Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.
Oh, welcome in. Oh my gosh, it was football time.
It really was. It was. Mike.
Oh, how did that happen?
I'll tell you what, I assume, I assume because I know for myself and we do this professionally, like I don't watch the Hall of Fame game. I drive a Dodge Stratus. We don't, I don't usually watch a Hall of Fame game. The only reason that I really turned it on, obviously Larry's going to the Hall of Fame and Carson Beck was starting. And so I wanted to, I wanted to see it.
Right.
Oh, we saw it.
But the thing is, is regardless of whether you care about Carson Beck or the Cardinals or, you know, the Colts or the Panthers, whoever, if you watched it, it was a wildly fun game, like really fun back and forth, crazy ending. It was like, it was good football.
I mean, last second win.
Yeah.
Final play of the game, like a walk-off. I mean, you don't, you don't get that. In football very often.
No, because this was like, and thank goodness, and of course, but it was, you know, they could have kicked the field goal to tie the end and go to overtime, which would have been like the play you would have done probably in regular season. But the, you know, you don't need more of the Hall of Fame game. So they just, it's like a timeless, that was, that was really fun. It was great.
It really was football. Carson Beck was awesome.
I mean, that's what I hear.
4 incompletions. Did you not watch it?
No, I was not able to watch it.
Wow. Well, you missed out, Mike.
I was at mandatory parent meetings for football.
Yep.
Oh, that's— this is like— a lot of you think Mike works here full time.
No, no, this is my side gig.
This is Mike's side hustle. His full-time job is being a dad to a son who's in high school football. The mandatory meeting thing for football. For parents.
Right.
They make it. They lay that on thick too. It's like, what are they going to do? Are they going to take your kid and kick them off the team if you don't show up?
It's, it's—
where's his father?
It's funny to me. And I like, I understand all these things. I— you got to be informed, but it's funny though. Oh, the mandatory meeting. And then we have— we got to donate to the snack bar this weekend, but it's a mandatory.
You get to donate.
And I'm like, I don't think that word means what you think it means.
I think what you're looking for is a fee. There's a mandatory fee.
These clubs are out of control. It's not just sports. You know, my kids—
We should start something.
We'd be really rich. We really need to. My kids are in a theater where they're in an outreach group. They have to pay to join the group. But then if you're in the group that you pay for, you must participate in all these donation events, which is like, wait, we're paying so that we have to pay more? What are we doing?
It's wild. By the way, I want to say thank you to the 9,000 people who have DM'd me their golf tips for all the things I was doing wrong. The Falcon decided to put together a play 9 holes with Andy, then he's going to do a play 9 holes with Jason.
That'll be a longer video.
But just so that, you know, can you time-lapse it? Yeah, well, we might have to skip a few holes. Yeah, it was, it's been a humbling experience receiving all of your thoughts and comments. Most of you concerned with me chewing on a golf tee.
Yeah, that was the number one tip because, and this is a good, there's a good piece of advice. They care if you were taking the tee out of the ground and putting it in your mouth.
There's also eating chemicals.
Yeah. But that wasn't what you were doing, of course, because you're not a monster.
No, I mean, this was a regular unused golf tee.
Yeah.
Like, like you're supposed to consume. And I realized the irony with my tooth. Problems.
Yeah. You chew on things that you shouldn't chew on. Also, you did just purchase—
Maybe they're related.
You literally, after this, purchased flavored golf tees. Ridiculous.
With dental-grade plastic.
Okay.
They're safe to consume. But yeah, that was humbling.
What a weird idea.
To do that?
Yeah.
It's because people chew on golf tees, whether they should or shouldn't. That happens enough. To where there's now a market of me out there.
Yeah, I mean, people sell cigarettes.
You know, it's like you shouldn't, but if you do, there were some people that thought I was just lighting up. They thought I smoked at the golf course.
I'll have a cigar in my mouth for my play nine.
Just don't dip it in the grass with the pesticides.
Right.
We have a great show today. We got wide receiver countdown. We got the news to talk about. Um, we got the Ultimate Draft Kit available right now. If you do not have it and you are prepping up for drafts, um, the NFL season starts one week later than it did last year. And we have a lot of drafts coming up the rest of this month and into early September because the kickoff is September 9th.
Yeah.
So you're going to have drafts. I mean, we, we have ours on Labor Day for our League of Record, other drafts, uh, throughout the month. But you want to be prepared. We have put together the Ultimate Draft Kit, over 130,000 words of original content analysis, player analysis, rankings, all of our, you know, the draft analyzer is part of the UDK Plus. The mock draft tool is brand new. And I think we saw yesterday over 150,000 mock drafts have already taken place on the platform, always updating and improving the UDK every single day. We have videos talking about Cyrus Allen here, baby.
Yeah. I mean, there's a lot of the, the, unheralded rookies that are making waves. This is the time of year where we can make some notes on them, make sure you're aware of them in the draft kit. And we've got videos, individual videos on basically every single really relevant player. Those are worth a watch or a listen. You can do it either way. And yeah, it's all in the UDK.
And if you are sticking with us throughout the season, one of the things we do from February all the way through kickoff is allow you to take the full price that you paid for the UDK and just apply it to become an Ultimate Foot Clan member, dollar for dollar. So it's a completely, you know, we don't take anything away from it. We prorate it fully. And that gets you the in-season tools like the Ultimate Dashboard, all of our in-season rankings, the Trade Analyzer, which is part of that, all the Stream Finder, the Start Sit tool, all the in-season stuff. If you just want one thing to worry about and you want to support the show, you can do that just by going to jointhefoot.com. And you'll see if you're logged in under your UDK account, you can just apply that. And pick it up. So ultimatedraftkit.com for the draft kit, jointhefoot.com for the ultimate membership. And we do have that giveaway going on right now, completely free to enter, footclangiveaway.com for a signed—
So much going on right now.
Bijan Robinson jersey. You can go do that. Quick question of the day comes in from Brandon in Nebraska. He says, in my 12-team PPR league, we do not know the draft order until 1 hour before draft time. I just want to hear your input—
So mysterious.
—on how I should prepare myself best for this draft.
Yeah, we do this for our listener league, which thank you all who have subscribed.
And you get a morbid satisfaction out of it.
I do. I really love that you can't truly fully prepare. But you can prepare. I mean, yeah, people get desperate though.
They're like, Jason, come on. Come on. Tell us.
What I really want to do is like, I want to give them the order so that they prepare and then last second change it so that they prepared wrong. In fact, I'm doing that this year. Can I get agreement?
Wait, what do you want to do?
We can't because you're telling everyone. I know, but they might not be listening to this episode right now.
But I'm saying, if they're in the Listener League, they better be listening to this episode.
Yeah, that's true. They better be listening to all of them. I was saying I should set a draft order now and then completely change it right before the draft.
I mean, but they'll know. If they're listening.
