Yo, yo, yo, yo, we back, yo. That's right, gang is in the building. Yo, we back, yo. Squad is here. Thank God.
The last episode, shout to the gang for holding it down. Not a gang in case them RICO people was listening. Also, they are. I mean, like, yeah, I mean, like a pod gang. Yeah, crew, crew.
Thank you, crew. Crew sounds so old school. It do. We old, nigga. We old.
I wanna thank you specifically for giving us a really big head start and notice that half the pod was not gonna be here. I try, man. No, you didn't. I try. I try.
We started at 11:30 in the morning typically recording. At 11:35, Joe comes down and says, me and Freeze are not gonna be here. Yeah, sometimes you wanna see what that $2 million almost payroll looks like. Fair enough. Fair enough.
Fair enough. And I think we held it down. They should have it. And I think we held it down.
I think we held it down around the 29th every month. I think, you know what, they got it. Fair enough. Yeah, they got it. Fair enough.
Anyway, me and Freeze are back. We back, baby, we back. Yeah, I mean, we up in this piece. Uh, I was just sharing with my brothers how we're aging and my vision and my memory is fading because this morning I had to ask which toothbrush was mine in the thingamajig. No, for real.
Don't y'all have this in the purse? Yeah, yeah, but we don't— what's mine is gonna be the sink she use. Oh, okay. We like the same color toothbrush. We like the same sink.
She went and bought new toothbrushes. Oh, I can see how that would be. And put them all in there, and Lex got 9 of them. He just do what he want. Just put your initial on them.
I let my kids do what they want. They color code the toothbrushes. Yeah, man, I put a toothbrush in my mouth, the shit start— Oh, my shit ain't doing it. Right up your alley. Wait, you don't have a vibrating toothbrush?
Wait, timeout. With the toothbrushes. You can't come late and make a Joe Budden suck dick joke. Oh shit. Just to be clear, you can't come late and make a, yo, Joe Budden, you be sucking dick joke.
That's what you doing. That traffic, I had to go all the way around. Yo, bro, this shit was insane. I told y'all. No, I'm deadass.
I told them, I said the car was on fire. Yeah, that shit was crazy. I had to go all the way around, tunnel-y bullshit. But— For real. Sorry you went through that.
Yo, when you buy the new toothbrushes, they give you the color code thing. They do. What's the color code? The little ring around the— if you get the fancy, like the best toothbrushes, the Oral-B— anyway, I don't. They got the, like, they got blue, red.
You could put the little ring on it. So that's yours is blue. I have different color handles for my wife and me. Yeah, that's cool. Just issue your shit.
Yeah, what you look like writing with a Sharpie on it? Whatever. It's just better than ghetto shit. You get the black Sonicare and let her get the white Sonicare. Yeah, exactly.
That's all this sounds like. Memorizing the months by your knuckles. I mean, that's what it sounds like. Effective. Or just use— all right, so listen, my good brother Ish just walked in a tad bit late.
No text or phone call, but he's a reliable friend, so I knew he would be here. Mark is also here, but he's editing his nephew's college essay while he's here. So he was sitting there on the laptop. We tried to start. He said, hold up, I do have to finish this, this this line.
Mark will not say no to anything, any gig. He don't say no. If there's one person that needed to learn how to say no, it would be Mark Lamont. That's true. He don't see the value in it.
He don't, he don't get how it saves you from— yeah, whatever, man. I ain't preaching it. So Mark will be here after he finishes his homework. Uh, and our good brother Flip called me this morning. Well, he called Ian this morning and he said Yo, I'm not coming in.
Uh, I got a lot going on. I need to take a mental health day. Nah. In fairness, he came in Friday when he wasn't supposed to be here. That's true.
That's fine. Well then you can say that. Yeah, I gave y'all one, I need one. Why can't he have a mental health day? Because he's a man.
That's what I was about to say. Period. That's toxic, yo. Okay, it's some toxic shit we roll with. Yo, I was gonna hit him and say, yo, I love you, I'm here for you, yada yada yada.
And I was gonna call him all sorts of bitch-ass names. But I felt that was inappropriate to do if somebody's really going through like a mental health thing. That's true, we don't know what's going on. But I didn't think that he would stay home. So he texted me, he said, yo, I'm good, I'm coming in.
So Flip is coming in. He took some Advil. He's coming in. That's how we get over this, man. Take a little Advil.
But, but, you know, the room started clowning, 'cause like Ice just said, you're a guy, you're taking a mental health day. I want us to fight against that. Okay, against the clown. Against the clowning. The clowning of the mental health.
Yeah, man. If anybody needs a mental health day, I encourage you to take it. So do I. You can't tell the person, I'm taking a mental health day off. That's the part we on.
You say you're sick. Yeah, say I'm sick. Say something. You cannot tell. They got the clap.
It's not a safe space. It's not though. This ain't a safe space. We know. All right then, so knowing that, horrible.
Figure out something else. You can't say, yo, I need a mental health day as a man. You can't do better. Yo, mental health day is— yo, we getting too old to be that way with each other. I concur.
Niggas can go ahead and say, yo, I need a day off. I need a day off. Yeah, just say that. That's not saying— are we talking about saying I need a mental health day? But what if your boss says, yo, anything all right?
What you need the day off for? Can't ask that. No, you can't ask that. Can't ask that. You can't ask that.
If somebody say they need a mental health day, you give them a mental health day. I know, look, you said mental health day. I need a day off. If you just say I need a day off, it's different. You wouldn't be concerned.
Oh, what's going on? You all right? I mean, yeah, I'm sick mentally or otherwise. Yo, I encourage people to take a mental health day, and I applaud that shit. To acknowledge that you need one means that you've taken a step back looked at some shit going on in life and said, you know what, let me chill today.
That's true. I'm pouring into me today. I'm investing, I'm dumping, I'm self-loving. Hey yo. It's all about me.
That's fly to me. Yo, Friday, I gotta pour some orange juice in me. Friday, you know what I mean? Mental health. Is that you trying to say?
I tried to make the correlation with this nigga. Nigga did. He gotta pour some orange juice. He old. Goddamn.
It's cool. So yeah, so Flip will be here, and if anybody ever needs a mental health day, please, please feel free. Duly noted. Feel free to take it, man. Yeah, thank you, sir.
Can I call and suggest when niggas should take a mental health day? Yes, actually. Yeah, you should. Okay, sometimes you can see it on your brothers, you know what I mean? That's a fact.
You still get mental health pay, right? I never not pay. Oh, that's great. That's great. So you got a bunch of mental health days you need now?
This nigga— no, he said he could call and suggest one. Mental health week. You be looking good, though. You don't— you fine. I'm stressed.
You fine. You don't believe in therapy. I'm stressed. You don't pray before meals. You ain't got no damn mental health shit.
You, Ice, and Parks? Nah, I think he took a shot. Ice pray before meals. No, I pray before I eat every— only Thanksgiving. Y'all don't pray before y'all eat?
He took a shot. He do this shit now. He probably pray every day. Imani is a nutty. I swear to y'all.
You don't do that when you eat? Yes. We go like this. Yeah. Yeah.
This nigga crazy. Bismillah, right? That's how you say it? Bismillah, right? Bismillah.
You pissing him off right now. I see him upstairs. This guy is crazy. Hey. Yeah, I mean, mic check, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2.

If you think I'm here to play around with y'all, goddamn no, I'm not. And E-Money is here. Now listen, E, we've been friends for a long time. What's up? I know we don't talk as much as we should talk.
Aww. So I'm gonna say something to you that I've never said to you before. Mm-hmm. And it's gonna sound awkward, but I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Like, do you know— like, do you know what it means?
Like, you sitting on this couch. What does that mean? Like, do you know what it means when you sitting on, like, this couch with me? Like, we just be— we be friends. Like, we have a love for music, R&B, made songs together, been out, you know what I mean?
Do you know what it means like to sit over here? No, I don't. Tell me, what do you mean?
Showtime. It's pressure. The light is shining on you, my brother. A big chair. It means a lot.
Yeah, I shared stages with you before. My light got brighter. So did mine. The light got brighter. So did mine.
The light's getting bright today. It's getting brighter. All right, all right, then you ready then? Yeah, all right, you right. Listen, I seen you at CultureCon.
We're gonna break down the cons. His face was lit. You see him in the— oh yeah, I seen you on the internet. All right, that's peace. I seen that step and repeat.
You was shining on that step and repeat, nigga. It looked like you couldn't get him to stop flicking. All I heard on the step and repeat. I think, I think I represented myself and us well. Talk heavy.
Did you say, hey, this is about I 100% did. Yeah, because I have Imani from the Joe Budden Podcast and Ayo. Yo, check this out. You listening to the best broadcast in the world. Don't get it fucked up.

Wow, man. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. What episode is this? 970. Welcome to episode 970.
That means in 30 more episodes, it's gonna be 4 digits on you bitch ass. January 20th. I was just doing some math. I think that's— we're gonna end up barring any, uh, you know. All right, all right.
Somewhere around there. It's around your birthday, ain't it? It might. Oh my God. Yo, if he's not gonna play back, let's Let's move on.
All right, fuck it. He's not gonna play ball. If you're not gonna play ball— He's never played ball. Then let's move on. Fuck it.

I like it. I like it. Energetic. Next 10. I like them sneaks, by the way.
Is they, uh, what kind of those? These, uh, You're a dick. These are Fat Joes, man. Salute Terror Squad, man. Oh, salute TS.
Yeah, look at Mar. Yeah, I know. Don't worry. Yeah, don't worry, I got you. Oh, you jacked up.
I got you. Look at Mar. I got you. I see what you doing. Oh shit, these my air niggas, man.
My air niggas. Jesus Mary. That's what happened when you sit in that chair. Lord. Next.
Next to E, come on, man, Philadelphia's finest, our good brother Dr. Marc Lamont Hill is in the building. Marc, how you doing, man? I'm okay, man. I'm a little fucked up by this Freddie Jackson thing, man. I just found out like a minute ago.
We'll talk about it later, but it just— it's crazy to me. I thought you was fucked up 'cause of something else, but— No, we'll get to that too. No, the death of a legend, E. That's true. That's true. That comes first.
But why you so fucked up about it? Um, I just talked to him like maybe like 3 weeks ago. It was just his birthday too, according to— Yeah, it was just his birthday on October 2nd, I believe. Yeah, yeah, we just had a whole moment with him too. We talked about him coming up and all that.
Yeah, are we sure that this is true? It was, it was on his page. Okay, all right. That would have been funny. It's not funny, but— Because I'm just not seeing news on, on the internet.
But you're right, it is on his page. Yeah, that's the only reason I believed it. That's crazy, passing right after your birthday. That's— oh, there's something kind of beautiful in it in a way, you know what I mean? But I would think so.
Yeah. Yeah. Legend. Absolute legend. Legend.
We'll talk about it. I'm glad you're here to help us talk about it. But I'm good otherwise, man. It's been a good, good weekend. Good, good.
Absolutely love that. Glad you're doing well. Uh, next to him, our good brother, Mr. Thousand Doors and Up. Might see him in DC if you're lucky.
Our good brother. He might. It is, right? Because he won't never finish the Queens Child Project. He won't never finish it.
The Newark Child Project. Yeah, it's just ongoing forever. We right there. That's what they always say, right? Right there, right there.
Hey, we close to the finish line. Yeah, yeah, no doubt. Oh man, lucky residents. Teach your kids in there in a minute. Okay, great.
Oh, anyway, Ish is here, y'all, man. Make some noise for Ish. How you doing, man? I'm great, sir. Yourself?
I couldn't be better, couldn't be better. Next to him, our good brother, Mr. Take It Further himself, Freeze, is in the building. Freeze, what's up with you? I'm good, man. Better.
Feeling better. You feeling all right? Yes, I'm great. You've been sick twice in like the 2 months, and you ain't used to get sick like that. It's the kids.
And you. Yeah, that's really what it is. Wow. It's the fingers in the greens. Is that what it is?
They got everybody sick today. Yo, man, I'm looking at your nails, yo. Come on. Oh. I just kind of— oh.
You put dirty nails in the greens? Yo, seriously. This nigga nails looks disgusting.
We should have jumped the dog shit out of my life. Doing that nasty shit. I think I got the last plate too. I'm disgusted. Clean at 10 in the morning.
No, but forget about the greens right now. I can't forget about the greens. Word. You don't— Say something, P. Savage. It's not dirt.
I was just in my car. It's from these pants is what happened. Both hands.
Audience, Mark nails look like he just changed somebody oil. Yeah. Or cleaned a muffler with his nails. He's gonna put his hands in the nigga brain. It's not dirt, it's lint.
It's lint on the bottom? It's lint. Under all 4 fingernails? Yes, it's from these pants. I decided not to wear gray pants today.
I see a little black. It's a couple of black spots. Yeah, it's from— anyway, all right. Ew. Ew.
Oh my God. I guess we won't hold hands. He's fucking awful. These fucking authors, I'm telling you. Uh, anyway, Elmira's finest, Big Parks is in the building.
Poe is here, Corey is here, Erickson is here, Tanner and Savon are here by remote. Last but certainly not least, each and every one of you beautiful people out there are here. What's popping, y'all? It's good. Everything good, man.
Everything. How's it feel to be back? Oh, great. Feels absolutely great. I was man down.
I'm man down. I needed that. I needed that off day. Mental health day. Mental health No, physical health day.
Yeah, I was down bad. I was fucked up. I was. But y'all held it down, man. Thank, thank y'all.
And the fans loved it.
They couldn't wait. They couldn't wait to press play. Right. You be laughing about that shit too. I know you do.
Laughing about what? When you get that response. Uh, which response? What the fuck is these niggas doing up there without Joe? No, you know he liked that shit.
You like that shit a little bit? Nah, I'm sure it's nice to film this, right? How bad was it? No, y'all are stupid. No, no, I don't.
But it's good to be back, man. Yeah. Yes, it is. That's it. That's all I got to say about it.
That's dumb. Y'all trying to trip me up. Y'all trying to trip me up early in the game. Just making conversation. Nah, yeah, yeah, fuck out of here.
What I'm most thankful about today is that we actually have people to talk about music. We had some good— we had some drops. Yes. We had some important drops. Yes, we did.
And no one to talk about it with at the JBP. We talked about jail instead, a lot. I'm glad I missed that pod. Same. I feel like you would have been perfect in this.
No, no, I wouldn't. I wouldn't. Really wouldn't. Had nothing to contribute to the jail pod. Yeah, because I was home.
I wasn't in, and I hadn't watched the episode yet. And I started getting texts and calls about the episode. Uh, you get a lot of texts. One of those texts, right? One of those texts being from, uh, Sean Stockman.
Shout out to him. Oh, shout out to Sean. But when I learned what he was texting me about, boy, did we kick Marc Lamont Hill's back end for at least 90 minutes. Which was totally unreasonable. And I didn't even need to see the episode to join in with what he was saying.
That's hate. Nah, it's fucked up, yo. Like, when you— when people call you about your man, I be— I do be wanting to defend y'all, but I can't fight the urge. You don't have to defend me. When people call you about your man, right?
I can't fight the urge to be phony in that moment. It's crazy. But what do you call me? I gotta side with whoever's calling me. What do you call me?
Just to spice it up. I'm gonna start doing that. Just to make it fun a little bit. Okay. He said, yo, why is Mark Lamont Hill talking music?
I said, brother, Finally someone who gets it. Yeah, your, uh, your, your, your Babyface— I took your Babyface and Stevie Wonder takes were egregious, especially when you know what Stevie has produced after the year 1980. But you changed it to '85, but still '80 was on the record. We didn't edit it out. Yeah, you could have just— So that means they know somebody up here thought something that crazy.
We didn't edit it out. Could have. No, we wouldn't do that. No, no. When one of y'all up here say something like that crazy— It wasn't that crazy.
It was only one more album. But I say it was— I had the right— I just said the wrong album, and I corrected myself, which you should do on a podcast instead of doubling down. Your baby face, your baby face, I'll make love to you. Which is where me and Sean really bonded. Okay, tell me more.
Who That Love Out Make Love To You. Oh, I love that song. I think his point was just that people don't be fucking to it. Doesn't matter. And that was Bomani's point.
I said that— I was making— that was Bomani's point. Well, that's your other mistake as, as, as your academia brother. Like, you should never want to echo what Bomani is saying about music. I mean, I think you're missing what I'm saying. I was representing his position.
I specifically said I don't agree with Bomani. I don't share that opinion. I love Babyface, but here's what he was actually saying. Because if you have a podcast and everybody's saying the same thing and nobody pushing back, then we're all just like, oh yeah, he was wrong, let's keep going. So I kept saying— Nah, you started to champion some of that bullshit.
Yeah, I don't know what he's talking about. You said, who gives a fuck till I'll make love to you? Nigga. Oh, I think that's true. I think— To which Sean Stockman says, not that he told me to come say it, but I just thought it was a great point.
He says, no, Black people don't fuck to I'll Make Love to You. Okay, I could live with that. Uh-huh, there you go. But people are fucking— Oh, that may be true. To I'll Make Love to You.
I'm not sure that I've ever made love to I'll Make Love to You. Which he says speaks to the greatness of a babyface. And it's a hit song regardless. It's a hit song. Like I said, I don't, I don't agree with Bomani's point.
I just wanted to remember. It's a past hit song. Yeah, you're right. Yeah, it's past hit. It's canon.
Yeah, that, that, that's gone, gone. Smash. Well, here's the other thing. Legendary. Super smash.
Because I know you're messy, I hit Sean Stockman up afterwards. Oh, stop. Oh, he put the fire out. I sure did. I was like, I'm not letting Joe represent me.
This nigga be getting me in trouble with 9th Wonder and Sean Stockman. Shout out to 9th Wonder. And I, I, yeah, and he said that, uh, he understood. And he said after watching the segment, he got what I was saying. Oh, he's lying to you.
He don't give a fuck. Yeah, get off my phone. Yeah, sure, sure, buddy. Maybe. Uh, so, uh, but we do have music.
We do. We do have music. A lot of music came out. I don't know what was covered. I wasn't here.
We didn't talk about anything. Let's cover it now. Where do you— gentlemen, let's start. Please. Okay, we're starting.
Start with the good. Starting with the heat. Yeah. Yes, we're starting with the heat. All right, well, go ahead and talk.
I asked for this. Too. I've been asking for her to drop something, uh, after the last project. It's been a while. And she, she said why she took her time and she had some things going on.
So I'm glad that she dropped this. Uh, the first record, Reach Out, I loved. Like, that was my shit. Yeah. So I was happy that we were gonna get another album.
I will— I'll let you play some stuff first before I give like a full opinion on what I thought of the album. Yeah. Um, I was surprised though. How so? Because the first single gave me— she was gonna give more, um— Which one was the first single?
I didn't— Reach Out. Okay. Reach Out. Okay. And it has more of a— Track 16 is your first single?
It's an interesting choice. You know what I'm saying? So when I heard the rest of the album, I was like, okay, that wasn't the direction of a Reach Out. She covered a lot of bases on this album to me, which is part of my critique of it, but I also understand why you would do that. I mean, you got Bruno on there, you got fucking SZA.
There's big records, there's pop records, there's R&B records. There's kind of like— my favorite shit on here is like the super musical, beautiful shit, which is like the first couple records, and they're scattered throughout. I feel the same way about Tank's album that I feel about her album. Okay, that it was covering too many bases? They covered everything.
You think it's too many, or do you— it could be a dangerous game. Might be. It can be a dangerous game trying to appease to all. But I love her. I love her, period.
Me too, me too, absolutely. Um, what an album. I absolutely love this, uh, Victoria Monét album. I really like it. I love it.
It is fire. Uh, covered a lot of bases like y'all said. Uh, there's super R&B on there, there's pop on there, there's the big features on there, there's EDM on there. And I— but I thought it was all well done and pretty cohesive. Oh, it is definitely all produced written, very, very high level.
Very well produced. It's her, so you know what the pen is doing. Yeah. Uh, but track 2. Track 2 is so amazing.
Track 2, she redoes one of my favorite Isley Brothers records. Let me turn this bad boy on real quick. This record is called Come Back to Me. The intro going into it is crazy. Yeah, it is.
Ooh, yeah. Yeah, let's talk about it now.
Frequency of Love, brand new Victoria Monét.
Yeah, smooth me out. D-Mile, what up? Is this D-Mile? Yeah. You know it's D-Mile.
Good old D-Mile, man. You do it again, you do it again. It's heaven campers for both houses. Oh, they cooked. They did.
Hey, this is hard. This is so hard, so hard.
Hey.
Yo, beautiful, beautiful. What a great way to start. Great way to start a project. Yo, I'm not even about to sit here and play all that. The SZA song, not for me.
I get it. I know why it's there. I understand it. I'm sure it'll be a single. Not for me.
