Good morning, girlies. It's The Toast. It's Jackson Claude, and we're your hosts. It's your favorite show, the fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, It's The Toast.

00:00:22

They sound amazing.

00:00:24

Welcome back to The Toast, and happy Tuesday. The first Tuesday toast of the year. I'm I'm feeling particularly titulated because I'm sitting next to a woman with big tits and say, Jax, how you doing? Oh, wow. I just wanted to keep the alliteration going.

00:00:37

X-rated.

00:00:38

Listen, we may be moms, but we're still... We say fuck.

00:00:40

I like to cuss.

00:00:42

Yeah, I cuss a little.

00:00:44

Hey, Koji.

00:00:45

People who say cuss, don't cuss.

00:00:47

Don't cuss. They're like, Darn.

00:00:48

It's like a virtue signal, right? Nobody says that.

00:00:51

Darn, darn, darn.

00:00:52

How you doing, Jax? Happy Tuesday. It's a big day. We've got to your toaster. We got flow over stories that didn't make the cut yesterday, but are still very good.

00:00:59

That on any other day would have been Fast Five. Not the first day of the year when we're talking about Alex or Tom braided, the rest of you. Ashley Tisdale, you could take a seat.

00:01:06

Right. Okay. Thank you, Ashley Tisdale. The theme of today's episode, I have a couple of things. It's actually similar to the theme of yesterday's episode.

00:01:13

Which is the theme of the year?

00:01:14

Yes. And the theme, there's one in Deer Toaster, too. I have a couple uncomfortable hard truths to share, and they'll be coming throughout the day.

00:01:22

I just want to say to you, they better be uncomfortable and they better be hard.

00:01:27

I'm so chronically online that my bar for what's considered crazy take is in the hell.

00:01:31

It's literally, I cuss a little. Yeah, right.

00:01:33

That's her. No, I actually think, especially my one, and I feel like... No, now I'm second-guessing myself. But I do feel like I have some crazy things to say today to three people.

00:01:43

Because I think the only thing worse than being mild is projecting like you're being so hot and spicy and still being mild.

00:01:52

We'll assess at the end of the episode, but my three- The level of spiciness, vice meter in Koji's corner. My three spicy takes are going to be directed towards. Okay. Ashley Tisdale, Amanda Seafreed, and one person in Deer Toaster.

00:02:05

Okay. Yeah. Spoiler alert. We have Deer Toaster today.

00:02:09

Yes, it is Tuesday, and we're starting off the year on track. We've got Deer Toaster.

00:02:14

I can't wait. I get some DMs once in a while. Oh, my God. I wrote into Deer Toaster last night when I was drunk. Please don't read it. Or we've made up. They listen to Toast. We're good. They listen to Toast. And so I just feel like the submissions are going to be spicy because people are already regretting them. That does happen sometimes. But by the way, if you did do that, we wouldn't read it.

00:02:35

Sometimes people will reply to their own email being like, Please don't read that. And it's unfortunate because I was about to choose it.

00:02:40

But we respect the sanctity of Deer Toaster. We're not trying to give you advice that you don't want anymore.

00:02:46

No, we would never put you on blast.

00:02:47

There are thousands of people who want their submission read.

00:02:50

It is honorable. I find honor in the fact that people get drunk and they think of us because people call their exes. It's like the person you love most in the world is who comes to mind. And we come to for people.

00:03:00

That's beauty. I love that. I do think it's a good policy. If you don't want your dear toaster's read, don't DM me. I might not see it. Follow up to your email. That's really good. Oh, yeah.

00:03:09

Do you know how many we got? If you send a rogue message, no. Follow up to the email. Beautiful. Safest way to stay safe out there.

00:03:16

Yeah, but don't be riding into your toaster and taking it back. Oh, yeah.

00:03:19

No, this is not a runway for you to be messy with your heart. It's an emergency measure. Yeah.

00:03:26

Messy with your heart. Okay, Kelsey.

00:03:28

Thank you. I don't know if you're going to get my reference because it was a messy year for the heart.

00:03:31

For your heart?

00:03:33

So messy. Was it? Yeah.

00:03:34

What'd you do?

00:03:35

A roller coaster of emotions, honestly.

00:03:37

That's true, but I wouldn't say messiness.

00:03:39

I would. Yeah, I would.

00:03:41

But messiness connotes- You don't want me to be messy, and I am.

00:03:45

I'm messy and spicy. You wish. I cuss a little. You wish. I am messy and spicy. Okay. You'll see.

00:03:54

I actually can't wait. Yeah. That was your first Monday of the year.

00:03:58

It was actually amazing. Yeah.

00:04:00

I was with you for most of it. Yeah. But we did split up and you went out to dinner.

00:04:03

I did. Salmon. That's why it was amazing. Maybe because I spent it with the ones that I love. But it was great. Gorgeous, gorgeous episode. So great to be back. I know everyone hates when we take time off, but it's always nice to come back because there's so much fan Fair. When you do a daily episode, as the days go on, it's not every episode is going to be like 100 million comments, 100 million views. So when we do come back, those are always a really highly engaged episode. We feel the love. We feel the love. And so, sorry, maybe we need to take more breaks just so we can feel more love.

00:04:30

Yeah. No, breaks are necessary. I'm glad that we took one. I'm glad that we're back. I am feeling the love for being back. Number two on Apple Comedy. Yeah, we're charting. Feels good. Feels really good. We don't hit number two on comedy all the time. Often. We're always top 10. Of This episode would be top 10. Top five. Yeah, but I'll give a little buffer. Yeah, yeah.

00:04:48

I'll give a little buffer.

00:04:49

But number two, you guys means the world to us. Thank you so much. Thanks to our fans. Especially when everyone's moving to Spotify to listen and watch. It's true.

00:04:56

The Apple charts don't really mean anything.

00:04:58

Yesterday, I always linked to episode on my stories, and I usually always do Apple, and then I say, watch on YouTube. Now I only have to do Spotify, listen or watch.

00:05:05

I have stopped linking to Apple a year ago. We are the frontline reporters on the podcasting, where people don't care about it as much as we do.

00:05:12

Nobody wants to hear about it, but we'll never stop telling you.

00:05:14

But over the years, we've slowly been reporting on Spotify's dream of being the number one place for podcast. And I feel like we never connoted, if that's the right word, that they did it.

00:05:26

Yeah. They are the place. They're at least 50 %. More.

00:05:29

It's the place. Share. Yeah. That's your update from the podcast streaming wars.

00:05:33

I was to say we are still number two on Apple, given the fact that we're barely promoted.

00:05:37

Yeah. It's just one of our lesser platforms. So what's it with you?

00:05:42

Not much. Wearing brown. My Monday, totally Mondayed yesterday. I'm starting off the year on the right foot. I love that. And now it's like 364 more of those.

00:05:52

Right. We are matching today just in terms of spirit.

00:05:58

Yeah, because we're both wearing It's a cream beige neutral. It's funny. I've noticed. I feel like every week for as long as I live, my week follows the same template where I start my Monday on my best foot. Tuesday, I'm not going to just go do a 180. Then by Wednesday, I'm like, Why didn't I dress more casually yesterday? I saw a girl wearing a sweatshirt and high socks. I'm like, I'm wearing that tomorrow. Then by Thursday, I'm like, Okay, pick it up. Then Friday, I'm so excited that it's Friday that I, again, want to put my best foot forward. I feel like I literally my The tone of my outfits every single day of the week is the same for every week throughout Herstery.

00:06:34

And I feel that because I podcast with you, I never know what to wear because if it were me, it would be like, merch and leggings all day, every day. But I do know sometimes you're going to wear a collared blouse with a gold button. So yeah, I have to wear my loft sweater. I can't just be wearing my Toast merch. So I feel like if I had a solo podcast, it would be really different.

00:06:51

It would be much cozier.

00:06:52

You're holding me back.

00:06:54

Well, just know, tomorrow, I'm going to get to the place in the week where I'm like, Why am I dressing so nice? Okay, great.

00:06:58

We need to just have a text that we send each other where it's fancy or homeless. What is the vibe today? Okay.

00:07:04

But those are too binary for me.

00:07:06

Yeah, Jackie doesn't operate in extreme.

00:07:08

I actually do, but not those two. I would say, polished or casual. It's just a nicer way. Fancy or homeless. Okay, that works for you. I prefer the term casual. Okay. Because it's like we're still doing hair and we're still doing makeup. Yeah. I don't know that those in the streets are still doing hair and makeup.

00:07:26

Are you familiar? There's so much actually TikTok drama I want to keep you updated on. So the OnlyFans girls are fighting. I know. Which the. With their titties out.

00:07:35

The Bop house?

