Episode summary

Ben and Brett break down the Democratic sweep in the 2026 midterm elections and the turmoil that followed in the Trump administration, including the resignation of DOJ Civil Rights chief Harmeet Dhillon and calls to impeach Pete Hegseth. They discuss whether lame-duck Republicans will break with Trump, JD Vance's efforts to distance himself from the war in Iran, and the CENTCOM podcast that drew criticism.

The hosts also argue that the war and the moves by Russia and China are reshaping global alliances, and they examine state-level wins, young male voters and independents. Their views are presented as commentary on these developments.

This MeidasTouch episode on the midterm fallout and the Iran war was made with the technology HappyScribe built to turn videos into text.

Ben00:00:00

A big episode of the MeidasTouch Podcast coming up after a big victory on election night, the historic night that we all had been hoping for. Did it meet your expectations? Did it exceed your expectations? We told you to prepare for that blue tsunami, and oh boy, did a blue tsunami hit this country. First headline: Democrats win big, and the wins just keep on coming. We'll talk more about some of the latest wins.

Is Mississippi finally going to be called for Scott Colome? What's going to happen with that Lauren Boebert seat in Colorado? Is that about to be called? More Democrat wins being racked up. We'll talk about that. Meanwhile, you see Donald Trump's aides resigning: Harmeet Dhillon, the civil rights chief, or the anti-civil rights chief, whatever you want to call her at the Department of Justice. She has resigned. We believe that's just the beginning. There were rumors that Secretary of State Rubio was contemplating his resignation.

He claims he isn't, but he also lies about every damn thing. You had Marco Rubio saying the catastrophic war in Iran is to blame for the catastrophic loss that MAGA Republicans faced. Let's talk about what's going on with the turmoil in the Oval Office. Lots of people saying Susie Wiles needs to go. Pete Hegseth, is he about to get impeached next week when the House comes back into session? A lame duck with lots of angry ducks. Lots of angry lame ducks. These MAGA Republicans are coming back pissed off.

They lost their jobs. Trump cost a lot of them their jobs. So are they finally going to find that spine, or are they still going to talk about men's behinds with Donald Trump? We'll see. We'll see. But Democrats seem very confident that they'll be able. The things I have to say in this Trump regime error is just fricking wild. But Democrats feel very confident, especially a lot of the veterans I've been talking to, that they're going to have him impeached early next week. You have CENTCOM's Admiral Brad Cooper making a big announcement.

CENTCOM launched a podcast where Admiral Brad Cooper talks about how he's a French fry guy. He loves those French fries. He thought that he would share that right now as this catastrophic war in Iran comes closer to even more escalation. Donald Trump says it's actually not a war, it's a U.S.-led occupation of Iran to seize their oil and to subjugate their people. The exact words Donald Trump just used in the Oval Office is, "This is a U.S.-led occupation, everybody, and they're going to welcome us in, and we're going to win this catastrophic war with Trump's psychic injury that he's such a freaking loser and the whole entire country has rebuked him."

There is this idea, even within the psychiatric community, that that's when we're at the biggest risk of Donald Trump lashing out and doing a World War III style event. So we're very focused on that while CENTCOM is focused on launching a podcast. You also had the top Russian aide, or one of the top Russian aides, to Putin. Kirill Dmitriev, he was in the Oval Office with Melania Trump. She praised Russia as being this great humanitarian country, and she boltsides the issue and basically said Ukraine was stealing all of these Russian children.

And yeah, Russia took Ukrainian kids, but she's the one who's doing these swaps. And meanwhile, you have Ukraine's President Zelensky saying, "Actually, Russia stole our Ukrainian children, and now they're fighting in war against Ukraine, and they're getting killed in the war when they're Ukrainian kids who were kidnapped." But Melania is out there praising Russia, and she's like, "Look what I did. I was Oleshky. Look what I did in Oleshky." You have really the only Trump surrogate right now defending this regime is like Lara Trump. She's out there saying some deranged stuff.

And Donald Trump's two public events in the past 48 hours, one was in the ballroom where, again, he just looked deeply sick and unwell. And then today he held a press conference in the Oval Office, declaring the Oval Office a historical landmark so that it couldn't be touched, so that future presidents would have to exist in his piss, essentially, whatever the hell that the Cheesecake Factory meets Saddam Hussein's Iraq. We'll talk about that and more on this podcast.

Brett, my cellist. Good to see you, brother Brett. How are you?

Brett00:04:25

Good to see you too. Jordy's doing some family stuff tonight, so it's just going to be me and Ben. I am doing well. We're witnessing the crash out right now of Trump and MAGA, this whole regime, and they're all looking for people to blame, and they never want to blame the person who deserves all the blame and the person who clearly has not gotten the message of the midterms, Donald Trump, because even today, his first move yesterday, of course, was to do the tour of the ballroom and to be talking about the ballroom. Today he's talking about the Oval Office and the ballroom and all of his other projects.

I mean, speak about not getting the friggin' message from the midterms at all. These Republicans have to be cringing. And while Donald Trump is in the Oval Office going, "In the Oval Office, we're going to make it gold, and we're going to keep it this way forever, and this is my biggest and most important focus right now," when he's saying that, I just can't help but think, like, this guy is almost trying to push forth an extinction-level event for the Republican Party. Like, it's not learning any of the lessons, and it's leaning into all the things that have pissed people off so much.

Leaning into the distractions of the ballroom and all this other crap, leaning into more war. It's like he has every horrific instinct right now, and you get a sense that the guy really doesn't know what to do. Like, he's really, really, really been beat down by these results.

Ben00:05:46

You know, look, the gerrymander that Trump and the MAGA Republicans did proved to be a dummy mander. Every single gerrymander district the MAGA Republicans lost. And I think it's important to note that we've said this before, that Donald Trump's fascism and authoritarianism, fortunately, is matched by his utter incompetence and gross recklessness as well. He can't implement the authoritarianism because he's also an idiot. But that also has massive ramifications internationally as well, where he gets you involved in a catastrophic war in Iran with Netanyahu, and you see our military bases in the region destroyed.

Our entire military has been depleted. Our interceptors have been depleted. Our ammunitions in general have been depleted. And you see other countries organizing in ways to create a new security architecture in the Middle East. And so Donald Trump, who couldn't do a gerrymander architecture, Donald Trump, who threatens $10 billion lawsuits, then runs scared when his deposition is noticed by the BBC, this is the same loser who bankrupts casinos who got us involved in a catastrophic war, and he's a loser.

He's easy to defeat. And sadly, that means the United States' power abroad is just utterly destroyed. I mean, look, I think that we should be utilizing that power in ways that are helpful to humanity, but Trump can't even utilize it the right way with all of the post-World War II architecture that was created. And so, I mean, you're looking today, and you got to pay attention to world events that lots of people are not covering, like the fact that the top advisor to Ayatollah Mojtaba Khomeini is in the Kremlin, is in Moscow right now meeting with Putin.

Mojtaba Khomeini's top advisor, Moshe Razai, is there with Putin. You see him right here in this photo. And they talked about expanding and creating a new gas pipeline together that will connect Russia with Iran. They talked about building out their railway system from Russia to Iran and connecting it through some of these other countries. They've already been doing work for further cooperation on nuclear plants, the Bushir facility and other facilities. Today also, Iran struck multiple tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, at least five.

They struck more U.S. drones, MQMs, MQ-9s, MQ-1s. Basically, two to three tankers are hit by the IRGC every day in the Strait of Hormuz. And you also had a lot of phone calls and activity taking place between countries in the Middle East. We're on the phone with Iran's foreign minister, Araghchi, while they had Moshe Razai in the Kremlin with Putin. And this follows all of them meeting with Wang Yi, China's foreign minister, in Beijing the other day.

