The Trump regime hosted the G20 foreign minister meeting in Atlanta, and it was a total disaster. There was no joint photo with the G20 members. Why? Because the Trump regime invited Sergey Lavrov, Russia's foreign minister, and the G20 members did not want to be in the photo with Russia's foreign minister Lavrov. Also, there was no joint statement that was issued from this G20 foreign ministers meeting.

So there was a "statement from the chair," as it was called, that was issued, which is basically a statement from Marco Rubio. The U.S. was hosting this event, but when you read the statement, it was like an indictment and an attack on the Trump regime's policy. I'll go through with you this "statement from the chair," which read as, like, the biggest criticism of the U.S. foreign policy. So let's take a look at that in a moment, but first, let's just start off with this photo right here that left most G20 members feeling very uncomfortable.

You had Russia's foreign minister Sergey Lavrov at the cocktail hour, where most of the G20 foreign ministers who were there did not want to be anywhere near him. You did have Saudi Arabia's foreign minister, who was hanging out with Sergey Lavrov, and then you had Marco Rubio, the U.S. secretary of state, right there with Lavrov. All buddy-buddy. Ukraine was not invited to this foreign ministers meeting, not even to be on the sidelines of it.

You saw right there the Saudi Arabian foreign minister with Sergey Lavrov. They met on the sidelines in Atlanta of the G20. Also, Putin was invited to be at the main G20 leaders meeting at Doral—uh, Doral, Florida, Donald Trump's golf course—in mid-December. So normally with these G20s, there's what's called the family photo, the group photo, showing how multilateral relations are normal and things are working and there's a stable global order.

Well, that didn't take place. Most of the G20 members were protesting the invitation of Russia's foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, while the catastrophic war in Ukraine continues to escalate. When Sergey Lavrov was given the opportunity to speak at the G20 foreign ministers meeting, well, here is what he said: "Poland should not be a member of the G20. Their economy, their people, their culture—Sergey Lavrov attacked it all and basically, you know, making the claim that, you know, Russia still controls all of Eastern Europe."

And that's what the implication was of Lavrov here, which was an attack and an affront to the sovereignty, is what a lot of the European countries said. Why are you having, you know, Lavrov here? Here's what Sergey Lavrov said: "Firstly, in terms of size of its economy, Poland doesn't fall into the category of countries that should be here. Secondly, they claim to represent Eastern Europe. There's no such concept of Eastern Europe. There's the European Union, whose policies are sufficiently represented in the G20 by France, Germany, and Britain.

But what is Eastern Europe? That is not a thing." That's what Sergey Lavrov is saying. Because if you listen to what a lot of people who are studying this region know, Russia's ambitions are not just Ukraine; it's all of Eastern Europe, because they say, "That's Russia. You have Europe, you have Russia, and that's where things should be. We therefore see no need," Lavrov says, to add another European voice, "particularly one that's far from constructive."

You know the positions Poland regularly takes at international events. So Lavrov, not just, you know, being a passive observer, making it very clear that he wants the Trump regime to ban countries from being at the G20. Now, you had Marco Rubio then had to, like, respond to that and praise the involvement of Poland at the G20, because this became a major conflict from within. And then, in addition to there not being a joint photo or the family photo, there was no joint statement either.

Instead, there was just a "statement by the chair," as it was called. The U.S. G20 presidency, Marco Rubio—because he's the foreign minister, he's the secretary of state, which is like the foreign minister level—released a chair statement in Atlanta saying, "Food and agricultural trade must not be used as a tool for economic or political coercion, and energy flows must stay secure and uninterrupted." As I noted at the outset, it's like an indictment on the Trump regime.

Let me just read for you parts of this "statement from the chair" by Marco Rubio, which is like an attack on the United States here. The "statement from the chair" is basically an indictment on U.S. foreign policy. Let's take a look at it right here. Here's what it says. This is from Marco Rubio: "The G20 foreign ministers met in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 30 and October 31, 2026, in the 250th year of the United States' independence. The U.S. presidency has pursued taking the G20 back to basics."

And then it goes on and says, "Energy security. Every country is sensitive to the price of energy. Every time there is an increase in the price of gasoline, the cost of natural gas to heat a home, or the electricity to power our digital lives, the cost of energy is felt by everyone. No country can have prosperity without energy. Far too often, governments have placed barriers to energy production and punished their own people with higher costs. This is why it is not enough to have access to energy.

It is important that energy be abundant, and access for everyone is affordable. These conditions promote productivity, strengthen industry, improve energy security, and increase economic growth. It is also vital that countries build the infrastructure to develop and deploy the energy systems of the future. Abundant energy is the backbone of a booming economy and the foundation of enduring prosperity. Energy is a foundational requirement for economic progress. Too often, misguided policies in one part of the world have stifled energy access in another part of the world.

Ben Meiselas00:06:46

At the same time, global energy demand keeps increasing as economies grow, driven by a range of factors, including population growth, economic development, industrialization, etc." But they're saying over there, misguided policies in one part of the world have stifled energy across the other. Yeah, the Trump regime's catastrophic war in Iran has stifled energy access throughout the entire world right now. That's the world energy crisis. So you have Marco Rubio putting that in the statement right over there.

