Speaker 100:00:04

Good morning, girlies, it's the Toast. It's Jax and Claude, and we're your hosts. It's your favorite show, the fast-five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly, it's the Toast.

Jackie Oshry00:00:23

They sound amazing.

Claudia Oshry00:00:25

Welcome back to the Toast, and happy Wednesday—ugh, hump day! Don't forget to tell me someone you love. Speaking of someone I love, it's my sister. My sister in Christ, my sister in life.

Jackie Oshry00:00:34

Your sister in blue.

Claudia Oshry00:00:35

Yes, blue wave.

Jackie Oshry00:00:36

Try not to read into it too much, you guys.

Claudia Oshry00:00:38

We're so, like, simpatico too, like, both wearing— I just, I happen to have gotten a new sweater. Guess where my sweater's from?

Jackie Oshry00:00:45

TJ Maxx. I know you just shopped there. You literally just went there.

Claudia Oshry00:00:52

Rude.

Jackie Oshry00:00:53

Rails.

Claudia Oshry00:00:54

Rails! That's right.

Jackie Oshry00:00:56

It is?

Claudia Oshry00:00:56

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:00:57

Wait, really?

Claudia Oshry00:00:58

That's why I asked, like, why would you give a shit where my sweater's from, but it's from Rails.

Jackie Oshry00:01:00

No, there's a couple places it could be that are near and dear to us. TJ Maxx.

Claudia Oshry00:01:03

And there's absolutely nothing wrong.

Jackie Oshry00:01:04

Target.

Claudia Oshry00:01:05

With someone saying that your sweater looks like it's from TJ Maxx. It's like, not, like—

Jackie Oshry00:01:08

It's not, it's like, not the nice thing.

Claudia Oshry00:01:09

They don't know that, like, you know, you could properly hunt a good bargain.

Jackie Oshry00:01:11

Or it could have been Nudes, like our other favorite brand.

Claudia Oshry00:01:13

No, it's Rails.

Jackie Oshry00:01:15

Okay, well, I love it. We are thinking about switching sweaters mid-show.

Claudia Oshry00:01:18

I'm just looking, like, a little busty in this sweater, but the thing is, the facts of the matter are: I'm an extremely busty woman. I don't know if a sweater is going to change that.

Jackie Oshry00:01:28

Let's change mid-show if we remember. Like, that would just be a fun, funny thing to do.

Claudia Oshry00:01:32

Yeah, and like, yours just looks like light and fun.

Jackie Oshry00:01:34

Yeah, it's like a sweater, but it is pretty thin.

Claudia Oshry00:01:36

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:01:37

Pretty deceptive. Okay, that'll be fun. Fun, fair.

Claudia Oshry00:01:41

Something fun for you guys to look forward to in the middle of the show.

Jackie Oshry00:01:43

I think blue is, like, my new favorite color. Try not to read into it too much.

Claudia Oshry00:01:47

Blue is your new favorite color.

Jackie Oshry00:01:48

Yeah, like, everything in my life is sort of blue now. Now, pink will always—

Claudia Oshry00:01:51

Boy mama.

Jackie Oshry00:01:52

Boy mama things. It's just, like, the color of our family, I think. Like, this light blue, and so, yeah, blue is my color.

Claudia Oshry00:01:58

I kind of feel that recently green is my color.

Jackie Oshry00:02:02

You're not.

Claudia Oshry00:02:02

Not us trying to appeal to everyone.

Jackie Oshry00:02:03

You're.

Claudia Oshry00:02:04

Blue is our color.

Jackie Oshry00:02:05

No, I'm just— I didn't, like, you guys are reading into it because it's—

Claudia Oshry00:02:08

Do you feel that green's my color?

Jackie Oshry00:02:10

No.

Claudia Oshry00:02:11

Interesting.

Jackie Oshry00:02:12

I think you look beautiful in green, but if I had to—

Claudia Oshry00:02:13

Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. My family color.

Jackie Oshry00:02:15

You're— oh, okay. Yeah, sage. Of course. When you have one son, your family color is sage.

Claudia Oshry00:02:19

Yeah, no, but also, not just sage.

Jackie Oshry00:02:21

It's like a woman who's not ready to accept blue in her life.

Claudia Oshry00:02:23

When we're in New York, we're more like hunter-deep emerald green.

Jackie Oshry00:02:26

That I completely agree.

Claudia Oshry00:02:28

Here, yes, we're very sage. Ruby and Ben both have green eyes. Green. Green is kind of like the fabric of my life.

Jackie Oshry00:02:35

Is green the color of the independent party?

Claudia Oshry00:02:37

Do they have a color?

Jackie Oshry00:02:39

I.

Claudia Oshry00:02:39

White?

Jackie Oshry00:02:40

I feel like it's red and— maybe it's purple. It's so purple.

Claudia Oshry00:02:43

That would make a lot of sense.

Jackie Oshry00:02:43

It should be red and blue combined, because you're like a little bit of both.

Claudia Oshry00:02:45

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:02:45

Not you.

Claudia Oshry00:02:48

Not us. We would never.

Jackie Oshry00:02:50

We would never, never. Like, we would not never. This is us trying to say nothing. You know what I mean? Because if you say we would never, that's a statement.

Claudia Oshry00:03:00

And I'm stating nothing. I just want everyone to enjoy the show, no matter where you come from, no matter if you're crying today, if you're celebrating, the Toast is here for you.

Jackie Oshry00:03:06

The Toast is always here for you. How many election days have we survived now?

Claudia Oshry00:03:10

That's a great question. Well, regular elections, probably what, eight or nine?

Jackie Oshry00:03:14

Well, as many years as we've been doing the show, so eight or nine.

Claudia Oshry00:03:17

Presidential, two and four.

Jackie Oshry00:03:20

22, 24. Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:03:21

Because we weren't in 2016.

Jackie Oshry00:03:23

Mm-mm. Those are obviously.

Claudia Oshry00:03:24

And once you've been through two and four on a public platform, I'm not afraid of anything.

Jackie Oshry00:03:28

You can get through anything. What is six? What is 26? Nothing.

Claudia Oshry00:03:33

Nothing.

Jackie Oshry00:03:34

So I hope everyone had a great election day.

Claudia Oshry00:03:36

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:03:36

I didn't make it chilly because I've been surviving on chili for 48 hours.

Claudia Oshry00:03:39

We've kind of sort of, like, hit our max with chili.

Jackie Oshry00:03:42

But I did make a parji loaf, or it's on the way to be made, and it will be for you and your family.

Claudia Oshry00:03:47

You made bread?

Jackie Oshry00:03:48

I was actually— it's going to be baked right when I get home. I was thinking about— not, this isn't to, like, slight you in any way, but I think it will be better for both families.

Claudia Oshry00:03:55

I love when a statement you make comes with, like, a forewarning.

Jackie Oshry00:04:00

I think it will be better if I cut a loaf in half and give it to you and keep a half for myself, because I don't finish the whole loaf in a timely manner and it gets moldy, and, like, that's sad. So I feel like half loaves are the thing.

Claudia Oshry00:04:11

I actually have a hot take on sourdough. Now, you make multiple kinds, but, like, the OG shape.

Jackie Oshry00:04:19

Boulet.

Claudia Oshry00:04:20

The boulet really doesn't work for me.

Jackie Oshry00:04:23

I know.

Claudia Oshry00:04:23

Half of it is unusable.

Jackie Oshry00:04:24

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:04:25

And if you're making, like, a nice thick slice, pulling a piece for yourself for a snack, you get, like, four slices.

Jackie Oshry00:04:30

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:04:31

Sounds efficient. Boulet is not good.

Jackie Oshry00:04:33

No, boulet is impressive, but.

Claudia Oshry00:04:35

Boulet is beautiful.

Jackie Oshry00:04:36

Everyday life, I go sandwich.

Claudia Oshry00:04:38

Jacqueline Boulet.

Jackie Oshry00:04:39

Jacqueline Boulet. But I'm going sandwich, and I was going to gift you sandwich.

Claudia Oshry00:04:42

That works for me.

Jackie Oshry00:04:43

Sandwich.

Claudia Oshry00:04:43

Sandwich.

Jackie Oshry00:04:44

The Earl of Sandwich.

Claudia Oshry00:04:45

Thank you. That really works for me.

Jackie Oshry00:04:46

Okay, great. I have to just go home and bake it.

Claudia Oshry00:04:49

Just small. Just bake it.

Jackie Oshry00:04:50

Mm-hmm. No big deal. The hard work is over. So, like, that was my, like, election day cooking.

Claudia Oshry00:04:56

I didn't cook much, and it's probably for the best, you know?

Jackie Oshry00:04:59

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:04:59

I had a home-cooked meal, of course, by my husband. Author of.

Jackie Oshry00:05:05

Author of.

Claudia Oshry00:05:06

Oh, I just want to say.

Jackie Oshry00:05:07

Sorry, he's upside down.

Claudia Oshry00:05:07

Whoever set up the studio today hates Ben. Noted. I will tell him. Not only was his book removed, Spritz is upside down. She's making a statement, and you know what? I respect it. Let's give it a taste. Ben's debut cookbook comes out in June, but please, feel free to pre-order it. It'll just show up, you'll forget all about it, and then in June you'll be like, "Oh, look at this gift I gave to myself. I'm such a thoughtful person."

Jackie Oshry00:05:25

Except you never really forget all about it if you order it on Amazon, because it's always going to be top.

Claudia Oshry00:05:29

At the top of your orders.

Jackie Oshry00:05:30

Of your orders.

Claudia Oshry00:05:30

They will not let me forget about Jaylen Brunson's debut novel.

Jackie Oshry00:05:33

They will not let me forget about Sophia Franklin, and they did not let me forget about Babs. Every Day with Babs, the cookbook.

Claudia Oshry00:05:39

I still haven't pre-ordered it.

Jackie Oshry00:05:40

She left a note in to photoshop her arm.

Claudia Oshry00:05:43

I love that.

Jackie Oshry00:05:44

That's amazing.

Claudia Oshry00:05:44

That, like, when I write a cookbook, it will be full of issues like that.

Jackie Oshry00:05:47

And it's like, I got the first edit, like, first printing, so I have.

Claudia Oshry00:05:50

You get the.

Jackie Oshry00:05:51

I have it. It's in mine. Sorry. Sorry, Babs, for bringing that up again.

Claudia Oshry00:05:57

Yeah, you know, it's like her Roman Empire, and you keep bringing it up.

Jackie Oshry00:06:00

I know, it was just one of them.

Claudia Oshry00:06:01

Kind of like Kelly Clarkson and the smacking.

Jackie Oshry00:06:02

Spanking her kids. It was a spank, not a smack.

Claudia Oshry00:06:05

And what do you think is worse? A spank or a smack?

Jackie Oshry00:06:09

Depends on the location.

Claudia Oshry00:06:10

When I think of smack, I think of, like, when we were kids, like, we would smack each other. Like.

Jackie Oshry00:06:14

In the face.

Claudia Oshry00:06:15

Yeah, or, like, arms. We just used the word smack a lot. We were, like, kind of physical young women.

Jackie Oshry00:06:19

We wouldn't spank each other.

Claudia Oshry00:06:20

No. Spanking is more of an authoritarian.

Jackie Oshry00:06:23

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:06:23

We were actually extremely physically violent with one another, like, for girls.

