00:01:50

You got that in God bless football, Fuentes.

00:01:53

God bless footballs. You got. Thank you. Mike Fuentes, a very tired. Mike Fuentes.

00:01:57

Very low also.

00:01:58

Yeah. Yes. Wow. He's tired. And we miss Mikey. You snuck that one in. That was stealth, Billy. That was good. Awesome.

00:02:04

Hey, godless football.

00:02:06

I know, but I'm surprised Mikey. Aiden cut you off, that's all.

00:02:09

I was responsible.

00:02:10

Yes, I know.

00:02:11

You're not company.

00:02:12

New York chemistry.

00:02:13

Yeah. You're sneaking another one.

00:02:14

Hey, Mikey. Where have you been? We haven't spoken to you in a few.

00:02:18

Forever.

00:02:19

We missed you last week sometimes. And then Monday you were still traveling. How was your big football trip?

00:02:25

It was. It was fun. It was fun.

00:02:27

We.

00:02:27

We went to see that Thursday night game. Kirk Cousins and the. Against the Bucks. That was.

00:02:33

That was a lot of fun.

00:02:33

That was a great game.

00:02:34

Went to. It really was. We had, yeah, we had a good time there. That stadium. Fantastic. Fantastic. That stadium.

00:02:42

Yeah.

00:02:42

Got to see Matt Ryan inducted into the Ring of Honor. Not as much pomp and circumstances for Matt as you think.

00:02:50

Right.

00:02:50

But then we went to Georgia Auburn, where the biggest cheer was when they showed the Alabama score and Mike Golic saved me. I want to say I'm going to, I'm going to, I'm going to use hyperbole and say hundreds of dollars. Mike Golic saved me hundreds of dollars for a story he told on this show.

00:03:07

Really?

00:03:08

But he hooked you up with tickets.

00:03:09

Yeah.

00:03:09

What happened?

00:03:10

No, didn't have to. So Mike Golic said when he went to Athens last time, he got a parking ticket for a dollar 35. And parking at the stadium for Georgia is anywhere from like $80 to like 5000. Like, if you go online, you can buy a parking pass for one game for like $5,000.

00:03:30

Right.

00:03:31

But I parked on the street and saw that there was a metered parking and I was like, well, I'll just, I'll just take a parking ticket. So it was $25 for a parking ticket. Asked the meter mate, I was like, will you tow the car if it's like, if it has a ticket on it? She's like, nope, we don't tow. I was like, fine, I'll just leave it here, take the dollar 25. Ticket paid. It didn't have to buy parking.

00:03:52

Wow. So the overall experience of Athens, because I've told you, it's a great place. Did you, did you enjoy it or.

00:04:00

Listen, it was, it's, it's definitely an SEC college town. It was, it was, it was awesome.

00:04:05

Right? Matty ice getting into the Falcons ring of honor and not getting much ovation, according to Mikey, is funny to speaker two. I never got booed a little bit. I know that's not true, but he's probably the best quarterback in the history of that franchise.

00:04:20

He got booed easily.

00:04:22

Why?

00:04:22

He got booed a little bit.

00:04:23

Why? Because they had a big lead in a Super bowl and he blew it. I mean, exactly.

00:04:27

That would be the reason, probably.

00:04:29

Here's the thing, also, you were watching a historic performance by Kirk Cousins. And I would say this, if you were taking someone who had never been to a football game before to that game, and they saw what Kirk Cousins did over 500 passing yards, they'd look at that man and they'd say, you know what? That's a first battle hall of Famer. They would first ballad I think they'd think that.

00:04:49

The problem with you is you thought it before that game.

00:04:52

I mean, some people are saying I might be a visionary.

00:04:55

Don't get bogged down in the details.

00:04:57

Yeah.

00:04:57

But also, also I did some people throw an addendum in there and say after the injury, well, this is kind of throwing that trajectory off a little bit.

00:05:04

So you did do that.

00:05:05

Yes.

00:05:05

But he's back on track now.

00:05:06

Well, I don't know about that. I feel like I safely found my way to distance myself away from that take and I'm going to stay distanced away.

00:05:13

We have, it's a big weekend in football, college and NFL. Chris Simms is going to join us. I'm going to have my picks coming up. By the way, I was six and, oh, Steve got last weekend. Yeah, yeah. Eight and five in college. Eight and five. Listen, I do what I can around here, you know, but there are some big games. Mikey, before we get to Chris Sims, before we talk about some of these games, I was surprised when the jets announced that they had fired Robert Salah. I'm assuming you were surprised as well.

00:05:40

I was definitely surprised that it happened. Now I'm not surprised that it happened. I mean, it's funny to watch all these people screaming like, how do you fire him? How do you fire him? But like last week they were like, he's the worst coach in the NFL. Like he belonged getting fired. I don't know about the timing, but he's not a good head coach. He's just not.

00:06:02

It's the first time since Woody Johnson has owned the New York jets that he has fired a coach in season. He has never done that before.

00:06:09

Yes, Mikey, anytime Woody Johnson wants to do anything different than what he's done the last two decades, I'm okay with it. Because what he's done the last two decades hasn't worked.

00:06:22

Yes.

00:06:23

Right.

00:06:23

So maybe this time, maybe this time it will give the team a jolt that they sorely need headed into a big game against the Buffalo Bills. It was interesting, though, to, to fire Robert Salibilli mid season. And then Aaron Rogers goes on the Pat McAfee show and says he resents any sort of reaction in which people are blaming me for the firing of Robert Salah. I found that funny, like laugh out laugh, but that Aaron Rodgers is resenting media members who are speculating whether or not he had something to do with the firing of his head coach.

00:07:00

It seems somewhat impossible to believe.

00:07:03

I will say that Rogers didn't have anything to do?

00:07:06

Yes. I mean, especially when he spoke to him the day before.

00:07:09

Right? The night before.

00:07:10

Seems very unlikely that that never came up in that conversation.

00:07:14

Yes.

00:07:14

What do I know? Maybe Aaron's innocent. Maybe it's just a coincidence that Salah wanted to demote his friend Nathaniel Hackett.

00:07:21

And.

00:07:21

And I think they did have that conversation shortly thereafter.

00:07:24

They did, though.

00:07:25

Yeah. And then shortly after was replaced. And also, Nathaniel Hackett still got demoted.

00:07:29

Anyway, so just think about the idea that a conversation was had. And the next day, Woody Johnson, the owner, fires the coach. And Rogers says, we didn't speak about it when they were talking about everything else. What did they talk about?

00:07:43

What did they talk about?

00:07:44

That.

00:07:45

What Aaron Rodgers and Woody johnson have in common. It's like catch up. Like, did you see what's going on? What are they talking about?

00:07:54

Get out of here with that.

00:07:56

Oh.

00:07:56

What do you think about only murders in the building? It's like, I don't think that's the conversation that's being had there.

00:08:00

Even in the chance that the small chance that Aaron is telling the truth, he had nothing to do with it. He has earned us doubting whether or not he had something to do with it. Like, we're all speculating that he had something to do with it, because he's earned that. So even if he's telling the truth, that's on him, not on us. That's on Aaron Rodgers. You know what? I resent the three interceptions last week. I resent all three. Not one. All three of them. I resent them.