That's, you know, it's an advantage. Here's the answer to the question.
Because the real trick is do the draft order and then surprise them like 30 seconds later. But don't tell him on this show. Well, sure, but I've already told him.
When you have a draft like this coming up, mock drafts are incredibly important. That's why we just built a mock draft tool. What you do is you do a handful of drafts from the 2, the 7, and the 11, assuming it's a 12-person team. All you really need to know is what is it like at the beginning, the middle, or the end of drafts. You don't have to know your exact draft spot. You just need to know like, when I'm near the back end of the first round, you know, and I'm near the, you know, the 1-2 and the 3-4 turn, what players, what positions really do I like better or worse in the next time I'm on the clock, the next time I'm on the clock? That's pretty much all you have to do. I think that's how I would like to prepare.
Yeah. I mean, I think it's the essence of what we do in our rankings as well. It's the tier-based drafting strategy puts you in a position where you are able to react to whatever happens. Just because you know your draft spot, okay, maybe you can project your first round situation perfectly or you know kind of where things are falling. You're going to get surprised no matter whether you know it or not throughout the second, third, fourth, fifth round and beyond. We use tiers to define player groupings so that you can make decisions down the line. And when we did a mock draft show yesterday, there were oftentimes we're looking at the situation saying, look, I, you know, this, this player is the final one of a group of relevant running backs I like, and there's still 5 or 6 wide receivers in that tier I like. So I'm going to move to the running back position. I think tier-based drafting is another key to that. And I agree with the mock draft analysis as well.
Yeah, we have a tips and tricks episode coming up soon. There might be more info on that to come.
All right. We can move on, talk some news.
News and notes from around the league.
I mean, it is, it is news that Carson Beck completed 14 of 18 passes. 2 of the misses were drops. 1 was an intentional throwaway. He was excellent. And these weren't just, you know, dump-offs. This was down the field. This was across the middle. It's relevant because we're all sitting here saying, you know, when is Mendoza going to play? When is, when is Carson Beck going to take the field? How is this going to impact Bowers and McBride? If I'm the Arizona Cardinals and their ex-GM even came out last night and said what we're all thinking, which is, you know, you're going to be one of the worst teams in the league. The Cardinals are favored in zero games. So, okay, maybe you, maybe you outkick your coverage a little bit and you win five. You win because of what they're projected for, 3.5. Is it 3?
I thought it was 4.5. It might be 4.5.
Ooh. I mean, I mean, this is—
Whoa, whoa, whoa, buddy.
Oh, it is 3.5.
The point is, is your goal this season, and this is where You've got a rookie head coach. You want to win games. Everybody wants to win games. You want to show your team that you're playing the best players. I get it. But your true agenda this year will be at some point to understand if you have anything in Carson Beck, who was the third quarterback drafted in the NFL draft. You will want to know if you need to use a high pick on a quarterback or not, which means, look, we'll see what the rest of the preseason looks like.
It's one game. Let me ask you.
But he started in Canton.
He's ending in Canton, baby. Yeah. Yeah, Max Hall also looked great in preseason once for the Cardinals. Let me ask you this. If this actually moves the needle of Carson Beck to start more games, which I believe it has or will, if you knew that Carson Beck was starting 75% of the season, or let's just say all the entire season, what you just said recently that you are Trey McBride over Brock Bowers, would that flip it for you? Would that be a negative for Trey McBride that the rookie will start the whole season? Won't be as good as it would flip it for me.
Yeah, because I just don't think the touchdown totals are going to be anywhere near what Jacoby Brissett was able to do. And we just talked about McBride. One of the keys to his dominance was 11 touchdowns, double-digit touchdowns with a rookie. I find to be somewhat unrealistic. Bauer still is going to have his challenges at some point in time, but at least it's the number 1 overall pick.
It's exciting, but it was the Hall of Fame game. Yeah. Where this is just, this is an audition for guys who may not even get more chances in preseason.
I love one of the— We are burying the lead on the Hall of Fame game, by the way.
Are we?
I can't believe it. King's King? Nope. Oh. That would be—
Why don't you tell me what the lead is?
Yeah. You don't know what it is?
I thought it was Carson Beck.
Achan. Oh, yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Haha. Ahaha. You're laughing at yourself.
No, no, no, no, I am not. I am laughing upon the— like, we've taken a lot of heat and it's not just like, hey guys, it's confusing. It's— it is a barrage of insults. People are like, I'm never listening to this show again unless you start calling him ETN. It's like, dude, chill out. We're trying to figure out what the right thing is for us to respect this man.
Yeah, we want to call him ETN because it would be so much easier because ETN is the name of another player.
At the same position. But last night, that's all I'm saying. Last night, Carolina at the running back position, his brother Trevor Achan is what they said on the broadcast. At least what they want to be called.
And they went—
At least with Travis, we get a junior on it and we can make it easier for everyone. That's why I'm going— I'm trying to get Rumbleia going. I'm doing my best, but we're not going to call him the wrong name.
Yeah, it does look like the broadcast teams will be calling Travis and Trevor Achan and it will be okay.
We will get 6 weeks into the season and everything will be just fine. We'll be used to it. Yeah.
We'll be bemoaning. I just think Travis Achan Jr. Not just early.
We, and that's what feels bad.
We were trying to, trying to respect it. I'm just saying the, the, like the vitriol, which was so weird. Well, I mean, yeah, I mean, in your face.
Oh, okay, Mike. All right. No, keep him on our team. Jameer Gibbs, 3-year, $67 million extension. Said it on yesterday's show. It was a matter of moments and it happened and he gets what, $500K more than—
Yeah, he got slightly more than Bijan. That's what we said. It's like, do you want to be the first? Because if you're the first, you set the line and then the next guy's going to go, give me just a little bit more than that.
The two should have gotten together and been like, all right, whoever signs it first will split the difference between what I get above and we'll just get them both done like a chop pot. Jalen Noll coming off the NFI list. Jalen Noll's got an uphill climb. You've got Tank Dell and Jaden Higgins and Xavier Hutchinson. And yeah, Jalen Noll's probably not going to be relevant.
Jaden Higgins has been getting a lot of positive buzz in camp. So that's, it's a name to pay attention to with Christian Kirk gone.
You're too wide receiver for the Texans.
I did watch this. We're talking about Alec Pierce and the return from left ankle surgery. I watched. Like it's being reported that Shane Steichen says there's no timetable. I watched the press conference. It was, this is getting blown out of proportion in my opinion because all they did was say, is there any update to the timetable? And he said, no, no update. He's doing great. He's working out. He's doing a hell of a job in his rehab process. And you wouldn't even believe he said he's excited.
So then this is great reporting for you, Andy, because you, you're in on Alec Pierce this year. I mean, this is not great.
I'd rather have him give a timetable that says tomorrow.
