Look, between getting up early for the show, watching hockey late at night, and everything else going on, I'm trying to do a better job of taking care of myself, but I'm not trying to take a whole bunch of different supplements every morning. That's why I started using IM8. IM8 Daily Ultimate Essentials combines 16 supplements and 90 ingredients supporting 9 major organ systems into one drink. It was co-founded by David Beckham and developed by leading doctors and researchers. I just got my package and started working it into my morning routine, and that lemon orange flavor is my favorite. That is delicious. So far, I like how simple it is. One drink and I'm not dealing with a cabinet full of bottles, and I'm looking forward to sticking with it. So the Golden State Warriors, they open their season tomorrow. Steph Curry apparently is going to play. But the most interesting thing that happened with the Warriors this preseason, you gotta see this, Greg Hawk, you gotta see this. So you know what a doppelganger is, right? I do. Yeah, Greg, you know what a doppelganger is? I do. Yeah, it's when someone, someone's out there just like— there's another you.

00:01:28

Just another person.

00:01:29

It looks like you.

00:01:30

You think there's a doppelganger of you somewhere out there?

00:01:32

Definitely.

00:01:32

Definitely? Look at one.

00:01:33

Definitely.

00:01:34

Do you know— do you— have you met one? Have you seen one?

00:01:37

No, but I'm sure he's out there looking for me.

00:01:39

You can see one every morning on a walk by the beach in Delray.

00:01:42

So check this out. Check this video out. It's a Warriors preseason game where, where buddy— you could play it now— where this guy is going to his seat. He's holding a beer. And I mean, you could just see him. He, he looks like Steve Kerr. And this is right behind the Golden State Warriors bench. And you're gonna notice he's not trying to attract attention to himself. And at one point, Steve Kerr, in talking to his players, is going to notice this gentleman, and he is befuddled. He is so confused!

00:02:16

It's an impersonator!

00:02:17

Right, Greg? He's like, he, he, he's a Sta— why do you look like me?

00:02:22

Right? That's great.

00:02:23

And the guy wasn't trying to draw attention. Now they're kind of looking at each other.

00:02:26

Wow. The guy stares right back at him.

00:02:27

The guy stares right back at him. The guy's probably looking at him saying, why do you look like me? Is that— that's him! That is— Greg, if you saw that guy on the street, you'd say that's Steve Kerr.

00:02:38

That's Steve Kerr. Prove it's not.

00:02:40

That's a doppelganger. He looks just like him.

00:02:43

Identity theft.

00:02:44

That is so weird, right?

00:02:45

Love it.

00:02:46

Hawk, which is more surprising? Uh, you mentioned your—

00:02:50

Definitely the doppelganger.

00:02:52

You mentioned your picks going into this season was Rams-Chargers, which is going to be wildly wrong as far as the Super Bowl.

00:02:58

We didn't have to double back to that, but go ahead.

00:03:00

But which is more surprising, the 49ers at 6-0 or the Chargers at 0-6?

00:03:08

I'm gonna go Chargers at 0-6 because Justin Herbert's talent lends to that being virtually impossible. Because when you're supposed to be that upper echelon of talented quarterbacks with the movement, the arm strength, the vision— we've seen him with record-breaking performances previously— this isn't supposed to be an option. Not with Jim Harbaugh as the head coach. Not with Mike McDaniel.

00:03:33

I thought McDaniel was gonna get fired yesterday. I'm surprised he made it through the day.

00:03:36

I think there's probably some things going behind the scenes that we're maybe not privy to yet. But, I mean, this offense has looked bad. I mean, yeah, we know that from a personnel standpoint, it just hasn't been there. But it looks disjointed. There was games, I forget which game it was, they fumbled 6 times in a game. That is like practice. That's a lot of things contributing to very lackluster performances.

00:03:57

Put in layman's terms what Mike McDaniel has done to that offense that has spectacularly failed.

00:04:03

That is a loaded question.

00:04:05

I mean, he asked that question, but still at the same time— No, I get it though. But there are clips though where Herbert is throwing to a receiver with 3 defenders around him. What does that have to do with Mike McDaniel's offense?

00:04:16

And that's kind of the point. I think it's— I think it's honestly a combination. I think their interior line sucks. And with that offense, it is a running offense that if your guard-center combinations aren't good, it's hard to get to anything else. I think at times the fullback has played bad. I think they don't have a ton of talent at wide receiver. And to your point, I don't think Justin Herbert has played great over this tenure. And then on top of that, I'd say Justin Herbert's playstyle is I am 6'7, and I have a rocket arm. I could see it and I can throw it. And this offense is high anticipation. So if you don't anticipate, you will always be late. There have been plays and throws that when you're watching Justin Herbert against the Broncos to end that game, he throws it right to a defender. He— it's like he made that decision to throw that Sunday pass on Thursday. And those kind of plays, coupled with the fact that everyone's still trying to pick things up, it's looked bad. It's looked horrible. And you wouldn't expect that for somebody with the talent that Justin Herbert has.

00:05:13

And Chargers have a personnel issue. They play 3 running backs and split a lot of time, even though Amari and Hampton's good. They play 13 personnel a ton, right? Like, it's a very weird offense to try and figure out. I know they don't have wide receivers and they're trying to make good with other positions, but those other positions aren't good either. I was saying it at the haunted house. I don't know if you guys heard me or not because we were afraid. Yeah, I was screaming and so was Rose. But is there a scenario where we can see the Chargers looking at it and being like, we've seen 5, 6, 7 years of Justin Herbert, we know what we have, we could probably try and go do something else.