00:08:25

He could be telling the truth, but in that way of, like, plausible deniability, where, like, he didn't say fire Salah. He goes, listen, I just think a change needs to happen at the. At the top. So you want me to fire Salah? I didn't say that.

00:08:37

Right?

00:08:38

I didn't say that.

00:08:39

The way you imagine it going.

00:08:40

I'm just saying that something needs to happen.

00:08:43

Things could be a little different.

00:08:45

So then what happens? So then. So then he says, I need. It can't be Nathaniel Hackett. In fact, we have to demote him to get the smoke off of you, right? So it looks like you're not running this organization. Is that what happened? Is that. Is that the way you imagine it?

00:09:00

I think. I think it was very plausible deniability. That's exactly how I think it.

00:09:05

Are you guys turning on Aaron? That's kind of what it feels like right now.

00:09:09

Oh, no, I'm not turning on Aaron. I'm not. No, because he's right. Yeah. He's right. They should fire. Just own it. Just about say, yeah, you're damn right. I got that guy fired. He stinks.

00:09:18

What is this by you? What is this by Aaron? And you're like, at what point are you guys wondering if Aaron was the right decision?

00:09:26

Oh, I'm not there yet.

00:09:27

I should. I shouldn't say the right decision because I think, you know, a hundred times out of 100, you take Aaron Rodgers over Zack Wilson. Right. But, like, at what point do you start wondering, is this going to end the way we were thinking it might.

00:09:40

The day they're eliminated from the playoffs?

00:09:42

Okay.

00:09:42

Yeah. He's still the best quarterback we've ever had.

00:09:45

Listen, you're playing for first place this week.

00:09:47

So we got a game for first place against the Buffalo Bills. And they have coaching issues of their own, by the way. But it's going to be an interesting game. I mean, they. Do they have coaching issues over there?

00:09:57

Sure.

00:09:58

Why'd you look at me like issues? I don't.

00:10:00

Coaching. Top of their problem.

00:10:01

But.

00:10:02

Okay.

00:10:02

Well, I mean, they were blasting. They were blasting their coach last week because of time management and stuff like that. And if I had Josh Allen, I would have done exactly what he did in that spot. They had the ball in the three yard line, Billy, and a lot of people said, hey, you got to run out the clock there. He threw three straight times. He's got one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. So it's going to be a great game. Bills and jets. The fact, mikey, that we have not looked good and we have a game for first place. It's not many times in my lifetime where I've been able to say, hey, the jets have a game for first place. They're taking.

00:10:32

Are we sure it's going to be a great game?

00:10:34

Well, no, we're not.

00:10:35

Okay.

00:10:35

No, not even a little bit.

00:10:38

I'm having a hard time this year watching a game, going into it, knowing it's going to be a great game. Game.

00:10:45

What's the game you go into? Like Cincinnati, Kansas City, we all knew was going to be a great game and it was. It was a one point game.

00:10:52

Yeah, but that's one of like 50 that have been played.

00:10:54

Yeah. I just. This year it's been. It's been hard to find, I think the great game.

00:11:00

Right.

00:11:00

I mean, Washington Baltimore seems like it should be a great game this week.

00:11:04

But we have no idea.

00:11:04

But we have no idea.

00:11:05

To your point. Yeah.

00:11:06

Just like everything else.

00:11:07

Here's something that we do know. After this week, there's still going to be two undefeated teams in the NFL. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that right now.

00:11:14

Really?

00:11:14

Yeah.

00:11:15

Because the Chiefs have a bye week.

00:11:16

And so do the. So do the Vikings.

00:11:18

Okay. Neither one of them.

00:11:23

Yep.

00:11:23

The two undefeated teams are the chiefs of the Vikings. Lions. Cowboys. Is another game that you think is going to be good, but you don't know.

00:11:29

I really don't know. I don't know about the Cowboys.

00:11:32

You don't, huh?

00:11:33

Yeah.

00:11:33

You know about the Lions.

00:11:36

I think I know.

00:11:37

Right.

00:11:37

But I'm not sure if I know. You know something that I do know.

00:11:40

What?

00:11:40

If you want to compete against us in our listener league.

00:11:42

Yes.

00:11:43

You go to Dkng CEO slash Smirnoff.

00:11:47

Really?

00:11:47

Listener league is presented by Smirnoff, the world's number one vodka. Please drink responsibly. Nice little week for me last week, hopped back out of the 300 into the. Feel like I'm trending in the right direction and I may be hitting pay dirt. No pun intended.

00:12:00

Really?

00:12:00

Yeah.

00:12:00

Not for nothing. When you finished higher than 18, then you can come talk to me because that's where I finished last week, 18. Just saying. Got a nice little paycheck from. From draftkings and deposited into my account. I am in a draftking state.

00:12:14

Look at you.

00:12:15

And. Yeah.

00:12:16

Wow. Yeah.

00:12:16

I. 18. So, I mean, if anybody needs any tips this week, right.

00:12:22

I like keeping, keeping the tips to myself.

00:12:24

Yes.

00:12:25

Oh.

00:12:25

I don't give people the good tips of.

00:12:26

Oh, all right. I like that.

00:12:28

But I'll tell them.

00:12:29

So you tell them opposite of what you're actually thinking. Right? Sure. Yeah. Uh huh. Did Billy finish top five? Didn't you finish top five?

00:12:36

I finished fifth. I think week one. Yeah, something like that was in there in the five to seven range.

00:12:41

Tomato, tomato.

00:12:43

That's not super.

00:12:44

What have you done for me lately?

00:12:45

Yeah.

00:12:46

By the way, Ohio State and Oregon are playing each other this week.

00:12:49

It's a big game.

00:12:50

It is a big game.

00:12:51

That's a thing.

00:12:51

Also, Ole Miss and LSU, sneaky, possibly playoff elimination game.

00:12:56

So I think the new, I think the new matchup between undefeated teams, that's out the window. Like, undefeated teams. I don't get excited for those games anymore because even like Alabama, Georgia, it was a great game, but Alabama has lost since. They're still getting into the playoff. Georgia, they lost that game. They're still going to get into the playoffs. And so you're right, Ole Miss, LSU, loser, not making the playoffs. The matchup of one lost teams is the new matchup of undefeated teams, if that makes sense.

00:13:26

You're more excited about that than number two against number three.

00:13:29

Yes. Okay.

00:13:30

Oddly, yeah, it does make sense.

00:13:32

Thank you. It does.

00:13:33

I just. I don't believe that you believe Billy.

00:13:36

LSU, Ole Miss. The loser of that game is out.

00:13:38

No, I know I said that.

00:13:39

Okay. So that game, to me, would be more exciting if you have a loser season is over game, as opposed to Oregon and Ohio State. If they lose. Not the best thing, but they could still get in. I'll take the matchup of two one loss teams. All right.

00:13:53

Much higher stakes.

00:13:54

Thank you.

00:13:55

So they're on at the exact same time. That's the game you're going to be tuned into?

00:13:59

Probably not. I mean.

00:14:03

Watching Ohio State, Oregon. Sorry.

00:14:04

I mean, neither team has lost a matchup of undefeated. No. Defeated Billy. No.

00:14:14

Two, three.

00:14:15

I mean, how does that happen?

00:14:16

Have it lost. Yeah, that's what that means.

00:14:18

Big ten implications.

