00:02:19

Mike. Tank.

00:02:21

Yeah.

00:02:22

Martin. Mike Tay.

00:02:24

Yeah.

00:02:25

Part of my take.

00:02:28

Yeah. Part of my take. Welcome to Part of my take presented by DraftKings. The crown is yours. Today is Wednesday, January 21st, and the Indiana Hoosiers are national champions of the college football world. Let me just say it again because it is still so crazy. The Indiana Hoosiers are national champions of the college football world. Pft. It's the craziest story. It's. Well, let's first talk about the game. What a game. We, we. We deserve this. We haven't Had a national championship. That was one score. And I think the last one was the two a game.

00:03:08

Yeah.

00:03:08

So it'd been a long time. It had been blowouts. This game was tight. It looked like Miami was dead in the first half. They come roaring back. You have like big time plays. The back shoulder throw to Charlie Becker over and over was just unguardable. Fernando Mendoza calling his own number with the. With the goal line run. It was awesome.

00:03:28

It was a great game. It was an awesome game. You're right. Miami did look dead in the first half. The offense wasn't doing jack. And then the second half came out and Mark Fletcher kind of took over for a little bit. The offensive line started blocking people. And the. The Miami defense also played really well. Like the defensive line. The first half wasn't exactly a great half for Indiana either. Miami's defensive line was just beating the. Out of him some point. Sometimes to the point of. We're not sure if that was legal or not.

00:03:53

Yeah.

00:03:53

But they didn't call it. So I guess it is legal that.

00:03:56

Fernando Mendoza might be one of the toughest guy. I'm the biggest Fernando Mendoza guy now because he is just so tough.

00:04:02

And.

00:04:03

And the spin zone on that is Fernando Mendoza got to show that he can take a beating. Yeah. Which he will likely have to do as a Las Vegas Raiders quarterback next year.

00:04:11

What do you say? He can take shots from the front and the back.

00:04:14

Shots from the front and the back. Shout out to Bella Danger, Miami super fan that was in the crowd last night.

00:04:18

Ye up. She was. She looked a little distraught after the game.

00:04:21

She was upset. I actually had an idea last night. You know the show. Heated rivalry. Yeah. We're all big fans. They should do one of those shows. But it should be about college football. Super fans like that. Like maybe a Bella Danger and Mike Pence at the game last night together. Like I. It's a Romeo and Juliet type situation.

00:04:39

The full. The full Miami. By the way. The full Miami fan like it. The sideline experience is so funny because you had a Bella Danger. You had Michael Irvin. Who. I still don't know how he got the. Like, I understand how he got the access, but he was coaching the guys.

00:04:55

Yeah.

00:04:55

During the game and then posting the clips. You had Ray Lewis tell Carson Beck before the final drive. I'm gonna kill you if you throw an interception. So we haven't seen Carson Beck since. And then you had one of my favorite pictures. Malachi. Tony being consoled by Ed Reed after the game. Ed Reed's wearing The big giant hat.

00:05:12

The funny hat. Yeah.

00:05:13

And he's wearing it backwards just so Miami.

00:05:15

Yeah, it was, it was very Miami. I, I think Michael Irvin's job is just be Michael I.R. irvin. He is the executive vice president of being Michael Irvin.

00:05:23

Yeah.

00:05:23

For the Miami Hurricanes. I, I, It's a situation where you have Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Michael Irvin. They want to be on the sidelines. And I simply don't think that Miami has enough coaches and security personnel to keep them off the sidelines.

00:05:37

Correct.

00:05:37

It's easier just to invite them in all the way.

00:05:39

Sure. We'd rather keep them close than have them do things in the shadows behind their backs. I thought that, yeah. In the second half, Miami got the ground game going. Fletcher is awesome. I've loved watching Fletcher this entire year. He's going to be back next year, and I think the Hurricanes are going to have another great team.

00:05:56

And Malachi Tony, he, Malachi Tony is so electric to watch because you can watch a game where Malachi Tony's, you know, in the game. And you could see Indiana was very, very focused. And Indiana was so good defensively. They don't make a lot of mistakes. They were so focused on any time Malachi Tony touched the ball. They had guys there right away. And the defensive coordinator afterwards said, you can't stop him. You're just hoping that you have people there to tackle him right away. And you just know he's one of those guys. When you're watching him play, you're like, he's going to break one eventually. He's going to do something eventually. And then he did. He scored a touchdown. But my by Indiana's resolved special teams, that punt, you know, the punt block, that was play the game. And then Fernando Mendoza, keeper, Indiana was just the.

00:06:40

Going for it there, too.

00:06:41

Yeah, I like to, I like to call to go for it. Yeah, the, the balls on Signetti go quarterback draw. They hadn't run Mendoza really all night. And to have him do that, that play when I watched, because there's so many different parts of what Mendoza does on that 4th and 5 that it was like the Vince McMahon meme in real life where he's just progressively getting more and more excited watching something. It's like, oh, the juke. That's nice. Oh, the spin. The truck stick. That's nice.

00:07:08

Yep.

00:07:08

The spin move. Oh, my God. And then the dive into the end zone. It was like just an incredible sequence for Mendoza. And it was a play that will make you, even if you're not An Indiana. If you're an Indiana fan, that is. That is the best thing that you've ever seen in your entire life.

00:07:22

Yep.

00:07:22

And you probably won't bar and every Indiana bar, like, yeah, yeah. Hung as big and framed as you could possibly get it.

00:07:28

It's going to be. It's going to be seared into your brain forever. And it's very rare that you get that type of moment if you're a fan of a team. And even as somebody who's not a fan of Indiana, watching that, I'm never going to forget watching that play.

00:07:40

Oh, yeah.

00:07:41

It was so incredible to see.

00:07:42

It was so incredible. And then. And then Miami had a shot at the end, which I, you know, Carson Beck, Miami had a great season. Carson Beck, their three losses. And, you know, I think Carson Beck's one of those guys that I. We've seen a lot of them in college football. We don't know what's going to be make of him in NFL. I think he's an okay quarterback, but not, you know, he's been in these. He's an okay quarterback.

00:08:04

The national champion.

00:08:06

He's an okay quarterback. I.

00:08:08

There's a stat. Do you see the stat?

00:08:09

Yeah. He, he. The three losses for Miami this year.

00:08:12

I think it's. I think like he has six losses in his college career. Four of them came on an interception when they had a chance to win the game.

00:08:20

Yeah. So he lost by 3 to SMU this year.

00:08:22

Stats Guy.

00:08:23

Interception in overtime, lost by 3 to Louisville, interception to end it. Lost by 6 to Indiana, interception to end it. It was you and I. Actually. It's crazy it sounds. Because I think there was some people who were debating Signetti's call to then kick a field goal at the end of the game to go up 6 instead of trying to end the game right there. I had no problem with it because you're basically saying Carson Beck has to go the entire length of the field. And I don't know if he can and he couldn't.

00:08:49

I had no problem with it because Signetti made the call. And Signetti's always right. I think at this point we have to all agree that Signetti, whatever he does for the rest of his career, whatever moves he makes in game, in the portal, in recruiting, you name it, he's right. He's just right about everything.

00:09:03

He's right about everything.

00:09:04

Just accept that fact now, or else you can just fight about it and be mad at yourself later. I saw a crazy stat, Hank. You'll. You'll appreciate this. Since you're a stats guy now. Indiana didn't lose a single fumble over its last 15 games. 15 game streak. No fumbles lost. That's 1047 plays that they ran.

00:09:26

What?

00:09:26

I'm just kidding.

00:09:27

Oh, yeah, they, they, they, they lost a fumble in the, in the first game.

00:09:31

That was a fake buzzer.

00:09:32

This fake buzzer. They, they turned fumbles off. They turned fumbles, turn fumbles off for the season.

00:09:37

So since 2004, there hasn't been a single team that's gone 12 or more consecutive games without losing. In the end it did for 15 games. Again, 1047 plays, no lost fumbles. That's pretty incredible right there.

00:09:50

It's, it's, the whole thing is just nuts. It, it defies logic. I think that we, we aren't talking enough. I know that people, you know, there's been a lot of talk about, hey, Indiana, this is the craziest story in sports. Definitely the craziest story in college football. But I, we're not even saying it enough. Like it's, it's, it's so mind boggling.

00:10:08

Yeah.

00:10:09

That Kurt Signetti was able to do this in two years. The only analogies that I could come up with took a lot longer and they were Bobby Bowden at fsu. Because Florida State, before Bobby Bowden showed up, was actually going to get rid of their football program. They were a women's college for a long time. He, he basically made that program as Bobby Bowden. And the other one would be Jim Calhoun at Connecticut. They were under.500 for their entire history. He comes again though. It takes over a decade.

00:10:36

Yeah.

00:10:37

Wins multiple national championships. Kurt Signetti did. Those two guys would be the closest analogies. Kurt Signetti did it in two years.

00:10:43

Yeah.

00:10:44

Well, Brad Stevens a Butler.

00:10:45

Brad Stevens. Butler's a pretty good one. Yeah. But he didn't win at all. No.

00:10:49

Right.

00:10:49

Jim Calhoun and Bobby Bowden won it all.

00:10:51

Yeah.

00:10:52

Here's just, here's just so we could talk about big picture. How crazy is. But this just in this season, because this is, this is what I think. Indiana was so dominant at the end of the year that it was a kind of a foregone conclusion. They were going to win it all.

00:11:05

It's kind of funny. It was like the. Will the, the plucky underdogs from Miami be able to take down the juggernauts from Indiana?

00:11:12

Right. But before the season, they were 151 to 150 to 1 to win the College Football Playoff. They obviously had a great year last Year. But they played two big time teams in Notre Dame and Ohio State and weren't very competitive. So everyone had their doubts. They're a really good team, but they can't win it all. So 150 to 1, if you were looking at similar odds right now, and this is to put it in perspective, it'd be the Marlins to win this upcoming World Series. It'd be Nick Bonito to win the super bowl mvp. Oh, it would be the Suns to win the NBA Finals.

00:11:45

Yeah.

00:11:45

Ghana to win the World Cup.

00:11:48

Well, they're going to beat the US in the knockout state.

00:11:50

Yeah. And Utah State to win March Madness.

00:11:53

I mean, Nick Bonito sounds like that's.

00:11:55

A tasty one, but it's crazy. And Indiana has been playing football since 1899. Indiana has six total bowl victories in the history of their program and half of those have come in the last 19 days. They won a bowl in 1979, they won a bowl game in 1988, they won a bowl game in 1991. And then since January 1st, they've won three more. It's nuts. They were the losing his school in history in college football. And Kurt Signetti showed up and he just did it.

00:12:28

Yeah. I mean a lot of credit to Signetti. I also think Mendoza, what he did in these playoffs was, was incredible. Absolutely nuts. Like he, he was by far. He was the best player you can make arguments about, you know, Malachi, Tony, obviously when he had the ball in his hands, that guy is hard to tackle. But what Mendoza did for the, for the Indiana Hoosiers is far and away the most impressive performance, I think. And he's, he's every bit deserving of the Heisman Trophy.

00:12:52

Yep.

00:12:53

He showed that. You know, we, we got to see. There was some, some debate beforehand about who should win. Some called it a lackluster year in terms of stats and all that. But what he did in the playoffs and especially what he did on that fourth and five, that is just, it's a moment. It's a moment of college football that we're going to remember for the rest of our lives. And I think to the Signetti factor in all this, I think it's the best thing to ever happen to college football. And I also think it's the meanest thing.

00:13:20

Oh yeah.

00:13:20

To ever happen to college football. I agree with all of that because the expectations now could not be higher for the. No offense, the Arizona's and the Marylands of the world.

00:13:29

I mean it's, you can go even a little higher than that. I'm watching this and saying I've, I've. For my, you know, since I went to college, I said I love watching University of Wisconsin play football. I'm very happy when they win 10 games, when they go to a Rose bowl, all these things. I understood where the University of Wisconsin was, was in the pecking order and the fact that a college football playoff berth is there. Winning a national title is probably never going to happen because you don't win a national title unless you have an inordinate amount of five star and four star recruits. And what Indiana did is said everyone can win a national title, but actually not really because you don't have Kurt Signetti.

00:14:10

And it was kind of nice when, when you had the Nick Sabins of the world running the show and every other fan base was kind of kept in line by that.

00:14:17

Yeah.

00:14:17

And they're like, yeah, well we're not, we're not Alabama, we're not Georgia, we're not Ohio State. We really don't have a chance to do anything.

00:14:25

Yeah.

00:14:26

And then all of a sudden the nil, which interestingly enough, it doesn't, it doesn't sound like Indiana. I don't think all the figures are public, but Signetti implied after the fact that their nil budget was not what people thought that it was.

00:14:38

It was, it was still significant. It wasn't, it wasn't like they just went and bought. It wasn't maybe what a Texas Tech did this this year.

00:14:45

Yeah.

00:14:45

So. But it was still significant. So you can't say that they didn't have very strong alumni support.

00:14:50

Yeah, the, the, the largest living alumni base in the United States is what they always throw in living in there.

00:14:56

And you could see when they, when these, the prices for the game and everything.

00:15:00

Yeah. So this was. Indiana obviously went 16 and oh, first time it's been done since Yale in 19. Or excuse me, 18. 1894. Yale went 16 and oh as well.

00:15:12

That's a long time. And but you back to your point, it is kind of mean because there is a small sliver of hope for basically every team in college football right now where like if Indiana can do it literally again, just to reiterate the losing his program in the history of college football, until Kurt Signetti showed up, they had never won 10 games. And then he does it back to back years and wins a national title, everyone can say, hey, we have a shot. But you really don't because like I said, Kurt Signetti might be a one of one type of guy.

00:15:45

He might be One of one. And last night, I want to know how many drinks Mark Cuban had with Kurt Signetti. Because if Signetti was smart and who knows how long he's going to stick around a coach, it would be very. It'd be hilarious if he just retired right now and then made everybody, like, ask him to come back every single year.

00:16:01

He alluded to it. He said he needed the money.

00:16:03

Yeah.

00:16:03

He's gonna be the greatest story ever if I retire, but I need the money.

00:16:06

I think that he kind of should walk away. Yeah. But. But what he should have done last night is talked to Mark Cuban, who's at the game, cornered him, had like, 12 to 20 drinks with him, and just made Cuban open up the biggest checkbook of all time and fund the nil in. In perpetuity for the next, like, 20 years. He's like, yeah, okay, I'll put me down for 50 mil a year. Because Mark Cuban in that instance was so happy, probably so drunk, and one of the richest people in the entire country. You could. You could just keep this train rolling for forever.

00:16:39

At that point, I want to know how much Mark Cuban gave to this team, because I feel, listen, we like Mark Cuban, but I feel like he might. I feel like he might not have given all that much this year.

00:16:48

That's what I'm saying.

00:16:49

Yeah. Yeah. I'm saying, like, he's just getting richest guy. Everyone's like, well, they have Mark Cuban. Yeah, I'd like to know. But here's the thing with the nil stuff. It doesn't matter if you don't get the right guys. That's what Kurt Signetti has done at an elite level is his talent evaluation is so far ahead of everyone. Yeah. That you could have $50 million. That doesn't mean you're going to win a national title if you pick the wrong guys. If you pick the pieces that don't fit together.

00:17:15

Yeah.

00:17:16

So that's where Kurt Signetti has done an incredible job. And just so. So to put it in perspective, because this now is the list, and it's pretty crazy. Kurt Signetti at Indiana in the two years. So this is all the accomplishments they've done in two years. Two years. First 10 win season in program history. First 11 win season in program history. First 12 win season in program history. First 13 win season 14 win season 15 winning season 16 win season all in program history. First undefeated season in program history. First top five matchup in programs history. First win over the number one team in program history. First time being the number one team in program history. First Heisman in the program history. First time beating Ohio State in 37 years. First time winning the conference outright in 80 years. First playoff appearance in program history. First playoff win in program history. First bowl win in 35 years. First rose bowl win in program history. First time beating Alabama in program history. First Peach bowl win in program history. 272 record in that time span. Best in the country. And those two losses were the two teams that played for last year's national championship.

00:18:21

And then, of course, first national championship in program history. The first ever or the first, first ever champion since 1996. Florida. It's insane. That's all the things he did in the last 18 months.

00:18:34

That's a great run.

00:18:35

It's an insane. Like, he's just, he just keeps stacking it up. It's basically like playing college football on, on freshman mode and just getting your war chest just every time it pops up, oh, you got another trophy. Oh, you got another trophy. Oh, you got another trophy.

00:18:49

It's also so mean. It's also so mean for everybody else. It's like we just need. We need our Kurt Signetti.

00:18:55

And, and, and one of my favorite Kirk Signetti subplots that that happened was his daughter's tweet from 2019 after he won with. With JMU went Reviral where she said, wins first D1 playoff game, scores 66 points, improves the 12 and 1. And it's a text that he sent, she sent to her dad saying, are you happy? And he said, no.

00:19:18

Yep.

00:19:18

And then she updated it today after winning the national title and said, this has gone re viral. The tweet of mine from 2019 has resurfaced randomly. Everyone is wondering if you're happy now. So are you happy? And he said, yes. Yeah, he finally did it. He finally smiled.

00:19:33

He.

00:19:33

He, he achieved happiness.

00:19:34

He smiled several times. Maybe not. He didn't smile during that punt block recover for like the most surprising play of the game, maybe the biggest swing of the game. Kamara blocked the punt, recovered in the end zone. Miami goes up or Indiana goes up. Two scores at that point.

00:19:49

Right?

00:19:50

And he wasn't even surprised. He wasn't phased by that. But he did smile last night. He smiled a lot. He was very happy. The JMU angle of it for me, because a lot of people are like, oh, you must not be that happy for Kurt Signetti because he left you. Now he's Kurt Signetti as we all know him. My, my honest feelings watching it are, I'm so happy for the Guy. I'm really happy for the guy. And it was a small part of it. Maybe it just stood out to me after the game. But the guys were. They were crowded around the championship trophy and when they touched it for the first time, it was five JMU players that touched it. And the five guys that, that contributed a lot to this Indiana team. Same five memes. Put that down. Same five might be the Indiana guys from jmu. It was very cool to see that Fisher, Surat, Pons, Black and Kamara and Signetti playing such a big part.

00:20:41

Yeah.

00:20:41

In such an incredible story.

00:20:43

And shout out. Our guy Mike Kiddick. And you got a shout out after the game from the offensive line being like, hey, last year, culture wise, Signetti shows up with a bunch of JMU guys and Katic made it a point that we got to make sure we have a cohesive locker room and you know, a mash of a bunch of people. And he got, you know, guys were shouting him out last night being like, hey, you. You built a lot of this culture of two teams kind of coming together and achieving this goal. It's a very cool moment for him.

00:21:11

It's like, remember the Titans, except it's like group of five guys and then power four guys coming together in the locker room.

00:21:17

Yeah.

00:21:17

What a touching story.

00:21:18

Yeah.

00:21:18

No, I, I did think at one point last night after I saw that picture them, and I thought to myself, like, how did these guys not just win every single game at jmu? And I thought, oh, yeah, the one, the one game that they lost. How big of a mush am I that the only game I went to.

00:21:34

Yeah, they.

00:21:35

My. My losing energy was so powerful that it, it made these national champion juggernauts lose at home to App State.

00:21:43

Yeah.

00:21:44

Tough break.

00:21:44

You did it.

00:21:45

I did it.

00:21:46

But yeah, you're the Signetti stopper.

00:21:48

I am. It's a, It's a great story, though. I, I do think it's the most incredible story for college football maybe ever that we've ever had.

00:21:55

And you said it. The best hire of ever.

00:21:57

The best hire. Yeah. Think. Think about the hire. I think the one that I brought up last time we talked about Michelangelo. He's the one that painted the Sistine Chapel, right?

00:22:06

Yeah.

00:22:07

But it took him eight years. Yeah, it took Signetti too, too. So I think best Oppenheimer.

00:22:12

I'm a while to build that bomb.

00:22:13

Yeah, that was good hire. A four year project. Yeah. He got results, but then he built that bomb. But then the seat got pretty hot on Oppenheimer afterwards Big time. Once Korea started to go. It's a. What have you done for me lately?