I'm never playing that shit. The Bruno Mars record, I get it. It sounds good and it sounds good. They both got me. Yeah, it's gonna grow on me.
I think they both— both of them are gonna— I feel how you feel about the SZA joint, but I think I think it is gonna grow on me. I wanna be clear, those are really good records. I just know I'm not gonna go back to the Leon Thomas record. I like it a lot. Lucky.
But my favorite— the Lucky record. I like the Lucky record a lot. The Lucky record I like a lot. They usually kill though. Yeah.
But, uh, this was the— yeah, I don't play Eazy. I don't play on that R&B tip, nigga. I know what the fuck is going on around here. And that was kind of my point, like, Her R&B bag, like before she got to all those big features, she was smoking shit. This is head to toe.
This is crazy. Welcome to the camp. Plot twist, know we had plans for tonight. Yeah, no good with staying inside. I'm in a particular vibe, how could I resist?
Yep, but you walking around here like this, scheduled to drive it, to drive, rather make your face my ride.
I ain't gonna lie, her writing on this album is like, like she found her favorite eater. I didn't— yeah, somebody, somebody is, is sucking that shit off of the bone if you listen to this album. She got us a pretty porny R&B bag, which is not my favorite, to be honest with you. It sounds great. She's beautiful, so I'm I mean, everything about this should be good, but it's done in a fire way though.
Yeah, it's done in a fire way. I think I just would have liked maybe them to be later in the album, I think, or something sequencing-wise. It threw me off to be this early to be getting super horny. For me, I want to go to that. I want to go to that fucking All the Things Your Man Won't Do.
What are you saying? Oh, sorry. That's me. Hey. Oh, yeah.
Yes, yes. Victoria Monét.
Again, this is the same record. Yeah, production's amazing. Chords.
Yeah, I'm gonna let it go because I wanna, I wanna play the end of this record, which sounds like it could be of just fire interlude, but It's still the same record. Um, Joe Thomas is written as a writer. Well, it's 'cause that's— 'cause it's a sample from— Oh, look. Yeah, come back in. Yeah, take it back to, uh, Village Underground on him.
Yeah. Rest in peace, Ron. Shout out to everybody used to be at Village Underground. Used to be a time. Boy, boy, we had a time.
I thought Imani was gonna bring it back, but he pussy. Fuck, shut up. This nigga's coming back. Ooh.
Talk to him, talk to him. Come on, man, you gotta let this rock.
And I'm— and I won't ruin the surprise. This beautiful interlude-sounding shit at the end of this Head to Toe record is going right into the next record. If you know me, you know the records I'm here for. I'm looking for the records that you can fuck to. Yeah, you're looking for the Portia.
You know I'm looking for it. So all of this pretty, I make love to you, sensual, I care about how you feel shit is going into probably my favorite record on this album. She did horny right on this album. I mean, she did. I mean, no, she, she— yeah, as soon as she finished, I'm playing it.
I'm playing this. All right, that's enough. Yeah, that goes right— come on now. Oh my God, wait a fucking second, wait a second. Yo, anybody out there fuck last night, put a light in the air, man.
I want to come tonight.
Yeah, hey, listen, Victoria, I want to come tonight, nigga. The fuck are you? Yo, what? Yo, what? How many times?
What? What are we doing? What are you saying? What? 'Cause all the fire R&B is coming from these stud hoes, yo.
So we keep hearing about it from the stud perspective. From the strap. Which is Strapping B. That Strapping B keeps dropping. Strapping B is killing that shit.
But sometimes you wanna hear it from— come on, yo, I'm bringing this back.
So it's a real thing, you know what I mean? This is 100% my favorite record on this project. This is insanity. When somebody talking to you like this in your ear.
Oh, go ahead, Mom. Oh my— oh, nah, hey, listen to me on the hook though. Look, that's that pen. Listen to this pen.
This is absolutely incredible.
Arrangements is the fuck. This is amazing. This is insanity.
I'm just gonna stop it because it doesn't count though. She's bugging on this album with that pen, I'm telling you. And she paid homage to a lot of classic R&B. Yeah, yeah, yeah, in a very classy way. And not like unique.
She flipped it. Yeah, not— yeah, yeah, yeah. We're not just gonna steal the whole idea and just Yo, I'm not gonna lie to you. Outside, there's Beyoncé, right? To me, under that, Victoria Monét is the most talented person female-wise, just in the business.
I'm not mad at that take. Musically, singing-wise, pen-wise, get on that stage and perform. She gets busy. Creative. Her and Sean Bankhead, when they get together and create visuals, I don't think there's no one that can really fuck with Victoria Monét.
I can tell when my nigga wanna get in that writing camp. No, no, no, I don't. Hell no. Yo, listen. I've been saying this for a minute.
Know. There's Beyoncé. That's how I feel. Her performance— No, I'm fucking with you, but I don't, I don't think that's a bad take at all. Yeah, it's not a bad take.
I think it should be said more though, cuz she don't get— she gets the attention that it's needed, but I feel like there's still a level— I think it's that, um, coming from behind the scenes to be in front of the scenes thing. There's always going to be like a, oh, she's a writer, you know what I'm saying? Like, it's not an easy thing to do. We got to dub that. I agree, I agree.
She's— the music industry does that in general, and I think it's unfair. Fair. Yeah, especially when there's so many multi-hyphens in the business. What? Now I'm back to you with the, the whole taking the risk of putting so many different sounds on a project, and she nailed each sound.
She did. Yeah, but for a person who's probably just getting aware of her, or whoever, whatever it is, it could be a little distracting to some people. But for me, I, I think it was done very well. I agree. I wanted more of the R&B than some of the other stuff.
I was— even though I think— When I say other stuff, I mean the— this is like a super porny R&B to me, which I like. It was just early in the album, I think, for me. It was the big thing. Okay. Yo, slaps on there.
What? Well, shit, I, I copped it. I'm reading the lyrics. I, I copped it at midnight, so I mean— and I pressed play at midnight, which is around the time I was supposed to be fucking. But it was like Penthouse Pages.
You know, the lyrics are Penthouse Pages. Oh shit, this is soft porn. No, that's hard. That's hard porn, actually. What?
Yeah. Nah, she, she mastered the art of, of just song making and, and visualism, because I listen to the records and it's hard for me to get a visual just from listening to the records. I got visuals. She got video to this? Nah, I make my own.
She gonna get a video. It's all up here, baby. Oh man. Yo. Don't just leave me sitting here right on the edge, baby, put it down.
Come on. Down, down, down, baby. Say no, this pussy got the grip. Oh my, oh my, you're running away and it's coming alive.
That is absolutely phenomenal. The fuck amazing. The things you do with your mouth. Amazing. This is absolutely phenomenal.
This is so phenomenal. This could be a Silk record. Yeah, word. Like, you know what I mean? Big Flip, Queen Flip in the building.
What up, Dan? Huh? Yes, yes, we do. Yeah, how you find that out? That's fast.
He's been here for a minute. He been hiding. Yeah, he was in the car. Oh, he was in the car. I got devices in here, nigga.
Watch your mouth. Yeah, go sit down. What up, y'all? Big Flip. I like that merch you got on.
Yeah, it's nice. Looking good, looking good. Pod of the Month hoodie. What is the back? What is W?
What is that? Where would I be without the JVP, nigga? Hey, make some noise for that. Make some noise for that. Homeless.
Can we answer? Oh, shit. All right, we in the building. Gang, gang, gang. Uh-oh, squad, squad here now.
Uh-oh, squad here now. Yeah, what's up? What's up? What's up? Niggas talking about niggas behind they back.
Y'all gonna learn. Don't talk about my mental health day I tried to take, nigga. Then I realized in the moment, yo, you being a bitch. Get up, nigga. See, see, he on our side.
Yeah, I realized that in the moment. I texted you. You did it right. You did it right, Flea. Yeah, you did right.
Like, it's okay to take a mental health day. Nah. 'Cause I was on the phone with Ian when it came in. So I wanted to hit you immediately. You should have.
And say, what a bitch. Now, you know what it is? I didn't want to— But you can't do that if somebody really need a mental health checkup. You know what it is, though? I didn't want to keep continuing the disruptive behavior.
So what I do is I go home, I think about something, then I plan it. So I'll listen to him, I'll listen to you over the weekend, and I'm saying, all right, I gotta address these niggas. Heard Mark address it, I gotta address them. So I planned that in my head. I'm going to address them 'cause I don't like it, but it's disruptive.
Disruptive. So I said, let me take a day to cool off my mind. And then— but then I'm like, you being a bitch. Go in there and just be a part of the team. And fire him.
Even though there's a me in team, but just move that. There is no me in team. I ain't like how they tried you when I wasn't here. I ain't like that shit. I ain't like that shit.
All that teaming up together. I'm down with my nigga. I don't give a fuck what y'all talking about. Y'all niggas be trying to be all extra friendly with each other. I'm down with Flip.
Fuck y'all niggas. Yeah, I need y'all. I need you. I need all of y'all. I love y'all.
It's just that we got to do that, and the people are starting to see it. I'm glad you— I'm glad you repping though. Yeah, yeah, because before I wore the chain, this was— this was my surprise. This was how I was gonna rep Potter of the Month by the shirt. I got that from Mark of just doing that, but then I put the chain on, you know.
Yeah, now you white wearing on the knee. Oh, hoodie with a chain, huh? Okay, you like Armani? Take that shit to Wet Willys. You going to Miami, ain't you?
Yeah. Oh yeah, what's up? Take that shit to Prime— what, what's that shit they be at out there? Opium. Prime Pasta.
What's the other one? Prime 112. Yeah, I don't see niggas take pictures in Prime 112 no more ever since that Jim Jones Nah, it's over. Do that. I just don't see the pictures.
I don't think it's over. I think it's a good business to be in. Yeah, yeah, but that's what happened though. Once, once somebody feel like this spot ain't hot no more, now the picture don't mean nothing, you know. They still going, it just don't mean nothing to take the picture no more.
Yo, don't get derailed, yo. We got— Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yo, and, uh, to close out our Victoria Monét— Great album. To close that out, to your Beyoncé point, I guess what I'm saying about this is it really says something that you have all of the stars featured and my favorite records are when you're by yourself. Yes.
Yeah, fair. Ain't nobody killed her. That's— and, and nobody— she ain't get killed. Well, you know, she had the gun in this shit. Yeah, she had to go.
See, that's the difference. When you could call all these people in here with their great vocal ability, I got— I'm putting this down. And I'm great vocal— Yeah, A.E., you said after Beyoncé you got Victoria Monét and that's it. Well, I'm not— well, I'm not saying that's it. I'm just saying when you talk about just everything that it takes to be just like a complete artist, I've seen her do that.
Like, she has that. She has the, the style, she has the choreography, she has the music, she has the voice, she has the look. Yeah, like nobody's fucking with her. I don't think no one's fucking with her. Where do you put Money Long?
Not with her. Money Long is a dope writer and she's a dope vocalist, but I don't think she can touch that stage like Victoria can. And rightfully so. She doesn't probably need to do that. She does different music.
Yeah, but Victoria, when we talk about just a— I also think it's unfair because of Money Long's health condition. Yeah, that too. Yeah, yeah. Oh, okay. I just want— But when it comes to writing, her and Money are like— Yeah, yeah.
I'm like, but just the everything, the total package. The complete package. Yo, while we here, while we are here, come on, man. You know I'm in my R&B bag. While we here, man, come on, let's get right to it.
New Sasha Keeble. Yes, sir. This record is called Options. Yo, I'm here for the heads, yo. I'm not here for all that shit they doing at ComplexCon.
Trust me, I never meant no harm. I'm not that messy. Tried to protect your heart. I'm not a monster. All the bad things that you like to write about me.
Just ain't true. You know my reputation always precedes me, huh? 'Cause even though all of my exes paid my debts, they'd take you with them wrong if you were to ask. Here it goes. Got me out here feeling like a monster when our home never existed.
Somehow I Hey! Again, this is brand new Sasha Keeble. This record is called Options. Absolute heat. Shout out to Sasha.
Hey, um, lastly, before we get into this Quavo project, uh, has been forwarded to an automatic voice message system. Lucky Daye dropped heat. Oh, did he? I gotta hear this. Hmm?
I gotta hear this. Mm, that's what I'm here for, Parks. I'm here, I'm here for the music lovers. I'm here for the R&B heads out there. I'm here for the people that's trying to text they boo a little song.
Yo, I'm thinking about you. This made me, this made me think about you, yo. This relates to us. I identify with this.
Babe, I'm telling you, good R&B in the fall, there's nothing like it, man. This record is hard. What? Oh. Women in the R&B space are just making way better bedroom records than niggas, man.
Get your shit off. This is dope. Get your shit off. But these women are— that Sasha Keeble shit you just played in the Victoria shit, when I hear Lucky, I just bought it. Support.
Hey, yeah, all Sasha shit is hard. She ain't really missed you. I ain't heard up without a wax song. Yeah, nothing at all. She don't make whack records.
None of these people make whack records to me. So are you saying that there's no current male R&B star that has a good run or a nice record that's out right now? I think the last— Because I don't want to contribute it to you just pandering to the ladies and your smooth shit. Watch trigger words. We're not doing Panda today.
Okay, I got you. I think the women who go into the studio with the intentions of making bedroom records make it 10 times better than the male artists today. I think the last bedroom record that a male artist made that can kind of like shut all this shit up was Leon Thomas, uh, Yes It Is. In fairness, I want to hear that from a woman more than a man. True, I get you, but I would like to have some balance of something.
Like, niggas need to come repping. Like, who's putting the women in the mood? All the R&B niggas outside in spots fucking everything. So, you know, they don't have time to do it. They don't— they're not in love anymore.
That should be even more reason why. That should be more reason. Yeah, you right. You right. Um, come on, let's talk about this Quavo, which I'm not gonna play from the laptop.
You don't have to play it at all if you don't want to. I, I may have— I have to play it to kind of prove the points of what my— what I'm trying to say about the project. Uh, but I want to hear you, because you have to feel like you and Ice about to have a— yeah, a knockdown drag-out about this one. I don't think so. Why do you think that?
What do you think about the album? I haven't heard nobody's opinion. Oh, I don't like it. I didn't hear it at all. I think this is Yeah, it's the worst Pharrell-produced project and Common's whatever that was that they did together exists.
And so that's a harsh bar. That's a hard bar. I'm with him. Yeah. Oh yeah, we're on different sides.
I heard— I talked to you Saturday. I know how excited you— I was excited to hear it. Yes. Um, I wasn't let down. I felt like, I felt like, um, this was kind of like a refresh for Quavo.
It was a little different sound, but he was still allowed to be him. And I like taking a step out on a different bop, different sound. I don't— I wasn't mad at this project. There's a couple songs on here that I hate, let me be clear. I'm not saying this shit was amazing and oh my God, I'm renting it.
Which ones do you love? Uh, let me pull the tracklist up. Uh, Backwards is track 1 with T.I. I think we all do. We all like that.
Absolutely love that one. Uh, the Future record, I'm not all— I'm not all the way mad at it. Yeah, it's cool. Yeah, that's just It's cool. It's cool.
I hate everything else all the way up until— oh, I gotta call her. Uh, maybe house music is doable. See, I don't like house music depending on where I am. Yeah, I don't like house music. I liked— and Ball My— no, not Ball.
I don't even know. I hate this album. Yeah, I didn't like it. I like the way— I like Baby Breath. I did not like Walk It Down.
But I wasn't mad at this album. I didn't listen to the album. How many tracks was on this? 14. Uh, it's 38 minutes long.
It's short. It's short. About halfway through it, I was in the gym working out to it the day it came out, and I was like, this feels like a long-ass album, and this shit is a 38-minute album. And then he went and put the, uh, the, um, Help Hotel Lobby record on there and dropped like, uh, extended version. Oh yeah, to capitalize off of the, the train that's going around.
Again, like I was saying, saying. So they snatched that and threw it on the album.
That's track 4. Let me just run through it a little bit. This is Baby Breath with Quavo, A$AP Rocky, Tyler, and— I feel like I should have loved this, but I didn't. And I saw Tyler talking about this was his best verse. It's not.
Of the century. I don't— I think rappers do that. We know that. Ever see me dressed? Oh, you must be breathing meth.
It's $5 million on my neck. Got no ceiling where I rest. Do I hurt your feelings? Yes. There's a month I get a check.
Is that F80 fresh? Like a fucking baby breath. I just wish him the best. And then Baby Keem back. Yeah, I like it.
See, that sound like it should be on ASAP's album. Yeah. Yeah, I can get used to that. That bell was good. Yeah, I like that.
I like the bounce. Yeah, that's what— that's that Baby Keem bounce to me. That's what I hear. I hear on that particular track. I hate it.
I don't know what were y'all expectations. Let me, let me start there. I like this. Oh, I like this song. It's the first joint.
I like this song. Hey, this one was— hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. That's why I didn't like this. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a I mean, I need more of this.
This sounds like what I want to go to Pharrell for. This sounds like old Migos to me, which is kind of what I— if I want that, I'll hear old Migos sometimes. I want a little bit of that. That's why I said, what was y'all expectation? It sound like y'all expecting— If you a top 6, 7 group of all time, ain't nothing wrong with going digging.
Go to that well. Yeah, there's nothing wrong with that. But if it's y'all, I want— this is not y'all. All. That's why— But this is what I was saying to y'all about that, uh, about that Offset record that I played that I loved, that I said I was a little worried about loving the record because it's taken me away from some of the things I love from Offset records, which is a certain flow and a certain cadence and a certain bop.
So cool you trying something new, and I like that record, but what's the direction of the album? This shit right here I, I like, I like my Quavo or Lobby. I like my— you like— I love all that. Yeah, the thing that stood out to me is that I felt like Pharrell should have did a couple of them hooks too, just because it was like— yeah, and there was a couple where Quavo was sounding Pharrell-ish, and it's like, you should have had Pharrell do that just to break up some of the monotony. That's what let me know I wasn't bugging with how I was feeling about the project, because at some point during this recording, if heat was being made Pharrell would have ran in that booth.
Pharrell would have inserted himself on one of these records with an ad-lib or a chorus or something to say, yo, this is gone, gone. Yeah, but he didn't do that. Yeah, so it's— for me, that kind of reaffirmed some of the feelings I was having listening, listening to this project. When do you guys give artists room to change their sound and accept it? All the time.
So, but, because if you're saying that Joe goes back to the bag that I like Quavo in this bag, doesn't that make it redundant? When it's like, okay, I want to hear something new and we going to accept it, they have to come up with a bop automatically in order to accept that transition? I think it's just a difference between liking it and not liking it. Like, I don't think there's nothing wrong with— because I don't think there's nothing wrong with him trying that, and the perfect person to do it with is Pharrell. Except that means looking forward to the album.
I mean, looking forward to— I mean, I'm gonna listen, still listen to it now. It's just too much R&B for me to pay attention to it. But I'ma still listen to it, and I am looking forward to what I want to get from it. But if it don't work, it don't work. This is why I played this, because this is the same shit.
No, it is not. This is not the same as this. That's what I'm talking about. No, it's not. Yes, it is.
No, it is not. It is. No, it is not. It is. No, it is not.
It's a classic record, and y'all love this. Y'all, that's what this is. And this is not— This is not that bop. It's similar. It's not.
It's not.
This is a great beat. It's the same shit. No, it is not. The BPM or whatever might feel the same to you, but sonically it's not the same. It's not the same.
Okay. Very far from. Yeah. Very, very, very far from. I told you y'all was gonna argue about this shit.
I'm not arguing. We're not arguing. We're not arguing. Y'all have very different takes on that. We disagree.
Well, disagree. Well, first of all, right, like what I'm saying is not set in stone. Like I may hear this shit in a month and find something I like from it. Agreed. I couldn't have been more wrong about Take Me Through There.
Hmm. I couldn't have been more wrong about that record. So my word is not like the Holy Grail. Music is subjective. When I listen to this album, I don't hear where it's gonna come on and I'm gonna love it.
I'm a gigantic Pharrell fan and a gigantic fucking Migos fan, and I've listened to this album 4 times trying to love it, and I, I can't. And I think that's the problem. Why? Because you're looking for Migos. No, I'm not.
You just said I'm a gigantic Pharrell, gigantic Migos fan. Well, because we're Migos. I think that's what brings it to that. But I'm saying, if I'm Quavo, I don't want to make something that sounds like a Migos album. Quavo albums don't sound like this.
There's not a Quavo album that sounds like this. Oh, you keep saying Migos, which cool, but go to Quavo. Quavo's last album was dope. This is a different sound. Quavo albums be dope.
Yeah, but y'all gotta go back to what Flip is saying. You want him to keep trying to do something different. Now, it might not work to us, and— but when it don't— but when it doesn't connect, you're gonna get this. Also, I don't think that this is like— expectations too high. It's not like it's a groundbreakingly different album.