00:07:37

No. So there's a girl who's a quit OnlyFans. Aren't you impressed?

00:07:41

I know the Bop house.

00:07:42

Yeah. And you know what? I don't even know what that is.

00:07:43

It's like the Hype house for OnlyFans creators. And so they get together to really maximize their audiences. They're making tons of money.

00:07:49

And do they create porn in the house?

00:07:51

Well, I imagine. I've not been to the house.

00:07:53

I've not consumed the content. You haven't subscribed.

00:07:55

But I imagine whatever they do on OnlyFans, maybe it's not porn, maybe it's more just a little titulating stuff. They're doing it together. Okay, so here- Rising ties, so you sell a shot.

00:08:06

I can help you. So there's a girl. She's a huge OnlyFans girl. What's her name?

00:08:08

I know her.

00:08:09

You don't? Her name is Camilla.

00:08:10

I do because she got with Alex Earle. Alex Earle.

00:08:13

Yeah, we reported on a story where she made a TikTok being like, I saw Alex Earle at Ultra, and she didn't want to say hi to me. And it turns out Alex Earle said, Hi, took a picture. Alex Earle doesn't know this girl and continued on hanging out with her friends. Like, literally Alex Earle did nothing wrong.

00:08:24

I've been seeing Camilla. She had a big Christmas party, and she's quitting OnlyFans.

00:08:27

She's quitting OnlyFans, and her next iteration is selling courses. And it's never good when you get to a place where you're selling online courses. She's teaching. How to win at social media. She has millions and millions of followers. And while that inherently isn't bad or wrong, the course costs between $2,000 and $6,000. Okay. Which is really crazy.

00:08:50

Did she take her top off?

00:08:52

No, it's not a nude class. It's completely covered. And so now all the other OnlyFans girls are making videos being like, You shouldn't to pay for a course. Here's everything I know about social media for a phrase. They're all taking the ethical high ground. And these are all like, porn stars, taking the ethical high ground. And now people, not even from the OnlyFans community, are getting involved, and she's just being like, shaded. And this actually wasn't one of my I see original takes, but I'm going to say it, too. Obviously, this is insane that she's selling $6,000 courses. But I just want to say, we need to just have a moment and hold space here for personal accountability. Anybody who paid $6,000 to take a course from a former OnlyFans model on how win at social media.

00:09:32

That's your money, and you're welcome to do with it what you want.

00:09:34

And if you're disgruntled about your purchase, I do blame you.

00:09:37

Yeah. Also, I would say her leaving the nude world.

00:09:42

She'd be applauded.

00:09:43

To become a teacher.

00:09:45

I'm going to support her. Yeah. She said she was able to make so much money. I think she paid off her parents' mortgage, this, yada, yada, grandma bought her house. And she did what she needed to do. It wasn't a long term thing. It was a means to an end. And I think we should be applauding her. I think so, too.

00:10:00

We actually read a book at the Redheads called Margot's Got Money Troubles, and just spoiler alert, it's about a single month. Have you heard about this? You tell me about it. It's about this girl. I didn't know anything about the book when I started reading it, but basically, she gets pregnant in college and starts an OnlyFans. The whole book is about her doing OnlyFans to eventually pay off certain things as a means to an end. She winds up creating an empire.

00:10:21

Of course she does. Media mogal.

00:10:24

Yeah. No, I think that sometimes it's just a moment in time, and then some people don't know how to quit because all that money, and they are making so much money. It's so addictive. It's so much. How do you turn down millions of dollars a month?

00:10:35

A month. Yeah, it's not like... Yeah, it's abnormal.

00:10:37

So she has my outroast respect, and I think I'll sign up for the course in solidarity.

00:10:42

Let me know what you find. Then the other TikTok term, I know you're going to love this. Actually, I meant to send it to you. You didn't send it to me. No, I didn't because I cannot continue to download and send. The storage on my phone, it's too much. I have to find this video. I won't tell you what you can do in it. Girl meets New York City Influencer. She's like, I'm an influencer. She told her story, and it was actually one of the crazier ones that I've seen. I really need to find it. What would I search? Okay, you know what? See, this is why you should have found it to me. Acquired Style. It's acquired? No. And so the girl wouldn't say who it was, and then everyone's like, It's Acquired style. And Acquired style was like, It wasn't me. And that's why it's like, I hated this video for a multitude of reasons.

00:11:25

Because she didn't name them, and now everyone's getting blamed.

00:11:27

Exactly. Okay, I can't find the video, but it was just this girl. She had like 100,000 followers, and she was like, I just saw a New York City influencer in the wild, and I went up to her. And she basically said... She's like, I didn't go up to her as a fan. I went up to her because we're in the same space. And I was just asking her questions about work and being a part of the same community as her. And she wasn't receptive to my questions. And she was mean girl. And she was like, I was not being a fan. I'm like... I think that's worse. She said, I'm her peer.

00:11:54

I think that's worse.

00:11:55

I'm her peer. And...

00:11:57

Just wanting free advice.

00:11:58

Right. And she didn't give me the attention, the time of day that was required and mean girl energy. And the comments were really divided of being like, Oh, this is why influencers are the worst. And other people were like, Girl, are you okay? What the fuck does this girl owe you? You're not her peer. She has 3 million followers. You have 100,000. Good for you. But you don't know her. I don't know why. Because influencing is a female dominated space, we're also supposed to open up, tell, I made this amount of money and come here and take my this. If any other business, it's called competitors. No one's going to just outright spread their legs and tell them everything that you know about the business. It was such a parasocial take. It was such a bad take being like, And this is why influencers are the worst.

00:12:38

Well, please share it with me. It sounds like she could benefit from Camilla's course. I feel like these two TikTok traumas cancel each other out. She's looking for how to win at social media. I have to watch it, but just when you start off with someone made a video complaining about an influencer interaction.

00:12:56

I'm almost always going to take the influencer side.

00:13:00

I feel like everyone else, when they see those videos, they're sat and they're ready to just sympathize with the person calling themselves a victim, but not me. I'm going to sympathize with the influencer. Really misunderstood.

00:13:12

The caption of the girl was like, yes, they didn't want to make any more friends.

00:13:16

Maybe not.

00:13:17

Who just goes up to people in the street and wants to make friends?

00:13:19

Yeah. I love how she- Found it, ready?

00:13:21

Found it.

00:13:21

I love how she thinks that... Let me watch it before. I just had my first experience with the- Can I watch? I needed her face.

00:13:27

But put the mic in the It went super viral. Actually made me want to cry. She wants to cry. I am someone who cries easily, and I have that feeling in my stomach that I'm trying not to cry. I'm not saying names or anything, but I just ran into this influencer that I just had the worst interaction with. I just moved to New York recently, and obviously, I'm also in the content creation space. And so when I run into other content creators or influencers out in New York, I I feel like for me, it's like I want to... I'm not really coming up them as a fan. I want to say hi to them. It's more like, Oh, we're in the same world. Maybe I'll see you at events, thing. I don't know. It's deranged. The look I got from this girl, the looking up and down, the me trying to ask her questions about her type thing and extremely one-sided. It sucks because I've seen her content for a while, and I thought she was a really nice person. Now, everyone is allowed to have off days. Oh, my gosh. I just want to cry.

00:14:38

That was awful.

00:14:39

She was in the asylum.

00:14:40

Yeah. And the comments were... It was refreshing to see- Let me read the comment. It It's very divided. Half people being like, Oh, mean girl energy. Some of you bitches have never met a mean girl, honestly, because the bar for what's considered a mean girl these days, someone who just doesn't eat your ass is so low. And then the other half were being like, This is a really mentally unwell take. If you say you're a person who doesn't cry easily, but this made you cry, I just feel like something's not adding up. The math isn't mathing.

00:15:07

Yeah, justice for required.

00:15:09

Well, then that's the other thing. When you don't name names, it leads people to be like, I feel like it was X. I feel like it was Y. Everyone was saying acquired style. She literally had to get in the comments and be like, Hello, this is not me. I'm sorry that this happened to you, but please leave me alone. Excuse me from this narrative, one in which I never asked to be a part of. To me, this is mean girl. The video went so viral. She has a platform, the girl who created the video. She has 100,000 followers. Oh, my God, I hate when people are like, I had a bad interaction with an influencer.

00:15:35

Even if all of those things happened, this person doesn't owe you anything. Yeah, maybe they could be kinder, but again, you're a stranger.

00:15:42

Literally, on the street.

00:15:43

Don't talk to strangers. Right. Stranger danger. Change your danger. But it's also a lot of her perception. She looked me up and down.

00:15:50

She was just moving her eyes.

00:15:51

Grain of salt. Yeah. Your eyes blink a thousand milliseconds.

00:15:56

A thousand % projection.