Then he goes on to say, "Every country is on its own energy path, and each country's needs will demand different energy sources. One country should not be constrained by what another country decides to use. Every country is entitled to make its own sovereign choices." You literally invaded Venezuela and stole their oil and stole their energy. What are you talking about? You launched a catastrophic war in Iran, and Donald Trump is bragging, "We're going to control all of their oil, and we're going to take it, and it's going to be ours, and we're going to get rich."

And this is the statement you're putting in the G20? I mean, again, it's an indictment on the Trump regime. Then it goes and says, "Supply chain resilience. Global supply chains are crucial for modern societies to thrive. Basic materials like fertilizer are essential for food production and security. Raw materials are necessary for basic manufacturing, and critical minerals are crucial for energy security, advanced manufacturing, and emerging technologies. It is important that G20 members improve the resilience of these supply chains, and it begins with sharing more information, improving transparency, and mobilizing investments.

Updating the permitting process and regulations can further expand supply chain inefficiency." Yes, the Trump regime destroyed the supply chain of potash, of fertilizers, of LNG, of LPG, of all of these resources by engaging in these catastrophic wars. It then goes on to say, "Geopolitical tensions. The world has felt the effects of significant global energy disruptions in 2026. It is important to secure resilient and uninterrupted energy flows, including safe navigation and transit passage through international waterways, and security of critical infrastructure and essential global economic stability and energy security.

Further, weaponization of normal food supply chain is an increasingly frequent challenge within the trading system, whereby a government takes targeted action to slow, stop, or block the trade of food in order to exert coercive pressure over another foreign country or an unrelated geopolitical issue." Yes, your blockade on Cuba is preventing the civilians of Cuba from getting food and from getting oil to the civilians. The same thing, your blockade on Iran is a blockade against the civilians from getting medical supplies and food and critical resources.

Again, this statement that Marco Rubio published, which, by the way, doesn't mention Iran by name, it says nothing about Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It says nothing about the war in Ukraine or the war in Iran. It doesn't even mention these names at all, but it talks about the problems created in the world that were caused by the United States. Then it talks has a section about sports diplomacy. So from the perspective of, this is the United States in this forum trying to exert, like, leadership?

Like, what the hell is this even supposed to be right here? No group photo, no joint statement. Then the statement that was issued from Marco Rubio is completely at odds with what Donald Trump is saying. And so all the other countries who are reading this must be like, this is like, what is up with this weak and pathetic and bizarre regime? And frankly, it's as if Russia crafted that statement, right? It's as if Russia was the one who freaking drafted that thing. No mention of Ukraine, no mention of Iran, no mention of, of freaking anything.

So then you have Marco Rubio, after that statement is issued, he takes questions from the press, and then he just beclowns himself. And the United States—let me show you what happened. A reporter goes and asks Marco Rubio, "Hey, Rubio, Trump keeps on saying that Denmark gave the United States Greenland, that the U.S. now owns it, and that Denmark gave it as a gift, and that the U.S. owns it. What's your response to that?" And Marco Rubio is like, "Uh, I'm not sure.

I don't know that statement." Here, play this clip.

Speaker 200:11:30

Some time ago, an agreement was made between the U.S., Denmark, and Greenland regarding Greenland and the Arctic up there. And for the last couple of weeks, the President has been very active in on the campaign trail, saying that he was very glad that Denmark gave Greenland to the U.S. And that is being perceived a little differently in Denmark and in Greenland. So has the President misunderstood the agreement that was made? Or has the people of Denmark and Greenland misunderstood?

Ben Meiselas00:12:01

Yeah, I'm not sure what comments you're referring to, and I certainly haven't followed how it's been covered in Denmark. Suffice it to say we have a very good deal, one the President is fully apprised of. He understands and is very supportive of it. And it builds on what we've done there for a long time. But one of the most important things that it does is it ensures that never do we have to worry about, irrespective of the decision Greenland makes, if they one day go independent or stay, continue to be a part of the Kingdom of Denmark, it will never have to worry about it being a place where a potential adversary, through commercial means, can gain access to things that would be harmful to any of our countries.

I think just from a strategic standpoint and where it is geographically, which is what the President has always focused on when it comes to Greenland, is.

Speaker 300:12:40

Really? Because as Marco Rubio was saying, that Donald Trump posted an AI image of the Earth where the country of Greenland became a gigantic military base of the United States with a gigantic runway. That's what Trump posted on his social media platform. But I'll just show you from this past week, Marco Rubio, I could show you 100 versions of this in the past, you know, whatever, 20 days when Donald Trump's been speaking. But I'll just show you this one. This is from October 24, where Donald Trump just said, "Denmark was so great.

They gave us Greenland." Here, play this clip.

Speaker 200:13:18

Why not Denmark? You know, by the way, Denmark was so great. They gave us Greenland. You do know that. You don't read about it. We're working with them very closely.

