Look, between getting up early for the show, watching hockey late at night, and everything else going on, I'm trying to do a better job of taking care of myself, but I'm not trying to take a whole bunch of different supplements every morning. That's why I started using IM8. IM8 Daily Ultimate Essentials combines 16 supplements and 90 ingredients supporting 9 major organ systems into one drink. It was co-founded by David Beckham and developed by leading doctors and researchers. I just got my package and started working it into my morning routine, and that lemon orange flavor is my favorite. That is delicious. So far, I like how simple it is. One drink and I'm not dealing with a cabinet full of bottles, and I'm looking forward to sticking with it. There is nothing casual about football season. You can tell yourself you're just gonna watch one game, and 6 hours later, you're emotionally invested in a 4th quarter between 2 teams you don't even care about. That's what I love about this time of year. The entire weekend becomes football. You're texting friends, tracking games, second-guessing coaches, convincing yourself you saw something before everybody else did. And then Monday comes around and you get to do the whole thing again. Those are the weekends you remember. And for me, some of the best ones have usually involved some good people, a great game, and a cold Miller Lite. No matter what triumphs are in store this season, legendary game days start with Miller Lite. Cold, crisp, refreshing, that clean finish. And it's part of plenty of memorable football weekends. Make game day legendary. Go to millerlite.com/dan to find delivery options near you, or you can pick up some Miller Lite pretty much anywhere they sell beer. Game time is Miller time. Celebrate responsibly. Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 96 calories and 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces.
We've got a new series on YouTube. It's called Who Asked You? And the first episode is out today. It's with Michael Wilbon. Pardon the Interruption is celebrating tomorrow 25 years. I saw they promoted that on the air. They are promoting that for Michael Wilbon, who's been complaining that PTI does not get the same sort of support as the rest of ESPN products.
Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
The first episode of this is out today. The show is called Who Asked You? And it's a new series that we're doing on YouTube. We're going to get here. to Juju in a second to update some polls, give out some awards, and see if we have any other things in sports that we'd like to change. But did you guys see this story involving University of Miami defensive lineman Damon Wilson, who got a bunch of racist and homophobic tweets after the FSU game? And they went and he exposed those tweets. And what ends up happening is that Cade McClendon ends up with the Florida Bar suspending him. And I just want to know if you guys that Damon Wilson will ever have a more fulfilling sack than getting this guy disbarred because he just outed him, you know, with great public shame.
I mean, it'd have to be like walk-off sack in the national championship.
Pretty good.
Jalen Ramsey had one of those. That had to be a good feeling for Jalen Ramsey last weekend. Ending the game with a walk-off sack has to feel pretty good when you've had 10 tackles as a corner.
Juju is here.
We're gonna get to some awards and the poll. Holes, as I said. Welcome, Juju. Uh, anything though that we're changing about sports today?
Yes sir, man. Y'all had a heated debate earlier and it sparked me to think of some more rule changes. First off, this is— this goes across sports. So you mean to tell me you lie on me, I correctly call it out and I bought receipts and I show it to millions of people, and your response is Okay, but don't do that again. You're not allowed to do that again. That's what they doing with challenges, bruh. You are wrong, ref. I should keep a challenge for as long as I'm right. What say you, Chris Cody?
Spot on. It's ridiculous. I have 2 challenges and yeah, the ref makes the mistake and then I'm punished by not having any more challenges.
Yeah, it's the— it's the early stages of how they— some— they work some of this stuff out and it's going to have some failure in it before they get all of this right.
What if going into the game, game, the referee has a history of losing a bunch of challenges. So depending on who the referee is, hey, today you get 7 challenges. This guy, he screws up a lot. But, but then there's some games like, hey, you're only getting 1 challenge. This guy's almost perfect. What about that?
I love that, Zaz. See, that's why I go to you for all my judgments, because you are right on the money again.
You went to Chris.
I mean, I, I didn't go for him from a judgment standpoint. I went to get my— pass my brother the rocket.
On a bad day for me too. Oh, gravy Threw me the ball. I wasn't expecting it. I'm like, oh, yep, I just repeated what Juju said. I just repeated exactly what Juju had just said.
You weren't expecting the ball to be thrown to you.