It's not like he tried to make a house album and it didn't, you know what I'm saying? Like, I would, I would respect it if he was like trying something completely different. Yeah, yeah. I'd be like, shit, all right, you tried, it didn't really work. This to me felt like just not good.
Good. For me, for me, for me, that's what's up. I mean, I think— I could be wrong. I think— and, and again, you want to try something new, go ahead. That's part of artistry.
I think it's— I think it's really, really, really difficult to listen to beats from high-profile producers. It can be. I think that's one of the toughest things to do in the music industry that is never spoken about. Why? This is deep.
He's right. The pressure that comes with it. No. You feel you gotta pick something? No, because someone like Pharrell, or name any A-list producer, none of them beats is about to be whack, but some are different than others, you know what I'm saying?
The quality level is all 9+ out of 10, but that 10— But you might not even be getting an A folder, you know what I'm saying? Quavo's getting an A folder. Quavo could have whatever. The producers I'm talking about, I don't know You won't be able to tell when you're not getting an A-fold. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
There will be no way to know when— The floor is high. Timbaland is pulling out the reject tracks. The floor is very high. Your ear will have to be perfect. This is to point that out.
One, right, because there's multiple things at play here. Two, I think there's a high— let me say what I'm saying. High-profile producers are hypnotizing. Yeah. Especially if you're in the studio with them.
Especially. In just their presentation. And when you're in the studio. They made this in studio together, the whole album? I don't know.
High— I don't think so. Well, to, to kind of confirm what I'm saying, for me, after I heard the album and after I had this conversation I'm having with y'all with myself, I saw a picture of Quavo and Pharrell on a yacht in Italy. Yeah. And I said, that's the problem. That's the problem.
Get away from each other. No. When I went to go— what do you mean? When I went to go do my second album that never came out, The Grove— shout out to the heads out there— I went to see Timbaland.
If you're going to him, that means you're going to their studio, especially in '05 or whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, with their staff, their employees, their store runners, the best studio here, with their Ferraris outside, with their phone calls that they're taking with fucking Cher and whoever. Michael Bolton. And now, yo, I'm gonna make you something.
Hey, you know what, for you, I'm making something from scratch.
You're trusting their track record. Mm-hmm. Their credit score is high. Yeah, it's the highest. And their floor is very high.
Even if you don't love what's going on, you got one. You kind of feeling like all of this shit has potential because of who it's from. Yes. Not only— and, and not only do you feel like it has potential because of who it's from, you understand the push that it should get from your label, from the radio, from the streamers, from whoever you looking to get your spins from. Pharrell is helping, Timbaland is helping, Dr. Dre is helping, DJ Premier is helping, fucking any of them, any of them that you name.
And Premier is more fucking boom bap, so we could take him out of this. But you know what I'm trying to say. Yes, yes, yes. It's real tough for you to tell that person in that setting where everything is beautiful and everything on the bigs. If you go to a bum nigga house in the hood, shit might sound good on the bigs.
The Biggs. The Biggs is gonna make it sound good. Yeah. Can I, can I ask you a question? Pharrell right now is worldwide.
He's— then there's that. So he's worldwide at this point. His influence is past music. He's now in fashion. So he steps outside and it's just different.
Do you think he walks into the studio and tells Quavo, I need you to get a little bit of that as, as an independent, as your own artist as well? So we're gonna go for a different sound, not to just appease the people over here, but now when we go to Italy, now when we go to these different fashion spots, all the shit that I'm making for here, while they might not connect right now with the American audience, everywhere else is gonna pick this shit up. And come here on this yacht in Italy and see some of this. And I feel like he's someone you do it with. Yeah.
Because Quavo was always propositioned as— Positioned. Oh, positioned, sorry. He was always positioned as the person in the Migos who would be the standout star, right? Yeah. And I think a lot of people still feel like that about him.
I think also maybe what could potentially have happened— he was positioned, he was positioned within the industry until Offset. I think within the relationships, I'm not talking about what's actually happened musically, relationship-wise, people still— he was supposed to be Beyoncé. Yes, yes, yes. So if I'm Pharrell and I'm going in there and I'm going based off of that potential, I'm going off of the fact that I actually like this person, I actually want to see some things happen, and I feel like musically and influence-wise, I can take him to that next level, which is past all the Migos sound that people are acquired. I'm trying to try some shit, and this might connect.
It's a great point. It's a great point, but I don't think it's true in this case because I didn't hear— they— he got fucking Stevie Wonder to say some shit on the Clipse album, you know what I'm saying? Like, when he wants to get in his— I'm gonna push this even further back. It looks and feels different. But Stevie Wonder doing that with the Clipse connects more.
Yes, I understand. And I feel like— It's different. I'm gonna assume that Pharrell makes Clipse projects with more love. Yeah, it's different. It's my home team, yo.
And that's kind of what I've— now that we're talking about it, it feels like it may have happened. It feels like maybe Quavo went to Paris or wherever the fuck they was at and did a bunch of songs. Maybe 5 or 6. Heard the sound. And then the sound ended up being like, I guess this is the direction we're going.
Yeah. And it doesn't feel like— Clips even talked about it up here, like they went back a million times and fixed shit. It doesn't feel like they did that here. That's what I'm saying about these high-profile producers. Like, to Parx's point, the scheduling even.
Yeah. You gotta come here. This is what we gotta do. You gotta come here. We gotta do it on my time.
You got these 2 weeks with me. Fashion Week. Whatever you get in these 2 weeks is what you got, and you'll never see me again. Again, not you'll never see me, but y'all know what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, that, that time, I'm done.
I'm out of here now. This is the album. It's tough, yo. Who better to take that risk with than Pharrell though? Like, I hear y'all and I, I, I agree.
Maybe Sonny, it might not— it might, and it might still hit, and it might still hit. It might get him to where he needs to get in that realm, maybe, and, and at least give him that leverage of, yo, I connected with Pharrell. Pharrell EP'd my shit. A lot of people— I think it helps his profile regardless. Period.
I just don't think the music is necessarily— like, I could see you— it sounds like what y'all trying to say, maybe this appeals to a European crowd or something like that, and I don't know if I get that. No, I'm not— I'm not saying— I'm not even saying that. I'm not saying it's directed solely for that, but I do think when you go into a studio with a Pharrell who is now working from a different landscape— It helps regardless. It's like, listen, we, we gonna go in here, we're gonna experiment, we're gonna take chances, we're gonna take risks, we're gonna do some things things maybe you haven't done before, and then we're gonna go from there. Let's see what happens.
It didn't feel like they took risks to me at all, but— Same. Okay. Yeah, same. I gotta just wanna sit here and play Quavo records and fucking old, old me. Let me play my— let me play one of my old shit.
Cop my old albums. I will say, I did see that there's an Offset feature on there. I do like the idea of introducing the idea of, yo, we're gonna get back to some Migos shit in the future. Oh, which is happening. Yeah, soon.
Yo, we getting the prize piece, but I want to hear this now.
Yo, this is one of my favorite records to come out that decade.
Huh? You ain't get that cold? Yeah, I see you in my Serato, nigga.
Yo, I'm getting the prize picks. I absolutely love all the Chris Brown baby mamas forming like Voltron to step to the one that was acting up. Yo, I love that. Love it. That shit is fun.
Love it. You don't see that. Make some noise, man. Make some noise. Hell yes.
Ice-skinned niggas win again. Them baby mamas. Formed like Voltron and said, ah, ah, ah, we're not doing that. He goes above and beyond for all. You are not about to fuck this up for the rest of us.
It's going good too. We are overly taken care of. She'll come around. What are you doing? She'll come around.
She'll come around. How many baby moms you got? 3? 4? 4.
4. If you have 4, there's gonna be one that's a little nutty. It's gonna take time. If you have 3, there's gonna be one that's a little nutty. Hey, hey, young, young, young OGs out there, I'm telling you, Tupac kids, if don't nobody else kids, be careful.
Strap that little shit up. If you have 3 of them, one, be mindful, you going to have to live with for the rest of your life. She going to be the one that stay in touch. She, she going to be the one. It's going to be tough.
It's going to be tough. That's all I'm saying. That's all I'm saying. They going to fix— they, they going to get it together. Yeah, you still roll with you.
You don't That shit is still fire though. I don't know. That shit is dope. They jumped right out. That shit is fire.
Like, you don't, you don't see women coming to the defense of men like that. There's still some hurt there. Once the hurt is over, trust me, they gonna come around. They'll all bond. I, I got faith in that.
I got— all this look nasty now, but I got faith they gonna, they gonna turn it around. Cossign that. Strap it up. Nah, my— Strap it up. My son getting busy in that basement.
It's gonna get expensive. Send the video. I told y'all. Last year the price of an abortion for celebrities. You did say that.
I said he really got off with a little discount too. It was 2 of them little fuckers in there. Perfect. Yeah, yeah, well, it was 2 sacks, we don't know. But what?
You're right. Hey, yeah, some of us— it was 2 for 1. Some of us from the old school, bro, like you talking about discount too? She took $50,000. You lost the 2K gig.
All right, you lost your 2K gig. But what are you about to say? I don't know if 2K is gonna like— oh shit, wherever you going. Thank you very much. I never want to let 2K know niggas is from the old school.
I was about to say that, right, Mark? That was good. The only new school shit. I was about to say that he got off on a good deal, like you said. There we go.
There we go. That's my brother. I don't want to see— I mean, that was good because he paid, he paid $150,000. He ended up paying nothing. Why you don't do the NDAs?
Who? Why you ain't slide a little NDA? Listen, yo, come on. When there's a lot of pressure, some of them catch you in the moment. E, thank you.
Ish, can you, can you, can you expound? Can you expound? No, yet. His lawyers and his management ain't new here, fam. Do you think he got involved in that?
Consulted with them? Do you think they got involved in that? He got that phone call and was like, all right, here. Hey yo, tell your management all of— tell them everything going on so they can protect you. Yeah, the snipers is getting you at vulnerable moments, nigga.
No, they don't get you. Listen, but you streaming around all these niggas and they hit you up, nigga, you try to— that's it. Yo, you know how to— you know how the left hook is coming? Once you get hit by that bitch a couple times, then you like— you know what I'm saying? Like, that's it.
He gonna learn. Yo, dog, yo, he gonna learn. Come on, let's have a real adult. Yeah, man. Dude, it's a dude cast.
Yo, the Piranhas I know, are there. I know they smell it all over this little wealthy nigga. She look good too. They got him. She look all right.
She said, she said the condom pop and we kept going. You know what this— you know that, girl. That's— you leave a little room. Yeah. Oh, you pulled it off with your— she pulled it off with them.
They got that little nigga. You don't know about that boy. He don't have the discipline. They got that now. A little— you got caught.
A little wet pussy. A little, a little bit. Hit him with that. Oh, we don't even need it. I just want to feel you.
There's snipers out there. They're on Consonance's ass. But hold on, but— and there's more of them coming out. I think, yo, I think— hey, yo, dog, that nigga is prime real estate. No, no, no, let me take it a step further.
I think all of you streamer niggas is sweet money. Yeah, I concur. Yeah, hey, Complex Con has confirmed it for me. Yeah, yeah, all you streamer niggas, I'm telling you, the little bag my tadpole came in back in the day will fucking strip y'all of y'all's money. Y'all lucky Corinne ain't 21.
Corinne? Correct. Listen, it's a— no, she might still get a little 21. Yo, you young niggas is so sweet, the old hoes is back in the game. They like, you know what, 22 ain't the youngest.
Nigga, the old hoes is out there with the sniper, with, with the scope. They looking for these niggas because you grew up hearing about them, looking at them. You grew up with my picture on your wall. She ain't let Phoenix in about fucking— she cook now, nigga. She cook.
She don't even go— you know what, never mind, man. Never mind. Amber Rose with a wig, you look nuts. Amber Rose with hair, it's a dub. Of course you don't.
Amber Rose with hair. Stop it, Joe. The girls that you streaming, I'm watching, I'm seeing it. Yo, yo, yo, dog, how do I say it? She don't look bad.
She looks good, Joe. She look like— Stop, yo. Yo, are you crazy? Hey, right, don't do that. We support— don't say that, yo.
Yeah, well, I— so you want to talk about it. Yeah, after, after prospects. Oh, there we go. That's next. Amber with a wig.
Yo, come on. She look good. I don't know, she didn't. She look good. And it's some good streamers.
Dream Doll, she streams, she looks amazing. She just started streaming. So we don't put her in that category. All you hoes at ComplexCon look bad, yo. That ain't— Stop.
It wasn't no— you just said that because of the fights and all that shit. That's why it was fights. Yeah, it wasn't no heat. It wasn't no heat. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
That's not true. That's not true. You know I'm right. No, you can't say it. I promise.
Because you embarrassed how you gonna look. No, you down with me. I totally think you're wrong. The Yana girl looked nice. Yeah, it was heat in there.
It was a nice looking one. You just— the fight shit just made it look nasty. It looked good. The fighting and all that shit is just like, ah, but it's not Sincerely, you wrong. Okay, okay.
Maybe on my algorithm. You're going back to your young, young hater bag a little bit. Good. A little bit. Good.
It was too much harmony when I was off. It was too much. Actually, it wasn't. It wasn't. Actually, it wasn't.
Anyway, now it's time for my favorite part of the show, Prize Picks. Yo, I'm doing an ad right now. Please don't interrupt like you did to Parks when he tried to do it when I wasn't here. Yo, I gotta say, you almost lost me millions of dollars. That font is little as hell.
I might be getting old too, but it's not an easy read. Lost you how much? You almost lost me millions of dollars. Lost you how many? For real.
All right, let me hit this ad. All right, football is heating up and everyone's pulling up because prize PrizePicks has all your picks in one place. PrizePicks is available nationwide. So what are you waiting for? Everyone and everything is on PrizePicks.
PrizePicks is really easy and simple to play. All you have to do is select 2 or more players, look at their projected stat lines, and pick more or less for your chance to win big. Shout out to everybody's fantasy football team that's 1-3 out there. I don't know if I won a game yet. Game yet.
Getting my ass kicked back here. Bijan keep trying to win me, win me something, but it's just not, it's just not working. I got smoked in our league. Tanner put up over 200. I might be done.
He left 100 on the bench and had 200 points. I'm over fantasy football in general, I think. Yeah, I'm ready for— that's what I was like. My fantasy football teams are so bad, I'm justifying it by saying I'm so busy with life, I ain't even got time. My heart's not in the game.
I ain't got time keep up with it this year. Uh, listen, if you have some money to lose, Ish is gonna give you a ticket. Here we go. Dalton Kincaid for more than 44 receiving yards. He been going off.
Yeah, yeah, I'm not mad at that. Drake London for more than 78 yards. Okay, receiving. Yeah, okay, receiving yards. Uh, Bijan for more than 25 receiving yards.
Yeah, whatever he wants. Yeah, he can do whatever he wants. Kenny Gainwell for more than 9.5 receiving yards. And CeeDee Lamb for more than 6 receptions. I wish I'd have known that Jerry Jones was trying to teach George Pickens a lesson.
You know what I mean? I wish I'd have known that at my draft. I wish I'd have known that. It is 100. It's gotta be.
You can't— yo, dog, he's dropping— yo, dog, your quarterback start losing faith in you, they stop going to you. I've seen him throw CeeDee the ball 95 times. Why you see him do that? I didn't even look at George Pickens. Why you see him do that?
'Cause they won't look at George Pickens 'cause they're trying to teach him a lesson because he's in a renegotiate year or whatever year he's in. No, 'cause he was dropping bombs that made us lose 2 games. Y'all bum-ass Giants. And now we'll watch— Y'all lost to a better team. Y'all lost to the number 1 team in the division, 3-1.
That's what happened. Stop me when I say something wrong. You lost to the best team in the division currently. I ain't say a word. Sip your little tea then.
I didn't say nothing. Sip your little tea. I love when the bums be doing good. The bums, the bum. We just— you know what I mean?
Uh, what am I saying right now? Oh, download the app right this very second and please use promo code code JBP to get $150 instantly when you win your very first $5 lineup, only on PrizePicks. Run your game. There we go. Shut up, nigga.
You almost lost me a million. You ain't saying it like you used to. You ain't saying it like you used to. Don't join on this, nigga. Don't join with nobody.
You know how I feel about that joining shit. I'm on your team. Yeah, I'm on your Your side in this. Run your game. That's how you used to say it.
Don't say— you saying it like some old— I'm gonna get back in my bag. Rich nigga. Run your game. I'm gonna get back in my bag. You got the money, you just rushing right through it, right?
Yeah, run your game, run your game, man. Yeah, he rushing through it. Just run your game. All right, where y'all want to go? Anywhere y'all want to go.
Can I say something? You can say whatever you want. Yo, my wife text me on my way here. You know, I was trying to take a mental health day, y'all. Give me a second.
Get your chain right, bro. And I ain't put it on, I'm gonna fix it. My wife texted me and said, I had a dream. So I'm like, all right, what's your dream about? Oh man, I had a dream that you left me.
Oh, I said— I did, I swear. I said, left you where? Where were we? I'm not playing. Yeah, I'm not playing that game.
Where were we? Where did I leave you? Um, and she was just saying that we were somewhere, somebody else came, and I just left her standing there. And then like she started to text. Like, I put my phone on do not disturb.
Hey, I'm not playing that. Listen, a lot of times my wife had dreams before and they matched up. I mean, she dreamt some shit and I'm like, mm-hmm. That's where it gets tricky. That's where you was at?
Yo, I had a dream that you was at somewhere with spirits and there were wine in your hand. Oh, I was at that wine and spirits yesterday. Like, shit like that. I'm just saying, that happened before. That be the question.
And you can't never ask them while they heating up. Like, as they deliver more facts from the dream, you'll be sitting there like, this bitch has a gift. No, you right. This bitch is telling me. Yeah, you gotta stifle that gift too.
They're lying. She got The Shining, man. They lying to you, nigga. Yeah, right. To what?
To get— They hiding it behind the dream. Yes. Thank you. Thank you, Ice-O. That's the way you can ask it without looking like I'm— No.
It's gotta be location. That's it. Right, you go through somebody's phone, you find something, you be like, I had a dream about a waitress. Listen. Them screens be on point, yo.
Right. Like, how you know where she live? Right. You got her address? I never even been to her house.
How you got her address? How you know what we ordered that day? Shit. Vivid dreams. Yeah.
You might have to go home and do some work now. I'm in trouble. Put some work. I mean, she know I'm about to go to my year. Just go home.
Yeah. He said just go home. Yeah. I mean, I'm not paying— I don't want no problems with him. You got a lot online about your shit.
You got a lot online about it. I don't want to get into it. I respect— I respect— yeah, I don't play that. I'm not gonna play that game with y'all. Mark gets a pass for that.
You got a lot. You good. Yeah. I'm saying that, you know, I wanna go home, I wanna sit down, I wanna talk to my wife. Yeah.
I wanna see what's up, what she's thinking. I mean— Ooh, dangerous. Dangerous. No, but since we've been good, like, a lot of positive things has been happening for me since I've been just getting along and— Coming home. You know, being home, not coming home.
When's the last time you took out? Uh, the last time I took out was— I forgot. There you go. It's been a while. Date night, man.
Date night. You went out for Emmy? Anniversary? One of the two. She was in Trinidad.
Oh yeah, that's right, that's right. But I do want to take out— I do want to take out— You about to go to Miami and film, so before you go, you should take out— yo, listen, I got you. I think I should bring her with you. I would love to. I would love to bring her.
I love my— when my wife is around, she doesn't bother me. Yo, Linky be in her own world, yo. She don't bother me. You can't say that like that. She doesn't bother me.
Meaning that she doesn't interfere with what I'm doing. Like, she understands. I talk to Linky about everything. Like, she's aware of everything, and if she doesn't like something, she said, I didn't like that you said that, or why did you say this, or— and now she checks me, and I try to get an attitude to get out of it, but it don't work because she'll ask again. I love your wife.
Appreciate that. When she popped up on, on your stream, yeah, like, I really enjoyed that. You ever just look at somebody in a party and be like, yo, they're perfect for each other? Like, yeah, this person needs That's how I feel. I couldn't be able to do it without her though, Joe.
I couldn't be able to do what I do without her. Oh, I'll be alone. I'll be alone. And that's really all you niggas' worst fear. Yeah, I don't wanna be alone.
Not you, I ain't talking about you. No, but listen, when we get into— Dumb. When we get into— no, for real, when we get into situations, sometimes there's been a time where I thought that, what would I do if I was alone? But I don't think I'd be— like, it's a lot of things that she— You'll be miserable going home. I'll be miserable.