And they're actively working for a new security architecture where China and Russia become kind of the guarantors, where the regional powers assert more authority in the region. The U.S. gets pushed out. And then today you have Melania Trump in the Oval Office with Kirill Dmitriev, who's Putin's head of sovereign wealth fund for Russia, and they're praising each other. And that's what's going on in the Oval Office. Also, while Russia did a deal to improve Iran's ability to use helicopters in the war against the U.S., I mean, they did like 90 new cutting-edge helicopter devices that will help Iran kill American service members if Donald Trump escalates this catastrophic war.

And so Donald Trump's out there today, occupation, we're blowing Iran up. They don't know what they're doing, not even really a war. And it's like Iran has more ballistic missiles than before. It has more cruise missiles, and they've improved the capabilities. Same thing with the drones. And I would say Trump's playing with fire, but that's an understatement. And he's an idiot. He's incapable. He's not fit to be anywhere near this office. And the American people are sending that message as well.

Brett, I just want to start off, let me just show this clip of Donald Trump talking about what we're doing there is occupation. This is what it's not a war. It's an occupation that we're doing in Iran. Then we'll go into the election. But to me, the important thing is all of this is inextricably intertwined with the election results, with basic competence as well, with the message that the American people are sending, with the cost of living. This is all related, and we need to understand that. Here, play this clip.

Speaker 300:10:25

Somebody said a war with Iran. No. We have succeeded with the blockade tremendously, and we have destroyed somebody. A man told me today that's from the area, a neighboring country, that it'll take them 25 to 30 years right now to rebuild their country. And so we'll see how that all works out. I think it's working out very well. Somebody else called, they say it's an occupation. Remember what? Because it is virtually an occupation.

And we're not looking to be wise guys, but it is an occupation.

Ben00:11:03

Brett, we're not looking to be wise guys. It is an occupation. The blockade is working. You said this war would end in four to six weeks, back in March 1st. Okay? This should be a war we never got involved in in the first place. And now there's different news. Is the escalation happening now? Is it about to happen? The American people rebuked this war. They rebuked him. And also, the fact that we have someone so unfit, someone so fragile, someone so pathetic, it's really dangerous, Brett.

And in healthy democracies, you would have a change in government. This would be a no-confidence vote, and there would be a snap election in mostly any other country because that's the message the American people sent.

Brett00:11:50

Trump's solution to every problem, and I'm not saying actual solution, but the way Trump views solutions to problems is not by actually doing the work. He views everything, and it goes back to who he's been and what his life has basically been about. Everything's a branding exercise to him. So now he thinks that he could go and just change the name. I'm just going to say it's not a war. So let's say it's not a war. Yeah, okay. People are dying. There's explosions. The ships are getting hit in the Strait of Hormuz every single day. I'm just going to say it's not a war. I'm going to actually hide all of our combat operations from the American people.

And instead, I'm going to call it an occupation, which it might be the only one thing less popular than a war is calling something an occupation. And so it's a branding exercise, but it's a futile branding exercise that is actually going to even just make things worse for him. The American people don't like occupations. The American people have seen occupations throughout the last decades in the Middle East. It's something that people are vehemently against. It's worse. And it's not true because we don't have troops on the ground there, of course.

Not true in any way. But that branding just makes things worse. And it shows that Donald Trump has not learned any lessons from the midterm. If you think, oh, now the Democrats are going to be going in there, he's going to be this whole different guy. No, he's going to be the same Donald Trump. He cannot control himself at all.

Ben00:13:12

Who I do think will be different guys and gals, although you can check me if I'm wrong. I think a lot of these quacking, lame duck MAGA Republicans, as the MAGA brand has been totally killed, I tend to think that we're actually going to see some cooperation now next week with Democrats when it comes to impeaching Hegseth, when it comes to releasing the Epstein files, and in other areas. We've seen before when these MAGA Republicans leave their office, they find a spine or pieces of the spine.

We've seen that over and over again. Now what happens when Donald Trump affirmatively costs them their jobs and they see that there's a future without Donald Trump and they have to think about their survival in the future? That's why I think actually you're going to see, I'm not suggesting there's going to be a massive, like, all of a sudden level of cooperation.

Brett00:14:10

And by the way, I agree with you on that because people are looking at Donald Trump right now and they're like, Mother Effer, like, you cost me my job. Like, what the hell? Like, you said that you'd get our back or whatever. You just made things worse by going out there. And I think people are going to feel that. These people actually want to be in these positions. They want to have the job. They want to have that power despite not doing anything with it. And Donald Trump is costing them their livelihood in these respects. And so there will start to build this resentment towards Donald Trump.

And that's why I think it's interesting that you even see what's playing out in the background, or not even in the background. JD Vance making that super long post on X, on Twitter, basically saying, oh, I spoke to a lot of people and they said that it's the war and it's the this and we didn't hear them out on the economy. It's like, well, fricking duh. Everybody knows that. But I think it's interesting that Vance felt that necessary to make a long Twitter post to try to distance himself from something that he was quite literally in the room for and responsible for, and something that while he's writing that on the internet, him and his regime are doing the exact opposite still and are planning for increased war operations.

And it just shows you JD Vance is a fraud. And it gives you a little bit of insight into what he's going to do when Donald Trump is gone. He's going to try to rebrand himself once again as the guy who stood up to Trump in the Oval Office, the guy who really wasn't into all those crazy things that Donald Trump did, but he just had to do it as his VP. He's telling you what he is. He's a fraud. He's a chameleon. He's changed who he is throughout his entire life, and he's still changing who he is today. But he, as Josh Shapiro said in that incredible post-election special that she did with him, he has the stink of Donald Trump on him.

And once you get the stink of Donald Trump on you, you can't get that off.

Ben00:16:02

And the American people, though, want that stink off the United States of America right now. It's why oversight and accountability and impeachment, and I say, send these war criminals to war crime tribunals. Like, to me, impeachment doesn't go halfway far enough. These are war criminals, and they should be put in war criminal tribunals for the war crimes they committed, slaughtering little children in Lemayre and Manab in Iran, also slaughtering people on fishing boats without any evidence or due process.

And even if you believe they were narco-traffickers, you don't just get to kill people. It's not how you're able to, that's not a response to human beings. Okay? And they're war criminals. They should be sent to war crime tribunals. And if people want to run for Democratic leadership positions, I mean, like, to me, like on my, like impeachments like here, I mean, where I think we should set the bar is send them to war crime tribunals because they're war criminals. Look, there's a lot of attention that is put on some of these big numbers, and rightfully so.

I mean, all of the seats that Democrats are taking in the House of Representatives, when all said and done, what could we be talking about? 260? Like, a ton of seats over the meetings. We're still getting some results in, but huge amounts of seats there. When we're talking about the Senate, I mean, what are we talking about over there at this point? 56? 55? 56 of Scott Colombo? We got to wait and see what's going on in Mississippi and Alaska, but we could be talking about 56 seats. Scott Colombo! And by the way, we had Scott Colombo on September of 2025, and we did a video that said MAGA is getting a rude awakening in Mississippi.

And all of the MIDAS haters were like, that's a hyperbolic title about Mississippi.

Brett00:17:50

They'll never win Mississippi.

Ben00:17:52

They'll never win Mississippi. You're getting our hopes up in Mississippi. Why are you talking? We were talking about Mississippi back in late, mid, mid to late 2025.