I saw that, uh, Jonboy Media did something. They do some great work there. They really do. They did something in the Rays series when we talk about officiating that I wanted to bring up with you guys because it was so funny. In that, uh, last game with the Guardians, Richie Palacios is up, and they got 2 runs because of what I'm about to say, which is the check swing in baseball is unbelievably dumb in that the rule is is actually not, does the, uh, bat have to go past home plate? The rule is, does the third base ump think that you swung?
Yeah, just a judgment call.
Yes, it's like that.
The rule is just, let's go, let's point down the line at that guy. Did you see—
Where he clearly wasn't paying attention and he's like, oh shit.
It was like, it was like Juju throwing you the ball. He was daydreaming, he wasn't paying attention, and it's just It's not did the swing go past home plate, it's just simply do you think that he tried to swing at that ball? And it's just unbelievably stupid.
I do.
And, and the Rays end up getting 2 runs off it. Do you have to— do you have any other rule changes that you want to make here, Juju?
Yes, sir, I got 2 more. Well, the second one is not necessarily a rule change, just a question and a reminder. Referees, when are we calling flopping? Like, when is that call allowed? Like, can we just whip it out, or does it just have to put in a W-9. Like, I see flops all game. When do we call this? Greg Cody, have you seen a flop called in the history of your life?
I have, but very seldom. You're right.
They did it for one year. One, one year.
It wasn't even a year, it was like part of a season, and then everyone got tired of the— they, they just didn't abide by the flopping rule.
No, no. And, and they were only gonna fine $5,000 flops. Like, who the hell cares? That's like a flop.
Right. And last one. And Greg Cody, close your ears, brother. This one's for you. Man, I think that you have to make it mandatory that every home run hitter trots around the base as slow as possible. Do the opposite. Make the pitcher understand you have to have patience. Just because you see me trotting and celebrating for 40 seconds doesn't mean you get to now Next time I hit, throw a baseball at my head. Like, this happens. So I feel like if you are allowed to throw a baseball at my head, that happens, I should be able to celebrate as long as I can around these bases because this may be my last time because next time I might get hit with a baseball in my head. Greg?
I do love the invitation to creativity. I'm picturing a guy taking— he's already taken 2 full minutes to get from home plate to second base. And then at second base, he stops and he's doing like 15 push-ups at second base. You know, I mean, there can be a lot of, you know, and pretty soon it's like 5 minutes. 5 minutes is the over-under on the modern record for home run trot. If you're putting no limits on it.
I don't think in the history of our show we've ever had a more disproportionate penalty for a crime than Caminero spent too much time trotting around the bases. And Greg Cody damned him eternally to hell.
Okay, I damned him, not to hell. That was you. That was your embellishment. Damned him on earth. Embellisher!
You know what damned means.
He can stay here and be damned.
That's the venue of damning.
Look it up.
Look up, please, the definition of what it means to damn somebody, because I don't think— yes, thank you, Chris.
Yeah, no, like, keep running the offense through him.
Look, I say, if I say damn you, gravy boat over, I mean I want you to go to hell.
That is what it means.
That's almost literally what it means to damn somebody. I don't know where else you damn them to.
I damn you.
You damn them to Scranton. Scranton.
Well said.
Scranton.
It was originally—
oh boy—
originally meant to be condemned to hell.
Originally?
Though it is used often out of religious context. Originally to help.
Oh great.
Yeah.
No, I nailed that.
You shut up.
Let's all take the Bible literally.
It was easy to read.
Why did you stumble on it?
Christ, dude.
Were you scared of a word there? You were scared of a word. Is there a word that you just skipped past? What was— what was that? Don't mouth things unpleasantly to him.
He said the F-word to me a couple of times.
Was there something in there that was a word that was hard to read? Mike, look over his shoulder and—
Dude, I nailed that. Don't follow Tony's lead here. He's not a good lead blocker. He's running in the wrong direction.
Give me some awards.
Can I give a heat take first before we get to the awards? Just let me cook here.
I'm feeling it.
Remember what I said before week 1 with the Dolphins? That week 1 game was everything, and it turned out to be right so far.
You're gonna do that tonight?
If they—
no, no, no, follow me. If they— I said if the Dolphins lost in Oakland— I mean, in Las Vegas, it was gonna be a shit— and I was right about that. They haven't won yet.