I'm saying great great because this will push his ADP down. People will be more and more afraid. And if you're watching past the headline and you see that it's, it's really no different than what we already knew was happening.
That's how I'm interpreting it. No, I don't, I don't like that. I mean, it's just a weird situation when you have, and we've had this before. I mean, Godwin, Godwin is a perfect example of this. Godwin had a major injury, then signed a major contract extension, then had to come back from injury. Alec Pierce, just to be under, wasn't that good. Just so you understand, he was paid like $86 million guaranteed. He's $27, $28 million a year as a wide receiver. That is— and then they said goodbye, Michael Pittman. So that's their level of belief. Now they can't control outcomes of rehabbing and surgery and things like that or setbacks if those happen. All this to say it's August 7th. We are a month— we're more than a month away from the kickoff of the NFL season. And even further from the Sunday in which the Colts play. I'm not going to panic today. But if in, if in 3 weeks from now, Alec Pierce has not been running around at, at training camp, I will then be worried. But I'm giving it a 3-week timer right now because he's the bona fide guaranteed number 1 of this wide receiver room.
Now, don't you think that if he gets back for the first time in 3 weeks that he will be starting slow?
I don't know. I don't know if he'll be starting slow because you're still going to have almost 2 weeks to get back into shape. We'll see. I mean, you want me to go 2 weeks?
Okay. Yeah, I do. I do. I think he needs at least a 2-week ramp up.
Yeah. Yeah, that's fine. Jaylen Waddle, a strain will return in 4 to 5 days. He's fine.
He's used to this. Walking with a limp.
That is, that is the Waddle walk. I mean, that is what he does.
How do they not say he was walking with a waddle?
Yeah, they said walking with a limp. They didn't say he was waddling around, which he was.
Wouldn't you be waddling with a limp?
Isn't that actually what he'd be doing? At the very least, yeah, that's fine.
That's, that's called waddling with a waddle.
Romeo Dobbs did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday.
They think it's not serious. Yeah, that doesn't sound serious. The Patriots wide receiver room is fascinating. If you've been following what's going on with the training camp, because the offseason was, was Kayshawn Booty, who was a very solid player for them, deep threat last year. He felt like the odd man out.
Like he was, well, I mean, he didn't just feel like it. He requested a trade. He continues to, he's asking for one now.
He was not showing up to some, some voluntary stuff and talks of a trade, but all the reporting is like Kayshawn Booty is, is one of the best wide receivers for the Patriots this entire training camp process. So it's like, who, who is actually going to be playing for this? Because you're—
it— DeMario Douglas is going to get a lot of snaps because Diggs with short area targets has been playing.
Because you have AJ Brown's a lock. Romeo Dobbs would be insane if you gave him that amount of money and then he's not your 2. So then it's the 3. Well, then, but should you put— are you putting Dobbs in the slot then and putting Booty on the outside? Because you have Douglas, who is a great slot.
Well, Booty's requested a trade, right?
And because he feels like he doesn't have a real opportunity.
A lot of people have assumed he would be traded. I'm surprised he's still a Patriot. Maybe they're waiting for a higher price, but there's some teams out there that could— you telling me the Chiefs aren't better with Booty? Sure. But yeah, we're all better with booties. Yeah.
Ke'Shawn. Bootay. Yeah. I mean, DeMario Douglas, I mean, he only played, I mean, Pop Douglas played like 27% of snaps last year. And his reports in the preseason have been great, but he's a limited player. It's mysterious what's going on up there. And you've got Matt Collins. Don't forget about the barefoot merchant. Dude, Matt Collins rules. All right. We'll take a break here and we're going to jump into wide receiver rankings. This should be fun. We've got a couple of shows for wide receivers. Countdown 20 through 11.
Wide receivers.
It should be said in the, in the context of the Alec Pierce news with a team that's lost Michael Pittman, you know, Jason's already talked a lot about Tyler Warren, but if Alec Pierce is limited, if it takes some time to get going, it's all the more reason to spend an early pick on Josh Downs and give him a shot because somebody has to catch the ball there. He's going to get more opportunities. Whether he's going to be good enough on the outside is TBD, but he, he's still going to be on the field and behind him it's Ashton Dulin, which has been the case for a while, which, you know, that's part of the reason I'm not sure about Downs being great on the outside. It's like, why weren't you taking snaps from him before? You had Pittman in the slot. So yeah, wide receiver rankings countdown. Let's do it. Here's some numbers for you. What makes a wide receiver 2? We're looking at 20 through 11 today. Over the last decade, among the 110 wide receivers finishing in this range, 84% of them averaged 7 or more targets per game. So I mean, 7 or more is a big number.
77% had 1,000 or more receiving yards. And 75% had 6 or more receiving touchdowns. And when did we switch to 17 games, by the way?
Can we officially remember that day? No, we cannot officially remember that day. No one. But in a 17-game season, 7 targets a game would be 119 targets. 2021. Okay, so we've had half a decade. This is—
I just think it's funny when you're like 77% have had 1,000 or more receiving yards, but you got an extra game for half of them. So an extra opportunity to do it. Those thresholds, nobody's adjusted properly. Yeah, but number 18, are you just going to keep saying he's a 1,000-yard receiver?
Sure, we have a bonus game, but also production has been down. We've talked about that globally.
T. Higgins comes in at number 20, guys. That feels like a real floor situation for T. Higgins, and we all have him ranked there. I think just because we like the upside of a lot of other players. I mean, it's classic situation, Jason. You and I have them higher than Mike.
Yeah. Look, we, we love T. Higgins here. Well, you and I do. Yeah. Go on. Being drafted as the wide receiver 14. That's fine.
So you've released me.
Why are we all below ADP? I think the reason we're below ADP is because where T. Higgins scores his fantasy points in recent memory is touchdowns. Like he was on pace for 12.5 touchdowns and he can absolutely 100% replicate that. But we can't project him right for 12.5 touchdowns. So like I have him projected for 9 touchdowns, which I have him at 8.2.
Yeah.
And so when you do that, when you project kind of a good median outcome, it's going to, it's going to hurt him. Whenever there's a guy who is really touchdown heavy on where the fantasy points come from, they'll usually be a little lower in like linear rankings.
21 receiving touchdowns over the last 2 years. Yeah, only Chase Edmonds and Adams have more than that.
Wow. It's just touchdowns aren't a sticky stat. I mean, but they are for a few, a few people.
You always have an injury concern with Tee Higgins. No question. It's been a problem. Anytime a player has a narrative that involves him running up a hill at practice, you know, injuries have been part of his story. Yeah.
I mean, this is also when I look at actual information. Yeah. When I look at last year, I'm like, thank goodness we finally got a full season out of T Higgins. He still missed 2 games and was injured, but it feels great. Like, that's a full season. That's a full season. 15 games is a full season for T Higgins.
If you tell me T Higgins gets 1,000 yards, I'll be like, wow.