Brett00:18:00

We had him on in 2025. We had him on again late October, right before the election. And one of the things I found really interesting about him and that there hasn't been an official call there, but I do think that he's on a trajectory to win that seat. We had him on. I think the day after we had him on, I think he did an event with Bill Clinton, which I thought was interesting. And I was like, okay, well, I don't think Bill Clinton's going to waste his time in Mississippi if there's no shot here. I mean, and so MIDAS, Clinton, and then he did that.

He did that event, I think, either right before he was on with us, where he went to the Trump rally that was in Mississippi, and he spoke to the people. And I thought that was a really interesting strategy. And I think for too long, there have been people running for office in these states who have thought, who have ridden the states off, ah, it's Mississippi, we're never going to win there. Ah, it's South Carolina, we're never going to win there. Don't send your money to this state. Don't send your money to that state. And I think what this election shows you is that especially when people are pissed off, people are looking for people who actually have their back and have their actual concerns in mind and aren't worried about how good John Hughes did's ass looks that day, but are looking to hear about how you're going to help them with affordability issues or their healthcare or their Medicaid or you name it.

And you had a guy like Scott Colombo there who was actually speaking to those issues. And we saw that really replicated all over the country. And so I think we should never write any state off the table at all and always be speaking to those things that people want out of our politicians.

Ben00:19:35

And so we talk a lot about the massive victory in the House of Representatives, the massive victory in the Senate. We talk about the massive victory in the state races. I mean, Gina Hinojosa winning the governor of Texas, right? Keisha Lance Bottoms, now the governor of Georgia. You talk about Dr. Amy Acton in Ohio. I mean, there are these major victories that are there. Then in these state legislative races, I'll talk about that in a moment as well where Democrats are getting the trifecta in so many states.

They have the trifecta now in Pennsylvania. They have a trifecta in Michigan, in New Hampshire. They have this super, they went from down like 46 seats in the House to like a 200-seat super majority, like in the House in New Hampshire. And you look at all of these state races, Democrats won every statewide race in Texas, every single one of them. They now control the Supreme Court Chief Justice seat in Texas, the Texas House, like everything.

Brett00:20:36

It's really incredible. To put it in perspective, I think the only remaining state official right now in Texas is Ted Cruz. He's surrounded by.

Ben00:20:45

And he's a federal too. I mean, he's federal level, but yeah, I mean, at the high.

Brett00:20:49

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's really crazy. Broke the Republican super majority in the Indiana Statehouse. I mean, there was such a force of nature. The Texas Board of Education flipped. I mean, this was seismic. Like those things are almost even more important than like the national picture. And I think the thing is, Ben, did you even see this? Republicans almost even screwed themselves more. Remember the Indiana gerrymander that they tried to do? I thought this was so fascinating because I think the current makeup of Indiana with the congressional races, when Democrats won all those seats, I think it's six to three right now, if I'm not mistaken.

But remember, Indiana, they tried to pull that whole redistricting scheme, remember? And it was this whole back and forth and then ended up not going through, right? So if that redistricting scheme went through, Democrats would have had every seat in the district except one, which I think is absolutely stunning. And so by that not working out for the Republican Party, it ended up actually saving their ass because one of the things and the reason why so many of us were calling it a dummy mander in all these states going into it, in order to gerrymander a district, that means you have to weaken a district.

You have to dilute the support of the district because you need to put it somewhere else. And so Republicans were so overly confident from 2024 that people were on their side and that demographics have shifted permanently, that they counted on these districts to remain strong Republican districts. And if they diluted those districts in that way, they would have had even more of a reckoning than they had.

Ben00:22:28

No doubt about it. I mean, look at this stat. Democrats won the Senate popular vote across former Confederate states. Democrats won the combined Senate popular vote across 10 former Confederate states, securing 20,782,000 votes to Republicans, 17,888,000, a margin of nearly 2.9 million votes right over there. And so look, when we come back, I want to talk more about that, but I want to also talk about why we win, right?

It's not just winning for the sake of winning. It's winning to make people's lives better. And what does winning mean? I mean, we have to make sure we reckon with the fact that we have treasonous traitors discussing vile creatures in the Oval Office who have harmed our country. There needs to be real oversight. There needs to be accountability, not a slogan. Real aggressive, every day, ruthless, relentless. And then, of course, there has to be a focus on people's lives and improving people's lives and using the government to make things better.

Then, of course, being a check against this authoritarian regime. So we're talking about that.

Brett00:23:36

And can I just say also, huge shout out, looking at that, the graphic that we pulled up before about these wins across former Confederate states, a huge shout out to the Black voters across this country. I mean, honestly, the real heroes of this election. There's no blue wave without Black voters mobilizing, going to the polls, showing up in big numbers and showing people that they have the power. I thought it was incredibly impactful to see that.

Ben00:24:02

Absolutely. Everybody, WTF America is our book, The Way Out of This Hell and Back to Democracy, two weeks in a row on the New York Times bestseller. Let's get the hardcover, get the e-book. It's not an election book. It's a book that's intended to endure the test of time. And it talks about how we fight for values and principles here and abroad so that when we go into elections and all the bad faith actors pop up, how do we fortify our minds to what the stakes really are and actually move towards a better tomorrow?

Welcome back, everybody, to the MidasTouch Podcast. Thank you to our sponsors. They support the show. Support our sponsors. Brett, let me show you a list of Black woman candidates who won statewide in Georgia so far. Governor-elect Keisha Lance Bottoms, Attorney General-elect Tanya Miller, Secretary of State-elect Penny Brown, State School Superintendent-elect Lydia Powell, Agriculture Commissioner-elect Katherine E. Juwan Arnold, Labor Commissioner-elect Nikki Porscher, Insurance Commissioner-elect Keisha Sean Waits, Public Service Commissioner-elect Sheila Edwards right over there.

Other kind of notable races, there's so many races that we can talk about right over here. But how about Democrat major Richard Ojeda defeating the MAGA Republican extremist Richard Hudson? Now, Richard Hudson was basically in charge of the National Republican Campaign Committee, ran the countrywide Republican congressional races, and he lost his own congressional race. You know how like the Democrats have the DCCC and Susan Del Bene is the congresswoman who runs that?

The Republican version of that, their leader lost that race.

Brett00:28:48

Feels like a good representation of the whole race, right? The guy responsible for getting Republicans elected doesn't get reelected himself.

Ben00:28:53

Well, you remember when in Canada, whenever we're here.

Brett00:28:57

Yeah, I was thinking something.

Ben00:28:57

You were going to say.

Brett00:28:59

Well, Pierre Poilievre was the head of his party and he lost his riding. And it was a similar situation. And I think it's actually, I think it speaks to the sentiment in the country when something like that happens, whether it's in Canada or here. In that case, remember Pierre Poilievre, he went and ran and begged somebody else to get out of their seat so he could steal their riding, essentially. But yeah, a very similar situation I was thinking of saying.

Ben00:29:24

And in Australia, Peter Dutton there, Temu MAGA, when he lost.

Brett00:29:29

That's why the international connections, Ben, it's all, you know, it's all connected. It's all happening.

Ben00:29:34

It's all connected. But the reality is, is that, you know, what makes our system here in the United States different, and I think actually in a bad way, is like in Canada, you're forced to do a budget as the government. And if you don't get a budget passed and you can't bring a coalition, it triggers a snap election. So then you have to do a whole new, the government dissolves. I mean, how wild of a concept is that, right? And they do that in parliamentary systems. And then there are other events also that dissolve like governments, right?

You know, if you can't keep the coalition together, you have to then elect a new government. And there's a whole race for who's going to, you know, who's going to lead. And it's just, you know, here, the message being sent by the American people is we need to get this sex predator out of the Oval Office. Like we need to clean this trash out of Washington, but you're still kind of stuck with the trash for two more years, which I think we have to think a little bit deeper about some of the, you know, gaping holes in our constitution and the system that when you have a criminal cartel take over the country, they can exploit a lot of these things.