Jackie Oshry00:06:28

Yes, but not for siblings.

Claudia Oshry00:06:30

No, but, like, we were, like, beating the hell out of each other. Sorry, Olivia was beating the hell out of us.

Jackie Oshry00:06:34

Slap. A slap.

Claudia Oshry00:06:35

Yeah, just slaps.

Jackie Oshry00:06:36

Yeah, we used to slap each other.

Claudia Oshry00:06:37

We didn't, like, wrestle, but we were obsessed with slapping.

Jackie Oshry00:06:39

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:06:40

Never in the face, really.

Jackie Oshry00:06:42

I feel like only in the face.

Claudia Oshry00:06:43

Oh my God, no. Like, arms and shoulders.

Jackie Oshry00:06:45

That's nothing. That's a pat.

Claudia Oshry00:06:47

Yeah, right.

Jackie Oshry00:06:47

That's what I do when I laugh.

Claudia Oshry00:06:48

And that's the other thing, is, like, I think it's very shocking to Ben, because, like, I'm a smacker, you know? When I laugh, yes, I'm like, "Oh, how dare—" like, and he's like, "Ow." You know? But I grew up in a smack house. Like, I used to be smacked out.

Jackie Oshry00:06:59

I'm such a physical laugher. Like, I'm— and I feel like I always do to you, and you're like, "Ow."

Claudia Oshry00:07:03

You're a shover.

Jackie Oshry00:07:04

Oh, yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:07:05

You're not a smacker. You're a full-blown shover.

Jackie Oshry00:07:07

Yeah, that feels good.

Claudia Oshry00:07:08

Yeah, like, that was funny.

Jackie Oshry00:07:11

It's like, can you believe it, Claude?

Claudia Oshry00:07:13

I can. Stop touching me.

Jackie Oshry00:07:14

But don't do me. I'm very tender.

Claudia Oshry00:07:17

I'm also very tender.

Jackie Oshry00:07:18

Are you tender? I didn't know that about you.

Claudia Oshry00:07:19

Oh, you don't?

Jackie Oshry00:07:20

No.

Claudia Oshry00:07:20

When I go to a massage, I always have to be, like.

Jackie Oshry00:07:23

I always have to tell them that I'm tender.

Claudia Oshry00:07:25

I get— if you, like, dig your thumb into my side a little too hard, I'll feel it for a few days. Like, I am so— and I'm always, like, my skin, like, my skin, like, it's very juicy and sensitive.

Jackie Oshry00:07:37

Juicy and sensitive.

Claudia Oshry00:07:38

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:07:39

Whatever.

Claudia Oshry00:07:39

Yeah, like, if I bang. It's usually in my hips. If I, like, bang my hip on the wall.

Jackie Oshry00:07:43

Oh, no, I'm sorry. That area that you just pointed to is tender, I think, for all.

Claudia Oshry00:07:46

Love handles.

Jackie Oshry00:07:47

Tender for all.

Claudia Oshry00:07:47

If I, like, bang it into the corner of a table, like, I will die.

Jackie Oshry00:07:51

No, but that's painful for everybody.

Claudia Oshry00:07:53

No, but more for me.

Jackie Oshry00:07:54

Well, everything is more painful for you because.

Claudia Oshry00:07:56

Because I'm special.

Jackie Oshry00:07:57

Dramatics.

Claudia Oshry00:07:57

No, I'm special.

Jackie Oshry00:07:58

Before.

Claudia Oshry00:07:58

The word you're using for special.

Jackie Oshry00:08:00

Because of the dramatic effect.

Claudia Oshry00:08:01

Because I'm extremely special.

Jackie Oshry00:08:03

Mm, very special.

Advertisement00:08:05

Oh, what else can I complain about? Oh, we're at a major, major milestone, and it's perfect, because one of our sponsors today is Parallel, and I'm extremely brand loyal. I do take the Parallel prenatals, and unlike other prenatals, it's not one vitamin. It's a pack. And it's like— it's always a challenge for me to get them down. It's five pills. I'm not a good swallower at all. Ben could take, like, six pills dry. Sick. Yesterday, for the first time ever, I got all five pills down in one drink.

Jackie Oshry00:08:30

That's not safe.

Claudia Oshry00:08:31

I usually do two and three, but it just prolongs it, and it's like, I just want to get it done.

Jackie Oshry00:08:36

That's not safe, Koji.

Claudia Oshry00:08:37

You don't think?

Jackie Oshry00:08:37

I don't know.

Claudia Oshry00:08:38

I wasn't alone. Ben was there.

Jackie Oshry00:08:40

I guess.

Claudia Oshry00:08:41

I wouldn't do it alone.

Jackie Oshry00:08:42

I don't like it.

Claudia Oshry00:08:43

Well, I did it, and I felt so proud of myself, and then it reminded me of the time— do you remember the first time you ever swallowed a pill? Like, is that a core memory or just for me?

Jackie Oshry00:08:50

No.

Claudia Oshry00:08:51

So I remember when we were youths, I couldn't swallow pills. It was actually really inconvenient. And, like, at a certain point, like, you're getting to middle and high school, like, you can't be taking liquid Tylenol, you know? So I remember sitting down on a couch and, like, teaching myself how to swallow pills, practicing using M&M's. So here I was.

Jackie Oshry00:09:10

You're so brave.

Claudia Oshry00:09:11

I was, like— I was, like, chugging water and M&M's, like, in the living room by myself. And I just remember, like, when I did it for the first time, it was— like, that sense of accomplishment, it doesn't leave you.

Jackie Oshry00:09:22

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:09:22

It was amazing. And that's how I felt last night. Another core memory. Oh, I wanted to say something else.

Jackie Oshry00:09:29

Yeah?

Claudia Oshry00:09:29

So a lot of people, like, sort of inadvertently complimenting me.

Jackie Oshry00:09:34

On?

Claudia Oshry00:09:35

My youth.

Jackie Oshry00:09:37

When?

Claudia Oshry00:09:37

They were like, "Claudia, you need to stop saying Connor Wood is, like, Gen Z, Gen Z. He's literally 31. I'm 32." So, yeah, we're Gen Z.

Jackie Oshry00:09:46

How did you put that together?

Claudia Oshry00:09:47

How did I put what together?

Jackie Oshry00:09:49

Like, that they're complimenting you on your youth.

Claudia Oshry00:09:51

Because they said, like, "Claudia, Connor is Gen Z."

Jackie Oshry00:09:53

I think that, actually, like, if you think that someone millennial is Gen Z, that makes you a boomer.

Claudia Oshry00:09:59

I actually think, in this conversation, I'm blowing up Connor Wood's spot. People don't realize he's 31.

Jackie Oshry00:10:03

He's 31.

Claudia Oshry00:10:04

He's such a baby face. And he is, like, sort of the face of, like, the TikTok dancing with the stars movement, and I think, like, me even having this conversation, like, poses a threat to his standing in the competition.

Jackie Oshry00:10:14

You think so?

Claudia Oshry00:10:14

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:10:14

Like, do you think if you look him up, his age— like, when he has his birthday on Instagram, does he say, like, "the big three ones"?

Claudia Oshry00:10:20

Definitely not.

Jackie Oshry00:10:21

Oh, really?

Claudia Oshry00:10:21

It's very inconvenient to him.

Jackie Oshry00:10:23

It's not funny.

Claudia Oshry00:10:24

That's why I'm glad I'm not a TikToker. Obviously, like, I wish that I was. I wish I had millions of followers on TikTok. But I would constantly be, like, hiding my age.

Jackie Oshry00:10:31

1995.

Claudia Oshry00:10:33

I'm 94. Like, we're so young. I actually think it's for the best that I'm not a successful TikToker, because I would really have a lot— and I make jokes and stuff, but I really— I'm fine with my age. Like, I am. I don't think I would be if I was a TikToker. Like, a big— if TikTok was my platform.

Jackie Oshry00:10:46

Why? Because.

Claudia Oshry00:10:47

It's for young kids. Like, it's a young girls' game.

Jackie Oshry00:10:51

Come to Reels. You'll feel so young.

Claudia Oshry00:10:53

I am at Reels. Like, I.

Jackie Oshry00:10:56

You're there, but you're not ten toes down.

Claudia Oshry00:11:00

Well, I'm not really ten toes down on anything except the podcast. Like, you know?

Jackie Oshry00:11:04

That's true. That's true.

Claudia Oshry00:11:05

Everything else is just, like.

Jackie Oshry00:11:06

Great. You just give, like, a piece of yourself.

Claudia Oshry00:11:10

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:11:10

But we want the whole self of Turd Self.

Claudia Oshry00:11:12

Not everyone can have full Turd.

Jackie Oshry00:11:14

You want the whole Turd.

Claudia Oshry00:11:15

A lot of people want the whole Turd. You can't have it.

Jackie Oshry00:11:18

You guys, I got my botox yesterday.

Claudia Oshry00:11:20

Oh, has it settled? No.

Jackie Oshry00:11:22

I think so. Like, already, like, I can.

Claudia Oshry00:11:24

Oh, yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:11:24

Feel it a little bit of, like, less expression, which is so exciting.

Claudia Oshry00:11:28

How nice.

Jackie Oshry00:11:29

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:11:30

We're so happy for you.

Jackie Oshry00:11:31

Thank you.

Claudia Oshry00:11:31

We are.

Jackie Oshry00:11:32

Well, you look great. Like, you have that pregnancy glow.

Claudia Oshry00:11:34

Oh, please.

Jackie Oshry00:11:34

And you have all your hair.

Claudia Oshry00:11:36

That is true.

Jackie Oshry00:11:36

You know?

Claudia Oshry00:11:37

That is true.

Jackie Oshry00:11:37

Like, I have, like, stubs.

Claudia Oshry00:11:39

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:11:40

So I get at least a clean father.

Claudia Oshry00:11:42

But, like, at least you can, like, take action on your stubs, you know?

Jackie Oshry00:11:46

You mean, like, minoxidil and stuff like that?

Claudia Oshry00:11:47

Like, if you wanted to.

Jackie Oshry00:11:48

No, no, no, no. It's not that serious for me. I can see. I was doing my hair yesterday. Like, I see, like, the regrowth. Like, it's doing what it does.

Claudia Oshry00:11:53

Right.

Jackie Oshry00:11:54

It just takes time, and you just have to be patient.

Claudia Oshry00:11:55

Right.

Jackie Oshry00:11:56

But, no, that's, like— I'm not having extreme anything enough to take, like, a prescription medication.

Claudia Oshry00:12:01

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:12:02

You know me.

Claudia Oshry00:12:02

Yeah, clean girl.

Jackie Oshry00:12:03

Trying to keep it low tox.

Claudia Oshry00:12:04

Clean girl with her Botox.

Jackie Oshry00:12:05

Except for the Botox.

Claudia Oshry00:12:05

Low tox plus Botox.

Jackie Oshry00:12:07

Of course. All the clean mamas do it.

Claudia Oshry00:12:08

It's true.

Jackie Oshry00:12:09

Like, I'm not that crunchy, you guys, that I would forego Botox. Are you crazy?

Claudia Oshry00:12:13

Nobody's that crunchy.

Jackie Oshry00:12:14

No, Kourtney Kardashian is.

Claudia Oshry00:12:16

Nobody.

Jackie Oshry00:12:16

But I'm not.

