Transcript of The Presidential Podcast Wars: Thursday, October 24th, 2024
The ToastGood morning, millennials. And welcome back to The Toast. Happy Thursday. That has very Friday energy to it, not in the good celebratory weekend way, in the very conclusive way.
Yeah, in the way that tomorrow, when we wake up, we're going to realize that it's still a weekday, and that's going to be hard. And what's going to make it harder is knowing that my turdy's not down the haul and up the stairs for me. Even though we're miles and miles and miles apart.
You're probably wondering, Wow, turdy, you look so ugly today. That's because I'm getting on an airplane. I wasn't giving full glam for the toast. I'm sorry.
I wasn't thinking that.
I'm talking to the viewers.
They weren't thinking it either. You're too hard on yourself. What they're probably thinking is, Oh, what's that sweatshirt turdy wearing? Is that merch that I missed? No, it's merch that was never released because we weren't sure if people would want a peach set.
This creamsicle color.
I love a creamsicle, but I also know I have plenty in my DNA, and not everybody does.
No, let me tell you, I am wearing it today, and I've worn it a few times because all I wear is merch when I'm down at your house. Let me say I think we made the right call. I'm not loving it.
I think we made the right call. I think some people would have bought it, but it wouldn't have been Gang Busters. But I'm glad that we made a sample so that I have it and I can wear it when I'm feeling creamy.
I have so much to say today. I have lots of thoughts on things.
Okay, I'll give you the floor.
First is that there's a story we're going to talk about, that's serious. I don't know if I've been so excited to dissect a story, Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster, in so long.
Okay, I'm not going to say anything about it because that's the story.
The second thing is two things. I need to comment on influencer culture really quickly, okay? Because we're obviously getting into the time, make a plan, right? Bring a snack. And I have to say, the influencers are influencing. They are doing what needs to be done. I think we're right on track for literally every single one of your favorite influencers. If they're not doing an endorsement, they are doing a vote. Use this link to make a plan, find an elderly neighbor to take with you, bring a snack, and don't forget an umbrella. But the influencers are doing something that I think we speak about every year, but this year in particular is actually really bothering me. And I am saying exclusively to influencers because I haven't seen celebrities doing it yet. But people are already getting started with Halloween.
Wait, Halloween's next week.
No, already doing stuff, like costumes and stuff.
Are you talking about Jake Shane?
You know what? I am talking about Jake Shane. Seriously, I feel like I can say this because I love him.
He's putting the pressure on.
Because I love him. We don't know what we're doing yet for Halloween, but we were maybe thinking of doing something similar to what he did in terms of pop girls. Now, he went and did it literally eight days before Halloween. That's not fair.
No. And also, so what is he going to be doing on actual Halloween?
Probably busy. That's why he released it. Good on you for planning, but- I agree with you.
Halloween is not... Well, I guess people are going to be celebrating Halloween this weekend. Some people. We're going to start seeing costumes this weekend, and we'll have to accept that. But for the worker bees to be doing their Halloween content right now. I also saw James Charles.
They're making their content. You get dressed up for Halloween and go to a party. But as an influencer, you also get dressed up and do a photoshoot and then take it all off and go home. And so I'm starting to see some of the photoshoots roll out. Too soon. Too soon. And I feel like because I have a great relationship with Jake Shane, I can call him out and letting him know, you need to do less.
Yeah, you're making the rest of us look bad.
And people keep saying, Jackie and Claudia- We're nervous. Haven't discussed. This is the first year where we still don't know what we're doing.
Yeah, usually by this point, we know what we're doing. We have some ideas floating around, but obviously none of them is powerful enough to just... Yeah, for us to call it. I think that is also a reason why what Jake Shane did is even more hurtful. Even more hurtful. Yeah.
I feel like we've been talking about Jake Shane a lot.
Just because in the vlog, if you're- We thought we saw Jake Shane at the beach the other day. We definitely saw Jake Shane's older brother. Cousin, yeah. We definitely did.
That's what the influencers are getting up to. Then I've reached a breaking point yesterday. I'm having this weird relationship with my phone these days. It makes me sick. Usually my bed-rodding time where I could literally spend two hours before bed just scrolling different apps is my greatest joy. It's actually making me sick these days.
Mentally or physically?
Mentally. That's a good question. It's also making me physically ill. The whole thing, I'm feeling like I'm rejecting my phone. I'm just like, whenever I go downstairs to hang out with you and the kids, I'm like, I'm literally leaving my phone up here. I don't want to be with it. I'm trying to figure out what that has to do with, and I do think a lot of it has to do with the election. I'm just so sick of hearing about people who aren't me. It's enough already.
Yeah, well, it's less than two weeks, right?
Yeah. It's just like, I've had enough. Kamala this, Trump that. What about me? What about turdy? I'm seriously sick of it.
I understand.
No, and the podcast war is being a part of this election and nobody came knocking at our doors. I feel sick.
We didn't put ourselves in the fight, but we hoped someone would ask us to join.
Yeah, because we couldn't go out and pitch people. But if somebody came to us, no matter who it was, we would have had no choice and we would have done it.
Yeah, but they would have to come into my house and sit in front of the Flamingos.
Oh, you would want them to fly down to Toast HQ?
I just feel like that would be hysterical. I also feel like- If we had a presidential candidate in my house.
