00:01:47

00:02:39

Hey.

00:02:42

Football guy, Patino, AWM. Part of my take, yeah. Part of my take, yeah. Part of my take, yeah. Part of my take, yeah. Part of my take. Welcome to Part of My Take presented by DraftKings. The crown is yours. Today is Wednesday, September 23rd. And boys, we had Jameis Winston on Monday Night Football and it didn't look great.

00:03:18

I mean, Jameis hasn't gotten any reps.

00:03:20

He needs a week with the ones.

00:03:21

Jameis is a reps guy. He's been— you know what? I give Jameis a PFT grading of an A+.

00:03:28

Okay.

00:03:29

Because his assignment going into this game, you have to understand, a lot of people that just watch these games on TV, they don't know what the assignments are for each guy out there. That's Jameis's assignment going into this game. Be the best backup you can be.

00:03:41

Yes.

00:03:42

Gas up the boys on the sidelines. Yes. Jameis, A+. Absolutely delivered. If you don't understand that that's what his job was, sadly, you're not a real film watcher.

00:03:50

I agree. Give him one week with the ones. Next week they're playing— I don't remember who they're playing. Oh, they're playing Titans. Titans. Jameis is going to go off. I was just more sad. And we'll talk about the Rams, but When Jameis— it sucked that Jackson Dart got hurt. The Giants like had a torture watch on Monday Night Football where you have all the vibes as high as they could be after the Cowboys win, where Jackson Dart plays a legitimately very good game. Everything's working. Defense looks good. Cam Scadaboo. And then you get into this game. Arvell Reese gets hurt. Jackson Dart gets hurt. Malik Nabers hurts his shoulder, then comes back in. But It was— there was a moment there where you're like, what did Giants fans do to deserve this? Because it really, really sucked. And it sucks that Jaxon Dart probably is going to miss some time. But the Giants, that was last year's Giants or the year before, the year before that. That's what we watched on Monday Night Football. And I, when Jaxon Dart went out, I was like, oh, Jameis, like this is going to be— this game is about to get crazy and fun.

00:04:53

Didn't go that way.

00:04:54

I think it's fair to say they still need some help protecting the quarterback. Yeah. That's still a big need for the Giants. I don't think that any amount of Harbaugh in the locker can, can fix that overnight. Um, I thought Jackson Dart leaving the game, trying to come back in, they had to steal his jersey.

00:05:07

Yeah.

00:05:08

They had to— the, uh, people in the locker room, I don't know if it was the doctors, the equipment staff, some sort of coach actually had to take his jersey away so he wouldn't try to get back into the game, which is great news if you're a Giants fan.

00:05:19

Yeah.

00:05:19

I think he's like, I gotta get back out there with Cam. Cam wouldn't— Cam wouldn't fight his way back into the game. Cam's lost without me.

00:05:25

Yeah. And the Rams, uh, I, I kind of expected the bounce back, and boy did it look good, especially the, the Davante Adams part, because Puka not playing, And Davante Adams being— he looked like, like Davante Adams of old. He looked like stretching the field, catching these deep bombs. Stafford looked comfortable. He did have like one Stafford throw where it was like, what are you doing, dude? There's— it was 2 guys draped over Davante Adams. He's like, fuck it, I'm just gonna throw it up there. But, uh, and I think Stafford— did Stafford become 6th all-time in touchdowns, uh, last night? I believe so. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. Hall of Famer. He's gonna be a Hall of Famer.

00:06:01

Just an amazing shot a while ago.

00:06:02

Amazing first half from Davante Adams.

00:06:04

Adams too, just like lit everything up. And it looks like for a while, you know, they were, they were just kind of a red zone pairing, like Matt Stafford, right? Adams, it was like, I'm just going to get inside the 10-yard line. You're automatic. You're my go-to guy. And I wasn't sure that Davante Adams still had it in terms of like that all-around receiver and deep threat. There were a few times last night, it's like the timing's there, right? With him and Stafford, he was throwing the ball before he was open, trusting that he would get some separation. And it was, Yeah, I think the Rams are maybe who we thought they were before the season. Credit to McVay, by the way, for saying like, sometimes your coach is a dumbass that doesn't understand how time works. Yes. And yes, I like hearing that because as a dumbass that also doesn't understand how time works, that doesn't also mean that we can't be great coaches.

00:06:48

Right, right. Yeah. And you're right about the Davante Adams, like the touchdown merchant stuff last year. I mean, that's also when Puka's in there. Yeah. Puka's stretching the field. That was a scary sight for anyone who's in the NFC to see Davante Adams feel like, like that was a classic Davante Adams game. I know the Giants secondary is banged up.

00:07:06

And I just trust McVay so much that even if Davante Adams was out for a while too, he'd find one way to get one of his 4 white tight ends to be a downfield threat too. Somehow, yeah, you end up seeing Parkinson running like a 4.3 40.

00:07:18

Yeah, Terrence Ferguson scored last night. What'd you guys think about these Rams jerseys?

00:07:22

Gross.

00:07:23

Disgusting.

00:07:24

I did not like them.

00:07:24

I, I didn't mind it, but that's just because I grade Rams jerseys on a scale of like, they get a, they get a lot of leeway because they've got some ugly ones.

00:07:33

They made the yellow worse.

00:07:34

Yeah.

00:07:35

Yeah.

00:07:35

I, I, so my first reaction was these are disgusting. Then they started to grow on me. Then I saw Harrison Mevis in it and it went the exact opposite way again, where I was like, oh, these are really, really bad because Harrison Mevis, he's a big boy.

00:07:50

It's not flattering.

00:07:51

It's not flattering.

00:07:52

If you're in really good shape, like a lot of things, if you're in really good shape, those jerseys look good on you.

00:07:57

Yeah.

00:07:57

And if you're not, um, they kind of— it's kind of like a highlighter for BMI. So the higher it is, it's like it draws your eye to it.

00:08:04

Yeah.

00:08:04

Like if you see Davante Adams standing next to Harrison Mevis, you're looking at Harrison Mevis in those jerseys and you don't want to be looking at Harrison Mevis in those jerseys.

00:08:12

No, Davante Adams looks cool. Harrison Mevis looks fat.

00:08:15

Yeah. They're kind of like— they're very Swedish coded.

00:08:18

Yeah, they are.

00:08:19

I feel like this is IKEA football.

00:08:20

They also—

00:08:21

yeah, it just doesn't feel like a real NFL team. Yeah, it feels like a fake, like an NFL team you'd watch in a movie about the NFL, about the league.

00:08:30

Yeah, we'd like— yeah, about like, this is the Kurt Warner story. Yeah, that's what we're watching right here.

00:08:35

We're watching the Los Angeles Bananas.

00:08:37

Yeah. Oh, gross. Don't, don't put that idea out.

00:08:40

Fuck you for putting that out into the universe.

00:08:42

Bananas in football? Fuck you.

00:08:43

I don't know if that would work. I don't think, I don't think doing a backflip over the middle—

00:08:48

If a fan, if a fan can get out there and make a tackle during a play, it counts.

00:08:52

Yep.

00:08:53

Yep.

00:08:53

Okay.

00:08:53

So that was Monday Night Football.

00:08:56

Also, I don't know what it is. Aaron Donald. So his return.

00:09:00

Yep.

00:09:00

He didn't have like—

00:09:01

Max hates him.

00:09:01

He didn't have a spectacular Aaron Donald game. Max was rooting so hard against him. Max, you admitted you were rooting against him.

00:09:06

Yes, it was personal.

00:09:07

I just don't want Aaron Donald to be as good as Aaron Donald used to be because that's bad for the Eagles.

00:09:12

Okay.

00:09:13

And I was also right.

00:09:15

That he didn't get a sack?

00:09:15

Didn't get a sack.

00:09:16

Yeah, he did get a tackle for loss.

00:09:18

Not a sack.

00:09:19

But it was a tackle for a loss. He looked—

00:09:21

which I have a question.

00:09:22

It's another way to say a sack. That's incorrect. Well, you could just—

00:09:25

a separate—

00:09:25

well, no, but a sack is a tackle for a loss.

00:09:27

It's just a random thing that we just put a tackle for loss sign, right? We randomly say it's a sack because it's the quarterback.

00:09:33

Oh, because the quarterback, it's now a sack. But it really is the, the actual definition of it is like it is a tackle for a loss.

00:09:40

Here's the thing.

00:09:41

You think it's more— wait, do you think it's more valuable for him to tackle Here's the thing.

00:09:45

We were talking about sacks.

00:09:49

Would you rather have him tackle for a game?

00:09:51

This is also a fight that the 2 of us are—

00:09:53

that the 3 of us are having that the listener has no idea. I'm not fighting either.

00:09:56

You guys are fighting.

00:09:57

No, it honestly sounds racist that he's like, it's more impressive when he tackles a white man.

00:10:02

What?

00:10:03

Yeah, quarterback. You're like, oh, sack.

00:10:04

Who was playing quarterback last night?

00:10:05

Jackson Dart.

00:10:06

For the Giants?

00:10:06

Jackson Dart.

00:10:07

Yeah. For the majority of that game.

00:10:09

Starting. What do you mean majority? You don't like minorities?

00:10:12

Oh, see, the majority means that he played a majority of the snaps.

00:10:16

Yeah, you're discounting the minority.

00:10:17

So the minority quarterback actually was Jackson Dart?

00:10:21

Correct. In last night's game.

00:10:21

Wow, that's interesting.

00:10:22

Oh, so you're saying that like he's being replaced?

00:10:25

He had a minority of the snaps.

00:10:26

Okay, interesting. I think you've revealed a lot about what makes you tick today, and thank you for that.

00:10:32

Yeah, we actually had— so we were— to catch up the listeners, the I— we were interviewing Scotty Scheffler at, at the team hotel last night, and we were waiting for Scotty Scheffler. And I realized this, we've been doing this show for a very long time, and we've been in these settings a lot of times, and we got to start recording them because whenever we're just all sitting in a small room together, we just start doing a show without the show, without anything on. And so we started doing the show about Max hitting Aaron Donald. I think we should— I think we should start recording that and then putting out a best of the what didn't make the show.

00:11:10

But Max does root against Aaron Donald. He's admitting that, but it's mostly just because he thinks that Aaron Donald is a threat to the Eagles.

00:11:16

Yeah, we do have a lot of these on PMTV of what you're describing.

00:11:21

I don't think— Never heard of it.

00:11:23

Check it out on our YouTube.

00:11:25

He looked okay for not having played football in a couple of years.

00:11:28

I just invented PMTV.

00:11:30

That's exactly what you did.

00:11:31

Whoops. Okay, my bad. Oh, that's why Shane had the camera?

00:11:36

Yeah.

00:11:37

Oh man. Okay, uh, what else going on, guys? Anything, anything going on in the NFL world? Yeah, should we talk college football?

00:11:48

Yeah, so, uh, let's, let's do our injury check-in.

00:11:50

Yeah, let's do injury check-in. How's Jayden doing? Dr. Hank, how's Jayden doing?

00:11:54

Dr. Hank, can you give us an injury roundup around the league?

00:11:58

Drake May, clean bill of health.

00:11:59

Okay, I'm good.

00:11:59

Thank God.

00:12:01

Jayden Daniels, uh, I don't know if it's because we talked about this on the show and the algorithm, just the— there are a lot of memes, not AI memes, about, about his teammates leaving him. Talks about— I don't know what happened at ASU with like people celebrating when he left, but there's, there's rumors and scuttlebutt, which I, I don't believe. I believe PFT that there might be some locker room issues with Jayden Daniels.

00:12:25

Yeah.

00:12:25

I, I, I don't know how that's related to his injury, but Hank said he doesn't believe that.

00:12:29

Good. Yeah, I'm glad he doesn't believe that.

00:12:31

It's just the, the, the speculation just goes up and up by the day, and there's just—

00:12:35

One thing we won't do is speculate.

00:12:37

No. Did, did teammates really have a party for him when he left ASU?

00:12:40

Yeah, some of the teammates were happy that he left. Yeah.

00:12:42

What? That seems—

00:12:44

We don't know. You can— the rumors are out there that like maybe they didn't love his mom being around.

00:12:49

The Jackson Dart one was crazy. Like, I assumed there was— this was like taken out of context or something. Did you see this one?

00:12:55

Oh, side by side?

00:12:56

Yeah, I mean, there it is, apples to oranges, because one was the very last play of the first half and the guys were on their way to the locker room and the second was during a play and the guys were staying on the field.

00:13:05

Yeah.

00:13:05

So yeah, I figured, yeah.

00:13:06

They wouldn't walk off the field if they had another play they had to run. Uh, the other was, I honestly, I don't think that you need to make up stories about Jayden being a locker room problem.

00:13:16

Agreed.

00:13:16

Commanders, there's enough, there's enough to go around to talk about Jayden and the injuries and the will he, won't he, should he come back.

00:13:24

Yeah. This seems unnecessary.

00:13:25

It seems unnecessary. I, I, I, honestly do not believe for even a brief moment that his teammates don't like him. From what everything that I've heard, his teammates love him. He was voted captain by his teammates.

00:13:37

Yeah.

00:13:37

So, and, and this is the first year I think with Dan Quinn where it's had— they've had season-long captains and not just like week to week. And they voted him as a captain.

00:13:47

What quarterback has to be a captain?

00:13:49

If not, not all.

00:13:50

It would be a—

00:13:51

not always.

00:13:52

I mean, if you're a 3rd-year player, right? You've been in the spot. Like, but if he wasn't the captain, that would be a big red flag.

00:14:00

But if they hated him, I don't think they'd— the point of what I'm saying is I honestly don't think for even a second that that team doesn't like him. I, I know from what I've seen, and I pay pretty close attention to the Commanders news and like interviews and shit in training camp, they love him. His teammates love him. Uh, so I'm giving you— I'm not worried about that.

00:14:18

There's just a lot of talk not only about the injury but kind of how he is off the field and The same with Caleb Williams.

00:14:23

They love him.

00:14:25

He's perfectly fine. He's probably practicing today.

00:14:28

That's just not true. Hold on.

00:14:30

Would you put him ahead or behind of Drake Maye in the health power?

00:14:34

Ahead.

00:14:35

Healthiest is Caleb. Second, Drake Maye. Hope he gets better. And then third, Jayden.

00:14:40

If you take out grade 2 and 3 hamstring tears, what's the most severe hamstring injury you can have?

00:14:49

Grade— I don't know.

00:14:50

Grade 1. Grade 1, which is what Caleb has. So discounting 2 and 3, he's got the most severe one that you could have. And thank God his body is like Wolverine and he healed so fast. Uh, I don't know why all these disgusting, you know, Andrew Tate, Connor Filiberto, Dave Portnoy of the world are just making fun of a guy for showing a little emotion. On a football field. Football's an emotional sport.

00:15:19

I sat—

00:15:20

it was, I think it might have been in New York, but I sat and you guys talked about Mac Jones crying, getting taken off the field.

00:15:26

That's because he had DUIs.

00:15:28

For probably an entire episode.

00:15:29

Hank, let me ask you a question.

00:15:30

Big cats specifically being like, if your quarterback is doing this, you guys suck.

00:15:37

Let me ask you a question, Hank.

00:15:38

This is not a sign of QB1.

00:15:40

Let me ask you a question, Hank. The DUIs.

00:15:41

that he had, like bloodshot red.

00:15:43

Oh, that was— yeah, that was the DUI. That wasn't the—

00:15:46

No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

00:15:47

The crying eyes from the accident DUI.

00:15:48

You just made up— like, you just tried to deflect.

00:15:51

No, no, the DUI eyes is what we were talking about.

00:15:53

The DUI eyes match with—

00:15:53

No, it wasn't.

00:15:54

It was not.

00:15:55

Well, let me ask you a question, Hank. Are you— how old are you?

00:15:59

That's— you can't ask that question in the workplace.

00:16:01

What?

00:16:02

It's illegal.

00:16:02

That's a good point by Hank.

00:16:04

You're not allowed to ask that question.

00:16:05

Never ask a woman how much she weighs.

00:16:07

Never ask Dave Portnoy how much money he makes. Never ask Hank his age.

00:16:11

Why? Never ask Dave Portnoy why does he only take one bite. What, you're 34? Whoa, 33? Yeah, okay, you're 33. Would you say that as a 33-year-old you're the same guy as you were, you know, when you were 25? Like this Mac Jones thing you're bringing up, I was 37 years old and only a father of 2. People can change.

00:16:34

This is, this is like How long ago was this?

00:16:37

People can change. I think about— I think about 37-year-old me. I was so immature.

00:16:42

I'd forgot about the Mac Jones tears. Thank you for bringing that up.

00:16:45

I was so immature. 2022, was it?

00:16:48

2022.

00:16:50

So, I mean, how was I? I was 37. I mean, that's a— that's a baby. I'm not even a man.

00:16:56

What did Mac Jones have?

00:16:57

Now I'm a man.

00:16:58

High ankle sprain.

00:16:59

It was a high ankle sprain.

00:17:00

Crying is actually—

00:17:01

What grade?

00:17:01

Good.

00:17:02

I don't remember the grid.

00:17:04

I would see— the thing is, I'm watching this from afar and I'm secretly envious of Bears fans.

00:17:10

Why? Because this is because our quarterback is Wolverine.

00:17:14

This is what you would want if you're— if we're talking about injuries during the week. As somebody that's dealing with the other side of that coin, I would much rather my quarterback be a giant pussy than be injured.

00:17:24

Now, I don't know if giant pussy—

00:17:26

that's a lot.

00:17:27

That's a lot. That's erroneous. I'm throwing that out of court.

00:17:30

I would love it if he was, you know, if he was a big— okay.

00:17:33

In the moment, I, I, he was very hurt.

00:17:36

I pray for days like that instead of actually having an injury.

00:17:39

In the moment, he, he thought he was very hurt. And then did you guys know that, uh, your heart rate often rises just before or at the start of crying, then drops, breathing slows and respiratory sinus arrhythmia. Uh, so it actually calms you down.

00:17:53

So basically Caleb healed himself in those moments on the cart, which is actually amazing.

00:17:59

Like, it's incredible. The human body, we should be talking about that.

00:18:02

He went down with a When the injury happened, it could have been a grade 3.

00:18:06

Grade 3, possibly Achilles.

00:18:08

Well, okay, that's just a different part of the body.

00:18:11

But you don't know.

00:18:12

We don't know.

00:18:12

The doctors weren't able to look at it. They got him on the cart. He put the towel over his head. Quick little cry. Healed.

00:18:19

Like what Caleb did was he made his own personal injury tent with the Gatorade.

00:18:23

Correct.

00:18:24

And then while he was in there, he respawned. Yeah.

00:18:27

Yeah. That's impressive.

00:18:28

It's—

00:18:29

yeah.

00:18:29

Again, we should be talking about his ability to have as a quarterback, his ability to come back from injury is insane.

00:18:34

It's surreal. I have a question.

00:18:36

Yeah. Either of you torn your hamstrings in the past?

00:18:38

Yeah, I had a grade 2.

00:18:39

I have. Yeah, I had grade 2, borderline grade 3. It was almost all the way torn through.

00:18:44

What was your reaction to that?

00:18:45

I cried.

00:18:46

I don't remember. I don't think that anyone knows what it was.

00:18:48

I cried.

00:18:49

Okay.

00:18:50

Yeah.

00:18:50

I don't think it's possible to tell what my reaction was. I might not have, because unlike, unlike, unlike NFL quarterbacks, I don't get these injuries on film on a football field.

00:18:59

What was actually— oh wait, we had— shockingly, we do have this injury on field.

00:19:03

What is this? Are you saying people can't have different responses Have you ever heard of like people who are in shock and they have a different response? They don't even remember something.

00:19:13

I heard that trauma is by individual to individual.

00:19:16

Exactly, Max.

00:19:18

So one individual, yeah, just handle it a little bit better than another.

00:19:21

One individual can be really, really tough and strong.

00:19:24

What part of—

00:19:25

and a real guy's guy.

00:19:26

What part of Caleb's handling of it was, was not good? He was—

00:19:30

he's retweeting stuff about like— he seems to be in his feels about it.

00:19:33

No, not at all. He's, he's taking notes.

00:19:37

What?

00:19:37

He's taking notes online.

00:19:38

Let me look up his retweets. He's writing these down.

00:19:42

Well, I mean, like, Dave Portnoy is a disgusting pig who is—

00:19:48

What about— yeah, what about the TikToks?

00:19:49

That guy made some great points.

00:19:52

Toxic masculinity.

00:19:53

Toxic masculinity is a problem in this world right now.

00:19:56

Some of us are displaying toxic masculinity.

00:19:59

Exactly.

00:20:00

Some of us are actually mature adults who understand that, uh, it's— first of all, the way these guys are battling every Sunday for our enjoyment, and then they get hurt and, oh, they're, they're now soft, as you say. Come on, please. So you're saying—

00:20:16

I don't think I ever said the S-word.

00:20:16

So you're saying—

00:20:17

Well, no, PFT called him a pussy.

00:20:18

No, I said I would rather— I was playing a game, would I rather. And from where I sit, I would rather people be saying those things about my quarterback than to actually have a quarterback that is, you know, maybe his left arm might fall off.

00:20:32

Ah, you're saying that he— it's okay for him to have feelings while simultaneously saying he's not in his feels about people chirping him?

00:20:42

I don't know.

00:20:42

I—

00:20:42

you—

00:20:43

how do you know that he's on in people's feels? Retweets are not endorsements.

00:20:46

I'm looking at his Twitter right now.

00:20:48

Everyone knows retweets aren't endorsements. I have it in my bio.

00:20:51

He does not have that in his bio. But there's no retweet.

00:20:54

I don't see—

00:20:55

He's also gone all over multiple platforms, reposts on TikTok, Well, the guy on Instagram made some really good points, really, really good points about how this world is— I mean, we're going to hell in a bucket, right?

00:21:07

And most guys don't even know how to make girls come, right?

00:21:10

Exactly. Yeah, I don't.

00:21:11

Wait, what?

00:21:12

That's what—

00:21:12

that's what—

00:21:13

that's how the guy started off the other one.

00:21:16

The other one was that, uh, people are like weirdly— the, the losers going after Caleb are weirdly attracted to him, which I think that's true. I think Dave is probably attracted to him.

00:21:25

I'm looking at— I'm looking at the retweets from Caleb. There's no recent retweets. I guess he deleted those or he unretweeted them.

00:21:31

That's fine too. But he slipped—

00:21:33

the most recent reply that he has is a guy that was talking about his Hot Ones appearance saying, going to DoorDash a 12-piece and sit in my living room butt-ass naked with a bottle of bourbon so it feels like me and my bro are eating together. And he replied, cry, cry, cry.

00:21:47

Yeah, he—

00:21:48

that's the most recent.

00:21:50

Caleb's for the fans. What are you showing PFT's hamstring for?

00:21:53

I just wanted to say—

00:21:54

Oh, I forgot about that. Yeah, we got hurt.

00:21:56

We didn't have this on camera at a football field.

00:21:58

Oh yeah, it popped. I kept running a little bit and then I get to the sidelines like a football guy.

00:22:03

Yep.

00:22:03

Get out of bounds.

00:22:04

That's good.

00:22:05

Get out of bounds, young man.

00:22:06

This is probably grade 1 as well, right?

00:22:07

Yeah.

00:22:08

No, it was very high grade 2, almost grade 3.

00:22:12

Listen, I had the same injury as PFT. No, I talked about it a lot last year.

00:22:17

You wouldn't even know.

00:22:18

I did the interview.

00:22:19

I can submit my MRI if we, if we want to analyze the MRI.

00:22:23

I can submit mine too.

00:22:23

And we can put it side by side with Caleb's.

00:22:25

Listen, you guys are just being ugly.

00:22:26

I scored.

00:22:27

I actually scored on the play.

00:22:28

You did. Touchdown.

00:22:28

You got all the way there.

00:22:29

Touchdown. Tutty.

00:22:30

Tutty. That was a grade 2.

00:22:32

Yeah. Very high grade 2.

00:22:34

Almost grade 3.

00:22:35

Almost grade 3.

00:22:35

I can still, if you want, you can feel the lump in my hamstring that's still there.

00:22:38

You're not even walking with a limp.

00:22:39

I did. No, I did walk with a big limp.

00:22:42

Yeah.

00:22:42

Yeah. Also, adrenaline's a thing.

00:22:44

Yeah.

00:22:44

Caleb had a limp. He had a light limp. Oh, are you saying he didn't have a light limp?

00:22:50

No, he had a severe limp.

00:22:51

Now you're just trying to erase the facts memes.

00:22:54

I read the reports in the last week.

00:22:56

I feel like you didn't want him not to play this week just so you can say he's more injured than he is. Like, would you rather have him play or not play?

00:23:01

No, he's Wolverine. Like I said, he's somehow the greatest ever to come back from injury, from severe grade 1 hamstring injuries.

00:23:11

So you want him to play?

00:23:11

Yeah, I want him to play.

00:23:12

You went through a roller coaster yesterday of being like, Let me attack everyone who says he's coming back because it seemed like he was going to come back against the Eagles. And then you were like, oh, oh, okay. Well, no, Schefter said he's probably not even going to play this.