Speaker 300:13:30

So you don't know that, Rubio? You don't know that he's going? Of course you do. You're just a pathetic liar. And then Rubio's doing all this, like, weird stuff with his mouth and itching and scratching, and his mouth looks so dry, and the nose, and he's sniffling. It's so bizarre. So then Marco Rubio is asked about the Ukraine war, and he says, "I don't think I'm not really sure peace can be achievable." Watch what he says here. Play this clip.

Speaker 400:13:55

What makes you believe that negotiated peace is achievable? Thanks so much.

Ben Meiselas00:13:59

Well, I don't know if negotiated peace is achievable in Ukraine. That's what we're trying to find out. But I don't think anyone here is claiming that we're on the verge of a negotiated settlement. I think what I can say to you is that the United States, you know, we have people that basically, you know, Jared and Steve as an example, work on this portfolio almost full-time between that and Iran. That's all they focus on.

Speaker 300:14:17

Now, as Marco Rubio said, that Donald Trump was being interviewed by right-wing propagandist Benny Johnson, and Donald Trump said, "Now, we're actually really close to doing a deal. We're so close to doing a deal." Here, play this clip.

Speaker 500:14:29

You mentioned Iran. There's a lot of rumors about the G20 at Trump Diraal in December, that you might be bringing Russia and Ukraine together, maybe some type of larger peace deal, peace agreement. Can you give us some data on that?

Speaker 600:14:39

Well, I think we're getting very close to making a deal there, and I haven't been saying that. I wasn't saying that initially. The hatred was tremendous between the two leaders, as you know. But I think there's a real good chance we're going to have that one worked out also. We're working out a lot of deals.

Speaker 300:14:52

All right. Then Marco Rubio said, "You know, when it comes to Russia, we should be very careful. They possess a large number of nuclear weapons. Remember that they have a huge nuclear arsenal." And again, as I said, this G20 was like a propaganda fast for Russia. Here, play this clip.

Ben Meiselas00:15:09

With them. And that, apart from that, is the fact that Russia possesses a large number of nuclear weapons. Perhaps people don't remember that, but we would remind you that I think it is important. No matter what, putting everything else aside, it is always important that the United States and Russia have communications at some level because of the danger of escalation in the future, if God forbid something were to go wrong. So.

Speaker 300:15:31

More from Marco Rubio over here, where he says, "We live in a world in which a country is openly saying, 'We'll blow up commercial ships.'" Think about that. That sounds like something from 100 years ago. Watch what Rubio said. Play this clip.

Ben Meiselas00:15:45

For countries represented at that table. We live in a world in which a country is openly, you know, a regime is openly saying, "We will blow up commercial ships." Think about that, okay? Think about the world we now live in. It sounds like something from 100 years ago or 80 years ago. That's what's happening, and every country there is challenged. As far as the.

Speaker 300:16:02

Actually, it's Donald Trump who said that. This is Donald Trump saying, "We're like pirates. We blow up ships. We could do whatever we want." By the way, while the Trump regime is blowing up fishing boats in Venezuela and killing random fishermen and then saying they're narco-traffickers, which there's no evidence to support that, while you prop up the biggest narco regimes all throughout South America. Here, play this clip.

Speaker 600:16:25

And there was no response. "Turn your ship around. Evacuate your engine room immediately." And you see all these guys running out of there. Now, they're five miles away, and one shot into the engine room, blew up the engine room. The ship stopped. They used tugboats, and then we landed on top of it. On top of everything else, we then land on top of it, and we took over the ship. We took over the cargo, took over the oil. It's a very profitable business. Who would have thought we were doing that?

We're like pirates. We're sort of like pirates. But we're not playing games because, you know, for 47 years, Iran has been pushing everybody around there.

Speaker 300:17:07

More from Marco Rubio right over here, where he basically concedes that the Trump regime is going to lose the House and the Senate on Tuesday. Play this clip.

Ben Meiselas00:17:16

Normal administrations have played that in the past. The President, you know, the previous President Biden had a Republican Senate to deal with at one point. President Obama had to deal with a Republican majority at some point as well during his. So it's not unique to have divided power in our system, and we've always had a foreign policy.

Speaker 300:17:34

And then we heard from Kaja Kallas, who's basically the number two at the European Union Commission, the Vice President and Foreign Minister. And then she says, "Look, we just didn't want to take photos with the Russians. We didn't want to take photos with Lavrov, so we didn't." Here, play this clip.

Speaker 500:17:50

You mentioned Sergei Lavrov, who is under international sanctions. And I'm curious what your understanding is of why he is present at this meeting. Has that been explained to you to your satisfaction?

Speaker 700:18:02

Well, it is, of course, for the host country to decide. For us, it is very clear. Our policy hasn't changed. Our policy is clear that, you know, since they started this war, Sergei Lavrov, like you said, is also under international sanctions. So that's why we don't really want to stand, you know, next to him on this forum. But he is there, so it is also good that he's presenting these lies, and we can also sort of immediately fight back on these lies.

Does it make a difference there? Maybe not, but it is important that we don't let these false narratives really flow.