00:22:23

Yeah, I saw that movie. The black and white was flash or. No, that was flash forward.

00:22:27

Flash forward.

00:22:28

Yeah.

00:22:28

I think. I think Kurt Signetti is the best person to be hired for any job ever. The only one that you could maybe make an argument right now would be the athletic director at Indiana.

00:22:37

Yeah.

00:22:38

When you hired him, Scott Dawson. Yeah, he's the one that hired Kurt Signetti. So really, he. He get. He might get that.

00:22:46

And he said that he, you know, saw a little Bobby Knight in him. And now the history books are perfect. That the last undefeated season in college football is the Indiana Hoosiers. And the last undisputed championship in college basketball is The Indiana Hoosiers.

00:23:03

50 years apart.

00:23:04

50 years apart.

00:23:05

Every 50 years, Indiana takes over the world.

00:23:07

Yeah.

00:23:07

And they also have a great chant.

00:23:09

Who, who, who, who?

00:23:10

Shirts.

00:23:11

And they also have the boys banners on the wall. Shout out those guys. Those guys have, you know that video. This is Indiana. Yeah. We do it big.

00:23:19

And the Fernando song is just.

00:23:21

Oh, Fernando. I mean, ABBA rocks. We all know ABBA rocks. But, yeah, Fernando Mendoza is. He's awesome. I'm a huge, huge fan of the toughness. I was just dorky.

00:23:32

I was disappointed last night.

00:23:34

Why?

00:23:35

He dropped a hard F bomb.

00:23:37

Yeah.

00:23:37

Hard F bomb on tv. He let it slip.

00:23:40

Yeah.

00:23:40

I was. I was fine with it for now.

00:23:41

Give us a synergy.

00:23:43

Yeah, he hit us with a synergy. Did he say amalgamation last night? He might have it.

00:23:46

He also was. He was with Scott Van Pelt, and he was talking about mentors and who he talks to. And he said that Scott had been queued up to ask him about Tim Tebow, and he just kept on calling him Mr. Tebow. He's like. And I called Mr. Tebow today, and he told me about the game, and Scott was like, you can call him Tim. He's like, all right, Tim. He's just. He's just in a cynical, terrible world. He's a. Seems like just a great dude.

00:24:10

But I also think that if. If you look at how he prepares and how he practices football, he's probably a complete psychopath.

00:24:17

Oh, yeah. No, he was talking about stoicism. That. It's just. The only thing that matters is the moment you're in right this second.

00:24:22

Yeah, he's. He's definitely a psychopath, but he's. He's the nicest psychopath that you'll ever meet.

00:24:27

Yeah. Hey, do you guys want to go fingers up for A second. I was thinking about this last night and I'm not going to take credit for this because I went, I did some digging. I was watching the pregame. And everyone besides McAfee picked Miami, including Nick Saban, who didn't only just pick Miami, but he put on the hat. And I know Nick Saban is Mario Cristobal. They have a relationship too. But Kurt Signetti was the recruiting director and wide receiver coach for Nick Saban when he first got to Alabama in 2007 for the. He was there for three years. And I was like, huh, that's weird. He doesn't really talk about Signetti that you don't see a lot of, like, Signetti, Saban talk. It seems a little forced. Why is that? What's going on here? So I went and did some digging and this was someone else's theory. I have two, actually, two theories, but this is someone else's theory. Is there a chance that Nick Saban knew back in 2007 that Kurt Signetti was a one of one type of coach and specifically did not promote him to OC because he didn't want him to become the best college football coach in America?

00:25:39

I always thought that they were so, so much alike that they might not have gotten along well.

00:25:45

So how it went was Nick Saban hires him. He does a great job as wide receivers coach and recruiting director, finding great talent. I think Julio Jones was part of it, like a lot of great players. And Nick Saban then hires, I think, I can't remember. I think it was Major Applewhite or someone. And then Jim McIlwain for OC and Kurt Signetti basically said, this guy's never going to promote me to oc, so I have to go start from the bottom in D2 and work my way up. Did Nick Saban specifically not promote Kurt Signetti? Because he's like, hey, if this guy gets a head coaching job, he's going to be known as the greatest head coach of all time. Not me. Because winning a national championship in Indiana is like probably worth four at Alabama.

00:26:30

Yeah.

00:26:30

So if he wins one more, he already is past.

00:26:32

Nick Saban almost doubled him. If he wins one more, also the.

00:26:37

Minor one, people will say, Kurt Signetti, Signetti, Nick Saban coaching tree. It's actually reverse because Nick Saban was on Frank Signetti's staff at West Virginia, Kurt's dad. So Nick Saban is in the Signetti coaching tree. So Nick Saban's been trying to keep the world from Kurt Signetti for all these years and finally he's popped off. That's why he put on the Miami hat. I think he was rooting for Miami because he didn't want, he didn't want the world to know that he had tried to stop. He basically was like, hey, I'm not going to give this guy OC job. He's by the time he gets to the Division 1 and, and gets to a power forward program, he's going to be in his 60s, which is what happened. How could he possibly catch all my records by the time he's in his 60s? Just something to think about. That's his, that's his brother. Frank Signetti. Jr's his brother.

00:27:30

It is Frank Signetti.

00:27:32

If you senior was a coach at West Virginia when Nick Saban was a DB's coach in 1978. 79. So he is. Nick Saban is part of the Signetti coaching trade.

00:27:43

Yeah. It's interesting because I hadn't really thought about why he didn't promote him. I always thought it was because they were so much alike that they must not get along.

00:27:50

No, I think there was. I, I've talked to, I've, I've at least not fact checked but talked to some people who are in the know of like how, how all these dynamics work. And Nick Saban was, and you can't really fault Nick Saban for this. He was, he was more into hiring younger OCs.

00:28:04

Yeah.

00:28:04

Kurt Signetti was already in his 50s when he was at Alabama, but he quickly realized, hey, I'm doing a really good job and I'm not getting the OC job. I got to get out of here.

00:28:13

Yeah.

00:28:14

And then he bet on himself. So you kept him from us for a long time, Nick Saban. But now he's here and if he wins three national titles at Alabama, I would. You'd have to start making the argument he's the best college coach of all time. You also have. What if he goes and wins the super bowl too for. With the Dolphins or the Steelers? Yeah.

00:28:31

No, he's not leaving.

00:28:32

No, he's not.

00:28:32

He said I'm a college coach. He's not that.

00:28:34

Was he also getting paid like I think he, I think with the bonuses he made 14 and a half million this year.

00:28:41

Yep. And he's got a contract. That means that they have to renegotiate.

00:28:45

So that was the other thing. In talking to some of some, some sources, let's say, I guess all these guys. This is such a racket. The college, the college football world, in the coaching world all These guys have contracts where they have clauses that are linked to each other. Yeah. So if Lane Kiffin gets a raise, Kurt Signetti gets a raise. Yeah.

00:29:04

Based on his performance as a coach.

00:29:06

No, but there's also specific ones. Like, if this specific guy gets a raise, I get a raise.

00:29:11

That's.

00:29:11

So they all just keep getting raises on top of each other.

00:29:14

That's so awesome.

00:29:15

Yeah. But, yeah, Kurt Signetti, I mean, that's. I'm happy the world knows of him. He is just a football guy through and through. The scowl, the snarl. He just loves. He's. He's a little off. And I say that in, like, endearing way. It's kind of a Harbaugh off. Well, it's like a good off.

00:29:31

The great irony about Signetti is that, yeah, he does seem like the grumpiest old man coach of all time, and I'm sure that he is. But then when he does the sideline interviews, he's like. He snaps out of it.

00:29:41

Yeah.

00:29:41

And he becomes, like, uncharacteristically warm and. And open to answering questions thoughtfully and truthfully.

00:29:47

Yeah.

00:29:47

And then he gets back into grumpy old coach mode. Mode. Maybe he just likes Holly Row a lot. I don't know, maybe. Maybe he. She reminds him of a sister or something, but he just like, he. He flips it on and off. And he's definitely an awesome football mind, obviously a great motivator. He's the best coach in college football.

00:30:04

And I think it's that talent recruiting, too, that's just. That doesn't get talked about enough with him, where he's just finding talent, finding talent.

00:30:10

And it's not. Obviously every team tries to find talent, overlooked guys, and it's really hard to do. If you look at the history of college football, the teams that win, they have the most five star recruits. And the guys that aren't five star, guess what? They've got, like, they're going too deep on four stars and three stars and the depth that they have is incredible. He is finding great players that will buy in to what he's doing and then taking them along for the ride and winning with it. And it's. It's absolutely incredible. I'm very happy for. For Hoosier fans out there.

00:30:41

Yeah.

00:30:42

This is. It's just the best story ever.

00:30:43

There might be a football school now. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Kurt Signetti had. He was. He had a hand in Julio Jones, in Mark Ingram. He was. Because he was the recruit when. When he was a recruiting director when Saban started Alabama went on to win, obviously, six national titles. Like, got that thing rolling.

00:31:00

I did look up Yale's schedule in 1894. So they went 16 and, oh, guess how many points Yale allowed that year?

00:31:08

12.

00:31:08

I was gonna say 22.

00:31:10

They allowed 13 points.

00:31:13

Okay.

00:31:13

But it seems like the offensive line might have. Might have been a problem for Yale because they had two games where they gave up four points, so.

00:31:21

Oh, they beat that might have been intentional safeties.

00:31:24

They might have been intentional safeties. But it looks like, yeah, they had. They had a game where they gave up four points on October 10th, 1894. And then later on the second to last game, November 24th, right before Thanksgiving, they're playing Harvard. They won 12 to 4. So they gave up. Yeah, they gave up four safeties that year. Not great. Oh, no. And then the other, the other game where they gave up points, that was at Army. They won 12 to 5. So they gave up five safeties that year.

00:31:51

Wow.

00:31:51

That's an issue.

00:31:52

That is an issue. I would be remiss to say that Big Ten owns college football world. Third in a row. I think it's the first time in, like, since like the 40s. And the fact they did it with three unique national titles, you know, Michigan, Ohio State, and then Indiana. The thought did cross my mind last night that maybe this is just how the universe is going to work and we're just going to go down the line of Big Ten schools and everyone gets a turn. Yeah, probably not going to happen. Also, probably not the best. Watch if you're a Penn State or like, Oregon fan, because you've spent years being like, our turns coming. Our turns coming. And then the Indiana in the same conference, like, no, actually, it's our turn.

00:32:33

Yeah, probably Penn State. That was a. That was a tough one. I wonder how many times.

00:32:36

Yeah.

00:32:37

Penn State has beaten Indiana since their last national championship.

00:32:41

Yeah, the. The. You can live with the Michigan and Ohio states of the world, but then when you see Indiana, if you're Penn State, you're like, wait, what the fuck?

00:32:48

Bad for Notre Dame.

00:32:49

Too bad for Notre Dame.

00:32:50

Notre Dame's watching this. Like, we weren't. Well, that. No, they can just be like, if we were in the playoff, we would have won.

00:32:55

Yeah. Marcus Freeman did a pretty good job on the. Also Notre Dame can say because people were replaying CJ's car. Wait, is that his name? Yeah. Wait, no. Who's their quarterback's name? I already forgot. Yeah, yeah. C.J. carr. C.J. carr, in the first game of the season, ran an Almost identical QB draw.

00:33:16

Oh. So they.

00:33:16

So Notre Dame technically won the national title. They stole it because they gave it to Indiana.

00:33:20

I thought, by the way. Yeah. You mentioned it earlier, but those, the back shoulder throws that he threw, that was. I mean, people aren't going to remember it as much as that quarterback draw.

00:33:30

No.

00:33:30

But without that play. Yeah, the draw doesn't happen.

00:33:33

And they did it a couple times. Charlie Becker, like, that is a, a perfect pass, perfect catch. Cannot guard that. Yeah, it was insane to watch. Yeah, he's. Yeah, it was crazy.

00:33:44

He didn't play. Charlie Becker didn't play until the Penn State game.

00:33:47

Yeah. Right.

00:33:48

And then once he played in that Penn State game and basically won him that game. He was like one of the best receivers in America for the rest of the year. He's the only. He was the only receiver that didn't get. Get brought in by Signetti. And Signetti just asked him to stay.

00:34:00

Yeah.

00:34:01

And now he's just going to be. He's just going to be the best receiver in college football.

00:34:05

Yeah. The narrative nowhere. The story I made up in my head about Charlie Becker is that Signetti told everybody that was a wide receiver. Get in the portal. Get out of here. And then Becker was the only one that like fought back against him. It was like, no senior was like, that's an order. Get in the portal. He's like, no, sir, I won't. I won't leave. And then he went back and forth four times and he's like, fine. That was a test. You passed. You can be a Hoosier.

00:34:28

He's. It was incredible to watch. Incredible to watch. What a season.

00:34:32

Do you see the fight after the game?

00:34:34

Yeah. What. What happened there?

00:34:36

So shoot. I forget who was the guy on Indiana, but it was Fletcher on Miami. They said he threw a punch. It looked more like it was an open handed slap to the side of his head. Okay, I'm fine with it. I'm fine with the slap. I was less impressed with the guy from Indiana who then immediately tried to call his teammates over for backup and then ran away after it was over. I like, I like, I didn't have any problem with Mark Fletcher doing that.

00:35:01

Yeah.

00:35:01

Because he was also the first guy to congratulate Mendoza and it didn't seem like he was just mad at Indiana. I think something might have been.

00:35:07

Something might have been said. Yeah. Also maybe Zach, take this down because we're going to, you know, prep for the takeies. We have a taking nominee that will revisit in the summer. But Colin Coward last year tweeted, the entire playoff is experimental. Things will change. Potential reseeding after round one. It may expand to 14 games. Change is inevitable. But let's make one non negotiable rule. Indiana can never be invited again. Whoops.

00:35:36

Nice job.

00:35:38

Indiana broke a lot of people's brains. Yeah. It took a long time. Like, I think there's still brains that are broken. I think. I think Fine Bomb's brain is still broken because the sport has always been run by blue bloods. And then Indiana came and crashed the party and did it in dominant fashion.

00:35:53

Well, Fine Bomb had. He had a dog in the fight. He's just. He's a pro. SEC mouthpiece.

00:35:58

Yeah.

00:35:58

That's the role that he has to play.

00:35:59

Yes.

00:36:00

But, yeah, I mean, Signetti is a rare example of a guy that came and talking the most shit. Oh. And then doubled backing it up. Talk of all time.

00:36:09

I win. Google me. And then. Which was cocky as it could be, and then came in and said, purdue sucks. And it was like, well, yeah, Purdue kind of does suck at football. Like, they have a good basketball team. And. And that's also your rival, so you know you're gonna say it, but then he's like, no, no. And Michigan sucks, and so does Ohio State. They all suck.

00:36:28

I think we probably talked about that in part of my take. It'd be interesting to see what our reaction was to in real time. I think we said that we liked it.

00:36:35

Yeah. Like, but we also didn't take it seriously because it's like, oh, that's just coach speak. You know, like a guy. New guy comes, they go on the basketball court after they get announced as new football coach. They say, hey, we're gonna beat our rival. Yeah, okay. Yeah, that. That makes sense. You're not gonna beat Michigan. No, he did.

00:36:52

Yeah.

00:36:53

He's bigger than Purdue sucks, but so does Michigan and Ohio State. I love it, man.

00:36:58

He's bigger than the bulletin board.

00:36:59

It's so much joy. Like, these are the joyful sports moments where it's just like, this guy rocks. And he went and called it out and he just did it.

00:37:06

His name's Sig, too.

00:37:07

His name is Sig, so his name's Kurt, too.

00:37:09

I saw some of this game. I was in Indiana last night, and I stopped into a dive bar because I was. I was ordering some dinner and I was picking it up. And the dive bar that I walked into was the most Indiana scene I think I've ever seen in my entire life. It was. I don't Think there was anybody under the age of 45 in there? Yeah, one guy had an eye patch on. The guy that was the drunkest at the bar was about 67 years old. He had hair that went down to, like, the smallest black. His back. I couldn't understand a single word that he was saying. People were playing pool, smoking cigarettes, and they had the game on the shittiest TV that had like a crack through the middle of it, but the sound on it was blaring through the entire bar. And everybody was just locked in on this game, every single thing that happened. And I've. I've never been in a happier place smoking cigarettes inside. It was. It was an incredible place to watch. My brief glimpse into this national what's up Game.

00:38:01

I. I didn't know I was. You were in Indiana.

00:38:04

You didn't know that Kevin Warren hired him. He's scouting for the Gary Indiana Bears.

00:38:09

Oh, nice.

00:38:09

Yeah, they had to figure out. Pft. Had to go down there and figure out where they're going to put the flight simulator later.

00:38:13

Well, that and also I. They had to see if there was ample space for tailgating. So I was just doing like. I was just drinking beers in the parking lot for the most part, pretty much.

00:38:21

00:40:02

Okay, we have some coach hirings we already talked about. Oh, no, actually, technically we. Sean McDermott was fired in between shows, but credit to us, we essentially said that had to happen. So I'm actually. Because that will happen to us every now and then with our opinions not always being spot on, where there's an alternate world where we could have done an entire show on Sunday and said, you got to keep Sean McDermott and then he gets fired two seconds later. We kind of expected this to happen. I think a lot of people expected this to happen. Brandon being promoted, they're going to now find this now becomes, in my mind, the number one job. Yeah, it's the number one job open.

00:40:44

Yeah.

00:40:45

So that they should be able to get whoever they want.

00:40:47

They. They should get whoever they want. I, I wonder if there's some coaches that have been hired already that are like, damn, I wish I could interview for the Bills job.

00:40:56

I would say John Harbaugh might be.

00:40:57

Thinking that he might be in those same lines.

00:40:59

Stefanski might be thinking that he might.

00:41:01

Be thinking that same way. Although they just hired Callahan to be their offensive line coach. Not, not the big time Callahan, son. Big time. No, they hired big time.

00:41:10

Yeah.

00:41:11

The O line coach is doing the same thing in Atlanta. But yeah, I, I feel like you got Josh Allen. McDermott was a great coach for the moment, that he needed to be there in terms of like getting the Bills to the playoffs, stabilizing the franchise a little bit. He's a good defensive coach, I think, but it was time. It was just time. And if they can get somebody in there, I don't want to say like a John Gruden, but like a John Gruden to be a hard ass, to give him a little bit of edge because like McDermott never had any edge to him.

00:41:41

Well, and the, the defense, you know, failed them at times because that's the thing is, Josh, we, we said it. Josh Allen didn't play great on sun or Saturday in Denver. He did. That game was a winnable game. He had too many turnovers. But if you look at the Bills in the Sean McDermott, Josh Allen playoff history, they. Josh Allen gets them to 30 points like every time.

00:42:06

Yeah.

00:42:06

And their defense is just so. I as crazy it sounds. I don't think it's the worst to get an incredible defensive coach knowing that Josh Allen can just do it.

00:42:15

Yeah.

00:42:15

You know, like Brian Flores.

00:42:17

Dave. I mean, if you look at their history of playoff losses. Yeah, you're right. For the most part, it's the most recent one stood out because. Yeah, Josh, a few things up, but yeah, if you have a defense that's marginally better, that it gives you a big advantage in the playoffs.

00:42:32

And that was what Sean McDermott was supposed to be. That that's his M.O. is he's a defensive coach.

00:42:38

Hank, you rolled your eyes a little bit when we were talking about the next coach. What are your thoughts on the Bills?

00:42:43

No, I just would hate Gruden going there would break my heart.

00:42:48

That'd be tough.

00:42:48

You think Rex Ryan is going to volunteer for this job, too? Maybe he might. Yeah.

00:42:54

So in the Bills losses, this is the points they scored in the Bills playoff losses in the last six years. They scored 30 points on Saturday, they scored 29 points. Last year, they. They scored 24 points. The low one is 10 when they got killed by the Bengals. So that was bad offense. They scored 36 in the OT game to the Chiefs and they scored 24. So they've scored points. They just haven't been able to stop the other team in these big moments. And I think that's part of why the change is happening.

00:43:25

Yeah, Yeah, I would agree. And it's happened over and over and over again, and it was. It was the right time to do it. I don't think he's a bad coach. I think he's actually a good coach, but wouldn't have worked out moving forward.