I also think it would be the security team for whatever presidential candidate would actually prefer that. This is much more secure than a hotel It's like a million people. It's just your house.
I guess there's still two weeks and people are still doing stuff. Now the Vips are really hitting the circuit. I saw on the comedy charts, Tim Walsh and JD Vans.
By the way, if you looked at the comedy charts this week, it was JD Vans, Tim Walls, Jack Jacky's, Eres tour, Jacky's version. Yeah.
Just, yeah. That feels right.
Three icons, yeah.
So maybe a VIP will reach out to us. But again, it's not fair for us to complain because we've done zero outreach and we haven't even put ourselves in the game. However, if a toaster on a campaign listens to the toast, she would have known that we were open.
Okay, I just want to say, so I did a little bit of research. I actually might have even forgotten to tell you this. I do know that there's a toaster pretty high up on one of the campaigns, not the VP, the P.
Can you tell me which one?
Oh. Yeah, I looked at her Instagram. I was just doing recon to see if anybody... Are we just making stuff up? Or are we actually maybe... Our name was definitely floated across a couple of desks. I'm sorry, I have to believe that it was. And then I saw this Swirly, who's head of comms or whatever, was following us. Yeah, no, it's just interesting. It's not meant to be. I am sick of it. I've really had enough.
Okay, well, there's still two more weeks, probably going to be the most volume in these next two weeks. It's enough already. Then hopefully, it will be quiet. However, speaking of the podcast, Residential Wars, Trump is on Joe Rogan today.
It's like the podcast wars are just over. Once Joe Rogan stepped in, it's like, Hope you kids had fun up until now.
Right. It's funny that when Kamala did It's not going to be a bit... Call Our Daddy, we're like, Will Trump do the toast?
Will Trump do the toast? No. He went straight to Joe Rogan. He'll do Joe Rogan. I wonder if he went to Joe Rogan's studio.
100%.
You have to think about the security of these things, though. One time, I happened to have been, not to make everything about me, in the secret service bubble. So wherever the President goes, they create a bubble. I don't know what the actual radius is. It's probably a mile around, where every building is totally secure. And there was a fundraiser in my old building. A very rich person lived in my building. It was a fundraiser for Biden while he was present. Well, he still is, but he was...
I think the radius wouldn't have a mile in the city. That's the entire city. It was probably because you were in the building.
No, but it was like when I was walking home from work, I had to show my ID at every corner to get in. Got it. And then walking Romeo. But I was like, it was Theo back then. I was loving the attention. I was like, Ben, I'll walk Theo tonight. He was like, really? Why? You literally never have. I just wanted to see what was going on. Maybe I would be leaving the building the exact time. I met a couple of secret service agents. We had some good chats. Did you ever share this on the toast?
I feel like you did. And what are they doing chatting to you?
What else are they doing? They literally are just standing in the elevators. They're busy. The ones that I was talking to, their job was to be the elevator button pusher. You couldn't push your own buttons, even. It was really secure. Got it. I asked, I'm like, so... I think I said, what if you... How did you get What if your personal politics disagree with the person you're protecting? He's like, We literally don't give a shit. We have a job to do.
Yeah, I think you could ask that question about a lot of people, like government workers, military. They were really nice, too.
They gave all the staff in my building, like presidential and everyone was so excited. I was jealous.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Yeah, but it was a cool thing to be a part of. Yeah. Yeah.
That is cool.
Like I said, it's very secure. Lots of things need to be done. I don't know if Joe Rogan's Ranch is approved.
No, I think that it is. One, everyone goes there. And two, he's the one who's more mobile right now on his plane, jetting here, jetting there. He's not the President. No. They're on the road. What's one stop in Austin? It can be done. She was going to be in Vegas. They're just on the move.
Kind of jet setting.
Also, I don't think it would be the same if he wasn't in the studio because Joe Rogan has really never left the studio. That would be the crazy thing. Does he ever leave the studio?
No, I don't think I've ever seen him. I think he did once a South by Southwest pop-up, and he literally recreated his own studio.
I know you don't watch the reels I send you anymore. Let's talk about that. But did you watch the reel I sent you that was a spoof on Joe Rogan? It was so funny.
You just been taking it to the next level in terms of volume.
No. One, it's because I love you. Of course, of course, of course. And you're thinking of me. These are expertly curated for your personal preferences.
Let me tell you, a day will come, and we've also been together, so she'll probably just tell me in person. A moment will come where I'll sit down and watch everything I missed all at once, which obviously is not the best way, but it's the way I'm currently surviving.
Well, the concept of The Real was about how Joe Rogan and his guests will spoof and take a joke really, really far, just fucking around. Then Joe Rogan will be like, Well, that couldn't happen. The person will give their next like, Oh, and then the zombies shoot out lasers. Then he's like, Getting real. Then he's like, Well, zombies can't shoot out lasers. It was funny to me.
We have a great show today. Just let's do a quick run of show, shall we? It's Thursday.
Q-r-s.
W-u-v-w-x-y-n-z. No, it's a great day because Thursdays are always really relaxed around here. We're wedged between Wednesday's Chaos of Deer Toaster and Friday's Drama of Queenie and Weenie. So we just get to relax and unclench today. The story These are very casual.