Yeah, because per game, in 12 games, he got 1,000.
They, I mean, they're in some of the highest over-under games of the season. I mean, the Bengals average, I think, line is like 49. Yes. So again, this comes down to, there's two factors for Tee Higgins. One is that his quarterback's healthy and that's not always been the case. And the other is that Higgins is healthy and that's not always been the case. If both of those are true, The way they pass the football. I mean, T. Higgins is really— this is the floor for him.
This is the floor as far as our ranking of 20. He's being drafted at wide receiver 14. I don't have any problem with that. Take your shots on T.
Higgins because he can finish as high as the wide receiver 6. I was going to say like 10.
I think he can easily be top 10. I mean, you also have the built-in obvious.
You do have that. If the injury happens to Jamar Chase.
What's his highest fantasy finish ever? I'm just curious. I don't know.
Per game? No, no, no. I believe it's 17.
Okay. So yeah, that's where I— 6 seems a little— Yeah.
I mean, that is under the— That's like if Jamar Chase gets injured and he ends up with 12 touchdowns.
In 2024, he was 15.5 points per game. Right.
15.5 points per game would be probably higher than—
Well, in 12 games. So that was the— good enough for the wide receiver 19, saying if you get it, if you're at 15.5 and you play 15 games, also notice that we're calling it the full season for T. Higgins. You're going to, you're going to be a top 10 guy.
This is year 7 for T. Higgins. Yeah.
15.5 would have been wide receiver 5 last year. George Pickens, for context, was 14.4 last year.
But it's kind of chicken egg though, right? Because it's like, if you don't play enough games, you also don't have as many games that you can have a down game or anything like that.
Yeah, for sure. The thing is, is this year and every year you want to target certain teams. I want to target the Cowboys, the Bengals, and the Lions. I want, I want as many pieces from those teams as I can get.
And the Rams. Yeah, the Rams too.
That's, that's fine.
Those don't feel like debatable picks you're saying or? Well, yeah, I mean, the Rams were the top scoring team in the league last year. For sure.
My issue with the Rams is simply the, the, You've got the question at the running back position. Most people do. Well, there is a question. There's a question. I have the answer, but there is a question. But the age of Davante Adams and whether or not he's still got it and assuming Aaron Donald is back, I think that defense is—
I don't doubt their offense, old man.
I don't doubt their offense.
I think they'll be the top scoring offense again.
I do not. I don't think— because that's why I put the Lions, the Bengals, and the Cowboys in another tier is because of their defense. Their offense, all of those offenses are outrageously good. But when, when one team breaks fantasy, it's usually coinciding with, I got to score 35 points a game.
Okay. Ted McMillan comes in at 19, 23 years old. Mike is the highest on Ted McMillan.
I have no idea what happened here.
I, I just like, well, what one, the reason that you don't know what happened is because at one point months ago, I was very, very high on Tedderall McMillan. It would, it, he was in my top 10.
Months ago, it was. I was the one who was kind of scared of McMillan and the two of you guys felt real strong.
You made great arguments, Mike. I apparently you overcorrected.
I have the correct ranking at 15. Oh, I went too far.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I should have gone with the correct ranking. Put him at 18. That's why I don't do that.
Teteroa is awesome.
He's a great player.
If he were in a different situation, he could finish as, you know, a top 5 wide receiver without question. The question is, can Bryce Young do enough to allow Tataroa to be a wide receiver one? I still believe he can, especially with some of the injuries around that team right now. The other positions are going down. Jadavian Sanders has gone down. Someone else just went down to an injury.
Well, they're the rookie. The second round rookie will not be playing this year.
Yes, that's, that's what it was. And so I, I like Tett a lot. I just think he, his ceiling is a little bit hamstrung by Bryce Young.
I mean, you look at last year and there's some things that were true about Tetterall-McMillan. He was the offensive player of the year as a rookie, right? Offensive rookie of the year. He had over 1,000 yards and he had 7 touchdowns if we like that 1,000-yard number. So you had a season where he was, he scored 7 times and had over 1,000 yards. He finishes at wide receiver 17, and more importantly for your fantasy team, he only had 2 weeks where he was inside the top 12 at the position, and one of them was 12 on the dot. So you look at that situation and you say, you know, I think the Tee Higgins v. Ted McMillan is an incredible decision because on one hand you have the clear bona fide guarantee number 1 of a team, and the other you have obviously number 2 of the offense, but a huge difference at total yardage output. I like Carolina to, you know, I think Bryce Young can take a step forward. I've made that argument before. I, but I think that Jason's right. I think the ceiling, it will be a tiny step. And mind you, man, when he was on the sideline last night without, yeah, no pads, he looked fine.
Without the pads, that was the water boy.
He just, because he's a small guy. He's, yeah, he's just not a small, he's like Kyler.
The upside case for him is Drake London. They're similar players, similar situations where the target market share should be enormous and they don't have good quarterbacks. You're not expecting a great offense. That being said, I think— Can he get to 1,210?
No. I mean, it doesn't seem like a far cry from last year. That would put him in that contention.
Yeah, I think he could, but that would—
3 more touchdowns, 150 more yards.
10 touchdowns. It's Bryce Young who in his career, we're going into year 4. So as a rookie, just under 2,900 passing yards at 5.5 yards per attempt. The next year, 2,400 at 6.3. This past year, his best season, just barely passes 3,000 yards at 6.3 yards per attempt and 23 passing touchdowns. McMillon last year was 25% of the targets. He has to jump to 30 plus.
Yeah, he needs to be at 30.
If you're getting 25% again of Bryce Young, I got a big jump for Bryce Young with the numbers that he's put up so far. It would be 3,500 yards, which is like, that's not a—
that's potentially 1,500 fewer than Burrow with T Higgins.
Right. But if Bryce Young gets to 3,500 and McMillan makes a jump to 30%, which is not impossible based on the talent of the player, then you'll be happy. It's just a— A big step has to happen for both players.
He's a great player, but he may be stuck a little bit. Yes. And Bryce Young, 34th in average depth of target, 34th. And in 7 games, Tett was 3 or fewer receptions. So if you combine that kind of an output at low depth of target, that would be scary.
Yeah. Xavier Leguette was the other guy I was thinking that went down to injury. So I agree. You need to get to 30%. We all love the talent of Tett. It's just a question of would you rather have the second wide receiver for the Cowboys, for the Bengals, for great offenses that, you know, there's just going to be so much points being scored, or would you rather have the number one for an inferior offense? I lean the great offense side.
Like last year, T. Higgins got, you know, the— what was his final numbers? 59 for 846 and 11 with a 19% target share. Yeah, just like, yeah. And then McMillan's at 25, barely passing 1,000. So room for T. Higgins to be even more involved is certainly there.
Devontae Smith comes in at number 18. I got him at 19, Jason at 16, Mike at 18. So we're all right around the same range. Being drafted, being drafted at wide receiver 17 in the fourth round.