00:43:37

You know, where he actually wouldn't be. So it's. It's interesting because when we were going. When. Whatever two weeks ago when we were talking about the coaching carousel since then, the Ravens fired John Harbaugh, the Mike Tomlin left the Steelers, and now Sean McDermott has been fired by the Bills. So it went from 7 to 10. And it also went, weirdly, to a point where we thought it was going to be a coaching carousel where there weren't a lot of great candidates. But now Sean McDermott's in the can you Know, John Harbaugh became a candidate like Sean McDermott maybe, maybe like the Cardinals, a place where he can kind of. He remember he went to Buffalo. There wasn't a lot there.

00:44:17

Yeah, they were bad.

00:44:18

They were bad and he did make them good. It just, they hit the wall. So maybe going to a team that feels lost, he could put it back together a little bit. Right.

00:44:29

I don't know that Sean McDermott going to the Steelers would be great because that's like kind of the same, the same problem to a different extent, but the exact same issue.

00:44:36

Right.

00:44:37

But yeah, he, he, what he did in Buffalo was like really good. I don't think that like Bill's fans probably got frustrated with him by the end for sure, but they also appreciate what he did for the team. And I think, yeah, he's, I think he's a very good coach.

00:44:50

Yeah. So the other coaching news we had was Robert Salah hired in Tennessee. They wanted a strong defensive minded guy who's good culture leader of men like a Mike Vrabel type.

00:45:04

Yep.

00:45:05

And that's what they got in Robert Salah. Memes. Are you upset? No, I'm upset by the reporting going on right now. Okay, tell us. No, they're just saying he, he finally gets a start with a quarterback.

00:45:16

Yeah, I, I actually had Ian Rapapore on my hot seat today because he got community noted by memes. He did, he did big time. He said Robert Salah lands with a second chance at a head coaching job, this time with a quarterback. And then memes replied, Sam Darnold was a quarterback when he was hired with the Jets. Community. Community note Ian at X and he got community noted.

00:45:40

Sam Darnold was a quarterback currently playing in the conference championship for those who watch football. And he also had a choice at a quarterback at the second pick. So. Okay, look, I'm happy for Bob. I think he's going to do well there.

00:45:54

He.

00:45:54

It sound like he wowed him. I love reading the reports of what memes. What memes.

00:46:02

Just had a, a tweet that said you can on. You can on the Jets. All I ask is accurate reporting. I think meme's whole thing is that.

00:46:09

You cannot on the Jets. Yeah, I don't think I'm allowed to say you can on the Jets.

00:46:14

It's a big question because your reporting.

00:46:16

Is on the Jets.

00:46:17

That's not, that's not allowed.

00:46:18

Then, then we kind of run into a situation where if you on the jets, that's inaccurate report reporting.

00:46:22

Right. Well, accuracy is.

00:46:25

How do we Know if they're accurate.

00:46:26

Yeah. Accuracy is her buddies. Accuracy is a subjective call by means. Yes. Okay.

00:46:33

Okay.

00:46:33

Facts. That's all you ask. All facts that pertain to the New York jets must be cleared by memes first. That's fair.

00:46:41

That's extremely fair.

00:46:43

But yeah, the. He. He essentially it was. It was a domino effect because all these guys had, like, Jeff Halfley got hired by the Dolphins, which I think that was a good hire because you kind of. He's. He's a good defensive coach. And also I think the Dolphins just hired the, like, second in command from the packers front office. You got synergy.

00:47:04

Shout out.

00:47:05

Fernando Mendoza. All these guys had other interviews and they all have had to, like, trickle. Like, Stefanski was supposed to interview with the Titans, Bob Sala was supposed to interview with the Cardinals. And I think they're just, from all accounts, Robert Salah showed up to the Titans facility and they're like, we can't let him out.

00:47:22

This guy's so impressed.

00:47:23

He was so good.

00:47:24

I love this guy. So now we got Salah and d'. Amico. Ryan's in the same conference.

00:47:29

Yep.

00:47:29

Or the same division. That's going to be interesting to see Halfley. So, Big Cat, I don't think you were here for this. I think you'd left to go to the. The Bears game. But I was sitting on the couch in the gambling cave next to Stephen Shea, and we're talking Jeff Halfley because, you know, just a couple boys talking.

00:47:44

Just talking.

00:47:44

Jeff and. And Stephen Shea was like, oh, he has the worst haircut in the NFL. And I was like, I haven't spent that much time looking at Jeff Halfley's haircut. It's a little bit of a flat top, but it's also almost identical to Stephen Chase.

00:48:00

Yeah.

00:48:00

Haircut.

00:48:01

Yeah.

00:48:01

Like, far and away it is. If you were to pick one guy in the office that has a similar hair.

00:48:06

Yeah, he just made it dark.

00:48:08

It's Stephen. And he wouldn't shut the up about how terrible this haircut was.

00:48:11

A we character's haircut.

00:48:13

Yeah, yeah.

00:48:13

And. And I was like, it's like. It's like if I said Steve Belichick has the worst haircut in the world. Like, you can't. You can't say that about the guy that's got your own hair.

00:48:21

Yeah, no, he. He's. He's. He hates himself.

00:48:25

Yeah.

00:48:26

I guess. Good hire by the Dolphins, though.

00:48:28

Sure, we'll see.

00:48:29

And then we have. Where's Mike McDaniel going to go? Do we have Any guesses?

00:48:34

Tampa.

00:48:34

Tampa. So then he can basically be the head coach when Todd Bowles gets fired for going 8, 9, and maybe winning the South.

00:48:41

Head coach and waiting.

00:48:41

Yeah, head coach and waiting.

00:48:43

And also then you lose the. The prospect of Baker not having back to back offensive coordinators is. If he just, I guess the streak would continue. But it would be Mike McDonald on the graphic instead of like getting fired or getting hired by the Jaguars.

00:48:57

Right.

00:48:57

It would be promoted to head coach. Right?

00:48:59

Yeah. And then we had the Lions get their OC they went with Drew Petzing, who was, has familiarity with it. I think he worked with Hank Fraley from the Lions and Campbell was like, yeah, that's my guy. Tough. If. Can you, can you Google Drew Petzing? Did you see that one picture? I did Drew Petzing in Kyler Murray. Google that. That. That one was tough. He seems like he'll be a good coach. Do images, Max. You're gonna do images. There it is. Yeah. Kyler's towering over him.

00:49:37

Yes. Not, not a great image. Yeah, that, that's the bad one right there. It's like, what as, as a fellow completely average height King, you gotta, you, you can't stand next to another short man if you know that you're shorter than that man.

00:49:51

Here's what I'll say though. In his defense, I think you'd want, if you had to like build your O.C. d.C. In a lab. I actually think D.C. you want a big, tall, hunking guy and O.C. you kind of want a short King Maniac.

00:50:06

I kind of like the idea of the short King King Maniac being the O line coach. That too, because it's just like a little psychopath that gets the boys riled up.

00:50:14

Right. But, but a DC he can't be a defensive coordinator with like a short guy. Feels like defensive coordinators, like, I don't know. But, but, but as an offensive coordinator, it's like a little madman to him. I don't know what's going on. Yeah, it works.

00:50:25

Maybe, maybe if it's a short defensive coordinator, it's like a little Napoleon syndrome, which could be good to build. I, yeah, I, I, if you had to pick one, I would agree with that.

00:50:33

Yeah.

00:50:34

Didn't Detroit say we interviewed Mike McDaniel? Didn't feel he was a good culture fit. Yeah, I think that's a hundred percent Caprice. I think he showed up for the interview in Capris.

00:50:44

Well, there's also been.

00:50:45

No.

00:50:45

Have you seen the picture of him in the airport? Yeah. The weird suit.

00:50:49

Yeah. That's Dan Campbell. Got to look at him. He was like, we're going to go in a different direction.

00:50:53

Yeah. Yeah. And then I think that's it. That's all the coaching changes as of right now, right?

00:50:58

Yep. Yeah, I think so.

00:51:00

Do we. Any. Any early thoughts about championship Sunday? Hank, are you getting a little scared of Jared Stidham?

00:51:10

The Broncos?

00:51:11

Yeah, I'm worried about the Broncos as a whole, as an organization. Mile High Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback that's ever walked the planet, never won a playoff game in Denver. So that's not. That's nothing to scoff at.

00:51:24

I'm not.

00:51:24

I'm not looking past under. I'm not looking past Jared Stidham.

00:51:28

You just laugh. You just laughed. You could not get the words out that I'm not looking past Jared Stidham without laughing. You.

00:51:34

You. We. We sat out there and talking about. And you. You said, yeah, just book me.

00:51:39

No, no.

00:51:40

Just laughed on air.

00:51:42

You guys are putting words in my. Max said, we're gonna go ahead and book you for Monday. And you said, yeah, you should. I. I didn't.

00:51:46

That was. That was.

00:51:47

You guys.

00:51:48

Max is right. Prove that you can say Jared Stum can beat the Patriots without smiling.

00:51:54

Nope, can't try.

00:51:55

Jared Stum can beat the Patriots without smiling.

00:51:58

No, he can't do it. He can't do it. He can't do it.

00:52:01

So far, your entire outlook on this game is just like, oh, it's hard. The altitude.

00:52:06

The Patriots have never won it. Like, that's.

00:52:08

No, it's. It's the New England Patriots, the greatest.

00:52:10

Football franchise in the greatest 20 year run of. Of the greatest team with the greatest quarterback and greatest coach could not win a Mile High. That again, is like that.

00:52:20

No, now finish what you. The sentence you say in private, that you say that and then you say, but it's Jared Stidham.

00:52:29

It's Jared Stidham. Jared Stidham. Yeah.

00:52:36

I'm just kind of upset. I've enjoyed. I've enjoyed being the. The scrappy underdog that no one believes in. And, and you know, we all seed. We're in a spot where it's like we could. We could be the laughingstock of the league.

00:52:48

You've been favored in both your games and you've been. But no one's playoffs.

00:52:52

No one's believed in scrappy underdogs. No one's believed enough.

00:52:55

I still, like, that's the thing. Like, I still don't know. No one Patriots about to go to the Super Bowl. No one Knows how, like if they're actually good. It's true.

00:53:04

Yeah, it is.

00:53:06

What do you know about going into a conference championship game against a shitty backup quarterback? Not the Jared Sim shitty, but like, what do you guys played NSU championship game against Christian McCaffrey at QB.

00:53:17

Okay, that wasn't going into the game.

00:53:19

We also lost that super bowl. So are you saying that you're gonna lose that Super Bowl?

00:53:22

No, I'm just talking. I'm just talking. We're talking about. I'm not looking at the super bowl at all. I'm not. Yeah, I haven't thought about it. I'm worried about.

00:53:28

Yeah, that's such a lie.

00:53:30

That was also mid game.

00:53:31

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You didn't go into that.

00:53:33

No, I did not go into that super bowl playing a backup quarterback. We ended up playing no quarterback, but we didn't go into that game.

00:53:43

Wasn't Josh Johnson the quarterback well yet?

00:53:45

No.

00:53:45

He also got hurt.

00:53:46

Brock Purdy got hurt in that game. Then Josh Johnson got hurt. And then, and then Kittle was like, hey, Brock, can you throw left handed?

00:53:54

No.

00:53:55

Okay, we're.

00:53:56

Yeah.

00:53:58

Say, say it. Say Jared Stidham's name with respect.

00:54:02

I, I have more respect and more knowledge on Jared stood in than anyone on this podcast. He's a patriot. Patriot for life.

00:54:07

Okay.

00:54:07

You laughed when you said his name. You're not scared of Jared Stum. You laughed. I couldn't get the words out.

00:54:14

Scared about the Mile High Stadium.

00:54:16

You want to laugh again? You want to laugh again? You want to laugh again.

00:54:18

You're afraid of the altitude.

00:54:20

We got a big game on Sunday.

00:54:21

It's hanging focused on Jared Stum. You mean eight.

00:54:28

Sure, eight.

00:54:29

Yeah.

00:54:29

You got some stats?

00:54:30

No, I have no stats about Jared there. That's the problem with Jared. There's no stats to draw.

00:54:34

Yeah, he's a complete unknown.

00:54:35

Played four games.

00:54:36

I'm in the Bob Dylan.

00:54:37

I'm so far in the back of your head. We tried to sign him. You think I got stats about everything.

00:54:43

We wanted to sign them.

00:54:44

I mean, the one thing this is not Daniel's loves. This is not a good Jared Stidham. It doesn't really do anything for actual gameplay. But Sean Payton did get him in free agency and then resign him to pretty lucrative backup quarterback deal. So he sees something.

00:55:02

Yeah, I hope that I'm giving Jared Stidham all of the bulletin board material. If he wins on Sunday, he is my goat.

00:55:13

Why do you care?

00:55:16

Because. Fair question.

00:55:18

Fair question. Yeah, I know Hank's. Hank's gonna win. The Patriots are going to win. They're going to go to the super bowl and. Yeah, good luck, Hank. You'll be playing against Stetson Bennett and the Rams, and you're going to win 40 to nothing. And then you're going to go to Disney World, which you've already planned.

00:55:33

Yeah, you already planned that. You already booked your super bowl trip.

00:55:36

You already booked Disney World Dynasty back on. And it sucks because I love Rabel and I want to root for Rabel.

00:55:43

What?

00:55:44

I mean, the parade's going to be so sick.

00:55:46

Duck boats.

00:55:47

It's Mike versus Sean Bull on Sunday.

00:55:50

Yeah. We got both games Mike Sean squared.

00:55:52

Yeah, it's wild. Kind of wild.

00:55:54

Would you, Hank, would you rather both Mike's win or both Sean's win?

00:55:59

Both Mikes.

00:56:00

Yeah.

00:56:00

Okay.

00:56:00

That's a good, good answer to that. Took you a second. Mike and Mike Bull.

00:56:04

Yeah, I'd rather play the Rams, but.

00:56:07

Oh, so you want to go double Mike Sean. You want to face a Sean two times in a row.

00:56:12

Yeah, it's tough to be two Sean's in a row.

00:56:14

It's really tough.

00:56:16

But I'd rather play the. I'd rather play the Sean's.

00:56:19

You think McVeigh is going to, you know, much like he was with the Bears and Matt LaFleur, he's going to seek to avenge his brother that. That you vanquished the week before is McVeigh.

00:56:30

And wait, no.

00:56:30

You beat a Sean like you beat a Sean.

00:56:32

You are one and one against Sean's this year. What do you say? Memes you would rather play Matthew Stafford than Sam Darnold? Yeah. That's probably stupid. Yeah, that's kind of crazy.

00:56:43

I'm a crazy guy.

00:56:48

You are a crazy guy.

00:56:50

Any other cleanup from what?

00:56:52

What I want to hear from pft.

00:56:54

What?

00:56:55

Just like, what. What's been your.

00:56:56

No, we're not doing the preview yet.

00:56:58

Oh, you're not too. Okay.

00:56:59

Yeah.

00:56:59

No, no.

00:57:00

Next on Friday show. I want to give you something for.

00:57:03

You to hear this question, though. What? Where are we going?

00:57:05

I just like, I, I.

00:57:06

It.

00:57:06

It's, you know, game week. You're waking up and. And you're thinking about Jared Stidham. Like, where's your head at?

00:57:12

Where.

00:57:12

Where What? Like.

00:57:17

Number eight.

00:57:17

We should double check from being $50,000 poor, $40,000 poor is Jared Stidham. Yeah, I know. That's like the first thing that's been crossing your mind in the morning. What?

00:57:29

And then. Oh, yeah. And then. What are those next Thoughts?

00:57:32

My next thoughts on potentially owing you $50,000. It would suck.

00:57:35

He might be four.

00:57:37

He was four on the Patriots. Is he four?

00:57:39

That's a Broncos four. He's either. We got two. We got.

00:57:41

We got a four and a.

00:57:43

We don't know the guy's numbers.

00:57:44

Jesus Christ.

00:57:45

I think it's gotta be eight.

00:57:46

Would you. Would it scare you if the Broncos do the throwback uniform forms? I feel like they have to do that. They have to throw everything, but they won't.

00:57:53

I don't think you can for the playoffs.

00:57:55

Why you do alternate ski?

00:57:58

I guess I wake up every morning feeling great, Hank. Feeling absolutely.

00:58:03

You gotta. You gotta have something for him on Friday. I've.

00:58:05

Listen, I. I don't. Contrary to what he, Hank, believes. Don't fly to yourself. I don't think about you all the time. I think about facts and I think about statistics. And if those statistics are inconvenient for you, I'm sorry for that. But that's not going to change the numbers. So I'm going to continue to do my job for the listeners, continue to do my job for the podcast and do adequate research and be prepared to talk about the game intelligently as opposed to just sitting back there and be.

00:58:29

Like, oh, boo, boo.

00:58:31

We have. We've never beat. We never won in Denver. I'm scared of. Scared of the city.

00:58:36

You know what, Hank? You should be more like memes if you're. You should just have the rule. Like, you could shit. You shit on the Patriots, but you have to be factual. Like, PFD's just being factual.

00:58:46

Yeah.

00:58:47

And you're getting upset if you have.

00:58:48

I'm not upset.

00:58:49

I love it. Of how not to get triggered online.

00:58:52

If I get a stat wrong, then that's fair for you to point out, but if I get a stat right and then the stat ends up becoming even more true after I say it, would it kill you to be like, good call. Pft. You warned me about this.

00:59:04

Yeah, true.

00:59:06

Okay.

00:59:06

All right. So, no, I'm not thinking about you, but I did call bank of America this morning. I'm trying to figure out the most inconvenient way to possibly give you $50,000.

00:59:14

I want them to buy you a U. S. Bond because no way would you figure out how to. And you also would be smarter not to cash it. Let it accrue.

00:59:22

Hank. What. What animals are you allergic to for your. This is for your own safety, by the way.

00:59:31

Yeah, we're trying to look out.

00:59:33

I don't think I'm allergic to any animals.

00:59:34

Okay, perfect. Perfect.

00:59:37

Including insects, including cobras.

00:59:41

I don't like cats.

00:59:42

Oh, you don't like snakes, but you're not allergic?

00:59:45

Not. I am allergic to snakes.

00:59:46

No, he's not allergic.

00:59:48

You're not allergic. You know that. You just don't like them. Are there any other animals that you really don't like? Because I'll make sure to stay away from those, too.

00:59:56

Golden retrievers. Dachshunds.

00:59:59

Okay.

01:00:00

Okay, so you don't like golden retrievers.

01:00:04

What?

01:00:04

Oh, I just something they get around me. I get all stuffy and breaking out in hives.

01:00:09

Oh, so you are allergic.

01:00:10

I never got officially diagnosed, but just golden retrievers.

01:00:14

Yeah, that's it.

01:00:16

Hank.

01:00:16

Hank, you're the number one dog hater on this podcast now.

01:00:21

I don't know what it is.

01:00:22

Yeah.

01:00:23

What are you gonna do with 50 grand?

01:00:26

Well, in this scenario, in this hypothetical, the Patriots have won the game and are going to super bowl, so I'd probably buy super bowl tickets.

01:00:35

Okay, so you'd spend 50 grand on tickets.

01:00:40

Dave's gonna buy you a ticket.

01:00:41

Yeah.

01:00:42

You don't need that.

01:00:42

I don't know.

01:00:44

That was smart of you to do that. That was really smart. That was you being like, oh, I'll get the bill.

01:00:49

I paid it in 2013. I had zero dollars to my name. I was getting paid like 800 bucks a week or a month every two weeks. And tickets to Subaru were five grand. And I had Dave. I did, like, a payment plan with him. I was giving him like 200 bucks every two weeks. I think I paid like three grand. And then he's like, you don't have to pay me.

01:01:09

How much money did Dave have then compared to how much he has?

01:01:11

He has a lot more now.

01:01:12

Yeah.

01:01:12

Yeah, but I'm not. I'm not.

01:01:14

I'll pay.

01:01:14

I mean, again, I'll be $50,000, which would be the greatest, you know, reinvestment of my life.

01:01:20

How embarrassing would it be, though, if you did lose to Stidham in the Broncos?

01:01:24

I mean, they're the number one seed for a reason. Sean Payton's a great coach.