Claudia Oshry00:12:17

Yeah, but it's easy to go low tox, no Botox, when, like, you're— up until you were, like, 40, you did do all of those things to preserve. So she looks now almost 50, what she might have looked like 35, you know? She had, like, 20 years of doing the tox.

Jackie Oshry00:12:33

Yeah. But also, that's what crunchy is to me. Like, it's not totally— I don't even know the word for, like, all the way. Hippie, I guess?

Claudia Oshry00:12:39

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:12:39

But, like, crunchy is, like, mid.

Claudia Oshry00:12:41

Granola is all the way, right?

Jackie Oshry00:12:43

I guess. And then, like, if you're crunchy, you just, like.

Claudia Oshry00:12:45

You're a little bit.

Jackie Oshry00:12:46

Like, a couple bits of granola.

Claudia Oshry00:12:47

Right.

Jackie Oshry00:12:48

And that gives you a crunch.

Claudia Oshry00:12:49

Exactly, but you're not full crunch.

Jackie Oshry00:12:50

I wouldn't— I am not granola.

Claudia Oshry00:12:52

Like, do you think Gwyneth Paltrow gets Botox?

Jackie Oshry00:12:54

No.

Claudia Oshry00:12:55

Right. I think she truly walks the walk.

Jackie Oshry00:12:57

Uh-huh. I think it's a little bit easier for her, because I think she has.

Claudia Oshry00:13:03

The infrastructure?

Jackie Oshry00:13:04

Natural genetic predisposition to being a youthful.

Claudia Oshry00:13:07

Youthful, yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:13:08

In addition to all of the modern abilities to keep her looking young and all the procedures that are not invasive. You know what I mean?

Claudia Oshry00:13:15

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:13:16

And I think she devotes really her life to it, because that is her full-time job. Like, Goop literally is her job, so she's just a walker.

Claudia Oshry00:13:22

She has to walk the walk, yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:13:23

While the rest of us, you know, don't.

Claudia Oshry00:13:26

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:13:27

But I think, yeah, I think some people are just blessed.

Claudia Oshry00:13:29

Yeah, that does remind me, speaking of, you know, women of a certain age. I saw another clip from this week's episode of Golden Life, and I've decided I will be tuning in weekly. Ramona gets into a fight with, like, the stylist. I guess they're doing a photo shoot for the TV show, which I like that sort of, like, meta element. They're like, "Oh, we."

Jackie Oshry00:13:43

Mama does that too.

Claudia Oshry00:13:44

Yeah, we have a show, and, like, yeah, we're talking about the show. And so they sit down and hair and makeup, and there's, like, this random woman sitting in the glam chair getting her hair done.

Jackie Oshry00:13:52

No, and also, Ramona's looking for the stylist, so she's like.

Claudia Oshry00:13:54

Right, so she's like, "Where's the stylist?" And somebody's like, "Oh, she's right there," and it's the woman getting her glam done. And Ramona was like, "Who are you, and why are you getting your glam done?" And it's like Sonia and Luann are, like, standing there waiting to get their hair done while this rando stylist gets her hair curled.

Jackie Oshry00:14:08

Ramona is 100% right.

Claudia Oshry00:14:10

1,000%.

Jackie Oshry00:14:11

Growing up is realizing Ramona Singer is not crazy.

Claudia Oshry00:14:16

No, and her delivery is sometimes off. Of course, nobody's perfect. But at the core of what she's saying, she actually wasn't even rude enough to that stylist. Like, I need to watch this episode. The clip, like, really hooked me in. And, yeah, I think it's going to be amazing. Like, I need to watch.

Jackie Oshry00:14:30

I feel— oh, God. I'm afraid. I worry.

Claudia Oshry00:14:34

What?

Jackie Oshry00:14:34

I just don't want to say I fear, because then, like, I'm going to.

Claudia Oshry00:14:37

You're Gen Z.

Jackie Oshry00:14:38

I'm going to go— I'm going to low IQ category.

Claudia Oshry00:14:40

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:14:40

I worry that the show is, like, great clip farm, but in terms of watching a whole show and a whole episode and the plot and everything, it doesn't live up to the clips.

Claudia Oshry00:14:50

Well, I watched half of the first episode, and I did enjoy it.

Jackie Oshry00:14:54

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:14:55

So I'm going to give it another chance.

Jackie Oshry00:14:57

I'll get back to it. I have so much reading to do, because I still have to finish Partida. We didn't— Red Heads is going to be delayed. We'll be uploading next week. Apologies, fam. Calamity Club, I was halfway through when I started Partida, and then our book club is choosing a different book, because Calamity Club was too big, so I'll have to read that too. I think we're going to read The Correspondent. I've heard amazing things.

Claudia Oshry00:15:17

I've heard nothing, but I'm so out of, like, the book world.

Jackie Oshry00:15:19

I know. But, like, these are the books.

Claudia Oshry00:15:21

Oh, but I trust you implicitly.

Jackie Oshry00:15:22

No, which is, like, good, because it'd be like if you picked up a book in 2020 and all you read was Crawdads, Seven Husbands, and Daisy Jones, and you're like, "Wow, books are amazing."

Claudia Oshry00:15:31

Yeah, there's no point in, like, reading a book, if you don't read a lot. There's no point in picking up a book that's not, like, of the moment, because the whole point of reading books is, like, being able to tell people. It's like, "Oh, did you read that?" "Yeah, I did." Yeah, it's like.

Jackie Oshry00:15:41

But it's like when you read a lot of contemporary books in one year, and you've read all the hits, you start to read the shits.

Claudia Oshry00:15:47

Well, I actually think sometimes the hits are, like, good reads plans, and a lot of the hits are not that good.

Jackie Oshry00:15:52

No, no, but the— like, Crawdads, that was on another level.

Claudia Oshry00:15:54

Yes, oh, yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:15:55

That was, like— no, you could feel when something has, like, the cover and the look, and then it's actually, like, not that great. That's different. But every year there's, like, two or three banger.

Claudia Oshry00:16:02

Big books.

Jackie Oshry00:16:03

I would say Strangers was one of them.

Claudia Oshry00:16:05

Strangers?

Jackie Oshry00:16:05

Copper Spell Burden.

Claudia Oshry00:16:07

Copper Spell Burden, of course. I read it.

Jackie Oshry00:16:09

And it's like, maybe you didn't even, like, love it, but it was a talking point.

Claudia Oshry00:16:14

Oh, my gosh, this is the last book I read.

Jackie Oshry00:16:15

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:16:16

It— like, wasn't even that good.

Jackie Oshry00:16:18

But when you— when we were reading, like, 60 books a year, like, we were actually reading just garbage at a certain point, because there was nothing good else to read. And God forbid we read something, like, a classic.

Claudia Oshry00:16:25

Jackie, when I was reading 60 books a year, some of the shit, especially in, like, November, December, to hit my reading goal, was, like, actual pamphlets and, like, short stories written by, like, non-authors. Like, I don't even want to talk about what I was reading. Like, it was dark.

Jackie Oshry00:16:39

So it's like, if you read a book today, just like how you read Copper Spell Burden, it would be great, because it's, like, the book that everyone loved that they say you should read.

Claudia Oshry00:16:46

I'm much more selective now.

Jackie Oshry00:16:48

Much more.

Claudia Oshry00:16:49

Much more selective.

Jackie Oshry00:16:50

Much more.

Claudia Oshry00:16:51

Much stupid for children.

Jackie Oshry00:16:53

Well, do you want to get into the stories?

Claudia Oshry00:16:55

I guess. What is the vibe of them today? I know.

Jackie Oshry00:16:57

It's really, like, random celebrity news. I guess everyone yesterday was busy out there, like, making a plan, grabbing an elderly pill.

Claudia Oshry00:17:03

Oh, that's true.

Jackie Oshry00:17:04

An umbrella and a snack.

Claudia Oshry00:17:07

So they weren't, like, acting out. That's unfortunate.

Jackie Oshry00:17:10

No, so they really weren't acting out. And anyone who makes Election Day about them is actually not strategic, because you're never going to outshine Election Day unless you're Tom Jordy in Election Day.

Claudia Oshry00:17:19

I was going to say.

Jackie Oshry00:17:20

Getting divorced on Election Day.

Claudia Oshry00:17:21

Some people try to use Election Day as a divergence from what's actually going on.

Jackie Oshry00:17:24

Which is also just, like, a life raft for us. And I think those people and us.

Claudia Oshry00:17:29

We're extremely connected.

Jackie Oshry00:17:30

We need to get together and have a party of things.

Claudia Oshry00:17:32

Tom and Erika did booey us.

Jackie Oshry00:17:33

That was 2020. Like, thank you, Tom and Erika.

Claudia Oshry00:17:36

She knew what she was doing.

Jackie Oshry00:17:37

But thank you, Tom and Erika.

Claudia Oshry00:17:38

But the funny thing was that it literally didn't even work. If anything, like, her attempt to hide it made people even more curious.

Jackie Oshry00:17:43

No, no, there was nothing else to talk about on that day if you don't talk about politics.

Claudia Oshry00:17:46

Right.

Jackie Oshry00:17:46

So it was all we talked about.

Claudia Oshry00:17:48

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:17:48

But we don't give her enough thanks for that.

Claudia Oshry00:17:50

We don't.

Jackie Oshry00:17:50

Thank you, Erika Jane.

Claudia Oshry00:17:51

Erika.

Jackie Oshry00:17:53

Let's get into the fast five stories that Yetta do need to know.

Advertisement00:17:56

And the fast five stories that you need to know are brought to you by Ivy City. You've probably seen it everywhere lately, and plenty of famous faces are fans too. Ivy City has us covered. They have a little something for dads too. They have sizes from newborn all the way through teens, so the whole family can mix and match. Their women's pieces stand out on their own, so that's dresses, sweaters, pajamas, in sizes through women's plus. And it's not just for the kids.

Today's episode is also brought to you by Columbia Sportswear. So your winter coat is sort of this, like, it's honestly baggage.

Like, you don't know if it should be a part of your outfit, it should not be a part of your outfit. Some of them are just, like, so ugly. Some of them don't, you know, they're more stylish, but they don't even keep you warm. Every winter, we all have the same problem. You put together an outfit, you love your outfit, and then you throw on a big, giant, ugly black puffer on top, and it just ruins the entire thing. So we don't want to choose between looking good and actually being warm, and that's why we love Columbia and the Amaze Puff. It's something that, you know, you would pick out because you like the jacket, not something you're just reluctantly putting over your outfit because it's freezing outside. It's an oversized elevated shape, giving you that puffer look that you want without feeling like you're wearing expedition gear.

There are so many colors and finishes that you can choose from. It really will feel customized and tailored to you instead of automatically just buying, like, another black winter coat. It comes in different lengths, so you can choose a silhouette that works best for your style, for your outfit, and how much coverage you want. It has 650 fill down insulation, so there is real warmth behind the look. This is not one of those cute jackets where you walk outside and immediately realize you made a terrible decision. No, it's like a real winter jacket. You can layer underneath as the temperature changes, so it works when it's chilly, and it also works when it's, like, really cold winter. You can wear it out for coffee, for errands, for dinner, for travel, walking around the city, whatever you're doing.