00:15:58

So no, that's a no for me. Yeah, agreed.

00:16:02

Team Acquired. That's what's going on on TikTok today.

00:16:04

It makes me so glad that I'm not on TikTok because those things are not real. No, they're not. That's not a real thing. Yeah. In terms of tangible things.

00:16:12

Things in the world, in the Earth.

00:16:14

That's not one of them. No. There's no they're there.

00:16:18

There is this obsession with New York City influencers, though. There's always these viral things. I'm obsessed. Remember when they said the New York City influencers are boring?

00:16:26

I'm obsessed.

00:16:27

So I'll continue to keep you abreast.

00:16:28

I do love influencer drama. I I don't know if our audience loves it as much as we do, but I can't- Oh, they do. I can't imagine who wouldn't love it.

00:16:35

Because it's literally high school, right? It's just the shit that happened in high school on a bigger level. I love influencer drama. I will never not subscribe. I feel like our listeners love influencer drama, too. I feel like we're always being asked, should I include more influencer stories? Here's my platform, once again, for news outlets to start writing it up because we can only report on the news that gets reported.

00:16:53

But so much of it is niche chronically online. It's like things that Arun said. What's the drama here? She looked her up down. Q-rack. So how can someone really write something like that?

00:17:03

What's the crime? What's the headline?

00:17:04

Right. Or like, so and so didn't like each other's photo. We all see it. We feel it, but it's hard to put to words when you know the girls are fighting. But what do we really know? And the way people fight these days, it's like no one unfollows each other. They don't block each other. They don't leave mean comments. It's just like a ghosting.

00:17:26

Yeah. Like a disappearing act.

00:17:30

Yeah. So that's the latest. I guess we should get into the stories.

00:17:37

We do have a lot to do.

00:17:38

We need to hear these spicy takes.

00:17:39

Now I'm realizing some of them are not spicy. Okay. My one about Ashley Chesnell is not spicy. I'm realizing that now.

00:17:46

So I just want to put that out there. But you're saying there's more spice to come?

00:17:49

Definitely.

00:17:49

Okay. Well, without further ado, here are the fast five stories that you need to know.

00:22:17

Our first story, I'm going to bump to the first. Ashley Tisdale is exposing her toxic celebrity mom group filled with, quote, mean girl behavior and high school-like isolation. So Ashley Tisdale, in the run-up in the last few weeks has been talking about leaving her toxic mom friend group.

00:22:34

Have you and I spoken about this on the toast? Because I know I explained the saga to you, but I can't remember if it was on Patreon.

00:22:38

I don't remember if it was Toaster Patreon, so why don't you just briefly explain it for those who were once like me.

00:22:44

So Ashley Tisdale posted a carousel of photos on TikTok, on Instagram, referencing a blog post that she had written on her website. And the blog post was titled, It's okay to Leave Your Toxic Mom Group. And it was just about how she had a mom group, and it turned a little bit like catty high school, people hanging out without one another, gossiping. She took her power back by leaving this group. Who gives a fuck, right? Cool. But it turns out people were very quick to realize that she was a part of this very celebrity mom group, where a bunch of moms, Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, some famous athletes, chefs, people I don't personally know, but impressive people who all had babies around the same time, I believe, during COVID. They became this cute little mom group. They had music classes at Hilary Duff's house, and they were always doing press. Mandy was on the Jennifer Hudson show talking about it. So we've known about this group. They take trips. They wear matching outfits.

00:23:31

It looks like Mom Talk. Yes. Elevated. What do they call it? Same, different accent.

00:23:36

Yeah, sure. Different font. Different font.

00:23:38

Yeah, accent.

00:23:39

Okay. It's like a Mom Talk. It's good to have mom friends. It's helpful.

00:23:44

They wear matching sweatsuits.

00:23:45

Exactly. They take trips to the Cape.

00:23:47

They do music class at Hilary Duff's house, but now Hilary- Megan Trehner is in it.

00:23:51

Sorry, I forgot about her.

00:23:52

Hilary was saying recently, now they do gymnastics together. Kids have grown up together and they've just become besties along the way.

00:23:57

It's been a fun thing for people to watch.

00:23:59

I think also a lot of people can relate to that because even regulars have mom friends, mom group.

00:24:04

And I guess, I haven't experienced this, but mom groups, any group of friends, not specific to moms, can turn toxic, just high school type of drama.

00:24:11

I think what makes it different is these are always going to be later in life friends. You make them when you have kids. So it's all of those dynamics from high school and stuff for the first time happening in a new friend environment because it's based on when you have your kids. You all of a sudden, you need someone who's kid before in the same month Yeah. Because you can relate.

00:24:32

So she posted her blog post. I'm sure it was the most traction her blog had ever seen. People were really eating this up because this picture that you have of them all wearing matching outfits has taken over Thanksgiving. And her blog post came out a little bit before Christmas. So it was like, we were just all hanging out wearing matching outfits. What happened on this girls trip?

00:24:49

Oh, that's really crazy.

00:24:50

So the internet went nuts. I'm sure this was great for Ashley's self, her business. Everyone was finally talking about her in a fun way. None of the other girlies responded or anything. And The situation did die. It was a fun internet thing for a couple of days. But then Ashley was a dog with a bone and would let it go. She wrote another article of the same theme, but she wrote it for the cut. So obviously, the cut saw this hot buzz issue. Ashley is in the Cut, wrote it again a couple of days ago. I don't know if it was the same article, but it was the same vibe. It's okay to leave your toxic friend group, people hanging out without you, yada, yada.

00:25:21

Yes. So this is what she said. She reflected on not feeling cool enough after being excluded from hangouts in the piece. She recalled sitting alone one night after getting her daughter to bed, feeling totally lost as to what she was doing wrong to be left out. She went on to text the group, This is too high school for me, and I don't want to take part in it anymore. Although she never considered the moms to be bad people, except for maybe one, she chose to cut ties with them after the dynamics of being healthy and positive. So I think most friend groups, how many women are here? It looks to be- 8. 8 to 10. And they would splinter off into subgroups of people who got along. And then I think people would get together, and she fell through the cracks. Because That happens to the person that you- Don't vibe with the most. Who's not your favorite.

00:26:06

Now, I don't know if you have the update. As of this morning, Ashley's... Because then the internet really started to speculate, this is such a big... You're making it such a big deal. What the fuck happened? Then a lot of people started to surmise that it was about politics and that Ashley is MAGA, and the girls dropped her because of that. Then Ashley's rep took to TMZ being like, Ashley is not MAGA. She's a registered Democrat, and this is not about this mom group that everybody thinks it is.

00:26:29

It's about a different mom group?

00:26:30

Now she's lying. There's no way it's not about this group. And because none of the girls have unfollowed anyone. But as you were just saying, fighting looks different these days. You don't unfollow. And I know that this... You know they had a chat without Ashley a while ago. I know that this chat without Ashley is blowing the fuck up, and they're so not regretting leaving her out. And the thing about, even before all of this drama, I was not going to be on Ashley's side because I always feel that if a whole group drops you, you're the problem. The group is not the problem. No, that's not... That's a generalization, not like... That's a generalization. Not every situation. But for the most part, if everyone says you're dead, roll over.

00:27:07

And there's not a good way to go about saying, We don't like...

00:27:12

We don't enjoy you. You know what I mean? It's our viral sound. Click's going to click. No, but- Normalize having a click and normalize not everybody being best friends. This is in high school.

00:27:21

No, but normalize not pursuing close friendships with people that you don't deeply connect with and that you don't enjoy. I've met people where I'm like, You're lovely person. I don't enjoy spending the time with you, and I'm not going to invest in that. Yeah.

00:27:36

And I think when people make comparisons to high school, when we're talking about being clicks in high school, we're still developing, right? And so it is the right, you should be inclusive of other people, and you should reach out, and you should be kind. But now we're all 30-year-old women. It's exactly that. They're moms. They work. They have full lives. Pursuing friendships just to be nice is really not what 30-year-old women are doing. There's no time for that. There's no time for that. And so I I don't know. I'm just getting the vibe based on Ashley's behavior right now and the fact that everybody dropped her, that she is insufferable.

00:28:06

Yeah. Or not even insufferable, but just not the funniest, funniest, coolest. Yeah. And so she feels uncool.

00:28:15

No, I think it's more than that because, yes, in big groups- And I think that there's someone that would then go, one, first text the group and be like, I can not be doing this anymore, and then write two articles.

00:28:25

Maybe they were right in their sections. Correct.

00:28:27

The thing is with big groups, people splinter her off. So it's not a big deal that two or three people hang out. You connect with different people. But the fact that everybody was wanting to not hang out with her just makes me think that there's something a little bit deeper and more sinister going on because it's not like one or two people were really tight with her.