They are casual, and it's, aside from Sutton Foster, the rest of the four are pretty interchangeable in a good way because that's giving... We're all doing our part. We're all equal players. We all have a lot to contribute. I think we all sing. We do. We all make news.
I agree. I agree. And I agree.
So I look forward to that. I look forward to that, too. And then it's also our final show together in Florida, which I'm sad that you're leaving, but I've finally gotten to the place that you're at, which it's like, I prefer remote podcasting.
I am so glad to hear that.
I always thought you were crazy for saying that. I always thought it was your way of just making it seem remote. It's better because it's what we fucking do.
Because it's our only option.
Right, but it's better.
It's better. I'm so glad you've come around. I literally hate podcasting with you in person. It sucks because I wish I liked it more because I would spend more time here.
But seriously- I need to build you a studio in my house so that we can remote podcast. We can still do it separately.
I like the way it looks better remotely. I like the way I perform better remotely. I don't know. I don't fuck with sitting so close to you.
I agree. However, the plus side of being together is the content for Patreon. Yeah, I know.
We really crushed it this week.
We filmed a Muck Bong last night. Also, I was on the phone with Shannon this morning. Yeah, I was on the phone with Shannon this morning, and I We need to find a way to sneak that in. It was a FaceTime, and Taylor was there, too. Wow. I just needed to humble, brag for a second. That's interesting. I told her how we Muck Bonged last night, and she was like, Muck Bong? It's called a Muck Bang.
It is called a muckbang, but it's also called- It is.
I'm like, We've been doing this for six years, calling it mookbong. That wasn't even me majdjian-ing it.
The thing is, it's a Korean phrase, I believe. It was invented in Asia. Maybe not Korean. It was invented in Asia. It's a very popular form of There's a lot of entertainment there. However we say it, we're probably mispronouncing it. I think if you want to be really Indigenous, you could say mookbong. But the American version is- I think that's a doctrine.
We're going harder on the wrong pronunciation. Mukbang.
That's a really good question.
She looked to me like I had six heads, and it wasn't even me doing the Elk of Dreamers. I know I'm using the word wrong.
Mukbang pronunciation. I like this Google. Muckbang. Were they... I'm luck bang. I'm luck bang.
Thanks, Shannon.
Wow, that's crazy. Okay. All right, well, that's all I'm on.
We'll see where it goes from here. Yeah. I was on the phone with Shannon. Not a big deal. Okay, rub it in. Really not Yeah, I knew you would be jealous.
Yeah, of course I am.
I had to bring it up. I'm always jealous when you're on the phone with Shannon.
Yeah, because we talk all the time. Should we dive in?
We have a lot to get into today. I think we should, and you have a flight to catch. Not feelings. Catching flights, not feelings. Never, never.
I'm not a motive at all. Yucky. Well, you do your thing.

Which is an absolute pleasure to be here with you today. Sure.
Are you ready for our first story? I know you were born ready for this.
Oh, yeah. Fuck, yeah.
Sutton Foster files for divorce from her husband of 10 years, Ted Griffin, amid relationship rumors with Hugh Jackman.
I had not heard these rumors.
Me neither. So Sutton Foster, who's the star of Younger, has filed for divorce from Ocean's Eleven screenwriter, Ted Griffin. Okay, good to know that that's what he does.
Who knew that she had this high-profile businessman bow in the industry husband? I'm learning so much about her, and I actually... Shit, it's giving Charles.
I mean, it is giving Charles a mid-buzz that she's moving on with her former Musicman co-star, Hugh Jackman. So many things about Sutton Foster that you wouldn't expect. She was in younger. She actually is the age of the character, even though she looked a lot younger.
She looks amazing. She is also one of the most world-renowned Broadway actresses of our time, singing, dancing, the whole thing.
Yes. And then she was in a revival of The Music Man on Broadway with Hugh Jackman. I remember when that was happening.
It was just recently in rave reviews. Everyone in New York was like, You have to go. You have to go. Obviously, I didn't. I hate Broadway.
However, at the time, Hugh Jackman was married to, of course, Deborah. Deborah. Deborah. My Debs, he would call her. A few years ago, we reported that they had split, even though they were together. They were one of those Hollywood couples that she actually was older than him. They were together forever. She was a producer behind the scenes, and they just seemed solid as a rock.
You never worried about them. That's why the news was shocking. Was it a few years ago? It was a while ago. It was a while ago, yeah. I want to say that maybe two years.
Right. Then Now, Sutton has filed for divorce, and rumors that the marriage was on the rocks began swirling in Broadway circles when she was starring in The Music Man with Hugh Jackman, apparently. But of course, I would have dismissed that all as hoey because Of course, two beautiful talented people are going to gravitate towards each other and you're going to just make something out of nothing. You're going to make stuff off. Yeah, but now- However, multiple sources have told Page 6, which would be the publication for this because it's a Broadway thing, that the two have fallen in love.
If that's the case, I ship so hard. First of all, we absolutely love to see an age-appropriate relationship in Hollywood. They are so few and far between that when they are here, no matter, even if there was an overlap, maybe someone cheated, I don't give a shit. We need to We need to seriously encourage behavior like this. We need to give them all the love and all the follows and all the likes because people should be encouraged to date people their own age in this industry. So that's for one.