00:23:24

Well, he's weak.

00:23:24

And you said that—

00:23:25

you don't have the injury news.

00:23:26

A sense of relief.

00:23:27

No, no, no. The injury news is all over the place.

00:23:31

It's—

00:23:31

there was relief when you said that.

00:23:32

It was false week to week.

00:23:33

Then it was not.

00:23:33

Now he's back.

00:23:34

I want him to play. And he'll probably play because he's the toughest guy I've ever seen. But you were like, oh, listen, 2 guys on Sunday. 2 guys on Sunday. Well, yeah, because everyone's freaking out.

00:23:44

Crisis averted.

00:23:44

Tom Pelissero says that he's playing.

00:23:46

and then Schefter says he's not. Let's get on the same page, guys. But wouldn't you be upset that your quarterback can't play?

00:23:52

I see 2 guys.

00:23:52

One guy, I'm very— I am, I do, I want him to play on Monday.

00:23:55

I'm so upset.

00:23:56

I want him to play on Monday.

00:23:58

But you were relieved when you checked the report.

00:23:59

Well, no, because I was relieved that they were actually getting real news. Tom Pelissero was just conjecture, wild conjecture.

00:24:04

That also wasn't real news from Schefter.

00:24:06

It was real news from Schefter. I trust Schefter. He's never been wrong about any injury news except for the one that he got wrong with Kobe Bryant in the preseason. That was specifically about the Bears. Maybe his Bears source isn't great either. Neither here nor there. Uh, I don't even remember what I was gonna say, but it was gonna be a good point.

00:24:21

How long is Jayden out?

00:24:23

It depends. He's seeing a specialist today. They're gonna tell him whether or not he needs the surgery or not. My, my fear is that he's going to try to play through it, give himself like 3 weeks off like he did last time, put the brace on, get back out there, and then America will have to watch him dislocate his left elbow the next time he tries to brace himself for a fall again. And that's— I don't— nobody wants this. Uh, I, I know that he's a tough guy who wants to get out there and compete. He's trying his hardest to get out there.

00:24:47

I hope—

00:24:47

I wish that he could play next week. That'd be awesome if he was healthy enough to play next week.

00:24:51

But, um, what happens if he has to get surgery?

00:24:53

Then probably out for the rest of the season. Oh, and there's Hank rooting for injuries again.

00:24:58

That sucks.

00:24:59

Yeah, room for injuries. This all— I was thinking about this on the way in. This whole offseason has felt Vaguely Snyder-esque.

00:25:06

Season started.

00:25:08

No, let me finish my point, please. It's felt recently in DC vaguely Snyder-esque in the way things have gone. Like injured starting left tackle in preseason, out. PR mistake involving quarterback, out. New offensive coordinator asking quarterback to do things that he hasn't done before, check. Stadium renderings come out after a bad loss against a division rival.

00:25:32

Check.

00:25:33

To like pat you on the head. There, there. It'll be okay.

00:25:36

I—

00:25:37

catastrophic injury involving your quarterback of the future. Check. It feels— I don't want to cast aspersions on Josh Harris, but it feels like I can blame LeBron for this. I've seen that LeBron has, has taken Josh Harris's eye off the ball because he had to spend the entire offseason coddling his new player for the Sixers.

00:25:54

So I kind of blame Josh Harris for LeBron James, by the way, at The Rams game, not at practice.

00:25:59

Not at practice. And Josh is probably very concerned about that. Not at practice. Taking his eye off the ball. Commanders.

00:26:04

He seems like he doesn't want to leave LA.

00:26:06

September.

00:26:07

Yeah. All right. Can I do real talk for a second? Real talk. I, I, I think the internet is crazy. The fact they're not applauding. Chicago had 2 serious, serious injuries on Sunday. Alex Bregman broke 8 bones in his face and Caleb Williams had a severe mild one. uh, or severe grade 1 hamstring, and both guys are gonna probably play. Like, that's insane. Chicago tough. That's crazy. See, you think trainers are very similar, right? Both very similar. But, uh, no, actual real talk, I, I enjoyed the hell out of yesterday because the memes about Caleb are funny. I, I like— that's the internet being the internet. You can't actually be upset about the memes.

00:26:52

They were Caleb was.

00:26:55

You don't know that. You know, you know how he's feeling?

00:26:57

Yeah.

00:26:57

The king of don't tell me how I'm feeling, Henry Lockwood.

00:27:00

If I start reposting stuff on my story, I'll remember this.

00:27:03

I'll remember this thing. That's, that's next time. That's right. I don't know what I'm feeling.

00:27:07

Good point. Maybe Caleb has rest. Maybe he's got resting injured face.

00:27:11

Click that video. The video of the guy. That guy's making a great point. What?

00:27:18

Most of you guys don't even know how to make women come.

00:27:21

Exactly. He kind of looks like Colton.

00:27:23

Sounds like him.

00:27:24

Yeah.

00:27:24

How you got carted off for a hamstring? Most of you guys don't even know how to make a hamstring.

00:27:29

That's a good—

00:27:29

great point. Good impression. Great point.

00:27:31

No.

00:27:31

All right. So, Fred Caliendo, in seriousness, I, uh, the, the memes were very, very funny. If you get upset about the memes, you're a loser because that's the internet beating the internet. I also think there is a weird undercurrent of people who actually do hate Caleb and they will use it as like, like it's not a meme. They're just like, he's the softest. like pussy ever. And like, this is crazy. Those people are weird to me just because they, they'll hate Caleb for anything. And I actually am a little excited that it was getting a little too calm. When Caleb gets drafted, the fingernails, everything, like everyone's, oh, this guy can't be a quarterback. And last year he was just, he wins a playoff game, beats the Packers twice. Week 1 happens, people stopped kind of hating Caleb. Now we're back to people hating Caleb. And I love it because when he wins, it will be that much sweeter. So I'm excited. I'm excited for the opportunity.

00:28:24

Yeah, you'll have it on Monday.

00:28:26

Yeah, hopefully he'll play. Hopefully he'll play. The memes were very funny though. I mean, that was a— there was an onslaught. It was from like 9 AM to—

00:28:35

You were getting mad though. You got mad at memes.

00:28:38

What?

00:28:39

When?

00:28:41

In the morning.

00:28:41

What'd I say?

00:28:43

Memes. Like, I memed.

00:28:44

I said— I texted him and I said, meme anything you want from the part of my take main account, did I not? Yeah, he was just including me in the toxic masculinity.

00:28:52

You—

00:28:53

wait, did you think I was being serious when I was, was saying memes, you're being mean?

00:28:58

Kind of.

00:28:58

Okay, I'm sorry.

00:29:00

You were, you were half— you, you like were in your feels at first.

00:29:03

And look at my tweets.

00:29:04

Gradually, Hank, gradually.

00:29:07

Hank, you can call my quarterback soft, you can call him pussy, you can do all that stuff. If you thought that my tweets yesterday We're not having fun with the whole situation. You're basically— No, you were.

00:29:18

You were.

00:29:19

No, wait, Hank, look at my tweets. I called out Barstool Sports.

00:29:24

I saw.

00:29:25

I know.

00:29:25

I know.

00:29:26

There were stars. You couldn't really tell what you were talking about.

00:29:28

That was today. I called them out with the stars because I don't want— I don't want Dave Portnoy fucking name searching me. It's disgusting. Hank, I can guarantee you that those memes, I was having a very good time with with people, the Legos guy, which that is actually a serious injury.

00:29:44

It's gonna be great once the—

00:29:45

you're right now trying to gaslight.

00:29:48

Once the brands start getting involved, that's when it's really gonna— I think we're about like 3 days away. Oh, the brands are definitely getting approval from 100% firing off like McDonald's doing when the, when the milkshake machine is down.

00:30:00

Yeah.

00:30:01

Yeah.

00:30:01

No, these people, these people are toxic masculinity is rampant in our society. Klavikler, Dave Portnoy, Andrew Tate, Connor Filiberto.

00:30:09

I hope, I hope he'll be back.

00:30:11

The big 4.

00:30:12

Are Bears fans actually mad at the memes?

00:30:14

Uh, of course anyone who is, is, is being a loser. Uh, I think there are also— there's the— I think Bears fans are mostly more fighting against like the people I was talking about, the undercurrent of people who actually hate Caleb, like actually despise him and want any excuse to like call him out. If you're mad about the memes, you're a loser. Those memes are funny. Memes like— ultimately, do you— I think Caleb probably is sitting at home right now being like, I probably maybe wish I hadn't, you know, taken the cart knowing that I'm not that injured. Like, it happens. What are you going to do?

00:30:47

Memes. Did you get upset at all the Aaron Rodgers memes when he tore his Achilles?

00:30:51

I still get upset because it gets tweeted out every single day.

00:30:55

Yeah, it has really lived on. And he actually tore his Achilles.

00:30:59

Yeah, that's a real injury.

00:31:00

Yeah.

00:31:00

Snaps. But kind of like a—

00:31:02

there's not really one. I didn't think about that until, until yesterday. And I was like, memes has just been dealing nonstop with Aaron Rodgers American flags. And like, I don't even think about that meme as being like something that's even related to an Achilles. That's how, that's how poisoned my brain has become from the internet. But it must suck as a Jets fan, like all day, every day, to see a reminder of a very promising season that got brought down by an injury in like the second play.

00:31:28

Yeah.

00:31:28

Yeah.

00:31:29

You just see it.

00:31:29

But people just like, it was such a sick— they rub it in your face because it's just like, oh, it's the Jets. Who cares that your quarterback got injured?

00:31:35

Bears quarterback gets injured, it's—

00:31:38

you can't meme it. Like, no, you can. What are you talking about? Who's saying you can't meme it? There are Bears— yeah, there are Bears fans, but Jets fans were saying you can't meme it too. No, we—

00:31:46

what?

00:31:47

We just— we just accept it.

00:31:48

Oh, come on. I think we're— I think we're confusing some things here. You can definitely meme the Caleb injury. I mean, Hank, which tweet of mine yesterday did you think I was actually like really— I didn't say tweet.

00:31:58

I was talking. We were— we were together all day.

00:32:00

I told— I texted memes right away.

00:32:02

I was like, Unload the clip.

00:32:03

I don't give a fuck. It's funny. You got to do it. You got to do your job.

00:32:06

Okay.

00:32:07

I was wrong.

00:32:07

My bad.

00:32:08

I mean, they're like, it's a ridiculous story. It's a ridiculous— like, the whole thing is crazy. He's not that hurt. And it's, it's funny that it all happened.

00:32:19

It's great.

00:32:20

I thought he was in that moment. I thought he was very, very hurt.

00:32:23

Yeah.

00:32:23

The bow tie doctor I don't trust, by the way. That's when you get a guy— a guy can't go on TV with a bow tie and be like, I'm a doctor.

00:32:30

I love doctors after like a big injury happens that They just call the news and they're like, hey, hey, news. Yeah, I'm a doctor if you want to have me on the news.

00:32:39

Yeah, it was— yeah, the guy who said the— this is Barstool Sports being gross conversation. Yeah, it's disgusting stuff.

00:32:47

It's the—

00:32:48

Barstool Sports is a plague to society. I think we can all agree.

00:32:53

Yeah, some of the longest-term employees, I would say, of Barstool Sports.

00:32:56

Agreed. Yeah, Blutman getting in on it. Sad stuff from Blutman. Really, really sad. That's a good quote. I'll just remind everyone, crying doesn't mean you're weak. Sometimes it's what you need to do to get strong again.

00:33:08

Um, and, uh, did a lot of crying and he got strong really quick. Yeah.

00:33:13

Thank you.

00:33:13

So, yeah.

00:33:14

So point proven.

00:33:15

Great quote.

00:33:15

Yeah.

00:33:16

In the, uh, Commanders—

00:33:18

I thought I was being dead serious with that quote.

00:33:20

In the serious injury Commanders wrap-up, 14 starters are out with injuries now. 14. 14 out of 22.

00:33:28

That's—

00:33:28

I would, I would love for the biggest controversy to be that my quarterback can't handle a little bit of pain.

00:33:33

Yeah.

00:33:34

Do you see the exclamation point? That's the giveaway. Mean memes, exclamation point. That's a pretty good giveaway that it's— I'm not actually saying memes mean you're mean.

00:33:44

But counterpoint to that, I think we're entering like minute 10 of you arguing that you're not mad.

00:33:48

Well, because I don't like that Hank is doing this where he— I guess I now feel like—

00:33:53

That was a good counterpoint.

00:33:53

Yes, good counterpoint.

00:33:54

I mean, I just kept—

00:33:55

It's a good counterpoint because he didn't come with any facts and he just said that, oh, you were really mad. Yeah, he is gaslighting me. So I'm— I now understand why Hank gets upset at us. Yeah, I get it. He's gaslighting me. But let's hear about the Commanders injuries.

00:34:08

No, I was just saying 14 out of 22. Yeah, that's a lot. It's a lot. One guy had to spend the night in the hospital. He almost died.

00:34:16

That's bad.

00:34:17

Hope Nick Cross is okay.

00:34:19

Okay, anything else with Caleb or Commanders or any injuries?

00:34:24

Dallas Goedert.

00:34:26

Yeah.

00:34:26

What happened with him?

00:34:27

He's hurt.

00:34:28

But he got Zach Ertz.

00:34:28

Zach Ertz back.

00:34:30

How long is Dallas Goedert out?

00:34:32

A couple of weeks.

00:34:34

Okay.

00:34:34

Yeah, it'll be fine.

00:34:35

Did he cry? Probably.

00:34:38

I don't think he cried.

00:34:39

The Eagles do a very good job of like, that's what Big Dom does.

00:34:43

Yeah.

00:34:43

He cries.

00:34:44

Nobody can see.

00:34:44

Yeah. Cover up the tears. We also should just be talking about the fact that Caleb's mustache did look cool in that moment.

00:34:50

Oh, it looked great.

00:34:50

Yeah.

00:34:50

It looked really good. We need to have more conversation about his chiseled jaw.

00:34:54

He did look—

00:34:54

that's about the tears.

00:34:56

As far as a guy crying, getting carted off the field, that was probably the hottest it's ever looked.

00:35:00

The Trump-Caleb mashup was pretty good.

00:35:03

That was good.

00:35:03

Yeah.

00:35:03

Fight the flags in front of him.

00:35:06

It was crazy. We went from Caleb-Derrick Rose mashups to Caleb-Trump mashups immediately.

00:35:13

Yes. Yes.

00:35:14

It was like memes to like the saddest degree.

00:35:17

Yeah.

00:35:17

Like Clowning him ultimately in 12 hours. Yeah. The fact that he's not very injured, injured is making it so that we can— people can laugh about it because it would have sucked. I mean, I did think he tore his Achilles in the moment.

00:35:29

Very wrong. Great.

00:35:30

Very wrong.

00:35:31

Also, Saquon likely to land on IR.

00:35:33

It is just okay.

00:35:34

What happened with him?

00:35:36

It's a stinger.

00:35:38

Yeah.

00:35:39

How can you go in the IR for a stinger?

00:35:41

Well, have you ever like— have you ever stepped on a bee? It hurts.

00:35:47

Actually, I don't know if this guy is legit.

00:35:49

I was just watching film today.

00:35:50

By a fake doctor.

00:35:52

Max is watching film.

00:35:53

Yes, I am watching film. I've— we've had a really busy couple days. All-22 doesn't come out right away. That should— they should do that. And then Monday, we weren't— I wasn't by a computer for the entirety of yesterday. So I've gotten in the film this morning. I'm about 2 and a half drives in. There's some good plays, there's some bad plays. There's notes on almost every play.

00:36:14

Notes on almost every play.

00:36:16

Some plays, it's just like, just like everyone did their job. Everyone did their job. The defense did their job. And it's like, it's a run for a 3-yard gain.

00:36:24

I would actually, I would actually love breakdowns of the most boring plays of the week.

00:36:28

Like, I have everyone, every 4-yard gain.

00:36:31

Everyone did a good job on this play, blocked it up.

00:36:34

Beautiful.

00:36:35

That's what I'm talking about.

00:36:36

No, no, no. Those are— those are not no-note plays. No-note plays are like runs where we just didn't get quite enough push and the defense filled the gaps. Those are my no-notes plays.

00:36:49

Got it.

00:36:50

That's a film watcher right there.

00:36:52

Yeah, yeah, that's the thing about film is that, uh, you gotta—

00:36:57

I got nothing. I got nothing on film.

00:37:00

I'm still trying to figure it out. There's some plays where I'm like, like, I think that this person should be doing this, but I don't know what— if that's their assignment. So I have those in the notes as well.

00:37:10

You just have to guess sometimes.

00:37:11

I guess I'll just post a full breakdown of all of my notes when I'm done with them.

00:37:15

I like that. I've been watching film too.

00:37:16

Uh, all right. Yeah, how's it been going?

00:37:20

Slow.

00:37:21

Wow.

00:37:21

It's a grind. It's just a grind because you got to watch every player. You watch one guy and then you rewind, watch the play again, watch a different guy.

00:37:29

Yeah.

00:37:30

So unless you're focused in only on one player.

00:37:33

I don't know how he does it. It's fucking insane.

00:37:36

He does so quick.

00:37:37

I know. I guess when you know what you're looking for. Yeah, I think probably a little easier.

00:37:41

I think he just watches and he just like hopes to see violence on every play.

00:37:45

Yeah.

00:37:45

And he's like, oh yeah, that's some good violence.

00:37:48

That's it.

00:37:48

The Condor.

00:37:49

That's some good violence. There's a shark in my backyard.

00:37:51

Hang on.

00:37:51

The Condor looks good.

00:40:04

Okay, college football. Lane Kiffin, uh, falls up short. You see they're calling him LSU James Franklin now because he can't win the big one.

00:40:12

I haven't seen that.

00:40:13

That's—

00:40:13

it's a little early to be doing that.

00:40:15

Well, they're saying in his career.

00:40:16

Yeah, in his career. Yeah, we need, I think, a bigger body of evidence.

00:40:19

I actually thought, and Max hopped on WUB this morning, and I agree with his point that like I watched that game and I was impressed that LSU came back. Obviously Trinidad Chambliss was phenomenal. He's, he's rapidly going up. I mean, he's the best college football quarterback right now. We'll have to see when Darian Mensah plays someone with a pulse. But LSU coming back was impressive. That to me was more of like a, is Sam Levitt a little overmatch type of deal than it was Lane Kiffin.

00:40:48

They could have won the game, right? The opportunity was there for LSU to win, and they had a quarterback that just didn't— there were like 2 plays that stood out on that final drive where there was an opportunity to win the game.

00:40:57

Correct.

00:40:58

And he didn't make the plays. So you could say, yeah, sliding doors moment. That's also on Lane Kiffin, by the way, for not having him prepared to make those plays. Like, that is coaching to a certain point too.

00:41:08

Um, I also—

00:41:09

I don't know that we can say he can't win the big one at LSU yet.

00:41:12

Oh, I don't agree with that.

00:41:13

This also was an environment— this was maybe the biggest one though. Like, this was an environment that I cannot really think off the top of my head of a more hostile environment for a regular season college football game than this.

00:41:26

It's— I mean, it's, it's this or, you know, the Michigan-Ohio State after the Mase year.

00:41:32

Yeah.

00:41:33

But even then, that wasn't— I think Michigan, Michigan won that game, but they weren't— or no, was that the one? That might have been the year when they put the flag down with the year they won. When they went into it, though, they weren't a playoff team. So maybe not as big.

00:41:46

Yeah.

00:41:47

I mean, yeah, we have rivalries.

00:41:48

And LSU-Ole Miss is always a big game, especially if it's in Oxford. Like, they hate Ole Miss.

00:41:53

Yeah, the crowd was awesome.

00:41:54

And the crowd was great. This was like, you know, a very, very intense environment to play in, which is great. I love to watch it. Good for Ole Miss, by the way. That's got to feel really good for those guys.

00:42:03

Yes.

00:42:03

And Trinidad Chambliss might be the best college quarterback.

00:42:06

Yep.

00:42:06

I don't know if he's going to be necessarily like the best NFL quarterback or talked about in those— like, is he going to be a top 10 overall pick? I think he might be though.

00:42:16

Yeah.

00:42:16

If he's not, depending on how tall he measures in at, I think he probably should be talked about as being the guy that you want. Like maybe I'm prisoner of the moment right now, but he's clearly a better quarterback than Arch Manning right now. And I don't think it's close.

00:42:29

He's 6'2. He's 24.

00:42:32

Yeah.

00:42:33

He is older. 6 feet. He's 6 feet, 6 feet, 6'1, but everyone's saying 6 feet. By the way, Arch Manning—

00:42:39

Drake Maye's 24.

00:42:42

Yeah. Trinidad's older than Drake Maye.

00:42:45

They're the same age. I don't know the birthdays, but—

00:42:48

I'm just saying right now, Trinidad Jackson—

00:42:51

That's going to be a problem.

00:42:52

Yeah, that is. He's right. He's right about that.

00:42:54

It will be, but he is the best college football quarterback right now.

00:42:56

Yeah. You know who else they said was too old to be a good rookie in the NFL?

00:43:00

Kenny Pickett. Tyler Shark.

00:43:02

Oh yeah. Yeah, that's true.

00:43:04

That's true.

00:43:04

Good point. Um, Ole Miss has the best resume right now through 3 weeks because they beat Louisville on a neutral site and then they beat LSU at home. They have like— there's— we're in that portion of the schedule where it's like, I think these teams are good, but they also haven't played anyone. I mentioned Miami, like Georgia. Georgia, we talked about it on Monday, but Georgia doing defensive line work in TV timeouts because Arkansas wasn't like doing enough to get them work.

00:43:32

Yeah.

00:43:34

So like Kirby just— I think he's got his shit back to him, Kirby. He's got, he's got a little edge to him this year. I, uh, I'm thinking about the other games that happened, the notable stuff. Kentucky was an awesome win for our guy Will Stein.

00:43:48

Yeah.

00:43:48

On the road, Texas A&M, top 10 team. They might have been a fraud top 10 team, uh, but still they were 17-point underdogs. They win outright. That was awesome. Like very excited for Kentucky fans.

00:43:59

Um, yeah, it was, it was great to see. Uh, and he was, he was pumped up after the game. Yeah, like, I don't know, Kentucky might be secretly good.

00:44:09

Oh yeah, I mean, they had— and played well against Alabama for a half.

00:44:13

And Marcel Reed might— can Messi give the jersey back?

00:44:15

Yeah, Marcel Reed's not very good.

00:44:18

That's looking back. It was, it was hilarious in the moment, but looking back, that jersey swap is going to be even funnier. Yeah, between him and, and Messi. But yeah, good for Good for Will Stein.

00:44:27

That's awesome. Did you guys see Arch Manning?

00:44:29

He said, we are the fucking storm, which is just a— it's bad. That's a pretty hard quote.

00:44:34

That's badass. Did you guys see that Arch Manning has basically— they ripped his personality out after the AI controversy. He did a press conference. He's a robot now. We're never going to get another quote out of Arch Manning.

00:44:45

That's—

00:44:45

I mean, he's never— he's learned his lesson as a man. He's like, I'm done ever showing you any personality.

00:44:50

Yeah, well, you guys have officially beat me down. I'm not going to pull my pants down and put my butt cheeks on a trainer anymore. Do any of that. funny, wacky Manning stuff. Ballsack. Ballsack. Was it ballsack?

00:45:00

I think it was ballsack.

00:45:01

Okay. Allegedly.

00:45:02

I think it was ballsack.

00:45:03

Yeah. I mean, this was going to happen eventually. The Mannings were going to get to him and be like, hey, you can't say this.

00:45:08

Yeah.

00:45:08

Like, if— just keep your mouth shut. People will forget about it. And then Allstate's going to pay you $60 million in about 10 years.

00:45:14

Yeah. But it's— we're now getting like this weekend. Make sure you're watching college football. We've got— we finally got like the weekend where it feels Like, there's some big, big games. USC, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, uh, Ole Miss, Florida. Like, there are some big— Texas A&M, or sorry, uh, Mississippi State, by the way. Kamario, he's awesome.

00:45:35

He's—

00:45:36

when they talk about like, uh, the ball jumping out of hand, out of your hand, watch him play football. That's what happens.

00:45:42

Is he, uh— I think he might be the 2nd best quarterback.

00:45:45

Yeah, he's playing incredible.

00:45:47

Like, he's, he's fun to watch.

00:45:48

When do they play?

00:45:50

Who?

00:45:51

Mississippi State, Ole Miss.

00:45:52

Oh, that's the end of season Egg Bowl. I, I do also, I will defend our guy Brandon. I do think that it sucks that the discourse now with today's college football is if a player's really good on a lesser than team, everyone immediately is like, can't wait to see him play on Ohio State next year.

00:46:10

It's the MLB.

00:46:11

Yeah, it sucks.

00:46:11

Can't wait for him to be a Yankee or a Dodger.

00:46:13

Yeah.

00:46:14

Yep.

00:46:14

It sucks.

00:46:15

It does. Maybe, maybe, maybe Mississippi State alumni will get together and just say, let's scrounge up every dollar that we have.

