We have breaking news right now. The first domino has officially fallen. Greg Bovino, the Border Patrol chairman, chief of sorts, who had been likened to Nazis by German media. He's been demoted and he is set to resign from office, retire from duty as the first domino falls. And he may not be the last, based on what I'm hearing and based on what we're understanding. Kristi Noem, the Department of Homeland Security secretary, is on the chopping block this evening. Corey Lewandowski, her top deputy, the former Trump campaign chairman back in 2016, is on the chopping block this evening. A major development right now as Donald Trump begins what is looking to be a purge of his top Homeland Security staffers after a weekend in which Trump was furious over how the Department of Homeland Security handled the murder of Alex Preddy. We're the number four ranked podcast on Apple Music or an Apple podcast right now, beating none other than Joe Rogan.
We're beating every single other political podcast, every single other news podcast, except to and we're doing it together. But this is the big news right now. Greg Bovino has officially been ousted from his role of commander at large. And Kristi Noem and Corey Lewandowski could be next to lose their job. Bovino has been removed from his role, will return to his former job in El Centro, California, where he's expected to retire soon. This is the clearest sign yet that the Trump administration is reconsidering its most aggressive tactics. Because Greg Bovino, as you may know, is. Is the person behind some of Trump's most aggressive tactics. This. This is Greg Bovino. Here's the thing, folks. Greg Bovino was likened by German media to a Nazi because of the way that he dresses, but also because of what he has been doing right now on the ground in Minneapolis and states across the country. Wherever Bovino went, chaos followed. And tonight, the Trump administration is saying enough is enough. Why? Because it's seeing poll numbers and it's seeing poll numbers that are very bad for this administration. These poll numbers are not good at all. Donald Trump is underwater on all categories related to immigration, and it's because of this man right here.
He is out of his job tonight. He will go back to just being another Customs and Border Patrol agent in California, and then he is expected to retire unceremoniously in the next several weeks. And months as he really goes to live life in oblivion. But here's the thing, folks. Many Democratic lawmakers in states across the country have promised to preserve any and all evidence of crimes committed by Bovino or the agents that he commandeered. And so while he may resign or he will retire in disgrace, the crimes that he engaged in and committed against the American people, the evidence, that evidence will be preserved for a very long time. And it comes right now as well. Bovino is out. ICE remains on the ground. Here is Congressman Ro Khanna from Minnesota. I want you to take a listen to what he has to say right now.
Trump has now pretty much sent a letter to Tim Waltz that is coming across as hostage, taking it away. He basically says if they find a way to, they will find a way to cooperate and pull back CBP if he turns over voting records, cooperates with ice. All of these things seem like non starters to me. What are your thoughts on all that?
Well, it's unacceptable and he needs to come here and talk to people. They just want their lives back. Minnesotans are good people. They're hurting, they're grieving. The small businesses are closed. There's a welcoming community. They don't want federal agents on the streets shooting Americans, detaining immigrants with violating their human rights. We need the ICE agents out. We need to restore the community here. And I am going to be introducing a 10 point plan, no new funding for ICE, repeal the 75 billion supplemental ties and, and tear down this agency and put an agency under justice with oversight. So I'm just here first and foremost to thank people in Minnesota. They are courageous, they are good people, they're loving people. They've been out here in the freezing cold. You know how cold it is. And someone told me it's too cold to snow. I hadn't heard that before. But you know, they're out here in freezing weather with the risk of ICE officers coming. And they're out here standing up not for themselves but for immigrant communities.
Look at the.
He's right. And honestly, I'm gonna be honest with you. I think more members of Congress should be on the ground in Minnesota. Right. It shouldn't just be Ro Khanna going on the ground. There should be a groundswell of members of Congress on the ground talking to folks on the ground. Now you mentioned something specific about this letter. This letter, voter rolls. A lot of people were concerned. I want you to hear directly from the Minnesota Secretary of State about what Pam Bondi is actually requesting in these voter rolls.
See the voter rolls? What kind of information do they contain? What do you think Bondi is after? Are they going after undocumented immigrants who would vote? Although I would guess there aren't that many of them, if any.
Well, here's what they want. They don't just want the public stuff, which anyone can get, name, address, voting history, stuff like that. What they want is very personal, private, sensitive data on millions of people, namely Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, military service history, where applicable. And this is already in litigation, like we're in court on this right now. They've asked for this information from dozens of states. The vast majority, like Minnesota, have said no. There are multiple lawsuits going on, including in Minnesota right now. So that's what make this particularly puzzling. Why they want it? That's a good question. That's sort of key to the legal arguments here. Our legal position all along before this weekend, ransom note from the attorney general was that state and federal law don't permit them to get this data. And so what?
She's basically, he's right. State and federal law don't permit it. And take a listen to what he had to say about whether he's going to give over this data to Pam.
Bondi was going to be my last question for you, sir, because, I mean, I guess theoretically you could understand the connection between what's going on in the streets and the sanctuary city policy of Minneapolis. I mean, just broadly speaking. But the idea that they want the voter roll information and they're asking for that after the death of Alex Preddy, I mean, what was it like to see that letter?
I have to say, it was just really deeply disturbing. Literally hours after the second, let's not forget, second killing of an American citizen in the city of Minneapolis by ICE agents. Literally within hours, there's this term sheet, this ransom note, in essence, saying that among the conditions, or certainly implying that among the conditions for restoration of order and security and peace in Minnesota were this thing, which had never been discussed before, is already the subject of ongoing litigation with our office and many other states. So I don't know who was thinking what, within hours of a tragic killing like that, putting this in a demand list.
Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon, a Democrat. Thank you so much for your time, sir.
He's right. He's right. And listen, people, people are upset this evening. People are furious. And while what we're seeing right now is the direct result of that anger, Trump has been forced to demote one of his top guys. He did that because you spoke up, because you spoke out without you would never have happened. So keep speaking up. Keep speaking out. Make sure to like, comment, share and subscribe.