And there's a lot of things that she does that I can't see me doing as a single man. You ever see a man's queen and be like, you love her so, she's so solid, you gotta put on to some of the shit that's going on? Yes. No. See?
See what I told y'all? What the fuck is wrong with you? What I told y'all? You ever see your man's girl holding it down? It be niggas like that though.
Yo, she's so great. Hey, man, I know. I gotta give her a little hint. And now y'all know why you don't leave your girl around Joe. The real one.
I told you, nigga. Niggas, people really talk to your girl about this? Your girl? Look what they'll go to before they say, yo, just don't cheat. Oh no, niggas don't cheat.
Oh, then add that. It's not to add. All right, say that. I'm speaking past shit. Say that.
I'm speaking past shit. But niggas wouldn't do that to you if you did that. You can't cheat no more. You can hold your— I'mma be accountable. You did cheat, niggas wouldn't do that.
Nobody would do that. I wasn't telling y'all about it. No, when niggas knew you was cheating. No, I wasn't coming to y'all with my cheating business. And wait a minute, my Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Made a mistake, made a mistake. There you go. Made a mistake, made a mistake. Clean it up. Speaking to non-engaged people about past discretions.
Once you get engaged, you guys on that couch, your record clear. You washed white as snow. Yeah, your record clear. You know each other. All that shit you did, all that shit y'all was doing about, oh, fuck the battery.
Like, once you get engaged— But your record cleared a bunch of times and you didn't— you just— It's just so behind. I'm behind you, man. It's just so I don't even hear that shot, like whistled by me. Okay. Um, you better be planning a wedding, yo, now.
I am planning a wedding, actually. Good. Actually, I did have something I wanted to ask y'all about before we get into the topics. Shoot. Look, because y'all know I'm slow.
Oh shit. So I'm asking my brothers. She keeps scrolling and finding stuff that you need for babies. Uh-huh. This morning's— this morning's back and forth was a changing table.
Yes, Joe. Yeah. It lights up. Okay. It tell you to baby wait.
Mm. It got music that it plays. You sit it on top of a dresser. It has a little LED light. It looked like some shit from The Jetsons, some flash.
That's that rich shit. That's the rich shit. That's a table. You got a kitchen counter right there. But that— but Corey, no, no, no, no.
But wait. The top drawer. Top drawer. But that's what I said. But, but, but that's what I said though.
I said, to keep it, to keep it real with you, I've never had a changing table. I've never got that. I had one. I always put the blanket on the bed, put the blanket in the bassinet. You wrap it in here, you get it all together.
I had one. Yeah, I used it. But it ain't do all of that. That's kind of the ultimate to not get a changing table. I had an ironing board.
It frees that, it frees that I don't want— why do you need a changing table? I had one. Tell me why you wouldn't want one. We use it. Well, she kind of enlightened me to how dope it could be.
I'm open to it. Listen, I'm in the house just saying, yes, ma'am. Let me ask you a question. If your child has to be changed in whatever room, you walk to the room where the changing table is, or do you change them right there on the spot? So I had 2 changing pads too, like the portable joints and the, uh, what are they called?
I forget that company, but like the round round 8, figure 8 kind of joints. And I kept that in a couple rooms, and then we had one in the bedroom. Um, and it's just to keep like, like the bacteria and the dirt away from the bed and all of that. Like, that's what she said. Yeah, that's the reason to do it.
Like, it's— I'd love to put a black light on some of these beds. Yeah, none of us got sick. None of us got bacterial infections before Chainsaw Man. Anyway, I'll get it. Get it.
I'm getting it. You ate the collard greens with your dirty fingers.
His fingernails look nuts from here, yo. I realize what it is. Mark, you said it's from your pants. You keep changing what it is. I thought it was the lint in your pants.
I thought it was too, but then I realized I scratched my head and it's— I trimmed my hair today. That's worse. That mean that your hair and scalp is dirty too. No, it means I just got a haircut right before I came in here. Oh, that's the old hair.
Literally, literally right as I'm like 10 minutes before I got here. I'm telling you, baby. You decenter yourself. I'm saying bacteria touching the baby will be harmful to the baby, not the baby being harmful to you. Oh, okay.
You spent money on last show. Fuck it. Why— get the chair. I ain't using— I'm just saying yes to shit. Even if you don't use it, that's the wisest thing.
Yeah, I just— yeah, baby, all that shit. Just everything. Get it. You going to use it a little bit. What type of stroller?
What type of stroller, Shawty, want? Shit from Bentley? Hashi Tashi? You already know. You trying to start an argument.
I saw one of them, that J5 shit. That shit— I saw one of them in the book, dog. That shit— what? This shit open up. It cost more than my car.
Yo, listen to me. And I'm not exaggerating. Remember the one that was showed off? That's what I'm talking about. I saw it.
Listen to me. I'm telling y'all as a dude that love y'all, don't come to my baby shower. Don't, please. The shit that she gonna end up putting on that registry— bring a card. Bring a card?
Can we come together, my good friends? Like, let her people— what you said, come together, come together. We gonna need to, we gonna need to. That's literally— that's what was suggested, like, yo, come together, get Joe this. So we like, all right.
They was like, yo, y'all should get him the stroller. We like, all right, cool, stroller, cool. They show us the stroller. What? The stroller was $25 grand.
Wait, whose stroller was $25 grand? The grand they wanted to— wait, who? I don't want no $25,000 stroller. But it's Chrome Hearts. Hey, do me a favor.
Get the fuck out of here. Hey, Mark, am I lying? He's not lying. Is that not how that went? Yep, that's exactly how it went.
And then he said— I started doing the math. We was like, no. Yeah. And then it was like, all right, don't do the Chrome Hearts one. Check this one out.
This one's Lamborghini. Hey, check this out. Get this, get this out my face. Right. No, the Lamborghini shit is fly.
I'm about to go get a bitch. I did see the Lamborghini. The Lamborghini shit is fly. The Lamborghini, uh, stroller with the thingamajiggy that pops off and it pops back on. Oh, I'm sure that's fly.
One is what, $7,000? No, I'm not paying $7,000 for— Yo, Joe, if I pay $7,000 for, for, for a stroller, I'm having babies for the rest of my life. Oh yeah, we're gonna use this shit. Nigga, the kid gonna use it when he grow up. You still in the stroller.
I don't give a fuck if you 8, nigga. Get your ass in the stroller. Like the white people do. Yes. Feet dragging and shit.
White people leave them kids in there till they 11. That's a fact. Hey, get your money's worth. Dirty ass feet. Yeah, get your money's worth.
And they be pulling the shoulder like this with their foot. Little man get mad and stop like he got his own brakes. They got the nerve to be racist. Like, yo, take a look at yourself, dog. Crazy.
Uh, come on, what else we gotta talk about? Uh, I wanted to ask you guys real quick— Bringing the topics? Yeah, I do that sometimes. He's a pro. Yeah, I respect it.
Imani has been killing it. She need— Nick, that's what I'm saying. No, In executive meeting, we talked about this. He been killing for a while. Um, I got you.
I wanted to ask, 'cause we did talk about, uh, the Jasmine Guy thing. I know A Different World being popular right now, and, and she's, you know, made her statements about, you know, how she's been addressed about her looks and things like that. And there was a really big response online, but then D.L. Hughley went on a publication and had spoke about it and gave his opinion on it. I don't know if we need to get a clip or anything, but he pretty much just said He said, while it's mean that people are saying this, is it untrue?
And, you know, just the I view of everything, it's kind of like no one's really saying anything untrue. I thought it was a little off-putting to hear him say it. I wondered what you thought about it. I think it's weird to say that and then say the other thing. Yeah.
It's mean to do it. Okay, if we accept that that's true, that's mean to do it. Say, but is it true? Then we're doing it. Right.
1,000%. Like, I don't— you know what I'm saying? I don't think we need to have those conversations, at least not in public. I think every single person in here, if we're honest, sees people, whether we at the club, the restaurant, the house, the family reunion, and we'd be like, what the fuck happened to Auntie or Uncle So-and-so, right? We all— we have those conversations amongst each other quietly.
But I think to create a public spectacle around people, I think, is nasty. It's mean. It's evil. Coming from DL Hughley. Yo, dog, I don't know about that.
What, what's the purpose? You know about what part? See, my thing is, what's the purpose? Like, what's your intent? So let's say for whatever, anybody, we could take Jasmine Guy out of it.
She could— she just— if you see somebody that once used to look like X and now they look like Y, right? Cool. What is the purpose of saying it publicly other than to ridicule the person? Wait, let me be clear. I, I agree with everything y'all was saying.
You get what I'm saying? I told, I told totally agree. Okay. What is the point of saying it publicly? And even if you assume you— even if you assume that you know what's going on with somebody, you still don't.
You still don't. Like, to say this person smoked cigarettes their whole life, that might not be all that's going on with somebody. To say this person drank their whole life, you, you don't know. People was cracking on Chad. Yep.
Come to find out he kept his sickness from the world, but everybody was saying all of these mean and negative things about him. You don't know what's going on behind closed doors in somebody's life. So my whole thing is, what's your intent into doing that? So in, in this particular instance, it's only negative intent. And that's where I disagree.
I did the interview. Hold on, hold on. In, in the case of Jasmine Guy in A Different World, I do understand why it was being asked publicly. I understand how that became a public conversation. Tell me why.
You saw A Different World, right? Yes. Did you saw it too? Everybody here saw it? Yes.
The old one or the new one? I haven't watched the new one. You said the old one. I watched the old one. Oh, the new one.
Yes, yes. Yeah, I've seen it. I watched from season 1 all the way to now. Yes. That's how it became a conversation.
It was 30-something years ago. What was the— no, I'm talking about the new one. I'm saying the original A Different World was 30-some-odd years ago. So this woman has aged over a 35-year span, maybe more. So dog, life be lifin' for everybody.
Fam, I know we supposed to be politically correct here, especially with this very sensitive conversation. However, people looked at the show and had private conversations that turned public. Jasmine Guy, to a lot of people, didn't look like she was in her peer group. That's what the conversation was. It It wasn't— people were looking at Jasmine Guy and saying, she looks much older than what she is.
Okay. It wasn't just her face. Mm-hmm. But Joe, this is— It was her arm. People grew concerned.
I'm not talking about the people that took this chance to say very mean things. That's not who I'm talking about. But to say, oh, how— why is this a public conversation when you put out a show that is from our childhood that was a hit, and the new show got the nerve to be good too. It too. Yeah, it's gonna be a conversation when we looking at her next to Khadeem Harnison and she looks a lot older than him.
I totally understand how that was a conversation. Only on the internet that we act like, oh, where did this come from? Why are people talking about— I don't, I don't see that. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. They were attacking her.
When you're D.L. Hughley, you've been in this business. I'm not caping for the people that were attacking her, but I'm not talking about attacking. I'm talking why that conversation was being had publicly. I'm not talking about the attacks.
We know why it's happening. I don't. I still don't. And I'm not trying to be PC. I'm saying this, everybody ages in their specific way.
Like, everybody, everybody up here is a different age group. All of us have aged differently, dog. So my thing is, you can't really have that conversation without it having some negative connotation in it. Yo, dog, everybody ages in their own way. Their own way.
So I think at 30, 40, maybe a 20-year-old could feel like that. We all in our 40s, 50 years old. We've seen niggas around this age. I got niggas that I went to high school with that look 70. I got niggas that I went to high school with that look 40.
Everybody does what they do. Again, some people's life be different. Some niggas got shitty diets. Some niggas be alcoholics. Some niggas smoke weed every day.
Some niggas do other drugs that are even more, uh, uh, corrosive. I'm just saying, you know what, I don't think it's out of bounds for you to notice that. But you know why, you know why, you know why we say the conversation now? Becomes mean. You know why we say it's a negative part?
Because if she was beautiful and looked like, I guess, how they expected her to look, there'd be no conversation at all. It's only because it's not held to the standard they thought she was gonna look like at this age that now people wanna talk about it. Again, I'm not with the mean-spirited stuff, but I'm also not gonna sit here and pretend like I have no idea where this conversation came from. I think we're getting away from the point. I think we all get where it came from.
I think I see what you're saying. I get where it came from. I don't wanna feign like I have no idea why this is happening. Oh no. I don't think that's it.
It's the way it's happening, bro. And I don't think there's a way in this society, in real, in practical terms, to have a conversation about how someone looks that doesn't invite meanness. Yes. Even if that's not your intention. Sure.
You know what I mean? That's the hard part. True. There's just no way to do that. And that's the part that— And I feel like if she didn't respond the way she responded, I think that that added on more, uh, for you to feel bad.
Like, that added on to it, the way she responded, how humble she was. Like, yo, you know, life is life. And basically that's what she said. And, you know, I gotta get ridiculed for me just getting older. But the point is— That's what she said.
That's fine. That made it— that made me feel more bad by reading that response. It wasn't ignorance. She's a nice lady, minding her business. And, and again, the talking point when it comes to the reboot— or not the reboot, because it's not— it comes to the continuation of the world.
Yeah, shouldn't be Jasmine Guy and Houchie. Look, they really did a great job with the show. Yes, I heard. I'm saying that as somebody that had no— that had no plans on watching it. They actually clowned me for watching it.
Yeah, yeah, I clowned you because you're like my man Ellington. No, I'm like, um, the star football player. No, no, no, let me— let me have my dreams.
They picked the song, the lyrics. It was on par with the job that Insecure did when it comes to just music appropriate for the scene from some of our up-and-coming Black artists, some of our popping Black artists. They smoked how they did the music. They smoked all the little nuggets that they put in there that went back to the past. Uh, the moms beefing, the fucking— Ron and Halle Berry having a baby.
The foot rub. Uh, Ron and his, uh, contentious relationship. Like, they, they— it was just— they really did a really good job. They did it. And as the show continues, as the show went on, I'm like, well, Different World— you know, I didn't go to college.
I didn't give a fuck about Different World. I didn't know what they was doing. HBCU, Atlanta, who knows what the fuck they doing? But it didn't matter because there were stars on the lineup. So cool that y'all was doing some college HBCU shit.
Shit. There were stars there that helped you transcend that. This cast, I think there were some stars in there. I think there are future stars. Yeah, yeah, for sure.
I do. I think the homeboy, the football player, did a wonderful job. He's already been in a Tyler Perry movie. Tyler Perry spotted him early. But see, I was about to say, yo, they caught Tyler Perry out with his boo thing too.
He was out with friends and his boo thing. He said he was gonna stop. He said— All I said was they caught him out with his boo thing. That's the problem with you niggas out in public with y'all little camera phones. Super rich-ass nigga walking up to the yacht with his little young boy that he gonna fold up tonight to that new Kalani.
And here y'all come. And now, oh please, you don't know that I took that same stroll with the opposite sex. That's his friend, not a yacht.
Um, Uptown? What the fake say? La Marina. Yo, but did y'all see him? He had his arm around YoungBoy.
He had his arm around him, did he? He had his arm around— that's where this joke comes from. I thought he just had— I thought it was like a friendly, like, yeah, I mean, no, he was walking and had his arm around the young joint, and then when the little fan reporter came, he kicked that nigga on the yacht. Smacked him on that. Yo, Tyler Perry, yo, you knew that dude, yo, and Ish said he'll do your movie.
You did. We asked you, you said you'd do it. What's your point? Nothing. Nothing.
Oh, what's yours? But to your— yo, regarding your Different World— and that ass is clean. Oh, and that tongue is long.
We going to have a good time. Hey, you going to be in all the movies, boy. It's a different— 20 movie, 20 movie deal for you. DC.
Yo, that's crazy.
That's funny, son. That's funny. Yo, but look, to your point, everything you said I agree with about the show. This is even more reason why niggas was being mean, because with this great show that we kind of were iffy about, you still can't focus on how great the fucking show is. You focusing on how madly this woman hates— fuck all that.
Period. D.L. Hughley, you have— you should have more coof as an elder statesman. I'm not even talking about him. But the whole conversation starts from him even doubling down on the shit.
He doubling down on the shit. You saying what you saying, yo, it's mean, but is it— why would you need to do that? You don't gotta do that. Why? You, never mind the mean people, the people that we don't know.
You saying just keep it to yourself if you feel that way. Yes, yes. Keep that shit to yourself. Coof. Like Nana used to take the wooden spoon and smack you on your mouth when you said shit.
That you'd have to say. She took the dabbling, nigga. Either or. And, you know, for all this Jasmine Guy talk— 'cause I took it somewhere positive, y'all went back to the negative, uh— and for all of this Jasmine Guy talk, right, when you get past whatever your problem with her appearance may be, she was, she was 1,000% Whitley. Mm-hmm.
Yes. She was Whitley. Mm-hmm. Like, if you just keep watching it, you'll get past that, because this part can't be played by nobody else. Nobody else in the world.
There was one moment I didn't like. Didn't like, to your point, is when she, uh, finally got around Dawn-Lewis, Julissa, and she made a comment about her aging too much and how she looked. I was like, they must have— that's one of the times where you got, as a script, as a director, somebody, you got to pull that line out because you're almost inviting more, more shit, you know? Because it might have been a joke. And they probably didn't know it was gonna be this.
No, I don't know. See, that's the thing. Jasmine Guy is getting some of the punishment that Whitley should get. Yes. Like, Whitley's always been a bitch.
And that's my point. That's how— that was what Whitley would say. But that's how good she was in the role. Whitley is going to talk about how you look. Sarcastic as hell.
It was perfect for Whitley. But anyway, listen, A Different World was great. A Different World was, was great. I, I got— I've got through it in one night. Yeah, I loved it.
And yo, shout out to the quick 30-minute watch. Yeah, I'm not mad at a 30-minute watch. Great Uh, yeah, great job with A Different World. Uh, I was embarrassed, man, watching A Different World. Like you said, all the throwbacks to the old shit.
Yeah, my fucking girl explaining them to me as well. You should— oh right, you didn't get— like, relax, release all that shit. I wish I went back to watching it. I'm, I'm midway through season 1 now. I'm watching, but it's fucked up.
That's terrible. It's fucked up that she's explaining them to me. Season 1 was the bad season. Well, I'm just— I'm watching the whole week. It wasn't that bad except Felicia Lisa Bonet.
And always— and Marisa Tomei. Lisa Bonet will always be— I watched her accept the TV Choice Awards last night for season 1 just because— I wish you had told me it was on. Just go to YouTube. I'm about to TiVo it. What I— nigga.
Yeah, her. Her. Her. The her-est. Yeah, like whatever Wilt Chamberlain was in Hershey, PA that night.
That's, that's Lisa Bonet. It still is. This room won't skip a chance to be horny. Certain ones you can't skip. Yeah, sorry.
I'm sorry. You're so disappointed, yo, that you missed out on some of these things as a kid. We always do. Yeah, we missed a lot. I missed a lot, bro.
What do you want me to do? He didn't see Different World. He didn't need Mobb Deep. It's fine. We love him.
That's our guy. He's going to call the police.
Yo, Mark, stop playing around, man. You're viral currently. Oh yeah, you, you, you are currently viral for, for what I thought was some really touching and heartfelt content. I told you that. I told you that when I saw you over the weekend.
Yeah, I love that piece. I, I, I love you and your life's pieces around relationships just 'cause y'all are more mature than me and mine when we talk about 'em. Like, I love 'em. So to see you go viral for something I didn't anticipate, uh, I'll open the floor to you. Oh, I mean, it's, uh, Flip saw it 'cause Flip came in.
No, I'm not— I don't wanna— Yeah, we ain't joking right now. No, no, no, I was saying it's hard to intro your own shit. That's what I was saying. But, but it was weird. So we did an episode of In This Thing Together which is on Patreon, uh, and we were talking about the Jasmine Guy situation, and we were— my wife simply responded to the— can we play it?
Yeah, we can play it. Yeah, we could definitely— I realized that actually— of course, of course we can. Anything is going to drive traffic to your Patreon. Oh, here we go. When aging is a gift, like, we are Black people in America, right?
Like, we're not supposed to live long. They're trying to kill you. They're trying to kill you and you survive. It is a gift. And your own people laugh at you.
Right, our laugh line. And again, I'm saying this as somebody who has hated the way that I've aged. I've hated it. You know what I'm saying? Like, it gets me sad because it also felt like it was overnight.
It felt like it was overnight. I had a baby and literally it was overnight. All the shit that I went through with Malcolm to have him, you know, all of it is a gift, right? The fact to be here, the fact that he's here and what I had to do. But it felt like I gave my beauty for it, which is really hard.
It's hard for me to process that sometimes because you're so beautiful to me and I genuinely don't see the difference. Yeah. But I also hear you and it's hard to know what to do with that. Right. You know?
What do you do?
Somehow you've become like the target in this, which is super fucking weird to me. And my wife. My wife has become a target in it too. So it was weird. So Instagram responses were like amazing.