00:14:19

I think Ohio State's gonna win that game.

00:14:21

Do you?

00:14:22

And win big. Yeah, I don't think Oregon's that good era.

00:14:25

They always do this, Oregon.

00:14:27

Yeah, this is their.

00:14:28

This is their spot to let you down.

00:14:29

Yeah, it really is something Oregon always does. Right. They just always let you down.

00:14:35

Well, Ohio State kind of does it as well, but, I mean, yeah, but.

00:14:38

Oregon has, like a 20 year history of. This is why they started doing the whole uniform thing. Like, oh, they're so cool. And it's like, yeah, but you know, they're going to lose at the end. Like, we know exactly how this season's.

00:14:45

Going to go is organing the new clemsoning.

00:14:49

Wow. Maybe I got to tell you that K State matchup with Colorado to one loss teams, that's a big one, too.

00:14:55

Don't look now. Clemson back in the top ten.

00:14:57

I know, but they can't lose again.

00:14:58

No, they can't.

00:14:59

They can't. It's amazing. Like, that's. I guess I'm trying to figure out if I like this new college football season.

00:15:06

I can Alabama lose again?

00:15:08

I think you're trying to figure it.

00:15:09

Alabama can lose again. And I would say Alabama can lose two more times and still get in. That's as long as one of them's to Georgia. What? Why are you looking like that?

00:15:23

You're a lot.

00:15:25

Yeah. Chris. Next.

00:15:29

Listen up, folks. The college football landscape has changed a lot. Nil deals, social media, the transfer portal. There's never been more distractions for an athlete. But Poweraid knows what's important. The commitment to the game with 50% more electrolytes than Gatorade thirst quencher. Powerade hydrates athletes as they block out the noise and put in the work. 00:16:09

Simms.

00:16:10

Was it hard for you to watch what happened to Tampa over the last couple of days with the weather situation because you played down there and you have, you have an attachment to that city.

00:16:17

So I always think of them.

00:16:19

I do.

00:16:19

Yeah. I mean, it's, it's, you know, my heart's always with that city, to a degree. Yeah. They drafted me. They were great to me there. The fans, it's a special organization. They are good people. So, yeah, I definitely have been thinking about them. Was watching the news late last night. I had been there during a hurricane early on in my career, so I know what it can get, like there. I mean, literally to the point where you jets, you can jet ski down streets, right? I mean, the last time we were there, that's how it was. And I'm sure there was some of that going on yesterday as well. But hope everybody's okay back in Tampa.

00:16:53

Yes, same. On behalf of everyone here with God bless football, our thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted by that storm, especially people on the west coast of Florida, because it was horrific and we haven't learned the extent of the damage yet, but I'm certain that we will in the upcoming days. But I did want to ask Chris about that because he has an attachment to that city. Pft with Mike Florio. You can check it out every day on Peacock, the unbuttoned podcast as well. Football night in America, Sunday Night Football. Man, the NFL, it is getting good since Jaden Daniels, Lamar Jackson coming up this weekend. What a fun time, huh?

00:17:29

Oh, yeah. I mean, that should be a great one. Certainly. I know, like a lot of people have tried to make comparisons about Jaden Daniels and Lamar Jackson. And I get it to a degree. I do think there's a different style of play, right. And a little bit Lamar Jackson when he came into the league was like, right from the get go, it was like, oh, is it him or Michael Vick are the greatest running quarterbacks ever? Jayden Daniels is really good at running, but not to that extent. He's better in the pocket, though, throwing the football and making decisions than Lamar was early on in his career. Two special players. I do think the Ravens are in a little bit of a different class as a football team than Washington. This will go a long way. If Washington keeps this close or even pulls off the victory, it'll make me think differently of them. But when the Ravens are at their best, I kind of look at them and go, ooh, I don't know if I've seen a team in football that's as good as them when they're at their best or they're certainly up in that hierarchy.

00:18:22

Washington, a lot of good. But I think it's been also a schedule that fits them and is favorable that way. And Jayden Daniels has been phenomenal, don't get me wrong, but I think this is a different animal they're facing this week, going into Baltimore and seeing this team.

00:18:35

Chris, what do you make of his response when someone brought up the comparisons to Lamar Jackson? Jaden said, no, I am not Lamar Jackson. He rejected those comparisons, but I think that's what makes the great ones great. I think he thinks in his mind, no, I'm a better version of Lamar Jackson.

00:18:52

Right. Or his own version of it, and he's just better than Lamar in general. Like, I don't disagree with you there. I don't. You know, but. But I think where. Yeah, like I said, and I think he probably looks at it and he's probably going, wait, I don't want to, first off, compare myself to a guy who's won two mvp's and is, you know, looks like he might be on his way to the hall of Fame, really, in Lamar Jackson. He doesn't want to do that. And then I think he probably recognizes a little bit what I said. He's. He plays the game a little differently than Lamar. Right. Lamar came into the Ravens and it was like, oh, my gosh, these runs. Holy cow, he's running down the field and spin, spinning off of blocker or tacklers and splitting people and stiff arming people. Jayden Daniels is more, hey, I'm looking. I want to throw the ball. I want to make a great decision. Okay, nothing's there. All right. Now, I got out on the edge and I go from there. So there is a different style of play. Jaden Daniels definitely has a little bit more pocket presence, pocket passer in his DNA.

00:19:50

Maybe the Lamar did early in his career.

00:19:52

Were you surprised when you heard the news the jets had fired Robert Salah?

00:19:56

Of course. Shocked?

00:19:58

Yes.

00:19:59

Yeah. Shocked. I mean, you win this week and you're in first place in the AFC east. The strength of your football team is the defense. He's a defensive head coach. I mean, nobody's done what they did last week to the Minnesota Vikings offense. We've seen the Texans. We've seen the 49 ers. Right. The Vikings have marched down everybody and just exploded offensively. They couldn't do that against the jets because the Jets d is real. It is real. So, yes, I was shocked, and I don't even know what to make of it. You know, it just seems like maybe Woody had this thought in his brain in the offseason. Didn't do it. They go to UK, where we know Woody was the ambassador in the UK, they kind of get embarrassed and lose, you know, the emotions of that. The offense has not been very good. You know, was there a meeting on Monday morning about, or about, you know, maybe we should change the coordinator and have a different play caller. Did that get, you know, the. The conversations going, or. I think that was Tuesday morning. Excuse me. You know, I have a hard time believing.

00:21:00

Oh, yeah, Rogers and Woody Johnson talked the night before, but they didn't talk about the most important thing in their organization. Okay. Okay, guys.

00:21:07

Sure.

00:21:08

I believe you. So, yeah, I don't believe much of what comes out of Rogers mouth anymore. And, yeah, it's a crazy situation.

00:21:15

I do love Rogers saying he resents any. Any notion that he had anything to do with his fight. No, he's earned that.

00:21:21

Come, Chris.

00:21:22

Even if he did it, even if he's telling the truth, he has earned us not trusting him. Okay. Like that speaker one.

00:21:27

Well, it definitely has. And if. I would say if he didn't talk to Woody Johnson about this, then they're. They're stupid. That's all I would say.

00:21:33

Right.