00:46:23

Bring back more cowbell.

00:46:24

And yeah, so do a cowbell drive.

00:46:26

Yeah.

00:46:26

So a limited edition Kamario cowbell. All proceeds go to keeping Kamario in Starkville next year.

00:46:33

Yeah.

00:46:34

You touched on it very briefly on Sunday, but I feel like it should get talked about more because it was— I feel like it kind of got swept under the rug. But the end of the NC State game.

00:46:43

Unbelievable.

00:46:44

Was one of like the most insane endings to a football game I've ever seen in my entire life.

00:46:49

So I assume a lot of people listening have seen it, but I'll just say it anyway. Uh, NC State was leading all game. They were up 31-28, I believe. And, uh, they got— Vandy was driving with like 2 minutes left. NC State got a pick at the goal line. So they have less than 2 minutes left. All they got to do is get a first down or run out the clock. They get to a situation where they're on the 2-yard line, there's 6 seconds left, they're up 3. The, the— all they have to do is take a safety and most likely win the game by punting, doing a safety punt. And like, you know, they're gonna have to do a lateral play, whatever. The NC State quarterback goes back in the end zone to take the safety, doesn't go down, and Vandy strips them, falls on the ball, wins the game with 1 second left, kicks the extra point, wins by 4. It was so mind-numbingly stupid.

00:47:42

I—

00:47:43

the, the play, like, getting a safety was the right play, but you just have to run out of bounds.

00:47:49

Not even that. Yes, you can just run out of bounds. You can also just fall. Yeah, you can hold. Everybody on the offensive line can intentionally grab their guy, tackle them in the end zone, and it's still going to be a safety. That is the play. We've seen it countless times. It's a, it's a smart move to take a safety there. Also cool thrown, Greg Schiano. Like, yeah, when it looks like it's time to take a knee, play to the Ian whistle.

00:48:15

Yeah.

00:48:15

Finally, finally Greg's master plan worked out.

00:48:18

Just go out of bounds and then punt it. Like do a safety punt. Even if it was 3 seconds left, they're not going to win the game that way.

00:48:25

He could have taken his helmet off. The quarterback could have ripped his own helmet off and thrown it into the crowd from the end zone. And that would have been the correct play in that situation.

00:48:33

Or just throw the ball from there. Yeah, like, why didn't he think about throwing it? Just throw it deep.

00:48:38

Throw it way up in the air.

00:48:40

Yeah, just run.

00:48:43

There's a moment where he goes back and then he runs forward.

00:48:45

I know the moment where you run forward, just go backwards, right?

00:48:49

How many—

00:48:49

it's the only— it's, it's so stupid. It's, it's— they're just kids.

00:48:53

How many—

00:48:54

they're just kids.

00:48:55

How many people watching that game changed the channel after the interception? It was like, well, this one's over.

00:49:00

Not me, because I knew NC State, they do dumb shit.

00:49:03

They're always capable of new innovative ways to break your heart.

00:49:07

I was watching this and, and I was watching it live because I had NC State, and I thought they were gonna do the dumb move of trying to punt, which that was on the table of them punting and then Vandy catching, doing a fair catch immediately in field goal range.

00:49:23

Yeah.

00:49:23

So when they lined up, I was like, oh, Oh, they are actually doing the smart thing. Guess, guess what? No, they actually did the dumber thing by not going down.

00:49:32

It was maybe the dumbest finish. I would say this is maybe second in recent, recent memory behind that. Was it Miami-Georgia Tech?

00:49:39

Yeah.

00:49:40

Where they just decided to run plays. Cristobal decided to run plays at the end of the game for absolutely no reason. Yeah.

00:49:46

Oh man.

00:49:47

So, so brutal. I also have— I want to read a couple headlines for you guys. You ready for this?

00:49:52

Mm-hmm.

00:49:52

So Oregon's had a tough start to the season. They are 1— they were 1-1 going into week 3. They lose to Oklahoma State. They struggle with Boise. They then get Portland State at home. Smash spot. Oregon wins 84 to nothing. Here are the headlines after 84 to nothing by Oregon. This is from The Wall Street Journal. Is it rude to win a football game 84 to nothing, or am I just soft? That's an actual headline.

00:50:21

That should have been a poll.

00:50:22

Yeah. And then the other one was Oregon's cringy blowout of Portland State, a different kind of embarrassing.

00:50:29

Shame on them.

00:50:30

Cringy blowout.

00:50:31

It's a safety issue.

00:50:32

So Daniel Lenny can't win.

00:50:34

Yeah.

00:50:35

Well, he loses. Yeah, they won, but they lost because it was a cringy blowout.

00:50:38

It was very cringy. Are you even happy as a Ducks fan? Are you hoping ultimately you'd rather lose that game?

00:50:44

Yeah, I do.

00:50:45

For sportsmanship.

00:50:46

Obviously, we, we have DraftKings as a sponsor.

00:50:49

I've—

00:50:50

no, no shocking news, but I love to gamble. But when this one guy was like— I was like, maybe, maybe we are talking too much about gambling because I saw this one tweet on my algorithm. Some guy was like, this game is rigged. Watch Oregon score a touchdown to ruin my teaser of under 85.5. I was like, dude. There's no way they're thinking about rigging Oregon-Portland State for teasers on totals.

00:51:17

Yeah.

00:51:18

In college football.

00:51:19

That's—

00:51:20

we might be gone too far at that point.

00:51:22

You might want to just like have some ego death.

00:51:24

Yeah.

00:51:25

Probably take a heavy dose of psilocybin. You know, just realize that the world is not about you.

00:51:29

Do you know how hard it would be to, to, to rig a game and but have to make sure you cover all teasers as well?

00:51:35

It's perfect crime.

00:51:36

Just be like, hey, not only are we going to rig this for the spread, but But remember, there's 7-point teasers, 10-point, 13-point. We gotta, we gotta cover all our bases.

00:51:43

I mean, I didn't want to get into it, but you kind of forced my hand. I— the, the PFTs with the Bucs and the Browns, why did they, why did they delay that football game? Oh, we never used to delay football games ever before.

00:51:55

It's true.

00:51:56

And now we're delaying them all the time. My theory is it's the government, because the more football games that they can delay because of weather, the easier they can sell us this climate change stuff and start taking carbon taxes and Oh, you— hey, you think that the weather doesn't impact you? Well, guess what, Oxford, Mississippi? We're going to have to delay a football game because there's a thunderstorm in the area. Bet you love Democrats now. Give us all your money. That's my theory for why my personal teaser lost.

00:52:20

I like that.

00:52:20

Yeah, it goes deeper than you think.

00:52:21

It goes way deeper. That's very deep.

00:52:24

Also, in the matchup of the Sweeneys, Dabo versus Bill Belichick, that was a tough loss for UNC.

00:52:34

Yeah.

00:52:35

Real tough.

00:52:35

Other—

00:52:36

that was also a weather delay.

00:52:37

Also weather delay. Yeah, exactly. Real tough. UNC, I don't know if they look good or it's just like this is the new normal with Clemson.

00:52:44

No, I think UNC is very similar to how they were at the back half of last year. They have a good defense.

00:52:51

Not at the end of the game.

00:52:53

Well, yeah, like they, they were selling out to try to stop the run and the guy should have gone down.

00:52:58

Yeah. Well, no, I mean, like the last I think it was the last 3 drives were basically the entire field.

00:53:03

Yeah. But I mean, there's a weather delay. The weather delay fucked them.

00:53:07

Yep. The government.

00:53:09

Yeah. That was a big win for Dabo, which is kind of a sad state of Clemson football that that's a big win. He needed that, but he needed that bad.

00:53:17

I would have loved to just have UNC in the mix later and have them like maybe they're going to be the ACC championship game.

00:53:24

Maybe there'll be a spoiler.

00:53:25

They could be.

00:53:26

You never know. Yeah, get ready for this slate though this weekend. It's gonna be sick. Also, Texas Tech-Houston was a great game. Texas Tech— those both those teams are good. I don't know, it's, I guess, good for the Big 12 because they didn't, they didn't, uh, take each other out. Like Houston beating Texas Tech, then Houston losing later. I think that's the hardest game Texas Tech's gonna have.

00:53:47

So— BYU.

00:53:48

Yeah, they have BYU. I think it's at home.

00:53:50

I can't remember.

00:53:51

They might actually not have BYU. They have a very easy schedule. I believe that is like— I think that was West Virginia. Rich Rod is back, by the way. That was a big win for them. Yeah, no, they don't have BYU. So that was, that was their—

00:54:06

okay.

00:54:06

And they have West Virginia at home. So that was their biggest game of the season that they, you know, passed that test. They should be able to not cruise, but they have an easy road ahead. Okay, breaking news. Bad breaking news, Hank. Sad breaking news. Jackson Dart most likely out for the year. That sucks.

00:54:30

I feel bad for Giants fans. Yeah, Giants fans got the old runaround because you had about 10 minutes last night where you were like, oh shit, season's over. This is the worst.

00:54:41

Yep.

00:54:41

Life is pain. And then you got the ray of sunshine when you had number one, the sideline reporters and the Adam Schefters of the world reporting might not be that bad. Yeah, might be back sooner rather than later. Then you had the lip-reading experts on the sidelines looking at the trainer and saying this might be him saying 4 to 6 weeks. And then today they kind of have to go back on that.

00:55:02

So should be illegal. What— how the course of— you should never have this happen. It should always be the worst and then you get better.

00:55:09

Yeah. So yeah, the worst, better. That's the way to do it.

00:55:11

Yep.

00:55:12

I would agree with that. Now you should be allowed to sue Adam Schefter. disaster is what I'm getting at.

00:55:16

Yes.

00:55:16

Emotional distress if you're a Giants fan. That's a bunch of bullshit. Um, so feel bad for Giants fans. Jaxon Dart, like, even as a— I'm gonna do the as a Commanders fan for them, but they were such a fun team to watch. Like, I like, I like watching him play football. It sucks. I hate that he's in the division. Um, but I like watching him play. And, and the, the turnaround had a lot of promise. One week you look great, and then all of a sudden Things get taken away.

00:55:43

It's brutal. The Giants have not had a quarterback start every game in a season since 2018 with Eli. That's insane.

00:55:51

Yeah.

00:55:53

I, all the, all the good vibes, everything that was coming after week 1 and it's just ripped away. That it fucking sucks.

00:56:01

Yeah.

00:56:02

Was that the 2015 draft? Jameis, Mariota, 1-2.

00:56:06

Yeah.

00:56:07

Back. Yeah.

00:56:08

Yeah. Both back in the NFC East.

00:56:10

2015 all over again.

00:56:12

Yeah. Brutal. So feel bad for Giants fans.

00:56:14

I hope it's not an ACL. I hope it's just like, I don't know. We're not, again, we're not doctors. So the fact that his foot didn't look planted gave you reason for hope. But I guess there's other ways that things can tear. I don't know. We don't know what it is yet. I don't think that they even know the extent of everything. If they do, they're not going to tell anyone.

00:56:32

No. Can I have a little point that was actually pointed out by Our good friend Tom Fornelli just now, he texted me, uh, can you pull up, uh— and, and we love, we love Schrager, uh, his new show. You can go watch it. Ian Rapoport, you can't be reporting news looking like you're—

00:56:51

Schrager.

00:56:52

16-year-old in high school. Pull up the— there it is. Watch this. Play the clip. You can't report season-ending news in a t-shirt and a leather jacket.

00:57:04

T-shirt with a duck on it.

00:57:05

Yeah, yeah, that can't happen.

00:57:06

Make that jacket— make, make the screen bigger.

00:57:08

We can't play this clip.

00:57:09

Yeah, but that can't happen.

00:57:10

Do you agree?

00:57:11

That cannot happen. You gotta put on something.

00:57:15

The viewer and the listener is going to be very confused.

00:57:17

We cannot show it.

00:57:17

Well, I'll tweet it. I'll tweet the clip.

00:57:18

Because we're gonna get one of these like, oh, all the producers suck at their job, why can't they put this clip in?

00:57:23

We can't put this clip in.

00:57:24

Inrapport looks like he was out back smoking a cigarette when he got the news. He was like about to hop on his hog and ride away.

00:57:30

with his old lady.

00:57:32

And then he got a text. He's like, I better go back on the TV and report this. Now I'm back on to my Sons of Anarchy.

00:57:38

That's crazy. You got to have— you got it. Season-ending injuries need to be reported with a suit and tie.

00:57:46

I mean, it looks like he's like chilling at a ski lodge.

00:57:49

Yeah. Listen, there's got to be decorum in this world.

00:57:52

Ideally, you'd like for it to be like somebody coming to your door and knocking on it, like, and taking their hat off.

00:57:57

Yeah.

00:57:58

Delivering it to every fan personally. Like, sit down on your couch. Mm-hmm.

00:58:02

The Marines show up and they're like, hey, there's a car. Jackson Dart.

00:58:05

Either you're in your farmhouse and there's a car that you see coming down the road about like a quarter mile away with all the dust kicking up. And then you just go out to the front porch, you open up the door, you see Adam Schefter step out of the car and you just faint into your rocking chair.

00:58:18

And he says, Jackson Dart's out for the year. And you say, why do I care? I live in Nebraska.

00:58:23

Yeah.

00:58:23

Yeah. Like, why are you here?

00:58:25

Who are you?

00:58:25

Yeah, I'm gonna shoot you. Um, get off my property.

00:58:29

Also, other injury news, obviously nowhere near the Jaxson Dart. We do feel bad for Giants fans. Like, that just sucks. Your, your season felt like it was going— everything was going in the right direction, and then to have Jaxson Dart, uh, miss the entire year, it's just—

00:58:43

it's brutal.

00:58:44

It's absolutely brutal. And it feels like they're gonna just go back to what they've been doing, which is being like A 4 to 6 win team with a couple frisky games mixed in.

00:58:55

Who knows?

00:58:56

Like, that's a— that just sucks.

00:58:58

Who knows?

00:58:59

Max, do you want to say something as an Eagles fan? You feel bad?

00:59:04

No, I don't feel bad.

00:59:05

Oh, we're getting—

00:59:06

we're going to get more Jameis.

00:59:08

That was so easy to just say you feel bad.

00:59:09

You feel bad for Giants fans.

00:59:11

I feel bad. I feel bad for Jackson Dart that he's injured.

00:59:14

Do you feel bad for Giants fans?

00:59:16

Okay.

00:59:16

Is there any Giant fan—

00:59:17

I don't like to see the play like that. That hurts his, you know, his future is, you know, it's sad for Jaxon Dart, not sad for Giants fans.

00:59:26

I'm sad for Giants fans.

00:59:27

Lie.

00:59:28

That's what you're just lying.

00:59:29

Okay.

00:59:30

I'm sad for Jaxon Dart.

00:59:32

Me too.

00:59:32

I'm sad for the other players on that team, not the fans.

00:59:35

So you're sad for the team?

00:59:36

Yeah.

00:59:37

For the players on the team?

00:59:38

Correct.

00:59:38

But no sympathy whatever for the fans after all they've been through?

00:59:43

They've won 2 Super Bowls.

00:59:44

That is a valid point.

00:59:46

Yeah, good point.

00:59:47

I don't feel sad. I did feel sad for you, actually, when Jayden Daniels got hurt.

00:59:52

I'm pretty much a player on the team.

00:59:53

That's why.

00:59:54

Yeah, he's part of—

00:59:54

all right, maybe part of the organization.

00:59:56

Max, other injury news. Are you ready for Case Keenum? Because you're about to get him, buddy.

01:00:02

Yeah.

01:00:02

So Tyson Bagent in concussion protocol. Case Keenum Yeah, there's one notable game that Case Keenum played the Eagles and it didn't go very well. And he was a little bit younger. Not a lot younger, I would say. But yeah, we're going to go Case Keenum on Monday night. What a fun, fun event.

01:00:21

Ben Johnson though. Ben Johnson.

01:00:23

That's the Michael Penix. We got Michael Penix and then we also got Case Keenum.

01:00:27

Yeah, right.

01:00:28

This is a surprise concussion because I don't think anybody knew that he was hurt, right?

01:00:31

He got hit really hard on that last play.

01:00:33

Okay.

01:00:33

So I think that's what it was from.

01:00:35

Okay.

01:00:35

The last sack. If you want to pull it up, I believe was what it was. But yeah, Case Keenum. I had a few people be like, this is how I found out Case Keenum was still in the league. Case Keenum actually, I think, is neighbors with Caleb and good friends. Yeah, this is the play. He got slammed.

01:00:52

Yeah.

01:00:53

Slammed to the turf.

01:00:54

I'm going to try to do one of those analogies about like what to expect with Case Keenum. I think Case Keenum is the Andy Dalton of Cooper Rushes.

01:01:04

Okay, wait, hold on. No, Andy Dalton.

01:01:08

Andy Dalton is better than Case Keenum.

01:01:09

No, no, that's not what he's saying. That's not what he's saying.

01:01:12

He's the Andy Dalton of Cooper Rushes.

01:01:14

Oh, I, I think he's— yeah, I think he's— I think he's better than that.

01:01:19

What would you put him at?

01:01:20

I think he's like, uh, he's one of the great career— he's one of the best Cooper Rushes because Case Keenum was— did have a like a legitimate good year. He had a couple years in, in, uh, in Minnesota and then a decent year in Denver. I want to say maybe I made that up.

01:01:37

38.

01:01:38

He was our starter going into a season one year.

01:01:40

Yeah. So I think he's better. He's, he's, he might be the Patrick Mahomes of Cooper Rushes. Do you think the best of Cooper Rushes? No, no. Cooper Rushes are bad.

01:01:50

Right, right. The Patrick Mahomes of Cooper Rushes might be Drew Lock.

01:01:54

But Drew Lock was also a starter.

01:01:57

He slings it like Drew Lock was—

01:02:00

I don't know, because Case Keenum was kind of like drafted as like a backup, kind of.

01:02:06

Kyle Orton might be the Patrick Mahomes of Cooper Rushes.

01:02:09

Yeah, but there's—

01:02:11

yeah, this is—

01:02:11

I think Nick Foles would be the Patrick Mahomes of Cooper Rushes. True.

01:02:14

Yeah.

01:02:14

Yeah.

01:02:14

True.

01:02:15

Okay.

01:02:15

And also he's not, by the way, he's not immortal. Case Keenum.

01:02:19

Tom Brady or Patrick?

01:02:20

Case Keenum's—

01:02:21

I think Tom Brady is the Nick Foles of Cooper Rushes. Cooper Rushes, of true bledsos.

01:02:29

Case Keenum's good.

01:02:30

I think that might actually make a lot of sense if you think about it.

01:02:33

Yeah.

01:02:33

Case Keenum's good year in the NFL was 9 years ago. So it's no longer— he might be, he might be the Jack Strand of Cooper Rushes at this point, which is also like an improvement.

01:02:45

Maybe, maybe, or maybe the Philip River of that.

01:02:48

That would be good though.

01:02:49

The Philip Rivers of Cooper Rushes.

01:02:51

Yeah.

01:02:51

Yeah. Because yeah, journeyman and old.

01:02:54

Yeah.

01:02:54

I don't think Max is getting what you guys— It's okay.

01:02:57

I think I'm kind of getting that.

01:02:58

Max, kind of.

01:02:59

We're trying to get—

01:02:59

At this point, I'm saying yeah and nodding.

01:03:01

Yeah, we're there.

01:03:02

No, come on. You can be nice.

01:03:04

You're being nice.

01:03:05

I'd be nice.

01:03:06

Yeah.

01:03:06

I'm feeling weird.

01:03:07

Good point, Max.

01:03:07

We're going to stream this game, Max. Okay. We'll stream it.

01:03:13

Yeah.

01:03:13

Case Keenum in week 3 is— that's— you never want to be Case Keenum. You never want to hit the Case Keenum button in week 3.

01:03:19

It's a little early in the day to be drinking all that Case Keenum. Way too.

01:03:22

Wait, yeah, you need to— the doctor needs to prescribe you casein. Yeah, you can't, you can't just be getting casein off the shelf.

01:03:30

Let's wait till we get off work before we start casing.

01:03:32

Yeah.

01:03:32

Okay.

01:03:33

Also, Caleb Williams, Caleb Williams, 2 to 4. We talked, we talked about that. We did. Yeah, we didn't—

01:03:38

2 to 4. Yeah, we— so we're actually taping this like 3 hours after we, we talked about everything. So it's verified 2 to 4. That's the time frame generally that I still feel like we don't have a real answer.

01:03:50

We don't.

01:03:51

That's from Rapid Report.

01:03:52

Certainly seems like Caleb Williams is unlikely to start this week and next week. We will see 2 to 4 weeks generally diagnosis for these kind of hamstring injuries.

01:03:59

Yeah, not really.

01:04:00

Which are pretty severe hamstring injuries.

01:04:01

Not really.

01:04:02

2 to 4 weeks.

01:04:02

Super severe.

01:04:05

I mean, 2 to 4 weeks is what's the cicada's life is what, 3 weeks?

01:04:12

Yeah. And when you think about a fruit fly, this is Probably like thousands of fruit fly lives.

01:04:18

So Caleb Williams got the death sentence for cicadas.

01:04:20

I'd say for at least like 10,000 fruit flies.

01:04:24

Yeah.

01:04:25

And just put into perspective civilization of flies.

01:04:27

Next time you make a joke, just stop yourself and say, what if, what if Caleb Williams is a fruit fly?

01:04:32

It'd be tough.

01:04:33

And then be like, wait, why did I ask myself that? What did these fucking guys say? And then you go on with your day. All right, let's do Hot Seat, Cool Throne. This episode is brought to you by Body Armor Flash IV. Flash IV is packed with electrolytes, delivering faster, longer-lasting hydration without any artificial dyes, flavors, or sweeteners. All right, Hank.

01:05:02

My hot seat is AI videos, believing AI videos.

01:05:08

And you've believed in a couple recently.

01:05:09

Yeah, we already doxxed my age, so I think it might just be an age thing. Old, old eyes. But yeah, there was the video of Jayden Daniels' teammates running away even though Marcus Mariota stayed. People are saying like, if—

01:05:21

I'm glad we're—

01:05:21

Some people are like, if it was halftime, wouldn't that mean they had time to watch to make sure he was good?

01:05:26

No, it means they're all leaving the field at that time at halftime.

01:05:29

But it's like, all right, we were— it's a break. Let's just make sure our quarterback, our franchise quarterback, our captain is able to—

01:05:36

Halftime is free time.

01:05:37

Got it.

01:05:37

You can do whatever you want.

01:05:38

Right.

01:05:38

So they—

01:05:38

if you want to stay on the bench, you can do whatever you want. Yeah.

01:05:40

Right.

01:05:41

So they could have stayed.

01:05:42

Most coaches give you that option. Like, if you'd like to sit on the bench by yourself Read a book. That's cool.

01:05:47

But they were like, we don't—

01:05:48

if you—

01:05:48

so if you want to stay and watch your quarterback, that's cool. But they were like, nah, let's go to the locker room and like eat an orange.

01:05:56

Yeah, that's what they do. Yeah. Dan Quinn passes out tangerines, actually.

01:05:59

Uh-huh.

01:06:00

You're being very ugly.

01:06:01

And the barrel drinks.

01:06:02

You've been very ugly.

01:06:02

But regardless, that was not my point. That was not my point. Right. There was another—

01:06:07

You are— this is a misstep because I— the thing I am not concerned about at all is that his teammates like him. I, me too.

01:06:14

I trust—

01:06:14

I like—

01:06:14

and also, remember, he said he's gonna, he's gonna spend all his time trolling you.

01:06:17

You are my guiding light in this situation. And then, well, I've thought about that more, Big Cat.

01:06:22

I don't think, you know, as a 41-year-old man, that's not— I don't have time to be— I don't have time to waste trolling a 33-year-old man. Boy.

01:06:30

Yeah.

01:06:31

But there was another video circulating today of LeBron James in like a preseason workout just bricking shot after shot after shot after shot.

01:06:42

AI?

01:06:43

I think so. You guys, you guys watching and you tell me. Yeah, you say.

01:06:47

You be the judge.

01:06:48

I genuinely like— that's where like I'm a little, you know, skeptical.

01:06:51

Max, can you bring it up? I noticed you didn't look this one up.

01:06:54

You have Miami Georgia Tech.

01:06:56

Well, we were talking about Miami Georgia Tech. Yeah, we were.

01:07:01

Are you gonna—

01:07:02

I sent it if Max can't You know, lock in and find it.

01:07:06

Also, did you send it?

01:07:07

I've got a text to the group.

01:07:08

I've got a Browns fan.

01:07:09

We can just type in LeBron Brick.

01:07:11

Oh yeah, I saw that guy.

01:07:13

Wait, which one?

01:07:14

Did you—

01:07:14

the guy who tweeted us or no?

01:07:16

No, a different guy. Okay, different guy. I think his name is like Number One Cleveland Browns Fan. Okay, which is a great— oh, okay, let's see what he's doing here. Brick, that's a tough shot running.

01:07:28

This is sad.

01:07:29

What are you guys doing?

01:07:30

No, I'm not doing it.