As born and bred New Yorkers, we actually have, like, extremely high standards for puffers, and this one truly passes muster. So head to columbia.com to get your hands on the Amaze Puff jacket. It's tough on cold, soft on you. That's columbia.com, and the jacket is called the Amaze Puff jacket. Tough on cold, soft on you. Today's episode is also brought to you by Jolie, a beauty wellness company with clinically proven filtered shower heads designed to remove chlorine and heavy metals that can damage your skin and hair. So not to be, like, the bear of bad news, but you could be doing all the hair masks and face masks that you want, but if you're showering in bad water, your hair is going to feel hard, your skin is going to feel dry, stripped.

A Jolie shower filtered shower head is something you can use to replace your shower head. It's very easy. It's a universal size. Like, it fits almost every shower head. It's very aesthetic, it's really pretty, and it just filters the water that you're showering in, thus making your skin care, your hair care, all these, you know, elaborate products that we're buying, spending money on, making them work better. So it installs in minutes. It fits in all showers. It's a really effortless way to elevate your daily routine. It'll help you look and feel better without having to try harder. The Jolie shower head is the perfect base for your routine, so before doing any skin care or hair care, Jolie is sort of the baseline, because if it's—if your water's not working right, like, nothing else is going to be.

And then, of course, on a more shallow level, it's a very chic shower head. I think I know a lot of people spend a lot of time designing their showers and are worried about, you know, swapping it out. They have different metal finishes. It's very sleek. The aesthetic will elevate your space, so your shower will feel like a luxury spa or even an expensive hotel. Try Jolie risk-free for 60 days by going to jolieskinco.com/toast. That's J-O-L-I-E-skin-co.com/toast. Jolie is also now available in Costco and Target, both online and in store. So that's jolieskinco.com/toast.

Today's episode is also brought to you by Rothy's. We love Rothy's. We're currently obsessed with their clogs. Rothy's is one of our OG sponsors. Like, if you've been listening to The Toast forever, you know Rothy's. And clogs are kind of having a moment. I feel like everybody's making clogs, and the Rothy's ones are so good. So a lot of, like, celebrities have, you know, been spotted out. You've probably seen them, like, friends and family at the airport or traveling for the holidays. Everyone's wearing their clogs. They're luxe, they're stylish, and they're so comfortable. They really are that good. They sell out quite frequently. They've sold out actually more than 10 times, so once you slip them on, you'll understand why, and you'll understand the urgency in which I say, "Go get yourself a pair of clogs from Rothy's."

They go with everything, and they somehow make wearing sweats look intentional. They're unbelievably soft and comfortable, and while you're on the website, might I suggest just checking out all their other shoes? I have so many pairs of Rothy's. You guys know, not to make everything about me. I do suffer from, like, what I think is flat feetism, which I can't really be on my feet for that long, unless I'm wearing my Rothy's. They're so supportive. They've got, like, really good cushioning and arching to help support your feet throughout the day. When I'm in the city and I'm walking a lot, I walk a lot in my Rothy's, and they also have really cute kids' shoes. I didn't even know they had kids' shoes until recently. Like, so freaking cute.

So snag a pair at rothys.com. You will literally never take them off. R-O-T-H-Y-S dot com, snag a pair today.

Jackie Oshry00:23:33

I'll snag them.

Claudia Oshry00:23:34

You better pay for them.

Jackie Oshry00:23:36

But you told me to snag a pair.

Claudia Oshry00:23:38

Snag them.

Jackie Oshry00:23:39

Our first story, some Dancing With the Stars follow-up. So Tatiana Ali is hinting at how she chose her Dancing With the Stars group dance team with, quote, "an intentional strategy."

Claudia Oshry00:23:48

Yes.

Jackie Oshry00:23:48

So Tatiana Ali responded to a user on Threads. Someone threaded—what's the word for.

Claudia Oshry00:23:55

Throwed.

Jackie Oshry00:23:55

The verb for threading.

Claudia Oshry00:23:56

Throwed.

Jackie Oshry00:23:57

They throwed. Tatiana, it sounded like they threw a ball, but.

Claudia Oshry00:24:00

I was going to say, this person's tweet was, like, funny and to the point, and actually really, like, I'm glad that she responded to it, because they were so right.

Jackie Oshry00:24:06

So this person said, "Tatiana, as the lowest scored person, why wouldn't you choose at least one of the stars with a dance background for your team?" Crying emoji. So that would be Jenna or Harry.

Claudia Oshry00:24:16

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:24:17

Someone responded to that threader, saying, "Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but she strikes me as someone who is very intentional about who she shares spaces with, and I think who she picked was a reflection of that."

Claudia Oshry00:24:29

Emoji.

Jackie Oshry00:24:30

Shrugging emoji. Tatiana responded to that, "Very much so."

Claudia Oshry00:24:35

Yeah. I mean, I'm glad that there was a reason, other than the fact that she just, like, makes bad choices, because it was such a bad choice. And it did cost her the team competition. Like, it was so unbalanced.

Jackie Oshry00:24:46

And so this could either be about Jenna Dewan, Val, or Harry, or Jenna Johnson, because those are the people that have professional dance backgrounds plus their partners. People are.

Claudia Oshry00:24:56

It's not about Jenna Dewan, and it's not about Harry Shum. It's obviously about Jalen Benna.

Jackie Oshry00:25:02

Yeah. People are assuming it's about Val and the Fresh Prince comment.

Claudia Oshry00:25:05

Of course. And we forget.

Jackie Oshry00:25:06

She doesn't want to.

Claudia Oshry00:25:07

Tatiana was on the Fresh Prince. Like, she's personally invested in Val.

Jackie Oshry00:25:11

She's not.

Claudia Oshry00:25:12

Yes.

Jackie Oshry00:25:12

She's not.

Claudia Oshry00:25:13

No, like, Alfonso too, you know? Like, definitely she has beef with them. Like.

Jackie Oshry00:25:18

You think so?

Claudia Oshry00:25:18

Or?

Jackie Oshry00:25:18

I feel like they all love each other, and I was shocked to actually hear that there would be, like, beef behind the scenes, because I feel like what they're going through is so singular, and they're just, like, this. And, yeah, when something happens, someone's getting called out. Like, I don't know. I just feel like they've all sort of rallied behind each other, and that there's actually beef, and that she doesn't like Val for that comment is surprising.

Claudia Oshry00:25:37

Yes, I agree. They do usually present a united front, because it's like, well, maybe there's, you know, interpersonal communication issues. Nobody knows what it's like to be going through what they're going through, and it's very much like a team mentality, even though they're all in competition with one another. So, yes, I'm actually surprised to hear that.

Jackie Oshry00:25:52

And then more than that, that she would say something publicly that, like, publicly puts her opposed to whichever person.

Claudia Oshry00:25:58

Like, it's not awkward?

Jackie Oshry00:25:59

She's talking about. This should be awkward.

Claudia Oshry00:26:02

Right.

Jackie Oshry00:26:03

They are in such close.

Claudia Oshry00:26:03

You know, I don't know how much interact.

Jackie Oshry00:26:04

To the sponsors.

Claudia Oshry00:26:05

Are they? Like, how often is she seeing Val and Jenna?

Jackie Oshry00:26:08

Um.

Claudia Oshry00:26:08

Aside from the actual night of the show, which, like, you're worried about your own dance.

Jackie Oshry00:26:12

But, like, still, there's rehearsals, there's blocking, there's, you know.

Claudia Oshry00:26:15

But not with each other, is there? Like, what would Tatiana see Val?

Jackie Oshry00:26:19

Before the.

Claudia Oshry00:26:20

I imagine the day before the show when they do rehearsals. Like, they all have to, like, block the show and, like, line up. No, I feel like they go by each person's performance. Like.

Jackie Oshry00:26:29

I guess.

Claudia Oshry00:26:29

And, like, the people that are the rehearsal.

Jackie Oshry00:26:30

And do they all rehearse in, like, the same center? Do they have lunch together there?

Claudia Oshry00:26:33

So.

Jackie Oshry00:26:34

Those studios look the same.

Claudia Oshry00:26:35

So let me say something, actually. I feel that my time on Massanger actually can help here. Now, we were kept more separate because of the anonymity of it all, but, like, when we were talking about, like, song selections, I realized I probably—I think it's probably the same as the Massanger. Before the Massanger, they give you this huge questionnaire about, like, who your favorite singers are, genres you like, things like that people associate with you, stories. You have, like, actually, like, a call with, like, a therapist. Not a therapist, but it turns into, like, therapy. Like, "Tell me about your childhood." And they try to incorporate everything you've asked them to within the limits of, like, what songs can be cleared legally, what songs have recently been danced or sung to.

But at the end of the day, like, it's their call. Like.

Jackie Oshry00:27:13

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:27:14

I did not want to sing "Sea is Unstoppable." That song meant nothing to me. I honestly didn't even know the words.

Jackie Oshry00:27:18

So right.

Claudia Oshry00:27:18

They were so right, of course. Now, of course, they gave me Barbara Streisand as well, because they wanted it to be a clue.

Jackie Oshry00:27:23

And the next week that you had picked your song for, you had picked, because it was a themed week.

Claudia Oshry00:27:29

I hadn't picked it yet, and they gave it to me, and I didn't like it.

Jackie Oshry00:27:32

Oh, but it was based on you.

Claudia Oshry00:27:34

Yes.

Jackie Oshry00:27:34

Can we say what it was?

Claudia Oshry00:27:35

Yeah, it was Spice Girls night, and they wanted me to sing "Mama, I love you."

Jackie Oshry00:27:40

And they were so right for that, because not only did that song raise us, and then we have so many videos of us singing that song to our moms and our parents.

Claudia Oshry00:27:46

I had just.

Jackie Oshry00:27:46

I had a 5-0. Your whole thing was that you're a baby, and that's literally why you had to leave, because you're such a mama.

Claudia Oshry00:27:49

Yeah, no, no. They were so right. Vision-wise, but that was not my choice. Like.

Jackie Oshry00:27:53

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:27:53

I don't even.

Jackie Oshry00:27:53

But they're going off.

Claudia Oshry00:27:54

Know the words to that song outside of "Mama, I love you, mama, I care."

Jackie Oshry00:27:56

They're going off of things about you, and also, yeah, we saw.

Claudia Oshry00:27:58

And sometimes they do know better, absolutely.

Jackie Oshry00:28:00

That for Dancing With the Stars, they fill out this huge questionnaire beforehand, like, favorite movies, favorite songs, like, dream things to dance to. We know Jackson Olsen was going to be Greatest Showman the following week, because he's, like, the greatest showman, and that was so inspiring to him. So I do think Tatiana has a.

Claudia Oshry00:28:14

A say.

Jackie Oshry00:28:15

Is responsible for a lot of the choices made.

Claudia Oshry00:28:18

But it's entirely possible that she's not.

Jackie Oshry00:28:21

It's true, but I just.

Claudia Oshry00:28:22

Like, I had no part in "Sea." I really didn't. I had no part.

Jackie Oshry00:28:25

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:28:25

Now, I was wrong for that.

Jackie Oshry00:28:27

But it was based on everything you told them.

Claudia Oshry00:28:29

No.

Jackie Oshry00:28:29

That you had to see.

Claudia Oshry00:28:30

They changed it at the last minute. I was supposed to be singing—what was my second song supposed to be? A Celine Dion song. But, like, there were so many people who had recently sung Celine Dion. They gave me a song that actually I didn't love, and then I practiced it, and I was, like, obsessed with it, and then they changed.