00:28:45

No, I don't think there's something deep and sinister or something happened. I think she's the woat.

00:28:51

No, that's what I'm saying. But in big groups, yes, people splinter off. But the fact that nobody splintered off with her, she sucks.

00:28:59

Yes, she sucks, but not something deeper than that.

00:29:01

No, nothing happened. But it sounds like she sucks. And also, there's a group of people who are leaving me out. She said she reached out a couple of times when she thought people were hanging out without her and everybody was like, Wait, I thought Sarah texted you or whatever. They would gaslight her, which is so fucked up. I'm sorry. What else are you supposed to do? We don't like you.

00:29:20

We didn't want to invite you. There's not an easy way to say to someone, I don't want to spend this time with you.

00:29:24

And so if I was a part of a group of friends that I found out were not wanting to hang out with me, I mean, we're just different people. I would never... You would just never fucking see me again.

00:29:34

You would never see me again.

00:29:34

I would be humiliated, first of all. And second of all, I have no interest in hanging out with people that do not want to hang out without me. And that's just been my vibe my whole life.

00:29:43

I don't want you to change your behavior and start remembering to include me. No.

00:29:46

And then I'm being included in this charity. I'm good. I will make new friends. I will move to a new city. That's just me. So the way that she's gone about handling this is so the opposite of what I would do. Not only texting everyone that you're leaving. It's not an airport. You don't need to announce your departure. We're fine. But also then writing multiple articles and using it for attention. This is not a good look for Ashley French, whatever her new name is, Tisdale French.

00:30:07

It's not cool in... You know people say not cool, not cool. Yeah. That's not what I mean.

00:30:14

It's not A cool thing to do.

00:30:16

And I think- It's not two separate words. It's not cool.

00:30:20

I think when she first wrote it, it was under this mask of female empowerment. Like, telling- It's your power back. Telling other women, maybe you also find yourself caught in a toxic cycle with this mom group. You can leave. It's like a reminder. It's how I feel like, Oh, you don't like your double chin? Get liposuction. It's a reminder. You don't have to live with this toxic thing. And now I'm feeling like that was just a veil, and she's just wanting to start stuff and be a victim.

00:30:43

And I can understand how when you go back to evaluating whether people are cool or not, that that feels like high school because we haven't done that since high school.

00:30:53

But that's a projection. Nobody said she wasn't cool. She just didn't feel cool enough.

00:30:56

Because she wasn't invited.

00:30:58

She wasn't invited. Yeah, right.

00:30:59

And the thing is, there are less cool groups.

00:31:02

Yeah, like Z-listers, the Z-list moms. I'm in that group. Invite me.

00:31:07

Yeah. So yes, anytime we're evaluating your coolness, that's mean girl. That's high school mean girl behavior. Sure. It's also human nature, I guess. Yeah. Because you don't want to spend your time with someone that you don't connect with, especially at this stage in life.

00:31:23

Especially with your kids. It's so personal.

00:31:25

And some people have mom energy. I've experienced this before where I'm like- What's mom energy? No, no. Their energy as a mother is not mine. Of course. And I'm like, Oh, no, I don't want to be around this.

00:31:35

Yeah, of course. It's so personal who you decide to be friends with later in life while also incorporating your children.

00:31:40

It's just unfortunate that nine out of the 10 celebrities who had children May 2020 are all of the same elk and mom energy, and the one is not. If only she had a buddy. Yeah.

00:31:54

And I'm saying the fact that she didn't have a buddy is the biggest red flag here. Not one person who stood up for her as far as we know.

00:32:00

I'm sure someone did. I'm sure there was someone, and then Hilary Duff was like, no.

00:32:04

Yeah. Hilary Duff runs the show, and Mandy Moore is second in command. The rest just followed. Megan Trader is like, Okay, what time are we meeting?

00:32:11

Just so you know, the Tiz no longer follows Hilary Duff and Andy Moore, and she does still follow Megan Treanor, so you're 100% right.

00:32:20

Oh, so Megan was the one that's like, Guys, can't we all work it out?

00:32:23

They're like, Shut up, Megan. You're too nice. Yeah, right.

00:32:26

Oh, my God. Megan. No, this has been such a... Okay, So was my take spicy at all?

00:32:31

No, but I don't know what the streets... If the streets are being really sympathetic towards her.

00:32:35

I feel like people are going to say that we're being mean.

00:32:38

I don't think we're being mean. I haven't said a mean thing. I just said...

00:32:42

We did say she sucks.

00:32:44

I'm like, Is it and not cool in a traditional sense. But she's obviously cool. She's in high school musical. She's a celebrity.

00:32:50

She was cool enough to be a part of the group.

00:32:52

I looked at her page yesterday. I haven't seen what she's up to in a while. She garden. She's got it all going on. She's a beautiful kitchen and house and family. She's a beauty company. A beauty company. She's crushing it. But on a personality level, when it's not a match at this stage in life, oh, no, no, no.

00:33:08

Yeah. And I do feel like the women who were making the decision as to whether or not to include her. The Hilary Duff. Yeah. They are sleeping soundly knowing that was the right decision because she's shown a little bit of a crazy side.

00:33:18

And you know that Hilary Duff is the leader in this group because the music classes were at her house.

00:33:22

Well, we know it for a multitude of reasons. She's the most famous.

00:33:26

She's the coolest one. I don't know who these other people are, but someone could be a billionaire here.

00:33:31

For sure. But like, Fame, they all live in LA. Fame is the most important thing to everyone. So her and Mandy Moore, but I think Mandy Moore doesn't care as much. I could see Hilary Duff being a little obsessed with the group. I just feel like Mandy Moore is the cool one who just cares very little.

00:33:46

Yeah, and she's a little bit older. Correct.

00:33:48

She's a little bit too mature for this.

00:33:50

So she's a little more removed.

00:33:52

It just makes me realize- Definitely this girl. I need a celebrity mom group. I need a celebrity mom group.

00:33:58

Okay. What about me?

00:34:01

Yeah, it's just like- We need more celebrities. Who's not a group? Who had a baby around a similar time? Shannon, of course.

00:34:07

Oh, yeah.

00:34:07

Actually, we do. The Taylor's now. Lauren. Lauren. Yeah, we do.

00:34:10

We do. But it's like- We start a group chat. I feel like watching the We have a group chat called celebrity moms. Okay, wait.

00:34:18

Let's see. Because I know a lot of our friends listen to The Toast, and this will be a test.

00:34:23

Who listens? But I think all celebrity mom groups also have a couple of normal people. Yeah, of course.

00:34:28

No, we have to throw Dana in there. Yeah, of course. She's our normie.

00:34:31

But wait, hold on. She has a podcast, so she's a celebrity.

00:34:34

Oh, true. Wait, I was just going to say one thing.

00:34:37

Let's see which of our friends listen. No, before that. Who else do you want to invite to our group? And it's just a group chat at this point.

00:34:42

The Kardashian's made me realize that we don't have enough group chats.

00:34:45

Yeah, I agree. So it's a group chat at this point. And then maybe if it really takes off, we could go on a trip.

00:34:52

Oh, my God. I would love that. What's the name of our group?

00:34:55

Celebrity Mom's.

00:34:57

Love it. Should I start it right now?

00:34:59

Yeah. And you I'm going to be the ones to start. You're Hilary Duff. And I'm Mandy Moore.

00:35:02

You're so Mandy Moore. Okay, so Shannon.

00:35:05

Who's Ashley Tisdale? We'll find out.

00:35:08

Stay tuned. Jackie, Olivia. Who else? Should we do this later?

00:35:13

Yeah. Lauren, Elizabeth. With them, we could also... I know which moms had babies when I... You might talk to people on Instagram who had a baby when you did.

00:35:22

I do.

00:35:22

Like Lauren Elaina.

00:35:24

Lauren Elaina. She's a mom friend. We had babies the same day.

00:35:26

Yeah. It's funny. I have fellow influencers who I had babies the same time as who like Raven.

00:35:31

Okay, you know what? We need to chat offline because now it's getting a little big. Not to be like Hillary Tom, but we are going to need to...

00:35:38

Yeah.

00:35:39

Yeah.

00:35:40

Yeah. Slavery moms. Yeah. Okay, well, good luck, Ashley Tisdale. I do hope that the right Mom group finds you. Yeah. And also, so she has two kids, one who's four. That's the group. That's how she got into this group. But she also has a one-year-old. So maybe the friends she makes through her one-year-old's group.

00:35:56

Yeah. Or her forever family. Right. Yeah.

00:35:59

Right. That's beautiful. But this has been fun, so thank you.

00:36:02

I'm glad that you were into this saga.

00:36:06

Yeah.