You know, especially as we talk about in WTF America, the take care clause in Article 2, which defines the executive branch that they'll take care that laws are faithfully executed. Well, what happens if they don't? And then the Supreme Court gives the executive absolute immunity. And then they say, I'm not taking care that the law is faithfully executed and just come up with some national security pretext for everything to violate the law to give themselves immunity under a Supreme Court's decision that can exist.

But then I think we have to have a robust debate. Given that that exists, when a Democratic president takes power, should we wield the power strong and go, oh, we got absolute immunity too. We're going to fire everybody. We're going to do, we'll have our own project 2025. We'll have a project 2029 and we'll carry it out competently. Or do you say, well, now we got to close the loopholes and now we got to do this and now to make sure there isn't a future dictator that rises in the Trump form and fashion, the authoritarian style.

So I think that's a robust, that needs, we need to be thinking generationally. We need to be thinking internationally. So many veterans, so many doctors, so many great Democratic candidates. I mean, we could spend the whole show literally going over every one of them. But let me just show you the two different approaches right here. Let me show you the MAGA get out the vote approach with Scott Pressler and his crew. And as I've said before on another show, you know, I'm not like a, I'm not like the game guy. I'm not like the tactical election. I'm not like the operative guy.

That's not my, that's not my lane. I'm ideas, news, objective reporting, international reporting. But if you wanted me to get a little Machiavellian there with the elections, here's my plan. You take Scott Pressler and these two guys he's with, you fund them and you tell them, tell people to vote Republican and MAGA, send them everywhere and fund this operation. Let them go everywhere, knock on doors and tell people about how great MAGA is. Let them be the ambassadors.

Let me show you their approach. Here, play this clip.

Speaker 300:32:54

Hey, everybody. This is Scott Pressler. I'm here with Davis and Brandon of Turning Point Action. Now, we just wrapped up in high energy electric event here in Manchester. And so after the event, we're knocking on doors, making sure that everybody is coming out to vote for our Republican candidates. And Davis, who is running for the United States Senate here in New Hampshire?

Brett00:33:16

John Eason Unu.

Speaker 300:33:18

And who do we have for Congress here, Brandon, in this district?

Brett00:33:22

We have Anthony DeLorenzo from New Hampshire. I stopped what I was doing in Pennsylvania coming to your state because I believe in you. Make a plan to vote by Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026. Game on.

Ben00:33:35

You could do like a.

Brett00:33:36

Can't believe that didn't work.

Ben00:33:37

You could do a whole SNL skit on that. Like it's hard to believe that that's actually real.

Brett00:33:41

It's one of those things that's like so beyond even parody. Like how do you parody a parody?

Ben00:33:47

What's the name of that fake band on YouTube? And they all like dress, I think, in like pink and they had the one guy come from India and they like connect. You know what I'm talking about? I have to go find this band.

Brett00:33:56

You watch crazy stuff.

Ben00:33:57

No, it's not crazy. Maybe it's on Instagram. I'm going to find, they did like a boy band and it's a whole thing. I'm going to go find out who they are. But you know, Democrats ran people like Bo Bai, right? I mean, political dynasty of Indiana. And he carried a lot of those Democrats on his shoulder in Indiana. I mean, you know, this guy's 30 years old, military vet, Harvard law. I mean, like literally they created a president, a future president like in like a laboratory, you know, in Indiana.

Brett00:34:27

I'm going to tell you right now, remember this guy's name. Remember Bo Bai's name because he will be a figure in politics for years to come. And I'm sure he has a very, very, very bright future. Should we play this?

Ben00:34:39

Play his ad first, then I'll play the press conference after.

Speaker 400:34:46

Most politicians are weak, bought and paid for by special interests. I'm Bo Bai, a captain in the Marine Corps, seventh generation Hoosier. I'm running for Secretary of State because I'm disgusted with the corruption in that office. I'll end it on day one. No more wasteful spending for politicians getting rich while Hoosiers struggle to pay for food and gas. I'll stand up to anyone and clean this mess up. I'm a Marine and we never back down.

Ben00:35:11

The Republicans lost young men and that was a major kind of focus of the MAGA coalition and all the podcast. Yeah, by like, like Democrats won young men by like 70 points. I mean, I'm not, I'm no longer a young man. I'm a bit of an older man. I'm over 40. But one of the things that really, you know, pissed me off was what the MAGA was messaging to young men and what all of these MAGA podcasters, the misogyny, the hate, the bullying, the attacking the marginalized communities, just all of that to me was, you know, such an affront, you know, to like when I grew up, I mean, like what I thought, you know, how young men should come of age.

And I mean, it should be all people. Let me be very clear. It's just obviously I was once a young man. So thinking about that, I'm like, what a horrible message are being sent by these awful, despicable, you know, Trumps and Vance. And it's just gross.

Brett00:36:07

Please look at the people they were throwing out there, right? Like the Tate brothers, you know, having people like Russell Brand who was just convicted of rape, like really despicable people who done really horrible things. They were holding up as kind of this is what masculinity is and this is what you should aspire to be. I think it's an absolutely horrific message when you see something like that. And I think after a while, well, first of all, I think they misread the moment. I don't think that Republicans were ever cool, so to speak. I think they thought they were cool because they won young men then.

But I think they won young men because a lot of young men were getting out of college and trying to get jobs and they couldn't get jobs. And they were being priced out of the market because of inflation and things like that. And they were just looking for any change possible. And then you saw this just incredible double down and then just continuing to push this crap at people to try to hold onto the stuff. But when I was watching kind of the TikToks that the White House was doing, when I was watching just right before the election, the stuff they were doing, bringing like Jake Paul up to the sites and things like that, even just like yesterday, I think, like Vance did this really cringeworthy fricking video with Jake Paul.

Speaker 300:37:14

Hey, Jake.

Brett00:37:14

It's like hey, Jake. It's like hey, Jake. Good to see you, buddy. And I'm like, I know I'm not, you know, as young as, you know, I'm not a Gen Z-er. You know, I'm not that young. But when I look at that, I'm like, this is corny as shit. You know, this is like lame stuff that they're pushing.

Ben00:37:28

I mean, I mean, you've got JD Vance wearing his eyeliner like he clearly pre-recorded whatever this even was. And he was like, hey, Jake, baby, what's up? And then Jake's like, I got a fight coming up. I got a fight coming up. And then Jade's like, oh, you're going to like, like you're going to fight hard? I'm like, watch? I'm like, what are we? I'm like, what am I even watching right? Like what is this? And this is what they're pushing out. And then Jake Paul's like, I got a fight in Dubai, in the UAE. And it's like, you know what I'm thinking about right now? I'm thinking about whether or not there's going to be a catastrophic escalation in this war right now because it seems like we're moving closer to closer, you know, to that right now.

And like what are you, what, I don't need content right now from this regime. Like, you know what I mean? Like I'm not looking for them to bring on Russell Brand. I mean, again, this guy was convicted of rape today and these serious allegations against him. Now there's a conviction. But these allegations that were very, very serious and Russell Brand was, you could bring anybody to host this special with RFK Jr.

and with Dr. Oz when they were pushing whatever bullshit they push, whatever their thing is. It doesn't even matter what they push because, you know, it's all a lie anyway. They were reducing healthcare costs by 800% or whatever stupid, most favored nation, whatever dumb shit they're saying. Of anybody in the world to pick out, they either say, oh, it's going to be the Tate brothers or it's going to be Russell Brand. What's similar about them? And you wonder with this Epstein class that is the Trump regime, just think about it. It's all connected, right? Who were the first people they killed in the catastrophic war in Iran?