How could she be a target? I don't see how either of you could be a target. They brought up other clips, other old situations. That became like phase 2 of it. But phase 1 was this.
It was like, okay, Instagram responses were wonderful. When I saw you this weekend, it was like, it was still a very good phase. Instagram was all love, right? Yeah, I'm like, Yo, this was such a powerful piece. You don't hear people share this side.
This is like— this is some of the greatest honesty you're ever gonna hear. I was taken— I was taken away. And I was proud of my wife for her honesty, 'cause that's a hard thing to say out loud. Word. Um, and I have to talk to her, and I didn't know what the fuck to do.
I did the best I could. I think you handled it great. Yeah, I was about to say, you did great. I hear you. I don't know how— like, yeah.
What can you say? Shitting on you. Then Sunday comes. So what happened? It got some— it got to Twitter.
Yeah, Twitter is cesspool. And Twitter's a different world. And it got to the, the, the manosphere world, all that stuff. Then it became, um, of course, I'm, I'm basically saying I'm weak. Cuck.
I'm a cuck. Thank you, Imani. Uh, oh, you've been reading them, huh? Imani been reading them. His fans have been going crazy.
How and why are you a cuck for that? So first of all, they're saying she's, uh, which they said what she's really saying is she wants young niggas to, to, uh, to praise her. She's, you know, how Mark feels about her is the only thing that should matter. How your man feels about you is the only thing that matters. If you, if you don't feel beautiful or you don't feel attractive, if your husband's not enough, then that means you're trying to get, you know— Have these people ever had a woman in their life?
No. No. No. Mark? No.
And that's honestly the answer. And, and it, a lot of the time You know, and they have these real weird ideas of how we're supposed to respond. Or she just wants people to tell her she's beautiful. And the whole point was, my wife wasn't saying that I don't think she's beautiful, or that the world doesn't respond to her in whatever way the world does. She was saying how she feels about herself.
Yeah. And this is something I've watched, you know, up close. This is about how people feel. And a million women are like, yeah, I felt this way after having my baby. I felt this way as I got older.
I felt this way, dot, dot, dot. And it's not entirely gendered, but most of the people responding to us the other way were dudes that were being like, how dare you blame your baby for it? It's like, no one's blaming the baby. Yeah, yeah. There was, there was also the clip where she— well, you guys joked about like her preference of what she might have like been attracted to, right?
I thought it was— because when I watched it, I'd watch 2 people who are married and in love having humor and having back and forth and having a conversation between each other, like real life shit, like just real— I thought that that would have been received in that way, and it was internally— They can't relate to it. Oh, she settled. They can't relate. For something less than what— it's just like— Because it was used as evidence to support the first piece of it. To support it, yeah.
Not the context in which it was produced, which actually started up here when I went to the Secret Muslim event. Right. And I said Mahershala Ali was gonna be there. And then, remember, and so it became like, and we were like joking, I was like, oh, my wife has crushes, I got crushes. Hers was like Idris and Mahershala Ali.
And then after the Anthony Joshua fight, Every woman in the world was watching this fight a certain way. That was the whole bit. And I was like, yeah, my wife was watching that fight too. And I was like, you know, it's funny, all your crushes, none of them look like me. We were having fun.
Yeah, that's true. You know what I mean? Exactly. But then it became, oh well, she don't— She don't really want to. She settled.
She doesn't find him attractive. She settled for him. And then they start piecing together other parts of this show. So then it became, and she don't answer his texts at 2 in the morning, and she dates her exes, and all this shit that's completely not true. True, but it gets, it gets, it gets virality.
And when you have people who are committed to misunderstanding you or committed to misrepresenting you, it gets bigger and bigger and bigger. And, you know, it's exhausting sometimes. I'm sure. I don't know why people expect you— it feels like people expect you to have, uh, a very docile, very like quiet, very meek, very like not confident woman because of who they look at you to be. For me, it's like, yo, I see, I see your wife as a strong woman who's now willing to be open about you guys' relationship, and I think that should be applauded.
A lot of men would want to like shelter their woman and not give them a voice and not let them be heard because they want to be in control, right? And I think a lot of people who are responding, they're responding because that's the type of men that they are. They're virgins. They want their virgins, or they're niggas that like to control women and like for them to just shut the fuck up and sit in the corner. And they can't.
That's a big part of it, is they think relationships look like domination. So even in their comments, it's like, oh, he, you know, his wife refused to take his name, which would suggest that I tried to give it to her and she didn't want it, as opposed to neither of us wanted that for each other. His kid's name is hyphenated. Yeah, because that's how— That's what y'all wanted to fucking do. Right.
She didn't do it. I didn't convince her. That's what we wanted. That's how our relationship works, and it's healthy. And I've never been happier.
And even though we joke about me living in a content house and me living single and stuff like that, it's like these dickheads sometimes really think that that's life. And it's like, it's not real life. Like, touch grass, go outside, get a woman. See, there's a part— go ahead. We can't have it both ways up here.
There's a part up here where the show, we love and praise narratives, create narratives, let narratives run, etc., etc. They're gonna do the same thing. They're gonna create narratives, they're gonna run with narratives, and that's just par for the course. We can't— yeah, narrative, narrative, narrative, but oh wait, it's one I don't like. Yeah, I'm all for narratives, you know what I mean?
But that's a narrative. We can shoot them shit down. I'm not saying people are wrong to make narratives. I'm just— exactly, I'm just shooting this one down. Oh, okay.
Yeah, yeah, I'm just saying— No, I'm pushing back on that. I'm pushing back on that.
There's a part, there's a part of us as a podcaster where, and I tell you all the time, narrative is part of the game. Deal with it. Go tuck your emotions in the closet somewhere. I would never tell y'all that about somebody in your household or your partner or your wife, right? Like, there's a part where the narratives affect somebody that it's not meant to affect, right?
Huh? I know what he's saying. Wait, wait. I don't. I know what— no, I know what he's saying.
Explain it to me. It's weird coming from him though. Explain it to me. No, but he's 100%, but go ahead. But now's not the time for whatever y'all are trying to do.
But even if you said if it affects your significant other, it's up to you, it still doesn't make it right that it affects them. You still have a fear. We up here doing a job, and if it affects your significant other or mine, it's still our job as as the partner to reassure them that this is just a show. It happens, but they didn't sign up for it, but it's part of the gig. That don't sound like what he said.
That's what Ice is saying. It's up to you at home to make sure it's all right and reconfirm them— reconfirm to them like, oh, nah, everything is all right. It's a show. I'm here for you. I understand how you feel, how this make you feel, but this is just a show.
A part of that though, I agree with you though. No, I get what you're saying, Free, but what I'm saying is that I understand what he's saying when he's saying that when it comes— But what if that's not enough? What if the reaffirming that you're doing is not enough? Because only you can say but so much to your lady. Let's just say your lady now has suggestions on how to reaffirm you.
All of our significant others here are aware that we're doing a show. And a lot of things that we say up here, sometimes we say it in jest, and sometimes the joke goes too far. But it's our job to go home and let them know that these fellas up here love us, they don't mean anything by it, and this is just a show. And anything that's offended you, we will come up here and we will talk amongst each other and we will try to iron it out. I think we all agree on that.
Yeah, yeah. And again, I wanna jump in here. I heard this. Okay. The conversation for me is not really about what the internet is saying.
I got it. It's not really about the mean things people are saying. The conversation I wanted to have with, with Mark was, what do you do now? Right. Yeah.
Yeah. What do you do when you hear— After hearing that. When you hear your partner say that, and now you're aware as the guy that lives with this person who feels— like, what do you do? I wish I had a great answer. This wasn't my first time hearing it, so I didn't have to jump to attention in that way.
I had to kind of keep going. I mean, part of it is affirming— there's a balancing act between affirming what somebody feels and also letting them know that the world doesn't necessarily see it that way. You know, the problem sometimes though is hearing it from you, it's almost like, yeah, but you're my husband. Yeah, you're expected to say that. Yeah, you're telling me even if you didn't feel that way, I would never know.
You see what I'm saying? So, it don't really— That's why it's like, I'm saying let her know the world doesn't see it that way, not just me. Because I think you're right. If I just say, well, I think you're beautiful, she's like, yeah, well, you're my husband, you're supposed to, like you said, right? You know, it's like, I had this issue with daughters.
Girls go through periods like that, and you have to reassure them. Like, yeah, you're my dad. Of course you think I'm beautiful. And it's like, no, baby. The world does too.
And you have to reaffirm that. So part of it is— and sometimes it's playful. Whenever my wife and I do a picture or a photo, there's a whole bunch of, with all due respect, dot, dot, dots. Mm-hmm. Sometimes I let her— Let her see a couple of them, you know, because I don't let her read all the comments.
Me and Freeze don't play that. But when, when I get after, like, you know, you said she, she said she don't like that. And she don't. Yeah. So sometimes I'll be like, I know you don't read the comments because of that, but I just want you to know, like, the world's not responding to you.
Yeah, the world's not. They're still like, how the fuck did you do that? You know what I mean? And so I kind of— Which is probably the biggest compliment you can get too, if the world is saying it. Make no mistake, we're on the world.
I'm world. Oh man, I know this, I know this is definitely— this is not a moment for you to even have to consider yourself. That's good. It's not a moment for you to even try to have a selfishness about it, but is, is there a little bit in hearing that make you feel bad? For you?
Yeah, I mean, not feel bad for me, no. I've been doing this long enough to have the thicker skin, and I have perspective on the people who are saying these things. Oh, no, no, I'm saying when you hear her say that about herself, do you kind of like internalize it a little bit? To feel bad? Well, because as the husband, as the husband— That's a good question, that's a good question.
You want to feel like you're doing everything to reassure your wife and make her feel beautiful, and you might start to feel like you're not doing your job. But like we just said, as the husband, it's expected of you. It's the helplessness of it, right? Yeah. Because I can't do— You can't do but so much.
It'd be almost easier. I'm a fixer. Yo, you got your car keys? Mm-hmm. Go get those.
Go down to the trunk. Go down to the trunk. Get that Clorox bottle. Half a bottle. Half a bottle.
Because that, that'd be part of it, right? It's like, if it were a thing that could just be be fixed. We can't. Anybody who knows me knows I would do everything I could. I'd run through a wall to fix it.
Right. That's the thing. You, you can't. And there's nothing unique about her situation. This is just part of living in a world where you get assessed by how you look and, and whether people want to have fuck with you or not, etc., etc., etc.
And that's for people who don't live and work in the public eye in general. That's just walking through the world as a woman. That's your value. That's the value the world assigns to you. And as much as you know you have other value in other things, it's hard to go through life being looked at one way and then over time starting to feel or think that you're not being looked at that way, even though you are.
Right, right. But because you're not looking at yourself that way. Exactly. And this society hates age. We hate age.
I'm sorry. This is such a serious talk. I agree with anything you say. This talk is so serious, I'm listening to it and saying, yo, ugly bitches got it hard. Imagine what they go— we just had a conversation.
No, no, no, listen to this shit. Imagine the, the listener who is really ugly. They just are feeling their whole life and it ain't new. They know it, bro. Yo.
Their whole life. That's what I'm saying. Oh man, we can't say it.
Y'all in for it. That's fucked up. Y'all gotta look at beautiful people say, oh shit, they ain't looking at me like that no more. Yo, ugly people got it bad, bro. That's like the broke motherfucker hearing the millionaire say, yo, I lost it all.
You're like, nigga, no, that's tough. I do, I do, I do want I do wanna shout out your wife though, man. It took a lot of coverage to go up there and do that. Shout out to Mel, man. It took a lot of coverage to go up there and do that.
And, you know, um, we here for her and we support. We appreciate that. And shout out to y'all. Hope it don't push her away from, you know what I'm saying? Please don't, don't allow the comments to push her away.
We love to hear that story. There's a lot of people that feel that way. A lot of women that feel that times has changed or the world don't look at them the same. There's a lot of things that come with that. How you handled it was great.
That's why I don't want to crack a joke, because it's some shit that I hear. And in the group, you the ugly one. Certain things. Yo. Is that what you think?
Yo, Iman, we gonna get to that. He ain't gonna be here for Patreon Friday. We'll get to it. Yeah, but— What group? Huh?
What group? Him and his wife. Oh. Duh. What group you thought he was talking about?
I didn't know. That's why I asked. I thought you meant up here. That's why I was incredulous. You coming to your man rescue again?
Who's my man? I'm just asking. Are you— am I trying to start this fight? Everybody. Are you coming to his rescue?
Whose rescue? We talking about this group. We talking about this group. What's your response to that? I was asking Imani.
But we talking about this group now. I asked Imani what group he was talking about because I wasn't sure. And if you talk about me coming to Mark's rescue, he don't need no rescue from me. Move on. I'm sorry.
Come on, y'all did it already. Yeah, we had a shoot the other day that I won't talk about. What type of shoot? Because I've been hearing y'all talk about that shit. I've been hearing y'all fake announce it like, yo, I'm gonna see you this weekend, all that corny shit.
This is like some streaming shit. Take your phone out and look up what it means when somebody say they won't talk about it. Google it. I'm saying whatever shoot we did, I'm not at liberty to speak about it. So that means that you involved with?
What, what is it, JBN shit? No. Yeah, yeah, got it. So we doing— so we doing the shoot, or we got the shoot to do, but mind you, I'm dealing with pregnant lady stuff too. Oh my Lord.
So she like, oh, give me a hand, feel this, feel this. I'm like, I felt it. Like, see you soon. Like you said, I felt it, I felt it, I felt it mad times. She's like, oh my She's kicking my ribs.
I'm like, yeah, you're pregnant. But anyway, so she ain't really been moving around. We just kind of just been in the house and in the bed. So we got this shoot and she get up. Oh, she gonna kill me for telling this story, but I got a job to do, the Podfather.
So she get up and she getting ready for the shoot and she look in the mirror and she say, oh shit, hell no. I said, what, baby? She said, hell no, nah, can't shoot like this. I gotta make an appointment. We gotta drive, we gotta drive around the corner, we gotta drive before the shoot.
I gotta take a drive. You gotta stop right there because— I said, what, baby?
She said, Joseph, I know you see this little mustache I got. I said— You're gonna get your ass whooped. Yeah, ass whooping is coming your way. Joe not here Friday, y'all know why. Or he comes with a black eye, sunglasses.
Not only do I see it, not only do I see it, my love, I thought it was hidden on like some '70s shit. I thought you— I thought you was trying to prank me. Joe, you think this is smart? Yo, you think that's wise? You think this is wise to do, my nigga?
Not wise. She gonna fuck me. I thought you was fucking— I thought you was changing the game. Oh shit. Oh shit.
All right. Oh, Isaiah, duh, we've been in the bed for 9 months. What did you think was— All right, fine. Okay. All right.
I'm praying for you, my brother. Yeah, yeah, thoughts and prayers, baby. I love you, baby. Nah, that shit don't— That ain't gonna work. That ain't gonna work.
That ain't gonna work. I think it's cute when they get the little, you know, that little— they get it. Nah, I don't know what you talking about. I have no idea what you talking about. I got a joke for that.
It's your case. There'll be no co-defendants in this shit, my nigga. This nigga crazy as shit, bro. No, they do that? What the fuck you talking about?
I don't know how they get that loose joint, but what the fuck you talking about? They be the 3 little kids, right? Some of them got the goatee coming in. Not my baby, but— oh God. Damn, that happened?
That's crazy. Yeah, I've never seen something like that. I ain't even know. I learned something new today. Oh, I'm good.
See, I gotta ask my lady now. That's fucked up. Baby, I love you too. She already texted you? This nigga is crazy.
Yeah, you're crazy. Uh, what's our next topic? Chris Rock. Yo, I hate this nigga today. Hey, Chris Rock told Savannah James to hold this beer.
Oh. Yeah. Hold my beer. You think you did something not paying for your bestie's first class flight? Got you.
Look out, look out, girl. 19 years. All right, so I'm gonna play this clip. They killing Chris Rock. Uh, I would have never shared this.
Yes, you would have. No, no, I wouldn't have. No, I wouldn't have. No, I wouldn't have. Absolutely never.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I'd have never shared it. I'm just playing, cuz you share everything. That's it. Hey man, I'm Black.
What does, what does that mean? When you're Black, Black, white people believe every accusation is a conviction. Uh, I grew up 619 Decatur Street between Howard and Saratoga. If you— Brooklyn, I'm pausing this. I'm telling y'all that when somebody starts with, I'm Black and I grew up, and they say an address that has Decatur Street in it, Mhm.
Yeah, you know what time it is already. You know what's about to come after that. Yeah, you know what's coming. Go on your phone and punch up Roger Logan. Oh, I never did that.
That's the other part. Oh, he gave it to him to Google. First and last name, nigga. What? Exonerated a guy named Roger Logan who I grew up with and who was very, uh, he was one of my best friends' brothers, went to jail for 19 years for a murder he didn't commit.
And here's a weird thing. Yeah. His brother used to plead with me to pay for a lawyer for Roger, and I never did it. I always had like a no lawyer thing because a lawyer is like an open-ended thing. Like, I'll pay your mortgage, I'll put whatever, I'll— there's a bunch of shit I've paid Paid for education, all sorts of shit.
I always stay out of lawyers because it's so open-ended. And I'm— it still fucks with me. I was like, I had the means to help him and I didn't. No job at all. I don't know if he got him out or not, but still.
So all that to say is, I'm Black. Black men get accused of shit they didn't do all the time. Every day in the paper, we let black men out of jail. We go, whoops, whoo, that black guy just did 30 years, too bad. So I don't know, to answer your question, when there's a convict, you know, like all this rumor shit, you know, I'm not— Hey, hopefully I don't get accused of anything, but you know what I mean?
Like I'm handling it from a real place, you know. This shit's real when people get accused of things, and you better be real sure they did it. Yeah. Am I making sense? No, no, no.
This is wild coming off of a cancel culture— cancel culture. It was contextual. So we only got an excerpt of about why he said what he said, but he was talking about like how people get accused of certain shit. This culture. Yeah, and so it was like, yo, but for him to bring up the story about Roger Logan, he could have just brought up the story to make his point.
Like, yo, dog, I know somebody that got accused of some shit, they did 20 years in jail, and they were completely innocent and they got exonerated. The second that you say, yo, I'm rich and I had the ability This is one of my best friend's brothers that was— I might have known since he was a kid, and I chose deliberately not to help him. You go in the piece of shit bag ASAP. Nobody cares about anything else that you're saying at that point. You just put yourself over there in the fuckboy bag.
Yeah, uh, listening to him say this, you know, before I played the clip, I was like, you know, I would have never shared this. But after I played it, I would've never been in that boat. I think he has something. I would've never been in that boat. If that's my best friend's— Brother.
Brother, I'm gonna give you the money for the lawyer to see. I'm gonna give you the money so that the attorney could see whether you did it or not. Put a cap on it. The attorney will come let me know how this case is looking and whether he got a shot or whatever. Yeah, I'm gonna get him started.
I disagreed with him on that whole— And open-ended. That's a different issue. That's a crock of shit. Oh, that's a cop-out. Just call it whatever you want.
Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Get them started. Get them started. It's better than doing nothing.
Or like you said, find out if there's something worth fighting for here. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like, have someone investigate to— is this a winnable case? And you saying the whole name now almost feels like— That was nasty.
But to me, it feels like you're doing it today to kind of exonerate yourself or get rid of some of the guilt that you have. Other than that, there is no reason to bring light and attention to this person who just did 19 years for something he didn't do. No, no, no. He could have brought light to that specific situation to prove that people get convicted— I mean, get accused of shit all the time when they didn't do anything. You can't bring light to nothing.
You ain't gotta say his name. You the last person that could bring light to something. True. If you're in that circumstance, I'm saying again, contextually, he's saying, yo, I don't really really be believing some of this shit. Because look, here's my man that I know.
I know the story is true. This is not hearsay. He got convicted of some shit. He did 19 years in jail and it wasn't true. So I take some of these accusations with a, with a grain of salt.
That's my other problem. Accountability. That's my other problem with him saying, I'm Black, and going on that whole white people sometimes an accusation means you did it. And then don't say I'm Black because that's the approach But no, but that would be better if he said— look, he didn't take that approach. If he said, look, he didn't take that approach.
If he said, I'm Black, so these things happen. If he had said, I don't believe him. That is the exact fucking approach he took. He didn't say— no, he didn't, Joe. He said, I got a policy that I don't do lawyer fees because it's open-ended.
All right, so I hear what he said. I'm not talking about what he said. I'm talking about superstar Chris Rock, or headed to superstar Chris Rock, Saturday Night Live stand-up comedian. Up Chris Rock and, yeah, my best friend's man got a murder. Brother.
Brother. I mean, I mean, my brother— my best friend's brother got a murder. He don't have to say it. I know what that looked like. I know what that looks like.