Jackie Oshry00:28:44

Which song?

Claudia Oshry00:28:47

Shit. I could find, like, the sheet music. It was.

Jackie Oshry00:28:49

It wasn't even sheet music.

Claudia Oshry00:28:51

It was, like, not "It Takes Two."

Jackie Oshry00:28:55

"It Takes Two" to make a thing go right?

Claudia Oshry00:28:57

No, no, no, no, no. It was "Not the Power of Love." It was, like.

Jackie Oshry00:29:02

It's one song.

Claudia Oshry00:29:02

It's one everyone knows, but, like, not one of her.

Jackie Oshry00:29:05

From Celine?

Claudia Oshry00:29:05

Dion.

Jackie Oshry00:29:06

Oh, okay.

Claudia Oshry00:29:11

Let me just find it. In case people really want to know behind the scenes. "To Love You More"? Was that it?

Jackie Oshry00:29:18

Yeah, that sounds.

Claudia Oshry00:29:18

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:29:19

That's a good song.

Claudia Oshry00:29:20

It is. It's not one of her biggest hits, but I was so excited, and then it just, like, didn't work out. I actually forget the exact reasoning.

Jackie Oshry00:29:26

But "Unstoppable" was so iconic.

Claudia Oshry00:29:28

Best thing that ever happened to me.

Jackie Oshry00:29:29

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:29:30

So sometimes they know best.

Jackie Oshry00:29:31

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:29:33

What do we got here? Oh, so the beef. Yeah, it is. It is a brave thing to, like, start beef now. Like, especially there's fewer and fewer contestants, so it's, like, just getting, like, a smaller pool of people you do definitely see while you're there. So I would love to know. Like, you're going to have to give us a little bit more. Like, we're just assuming it's about Fresh Prince. Maybe it's something else. Maybe Harry Shum.

Jackie Oshry00:29:54

It could be completely something else.

Claudia Oshry00:29:55

Maybe Harry Shum punching her fist.

Jackie Oshry00:29:56

It could be Jenna Johnson. Like, I could see her being tough to get along with.

Claudia Oshry00:30:00

It could be Jenna Dewan.

Jackie Oshry00:30:02

It could be Jenna Dewan. Also, a little more dancing with the stars news. Is that Maura posted, like, a long Instagram carousel about this week on Twitter? She said, "This week was definitely one of the toughest I've had so far. I was really unwell, running on very little energy and trying to learn two dances, but I gave it absolutely everything I had." Very long, just saying, you know, "I'm doing my best. I'm human."

Claudia Oshry00:30:23

So this picture of her getting, like, an IV.

Jackie Oshry00:30:24

Yeah. And just working hard and laying down and being tired. All the highs and lows, really, because there was also stuff from the show, Tinker Bell, et cetera. Molly May commented with some support. But just letting everyone know, like, she is struggling, but she's okay.

Claudia Oshry00:30:39

We're sort of, like, confirming.

Jackie Oshry00:30:41

That it's been hard for her.

Claudia Oshry00:30:42

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:30:43

But that also, that she wants to be there, that this is the best thing ever, and she wants to keep going, and, like, please, you know.

Claudia Oshry00:30:49

Vote?

Jackie Oshry00:30:49

Support her.

Claudia Oshry00:30:50

Yes, I saw Yann LeBron sharing that actually today's the first day that the celebrity stars have off since the show started.

Jackie Oshry00:30:58

Wow.

Claudia Oshry00:30:58

So hopefully everyone, like, comes back this week with a.

Jackie Oshry00:31:01

Renewed energy.

Claudia Oshry00:31:01

Rejuvenated energy, because they got a day off.

Jackie Oshry00:31:04

Yeah. Hopefully. So that's, like, sad for her. I hope that she.

Claudia Oshry00:31:08

It is.

Jackie Oshry00:31:09

Like, gets what she needs, but it might be more of a day.

Claudia Oshry00:31:11

And even if she does get voted off, like, sometimes it's just a blessing.

Jackie Oshry00:31:14

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:31:15

Like.

Jackie Oshry00:31:15

Yeah, like Jen Affleck, even if she doesn't see it that way.

Claudia Oshry00:31:18

Yeah. No, no, and, like, now knowing what we know, like, I wish we didn't advocate for her so hard, because she, like, was being mean to everyone, and, like, she's crazy.

Jackie Oshry00:31:24

Are you ready for our next story?

Claudia Oshry00:31:26

I am.

Jackie Oshry00:31:26

Kim Kardashian's getting candid about the future of her legal career after failing the bar.

Claudia Oshry00:31:30

And you know what? I've been waiting to hear from her on this.

Jackie Oshry00:31:33

So at the New York Season Two premiere of "All Is Fair," she talked about.

Claudia Oshry00:31:36

Which was, like, an influencer affair.

Jackie Oshry00:31:38

Yes.

Claudia Oshry00:31:38

You just knew everyone was there.

Jackie Oshry00:31:40

Yes. She talked about failing the bar. She said, "I never really get embarrassed. I think it's embarrassing for people that don't try to study for the bar, that would ever put me in an embarrassing situation." She added that she's trying her hardest and learning so much, but despite trying her hardest, she's taking a break after last year's attempt.

Claudia Oshry00:31:57

Oh.

Jackie Oshry00:31:58

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:31:58

So this is either, like, the last we'll ever hear about it, or it's a true break.

Jackie Oshry00:32:04

Uh-oh. I mean, it could be a break, but a break could wind up just being, like.

Claudia Oshry00:32:08

Setting you back even further.

Jackie Oshry00:32:09

It could be a break where I'm taking time to think about if I'm coming back to it. It doesn't mean that I'm necessarily coming back.

Claudia Oshry00:32:13

Oh, remember when One Direction went on a break? Like, please, some of us are still waiting.

Jackie Oshry00:32:17

Yeah. A break is oftentimes the end. Like, a breakup.

Claudia Oshry00:32:20

Yeah. Or the beginning of the end.

Jackie Oshry00:32:22

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:32:23

I don't know what to advise Kim here, because I do think, like, this pursuit is noble, but so unnecessary. Like, she can and does make a lot of change without being a lawyer. Like, she has all these people around her, and she's done all this. And it was a really noble effort. But in addition to all the other things she's doing, I feel like for a while it was kind of, like, her only thing.

Jackie Oshry00:32:46

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:32:46

And it was, like, okay, fine, sure, if you want to commit your life, yeah. But, like, with the obsession with acting now and all the movies and the TV shows and then the businesses and Skakai, like, it doesn't it no longer fits.

Jackie Oshry00:33:00

Yeah. I think she'll take a very long break, but I think ultimately she will want to climb this mountain and reach the top, because her biggest thing is people saying she can't do something and having to prove people wrong. And I don't think she can live with the niggling thing of, "I couldn't do that."

Claudia Oshry00:33:17

Yeah. Especially, like, I think she wants to prove to Kourtney that she can. Like, I think Kourtney's one of her biggest ops.

Jackie Oshry00:33:23

Yeah. I think, like, everyone, people made fun of her when she went to the White House, when she was doing legal work, and, like, that is what fuels her in even smaller things. But this is such an obvious, like, failure, because it's an F on the exam.

Claudia Oshry00:33:34

Right. You did not pass.

Jackie Oshry00:33:35

Other things she can say, like, she can now say she acted. I know she wants to go and probably win an Oscar, but still, anyone who said she couldn't act, look.

Claudia Oshry00:33:41

No, she has successfully acted.

Jackie Oshry00:33:42

Number one show on Hulu. This is so black and white, and I don't think she can live with the failure on her resume.

Claudia Oshry00:33:48

But I do think, like, taking such a big break will set her back, like, academically. It's, like, so much information. It's so dense.

Jackie Oshry00:33:55

It sounds.

Claudia Oshry00:33:56

She was, like, in it for years.

Jackie Oshry00:33:57

But the way she was doing it was unsuccessful.

Claudia Oshry00:33:58

It was not worth it.

Jackie Oshry00:33:59

And other people, like, who study for the bar, study for shorter.

Claudia Oshry00:34:02

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:34:02

And get it done. And so maybe it will be, like, she eventually takes a four-month block, not working on anything else, just studying for the bar. Like, I think she will come back to this. Not right now, because she has so much momentum and other things, but, like, she can only do the bar. Like, she shouldn't try and study for the bar while doing other while on set for "All Is Fair."

Claudia Oshry00:34:20

Agreed.

Jackie Oshry00:34:21

And how she was doing it.

Claudia Oshry00:34:22

That season, what was that, last season?

Jackie Oshry00:34:23

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:34:24

It was just, like, genuinely painful to watch.

Jackie Oshry00:34:26

Yeah. And it's a little.

Claudia Oshry00:34:26

And also, like, there's, like, an emotional element too, because of, like, her dad. So yeah, it's unfortunate that it didn't just, like, work out, because, like, she could also stop doing the lawyer stuff or whatever, but if she passed the bar. Like, because that was, like, this thing she.

Jackie Oshry00:34:37

No, it's just she doesn't ever have to work the law day in her life.

Claudia Oshry00:34:40

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:34:40

She has to pass the bar. And if we what we know about her and everything she's shared about her personality, like, she will not let this rest.

Claudia Oshry00:34:47

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:34:47

I do think it will be a very long break, though, until she can come back with a strategy.

Claudia Oshry00:34:53

Yeah. But it's, like, how do you study differently? You had the best tutors in the world. You had a massage and a hotel suite the night. Like, maybe she needs to go to, like, seriously, just, like, one of those classes.

Jackie Oshry00:35:05

Like, regular, like.

Claudia Oshry00:35:06

That regular people do.

Jackie Oshry00:35:07

Get it, like, a tutor.

Claudia Oshry00:35:09

Yeah. I do think maybe also she is at a disadvantage. Like, she's not she doesn't have higher education. Only Kourtney was the one who went to college. So it's, like, yeah, most people who become lawyers, even if they're not, like, the smartest people in the world, they don't have access to, like.

Jackie Oshry00:35:21

They know how to test take.

Claudia Oshry00:35:22

They've been through college.

Jackie Oshry00:35:23

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:35:23

Like, they know are used to doing big readings. Like, maybe not having a higher education is a factor.

Jackie Oshry00:35:30

Maybe.

Claudia Oshry00:35:32

Maybe.

Jackie Oshry00:35:33

Some people just aren't good test takers.

Claudia Oshry00:35:35

That's true as well.

Jackie Oshry00:35:36

Are you?

Claudia Oshry00:35:38

I have not taken a test. But if my academic career is any indication, no, I'm not a good test taker.

Jackie Oshry00:35:48

I'm not a good test taker, but I'm not, like, someone who's, like, "I'm a bad test taker."

Claudia Oshry00:35:51

The thing is, I don't know how to say.

Jackie Oshry00:35:53

I mean, like, I just didn't know enough. Like, I didn't take the test wrong. I just didn't know.

Claudia Oshry00:35:57

Yeah, that's the like, I had poor scoring. Is that because I'm a bad test taker? Maybe. Is it because I literally didn't study or care? Also a possibility.

Jackie Oshry00:36:04

And I think people who, like, identify as a bad test taker, let's dig in on them, because it's, like.

Claudia Oshry00:36:08

Blameless. Like, they just have take no accountability in their life.

Jackie Oshry00:36:11

You just didn't know. It's not like you knew everything.