00:36:06

I was following it closely, and then it got political, and I was like, Oh, girl, get me out of here.

00:36:10

And I really don't think... I can't imagine that it's about politics. I have more faith in humanity than that, that women can get along in and agree on everything. Agreed. But on its face, writing two articles about how you left the group is not the cool capital C thing to do.

00:36:28

No. Someone in our mom group would never.

00:36:30

No, she would never. Oh, but we have to be aware of that. I don't know.

00:36:32

I feel like Shannon would. No kidding.

00:36:35

Are you ready for our next story? Tom braided and Alex are all update. Tmz is reporting that though the couple sparked a lot of buzz over New Year's Eve in St. Bart's. There was no hookup. So TMZ initially broke the story of the video obtained of the two of them flirting in the club. But sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ the moment was nothing more than drunk, flirty fun at the party. They're told Tom and Alex talked, dance, and flirted on the dance floor, and that's where it ended. No hookup, no late night rendezvous. And for the fact, they're told it was the first time they'd ever met.

00:37:06

Yeah, I feel like I would have guessed that. I don't know. Someone from one of their camps clarified, and it was like, I feel like it was probably Tom braided because this was, for the most part, really positive fanfare for Alex, but it made Tom look like a creep, an old man. And so I think that the clarification came from his camp because letting people think you had sex with Tom Breedy, there's no sweat off of Alex's back, even if you didn't. But As an almost 50-year-old, letting the internet think that you had sex with a 25-year-old on vacation when you didn't does require clarification.

00:37:36

I actually think the opposite. Of course you do. I think that Alex- You are literally Ashley Tisdale. I think that Alex didn't want to be thought of to be with this old man in that way. For him, he's 48 dating 25-year-olds. Is a slay.

00:37:51

It's gross. Well, I think maybe someone would think it's a slay, but the reaction online was not positive.

00:37:58

Frontal lobe, check.

00:37:59

Beauty, check. You know she turned 25 a week ago. I think she was celebrating her birthday on that.

00:38:03

She was celebrating the lobe.

00:38:05

Yeah.

00:38:06

I think that for a man like him, that's what he's here to do now in his life. And I also think he has got a lot going on in his mind with the football and retirement and feeling old. And this makes him feel young. And this makes him look young, he thinks.

00:38:19

I think that it also was just bad timing because we didn't even talk about the same week that this story came out, Giselle and her man got married. They had the baby, and then I think they had a small little ceremony to officially get married. So it's like they could not be doing more different things after their marriage. So it really did not make him look good, this whole thing.

00:38:37

But also, he hooked up with Brooks Nader. This is his type of- Yeah, but Brooks is 29.

00:38:43

I don't know why. Brooks feels so more mature.

00:38:45

It's because we met Alex when she was in college. Right.

00:38:48

She's eternally a teenager. Yeah. I agree. And she represents Gen Z.

00:38:52

I just want you to know, I think for Tom Reedy, this is everything he's looking for.

00:38:56

She's going to date Leo next. Victoria Carretti, pack your bags. Your time is up. You are the weakest leg.

00:39:02

Goodbye. No, but I hope not. No, me neither. And I feel like for her, she's not interested in old men, I feel.

00:39:09

Okay, because what nobody's saying is it's yucky, like saggy old men. Who wants to lay with that?

00:39:14

Especially She went like, not saying other women have other intentions, but she's a self-made woman. She doesn't need any money. She doesn't need any attention. She's got it all going on. So that's when you got your pick of the litter.

00:39:31

Who do we see her with next? I personally am over-athlete for her, and I'm not ever someone who's shipping people with athletes, with the exception of a couple of people. They don't make good boyfriends. It's fun content for a little while, but I just don't like it. I think that she's very Barstool smoke show, so I think that she thinks she has to date an athlete, but I want her to know there's opportunities elsewhere, and I don't want this for her.

00:39:56

There's other industries. I'd really have to noodle on it. But I think that whoever she dates next, it'll be beautiful in its own way. That's really lovely. Glenn and Michelle have taught me that I can't predict anything, that I have to let the universe let things play out.

00:40:14

What about Zac Efron?

00:40:16

I'll always ship everyone with Zac Efron. I know.

00:40:18

I watched The Greatest Showman over the weekend in your house, but you literally did not come out of your bedroom. So I don't even know if you knew that I watched- I did. The Greatest Showman in full on your couch.

00:40:26

I didn't know that you watched the whole thing. I was enjoying a contact nap.

00:40:28

It had been a while I've seen that movie, and obviously, it stands the test of time. It's the greatest movie ever made. But there's a couple of things that happened in that movie that are so fucking crazy. Now, I know we all love the most popular song. It's When the shop is where it's want to come down. And not enough people talk about what proceeds that song in the movie, which is the group of freaks being fucking crazy.

00:40:49

And storming.

00:40:50

They storm the opera party, the high class affair. There were literally Hugh Jackman's employees, and they're thinking that they deserve to go to the opera. And they were acting so out of control with the free champagne and everything. It was just insane. And they had a show.

00:41:05

So they had to work. It was the 1800s. You're even applying a modern- No, I'm not.

00:41:11

I'm just saying, strictly in a workplace situation. You are Hugh Jackman in place. Hugh Jackman's other business is having a high class affair. You are literally supposed to be on stage, but you're storming acting inappropriate, literally tackling people for champagne. That's the time. And mind you, you also have a beard. It's just... It was insane.

00:41:44

And so then they leave- You're not the most conventional. No.

00:41:47

Then they get kicked out, rightfully so, because they have to go to work. They're in this dark corridor being like, When the sharpest words want to cut me down. It's like, Girl, get out of here. She was so wrong for that. And I just feel like the song on a life of its own in culture as anybody who's never not fit in. But this wasn't a case of not fitting in. This was a case of workplace disgruntled employees. Yeah, I agree. I just feel like that needed to be said after watching the movie with a pair of fresh eyes. And also Zendaya should not have ended up with Zac Efron. What he did to her was so bad. Being ashamed to be seen with her. Oh, my God, I could never.

00:42:18

Those two. That storyline in the movie never did it for me. Rewrite the Stars never did it for me. But it did it for a lot of people, and I feel like it brought a lot of people into the movie. So I'll accept.

00:42:30

I've often said that Jenny Lind, I thought she was miscast, and I stand by that. But I also feel like Michelle Williams should not have been in that movie. What was she doing?

00:42:39

Why do you feel like Jenny Lind was miscast?

00:42:41

Because when I see that woman, I know she's not singing.

00:42:44

Do you know what I mean? Oh, because you know she's not singing.

00:42:46

I didn't even know that she wasn't singing. I didn't know the whole story about Lauren Allred. Why not just get the one who can sing? Well, of course. But even if you're not... I just knew when I saw the movie, I'm like, You're not singing. I love Jenny. You're not a woman who sings. Even her mannerisms when she was singing, I'm like, A person who sings doesn't move like that.

00:43:01

Oh, my God. I have no issues with Jenny.

00:43:03

I sing.

00:43:03

I know. I do agree with you about Michelle Williams, but she holds it down.

00:43:08

She was fine.

00:43:10

Yeah.

00:43:11

But it's a perfect movie.

00:43:13

It's so amazing. Yeah. And so Zack Efron and Alex are like, no. Oh, right. That's how we got here. What about Jacob Alorty, Unemployed?

00:43:20

Uninspired choice.

00:43:21

Unemployee of the Year.

00:43:22

Unemployee-er-dy. No, uninspired.

00:43:24

When you think of actors of her generation, it's Jacob and Austin.

00:43:28

I don't want that for her. That's so unoriginal.

00:43:31

I agree.

00:43:32

What else? Maybe someone in business. Yeah.

00:43:35

Someone who's a famous business person that we wouldn't think of. But it's hard. They're not so young.

00:43:40

Right. Or attractive.

00:43:42

Looks don't matter.

00:43:44

To you?

00:43:45

No, in general. I agree, actually.

00:43:47

Money matters more.

00:43:49

Then personhood. Right.

00:43:51

Status.

00:43:52

Your soul. I don't even see people's looks. I just want... And maybe I'm just so evolved. But Like, once I know you, I only see who you are.

00:44:01

Okay, so on a personal level, I don't see people's looks. I really don't. In media, I see everyone. You see them. I've got 20/20 vision.

00:44:08

Who they really are.

00:44:09

Which is ugly.

00:44:10

Yeah. I understand. I guess I'm just more involved.

00:44:12

Yeah, for sure. It is what it is. Yeah.

00:44:14

Are you ready for our next story? Amanda Saferead is being weird. Again. She thought Timothée Chalmet, shout out to Kylie Jenner, was for an actual foundation, she says.