Yeah, he's 56, she's 49. And at this point, you can't stop fate. If these two were destined to fall in love on the set of the music band. It was going to happen, and everyone needs to get out of the way.
No, and I think that you hear this and people are automatically like, cheaters, right? But I think that meeting someone that you're really taken by, that doesn't automatically mean you're fucking. But it can plant seeds of doubt. And you're like, well, I shouldn't be feeling this way about someone if I was so solid in my marriage. There is a way to go about it that's respectful.
And I think a year's long thing like this is the best way to go about it. Obviously, seeds of doubt were planted for him. Well, not obviously. Who knows what the fuck happens. All this can be fake, too. He and his split a few years ago, maybe because he saw that he has stronger feelings for Sutton, and he shouldn't feel that way. So he left the relationship, and now maybe Sutton is coming to the same conclusion. Whatever it is.
There's only a couple of pictures of them together, Sutton and Hugh Jackman from promo, that aren't on the stage, on a red carpet. Everyone keeps using the same one where they're like, hugging each other and smiling at the camera, cheek to cheek. Do you see it? Yeah. It's a photo It's filled with love.
It is. However, it's also a photo that you would take with your platonic-Castmate who you love.
I hope that it's love here.
Also, a fun fact about this story that's neither here nor there, but important, is that she picked out her wedding dress to Oceans 11 on Say yes to the dress.
I don't believe you.
It's right here in black and white. She picked out her wedding dress on TLC's Say yes to the dress when they got married.
I just feel like they really didn't need to put that in the article. But I'm glad they did.
As I said, this story is layered.
Sutton Foster is layered. I also feel like Satin Foster is so cool because she's someone who had a peak and a real breakout moment in her career much later than you would think. I think maybe it was discouraging or whatever. But she was known in more artsy circles before Younger. But Younger really put her on the scene.
But remember a few years ago when we were in Utah, we were watching the Morgan Tabernacle Choir at Christmas. It was just what was on local TV. It was really beautiful. Then the lead singer was Sutton Foster. Yeah.
She's not even Norman. I think they just paid her to show up.
Because she's a beautiful singer. Yeah, she's like, There's Liza. She's a great talent. There's Liza. It was maybe one flaw in the movie.
Why was her name Liza? I mean, in the show, Younger, she didn't look like Eliza. She was like a suburban Mom.
I think Liza. My name wasn't Liza. Is multi-generational. Also, it's derivative of Elizabeth. Maybe when she was born, she was called Elizabeth. Maybe later, she was Liza when she was trying to make it cool. Maybe. And younger. Lizzie.
Lizzie. Well, I, for one, really hope all of this is true. And even if it's not, I'm so glad this story brought me things that I didn't know, I needed to know, like Sutton Foster's private life. And also when I first saw the story, it took me a couple of seconds because I thought I was... I just was reading. It said Sutton Foster, but I was reading Sutton's track. And I was like, wait, I ship.
I saw it with the photo. And I've always known... Did you know that they were in the Music Man on Broadway? I've always known that, weirdly. I hadn't forgotten that fact. I don't think my brain wanted me to forget.
For a reason.
And And so I was like, it took a few years, but here we are.
No, I love it so much. And I feel like because the entire time we've known Hugh Jackman, he's been married, and the only real rumors about him were ever that he's gay, and that's just because he like, sing and dances for a living, no other proof. So I'm glad he's having a swirly moment with a rumor. We love that for him. We've never had that.
Yeah, we haven't. So I'm just going to let these two take it from here. I feel like they probably feel the need to let some time pass, but no, don't let the grass grow under your We're ready. You just know we're ready.
We are comfortable seeing PDA paparazzi pictures. Go, leave the house.
And you know, life is short, and these two are in...
The later seasons of their life.
The later seasons. There's no time to waste on your happiness.
It's so true. That's beautiful.
You already put in the time of waiting in the last few years. Seriously, come out.
No, by the way, I need a reality show docuseries. I'm obsessed with these two.
Are you ready for our next story?
I guess. If it's not Sutton and Hugh, who gives a rip, but yeah.
It's one of our favorite discussions, topics of discussion. Taylor, Jason, Travis podcast.
Yeah, I love this.
Because Jason, Kelsey is denying falling asleep at the Taylor Swift-era's tour show in Miami. I feel a real kinship to him in this moment.
Of course you do. He was attacked online.
He was attacked online for something that he didn't do. It had to do with- The Erres Tour. The Ares Tour. Then he clarified on his podcast.
Literally you this week.
Classic us.
Then I want to say something.
Jason Kelsi denied falling asleep at the Ares Tour show in Miami on Friday after a viral photo showed him appearing to doze off from his VIP box at the Hard Rock Stadium. Travis asked him, You took a nap at Ares Tour. What's that all about? He immediately shut down his brother's assumption, telling him he did not take a nap. He said, Travis, you know I did not take a nap. I did not take a nap. That's my plate. He said that the show was electric. They had a box because they brought the whole family. It was Donna's first time. The girls were going, so they were like, Let's bring everyone. Let's get a box. But I guess they didn't realize that the box that they got was really in the middle of things. There was no privacy. He was dancing, singing everything up on his feet, but he needed a break. He said that he sat down and shut his eyes because that's something that he used to do when he was in jazz band and just really feel the music. You can even see in the photo that his hand is hovering above his leg because he's mid-tapped.