It's going to keep going up. Is it? Yeah.
If you look at, if you look where money is, if you look at the big money leagues, if you look at, I assume Underdog and Best Ball as well, Kyle, look that up. But I know like the big money leagues, he's usually—
Best Ball, he's going as a top 12 wide receiver. Yeah.
He's usually around wide receiver 12 or 13. And we've seen it. Obviously he's finished as a wide receiver 7 before. We've talked a lot about—
Oh, I was wrong. Wide receiver 13. Well, okay.
Wide receiver. Well, that's on Underdog. Yeah. So I do think he gets drafted a little higher. This feels— I was surprised that my ranking, my actual statistical ranking is 16.
Where did you say he finished at 7? I see him at 10. Oh, is that— sorry. Yeah. He's finished as wide receiver 10 in 2022. I mean, he feels like an obvious easy pick and a very— this again feels like a floor pick in terms of like the worst he's going to finish. I would say if Makai Lemon wasn't dealing with hamstring injuries again, maybe Makai Lemon excitement heading towards the season could keep his ADP in place. I think that the trouble is, is that in this top 20 range, there are a lot of names that are kind of exciting. And we've been around the block with DeVonta Smith a little bit. There's pessimism around the offense. I'm just trying to think of narratives that could keep him lower. But to me, it seems like one of those things where you might, if you pass on him here, or you pass on him even a little bit higher, You may just really, really regret it because it might be really obvious about 6 weeks into the year that this guy is a bona fide wide receiver 1 in fantasy. I think it is worth—
and they're favored in 4 of their first 6. Yeah, I think it's worth saying DeVonta Smith because he's— he has been a wide receiver 2 in the NFL for his own team. But DeVonta Smith is fully 100% without question in my mind. Capable of being an alpha wide receiver one for an NFL team. He is an elite wide receiver. He came in as one of the best prospects ever. If he was just, if he weighed a few more pounds, you know, he was a little too light coming into the NFL. But when he came in, he was one of the best prospects statistically. He just was £170. You don't, that doesn't usually work, but he is so good as an actual wide receiver that he's overcome that. And I don't think that there's any fear there personally with whether he can step from the wide receiver 2 role to the wide receiver 1.
The Eagles have done a really good job of just taking people other teams have talked themselves out of for dumb reasons. With Jalen Carter, now the highest paid defensive player in football or whatever. And, and Devontae Smith, they just get the Heisman winner.
You know, I mean, they took him with the 10th pick overall. If you, it's been, been a minute, but yeah.
And the smaller, the smaller wide receiver archetype has been working more and more. Speaking of which, number 17, Zay Flowers. Zay Flowers at 17. What is happening? I knew you were going to— what is happening? I was really hoping you didn't see that.
Stop copying me. Oh man.
What is happening? I didn't know what I was—
I'm out of here, dude.
Mike hates Zay Flowers. Why do you hate Zay Flowers?
You're the lowest amongst us.
You have him as wide receiver 20. Ouch. We've got him higher than that. What are you doing here, Mike?
I thought you, I thought you were a fan.
I thought he thought Zay was like a good player.
You guys saw what happened last year for my rankings and you're like, I need, I need in on Mike's advice.
Last year's wide receiver 7.
Gosh darn it. I'm moving them up right now.
Just be, I'm just throwing numbers in. Got that bag.
I don't even care if I believe them.
104 guaranteed. Zay Flowers comes in at 17. Have you guys been reading about like Lamar's relationship with Harbaugh and and, uh, Monken and stuff like that.
It's, it's a wide receiver 14. Okay. Okay.
Well, that happened quick. I gave him a touchdown.
Okay. Which is a, which is a big deal for him.
He's not really known for getting those.
I'm not out of control. I have him at a projection of 6.7.
Well, he's only at 14 over the last 3 years and you've heard my my bear case on Zay Flowers before. There are, there are lots of games, and this is kind of a Baltimore thing.
You put that bear to hibernation.
There are a lot of games where, where they've not needed him. I mean, this has been part of the career of Zay Flowers. For whatever reason, there are games that Zay Flowers looks dominant. And for, and then there are games where, I mean, you had games last year, 2 for 13. Okay. That's the wide receiver 89. 2 for 6 on 95% of snaps. Like, so there's some elements to the game for Zay Flowers where he's just at times disappeared over the years. Same thing happened the year before and it was really frustrating because you basically ping pong between disappearing acts, 3 points, 1 point, 15, 17, 3 points, 15, 27, 5 points. It's not been as consistent for Zay Flowers as other players, but last year it was a step up in his points per game. He played all 17 games. He's been very healthy, something you can't say about T. Higgins. I do have my questions about— I feel like Lamar, the Lamar situation is basically, does he gel with the head coach and offensive coordinator? And it seems like it's been hard for certain people to connect with him and get him motivated.
The reports right now are that he is, but that was lost at times with Harbaugh.
Yeah, this was the undersized wide receiver that I remembered finished as wide receiver 7, which was last year. Right. Flowers, one of the stickiest, most predictive stats at wide receiver for future success is simply target share. Yep. That actually sticks around and has a high correlation with being good the following season. His target share in his career has gone up each of his 3 seasons, started at a very healthy 24, then 25 last year, 29%.
What about the $104 million they gave him this offseason? How does that— what does that say to his target share? It's amazing.
If Zay Flowers was a guy who was used around the red zone and was a touchdown threat, this would be a guy easily in the second round of fantasy drafts because, you know, he's on a good offense. He's the clear-cut one with a high enough target share. The touchdowns are really, really holding him back. Now, you don't project I mean, Mike does. Mike projects, you know, 6.7 touchdowns. Might be a record. You don't— that would be his record. I'm sure without looking that up, I'm positive that would be his record. You don't project him to have a ton of touchdowns. And I think, could he have an outlier season? Sure. But that would be low odds. However, this is an archetype that is usually a really good fantasy football odds bet. Bet on a guy whose target volume is great. On a great offense and touchdowns. It's only gone up. Touchdowns, they bounce around. You, they, they, they have, if, if he ends up with 7 touchdowns next year, he'll be probably a wide receiver 1 and he's not being, he's being drafted pretty late. So I like taking a shot on Zay Flowers.
Number one, the talent, he's awesome. This is a new offense. So yeah, we don't know what the, I think that that's what provides some excitement of, we can look back historically over the first 3 years, 5, 4, and 5 touchdowns. This is different. You know, there is an opportunity. There's a chance that Zay Flowers scores more touchdowns. And this is like, not when Jacoby Lane's taking them. This is a stretch, but it's just to prove my point. Remember when Trey McBride couldn't catch touchdowns? Yep. 3 touchdowns. Remember when Caleb Pitt? Sophomore year, 2 touchdowns. The year after that, 11. I'm not saying 11 touchdowns are coming for Zay Flowers, but it's when, when, when a variable changes, which one changed for Trey McBride last year, the Jacoby came in. This is a different offense for Lamar and I, he's just a little, yeah, he's a little guy. Yeah, but he, he plays, he plays big.