01:01:28

They.

01:01:29

They didn't get here because of one player. Their defense, you know, caused five turnovers last week. They're a very good defense. Formal opponent, the unbelievable crowd, great sports town. So I wouldn't be embarrassed at all. They're the one. It's. They're. They're the higher ranked seat.

01:01:45

You've always said that. Denver, great sports town.

01:01:48

Yeah, no, he's respected Denver of Course.

01:01:51

Okay.

01:01:51

Anything else from the weekend? The. The delayed onset losses hit me this morning. Oh yeah, it was. I. Last night where I was watching the national championship game. I was. I was firing up the group chat with some of my friends and it was just like a lot of. If this play had been different. If this play had been different. So it's like finally hit like the Bears aren't playing again.

01:02:14

Yeah. I mean, after the game was. There was enough cool stuff that happened for the Bears in that game to be like not the worst loss I could experience. There's a lot to look forward to and then it's slowly think about slowly.

01:02:26

And I. I said it. The bear weather still being here even more so is. It's just like. Yeah, I was. I spent a whole week rooting for bear weather and then it stayed.

01:02:36

Oh, it's. It's hitting. It's harder next weekend.

01:02:39

Yeah. The. I. I'm also fighting. I'm also fighting off the, the, the. The Bears are going to be the number one team people are going to pick to regress and I don't see it that way. But that is.

01:02:51

That is.

01:02:51

I know it's trivial to talk about it after when the playoffs are still going on and the. We've all off season do it. But I've been. I've been fighting that fight online.

01:02:59

Well, it's the bear weather.

01:03:01

This weekend's bananas.

01:03:02

I mean, White Sox Dave arguing for positive.

01:03:03

Positive regression hurt us.

01:03:05

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Hand up. I did not see this.

01:03:07

Can you explain positive regression?

01:03:09

Try to explain to me in a way that will make me smarter.

01:03:12

No positive regression chance. He just said it's going to be positive progression.

01:03:16

Like, okay, all right, wait. I think I might know what he's talking about because talk about progress. I. And this is. This is not a good sign for me, but I, I had this thought last year for the commanders that our record is going to be worse, but our team's going to be better.

01:03:33

Yeah.

01:03:34

Is that what Dave was saying?

01:03:35

I don't know. I actually don't know what he's saying. But everyone's. You know, there's people picking it. I. The. I think we maybe discuss it on Sunday. But the cap makes no, the cap's so stupid. People being like, well, the Bears are in cap trouble. No, no, they're not. They're going to fucking restructure a few people. They do have to get better defensively, but I think the offense is going to get better. And they did. They did. They were 8 and 5 in one score games, were there a lot of comebacks? Yeah, but they're 8 and 5. That's not a statistical anomaly being 8 and 5 in one score games. And guess what? If you can fix the defense a little bit, you don't have to do the comebacks all the time.

01:04:11

So I'm thinking that there's going to be just two firm camps of people. One camp saying the Bears super bowl because you make some additions on the defensive side and you see how the big step that Caleb took in year two and then there will be those that are Bear haters that will be more inclined to be like, this is the team they're gonna, that's gonna suck. So you're gonna get both sides. Probably not a lot of people saying that the Bears will be a very good team and make some noise in the playoffs again next year.

01:04:36

Put me down for that. You're gonna, I don't, I don't know.

01:04:39

Yeah, six out of ten. Well, that's, that's what six out of ten looks like.

01:04:41

The playoffs is a crapshoot. I think the Bears are going to be just fine. And I think the future is very, very bright for Caleb and Ben Johnson. And I mean, look you, I, I, by the way, I went back and I watched some of the C.J. stroud. You guys were underselling how ass he was.

01:04:56

I think I said mega asked the most asked that's ever asked, but that's still underselling it. Yeah, he's.

01:05:01

It was so ass, it's crazy. What are the Texans going to do?

01:05:04

So they have to make a decision. Right. About the option.

01:05:07

I think they can wait. So. No, no, they, yeah, they're going to give them the fifth year. I think they already gave him the fifth year. It's now whether usually going into the fourth year is when you do the extension.

01:05:19

Yeah.

01:05:20

They can't extend this guy right now. And you take the risk of, oh, could he turn to a form of the first year and that now the extension is more money. Sure. But you, you can't extend them. Right. Because then you get, you get into a situation.

01:05:36

So I'm seeing that there. I don't think they've actually given him the extension yet.

01:05:41

There's option, the fifth year option.

01:05:43

Yeah. There's a rumor from one of the rumor Twitter accounts. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they did officially decide to do that.

01:05:51

I wonder. Texas Texans to pick up fifth year option on CJ Stroud. That's on Yahoo.

01:05:58

Yeah. But if you click, which I just clicked that article.

01:06:00

Oh.

01:06:01

And it's a rumor.

01:06:01

And. It was a rumor.

01:06:02

Oh, yeah. Yeah. Wow. They. That's. That's bullshit. They did that way. I think you have to pick up the option, but you can extend them.

01:06:09

Yeah. You definitely pick up the. I think that he's played well enough in the past where you can. You can definitely do that.

01:06:15

The. The. You guys want a quick blind resume?

01:06:18

Yep.

01:06:19

QB1, last 17 starts, 19 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 83.9 passer rating. QB2, 26 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 87 passer rating, last 17 starts.

01:06:36

I'll take QB2.

01:06:38

Yeah.

01:06:39

Yeah.

01:06:39

Who do you think QB2 is?

01:06:40

I think it's Bryce.

01:06:41

It is Bryce.

01:06:43

Yeah.

01:06:43

Redraft. Think it's been better than CJ Stroud in the last 17 starts.

01:06:47

How awesome is that for Panthers fans?

01:06:49

Caleb. Caleb.

01:06:50

Ever since he lil broed Caleb.

01:06:51

Yeah. There's no. I know this is. I don't think there's even. I don't think there's a debate who you take, Caleb or C.J. shroud. It's not even close to a debate. No. And that it's crazy to be in this spot, like, considering how, you know, last year looked. And then CA Shroud, after his first year, he's completely regressed. Oh, yeah. I've seen that meme going around. Caleb Williams, five interceptions in two playoff games. Wow. You're so. You're sweet. C.J. stroud, five interception, two playoff games. Hello, human resources. There is context.

01:07:24

A couple of those are fourth down.

01:07:25

Three of them were fourth downs. Two of them were bad. That. That. That hurt the Bears. But the difference I would say is one, you have to add C.J. stroud's fumbles.

01:07:35

Yep.

01:07:36

And two, Caleb basically went out in one. If. If the Bears had the Texans defense, this, like, we wouldn't even having this conversation. Texas have a Super bowl defense. And CD Stroud was so ass. That Davis Mills, if he played in that second half. I don't know if they win the game. They have a chance. Fighting chance.

01:07:55

You're saying, like, that's what we're seeing during the game. It's like no joke. You actually put Davis Mills.

01:08:01

Yes.

01:08:01

Game.

01:08:01

Right.

01:08:01

Yes. You guys are right.

01:08:02

Not just because it's funny to have Davis Mills play. He is a better. He's not a bad quarterback.

01:08:06

Yeah.

01:08:07

C.J. stroud was objectively bad.

01:08:09

Yeah. And. And the. The. Caleb Williams. Yeah. He threw five interceptions. He also won that game against the Packers. Almost got them to the conference championship game. C.J. shroud, that. That Steelers game was all The Texans.

01:08:21

Defense, the thing about the Internet kept on fucking them up is that just any anybody can say whatever they want.

01:08:26

It's stats versus watching the games. No one would have watched both C.J. stroud games. Both Caleb Williams games have been like, C.J. stroud's playing the same as Caleb Williams.

01:08:35

I test.

01:08:36

I test. Okay, let's do hot sequel Trump. And then we got two great interviews. Adam Thielen and our good friend Patty the baddie. Coming up. Hut Seat. Cool. Toronto is brought to you by Pizza Hut. 01:09:24

Pizza Hut.

01:09:25

Okay, that was.

01:09:26

That was money.

01:09:27

Yeah, that was really good.

01:09:28

Pizza Hut.

01:09:31

Okay. Hut seat. Cool.

01:09:33

Throw my Hut seat. Are the Beckhams.

01:09:37

Yeah.

01:09:38

A lot of drama in the Beckham's world. David Beckham. Posh Beckham. What's her real name? Spice.

01:09:47

Posh Spice.

01:09:48

Spice Spice Beckham.

01:09:49

David Spice.

01:09:50

David Spice.

01:09:51

Victoria Beckham.

01:09:52

Victoria Beckham. Their son, Brooklyn Beckham, who apparently is married to a billionaire.

01:10:00

She's attractive.

01:10:01

She's attractive.

01:10:02

Her.

01:10:03

She's so pretty. She looks AI like. I saw a picture of her. I was like that. She literally looks like an AI of like when you see on Instagram and you're like, this girl's so hot. Oh, it's AI.

01:10:13

It's happening a lot.

01:10:14

It's happened.

01:10:15

A little confusing. By the way, the. Was it. What's the model's name? Brooklyn Decker. Decker. So when I saw Brooklyn Beckham, I started reading his. This is really stupid. I. I read his inst. Someone posted his Instagram stories and I read that and I was like, oh, do the. Are the Beckham's homophobic? Because like their daughter is married to another chick. And then I realized that Brooklyn's a guy's name. It is. Carry on.

01:10:42

Yeah, yeah.

01:10:43

Stupid.

01:10:43

Yeah. He released a statement via like six Instagram stories just trashing the Beckham enterprises. Lot of, lot of, lot of tidbits in it. But it was basically like this feud is is all my parents, they're all focused on image, and they're not act. They don't actually care about their kids. They care about their public image and photo shoots, things of that nature. Victoria Beckham is apparently a fashion designer. She was supposed to be designing Brooklyn Beckham's wife's wedding dress.

01:11:14

Nicola Peltz.

01:11:15

Nicole Peltz. Billionaire family. Like, they're right there in the Beckhams. Yeah. So you would think that, you know, if it was, like, a social thing. It's like the Beckham should be. They're worried about their image and social status. It's like, you.

01:11:25

You.

01:11:26

This is ideal. Your son is marrying into a richer family than you.

01:11:30

That's.

01:11:30

You know, that's good for everyone.

01:11:32

Power.

01:11:32

Wow. But they got big dogged.

01:11:34

I guess that might be the. The problem. At the last minute, she canceled. She's like, I'm not doing your wedding dress. They had to scramble. And then apparently, which is the funniest story to me, is that she hijacked their first dance.

01:11:45

Oh.

01:11:46

She, like, the. The first dance song came out, and she was basically on the dance floor being like, all right, what's. Are we gonna dance? Like, this is my time.

01:11:54

Yeah.

01:11:54

So I. I read the. The Instagram story from Brooklyn, and I'll just say this for any guy who is out there who's listening right now, and you're like, hey, what side do I take when maybe discussing this with your significant other? You got to take Brooklyn side. I attempted to take the Beckham side last night. It didn't go well. I think my exact quote. I don't know, because I just read it, and I just decided my hot take was, well, my parents are mean to me. No, I think. I think the exact quote was, what are you, some kind of idiot? Was what I got.

01:12:28

I gotta be honest. I. I don't. I don't follow this story at all. There's too many. Too many names.

01:12:33

The guy wrote, like, four Instagram stories.

01:12:36

People are saying he didn't write it too.

01:12:38

And I was just. My takeaway was when. When my parents are mean to me.

01:12:41

And can you explain to me, like, I'm five.

01:12:42

I'm married to a model.

01:12:47

Parents trashing son in media.

01:12:50

Yeah.

01:12:51

Son fights back via Instagram stories.

01:12:53

Got it.

01:12:54

Destroys Empire. Parents are me feel bad for David.

01:12:57

Or podcast reap benefit via talking about current event.

01:13:02

Pfd. I'll. I'll explain.

01:13:03

Sun Wife hot.

01:13:05

I'll explain it to you real quick. David Beckham's son did an entire Instagram Post saying, my parents are mean. Okay.

01:13:11

Yeah.

01:13:11

What if. What a baby.

01:13:12

What else happened besides the first. The first dance?

01:13:16

I mean, a canceling. Imagine like your.

01:13:18

Your.

01:13:18

Your mom is a famous designer and you're like, hey, will you design my wife's wedding dress for our big day? And then at the last second, they're like, hey, sorry, cancel.

01:13:28

He claims that. He also claimed that, like, he. His.

01:13:32

Like, if your mom was a famous fashion designer, the last. The two days before was like, hey, sorry, dress isn't ready.

01:13:37

So then they just had to find a new dress.

01:13:39

Yeah. They also he afford one. And then hijack.

01:13:43

Trying to do research on this wife.

01:13:44

And then hijack the first dance.

01:13:46

Yeah. He also claims that, like, which is.

01:13:49

That's so funny.

01:13:49

Wait, who hijacked the mom.

01:13:51

The mom.

01:13:51

The mom was like, okay, I'm going to do a. A mommy sun dance. Correct instead of.

01:13:56

Correct instead of first dance. And then. And then Brooklyn.

01:13:59

Back to my time to shine.

01:14:01

Yeah.

01:14:01

I mean, this is a. A Greek myth is Oedipus.

01:14:04

Yeah. Claims that the parents, David Beckham and Posh Spice refused to, like, see them. Like, refuses to spend time with the. The daughter refuses. Like, they went to London. And David Beckham's like, I'm not. I'm not gonna hang out with you, son, because I don't like your wife. Again, my parents mean to me, maybe he doesn't like his son.

01:14:27

The wife is tight with his ex and was inviting her to events.

01:14:30

Oh, yeah. They were bringing back a lot of exes.

01:14:32

Okay.

01:14:32

They're trying to break him up.

01:14:34

That's tough.

01:14:35

And I guess one of the exes turned lesbian.

01:14:38

Okay, so there are lesbians in this story. Yeah, I was right.

01:14:41

Okay. Allegedly. So it's double X's now. What? It sounds to me like Victoria Spice just wants. She's looking to talk to a younger guy and needs somebody to just chat with. If you want to come on part of my take, we're happy to give you a platform.

01:14:57

Sure.

01:14:57

Yeah.

01:14:58

Yeah. It's essentially a story that happens probably a lot in the real world. The parents don't like the partner there's. Their child has chosen. And then the only difference is the Beckhams are ruthless in the media and have trashed the. Out of the.

01:15:15

Basically the royal family.

01:15:15

Basically, like sewer Kate Middleton. So I don't actually side with the Beckhams. I think I'm actually going to stay neutral on this because I don't care.

01:15:23

I kind of do. I think I kind of do side with the Beckhams.

01:15:25

Okay, so you're in the way of. My parents are meeting.

01:15:26

Yeah. It's like. Grow up.

01:15:28

Grow up.

01:15:28

Wait, you didn't have the money to get a new dress.

01:15:30

That's what I'm saying. What if David Beckham's like, my son's kind of not chill, right? Yeah.

01:15:34

What if.

01:15:35

Don't feel like hanging with.

01:15:35

What if. What if your baby's got bad vibes? Nobody talks about that. Yeah, exactly. No, I. I fall firmly into the I. I don't care. But I will pretend to take the Beckham side to make people angry. That's where I stand.

01:15:48

Okay. You're hot. Cool throne.

01:15:50

Cool Throne live. Yeah, they lost Brooks, but they did sign Phil Mickelson's team. The High Flyers signed Michael Assasso, who was the. He won the individual NCAA men's championship last year. Great personality, huge legs. Wear short shorts.

01:16:08

Huge.

01:16:08

But not anymore.

01:16:09

Huge legs.

01:16:10

Huge legs.

01:16:11

That's how we're objectifying in a good way.

01:16:14

Like. Like ideal legs.

01:16:16

But he can't do. He can't show those off on the lift tour anymore.

01:16:19

He can't. But he wouldn't been able to either way. So good signing.

01:16:25

So who are the other members of the High Flyers?

01:16:27

Don't know. Phil Mickelson.

01:16:28

Okay. Okay.

01:16:29

I'm an Aces guy.

01:16:32

Yeah.

01:16:32

High Flyers. That's. They got to come up with a better name. Why doesn't Live just steal names of. Of teams? Like, why don't we just have the live Yankees?

01:16:42

Yeah, that's not a bad. Not a bad idea. It's like, what are you gonna assume? Yeah, good luck.

01:16:48

Like the people. The live Fighting Irish. Live Notre Dame. Fighting Irish.

01:16:52

Yeah.

01:16:54

Get brand recognition.

01:16:55

It's. It's. They've had worse ideas before. Hank. Do you think that that Live will be around in five years?

01:17:01

No. Will you be able to live with that? Yeah.

01:17:05

Be all right.

01:17:05

Okay.

01:17:07

Because if. If you were a real live head, you would. You'd say, no, I can't live without Live.

01:17:12

I know, but I'm a Brookside, too. That kind of.

01:17:14

We are Brooks heads.

01:17:15

Brooks is the first domino.

01:17:16

There should be a team named the Moss. Like that grows on a tree. Live moss.

01:17:22

Live Moss. Oh, yeah.

01:17:24

To be hot.

01:17:25

It's not. Oh, yeah. But the Dos Equis guys back.

01:17:28

Yeah.

01:17:30

No.

01:17:30

Nah.

01:17:31

Okay.

01:17:32

That guy's for sale. He's trying.

01:17:34

Oh, okay. Are your hot seat.

01:17:38

My hot seat is going to be Zach.

01:17:42

Oh.

01:17:43

Because we got some cold news coming through. The blob is back.

01:17:46

Oh, it's so bad.

01:17:47

And The Blob. The. Here. I want to give you guys just the numbers, just the facts about what the Blob is going to be doing to us.

01:17:54

Imagine if the Rams one. Zach would be crying.

01:17:56

What do you mean?

01:17:58

What?

01:17:58

I mean, if the Bears. Whatever I saying, if the, if the.

01:18:01

The NERS Bears and NERS Bears had won, we would have had bare weather again.

01:18:05

So this weekend, these are the numbers for Chicago. Saturday low of negative 14 degrees, high of 6 degrees. Friday low of negative 12, high of 9 degrees. I told Zach those numbers and he got the thousand yard stare. Like, dear God, what have I done with my life? Like, I. I think Zach is afraid that he won't make it through the weekend.

01:18:30

You'll be fine, Zach.

01:18:31

How were the weather apps allowed to use the word high before those predictions? Can't say high of zero.

01:18:37

No, no. Zach, can I give you. Well, not really a. It doesn't really do anything for us, but have you seen that there's going to be like a catastrophic snowstorm that's not hitting us, it's hitting the rest of the country.

01:18:49

So everybody else gets this cold.

01:18:51

It's like Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, all these. They're. They're saying like be prepared to be snowed in for like six days.

01:18:59

Do they have like the infrastructure, like the plow trucks?

01:19:02

I don't know. But we're not getting hit be.

01:19:05

But there's a world that just comes here, right?

01:19:07

No, I don't think so.

01:19:09

No, the Blob keeps it away.

01:19:10

Yeah. Also, Zach, it looks like there might be some sun, which that does help. That's always like cold. Cold sucks a lot. But when it's, when there's. When it's sunny and cold, it's a little bit better.

01:19:21

I would like for Zach on probably it's gonna be the coldest on Saturday.

01:19:25

Yeah.

01:19:25

I, I want Zach to do cold reviews. Like, like get your camera going while you're inside, while you're bundled up and then go outside and just stand there and give your. Give your review on the cold.

01:19:36

Pre and post cold.

01:19:37

Yeah, yeah.

01:19:38

Current cold. I can do that for you.

01:19:40

Yeah, I think that'd be good.

01:19:42

Okay.

01:19:42

Your cool throne. My cool throne is Aliens. Aliens. Aliens might drop this week.

01:19:49

Like the new movie?

01:19:50

No, like, like there's Aliens might drop this week.

01:19:53

Okay.

01:19:54

That's what one analyst for the bank of England is thinking. So they wrote a message to the bank.

01:20:00

Did you just like lose all his money?

01:20:02

No, this person, it's a she.

01:20:04

Wait, women.

01:20:05

Women can't be bankers. Too.

01:20:06

Hank, is this just you because you owe him $40,000? No, but guys, aliens, who cares about football?