00:44:25

Okay, sorry.

00:44:26

You go. So someone posted a clip of Timothée saying what he said to Kylie.

00:44:31

Which I've watched now a hundred times since then.

00:44:33

I love you. Thank you for our foundation. And she commented saying, Oh, not like a foundation/charity. I was curious about that.

00:44:42

So this reminded me, and I actually sent you this story because I wanted to talk about it, because I know you don't know this, but over the December shows, I recently became obsessed with this memory that I had. Do you remember? We reported on it. We were probably the only people to report on it when Amanda Seaford woke up one day and decided to cyber bully Ariel Charnas. I remember that that happened the other day. And then I was talking about On The Toast, and actually, I made a TikTok about it, and Ariel commented, Yeah, that was really crazy. They had no personal connection. They did not know each other.

00:45:09

And all of a sudden- What was she on her case about?

00:45:13

It was about working out, bouncing back after pregnancy. Ariel Charnis has actually been really open about the fact that she's just naturally skinny. She works out, but she eats fine. It just works her. And Amanda Seyfried commented, oh, I think actually it was a picture that Ariel Charnis posted about how she's so proud of her beautiful body. Her body's given her three babies. It was a beautiful thing. And also Amanda Seyfried and her don't know each other. And then Amanda Seyfried commented, it's easy to have it when you have money and nannies. First of all, are you homeless? You also have money and nannies. Like, chill. Second of all, leave Ariel Charnis alone.

00:45:51

Amanda Seyfried is the voice of the people, don't you know?

00:45:53

Not my people, not any people that I know. And so I wanted to choose a story and one of my unsavory, spicy things that I wanted to I feel like it's taking me a while to come to this because it's been a couple of things. This Ariel Charnis thing, which I never forgot about. I'm still at the restaurant. Then a couple of weeks ago, she was doing Press for the Housemaid and this clip of her on like, CBS Good Day, Morning with Gail.

00:46:13

In CBS.

00:46:14

Good morning. Hello to you, CBS. Hello. Gail's morning cup of coffee. Went viral. She was being so weird, just weird, quirky, weird. And then this, I just wanted to make it known because I feel like I always make it known when I don't like someone. I officially really don't like Amanda Seyfried. I feel like if I met her, she would fucking hate me. Right back. She would hate you. She would hate me. I hate her. And I've just seen a lot of things from her, and I think she's insufferable. A lot of it has to do with her online persona.

00:46:43

And what's Minji?

00:46:44

So that's the other thing.

00:46:45

I feel like she hides behind Minji.

00:46:47

This screenshot went viral of her comment, and her username is @mingey. So I was like, why does everybody care about this random troll? Seriously, who cares? And then I forget, maybe Liz Wood posted that it was Amanda Seyfried. I was like, Oh, yeah, that is her. And that was her username when she became for Ariel Charnis, too.

00:47:04

Okay, what does Minjee, her being Minji reminds you of?

00:47:09

Michi Torres from Camp Rock.

00:47:10

Oh, no. No, no, no. Like, her being Minji is like another celebrity being.

00:47:17

Bad Galerie, right?

00:47:18

No.

00:47:21

It's going to come to me.

00:47:22

Let me know.

00:47:23

We call them by their username?

00:47:25

No, we don't call them. It's like they just behave differently. Their Instagram is like their person. Alter Ego. With a different name. Who? Vansity Reynolds.

00:47:34

Thousand %. This is so Vansity of her. This is so Vansity. Yeah, because when Vansity is on his Vansity shit, he's verbally abusing his wife on social media in the name of comedy, whereas Ryan Reynolds would never do that. Yeah, I agree. It's a terrible alter ego. Minji is a troll. Whereas Vansity Reynolds- It sounds like a troll. Van City-Reinds exclusively uses that username to troll his wife. Right. Whereas Minji uses her username to troll people in media.

00:47:57

Yeah. So do you want to break down the comment or not?

00:48:00

No, it's also not a good funny take. It's like a dumb.

00:48:03

Right. Either you really thought he was talking about the foundation that he started with Kylie Jenner.

00:48:09

But anyone who has a firm grip on the English language would know he was talking to a person because he says, To my foundation, It's like, okay, yes, for a half a second, you could think he's talking about the Red Cross. But then he goes, I love you. He was talking to a person. Oh, and then they cut to Kylie and she says, I love you back.

00:48:25

That's sad on that.

00:48:26

Actually, if she actually thought this, I do worry for her.

00:48:31

That's-aprehension.

00:48:31

Because I don't know how somebody could memorize enough lines to be in a movie but not understand this one offhand remark. She's trying to be funny. It's not landing. I'm just finding her annoying recently. She's on my list. Just so you know, being on my list is not a permanent thing. Most people don't get off, but it is possible.

00:48:46

Oh, yeah. All the time. Sam Hunt.

00:48:49

So there's one. Selena Gomez was on my list. I took her off, and now she's way back on it.

00:48:52

She's on and off again.

00:48:54

No, but I feel like she's pretty on permanently now. But there is historical proof of people being off the list.

00:49:00

Yeah.

00:49:00

So maybe if Amanda Seyfried would just be quiet, she could get off the list. Yeah. I need to see the housemate.

00:49:05

Me as well. And I think with the movie coming out, there's just a lot of Amanda Seyfried. So maybe after that, there'll be less. Are you ready for our fourth story?

00:53:48

Thank you. My pleasure.

00:53:50

Take you to Aspika.

00:53:51

So I was meaning to ask you, is it painful for you when I flub my words during the ads? Because I can't.

00:53:58

You can't make fun of me. Yeah, that was a really rough run.

00:54:00

I know. And I was thinking, I'm like, it was bringing me joy knowing that you couldn't.

00:54:04

That I can't stop you. However- You can't stop the beat. Making fun of word flubs does not bring me as much joy as it brings me. As it brings me, yeah. You don't let anyone get away with anything. Minor infractions, You love it.

00:54:15

No, I'll make a feast off of it for years. Yeah.

00:54:18

So I mean, parced.

00:54:20

Parced.

00:54:21

That tells of me. Yeah. Let's get into our fourth story. Parced was all of you, by the way. Yeah, that's where we got our ears parced. Our Ariana Grande is going viral for adorably fan girling over Layton Meester in a must-see moment at the Critics Choice Awards. Now, I want to get your take on it.

00:54:37

Do I think Layton was making fun of her?

00:54:39

Sort of. Do you think there was anything remotely unkind in Layton's response? So they just crossed paths on the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards. Ari sees Layton and she goes, Oh my God, big fan. Wow, wow, wow. We know that Ari is a millennial to her core, and she obviously love Gossip Girl. Of course. Then Layton sees her say that, and she just says to the person that's sitting next to her- Her publicist. Wow, wow, wow. She just echoed that. I don't want to say mimic, imitate. Echoed. What was in Layton's heart? How could we ever know?

00:55:12

I can't get a read on Layton Meester as a person. I think that's hard when you play such an iconic character. Everybody thinks she's like, Blair. Like, Blair would do this.

00:55:19

She's not Blair.

00:55:20

It's disappointing how little like, Blair she is. She hates Blair. She hates Blair. She would never... I feel like Layton is a Communist. You know what I mean? And not that I know anything about her personal politics. I just mean, like, Blair was so capital. Exactly. So I just think that they're polar opposites. I don't know if she was making fun of Ariana Grande. I can't imagine that she would be that stupid in front of cameras, in front of Ariana. Ariana is still three feet from her. I also The story is eating up the internet. I personally don't care. Do you know what I mean? The Critics Choice Awards, I don't know, I have beef with.

00:55:51

Yeah, I don't have beef with them. I'm happy that there's more awards for people- To receive. To receive and to...

00:55:58

Make speeches about their partner for three years.

00:56:00

And the Critics Choice Awards gave us that. And I will always love the Critics Choice Awards for that. An instance like this, it is impossible for us to know what's in Layton's heart. It could have gone so many different ways. And I think projecting any ill intent onto it is how things get misconstrued. It goes back to the influencer, and she looked me up and down.

00:56:21

The farmer and the dough.

00:56:22

So I also don't know Layton in a personal way. I agree with you. She's not what you assume that she's going to be.

00:56:28

Right. She's Yeah.

00:56:31

And I don't know what she is, but I know what she isn't. And she isn't Claire.

00:56:36

Yeah. There's two routes to take when you play an iconic character. And I feel like she's... Okay, so on one side is being obsessed, leaning in all the time. Very much like what Miley's doing with Hannah right now. But she had her journey to get there.

00:56:49

After years of rejecting Hannah. Right.

00:56:51

And then there's people who run from the thing. They don't want to be asked about it, impressed. They don't reference it, yada, yada.