Little girls, little children in Manab, little girls in Manab, little girls in Manab. What do you think they were doing in the ep? I mean, these are sick demonic people. So look over here. This was from what, a month ago, Brad?

Brett00:39:22

Yeah, it was like a month ago. And the guy, so the guy was convicted of rape today. And this is a month ago. And not only do they have him, but then they're like, he makes a joke about consent on stage next to.

Ben00:39:32

The first thing he says to the crowd was making a joke about touching girls backstage before coming on stage at an official government event that our taxpayers are funding, that our taxpayer dollars are funding. Let's play.

Speaker 500:39:46

Russell Brand was backstage hugging the Secretary of Agriculture, but here he is. Yes. Took Maha to a whole new level.

Speaker 600:39:55

He initiated that contact. I should make clear, Doctor. Actually, you initiated it. No, thank you for joining us. Should I be.

Ben00:40:04

That individual was convicted of rape today.

Speaker 700:40:06

Yeah. It's funny because he's a rapist. Get the joke.

Brett00:40:10

I mean, like this is just, it's despicable stuff. And if we have any young people watching, that ain't cool. That is not cool. That is the opposite of cool. You do not want to be that.

Ben00:40:20

Right. Then you have the CENCOM, Admiral Brad Cooper, the CENCOM commander. And we've talked a lot about him, where I think there hasn't been a lot of coverage on him. We've been like laser focused on this guy because I'm like, what the hell's going on with this guy? And it really started not right away in the war, but about a month and a half, two months in. Because everybody was telling me, hey, this, you know, fortunately we got a good guy at CENCOM and despite all the craziness. And then I think he started seeing Hegseth firing all the four stars, three stars, two stars, one star.

And then he started like, and you can see what he's wants attention. And you can see with this podcast what it's about and, you know, with him and why he's the worst guy for this role. And then he started posting, we hope we control the straight of Hormuz. Then before you knew it, the CENCOM account basically became this massive like Russian propaganda, US version of it, where it was like, we control it. And he would do these weird videos.

I'm like, what's he saying? And then there was the, I remember I did a whole video where he was called into Congress and the Democratic members, when he was called in, especially the veterans, I think that they didn't start off thinking that they were going to be cross-examining the guy, but the guy started lying through his teeth. And then they had to, you know, Congressmember Crowe and Congressmember Ryan and others, you know, they had to start grilling the guy. And they never thought they had to be adversarially with the commander of CENCOM who just kept on lying over and over again.

They're still covering up the Pentagon report about the war crimes in Manab and Lamarred. And with everything that's going on, as I said today, five tankers struck in the Strait of Hormuz, four ships, one tugboat. Be very precise with my language. Hit in the Strait of Hormuz. Multiple US drones destroyed two of those Lucas drones. Iran used electronic jamming systems to get two of these Lucases to lose altitude. And they took photos with the two Lucas drones. There's all of this stuff going on that I described earlier in the episode with Mohsen Razai, the top advisor to the Ayatollah in Moscow, all of the deals being announced between Iran and Russia right now.

What happened last week with all of these countries, including Iran's leadership, going to China. You know, we know Netanyahu, who is losing power right now. The new prime minister is likely going to be this guy, Gidi Eisencott, who's forming a coalition with the Arab block that would push Netanyahu out of power. So Netanyahu's more desperate than ever. And so with all of this going on, it's like CENCOM is doing a podcast and it's like, okay, look, you want to do a military podcast and get really in the weeds to engage people about military tactics and strategy and start to showcase in a way that wouldn't impact national security, our weapons.

And like, I mean, I think it's still very tone-deaf in a catastrophic war, but if you were to do a military podcast, I guess, I don't know. Like when I do my military takes, you see how much I research it and study it. I try to get the engines and the parts and really get deep and I speak to experts. And I think that there could be something interesting, maybe not while you're engaged in a war that you're spending your time doing that. But they did like a Between Two Ferns podcast where they're talking about the guy liking French fries.

And I'm watching, I'm like, no one cares about your French fries. You're the CENCOM commander. Who is this audience for? Or is it to really showcase to the world how weak you are? Because that's what it shows. It shows real mental fragility here. Like let me show you, this is real. This isn't AI. This is really what the CENCOM released today and posted this to show the world this. This is what they wanted us to see. Let's play. So you're more of a salad, chicken Caesar salad person, but here's something that people might not know about you.

You are the original, in my opinion, my thoughts, you are the original fry guy. You like French fries. Most people don't notice, but I did notice. When we stationed together years ago, my lunch would come and I always had French fries, you know, bad on me, but you would see my French fries coming on my plane. You at least take one or two. And they would tell me, and you never knew, I don't think you ever knew that I knew you took my French fries. So is that your favorite food, French fries?

Brett00:44:47

We should let the world know for years I've been eating your French fries. The secret is now out. But yeah, I never met a French fry I didn't like, and thus the need to exercise frequently to balance that out.

Speaker 700:44:57

Wow. So relatable.

Ben00:44:59

Fleet Master Chief Compton was the person asking the questions, the CENCOM commander, Admiral Brad Cooper. Look, my day is so busy personally that if someone wanted me to do a podcast to ask me questions about, you know, whether I like chocolate ice cream over vanilla ice cream or whatever, and we were going to spend an hour talking about that. I mean, I'll show you sides of my personality when we do the show and we'll intersperse our lives because they come up.

But if someone were to tell me that, I'd be like, no, no, I'm sorry. There's a lot going on in the world. I apologize. You know, maybe sometime in the future, but that's not what you're the commander of CENCOM. Why are—and then it gets worse here. There's more. There's more to it. Here, show this.

Speaker 800:45:50

Question that is on my mind. Let's say you only did your four years over at the academy. What do you think you would be doing now if you only did four years in the military?

Brett00:45:59

I'm pretty sure I would own a bar on a beach somewhere.

Speaker 800:46:01

A bar on a beach. I thought you was going to tell me you'd be playing in the NBA shooting free throws.

Brett00:46:07

You know, NBA is only a couple of months a year. And because the contracts haven't been worked out yet, I'll negotiate that. But you got to start with your own small business. And I like the sun. I like the beach. That's a good start. The thing with basketball, that'll be a little bit of a part-time.

Ben00:46:22

He likes the sun. He likes the beach. He wants to open up a bar. That's the life that he always wanted. I mean, again, someone who's clearly not fit for that position, but I suppose fits in in this regime, in this awful, incompetent, terrible Epstein class supporting regime. We still got a lot more to discuss.

Brett00:46:45

Hold on. Hold on. Let me—I didn't talk about that for a second. Let's leave the podcasting for the podcasters. Okay, folks, like we don't need the CENCOM guy doing that. And if you are going to do it, I'm not even just upset about or against the idea of a podcast. To Ben's point, if you're giving the people information that people want in a transparent way, the podcast could be a good medium about it, right? If you want to go in and speak honestly about the war and the efforts and the fallen troops and pay tribute to them and say what strategies are you're looking at nothing confidential, of course.

But if you want to go out there and you actually want to speak about real stuff, then by all means, do your podcast and communicate with the people. But they've shut out the press from the Pentagon. They don't do any press briefings anymore. And now they do this podcast. And if you think, oh, but did you guys just cherry-pick moments where they had these aside? No, it's the whole freaking pod. I watched the whole thing. I'm one of the 12 people who watched it. That's all they talk about. They talk about his basketball. They talk about French fries. They talk about, I don't even know, just all dumb stuff. They think it's like call her daddy, but like really lame.

That's not what we want from our military leaders. We want people who are serious people and we want people out there who are communicating with the people and being actually transparent with the people about what's going on and not lying to us, especially in situations of life or death.