Because he's mid-padding and bopping his knee up and down.
So he said, I was not sleeping. I was just feeling the music in the way that I do. Travis did corroborate, you do do that. But he had a negative experience with people attacking him for not being into the Ares tour enough, which I can relate to.
And to be completely honest, I saw the craziest TikTok I sent it to you yesterday of these two swirlies who are podcasters who went to the Ares tour at Miami the same weekend as us. And they were talking about the tour, and then they did a whole part on their segment how the entire night was ruined by their attempt to leave the concert. They must have left at the very end. The way they described it, I had never felt better about us getting out of Dodge 15 minutes early. She said they walked three miles. Nobody at the facility knew where anyone was supposed to go, so They'd ask someone, they'd say, Oh, walk this way. They'd walk a mile, and then they meet someone else. They said, No, that way. Complete disarray in their heels. Literally, she said, We were on the side of the road in the pitch black on the interstate, freaking out, so scared, hysterically crying.
They said a lot of people were walking on the side of the road. The stadium is right off the highway, so that's just not safe.
No. The way they were describing it, it reminded me of the last... Was it maybe two times ago? I went to Luke Holmes. We ended up leaving. What's Gillette? We left at the end, but we left left through the wrong entrance. I don't know where the hell we were because we had these backstage passes and we just went out some random door. We were in the pitch black on these scary roads. There was nobody there. We were so afraid no Ubers could come behind us because every single road was closed. It was me, Margot and Emily. It was raining. We're crying, walking in the rain in so much pain. We literally got lost.
It was raining for eras too. Yeah.
It reminded me of that. I remember, and I was the oldest out of Margot and Emily, so I was the one who has to be in charge. Nobody was more scared than me. Like pitch black in the middle of Boston. I don't know where the fuck I am. We're walking Taking these streets, not a single car. So fucking scary. The way they were describing it on this podcast reminded me so much of that, but honestly, worse.
Yeah. No, it sounded like everything we were trying to avoid by just leaving a few mirror songs early.
Yeah, a few mirror.
Yeah, No, I have to reach out to those girls and say thank you for just.
Validating, yeah. But back to Jason and Kelsey. So first of all, this is a funny saga, but I also think the way he respond on his podcast, I was cracking up watching the clip. Who knew Jason and Kelsey was in jazz band?
Right.
We got to get him on stage at the Ares Tour next.
Who knew that Jason and Kelsey has these meditation practices that we could all really try and learn from?
That's the thing about Jason and Kelsey. He's like an onion. A podcast is such a great platform for someone like that. Because every episode we're learning new things about him. It's true. It was really funny. They were talking. I like how he also said, I needed a break. You could see everyone around us and at every show I've been to has their break songs, whether it's going to the bathroom, getting a snack, or just sitting down and resting your feet. Because so many of the girlies in specific... They spend months getting their outfits ready, and they're wearing the most uncomfortable shit, like Spanks, heels, and you need a break. So even to see a person who's in really great physical shape and who is a man who's just wearing sneakers, him also needing a break, it felt validating.
Yeah, it was really funny.
It was really funny.
I think the person who took the picture is actually his friend. Yes.
They were talking about the person who took the picture on a first-name basis.
Yeah, and Jason was like, Seriously, fuck you, Bo. Travis was like, No, that's a good friend. They're just They're funny. Then they also don't give a shit, and that's really nice. It's refreshing. But as long as the lured wasn't offended.
Of course she wasn't offended. It's just absurd. The Swifties came so hard for Jason and Kelsey. I think that was also the first time any of them have experienced that side of the Swift because it's all fun when everybody loves you. Travis, yeah, yeah, yeah. Then, oh, wait, you're sleeping at our girls concert. To see that side of the fandom probably spuked them a little bit.
Yeah, there was a lot of drama at Erras Miami, wouldn't you say, after all?
By the way, I would say there was a lot of drama at Ares Miami. I have to say, I was thinking about this the other day because I feel like a lot of people, there are people who don't like Taylor, and they don't have their reasons. They just are like, She read songs about her boyfriend. It's idiotic. But I think a lot of the times people's dislike for Taylor is mistaken for a dislike for her fans because there are... Most of her fans are normal people who just enjoy her music, but any fanda, but she is the biggest fanda, so she has the most of those toxic ones. I think a lot of times people end up not liking Taylor because they think that's what all of her fans are like, and they think that's what she's like, and they You get that association from that pocket of your fans.
Where's I going with this? I don't know, but I have a point to raise.
Sure.
Which is that what's so funny and what's so ugly about the internet, it's like when you go to a Taylor Swift concert, there's actually nothing more beautiful than the Swifty energy and the love and the trading of the bracelets. And none of that internet ugliness is there whatsoever. It's actually the sweetest place on earth. It's so true. And then everyone all of a sudden gets behind the screen as a keyboard warrior, and that's where the ugliness happens. And it's just a reminder get off the internet.
By the way, it's so true. The Erris tour is a culmination of just true joy and real girlhood. I know it's for everyone, but we were saying so many mothers and daughters. It was so sweet. And it really is this IRL moment of joy and positivity and colors and music. Music. It's not like a... It's just sweet. It's for kids. It's kid friendly. Yes, some of the discourse online, but that's all things. But because Taylor's community is so big.