01:20:13

So they. This, this lady, she was a senior analyst in financial security at the bank of England. I think she worked there for about 10 years. She wrote a letter to Andrew Bailey, who is the governor of the bank of England, telling him, prepare for the possibility that the White House, the United States might confirm the existence of aliens as early as this week and just be ready for the outcome of that. And what's going to happen to the markets?

01:20:37

Okay, so what I'm.

01:20:38

That's more Epstein files are coming out.

01:20:40

Oh, so this is a distraction.

01:20:42

Must be maybe both.

01:20:44

I'm down.

01:20:45

You're down for alien. I. I think what she's saying is.

01:20:48

Like three weeks, though.

01:20:49

If you owe somebody money, you don't owe them money anymore. If there's aliens, that's smart because what's the meaning of all this, right? Like, what is money even? Hank, maybe as Cooley was right. Yeah. We all believe in money because we've agreed to believe that money exists. And that's work some worth something. But the second you throw aliens into the situation. Yeah. Forget about debts. So I'm going to follow the bank of England's guidance on this one way or the other, no matter what happens. But yeah, we might get aliens this week, boys. And it seemed like if there's real.

01:21:17

Aliens, like, not a report means nothing.

01:21:21

Yeah, we're not getting those through a report.

01:21:23

You want to see bodies if they.

01:21:24

If they. If they roll one out, we can have a conversation.

01:21:28

Oh, I was saying, like, I don't think. I don't think we're finding out about aliens through a report. We're finding out about aliens when they just show up and us up.

01:21:34

Yeah.

01:21:35

Do you think that, like, what if it's a body but it's not alive?

01:21:38

Nah.

01:21:39

You want a breathing like captured alien.

01:21:42

Yeah, I want them to like bring them out to the press conference to.

01:21:45

Hold their head up.

01:21:46

Like. Yeah. What if it's. We killed this alien alive.

01:21:49

They can't. Maybe they can't breathe oxygen.

01:21:52

Then we're good.

01:21:53

Oh, yeah.

01:21:53

Well, yeah. Who cares?

01:21:56

I think it'd be kind of up if aliens came right before the Super Bowl.

01:21:59

That would be really.

01:21:59

I know.

01:21:59

I'm saying give it three weeks.

01:22:01

Yeah.

01:22:01

Well, maybe not Jerusalem. That would actually be like. If they lose, it's like come to.

01:22:06

Chicago and I think that's actually his nickname. The alien. Yeah. Yeah. No one knows if he exists. Okay. My hot seat is the booth and my diet, because we got weigh in tomorrow, and it's not gonna. We've all been just walking around preparing each other for bad. We're basically like a doctor being like, hey, it's not good. It's. It's just not good.

01:22:30

Sometimes you're gonna have bad weeks, but it's. It's about getting back on that horse. And next week, we're gonna come back strong.

01:22:37

Stronger.

01:22:37

It's just so funny because we haven't actually weighed in yet, but to a man, all four of us have independently been like, hey, boys, just want to give you a little heads up as a team. I. I don't think I'm coming in with anything good. We.

01:22:50

We had catered lunch today. Shot three little pigs, I think his name. Really good Chinese food. And. And I had a plate, but it wasn't like the healthiest food. It was. It was. It was sandwiches and fried rice and. And, you know, orange chicken. I had a big plate. I walked back to our booth. It was like a cartoon where I walked past Max and I just hear him go, look at that plate. And I looked up, and there was.

01:23:14

Like a cloud of dust.

01:23:15

And Max, Memes and Zach were in there.

01:23:17

Oh, no. It was a good looking plate. Someone did point out that we could technically report that we're minus 170 pounds and just say it was Pug lost puck.

01:23:27

Yeah, good point. Yeah.

01:23:28

I had a lot of salad on that plate that I brought back. There was other stuff, but it was. But I. I made sure that I put mostly salad on the plate.

01:23:35

Did you have that dessert?

01:23:36

Nope.

01:23:37

Oh, that dessert thing either. That dessert thing was really good.

01:23:40

Looked really good.

01:23:40

Yeah.

01:23:41

I did have half a fried chicken sandwich, though.

01:23:42

I did too. We're down like £23 as a team. Yeah. The flu is doing a lot of work for us that you had in week one.

01:23:48

You're going to just have to keep firing somebody week after week after week. Like, we lost Pug. Not a firing. By the way, Pug's leaving. He's back in east coast. But yeah, next week. You want to lose? You could lose anywhere between 190 and 200x amount of pounds.

01:24:04

Yeah, that's you.

01:24:07

I'm not in the weight loss challenge. No, I'm. I'm getting swole. But who's.

01:24:11

Who are you?

01:24:11

Who's the 190? 200x pounds.

01:24:13

I was saying 190. I would guess, like, yeah, that's none of us, dude. Memes is probably around the. The 200ish. Zone.

01:24:21

We're somewhere.

01:24:21

Yeah. Yeah.

01:24:23

That's why it's a challenge.

01:24:24

And then we are somewhere. We are something.

01:24:26

It's a chat. It's a true challenge.

01:24:28

Yeah.

01:24:29

Life wouldn't be fun if you didn't have challenges. We're doing a challenge.

01:24:32

You were saying, like, who's 200x?

01:24:34

I thought you're talking about me, but I'm not. I'm not that big.

01:24:36

No.

01:24:37

Are you losing weight too?

01:24:38

No. Yeah.

01:24:39

You're just getting.

01:24:39

I would like to be 190. Yeah.

01:24:42

Not that big.

01:24:44

Yeah. 190 is not that one. One night is not that big. Yeah. Subjective weight is in the eye of the beholder.

01:24:53

Yeah.

01:24:53

Yeah. Big time.

01:24:54

Yeah. If you're on the moon, you'd weigh like a hundred pounds.

01:24:57

That's facts.

01:24:58

Why don't you just switch the scale to kg?

01:25:01

Good point.

01:25:02

We could do that. We could report big time. But yeah, the flu is like a weird week one result. You look back, you're like, how'd that happen?

01:25:10

We.

01:25:10

How do we lose £15 week one? Oh, yeah, the flu. My Cool Throne is. Hank.

01:25:15

Nice.

01:25:16

Hank. You're on My Cool Throne because I just saw this on Twitter. Robert Kraft said that the league is pushing for 18 regular season games, reducing the preseason from three to two games. And every team has to play an international game each season. So you've done it, you piece of.

01:25:35

Let's go.

01:25:36

That is such.

01:25:37

I. More football. That's all.

01:25:39

I heard every football podcast. Football guy.

01:25:42

It's actually not more football because you're losing preseason.

01:25:45

He took away preseason game.

01:25:47

Okay.

01:25:48

Same amount of football.

01:25:49

Meaningful.

01:25:50

That's in the eye of the beholder.

01:25:51

More meaningful football.

01:25:53

You know what meaningful football is? Football that takes place in the United States. America. American football. Watch soccer.

01:26:01

American football.

01:26:03

I listen. I'm. I'm all for expansion, okay? And new fans.

01:26:06

Do you want a British team? You do you want a team in London?

01:26:10

You want to make live NFL?

01:26:13

No.

01:26:13

Send the Jags there So mean Zach.

01:26:17

Send the jets there already has a team.

01:26:22

I. I would accept this.

01:26:24

I would accept it.

01:26:26

I didn't see that coming.

01:26:27

Memes.

01:26:27

If they move the jets, it would just be pain. You get pain out of your life.

01:26:30

If they move the team. Money.

01:26:32

You cut ties wagon.

01:26:34

Say that again.

01:26:35

You cut ties with the Jets?

01:26:36

Yeah, I'll cut ties.

01:26:37

And what would you do?

01:26:40

I don't know. Maybe find a hobby. Yeah.

01:26:42

You wouldn't become like a Giants fan.

01:26:44

No.

01:26:45

Become like a really sharp. Better. That'll never happen. Okay. I was trying to Help you? I mean, I could try. Yeah. Zach. Speaking of sharp betters, Zach has lost the competition. We'll get to that on Friday. But officially his lost competition.

01:27:00

I did clinch last place.

01:27:01

I don't think you won a game in the last month and a half.

01:27:03

No, it's tough.

01:27:04

It's not.

01:27:05

It couldn't actually really couldn't have been worse because I had like three consecutive weeks where I could flip it and not be in last, and then I didn't do it a single week. I made no Progress. I've been 16 and a half for seasons, for months. It's not good.

01:27:17

I don't know what to do.

01:27:18

I think I'm going to just feed myself the entire next season.

01:27:20

Yeah. Okay.

01:27:22

Might come out on top.

01:27:23

There we go.

01:27:23

All right.

01:27:24

What's your hot seat, cool throne?

01:27:25

My hot seat is this week is going to be sports that aren't hockey because. Did you guys see that all time goalie on goalie last night?

01:27:31

The goalie fight? Awesome.

01:27:33

Usually get one goalie that's a little bit more like. Like, I don't want to fight, but I guess I kind of have to. This was a good fight. They threw good hands. They. Neither one looked like too much of a. Yeah, it was great.

01:27:46

They both wanted it Go, buddy.

01:27:48

I love how. How hyped up the boys get when goalies get out there and fight. Like, both teams were like, that was awesome. I'm glad we got to see that.

01:27:54

It was so sick.

01:27:55

They got so much gear on as well in the beginning of the fight where it's like, I don't know if they could reach each other.

01:27:59

Yeah.

01:27:59

But then they just. So they bring it in close.

01:28:01

Yeah.

01:28:01

And I also respect both men going helmets off.

01:28:03

Yep.

01:28:04

Mm.

01:28:04

Yep. Okay. You fight.

01:28:06

My. My cool throne. This week is gonna be. Have you guys seen me any ranches circulating online recently?

01:28:12

What? Whatsoever?

01:28:13

Ranches.

01:28:13

Ranch.

01:28:14

Ranches.

01:28:15

Ranch. Like, Like. So Jake, Paul got a new ranch.

01:28:19

Okay.

01:28:20

You guys gotta see this ranch. It may be. This is how you. I think this is how you spend money if you're gonna be an adult and you're gonna buy. You're gonna go big.

01:28:27

Yeah.

01:28:27

6,000 acres. They're saying it's bigger than half the size of Manhattan. Landing strip. Wait, F.1 track.

01:28:34

That's. It's bigger than half the size of Manhattan. So it's smaller than Manhattan. Yeah.

01:28:39

Yeah. Considerably bigger than half of it.

01:28:41

So pretty big.

01:28:42

I've never been to Manhattan, but.

01:28:43

Okay, we're here online.

01:28:44

Manhattan. Pretty big. Decatur County, Georgia.

01:28:47

This Is sick.

01:28:48

Yeah, that is pretty cool.

01:28:49

Like a massive like gun range. Four miles of lakefront.

01:28:52

I agree. This is my. My dream is to have like a shitload of land and build a. A baseball field, have full court basketball and then just hire people to come every day that I can just beat, but they have to try really hard. So like I wake up on. On a Tuesday at 9am I go down to my baseball field. There's a pitcher down there who's gonna pitch me and I'm just gonna go fucking yard on him over and over and he's gonna be like, fuck, I don't have it today.

01:29:22

What happens when the guys you play ball with, they play so much and they try so hard that they get better?

01:29:26

Well, I'm going to pay them to make sure that they never get better. Okay. Yeah. How sick would that be, Max? You just hit bombs every day and the guys are just like, oh, I can't believe I hung that one.

01:29:38

Yeah, no, it sounds great.

01:29:39

Yeah, this is a pretty cool ranch.

01:29:42

This is a cool ranch. He's building a.

01:29:44

He's going to build.

01:29:45

He's building an F1 track and they're.

01:29:47

Going to put a neighborhood around it. So you're going to get. Buy a house to be on F1 track to race. But then you can also land your private jet at the landing straight.

01:29:54

Oh, that's sick. So he's.

01:29:56

Yeah, he's doing property development and he's.

01:29:58

Doing it for an audience of like 10 super neat.

01:30:03

What do you mean? What do you mean?

01:30:05

It's. It has to be rich enough. Has to want to race F1 cars.

01:30:10

Oh, for the people.

01:30:11

Yeah, we're going to buy and have a house on an F1 track.

01:30:14

I was going to say there's going to be people.

01:30:16

Oh yeah. I'm saying like the actual people are going to buy a house is. It can't be the biggest, hottest real estate market.

01:30:23

It kind of sounds to me like. Like the Pauls are just starting their own country.

01:30:28

Yeah.

01:30:28

Like they're sneaky. Having a rebellion.

01:30:31

There's a gas. He has a gas station in here.

01:30:33

Yeah, he's. He's building Monaco in Georgia.

01:30:36

Cool.

01:30:37

He's probably gonna have security, I would.

01:30:38

Imagine he has like a billion. He has like a billion different at he. He also has like the. The Travis Pastrana. He's got that thing. I don't know. I don't know what to call that.

01:30:49

Where he land. Yeah, he's got.

01:30:50

No, but he's got like the ATVs that like, and like a track like Pastrana had in his place. He's building that here. He's building. He's got four miles. Like, he can just do all the water sports and it's war. He's like, it's warm all year round there. It's. It's. It's not real life. It's like if you. He does how billionaires should spend money.

01:31:10

I agree. Yeah, I agree.

01:31:11

It's exactly how they should spend money.

01:31:13

Yeah.

01:31:13

This is so sick.

01:31:14

Just buy cool ass shit. Yeah. I mean, I, if, if I had his money, I'd be go karting every single day.

01:31:20

He said it's the largest residential dirt track in America.

01:31:23

Yeah, this is.

01:31:24

I didn't fact check that, but it's half.

01:31:26

It's almost half as big as Manhattan.

01:31:28

Bigger than half of Manhattan.

01:31:29

Bigger than half of Manhattan.

01:31:30

His driveway to get to his house is three. Is three miles long.

01:31:34

That's too far. That I don't know if it snows.

01:31:36

I don't like that.

01:31:37

But it doesn't snow.

01:31:38

What if he does? It's gonna snow this weekend.

01:31:40

He was going 1:30 on his driveway.

01:31:43

Into his house is Richie Rich.

01:31:46

And then he also said. He also kept saying he's got the best dirt in the world. I don't know what that means, but he kept saying he has the best.

01:31:52

Dirt, saying, enough, I'll believe it.

01:31:53

Can you get TV out there?

01:31:54

Also, I just showed this. That's an actual jeep from Jurassic Park.

01:32:00

Never seen it.

01:32:02

I. I don't think I have either. But that's still. That's still sick.

01:32:05

You know, that's pretty incredible. Max is in love with this.

01:32:08

Yeah. Oh, I.

01:32:09

You want to go move in with him?

01:32:10

I watched this the other night and like, like, then it kept getting sicker and sicker. I couldn't believe.

01:32:15

All right, so we got to get Max down there.

01:32:16

They don't have restaurants down there.

01:32:19

I. I don't even really eat that much anymore.

01:32:22

Pft.

01:32:22

Where's the meatball factory?

01:32:25

No, I mean, like, probably a height.

01:32:26

Requirement to go on a lot of these cars.

01:32:29

Good shot. Good.

01:32:30

Enjoy it.

01:32:31

I do. I do kind of mean that though. Like, can you do have to eat. Can you get food delivered, Max?

01:32:36

We do have to.

01:32:36

You don't think Jake Paul has like a staff of chefs that just cooking whatever he wants?

01:32:40

Sometimes you want, you know, you want Pizza Hut.

01:32:42

Jake Paul, if you're listening to this right now, or someone from the Jake Paul camp just. Just throw in a meatball factory just so Max could See it pop up and just like, he'd be the Leo meme. Me.

01:32:54

Yeah.

01:32:54

This is my meatball factory.

01:32:56

This is. This is a good use of money. I'll agree with that. Do you see that? Stan Cronky also just bought another piece of land. He's now the biggest landowner in the United States.

01:33:04

Whoa.

01:33:04

He has. All this property put together is bigger than Delaware.

01:33:09

Whoa.

01:33:10

We're bigger than Manhattan.

01:33:12

It's a small state. Yeah.

01:33:13

How about halves of Manhattan? How many halves of Manhattan?

01:33:16

I would guess that's probably 50 to 70 halves of Manhattan.

01:33:22

How much do you think of it is decent weather year round?

01:33:26

Probably most of it. I think most of it is in, like, the southwest.

01:33:29

Very. You think it's very flat? This is. I think this is 6,000 acres of super flat land.

01:33:33

Oh, that's what you want, right?

01:33:34

I would. I think so. Yeah.

01:33:36

But what you want a little, like.

01:33:37

What if it floods?

01:33:38

What if you want to, like, climb a mountain? Yeah.

01:33:40

I think that he said he needed to be flat because he wanted to. He needed the plane access. And you need flat land for.

01:33:47

For that.

01:33:47

Right.

01:33:48

He just. He just has his own jet, and it's just. He's going to be able to park it in his. In his house.

01:33:53

Sick. But does he have an ice cream machine?

01:33:58

Probably not. It looks like he's in way too good a shape.

01:34:00

Exactly. So the man doesn't have it all.

01:34:04

I'm gonna remember this ranch and everything that he bought the next time he has a fight.

01:34:08

Yeah.

01:34:08

It's okay. That was the other thing.

01:34:10

This was like buying. This entire thing was like a fifth of what he made off of just that last fight.

01:34:17

Of course. Yeah, of course.

01:34:19

So it's just like. It doesn't. It's just a drop in the bucket.

01:34:22

Yeah.

01:34:23

He's so rich.

01:34:23

But I think this is how you spill the bucket. This is a great spillage of your.

01:34:26

Have you, have you let yourself go yet? I feel like if I were to retire after 13 years in the NFL, I would get so fat so fast. I assume you're not doing that, but what has it been like?

01:36:43

Is it weird just being like, I'm retired, I'm done, I'm not going to train anymore?

01:36:47

Yeah, I think, I think the biggest thing is right now it doesn't feel too much different for me because usually this is the week that I kind of relax, you know, kind of let myself eat whatever I want to eat and then get back into training. So I think it'll be a little bit different, especially when guys start going back to OTAs and I'm not doing that. It's probably when it'll really set in. But I did, I did play old man pick up basketball this morning and I haven't done that in a long time because I didn't want to risk injury. So I Was excited to kind of get back out there and. And stay in shape.

01:37:20

Wait, so tell us how it went. Like, how was your game? Was it. Was it weird being out there for the first time in a long time because I assume you're an awesome basketball player?

01:37:29

It was. It was really weird, but it was so fun. I've been waiting for this to happen for a long time because I love basketball. I used to play when I was a young player. We had a bunch of guys on the team that would play. So in the offseason, we play a lot of basketball, but as soon as I signed my, like, first real contract, I was like, yeah, I don't think it's worth the risk of them not paying off my contract if I get hurt playing basketball. And, you know, you hear the stories all the time with guys getting hurt playing old man basketball, so. But all that to say it felt great. I'm a little rusty, and I'm definitely out of basketball shape, but it was. But it was a lot of fun.

01:38:06

Have you thought about how much golf you're going to play in late July? All throughout August this year, going in September? Have you. Have you even, like, started to comprehend how much golf you're going to be able to play for the first time during the summertime?

01:38:21

I can't wait. You could just fast forward me to that right now, and I would be. I would be very happy. It's. Unfortunately, it's negative. What is it negative 8 degrees outside here in Minnesota right now, so. Yeah, but I've been grinding in the simulator. I. I knew what I was doing. I was. I smartly put a golf simulator in my house a long time ago. So retirement life will be treating me well in there, getting ready. I already have a tournament next week that I'm going to be grinding for and. And then hopefully make a good appearance in Tahoe this year. We'll see.

01:38:51

I was going to say, not to bring up bad memories, but you kind of blew it in Tahoe this past year. I think you were, like, what, tied for? You were in top five going in the final round. You finished 11th. I'm not. Listen, you're a really good golfer, but you blew it. Can we. Can we maybe get a little focus on finishing strong?

01:39:08

That's the last two years for me.

01:39:10

I've been.

