Host Ben Meiselas reviews a week of developments in the Russia-Ukraine war and US policy. He covers Zelensky's public criticism of the Trump administration's handling of weapons deliveries, including the delayed PURL program, and Ukraine's strikes on Russian refineries, data centers and military sites.
The episode also examines reported plans for US-Russia deals, a Lavrov visit tied to G20 talks, concerns about Russian influence in an Alaska LNG project, and Russia's nuclear cooperation with Iran. Meiselas also discusses the firing of Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, Melania Trump's reposts about Oleshky, and the limited effect of a Russian diesel deal on US prices.
Throughout, the host presents his own interpretation of these claims, which listeners can weigh against the sources he cites.

All hell is breaking loose as Donald Trump's plan with Putin is backfiring in Trump's face. Zelensky completely has exposed Donald Trump being a Putin bootlicker, and Zelensky is refusing to surrender. Let's talk about what's going down. As you have Putin praising Elon Musk, as you have the Trump regime firing yet another top general, this time a 3-star lieutenant general that the Trump regime claims was leaking information about Russia's war in Ukraine. We'll talk about how diesel prices are not going down at the same time Trump made that unlawful diesel deal with Russia. We'll talk about the United States Senate sending a letter to the tanker bringing the diesel to the United States and warning anybody who unloads that diesel or handles that diesel will be criminally prosecuted in the future. I want to start though by showing what went down, where you have President Zelensky in Ukraine not backing down Despite the fact that the Trump regime is doing everything they can to get Zelensky to surrender. Take a look right over here at the Tarkhankut area. This is in Crimea right now, occupied by Russia. Let me show you as the Ukrainian drones striking targets there.
This was caught on video. Let's play this clip. Now, even though the Trump regime is refusing to provide Zelensky with interceptors or interceptor licenses, and the Trump regime is also delaying weapons systems being sent over to Ukraine, which were purchased by Ukraine and Europe as part of what was called the PURL program, the P-U-R-L. This was a program where the US was supposed to sell certain types of weapons to Europe and Ukraine. There are contracts and deals in place, but the Trump regime is refusing to honor them. So we're just delayed, and we don't have weapons of our own. So Ukraine doesn't have the weapons it bought, the weapons it was promised. But they're doing everything they can anyway, using, for example, the F-16s they have now to shoot down Russian drones that were targeting Ukrainian infrastructure. Watch this. It was caught on tape as well. Let's play it. Oh, And then during a meeting that was taking place between Vladimir Putin and Equatorial Guinea's president about keeping the country safe, you had air alert sirens going off. During Putin's meeting, and then the TV cut off and said air alert, air alert, air alert.
You know there's potential Ukrainian missiles coming in. There's potential Ukrainian drones coming drones coming in. Watch what happened here. Play this clip.
Внимание, внимание! Ракетное апаснест, ракетное апаснест на вسيтеритории Тульской области.
Now I want to show you one of Russia's largest ammonia producers on fire. This is the Azot chemical plant in the Nomskavosk area over here in the Tula region. This Azot chemical plant was struck by Ukraine. It's part of the Eurochem Group, one of Russia's largest nitrogen fertilizer producers. The facility manufactures not just ammonia, but also ammonium nitrate, urea, And methanol as well. The plant is significant to Russia's military-industrial complex. Let me show you what it looked like when it was on fire. Let's play this clip over here.
What do you mean?
And far from, uh, making Zelensky less popular in Ukraine right now, or making it so the Ukrainian people don't support striking Russian diesel refineries, uh, the latest polling data over here, uh, out of Ukraine, about 80% of Ukrainians favor continuing strikes on Russian oil refineries. and rejecting Donald Trump's threats. Let me repeat that number: 80% of Ukrainians in the latest top, uh, credible polling out of Ukraine, 80% Ukrainians say keep on striking these diesel refineries, Zelensky. Now, as Donald Trump sees his plan to help Putin backfiring in his face, one of the things we now know is happening for sure— Sergei Lavrov, Russia's foreign minister, will be here in the United States in the next day or two in Atlanta for the ministers conference in advance of the December G20. So Donald Trump invited Putin to the G20 in Doral, Donald Trump's golf club, uh, in December. But there is the ministers meeting of the G20 where the foreign ministers all meet. So Secretary of State Rubio, then you'll have the foreign ministers from the different countries. Lavrov is going to be attending. And one of the things that Russia and the Trump regime have been talking about is that they want to have a negotiation over a future European security architecture, but Putin and Lavrov are saying Europe is not allowed to take part in it.
