We have significant news this morning. Ice is in hot water with the federal district court in the district of Minnesota. As a chief judge, says that he has had enough of ICE violating court orders in Minneapolis and has ordered acting director Todd Lyons to appear in federal court this week to face possible contempt proceedings and to explain why the court should not hold him in contempt of court. It comes as the Trump administration continues to actively seek an off-ramp following the murder of Alex Pretty. They have sidelined Greg Bovino. They have suspended Bovino's access to his social media. And well, now, now they are trying to essentially shift the public narrative because behind the scenes, Donald Trump was upset at the callous nature of the press conferences held by Bovino and Christie Noem, his Homeland Security Secretary, and she may very well be on the chopping block next. Let's just jump right in. I want to show you what happened this morning because it is It's significant, folks. Take a look. So a federal court in Minnesota said, On January 14, 2026, the court granted petitioners habeas petition and ordered, among other things, that respondents provide petitioners a bond hearing under eight US Code, Section 1226A, within seven days of the date of this order. That petitioner must immediately be released from detention. On January 23rd, petitioners counsel notified the court that he had not received a bond hearing, and he had remained behind bars. This is one of dozens of court orders with which respondents have failed to comply in recent weeks. The practical consequence of respondents failure to comply has almost always been significant hardship to aliens, many of whom have who lawfully lived and worked in the United States for years and done absolutely nothing wrong. The detention of an alien is extended, or an alien who should remain in Minnesota to flown to Texas, or an alien has been flown to Texas is released there and told to figure out a way to get home. Let me give you a little backstory here. This is a case in which a court in Minnesota, two weeks ago said, ICE, you have to give this undocumented migrant that you arrested a bond hearing.
You have to give them due process. And well, ICE didn't give them due process. Then remember, you had a ICE agent detain a two-year-old girl, and a court said, No, you have to release that girl immediately. They didn't release her. They flew her to Texas. You have the five-year-old boy that was detained. Anyways, lots of violations of court orders. Right now, the court says, You know what? I've had enough. This court has been extremely patient with ICE, even though ICE decided to send thousands of agents to Minnesota to detain aliens without making any provision for dealing with the hundreds of habeas petitions and other lawsuits they were sure to deal with. Respondents have continually assured the court that they recognize their obligation to comply with court orders, and they have taken steps to ensure that those orders will be honored. Unfortunately, the violations continue. As a result, the court's patience is at an end. The court will order Todd Lyons, the acting director of ICE, to appear personally before the court and show cause why he should not be held in contempt of court. The court acknowledges that ordering the head of a federal agency to personally appear is an extraordinary step.
But the extent of ICE's violation of court orders is likewise extraordinary, and lesser measures have been tried and failed. So this court's not messing around. Ice, the director of ICE, is going to be hauled to Minnesota, where he will have to testify and explain, Hey, here's why we're violating court orders. If I had to guess, you may have contemproseedings this weekend. And it comes as the tide is shifting. This is a statement from John Federman, Pennsylvania Senator, centrist Democrat, arguably sometimes a Republican. He says that, President Trump, I make a direct appeal to immediately fire Secretary Noem. Americans have died. She is betraying DHS's core mission and trashing her border security legacy. Do not make the mistake President Biden made for not firing a grossly incompetent DHS Secretary. Of course, he had to throw him President Biden there. But this is the strongest statement yet from someone like Federman. It comes as the public narrative around Alex Freddie's murder has completely shifted. I mean, right now, there's very few people who are on the administration side, so much so that you have people like Federman coming out and saying, Trump, this is enough. Now, I do want you to listen because I was watching this interview with Kaitlyn Collins.
This is a veteran who Alex Pradee cared for. It was absolutely heartbreaking. I want you to watch this interview with Kaitlyn Collins, this two-minute clip, because I think people need to see the human Alex Pradee was.
To see the video, it was heartbreaking to know when I found out it was him. What was worse was listening to Christie Noem talk about him the way she did and not even seeing the videos yet and not knowing exactly what had happened. I think that hurt worse than anything. And I can't imagine his parents listening to that or hearing what she had said about him. I think that hurt worse than anything. Calling him a domestic terrorist, I think that hurt worse than anything.
Yeah, just the man that you describe, holding your hand and rushing to tell you that what you had feared had happened to you had not happened. I mean, that must not line up at all with what you heard from the administration calling him not only a domestic terrorist. I mean, they also called him an assassin and said he wanted to massacre law enforcement.
They didn't even have the facts yet. And you can see in the video that they disarmed him even before they shot him 10 times. And it just broke my heart to see what they did to him, and he did not deserve it. And And I can't imagine. My heart goes out to his parents and his family and to the many nurses that worked with I am. There were so many people that brought flowers today for the nurses in the ICU, and I'm so grateful that there are so many people out there that are Morning, the morning, and other nurses, too. There were many tea light candles that they had put out on the floor of the hallway leading up to the doors to the ICU that I walked into today. And it was so special that they memorialize him the way they had- That is from a veteran who Alex Pretty cared for.
That is who Alex Pretty was. And I think that we have to always keep his memory in our thoughts, always keep Renee Goods' memory in our thoughts, always keep the memory of any person who was killed at the hands of an ICE agent in our thoughts. And I will continue to provide you updates as we get more information. But today is shaping up to be a very bad day for ICE. Spread the word, like, comment, share, and subscribe.