00:21:33

Like, that would be bad business on their part, so I don't believe that. Yes, he's made me not believe much of what he said. And come on. Mikey a knows as a Jet fan, they've. All they've done is bow down to Aaron Rodgers ever since he's gotten there, so. Oh, yeah. Now this one, they didn't listen to him. They've listened to him on everything else about every subject in the world. And he gives nine state of the union dresses on the team every week, but not on the biggest subject in the team's history. No, he didn't talk about that one. Okay, guys, sure. Yeah. All right. The fairy godmother is real, too, so. Yeah, I don't. I don't believe any of that crap. And here's the other aspect, why I'm on it. Because you guys know Aaron Rodgers at his best. I think he's arguably the greatest quarterback of all time, but he's not a top ten quarterback right now. He's not that. And I'm sick of people jumping on Nathaniel Hackett for the this offense is Aaron Rodgers offense. Okay, to speak to our point again, that it's all Rogers. He king Rogers with the jets organization.

00:22:34

This is not, Nathaniel Hackett did not run this offense like this when he was the offensive coordinator of the Jacksonville Jaguars, nor was it exactly like this when he was the head coach of the Denver Broncos. So this is what Aaron Rodgers wants to do. This is why Green Bay got exhausted with him. He wants to throw at three yards and three yards and three yards and then behind the line of scrimmage, minus three yards. And he hopes everybody else will work that way from him. And this is him. So, like, what's going to happen now that they changed the Todd downing? What? Like, is they really going to change? I got to see that to believe that one.

00:23:06

So how big of a deal is that to change offensive coordinators right now? How are they going to change so.

00:23:13

Much about how they change it? I think they did it for appearances, to give the appearance. Thank you.

00:23:19

Yeah, I mean, what are they going to do? Aaron, let's put three tight ends in and then run it up the middle. He'll be like, shotgun, three yard pass. Okay. Hey, let's do this. Aaron, shotgun, two yard pass. Okay. I audible. I saw something. I had audible to that. The two yard pass. I don't think it's going to change much. Like I said, I got to see it to believe it. You know, Todd Downing does have a different style and how he calls plays on that side of the ball, I think we'll know pretty quickly. But I don't know why Rogers wouldn't want to change. Like, they ran a few play action passes last week and he threw a deep comeback to Garrett Wilson on the right side. And I know I told you this last week, I'd love to see more of that. He threw it great. And I think Garrett Wilson was like, whoa. And he actually dropped the ball. Like, went off his face because I think he was like, whoa. He threw it more than ten yards down the field on a different route than a go round. Like, and he dropped it.

00:24:12

I think it was shock. But, like, what about those plays? Do you not? Like, I don't understand why they wouldn't want to change. You know, as I told you last week, the offense is so predictable. I sit in the NBC screening room and call out his plays all the time.

00:24:29

Wow.

00:24:29

So if you think I'm calling him out, what do you think Brian Flores was coaching his team last week. What do you think Sean Payton and Vance Joseph did when they face good defensive coordinators? They're going to be all over his basic stuff that he does on the offensive side of the ball.

00:24:44

Billy made a strange face, had an odd reaction to you saying you're calling the plays before Aaron runs them. What happened there, Billy?

00:24:50

Well, because, like, Tony Romo parlayed that into like, $80 million. Like, Chris, what are we doing? Let's do that same thing. Let's go on there.

00:24:58

Nobody wants to give me the number one job on a network, right?

00:25:01

Why not?

00:25:02

Because my career wasn't good enough. I mean, I barely hang on to where I am because my career wasn't good enough. We, you know, tv execs, they love big names that don't really follow the sport. They love that.

00:25:14

So I can't do that name names.

00:25:16

Tony Romo didn't turn it into weekly appearances on God bless.

00:25:20

He's not quite as big time as me, so he can't quite do that yet.

00:25:24

I want the big time quarterback who's not watching football. Who is it? Brady. Say it. Do it. Come on.

00:25:28

No, Brady's watching football, okay. No, no, it's not them. Them is that. I have no problem with those guys. Those guys watch the sport. They live it, they love it. They don't. I wasn't necessarily speaking to them. I was more speaking just to the general. The general, exactly the way it is. The philosophy of a lot of tv people.

00:25:52

Chris, there is hope for the jets offense. I saw you tweet this out. The Bucks offense with Tom Brady really didn't start clicking till late in that season when they won the Super bowl. So I guess there is hope if you're a jeff, and that that offense will get going at some point, correct?

00:26:06

Yeah, that. That's why I don't understand the decision to fire him. Right. I don't think any of us expected them to be five and, oh, here. I know they're a really good team. Right. The roster is phenomenal. So, yeah, two and three is disappointing. I get that. But I did not expect them to be like, oh, high functioning, unbelievable looking team here right away. It takes time. It takes time for everybody to get on the same page as Rogers and what he wants to do and how he wants to run that offense and. Yeah, that was my point. I mean, we were sitting there in week twelve with the Bucks and Brady gone, man. I don't know. They going to make it in the playoffs. I don't even know if they're going to get there. It doesn't look good. And all sudden, it hit that point of the year, week 1314, it was like, ooh, that kind of looks good. Oh, my gosh. Oh, wait. We're getting in the playoffs, and they're kind of on fire on offense. And then that continued. So, yeah, that, to me, was the shocking part there. But we'll see where this goes now, especially with Todd downing having more say on the offense.

00:27:01

What'd you make of the Patriots decision to start drake?

00:27:05

May I like it. I do. I'm always in favor of that. Get him out there. Get going. Right. Like you guys have heard me say before, you can't practice. 70,000 fans screaming and guys literally trying to rip your head off. For real for the first time. There's no way to emulate that at the quarterback position. Get them out there. Get going. It's going to be a tough first test. Yeah. The Texans defense is good. I expect them to make a few mistakes in the football game. I really do. But we know what Jacoby Brissett is. We know what the end potential is there. This is a kid that they believe in. He does have potential, and I think with them, you hope, hey, he, he gets going here. He gets playing. He starts to show, you know, in a few weeks. Hey, whoa, there's some talent here. There's some light at the end of the tunnel with the Patriots, and hopefully by the end of the year, he could be playing well enough to where free agents that are out there will go. You know what? The Patriots, Drake may, I want to go play there.

00:28:00

They got some stuff working there, and I think that's, you know, got to be part of their plan. But, yeah, it won't be easy at first. We know they're not a super talented team.

00:28:07

What about someone like Spencer Rattler? What do they do with him if he starts succeeding? Because Derek Carr is not going anywhere.

00:28:14

No, no. But, you know, I got to look at Derek con, Derek Carr's contract overall. I would think that they could probably get out of the deal with them and then within this year, if not next year, well, I'm sure this year there's probably some sort of cap hit.

00:28:29

His base, next year's 30, his base, the next year's 50. Look at cap hits here, 51 million.

00:28:36

What's his guaranteed money left, do you know? Or anything there? I would think they could get out of this. Yeah, this year after this year, if possible, probably with a cap charge, but nothing too egregious but we'll see. We'll have to do some, some more digging there. One, I don't expect Spencer Ratliff to be a threat to take anybody's job quite yet. I mean, first off, their, their offensive line is banged up. They got their ass whooped against the Chiefs, like, to a point that I didn't expect them to get back. And I guess they were a little more banged up than I expected they were when I had to pick the game earlier last week. But that was a, I think, more of a demoralizing loss rather than, oh, man, we, we played tough against the Chiefs and now we're pissed off and we're going to play better this week. I think that's more of like, whoa, we're not even in their class and we got injuries and we lost our quarterback.