Claudia Oshry00:36:13

And of course, I'm not talking about to people who are dyslexic.

Jackie Oshry00:36:15

No.

Claudia Oshry00:36:15

They can have learning disabilities.

Jackie Oshry00:36:16

No, of course not. But there are people that are.

Claudia Oshry00:36:19

Just say, like, "I'm such a bad test taker."

Jackie Oshry00:36:20

That don't have a disability, who, like, act, like, they know everything, but when it came to the test, they were, like, bleh, bleh, bleh.

Claudia Oshry00:36:25

Right. Like, maybe you're a bad studier.

Jackie Oshry00:36:27

Maybe you just didn't know it. You didn't know the material.

Claudia Oshry00:36:30

Yeah. Maybe you didn't try hard enough.

Jackie Oshry00:36:31

There's nothing wrong with the test. It's, like.

Claudia Oshry00:36:33

What a savage.

Jackie Oshry00:36:34

Like, assuming it's a pretty straightforward test.

Claudia Oshry00:36:36

Because, like, what would make you a bad test taker, now that I'm, like, digging deep?

Jackie Oshry00:36:40

Just know if someone ever tells you that about themselves, they're full of shit.

Claudia Oshry00:36:44

No, and just expect, like, a lack of accountability from them in all aspects of their life.

Jackie Oshry00:36:47

Yeah. 100 percent.

Claudia Oshry00:36:48

Again, unless they have some sort of learning disability.

Jackie Oshry00:36:52

100 percent. We're just talking about the regular abled people who act like they're geniuses, but they're bad test takers. Sure, Jan.

Claudia Oshry00:37:00

Right, because the geniuses I know actually, like, did good on tests.

Jackie Oshry00:37:03

Right. Right. Where it was just.

Claudia Oshry00:37:05

Many of that worked.

Jackie Oshry00:37:05

Where it was just a test of their acumen.

Claudia Oshry00:37:07

Right, where they ask you the question and you give the answer. So, like, maybe you're not a genius if you can't answer it correctly. Maybe you're legit just dumb. Like, ever thought about that?

Jackie Oshry00:37:15

Yeah. But you're a swindler, though, because you can't just admit that you're dumb. There's nothing wrong with being dumb.

Claudia Oshry00:37:19

Right. Not only are you dumb, but you're manipulative too.

Jackie Oshry00:37:21

Yeah. You have to act, like, "Oh, no, I didn't know it was a test."

Claudia Oshry00:37:24

Yeah. Right, but I'm a bad test taker, whatever that means.

Jackie Oshry00:37:26

Yeah. You're a swindler.

Claudia Oshry00:37:27

Such a good point.

Jackie Oshry00:37:28

You're dumb all day. Like, that's totally fine.

Claudia Oshry00:37:30

There is no shame in being dumb.

Jackie Oshry00:37:32

No.

Claudia Oshry00:37:33

A little shame, but.

Jackie Oshry00:37:34

There's a little bit of shame, but, like, only from self-imposed shame.

Claudia Oshry00:37:37

It's true.

Jackie Oshry00:37:37

Like, nobody, like, cares if you're dumb.

Claudia Oshry00:37:39

Yeah. And it's like, what is dumb? You know?

Jackie Oshry00:37:42

It's relative. Are you ready for our next story?

Claudia Oshry00:37:45

What number?

Jackie Oshry00:37:46

Three.

Claudia Oshry00:37:46

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:37:47

Hailey Bieber is revealing her lonely journey with a health condition following the birth of her son. So Hailey Bieber says she felt alone battling premenstrual dysphoric disorder, PMDD, after giving birth to her son, Jack Blues. She spoke about her diagnosis in a recent interview with Women's Wear Daily. According to the Mayo Clinic, PMDD is a severe extension of premenstrual syndrome, PMS.

Claudia Oshry00:38:08

Oh.

Jackie Oshry00:38:08

So it's a severe extension of PMS that causes extreme mood swings. Behavioral symptoms can include sadness or hopelessness, anxiety, extreme moodiness, irritability, and anger. She said, "After I had my son, I struggled with PMDD a bit, and there's just not a lot of conversation or research about it." She said talking about her struggles had helped her. "Conversation, for me personally, makes me feel less alone. When we can identify with each other and have conversations relating to each other and talking about the things we're dealing with and struggling with, I do think it makes it feel like less of a lonely journey." I would agree with that, especially as a new mama.

Claudia Oshry00:38:38

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:38:39

New mamas need to commiserate with other new mamas or other mamas.

Claudia Oshry00:38:41

She talks openly about she had, like, a very traumatic birth too, and, like, a bad postpartum. And it's, like, she's my sister in pregnancy, and I keep, like, waiting for her to join. But I think, like, she's actually very traumatized from the whole experience and is still healing from it.

Jackie Oshry00:38:55

Do you know what happened in her birth?

Claudia Oshry00:38:57

No, I remember she did an interview in.

Jackie Oshry00:38:59

Was it with the SHEMD?

Claudia Oshry00:39:01

She did do SHEMD podcast, but no, it was a written interview in a magazine. And I don't remember exactly what happened, but it was just, like, you know, like any birth.

Jackie Oshry00:39:08

Yeah, every one.

Claudia Oshry00:39:09

Not standard.

Jackie Oshry00:39:10

Nothing. There's no.

Claudia Oshry00:39:11

It goes wrong. Some things go right. And I think it was very traumatizing.

Jackie Oshry00:39:15

Oh, wow. And then she had extreme PMS and hormones.

Claudia Oshry00:39:19

PMDD.

Jackie Oshry00:39:19

More so than the average.

Claudia Oshry00:39:21

Right.

Jackie Oshry00:39:21

It sounds like. Which, yeah, can be isolating. And I feel like if you don't have a good group of people around you to just, like, talk to you, just commiserate even.

Claudia Oshry00:39:28

Mm-hmm.

Jackie Oshry00:39:28

Just, like, talk about the realities of motherhood.

Claudia Oshry00:39:33

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:39:33

It can be very lonely.

Claudia Oshry00:39:34

She should have talked to Kylie. Kylie's very open about the baby blues.

Jackie Oshry00:39:37

That's true. I wonder if she did. She probably did.

Claudia Oshry00:39:40

She probably did.

Jackie Oshry00:39:41

But, like, a lot of those girls in that circle, like, not a lot of them.

Claudia Oshry00:39:44

No, Hailey's one of, like, the early ones to have babies.

Jackie Oshry00:39:45

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:39:46

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:39:46

Yeah. And it's hard to be the first one.

Claudia Oshry00:39:47

Oh, my God.

Jackie Oshry00:39:48

When you have no idea what it's going to be like.

Claudia Oshry00:39:51

Shout out to my girl, Ana. I think about her all the time. First girl in my friend group to have a baby, like, by years.

Jackie Oshry00:39:56

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:39:56

Doesn't have any sisters. Like, I have like, I wasn't the first in my group, but I have you guys. So, like, if I didn't have, like, my mom friends, I have my sisters. Like, I had plenty. I think about Ana all the time. Like, had no older she has her mom, of course. No older sisters and first in our group.

Jackie Oshry00:40:12

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:40:12

She's such a queen.

Jackie Oshry00:40:13

It's also funny. I don't know if you had this, but I wound up when I, like, had Harriet and it was, like, my first there was, like, a girl who I knew who also gave birth, like, that week. And we just wound up becoming, like, so close, texting every day. We had never really texted before that.

Claudia Oshry00:40:24

Good.

Jackie Oshry00:40:24

I'll tell you.

Claudia Oshry00:40:25

Just, like, whisper like. Oh, yeah, but, like, you knew her.

Jackie Oshry00:40:29

Knew no, no, no, knew her, but maybe a not even, like, a happy birthday text once a year. And, like, we wound up, like, talking for months, just, like, sharing stories and experiences. So it's, like, so nice to find someone who's literally to the day going through what you're going through.

Claudia Oshry00:40:43

Yes. Yes, it does connect. I'm sure Lauren Elena and I would have been, like, like, best friends forever, because we were close before. But no, no, we talk all the time.

Jackie Oshry00:40:50

Yeah. Yeah. That so Lauren Elena is yours?

Claudia Oshry00:40:54

Yes.

Jackie Oshry00:40:54

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:40:54

Because she was, like, a week after me.

Jackie Oshry00:40:56

That's so sweet.

Claudia Oshry00:40:57

Mm-hmm.

Jackie Oshry00:40:57

So it's really nice to have someone like that. And it's if you're, like, a new mama, it doesn't even have to be someone you're already super close with. It can be, like, a girl you know from high school.

Claudia Oshry00:41:05

It's not weird.

Jackie Oshry00:41:06

It's not weird.

Claudia Oshry00:41:07

It's I'm here to tell you it's not weird.

Jackie Oshry00:41:08

Especially if you're both first-time mamas.

Claudia Oshry00:41:10

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:41:10

Like, what is this?

Advertisement00:41:11

You know what? That's a great sponsor in sponsor. That's a great segue into our sponsor today, which is Parallel, as you guys know, a great company for women's health. And I was just talking about their prenatals, which I've been on for quite some time. If you're looking for supplements, either as prenatals or if you're looking to get yourself, like, primed for conception, Parallel is an amazing company. So I've been taking my Parallel for a really long time. They have the Mom Multivitamin, which is, like, for after pregnancy. They have a preconception pack. They have something for your man. They, of course, have prenatals.

It's all tailored to your experience and what phase of life that you're in. I was convinced to switch to Parallel when I realized that they have different vitamins for different trimesters. Like, I don't know. It just felt, like, so thoughtful. Taking one pill every day for, like, almost a year, I don't know. It just it doesn't sound compelling to me. The idea of, like, changing every trimester, taking it is it's a pack, so it's the one that I'm on is five. It has magnesium. My favorite. And I also don't have the energy to, like, source my own pills. Like, yeah, you can make your own, I guess. And then I'm, like, putting them in pill boxes.

Jackie Oshry00:46:58

Thank you, Tartwide. You're thank you, Tartcations nationwide. Thank you.

Claudia Oshry00:47:05

Wide?

Jackie Oshry00:47:06

Tartcations nationwide.

Claudia Oshry00:47:10

Wide. After all that I've been through, like, and you've been there for all of it.

Jackie Oshry00:47:16

I'm so sorry. I it was it was a reflex.

Claudia Oshry00:47:19

Just go. Just read the story and go.

Jackie Oshry00:47:21

Tartcations. Our next story. Jennifer Lawrence channels Katniss Everdeen with an iconic Hunger Games salute while out in New York City. So Jay Law went for her daily stroll in New York City, and not only was she wearing a bracelet.

Claudia Oshry00:47:36

Do you know what is like, do you know what a whistle proper? Now, are you breathing out or breathing in?

Jackie Oshry00:47:45

Out. What about you?

Claudia Oshry00:47:45

Okay, so I don't really know how to whistle. And any time I do, it's because I'm sucking air in, which is wrong.

Jackie Oshry00:47:52

I just think the whistle is the sound. However you get there.

Claudia Oshry00:47:55

How stupid do we look when we whistle?

Jackie Oshry00:47:56

I whistle a little bit, but I wouldn't say I'm an amazing whistler.

Claudia Oshry00:48:00

Okay.

Jackie Oshry00:48:00

But sometimes I'll find myself, like, whistling while I work.