I know what that looks like to him when the public finds out that you fronted the money. We see it all the time, so you don't have to say it. I know what the fuck that looked like and what he did. No, but so I think— His ongoing policy. There's, there's a question of, did you think he was guilty?
Right. And still didn't pay? Or did you think he was innocent and just was like, fuck it, I'm not spending that much money on it, it's not my problem? I would have felt better if he had said— and it would have helped his argument— I thought he did it. Yeah, I thought he did it.
To tell you the truth, I thought he did it. I thought he did it. And that's why I didn't pay the money. I wouldn't have been that mad at him. He can't say that now.
Yes, he can. Yes, he can. He can't. Because he's making the case that we get it wrong. He can say, even I got it wrong.
That would have lent you— Hold on, Jimmy, I think you sound less like a piece of shit of shit saying, I didn't believe my best friend's brother, then to say, I did believe him, and said, fuck it, and left him there because I don't pay lawyers. But you started this with, yo, I'm Black. So if you started with, yo, I'm Black, and I didn't believe it, and he ends up being exonerated, you still look like a piece of shit. But sometimes he does. Don't you look worse saying, I didn't think he did it, and I paid the money?
He should have just kept— he should have kept the financial piece to his fucking self. He should have kept like, yo, my man Rob his brother got locked up, he did 19 years, he was innocent, so I take some of these accusations lightly. He should've ended it with that. I'm gonna tell you why you can't do that. Let's say that's, uh, your brother.
Mm-hmm. And I do the interview. Mm-hmm. And I say, you know, Ish's brother was locked up for 19 years, and he ain't do it, the system is fucked up, and you know I didn't give you the money? You gonna come right after me.
You be on my head about that shit. Cool. You see what I'm saying? So either don't say his name— Everybody don't play internet games. I'm talking about real life.
In real life, a nigga might have said, yo, fuck you, dog, you brought that story up and you ain't help my brother. Yes, that's what I'm saying. But he can still like that regardless. I think the point that he could have lended to is, because he's speaking to the prejudice that people have against Black men, he could even speak to sometimes how even Black men themselves have that same prejudice. And this is an example of how— If he would have framed it like that, that would have been— that's the way to frame it.
He framed it like he didn't address innocence or guilt. He was just like, I don't pay no bills. And I would have appreciated that standpoint more than you just saying— it would have opened up a bigger conversation. Yes, I'm not disagreeing, because sometimes we have more prejudice against each other than we like to admit to. That's true.
So that could have been a way to go about it. Y'all think he lying? I don't know. Yeah, I don't know him enough. At least part of it.
There's something missing from the story. That's what I'm saying. I think he shouldn't have shared it. There's something missing. I don't know what it is.
There's no fucking story. He was talking about getting people— comedians getting canceled, I believe, was the context. Maybe I'm wrong. And he could have stayed there, you're saying? He could have stayed.
He was talking about people getting accused of shit, and do we take these accusations heavily? And he's saying, yo, I'm Black, dog. Like, we look at that shit like— and he's not lying. You do too, though, Chris. Could be.
And that's maybe a part of the truth that could be. That's what you don't— that's what you're trying to say. That's what you're saying. You can't say I'm Black and these white people do this, and then in the next breath explain how you did exactly what the white folks do. Yeah, because you Black, you should have fronted him.
He's worse. Because you Black, you should have— hey, if you don't know this nigga, that's your best friend's brother. You riding with your best friend, benefit of the doubt for a second until you see. Because you Black, you supposed to have a different understanding of how some of these charges can come about, how the system takes place, how we get pulled over versus how they get pulled over, how we get arrested. You're supposed to have a little bit of that.
So to lead with I'm Black and, and, and go there, yeah, I just thought this— he dropped the ball on this whole thing. Yeah, he dropped the ball. It was superficial though. He did, bro. I hate when Black people— Black comedians do it a lot, but I hate when Black comedians, Black actors, and Black rappers put on a white voice when they talk to white people.
I can tell who Chris Rock is being interviewed by, by, by, by, by the voicemail. I hate that shit. He do it a lot. Yo. He does it a lot.
And it's gotten worse over the years. That shit just, just gets my goat. No, no extra charge for that comment, but yeah, I hate that shit, man. And I think I find it more annoying to use that voice while giving that answer. Yeah.
Like, come on, boss. I heard you niggas on the phone before, man. Not me. Y'all code-switching when them bill collectors start calling. Yeah.
That happens, yo. Yeah, I'm afraid of the bill collector. It happens. Like, I, I— do you, do you code switch? No.
Like, is there a place where you say cooth? I don't even talk right. I don't know how to code switch. Okay, fair. Nah, you was on that Step and Repeat looking a little code-switchy.
Yeah, you said adult. You know, you, you in front of them cameras, it did look like a little bit of— Right, right. Yo, don't, don't watch me, yo. I'm like, you look like you was— I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't like when you You watch me. I love watching you.
I don't like it. I don't like it because you take it and you take it. You lucky you move in the shadows, boy. Make a face of ice again. Make a face of ice again.
You better keep moving like Darkwing Duck, you bitch ass nigga. That's all he want to catch you. That's all he want. He can't wait to catch you. He can't wait to catch you.
He do it right. He do it right. You doing it right. You do too. You doing it right.
I don't. I don't. But you need that illusion. You, I'll fucking snipe your fucking head off your You know what happens? Look at Ice again.
I'm talking, I'm talking to Imani. Now back to you, Imani. He lucky. He know not to let me see him, boy. Illusion.
Yeah. I know these people. Me too. The difference in you and I is— I know these people. I know.
Let me tell you the difference in you and I. I'm talking to E. You not even in my beef. All right. But you keep jumping in when you look at Freeze. I think I could look at Ice. Don't look at Freeze again, nigga.
Seriously, 'cause I'll end your whole career. Where can he look? Your reign on the top be short Black leprechaun. Where can you look? Just look up.
Not at Freeze. Now back to what you were saying, man. I love looking at you, and you better not let me look at you. I swear I know JoJo's waiting for it. He's waiting for it.
You think he the only car on I-80?
I know you know I ain't the only car. That's how you know I ain't the only one, huh? That's how you know I ain't the only one. How? Because you're on that I-82.
That's what you said. Oh no, I'm not on no 80 he on. Oh yeah, if he on the 80, I probably been there. You leaving? Come on, I said we not doing that today.
Back to you. All right, I, I, I, I'll say my beef with you, I, uh, it's not even a beef, it's just that you just be starting shit, yo. That's your bitch, nigga. Nah, don't do that. See, stop saying that.
That's nasty, yo. You don't know— you don't think that the things that you do is nasty? Uh, nasty? No. Yes.
I think Mark's nails are nasty. Yeah, the shit you do is disgusting. That's disgusting. Yeah, that's disgusting. This— you do nasty shit.
I don't think so. Smack the shit out of both of y'all. Let me ask you a question. These dirty asses. Let me ask you a question.
Let's just say what you saying is true, right? Let's just say what you— what you say that you witness is true. I shouldn't have said it. When you say it in places— Oh no, that's a— oh, if you— if that's your point, you right. I shouldn't say the stuff I be saying.
But you still do Yes. Gotcha. And gonna continue to do it. Yes. Gotcha.
You know what's the funny part about y'all? You know what's the funny part about y'all? My I-80 analogy— I'm sorry, you guys. You know what the funny part about your I-80 analogy is? We could see you on I-80 and we'll turn our headlights off so act like we didn't see you.
Well, I'm not on I-80. That's why I keep telling y'all. You ain't hear me though. But we can't— No, no, no, no, no, no. Yo, your new life is a— I'm trying to get you— I'm trying to get you to turn, turn a new leaf.
I'm not on I-80. I'm trying to get you to see the light and see Jesus. Yo, you see how you deflect? My point to you was, we can see you on— we can see you on I-80, we'll turn our headlights off. You could think you've seen us on I-80 or heard that you heard us on I-80, and you'll bring it to the world.
Well, that's the thing about the human experience. No, no 2 people are alike. I know, right? So I mean, you can do that, and that's peace. Cool.
How I do— I never want to lose the ability to see y'all and talk about what I saw, or exaggerate, or exaggerate, or make up some— just completely make up some shit. On God. Facts. On God. Facts.
As long as we leave it open-ended, and y'all will always remain safe because the people will never know when I'm blurring the lies with the truth, right? Anyway, man, what else? Can Money ask what he did at the cons other than— Listen, I had a great time. I had a great time seeing you out there. Um, I went outside.
First off, I want to give a big, big, big, big, uh, uh, respect to, uh, Imani and Coach Akan. They threw a lovely event. It's my first time going. Shout out to them. Um, were you invited out there or you just went like as a— No, no, I was invited.
Um, and then my co-host Sayo— I'm sorry, my bad.
Lie, bro, cuz you lied. That was crazy. You lied. That was crazy. But, uh, um, no, my, uh, my co-host Siles, she was— salutes to her— she was working an event as well, so I got a chance to go and kick it, uh, over there.
But no, no lie, it was a beautiful event, beautiful Black event. What is that called? I've never been. What is it exactly? This is my first year.
It's literally a bunch of activations. There's a panel, there's, uh, food trucks, um, just people exchanging ideas, creatives coming out. And like a South by Southwest kind Tribe Hop? Yeah, yeah, okay, to some degree. But, but it was, it was just dope.
I mean, I need to go. I mean, I just need to go. You go to events that's a blend of Black culture mixed with something else. This was Black culture at its finest. All Black creators, all Black people on there talking, giving their experiences.
You just connecting with different people. Um, I didn't know what to expect when I got there, so I thought it was just gonna be some just walk around, whatever bullshit. But it was amazing, and I can't wait for— that's fine. I think next year is their 10th, uh, 10-year anniversary. I can't wait for that.
Dope. Maybe we do a JVP something up there, maybe. I mean, you know, if this nigga ever come around to it. But man, you could do it without him. I mean, like we did, he kind of let me know what that's about.
He kind of let me know that, you know, niggas be calling for shit, but unless he's a part of it, they ain't really trying to come cop. That is not what I said. That, that— but that's what you implied. That is not— Maybe I'm exaggerating. Maybe I'm learning a lot.
Let me— so I brought it up like, yo, when some of this stuff comes up, I'll be knowing that they calling, and if Joe ain't really gonna be there, they'd be like, all right, whatever. I've heard. Cool. We don't really want that nigga and that nigga. But I do think there's a world in certain events where people wouldn't mind having a Flip, Ice, and Ish on a panel, or Mark and Imani and Punk.
I think it's very possible, and I think it helps the brand, even if you, you know— I think I got it under control, man. What we at that?
I'm good off that. I thought I would have saw you there at Coachella. Mm-mm. That line. I thought I would have saw you outside.
Yeah, yeah, I was— yeah, shout out to Rico. Rico was telling me about Coachella, but yeah. What was it exactly? It was, uh, Brooklyn Navy Yard. Oh, shit.
NYC. Oh, yeah, nah. You like— you had fun though, man. You like— you look amazing, man. Shout out to you.
It was great. It was great. Not available. And you know, we, we go support all these other cons and all these other things. Now we're gonna be at D-Con.
And D-Cons and the con— Get that nigga con! There's nothing wrong with going ahead and supporting something. Support your own. Based off of us. Accept your own.
Did you learn anything from there? Did you meet new people? Did you make connections? I made— I'm okay. So listen, we made the joke before about the DC shit, and we went to DC and a lot of people were stopping.
I swear to you, every single person in there, uh, had something that I spoke to. Nice. And I spoke to a lot of people who had great shit to say about this, uh, this platform. It's beautiful. Like, they really fuck with us.
They love this shit. They are fans, they are viewers. They just love what we do up here. And I was glad to get that energy from them. I loved it.
Were you able to give— you documented it? You know what, I'm on my business. But I'm glad you received that energy. Thank you. Thank you.
And they, they love all y'all. They really love you, Flip. A lot of people mentioned you. Thank you, bro. You know what I mean?
I love them too. Smooth. I see what you did. Yeah. Uh, and I think that's a good segue way to get into this DaVinci shit.
Yes, yes, let's do it. All right, so DaVinci went on Cam Newton. DaVinci, his homeboy from, uh, BMF. BMF. He went on Cam Newton, and who cares about the question?
We just getting salacious answers. So at home was Haiti, and in the real world, you know what I'm saying, then it was like America. But I, like, I had like work ethic. I was determined. Like, I started, I could take care of myself like fully at like 8 years old.
But in America, no shade to you guys, the way the culture have like moved majority of its citizens, it's like you're just incompetent for a really long time. Do you think that that's a, that's a, um, a country thing or a personal thing? I think that's— I think this country promotes that. I think, I think because this This country promote— I don't think it promote like us really being able to think critically and being hard workers, being able to think outside the box, right? And usually people— don't get me wrong, other countries, they have their things too, but I just think we're just more bait.
When you're in America, you have such a lack of exposure on what's happening outside of the world because you don't gotta care about any other country. But every other country is like, I wanna be American. You're the new Japan. Best writers, best actors, best this. So it's just like, they're like, yo, keep it up with us.
But it's like, you don't need to get— what, you gonna keep up with the XFL? Can I disagree? Oh my goodness, please do. But, but I would say, but that's why, that's why. And this is the— I do think some producers probably just like, you know what, we want an overseas actor because they're probably going to be more focused.
They're probably going to be less worried about being a celebrity or influencer. Wow. I don't think America teaches laziness. I think America's premise is off efficiency that is oftentimes overused. And again, this interview is on, uh, Cam Newton's platform.
Shout out to Cam. Because I want to make sure, because this is going to be an important part of the interview. So restate what you just said. I don't agree with you that in paraphrasing what you're saying, Americans, dare I say lazy. Yeah.
But the work ethic— Is very lazy and poor. Right. What America's premise is, is efficiency. Like, if there's an easier way to do something, well, that's what it will be. And as collateral, the nation, the kids suffer because they become incompetent.
So it's not a direct teaching, but I think it's a side effect of efficiency. Like with AI, AI is more efficient. Now, now let's just get to the— now let's get to the just the clip part. There's the other— yeah, where's just the clip? That was the whole shit.
Yeah, yeah, it was in the capacity to really— can we address that? Here we go. Okay, yeah, that have, that have landed these massive American— or portraying American characters As an American yourself, which has roots to, uh, you know, Haitian descent. But another thing too, I'm not gonna lie, I do think the work ethic of Americans— Oh, it's the same shit. Is one that people in a higher position, it's hard for them to trust it.
Humans are becoming like more incompetent. That nigga sounds nuts. And America is like producing— like, we baby our kids like in a way that is like unheard of. Yeah, I think it's like— You got me here. Yeah, he sounds stupid.
He also said that slavery's over and we should get over it. He said that too? Yeah, we blame everything on slavery. Um, yo, please, please kill this nigga. Please.
Like, no, let me tell you this, my nigga. If you are 8 years old taking care of yourself that's not a blessing. Yeah. Be the fuck clear, my nigga. That is horrible that you're 8 years old and you can't be a kid and you have to take care of yourself at 8.
That's nothing to brag about, nigga. That means your parents failed, or your circumstances in your environment was so fucked up that you had to do for yourself at 8 years old. So that's not incompetency on behalf of the American people. That means, nigga, we out here providing better lives for our children. What the fuck are you talking about?
That ain't nothing to be bragging about. Yeah. And when you start talking about, uh, uh, uh, people working harder, to Cam's point, if you guys were so hardworking— and I'm not even gonna say that, let me rephrase this, my nigga. Hard work don't create success. Sometimes it does and sometimes it don't.
You need opportunity too. So you need opportunities, and America provides the ability for some people to scale up in a way that most countries around the world do not. And that's the whole fucking glory of America. You could come here poor and you could die rich. When you in Haiti, 9 times out of 10, when you are born poor, you're gonna die poor.
And so America provides an ability for people to, to work hard and change their circumstances. And working smarter versus working harder is a thing. He don't know what the fuck he's talking about. And I like him, but he need to shut the fuck up. Can you, can, can you, Mark, just speak to— because moments like this, I, I, I start to understand why movements like FBA or ADOS speak so strongly to delineation and just really making it clear.
Because you get people who come over here with this rhetoric. Not come over here. Well, he was actually born here. He's been here. But some of that rhetoric is passed Parents.
Well, yeah, let me play this clip too. We got clips. Growing up, we would imitate Americans. We love imitating African Americans because in our household we were told, don't be like African Americans. It was like, they were like, that's not you, that's not your upbringing.
That just makes a kid like want to be an African American. So we're like, all right, we're gonna be 50 Cent, bet. Like, so, so how do you associate— oops, sorry. Yo, I hate— ah, I hate it. I hate everything he's saying, and it speaks to a hate towards Black And then we got this other clip.
Oh, there's more. I was arrested when I was 13 and I was like a juvenile delinquent, so I was just doing bad shit. Um, so when I started living with my pops— I was arrested when I was 13 and I was like a juvenile delinquent, so I was just doing bad shit. Um, so when I started living with my pops, I went to Allway High School, and over there it was different. Like, girls were saying stuff like, yo, like, I would date you, but But like, my parents would like hang the both of us, right?
And I was like, that's crazy. That speaks to his mentality. That's why I'm playing it. I'm telling you, when a lot of Black people been nothing but around white people, you take them, they start looking at white people like their ice is colder than ours. Yeah, you understand what I'm saying?
And so they start taking on, I'm, I'm not as good as the whites, but I'm better than y'all. But that's also being— never mind just being around the whites, that's being passed down within that household. 1,000%. He said something that lets you know that that was being passed down. 1,000%.
And you don't want to be like the African Americans. I'm gonna keep it a buck. I don't— I'm frustrated hearing it. I— man, fuck him. Fuck him.
Oh, you niggas can say what they want, feel what— yo, fuck you. The way you speaking about Black Americans and the way— even when he talked about the acting shit, when he said, uh, if they would have got a British acted, maybe, uh, BMF would have still been on. Like, like the shit he was saying, it just speaks to a hate that you have towards Black Americans, and almost like you think you better than— it's the same. Almost. No, you think you are better than— And it's, and it's nasty.
And, and be clear, he's not independent in that. I said this a couple, a couple months ago on the pod. A lot of people that come here, even though they are Black people, when they come here from other countries, a lot of them people are taught that from day one. Yes. Do not fuck with the American blacks.
They are taught that, my nigga. Yeah, and the data shows that, that immigrants who come here have different attitudes toward America, have different attitudes toward the possibilities of America, have different attitudes toward people who are in, you know, black Americans who came here and descendants of US slavery. It's not unclear, and everything he said is so deeply anti-black. And because we don't delineate, and because we lump everybody into the pile of black What then happens is when he says, get over slavery— White people start taking it back. White people be like, look, look, look, he said it.
Look, this is what they say. He's successful, and he said it, so look, y'all should— Exactly. When he's not entitled to our justice claim anyway. He wasn't a descendant of slavery here. He didn't go through the shit we went through.
And a lot of the complaints you have about Black culture, and about the alleged pathology— and we are not a pathological people, but the things you're calling pathologies around being lazy, and drug dealing, and all this stuff are part of the afterlife of US slavery, which took away so many resources, which dismantled our families, and which led to the prison industrial complex, which is what is constantly preying upon us. And if you were raised so well and with such independence and such wisdom, how the fuck did you end up getting locked up for the very same drug industry that you think you— you know what I mean? That you say marks our pathology. That shit is crazy to me. And this, to your point, point is why so many people do become attracted to movements that acknowledge the legitimacy of Black American culture as a unique thing, that recognize our justice claims, that recognize the need for reparations, and that push back against— because I hate xenophobia.
We should never be having these diaspora wars. On any side. I'm against diaspora wars. But sometimes we talk about diaspora wars like they only happen from the inside out, like it's only Black Americans. Americans attacking Haitians or Jamaicans or West Africans or whatever.
And it's— no, it's, it's this other piece of it where we get, we get called all these things. And by the way, everything he said was unfactual. It was unsupported by data. It's just a bunch of anecdotal bullshit that's used to demonize and pathologize. It bothers me that he thought he was safe by taking black out of his campaign.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. To just say American, right? He meant black Americans. But you recall, but you recall the But you reap all the benefits of Black American roles. You have no— at no point is anyone viewing you as— like, he passes off as a Black American.
He's acting. He's good at acting. We wouldn't even know you if it wasn't for Black Americans, nigga. So you would have no problem reaping the benefits off of that, which goes back to the conversation we had before when Dayo was up here about just people from another country, another place, coming over here and taking Black American roles. Roles and not honoring the fact that, yeah, that's what you're doing in a certain sense, because you're switching up your accent, you're doing all these other things, you're dressing a certain way to play these roles, but then you get in these spaces and then want to disrespect the very people you're pretending to be.