00:56:56

Reference or not reference.

00:56:57

Correct. So if I feel like if Hannah Montana is on the right, over here, and on the left, who's somebody who never...

00:57:04

Who hates.

00:57:05

Who hates the thing that they did. I would just say I feel like Layton's center left.

00:57:11

Agreed.

00:57:12

She doesn't hate Blaire, but she's not excited by it. She doesn't want to...

00:57:15

She doesn't go on Instagram and post Blaire quotes as her caption.

00:57:19

She'll answer the question if she gets asked to get an interview, but I know her publisher is telling the people- She tolerates Blaire. The publisher is being like, let's not...

00:57:25

Not focus on God. Yeah.

00:57:27

That's not what we want from our Our beloved characters, but she's a human being, and that's how she's working through it, and it is what it is. I also feel like there's a lot that went on on Gossip Girl, behind the scenes. But I was meant to say, I read this in a TikTok comment, so take it with the grain of salt. But somebody said that, Wow, wow, wow, is a Blaire Waldorf reference, and then they were doing Blaire.

00:57:49

So Ariana was doing Blaire. So you were saying in that split second, she knew- That's just what somebody said. But I also feel like Ariana is a reference queen, much like us.

00:57:59

Jennifer Coolidge.

00:58:00

No, but I feel like she knows all the quotes.

00:58:03

No, she's always quoting Jennifer Coolidge, big time magazine editor.

00:58:06

She has seven rings music video everything. And she's so swirly in that sense.

00:58:11

Yes.

00:58:12

So that could be a Blaire-ism.

00:58:15

I don't know how it is, and I just rewatched Gossip Girl, but...

00:58:18

Unfortunately, we all have to just let this go. We can't assign any malice to it or even any positivity.

00:58:26

I don't have proof either way. I also, I don't know, I just don't I care about this one. I can't explain it.

00:58:33

Yeah. Okay.

00:58:35

You know? Maybe she did.

00:58:38

You think?

00:58:38

Maybe she didn't.

00:58:40

But why would she be mean about Ariana Grande being excited to see her? She's literally on a red carpet.

00:58:45

Not only does that make sense. She was calling her beautiful. Not only does that make no sense, but also why would she do it in front of Ariana? Why does she wait till you're in the car and then make fun of her?

00:58:53

Yeah. I mean, but you're on a red carpet. That's when you're prepared for all of that. I could imagine on the sidewalk, it's like, Oh, don't look at me.

00:59:00

Yeah.

00:59:00

On the red carpet, that's what we came here for.

00:59:03

Okay, devil's advocate. Well, the opposite. Angels advocate. I don't think that Layton Meester is a mean girl, but I also don't think she's hella friendly. Yeah. So I don't know. I could see her. I don't know. If I talk I have this long enough, I'll just end up believing that she was saying. And I actually don't. I don't.

00:59:18

No.

00:59:18

I think it's like nothing. It's a nothing word.

00:59:20

Why would she be mad about the fact that Arie was like, wow, wow, wow?

00:59:23

Right. And yes, Layton and Adam Birdy are having a moment, and they're famous. But Ariana Grande is one of the biggest stars in the world. So you would be excited that she's I did. Yeah. Only a crazy person wouldn't.

00:59:32

I agree.

00:59:33

If I had my gavel, I would say officially nothing burger.

00:59:36

Yeah. No time served.

00:59:39

We should bring our gavels back.

00:59:41

I don't know. I feel like we're so evolved.

00:59:43

No, not to bang them, but we have these shelves behind us with like, hardy stuff.

00:59:46

This is part of our history.

00:59:47

Do you know where they are?

00:59:49

Probably your studio.

00:59:50

Oh, okay.

00:59:51

Are you ready for our fifth and final story? Mm-hmm. Something that I predicted. The Year of the Crack. Vogue says that 2026 is going to be the Year of the Crack. Now, I said I noticed a- You did.

01:00:01

Jackie literally said six months ago.

01:00:03

I said, Cracks are in. Cracks are coming in.

01:00:05

It was like Milan Fashion Week or something.

01:00:07

Yeah, I said, Crack is the new cleavage, and now Vogue is saying that as well. Now everyone hears it. When I said it, I'm crazy.

01:00:15

No, it's actually so crazy that you predicted this. And if I ever felt like I wasn't relating to my fellow man, this just cements that even further.

01:00:23

Do you feel the urge to show crack? Like a little A window in your pant.

01:00:31

You know that I don't.

01:00:32

A little the window. Show a little crack.

01:00:36

No.

01:00:36

Crack is beautiful.

01:00:38

Crack is beautiful. Crack is actually whack. It is. And I won't be doing crack. I won't be showing crack. I will not be engaging in crack behavior. And now I guess she's on crack.

01:00:49

Yeah. Even the references that they have here of the cracks on the runway, the cracks on the red carpet.

01:00:56

So there's only one reference.

01:00:58

Haley Bieber in the But that's Thong, not crack.

01:01:01

Exactly.

01:01:02

So if we're going to get cracky- We do not see her crack.

01:01:05

Oh, that wasn't even the one I was talking about, the Meccala.

01:01:07

The one at the Meccala. And that's a couple of years ago.

01:01:09

It's a really, really low back dress that does not show her crack. But where her crack would be, there's a little fake thong. Thong. Yeah, it was so gorgeous.

01:01:17

This is crack.

01:01:19

Zoe Kravitz at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. That's not crack. That's tushy.

01:01:24

Her whole ass is out. This is crack realized.

01:01:26

I just feel like I'm trying to be positive here. So if it is, in fact, the Year of the crack, I don't know, even the sexiest person in the world, I don't want to see your ass. I just don't. Man, woman, child, I don't care.

01:01:39

Yeah. It's private parts.

01:01:41

You wrecked. And I think this is another one of my spicy takes in 2026. Let's keep our private parts private. Okay. I don't want to see your ass. I don't want to see your nipples unless you're breastfeeding. And then I want to see them all. I don't want to see your coochy, your hoochy, your penis, your balls. Keep it to yourself.

01:01:57

Okay. I mean, I think that's a very It's a standard take. It's the story of Adam and Eve.

01:02:04

Yeah. Put some leaves over your titties, girl. Get out of here. Yeah.

01:02:08

So 2026 is the year of a crack. Tag us if you're wearing your crack out.

01:02:13

And I'm sure I was thinking it was the year of the dragon. I'm just so crazy. Are you ready for Dear Toaster? I am. Our weekly advice segment where Jack and I just do our best to help our community. I feel like our community is always showing up for us. And on Tuesdays, we like to show up for them.

01:02:27

In addition to doing the most amazing show. Of course. Make you laugh.

01:02:30

Amazing merch that never shows up. That's not true. It just takes a couple of weeks.

01:02:37

Some people have had bad experiences.

01:02:38

But overall, thousands are fine. We're sorry about that. We're actually working on.

01:02:43

No, it makes us sick.

01:02:44

And if you want to be mad at somebody, be mad at the Postmaster General.

01:02:47

When it gets lost in shipping, really, whose fault is that?

01:02:50

Yeah. And also, I do want you to think about blaming President Xi. It's a lot of him, too, because a lot of things are happening in China.

01:02:59

Oh, you I think so, even though our merch is made in America.

01:03:01

Yeah, but we definitely get some shit from overseas.

01:03:04

And then it's made here. Is it? Some of it.

01:03:07

It's really good stuff. Okay, so our weekly advice segment, Deer Toasters, where you can write into deertoasters@gmail. Com, or you can head over to our website, thetoastpodcast. Com, and use a little submission box. Both methods are completely anonymous, and we will help you out from anything from, is your mom group toxic? Or are you showing too much crack? We're going to help you out. So here are the submissions for today. Hello, girlies. A couple of nights ago, my husband invited two couple friends to a college basketball game. My husband is a huge basketball guy. We even gave them our extra tickets for free because we thought it would just be a fun group outing. I assumed that we were all riding separately and meeting at the arena. But the plot is, when we got there, we realized that the other two couples had met up beforehand, gone out to dinner, and arrived as one cute little foursome. There was no, Hey, want to grab food? Or, Hey, we're meeting up first. Nothing. I told myself to let it go until today when they started posting pictures from their night, just the four of them, with captions like Date Night, as if we all at the same event, as if we literally did not provide the tickets for free.

01:04:03

So please tell me, Am I unwell? Is this mean girl behavior? Is this red flag that I need new friends, or am I overreacting?

01:04:08

You've been used, my friend.

01:04:10

Yeah. The interesting thing, though, is that the way she described as my husband invited two couple friends. So do you know these girls? Or are they going out with their husband's friend? Do you know what I mean? Yeah, it could have been super nice of them to invite you to dinner, or this was your first time meeting. They We do require a little more context, but this is just poor etiquette.