01:07:32

Sad.

01:07:33

That's from Half Court. A little heat check there.

01:07:35

That actually makes it— you're terrified if you're looking up LeBron practice videos for—

01:07:40

I'm not looking these up. These are flooding my timeline.

01:07:43

Flooding.

01:07:44

He's had a double flood. If you've been paying attention, like, that's hard to have.

01:07:47

It's hurricane season.

01:07:49

It's, it's great. Hank has recently been stricken with inability to tell what's AI and what's not. So he's just asking us for help because you used to be really sure.

01:07:59

Like, did you see the video of Trump and Vladimir Putin rapping together? That was— that wasn't real.

01:08:03

Oh, really?

01:08:04

Yeah.

01:08:04

But these videos, you're like, they might be real.

01:08:07

This one looks so real, but it's LeBron. So it's like, there's no way he's throwing up this many bricks against absolute nobodies.

01:08:13

Yeah, sure.

01:08:15

No, right?

01:08:17

Yep.

01:08:17

It is kind of crazy.

01:08:19

Oh, he threw the ball out of bounds. This looks like our Friday afternoon pickup games.

01:08:23

Does look like, you know, he Definitely sucks. Father Time is undefeated.

01:08:27

Yeah, for sure. It's coming right now.

01:08:29

For who?

01:08:30

It's come for LeBron. Yeah. I mean, we're talking about high school gym practice videos. Yeah, that's a, that's a telltale sign.

01:08:38

First thing you—

01:08:39

he stinks.

01:08:40

First thing that you lose is your—

01:08:42

we may as well, we may as well just cancel the season. You're telling me that we have practice videos at a high school?

01:08:47

It might not be real.

01:08:48

Oh yeah, we're watching full tape right now.

01:08:51

I like that. Oh yeah.

01:08:53

Yeah. You don't watch tape.

01:08:54

Oh yeah.

01:08:54

Cancel the season.

01:08:54

LeBron's done. Celtics champions, I guess. Paul George, he's young, right?

01:09:03

Yeah, he's got a great hairline. Uh, Jaylen Brown fencing, those, those are cool clips. He's in France like practicing fencing.

01:09:12

Is he really?

01:09:12

Yeah.

01:09:12

That's not your guy anymore.

01:09:14

He's sword fighting.

01:09:14

I know, I miss him though. I miss him. It's cool.

01:09:17

Why is he practicing fencing?

01:09:18

Because he's Jaylen Brown. He's a, he's an eclectic guy.

01:09:20

Should be practicing defense.

01:09:23

Uh, and then my cool throw is flatulence. Uh, national sports show, national sports pod.

01:09:33

But you are the fart guy.

01:09:33

On, on national sports television today, I saw a segment. I woke up, turned on my TV, was watching Fox Sports 1, and saw Saints quarterback Tyler Shuck talking about how my fart in the offseason What did he say? Sent waves?

01:09:49

Shockwaves.

01:09:51

He sent shockwaves through the locker room.

01:09:52

Was he talking about the Saints locker room or the Pelicans locker room? Because they— I don't understand why this is—

01:09:58

I was wearing that.

01:10:00

I said that on the show. I was like, well, it was close to the Pelicans facility.

01:10:05

I said that because I was explaining why I was wearing that dumbass hat.

01:10:09

Yeah, it was because your initial—

01:10:11

the Pelicans—

01:10:12

Your initial explanation for why you farted was Because they share a team facility. They do.

01:10:18

And that's why I was wearing the hat. And that's why the clip was embarrassing. Not because of the, the, the, the, like, the fart echo chair, but because I was wearing the hat.

01:10:27

The echo chair.

01:10:28

Because the facility was connected to the Saints facility. But yeah, but either way, like, you know, it could have been considered a bad moment. I never thought about it that way. And it's clearly inspiring our guy Shuck.

01:10:40

No, I don't think he said the word inspiration. Definitely didn't say inspiration.

01:10:47

He may have.

01:10:48

No, I think he, I think he might have said the first half has been— the first half of the first game was bad because of Hank's fart.

01:10:54

I don't think he said that.

01:10:55

I'm pro the fart being the difference maker for Shuck.

01:10:59

Also, Shuck did say Kellen Moore gave out more game balls in meetings on Monday when they watched the tape.

01:11:06

Okay. Love that. So more than 6 total.

01:11:08

Yeah.

01:11:08

Did he say how many?

01:11:09

He said the big guy's got a bunch.

01:11:10

Every offensive lineman. Yeah.

01:11:12

So I was happy because that was my first question. I was like, dude, what happened? Only 6 game balls? Like, no, he went back for more.

01:11:18

We got to get those numbers up.

01:11:19

My first question was about Hank's fart.

01:11:21

Yeah.

01:11:21

Good. Good.

01:11:22

Good question. Yeah. Really good question. Okay.

01:11:25

PFT.

01:11:26

You said government name too. That was crazy. What?

01:11:29

Henry Lockwood.

01:11:30

Well, yeah. You're a journalist.

01:11:31

33-year-old.

01:11:33

Yeah.

01:11:33

Chill.

01:11:34

181.

01:11:35

Wait, what did you— What would you like him to call you if he's listening?

01:11:39

Well, I don't call him Christopher. I wouldn't have said, hey, Christopher.

01:11:43

But then he followed up. I also noticed he followed up with Hank.

01:11:46

Right.

01:11:47

Which was good.

01:11:48

Yeah. That means he was, he was very aware of your prowess in that.

01:11:51

Yeah. He respects, he respects HIPAA.

01:11:55

Okay. So just for future reference, I'm never to refer to you as Henry again.

01:11:59

You can. But again, like, I'm not going to call you the E word.

01:12:02

Thank you.

01:12:03

I could, but out of respect for HIPAA, I don't.

01:12:07

Okay.

01:12:08

Jerry's the only one who's got the e-pass.

01:12:09

Yeah.

01:12:10

Yeah.

01:12:10

Dan Campbell.

01:12:10

Dan Campbell too.

01:12:11

Campbell.

01:12:14

My hot seat is Mike McCarthy, head coach of the Steelers.

01:12:17

Okay.

01:12:17

A lot of people are saying the Steelers offense looks a lot like it did last year and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that.

01:12:25

We're people. We're part of that.

01:12:27

Yeah, we have said that.

01:12:28

Yeah.

01:12:28

So yeah, when I say that a lot of people, I do include this room because it does, if we're being honest.

01:12:33

100%.

01:12:34

But Mike McCarthy is not on the hot seat for that. It's because it feels like Aaron Rodgers is exercising almost too much accountability for himself. And I think he has to get his quarterback in line and be like, hey, man, you can't take everything.

01:12:48

Yep.

01:12:48

All the blame on your shoulders. You need to spread that around a little bit. We're a team here. So Aaron Rodgers, after the game, he said the best teams are player-led teams. We have to keep taking ownership. In a game like today, there wasn't a lot of flow to it. We need to be better, and it starts with me. That's really mature by Aaron Rodgers.

01:13:06

That's really, really mature.

01:13:07

He says it starts with me at making sure Mike McCarthy knows what's working, what's not working, and that our coaches know so we can all feel like we have a better chance. So this is a great job by Aaron Rodgers taking full responsibility that he needs to do a better job of educating his coaches of what plays they're calling and which ones suck.

01:13:27

Yes, that's good accountability.

01:13:29

It's really good accountability.

01:13:30

Really good accountability.

01:13:31

And I think there's a big step forward for the team. I'm looking for the Steelers to bounce back this week.

01:13:34

What a leader.

01:13:35

Big leader.

01:13:36

Yeah.

01:13:37

My cool throne is going to be James Madison. And it's not because necessarily we have a 19% chance of making the college football playoff again this year.

01:13:44

Oh, hell yeah.

01:13:45

It's more the fact that I thought looking at the rest of our schedule, what that's going to have to mean for me for the rest of the season. Which is going to be a lot of talk about how easy our schedule is. And I would never attack a team for playing an easy schedule. Like, if you get your wins, that's— you deserve every advantage that you have in the playoffs.

01:14:05

And if someone were to find you attacking an easy schedule, you could simply just say, well, that was old me.

01:14:11

If— yeah, yeah, that's all. I'm 41 now and I'm moving on and evolved. And it sounds like you're part of the Barstoolification of the universe.

01:14:16

Yeah, I'd agree with you.

01:14:17

Yeah.

01:14:17

Yeah, you can't be held accountable for things in the past, right? So that's crazy.

01:14:22

That's crazy.

01:14:22

Live with me here now.

01:14:24

Yeah, I'm, I'm currently not committing any crimes, so I don't know what your problem is.

01:14:28

Also Virginia Tech's fault.

01:14:29

Also Virginia Tech's fault. Virginia Tech's fault. And Jamie, so I, I looked at the numbers.

01:14:34

Wait, no, Virginia Tech's—

01:14:35

because they canceled the game.

01:14:36

Cancel the game, you don't play them.

01:14:37

Yeah, you were supposed to play Virginia Tech, but Virginia Tech canceled.

01:14:40

I'm aware this, this happened against multiple, yeah, uh, power conference members where they just cancel games against JMU, so we can't play a hard schedule anymore. But the stat is we're 23-0 against the state of Virginia since 2015, and we got another one coming up this weekend against ODU. But I thought more about what that's going to look like at the end of the season. It would be great to make the playoff again, like twice in a row, as a little bitty school that used to be FCS. But then what would that look like? It's like every year we make the college football playoff and we get our asses kicked. And that doesn't seem like a great, like, and what, what, Max?

01:15:15

I feel like that seems like the best case scenario for you right now.

01:15:18

I know.

01:15:18

That's what I'm saying. That's a very weird best case scenario to be in is to make the college football playoff, go up against like the 3rd best team in the country and then hopefully cover a 21-point spread. And that's kind of, that's a weird place to have that be the ultimate goal for your season. But anyways, you play who's in front of you. I'm just, I'm excited that JMU is back in the conversation. a little bit trepidatious of what that's going to mean.

01:15:41

Hell yes.

01:15:42

Yeah.

01:15:42

Hell yes. All right. My hot seats. I don't really have a hot seat. I have a cool throne. Ah, we've talked about everything. My hot seat is anyone who made fun of Caleb. I'll just say that.

01:15:57

All right.

01:15:57

My cool throne is Deshaun Watson. Because Todd Monken said that he's a young player that is going to continue to grow.

01:16:04

grow.

01:16:05

Yeah, 31 years old. Yeah, he's older than Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and the Ravens offensive coordinator. He's a young player that's continued to grow.

01:16:15

I'm a little concerned about what parts of him are going to continue to grow.

01:16:18

Young player continue to grow.

01:16:20

That's, um, yeah, it's— sometimes coaches just get up in front of the media and they're verbally just hitting the fast-forward button to get them out from doing more media. Yeah, it's like, let's just get to the end of this practice. I'm gonna say words that I've heard other coaches say before, and hopefully you won't follow up, and then I can go back to doing my job.

01:16:36

Yes.

01:16:37

Yes. Young Deshaun Watson.

01:16:40

Ideally, young Deshaun Watson was a great player.

01:16:43

31-year-old. Does that make Hank old at 33?

01:16:46

Yeah. For a quarterback.

01:16:47

Yes.

01:16:48

Yeah.

01:16:48

Unless you're Tom Brady.

01:16:50

Yeah.

01:16:50

Or Trindade Chambers.

01:16:51

That makes you young.

01:16:52

Or Aaron Rodgers.

01:16:53

Yeah.

01:16:53

He's taking accountability. All right. Hot seat. Cool Throne Zach.

01:16:59

My hot seat this week is gonna be miracle drugs, because we may be at the end of the line when it comes to GLP-1s, boys. You saw lawsuits that came out this morning?

01:17:06

No.

01:17:08

All GLP-1s are apparently making people blind.

01:17:10

Ooh.

01:17:11

Are you guys familiar with—

01:17:12

but are they still skinny?

01:17:14

I don't want it. 99— 999 of them out of 10,000, maybe, but also blind.

01:17:20

But if fat and can see, blind and skinny.

01:17:22

So skinny you maybe can't see yourself skinny though.

01:17:25

So, so fast, then you can't find the food.

01:17:28

My eyes are working pretty well. I haven't taken them as—

01:17:30

yeah, like you took them like once a year.

01:17:33

Once I gotta get— I gotta get— I gotta get back.

01:17:35

Oh, you haven't been taking them?

01:17:37

I've taken them.

01:17:38

What's the most consistent you ever were with taking them?

01:17:41

Wedding season?

01:17:41

No, before the wedding, I was taking them pretty consistently.

01:17:43

Is it something— usually drugs, aren't you supposed to— like when you get sick and they give you antibiotics, you're supposed to take them every day until you're better?

01:17:51

Well, it's supposed to be once a week.

01:17:53

And so you just sort of like, you know what, a couple weeks Like every drug, I'm just gonna— I'm gonna do it whenever I want?

01:17:58

No, it's like, okay, sometimes you forget you're taking recreational GLP-1. No, no, no, I gotta get back. I gotta get back into smoking it when you feel like it.

01:18:08

Okay.

01:18:08

No, I gotta get back.

01:18:09

But you can see?

01:18:10

Yeah, eyes are good. Eyes are good.

01:18:12

How many people are blind?

01:18:13

So they're saying right now, uh, 1 in 10,000 probably get it.

01:18:17

And it's, uh—

01:18:17

I think those odds are fine if you're trying to get skinny.

01:18:20

Is it permanent?

01:18:21

They said, yeah, so it's, uh, not, not permanent. Definitely permanent. It's anteritic—

01:18:28

Wait, what?

01:18:28

Anterior. So it is permanent blindness. Like, it leads to like— it's not like, oh, I couldn't see for like 2 days, but now I'm back. They call it anteritic ischemetic optic neuropathy.

01:18:38

Okay.

01:18:39

And it leads to rapid and permanent vision loss. So we thought we were in a good spot, but back to square one.

01:18:47

I thought that this time the miracle drug that made everybody lose weight and get skinny was going to come with no side effects.

01:18:52

Yeah, they made it seem hot. Like, we got all the commercials, we got great guys on, you know, Shaq and everybody making it seem like a good idea.

01:18:59

But yeah, Shaq wouldn't put his name behind an inferior product.

01:19:02

What's the number? What's—

01:19:03

if I, if I said to you that Max is upset, I feel like 1 in 10,000.

01:19:09

Every single drug has some sort of side effect.

01:19:12

That was Hank doing his Max impression. Yeah, that's pretty good.

01:19:14

No, that was, that was, that was honestly fair.

01:19:16

What, what would the number be for you to not do so? Like if I told you there's a miracle drug that gives you endless energy, makes you look hot, but 100 out of, or maybe 1,000 out of 10,000, you die. I need to take that.

01:19:34

I need to go one, one out of 1,000 out of 10,000 would be one.

01:19:38

That's one out of 10.

01:19:39

No, it's not. Oh, yes.

01:19:41

Yes, it is. Sorry, I didn't know you needed me to reduce the fraction.

01:19:45

Everyone, you're always supposed to reduce the fraction.

01:19:47

Okay. Sorry, I didn't reduce the fraction. 1 out of 10. 10 out of 100.

01:19:52

1 out of 10 is too many.

01:19:53

Too many.

01:19:54

What about 10 out of 100? That actually sounds better.

01:19:56

That's also 1 out of 10.

01:19:58

All right. What about 3 out of 100?

01:20:02

1 out of 1 out of 100. is where you start to have the conversation. 1%.

01:20:09

Yeah, 1%. 1%.

01:20:10

That ain't us.

01:20:11

We're fine.

01:20:12

That's what I'm saying. I'm, I'm still considering it 1 out of 100, 1 out of 10,000.

01:20:17

Easy.

01:20:18

Yeah. I mean, it would be a real shame if I got it.

01:20:20

It is funny, though, to think about like how our brain works. Like, what's the number if they're like, hey, this thing will, will fix everything, but all the 1 out of 1 out of every 20 people die, are you— you're like, hmm, am I— am I good? Yeah, 19, or am I 1?

01:20:38

Ultimately, this— I think it does a lot of good. Like, a lot of people losing weight that really need to lose weight. Probably— it's probably extending a lot of lives out there.

01:20:47

Definitely, certainly. But like, blindness?

01:20:50

Blindness is— that's a tough side effect.

01:20:51

What do you got?

01:20:52

1 out of 10,000.

01:20:54

I might be down to go blind if I was born blind, but I think becoming blind has to be way worse because, you know, you're missing—

01:20:59

You're also 1-1 paranoia guy.

01:21:01

That's true.

01:21:02

Zach, I disagree with that, though. I know what you're saying, but I think if you have some frame of reference to how the world works and then you go blind, yeah, you know what you're missing, but at least you understand, like, conceptually what things are.

01:21:12

Oh, that's fair. That makes a lot of sense, actually.

01:21:14

Okay. I think that this is a worse headline than if it was like 1 out of 10,000 people die.

01:21:20

Definitely. Okay.

01:21:21

Yep.

01:21:21

Like, just in terms of like shock headlines, if it says 1 out of 10,000 people go permanently blind for the rest of your life, people are like, oh shit, Like, that shocks you a little bit.

01:21:30

They said they were flooding the zone with lawsuits today, so I wasn't sure.

01:21:34

Also, not to be like super woke, but I assume all of these headlines are just the drug companies fighting against the food industry. And they're just playing it out online.

01:21:46

And sometimes—

01:21:47

so then we'll get another one in a couple weeks. It's like there are no side effects for GLP-1s and they're actually a miracle drug. And then the food industry will come back and say, actually, you diarrhea out of your asshole and die. And then we just have to decipher which one— like, the people— that's just all this stuff is.

01:22:05

Yeah, that's just true.

01:22:06

They might have just got me with the blindness.

01:22:08

Big company, the big, big food and big drug having a nice old dust-up in the streets of the internet. And we just— we're the ones to suffer from all of it.

01:22:18

And then meeting behind the scenes with a negotiator being like, guys, if we can come to an understanding, everybody can eat. Yeah, there's, there's room to go around. We just got to compromise. You need to— it's like a mob meeting. Yeah, sit down behind the scenes. Like, you need to go 10% softer on the accusations of blindness. And you need to pull aside like some of your most potent drugs that are making people not eat Cheetos.

01:22:39

Yeah, lobbyists is going to get involved. And we're going to nerf the GLP-1s. And then the GLP-1— the drug companies are going to get Like stock options in big food.

01:22:49

Yeah, sir, for your service.

01:22:51

And the losers will be us again.

01:22:53

A lifetime supply of Twinkies, sir, for your dedication to public health.

01:22:56

Oh, so it's like keep America fat, but you guys can get a piece.

01:22:59

Yeah, right, exactly. That's how all this works.

01:23:03

Then my cool thing this week's gonna be Activision, because we're finally hammering down on guys virtually cheating. Recently it came out that cheating in video games is an $8.5 billion industry annually. And we're finally taking a stand.

01:23:15

Okay, how?

01:23:16

Uh, alright, so they shut down like—

01:23:17

Did you sign a pledge?

01:23:18

365 major cheating operations.

01:23:21

Okay.

01:23:22

Sent out roughly 80 cease and desists. They're hammering down on the cheaters. It's actually bigger than you think.

01:23:28

Yeah, it's bigger than you think?

01:23:30

Yeah, 'cause the Ricochet anti-cheat from Activision, historically dogshit. But now they're just arresting guys. Like, alright, if you don't wanna play by the virtual terms, take these IRL cuffs.

01:23:39

Wait, are you serious?

01:23:40

Yeah.

01:23:40

I'm, I'm kind of okay with that.

01:23:42

Me too. Send them to the brink.

01:23:44

The gulag.

01:23:45

Yes, gone. Not coming back. Don't respawn.

01:23:47

Wait, how are people actually getting arrested?

01:23:49

Because like it is illegal to sell these, uh, like these cheating subscriptions and these like wallhacks and aimbots and the forever greens and stuff.

01:23:56

Is it illegal to buy them?

01:23:58

Hmm.

01:23:58

Uh, I don't know the answer to that. I would want to say morally yes, on paper probably But also, they just—

01:24:06

couldn't they just go to like a country where it's not illegal to sell these and then just sell them? You're just—

01:24:12

nothing's gonna change.

01:24:13

You're describing the war on drugs right now.

01:24:15

That is, you can— they probably won't extradite. Yeah. So you probably could go to a different country. I can only speak on domestic soil, what's going down.

01:24:22

So nothing's gonna change.

01:24:23

There's gonna be cartels.

01:24:24

Nothing's gonna change.

01:24:25

But guess what? What you have to do is you have to eliminate the market for cheaters. In the United States.

01:24:31

Joey Greco.

01:24:33

Yeah. Ashley Madison.

01:24:35

That'll never happen, though, because that's a moral conflict and guys are going to cheat forever.

01:24:39

Guys are always—

01:24:40

this is huge. This is actually big.

01:24:41

Did you guys watch that Ashley Madison documentary? It's just like, you're like, yeah, it was 99% dudes just talking to each other.

01:24:46

Yeah, it's great.

01:24:48

It's like you just, you just lost your marriage because you were chatting with a dude online thinking it was a chick.

01:24:56

What? What chick would sign up for a website where it's like, hey, meet, meet up with a bunch of guys that want to cheat on their wives?

01:25:02

Yeah.

01:25:03

Like, if girls want to cheat on their husband, I got news for you. They can do it just by like walking outside.

01:25:08

Yeah, exactly.

01:25:10

They actually get further away from computers.

01:25:13

It was, it was a very funny watch. Very funny watch. All right. Any other ones, Zach? Good.

01:25:18

Those are— we covered most everything else. That's all I have for today.

01:25:21

Okay, let's get to our interviews. Awesome interviews. Scotty Scheffer. We have Joe Davis in person. Before we do that, PFT.

01:25:28

Before we get to our good friend Scotty Scheffler live in person, getting ready for the President's Cup, he's brought to you by our great friends over at Reese's. I got my Reese's right here, the Oreo, the Reese's Oreos. So good. Love the Reese's marshmallows. That is my new favorite. But there's something for everyone when it comes to Reese's. Uh, I like the Fast Break. I like everything Reese's ever put out. Reese's Pieces, nothing like some Reese's Pieces in a sundae. And some frozen yogurt. I had some froyo with Reese's Pieces as the blend in the other day. It's awesome. Doesn't matter if it's vanilla, chocolate, cookie dough, you put some Reese's Pieces in there, and then it becomes an event. Reese's is delicious. Chocolate, peanut butter, all of your favorites. There's no competitor to Reese's. Reese's is the official candy partner of Barstool Sports. They do the Reese's Lounge here. I went up there before Thursday Night Football last week, had a couple Reese's. Chilled out, great place to hang. Shout out to Reese's, great company, and they're the best. And frankly, they probably don't need to advertise because their product is that good. You know it, you love it.

01:26:29

But I'm glad that they do because I love Reese's. Go get Reese's wherever you shop. Reese's, it is the best. And Scotty Scheffler is also brought to you by our good friends at BetterHelp. If you could wake up tomorrow and be better at one thing, what would that be and why?

01:26:46

Zach.

01:26:48

One thing if I could be better at tomorrow? Yeah, I'm gonna go with 3-point shots.

01:26:51

Okay, Hank.

01:26:53

1v1 Call of Duty.

01:26:55

Okay, guess what? If I could be better at one thing tomorrow, it would probably be my ability to procrastinate better because I'm not good enough at it yet.

01:27:09

Hmm.

01:27:10

But we can all work on something.

01:27:12

01:28:06

Okay, we now welcome on a very, very special guest. It is the best golfer on the planet, Scottie Scheffler, in person. Is that cool when I say best golfer on the planet? I mean, you are.

01:28:18

I mean, yeah, still, still not, still not quite, quite used to it, but yeah. You should be used to it. Yeah, I'm the best golfer a couple weeks a year.

01:28:26

Yeah, but you're the best golfer on the planet. We're here, uh, Presidents Cup's here in Chicago this week, uh, very excited for it. Your 3rd Presidents Cup?

01:28:35

3rd Presidents Cup.

01:28:35

You're 2-0. Uh, is there any pressure knowing like you guys have to win this, you have to win the President's Cup?

01:28:42

I mean, I think anytime you're representing your country, I think you feel the weight of that. Like, I think sometimes that almost makes it more challenging knowing kind of like what we're representing. Like, it's not just playing for your team or playing for your partner, like we're playing for the country. And these tournaments are something that, that kind of everybody can get behind.

01:28:56

Yeah.

01:28:57

Um, but like the nerves and the pressure you feel is like you're doing something that matters, and I think that that's a really cool feeling.

01:29:03

Yeah.

01:29:03

Is there anything that you do differently in, in the preparation, like team golf As opposed to individual golf mentally has to be a lot different. But like, besides the obvious nature of you don't want to let, you know, let down your teammates, is there anything different that you do to prepare?

01:29:18

I mean, as far as like the golf stuff, not really. But I think mentally it, it needs to be a little bit different because, you know, every week out of the year I'm doing my own thing pretty much all the time. Like, and if I let myself down, that's, that's okay. Like, it's a lot easier letting myself down. And then when you're standing there with your partner, I think there's definitely kind of like the added weight to it.