01:39:10

I've been. I think two years ago, I was in, like, third. I was in first after day one and then end up like, yeah, ninth or something. So I've blown it on Sunday. Sunday has been brutal for me. Can't make any putts. I lose my game somehow. But. But again, this is. Now that's my job. Like, before, I had to, like, train. Like, you know, you go back to OTAs, and I wouldn't play golf for a month and a half, probably just because you're. You're busy again. And then on the weekends, you got kids stuff, so I didn't play a lot of golf. And then. And then I was a little rusty going to Tahoe, but that's. That will not be the case this year.

01:39:43

Yeah, you had kind of a wild last season in the NFL, obviously, going back to the Vikings and then. And then going over to Pittsburgh to wrap the year up. And the way things ended in Pittsburgh, that was. That was a crazy team that you played for. Like, the Pittsburgh Steelers were. I don't want to say chaotic, but they were. They were a very fun team with the energy they brought, especially towards the end of the season. What was it like? What was it like getting to play with Aaron Rodgers and. And those guys?

01:40:09

Yeah, I mean, such a blessing, like you said, it was definitely a wild ride this year. Crazy. I mean, someone just asked me today, like, when you going on vacation? I'm like, I need to just be at home. It's been a crazy year. Just moved twice. Family traveling back and forth for games. But yeah, Pittsburgh was such a blessing. Coach T. To be able to spend a few weeks with a legend like that and just to kind of see how, you know, you see from afar. Obviously have a lot of respect for him from afar, but when you get in the room and just see how he operates, just his attention to detail, the way that he conducts team meetings and just kind of brings together the team and is that true. Leader was such a blessing to see and really cool. And I really picked up a lot of things from a leadership perspective. And then same thing with Aaron. Right. I've known Aaron a long time, played against him forever. Saw him from. From the other side of the field, but never, like, really saw his process and how. How he does things.

01:41:09

And those are the things that people don't see that when you see, you're like, that's why he's been so successful. That's why he's one of the best quarterbacks of all time. It's not just because he can throw the ball really well. It's his process. And it was really cool to see that. I mean, he has almost a whole system outside of the system that he's just carried with him throughout his whole career. So that was really cool to see. And how he kind of operates that, how he prepares guys and tests guys. I probably had never been so stressed ever in my life in practice because you just never know what he's going to throw at you to, to try to see, you know, what you know and, and how well you know it. So you could be on the same page on Sundays. But it was really cool to see that.

01:41:51

Do you think Aaron Rodgers retires because it feels like he has something left? I don't know. If you, you know, you know, playing with him in those last, you know, month and a half with Pittsburgh, would you agree that like his arm is still there, his processing is still there? Maybe his athleticism has waned a little bit. Who doesn't after 40? Do you think that he, if he wants to play, do you think he can still be a high level quarterback in the NFL?

01:42:14

Yeah, I mean, I think, I think my wife hopes he retires because if he doesn't, I might come out of retirement.

01:42:19

Oh, I like that. Breaking news.

01:42:21

But he, he's, I mean, he can still do it for sure. I think, I think for him it's going to come down to, I would imagine, I want to speak for him, but it'll come down to just whether he wants to or not. Right. I think he can definitely do it. Being around him, just seeing how he again, how he operated, how he practiced. I mean the guy, the guy is, you know, been playing for 20 some years and still every day of practice like treatment that's like it's a game and not missing practices. You know, he missed a few for, you know, to heal up his wrist, but other than that, I mean he's out there begging coach to do a two minute drill to get extra reps in that. And just the way he practices was, was really cool to see. And again, that's why, that's why these guys have success. They don't have success because they're crazy talented. They, they pair the talent with the hard work and preparation. Right. Like I've, I remember one of my best friends in high school, his dad always said like, preparation is the key to success.

01:43:17

And then you hear that and you're like, yeah, yeah. And then you like get to this level and you see why guys are, are great. Not good, but great. It's, it's that preparation and it was fun to see.

01:43:26

And with playing with Tomlin, I'm sure you got to see this up close for the first time and maybe you can explain to us what is the standard the standard.

01:43:35

I mean, I don't know exactly what.

01:43:40

You weren't there long enough.

01:43:42

It's a good thing you retired.

01:43:43

I don't know.

01:43:43

No, you don't know the standard. The standards are standard. It's the standard.

01:43:47

Yeah.

01:43:47

Standards. The standard.

01:43:50

What, what was.

01:43:50

I knew you were going somewhere then and I'm like, crap, I should probably know this.

01:43:53

Yeah, no, this is actually. It's good that you retired because you would. No one's going to pick you up after not being able to answer that question. Standard is the standard. It's. It's very clear. What was that last meeting like? We, we saw the reports. It sounded very emotional. Was it as shocking? Obviously you hadn't been there as long as some of these guys that were a little more emotional. But was it shocking when Mike Tomlin walked into that meeting and was like, hey, I'm done, guys?

01:44:19

It was because he didn't, he didn't start with that. Like, he, he didn't preface it in any way. Like it was just like a normal, like, Mike T. Meeting. Like, hey, like it wasn't good enough, you know, like, I appreciate your effort. Like all these things. I don't know exactly what he said, but. But it was kind of like his normal, like after game meeting, whether you win or lose, like, just talking about, you know, his appreciation for the effort and things like that. And then it was kind of the last thing was like, and by the way, you know, like, you know, I'm gonna step down, you know, and. And it was. I think it was most emotional because the way he said it was, was like he wasn't good enough, you know, like he didn't do a good enough job. And, and he feel. He felt like he's letting guys down. And, and that's when it gets emotional because you're like, no, no, I didn't do enough.

01:45:03

Right?

01:45:03

Like, you did your job. I need to do my job better. And I think that's where it got. Got emotional. Whether you were a coach or a player, you kind of like, like, man, like, if I would have done a better job like this probably wouldn't be happening. So, you know, tough to see a guy like that again, a legendary. The way he carries himself, the way he leads. I think coaches and players all just had so much respect for him till the very last day. You know, it's not like he just like cash it in the last few weeks or cash in good knowing that he was maybe going to step down or take a year off. He was, he was all In. And you felt that every day that, you know, you had a team meeting every day, and you felt it.

01:45:41

Yeah. So. So was there. Do you feel like it was. Maybe locker room code was broken? The fact that we found out so much about this meeting, like, we had tears. We had some I'm sorrys. Like, that was kind of weird that we found out. Unless you were the mole. Maybe I messed with the wrong guy.

01:45:56

Well, I feel like. Well, first of all, I don't know what's true and what's not true nowadays. Like, on the Internet, you just feel like I'm like, I don't know if that's actually been leaked or if people, like, made that up. Like, I really. I really don't. But, yeah, I mean, I think that's. That's kind of interesting. I mean, like, who's. Who's going to a media outlet right away and being like, yeah, everyone was. Was crying and hugging and so I'm not sure if that was, like, actually a real report or if that was just kind of like the fake ones. That was, you know, semi accurate, I guess. And again, like, there's a lot of different points of view. Right. Some guys maybe stayed after. I'm not. I'm not sure. Like, I didn't necessarily see a lot of that. So it is interesting. Nowadays you just don't know what to believe.

01:46:42

All right, so let's do some accurate reporting. Did you cry?

01:46:45

I did not cry. I'm not really a crier.

01:46:48

Okay.

01:46:48

But. And again, I wasn't there for very long, but I did. I did give him a hug. I told him how much I appreciated him. I mean, we had some amazing conversations and just some really cool moments over the, what, five, six weeks? I was there and. And really felt like I actually knew him a lot better than I did in the short amount of time we were together. So a lot of respect for him, and I was able to talk to him after. So that was. That was pretty cool.

01:47:15

How long was the hug?

01:47:17

Oh, it was quick because there was, like, 5, 000 people behind me trying to get a hug.

01:47:21

Yep.

01:47:22

And I had kind of an awkward, like, post hug. Kind of ran into a few guys, and then it was, like, in the middle of two hugs. So that was a little awkward. But.

01:47:31

But this is good reporting. We're gonna report it. Adam Thielen did not cry. Also shared an awkward, like, post hug with Mike Thomas.

01:47:40

Follow up on the hug. When you said. When you said, I'll see you later and you hugged him, did you guys Then do the awkward thing where you started walking in the same direction afterwards and you're like, oh, I, I guess we're going the same place. Should we. All right, see you later again.

01:47:54

Well, thankfully, no. There was, there was a line of people, like, going to get hugged, so I didn't have to do that awkward walk together after you already said goodbye. I'm actually horrible with goodbyes.

01:48:03

Yeah.

01:48:04

And actually really dislike them. So usually I'm the one that's like the, what is it? The Irish goodbye? Is that what they call leave without saying goodbye? That's usually me. So it was cool that I even got to. Obviously, that shows that how much respect I have for Mike T. That I did actually say goodbye and thank him.

01:48:21

Yeah. All right, follow up on the, follow up on the follow up of the hug. Do you think anyone in the line was like, this fucking guy. He's been here for six weeks. He's. He's taken one of our hugs. Yeah.

01:48:33

There might, there might be. I, that's, that's definitely a possibility. This guy doesn't even know him. Why is he hugging him?

01:48:39

We're just all about accurate reporting.

01:48:40

Yeah. Who was the first in line for the hug?

01:48:45

I have no idea.

01:48:46

Okay.

01:48:47

All right.

01:48:47

This is important stuff. This is really journalism over here. We're trying to get it right.

01:48:53

Help. You guys are actually helping my marriage right now because my wife, my wife says I don't ever have deep conversations. I feel like I'm having a deep conversation conversation right now.

01:48:59

Yeah.

01:49:00

I appreciate it.

01:49:01

We're talking about our emotions. Yeah, it's pretty good. So, I mean, I, I don't know if we're reading into this a little bit too much, but you did just kind of leave the door open when you're like, if Aaron comes back, maybe, you know, I'll, I'll think about it, too. Like, have you had regrets since retiring, what, four days ago? Have you had second thoughts about it?

01:49:19

No, I, I, I'm really content with, with it, you know, honestly, just, just wore out. I feel like I've given everything I've had for so long and just have never wavered from that. Like, I feel like I, I knew there was only one way to do it, and every day, just give full effort, attention, detail, and, you know, just doing that for 13 years, I'm, I'm pretty, pretty exhausted of that. I'm so excited for, like you guys said, some fall golf and, and summer golf, extended summer golf, but most importantly, to be able to coach my boys, my kids, and just be around for their sporting events and, and things like that. But yeah, I think it'll be tough. Like let's say it's, let's say it's end of October, November and, and a team calls and has a need at receiver, that's going to be a tough, tough one. But I also, like, I also have been so all in for so long that yeah, I've taken my off season training so seriously, like, I'm not going to do that. So I just don't think that at that point I would feel good about playing and playing at a high level and feeling good about that.

01:50:27

So I'll never say never, but I feel really good about, about where I'm at.

01:50:32

All right, that's good. Keep the door open. All right, so we, I had another question about a player you played with. We're, we're members of Bryces. So we like Bryce Young. We think that he's, he's been great in the last like couple of years. Really? What is it about him? You played with him a couple years there. He feels like it coincided with him kind of finding his way and you know, getting the playoffs this year. Are you, are you a member of Bryces? Are you going to join us? Do you think he's got a good future in the NFL?

01:51:00

I'm a full fledged member of that. I'm a huge fan of him. I sent him several text messages, you know, talk to him a few times on the phone this, this season, just how proud I was of him. And I saw it coming and honestly, which made it so hard to leave there because that was the whole reason why I was going to be done last year and the whole reason why I came back. And I think I said this a few times in the media, but it was like the whole reason I came back was number one, Bryce and number two, the leadership of the organization, just where they were at and where they were heading. And I felt really confident in that. And I never thought I was gonna leave and never had any thing in the back of my mind at all that I was going to leave and go somewhere else. So yeah, that was obviously tough. But so much respect for Bryce, just his, his way that he's handled adversity through his career. I mean, I was in that, in that room, in that building through some really tough times for him personally and just for the organization and for the team, you know, firing a coach halfway through his rookie year, kind of a mess on offense just with a lot of things going on, you know, coaching kind of Craziness, the coaches kind of battling each other within.

01:52:15

In the offensive room, especially. And then. And then, you know, just the next year, not having a lot of wins, him getting benched, him coming back and playing great at the end of the year, like, there's so many things that I'm just, like, so proud of him because especially at quarterback.

01:52:29

Right?

01:52:29

Like, the media kills these guys. You know, they kill him. And we all get. We all get. You know, we all get our fair share, but quarterback's a whole different level, especially when you're not winning as a team. And. And so he. He took a lot of. A lot of wrath and, you know, always good to see that good people, you know, good things happen to them. And he's one of those guys.

01:52:49

Yeah.

01:52:49

In addition to. To being supporters of Prices, we also. I speak for myself. I'm a member of nine tifa, so there's a difference, I think, between JJ and nine. And in your experience, limited experience playing with him in Minnesota. Could you tell when it was J.J. in the locker room and when it was 9?

01:53:08

I could, yeah, for sure.

01:53:09

What's the difference?

01:53:10

Like, yeah, tell us what it looked like.

01:53:12

First of all, I love that guy. And. And I got to see him in the off season. You know, when I was a Panther, I was in the offseason, he was here in the summer. I needed a quarterback throw to and had fantastic throwing sessions with him, and. And it really started to build respect for him and just his talent, his. His love for the game. But, yeah, I think he's got. He's got. And he takes a lot of heat for that, like, saying that. But, like, I feel like all of us as athletes have that. Like. Like, when I'm. When I'm on the field, I'm a different person. I'm not. I'm not Adam. Like, I'm not my. My son's dad. Like. Like how I treat them every day. Like, when I'm on the field, like, I'm a different person. Like, an attitude comes, like a mindset. And so, like, I understand where he's coming from. Like, he. He's a different person on game day, which he should be. Like, that's. That's part of the thing. And that's what makes a lot of these guys great when they. When they step across the line. Like, they're different.

01:54:08

And. And that's what I really, honestly, when I first started throwing with JJ and getting to know him, that's what I loved about him. I saw that. Like, I saw this, like, intensity when like, he started playing and, and stepping across the line, like this intensity and like this, this competitiveness and those are like, all right, this guy's going to have success in the league.

01:54:29

Yeah. Yeah. All right, so another one. We actually gave out this award.

01:54:33

We're.

01:54:33

We're big on the awards. On this show, we have a fullback award we give to the best college football fullback, and we gave teammate of the year award to Justin Jefferson. Do you think that's a fair award that we gave out? And it was basically because, let's just be honest, Minnesota didn't have. It was up and down quarterback play this year. JJ gets hurt, you got other guys coming in, and he could have freaked out at any moment, and it feels like he didn't freak out. So we gave him teammate of the year. Is that a fair award to be given to Justin Jefferson?

01:55:05

100, 100% earned, that guy. I mean, there's so many times that I would. I would pull KO to the side and be like, man, this guy's special. Like, he's different. And like you said, like just the adversary that was happening through the season. And just the guy that showed up every day, busted his butt. I mean, worked his butt off every practice, like, where he could have just relaxed. I mean, he's the best receiver in the NFL. He could just, he could coast or say, you know, I need. I need a day of rest, whatever. But, like, he's out there, like, competing every day and never complained. You know, I'm sure there was some frustration. Obviously, we all had some frustration, but it never showed up.

01:55:46

Yeah.

01:55:47

As a teammate, like, you appreciate that so much. And those are the guys that you want to have success. Like, you want to win for those guys. Like, why does that, why is that important for teams? Because everyone in the locker room, they want to win for that guy. They want to put in a little bit of extra effort. They want to do more in the weight room. Like, they want to practice harder for that guy, like, because they're like, this guy deserves a championship, you know, and. And so it goes along beyond just like, you know, being a good teammate. Like, that stuff really makes a difference on a team and, and is why he's paid so highly. Right. Because it's not just can he make plays on the field, but he's. He's just a great guy to be around and a great leader.

01:56:25

All right, so we did a good job with that award. Yeah.

01:56:27

So we should give ourselves an award.

01:56:28

We should get ourselves award givers for nailing it. Yeah.

01:56:32

So you had a long career in the NFL? Was it 12 years that you played? 13 years.

01:56:37

Who was 13? Yeah.

01:56:38

Who is the best player that you ever played with? Best teammate. Not, not best teammate in the sense of good guy, but like the best player that you ever saw close up.

01:56:49

I mean, I think Justin pretty much, hands down, I'd say Adrian Peterson is, is right there, obviously. But I just think. Yeah, I mean, I've never seen a guy just had so much consistency with everything stacked against him. I mean, he had every team. The only person they're trying to take away on our offense is Justin.

01:57:10

Yeah.

01:57:11

And he still has a thousand yards. Like, it's, it's crazy. Like, that's, that's a different type of consistency. You know, guys have good seasons year after year after year, but like, they're not. Teams aren't just like focusing on one thing to take him away. Like, that's what teams are doing against him. They're, they're, he's the only person that they're like, if he, he's not going to beat us, anyone else can beat us, and we're fine with that. But like, Justin cannot beat us. And he still goes out there and makes contested catches, makes the tough catches, runs after the catch, moves everywhere. Has to be really smart because a lot of different plays, a lot of different moving, you know, with motions and shifts and different alignments and so he's, he's got to be a really smart football player, which is not easy.

01:57:54

Can I throw out another name who's having an incredible career and probably underrated? Daniel Hunter. He seems like a guy who's got life figured out and just kind of like happy guy, but also just a warrior on the field.

01:58:08

The great thing about Danil is, is not a lot of people talk about him because he doesn't talk right. He's just so quiet and like, he's not going to pump himself up. You just don't really hear about his name. But like, we obviously played against him and he destroyed us. And then the next week he, you know, he had a pretty dang good game and was, was a game wrecker. But yeah, he's, he's unbelievable. I mean, practicing against him and, and hearing it, you know, I always, I always enjoyed like going to an old lineman be like, hey, like, is Danil really that good? Like, not just him, but like other guys. Right. Because you, you, you don't. When you're not. It's not a cornerback. Right. Like, I know if a cornerback is good or not good. Like, I'm. I'm playing against him, but like a defensive end, Like, I'm not going against him. I'm not having to block him. Like, I don't really know. And so when you talk to guys and you're like, hey, like, is he actually this good? Or, like, what's the deal with Danielle? And they're like, dude, he's unblockable.

01:58:59

Yeah.

01:58:59

Like, everyone is like, they're like, yeah, he's like, we don't know what to do. Like, it's not even fun in practice because, like, the guy's insane. Like, he's strong, he's quick, he's fast. Like, does he have a weakness? No, not really. He's long. And so, yeah, it's. He's a. He's a heck of a football player. And he was a great teammate, you know, Again, didn't. Didn't say a whole lot, but just showed up, worked hard, and again, those are the guys you always root for to have success.

01:59:24

What about CJ Ham? I thought I would have said CJ Ham. Best player that I played with. Yeah, Elite fullback. I love that they gave him a touchdown run his very last game for the Vikings. A guy that seems like he meant a lot to that organization.

01:59:37

Oh, the best of the best. I mean, you couldn't. You can't find a better human, a better actual, like, teammate. I mean, he's. He's a guy that, even though he's younger than me, I kind of looked up to and I went to with a lot of things, just how strong he is in his favor, faith, just the type of human he is, how he treats people. Really cool thing about Hammer is we played against each other in high school, college, and then played together in the NFL. So that was. That was pretty cool. And again, just so much respect for him, how he approached them. We've trained together our entire careers and spent a lot of time together, so I was so happy for him to kind of get those that last game at home, get the touchdown. I mean, like, you couldn't ask for a better storybook ending for him. And excited about what he. What he does post career.

When you went back to Minnesota, you got a glimpse into the, the defensive mindset of one Brian Flores. And I'm curious to know, going up against him in practice, is he addicted to blitzing? Like, physically, is, does he, does he have to blitz?

02:01:49

I would say, like, is there a word that's like, stronger than addicted.

02:01:55

For him?

02:01:56

Yeah, yeah. He, he, he does not know a world without blitzing. Yeah. And, and I thought it was interesting. I think they played. Was it Christmas Day? And I'm watching the game and like, like Detroit didn't have an answer for Cover zero. I'm like, I'm like, guys, like, for me, I'm like, like, that's what they do. Like, that's, that's like how they live and die. Like, like. And so that was interesting. But yeah, I mean, he's, it was cool to be able to sit because my lockers, two lockers down from Harrison Smith and, and I would talk to him all the time about it. Like, you know, what's, what's the deal? What's the game plan this week? How are you guys? And just hearing him talk about, about flow and just how he sees things and their, their connection. Right? Like, he gave, he gave Harry a lot of control to kind of be able to get out of stuff if he called a, a blitz. And like, they knew that they were prepared for it or they had an answer for it. Like, Harry had a lot of Control to kind of get out of that and, and do some different things.