01:04:34

The invitation should have been extended to you. If they were doing a roundup of the evening on Instagram, there should have been a photo with you guys in it. And the fact that there wasn't, we don't need to send them to jail, but it's just a signal that they're not really about you, and you should take that cue.

01:04:50

And I just want to say it actually is a signal that they're mean because even if you don't get along with somebody, when somebody gives you free tickets, you tag them on Instagram. It's like, move on with your life.

01:05:00

Yeah. What if they didn't get a photo with her? Maybe they don't know her.

01:05:02

Thanks to the amazing night at Jacky O. The fact that they didn't.

01:05:06

They don't know her so well, so they didn't get... I don't always take pictures. Self.

01:05:10

But if somebody brought you to a suite, and you posted pictures with Zack and somebody else you knew in the suite, you would tag, thank you at Olivia. I don't know why I'm only using our family, for the amazing night.

01:05:21

Yeah, I think that I would.

01:05:22

Of course, that's just social media etiquette. So the fact that they didn't like these girls are mean and they didn't vibe with you. So how you react, this is very Ashley Tisdale.

01:05:28

But you can't say they didn't vibe with you when the crime was committed before they even technically met you at the game.

01:05:36

Depending on how well you know them. If you don't know them that well, then we went to dinner before. It's not weird. But then them posting on Instagram, you weren't even there, is rude. How you react, I think you should never see these bitches again. You don't need to send a text message being like, I'm not leaving. This is serving me.

01:05:53

Why do you guys don't you guys take your cue?

01:05:56

Yeah, take your cue. All right, next Yeah. One of my guy friends just got married, but he's recently started kissing, making out with other guys at parties. So at first everybody thought this was a joke, but they started doing it more and more, and the kiss has turned from pecs to borderline makeouts. Because a few of our friends have witnessed the behavior, everyone is talking about it, and it's become a huge elephant in the room, to say the least. My loyalty does lie with him. I do not care what his sexuality is, but I am uncomfortable not knowing if his new wife is aware of this or not.

01:06:25

Why is he at parties without his new wife?

01:06:26

It almost feels like a cry for help and not an open relationship type of thing. I could be wrong. Should I bring this up to him and see what he has to say or leave it alone?

01:06:33

I would say leave it alone, but why is his new wife not at parties with him? How many parties is he going to, newly married without his wife?

01:06:41

Now, this is where I had one of the spicer things to say, and I don't know if I want to say it.

01:06:49

Why don't you? We could always cut it out. Okay.

01:06:51

Tell me if this is crazy. I understand that it's really complicated to come out. There's so many things, like family, friends. What will people people think. I do feel like as a society, we're really evolved. For the most part, yeah, they're still crazy, terrible people, but for the most part, you're gay. Like, literally, who cares? That's amazing. Wonderful. If you enter into a marriage with someone knowing that you are gay, I feel like for a while, we gave leniency. It's like, Well, he didn't know or whatever. I feel like at some point, I want to hold you responsible. That's an evil thing to do. And I know it's complicated on your own journey, but to bring somebody into that just to cover up what you're dealing with. I don't know. I feel like it's really wrong. And so I don't know if this girl knows. I don't know the situation here, but if he is... Why should this girl waste her youth on somebody who's not really in the marriage? I feel like she should know. And then if it's like, years later, he comes out and she wasted the prime years of her life and everybody who's making out with guys at a party and she didn't know.

01:07:53

I don't know. I feel like it's fucked up.

01:07:55

I like that take of you should tell her. I wasn't even thinking of that. I was just going to be like, why is she not at parties with him? That makes me feel like they're... What do they call it? A lavender marriage? That's something- Well, maybe that's what's happening here.

01:08:09

And then you don't need to tell her.

01:08:11

Well, no, you can still tell her just to do the thing that you would want done to you. I just think the fact that, and how many parties are there?

01:08:18

It sounds fun. Who goes to that many parties? Yeah, maybe they're younger. But I just feel like there was a time when men would leave marriages of 40, 50 years and come out. And it was like, there was nothing they could have done 40, 50 years ago. They did what they had to I just feel like that's not the world anymore.

01:08:32

No. If it's safe enough to make out at parties with a man, then this is your community, and no one's like, Oh, that's so... Don't do that. Right. Sinner. Right.

01:08:41

Yeah. I don't know. I feel like the grace period for that is a little bit over. And you have every right to live your truth or not. Or not. But to bring someone else and make them be married to you when it's not a truthful marriage, I don't know. I'm starting to feel like we owe Well, here's the thing.

01:09:00

If he was going to these parties and making out with the girls, kissing his girlfriends. Why is this different? He was getting it to be a little much, and she's not at the parties. The whole thing is so weird. Yeah. I guess tell her just because, first of all, I know he's your friend, but how close can you really be with a man.

01:09:15

Who's married.

01:09:17

You sound toxic.

01:09:18

No, I'm kidding.

01:09:19

No, but I'm sorry, that's not the same as a girl's friend. Of course. That's your best girlfriend. That's different than being your best guy. Because boys and girls can't be friends.

01:09:29

It It sounds like this also might be an appropriate time for an anonymous letter.

01:09:33

Do you think boys and girls can be friends?

01:09:35

Okay. When?

01:09:37

No, not an anonymous letter, by the way. Just tell her. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

01:09:40

But back to your question. Single people in high school?

01:09:45

High schools? No.

01:09:47

Is everyone straight?

01:09:48

Everyone's straight.

01:09:51

You know, because I do have... My best friend forever was a guy, even when I was married. He's gay now. So maybe we can't, actually. Because now thinking back, maybe it was an inappropriate friendship. We were so close, but he was gay.

01:10:10

Turns out it wasn't.

01:10:11

Turns out it wasn't, right.

01:10:12

But I do think Boys and girls can't be that close. It's like, post-couple. When everyone's young- Because either you're in love or it's an inappropriate relationship.

01:10:25

If you're both single and best friends, it's like, well, you're in love.

01:10:28

Well, if you're single and you're You're best friends and you tell each other, get married. You're in love. You are in love. That sounds amazing.

01:10:36

You're halfway there.

01:10:37

It's a dream. You want to spend your time with them. You like talking to them. Like, why?

01:10:40

The only thing left is the physical stuff.

01:10:41

I guess if you're not attracted to them. But most people are- If you love someone as a best friend, you will find them beautiful. Because I don't see people. Exactly. But also, most people are friends with their same-ish level of attractiveness, right? Yeah.

01:10:56

You're friends with a bunch of uggos.

01:11:00

No. This episode is all about friendships, and what goes into friendship.

01:11:03

It's the theme for today.

01:11:04

Friendship. It's beautiful. Tell her, I don't like this because I don't like any kissing outside of your marriage. Even if they were initially pecs, I don't like pecking outside your marriage. How about that? It's both.

01:11:17

Yes, it's cheating. So a girl should know that her husband's cheating on her. But also it's even more layered because if you're cheating in a marriage, there's an element of lies between you.

01:11:25

I can't believe it took us so long to get to this conclusion. We're actually too sensitive.

01:11:29

No, because sometimes with Deer Toaster, it's like, well, is it worth the trouble? Then you become the villain and you started all this. So a lot of times with Deer Toaster, we just say, mind your own business. But that's why I said the thing about these... I feel like it's more often gay men than gay women, but sometimes, yeah, gay women, leave marriages, whatever. But I feel like most of the time it's gay men who live in marriages that are lies. And I just feel like in the year 2026, we don't need to be doing that. And if you are, I feel like now it's mean and it's wrong. I don't know if that's spicy and if I'm going to get canceled for saying that.

01:12:04

Yeah. On this one, like, Women, we've got to look out for each other. Right.

01:12:09

Sisters. Sisters. You can't say, Screw Sisterhood.

01:12:13

No.

01:12:13

We stand together We make up one big family, but we don't look the same. Our spots are different, different colors. I'm such a good singer.

01:12:26

You are. Yeah. It's really beautiful, the witness. Yes. Thank you. And just be able to be a backup singer.

01:12:32

Oh, you agree. I have an amazing voice.

01:12:34

I've always supported your singing.

01:12:36

Yeah. I just feel like, honestly, being here, it's like a podcast or it's holding me back from reaching my true potential.

01:12:41

Well, you're in front of a microphone. Do your thing. Okay. At least you've made it this far to where your job entails you sitting in front of a microphone.

01:12:50

I'm unstable. I'm a Porsche with no brakes. I'm invincible. Yeah, I win every single I'm so powerful. I don't need batteries to play. I'm so confident. Yeah, I'm unstable today. Just a little see it for you. See you later.

01:13:13

See you later, Alligator.