Yeah, it's fucked up. I don't, I don't give a fuck what, what role, what movie he got. Fuck him. I ain't watching shit. He got nothing to do with me.
How old is he? I don't care. I don't give a fuck. What I'm saying is that a lot of— so I'm Haitian American, Haitian Jamaican And I said this before, like, in my household, I wasn't taught that. I wasn't taught about the separation.
So I can't relate to that. It's not until I got older and they started calling the show I was a part of, Breadman and them, when they started to teach me. And then I came up here and said the reparations line and the ADOS and the— and the FBA let me have it. Now, with that being said, if he's younger than me, that is taught in the home. He's 30.
That's taught in the home. That's not— because times has changed, right? Like, even though that there are people that want to— what's the word? Delineate. Delineate.
Even though a lot of us look at each other as, as one, regardless of how— so that's taught in the home, that's, that's passed down, and that's ignorant. I don't stand, I don't stand with that because I wasn't taught that. I grew up in, like I said, Winthrop and Rutland, East 93rd, Black Americans, and everybody was one in that neighborhood. So that's why I was a blind to any type of— I didn't see anything like that. So hearing that, I don't like that at all, you know what I mean?
And me, that's why I stayed quiet, because when we say, uh, you know, Black people not getting reparations and stuff, it's not our place to say it because we're not owed that if you do the history and learn and you do your research. Not from, not from the US. Yeah, not from the US. Haitians are owed reparations. They're owed reparations from France and all that stuff.
But I'm saying anything from the US, we're not owed that, so we have to mind our business. Or support. Or support. Or you can still acknowledge that these things have taken place, or these injustices— What I'm saying is just like, when you learn the knowledge and you understand it, you become open-minded to it, you have a different approach. Like, I have a different approach.
You know what I mean? Sometimes you hear things, you're like, yo, man, you guys are beating a dead horse. It can come off like that because it's like, oh, they're not giving in to anything, so you want to push your 2 cents on it. But at the end of the day, when you hear the story from the ADOS, when you hear these stories about their ancestors and stuff like that and how important it is to them, if you have nothing positive to say, yo, shut the fuck up and move on. Yeah, man, fuck this dude.
Shut up and move on. So I'm gonna say that. Go, go, go, go do the necessary research. Go get the education. Yeah, get the education.
Look up some Black history. You don't get to do this. You don't get to do this, bro. Like, Kenya Barris, 50 Cent, Tyler Perry. Tyler Perry.
These are Black Americans, my nigga, that, that you wouldn't exist in, and you wouldn't be sitting on Cam's couch if it wasn't for them. You don't get to sit there and now shit on Black Americans. That's it. Ain't nothing else we got to say about this nigga. We can move on.
Yeah, I'm with you. He a Black American. Fuck, he was born in Brooklyn. That's the other part. What?
He was born out here. Born in Brooklyn. Saying that about. Yeah, I don't know, they got to be taught, man. Exactly.
That's a household thing. You still got to be taught who you are. All right, and until you get that teaching, shut the fuck up. Get up out of here. Exactly.
We good. Read more, talk less. We good. I got you. We got to start taking stance on that.
Whether, whether you have one parent that's Black, two parents, whatever, certain shit is just wrong. You can be a part of the problem, or you can just help try to fix certain shit. I don't have to go ahead and reap the benefits of reparations to still support. But you would though? Cool, whether I did or didn't, I don't still have to go ahead— I can still support my FBA ADOS brothers and sisters in their fight to get what they owe.
Yeah, thank you. And shout out to my Zoes. Yeah, I mean, yeah, letting one nigga and the stupid shit he's saying— man, I done been in the trenches with some Zoes. Oh man, and they love us. Yeah, somebody— we love them.
Yeah, somebody was— no wonder. Okay, I see what they were talking about. I'm like, somebody was tagging me in some stuff about Haitians, and I'm like, where's this coming from? But apparently that's where it came from. Yeah, it's coming from— Yeah, I was confused.
Okay, all right, I've been watching this. I wanted y'all take on this genuinely, like, is this offensive or not? Um, on Cam and Mason— Treasure versus Gloria Vélez. My brain froze. It's Treasure This is from, uh, It Is What It Is.
Treasure Wilson. Uh, Treasure Wilson, shout out to her. We love her. I love you, Treasure. Uh, she was asking Cam and Mase a question about, uh, back in the day, Video Vixens.
Where did she— She was like, where did all of— yeah, I'll just play it actually on one meter. She's saying, where did they go? Did they go back to Gen Pop? Yes. Or we could do that.
You gotta hear. I'm still gonna play it. Yeah.
Did they go back to gen pop? You know— oh shit, hold on, chill out, chill out, chill out. I gotta get off. Here we go, I got it. No, you don't.
I gotta leave. No, you don't. Sit down. Please stay right here. What happened to like most of those like video vixens back in the days?
Like y'all just like— they just go back to like general population? General population?
I'm so serious. Like, where do they go? Like, I know that— back in general population is crazy. I'm serious. That's a good— like, where do they go?
Like, because I thought she was so bad. Like, I was, I was definitely snooping on lunch. I was like, okay, like, I know she was like the thing. Like, what happened? Like, where'd they go?
Back in general population is crazy. That's a good— yeah, that's a good way to put Where did they go? You know what's— yo, this is— and then Gloria Vélez responded. Responded. She was not happy with that.
That's— I think I sent you that link too. I don't know if you— Is she the only one? Is she the only one that responded? Yes, to my knowledge. On camera?
Yes. Gloria says, meanwhile, decades later— and she responded on camera, I'm not going to play that, but I'll read what she said here— decades later, the Video Vixens are minding their business, living full lives, raising families, families, building businesses, and evolving. Yet somehow we're still the conversation. Maybe the real question isn't what happened to the video vixens. Maybe it's why are y'all so obsessed with us?
And let me ask y'all this: why do people have such a hard time allowing women from that era to grow beyond the image they first knew us for? Uh, seems like the thing that's getting hung up is the word general population. But, but yo, also, she responded with B-word. Yeah, yeah, she said that. That Gloria Vélez thing started with like— Oh yeah, she called her bitch.
Yeah, she called her bitch. That's what got you. Treasure responded and said, bitch is a lot. Yes, a lot. Uh, I wish I could find it.
Find what Treasure said because I don't want to fuck her words up. Uh, Treasure said, uh, Gloria Vélez calling me a bitch is crazy. My era doesn't have video vixens, so it was a genuine question, but clearly I struck a a nerve. I guess there's a disconnect here, but go off, I guess. So she took the high road to me.
She did. Whose side are y'all on? Treasure. I'm on Treasure's side, although I understand what Gloria was saying. Yeah, I understand their plight.
I just don't think general population was the diss that they took it— she took it as. Yeah. I think them laughing about the word general population is what made them seem more offensive than it is. And I think Treasure could under— could, could find a way. Yeah, you didn't have Video Vixens of your era, but we got IG models.
That's what Brandon Marshall said on their show. So you, you can, you can find the equal. Yeah, it was a funny diss. It was a diss. Like, niggas gotta be honest, it was a little slight, and it was to be funny at the, at the expense of Video Vixens, using the word general pop.
I still think it was funny. I mean, don't get me wrong. I don't think it was mean funny though. It wasn't mean. It's at the expense of women of a certain decade that already had a stigma to them.
Yo, Video Vixens back then, y'all was popular, boom, boom, boom. What most people won't acknowledge is that most of them was still in gen pop even while it was Video Vixens, right? So cool, where are they at today? It would be the same thing we say another 20 years from now when we start talking about all the StarTenders and the fucking— Some of the StarTenders are doing extremely well for themselves. Some of the Video Vixens did extremely well.
And a lot of them aren't. A lot did. Yeah, but there's always a general population shows. Yes, true. So the general population saying that you're doing bad, that just sounds like you're going back amongst the public eye anymore.
It's how I took it to be. I think the laughter after it implied it's bad. Implies that. That's what made it— yeah, but again, you're just going amongst the people, going back into— you're not in the public eye. Yeah, but generally it's a prison reference.
Yeah, but there's a way— there's a way not living luxurious, luxurious anymore. That's how I took it. Yeah, and if that's what you were trying to say, there is a way to say that and offend no one. Yeah. So you feel like general pop is offensive?
Yeah. Yeah, it was meant— I do. It was meant to be. Why? I don't.
I do. I think general population is going amongst the people, or you going to peace. Where'd you come from? Where did it come from? Where did you come from?
Not you, but if you, if you, if you, if you're going to general pop, then where were you? You was in VIP. No, you was in VIP. Yeah. And you're not in VIP anymore.
VIP no more. Got it. So my, my take— Saying your life stepped down. I, I think there's shade in there. It is shade.
Let me ask you a question. But even if it's shade— Let me ask you a question. Okay. Do you think— and I'm sorry, shout out to Glo. I'm not disrespecting Glo at all.
I'm not disrespecting none of them. I'm saying this, if, if, if you were up in regards to the entertainment business, do you feel the need to respond?
Would you? So I don't, I don't, I don't like the premise because let me— I don't know whether Glo is up or down. I say in the entertainment industry. I ain't say financially. I'm saying apparently she has OnlyFans.
She's doing— I mean, she's doing— we're not talking about money. I'm saying— and she put a book out, Notoriety. Yeah, I'm in. Sounded like a sucker. I read that.
Yeah. Oh, true story. We circle that shit. I gotta keep it. Oh, keep it in mind.
But I'm saying if you're an author Is that that? I mean, if you're an author and your book is on some entertainment shit, are you entertaining? I think I get what he's saying. If Gloria Velez was still the topic of conversation, was an actress that was a main yes A-list celebrity, right? A B-list celebrity.
She doesn't respond like this. I don't know that. I don't think she should have responded. I don't think she should have responded. Period.
She should have responded because because they didn't say Gloria Velez. They didn't. They said video vixen. So while I think there was some there, some. Something to that.
That bullet didn't have a name on it. At all. And Treasure did say most. She didn't say all. So if you are one of the Video Vixens that found some success after that, you can just say that don't apply.
Let that shit land where the fuck it land. And maybe she was repping for all of them. And I don't think that Treasure was being all the way shady, 'cause she's too young. Yeah. She wasn't born.
Yeah. Exactly my point. So I'm asking what— I keep hearing all of this about— Where are they? In essence, that ain't to me. That's not a shot.
It's like saying, "Yo, dog, they was the shit at one point in time. Where are they?" Yo, Treasure is sitting next to Cam and Mace. She's picking up some of the funny things that they do. I think she was doing just cool lingo, but I think she was just doing cool lingo. I don't think she meant it to be hurtful, but I think she understands podcasting.
She understands the platform she on, so she used a term that can get them activated. When people hear it, I can understand. But I don't think she was trying to throw shots of disrespect. No, no, no. I mean, she's 25 years old.
I mean, most of these Video Vixens' careers were over or, or close to over when she was— when Treasure was born. Certainly was over by the time she was in first grade. So I think she— No, no, she was born in '02. It was a new wave. Oh, she was born in 2000?
She's born in '01, May '01, I think. Yeah. So it was a new wave around. That's fucking— Okay. She may not know.
Let me bring it back like that. Hey, hey, they wasn't all the way finished, but she was like 6 when that happened. So again, like, maybe she don't know. I, I think it's, I think it's an overreaction. But if you're trying to affirm the dignity and legitimacy of video victims, don't address Treasure as a B. I, I, that part I agree with that.
But I can see fighting for women. Yeah, I can see an internet world, of course, where once that go out, everybody's tagging her, right? What do you say about this? What do you say about this? Because you know how it gets.
And then enough comments, somebody now responds to that. I think her responding ain't the problem. I think how she responded is the problem. Absolutely. Because I think she should have offered a, hey, this is a dope conversation, you have a platform, I got a book, hey, let me respond in a way where this actually turns into a conversation.
I'm not saying that that would happen. I think some of that is in there too. Glo has another book coming. Yeah, press run. They, they got a popping show.
This young lady is popping. Let's sit down and have a talk. You, you called for me. Let me, let me let you know what we doing. Well, what I'm doing.
Yeah, but you, but you do it in a way where it extends the conversation and now doesn't become a— because you're not going to win the back and forth with Cam and Mase. You're just not. You're not going, you're not going to win that. Not at all. So you— so I think there is a way to do this where you— What are you talking about?
The woman you're talking about? I think Glo responding in that way— Well, you see what Cam already did. I heard Cam's response. Yeah, yeah, immediately. Like, because they, they gonna, they gonna go to bat.
They don't play when it comes to, when it comes to Treasure. They protect her, as they should. Absolutely. So I do, I do think that there was a, a conversation that could have been had based off of that question, no matter how it was asked. I just think her response could have determined how far it went.
Do you trying to say by her, did her response warrant that Cam'ron response? I think I was glad that Cam defended, um, facts, her, defended Treasure, because I think you have to do that. That's their little sister, you know, and he has the platform. I, I think that I don't necessarily agree with everything he said in his response, uh, because I don't think all bets are off once somebody does something wrong that you can just, you know, blow the doors off. But I do like that he stood up and defended her.
Again, I thought— I didn't like all the details. I didn't agree with all the details and the approach of the defense, but, you know, it's an ugly situation. I don't think it had to be. I think all of this could have been a situation where Gloria Vélez heard that and said nothing because her name wasn't on that bullet, or said, hey, took the high road and said, hey, since you're asking, here's what's up with the women in this industry, and use it as an opportunity to educate the public. I'll set up something with some of the more popular, uh, video vixens, and we can sit down and talk to you about some of the positive things that we have going on.
Yeah, some of the business ventures that we've embarked upon. Et cetera, et cetera. I'm not saying little sister, but at what point do men now just kind of step aside and just let women handle they handle too? Because if this is 2 women going back and forth, don't even throw in Treasure. But it depends.
Treasure's younger. It depends. Age matters. And depends on the person. I'm protected at 25.
I'm with you. And not just that, I'm sending a message out to everybody else. You want to fuck with her, you got to deal with us. You want to fuck with us. Yeah.
But she's protected. So if the response and the defense defense is, uh, with some low shit added to it, then it is out of pocket. And there's no need to go that low, uh, in the defense. The defense is not at question. It's kind of what are you using to defend this kind of fuck.
Can I just ask a question? Oh, go ahead. Is it about this? I'm sorry. It's about this topic, but I'm— go ahead.
No, I, I wanted to, to ask y'all a question about like, do y'all feel— how do y'all feel about the clipping culture? Not about— because it was something that happened with me. So I wanted to ask about the clipping culture. Is it pushing the culture forward, or is it just adding numbers to the board? Um, because sometimes context— if you know, a lot of the clips, you don't have context, and a lot of people start these think pieces, and that shit spread like wildfire.
Like with me, and like, there was some situation that happened to me recently. Oh yeah. And I seen the lady go in on me, which I thought was funny. She was hilarious. But they took, they took a clip.
Hilarious at all. I didn't like it at all. No, I didn't think it was— I'm talking about, wasn't nothing funny about it. No, no, at all. I didn't like— wasn't nothing funny about it.
Comments underneath. I'm talking about the jokes, Joe. I ain't see nothing. I'm only talking about the jokes. I confirm that.
Not what she said and not how she took it that far. I'm just talking about, I'm a guy about jokes. Oh, you cracked the joke. She called me pudding body. I thought that was funny.
But I get what you say. Every, every, everybody was upset in my team, but I I wasn't that mad because I know— I want to highlight it because I ain't see it. I know the truth about it. I ain't even see it. No, but, but at the end of the day though is that we can, we can, we can take, we can take something so small and just blow it out of proportion without the full context.
And I want to know if that's really helping. I, I know what it's doing. So here's the thing about that, because I, I agree clip culture adds to that, right? But then that almost presumes that people are acting in good faith. A lot of people are just waiting for a moment to go off, and anything that's even close to the topic, they're gonna make a video about.
Not because they got the clip out of context, because they don't want the context. They want to be able to make a 3-minute, 5-minute response so that they can sell their book or their movie or their whatever. And so I don't want to just blame that on clip culture. I think that's— that's— I feel like it's always been the case. But Mark, we practice up here.
Joe would say— he was stopping and say, yo, go do the research before you say anything. Because a lot of times we almost fell for a clip and we stopped the whole broadcast and rewinded. So if there's a whole video out there or if there's something out there to go, just why don't you do the research instead of putting that jacket on somebody? Some people don't want to. People are not trying to do that.
So you put a whole jacket like that, there's a whole video like, I think people like— Dream Doll is my friend. I think people like propping themselves up to make themselves look better as a person off of someone else's downfall. I think that's the other part about it too. I think niggas trying to— and I appreciate you guys saying that, you, Mark and Joe, I appreciate you guys defending me like that because I guess you guys know me. I appreciate that, hearing that from both of you at the same time, like, yo, I didn't like that, you know, because I did see you guys tagged in it.
I, I ignored it. I didn't think anything of it because the full video and the context is out, is out there. She said put him body though. Yeah, she said— yeah, I thought that was funny. I'm keeping that.
All right, we keep that. Yeah, but I don't know what else she said, but fuck all that. She be trying to sell tickets, bro. That's what I'm saying. I think I've seen clips and I think so, I'm not pro or against, because I've seen clips where somebody will take a conversation in its entirety and say, yo, this is something that could be discussed in a broader sense.
And it, and it helped. And I think that's dope. But then I've also seen people take clips, like clips from up here, where they'll purposefully, yeah, take some shit and direct it and cut it right at the point where you sound like you saying some wild shit just to engage. And niggas be like, yo, how the fuck they say that? Yo, I hate them.
I also think that niggas make too much money to keep playing a certain type of way. But I knew you— I knew you were gonna say that. I knew that you was gonna say that. What you mean? But it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's a double-edged— it's a double-edged sword.
But when can you have fun though, Joe? Like, when, when can you have fun? Me and Dream Doll. Me chasing Dream Doll around the carpet. And these people that's framing this shit to make it look some type of way, like Flip is trying to kidnap Drina, you bitches don't even know what the fuck you talking about.
You can't kidnap Drina. She stabbed the shit out of this nigga. She still be whooping his ass. Yeah. That's not indicting her.
Yo, cut that out, please. Yo, yo, yo. She a friend, she's the homie. She not dead. She's a friend, she's the homie.
We love her. Yes. We frequent the same places. We do. So now, so here you go, somebody, from fucking Pittsburgh or fucking Nova Scotia coming in chiming in in New York.
Mind your fucking business. Mind your business. Hey, your efforts are appreciated when they are needed. When you see somebody really doing some sleazeball slimy shit or fucking not protecting women's rights or really trying to harm them, then please, we, we love that. But to jump the gun— The field is so— There's no jumping the gun.
But that's the problem. Hold up, that's the problem. Because we sit here and we speak about some of these other streamers that are doing this fuck shit. So to the person watching from the outside, they kind of lumping everybody together. Everybody that knows you know you not doing no fuck shit.
Yeah, you get what I'm saying? Everybody. With Dream Doll in this situation. Yes. Some other shit.
I do want to get back to that topic about When you finish, Free, I do, because I know Joe, he always hints at that, but he doesn't want to seem like he's shitting on how anybody is making money, right? So he, he throws little nuggets out of there. No, but, but you saying that some of us make too much money to do what? To have fun? And if I chase my friend, I'm chasing my friend.
Certain fun is off the table when you make enough money, to be honest with you. Yeah, I want you to elaborate on that. I say that all the time. You do, but you never elaborate on it. Broke people— broke guys, let me say, not broke people.
Broke guys can have a fun that you can't have, that people in this room cannot have. Oh, that makes sense. Okay. Broke guys could crack a joke. Broke guys could say something a little edgy to be funny.
Broke guys can have a dark sense of humor. A broke guy can do a whole list of things. Mm-hmm. And nothing will happen. That changes dramatically when you're not broke.
And normally the guy that's not broke has gone through some things on his way up here. On his way to not being broke. So he's kind of aware of this. I love the shit that the NBA niggas are doing now. No hugs.
You want a picture? It's no touching. It's no— it's damn near no pounds. Keanu Reeves. With the opposite sex.
Really? Because, yeah, yeah, because that's where we are. That's the time we live in. I'm not— I was uncomfortable. Yeah, we're not doing that today.
So you playing with a friend of yours is fine. That's your friend.
For, for, uh, streaming purposes. Yes, it's greater than that. It's almost like, it's almost like Like, you know, practice— what you do in practice is what you— is how you play. Practice how you play. Yeah.
So yeah, you playing with your friend, cool, but nah, cameras is on. And people in this room— let me not say people in this room, let me speak for me— I have already danced close enough to that ledge where, oh, you never thought this one would do that. Oh, you never thought this person would say that. Oh my God, this was nothing like that. Oh my God, this— I was Oh, I was just kidding.