So there can be either a bilateral or even a trilateral. Ukraine will be invited potentially to a negotiation between Trump, uh, and Witkoff and Kushner on the one hand, Lavrov and Putin or whoever from Russia on the other end, probably Ushakov and Um, uh, Kirill Dmitriev. Um, but what Putin said is Europe's not allowed to attend, uh, any meeting over the future of Europe. And so Ukraine President Zelensky says, so Russia wants to negotiate something about a new security infrastructure in Europe with the United States, but not invite Europe. How do you negotiate a security infrastructure in Europe without Europe? Zelensky said yesterday. Play this clip.
Any days, as early as possible. But at the end of the day, as I said to you, we will not negotiate. Russia wants to negotiate something new, something I don't know what. They speak about some security infrastructure in Europe. How you can negotiate security infrastructure in Europe without Europe? What you will negotiate with whom? With China? Interesting.
Now, a lot of reports coming out as well that the Trump regime and Putin are working on a lot more deals together, not just this diesel deal where you have what, like a few hundred thousand barrels of oil heading into the United States on this, uh, tanker, uh, that will be arriving pretty soon. But the Trump regime wants to do data center deals, fertilizer deals, um, gas deals, uh, uranium deals, uh, with Russia. And as I've reported on before, uh, it does appear— and Financial Times did a great exposé on this— there are probably there's probably already right now massive Russian infiltration in places like Alaska. You know, the big LNG facility in Alaska that was funded by $25 billion— the American company thought that the Abu Dhabi investors were actually Abu Dhabi investors, but it turned out that they were straw men for Russian money that was sanctioned in Siberia. but instead they moved the operations to Alaska. So as these American executives who were running this LNG factory or plant in Alaska found out that the money was actually Russian money funneled or laundered through, in essence is what they believed, at least alleged, um, uh, Abu Dhabi strawmen, they all resigned, especially as they see Democrats about to win the House and the Senate.
But this project in Alaska appears to be kind of completely Russian-controlled already. Um, and this, by the way, is at the same time that if you actually look at what's been happening in Moscow, like Russia just held its conference, its Gas Exporting, uh, Country Forum, the GECF, where Iran was like the guest of honor right there. Foreign Minister Araghchi of Iran posted Iran's energy diplomacy advanced at the GECF summit that was in Moscow. Discussions focused on global gas markets and energy security. security. And then there was a meeting on the sidelines of that conference between Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi, Iran's President Paseskian, Putin, Lavrov, and others from Russia, where they talked about a lot more nuclear development together. And not just expanding nuclear capabilities within the Russia-Iran joint venture called Bushehr, the Bushehr nuclear plant. They want to add additional units to Bushehr, but they They also talked about building 8 more nuclear power units throughout Iran together. And then you heard from Rosatom, or Rosatom, uh, the main energy and nuclear company in Russia, um, announcing that they were going to put a lot more staff in the Bushehr nuclear facility in Iran. So as Trump's like, Russia's not helping Iran, no, they're not only working to do with each other, they're working together on nuclear power plants and military operations.
major economic deals, uh, together. Meanwhile, you had Vladimir Putin saying the following yesterday about Elon Musk. Elon Musk is an industrial genius. He has more than 5,000 spacecraft in orbit. We are in close contact with our American partners, including Mr. Musk. That's how Russia now refers to the United States, as our American partners, because Russia sees itself now as allied with Trump, and Trump sees itself allied with Russia, and that Europe and Ukraine are thrown under the bus. As I noted at the outset of this video as well, late last night you had Pete Hegseth, the Defense Secretary, announced that he was firing Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, um, who was what's called the J5. That's part of the Joint Staff. That's like the main military planner who gives the advice to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs. This is a big, big position. Hegseth previously fired the prior J5, the prior Lieutenant General 3-star in this position. And then late last night around 1:00 AM, Hegseth went on to defame Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia. You know, right now the Trump regime has fired or pushed out 26 of our top 4-star and 3-star generals and admirals.