All right, Jaylen Waddle comes in at 16. We've talked extensively about Waddle recently. He was on the Monday episode. He was Mike's fire pick. It is, you know, it's hard for me to be fully bought in on Jaylen Waddle as much as I'd like to be simply because it's been a struggle fantasy-wise over the last 3 seasons for Jaylen Waddle. I don't think on a per-play basis when you're watching him, you're like, oh, that guy doesn't have the same, you know, juice, the same wiggle. But the fantasy production has been slowed and it's not like we didn't have confidence in his offensive coordinator the last 3 years. So part of it's been slowed by his injury situation, which is daily. Yeah, I was just saying it's not a great thing that when we bring him up on the show, he's already hurt. It's not a great thing that the only way that you give good numbers for Jaylen Waddle is to be like, when he was healthy and when Tua was healthy and when this happens and that happens, everything goes right.
Things are good, but I am excited about everything. Just health. I don't know. I mean, even when he was—
yeah, but yeah. Yeah. Okay. I mean, the points per game, his first and second season were his best and we're 3 more years removed from it. So it's a little bit of caution, but look, we got him at 16 for a reason.
I'm like, Mike's got him lowest.
Yeah. Mike does have him lowest. What is happening?
I don't know, man. This, you know, you can't tell me to rank him high.
You know who you should talk to?
You sound like the head coach. It's like, I've got to get the ball to my running back more. And you always yell at them like, You know, you are the one that we're all trying to figure out who did this. I am trying to figure out. You're in a hot dog suit right now, my man.
That's fine. I'm delicious.
I'm trying to figure out what other weird names he's got so high.
That's right. I don't know.
Higher than these guys that me and you obviously like.
Yeah. Wait till the next episode. The top 10 is going to be wild. It's going to be crazy.
Jack Bash. No, but look, Waddle, we talked a lot about him on Monday. You know the story on Waddle, but we got him at 16. We'll take a break and we'll come back with the next 5 names.
No one's in my top 20. I am. There's just no one there.
I start at 14.
Emeka Abukah is at 15 and unsurprisingly Mike is the lowest on Emeka Abukah. That one I stand by. I've got him at 11. So that's where I'm definitely bullish. Yeah, I mean, on the Monday episode, it was Ibuka as the fire pick. So Mike's fire pick, Jaylen Waddle. My fire pick, Emeka Ibuka. I just think this offense is going to run through him. He's playing the Z position. I love Baker. I love the line situation. And I don't, you know, I just don't see anybody that's going to take away his target share. There's a bunch of ancillary players that are talented. Godwin at this juncture of his career. Talented possession receiver. McMillon, you know, Tez Johnson, Ted Hurst, yeah, are all, whoa, they're all talented, but it's going to be a book of offense. You have no one ranked in your top 50. No, I love a book. I made the case on Monday. So maybe, maybe Jason, where are you at? Because you're kind of between our rankings.
I am a believer in the talent. He was a my guy going into last year. The departure of Mike Evans in the offseason versus an injury in season allows them to put Ibuka where he's going to succeed. The offensive line injuries, although I did see Tristan Wirfs was injured right now, which is like, that's a, that is a really big deal for this offense. This, this is a great player. I think the offense should be good. The injuries to him and Baker last year, you know, you had a tale of two halves and which half is the truth? I think both had some truth, but he's good. So I mean, I've got him right in the middle at wide receiver 15. I think that's right where he'll finish as a high-end wide receiver 2. The question's just going to be draft price. Are you paying that or not? Currently, it looks like he's being drafted as wide receiver 19. So I'm in on taking the shot.
I don't have a problem with it. The upside is tremendous. I do think Godwin has more left in the tank. Like, you're speaking of ranks. I have Godwin ranked much higher than you guys. He's not a top 20 type of player, but I'm just, I'm not 100% sure that it's like the Ibuka takeover is what the outcome of this year is for the Bucs.
At number 14, it is the tried and true Garrett Wilson. Points per game in his career, 10.2, 9.7, 11.8, 11.6. Kind of always just, he just always is there when the team has the capability of getting him the football. He's been a target share machine averaging 28%. You know, what could go wrong for Garrett Wilson? Oh, so much. I mean, he's 26 years old at this point. Geno Smith is throwing him the football.
And for it, it is difficult to remember Garrett Wilson was dominating for fantasy football last year.
It was before he was injured. He was the wide receiver 5.
It was a little like there was some, some garbage time stinkiness built into it, but it was just, this is a reminder of, of how good he can be. And it wasn't like he would, he ran hot with, with touchdowns, but he was also You know, in his— so he was pretty much healthy for 5 weeks. But in those weeks, he was averaging over 76 receiving yards per game, almost 10 targets in that time. So he just— he is a truly elite player.
Can he score double-digit touchdowns in New York, Mike?
Can he?
No. 4, 3, 7, 4. Obviously missed a bunch of time last year. That's a big question for top 10 potential.
I think he can get to 10.
He's good around the goal line. And if, I mean, it's not, it's not impossible that he gets 10, but it's not probable.
11 total red zone touchdowns in 4 years.
Yeah, that's, but the nice thing is the team environment is, is significantly different. I want to remind people last year, this version, last year's version of the Jets threw as a team for 2,385 yards, which is unimaginably bad. They've made significant improvements to the offensive line. They got a passing quarterback instead of a mobile quarterback in for this season. And, you know, Garrett Wilson is healthy. I am for where you're being— where he's being drafted. I'm all in. I think there's a guy who's guaranteed at least 140 targets, but he could end up with 170 targets.
Psst. Yeah. Mike's the lowest on him.
Yeah. This is incredible.
How can he be the lowest on all the players he mentioned?
I don't know. It makes no sense.
I don't know. I'm looking at the full rankings where it's the three of us. All right.
We finally have him.
I want to find out that Kyle's just goofing.
No, I mean, look, we finally have someone he's higher on. I'm the lowest on this guy. Number 13, Rashee Rice. Mike has him at 13. Jason at 11. I'm at 16. We talked about this briefly, I think yesterday. I am, I am cooling a little bit on Rashee Rice. I don't think he's a guaranteed wide receiver one. I do think he's a pretty guaranteed wide receiver two. But this is one of the offenses we talked about this. The Giants scored 7 more touchdowns in this team last year. And there were a lot of third down saves with Patrick Mahomes running the football. Now I've seen design runs in camp already from Patrick Mahomes. He is 7 months removed from that injury and looks fine. Yeah. But at the same time, you do need to manage that.
It's different when the, when the people are actually hitting you. Yeah.