01:29:38

Yeah.

01:29:38

Um, and so mentally, I think you need to approach it slightly differently than you normally would approach a regular tournament. But overall, it's just a matter of going out there and trying to execute. And, um, you know, I got some, some of my best friends are on this team, and I'm looking forward to just going out there and competing and having some fun with the guys.

01:29:53

All right, so not to do the thing where, uh, regular guy compares himself to professional athlete, but I'm about to do that. When I'm— I'm a terrible golfer. golfer. When I play in any type of team setting scramble, I always feel so bad because I'm just letting down everyone that I'm playing with. And I say sorry like constantly. I'll literally be like, just hit a drive, just be like, sorry, my bad, dude. Do you think that you being the best player in the world, like, your partners ever feel that? Do you have to give them a little talk being like, dude, I'm just Scottie, like, let's go win together? Because I do think there's an element— I mean, you saw it with Tiger when he played in these tournaments, Phil, When you're the best, the guy you're playing with, your partner, probably feels extra pressure that you're not putting on him, but he might be putting on himself.

01:30:37

Yeah, I think that a lot of that just comes with the team environment. Like, I grew up playing team sports, and I, I always felt a little bit more pressure there just because you're playing for your teammates as well. You're playing for something that's, you know, bigger than yourself. And, um, I've never had that discussion, but I've always become really close with the guys that I've played with just because going out into that environment where there is so much pressure, there's a lot of stress attached to it. Like, you really feel like you're— I mean, you're stepping into the arena in a big way, and it's, it's very important that you're on the same page with whoever you're out there with.

01:31:06

You say sorry in team golf?

01:31:08

So I have one, one, one story about that. Sam Burns and I were playing— this is my first Presidents Cup— and we're playing alternate shot, and we had agreed not to say sorry to each other. Yeah, like, that was like, we're not going to say sorry, like, we're not going to do it. And we get to— I think it was like the 9th hole— and I cold shanked an iron shot off this par 3, like 100 yards straight right into the woods. And like, he's completely screwed from there.

01:31:34

And like, every part of me wants to be like, dude, I'm so sorry, right?

01:31:38

I just like literally cold shank, like straight, like clearly gonna lose the hole. And we kind of just walk over and Sam's just like looking straight. He has no idea what to say. He's probably never even seen me shank the ball before, right? He's just kind of looking straight and he kind of just like gives me the look and I kind of look at him and I was just I love it.

01:31:55

I love it.

01:31:56

If I were him, I would, I would have said like, it's okay, you should actually apologize.

01:32:01

It is.

01:32:01

It's a good rule to have.

01:32:02

It's a really good rule. Yeah, because I, like I said, I mean, when I, I know it's different playing professional, but like when you play in these settings, I just, I just, I like, it's like a machine gun of sorries that I throw at whoever I'm playing with.

01:32:13

Well, yeah, because you, I mean, you want to be able to perform, you want to be able to hit the shots, and especially alternate shot where you're like actually Actually screwing them over. Yeah, he's got to go hit it from this. Yeah, I got to walk up to the green. Exactly. Yeah, but I mean, it's like, you want to hit every shot great, but I think having the understanding that that's not going to happen— and so there's no need to apologize. Like, I know he's trying his best, and he knows I'm trying my best. And some things— and sometimes things don't go always as you plan them.

01:32:35

One of my favorite things about team golf is, uh, is like the handshakes and high fives whenever something goes well, because I think golfers are like 0 for 500,000 on, on agreeing whether they're doing a fist bump, a high five, or a handshake when they're excited. Like, I don't think it's ever connected. I think it's always like there's only one choice, you know, out of the 3 that you, that you have to make, and it never links up. Do you guys have— like, I know in, in, uh, team sports you get traded to a new team, you have a bunch of new handshakes and stuff. Do you guys have anything like that?

01:33:05

I think we probably need to be a little bit more connected on that. Like, I can definitely think of some examples of like not knowing exactly how to celebrate great. Yeah, especially somebody who like isn't very performative to begin with. So then like when you do get really excited, like, yeah, typically like it's hard to get on the same page. Like, I— like Bryson and I, this is my first Ryder Cup, we're trying to celebrate something and I think we almost missed the high five and then we somehow ended up like stumbling into a chest bump somehow. We like didn't know what to do. And then like I think I tried to high five him again, he just like walked off.

01:33:33

Yeah, yeah.

01:33:34

The problem is because golf is a sport that you shake hands. Yeah, no other sport are you like shaking hands as much as you shake hands in golf, especially at the end of the So you guys aren't used to the high fives. We gotta get—

01:33:45

I like the jumping, uh, hip bump. You know that, like the jump side thing?

01:33:49

We need to get like a, you know, I don't know if this is allowed for the Presidents Cup, but it'd be great if we got like a Dominican baseball player on the team just to like teach you guys.

01:33:57

So yeah, I was about to say we need somebody to teach us.

01:34:00

Just loosen it up a little, you know what I mean? Just like have some fun with it.

01:34:04

I would like to see something like, uh, like a scramble at one of these, if it's the Presidents Cup or if it's the Ryder Cup. Like, let, let the boys go out there, do a scramble, see how low you can go. Like, how, how low do you think you could get with, like, your— if you were to pick 3 other guys from the Presidents Cup team, how low do you think you could shoot at Medina?

01:34:22

Oh, if you have 4 of us in a scramble? I mean, you could shoot, you could shoot pretty low. I feel like, uh, I feel like a par would be like a fairly disappointing result. I'm sure that would happen over the course of a round. Like, we've never actually tried that, but I think you you— like, having 4 chances is significantly different than only having, you know, 1 or 2, right?

01:34:40

Yeah.

01:34:41

How many of us could— no, we couldn't beat you.

01:34:45

Yeah, we could.

01:34:45

There's nothing—

01:34:46

yeah, we could.

01:34:47

Like I was saying, like, if we had 20 guys, if we're 20 guys, we're all between 15 and 25 handicaps. Yeah, well, we win a hole.

01:34:57

Yeah, for sure. Like, golf, golf is one of those sports where, like, you guys can probably all If you get— if you're given enough tries, you can all do the things that we do. It's not a sport.

01:35:07

Probably not.

01:35:08

Like, it's not like—

01:35:08

but it's not like watching somebody dunk a basketball. Yeah, you'll like never be able to dunk a basketball.

01:35:14

Yeah, but I'll never be able to hit one straight 330 yards.

01:35:18

Yeah, but you could hit it eventually. Like, you'll hit one 250.

01:35:21

Yeah, sure.

01:35:22

And you know, like, the more you try, you'll learn how to hit it.

01:35:23

I could have swung stronger than that.

01:35:26

Like, but like, eventually you could do something very close. Like, maybe not hit it 350, but you could hit 300. You don't have to hit it 350. And so like, give it enough tries, like you can pull off the shot.

01:35:36

If you have like 10 guys, you're not going to be able to keep your eyes on all of us. We're going to cheat. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we can take a couple holes off.

01:35:43

True, the numbers there. Um, you don't still have hand, foot, and mouth, right? Um, okay. Did you actually have it?

01:35:50

All the remnants are actually gone up until—

01:35:52

my kids had it too, and we— I actually, when my oldest had it, I didn't know he had it, and I was just I was like, why is this baby crying? Like, why is he— like, why is he touching his feet? And then I learned about it. I was like, oh, this is serious.

01:36:02

Yeah, yeah.

01:36:03

That sucks.

01:36:04

Fortunately, Remy, our younger— our 6-month-old, did not get it, but Bennett and I got it pretty good.

01:36:09

It's brutal.

01:36:10

It was awful.

01:36:11

Yeah, like, it was—

01:36:12

it was—

01:36:12

you're a warrior for being out there.

01:36:14

The, the worst part was my throat. Like, I, I remember walking off the course on Thursday, and these guys wanted me to do, like, my media stop, and I was like— I very rarely ever say no, and I was like, no, like, I can't do it. And as I was walking off, a reporter I'm really close to was like, hey, can I just ask a couple questions while you're walking? I was like, no, I cannot talk. Yeah, my throat was that bad. Um, but that's just, that's just part of it.

01:36:35

Yeah.

01:36:35

Well, fortunately, like, the, the blister stayed for a long time on my hands. That's like, it was pretty significant.

01:36:40

Like, for a golfer.

01:36:41

Yeah.

01:36:41

Yeah. Was it like gripping the club?

01:36:42

Um, the first couple days were, were not great, but it got better as the week went on. They, they gave me like some steroid cream that I put on my hands that, that helped. Like the—

01:36:52

Oh, imagine if you got popped.

01:36:54

Hopefully not.

01:36:54

And you're like, dude, I just—

01:36:56

Fortunately, the tournament had a doctor, and I was like, listen, man, like, I think this is what it is. And he's like, oh yeah, he looked at everything.

01:37:02

And then imagine if they were like, oh, Scotty's on the gear, he's got— he's on steroids. Like, no dude, my kid has hand, foot, mouth disease.

01:37:09

Bryce is like, yeah, I think I got that too.

01:37:11

What do you want me to do? Oh man, it was not fun. Yeah, no, not fun at all. Not fun at all. Um, also congrats to your youngest who's not a jinx, because I know there was a time when he hadn't been in the He hadn't— you had won, right?

01:37:28

And then he was born in March. I didn't win until maybe like August or so.

01:37:31

Was there ever a moment where you're like, is he a jinx? Oh, I had that with all my kids when they were born. It's like, are you a jinx?

01:37:38

It was about gambling though.

01:37:39

Figure it out.

01:37:40

Yeah.

01:37:40

Like gambling, you definitely believe jinxes for sure.

01:37:43

Oh, it's the kid's fault.

01:37:44

Yeah.

01:37:44

The day my first, firstborn was born, I went 0-4 in WNBA overs and I just— he's a jinx for sure.

01:37:51

Do you have, do you have any like actual superstitions?

01:37:55

I mean, I've used the same yardage book for a long time. I use the same ball marker every round.

01:38:01

Oh, what is it?

01:38:02

It's a Dallas Cowboys coin.

01:38:04

Oh, okay.

01:38:05

You're kind of a piece of shit. Would you like to apologize? I'm a Commanders fan.

01:38:11

Being a Cowboys fan is not fun.

01:38:15

Good.

01:38:15

Yeah, no, that's true.

01:38:17

Yeah, it's not like I jumped on some bandwagon like the last time they made I think an NFC Championship was before I was born.

01:38:23

Yeah. Yeah.

01:38:24

So like, I'm 5, I think I should get like a reward for being as loyal as I am.

01:38:27

Yeah, that is true. Like, if you're—

01:38:29

I mean, you can relate to that. Like, it's not—

01:38:31

He put a jinx on, uh, the Cowboys, uh, yesterday. I was like, oh no, what are they— what's gonna happen? They're not gonna make an NFC Championship game for another 30 years. Like, they're jinxed.

01:38:40

I was— it was, it was a moment of, uh, emotions were running high after the game, and then I went back, I saw the post that the Cowboys put out before the game on like Friday, and it was, uh, Jaden injured lying on the ground from last year's game. And so I was upset about that, so I put a jinx on the Cowboys. I will remove the jinx if you apologize on behalf of the Cowboys.

01:39:03

I don't know what they posted, so I can't— I can't dive into those waters.

01:39:07

We don't celebrate injuries, but the Cowboys did, so I, I had no choice but to jinx them. Um, but I mean, they look pretty good right now.

01:39:15

It's a curse.

01:39:16

It's a curse.

01:39:17

I was full-blown—

01:39:18

I was out of options. Yeah, I had nothing. I was just kind of flailing at the world. But they do look good this year.

01:39:22

Yeah, is this the year?

01:39:23

The offense looks good.

01:39:24

I tell you what, I was really excited for the season to start just because like we drafted a bunch of guys on defense. Like the defense actually got better as the year went on last year, like the, the guys we traded for at the deadline. Like, and then they played the Giants, I was like, this was awful.

01:39:38

Yeah, that was bad.

01:39:39

Yeah. And then I got to watch a bit of the game yesterday and it was, it was better. But then like you're playing a backup quarterback.

01:39:44

I don't know how much that factors in, but yeah, he's a pretty good backup.

01:39:47

He is a good backup.

01:39:48

I'm still— I'm just hurt. Hurt people hurt people. That's what I'm going through right now. Oh, but you guys got to watch, watch the games together. That's, that's kind of cool.

01:39:56

Yeah, it's fun. Like, for, for me, just being able to sit down and watch football— like, we were sitting at the course and I'm like, you know, my, my kids are at the hotel. Like, this is some free time that we don't really get. It wasn't the worst thing to get rained out, so we kind of just caught up with the guys and watched, watched the games.

01:40:10

And do you guys take a bus to the, to the course?

01:40:13

Yeah, bus to the course.

01:40:14

That's probably good for you because—

01:40:16

Yeah, it's not bad.

01:40:21

It's not bad. That all happened. Have you like— it's been enough time now where we could just be like, that was nuts.

01:40:28

So like, people always joke about me getting arrested. Like, it's bad. I got, by the way, I got like— I didn't just get arrested, I got charged with assaulting a police officer. Yeah, like, I didn't just like get like a Like, I did— like, I got charged with assaulting a police officer. So it was like Sam actually wore the t-shirt with my mugshot to the, to the, our team room last night. So I love that the joke continues to—

01:40:51

it's crazy. Like, I just remember that morning waking up being like, what, Scotty? What did he do? Yeah, I had the same story came out. It was just like, oh, okay, this is not— he, he didn't do anything bad. It was a wild miscommunication. But yeah, street, you know, street credit for you.

01:41:07

Yeah, yeah, don't mess with me. I'll go to jail.

01:41:09

I mean, at one point, it's got to be— you have to understand what a ridiculous situation it's in. But then when you read like felony, yeah, yeah, like, excuse me, what?

01:41:19

Well, that was— it wasn't like I just went to jail. Like, I got charged with a very, very serious crime.

01:41:24

Well, you did ruin his pants. Yeah, I read the police report the other day. I had to remind myself the very last—

01:41:31

What does the police report say?

01:41:33

The very last sentence of the police report was, and the officer's pants were damaged beyond repair.

01:41:39

Yep.

01:41:39

Pretty disgusting. That's, you know, classic Cowboys fan stuff.

01:41:44

And by the way, credit to you. Did you— I assume you never dropped like a, do you know who I am?

01:41:50

No, I didn't.

01:41:50

You said, I'm playing in the tournament, I would assume.

01:41:52

But to be honest with you, I don't remember a whole lot of what happened after. When I remember him trying to like get me out of the car and I was just like, I'm not getting out of this car until some police officers show up.

01:42:04

Right.

01:42:04

Like not knowing who the person was trying to get into my car. And then like, next thing I know, I'm in handcuffs in like the back of a police car. And I was like, whatever this guy tells me to do, like, I'm not saying a word. Yeah.

01:42:16

Like, smart.

01:42:16

Like, I can only get myself into trouble right now.

01:42:19

Right. Yeah.

01:42:19

Right. But not like, honestly, like the, if there was a video of you being like, do you know who I am? That's the worst for like a, a celebrity or, or famous person.

01:42:26

Yeah.

01:42:26

Well, it was like, I, like in that situation, I was just like, okay, like I know I didn't do anything wrong. So like, as long as I just like, do what I'm told, everything will work out. And everything worked out.

01:42:36

And like, what'd you shoot that day?

01:42:38

I shot, I think, 6-under.

01:42:39

Yeah, it's pretty—

01:42:41

it was good.

01:42:42

Is there— what's, what's a lead that you're like, all right, I'm probably out of this? Because you had one this year. What was it, the Masters, that you were like 13 back and then you got all the way down to like— yeah, I mean, is there— are you like, I'm always going to be like, I'm gonna, I'm gonna be back in this? Because you Have— I feel like that is something that you're really, really good at, that like you can be hovering around Thursday, Friday, and then Saturday, Sunday come, it's like, oh, here comes Scottie. Like, this is what's happening, he's making a charge.

01:43:10

Yeah, I think it's like I always pride myself on trying to do my best, and like that's not something that I take very lightly. And so like if I'm going to show up to a tournament, like I'm showing up to play 72 holes and play as hard as I can. I feel like that's what I'm called to do. Like my calling when I get to a tournament is to compete as hard as I can. And you know, there's been some tournaments where you know, I could have maybe been out of it, and then I played some really good golf to get myself back into it.

01:43:33

Yeah.

01:43:34

Like, there's definitely some examples over the course of my career where there were some times I could have given up. And like, one of them I think about often is like when I— the, the Olympics in France, I shot I think maybe like a 29 on the back 9 to get into medal position. And it was just like, I remember walking off the 9th green just so pissed. I wasn't holding any putts. I look at my caddie and I'm like, I'm like ready to break my putter. And I was like, Teddy, like, I think I'm gonna putt better with my lob wedge. Like, it's probably time to break it. Like, it's over. And he's like, no, no, like, just don't break it. Like, give it to me. And I was like, Teddy, I'm pretty sure I'd putt better with my lob wedge. Like, in that moment, you, you feel like giving up because like it's a hard game and it can get really frustrating. And but Teddy talked me off the ledge and we ended up going out there and having a great back 9 and, and put ourselves in a position to do something really cool.

01:44:17

That's— yeah.

01:44:18

Like, I think when I look back at my career Like, I want to say that I gave it everything that I could.

01:44:25

And yeah, like, that, that's mental toughness, because I'll tell you right now, I would quit so fast if, like, if things start going bad. It's like, I'm out.

01:44:36

Yeah, I mean, just like, if you work really hard for something, you don't want to just— you don't want to just give in. And I don't know, I feel like I take a lot of pride in, like, if I get off to a tough start, like, it's part of, you know, perseverance and fortitude and all that stuff. Yeah, getting in and just continuing to grind things out. Like, I— yeah, I'm definitely proud of those things for sure.

01:44:53

Yeah, definitely. You should be. And I mean, that is like a— I, I really do mean it. Like, there's, there's so many times where I'm watching a golf tournament and in the first couple days you're like down there and it's like, Scottie will be heard from at some point. Like, he will— there, there will be a moment where everyone will be like, watch out, here comes Scottie. And that's— you can't say that about every guy, you know? There's, there's some guys that like, when they're— when they have a bad first 2 days It's like, that's it. There's no coming back. It's like you're always a threat. And I feel like other people feel that too.

01:45:23

Yeah.

01:45:23

Yeah.

01:45:23

I mean, to be honest, I don't really know how to elaborate on it. Like, I feel like, I feel like when I step up on the first tee, I want to tell myself that, that I did everything I could in order to play well. And now my job is to compete. And so then, you know, we're given another 4 days to compete and that's, that's what I'm called to do. And I don't really, I don't really think much, much past that.

01:45:39

Yeah.

01:45:40

You, you seem like a process guy, somebody that, that takes a lot of joy in the process and then the results kind of speak to the work that you've put in. But you definitely, in order to achieve what you've done, I'm sure that you have goals and things that you want to accomplish. Like, what, what do you want to, to have accomplished when all is said and done in terms of your golf career?

01:46:00

Whoa, that's a heavy question.

01:46:01

That is a heavy question. I, I've never been a guy that's like written down goals. I have like what I would call dreams and aspirations, but I've always been at my best when I just live really day to day and like, I, I am a process guy for sure. Like, one of my favorite things in the world is going out and practicing by myself. Like, I just love trying to figure things out, and golf is a puzzle that can pretty much never be solved. And it's one of my favorite things in the world. Like, I love practicing and trying to improve and, and figure this game out. And like, that's why I feel like I keep coming back. Like, I don't get, I don't get tired of practicing. I love trying to figure it out.

01:46:35

Do you feel like you'll go out and practice, you're like, I feel like I got better to— like, I, I fixed something or did something because from the outside we just see, you know, professional golfers like they're just so, so good, they're at a different level. But you're actually like fine-tuning stuff and being like, I got better today, I know exactly what I got.

01:46:51

I mean, I'm definitely always chasing that feeling at the end of the day. You know, there's always some days where you get done with the course and, you know, my wife's like, how was your day? And I was like, it was not good.

01:46:57

Yeah, good.

01:46:58

But then there's some other days where you're like, I had a really good— I had a really good day. Yeah, I felt like I definitely improved. And I feel like more often than not I want that feeling when I leave the course and Um, we're always kind of striving to get there, and I feel like I can get a little bit impatient, I think, sometimes when it's not going that way.

01:47:12

Yeah.

01:47:13

Yeah.

01:47:13

By the way, when you, uh, I think I— was it a FedEx, uh, uh, prank video with Eli Manning? That he— that was the worst costume ever. You knew that was Eli, right?

01:47:23

Yeah, I think he showed up on the range.

01:47:25

Yeah, come on.

01:47:26

At first, at first he had his head down, and so you couldn't really tell, but he was like— he's so tall. Yeah, you're like, you're not a normal looking person.

01:47:33

We like Eli, but it was like, dude, come on, you gotta put on like some prosthetics or something.

01:47:38

Yeah, or like have a chair or something. Like, just seeing him standing there— like, he came up to us on the range, he's got his head down, he's like 6'6.

01:47:44

I'm like, dude, who's this guy?

01:47:47

Yeah, he always sounds like Manning no matter what voice he puts on.

01:47:50

Yeah, that's true.

01:47:51

I'm just here with FedEx.

01:47:52

Yeah.

01:47:53

I got a question for you, kind of a serious question, because I—

01:47:55

we've—

01:47:55

when we've had you on before, I've always, uh, I think I said it last time you're on, Like, I love how honest you are as an athlete, and I think that's rare for athletes to be able to be honest, like talking about your faith, talking about your family. Um, when it comes like— and it's always weird to me with sports media where it's like guys are honest and then we criticize them. It's like, no, we want them to be honest, we want them to be themselves. Would you say that like as a man, like crying after an injury is like fine? Like a hamstring injury?

01:48:26

But what if it's— it's probably a really bad hamstring injury that you're talking about, right?

01:48:30

It seems really bad. He's like getting carted off and like everyone's like, oh fuck. But it might not be that bad.

01:48:36

So I had Caleb— I have Caleb, he was starting on my team.

01:48:39

So you cried too?

01:48:40

Yeah.

01:48:41

Yeah. Okay. See, emotion's okay to show.

01:48:45

Well, on like, on a more like, if it's a serious question, like I'm a super, super emotional guy. I cry at everything.

01:48:50

Love that. Um, same.

01:48:52

Same.

01:48:52

But yeah, seeing Caleb, like, you just— I don't, I don't know what to say to that. Yeah, because now, like, I read today it was like a grade 1.

01:49:01

Yeah, but in the moment he was really hurt. In the moment—

01:49:05

I'm not gonna even begin to try to understand what those football players go through each week.

01:49:09

Thank you.

01:49:10

Like, we were even watching some of the stuff yesterday. Like, I can't remember who it was for the Cowboys, but he got hit low.

01:49:16

Yeah, he got, he got stepped on the taint. The one guy who got stepped on the taint, that did happen. And I don't know what game too.

01:49:22

Yeah, I just remember watching and he was going across and he got hit like right here.

01:49:26

Yeah.

01:49:26

Okay.

01:49:27

It might've been that.

01:49:28

Yeah.

01:49:28

Yeah.

01:49:29

With a helmet. And I'm like, if somebody did that to me, like he's running full speed this way, that guy's running full speed this way. And then he just got up.

01:49:34

Yeah.

01:49:35

I kept playing.

01:49:36

Yeah.

01:49:36

I was like, I would never be able to get up from that.

01:49:38

Yeah.

01:49:38

So I don't, I'm not gonna go down the, I'm a golfer. I'm not gonna try to relate our golf injuries to— You've, uh, no hamstring?

01:49:45

Oh no. Okay, he hasn't heard.

01:49:46

What's the word? Yeah, what's the worst injury you've had?

01:49:49

Hand, foot, and mouth.

01:49:50

That is pretty bad.

01:49:52

I got a wine glass through my hand a few years ago.

01:49:54

Oh shit. Oh man, that's like a baseball player injury. It's for like—

01:49:58

it was pretty dumb.

01:49:59

Yeah, or hockey. Yeah, it happened here. Yeah, Chicago one time. Yeah.

01:50:03

All right, so you, you agree, like, like athletes should be able to show their emotions more? Yeah, it's a loaded question.

01:50:09

Well, that's not really—

01:50:09

you're not talking about emotion.

01:50:10

Yeah, no, no.

01:50:11

Are you talking about emotion or are you talking about both?

01:50:13

Pain?

01:50:14

Everything all in one.

01:50:16

Sometimes, sometimes it's an emotional thing.

01:50:17

I'll be honest, I did not think, I did not think that's where that question was gonna go.

01:50:22

You like how I did that?

01:50:23

I was like, you really teed me up. I was like, okay, I better put on the serious hat.

01:50:27

And then I just wanna be like, Scotty, tell me that it's fine that my quarterback had an emotional moment. It's fine.

01:50:32

It's fine.

01:50:32

I think it's fine.

01:50:32

Yeah, it's fine.

01:50:34

Exactly.

01:50:34

Thank you.