Claudia Oshry00:48:03

Really? Do do do do do do do. This is me blowing out whistle ready. I'm going to do the Hunger Games.

Jackie Oshry00:48:13

It got worse. You did the good one first.

Claudia Oshry00:48:14

That's the yeah, and that's when I suck in.

Jackie Oshry00:48:16

Oh. I think whistle is all about the sound you're emitting and how you get there.

Claudia Oshry00:48:22

Is nobody's business.

Jackie Oshry00:48:23

Is nobody's business.

Claudia Oshry00:48:29

How do you do, like, the lower.

Jackie Oshry00:48:31

That's what I was struggling.

Claudia Oshry00:48:32

Yeah. What an interesting podcast watching people whistle.

Jackie Oshry00:48:41

Whistling is so weird.

Claudia Oshry00:48:43

I don't even know, like, why we get hate. Like, we're so interesting. I wish I could. Like, it's such a slay it's such a people who can go, like, fast and quick and do do do do do do do. Like, whistle while you work. Can you guys even hear us?

Jackie Oshry00:49:01

So Jennifer Lawrence went like this.

Claudia Oshry00:49:03

She put three fingers in the air, and, like, people are freaking. Obviously, like, Hunger Games. I was telling you yesterday.

Jackie Oshry00:49:08

Well, yes. I now I am singing.

Claudia Oshry00:49:09

Mm-hmm.

Jackie Oshry00:49:10

I'm also seeing McKenna Grace, and this was another headline that I wanted to share.

Claudia Oshry00:49:13

Mm-hmm.

Jackie Oshry00:49:13

McKenna Grace, who's, like, the new Katniss.

Claudia Oshry00:49:16

She is the new Katniss. She's, like, officially crowned the It Girl. People are that's what I was trying to tell you yesterday. People are loving her looks. And she has, like, a lot of internet lore because she was, like, a child star and just, like, has been in the industry for a while. And she recently made headlines that, like, are being taken out of context, but she was she's, I guess, an actress who is now of a certain age, and she has, like, decided that she will not be doing.

Jackie Oshry00:49:38

Nudity.

Claudia Oshry00:49:39

Nudity.

Jackie Oshry00:49:39

So she's been turning down roles that require nudity because she has dreams of one day playing a Disney princess. She said, "At this point, I definitely don't do nudity or very hypersexual things. I respect anybody who can, but it's terrifying to me. I don't know if that if that'll ever change. It's not like I only do wholesome things, but my dream is to try and be a Disney princess someday."

Claudia Oshry00:49:57

Now, I didn't even think about it. Can you not be a Disney princess if you've shown Tiddy? Like, I guess not.

Jackie Oshry00:50:02

Well, I get there's probably no written law, but I guess Disney higher-ups would say.

Claudia Oshry00:50:06

Let's talk about recent Disney princesses.

Jackie Oshry00:50:11

No to that. And then also, Variety noted that Amy Adams actually comes to mind because she played Giselle in Enchanted in 2007 and then declined raw cheer movies in the years that followed in order to preserve the image of her for Disney fans.

Claudia Oshry00:50:25

And I just want to say, on a multitude of levels, like, let's talk about the Disney thing. Like, yeah, if you're going to be, like, a kid star, like, you can't be showing Tiddy.

Jackie Oshry00:50:32

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:50:32

Sorry. I think that's just fair. But also, like, on a human level, I think a young girl, like, being scared to get naked, like, not only in the room of people where it's happening, but then be on screen station-wide. Like, yeah, I feel like more people like, I the fact that I've never heard anyone say this take, which is such a normal, relatable take, like, yeah, I would literally rather die. Like, and it's not because I'm, like, modest, it's because, like, I feel awkward and embarrassed.

Jackie Oshry00:50:56

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:50:56

Like, it's such a normal thing for her to say. I'm surprised I've never heard anyone else say it. Like.

Jackie Oshry00:51:01

Well, we only know, like, the guy from Desperate Housewives who won't kiss.

Claudia Oshry00:51:04

Yes. And I know that there are actresses. Actually, up until recently, Jennifer Lawrence was one of them.

Jackie Oshry00:51:08

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:51:09

Who wouldn't do nudity. And then she randomly showed her vagina in that bad movie.

Jackie Oshry00:51:13

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:51:13

Like, she's somebody who does, like and I think that nudity is layered because nudity can be art. It can. Like, when I think of Kate Winslet's.

Jackie Oshry00:51:21

Like, David's Michelangelo.

Claudia Oshry00:51:23

When I think of.

Jackie Oshry00:51:23

Michelangelo's David.

Claudia Oshry00:51:25

Yeah. Hit me, like, one of your French girls. Like, I don't think of Kate Winslet as having done, like, nudity. You know what I mean? It was art. It was, like.

Jackie Oshry00:51:30

She took a nude.

Claudia Oshry00:51:31

Yeah, but I don't think of it and it was only one nipple, actually.

Jackie Oshry00:51:35

She sent nudes.

Claudia Oshry00:51:36

It was only one nipple. It only counts if you saw a nipple. There are layers to it. And I'm sorry. Some are, like, a little bit classier than others. And, like, some like, when Jennifer Lawrence randomly showed her vagina in that rom-com that, like, isn't and she's known for doing, like, high art films, that was really random to me.

Jackie Oshry00:51:54

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:51:55

And to me, I would have considered her somebody who doesn't do nudity. Zendaya doesn't do nudity. She doesn't talk about it either.

Jackie Oshry00:52:00

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:52:00

But she would definitely be eligible for Disney oh, she is Disney.

Jackie Oshry00:52:03

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:52:04

And also.

Jackie Oshry00:52:04

You can see undercover. You can also see it, like, when we're watching a movie and, like, someone's penis or boobs are shown for no reason, and then someone who, like, it brings to mind off campus. Like, we got a lot of ass and titties, but not from.

Claudia Oshry00:52:15

But not from the main characters.

Jackie Oshry00:52:16

Characters.

Claudia Oshry00:52:17

Also, Carrie Bradshaw. Everyone on that show was naked every single episode. You never saw a butt cheek, a nipple, a side boob, nothing.

Jackie Oshry00:52:26

Nothing.

Claudia Oshry00:52:27

That was clearly just, like, a hard line for her.

Jackie Oshry00:52:29

Say it doesn't impact the work at all.

Claudia Oshry00:52:31

Mm-hmm.

Jackie Oshry00:52:32

I wouldn't I didn't even know that fact. Like.

Claudia Oshry00:52:34

Which fact?

Jackie Oshry00:52:35

That Carrie didn't show. Yeah, if I think about it.

Claudia Oshry00:52:38

She was never naked.

Jackie Oshry00:52:39

Carrie's fans and other people were naked, but it doesn't affect like, we don't need so much nudity. Like, it's okay.

Claudia Oshry00:52:45

I completely agree.

Jackie Oshry00:52:46

You don't want to do it. Like, that's fine.

Claudia Oshry00:52:48

And the fact that McKenna Grace, like, has this reason because it's, like, a dream of hers and she doesn't want to do something that would impact a potential dream. And honestly, she's in the Hunger Games. Like, yeah, she could be a Disney star. Like.

Jackie Oshry00:52:57

She looks like one.

Claudia Oshry00:52:57

Yeah. It's not I'm sure she wanted Rapunzel. She looks just like.

Jackie Oshry00:53:01

Who was being Rapunzel?

Claudia Oshry00:53:02

It was, like, a new face.

Jackie Oshry00:53:04

Is it?

Claudia Oshry00:53:04

No, it's not Elle Fanning. It's a, like, a young new face, which is great also. But she could definitely have a future as a Disney princess, but you don't necessarily need a reason to not want to do it.

Jackie Oshry00:53:13

Yeah. Yeah, you don't. But I never even thought about, like, the Disney girlies, not only beforehand because you probably won't get cast, but afterwards. Like, Amy Adams.

Claudia Oshry00:53:20

Sequel.

Jackie Oshry00:53:20

Apparently. She wound up being in a sequel, but also, she was supposed to do an SNL cat sketch that was, like, really dirty.

Claudia Oshry00:53:26

Mm-hmm.

Jackie Oshry00:53:26

And she said, "That's really funny, but I can't do that. Little girls are so obsessed with Enchanted right now. They'll find this, and it will be scarring for them. I just can't mix that right now."

Claudia Oshry00:53:37

Yes. Like.

Jackie Oshry00:53:38

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:53:38

Normalize just, like, like, not wanting to be gross too. Like, that's okay also.

Jackie Oshry00:53:43

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:53:43

Like, outside of nudity. Like.

Jackie Oshry00:53:44

No, it's just.

Claudia Oshry00:53:45

Some are just wanting to be, like, a good role model.

Jackie Oshry00:53:48

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:53:48

For the youth.

Jackie Oshry00:53:49

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:53:50

Seventh Heaven energy.

Jackie Oshry00:53:51

Yeah. I this, like, feels so.

Claudia Oshry00:53:54

Radical?

Jackie Oshry00:53:54

No, it feels like from a different time. Like, no one's even saying stuff like this anymore.

Claudia Oshry00:53:58

Yeah. We have, like, reached peak nudity in terms of TV and film.

Jackie Oshry00:54:03

You think it's peak? I don't think it's peak.

Claudia Oshry00:54:05

It's the peak of so far in my lifetime.

Jackie Oshry00:54:07

I'm like, but I think it keeps going up.

Claudia Oshry00:54:08

It's insane. Like, the amount of really unnecessary and I love a beautiful love scene. And that's what I really liked about the love hypothesis. I think I said that too. It is, like, one of those, like, erotic books, but they really didn't make it that and it was, like, a beautiful love scene with this guy she fell in love with. Like, it's nice. Like, not to be, like, such a Karen, but, like.

Jackie Oshry00:54:25

No, it can be nice. There are so many, like.

Claudia Oshry00:54:28

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:54:28

Things that are nice.

Claudia Oshry00:54:29

So.

Jackie Oshry00:54:30

It feels like we've reached peak.

Claudia Oshry00:54:32

It's never going to end.

Jackie Oshry00:54:33

Yeah. And they do it just to do it. It's like nobody's nothing's happening, and it's like, here's some anal.

Claudia Oshry00:54:37

And then I also right. I think also, in an attempt to, like, balance it out because it was, like, all when we talk about nudity, we talk about women. It's always boobs and, like, sometimes a man's ass cheek. So I think in an attempt to, like, balance it out, we started seeing penises. And it's like, well, now we're just seeing everyone's penises and vaginas. Like, it wasn't a good faith effort, but now it's like there's penises everywhere.

Jackie Oshry00:54:56

Yeah, they were doing it, like, for women's rights.

Claudia Oshry00:54:58

Yes, right.

Jackie Oshry00:54:58

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:54:59

It's like because a man's nipple is not the same as a woman's nipple.

Jackie Oshry00:55:01

Right. But, like, yeah. So, like, boobs are the same category, and penis and vagina are the same category, but, like, we're seeing boobs and nothing else, and that doesn't feel balanced.

Claudia Oshry00:55:08

Right. So then we're also now seeing penises because what do men have to offer? Their boobs don't count.

Jackie Oshry00:55:12

Yeah. So they're trying to help the women.

Claudia Oshry00:55:14

Right. And now everyone's naked.

Jackie Oshry00:55:15

Now we have to see everyone's penis.

Claudia Oshry00:55:16

And I can't watch TV on a plane anymore because it's embarrassing.