Ben00:48:05

Look, the Iranian leadership are deeply serious people.

Brett00:48:11

Imagine Mojtaba Ben and Mohsen Razai in the pod.

Ben00:48:14

I mean, they're deeply serious.

Brett00:48:16

Talking about French fries.

Ben00:48:17

And the issue is, if you underestimate them the way Donald Trump has, it's, oh, they're destroyed. And they're basically like their cavemen. It's like how he portrays the, you know, these are top-level engineers. These are all people with technical backgrounds. Mohsen Razai is a doctor. Aragchi is a doctor. Emmigal Abaf is a doctor. Their president, Pezeshkian, is a world-renowned cardiovascular surgeon. I mean, these are all highly technical, skilled people. Iran has some of the top engineering base in the world.

Okay? You can't underestimate that. And so when you act like they don't have weapons, they don't have this, they're destroyed, they're begging for a deal, they're not, they're not, they're not. And you're out there doing these podcasts and what you've exposed to the world is that you're actually stupid. Like at first, I think people had to figure this one out. And it's like, is this part of, I remember in the early days with Treasury Secretary Bessent when early at first it wasn't clear what a psychotic individual he was also.

And I think he called like the behavior of what they were doing, like the crazy Ivan behavior, like they don't know how we're going to approach. And so it creates this tactical ambiguity. And to some extent, because of the post-World War II architecture that the US created, because what the US meant to the world after World War II and during the Cold War and generally, I think people were still and leaders in other countries still were like, okay, is this crazy Ivan?

Is this just some crazy tactic that is kind of part of a lure us in? And then they're going to, and then they're going to do that. And now it's just become very clear that it's just crazy stupid. It's not crazy Ivan or whatever. It's crazy stupid. So the world is like, okay, we have four years, now two years to rewrite the overall global architecture, to reduce the US strength globally, to really minimize and diminish US power, which also translated into economic benefits that would flow to the United States where the US wrote the rules.

And so there were certainly lots of negative consequences. I don't want to paint this picture. Oh, it was such a great, everything was great. Let's far from it. Let's be very clear. But the way these rules were written often, whether it was the strength of the dollar and the petro dollar and our treasury markets and our equity markets and, you know, US bonds and US assets, it was a safe, predictable place to put money in. And the flows of the money would often circulate back around, but the final destination would be back in the US.

US sanctions existed because the US controlled the banking system so they could cut you out. And Trump's destroyed this whole system. And not only is he losing the war, but he's losing generationally this architecture, which creates a lot of third, fourth, fifth level consequences that I always keep trying to point out in my videos because no one's talking about it. And that's why I say paying attention to the election's importance, but focus on what's going on globally here because the global architecture is being rewritten by very savvy, smart, top-level actual geniuses, evil geniuses.

It could be whatever you want to think about, evil, horrible, but they're being rewritten and there's a tension taking place. There's a middle powers alliance being formed with people like Prime Minister Carney, with the European Union, associate membership, Carney now forming Trans-Pacific, Trans-Atlantic relationships, a new leader of the free world. You've got blocks like that forming, European, you know, figuring out this kind of pro-democracy identity, then having other countries join that may not be democracies, but there may be strategic ways to work together.

And then you have this kind of other grouping of alliances of kind of the China and the Russia and the North Korea and Iran, a fundamental player in that and what BRICS is looking like and Shanghai Cooperation Organization looking like. And there are overlaps and contradictions, but there is a sophisticated, it doesn't mean I'm applauding, it's just a high intelligence, sophisticated tapestry of things taking place while Donald Trump is in the Oval Office, you know, miming and screaming and ranting and talking about, you know, ballrooms and all of these things.

And the world's like, got it. Now's the time. And there's this scramble. There's a musical chairs taking place, you know, like literally, you know, the musical chairs. And Donald Trump's out there like, oh, oh, oh, like hitting himself with the chair in his face. And it's like, and I'm here and we're all here and we're like, what the F is even going on? And then our freaking stupid corporate media is like, so Dr. Abdul. You would agree that this was a rebuke on the progressive agenda. Oh, so James Talarico, will you stand up to Dr.

Abdul? I said, I'm watching. I'm like, the hell is even going on? I turned on, turn it off.

Brett00:53:38

It's bonkers.

Ben00:53:39

Let's talk about that when we come back from our last break. Our book is called WTF America, The Way Out of This Hell and Back to Democracy. Two weeks in a row on the New York Times bestsellers. It's not an election book. It's an enduring work of all of the stuff when I talk about global, generational, international. That's what we talk about, how we got here, how we get out of it. Ben00:58:17

We're grateful to all of our sponsors. And you know what? I'm so damn grateful to all of you, the Midas Mighty. I can't express enough that we did this together. You did this. And I want you to remember that against all odds, against all odds, you stayed strong, you fought back, and there's going to be a lot more fighting that we're going to have to do together. But let's cherish what you, what we collectively were able to accomplish.

And let's fortify our minds and our hearts and our soul and our bodies and our being and our communities against these bad faith actors who come in and pop up during election cycles. Because that's one of the most important things that I think we all need to do. And that takes time because the most important resource that I think exists is trust. Is trust. And when we're here with each other every damn day, does it mean we'll get it perfect all the time?

No. Does it mean we'll make mistakes from time to time? Sure. But it's part of this open, transparent, honest dialogue that we all have, that you have with each other, that we discuss with each other every day, that we can fortify our minds against election cycle manipulation, against algorithmic manipulation, against the tactics of the oligarchs who try to insert themselves, the consultant class who pops up and tells us, oh, independents will never vote for Dr.

Abdul El-Sayed. No, they will never vote for that. Jewish people will never vote for Zoran Mamdani. That will never happen. This people will never vote for that. Those consultants have been shown to be very, very wrong. And if I think we started listening to principled approaches and values-based approaches, we may have been able to rebuke and not have this Trumpism define us for so long.

I know it doesn't define us, but how the world perceives this country now and the taint in our country. So I think that's an important message to drive.

Brett01:00:39

I think it goes to the thing that we were speaking about, that when you speak to voters around the country, they don't view things as, well, am I left or am I right or am I, where do I fit in this hypothetical scale that they have labeled everybody? People aren't thinking that. And when people, when the media thinks about independence, I feel like they think they're like people like right in this mythical center who have very reserved opinions on things and are extremely, you know, moderate using their terminology and whatever. And that's just not the case.

Remember the whole thing with Dr. Abdul El-Sayed? The media kept pushing over and over again. He's never going to be able to win independence. You know, Hailey Stevens, you know, she's the one who's able to win over independence. You need a more, you know, moderate, once again, I'm using their language here. You need a more moderate to win over independence. That's just not true. The things that Abdul was speaking about were the things that a majority of people wanted. And Medicare for All, right? Money in your pockets, no more foreign wars. That was what the independents wanted. That is what actually inspired people to come out and vote for him.

And I thought your conversation, Ben, with New York City Mayor Mamdani on that post-election special, I think he did a good job at kind of threading between all the kind of different candidates out there and saying like, you can't view like, oh, oh, you know, well, the progressive didn't win in this state or that's, it's just like, it's not what it's about. And Mamdani said to Ben in this interview, I recommend you check it out on the, it's on our Substack and our podcast. You know, he was like, James Talarico was pushing for universal pre-K. Dr. Annie Andrews was pushing for ending endless wars.

Keisha Lance Bottoms was about streamlining affordable housing. Like all this stuff was in the fabric of what people were speaking about across the country. So stop painting people with a broad brush and start treating people like they're actually intelligent and they will reward you.