When you take a shot to the knee. Yeah. I mean, so I've got him the highest at 11. Obviously on a points per game basis, he's way better than that in his career. Through 3 years in the NFL, he's been targeted on 30% of his routes. So only Puka and Malik Nabers are higher than that. This is like the first read, the design play, the get the ball in the hands, yards after catch guy who has always been good. I did move him down recently to 11. He was, he was higher than that. I just moved solely, solely because of I'm, I'm a little worried with the ramp up from the knee injury. Some of the videos look like he's not, he doesn't have that burst back yet, but we've got another month. And it was hard, you know, it's hard to rehab in jail. So I imagine, haven't been there.
You said that like a man who knows what he's talking about.
Yeah, I apologize. For full clarity, I have not yet been to jail.
What about rehabbed in jail?
I promise, should I go to jail, I will not rehab.
What about that as like a cool like gym idea? Like it's like the prison gym.
Oh, the prison gym.
But it's not like actual— Yeah, the prison yard is the name of it. Nice. And like you gotta like— A lot of times people come out of prison jacked.
Right. So maybe that's a good place.
So that's just in a parking lot.
Right. And there's like—
Oh, there's a chain link fence?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's all outdoors?
Yeah, well, I suppose it's mostly—
He's going to lean into the bit. Yeah.
You like burn out there.
And then like people just—
And they don't let you out until you lose weight.
Right. And then they just punch you in the face as you're leaving.
Like lose £20 or you stay. Yeah.
And every like 15th time there, someone gets jumped. Janked. Someone gets jumped. So you got to be in shape. You got to be in shape.
So just pretty much all the tennis is prison.
Yeah. Yeah. And then you can't—
and they don't let you leave, but you pay monthly to be there. Yeah. Yeah. And cigarettes.
Try getting out of that subscription. Impossible. Impossible.
Okay. So moving on.
If he's healthy, which we'll have better clarity as we get closer to the season, it is worth remembering how good he has been on the field for fantasy football. He's been a dominator. Even though it is a product of a system, you know, he's not just your prototypical great Justin Jefferson. What an amazing wide receiver. Yeah, I mean, he's been great for fantasy.
Yeah, the wild thing is, it's like, I know Cyrus Allen is getting like a week and a half of pub as a rookie. Yeah. But the thing about the Chiefs is that the reason that that can stick a little bit is you look at the receiver room and you're like, Put these guys in order. Like, Rashee's obviously at the top. Then you're talking— is it Thornton? I mean, or there's room for a player like Cyrus Allen to come in and have an impact if your tight end is 37 and your starting wide receiver is coming out of jail slash injury. There is room. And so if Rashee is healthy, there should be target share.
They really are going in on Mahomes. Like, they— like all the improvements of the team were just, we're like, we're going to make our defense the best our defense can possibly be. You're like, well, what about an offensive weapon? Ah, Kenneth Walker, baby.
Yeah. Look, I'm sure I'm higher than you on him. I mean, that's all I know. That is not possible. Oh, we're checking that.
We're checking that. There is no way. I'm pretty sure.
I have him at 2. No, I'm just kidding. You win. You win. I got him at 8, Mike. Where do you have him? You got to have him at 6. Okay. We did it. Malik Nabers at 12.
I was going to say I'll eat my hat, but then I got worried about eating my hat. Right.
You might have had to. Malik Nabers. Mike, you're the highest on Malik Nabers. Yeah. Yeah.
There we go.
I am not as convinced as you two.
A man coming off a destroyed knee.
I feel like we spent months and months and months talking about how it might be a slow start for Malik Nabers. And then you guys saw like one route and both jacked them up your rankings. I am slower to come around on Malik Nabers. Because I think, you know, these rankings are based on total season stats. The reports out of Giants camp is the offense has not looked good. We did get a report this morning, maybe worth mentioning, Malachi Fields may be in play for the wide receiver 2 spot. But, you know, this is, this is going to be an offense where Jackson Dart is going to have to adjust to being under center more. I don't know if it's going to play to his strengths as much, but I'm also the lowest, I think, on Jackson Dart of the 3 of us. So We all know the potential of Malik Nabers is Jamar Chase levels. So you guys might think 11 and 12 is tempering your expectations. It is.
It very much is. I think he gets off to a slow start statistically. Thankfully, the matchups in the beginning of the year, 3 of his first 4 weeks is Dallas, Tennessee, and Arizona. So, you know, you might be able to just find a broken piece of coverage and house something while you're, while you're trying to get to your true explosive self. But yeah, I mean, this is a guy where I think if he wasn't coming off of an ACL, he'd be top 5. You'd be picking him at the top 5. He's easily a first round wide receiver. Yeah.
So just a couple of guys that like Matt Nagy over here.
That is my— so I love Kyle saying that even the beat reporters are poo-pooing Matt Nagy. The Giants offensive reporters.
I wonder why he sucks. I want to be so in on Jackson Dart. I want to like, like, brother, you are moving. Matt Nagy is the reason.
You're moving to Clef Kingsbury. Oh, dude.
Matt Nagy is, he is not good at his very high paying job.
Well, don't worry. Jackson Dart in the Giants offense has scuffled early, but Jon Harbaugh isn't worried. Okay. And he's because of the speeches he's going to give to get him motivated. And he said the hardballs are having a tough offseason, by the way, between the— with the talking, with the talking, with the mouths, between the uninspiring speech by John and the incompetent answer by GM.
It's not incompetent. It was—
it was— I left my, like, my phone flashlight on. I don't know where I am.
It was a full brain reset. You know, if you haven't seen it, look for the clip between him and Colin Cowherd.
Like the window sound.
Yeah, it was, it was, yeah, for sure. It was like in the middle of talking about how things evolve. That's pretty good, Jay. He's like, how things evolve. Evolvement? Is evolve a word?
Is evolve a word?
Hey, we were there with the word mini.
Colin Coward's face was so funny too. Yeah, he didn't know what to do. But anyways, Matt Nagy sucks. Let's not bury the lead here. Matt Nagy sucks.
I just love you are exactly where I was. Like a couple months ago of just in the anger stage.
It's so infuriating that he gets a job because I was so—
my chips were all in on, on Dart and the offense of the Giants. And then they bring Matt Nagy in and it really brings it down.
We got the worst season from Lamar in a while last year, even in his healthy games under Harbaugh with an offensive coordinator we like. I do. I do have my fears. This is a tough division to play in. I know that they're the surprise team everybody wants to believe in. I just think I want my eyeballs to see it a little bit. And there's so many great wide receivers to take. Sure. Like the reason Jason traded from a league neighbors in League of Record wasn't for this year. Now maybe he gets this year. But I think we're— there are a couple teams that I think are a year out. I'm in that camp with the Saints. You guys are all in this year. I think I'm a year away from that. I'm a year away from the Giants being that team because they'll have a new OC. I think they will have a new OC, which means that they will struggle this year.