00:29:28

Uh oh.

00:29:29

And I don't expect them to put up much of a fighting effort this week in this football game against the Buccaneers. I don't, I think the Buccaneers will be pissed off and ready to go and. Yeah, with that offensive line being the way it is and Spencer Ratliff not being a elite thrower, the football, I'm not expecting big things there.

00:29:47

Billy, Chris Simms is with us. Should the Steelers go to Russell Wilson?

00:29:53

I understand it if they do. I mean, last week certainly was a little concerning. I've been wanting to say, hey, stay with Justin Fields. The style of play, it all works. He's, he's been getting better. Right. But last week was all Justin Fields. I watched that film on, on Tuesday. He missed throws. He made bad decisions. He missed people that are wide open and didn't even look at him or looked at him and I don't know, just didn't throw, throw it to them anyways. So he cracked the door open for, for Russell Wilson. The fact that he was a full participant yesterday. I mean, I guess I'm expecting him to start this week. I am. But I do. If it is Justin Fields, right. He better play well, if he just plays. Okay, I think it'll be the last week of Justin Fields. I do think that. But I guess in my heart of hearts I'm expecting to see Russell Wilson Sunday.

00:30:43

Sims, a lot of videos floating around of George Pickens in that game. Kind of running half ass. What do you do with someone like that when on film? You're just not trying.

00:30:55

Yeah, it's not, you know, first off, it's the least the plays I saw, right. And I didn't sit there and go, let me see if he's loafing or hustling here. When I'm watching the film, I got too much film to watch. Sometimes they're like, dig into that kind of stuff. But like, I see what people are talking about. I saw some of the clips now, some of the plays where, hey, it's a runaway or whatever and he's not involved and it doesn't really matter. And I think people are like picking on him a little bit and there are some routes down the field where you'd like to say, hey, run the route. Totally. You don't know the quarterback's not going to throw you the ball, right? I know this is a look where he shouldn't throw you the ball. And I think that's where he's smart and he goes, wait a. This ain't coming to me on this coverage, but it's still not a good look. And he takes a little off the gas pedal to a point to where, yeah, it jumps out. Not that everybody runs every route across football at 100% right.

00:31:46

You could see Tyree killing a game against the Dolphins. When he goes, wait, I'm going deep. They're in a coverage where I'm not going to get it. He doesn't go 100% full speed, but he doesn't jog. He still runs pretty hard, you know what I mean? And I think that's what you want to see from Pickens. But yeah, you know, this is the problem with their offense, their lack of passing game. And Pickens is a little bit of a pain in the butt that way. And when he doesn't get the ball and get things his way, he can seem to get frustrated and, you know, for lack of a better way to say it, pout or get frustrated, whatever you want to say there. But yeah, they need to get that right and they need him in the game because he's their only offensive player that is capable of doing outside, you know, the realm of what's drawn up on the playbook.

00:32:27

Chris, it was interesting, and I'm wondering your thoughts here. I think for the first week this season, I could safely say that last weekend Caleb Williams outplayed Jaden Daniels. Do you agree?

00:32:38

I agree. Like two weeks in a row, bears offense going like this, creativity and stuff, right?

00:32:46

Yeah.

00:32:46

You know, they, they had some veteran players a few weeks ago have a meeting with Shane Waldron and they said, you're not trusting us. We got to open up the offense. It's too basic. Mercedes Lewis being one of those guys. It does look like ever since that point, they've been like, okay, let's open up the vault. I was thoroughly impressed watching that film on Tuesday morning. One Caleb Williams is special.

00:33:12

Yes.

00:33:12

His ability to scramble and make people miss behind the scroll line of scrimmage is up there with anybody in football. I mean, he had a touchdown run called back. That was one of the damnedest six or seven yard scramble runs you'll see, right. His arm is off the charts good. It's off the charts on the run. I think he has the strongest arm in football, and I don't say that lightly because Josh Allen has, like, one of the strongest arms I've ever seen on the run.

00:33:35

Wow.

00:33:35

So. And same with Mahomes. So they're special, but the offense has got it going. They do a lot of different stuff. You know me, guys, like, for a great offense, you need to have a zig for every zag. You got to have checks and balances. You got to give. Hey, we're running this play. Oh, it's a play that looks like that. Ooh. But it's different. We got a curveball off of our curveball, and they got that going. And there was a nice flow to the offense, let alone their block a little up front. And Deandre Swift is running mad, so. You're right, Stu. Gods. And I'm excited to see the bears again this week. I'm picking them to win that game against Jacksonville because Jacksonville's defense stinks. But Jacksonville is desperate, and that does scare me a little bit.

00:34:12

Leads me right to the question Billy should be asking you every single week. Is Trevor Lawrence good?

00:34:17

Trevor Lawrence last week, he's on the way to Cantone.

00:34:24

That's where he's going.

00:34:26

He did play awesome last week. I'm not gonna. I did not watch the film, right. I kept my eye on it on Sunday.

00:34:32

Right?

00:34:32

He made well all the things that complained about the other weeks where we went, like, guys open, you gotta hit it. And, hey, you're $55 million a year. You gotta make a few plays that are like, hey, nothing's there, but it still works. Right? Like the great ones do. Like, Mahomes or Allen or Burrow do so much of the time. Or Lamar, like, oh, the defense won, but they didn't win. We still got 20 yards because I'm fucking awesome at quarterback, right? And that's what we saw a little. There were some plays last week and some throws that were unreal and eye popping. And to me, the other thing, too, is feed the ball to Brian Thomas junior all day long.

00:35:08

They should.

00:35:09

The offense should be all around him. And I'll say it again, for, like, the fourth week in a row, Tank Bigsby is their best running back. Yes, it's, it's not close. And they need to keep, keep giving him the ball as well.

00:35:21

He should be their number one running back, Chris.

00:35:23

I think, I think he will be. And they might start ATN and go, oh, yeah, you're the starter. And then, like, the fourth play of the game, they bring in Big Bigby. But I do think last week was a little inkling of them showing. Like, I think Bigsby's the guy, and we're going to start to infuse him in the offense more and more.

00:35:38

Chris, we're impressed with Caleb or impressed with Jaden. How could you not be? This has a chance to be one of the best rookie quarterback classes of all time, if not the best. And I say that we haven't brought up Bo Nicks, who continues to get better every goddamn week. He's good, Chris.

00:35:56

He is good. Listen, and this is why I think you guys heard me before the year, and I was excited about this crop of quarterbacks, and I think even if JJ McCarthy was the quarterback of the Vikings, he'd be doing good things, too. I'm not saying they'd be five and, oh, like Sam darling that, but he'd be doing, we'd be going, damn, for a rookie, this looks good, right? Because these four guys can play quarterback. They weren't just like, always got a strong arm or, oh, he's just really fast. And we'll see if we can work on all the other stuff. This is like, these are guys that had all those attributes, and you were like, man, they're good decision makers. They got a lot of different throws that they can, you know, access in their, in their, in their bag of clubs. They work the pocket the right way. And Bo Nicks, yeah, it's not pretty, but the big thing is he doesn't make mistakes. He usually completes what's there to be had. He makes a little bit of a splash. Wow. Play from time to time. They're not as good on offense as the Bears or the Washington commanders, but he's playing the position the right way, and then they're playing through their defense.