No, but that's just a perfect way to see. Yeah, you could make that case about other things, but Here's one in particular.
Yeah, no, that's a good point.
Do it that way, you will. That's why Tarty's putting her phone down.
That's why I'm putting my phone down.
I'm over it. I'm with you, but it's just I told you my lesson from you and people were like, It's our family chat that keeps me addicted. So true.
For me, it's TikTok. Because when I was talking about that mental and physical sickness-You should do a TikTok week without TikTok.
Just once.
You want to know why I can't?
Why?
Because Nobody would miss me.
No, not about you not posting. Honestly, you could make content and send it to someone to post. Delete TikTok from your phone for one week. See how you feel. It might just be an interesting experiment for the toast. Tell us what happened. Okay. You know what?
Yeah, I like that. I like it. Not right now, but maybe in a few days.
I know, you're taking a flight. Yeah, of course, I'm on. Our next story is actually semi-related to our second story.
What number story? Three. Okay.
Maddie Healey is revealing why he's not interested writing about romantic liaisons after his tailored split.
I'm frankly not interested in hearing about Maddie Healey. I know. The way he talks is so dreadful and British and not substantial.
Don't bring the British into this because they're actually beautiful or The Ridders. It's true. And those are the best shows. They have the best writing. It actually- Yeah, they're intellect. It actually is like nothing to do with the British. Okay, fine. Everything to do with Maddie Healey. So during an appearance on Joshua Citarella's podcast called Doomscroll.
Okay, me.
He revealed his thoughts on writing songs about previous relationships. He said, Last year, I became a way more well-known public figure for loads of reasons. The only reason that I was interested in is what I was doing. So I think that a lot of artists, they become very interested in their lore. They become interested in the things that have happened outside of their art that people know about, and they want to address that. And fair enough. Do you know what I mean?
No.
I guess I get what he's saying right now up until this point. Okay. Then he said that he was more open to writing about heartbreak and all these stories about relationships on the first record, but he doesn't feel the need to do that anymore. I would just be lying if I made a record about, I don't know, all the stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons or whatever. It may be that I've become known for it just because I was famous. I think that that's an obvious thing to draw from, and I'm just not interested in it. I think the maintenance of the status quo is something that I always fight against. So yeah, that's where I'm lost.
But he's basically saying it's so pedestrian to write music about other people that you've dated who are famous. It's a low hanging fruit type of thing. Yeah. He said- Meanwhile, up until this point, that's exactly what he said. He's a musician who writes about love.
He's not just talking about the relationship, which, by the way, he called casual- Casual three separate times.
Right.
Which is rude. Yeah. He's also talking about the experience of being this public figure, disliked person, the experience of having an album written about him. Then he would write a retort to how that made him feel. Similar to how reputation is not about a love, it's about an incident. And he's saying that he doesn't have interest in writing about these incidents that took place in the public, that that's not what music he wants to write. He said, So the idea of making a record about something that personally happened to me, that by the time I put it out, it's going to be two years old. I see people doing that as well, and it's not interesting. So this is just insult after insult.
Because the thing is, say what you want. Yeah, people do it, and they release things three years. It's still interesting. Sorry. I like it. It's giving very condescending. I know other people do that, but I'm better than that. Yeah.
No, and it If he wanted to say his side of the story in an album three years later, I think people would be paying attention. It would be interesting. I guess he's saying that that's not the stuff he wants to make music about.
Okay. We really don't care what you do.
Yeah. Plus, don't forget, now he's engaged.
Yeah. To that Lisa Rina's daughter's twin.
Lisa Rinna's daughter's twin, Charlie XX's friend.
I don't know if they're friends. Charlie XX dates for a long time another member of his band, 1975.
So they should be friends.
They probably are. Her name Gabrielle, the girl that Maddie's- I thought it was Gabrielle. Oh, maybe it is. Maybe I just saw the word I wanted to say.
Yeah, but I think it's Gabrielle. And there's drama with her. She has a lot of friends.
I feel like I always see her. There's drama with Gabrielle and Amelia Hamlin.
Gabrielle was hanging out with Nara Smith at Fashion Week in Milan.
Oh, an unlikely duo. Right? Yeah, well, there's beef between her and Amelia Hamlin.
They're being twins?
Well, they said Amelia, who has went through a bit of a physical transformation in recent years. Is really similar style, makeup, everything to Gabrieette. They say she just talks like Gabrieette. They say she is a single white female in Gabrieette.
Like Kendall and Jason Murray? Correct. Understood.
Back to Madahili, literally We don't care. And especially, you were never going to be seen as the hero in this situation. Keep calling it casual. Say it again. I'll kill you. It's so fucking rude. But also now with Travis being in the mix, it's like, seriously, stop talking.
It's giving-He can eat you for breakfast. Okay?
And it's like, we all moved on so quickly from you because Travis did that for us.
Actually, the only way out of this mess is not to keep doing things like this, but to put out an album or a body of work, whether it's a book or anything where you explain yourself. Other than that, we don't want to hear from you about this unless you have any side of the story that's different than what we have heard, which of course, there is going to be his side.