02:02:56

And so just to. Just to hear some of those things, it was, it was cool to kind of get the inside scoop of what makes flow tick and kind of how he operates. And yeah, I mean, he just causes havoc. It's. It's cool to see.

02:03:09

Yeah.

02:03:10

I got a question about this year's playoffs because we obviously have the AFC championship game coming up where it's going to be a big story that Jared Stidham is going to play. Bo Nicks got injured, out for the season. From a locker room perspective, practice perspective, how you install the game, what is this going to be like for the Broncos this week? And is it a situation where you can have a backup come in and perform good enough to win a high leverage game to get to the Super Bowl?

02:03:37

The way I look at it is, is Sean Payton is. Is where I look, right. I don't really necessarily look at Stidham. I think I look at. At who's calling the plays and when I. The reason why I say that is because if it was like a offensive coordinator calling the plays that, you know, good offense coordinator, run pass play action, things like that. But like, Sean has been doing this a long time and he knows how to create separation for guys. Like, he's, he's going to scheme guys open. And so I think, I really, I really think that it doesn't change much for them. Obviously, Bo, like, playmaker. Yes. Is it going to change? Yes. But I think the guys are still going to get open. He's. He's a capable quarterback. He's been around a while. He's been in that system. And I think, I think Sean is kind of the tipping point where, where I think they. They'll be just fine. Obviously, New England's defense is playing really well, flying around. I mean, that was, that was an unbelievable defensive performance on both sides there against Houston. And so I think it'll be.

02:04:40

It'll be tough for them, but I just, I just think it won't look as different as you would think with a backup quarterback that hasn't played all year.

02:04:47

Yeah.

02:04:48

Is there anything that. That the receivers are going to do differently to help out a guy that has less experience?

02:04:53

Good question.

02:04:54

That will be the challenge. And that and that. And that's what people don't understand is, is it takes a long time to get on the same page with a quarterback. It's not just. You can't just like. Yes. Like, do you run the route on the. That's called. Yeah, for sure. But like there's just a little bit of. Every quarterback's a little different how they, how they want you to run certain things. Is there certain checks that they're going to call? The line of scrimmage in the run game? You know, a lot of times the run game, you know, the run alerts, the run pass option stuff is kind of on the quarterback and every quarterback kind of has their things that they like or, or sometimes, you know, it's the same place called. But this quarterback, he's probably going to throw to, you know, this route more often than this one in this same concept. And so you kind of just try to got it. It takes time to get on the same page. So I think for those receivers, I think this week is going to be like, all right, we gotta like go.

02:05:43

Like we can't just do walkthroughs and things like that. Like, as much as we want to feel fresh on game day, like it's probably more important to get on the same page of how he's going to throw these balls. Like, what can I be, what can I be ready for in certain concepts? And you know, some quarterbacks are more aggressive, right? Like you're on the backside and a lot of times you're probably 99 not getting the ball. Well, he might come back there a little faster and get the ball out and give you the opportunity. So just kind of feeling that through practice getting full speed reps, I think they might not be as fresh on Sunday, but I think it'll be worth it to get those full speed reps.

02:06:17

Yeah, My, my buddy Aaron Foster had an idea last week, week. And when he said it, I thought it was the stupidest idea ever. But you might appreciate as a receiver, I, I know people like it was a polarizing take, but he said that receivers should get all the, all the credit for the yards after the catch. That quarterbacks. That shouldn't be a passing yard after the ball is caught because you did all the work after the fact. So you would get more stats than the quarterback. What do you think about that?

02:06:44

Well, I would, I would take it one step further. I think the OC should get some credit for that too. Because a lot of times it's like scheme, right? Like can you, can you, can you call the right plays against, against the right coverage? Right? Like if it's zone coverage and there's, there's a lot of, you know, there's plays that are a lot better versus zone than they are versus man and there's plays versus man that are a lot better than versus zone. And so I think a lot of times it comes down to the OC's play calling that. That really gives you opportunity for run after the catch. And then obviously, like, there's just guys that have a knack for breaking tackles, catch and run. I mean, look at Jamar Chase. Like, that's not the OC's play calling. Like, he's, He's. He's making that himself. I mean, he's catching the ball in traffic, breaking a tackle, spinning off a guy and running for 50. Like, that's not the. The OC or the quarterback. Right. That's. That's him. So there is. There's a little bit of, you know, give and take there, but. But for the most part, I think, you know, the quarterback giving you catchable ball, being able to come downhill and then oc, like, you know, kind of really knowing playing that, that, that chess game of when are they going to play, man?

02:07:57

So we can have those pick routes, give you some space to be able to catch a run. I think it's huge, too.

02:08:02

Yeah. Yeah.

02:08:03

Adam, I had one last question. This has been so awesome. Congrats again on an incredible career. Hopefully we see in Tahoe. It's the Roback question. R, H, O, B, a C, K.com promo code. Take 20% off your first purchase. Q, zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts. Roback.com. by the way, we need to get you. Maybe next fall you come to the office because we have a full basketball court and you can just piece us up, play basketball for a few days. We'll maybe get that set up. That would actually be very fun. Actually, Kirk Cousins said that he'd come when he retires. He's probably not going to retire, but he said he wants to play basketball, too. So we could just get. We get all the boys in here and just have you guys kick our ass for anything we've ever negatively said about anyone. That would be fun. All right, my last question. Because we. We did some good journalism earlier, I want to actually do one last piece of journalism. I don't know if we've asked you this, so if I. If it's a repeat, I apologize to the awls. I don't think it is.

02:08:54

Can I take you back to Teddy Bridgewater tearing his knee in practice? Did you cry then? Or possibly puke?

02:09:05

Oh, man, I didn't. I didn't do either, but I think I was in probably the most shock I've ever Been in other than. Other than when we missed the 27 yard field goal against the Seahawks. That was pretty shocking as well. Yeah, but. But no, honestly, that was just a crazy moment. Again, you. We talked a lot about just so much respect for guys and guys you just want to like cheer for and guys to have success. I mean, like, Teddy is like one of those guys and one of the best of the best as far as a teammate, a person, just how he treats guys. And then just like where he was at in his career, like he was. He was playing so well and we hadn't started the season yet. I get that. But still, like, like there was so much promise for that team. Our defense was like lights out. Coach Zim, you know, had those, those. Those guys just locked in. There was so. There was so much promise that year that when that happened, it was like the life just got sucked out of the whole team. And you could feel it.

02:10:09

The moment it happened, there was just no words. No one, no one was saying anything. No one could move. Everyone's just like standing there watching and like, couldn't move. Even when he left the field, like, no one knew what to do. And it was really the only moment I've ever been a part of that was like that again, no matter who it was. Like, that's horrible. But when it's a guy that you have so much respect for and so much excitement for, when that happens, you just. You just don't even know what to do or say. And so glad that, I mean, that dude's. That dude's the best. I mean, he's still playing, you know, coaching high school football. Come back and playing and. And I know those guys loved him in Tampa because what a fun guy to have in the locker room. But yeah, crazy moment. I mean, I was literally like 10ft from him. I was in the back. I was out that play. We were just doing like a jog through and it happened like right in front of me. And it was interesting because Teddy's kind of like. He's kind of like Gumby, you know, he's just kind of like loose and kind of like he just kind of falls weird.

02:11:10

And so when he did, it wasn't like surprising that he just like stumbled and fell and. And so it didn't. It wasn't like shocking that the scene, the way it happened or like. So it was kind of like normal. And so for that to happen on such a weird, you know, slow motion, it wasn't fast paced, full speed, guys flying around. No, it's like slow motion walk through tempo and he just stumbled weird and fell weird. So that was just really shocking.

02:11:40

Yeah, yeah. It seems like an all time guy, Teddy. Just everyone that's ever played with him has nothing but the best things to say. I, I've got one more, more big J, Capital J journalism question for you. Your reaction to a tweet actually that was posted this year that you ended up becoming the, the final prophecy for it was Mike Tomlin will say something like, we can't eat soup with forks, we need spoons. Then the Steelers will sign a 2018 Pro Bowler to the practice squad. You were a Pro bowler in 2018. This book, this tweet was put up on November 30, 2025. You became a Steeler December 2, 2025, and you played really well for the Steelers. I, I don't mean for this to be a knock against you because you still, you showed that obviously you could still play in the league. My first question was, have you, have you seen that tweet? And then how long after you signed with the Steelers was it brought to your attention that you were actually the person that made this come true?

02:12:37

I had never heard of that, so that was fantastic. But maybe because I didn't sign to the practice squad, I was just like claimed off waivers.

02:12:45

Yeah, yeah.

02:12:46

But it would have been a lot. It'd have been that have been really cool if I would have, you know, got released, not cleared waivers and then signed the practice world. That'd have been perfect. But that's, that's crazy. Well, and then the. There, that reminds me, there was the other one of Aaron Rodgers in the summer talking about the last. Would someone ask him a question, like games on the line, last game of the season against the Ravens to go to the playoffs. And like he, he said something that was like pretty much spot on what happened. So that's crazy.

02:13:16

Yeah. But yeah, you were the, you were the Mike Tomlin prophecy.

02:13:19

Did he ever say, we can't eat soup with forks, we need spoons?

02:13:22

I never heard that one. I never got these like good like, like quotes. I feel like he was, he was, he was pretty locked in at that point in the season where there was no B.S.

02:13:32

Yeah. Yeah.

02:13:33

I love it.

02:13:33

That's. I mean. Well, he probably, I mean that's probably why you didn't get any of the quotes. You didn't know the standard was a standard. And that's also why you got an awkward hug from him.

02:13:41

That's true.

02:13:44

Adam, you're the best man. Appreciate it. Congrats again on retirement. And hopefully we see in Tahoe. Let's. Let's not blow it on day three. Maybe we'll come and follow you, and we can. We can keep you. You focused, and anyone who bothers you from the crowd would be like, hey, leave him alone. He's in the zone.

02:13:59

Yes. Make sure, like, make sure on, like, Saturday after the round, like, you come up to me and be like, hey, remember, like, don't blow this. Like, we talked about this. Let's go. Walk in. Like, I need that. I need that. Like, I just need that encouragement, you know?

02:14:12

Okay. I love it. All right, well, thanks so much, man, and congrats again.

02:14:16

Appreciate it, guys. All right, talk soon.

02:14:18

See ya.

02:14:19

See ya. Before we get back to an interview with Patty Pimblett, Patty the Baddie. He's brought to you by Campbell's. It's soupy season. Hank's thinking soupy. Hank's thinking really, really soupy with his New England Patriots. Maybe some Campbell's, Maybe some New England clam chowder for your soup, Hank. And you know what I'm craving, though? I'm just craving soup. I'm not craving soupy. I'm not feeling soupy. I just know it's soup season.

02:14:44

Blob season is soup season.

02:15:22

Okay, we now welcome on a very, very, very, very, very special guest, former coworker. Wish he was still our coworker. It is Patty the Baddie, Patty Pimblett Getting ready for UFC 3 24. On Saturday night, he is fighting for their interim lightweight championship of the world against Justin Gaethje. Patty, great to see you. How. How are you doing? How's every. How are you feeling? I mean, we miss you so much, but how you feeling?

02:15:50

Yeah, it's great to see the boys again. It's been too long. But I'm, I'm boss lad. I'm brilliant at the minute. Cannot wait for this. This is a, this is going to be spectacular.

02:16:01

Yeah.

02:16:02

Yeah. How's the body doing?

02:16:03

Feeling boss. Feeling unbelievable. Best I've felt training lowest me weight's been. I've fat for once. I've got no injuries. Odd. So we're, we're ready to kill.

02:16:15

Yes.

02:16:16

I love it.

02:16:16

Yes.

02:16:16

What are you down to now? What's, what's the weight at today?

02:16:20

169. Today lot.

02:16:21

Okay.

02:16:22

I'm lighter than I was before I started calling wafer Chandler.

02:16:27

So what do the next like three days look for you in terms of weight fluctuation? Like how, how low are we going to get down and then how, how far back are we going to climb?

02:16:35

Well, obviously I'm gonna get to 155. I mean I'm gonna weigh in at 155 and then I'll get back in the cage about 180. 185.

02:16:43

Okay.

02:16:43

That's awesome.

02:16:44

And then when you win, we're gonna have fun and get to eat whatever we want.

02:16:47

Yeah, and then we win. And then we got up to £200.

02:16:52

I love it. Wait, so how was camp overall for you this time through? Was it a good camp? I mean, how, how long does camp last before a fight?

02:17:00

This one's been about eight weeks, which is nice. Like when I thought Chandler, I only found out six weeks out. So only had a six week camp this time about eight weeks. So prep's been brilliant. It's the best camp. About that now it sounds very cliche, everyone says it, but it's the best fight camp I've ever had. Everything's went smoothly. Even training over Christmas and New Year. It's not, not nice sitting around watching everybody cheesecake on a cheese board while you can't eat on.

02:17:27

Yeah.

02:17:28

What's the best time of the year to fight anyone?

02:17:30

Anything that's not January. February.

02:17:32

Yeah, yeah, yeah, that makes sense. Would. Wait, so I saw, I saw that you, you said that you'd be open to boxing. Is that a real thing? Maybe after this where you. Would you be a good boxer? Do you think you could? I mean, I know that you're incredible with your hands, but is that something you actually have like considered potentially doing? Like, I mean, Patty the baddie beating up Jake Paul would be awesome.

02:17:55

Yeah, it's just something I got asked about, know what I mean? And obviously I said I'm a prize fighter if the money's Right, then. Yeah. Well, I'm not a boxer. I'm an MMA fighter, and I'm focused on winning the UFC world title and defending it and trying to become a two way champ in the future. But if someone wants to offer me an obscene amount of money to beat up an influencer, then I'm there.

02:18:17

Yeah.

02:18:17

Yeah, that sounds like a great plan. In this fight in particular, there's a little storyline that's been going on for the last few years, ever since you started working at Barstool. I remember Dave got into with Gaethje online. Right. And didn't Gaethje say he wanted to kick Dave's ass for hyping you up for saying that you were a great fighter?

02:18:32

Oh, well, that. That just drives me on even more to want to punch his head in, doesn't it?

02:18:36

Yeah. You're fighting for all of us. Yeah.

02:18:38

For. For Dave's pride, for his legacy. Really? Yeah.

02:18:41

I like that this can be for Dave.

02:18:44

Yeah. What? Patty, I saw a. A report the other day that it might have been a little bit longer than that, that you are, according to Michael Bisping, the. The most hated man in the ufc. Is that. Do you think you're the most hated man? I feel like that's something you would like to. You'd actually embrace it because you're. You're not only a fighter, but you're a showman. And if people are hating you, they're selling. It's selling tickets that's buying pay per views. Is that. Do you. Do you feel the hate?

02:19:13

I think I'm loved and hated. Like, I think that must have been a couple of years ago. What? Bispin said that.

02:19:17

Okay.

02:19:18

Must have been after a 4 Jared Gordon at that close fight. But I always say it like I'm loved and hated. Whether you hate me, you're tuning in to watch me hopefully get knocked out, which will never happen, or if you love me, you're tuning in to watch me win. So all that matters is ours.

02:19:35

Yeah. People care about you one way or the other. I. I did see something that was from this week. It was from Armin Sarukin. I don't know if I pronounced his name right, but he started to talk some about you and I. I need to know if it's on site for us if we see this Armin guy. He said it's Chubby Patty fight week, but I'm doing the press run. Wake up, fat ass, and get to work. It's not a good look for the ufc. What the. Is this guy's deal.

02:20:00

He's just an absolute helmet, you know what I mean? He's the worst tool ever. Talk, like. And then doesn't back it up because he pulls out a fight the night before the weigh in.

02:20:12

Yeah.

02:20:13

Ten fights down, like, so he's not a real fighter. What it is like, this family, a millionaire. So he's out of everything, handed to him on a silver platter with caviar. And he thinks that he deserves that statement when it comes to being in the ufc, when you've got to work for everything that you get in the ufc.

02:20:30

Yeah, it doesn't work. It doesn't work like that.

02:20:32

You need to. It's the old. It's hard to do road work in. In silk pajamas. You know, Marvin Hagler said that. Do you feel that, like, as you've gotten bigger, have. Has your drive, like you've gotten more money, Are you able to still have that same drive as, like, an underdog from Liverpool?

02:20:48

No, to be honest, the opposites happen with me because I've had. I've had twins, you know what I mean? And everything I do now is I work even harder for them to provide to them. So I just. I don't think I've ever worked this out or being as disciplined. And it's going to continue until I retire because I'm fighting to put food in their mouths and clothes on the back.

02:21:10

Yeah. Yeah. Wait. Congrats on the twins, by the way. Boys or girls?

02:21:14

Girls.

02:21:14

Okay. Are they. Are you gonna let them fight someday?

02:21:19

If they want to, like, but I'd rather them know.

02:21:21

Yeah. Yeah. I think that's fair.

02:21:23

You're taking all the punches for.

02:21:25

Yeah. Wait, I want to go back to something. What. Can you explain to me what a helmet is? I love that as a. As a. As a dis.

02:21:33

A helmet is your bullet.

02:21:37

Okay. Now I need an explanation of that.

02:21:39

Well, the tip of your penis.

02:21:40

Oh, okay. Got it. Got it. He's a helmet. Got it. I. I thought it was something. Okay. That. I feel stupid now. That makes sense.

02:21:47

Yeah. And when you say absolute before, it sounds way better. Absolutely, absolutely. This guy's a absolute.

02:21:52

I was thinking more like, like a kid who had to wear a helmet. Like, you know, who, like, his head was misshapen or something. Like one of those situations.

02:22:00

Yeah.

02:22:01

Wouldn't be able to say that nowadays.

02:22:03

No, you wouldn't. You can instead call him the tip of a penis. I like that.

02:22:07

Yeah. Misshaped bellend. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How are you feeling about. About Liverpool?

02:22:13

How.

02:22:13

How about these reds?

02:22:15

But Playing shotgun at the minute. Lads can't even beat the newly promoted sides at all. It's sad state of affairs, but we'll get through it, lad. We've had worse times than this.

02:22:27

Yeah.

02:22:27

Yeah.

02:22:27

I think we talked to you when you were in the studio about how you feel about. About England in general. Are you going to be attending any World cup games? Are you going to be rooting for.

02:22:35

I don't know, to be honest.

02:22:36

It depends.

02:22:37

Depends when I end up fighting earlier after the beat. Justin. I do plan on going to a little World cup game or two when it's in Miami and stuff like that. So we'll just have to see what happens.

02:22:48

Yeah.

02:22:49

And when is that fight going to happen? Because I heard that he wants to have it in like April.

02:22:53

Yeah, that's not happening. June, July, you can. I've waited for him. He can wait for me.

02:22:58

I like that.

02:23:39

Yeah. Do you have a prediction for Saturday night? What? What are you giving out? A public prediction of what you're going to do to Gaethje.

02:23:46

Yeah, we're not. We're not gonna see championship rounds. He's getting finished in the first three.

02:23:51

Oh, okay. I like that finish. Ideally, how would you like to finish them if you could draw it up?

02:23:56

I'd love to knock them out on a man with a cartwheel kit or something known to me, something spectacular. But I'm gonna finish a Madden. That's all that matters. He gets finished in three.

02:24:06

Yeah.

02:24:07

Yeah.

02:24:07

Can you give me some more English like disses that you have? Like when someone. Someone's being like an. What. What do you say? They're. They're being.

02:24:18

Call someone a beaut.

02:24:19

A beaut. Okay.

02:24:21

Yeah.

02:24:21

Okay.

02:24:22

What else?

02:24:23

What about. What about like. Do you say. Do you drop friendly or a cunt derogatory?

02:24:28

Yeah. No, I come. Can be both. You can be like. I love that Cunt. Or it can be. Are you stupid little ways.