00:36:57

But, yeah, Bo Nix is good, and it will continue to get better. And it might not show itself to great statistics this year, but as the future goes on and they get better players around him, I have no doubt that he's going to be surgical as a quarterback.

00:37:10

You have the Bengals and Giants on Sunday night, you can't go to the game. You can't hang out with the people like you, like you like to in the 400. Cause you gotta work that night. Right. But I am wondering, Daniel Jones seems to be playing better. Like, he's, he's playing better, Chris.

00:37:25

No, I mean, Daniel Jones is, he's been solid all year for the most part. I know he threw an interception on a screen pass against the Vikings early in the year, and then he threw a, the game was over and it was 28 to six and he threw a late interception in that game. But for the most part, you can't sit there and look at the Giants and just go, oh, Daniel Jones is the problem, blah, blah, blah. Again, not a superstar. I get that, but kept them in the game of the Cowboys. Yeah, we would like to see him make a few throws and get them over the hump. Right. But, but, yeah, it's been positive and I think they're finding their way as an offense. You know, I hope neighbors is back this week because if neighbors is back, I think this game will be a lot of fun. I think it's going to be fun no matter what because Cincinnati's defense stinks. And I do think Daniel Jones is throwing the ball well. And I think the Giants have enough weapons on that side of the ball that they can stress out that Bengals defense, and that can be a fun game.

00:38:19

So, yeah, it's been solid. It is. Now I'm going to pick the Bengals to win the game, but I don't feel good about it. I wouldn't bet on it because of that bangles defense. They scare me.

00:38:28

Right.

00:38:28

But, like, what I do want to say is this, right? Darius Slayton, Malik, neighbors, that's a pretty damn good two, like, home run hitters. That'll be fun to watch. But, man, on the other side of the ball, then there's, there's no cave on Thibodeaux and the Giants secondary is not good. And if Joe Burrow and company had a better record, he would be the MVP of football right now. Joe Burrow, no doubt. I mean, decisions and dot after Dot after Dot throwing the football the last few weeks has been incredible. I think that'll continue. I think they outscored the Giants. And let me just say this, too. Jamar Chase is definitely the best receiver in football this year to this point. I think so. I think he has separated himself and even I would say he's better than Justin, Justin Jefferson right now, which I know there's a good, friendly rivalry there.

00:39:17

Barrow has to be so frustrated by this defense. They were in the Kansas City game. They should have won that game. They've been in every game they played this year. Yes.

00:39:24

Right.

00:39:24

I'll throw New England out, but Barrow has to be frustrated. Chris, I said earlier this week on the show, I still think the Bengals are going to make the playoffs. In fact, I think the Bengals are going to reel off the next four. They'll be five and four before the next time they play Baltimore. Do you agree?

00:39:40

I'm not giving up on them totally as the playoffs yet. I guess I have enough faith that I think there's enough talent and the coach is good enough on the defensive side of the ball that they can become formidable on defense. There's going to be a lot of pressure on their offense to carry the squad. But yeah, the next few weeks, I hear you there. When you talk about, yeah, giants this week, the Browns, which are a dumpster.

00:40:03

Fire, home with the Eagles.

00:40:05

Home with the Eagles, which, you know, it'll be a good game, probably a coin toss game, but then the Raiders the next week after that, definitely some winnable games. But it is going to take, it's going to take Joe Burrow being on fire. And I think even against some of those poor teams, they're going to still have to score some, you know, pretty high scores there to win those football games.

00:40:24

But you're so right. He would be the MVP. In fact, I'm not certain he's not the MVP, but.

00:40:29

Well, I know you, right. You look at his stats, the record, the record hurts, of course, but yeah, twelve touchdowns, two interceptions, right. I mean, he's what, six in the league and passing yards. His completion percentage is, I'm sure right up there with anybody at the top of the sport. He's been playing damn good football. I mean, come on, he's Joe freaking Burrow. And to me, as I told you, Mahomes, Allen Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and I would probably say CJ Stroud, I think are in a little bit of a class of their own right now with Mahomes being in his own class.

00:41:02

But if the Bengals played Kansas City, this is how you measure it. All right. If the Bengals played Kansas City, I'm not certain who I take in that game.

00:41:08

Like, I hear you, they match up with the Chiefs.

00:41:12

They do.

00:41:12

They do. There's no doubt about that. Yeah, we'll see. That hurt them last week. They blew that one. They had chances to win that, control the game and, and get away with the victory and didn't pull it off and that definitely, that definitely hurt.

00:41:25

We'll get you out here in just a second here. I want to get your thoughts on the jets and bills. Do the jets have a chance in this game?

00:41:31

Definitely. 100% they have a chance. The bills offense stinks. It's everything we always talk about. Again, it's one guy. Now, he didn't play good last week, and I'll clearly state that I talked that about that on my podcast on Wednesday. Allen, in the first half of the game was not good decisions. Miss some throws you expect him to make and got off reads too quick. Like he expected the like, oh, he'll be covered here against his defense or I'm not going to have enough time to wait for him. Let me move and get out of the pocket. And it was like, no, no, he's wide open and you got off him too quick. I don't know why. So he didn't play his best. But like, when I think about the Bills and then the jets defense, who I think is awesome, I just go, I don't see how they're going to move the ball consistently and he's not going to be able to make magic plays. Like just like last week, they're too fast to up front the Texans and the end the jets to where when he scrambles, he's not going to be able to buy the time that we see him by against Jacksonville or some of the other teams where he's unstoppable.

00:42:31

So I do do look at that. If the Bills, I think the best thing about the Bills other than the Josh Allen is their offensive line, I honestly want to kind of say to them, like what I've said to the Baltimore Ravens, become a great running team. Get teams to bend to your running game so much to where now you start to get some favorable matchups and you can access the pass game and be explosive. Right? That's what the Ravens did. Great running game, great running in, great running game. Bangles are like, oh, it's a great running game. We got to go all in. And I called it last week. I said it would be the week. Lamar Jackson throws for 350. I think that's what the Bills have to do to maximize what they are. And then their defense again, solid but not great. I take the jets to win the game. I'm going to take the jets because of that defense. And I think there might be a little bit of a boost or a rallying cry with a team. I'm going to take them to win 20 to 17, 1st place Mikey.

00:43:25

Simms. Did Allen get concussed last week?

00:43:28

Yes, probably.

00:43:30

He went down hard and. And looked like he was out. And I feel like we haven't heard anything about it.

00:43:36

No, well, of course not, because, like, you know, a smart player or somebody like myself, when you bang your head on the ground, you go out. My ankle hurts. Right. Even though you're seeing three, because you don't want to, like, have concussion protocol and, you know. Can you tell me four plus four? Oh, you didn't answer it quick enough. I think you got to keep you in there for another week, right? So, no. No real football players ever going to tell the truth about their head. None. None. And that's me included. And I'm not mad at them for it either. That's just the way it is. Guys like Josh, Allen, Mahomes, whatever, like, unless they're staggering and stumbling, like, they're not going to keep them out of the game. They love the sport too much. They're grown menta. They know how important they are to the team and they're going to lie to the doctors every time. I know, and that's what he did, and I would do the same.