This is like the biggest gift to Russia and Iran or to any country that was potentially an adversary of the United States. But late last night, Hegseth then defamed, uh, uh, this, uh, Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia and said the following: Sylvia is the subject of an investigation for leaking classified information about the war between Russia and Ukraine. And Hegseth's— or a leak from the Defense Department went on to say that, you know, members of the press who are in the Pentagon have to have escorts around them at all time. And, uh, what they claim that Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia would do, what he would meet with reporters outside of the Pentagon and give them information. And they say they administered a polygraph to Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia and he failed Hegseth's polygraph. So they announced this major termination of this key position that is like the, like the number 2 position in the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Um, and by the way, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs issued a very famous favorable statement when they learned, and they were surprised, that Hegseth had fired Army, uh, Lieutenant General, uh, Brett Sylvia, who by the way was the commanding officer of the 101st Airborne, uh, Division as well.
Um, you also have Melania Trump reposting the head of Russia's sovereign wealth fund and the envoy to the US, Kirill Dmitriev, So Kirill Dmitriev was posting about the propaganda that Newsmax is doing, um, with Russia in the, uh, area of Oleshky. Remember that the Pope was negotiating a limited ceasefire in the Russian-occupied area of Oleshky where there's like 1,500 to 2,000 elderly people. They previously lived in Ukrainian territory. There were a lot of Ukrainian journalists who were warning, and The Atlantic posted a story about this, be very mindful of the propaganda that's about to take place. Russia is going to try to open up, uh, do a limited ceasefire in Oleshky, then bring in, uh, a camera crew that will do propaganda, speak with some of the elderly residents there, residents there who will speak very negatively about Ukraine and very favorably about Russia. And this is going to be carefully scripted. This is at least what the Ukrainian journalists were saying. And so you have Melania Trump reposting Kirill Dmitriev. Kirill Dmitriev says, as the local ceasefire in Oleshky holds and, and demining efforts progress, Russia welcomes Newsmax journalists this morning to witness and report firsthand on the vital humanitarian mission coordinated by First Lady Melania Trump.
Humanity and peace must prevail. Then reposts Kirill Dmitriev, and then she writes, documenting Oleshky, 4 American journalists from Newsmax. Just think about that sentence, folks. Think about just how dystopian all this is that I'm saying right now. 4 American journalists from Newsmax will be on the ground in Oleshky, embedded with the Russian and Ukrainian humanitarian leaders serving as neutral observers. They will independently record and permanently document this historic humanitarian mission. Ukrainian journalists got ahead of this and predicted that this was what was going to happen. And as I've been warning now for many, many, many months, the better part of a year, I've been talking about these Melania Trump child reunifications that she's claiming are taking place. And I've expressed my opinion. I'm entitled to opinion speech. You can have a different opinion. But I said, this feels in my view like it is giving cover to Russia and trying to downplay how catastrophic this war is by both-sidesing the issue. And Melania basically claiming that Ukraine has stolen all of these Russian children. And yes, Russia stole Ukrainian children, but it's really a both sides issue. So there's going to be this exchange, and that she's facilitating this exchange, and that every time she does one of these exchanges, we never really get to see the kids or their parents or what this even is.
We never really get data or details about it, but they claim this, you know, humanitarian mission. And then Steve Witkoff goes to Russia and he tells Putin, you're a great humanitarian, you're doing great humanitarian work. And so in my view, this was all about creating a kind of storyline that the Trump regime can say Putin and Russia are doing great humanitarian work. And while you have this catastrophic war, uh, that's ongoing and taking place and escalating, uh, and getting worse by, uh, by the day. A few other developments I want to talk about. Um, let's talk about what Zelensky just said Um, you had Zelensky travel, travel to the Netherlands. He was there with the Prime Minister, and here's what he said while he was next to Prime Minister Rob Jetten over in the Netherlands. Zelensky says, our key shortage right now is Patriot interceptors to take down Russian ballistic missiles. Russia is betting primarily on ballistic missiles in this war, especially with winter approaching. We now need particular help securing anti-ballistic missile interceptors. Europe has these resources, and so do our partners in the United States. It is important that the relevant programs truly work, particularly the PURL initiative.