00:05:43

I mean, they're about to be in position for one of these really, really good quarterbacks, a top position. And I think—

00:05:49

I mean, or you just take Jeremiah Smith.

00:05:50

Is that gonna fix it?

00:05:51

I don't know.

00:05:52

I think, I think he fixes a lot of things. No, really,

00:05:54

it's hard for a receiver to fix that much because they're so— I won't say easy to take away, but in the NFL, if you don't have you know, a tit for his tat, you are easy to be taken away.

00:06:07

You know about that tit-tat?

00:06:08

Yesterday I said the Rams should trade Stafford because they already have their future quarterback in Ty Simpson. They have the skill position players.

00:06:16

Yeah, you said that yesterday?

00:06:18

Yep. I said that they should trade Stafford because they're bad and they're already as an organization in a weird spot where they've given up all of these draft picks to acquire all of these other players. To where? It's a soft reset. What do you think? I think the Giants are in a spot where they could sure use a quarterback where they They're in first place right now.

00:06:35

How about Minnesota?

00:06:36

Eagles are another team that could certainly use a quarterback. Minnesota makes a lot of sense because they're already 5-0. But would the Eagles be dead in the water if they had Matthew Stafford? I don't know the answer to that.

00:06:46

If Matt Stafford went to— I mean, that's what— He doesn't want to leave LA, right?

00:06:50

But he's got one year. Like, it's— this is sort of a rental type of situation, what you're looking at with Matt Stafford. And you're not getting like the crazy several first-round picks haul that that you would in a previous iteration of this. But does it make any sense for the Rams to move away from this now at 2-4 and already having their quarterback and just saying, you know what, let's see what we've got in this kid and going from there since he's not the long-term solution, Stafford?

00:07:18

That's a great thought if I was confident that Matt Stafford would go somewhere else and play. If it's a Matt Stafford saying, hey, trade me away, then that makes all the sense in the world. You try to trade Matt Stafford to the New York Giants, he might be like, yeah, I'm good, I'm calling it. Or trade him to Minnesota. That's what happened last year. He has a relationship with KOC, so that could make sense. But otherwise, if it's not like, yeah, I'm gonna go somewhere where I feel good about winning a Super Bowl—

00:07:39

Correct, directly to compete and be in control.

00:07:42

Yeah, he has to be the one kind of spurting that.

00:07:45

So you agree he goes to Minnesota and we're all good?

00:07:47

Yeah.

00:07:47

So you endorse my take? Thank you.

00:07:49

Absolutely.

00:07:49

I mean, what do you think? Do we see Greg tomorrow? Locked in.

00:07:52

I want to go back to negotiating a peace treaty, Greg. I understand your stance and I support you, but I don't think everyone should suffer because of Dan's betrayal. And that's what I really want to hone in on for you, is that there are a lot of people who are counting on you, who are looking forward to this, and Dan aside. And so don't punish all of us because of Dan's betrayal.

00:08:15

Yeah, like, I show up here no matter how often Dan shits on me. You know what I mean? And it

00:08:20

shits on you but hasn't betrayed you.

00:08:21

He hasn't betrayed you.

00:08:22

He hasn't betrayed me, but it's day after day after day, and there's a reason I still come here. It's because my teammates rely on me to be here and do all of the things that they can also shit on. Sure.

00:08:30

That's it. No, I get that, but betrayal does outrank shit.

00:08:34

Yeah.

00:08:34

That's for sure. On the hierarchy of things you can do wrong to a person, betraying them is worse than shitting on them.

00:08:39

I think you're here tomorrow.

00:08:41

I think— Do

00:08:41

you?

00:08:41

I do.

00:08:42

Don't bet a lot on it.

00:08:43

I think you're here.

00:08:44

Okay.

00:08:44

I think obviously the beef is between you and Dan. I somewhere stand in the middle of that.

00:08:49

Yeah. Is there beef with Tony?

00:08:50

No, no, no. We're both Substackers just trying to make a living.

00:08:52

Well, he said you're essentially a pawn.

00:08:54

Did you know that there was an exclusive already in place before you asked Dan to write for you?

00:08:57

Of course.

00:08:58

But yes, it's on Dan to say, no, I can't, I have an exclusive deal.

00:09:03

No, look, on the Greg Cody Show podcast, which dropped yesterday, I mentioned specifically that I have no beef with Tony.

00:09:11

Okay.

00:09:12

My beef is with Levitard, who wrote directly in the piece for me that I was gonna be the home for his Substack writing. And then he obviously forgot about that or lied or something. And I haven't heard anything from Le Batard that amounts to, geez, I'm sorry about that. I misplayed that. I'm sorry.

00:09:35

So does there need to be some type of public apology from Dan Before 9 AM tomorrow?

00:09:41

Yeah, I think so.

00:09:42

Maybe a Substack article, if you will?

00:09:45

He could apologize on mine too, Greg.

00:09:47

There you go.

00:09:48

And then I'll cover it because it's 10 Day Tony's Substack and it's Greg's Substack. I've got the Jeremy's Leotard Sub Sub, which covers what goes on on 10 Day Tony's and on Greg's.

00:09:59

And then I would recap it on Amin's Jeremy's Leotard Sub Sub Sub.

00:10:03

Yeah, and then I'll wrap the whole thing up on Wassup. Bye-bye.