01:50:34

What was your emotion when you, uh, so callously broke Jayden Daniels' I was like, man, they really should have kicked a field goal. Yeah.

01:50:42

Yeah.

01:50:42

Well, butterfly effect. Yeah, it's butterfly effect.

01:50:45

I really like— I think like seeing injuries in sports really stinks.

01:50:51

Yeah.

01:50:52

Yeah.

01:50:52

It's like getting injured. Like, I remember when I, when I hurt my hand, I missed the first couple of tournaments. Like, we're like, you put so much work into putting yourself in a position to succeed and then you get injured and it's something out of your control. I think especially in a sport like football where they just get injured all the time, like it really sucks to watch.

01:51:06

Yeah.

01:51:06

Yeah, it really does. It does.

01:51:08

Um, I have a sport— I have a, uh, like golf, strictly golf nerd related question, and maybe you can explain it to me. Because I think a lot of people out there, they watch you play, they understand you're the best player in the world, and they, they look at your feet when you swing and they're like, what, what is going on with the feet? And I know that there's a, a reason, there's like a, a method behind the madness and something that you're trying to do. But I realized when I was watching your swing the other day, like, I don't know what that is. I don't know why you do that with feet.

01:51:36

So can you explain it?

01:51:37

Like, we're dumb, we don't know anything about golf, but can you, can you dumb it down to our level?

01:51:42

Oh yeah, I can dumb it down pretty easy.

01:51:43

Okay.

01:51:44

Yeah, I don't know exactly what I'm doing with my feet, but I've had the same coach since I was 7 years old, and like Randy's fixed a lot of stuff for me, but that was something that if he ever tried to fix it, it just didn't feel natural. And so like you could go into the science behind it, but for me, I just feel athletic when I'm hitting a golf ball, and if I lock my feet in, I feel too robotic.

01:52:02

Okay, swing your Swing or swing. Yeah, yeah. I like the swing or swing thing that people say because it's like, I'm a— I have a bad swing, but I'm gonna swing it. Yeah, I mean, swing or swing.

01:52:14

Like, golf is such a complicated game. I think sometimes for people, like, the simpler you can make it, the easier it typically gets.

01:52:20

Yeah.

01:52:20

And so, like, you look at— there's a lot of guys that are playing some really good golf right now that have different looking swings. Like, yo, I got her up on a few days ago. Like, he's about as unique of a move as you'll see on tour.

01:52:29

Yeah.

01:52:29

Yeah.

01:52:30

And he's really, really good at golf.

01:52:31

Yeah.

01:52:32

Do you do the same thing every time with your feet?

01:52:35

I mean, I'm not even thinking about it at all. Like, if I never saw a video of it, I would never know that I do that.

01:52:40

Really?

01:52:41

Whoa, that's crazy.

01:52:42

What would happen if you tried to—

01:52:43

It's just my swing. I don't know any different.

01:52:45

Yeah. What would happen if you tried to hit a shot and you thought the entire time, don't move your feet?

01:52:50

I'd probably chunk it pretty bad, and that would be—

01:52:53

that would be it.

01:52:53

Do you think we could beat you if you— Scotty not allowed to move his feet, and then all of us scramble? Max hates it when we ask golfers that question.

01:53:04

Yeah.

01:53:05

Uh, Hank, you got any questions for Scottie? He's gotta run in a minute. Oh, by the way, uh, Stu Finer says hello. Uh, did he—

01:53:12

it—

01:53:12

did it ever get to you that he wanted you to come to his house when you guys played at Bethpage?

01:53:17

I mean, I would have loved to be able to go to his house.

01:53:19

Yeah, I think you were pretty busy.

01:53:21

I—

01:53:21

he texted me, it was like— he called me, he's like, can you get Scottie to come to my house? I was like, look, I have a— I, I know one of Scottie's guys. I will send the text. But I do not think that he has the time on a major week to come by.

01:53:35

Well, I think that's something that like a lot of people don't understand about golf is it's not like a typical practice schedule. Like the days are long, right? Our days are really long. Our days at home are really, really long days. Like today, like we left for the course at 7:30 and I haven't showered yet, right? Just like I got home and I went straight to do— see my trainer, then went straight to media, and now I'm here.

01:53:57

And because we think of golf as like 3 and a half hours, 4 hours play, then go home.

01:54:01

Yeah. Like you walk up, you hit your first tee shot, and that's your first shot of the day.

01:54:04

But like, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, but Stu, if you— he wanted you to come.

01:54:08

So I was like, my apologies, Stu.

01:54:10

Yeah, he loves you. You know he loves you. And, uh, I hope you're still watching Advisors.

01:54:14

I am still watching Advisors.

01:54:15

He's still killing it. He's, uh, he's, he's the best. He was the absolute best. And I— he might try to find you the next couple days.

01:54:21

That whole answer—

01:54:23

let him, let him come find me.

01:54:24

Yeah, that whole answer you gave is just going to encourage him.

01:54:26

Oh yeah, yeah.

01:54:26

No, he loves—

01:54:27

he's gonna hear this.

01:54:28

and he's gonna be like, okay, Scotty, we're doing dinner.

01:54:33

Uh, you got a question for Scotty?

01:54:35

I saw a clip of Siwoo saying, which I do— it was hard to believe that he learned how to hit different shot shapes playing with you, but he was like already a pro golfer. Whoa, is that true?

01:54:46

Um, Siwoo and I started playing a lot of golf together. So Siwoo made this maybe 2 or 3 years ago. He asked me one day, just stopped me in the locker room, he's like, hey, you a member at Royal Oak. And I was like, yeah, like, what's up? Like, he's like, you, you can help me join there? And I was like, yeah, like, if you want to. Like, it's called Royal Oaks, not Royal Oak, but yeah, I can help you join there. And so I helped him get into the club. It's the club I grew up at. It's where my coach Randy's been for like 50 years now. And, uh, we play a lot of golf together, and he has— he asks a lot of questions.

01:55:14

See who—

01:55:15

I don't know if y'all have ever interacted with him, but he's awesome. Yeah, he's everybody's favorite guy.

01:55:18

Yeah.

01:55:19

Um, how many clubs are you a member Uh, just 3. But you're— you can go anywhere. Has anyone ever said no?

01:55:28

I've never really tried.

01:55:29

That would be crazy.

01:55:30

Yeah, I've never—

01:55:30

no, like, imagine that. I kind of want someone to say— I want like a, a Muni course to say no. She'd be like, sorry, Scotty, you can't come.

01:55:38

Banned. We back the blue here.

01:55:41

You got another question? Follow-up?

01:55:44

But yeah, see, I— maybe, I don't know. You know, he asked a lot of questions when we play golf.

01:55:48

It was just shocking because he was obviously like, he's a professional golfer at that point. He's like, yeah, you know, I, I was playing with him and he was telling me like how he hits, like he just tries to like fade it towards the pin or draw it towards the pin. And then I started doing that too.

01:55:59

That's sick.

01:56:00

It kind of sounds like sewage.

01:56:03

Uh, any hazing for, for like Jackson, like the young, the young guy, new guy on the team?

01:56:07

Or like—

01:56:08

Yeah. Um, or like anything that you had to do that you're, you're making them do?

01:56:14

Not really. Like, our thing is always like stuff that's in the team room, we try to keep in the team room. Like, unless you're Kisner. Kisner talks a lot about stuff we do.

01:56:23

He talks a lot about a lot.

01:56:25

Oh yeah, right. Yeah.

01:56:27

No, no, he—

01:56:28

No, he's covering it.

01:56:29

I think he might be. Yeah, yeah. I was about to say, I haven't seen him yet this week. Yeah, but no, I mean, we just try to get the guys integrated to the team. Like, Jackson's like— I mean, he maybe played 5 events as a professional before this one, and so I mean, he's super green, but, um, he's very mature and he's really, really good at golf.

01:56:44

Ask him if he knows there's, uh— you're not gonna ask him this, but I'm gonna make you. I'm gonna say ask him and you're not gonna do it, but that's fine. Ask him if he knows there's a tracker fight over him. There's 2 trackers.

01:56:55

Oh, Jackson Coivin trackers?

01:56:56

Yeah. Wait, oh no, that's the other guy. Who's the other guy who the tracker fight was? Oh, it was him?

01:57:02

Yeah, yeah.

01:57:02

There was 2 guys both claiming they were the tracker, and then they would like— they fought back and forth. Do you have a— I track them. No, I track them. And it was, it was good stuff.

01:57:10

Are you aware—

01:57:10

that was a really bad story. I'm bailing on it.

01:57:13

I'm just curious if you are aware of like the tracking community.

01:57:16

Not really. I, I try to do my best to kind of stay out of it. Like, that's smart. We talk about my process. Like, me staying off the internet is, is definitely a good thing.

01:57:25

Like, very smart.

01:57:25

I'd agree. Yeah, you got your advisors. That's all you need.

01:57:28

Like, you're, you're getting a taste what this conversation is. That's all day, every day on the internet. Yeah, you don't want that.

01:57:34

I am embarrassed that I brought that up in front of you. All right, Zach, get out Get out here, Zach, for last question, and then Sky's got to go. Good question, Hank. Uh, Presidents Cup, tune in all week. It starts Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, USA. Get ready. Hank's a big— always just root for our country.

01:57:49

Hank is a big international guy. He's going to be rooting against you.

01:57:53

Yeah, yeah, he's a big live guy. All right, uh, Roback question. rhoback.com, promo code TAKE, 20% off your first purchase. Q-zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts. roback.com, promo code TAKE. Zach, think you got this.

01:58:04

Uh, how we doing, Scotty? I just did have— that's awesome, I love that. Great day, man, even better now. Uh, I did have a quick question, if that's cool. If you're looking to have like the best day on the golf course, not necessarily like the lowest scoring round, but just the best day overall, if you're a part of this 4-man team, what other 3 guys are you kind of— who are you drafting? Who you bringing to the cart for the best day possible on the golf course?

01:58:27

I mean, I have 2, 2 good options. Like, I of like, I have a few really close friends at home, and those guys I would definitely bring out. And then I have kind of like my fun golf group that I've played with for a long time, but those guys are a lot older. Um, so either one of those two. Just like, one of my favorite things too is like social golf. Like, even when I take a break, I still like social golf. So like going out, compete, gamble a little bit, and have fun.

01:58:49

Now, when you're— so say you're going out with those guys back home, are we going full strength, 100% pop, or is it like, do you dial the game back at all?

01:58:57

I mean, I've always kind of just had one speed, so like I maybe would go into it just being like, oh, I'm just gonna go have fun, and then I'll like lose the first hole and be like, crap. Yeah, it's kind of like when you go play— like, I can't play pickup basketball because like, yeah, yeah, gotcha. Just only have one speed. Like, it's right, things are gonna get out of hand. Yeah, it's gonna go and I'm probably gonna hurt myself. Yeah, all right, so for sure. So I would, I would definitely try to approach it that way, but that would quickly get thrown out.

01:59:21

All right, you got a follow-up?

01:59:22

Last question.

01:59:23

Uh, follow-up, that's cool to you. Uh, are there any lessons you learned through your, like, uh, journey with golf that kind of you apply to your own, like, day-to-day life outside of the course that, like, uh, that you could kind of maybe share with us? That's cool.

01:59:33

Oh, deep question.

01:59:34

Yeah.

01:59:35

Um, I think it's always just about remembering your why. Like, I think sometimes when things don't go the way that I think they should go on the golf course, like, I can get frustrated because I work really, really hard to try and perform, but things don't always go that way. And I feel like golf, you're not only competing against your— the golf course or the people in the tournament, but also yourself. And like, remembering my why is always important. Like, why do I wake up every day and try to become the best golfer that I can be? Like, why do I wake up and, you know, try to be a good husband, try to be a good father? Like, why do you do all those things? And I think that for me, just in life, always remembering the why I do things, remembering the purpose behind things, is, is always the most important.

02:00:17

Sky's just the best dude. Dude, he's my role model even though I'm 11 years older than him.

02:00:22

Wait, how old are you?

02:00:23

Uh, 30.

02:00:25

Yeah.

02:00:25

Damn.

02:00:26

Yeah, I feel so—

02:00:27

I look up to Scotty Scheffler.

02:00:29

You're so much more mature than all of us.

02:00:31

It's crazy.

02:00:32

Have you always been super mature? It's crazy.

02:00:34

Oh no, I don't think I'm very mature.

02:00:36

No, it might be us. It might be—

02:00:38

no, you're just like profound and you, you think about things like that and we're— we have like stupid caveman dumb brain. We're thinking about trackers.

02:00:44

But like, I think that's something you can always— like everybody can relate to, and I think especially y'all can relate to like I remember going on that long thing at the Open one year. We're talking about all this different stuff and what is truly satisfying. I feel like that's something you can relate to. If you don't know your why, you guys have accomplished so much in your field that you'd want to accomplish, but you wake up the next day and you're still the same guy. You're still like, the sun rises in the morning, you brush your teeth, you got to take a shower. Just because you accomplished something, it doesn't change, doesn't really change anything for you. And so remembering your why and your purpose Um, I think it's just most important.

02:01:17

And you were 100% right, like, when you said that all that stuff at the Open— I know that, like, some people were like, hey, what's going on here? Like, they maybe disagreed with some things. It's like, that's a guy that, that understands himself and understands what motivates him. Was that all off the top, or did you— had you been thinking about that for a while?

02:01:34

I'm definitely not. Like, I've— I try to keep my distractions to a minimum, so I definitely don't like going on these, like, really deep Yeah, things. But I try to answer questions honestly. And so when somebody asks a really good question, I try to give them a good answer or the best answer that I can.

02:01:49

It's a great answer. Yeah, top of the head.

02:01:51

Yeah, like, yeah, that's it. Just try to be honest.

02:01:53

And then, yeah.

02:01:54

That's why you and Caleb Williams are the best. You'll give a really good answer. You might cry a little. Like, that's the best part about sports, dude. It's the best. All right, Scott, we took too much of your time. Thank you so much, man. This was so much fun. We love having you on the show and Let's win, USA.

02:02:09

Yeah.

02:02:10

Go USA.

02:02:11

Yeah.

02:02:11

Thanks for having me on.

02:02:11

Appreciate you guys.

02:02:14

Scotty Scheffler was brought to you by our great friends over at Shell. I'm going to be honest, I usually don't get excited about loyalty programs. They promise you big rewards and then it's like you actually have to eat 48 pizzas to get one for free. So when I heard about the Shell Fuel Rewards program, I was skeptical. But here's the thing, it actually kind of is annoyingly practical. You're already getting gas, you're already getting takeout, you're already buying snacks that you definitely didn't need but absolutely With Shell Fuel Rewards, you just get rewarded for all that. And it's not a fake points you'll never use way. It's actual savings on gas, and the savings stack up. It's not like one sad little discount. You fill up, you eat, you shop, it all piles into real savings at the pump. Joining takes less than 3 minutes in the Shell app. You'll save on every fill after that, literally every single one you will save at. And get savings on gas gas might be something that interests a lot of you right now, and it's so easy to do. If you want my recommendation, join the Shell Fuel Rewards program and save today.

02:03:13

That's Shell Fuel Rewards and save today. And Joe Davis is coming up, and he's brought to you by Venmo. Football season has a way of turning every normal weekend into a group project. 02:04:26

Okay, we now welcome on a very, very special guest. It is first time, I guess, colleague, kind of. Joe Davis, you can hear the voice. Joe Davis, you can hear him on Sundays calling NFL games. You also are going to hear him calling the Fall Classic in the World Series of Baseball playoffs coming up. Joe, good to see you in studio.

02:04:47

It's great.

02:04:48

Your voice is awesome.

02:04:49

Thanks, man.

02:04:50

When did you first know that your voice was awesome? Like, did you— I always assume announcers like you.

02:04:55

Yeah.

02:04:56

In my head, I'm like, Joe Davis was like just an 11-year-old walking around with your exact same voice and being like, what is this kid's— like, he sounds incredible. He's only 11. What the hell?

02:05:05

Yeah.

02:05:06

Yeah.

02:05:06

I used to, you know, every kid out in the backyard playing their football games and everything, but I would announce them too. And I think my parents probably thought I was crazy looking out there, seeing, seeing their kid tackle himself and hit himself on the helmet and call the games and everything at the same— these fake games. Honestly, though, I, I worried. So I knew I wanted to do this, but as a teenager, I was like, I don't know if I sound good enough. I don't know if I'm— and obviously at that point you're not going to sound like it.

02:05:35

Yeah.

02:05:36

Yeah. An announcer or whatever. I still, I think that it, like, I have this insecurity about do I sound big enough? Do I sound like, you know, Al Michaels and Verne Lundquist and Brent Musburger? And so there's some insecurity there still, I think.

02:05:49

Yeah.

02:05:50

So I'm going to take that. I'm going to take that.

02:05:52

You're there. I think it's also So you've had the, the like privilege of calling some classic moments. I mean, last year's World Series.

02:06:01

Yeah.

02:06:01

If that, if you want to do like, hey, how's Joe Davis like announced it to the world? Like he's here. It's like, that was such a classic World Series. Just big moment after big moment. You crushed it. That's now seared in our brains.

02:06:13

Yeah.

02:06:13

And isn't it crazy how it's like you just kind of have to be right place, right time with that? Right. I just happen to be the lucky son of a gun sitting in that chair when these crazy games are happening. And then you hope that you get the call right. But yeah, I mean, it's kind of the same thing with me doing Dodger games. I happened to show up in 2016 and they have this stretch that they've had over the last decade. It's really just right place, right time with a lot of that.

02:06:39

Yeah.

02:06:40

When you were growing up, did you have announcers that you looked up to and that you like— do you emulate some of those guys as you were like trying to get into the business and figure out what your voice was?

02:06:48

Yeah. It's not just because his name's on the— on your your book there and wrote the foreword. But Joe Buck was the guy for me where knowing that I wanted to do the job, I think at first, honestly, when you're as young as you start having those thoughts, I want to be this or that when I grow up. I knew I wanted to do this job and Joe was the guy calling all the biggest games. And so I think just by osmosis at first it was, I was learning how to announce by listening to him. And then as I started to really pay attention to it, it's like, yeah, this is how it should sound. This is the guy that, that I want to sound like. So Joe, for sure.

02:07:21

And do you credit Joe? Because Joe, like, if Joe doesn't go Hollywood and go to ESPN for like $300 billion and be like, I don't like baseball anymore, you might not be able to sit in that chair.

02:07:33

No doubt.

02:07:34

Like, he kind of— shout out Joe, right?

02:07:36

Yeah, Joe, thanks, man. So he went from being this guy that I dreamt of being like to I go to Fox and I get to meet him and he became and still is a mentor and a friend to me. And he for years was saying to me when I was the number 2 baseball guy there, like, ah, this'll be your chair soon. I'm like, yeah, okay. Like, you're gonna leave the World Series. You keep telling me that, I'll believe it when I see it. And then I remember when I got that call, my agent called me, whatever this would've been, winter of '22, and said, uh, he's like, hey, you saw the news about Aikman going to ESPN? I was like, yeah, crazy, right? And he's like, dude, you're not thinking, like, what the next step to that might be? And I was like, no, I'm not. What is this? And he said, there's a chance Buck's gonna go with him. I was like, oh shit, like, okay. So this— so for a month and a half, because it took forever before it became official, I was on my phone like refreshing social media every 5 minutes waiting for an update and just sitting there with bated breath thinking there's no way he's actually gonna do this, right?

02:08:39

Right.

02:08:39

But then he did. So yeah, I want to thank God. I want to thank Joe Buck.

02:08:42

Yeah, yeah, yeah, he is the best. When you were growing up and you're thinking, hey, I might be a sportscaster one day, the name Joe Davis, it's a good name.

02:08:49

It's great.

02:08:50

name. Did you think about like, does that have enough splash? Is that going to stand out enough to make me, to, you know, get my resume to the top of any piles?

02:08:59

It is so boring, isn't it? It sounds like fake.

02:09:02

It's just a regular— it's like a solid—

02:09:04

it's a good name. Yeah, it's a good name.

02:09:05

I'd want Joe Davis to like build my house.

02:09:08

Right.

02:09:08

But you want him to be like calling Game 7 of the World Series.

02:09:11

It probably took like 5 games for me to be like, oh, that's Joe Davis. Like, like, because the name name won't, won't jump up at you like a, like a Joe Buck. Like Buck is—

02:09:21

that's strong.

02:09:22

Sticks.

02:09:22

Buck feels like it's got a period at the end.

02:09:24

You almost for sure. Mine's like dot dot dot.

02:09:26

Yeah.

02:09:26

You're like, you might be AI.

02:09:28

I mean, you could be. How would you know?

02:09:30

Yeah.

02:09:31

How would you know?

02:09:32

Say something bad about AI.

02:09:34

Not going to do it.

02:09:35

Not going to do it.

02:09:36

Not taking the bait, boys.

02:09:37

JD Davis would have been a cool name too.

02:09:39

Oh, that's cool. That's actually like, you do like the, what, the S corp thing?

02:09:44

Yeah.

02:09:44

I think JD Davis is my thing because D is my middle name.

02:09:47

Okay.

02:09:48

Okay, yeah, there you go. You're on to something, JD Davis. So it's not too late to change.

02:09:53

No, no, definitely not.

02:09:54

Welcome to the World Series, Game 1 of the World Series with John Smoltz. I'm JD Davis.

02:09:59

Yeah, I just say it and like, oh man, don't even—

02:10:02

That was really good.

02:10:03

Thanks.

02:10:03

That's, you know, that was really good, man.

02:10:05

That's a Super Bowl voice.

02:10:07

Thanks, dude.

02:10:08

Yeah, yeah, I can hear that.

02:10:09

Super Bowl name, JD Davis. That's really good.

02:10:12

It's good. I'm gonna let that sit. Okay, see what the people think.

02:10:14

Do you have to Do you have like a voice care routine?

02:10:19

More just like an obsession. When you feel the cold coming on, it can't happen, right? So I like— I got this regimen of stuff. I don't even know what it is, but I'll get a hold of my doctor like I'm getting sick, and he's like, okay, go to the pharmacy. And I take whatever they got, giant pills. I don't know what it is, but it knocks it out. Yeah, you can't get sick, right?

02:10:39

Yeah, Big Cat has one time every year. It's usually around, I'd say, like late November, early December. Remember, after we've been, you know, in the thick of football season, there'll be one week where Big Cat's—

02:10:48

I lose my voice.

02:10:49

It goes away. It's like every year, like clockwork. It's crazy.

02:10:51

What do you do when you feel it coming on?

02:10:53

I have to like shut it down for like 2 days because I, I, you, I have in years past just tried to power through and then it just gets so bad and then everyone's like, dude, this is the worst podcast to listen to. Why are you doing this? So yeah, it's really only like, it sucks because you obviously will think about it a lot more because it's, you know, your voice is your job. But we're so stupid and we've kind of lucked into this whole thing that I have to remind myself like, oh yeah, your voice is also your job.

02:11:20

Like, you kind of need that.

02:11:21

I need that.

02:11:22

Yeah. But I mean, take a week off. You can take a vacation.

02:11:25

Yeah.

02:11:26

Not in the middle of football.

02:11:27

No, no, definitely not. All right. So, so right now you're ready. You're calling the NFL on Sundays and you have baseball playoffs coming up. Is this your— like, do you feel it in the air like this is about to turn like baseball season? I know you call the Dodgers games.

02:11:42

Yeah.

02:11:43

But can you feel it? And you're like, this is about to get real fun, which I'm sure also means very Very busy.

02:11:48

September is a crazy month where it's the overlap. Like you said, you got the NFL on Sundays, still Dodger games. So like I'll have Dodgers-Padres this week and then, you know, NFL again this weekend, some Thursday Fox baseball games. So September is crazy where it's all 3 of them together. October at least is— it doesn't usually line up where Sundays are off on baseball. So I'm all baseball through October. Yeah, this is what— it gets busy and crazy and the prep is, is a lot. But I very quickly can remind myself like, oh my God, this is exactly what I dreamt of doing. How lucky am I? So it takes like 5 seconds to go from, oh, this is a lot to this is the coolest thing ever.

02:12:29

Yeah. Did you get a— do you get a World Series ring? Are you employed by the Dodgers?

02:12:34

Uh-huh.

02:12:34

All right. So I'll cross off that Mark Walter question. You have 2 rings? That's just still clear. Got 3.

02:12:40

Got the one from 2022.

02:12:41

Oh, okay. Well, yeah.

02:12:43

20—

02:12:44

wait, 2022 or 20, 24, 25?

02:12:47

Yeah.

02:12:48

Just so you know that 2020 does not count.

02:12:51

Yeah.

02:12:51

I think at this point they'd kind of be like, yeah, no, we don't need to claim it. They'd say, because it's like, well, let me ask you a question.

02:12:58

If someone was like, hey, let me see your Dodger rings, would you lead with the COVID No.

02:13:04

Okay.

02:13:04

And how about—

02:13:05

I rest my case. You have 2 legitimate rings.

02:13:07

They're sweet too, but I've never worn them. They sit, they sit in the boxes and people like to see them when they come over to the house or whatever. I just— can you imagine me going to pick up the kids at school or whatever with those big-ass rings on my hand and somebody being like, hey, like, dang, you won a championship.