It's gonna be a shit—
I got a feeling. Follow me here, guys.
Fight through, fight through.
Where? It's gonna be a shit— what?
Klay Thompson. The first 3-pointer he shoots tonight is gonna determine his whole season. He had a terrible, terrible preseason.
It does— just because you're imitating me doesn't make what you're saying any better.
He had a terrible preseason. He needs to hit that first 3-pointer. If he doesn't hit that first 3-pointer, could be a bad season.
Am I being punked?
We can do the thing where we just say, hey, can I have something quick?
Yeah, yeah.
I saw Will fall yesterday. At one point he tries to leave through the butthole.
Oh, not the blowhole.
Spoiler alert.
Anyone else want to say something real quick that they need to get off of their chest?
Me, MMA Hangout this Saturday, UFC 333, live, 2 PM. King of the Mountain's the butthole.
Anybody else got something they want to say real quickly before they get out of here?
No, I'm good.
Great Goaty Show podcast, wherever you get your pods, and also on YouTube.
When we were kids, bobbing for apples was disgusting. Like, what the hell was that? Like, my mouth ain't even big enough to get the apple. I'm just swapping slob with the whole Oh, second grade. Oh, I had to get it off my chest.
So true.
Lost art. They don't do that much.
Right.
COVID, man.
What other awards do we have, or what awards do we have to give out today before we get to the polls?
I think we got a lot.
Bruh, and this was written— this was in my notes before this segment. I like to give the Great Teammate Award to my brother Chris Cody, man.
Good job, Chris.
You have competition from Clark Connors.
Yeah, that's true. You feel me?
And I like to give the Bad Teammate Award to my brother Dan Le Batard for exposing Chris every day.
We just give him that.
Bad teammate.
The whole tonight situation with the guests.
And lastly, your fault, Dan.
I give the Be Better Notice That— Notice That They Were Too Far Away from the Microphone Award to my brother Greg Cody, man.
Good job. Self-awareness.
Good job.
Thank you.
@LeopardShow is where and how you vote on the polls. You could do so at all times. It's constantly updating. What do we have here, Juju, as it relates to, uh, how the people feel, feel about some of the things we were discussing today?
Better apology in print or in person? 80% of the audience says in person.
Yes. Of course.
Have you ever heard someone refer to the produce section in the grocery store as the fruit aisle? 58% of the audience says no.
Yes.
Damn it.
Pretty close.
Also, good teammate award right here, right quick. Chris, I will be shocked if the Boston Celtics win the championship this year.
Shocked's way different than stunned.
Oh, damn it. I'll be— how about this one, baby? I'll be stunned if the Golden State Valkyrie beat the Dream in the Finals. Take that.
Wow.
Fruitiles.
Better apology, public or private?
What?
58% of the audience says private.
Yes. I'll take either.
Right. If you tell a billion folks that I'm wrong or a liar, I need you to go tell them billion, uh, the same thing when you realize I'm not. Neither here nor there. Are the 76ers villainous this year? 74% of the audience says yes.
Yes.
Damn.
And that's without the parenthetical China.
Zazz?
Yeah.
Yes.
Blitz 6s.
Would you be more surprised if the Knicks won again than you were when they won it last year? 87% of the audience says yes, they would be.
Yes.
That's—
and last poll.
That's way too high.
What's your take?
That's way too high.
Too many people agree with me. They shouldn't agree with me. That much. That's way too many. That's not— my take was borderline, borderline on being wrong. They hadn't won in 50 years.
They love you, Dano. And last poll, is LeBron unlikable?
Oh, there's— no, there's where the parenthetical China should be.
62% of the audience says yes, he is. And those are your polls.
Yes.
Chris, do you have any text messages you want to share with the room?
I do not.
Maybe any text messages from Nick Wright you'd like to share with the room?
Nope.
All right, did he— Mike, steal his phone. See what it is that Nick Wright wrote him back.
Nick Wright had time for him, Danny. Sent him like 17 texts.
Oh no, oh no.
Doesn't mean he's right. I mean, we all know Nick's a wild gambler.
We can't trust him. You always split 8s.
"Will Damon Wilson ever have a more fulfilling sack?"
The crew gets some stuff off their chests.
