We have a major development right now. It's official. Democrats have confirmed that they are going to move forward with the impeachment of Christie Noem, and they're not waiting until after November, because according to Congressman Robert Garcia, Republicans behind the scenes are frustrated with Noem and clearly do not want her to continue serving as the head of the Department of Homeland Security. Now, whether or not they will vote to impeach is a question for another day. But the beginnings of the possibility of removing Noem have begun. Garcia tells me that he has spoken the chairman or the Democratic lead on the Judiciary Committee, Jamie Raskin, and they are beginning to the process of impeaching Christie Nome. That's going to take some time. It doesn't happen overnight. But there is mass anger right now within folks on Capitol Hill. It comes as there are new questions raised about Donald Trump's fitness to serve as President of the United States. I have the latest right now. Make sure to like, comment, share, and subscribe. People need to see this interview with Congress and Robert Garcia because that has some big exclusive news. I spoke with Congressman Robert Garcia today, but this is important for you to know because during the press conference, during Caroline Levis' press conference today, she essentially said everything that happens with the Department of Homeland Security is under Christie Noem's purview. This is going to be important for our conversation with Congressman Garcia because she's making clear that everything, everything is done by Christie Noem. She oversees the entire Department of Homeland Security, all of immigration enforcement that's taking place across the country, as well as FEMA. It comes as Donald Trump is trying to dispel rumors about his health concerns. Only problem, his interview with the New York magazine, which was designed to dispel these rumors, actually only made them worse. Because now you have the reporter, look at this interaction, the reporter, this is from Ben Terrace, My father had one problem, Trump said. He started getting, What did they call it? He then pointed to his forehead and looked to his press secretary, Caroline Levet, for the word that escaped him. Alzheimer's, Levet said. Like an Alzheimer's thing, Trump said. Well, I don't have it. New questions are being raised this afternoon following that interaction.

00:02:11

Now, I spoke with Congressman Robert Garcia. He is the lead on the Oversight Committee. He's the Democrat that is responsible for oversight, for making sure that administration officials are held accountable. He said, Point blank, we're going to impeach Christie, though. It is going to happen, and there is significant support to do it. I want you to watch this interview. It just It's just happened. It's exclusive. It's breaking. Make sure to like, comment, share, and subscribe. The more you like, the more this gets out there. If you want to support my work, subscribe to my sub stack. Click the link below. Here is my interview with congressman Robert Garcia. Super excited this afternoon to be joined by congressman Robert Garcia, who's the lead Democrat on the House Oversight Committee. Now, congressman Oversight is the name of the game right now, and I just want to get your thoughts and takeaways from this past weekend. What can Congress do to ensure that there is some accountability, there is some oversight following murder of Alex Pretty?

00:03:01

There's three things that I think are important right now. I think one is we have to begin impeachment hearings on Christie Noem. We have to impeach Christie Noem. She should be nowhere near leading anything. She's a disgrace, and her actions are monstrous, and she should be held accountable for those. We should be abolishing ICE as an agency. It cannot be reformed. These agents cannot be retrained. They're killing Americans on our streets in cities across this country. We've got to focus on the agency itself. Then last is as the Senate begins to take debate on DHS funding, on the broader funding for DHS, we've got to also insert demands. The Senate Democrats have an opportunity to demand the unmasking of federal agents, to demand body cameras, to demand independent investigations. All those actions at this moment, I think, are really important. I hope people understand that Donald Trump is building his own personal, national, militarized police force. He's going to use it not just on immigration raids. He will use it to ensure that elections are covered in a way where he wants certain outcomes. These are the things we have to think about, the possibilities that are very real.

00:04:19

We've got to be prepared to push back really strongly at this moment.

00:04:22

I want to talk about each of those things in order. Starting with Nome, have you heard any behind the scenes from Republicans of any for possibly impeaching them because you need some of their votes right now.

00:04:33

I think what you're hearing more from is some Republicans beginning to think that Nome shouldn't be in that position, which is actually a good first step. I think you're hearing some grumblings. Look, I think we're beginning to hear also that there's folks within the administration that are unhappy with Noam. Look, I don't trust those folks regardless of their opinion on her. She never should have been confirmed. She never should have gotten the vote from any Democrat for confirmation, of course. What's most important is is Democrats have to start impeachment proceedings in our committees through investigations and that work. I've been talking to Jamie Raskin very closely in judiciary on this issue and others. We've got to begin that immediately. I think some Republicans are beginning to build a spine, but we'll see in the weeks ahead.

00:05:19

When you talk about abolishing ICE, what do you say to someone who says that's a toxic political talking point?

00:05:25

Ice is murdering our neighbors on our streets. I want to remind folks that ICE is not an agency that existed for a very long period of time. The functions of the modern ICE agency today, they've been created and developed over the last couple of decades, and especially in just the last year, their budget has skyrocketed to become the single largest law enforcement agency in the United States, larger than the FBI, because of Donald Trump's budgeting. He is creating this to be a paramilitary police force that he controls. It can't be reformed. There are functions within the agency that used to be done by other parts of the federal government. We got to return back to those days because what's happening today cannot continue.

00:06:15

I do want to ask you because I think there have been reporting about how people within DHS are upset about Nome, like you mentioned earlier. Have you heard anything from whistleblowers? Has anyone come forward to the committee at all over the past couple of weeks and said, Listen, I work within the federal government. This is just not right.

00:06:33

We're constantly hearing from whistleblowers. Again, if there are those that work in DHS and want to reach out to our whistleblower hotline at Oversight on our website, please do so. But we continue to hear from folks, and we are investigating, particularly some corruption issues at DHS, which shouldn't surprise anyone, and that will be a part of the impeachment proceedings against Noem.

00:06:55

Now, I do want to shift gears just a bit because today is day 38 of the Justice Department violation the Epstein Files Transparency Act. That's a story that, unfortunately, is losing coverage because of everything else we're seeing. Could you just talk a little bit about where we are regarding the Epstein files today?

00:07:10

This is why we want to hold Pam Bondi in contempt of Congress. It is outrageous that We are now beyond, I mean, over a month beyond the deadline, as we know, of getting all the files released to the public. We have 1% of the files that have been released. Why is Donald Trump covering up for pedophiles? Why is Pam Bondi trying to protect pedophiles? Why is no one calling out Donald Trump and Pam Bondi and all the powerful men that rape and abuse children and women? Donald Trump might think that we've forgotten or somehow we can't advocate for multiple things at once. But we are still working on this investigation, and more files will be released, more information will come forward. Our investigation on the Epstein piece has just started, and we're going to continue it regardless of Donald Trump's other actions.

00:08:00

Now, before I let you go, I do just want one broad overall question, which is, what do you say to the American person, anyone across the country who just says, I'm giving up. I can't take this anymore. I don't want to keep watching the news. I don't want to keep seeing all these horrors. I feel like I can't do anything anymore.

00:08:17

I would say to find hope in the protesters on the ground, the peaceful protests that are happening across the country, that they've inspired me, they should inspire all of us, that we can't turn this tide. We can win these elections. We can win majorities back, win the presidency, restore decency and humanity. When we win, we can do it in a way we're actually going to push to help working people. I hope that our party has also learned lessons We have to be a party of working class, middle class families. I think we're building that. I hope that people find some inspiration in what's happening right now in all of our American cities and seeing those folks marching and protesting every single day.

00:08:59

Congressman, thanks so much for joining me.

00:09:01

Thank you.