Of course, and that's fine. But he keeps dismissing and really Gaslighting Taylor. Casual, casual, casual. Meanwhile, these are people who have been linked to one another for years. There's nothing casual about seeing someone multiple times over the course of your young adult life, all throughout your 20s. It's actually so fucking rude and belittling to keep saying casual. He didn't even say relationships, like casual flings or whatever. Shut up. It's actually so rude.
Yeah. I also feel like, no. It's not a full thought. Okay. It's not a whole thought. I feel that.
Not worth putting out there. Never stopped me, but yeah.
It's just not worth putting I love that. Are you ready for our next story? No. Now you're not ready.

You're welcome, One Jurt.
Our next story, it's a little Kardashian news. Oh, yeah. Couple of things, couple of things. The Kardashian Jenner family hosted a Wicked screening with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Arivo and all of the kids. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Arivo gave the Kardashian Jenner clan a taste of Oz during a special VIP screening of their highly anticipated movie, Wicked. Kim posted to her Instagram story showing a glimpse into the special event hosted at her house with most of the grandkids and all of the girls except for Kendall. I saw that funny comment.
Designated survivor. They can't all be in one room at once. But seriously, where was Kendall? Why wouldn't she want to watch us?
I think it was for the kids. And so all the moms were there with their kids, but she's not going to go out of her way to watch a movie.
But why? For us, it's the coolest thing, right? If someone was just fucking show me Wicked right now, I'd be so excited. For her, it's just another day in the life.
Yeah, maybe if she was free, she would have gone, but she's not going to cancel her plan. Yeah, I guess. For this special treat.
Okay, for the kids, this is the coolest thing ever. Obviously, they decked it out pink and green and balloons and snacks and popcorn signs. So cool. But I actually saw such an interesting tweet this morning that was quote, tweeting the pop crave thing. Actually, it was from Tyler Oakley, like throwback, the YouTuber. He was like, The fact that the overwhelming response to this is negative really feels like it's marking a cultural shift. People hated this. Oh, it's entitlement. Oh, these kids are rats. They just hated everything about this, which I found so shocking because to me, maybe there was a time where I would have seen this picture and gagged and died. No, I thought it was really cute and sweet. I didn't have a visceral hatred reaction to it, but the internet did.
I don't understand why this is surprising. Not about the internet. That also shouldn't be surprising. But the Kardashian's always get early access to movies. They have big movathons in their backyard, and they do cool things. They always have characters that they like from trolls coming to the house. Why is it so crazy?
I feel it's different And Ariana and Kim, I don't know if they're friends, but over the years, they've acknowledged one another. Then there's Pete. Yeah, but in a positive way. It's all good. And they support Ariana and Beauty and Skims. They're always hyping each other up. I find it surprising that Cynthia would be a part of this because I feel like Cynthia would... She's a theater kid. She would hate the Kardashian's, so mainstream. I found that Ariana and Cynthia's involvement... The fact that they had a screening isn't shocking. And if the official Wicked Company sent them snacks, that's not shocking. But Cynthia and Ariana watching the movie with them, these kids, I find that part a little shocking, no?
That they would want to, I guess. But a lot of people really love them. I think also when you're in Hollywood and you actually have met them, and they were all at the Mech house, so say that they've met. I think people really like them on a personal level. I think so, too. You can't hate them once you actually know them.
They're cool and fun and family-oriented and, broadly, a little bit normal, beyond, obviously, being billionaire There's a lot of designers.
So nothing about this is surprising to me, except for the fact that people were surprised by this. Yeah, no, and people hated it. And that it's a big deal. Why would you hate something like this?
I don't know. For those kids, that's probably so sick.
They probably don't even realize they're seeing it early. They could go to the movie theater next week, but they're just like...
This is just things that happen to them frequently.
It's not like a- Yeah, they see movies at home. Yeah.
It's so cute. It is really cute. There are also so many kids.
Yeah, and this is even all of them. This is mostly the girls. Then two of the little boys who But Mason's not there, Reine's not there.
I don't think Mason would want to see Wicked. No, it's seriously the cuteest thing. And who's this guy? That's Franky Grande's husband. Franky Grande's husband. Even Ariana brought her family. It's surprising. Now, I saw this clip of Cynthia Arivo. Rolling Stones, I don't know if it's new, they copied varieties like actors on actors. They do Musicians on Musicians where they pair two random musicians and they just talk about life in the industry. Cynthia Arivo was paired with Renee Rapp, and Cynthia Arivo It's talking about what her esthetic and her vibe is when she records music in the studio. She was basically saying she's taken so seriously. No alcohol is allowed in the studio. Just her, the piano guy, and the sound engineer. Renee Rapp, who obviously does things so differently. She's just listening, being like, Okay, that's cool. Her reaction, she's actually actively disassociating. It's so funny to watch. Cynthia Arevo, seriously, sounds dreadful in it. She's just so serious, and I'm like, Okay.
Serious Arivo? Arevo?
Serious Arevo, yeah.
I like people who are serious. I do. I don't mind when people take themselves seriously if what they are doing is serious, and I feel like she's a serious vocalist. And she is. I like when people take things seriously. Me too.
But just like, it was a little like, okay. Another thing about this picture, obviously, everybody's wearing custom Skims. That's a wicked green, Ari is wearing the pink, and the kids are wearing definitely like, skims kids. It's So cute. Did you see Chris Jenner? Actually, my friends from high school put it in the chat. We were cracking up. Did you see what Chris Jenner wore for Halloween? No. I already saw her getting dressed up. She was snow white, and she was wearing a really sexy Snow White. I was really shocked to see because she was with her grandkids. It was like, Grandma is Snow White. It was just a little...