00:44:19

But I think what people are questioning is the protocol. There's supposed to be a doctor on there. Nothing to do with the team that won't let him go back into the game because he knows he's concussed.

00:44:28

Well, yeah. And again, you know, I don't. You know, the definition of concuss has changed a little bit, too. I mean, you know, 25 years ago, it just, when we call it a concussion now, a guy would just been like, man, I got hit hard in the head. I got my bell rung. Right? But, I mean, that's so what? That happens seven times a game. I'm going to keep playing. I mean, so we become a little more sensitive there. And just because you hit your head to the ground and maybe now there's technically a. I don't know, a concussion. Again, like, if he's answering all questions right, and he knows everything, right on the. On the dot, knows where he is and he's answering like, what are you going to say? Well, he hit his head hard. So just, we got to say it's a concussion. I don't know. We've seen some boxers can take a right hook in a roundhouse a little better than others. They can. They can take that and still function. My head is half cement. I can take a shot to the head and be like, what? I. Maybe I think more clearly now, I don't know.

00:45:22

That's just the way we're wired. And don't think that the human element of the doctor, who knows, like, whoa, this is the most important team player to the franchise. And everybody's asking me, is he okay? Is he okay? Is he okay? He's okay, right? He's okay. Don't think that they don't fall into the trap of that personal moment as well. And I think that happens here.

00:45:39

That that is kind of what it looked like, right? Cause it looked like he got knocked out, and then they ran over, they gave him smelling salts, and like, your name's Josh Allen, right?

00:45:45

Not.

00:45:45

And then someone, like, had their hand on his head and like, yes. And they're like, okay, right back out there, Josh, you're good to go.

00:45:50

This is a sims, though. Did you expect any different answer than what we just got? I mean, he's Phil's son.

00:45:56

Exactly. Exactly. I'm a Jersey Meathead who's born from a Kentucky meathead that grew up on a farm. So, yeah, I. And, you know, my. My mom's a daughter of a butcher, and, you know, sure. Family's full of jersey meatheadedness. And, yeah, that's just. Again, I think a lot of the old school football players think that way. And, you know, especially the quarterbacks who are fully invested, don't want to ever come out and know what they are to their teams. It's going to be hard to pin them to some of these concussions at times, unless it's just. Just blatantly obvious.

00:46:29

Gerald McCoy, who played at Oklahoma, said Texas has not played anyone yet. They haven't been challenged yet. They're going to play someone this weekend. That is Oklahoma. Your thoughts?

00:46:37

Well, I. You know, I don't know if I. You know, I don't totally disagree with what they're saying there. I mean, Michigan, of course, is a top, what, 15 top 20 team now? Yeah, but. But, yeah, not. Not a team that I really felt like could match up with Texas and threaten them. This is probably our first real test, so we'll see where it goes. You know, Oklahoma is a team that, for whatever reason, has Texas number. Going back to my days, they're kind of, like, in our heads. I think the rivalry is like, they look at themselves as, like, the little brother, even though I'm like, wait, you've won way more national championships, and, like, they'll be in a big game and, like, Texas is nowhere involved in the national scene. They'll still be doing horns down. You'd be like, you're in the national championship. We're like the 70th ranked team in football, and you're still thinking about us. Like, stop. But, yeah, it means a lot to them. But I think we'll be ready. I will. And then, of course, we better be ready. Cause we got Georgia next week.

00:47:36

Yep. Yes. This will get you ready for Georgia.

00:47:38

That's exactly. Yes, exactly right.

00:47:40

We'll get you properly ready. Met Yankees will listen if they make the World Series, me, you, Mikey. Mikey a. We go to a game together. One game. Just one game. Me, you, Mikey.

00:47:49

I would love. I would love that.

00:47:50

Okay.

00:47:51

I would love that.

00:47:51

All right. You want Billy there? What do you think? I mean.

00:47:58

Tailgate?

00:47:59

I'm surprised Mikey. I didn't know Mikey was the Yankees fan. I guess I did only know that some Mets fans usually go together.

00:48:06

Correct. Yes.

00:48:07

No, I'm a Boston hater. I hate Boston. As opposed to jump to leaks.

00:48:11

Yeah.

00:48:12

Okay. Yeah, I got you.

00:48:13

Yeah.

00:48:13

So that that drove you towards the Yankees fandom. Okay, I hear that. I don't. I don't hate the Mets. Right. I'm not one of these New Yorkers that's like a Yankees fan.

00:48:22

Yeah, we don't care. Right.

00:48:24

I enjoyed watching the game last night. I'd been watching.

00:48:27

Right.

00:48:27

I love watching the New York Mets fans go crazy.

00:48:30

Right.

00:48:30

You know, they go through their. Good for you.

00:48:33

Yes.

00:48:34

I will say, though, he's right. I'm scared of the Met series. I'm scared of the Met. I want to be like, come on, Padres. At least if we have an excuse, if we lose to them, I don't want to hear us losing to the Mets and hear from my menta, all that. Yeah.

00:48:53

You will have no excuse, by the way, if you lose to the Padres.

00:48:57

I know that's going to be a good one there. Padres, Dodgers, see who wins that one. I'm rooting for the Padres just because I'm sick of the Dodgers. And the Padres are fun to watch. They really are.

00:49:07

They really are.

00:49:08

I'd love to see them in the World Series. I would.

00:49:09

All right. It's a date. If it's a subway series, me, you, mikey a and billy go to one game together. All right?

00:49:15

Okay. Make it happen.

00:49:17

I ain't sitting in the 400 level, so.

00:49:21

Don'T worry.

00:49:22

I'll get.

00:49:22

If we do this, get the tickets. I don't sit when I go to the Yankees game. I am Bougie, spoiled mother. That's what I am. If I'm not the first six or seven rows, I'm not going to the game.

00:49:35

Yes. Let's be Bougie spoiled motherf ers together.

00:49:39

I'm a man of the people in the legend seats.

00:49:44

The end of the rich people.

00:49:46

Exactly.

00:49:47

BFT with Mike Florio on Peacock, the unbound podcast football night in America. They have the bagels and Giants coming up this weekend. It's the best part of our week. Thank you, Chris. We appreciate it.

00:49:58

Always. Guys.

00:50:00

It is time for this week's edition of Steve got presented by DraftKings sportsbook. Stay tuned because you'll hear more about draftkings and all it has to offer throughout the show. Draft Kings, the crown is yours. College football week seven, eight and five a week ago, 29 21 and one on the season. Here we go. Penn State at USC. Penn. Penn State. Pennis. Did I call him Penn? Penn State is a five point favorite. Yes, Billy, go ahead. What do you mean? I think I said Penn State.

00:50:31

Yeah, Penn State, their favorite.

