collection of our archival footage, the Fall of Ditty paints a holistic picture of a mogul who was alleged to have wielded his extensive power and influence to obscure for decades a pattern of abuse and violence that left an unprecedented amount of pain and suffering in his wake. Among those interviewed for the docuseries were Dee Woods, who was a member of Danity Cain, as well as several former employees who worked for the mogul, including his former driver, who alleges that Holmes once tried to bribe him. Also interviewed are two of his accusers, Rodney Lill Rod Jones, who we've talked about his suit against Diddy, and Talia Graves, both of whom have sued Diddy, accusing him of sexual misconduct?

00:49:18

Obviously, the Diddy story is huge. Everyone's talking about it. It's the biggest story of last year and probably this year. But something about a documentary that really spells it out for people because we're all reading the headlines, and not a lot of us are reading the entire lawsuit or the entire article. I think that if this documentary, sometimes documentaries come out and they don't make waves, but sometimes if they start movements.

00:49:41

Like Nickelodian.

00:49:42

Right. If it has that effect, I think it'll be really powerful. I also think it'll be really damaging for his case because you have to think about people who watch that, they become jury members. Because I just watched Jury number 2. I'm thinking a lot about juries.

00:49:57

I'm going to watch it, so don't spoil anything about it. Do you know what it's about? No, and I don't want to know.

00:50:02

Good. I didn't know either. When I figured it out, I was like, Are you kidding? It's really crazy.

00:50:06

But I do think jury members who have seen something like this wouldn't be eligible for a jury because they would be coming in with biases.

00:50:13

But it influences... Even I don't know if you haven't seen it, everybody's talking about it. It's every headline. It influences public opinion in a way or say in some way.

00:50:20

Yeah. I do think Diddy will hopefully receive the justice that he deserves. But what is a little frustrating about this case is it's so much Diddy. There are so many people at every party. He's trafficking people to whom? To his powerful friends who are people whose names we might know, who we might be fans of. We might be buying their products, and they're horrible criminal people. I know. We need to know more of like- Below it wide open. Who worked with him. This is not something that one person does on his own.

00:50:52

No, it's true. We know Diddy is bad now, and he's going to get the justice he deserves. No one's going to go into a room alone with him.

00:50:57

No one's advocating for Diddy. Right.

00:51:01

But now, that's exactly what happened with Jeffrey Epstein, and we never got resolution, and it's so frustrating. I imagine the two circles are connected because it's the same group of people, powerful, influential people with money, not just in Hollywood, but in politics and in business and world leaders, like every Prince Andrew, like every possible sect that you can think of. It is really frustrating. That's not to discount the allegations against him and the justice that we seek to seek. But it's so much bigger than that. You're so right. We shouldn't lose sight of the list.

00:51:35

I hope that this documentary names names.

00:51:40

Yeah. But the thing is a network, ID or Netflix, no You put yourself... Oh, my God. Sometimes words just don't come to me. You make yourself a target legally to make claims.

00:51:55

They did it with the Nickelodian one. They were naming names. They were naming names. Names, Dan Schneider, even though there wasn't a serious allegation against him. This was this pattern of behavior. It told a story. Then also, when Drake Bell shared what happened to him, he's naming names.

00:52:12

Yeah, but that guy's already in jail, Brian Peck.

00:52:17

He is.

00:52:18

He was in jail, and then remember, he got rehired by Disney after going to jail for child stuff.

00:52:22

Right, but where is he now?

00:52:24

Is he dead? Did he die?

00:52:26

It's feeling dead.

00:52:27

Hopefully. I don't know. It's a tough spot, I think, for someone to take on.

00:52:35

Yeah, but I think that will make the difference of how much impact this documentary has. Is it new information or are you just packaging it together for someone who's not reading everything and doesn't I don't know what's happened?

00:52:46

Because there have been whispers about certain celebrities, and I think the only other actual accusation that was made was Jay-Z, which, by the way, I was watching Beyoncé's halftime performance, which I just really, really, really enjoyed. I have beautiful things to say. As I was watching, I was like, Oh, my God, I totally forgot. Because I don't really think of her and Jay-Z so much anymore. I feel like they live several lives, but that's literally her husband. He was literally accused of a 13-year-old, and it's just like, it's really crazy. We'll see if this blows the case wide open.

00:53:18

I just feel like we've barely scratched the surface, and I'm not so excited about just a surface scratch. There's a lot of bad, nefarious behavior in this town. Do you want to do something about it or do not?

00:53:31

Yeah. I feel like there's actually so many similarities to Jeffrey Epstein, because now any picture Diddy has with a celebrity, it's like, look, look.

00:53:37

That happened a lot with Ghislaine Maxwell. I don't care about a picture that anyone took.

00:53:41

I think a lot of people went to Diddy parties and they were upstairs being normal, doing cocaine and drinking champagne, not downstairs trafficking kids. So anytime there's a picture, it's like, look, he's bad. Same with Ghislaine Maxwell. They were like, look, Carol Ronswell, new Ghislaine. They just have a picture with these people. I I think it's getting lost. You're right. I totally even forgot about the network behind him.

00:54:06

You need people to traffic, too. It's not just him and himself.

00:54:09

Behind every powerful trafficker, there's a network of individuals making it happen.

00:54:13

No, and a network of individuals who are his clients. That was the craziest thing about Jeffrey, I've seen in Galene, they're arrested for human trafficking, and there's no one. Who did they... Then it's like, okay- The customers. Keep going one step further.

00:54:26

Follow the lead.

00:54:27

Right. But these people are still in their own way protected. It's just frustrating.

00:54:32

Yes, it really is. It's a good point. It's also so crazy to think about the fact that P. Diddy, we keep talking about him. He's literally in jail. Love that. But it's just, he's literally in jail.

00:54:42

Yeah. So crazy. Where he should be.

00:54:45

Lock him up.

00:54:47

Throw away the key.

00:54:50

That's our show.

00:54:51

00:54:58

I'm going to make my Queeny Little Mix. I actually have not thought at all about who I'm going to make my Queenie and Weenie.

00:55:05

Have you? I've been thinking about it, yeah. And I come up with nothing.

00:55:08

Interesting. I got to get my notebook out. I should start nominating people throughout the week. Oh, that was Weenie behavior.