Jackie Oshry00:55:19

Yeah. Agreed.

Claudia Oshry00:55:21

I'm glad we agree on that.

Jackie Oshry00:55:22

Are you ready for our Fifth Mind story?

Claudia Oshry00:55:24

Mm-hmm.

Jackie Oshry00:55:25

Denise Richards is fueling Real Housewives of Beverly Hills speculation with her surprising cast trip reveal.

Claudia Oshry00:55:29

Mm-hmm.

Jackie Oshry00:55:30

So Denise Richards has revealed that she filmed for the Season 16 cast trip of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She also said that she will appear in several episodes of the upcoming season.

Claudia Oshry00:55:39

Well, I guess as long as Lisa Rena is not there, like, why wouldn't she not?

Jackie Oshry00:55:42

But I just feel like if Denise Richards is coming back, like, Rena has to be there. So, like, Rena has to apologize.

Claudia Oshry00:55:49

Help be held accountable.

Jackie Oshry00:55:49

Because it's like, yeah, we could all be like, "Oh, yeah, Denise, we always loved you." But, like, she still deserves an apology, and the apology starts with Rena.

Claudia Oshry00:55:55

Well, Rena has just recently said she will never return to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Jackie Oshry00:55:59

Right.

Claudia Oshry00:55:59

Which is easy for her to say because she's having a career high, like, coming off of Traitors, and she's, like, very in inner circle in fashion, and her daughter's, like, these huge models. So, like, it might not always be that way because I think when she accepted Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, that wasn't the case.

Jackie Oshry00:56:11

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:56:11

She's a hustler, like she says. So she's having a peak right now. She doesn't need it, but, you know, that might not.

Jackie Oshry00:56:15

No, but I could see there are other things that you can do now in a valley when you want to restore your career.

Claudia Oshry00:56:23

You know, you don't have to go back to the rock.

Jackie Oshry00:56:24

She could do Dancing with the Stars.

Claudia Oshry00:56:25

Absolutely. And she has been sort of catapulted to a new tier of celebrity that before, when she was just sort of, like, out-of-work actress, part-time host, her having a valley, like, how are you paying your bills?

Jackie Oshry00:56:35

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:56:35

But her valleys now is, like, she's still she's very she's a professional.

Jackie Oshry00:56:39

And she's employable for a lot of the things that are going on right now, like Traitors.

Claudia Oshry00:56:42

Yes. Yes, Dancing with the Stars.

Jackie Oshry00:56:43

So maybe at that time, it felt like Housewives was her ticket out, and it was.

Claudia Oshry00:56:48

It was.

Jackie Oshry00:56:48

But now there are other tickets because you are a former housewife and a former reality star.

Claudia Oshry00:56:53

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:56:53

And also, like, her husband does really well, and her girls are doing really well. And I know she's a hustler, and she always wants to work, but as you get older, like, things might change.

Claudia Oshry00:57:00

Yeah, that's true.

Jackie Oshry00:57:01

And.

Claudia Oshry00:57:01

I would love to see Denise come back. She had one of the worst stints on Real Housewives ever.

Jackie Oshry00:57:06

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:57:07

Like, I'm trying to think of who came and went so quickly and so poorly. Like, Crash and Burn, and now I feel like she's come out on top because, like, the fandom turned on Lisa Rena, who was her op. She got divorced. So, like, that just makes you interesting, and her husband, like, was kind of crazy.

Jackie Oshry00:57:21

And you can sort of, like, blame all the problems you were having on the show and walking away.

Claudia Oshry00:57:23

Because he was very involved.

Jackie Oshry00:57:24

And you can blame that all on the husband. Like, "Oh, I was being this way because I had a bad husband."

Claudia Oshry00:57:27

But I just want to say, like, was it only Denise? It was also Erica. So, like, if she did come back, like, Erica.

Jackie Oshry00:57:32

Rena wasn't.

Claudia Oshry00:57:33

Sorry. It wasn't only Rena. It was also Erica. They were, like, a little bit of a tag team.

Jackie Oshry00:57:36

Yes, but they had a lovely conversation last season on Beverly Hills.

Claudia Oshry00:57:39

Oh, yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:57:40

And they.

Claudia Oshry00:57:40

And also, her and Rena have this, like, really big history.

Jackie Oshry00:57:43

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:57:44

Erica was just a random cast member.

Jackie Oshry00:57:45

Erica was just Rena's friend.

Claudia Oshry00:57:46

Yeah. I would love to see her come back if only just to, like, rectify the situation. She was great. I want to hear more about her facelift and her crazy-ass husband.

Jackie Oshry00:57:55

Yeah. Her face looks amazing.

Claudia Oshry00:57:57

Her face looks insane. And she's really open about it. Like.

Jackie Oshry00:57:59

Yeah. Well, she talked about, like, something that happened in her marriage when she was recovering from her facelift.

Claudia Oshry00:58:04

Oh, yeah.

Jackie Oshry00:58:05

That was so upsetting.

Claudia Oshry00:58:06

Is that when he was physically abusive?

Jackie Oshry00:58:08

Yeah, when she was literally, like, post-op one day, like, a face falling off.

Claudia Oshry00:58:12

Right. Right. No, she is this, like, inherently interesting woman.

Jackie Oshry00:58:15

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:58:16

I would love to see her back. Kyle outed her. Like, they all owe I'm sorry. It's not just Rena. They all owe her an apology. And then Kyle end up you being, like having a struggle with her sexuality and refusing to talk about it.

Jackie Oshry00:58:27

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:58:27

And everyone has to respect that, but you're over here outing Brandi and.

Jackie Oshry00:58:31

Denise.

Claudia Oshry00:58:31

Denise. That was a like, literally, she had such a bad showing.

Jackie Oshry00:58:35

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry00:58:35

And it was such a get for Bravo.

Jackie Oshry00:58:38

They paid her more than they've ever paid anyone.

Claudia Oshry00:58:39

$4 million for two seasons.

Jackie Oshry00:58:41

Mm-hmm.

Claudia Oshry00:58:41

Like, was it worth it? Honestly, no.

Jackie Oshry00:58:43

No, it wasn't, but I'm glad at least she got paid, like, for the waste of time.

Claudia Oshry00:58:46

Just so she could give half of it to her loser husband who, like, claims he's carrying cancer and everybody's following him around in black SUVs, like, with unmarked vehicles and tinted windows. Like.

Jackie Oshry00:58:56

Yeah. So that's the stories that you need to know.

Claudia Oshry00:59:00

I would agree that your summation of random celebrity news was 100% correct.

Jackie Oshry00:59:05

Like, post-election day news, I don't think we could really ask for more.

Claudia Oshry00:59:09

So you can't always get a Tom and an Erica.

Jackie Oshry00:59:11

No.

Claudia Oshry00:59:11

Sometimes you get a Denise, and that's fine.

Jackie Oshry00:59:13

Sometimes you get what did we talk about?

Claudia Oshry00:59:16

What did we talk about? Dancing with the Stars, Tatiana.

Jackie Oshry00:59:19

I know.

Claudia Oshry00:59:19

Came in the bar.

Jackie Oshry00:59:20

Came in the bar. Hailey.

Claudia Oshry00:59:22

Uh-huh.

Jackie Oshry00:59:22

And Hunger Games.

Claudia Oshry00:59:24

Hunger Games.

Jackie Oshry00:59:24

JLo Warber Braid. Yeah. It's post-election.

Claudia Oshry00:59:27

Oh, we didn't talk about the fact that JLo did this thing. We, like, bros passed that.

Jackie Oshry00:59:30

Yeah. She's, you know.

Claudia Oshry00:59:32

She's in her, like, era of, like, appealing to the public because once you launch a brand.

Jackie Oshry00:59:35

It's been massive. Yeah, you need customers.

Claudia Oshry00:59:36

And you don't have the luxury of what she's always had, which is, like, not having to give anything of her personality. Anything we've gotten from JLo in the last decade is just because she wanted to give it to us.

Jackie Oshry00:59:45

Did you see that they explained the degree?

Claudia Oshry00:59:47

No.

Jackie Oshry00:59:48

Oh, I posted it to my story. Let me pull up.

Claudia Oshry00:59:51

Who's they?

Jackie Oshry00:59:51

The mess degree people.

Claudia Oshry00:59:52

Was I right about the science?

Jackie Oshry00:59:54

Not in yes and no. Yes, and there's more.

Claudia Oshry00:59:56

Okay.

Jackie Oshry00:59:57

Sorry. Yes, but wait. There's more. Hold on. I've got to find this critical piece of information.

Claudia Oshry01:00:04

Titillating stuff. I went and switched sweaters. It's fine.

Jackie Oshry01:00:07

Oh. I was excited. We've never done that.

Claudia Oshry01:00:10

Maybe tomorrow, like, I'll just wear that sweater, and you'll just wear this one.

Jackie Oshry01:00:13

Well, we literally do that, like, organically.

Claudia Oshry01:00:15

Yeah.

Jackie Oshry01:00:16

But we never had a live switch. We live switch.

Claudia Oshry01:00:18

I said switch.

Jackie Oshry01:00:20

But we never had a live switch. Okay, here it is.

Speaker 401:00:24

Where are you going?

Claudia Oshry01:00:25

Goodbye. I'm done.

Speaker 401:00:27

Are you ready?

Claudia Oshry01:00:27

This is my co-founder.

Speaker 401:00:28

Co-founder. Do you know what that means? I always imagined having a hairline called mess. And, you know, I.

Claudia Oshry01:00:35

Oh, it's a trademark issue, right?

Jackie Oshry01:00:37

That's what.

Speaker 401:00:37

That was always kind of the name.

Jackie Oshry01:00:39

In it, yes.

Speaker 401:00:39

In my heart. But, you know, we had to go through the process of trying to find the name. We hired this big company, you know, thousands of names. We spent, what, two and a half years trying to think of the name.

Jackie Oshry01:00:51

Two and a half years.

Speaker 401:00:52

To end up right back at mess.

Claudia Oshry01:00:54

Because Jen was like, "This is what I want to call it." And I was like, "Life is messy."

Jackie Oshry01:00:58

Yeah.

Claudia Oshry01:00:58

Like, the philosophy goes so much deeper than hair. We were designing the logo, and this was a total coincidence, but the logo ended up being designed with that S.

Jackie Oshry01:01:06

Fourteenths here.

Speaker 401:01:06

And then the degree symbol at the top. When we saw it, we were like, "Oh," because S with the degree symbol is, like, standard entropy. Why don't you explain what entropy? I could, but I choose not to. The measure of disorder in a system. Almost like the scientific word for mess, and I thought, "Oh, how poetic it is."

Claudia Oshry01:01:24

That's right.

Speaker 401:01:24

And I remember actually explaining this to her.

Jackie Oshry01:01:26

That's turn it off. The S degree is for the entropy.

Claudia Oshry01:01:30

And S degree also happens to mean mess in science.

Jackie Oshry01:01:34

In science. Yes.

Claudia Oshry01:01:35

Got it. Okay. I'm whatever, like, the intended effect of JLo's, like, new images, it's having the opposite effect on me. But maybe I'm just, like, hormonal. I'm pregnant and, like, not receptive to, like, cutesy little, like, hair products. Hating everything.

Jackie Oshry01:01:49

Okay, entropy.

Claudia Oshry01:01:52