02:24:38

Yeah.

02:24:38

Yeah. What about like a scumbag? Like a shitty person?

02:24:44

A dog or a rat.

02:24:46

Oh, I like that. I like a dog.

02:24:48

Yeah, but dog. We can take dog to be a good thing sometimes in America.

02:24:52

Yeah. What? Yeah.

02:24:54

What about, like, a what? What about, like, in the uk, dog is a bad thing. You know what I mean? Like, he's a dog. Means, like, he. He'd run. Yeah, but a. I'll just call him a.

02:25:08

All right.

02:25:08

What about like a weak person? Like a. Someone who's, like, doesn't, you know, back up any. Anything.

02:25:12

I call people a ass.

02:25:14

Oh, I like that.

02:25:15

Ass is good.

02:25:16

I like that.

02:25:17

No assness.

02:25:17

Yeah.

02:25:19

I have new ones. Like, me call people a mushroom and a sausage.

02:25:23

A sausage. I love a sausage. Oh, wait, so what. Give me a context of how you call someone a sausage.

02:25:31

Just someone say a little sausage.

02:25:34

Yeah, that's good.

02:25:35

That's a really good one.

02:25:36

That's good.

02:25:37

I. Yes.

02:25:38

I'm curious because we always talk about, like, the sleep patterns that you have to get into before you play at a football game. And some coaches think you got to sleep good the night before. Some coaches think, like, two nights before, try to get a good night's sleep. Do you have, like, a sleep regimen that you try to get locked into?

02:25:53

No, I just try and have a good night's sleep every night. I mean, I don't do no regimens or. I'm not unplanned. I just sign up at least seven hours every night.

02:26:02

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was actually talking to Spider earlier today, and he was. He was reminiscing about the time that you guys hung out before one of your fights. And he said that you put down an absolutely legendary amount of ice cream the night before a fight that you went to a Ice cream.

02:26:16

Miami.

02:26:17

Yeah. In Miami. Yeah. Can you. Is that normal for you? Can you walk us through what your ice cream order is the night before a fight?

02:26:21

Yeah, I.

02:26:23

The night before the fight, like the day before, after you've weighed in that night, you can ease a lot. I mean, you can do what you want, and you want as many carbs in you as possible. And obviously milkshakes and ice cream full of carbs. So it's slow. The sugar, what your body needs after doing a weight cut. So Friday night, I'll be doing the same thing.

02:26:45

I love it.

02:26:46

What's your order?

02:26:47

Yeah, I love. I love a milkshake, lad. Like peanut butter and chocolate milkshake, something like that. And there's actually a ice cream gaffing out hotel, isn't there? What's loving Delightful. So I'll be in there ordering all sorts of.

02:27:01

Yeah, I love that. I don't know if you know, you definitely don't know this, but I bought a soft serve ice cream machine that's in the office. So we have ice cream every single day at the ready. It's like an industrial ice cream machine. I want to see you come here and put some work on it.

02:27:18

Yeah, that sounds real good, love. I'd be into that. Me.

02:27:22

Yeah. All right, so I have one last question about, about the fight and everything that's coming up. So again, on Saturday night, Patty is going to be there. He's going to end Justin Gaethje in the first three rounds. It's UFC 324. It's the Roback question. R H O-B A C K.com promo code. Take 20% off your first purchase. Q Zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts. Roback.com promo code take. So my last question about the fight is on like the, the two days I know you got to put the weight back on. So weigh in is Friday. Then you got to put the weight back on. Are you doing anything physical this week or are you just like kind of mentally just getting ready or like because you don't want to get hurt, right?

02:28:02

Oh yeah, I'm still training. No, I mean be going the PI at 4 o' clock and doing an hour session, being on the treadmill this morning. So I'll be doing that up until I'll be training again 7 mil. Saying later said mill train tomorrow, probably 7 mil Thursday morning. And then all about the way cut, do a little, do a little pod session on Thursday before to start doing my weight cuts.

02:28:27

I love it.

02:28:28

And, and what's the plan for, for the day of the fight? Like I always see people backstage.

02:28:34

I don't do not on the day of the fight. I'll just chill, let me body recover and then it's all about the fight. I mean, I don't want to use any, expend any energy doing anything else apart from the fight.

02:28:44

Yeah, when I see people in the locker room and they're, they're, you know, just sitting there, it feels like they're just wishing that time passes faster so they could hurry up and get in the octagon.

02:28:52

Like what are you doing for that? I'm sitting. Yeah, I'm sitting there. I'm normally sitting there eating some sweets or something. Know what I mean? Watching the other fights and then just a nice warm up, you know what I mean? Get yourself. Get your whole body limber and get yourself nice and warm. So you're ready to go.

02:29:07

Yeah.

02:29:08

Yep. We're gonna be rooting for you.

02:29:09

Yeah, Big time rooting for you. Do you get. Do you get a little extra juice when the crowd starts doing the. Oh, Patty the baddie. Because every time your name comes up, that's it just ringing in my head. Do you get a little extra. Extra juice from that?

02:29:21

Yeah, it gets you going a little bit more. You know what I mean? It makes you feel it and want to. Want to perform even better for the crowd.

02:29:29

Yeah.

02:29:29

Yeah.

02:29:30

I love that.

02:29:30

I'm gonna be. I'm gonna be ready. We need the crowd to do that for you.

02:29:33

You're gonna knock him the out.

02:29:34

Yeah, you are.

02:29:35

It's gonna be great.

02:29:35

Yeah, you are.

02:29:36

Don't you worry, boys. He's getting dealt with. He's getting his head smashed in. He's not gonna be playing golf for a few weeks, believe me.

02:29:43

I love it.

02:29:45

Let's go.

02:29:45

I love it. All right. Well, Patty, we're rooting for you, man. It was great to catch up with you. And I'll see you in Chicago this year.

02:29:52

Definitely. Yes, Chicago and see you.

02:29:55

So we'll come. Do. Come to a Cubs game. We'll. We'll do the ice cream. We'll just have a good time. We'd love to host you. We got a big warehouse. We got everything here.

02:30:03

Maybe choke somebody out.

02:30:04

Oh, yeah, yeah. We'll spin the wheel and you could choke someone out.

02:30:08

Sounds good. You just let me know that I'm there.

02:30:11

All right, Patty, you're the best man. Best of luck on Saturday night. We're rooting for you coasty fellas.

02:31:33

We got pardon your takes. Pardon your takes. By the way, did you know that Major league baseball, I believe, is announcing hall of Famers tonight?

02:31:41

Great job, baseball. Great job, baseball.

02:31:43

Perfect. I just. I just went to ESPN to check college basketball score and it was like, who's getting into the hall of Fame?

02:31:50

Is anybody getting in this year?

02:31:51

I was like, what? What? I see Barry Bonds right now on the main page. I think it's Andrew Jones. Yeah, Andrew Jones.

02:32:01

Andrew Jones and Carlos Beltran. Okay. Andrew Jones should be a hall of Famer. Yeah, it's. It's been too long.

02:32:08

Okay, partner takes.

02:32:10

Hank, I'm ready to say it. The goal posts are magnetized. Since the NFL put chips in the ball, doinks are way up. I have zero data, but the timing is suspicious and the sound is too perfect.

02:32:22

Explain that the doinks have gotten louder.

02:32:25

I like this.

02:32:26

They've been micing up the. The doink poles. And so when you hear them, they get louder. They're more like bonks now. But. Yeah, there's nothing like a good. There's nothing like a good doink that just. It gets people out of their seat a little bit. But I do agree that we've had more than we have in the past.

02:32:43

Yeah, I think it's. I think he's right on about this.

02:32:47

And I think when it changed was that Super Bowl. The Chiefs, Eagles. Yeah. No doing spot. Yeah.

02:32:52

You have to do again this year.

02:32:54

That was a typical. I got a ride. No, no. Doinks is hot. It's been a hot bet recently. What? What? Max.

02:33:00

Last year.

02:33:01

Last year it's Super Bowl. One for one in the last one. Oh, just Super Bowl. Yeah, I was gonna say there was a.

02:33:05

There's a doink last night.

02:33:06

Yeah, yeah.

02:33:07

No, I'm saying in the Super Bowl. That's my bet.

02:33:09

Got it.

02:33:10

No doinks.

02:33:12

Can I just share something with you? Guys, that, that I hate to admit because it means I might be getting old. I switched to 4K last night on, on YouTube TV when I was watching and I watched maybe like 10 minutes an hour behind.

02:33:29

YouTube TV does that though.

02:33:32

I was watching and I saw everyone being like, oh, we got a ball game. Oh, we got a ball game. And it was the Miami run. And I was like. I was in the second quarter. Oh, man.

02:33:44

I actually did that.

02:33:45

Like, what the.

02:33:47

I was thankfully in the first. I don't know why I did this, but I switched over to the, the McAfee broadcast and they were a completely different drive ahead of me.

02:33:55

Yeah.

02:33:55

I was like, oh.

02:33:57

Oh, that. Yeah, that was what it was. It was, it was. I watched, I was watching the doink in the first half and everyone was like, game on. And I was like, why is it came on. It was a doink. And then I realized I was so far behind.

02:34:10

I've done that a couple times. Usually it's. It's not football, but there is a difference. Like I. When we watch stuff at home.

02:34:16

Yeah.

02:34:17

Like when you're watching at work. Big Cat is like the best sports watcher in these walls when he's on the clock and he will see a goal. Like if we got hockey. Yeah, like a hockey. Over on the upper right hand tv, he'll tell you, oh, there's a goal before the puck even goes in.

02:34:30

Yeah.

02:34:30

But when you're off the clock and you're watching sports for leisure, it's almost like you take your eye off the ball a little bit.

02:34:35

Right. And I was.

02:34:36

You would never do something like that in the cave.

02:34:38

Well, in. In. My only defense is I was switching. I was laying in my kids bed when they're going to bed. Going to bed. And I was watching on an iPad. And then I switched the tv.

02:34:49

Yeah.

02:34:50

So the, the. In between the switch, something, something went wrong for me and I just. I'm an idiot.

02:34:55

I've got a theory about, about like old games that you can watch online now. I think somebody's going back and making the feeds worse.

02:35:04

Just for like nostalgia.

02:35:06

If you try to watch a game that's from the year 2009.

02:35:08

Yeah.

02:35:09

Online.

02:35:09

Yeah. It.

02:35:10

It looks like it was shot in a basement camcorder situation. Bootlegged as he was off of a giant projector TV that's out of focus and doesn't have enough light. It is. I swear to God, when we watch football in 2009. It looked good on TV.

02:35:25

Yeah.

02:35:25

It didn't look like that.

02:35:26

I Agree. I agree. I like that take.

02:35:29

I feel like it's the TV companies that are trying to make us think that we have to get new TVs.

02:35:33

Yeah. They're fucking with us.

02:35:34

Next generation is way better. Yep.

02:35:36

I agree.

02:35:38

If you had a chance to know if your team would ever win at all the rest of your life, would you want to know the answer?

02:35:44

I don't think so.

02:35:45

No.

02:35:45

Because the answer could be no. That would be heartbreaking.

02:35:48

It's most likely no.

02:35:49

That would be like, what's the point?

02:35:52

I'd be down.

02:35:54

Okay.

02:35:54

Because you would be like, okay, Jared Stidham. I guess I'm just a golfer now.

02:35:57

What if. What if I could tell you right now that I have the answer of whether Jared Stidham was him.

02:36:06

As a person?

02:36:06

I'm sure he is, but would you.

02:36:08

Would you? If I. If I was like, hey, I have the future. Jared Situm wins this game. You Would you take that information? You would. And you would probably then watch and be like, no way.

02:36:19

Yeah.

02:36:22

I mean, I just got a report, Jared. Sit him, Sam.

02:36:26

Jerry Sims are great.

02:36:27

I saw a report from his time at Auburn, and he was saying it's kind of cool being the quarterback at Auburn. Everyone knows you, and you're the man. Sounds like him.

02:36:36

Yeah, big time.

02:36:37

I'll be honest with you. I have. I've googled Jared Stedman fun facts probably five times, and in the last two days.

02:36:44

That doesn't mean he's thinking about you. He's doing his job. Dude, I'm prepping our job to talk about football. There's not all about you, Hank.

02:36:50

It's not about me.

02:36:51

I just asked.

02:36:51

I. I said I know that you're thinking about him first thing in the morning. What are those nets? Look. Look like you acted like you don't, but it sounds like you wake up, roll over, and then pull out your.

02:37:01

Phone and say, this is such a.

02:37:03

Hank, this is such a stretch. You just answered my question.

02:37:06

Such a stretch. You're stretching right now, Hank.

02:37:08

I don't think about you at all.

02:37:10

This is such a stretch, Hank.

02:37:11

I'm looking up Jared. Riddle me this.

02:37:14

Riddle me that.

02:37:15

Hank, if you have a quarterback that hasn't started in how many years?

02:37:18

Riddle you this or both?

02:37:20

Shut the fuck up, Hank. If there's a brand new quarterback that's going to be playing in the conference championship game, is it or is it not our job to find out any fun things about that person?

02:37:31

No. No. Stone unturned, Hank.

02:37:35

I'll riddle you that.

02:37:36

It's called journalism.

02:37:37

Buddy learns gonna really really have to be a beast on Friday.

02:37:42

We need stat hold to come through and we. We need stat hole to come through. We also need PFT to full fully read stat hole stats. Yeah, it's a really good point. Both things need to happen.

02:37:51

It's a really good point.

02:37:52

Oh, shout out Jake Elliot. Happy birthday today. Jake Elliott. There we go. You are the worst in the history of the NFL. Minimum of 10, 10 attempts at extra points in the playoffs. But you. You're not 72% happy birthday.

02:38:08

Pft. Can I. Well, what's. Did you. Did you miss a birthday birthday this. This week?

02:38:13

Did I. Did. What do you mean?

02:38:15

Did I miss a really important birthday?

02:38:17

Did I miss a birthday?

02:38:18

Did you miss a really important birthday?

02:38:20

Whose birthday did I miss?

02:38:21

Who did you say for last Friday show?

02:38:25

Sanford, Steve, who else?

02:38:27

No, I didn't know Sanford C. Was the first one. I don't remember who I said last time.

02:38:30

Harambe.

02:38:31

Did you? Did you? I hope you don't. You didn't miss Joe Flackle's birthday, did you?

02:38:36

No, I thought his birthday was later on in January. I thought he was in Woodhead week.

02:38:40

No, he's January 16, 1985. Great month to be born. But you missed Joe Flacco's birthday shout.

02:38:46

Out to my sister. Birthday was Saturday.

02:38:48

I only. I only asked that because he was on WUB this morning and I think T. Bob was like, oh, happy birthday. I was like, oh no.

02:38:54

Oh no.

02:38:55

My. My brain immediately went to you. I was like, oh my God.

02:38:58

I gotta. I gotta refine my process. I'm working with some people.

02:39:01

That's like my birthday. That's one you can't miss. Yeah, I know.

02:39:03

Yeah.

02:39:03

He's not only Joe Flacco your guy, but he's also our birthday month. Yeah, January 1985.

02:39:10

Well, that's what I'm saying.

02:39:11

Like people say January 1985, they say PFD.

02:39:14

Big Cat, Joe Flacco, LeBron on the outside looking in.

02:39:17

It was also a day.

02:39:18

It's not 1985. Yeah, it was a show day.

02:39:21

Max, this is something. It's a. Continuously improving myself. It's not going to be a straight line. The path to success. You gotta trust the process. There's gonna be setbacks. Hank, did you just diet? You just wish your sister a happy birthday belated because her birthday was last week.

02:39:35

Did you do that in text?

02:39:38

Yeah.

02:39:38

Okay.

02:39:39

Okay, good, good.

02:39:39

We did Lynn, man.

02:39:42

Oh, no. Yeah, Lin Manuel got it. Was it And Joe cool.

02:39:47

Didn't Lin Manuel Miranda and Rage against the Machine. Oh, Zach Delaroco.

02:39:51

Maybe Lin Manuel.

02:39:54

Okay, well, happy birthday, Jake Elliott.

02:39:56

And Joe Flacco.

02:39:57

And Joe Flacco. Your name's not my sister, Jake Smelliotti anymore. Shout out Hank's sister.

02:40:03

Yeah. Okay. Next.

02:40:06

Sup, Cancun Cat 50 Kft Lefty. Hank and Lucky win memes.

02:40:11

I would love to be in Cancun right now.

02:40:13

My question, is it really considered bear weather if the Bears themselves were negatively affected by the weather drops and whatnot?

02:40:20

I do think memes can. And Zach can maybe back me up. I do think the Rams offense was more affected by fair weather than any other unit because their offense is, like, the best in the league. And they. They are. They made our defense look awesome.

02:40:36

Oh, I agree. I think if you can get Matt Stafford's teeth to chatter. Those are the most impacted teeth in the world. Yeah, he's. He's the number one teeth guy that we got. So, yeah, those things are shaking around. Probably get a concussion from it.

02:40:48

I mean, you can't say the weather didn't have an impact. We were play away from. From beating the Rams. They were three and a half point favorite. Four and a half point favorite, even presumptive. Oh, wait, what is this? Jones. Andrew Jones and Carlos Beltran. Official. All right, nice.

02:41:06

Nice announcement.

02:41:07

I think bear weather had an impact in the game. I wish bear weather had more of an impact in that game.

02:41:12

Beltran do steroids.

02:41:13

And yes, bear weather did affect some drops. There were some drops. There were a lot of drops. I've watched almost all the drops back.

02:41:23

The Bills just posted a tribute video to Sean McDermott. Oh, that's kind of a weird move, isn't it?

02:41:29

They were really good. I think they were the best team, like, statistically ever. To not win a Super Bowl.

02:41:36

Yeah.

02:41:36

Or not even go to a Super Bowl.

02:41:38

Still, like, if you get. If you get fired from a place, do you really want them to be like, hey, here's a tribute video that we made. Water under the bridge.

02:41:47

No, no, no, no.

02:41:50

All right, last one. If all the PMT cast teams won a Super bowl, who would you. Who would each of you be most happiest for? Besides memes? Jess will never win a Super Bowl. Not even on.

02:41:59

The answer's memes. The answer is 100.

02:42:02

The ricochet shot was in the question.

02:42:04

Yeah, that. That was only you guys. No, but it's memes. The answer is memes.

02:42:07

I think. Pft.

02:42:09

Shane.

02:42:09

I think.

02:42:10

Heck, Shane. Shane would be.

02:42:12

Come on.

02:42:14

Nah, Shane, he'd be all charged up. Charge him if you got him.

02:42:19

Charge up.

02:42:20

Yeah.

02:42:20

I would be so happy for Hank if he. If he was lucky enough to get a Super Bowl.

02:42:25

The answer's meme. So I think we all can agree.

02:42:27

That would rock Colton.

02:42:29

I would be wood like Colton.

02:42:31

Oh, yeah.

02:42:31

Colton Cardinals. Colton Cardinals.

02:42:34

I'll be excited for memes just because he would be, like, just such a. Such a dick to everybody, and I would love it. He also would be the funniest.

02:42:42

I have promised. I've made a promise to myself to be as insufferable. Unsufferable. Unsufferable. In which.

02:42:50

Insufferable.

02:42:51

Yeah, I'm gonna be an asshole. Even if they have a winning record ever. Okay, that's fair. Everyone's been warned. Everyone's been put on notice. Yeah. I just want to see memes would. It would be so weird to see. But memes, I think, would just never stop smiling. And memes never smiles. Never stop smiling. I also would cry a lot. There we go.

02:43:11

But, I mean, if Hank won, after all he's been through.

02:43:15

Yeah. Jared Stum sucks. Yeah.

02:43:19

I might bet $50,000 on the Patriots this weekend.

02:43:23

That's how confident you're gonna go against our guy?

02:43:24

Eight.

02:43:25

That's how confident I am. No chance.

02:43:28

What about eight?

02:43:29

I'm gonna have to find. If you know any Jared Stidham, fun facts, please tag me.

02:43:33

Help. Help.

02:43:35

Help the team.

02:43:35

This is all hands on deck.

02:43:36

All hands on decks shared citizen. Fun facts. Is that it, Hank?

02:43:40

02:44:28

02:44:30