Ben01:02:27

And while the media was like, do you condemn this podcaster? Do you condemn that statement? Do you condemn this ad? Do you condemn this? Like, look, I'm not the podcaster. It's not my ad. You need me to just go and condemn this? I have to, do you condemn this? Do you condemn that?

Brett01:02:46

It doesn't make your life better to condemn this or that. It's all a scam. It's all astroturf. So many of these narratives were determined to be astroturf. Democrats for Mike Rogers? Are you freaking kidding me? There were no Democrats for Mike Rogers. Mike Rogers even got less support in Detroit than he did the last time in his last election. His support decreased. And they were pushing. How many times did the media push Democrats for Mike Rogers? What's the investigative piece that I did with Aysun on our staff right before the election? The Fox Hell Day event on their television that was supposed to be, we picked some random voters in Michigan to give you your, the Michiganders' thoughts on the election.

So you get it real and unfiltered. And every single person, just about four out of five, were part of the Democrats for Mike Rogers coalition on his website. They were with the campaign. And it was a completely astroturf movement. You know, how else do you know it's an astroturf movement? Because this Democrats for Mike Rogers thing, you know, they had all this engagement on Elon Musk's app, right? So it's like, oh, this must be a real thing. People must really not like Dr. Wright. Well, they had an event in Michigan and nobody showed up. It was empty. Like we had videos and pictures and stuff.

It was empty. So much of this is astroturf. And there are so many narratives that are just driven by corporate media and pundits that just want to spread these different narratives. So they keep asking certain questions to try to instill that narrative, even when it's complete BS. I want to just share a stat with you right now that I think is going to blow a lot of your minds because it blew my mind when I saw it. But it shows you just what an absolute reckoning this was for Republicans. Ben, I don't even know if you've heard this already.

Here's how big the early vote was for the Democrats, okay? Roy Cooper in North Carolina, James Talarico in Texas, and John Ossoff in Georgia all had more early votes than their opponents had total votes. More early votes than their opponents had total votes. And so I'll put that another way. They could have received zero votes on election day. None. Nobody could have showed up to the polls on election day. I'm happy everybody did show up.

Brett01:04:55

So don't take this as I don't have to show up next time. But their voters, none of them could have showed up on election day and they still would have won. That's how big of margins they won. That's an astonishing stat. I mean, James Talarico won by like 12 in Texas. We just don't see those numbers, right? And people were just so fed up. And I think the Democrats had really good candidates out there that people gravitated towards the people who were speaking to the people and not this offensive, tranny, Annie disgusting rhetoric, this racism, the Islamophobia calling Dr.

Abdul El-Sayed, you know, Muhammad and a terrorist and all this stuff. People rejected that crap. People said, get the hell out of here. While you're doing that, Dr. El-Sayed is talking about Medicare for All. He's talking about ending these endless wars. And the contrast to me there just couldn't be more different.

Ben01:05:44

Yeah. And it's why though we have to understand the globalist authoritarian network, their strategy that they work together, the Trumps, the Netanyahus, the Bolsonaros, the Javier Mileis, the reform parties in the UK, the Maple MAGA, the Timu MAGA in Australia. I could keep going on and on and on, okay? And what they want to do is be the arsonists, create the chaos, inflict the trauma, spread the lies, and then say that they're going to fix it.

And then they just open the fire hose of disinformation. They pour in all of their money in order to manipulate their Musk money. The real Zuckerbugs, not what took place before, what took place here. They unleash all of that. Their crypto money, their this, their that, their that, to manipulate, to rig, to push these narratives, to lie, to cheat, to steal. And then they try to overwhelm people because people, people are busy and people have families and people have lives and people struggle and people don't watch politics all of the day.

And when you have traumatized people, their plan is to take people's loaves of bread, dangle a breadcrumb in front of them, don't give them the, don't give them the breadcrumb, and then promise them that they got the breadcrumb after they didn't. And then just kind of rinse and repeat over and over and over again. And so when I talk about fortifying our minds, I really try to be a student of 2024 and a student of international elections and say, well, what was Lula doing in Brazil?

How did he mobilize 10 million people on a WhatsApp chat to break the algorithmic manipulation of Meta? How was it that Donald Trump and MAGA would push these narratives? You know, just think about it right here in California with the fires, right? As soon as the fires were taking place, watch, what did they do on MAGA? They said, oh, it was Gavin Newsom was trying to protect the smelt fish. It was all about smelt. And they didn't have any water and they didn't turn on the hose. And they pushed that and pushed that.

And then people were like, okay, that's crazy. There's no, you can't respond to these crazy people. But then people who you viewed as normal started saying, well, why didn't Gavin Newsom turn on the hose? You're like, turn on the hose? What are you talking about? There's no hose. There's no faucet from Canada that goes into California. There's no, this smelt isn't a real thing. And then you go, got it. I see what they did here. Here's how we do rapid response. Here's how we get out the information. Here's how we point it out. So then we don't think in terms of election. We think in terms of structures and systems and building a decentralized network, which is what we've done here at the Midas Touch Network, where we have veterans groups.

We have young people with massive TikTok followings like, you know, Aaron Parnas, who has his own company, but works with us on the Midas Touch Network and has his incredible TikTok following. You know, it's how do we, you know, you have Katie Fang and all the great work she does, the Scott McFarlands, the Legal AF channel. You know, you have so many, I keep going on and on and on. But then you get out the truth every day. Every day we're on. It's not just 60 days before an election or 90 days before an election. That's what's so important. You know, and now, now we build more.

Think about it right now. You have Donald Trump ranting and raving like a lunatic, but who's out there supporting him right now? Who's out there right now on TV saying that he did good, right? Who's the surrogate? There are none. Oh, there's one. There's Laura Trump. There's like, that's it. He's got Laura Trump. There's no surrogate. Everyone's out there saying these people need to be fired. That should raise a fire. That person should be fired. As I said at the outset, Harmee Dillon, quit today. I mean, all the surrogate, there's no surrogate defending that this was a great election, except Laura Trump, Donald Trump's daughter-in-law.

Donald Trump's daughter. That's it. Let me show you what she's doing over here. She says, she says, it takes long to rebuild from the Biden years. That's what's happened here.

Speaker 301:09:47

The way this president has set things up will not take effect immediately. It takes a long time to rebuild from the Biden years, from the destruction the Democrats themselves caused to this country. And so the long-term play of all of these things is very tough in a society where you have a clickbait culture, where people need instant gratification. Nonetheless, I appreciate what the president has done. And I think Americans down the road will as well.

Ben01:10:14

I do. I do too. Also Laura Trump. Yeah. So awful. And then she said, actually, we should applaud Trump. He had a lot of courage for what he did. A lot of courage. She said, here, play this clip.

Speaker 301:10:25

But he's also said, Brian, I would do it again. And I think you have to give President Trump a lot of credit. He knew that this would be politically disadvantageous for him, that this was a political loser for him. And he did it anyway because he thought it was in the best interest of the safety and the security of the American people.

Ben01:10:44

But what's the it? I mean, obviously what she said is so crazy. So I can fact-check it, but you all know it's just demented. The it is the catastrophic war that we lost. He would do it to what? We would do another war and lose and commit war crimes and lose? That's the it? That's what you say we should do more of? Do it again? I mean, you know, they're acting like we didn't win the war. We lost the war. Not only did we lose the war, we lost like global hegemony. Like we lost the broader global power too.

We lost the post-World War II security architecture. We lost our alliances. We lost, we didn't just lose a war, which is bad. We lost the very foundation of the American alliances globally right now. You know, and obviously stock market crashed today. I mean, one of the worst days in stock market history today. And the fundamentals of our economy are bad. Are bad. And we've been saying that.