02:13:24

Yeah.

02:13:25

And I'm like, well, I talked about people winning the championship, but check me out.

02:13:30

Right. And one of these doesn't really count because—

02:13:32

yeah, the '20s.

02:13:33

Yeah.

02:13:33

Right.

02:13:33

Yeah. So you were, you were on the call in 2022 then?

02:13:38

Uh, wait, say that again.

02:13:39

You were on the call in 2022?

02:13:40

2022. Yes.

02:13:41

So the Astros-Phillies.

02:13:42

Astros-Phillies.

02:13:43

You remember the note No-hitter?

02:13:44

Yeah.

02:13:45

That was a no-hitter, right?

02:13:46

I mean, I don't— I hate to combine no-hitters.

02:13:50

Right, but how many hits did the Phillies get?

02:13:52

They got zero.

02:13:53

Oh.

02:13:54

Yeah.

02:13:54

So that's no-hitter, right?

02:13:55

It's a no-hitter. I feel like I'm not meaning to, but I'm answering somebody's argument here.

02:14:01

Yes, you are.

02:14:01

Yeah.

02:14:02

100%. It's not a real no-hitter.

02:14:03

You're good picking up on this.

02:14:04

I'm hearing, I'm hearing it's not a real no-hitter. And Max, I agree.

02:14:08

I don't like it.

02:14:08

In that call, did you say, and the Phillies getting No-hit?

02:14:11

Uh, I think if you listen to the call, I'm like, uh, yeah, that's exactly—

02:14:16

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. So now I'm gonna ask Walter a question. All right, let's go. I'm gonna agree with us.

02:14:21

You said on the call it's a no-hitter.

02:14:23

I did, yeah. I guess I lied to the world.

02:14:27

Well, no, but no, I did not lie.

02:14:29

It is a no-hitter. It's just like a stupid one.

02:14:32

Okay, okay, great. I agree.

02:14:35

Yeah, you know, awesome. No-hitter, technically, yes.

02:14:38

Uh-huh.

02:14:39

Dodgers had one in Mexico a few years ago, uh, combined no-hitter. First of all, we're like— they played in Monterrey, Mexico, and we're going to the stadium and there's guys with like machine guns and stuff as we're pulling in. We go into the booth. The booth is— it was like carpeted steps, and we sit on one carpeted step and our equipment's on the next. Just a disaster of a setup. What Yeah. And I was like, it was raining. This is so dumb. So, so I don't know what my answer is. No hitter though.

02:15:12

So dumb no hitter.

02:15:13

Dumb no hitter.

02:15:14

Okay.

02:15:14

That's fine.

02:15:14

We can— dumb no hitter.

02:15:15

I think that's the—

02:15:17

I'm cool with that too.

02:15:18

I'm okay with that.

02:15:18

Yeah.

02:15:19

All right.

02:15:19

What was, what was the most iconic October moment? The dumb no hitter or giving, giving everybody in the booth salmonella when you were carving that turkey?

02:15:27

Oh, hey. So I felt pretty good about that turkey.

02:15:32

You did a good job carving.

02:15:33

Thanks. Thanks, man.

02:15:34

But you didn't cook it, right?

02:15:35

No, I didn't cook it.

02:15:36

Yeah, a little under.

02:15:39

Well, you know, I think the pinks— the pink, I'm hoping, was just like a smoke ring kind of thing and not salmonella. Yeah, yeah, we all did survive.

02:15:51

Yeah, yeah.

02:15:52

Do you ever get— you ever tell Greg Olsen to like chill out, dude? You look like too hot sometimes.

02:15:58

Because he's like sexy hot.

02:15:59

Yeah, he's a good-looking guy. He's a good friend of ours.

02:16:01

Yeah.

02:16:02

I don't know if he gave you a scouting report for this show at all.

02:16:05

He did.

02:16:05

Yeah.

02:16:06

Okay.

02:16:06

What'd he say? He was like, those guys are also hot.

02:16:08

He, he led with sexy. That was the word he used. I was like, I've seen him. Yeah.

02:16:12

But that coat he wore, what was that last year? Was it as bad in person as it looked on TV? Because it looked so checkered.

02:16:19

It was like the pattern, it jumped off the page. He looked like a car salesman.

02:16:23

He tried to shame us after because he said his wife picked it out.

02:16:25

I was going to say, I was going to defend him.

02:16:27

We, we powered through that. We're like, all right, so your wife has bad taste. That's fine.

02:16:31

Oh, right.

02:16:31

What are you trying to do, Greg?

02:16:33

He does say though, he's like, we last week, I remember making the comment, we were at dinner the night before the game and he's like, I, I haven't put a suit on in 6 months or whatever. And so what's it going to look like? I don't know. I don't know what suit I have in my bag.

02:16:46

It was this one.

02:16:47

Yeah.

02:16:47

That's not great.

02:16:48

It was so bad.

02:16:49

That's not great.

02:16:49

So when he always shows up, do you guys have a relationship? Like he walks into the booth on game day. Can you say like, oh dude, what are you doing? Or is it more like, hey, great Greg, to see you?

02:17:00

you know, turn your suit down. Yeah, yeah, not your best one. No, I'm like— and he's so like, it's a combination, like you guys said, good-looking handsome man and the most disheveled person you've ever met. Yeah, hair is everywhere. He's like, he's like a little more put-together Chris Farley energy, but then he just does like one swipe and it's like, it's perfect.

02:17:22

That's a Greek god.

02:17:23

Yeah, first game I ever worked with him, we were in And it was, you know, you go on the air at 1 o'clock or whatever. It's 12:58:30, 12:59. He's nowhere to be found. I'm standing there wired up, ready to go on the air, like checking my hair. Like, I think it's pretty good. I hope I have a partner. And our producer, Pete Macieska, legend, you guys should have on sometime. He said, where is he? We got 90 seconds. Where is he? I'm like, I don't know. 30 seconds. Where's your partner? And I'm looking and I get— I don't see him. And Greg comes storming into the room disheveled, throws his hair like that, sits down, gives me a pound, and 3, 2, 1, bam! But there he was looking so good.

02:18:05

Yeah, pro's pro.

02:18:07

I think maybe his wife gave him that, that jacket to like take him down a couple notches, right? Like, I can't have you looking so hot on TV.

02:18:13

Yeah, get him off the set.

02:18:15

Could be it. Straight out of Shark Tales.

02:18:18

Nobody's gonna like you if you wear this.

02:18:20

You look great in that one.

02:18:21

Yeah.

02:18:22

What's the, um, can you help us understand the, uh, the art to calling a game in terms of when not to say anything? Because sometimes that's the best, when announcers just like know when to let the moment kind of be itself and let it breathe.

02:18:33

Yeah, I, I think it's a feel thing. I think it's easier to do when the team that does the big thing is at home and the crowd's going crazy. And, um, there's like the, the TV term for it is laying out. That's the, the inside baseball way of putting it. But I don't know, I, I don't have to. I think it kind of becomes innate as you do more games. You just sense that that crowd is almost like a third voice.

02:18:57

Mm-hmm.

02:18:57

Because when that crowd gets rocking, I think that we all have that feeling like this is what we love about sports, right? So to, to say anything in that moment, it's not like you have to have any kind of restraint. It just, for me, it, it feels like what you're supposed to do. Like, what am I gonna say that's better than 50,000 people losing their minds?

02:19:15

Right? Yeah. Yeah, it's a good point. Yeah.

02:19:17

I'm trying to think in terms of your iconic— you have a couple iconic. The Freddie Freeman one, right? Did you know— was it Gibby meet Freddie? Do you know right away, like, I nailed it?

02:19:31

I felt pretty good about that.

02:19:32

Yeah.

02:19:32

You have like a fist pump call.

02:19:35

What's your—

02:19:36

do you have any others that are like, I fucking nailed that?

02:19:39

Yeah, you definitely— when you, when you get one you feel like, right? The Bryce Harper home run in the NLCS in 2020.

02:19:49

What was that call?

02:19:51

Swing of his life, I said.

02:19:52

That's fucking good. That's awesome.

02:19:55

So I just like, I, I think that it's when you're doing the championship events, I think it's one thing to get the call right. But then I think there's this responsibility to, to say something that, and this is where Buck is the greatest ever to do it, he doesn't just call it and tell you what happened well. He gives it context that almost like elevates it a little bit, or at least like helps it stand the test of time. And you kind of begin to associate the moment with the call.

02:20:24

Yeah.

02:20:24

Um, so I think anytime that you can wrap in the context of what this moment means beyond just, oh, go-ahead home run for Bryce Harper or, uh, walk-off grand slam for Freddie Freeman— well, no, that's what it is, but what does it mean. So those, yeah, fist pump moments for a play-by-play guy come, I think, when you can give it that added layer of context.

02:20:44

Yeah.

02:20:44

Did you ever consider having a catchphrase?

02:20:48

No, um, because I do think that that probably keeps you from that happening some, because you're putting your thing— and I'm not against having a catchphrase, but just for me, I think if you have that thing that you're gonna slap on a moment no matter what the moment is, it keeps you from really giving it the context that it's asking for.

02:21:08

Stay fluid. You want to stay fluid. Yeah.

02:21:10

I think some— it has to be natural too. Some guys are catchphrase guys.

02:21:13

And it works.

02:21:15

Yeah.

02:21:15

Like Mike Breen, when he says bang.

02:21:16

So good.

02:21:17

It works. That's a natural extension of his personality, I think, into the game. But if you push it— can I make, maybe make like one or two suggestions for you?

02:21:25

Yeah.

02:21:26

I already got the JD Davis thing.

02:21:28

So what would JD Davis say? I think he might—

02:21:30

that's a JD guarantee.

02:21:32

I think he might say—

02:21:33

So good, bang.

02:21:34

I think you might say it's Jover. What about that? Like Grand Slam walk-off home run. It's Jover.

02:21:42

It's Jover.

02:21:42

Oh, right.

02:21:43

Yeah.

02:21:43

Yeah. For your name. That way it's like, that's a Joe call.

02:21:45

Right. Because it's got the J in it.

02:21:47

Yeah, exactly.

02:21:47

Right.

02:21:48

Now you're thinking. What about if a quarterback misses a wide open receiver? Like wide open, nobody within 5 yards of him running downfield. If he catches that, he's still running. Like, but you put the emphasis on— He's still running. Really still running. It's got legs. Like it really does.

02:22:04

And it's not only got legs, The legs are running.

02:22:07

Yeah, still, he's still running.

02:22:09

Joverthrow. Can I just start throwing J's?

02:22:11

Yeah, why not? Absolutely.

02:22:13

Yeah.

02:22:13

Think about he's still running though.

02:22:15

I think he's still running is good.

02:22:16

We've tested that.

02:22:17

We've done some focus group.

02:22:18

Okay.

02:22:19

It works.

02:22:19

It has hit critical mass. Like 5 out of 6 of the people on this podcast love it. Yeah, for sure.

02:22:27

Yeah. I'm gonna, I'm not even gonna workshop it then. I'm just gonna go with it. Thanks guys.

02:22:31

Uh, can we talk a little baseball? Because you watch, obviously you're calling the Dodgers. You've seen all these teams. Who's going to win the World Series? Are you allowed to say?

02:22:40

It should be the Dodgers, right? Yeah.

02:22:42

Yeah. They tell you what's going to happen.

02:22:44

It's just crazy. Like, you guys know baseball, especially if you get in that 3-game wildcard series.

02:22:50

Yeah.

02:22:50

Good God. It looks like they're going to avoid that. But even a 5-game short series, it takes 1 or 2 bad days and your season's over. I mean, how many times during the regular season do you see the worst team beat the best team 2 out of 3? It happens every few days.

02:23:07

Yeah.

02:23:07

So, I mean, I think, yes, do you take the Dodgers or you take the field? It's a coin flip, the injuries they're dealing with.

02:23:13

Well, yeah, what's their weakness right now? Like, the problem with the Dodgers, and I hate the Dodgers and what they've been able to do, is that they're going to get in the playoffs and they're just going to convert all of their half-injured starting pitchers who probably have won Cy Youngs in their career to explosive bullpen arms. And you're like, this is bullshit.

02:23:31

Yeah.

02:23:31

Like when, when Tyler Glasnow is coming out to pitch in the 7th inning. You're like, this isn't fair. But that's what's going to happen, right? Are they going to move some of those guys?

02:23:40

Yeah.

02:23:40

So you asked what the weakness is at this point. They are pretty hurt. Okay. They are pretty hurt at this point.

02:23:45

Oh, what a shame.

02:23:45

Position. But yeah, to your point, it's like they got the depth where if you're looking at a phase of the team that has issues, it's right-handed relief.

02:23:55

Okay.

02:23:56

But that may get covered up by the way they— like you use Tyler Glasnow as an example. Now I think that at this point, Glasnow is going to be a starter. But as you— Game 7 of the World Series last year, they all pitched. Every starter pitched. So I think they look at it as not a rotation, a 4-man rotation in the postseason. They look at it as a 13-man pitching staff, and they're gonna cover these however many games they got to play, however they need to. So yeah, it does become— at times it feels like unfair with how many good arms they have.

02:24:26

Do you have to kind of limit yourself, like how excited you sound? if the Dodgers are playing well?

02:24:32

Here's the— it's not like get less excited for the Dodgers or get more excited for the other team, because I really do. I think if you listen to Dodger games in the regular season, I just really love baseball. Yeah, I like to get excited for good plays no matter who's making them. It's more how I'm framing the information when I'm doing it for Dodger people that are listening to it every day. It's a totally different presentation of the information than it is to a national audience. So like like repositioning all the information in my head, kind of unlearning it and relearning it to present it to a national audience. That's the bigger challenge than get less excited for the Dodgers and get excited for the other team. That makes sense.

02:25:11

Yeah.

02:25:11

Now we like this guy, so feel free to talk openly with us. But like at any point during the season, you're like, all right, Smoltzy, we get it. Like teams that use too many pitchers, it's annoying how the game has changed.

02:25:24

Yeah, I give them a hard time.

02:25:25

on it.

02:25:26

Yeah, it's like, I think a few years ago, it was— everybody was kind of split, right? You had the old school people and then you had the new school analytics people. Well, I think it shifted to the point where that kind of is baseball. So there are times where I'm like, I'll kind of needle him like, John, I get it.

02:25:43

But I also like it. I like having the old school still have a voice in this because otherwise sports become almost like devoid of human like the human interaction, it becomes a spreadsheet and who has the numbers and you put it in a graph and it's like, okay, now that's the winner. Like, I want to hear the human side of it.

02:26:01

Totally. And I think that we all sort of yearn for that John Smoltz who's gonna, when he goes 7 innings, you're like, why the hell did he only go 7 innings? These days we're like, he's through 6 in a heroic effort, you know? So I think we all do yearn for the stuff that John talks about missing and that John came up doing as well as anybody. So I Yeah.

02:26:20

Do you remember the first time you had to, uh, like sit in a meeting and somebody explained the concept of having an opener to John?

02:26:26

Uh, I, it was, it's so funny you ask that. He talks about, I think it was the Brewers and the CS in '18 and Craig Counsell maneuvering the way they were against the Dodgers and how frustrated he was and seeing like Wade Miley out there to start a game. What are we doing? So yeah, no.

02:26:48

Have you, have you, have you ever asked him like, hey man, the, the ironing the shirt thing, that was real, right?

02:26:54

I haven't gone there. No.

02:26:55

You got to.

02:26:56

Yeah.

02:26:56

Yeah.

02:26:57

He denies it. The story obviously goes that he got injured because he burned himself because he was wearing a shirt and ironing it while he was wearing it, which I'll hand up. I've done that. Like, I don't, you don't press to your body, but you, you'll touch it up a little here and there.

02:27:10

I do the shoulder sometimes. Yeah.

02:27:12

Right. Yeah. So it's not something— tell him that. Come at it from that angle. Be like, John, we all do this. Like, it's not a big deal, dude. But just like, come on, be honest. You burned yourself.

02:27:20

That's the way to get guys to be honest, right? Kind of lead them into it by being like, we've all done it.

02:27:25

We all do this.

02:27:26

We all iron ourselves.

02:27:27

Yeah.

02:27:28

I think you have to just—

02:27:29

safe space.

02:27:29

Do it one day and like lightly, like maybe just burn your shoulders a little bit.

02:27:34

Yeah.

02:27:35

And then he's like, oh, what's that? Be like, I was ironing.

02:27:37

I was ironing. I'm having trouble with my iron.

02:27:40

And then just wait. Give it that pause and see what he says.

02:27:42

Yeah, right. Just hang it there.

02:27:45

Yeah, you got to do that. Do you guys have a plan beforehand what you're going to talk about in a blowup?

02:27:50

Because—

02:27:51

or just a boring game. I mean, you just called the Bears-Vikings game so bad. That was a tough one. Real tough one. That one's different though, because it was always close. So you can't— you can't do the goof around stuff. But do you have like a plan? Like, hey, when you sit down before a game, hey, if this gets out of hand, here's what we're gonna go to.

02:28:10

I think that's just like the, the far reaches of your prep from the week. Okay, you more have a plan, at least the way our crew does it. We have a plan coming in really clear what we want to establish, and then you hope the game plays along. And here's the thing, you, you establish these storylines, and then if the game follows those storylines, that's your story in the second half. If the game doesn't follow those storylines, That's your story in the second half, right? That the teams are going against what you've laid out. When the blowout happens, that's when, you know, the prep about the, the guy's grandma and, you know, his, his what he did as a kid, that's where that stuff sort of comes. That's less a plan, um, and more just kind of the fruits of the prep that you've done throughout the week. Yesterday though, like that game, I found myself like pissed off at the rain. Yeah.

02:29:01

Yeah.

02:29:02

You know, we're so excited for this game. I think everybody is to see what this is going to look like. And then you see the rain in the forecast and it's like, yeah, this is going to diminish it a little bit. But 9-3, what the heck?

02:29:14

It was a bad game. Bears played a bad game.

02:29:16

Yeah.

02:29:17

It was, it was a tough, tough watch, especially because you were, you were on the call for the one the week before, right? Panthers-Bears.

02:29:23

We were on, we had Steelers-Falcons.

02:29:27

Oh, so we're on quite a roll. So you might be the cooler.

02:29:29

It might be us.

02:29:30

Yeah.

02:29:31

Yeah.

02:29:31

Oh, the Joe Davis under? Oh yeah.

02:29:36

The Junder might be a thing.

02:29:37

I don't want it to be.

02:29:38

It'd be so much better if you were an over guy.

02:29:39

Yeah.

02:29:40

Because it goes right with the nickname and the catchphrase that we talked about.

02:29:42

We got to track this.

02:29:43

Yeah.

02:29:44

If you're the Junder, just cooling games down left and right.

02:29:48

I don't want that.

02:29:49

That's a problem, Joe.

02:29:50

Did you get, did you have to like work yourself into being excited about Cooper Rush?

02:29:54

How about this? Cooper Rush's quarterback coach when he was in high school.

02:29:59

Me.

02:30:00

Oh, let's go.

02:30:01

Wait, what?

02:30:02

Let's go.

02:30:02

You coached him?

02:30:04

Yeah.

02:30:04

So great job, he's a great quarterback.

02:30:06

Hey, thank you.

02:30:08

Oh shit.

02:30:09

So, okay, all right. Yeah, he— what, I'm like probably 4 or 5 years older. Small towns, mid-Michigan. I was the good small-town quarterback that kind of preceded him. So I was playing Division III football, he was coming up in high school at that point, starting to get recruited. And when I would come home in the summer Work them a little bit. So I say quarterback coach, we would go work out together a little bit. Yeah.

02:30:31

Yeah.

02:30:32

I mean, have you told people this?

02:30:34

Our crew knows. I think we've done a little something when we've done Cooper Rush games.

02:30:38

Yeah.

02:30:38

Yeah.

02:30:39

Show pictures of us.

02:30:41

Okay.

02:30:41

Actually, the Lansing State Journal a couple of weeks ago, my dad sent me this, just had somebody had a big passing game. And so they put out the 10 greatest passing performances in Lansing area history. Cooper's 1, some kid from Stockbridge who nobody's ever heard of is number 2, but then I've got the number 3 performance right there up against him. Sorry about it.

02:31:02

Okay.

02:31:02

That's actually, that's a very fun fact.

02:31:04

Very fun fact to see.

02:31:05

That's amazing you brought up Cooper Rush.

02:31:07

Yeah.

02:31:07

Well, I mean, we talk about him a lot. He's kind of the biggest story in the league right now.

02:31:11

Did you do any prep on Jack Strand?

02:31:15

No.

02:31:15

Oh, wow. I mean, enough to like, if the guy shows up, So do you know that he's from the jump rope capital of the world?

02:31:22

I did not know that. Where were you last week?

02:31:24

You got to get your Jack Strand going in case, because the Falcons might, if they let Jack Strand go, they might, they might become like a real team.

02:31:33

Jack Strand Cook. That's what they've been saying.

02:31:36

Yeah.

02:31:37

What about, what about Matt Stafford and maybe some of his teammates from high school? You know, can you name a single teammate of Matt Stafford's?

02:31:45

Do you guys, I don't know if you know this. I don't know if you know this, but do you know Matt Stafford and Clayton Kershaw are buddies?

02:31:52

That's not believable.

02:31:53

That's crazy.

02:31:55

Good one, JD.

02:31:56

I could picture myself as a storyteller, guys. Let me spin this yarn for you.

02:32:00

I was talking about Jake Felt. Next time you get to that conversation, instead of Jake, you should zig while everyone zags. And here's Clayton Kershaw. Ask him about Jake Felt. Jake Felt was really, he was the star that, the straw that stirred the drink on those teams. talked to, to Matt about it and he was like, nobody remembers Jake Felt. He scored 5 touchdowns, state championship.

02:32:19

Yeah, no, Matthew Stafford was like, actually Jake Felt was the best athlete. What is he doing now? And then we asked Clayton Kershaw and he was like, yeah, I remember Jake Felt.

02:32:27

So do we know what he's doing now?

02:32:28

I think he just works in Texas somewhere.

02:32:30

Okay.

02:32:30

So yeah.

02:32:31

Okay.

02:32:31

Yeah.

02:32:32

I was like, is that a dumb question? No, no, back there.

02:32:34

Listen, I, I'm telling you, like, they, they both swore by Jake Felt. So it's rare that you have 2 guys Matthew Stafford and Clayton Kershaw being like, actually, there was another guy.

02:32:44

Yeah. Stud.

02:32:44

Yeah.

02:32:45

I'm trying to get Kershaw to do TV.

02:32:47

Really?

02:32:48

I think he'd be good at it.

02:32:49

He actually came. He's doing some NBC stuff, but he's just down in the camera well for that. Kind of the third guy, the field level analyst. He came to Atlanta a few weeks ago to do a Dodger game with me and really good. It's so cool to see him because, you know, we see Kershaw, this intense guy. competitor throughout his pitching career. But now that he's off of the field, he was like, he was like a 12-year-old boy just watching his favorite sport.

02:33:17

That's awesome.

02:33:17

So cool.

02:33:18

Yeah. Do you want to hear my joke about your college?

02:33:22

Yeah.

02:33:22

Okay. What, what, what is the sound a fart makes in the bathtub?

02:33:29

Damn.

02:33:30

That's all I got for Bloyt.

02:33:31

It's pretty good.

02:33:32

Yeah.

02:33:32

Yeah.

02:33:32

You never heard That one?

02:33:34

I have not. No, but it works.

02:33:35

Yeah, it does, doesn't it?

02:33:36

Beloit.

02:33:37

Yeah, that is what it sounds like, a fart in a bathtub.

02:33:40

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

02:33:41

That's your college?

02:33:42

That's where I went.

02:33:43

That's all I got. I got pretty proud of that. So yeah, that's—

02:33:45

do you?

02:33:46

Yeah, he— that's just the only joke I got about Beloit. That's all I got.

02:33:49

That's all you need though.

02:33:50

Yeah.

02:33:50

Do they have a good broadcast?

02:33:51

That's a bad segment by me. That was— that was Beloit. No. What'd you say?

02:33:55

If they had any good broadcasting schools?

02:33:57

No, no, no, no, not at all.

02:33:58

I actually I respect the fuck out of you for not being a Syracuse nerd.

02:34:02

Thanks, man. I thought about it. I was like, but no, I'm not gonna be a Syracuse nerd.

02:34:05

I'm gonna go to Mizzou or one of those. Yeah.

02:34:08

So I first— they like, they bring all the freshmen in and then you go to your advisor. My advisor was this physics professor that had a top hat and he was a world-class trumpet player. Like, this guy's gonna teach me how to call the World Series for sure. I sit down with him and he's said, so, so tell me, takes his top hat off. Tell me, what is it you want to do when you grow up? And, you know, it's like, I want to be a play-by-play announcer. And he goes, I have no idea what that is.

02:34:38

Oh, no.

02:34:39

I'm like, oh, shit, I should have gone. I should have been a Syracuse nerd. But I think because it wasn't a broadcasting school, a small school where I could like anything I wanted to do, I could find somebody who was into helping. And me try to chase that down.