If the thing for Nabors that I'm okay with is the price is right now on Sleeper, he's going in the beginning of the fourth. We did our mock draft.
It's just, it's just not a true thing.
Well, we did our mock draft yesterday and I got him halfway through. The third. And it's, if you, if you know that Malik Nabers is a target, you know, I started running back, running back. So I knew that that was taken care of. And then I can take Malik Nabers and I can have enough guys at the wide receiver position to overcome and, and let it happen. Let it, you know, maybe you don't even play Malik Nabers week one. That sounds crazy for a third or fourth round pick. But I think that over the course of the second half of the year, If you can tread the water, then, then things become great. Like most people are like, you know what I'm going to do with Malik? I'm going to let someone else draft him. And then when they're really struggling, I'm going to go trade for neighbors there. I'm sure there's plenty of leagues that will work in, but I think there's also plenty of leagues that you'll get Malik. And then by the end of the year, you have a first round talent, fantasy football pick. That really takes your team to the next level.
Chris Olave at 11, the last name we're going to talk about today, guys, got paid this offseason. Jordan Tyson, Tyler Shook, Travis Achan Jr., Jawan Johnson and company, Kellen Moore, trying to get this offense on track after a disappointing year that saw a mix of Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shook on the back half of it. But throughout the entirety of the year, Chris Olave was a monster.
And talk about, you know, the Flowers touchdowns. Here's touchdowns for Chris Olave. 4, 5, 1.
Yeah, but you have Lamar throwing it to him for those.
But I'm saying, you know, like touchdowns, like, but very, like I said, the thing with Lamar is the variable was the offense changed and McBride was the quarterback change. A one change comes in and you're like, oh, that player is a 1,000-yard receiver. He should have more touchdowns. And Chris Olave, I got him last year.
Well, let me ask you this real quick because we talked about these guys, same draft class, same age. Olave, Garrett Wilson in dynasty, where are you with that question?
I, oh man, that's really tough. I think I'm on the Garrett Wilson side solely and only again. It is the concussion thing.
I'm all the way on the Olave side now.
I think Olave is a better player. I think the quarterback is a better player. Again, it is just the concussion worry for me as someone who's had them on my roster and felt at times like you had concussions. Oh, for sure. Yeah, for sure.
In my past, falling, falling off of the swing set, just falling down bars, maybe.
Dude, I crushed monkey bars.
Don't you worry about that. You don't want me to bring that up, Mike? Oh, you can. I want to know what the public thinks. You can bring it up. I want you to post a poll right now.
We have more doozers in the office though. We can talk to them.
I'll post a poll. I think I could do monkey bars like from one side to the other, like no problem. I can swing across a monkey bar set.
Al, are you confident in your monkey bar capabilities? I'm confident that I could not do that. Okay. I don't understand. Al realizes he can't. This has been a debate.
This is a man who's been humbled by the monkey bars.
Jason is so confident. You're as confident in the monkey bars as landing a 747.
Yeah, with someone in my ear, but yes, I could do either.
I could, we can even do radio in the ear on the monkey bars.
You won't be able to do it. Now swing to the left.
Like you're, it's not, it's not just upper body. It's also a lot of grip strength.
Matt, you are the size of a child. Of course they're easy for you. You're in your 20s.
When's the last time you did monkey bars, Matt? Uh, it's been a while, but I'm pretty confident I could do them. Uh, well, Josh, what do you think about that?
I think Matt could probably do it. Okay. Jason, no way. You're right. There is no way I couldn't do it. You are correct.
No way I could not do this. There are different challenges we can put on the internet and this is one of them.
Yeah. Well, I'd crush them anyways. Back to Olave. Like physically. I'd just pull them down. I get on the monkey bars. They just start sinking into the sand. Is this quicksand or what?
You're just standing like, this is so easy.
Yeah, just walking across the field.
What'd you write down on your board there?
Okay, what I wrote down was, so Olave had a great season. Olave finished as the wide receiver 6 on the course of the season, and he was good both with Rattler and with Shuck. However, he was significantly better with Shuck. Here's the splits. With Rattler, he was on pace for 110 receptions, 1,000 yards, and 6 touchdowns. That's good.
That's, that's pretty darn good. That's 11.
That's 11.5 fantasy points. But once he got Shuck, and keep in mind, this was rookie Shuck who started slow. The course of all of the starts with Shuck, he would have had a 17-game pace of 102 receptions, 1,400 yards, and 12.8 touchdowns, 15.8 fantasy points. That's, that's easily top 5 fantasy wide receiver in half point. So it's exciting to get that quarterback in tow, which is why, Andy, I don't blame you for saying you're significantly on the Olave side in the dynasty.
I don't think he's going to, you know, the target share is going to be different this year. Yeah. You got to remember last year it was super juiced at the end. Well, it was, it was, they traded Rashid Shaheed. They're, they're, they're only other target halfway through the year.
How dare you, Velay.
Yeah. Well, but then like I said, Velay got hurt. Like Velay was actually becoming a thing there.
So adding Jordan Tyson, you know, what you hope for is that he stays efficient. Scoring touchdowns, the target share stays high, but you are going to need to spread the rock around a little bit. And can Shuck be, you know, you got to figure out if Shuck is in the 3,500 or the 4,500-yard category because that makes a huge difference on supporting two wide receivers. Burrow can do it because, you know, this is what you just brought up with Caleb Williams. It's like if Caleb Williams, you just said if he throws for under 4,000, you're going to have a problem with the Odunze-Burden-Loveland combination.
I am more confident that Shuck has more passing yards than Caleb this year. Like that— as are the books. Yeah, I mean, the books projected that way in Vegas and it makes sense with the defense, the pace of play, the running game for both teams. I think that the passing volume will be larger. Last year, the usage splits, the target percentages were the same, 30% the first 8 weeks, 30% the last.
That's what I was going to ask. Does Olave with the addition of a top 10 NFL drafted wide receiver, does Olave stay at 30%?
No, no, he does not. There's no way he's going to have— with Jordan Tyson on the field, I can't put him at a 30% target share. I have him at a 24.5% target share this year. That's a major dip. It is a major dip, but that's still 140 targets. There's going to be a lot of volume on this team.
They also didn't have a running game and they tried to bring that in this offseason with the signing of Travis Achan Jr.
Well, I don't know if they have a running game still.
Well, it is a huge investment by the team. It is. But saying this is— we want to balance this offense out a little bit. So we'll see what happens. But we're going to count down the top 10 running backs or sorry, wide receivers on the Monday show. We'll move into running back rankings.
Find out who Mike actually likes. Yes.
I think maybe I just don't like anyone.
I think you're the lowest on all players. That was funny. That was good. All right, we'll be back. It's just not possible. I don't know how it happened. No. But as I said, Zay Flowers for the win, guys. Goodbye.