Was that promo for that movie?
Look. The kid swiped it. Yeah. By the way, she looks great.
She does look great, but it's giving- She doesn't look like anyone's grandma. The A costume from whycandy. Com. Correct.
Dolls kill.
Sexy Snow White. Dolls kill. Yeah.
Is that funny?
That is funny.
I'll switch with you.
Switch back. And then the second part of the story is the new Skims campaign that dropped with Olivia Munn in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Olivia Munn is bearing her mastectomy scars in the new Skims campaign.
Oh my God, I loved this so much. I actually, oddly felt deeply moved by it. Olivia Munn shared the story of how it came to be, and I actually really liked the The way it unfolded, Skims did not come to her being like, Let's exploit you for breast cancer awareness. Show your scars. It was just supposed to be a regular campaign, nothing having to do. I think maybe they decided that a portion of the proceeds, because it was October, would go to breast cancer awareness. Then it was Olivia Munn's idea to bear her scars because she has this really complicated relationship with them. She still love her boobs, and now they're just a reminder of this trauma. But she had this shift that was like, No, they're a reminder of everything that I've been through and how strong I am. So many women are so ashamed of them that maybe if they saw one on a billboard, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. The fact that it was It was all her idea. I loved so much. Honestly, it was deeply touched by this campaign.
Yeah, it really is beautiful and has a beautiful story behind it. I actually think it's something that wouldn't move the needle to make other women just feel more comfortable.
I completely agree. I think a lot of times people do stuff that's so performative. It's going to help people.
I actually think it's not- No, you're just helping yourself.
No, it's so true. Olivia Munn didn't say, I want to help people. I just think she will help people by doing this. She looks so gorgeous and her boobs look amazing. I love Olivia Munn these days. I'm obsessed with her. I think that this actually will move the needle. Yes.
Yeah, really sweet and just great on all fronts.
Yeah, agreed.
Approved. Approved. Are you ready for our fifth and final story? I am. It wouldn't be a fifth and final story without there being some Rachel Ray news.
Oh, my God. What is our Shirley getting into?
Rachel Ray is in the news cycle now because she has her new podcast and she's making it work. She's talking on her new podcast and giving a concerning health update weeks after the Slurring Words Instagram video. She She revealed on her debut episode of her podcast called I'm Sleep When I'm Dead, not called 30 Minute Combos.
Literally the worst title ever.
That she recently suffered a couple bad falls but didn't go into more detail. She said, and Jenny Mullen was the guest on her first episode. She said, I'm a homemaker. I love chores. I love being in the kitchen. I always work with my brain every day. I'm always writing something, but I really like chores. I like what people consider physical work, making dinners, planning dinners, making lists. I actually have a lot in common with Rachel. Anyway, she said, I've had a couple of badfalls in the last couple of weeks, so I haven't been doing that in a while.
Does that necessarily have to do with the video?
I think that's her alluding to it.
Okay. Because she looked physically fine in the video. It didn't look like she had taken a tumble. Yeah. It felt cerebral. Yeah. It was weird.
I don't know.
I'm telling you, something is up with Rachel Ray.
Yes.
Yeah.
And this is not- But then she does a podcast. When something's up with you, you don't start a podcast because you have to lay bare your life.
You don't invite in. She's not someone who needs to stay relevant, needs money. She has an empire. She's set for life. So this is a choice. You're doing a podcast because you want to, not because you have to. I don't know.
I don't know.
This answers no questions for me. It just creates more.
I do feel like I should listen to the podcast in order to get a full 360 picture of Ms. Reach.
Also, how is she talking on the podcast? Is she slurring like she wasn't?
Probably not because that would be news. I think she had a bad day and she was wanting to make Asabuco.
Okay. I mean, we've all been there. Yeah. You ever just give up and want to make Asabuco? All the time.
Yeah. But then why do you have a couple falls in one short period?
It's giving.
Claudia at a party.
Drunk. Well, yeah, drunk. Yeah, Claudia at a party. Grown adults with their motor skills intact, don't take multiple falls unless you're impaired in some way, whether that be alcohol or whether you have a physical disability. But she isn't... I don't know. Yes, I fall all the time when I'm wearing my big clunky shoes and I'm taking tequila shots. When you're drunk. Yeah. It leads one to think.
Yeah. Anyways, I should listen to the podcast. If I want to continue to speak on Rachael Ray. Can't promise I'm going to do it, which means what? I don't get to talk about her?
The thing is, I don't want to continue to speak about Rachael Ray, but she's making it really hard.
I like talking about her. I think she's a fun pop culture.
I feel like I say this every time.
Point of reference.
Every time we bring her up. But the The open secret about Rachel Ray is she's the nastiest woman alive. Have you ever said that? Oh, my God. They say, all alleged, she is evil. What? Don't look me in the eyes type of thing. What? That's what they say.
That's really crazy. I know. That's really shocking. Not that she pretends to be so jolly. Susie Homemaker. Where do you get off?
But where she gets off is the fact that she's literally a billionaire.
Yeah, I guess. But was she always that way? I guess you can't.