That's what I talked about before, P-U-R-L, and that the US side does not delay deliveries under the program. We are counting heavily on support for this at every level. The PURL program, once again, is a program where Europe and Ukraine purchased weapons from United States defense contractors and manufacturers. There's contracts and the US is still not providing what's already been paid for by Ukraine and Europe. Zelensky goes on to say, every day of delay means losses and destruction for us, given that Russia's ballistic missile campaign against our cities and communities continues every single day nonstop. We need the appropriate deliveries and deliverables. As it relates to the front of the war, the actual kind of trench warfare that's taking place with drones, it's basically World War I trench warfare meets The Terminator, but even more dystopian with the way the drones operate in the kill zone, which is basically like anyone who tries to advance, these drones swarm right away and just kill everybody. Um, this year, Ukraine's position on the front where the war is being fought remains stronger than they have been in a long time during the war. If our partners' support for Ukraine remained just as strong, particularly when it comes to Patriots and other air defense capabilities, Ukraine would be in a much better position diplomatically as well.
Just now in October alone, since October 14th, there have There have already been several Russian ballistic missile attacks. Essentially in 2 weeks, more than 100 ballistic missiles have been launched against Kyiv and the region. Unfortunately, there are significant restrictions on supplies with air defense packages being delayed. It's the Trump regime delaying packages that have been purchased and there were contracts for. I want to thank all our partners who provide their support on time. The Trump regime is not one of them. And then Zelensky says, many people didn't see that Russia was attacking our data and cyberspace over a long period of time. Then we found a way to weaken Russia's strategy to respond to their attacks on data. We are different here. Ukraine is more technologically advanced. The Russians attacked our data centers so many times, and still we had cell service and an internet connection because we are digitally decentralized and advanced. Our responses are more painful for Russia. Because they are more centralized. They have a different strategy because they have a lot of air defense assets. They are simply defending what they have. We don't have too much air defense. We have a shortage.
That is why we decentralized everything, not only data, but we always tried to respond and do so only after Russia's attacks against us. And Zelensky there is also talking about the Ukrainian strikes on Russian data centers Like the Yandex data center, where there have been at least 3 Yandex data centers that have been destroyed by Ukraine, which have resulted in a lot of Russian bot activity, um, being reduced significantly. So, uh, this has been a very comprehensive, uh, update on everything that's, uh, going on right now. And I should note, I mean, the Wall Street Journal article, Trump, we, we know this Though Trump's deal with Putin hasn't done much to ease diesel prices. Trump's deal with Putin had little impact on lowering diesel prices in the US. The Wall Street Journal reports the average price of a gallon of diesel fuel in the US has risen by 7 cents to $6.35 since the Russian diesel supply agreement was announced on October 9th. The Trump regime announced that Russia had agreed to ship more than 300,000 of fuel to the US global markets. Last week, a tanker departed Primorsky in Russia carrying 300,000 barrels, not 300,000 tons, 300,000 barrels, which is nothing.
And it's heading towards New York. At the same time, you have the, uh, bipartisan senators, by the way, Senator Blumenthal posted this letter, but it's from a bipartisan group of senators. who are saying to anybody involved in the chain of custody of Russian diesel, we're coming after you, especially, you know, when the House and Senate, uh, shift and change power, uh, which is likely going to happen, um, which is likely going to happen soon. Um, so we'll keep you posted on all of these developments. I was going to say the very large crude carriers that leave the Strait of Hormuz or get hit by Iran's They carry 2 million barrels per VLCC. So 300,000 barrels is like, you know, a fraction of a VLCC. It's like nothing. It's just nothing. But this is Trump and Putin wanting to be partners and demoralize Ukraine and kind of establish a broader framework of a US-Russia alliance. or more like a Trump-Russia alliance while screwing over the United States. Trump is the enemy from within. The enemy from within. WTF America. That's our book. Get the hardcover, get the ebook. We are now number 2 on the New York Times bestseller list.