And all of this AI bubble, we've been warning it. These are all Trump's, this is Trump's crew. Trump took stakes in Intel and all of these companies and propped it up, propped up this phony stuff that we've been calling out from day one. All of this manipulation, by the way, including the way they, the way they've manipulated these Trump accounts. There's a way to do it where you actually can give money, you know, to kids at a young age that could be done the right way.

We could have a debate about it. The way they did it was to prop up Donald Trump's AI balloon, bubble that burst. And so now this is the statement that he says today. The stock market suffered one of the worst days in history based on the results of the election, such a sad thing to watch. It took so much work to get us to a level that no one has ever seen before than this. Your 401(k)s have therefore dropped. Remember, it wasn't Republicans. It was Democrats. Do not fear, however, we will soon one way or another be bigger and stronger than ever before.

Make America great again, Donald J. Trump. You're the president, bud. You're in charge right now. These are all of your AI tech bros. That's where, that's what was hit. And it's because the fundamentals are bullshit. And people saw what was actually going on with it. And this type of message right here is the arsonist. This is what they do. They destroy. They're like, let me fix it. Let me fix it. And that's why I say fortify our minds against these con artists.

They are the Epstein class. They are the fraudsters. These are the sex predators. These are the horrible human beings. These are the demonic people who got us into this hell. The way out of it is to recognize who they are, their tactics, the globalist authoritarian network that's at play. They tell you their playbook a lot with their projectionist confession. And that's usually sometimes one of the ways you could find out what's really going on here. But then it's also leaning on each other. We, the people, recognize they want to pit us against each other so that their 1% can feast on us and destroy us and ruin our lives while they're the ones out there who are causing the problems.

And we need to stay united. That's, I think, a broader lesson of this election, Brett.

Brett01:14:05

Well said. Well said, Ben. And I'm just going to say, this is going to be the first of many times that Donald Trump uses this tactic. Anytime things go bad now, and they're going to go bad a whole lot because guess what? We're still in this disastrous administration and Donald Trump has broken every aspect of our system. Things are going to continue to break. And his move is just going to be like, it was the Democrats. It was the Democrats. And that's going to be a strategy. And I just don't think it's effective, right? And that's also one of the reasons I think, you know, as Democrats go in there, like I said in the, you know, previous show that we did together, Democrats just should be really aggressive too.

Just like, just keep pushing forward stuff. Let Trump, if he wants to be Mr. Vito, let him be Mr. Vito. Keep passing, shoot for the stars, right? Universal healthcare, just any universal pre-K. Shoot for the stars. Try to pass as much legislation as possible. And then let Trump be Mr. Vito. Let Trump be the guy who people see every day ruining people's lives. Do that. That's all you got to do. It's one of many things. But in terms of legislatively, just do it. Let Trump be the bad guy because nobody's buying this shit. Nobody's buying that it's the Democrats' fault.

And he's going to do this every single day.

Ben01:15:11

Democrat. I mean, it's, it's, again, he's the demo. I mean, you know, who's who uses that language? I mean, again, you are the, you shouldn't be, but right now you're the captain. Okay. You need to act like a grownup. As I've said before, we need to have a baseline of seriousness and competence. He fails that basic test. We can go up from there of sophistication, levels of sophistication, but you have to be baseline serious. You have to be a grownup. You have to be an adult. You have to exhibit certain levels of behavior to interact, to interact with civility.

Like, and then we, and then we'll go up and then we can have certain debates, but he's not that. He's not that. You know, you go into the doctor's office and the doctor starts going, like, what are you doing? You go into an airplane and your pilot goes, hey, everybody, oh, look at mine, like, like orange face, hair everywhere, crazy looking, you know, you know, talking about, oh, do you like the blues? Do you like blue sky? Oh, can you imagine? Do you know this plane works? I'm so much better than the other pilot. You'd be like, get me off this plane, right? Your lawyer goes into court and goes, paper?

Have you seen paper? And then starts ripping it up and throwing it. He'd be like, why are you behaving this way? Right. The engineer, you know, starts, you like my Sharpie? You like my Sharpie? Like, what are you doing right over there? I mean, there's countless examples. I could give every profession. It's just like this, this behavior is abhorrent to just being a, being a human and interacting with others. Dr. Bandy Lee, go back. I did an interview with her today. You know, she says his arrested development is such that he hasn't developed past the age mentally of about two, two and a half years old and behaves worse than a really bad two and a half year old.

That's her psychiatric kind of diagnosis of him. And I wanted to try to understand a little bit deeper the behavior. Go back and watch that interview. I think it's an important interview I did with her this morning as well. So check that out. But that behavior is not acceptable. And what happens normally, like with a two-year-old who behaves like you say, no, you set limits. You say, stop it. And then you rein it in. And we now had this batter nation syndrome as a result of enabling it and letting it go on.

And so there's a way, but we have to recognize these broader themes.

Brett01:17:35

I think one of the interesting things too in watching that election night play out was just how defeated Donald Trump was. And it goes to what we say all the time. You just got to punch a bully in the effing nose, right? Punch a bully in the nose. Don't back down. Don't submit. Don't, don't go and go to Mar-a-Lago and be like, mister, can I please help you? I mean, this is just like basic stuff that we've been saying for a long time. I pulled this clip in because I just wanted to play. Like it sounded like Donald Trump was crying on election night. And just listen to how big of a freaking loser it is. And I've even noticed when he does all these tweets and we have Stephen Chung doing all these stupid tweets, being like, he's still your president and trying to act like tough guys.

I'm like, yo, y'all are some losers. You're a loser. And this just isn't, it's not hitting the same. I'm telling you that. But watch Donald Trump, like in my opinion, kind of near tears on election night, just being a loser on Fox News.

Speaker 401:18:24

And then I read at Fox that I'm not popular. You know, I mean, the Fox polls are terrible. You ought to get yourself a good pollster because your pollster is the worst.

Speaker 501:18:32

But tonight, actually, the results are pretty close to what the Fox polls show.

Speaker 401:18:35

Well, I don't know about that. I can just tell you about speaking for myself. And the results with Fox with me were wrong for 12 years. I mean, they've gotten me wrong for 12 years, but I don't care. It doesn't matter. People, you know, people see when you, when you look at the pollster recently that admitted they weren't even doing polls and they gave the information to the New York Times and they weren't even a legit, it wasn't even a question of legit. The one that just went out of business, they announced.

Speaker 601:19:05

I mean, you tell them I'm not popular. You said you tell them I'm not popular in your polls. I'm not popular, but I'm in popular. I promise the people like me. I promise.

Brett01:19:13

It's like, what a pathetic, pathetic individual.

Episode description

On this episode of the MeidasTouch Podcast, Ben and Brett break down the historic Democratic blue tsunami that swept across the country in the midterm elections—and the extraordinary MAGA meltdown unfolding in its aftermath. As Democrats rack up stunning victories in traditionally Republican strongholds, Trump's inner circle is turning on itself, top officials are resigning, and Republicans are scrambling to assign blame for their devastating losses. The brothers discuss the resignation of DOJ Civil Rights chief Harmeet Dhillon, growing calls for Pete Hegseth's impeachment, and whether furious lame-duck Republicans will finally turn against Trump. Meanwhile, Trump appears to have learned nothing from the election, obsessing over renovations to the Oval Office and White House ballroom while threatening further escalation in his catastrophic war with Iran. Plus, the absurdity of CENTCOM launching an influencer-style podcast in the middle of a war, Melania Trump's bizarre praise of Russia, JD Vance's attempts to distance himself from the disaster, and what Democrats' sweeping victories mean for the future of American politics. And much more.