You know what's really annoying? Hiring a lawyer to go through all that and explaining yourself to the lawyer. Yeah. That's real annoying. Yeah.
Telling the lawyer, yo, it was a joke. Mm-hmm. Now we gotta go dig up your jokes. Let's go dig up the last 30 years of your jokes, see if you joke like that. It's just all a headache, is all I'm saying.
It's not worth it. It's not worth none of it. Even playing with a friend, when it start getting expensive, and this is expensive, you may not have to pay. You out here getting your face cracked up, that nigga keep— I'm not though. Yo, but be clear, I'm not, I'm not, I'm winning at every turn.
That's called something. That's what I mean. That's what I'm saying. Like, anytime I show up somewhere to the court, I'm, I'm, I'm about, I'm probably about 19 and 1, but why? And then the 1 is way back.
But why even have to keep going to the court? I'm killing. But why are you playing still? Why? Yo, that's what I mean, getting your head cracked.
Yeah, you mean by lawyers? Lawyers. Okay, that's what I mean. Oh yeah, no, I'm paying, I'm paying them, because at some point you got to pay to be protected. You sure do.
Your accountant's got to change, your lawyer's got to change, all that shit got to change. And you got— you got it. And you got it. Most importantly, you got to change first. Yeah, yeah, that's all I got on that.
But I ain't like seeing that shit or reading on this. Get the fuck out of here. You hugged me last week a little tight too, so I could crack all the jokes I hugged you, you was uncomfortable? Get the fuck out of here. The back crack he gave me was good.
He put it on your back? I go, yeah. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Y'all always take shit. Y'all always— We do, right?
Y'all always take things too far. Honestly, man, this shit is annoying. I think it's ridiculous. Um, Mark, what do you have to say for yourself? The Philadelphia 76ers held an open-to-the-public scrimmage.
Our annual blue and white scrimmage. Yeah, we have it every year for the last 50 years. Yeah, I don't know if it's 50, but for ever since I've been— Just more attention now. Knicks went, so now y'all seeing it. See, I thought you're gonna bring up the, um, the preseason game between the Knicks and the Sixers where we won by 30 without LeBron or Joel Embiid, even though we lost.
Let's clap it up for that. No, I'm not saying we should clap it up. I just thought that's where you were going. I don't, I don't put any stock in preseason. I had many other places to go.
I wanted to talk about LeBron. I mean, you sitting there mocking me. I wanted to talk about LeBron already announcing his chiropractic sciatica issues that he's having. I wanted to talk about the report that came out about what the Sixers brass stepped to Michael Rubin with. Yo, could you step down so we could really get to the business of you and, and, uh, what's that shit?
What's the shit? Sweepstakes? Uh, what's the shit? What's the shit? I don't know.
I don't know what he's talking about. Uh, steak, steak tops all that shit. He's paying for the helicopter. Fanatics. Fanatics.
That's what it is. He's paying for the helicopter back and forth. Mike Rubin's paying for the helicopter? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Fanatics.
What's wrong with that? Fanatics. He don't own the Sixers. Yeah, he don't own the team. I know.
But what were you saying? Y'all beat the Knicks. That's what you were saying, right? Yo, yo, yo, yo, cool. Who is Pablo?
It's Pablo. Pablo, cool. Congrats, you got this award. Pablo's cool. We don't need Pablo.
You don't need Pablo. Look, all I'm saying is you can't, you can't make fun of a scrimmage and act like the preseason game don't matter. I don't think any of us if it matters. I think the Sixers are a great team and we got a great future. This— the Blue and White Game, as we call it, isn't— it's publicly— It's regular.
It's just regular. It's just a team playing against each other. It's like the last practice. It's just something we do in Philadelphia. We got a great future.
We have a lot of fun. It was a great time. We saw a lot of athleticism. We saw everyone was a good sport about it. It was fun.
It's just a fun community event. It's not really a basketball— yeah, it's just a fun thing. I wouldn't put no stock in it. But I will put stock in this regular season when we start. It's about to start.
Why don't we all go out and watch the season? You're not going to the game, right? I'm not going to any game. Yeah, I'm going— I'm not going to not a one game. You decided not to— you really not going to 40 games?
I'm so deadass about what I'm saying. I'm not fucking with the Knicks. That hype was high. I'm not fucking with the Knicks. Just 'cause of the hype?
Just on GP. Just 'cause of the hype? I couldn't go to bed at night. And no, I can't rationalize that. How many X was it?
It was double. Okay. Oh, they did? No, no, no, no, no. They dropped it back for the $1,000.
No, no, no, no, no. They did not drop it back. Yeah, that's the low tier. That's something else that happened where they went to the public with a price and it was too much and they pulled it back. No.
That happened. What I heard is they increased the tickets by a— they, they were up, up, and they dropped it back down to a 12% flat increase across the board. That's not— that's not y'all joint. Hell no. That's a joke.
Double, I'm not paying for it. I have a 100-inch TV that I paid a lot of money for, and I'm gonna get good use of it. And they don't even put your name on the screen when you there, so they can't see it. I don't care about that.
I'm paying all that shit. I don't need my name on the screen. I don't need celebrity row. I would like to go to the games I'd like to go to. I would like the seat that I normally sit in, which is the Joe Budden seat, and that's the end.
But yeah, no, I'm I got rid of all my tickets. I'm going to the home opener against Cleveland— Philly-Cleveland— and I'm going to the Knicks game in February. That's it. Everything else— Yeah, I'm cool. I'll get the— when we go to the playoffs, I'm gonna, uh, claim my tickets so that I can sell them.
That's the first game, right? Yeah, any game I want to go to, I'll buy that, and it'll be cheaper than what the fuck they got going on for me. And again, I'm still gonna root for them. Go Knicks, go Knicks, go Knicks. I was there when they won it.
Awesome. Listen, I can't even joke about the Sixers too much because I'm worried with all this Karl-Anthony Towns shit they got going on. Well, that's— I'm about to say, don't get too cocky, 'cause he's like, it's a failure. He said, so far it doesn't look like it's a success. You know, it's not— we're not gonna get to the regular season with a new deal.
With an extension. Well, they're not. They're gonna negotiate. They're not gonna go into the season and get a new deal. They are gonna negotiate back and forth.
He doesn't want that. But my blood pressure is gonna rise. Well, nobody ever wants that, but you gotta negotiate. But you wanna— I'm just saying, if he's temperamental— So what is he asking, $276 million? Yeah.
No, $276 million is the max he could get. He's apparently willing to take a discount. And this is all from just reading rumors. They offered him $200, right? Yeah, $200.
That's what we're hearing right this second. The gap between $200 and $276 in 2026. I do not believe that the Knicks believe that Karl-Anthony Towns would ever accept $200. But that's the problem when you're in a negotiating game. It's fucked up.
Yeah, yeah. When you're negotiating, one party could say something that's just not gonna can make you feel good, even though you know that this is routine, right? You know that I'm gonna lowball you and yada yada yada, but how it makes you feel in the process sometimes, and especially after you win a championship— bad time to do that. We just talked about that with homie from, uh, was it Detroit? Yes.
Yeah, uh, yeah, that, that's what it was. Who was homie from Detroit? He talking about Jared. Um, that's different though. Very different.
How? But yes, that was the conversation. The money affects how you feel, not the championship. Money affects how you feel, and how he feels might affect how he play. Exactly.
And KAT's supposed to be mad just for them offering the same thing that Jaylen Durant end up taking. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yo, KAT, rooting for you, big dog. Big jersey. Rooting against you, but I want you to get your money.
Yeah, I want you to get your money. I want you to get your money, and then I want you to lose to the Sixers. You brought a chip here. You earned your money. Pay him.
53 years. Pay the man. Give him $250. Give him $250. Uh, Dottie could go.
Deuce, love you, he could go. Josh is gonna hurt, but he could go. Pay the man, yo. Josh can't. Nah, I don't like Josh leaving.
Pay the man. Josh, I don't want to leave neither. Pay the man. He's a staple. I feel that.
Staple. We won, nigga. Can we, can we do a— we got out.
Hey, hey, big dog. That's your man, big dog. Why, why do things happen? I hate it already. These niggas want a chip.
Yo, the thing that won last year may not be the thing that win it this year. Come on, Joe. But why wouldn't the whole league change? Why wouldn't they want to keep the whole team together? Like, you want to keep— you want to keep the foundation because there's— no team in the league wants to go above the second apron.
The second apron is something that the league came up with to to severely penalize— penalize— they came up with the second apron to make sure that the great teams can't continue to spend and add great players. They, they came up with it to even the field so some of the lower, lower market teams have an opportunity, have a shot. So now in the NBA, anybody— if you think you have a chance, a shot, you like a team and you feel like you got a chance at the championship window, they don't want it to be a 10-year run. They don't want no more Lakers, Celtics, Warriors. They don't want no more of that.
Yeah, so you get now a 2 to 3 year window, i.e., the Celtics recently, uh, the Thunder, they're capologists, cap geniuses, so they're different. Um, so that's what they're doing. See, I think they don't want— And there's no team in the league right now in the second apron. Not one. There's not a one.
So they paying this as a Knick thing. No team is in the second apron. Nobody. It hampers, it hampers how you can fix your team and how you can add players to your team. You know, you know what fucks me up?
Because I do believe— I know what you just said, they don't want no team to have that run like that. I believe if that was New York or LA, they okay with them having that run. Just them 2 teams though, because of the market and what that does. See, I think— I think you don't want— like, no shots, you don't want San Antonio, Golden State. Like, those are not the, the prime market that a New York, LA means.
I, I don't even think they don't want the runs. I just think that they don't want you to earn— pay for your championship. Like, if y'all go on a run, y'all go on a run. Y'all gonna go on a run under these specific guidelines. I think that where we got to was niggas was just out here trying to form like Voltron, and it hurts the league because it takes away some of the parity in the league.
You get what I'm saying? So we want everybody to be competitive every single night across the board, and if you start doing these bunch of super teams, it stops that. Well, I know Minnesota about, about to have a nice year with that backcourt, so niggas better watch out. Watch that. As long as you have to play defense.
Well, yeah, that's true, but that backcourt is nice. Joe, we got to— what do y'all think? What do y'all think about, uh, all the happenings at ComplexCon? The stabbing, the luxury shit, the— just any, anything. Does anybody have any takes about anything ComplexCon, you guys?
It looked crazy. Um, the streamers are turning this into like the new drill, uh, the young streamers. Um, the fact that you go in there and, you know, you're fighting and they're jumping people in ComplexCon. Um, I mean, I'm in no position to talk, but at least I take my situations around the corner. I mean, these, these kids are turning this into a whole new thing.
I mean, they're going outside waiting for the opposition. Like, we waiting outside of ComplexCon the next day. They showing weapons on their streams. I mean, I think it's ridiculous. And I think that ComplexCon needs to do something about either beefing up, having more security, or, you know, I mean, or just put— implement rules, you know what I mean?
Bans maybe, you know what I'm saying? I mean, sometimes things happen, so as I said, I'm not, you know, in a position to speak. I mean, I think that ComplexCon I didn't like the way it looked. It didn't look like that, because ComplexCon, you want to go there, you want to be inspired to go there. You want to be inspired to network, even with streamers or, or with celebrities, you know what I mean?
They had, uh, Russell Westbrook there with his lady. They had a lot of different people there. So for that to go on, the only highlight was— Niggas fighting. The fighting and then the stabbing outside. Like, it's just, it's just— now things have to change, and they may change it.
I don't know. They may change it. They may temperament rules, but it didn't make me want to go, right? Like, it's like, all right, nah, them niggas playing like that, I know that. So, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, it made me want to avoid that. Smart. And it's whack because ComplexCon, some of the benefits that you get from going in— Exactly. Being able to stream. Yeah.
And do all that. But that's also the curse of it because everyone's looking to stream and get a moment. So you can't even really like— can't— yeah, you can't say, oh, well, let's just get in the stream and shit, get rid of that, 'cause you pretty much getting rid of what's drawing the attention there. So it's, it's a weird space. These young kids is out here bugging.
I'm glad that, uh, I'm glad that Lucky ended up being all right. Yeah. Uh, when this story first broke, a lot of people hit me to say, yo, Lucky got stabbed at ComplexCon. It's like, yo, that's fucked up, yo.
Who's lucky? I thought— I knew the joke was coming. Not a joke. I mean, I just— I thought you was gonna say, damn, lucky day. I just didn't know who.
I still don't know who. I didn't know he wasn't— I don't want nobody to get stabbed. Indeed.
Yes, I don't want nobody to get stabbed. But if you know I don't know who the nigga is that got stabbed, tell me more when you— that's all. You can't say— you can't— it's like, yeah, you can't say one name. Lucky is not like a one-name guy. Yeah, yo.
And then I see the nigga, and that's how disconnected we are now. It's a different world. Because in that world, in that complex world, that Hypebeast, uh, streamer, Recep, whatever the fuck, they might very much know who he— I think he's attached to, I think, Playboi Carti and stuff. I don't know. You know Lucky like that?
No, so I didn't know. I did my research after, but initially I didn't know who he was. No, I didn't know who a lot of those people were. ComplexCon told me that I don't be knowing shit about nothing that's going on. Facts.
In that world too. We old, Playboy. I don't know. That's their world. There's a beauty to being old.
Yes. Yeah, I have to be tapped in. Aging is beautiful. Yeah, exactly. I got little cousins and shit that I talk to when I need to know what's going on.
Going over there. I don't know. I'm sure I can ask one of my nephews, yo, who that? And they'll give me a full rundown. Yep.
That's what you're supposed to do. Listen, I'm telling you, and I'm being facetious, I'm in here telling y'all I didn't know who Lucky was, which is true. That's easy to say. Let me take it a step further. I don't know who Cardi is.
Playboi Carti? Yo, careful. I know that he got niggas and he worships the devil and whatever. Nah, you on your own, Playboy. What?
Listen, when you Google it, that's what it says. The fuck? But no, I'm not in the know with all these niggas. Kanye West walking through that shit. I love Kanye West looking at Kaisannatt's boot.
Ew. Ew. That was one of— that was some of the dopest shit I seen. Kanye West looks so confused. Yuck.
Yo, Kanye was like, okay, you showing me. He pointed at his boots. He looked— this is what you was going for? Yo, these look like— hold on, Kanye ain't know what to do. Yo, Kanye is— yo, uh, all you niggas is Kanye's son, yo.
I ain't going to lie. Like, niggas don't want to admit it. That's why it's hard for me to look at this fashion Kaisannat, because it reminds— it just looked like somebody that's trying to do the Kanye from '01 too much. And I just thought he was was in his own bag being— doing him. Yeah, yeah.
But whatever, man. Salute to Kanye. Kanye was about to fix that boot while it was in his hand. Kanye was about— yo, somebody give me a pen. Give me the knife.
Give me a Sharpie, some salt and suck, a sewing machine. I'll take care of this right now. He was about to fix that fucking consonant boot. Cut that shit in half, nigga. Oh my Lord.
Yo, Jesus. Shout out to everybody that was at ComplexCon, man. You couldn't— you couldn't have paid me to show up. Show up, I'll tell you that.
Look, you wanted to go. I'm trying to get to this chickie, nigga. Yeah, I mean, you do want to go sometimes, man, but seeing shit like that— No, I never— I don't want to be part— no, I don't, I don't want to be part of that. I don't want to go to that. I'm scared because the way they're doing it now, like, I already have enough problem with regular niggas come up to me, like, streaming it with the camera.
Like, come on, stop, man. Them niggas just don't give a fuck. Then I seen another clip with some little nigga streaming. I don't know none of the streamers, but he was trying to talk to the dude, uh, King 6'8, who be going viral on— so he went up to him and he was like— well, King 6'8 was doing something, and the little Spanish nigga was like, yo, what's up, man? Yo, what's up, man?
Homeboy's ignoring him. He said, yo, what's up, man? You really— you really 6'8? Stand over here by my man who's 6'7. Man, I want to see if you really 6'8.
6'8 nigga in his bag talking to girls, ignoring them or whatever. Boy, why'd you do that? Yo, you ignoring me? You egoing me? And the streamers got their own, their own legal, their own lingo.
Yo, you egoed me? Yeah. You bitch-ass nigga. Now he's screaming to the top of his lungs for the next 10 minutes calling homeboy a bitch-ass nigga, but from a distance. Bitch-ass tuck head motherfucker.
See, and that's why I can't stream. I'm going to go to jail. L's in the chat, man.
What? Let me say it. W, W, W. That's what homie would say. He was like, yo, chat, he egoed me. Chat, what the fuck?
What does that mean? Egoed me. What that mean, Flip? Ego mean like you, you, you stunning on me. You trying to little boy me.
Oh Oh my God, what's chat? That nigga chat is you talking to the— your chat. Don't say that again. Don't say it. Don't say it.
What's chat? I don't know what the fuck that is. Oh, it's what you do. Oh, should we take a minute for our brother now, or is it the great Freddie Jackson? It's time, y'all.
Uh, I've been trying to pretend it didn't happen as soon as the show started. Literally at the intro, we got the news that Freddie Jackson had passed away.
Word of the reason for his passing hasn't been shared yet, but we do know— Don't matter. Don't matter. He'd been battling kidney disease though for, for a few years now, and I know that he was in a lot of distress and pain at some point. So this is a tough one, man. Freddie Jackson is the soundtrack to Black music, Black cookouts, Black barbecues, Black funerals, Black weddings.
He's just such a special figure, man. And he is, like, to me, the quintessential singer of that generation. He's like the prototype for how it happened. To me, it's only 2 people, Luther and Freddie. And in a lot of ways, very similar.
Both from New York. He came up uptown. Mm-hmm. Went to White Rock Baptist Church. When singers actually were trained in the church.
And he was a gospel singer before stepping out and meeting Paul Laurence, who is his songwriting partner and one of the greatest songwriter-producers of the generation. And he became part of the Laurence Johnson Ensemble for a while before headlining his own group. Mystic Merlin. And he was a star from the beginning. He was always meant to be a solo artist.
So when he drops in '85, um, with Rock Me Tonight, it was on from then. Grammy, you know— Over. Best New Artist. Song after song. Rock Me Tonight, You Are My Lady, um, we going on, right?
I mean, you know, Have You Ever Loved Somebody. I mean, there's so many Freddie Jackson songs. And when he— he was not only a skilled vocalist, but he knew how to touch that part of your soul. When Freddie sang, you felt love, you felt sex, you felt seduction, you felt sultry, but it was never distasteful. It was subtle.
You know, the words were unspoken sometimes. He was just such a talent and such a kind soul, such a beautiful person. It's funny, we were up here joking— Yes. About Freddie. Um, not too long ago, and he played right back with us.
He jumped right on Instagram and was like, what did I say about Luther? And it was really nice right before he passed. I didn't have a relationship with him, but right before, uh— Glad we cleared that up for the OG too before he died. He backed me the fuck down. And that's how I ended up talking to him, because we started talking offline after that, and it was just nice to talk to him.
He was so kind and generous and humble. To have this many hits and to mean this much to Black music, to American and to be that humble and cool was just a testament, man. And so while it hurts to see Freddie go, knowing that he was in so much pain gives a little bit of solace to know that, you know— Celebrate him. Yeah. So we gonna celebrate Freddie Jackson.
We gonna lift him up. We gonna listen to his music. We gonna drink a little something. And we just gonna, you know, wish his family, his friends, and his fans well.
Rest in peace, Freddie Jackson. We love you. Hey, here you go.
Oh, can I, um, can I just send condolences to my family as well? Good. Just during the broadcast, found out that my cousin Tyrone passed. It's very sudden. I don't know what happened, but, uh, I want to send love to my Aunt Marie.
At this time of year, it's kind of crazy because lost her son, another son, last year around the same time. And so it's a lot. So So I wanted to send my love to her, send love to, uh, Tyrone's daughter and rest of the family. Love y'all. Yeah, it's time to start checking on the people and— Check on your people.
Yeah, get your health and everything together, man. We love you. I'm sorry, I want to send rest in peace to my cousin who passed away last night as well, Jamel. Um, love you. Sending, you know, prayers to his mother Anita and, um, just hope we do the best we can.
Yeah, get checked out. Well, yeah, I want to say I gotta say rest in peace to the fucking hockey dude from ESPN that died. Oh shit, yeah. I fucked with dude. He was on there forever.
I fucked with dude, man. Yeah, man. Yeah, that— no, that one hurt. Rest in peace to— There's a comedian that just passed too. He was a part of a few shows.
Uh, you don't know comedy, yo.
What's his name? Um, he was on Def Comedy Jam back in the day. He used to be doing it. McFadden. Reggie McFadden.
Yes, Reggie McFadden. Rest in peace to Reggie McFadden. Yeah, rest in peace, Reggie McFadden. Yeah, you don't know comedy. You just be saying shit, bro.