02:34:53

Yeah, that's cool because that is— you do— it does feel like Syracuse, Northwestern, Missouri, they just kind of churn out for sure everyone. And it's cool to have someone who, you know, sound of a fart in a bathtub.

02:35:04

That's right.

02:35:05

Yeah. So, so how did you get— how did you break into the business going to—

02:35:08

boy, boy.

02:35:09

Well, I told them, you guys know where I went. And they're like, oh yeah, I've heard that.

02:35:14

I heard that.

02:35:18

I knew what I wanted to do. I think that was a big part of it. So I got there and right away was doing everything I could when I did graduate, be where I think a lot of guys are a few years after they graduate. So ready to take that big job right out of college. And, you know, I— my first job was with the Montgomery Biscuits, Double-A of the Tampa Bay Rays. You guys got to get like some kind of biscuit thing in here.

02:35:43

Yeah, I've seen their hats. Their hats are great.

02:35:46

They're sweet. Right. It's— and the mascot is an actual biscuit with eyes, slab of butter for a tongue.

02:35:52

Yeah.

02:35:53

So that was a huge deal. Got that gig. I was like, I'm the voice of the biscuits. What's up? Got that right out of college. I think that, I don't know, just, just kind of having that foresight, knowing what I wanted to do to set myself up to get a gig like that right out of college, kind of the springboard to get going.

02:36:09

Yeah. Did you— were there other, other teams that made you an offer and you're like, I like what the biscuits are?

02:36:14

Yeah.

02:36:14

Yeah, right.

02:36:15

Biscuits are just too delicious to pass up.

02:36:16

That's right. It tastes way too good. Too good. I was going— so how about this? You guys are like this. I was summer before my senior year of college, Schaumburg Flyers, old— okay, Northern League team. I worked there and they were starting a new franchise, the Lake County Fielders. Kevin Costner was part owner of this team.

02:36:36

I think I vaguely remember.

02:36:38

Yeah, well, this became a whole thing. I used that summer before— I was gonna graduate in December. That was part of the deal too. I graduated early so I could be ready to take a full-season baseball job. job right away, as opposed to graduating in May, you got to wait a full year. So I used that whole 2009 summer to try and impress the ownership group with the Flyers because they were teaming up with Costner, opening up the Lake County Fielders. And I had this job landed. I was going to be the voice of the Lake County Fielders. I got the Biscuits job, so I didn't do that. Well, you fast forward to the next summer, Lake County Fielders, the franchise starts, but they don't actually get the stadium I'm not sure Costner ever really was that involved. And the broadcaster who they wound up hiring quit mid-game on the air, pissed off that they weren't paying him.

02:37:30

Wow.

02:37:31

I'm sure you can still go find the clip.

02:37:33

I love that.

02:37:33

That's a great move.

02:37:34

Yeah. They're playing and they're playing in some kind of local muni ballpark. He's sitting in the bleachers calling these games as the voice of the Fielders. And he just quit.

02:37:44

That's a power move.

02:37:45

Like, had I not gotten that Biscuits job, who knows?

02:37:48

Yeah.

02:37:48

Yeah. Shout out to Biscuits.

02:37:50

Thanks, guys.

02:37:50

Yeah.

02:37:51

Doors moment. Yeah. And so right when you start working for the Biscuits, are you already looking for your next job? Because I don't think anybody gets into calling, you know, minor league baseball as, you know, the destination or as like the end of their advancement as a play-by-play guy. So like, how quickly do you start applying for other jobs while you're working for the Biscuits?

02:38:09

Right away. I'm kind of a maniac like that. was— I went down there and did, you know, I was making $16 grand a year to these Biscuits games. And so you had to do other stuff. I was doing— there was a studio in Auburn where the Baylor pre- and postgame show was run out of. So I was the pre- and post guy for the Baylor Bears.

02:38:34

Okay.

02:38:34

That I would do during the winter. I ran camera for the local WSFA 12 morning show. That's when I got into coffee. We had a 5:00 a.m. morning show, and I was on the camera just doing this, like, just a little to the left, a little to the right, just mind-numbing stuff for 2 hours each morning doing those gigs. But also doing whatever I could to announce high school sports, build the TV reel, and make as many connections as I could. I did some games.

02:39:00

Grinding.

02:39:01

Yeah, yeah, just trying to like— but it's kind of a catch-22 as you're trying to get into TV, or at least it was then, how do you get the TV tape without showing that you can do TV? And how do you show you can do TV if you don't get the chance to do it? So like, whatever I could— these, these stupid-looking one-camera high school webcasts that I would do and turn into reels. And one thing led to another and just did 3 years in Montgomery.

02:39:29

That's awesome. The voice unlocked you. All right, well, JD, this has been Awesome. So you're JD now forever.

02:39:35

I love that.

02:39:36

Uh, Roback question. rhoback.com, promo code TAKE. I'm wearing it right now. Roback, uh, great hoodies, polos, joggers, everything. roback.com, promo code TAKE. Zach, how are we doing today, sir?

02:39:47

Zach, what's going on, man? I did have a quick question.

02:39:49

Yeah.

02:39:50

Uh, is there a— thinking back through your career, is there a call that got away that maybe you, uh, you think back and you're like, I would like to have that one back and run it again?

02:39:57

Good question.

02:39:58

So Game 7 last year. Um, I didn't like— I don't think that I missed anything or had a specific call where it was like I blew that in game 7. There's plenty of calls I've blown through the years, but game 7 was one last year where it's like, I think I came into it, it was my first game 7, and I think I made it into something bigger than— maybe not bigger than it was, but bigger than I should have, where I was like, okay, game 7, that's what I've waited my whole life And then I kind of came in gripping the wheel a little bit too tight, and then the game was what it was, which was just insane. So I had this feeling of kind of chasing my tail the whole night. Didn't feel the way you want to feel. So like Game 3 last year, 18 innings, that was so much fun because it's like World Series game. Rarely can you kind of let you— let yourself just be yourself and have fun. You had no choice but to do that in an 18-inning game. Game 7 was different. We're It's like that, oh God, just trying to hang on for dear life feeling that, you know, I would like to have back.

02:41:00

I hope to get another game 7 to try and do that a little bit differently.

02:41:06

We gotta get you another game 7.

02:41:06

Let's go. Can we make that happen? You guys are pretty, pretty powerful.

02:41:10

Yeah, we'll get you another game 7.

02:41:11

Yeah, pull some strings for sure. You got anything else, Zach?

02:41:13

Do you—

02:41:14

go ahead, Zach. Yeah, quick follow-up. Do you consider yourself a better pitmaster or broadcaster? Because I see an extensive history of barbecue online.

02:41:21

Oh, thanks, man. Oh, I'm hoping you guys will go there. I'm feeling pretty good about my cooking stuff.

02:41:30

You know, there's just no way. Absolutely no offense. There's just no way you're a better pitmaster than broadcaster. You're one of the best broadcasters, just statistically speaking, in the game, in the world. You're not one of the best pitmasters. I guarantee you, there's just no way.

02:41:45

What do you cook?

02:41:46

Come on.

02:41:47

I mean, the holy grail is turkey. Better than that one in Toronto.

02:41:52

Yeah, right.

02:41:52

So you're a brisket guy?

02:41:54

I try to be.

02:41:55

Okay, is that like Lincoln Riley brisket? Like, how—

02:41:58

I don't know about this.

02:41:58

Is he just—

02:41:59

he trying? It's not good.

02:42:00

It's a little grayish. Yeah. I mean, how long do you— how long do you smoke it for?

02:42:04

However long it takes.

02:42:06

No way.

02:42:07

Kind of the right answer.

02:42:08

Come on.

02:42:09

Yeah, come on, Joe. Zach, tell him what kind of wood.

02:42:13

I mean, there's some smoke rings on these, uh, these meats. Pretty good.

02:42:16

You're a mesquite guy?

02:42:18

I feel like that overpowers it, especially poultry. You're not doing mesquite, doesn't need that. Then it just becomes mesquite-tasting turkey. Big Green Egg is my, my go-to.

02:42:29

Okay.

02:42:31

I don't have as much time to do it these days, just 3 young kids and, you know, the work and everything. But I— if, if I screw up and say something I shouldn't say on the air and it can't And I think I'm going to open up my own deal and just do that. I just love that. That, yeah.

02:42:48

Even do your own sauce now while you're on the air and then just have it like right next to you in the background.

02:42:53

What do we call the sauce?

02:42:56

I actually don't have a name for the sauce yet, but we can think of one.

02:42:59

Yeah.

02:42:59

We can just come up with that.

02:43:01

Yeah.

02:43:01

Did you, do you, do you, last, last question. Do you, do you keep a scorecard for every baseball game? Do you do it while you're calling the game? I don't know.

02:43:09

You kind of have to though, like to be able to tell the No, I, I understand, but I would just get distracted.

02:43:16

I don't know. I don't know if I could write and talk.

02:43:18

Have you ever kept score for—

02:43:20

Yes.

02:43:20

Oh, keeping score is the best.

02:43:21

I'm not saying it's not. I'm saying his ability to stay, to like write down exactly what's happening while also talking. I'm too stupid to write and talk at the same time.

02:43:31

I bet you would find though that it would be like, I can't picture the other way.

02:43:36

Yeah.

02:43:36

Where it's like, I can't picture being able to tell you what's happened in the game.

02:43:39

Okay.

02:43:39

Yeah. I guess there's a really good way to like detail and follow it along, but I just, yeah, I don't know. Speaking on, on a mic while, while writing is just advanced shit.

02:43:50

It's a lot of graduate level stuff. Yeah.

02:43:52

What about drinking a beer? Joe Buck told us he drank a beer one time.

02:43:55

Hey, how about this? Brady Quinn, who, when I grew up as a quarterback Notre Dame fan wanting to be the next Brady Quinn, and then Brady became my partner at Fox. You talk about— you think Greg's handsome?

02:44:08

Yeah, no, he's great.

02:44:09

What are we doing? Yeah, Brady, we would— his first couple years doing games, he'd be really good once we got into the game, but he was really tense and uptight first couple series. So we would put a little beer— we'd open up one beer, half a beer here, half a beer there, unmarked cups. And not to like get drunk while we're doing the game, but more just to put him in that mindset of like, we're 2 dudes Yeah. At the bar watching the game. And he got so much better, not because we were feeling anything, but because he just, he kind of had that idea like, all right, let's chill.

02:44:45

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. Max, I'm stuck on— you can't like— you'll flip, you'll start flipping a coin. If I put anything around you while we're doing the show, you get distracted.

02:44:56

But keeping score to a baseball game, especially if you do it every single time you call a baseball game, it's like there's no thought that goes into it.

02:45:03

I guess I'm just saying like the actual Writing would just, would fuck me up.

02:45:06

But it's like a dot.

02:45:07

I know, I know.

02:45:08

And I'm also not like writing a novel or anything.

02:45:11

Yeah, no, I know.

02:45:11

You're just filling it in.

02:45:13

Yeah.

02:45:13

It's really not that impressive what I do.

02:45:16

I'm impressed.

02:45:16

I'm impressed.

02:45:16

Thanks, man. I can't do 2 things at the same time.

02:45:18

It does probably help you focus on the game too.

02:45:20

For sure.

02:45:21

If you write it, it's like taking notes in class. It's like you remember it more if you, if you jot it down.

02:45:25

Yeah.

02:45:25

And if, if, you know, Trey Turner comes up and I need to tell you about the day Trey Turner had. I now have, but I haven't written this stuff down exactly when and what.

02:45:35

Do you write in like pinch hitters and changes in the—

02:45:38

Yeah.

02:45:38

That's where I'd get screwed up. That's where I would be starting to write names down of like who's pinch hitting or who's moving to, you know, wherever they're moving in the field. That would fuck me up.

02:45:48

You got to come hang out in the booth during a game sometime. Sit right there.

02:45:52

I like that.

02:45:53

Let's go.

02:45:53

Yeah.

02:45:54

Teach you how to do that.

02:45:55

Cubs might make a run. We'll see.

02:45:56

What do you What do you think?

02:45:58

Pitching is so bad. And Bregman, the freakiest injury ever.

02:46:02

Yeah.

02:46:02

So, and he's so important, but chip in the chair when it comes to, when it comes to the baseball playoffs, just get in the dance.

02:46:09

Yeah.

02:46:10

No doubt.

02:46:10

You know, it's like guys can get hot. You never know. And PCA has been electric.

02:46:14

So, so good.

02:46:15

Yeah. Yeah.

02:46:16

That was a lot of fun. Anytime you're around, stop on by. And we're excited to watch some baseball with you this October.

02:46:23

Well, we, we would both win. The Cubs make a little run. Yeah, I'll be in Chicago.

02:46:27

Yep.

02:46:28

Come back, talk some more baseball, some high school football. Yeah, let's go.

02:46:31

Yeah, love it. Thanks, man.

02:46:32

Thank you for having me.

02:46:35

All right, Hank, guys, oh, we should have mentioned, by the way, shout out to the Atlanta Falcons for saving us because Michael Penix is back. Yep.

02:47:35

Love that.

02:47:36

That is so huge.

02:47:37

Love that. Because if it wasn't going to be him, I saw that there was one quarterback out there that is advocating for them to get that job.

02:47:44

Yeah.

02:47:44

We've got at least one volunteer. Do you know who that quarterback is?

02:47:47

Who?

02:47:48

I'll just read the tweet. You guess who this is from. When Cooper Rush and Jack Strand are stinking up in Atlanta, it makes zero sense that quarterbacks like Cam Newton, Jimmy Garoppolo, Ryan Tannehill, and myself aren't the veteran presence in the locker room to stabilize teams when their quarterback goes down.

02:48:04

Kaepernick.

02:48:05

Nope.

02:48:06

Chad Kelly.

02:48:07

RG3.

02:48:08

Oh.

02:48:08

RG3. So RG3 is available for the Falcons job. Okay, if you're interested.

02:48:12

Were you laughing at Memes? Max dropped his ring under the table during the Lucy ad read, and then his entire ass was out.

02:48:20

But I said before I went under there, I was like, my ass is going to be out. Don't look at it.

02:48:24

Oh, you give a warning.

02:48:25

You just tattle on his ass.

02:48:26

Well, I just looked at Memes, was like smirking. I was like, what's going on?

02:48:30

Yeah. And I tripped a little bit coming back. Zach, to my defense, the ring could have been further under this table.

02:48:37

Yeah, we need better discipline in the booth to turn the mic saw it and let us know when something—

02:48:41

no, but it was made. It was made.

02:48:42

I get that.

02:48:44

I get that.

02:48:46

But it drives me nuts when you guys are just laughing. Like, say it. Let's have— let's laugh together.

02:48:51

I have some breaking news.

02:48:52

Yeah, breaking news.

02:48:59

Aaron Judge is likely out for the Wild Card Series. Oh, fuck. That's the correct response.

02:49:05

Yeah.

02:49:06

Hank, you hate that, right?

02:49:08

That sucks.

02:49:09

You always want to play the best, right?

02:49:11

Hank is— you root against injuries harder than any man.

02:49:14

So hard.

02:49:15

Yeah. I mean, like, this is—

02:49:16

this is—

02:49:17

you play all these games to make it to the playoffs and then, yeah, go up against a guy, Aaron Judge. Although it might be better for the Yankees. He's terrible in the playoffs.

02:49:27

Good point.

02:49:27

Ewing Theory. I— has he been— he's had a couple really good playoffs.

02:49:32

He had a walk-off home run.

02:49:35

I think as a whole, he hasn't been great.

02:49:39

I— but no, but do I not remember last time he had that?

02:49:43

What, the World Series when he just— yes, lost them the World Series.

02:49:47

He had that good opening round game last year. And then I might—

02:49:52

everybody was like, yeah, I'm remembering a specific playoffs where he is hitting like .700 and no one else on the team was good.

02:49:58

.236 career playoff.

02:50:00

Right.

02:50:01

But is there one recently he's been better?

02:50:03

.822 opening round. OPS is pretty fine.

02:50:07

.421 batting average.

02:50:08

That's 2018.

02:50:09

Okay, maybe that's what I'm thinking about.

02:50:11

.500 in last year.

02:50:12

Oh, okay.

02:50:13

Maybe that's last year.

02:50:14

Yeah, last year he was awesome.

02:50:16

13 for 26 last year.

02:50:18

Yeah.

02:50:18

Yeah.

02:50:18

Yeah.

02:50:19

Okay. But yes, I know he has still not gotten his pinstripes. And he won't this year if he doesn't play.

02:50:28

So he just had—

02:50:29

or what if the— if If the, if the Yankees win the World Series without Aaron Judge, does Aaron Judge get pinstripes?

02:50:35

Because he was—

02:50:35

No, that's the funniest possible outcome.

02:50:37

Yeah, but it also like you'd have to give him pinstripes for being like, thanks for sitting out knowing that we're better without you.

02:50:41

Like Hank said, I think like horizontal pinstripes.

02:50:44

Yeah.

02:50:46

All right.

02:50:46

3 long ones. I have a question on how I should handle myself as the first and only female working in a city's public service department. Blue collar job, 26 men in my Road work, garbage service, and parks maintenance. I can joke and bust balls like the guys. I don't get offended until you talk about my work. 90% of the guys are great, 10% of the guys have no use for me. Now I want to go and just tell those douchebags off, but I don't want to go to their level. What are some things I could or should do to basically tell them to fuck off and worry about their lazy, sorry asses? I'm not sure if this is what you want, but love y'all guys. You make me laugh.

02:51:23

laugh a lot. That was a serious question.

02:51:26

I feel like that's almost a better question for Jerry. I also followed with Jerry.

02:51:30

Yeah, that was, uh, I mean, it's fair. Like, she— you would— like, busting balls is one thing, but being like, you're bad at your job, that would, that would piss you off.

02:51:38

Yeah. You know, um, I don't know. I think— I feel like you have to just— it's not fair, but do their job better than they can. Yeah. And then they'll get naturally embarrassed.

02:51:47

Show them up.

02:51:48

Yeah.

02:51:49

Be like, hey, do you need me to help you with this?

02:51:50

Yeah.

02:51:51

Oh, Maybe get— maybe do one of those, you know, those like weird challenges where a woman, a woman could do it but a man can't, like lifting up a chair to their chest because we just have different hip muscles. Do one of those, make them look really, really weak. I think it's like when you put your head on a wall and then you lift the chair to your—

02:52:12

Yeah, you can't do that. Yes, you can't, you can't get on your hands and knees and then take your hands away and put your head on the ground. Yeah. And keeping your hands off the ground, lift your head up.

02:52:22

Do one of those, embarrass the boys.

02:52:23

Yeah. Or like, what's another one of those challenges? Ask for directions somewhere. Mm-hmm.

02:52:30

Oh, also, you could just say if one of them gets upset about something, just be like, what are you on, your period? That always plays.

02:52:38

Yeah, that'll be a good one.

02:52:38

Yeah.

02:52:39

Fight fire with fire.

02:52:41

My boyfriend recently got a job coaching the JV football team in his old high school. I was excited for him, but now it has consumed his life. Every moment of the day, even at work and especially at home, he's watching film on 13 and 14-year-olds playing football. He can't even hold regular conversations in public without bringing up how he coaches JV football team. How do I go about this?

02:53:00

I mean, that's— this guy rocks.

02:53:03

Yeah, what's the problem?

02:53:04

This guy, this is a football guy.

02:53:06

It sounds like you're just not ready to be a football wife.

02:53:08

It sounds like she's not a football guy.

02:53:10

Like, hey, listen, you might have to move That's just part of the job.

02:53:14

But then he might like really, really— yeah, you mean like pack up?

02:53:18

Yeah.

02:53:18

Yeah. Get the kids out of school.

02:53:20

No, I'm saying, yeah, like you might— he might get a better job. Here's what you got to do. You got to be the football coach at home while he's a football coach for these 13 and 14-year-old boys.

02:53:30

Get a whistle.

02:53:31

You got to call the plays at home.

02:53:32

Yeah. Say, hey, dinner, 6:30 PM sharp.

02:53:35

You're the boss.

02:53:35

And if you're late, if you're 5 minutes early, you're actually 10 minutes late. It's late.

02:53:39

Yeah, just let them have fun. Sounds like a good hobby.

02:53:43

It sounds like there's a lot of women out there that I think would love for their husbands to be passionate and have a hobby that takes them out of the house every night. Makes them excited.

02:53:53

Yeah.

02:53:53

My fiancé and his friends keep planning yearly trips to Key West, Florida during the Masters weekend. While they're there, they like to go see this band called the Dirtbags, D-U-R-T-B-A-G-S, who apparently play every night and take requests. Now my fiancée is trying to convince me to get the Dirtbags for our wedding, whatever the cost. Yeah, I'm not sure they will match the vibes for all our guests, but he seems dead set that this will make our wedding. What are my options for persuading him to go with a traditional DJ?

02:54:20

No.

02:54:21

And leaving the Dirtbags in Key West?

02:54:24

Live bands are awesome.

02:54:25

Yes, at weddings. And this sounds like—

02:54:27

but like flying in a— sounds like it's just like a cover band at a bar.

02:54:31

Yeah, but the dirtbags have a special place in their heart.

02:54:34

Yeah.

02:54:35

His— just his heart.

02:54:36

He takes requests, though. The dirtbags take requests.

02:54:39

Yeah.

02:54:40

So you can play anything.

02:54:41

It's funny that this sounds like a guy that said this is the one thing that he'll work on at the wedding.

02:54:45

Yeah.

02:54:45

Like he's going to dedicate as much time as you are to like every other tiny detail with like what kind of chairs you're going to get, what kind of flowers. He's like, I'll handle the live music, honey. And he just has one band in his mind.

02:54:57

It also sounds like something—

02:54:59

02:54:59

Yeah.

02:55:00

And had an incredible time at this bar. Him and the boys.

02:55:03

love the Dirtbags. And he's like, oh, the boys will love this.

02:55:08

Yeah.

02:55:09

But she's like, I've never fucking seen this band.

02:55:10

And I'm looking at the Dirtbags. They're cool.

02:55:12

Do you think that they have like an alter ego for formal occasions, for weddings?

02:55:16

One of them has a mohawk.

02:55:17

Or maybe it's not Dirtbags.

02:55:18

Yeah.

02:55:19

Yeah. Change, change your band name to something else. The Wedding Band.

02:55:24

The Wedding Dirtbags.

02:55:26

The Solo Key. I love these guys.

02:55:27

Yeah.

02:55:28

You got to have the Dirtbags. Bags. I'm sold. Maybe that's a perfect band for your wedding.

02:55:34

Yeah. I like that their font is the Beatles font, except it's the Dirtbags.

02:55:39

Oh, they perform at Dirty Harry's. D-U-R-T-Y Harry's. So like, they're, they're the in-house band.

02:55:45

Love that.

02:55:45

Dirty Harry's.

02:55:46

Maybe if they're listening to us right now, they— we can work out some sort of discount.

02:55:50

Yeah.

02:55:51

In addition for one more promotion on Part of My Take.

02:55:54

Mm-hmm.

02:55:55

Dirtbags, go play this guy's wedding. All right, numbers.

02:56:01

3. 1.

02:56:03

8.

02:56:06

Oh, the boys. Hank.

02:56:09

I'm waiting for Hank.

02:56:10

I'm waiting for you.

02:56:11

Why are you waiting for me? 69.

02:56:15

I'll pour cold.

02:56:18

Mims.

02:56:19

02:56:27

02:56:28

I'll go 8. Mariota.

02:56:31

Mariota.

02:56:32

69.

02:56:33

69's been taken.

02:56:34

15.

02:56:35

Sorry, Colton.

02:56:36

39.

02:56:37

What'd you take?

02:56:39

No, I don't know.

02:56:41

15. 86 for Shane. 50 for Jacob, 39 for Colton, 1 for Max.

02:56:50

Colton, now give it a rest. 6.5 for Victor, 8 for—

02:56:57

oh, 83, 83, 83, 83, 83. Last one, last one of the day. Who's gonna get it?

02:57:11

Maybe 3rd 39.

02:57:13

Be a real shame if it was 69. Come on, come on, come on.

02:57:24

What'd you get me?

02:57:25

18?

02:57:26

18.

02:57:27

Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning for sure. It's 100%. 88.

02:57:37

88.

02:57:37

I've been picking— I've been picking 88 almost like every day.

02:57:40

Yeah, maybe you should have picked it.

02:57:40

No, I should have picked it today.

02:57:43

I shouldn't have tried to steal Colton Sombra.

02:57:45

Yeah, maybe you shouldn't try that.

02:57:46

Honestly, yeah.

02:57:47

Have you thought about that? Yeah, that's karma.

02:57:48

Have you ever thought about it?

02:57:49

Did you think about that? I'm thinking about that right now, and you make a great point. Shouldn't have done it. My bad. Happy birthday to John Harbaugh. Happy birthday to Marty Schottenheimer. Happy birthday to Marvin Lewis, Chris Johnson. Happy birthday to Joba Chamberlain, Jason Alexander, Julius Caesar, Kublai Khan, William Wallace. Historically very important birthday today.