00:50:33

Penn State is a five point favorite. They're taking on USC. USC coming off a loss. Penn State's going to lose a game. They might lose two this year, but it's not going to be this week. Penn State will win. They will cover. They will win by ten points on the road. Pitt, they're taking on Cal minus three by the two and a half. Pitt wins, they cover. Pitt wins by seven point. Illinois taking on Purdue. Illinois is -19 this is more a bet against Purdue than it is on Illinois. Why? Purdue might be the worst team in college football. Illinois wins, they cover. They win by 24 points at home. Georgia State minus one and a half taken on old Dominion University. I know a ton about both these teams. Georgia State wins, they cover. They win by six points at home. BYU minus five, taking on Arizona. Billy, you know what you don't do if you're a college football team? What? You don't go to Provo on a Saturday night. If you do, you get what you ask for, which is death. Well, that's a little bit hard, but you're going to lose the game.

00:51:35

BYU minus five ticket on Arizona. BYU, they win. They cover. BYU by ten points at home. The Gators taking on Tennessee. We all thought Tennessee was a lot better than they are. They're not that good. Florida, they're sneaky good. I'm telling you right now, they have found something there with their quarterback situation. Tennessee wins the game. The Gators cover Tennessee by three points at home. Ohio State, Oregon. Battle of undefeated teams. Ohio State is minus three on the road. Buy it down to two and a half. Ohio State wins. They cover. They win by ten points on the road. LSU plus three and a half taking on Mississippi. Buy it up to four. LSU is going to win the game outright, which defeats the purpose of buying up the point. But do it anyway because I told you to and I'm hot. LSU wins the game outright. They win by a field goal. Iowa State sneaky. Good team. Undefeated. They're at West Virginia. It's a three point favorite. Buy it down to two and a half. Iowa state wins. They cover Iowa State by eight points on the road. And finally Colorado plus four ticket on Kansas State Colorado wins they win the game outright.

00:52:44

They cover the spread. Colorado by three points. NFL week five, six and o a week ago 20 216 and one on the season. Bears minus two taken on the Jaguars the Bears win and cover. They win by ten points Texans minus seven at Patriots buy it down to six and a half. Texans win and cover. They win by 14 points. Packers minus five over the cards. Pac win by ten Steelers at Raiders Steelers by seven over the Raiders buy it down to two and a half. Broncos plus three taking on the Chargers. Broncos win the game outright. They win by seven points, they cover the spread. Bengals over the Giants minus three. Bengals win by ten and the Bills beat the jets and cover the spread of the Bills win by ten points in New York. Those are the picks, everyone. Good luck.

00:53:33

00:54:48

Mike, thank you for returning. I gotta be honest. When you showed up week one, which was two weeks ago for us, I did not plan on having you back for back to back consecutive weeks. I thought you'd get sick of us. Usually people do. Thank you for sticking with us, though. We appreciate it.

00:55:03

This is the highlight of my week, man. I'm just like waiting on when the time's coming in that we're going to do this right.

00:55:09

I mean, your highlights and Gordy's highlights are a little bit different. Kay. Fuck. Do you survive the storm? Okay, I did.

00:55:17

I'm in Orlando. I came to Orlando. I have not been home yet, but I'm fine here in Orlando. As of right now. Yes.

00:55:24

All right. And mojo, thank you as always for being shirtless.

00:55:28

It's the gimmick this season.

00:55:29

Did you just give me finger guns? Is that what you did?

00:55:32

Singular. Finger gun.

00:55:33

A singular one.

00:55:34

That's a 15 yard penalty this year.

00:55:37

Yes, it is. It's a 15 yard. It's a personal foul. That's why I'm here, man.

00:55:41

Alley oops for talking points.

00:55:44

All right, Carl Douglas is not here. I understand. And Mikey has a question for Gordy that we'll get to in a second. But I understand, Billy, that Gordy had a horrific week. Is that accurate?

00:55:56

Yeah. So last week Gordy went zero five, which I think was the first time that happened this season. On the other side, Carl went four and one, which was a great week for Carl.

00:56:08

So he won the week and he's not here.

00:56:10

Yeah, he won the week. He's not here. Yeah, that's what he likes to do. I mean, he wins everything in between.

00:56:15

How'd the rest of it go?

00:56:16

Yeah, so Mike had another rough week at one and 4k. Funk had a two and three week share. Bear had a two and three week and Mojo had a three and two week. So I've also updated the standings if you would like to get those.

00:56:30

We might as well because we haven't discussed this all season. I feel like.

00:56:34

All right, so Chris Humphrey's a detective. Mat have a 600 win percentage. Carl has a 575 win percentage. Mojo and K Funk are tied at a 440 win percentage right now, which is interesting. Chair Bear and Cheyenne have a 400 win percentage. Gordy right now is a 360 win percentage after a terrible week. And Mike has a 300 win percentage.

00:56:57

So we're not including those first three where I went 15.

00:57:00

Oh, you know what? Let me adjust that. You're right. You were 15 and seven. So I'll have a new, a new record for you shortly.

00:57:07

All right. Yeah.

00:57:08

I don't even know what weeks we've counted at this point. I'm just saying we're all over the.

00:57:12

It should be week two. NFL week two to now is what it should be.

00:57:17

Yeah, well, I mean, Gordy thinks it's Tuesday, so. Gordy, Mikey does have a question for you. He asked me before we came on air here. I think it's a fair question that needs to be asked. Mikey, I.

00:57:28

Go ahead, Gordy, who, which Broncoski had a worse week? Was it you going over five or was it your brother Rob with how he was portrayed on that FX show? Because that was absolutely hysterical. Did you write that? Were you involved in the planning process there?

00:57:45

The one thing was, I definitely wasn't involved in the planning process. I would have probably done even worse job. But that character of him. Come on. That was absolutely epic, though.

00:57:58

Get hype. I would like, I would like to comment on this because I have some breaking information related to this clip.

00:58:07

Really? Wow. Okay.

00:58:09

For this, you're talking about the Hernandez television show.

00:58:13

Yes. Yes.

00:58:14

The man who plays Roberto Rockolowski's on the show is actually my cousin.

00:58:24

Really? Wow.

00:58:26

Well, that famous actor, how come they couldn't get you to play Rob?

00:58:30

Yeah.

00:58:32

Better actor than him.

00:58:33

That's why I have, like, an intelligence level that does allow me to go down to play this character.

00:58:42

See, that's setting him up.

00:58:46

Mojo, don't you have a cousin that was like the face of depends or something?

00:58:49

That's down.

00:58:50

Same guy. He's the, he's the face of the high noon. High noon brand. He's Todd Powers, the high noon lifestyle guard.

00:58:58

Right.

00:58:59

In a ton of movies and shows. I mean, this is, this is the guy. And hey, man, he, he went viral yesterday. People loved him as Rob. They thought it was great.

00:59:08

Get him on the pod. All right.

00:59:10

Let's go right now to see if he's free.

00:59:12

All right. I mean, he can come on next week. That's fine. But just make sure he's on next week, okay? I mean, that's.

00:59:17

Who knows if it's still going to be hot by next week. We got a strike.

00:59:22

You are right. That's Mojo. That's why I love you, man. You get this, guys. Are you ready for the games? We're going to get right to them as, as Mojo efforts to get his cousin on. We're going to get to the games. We have Carl's fix, who was not here. He wins, he doesn't show up. Up. So we're going to go to Bills at Jets first Monday night game. Jets are two and a half point favorites at home. They fired their coach. The Bills coming off a bad loss. Mojo. I am going to start with you here. Bills at Jets Monday night football. Jets plus two and a half. Who you take it.

00:59:52

Oh, we're taking the bills, baby.

00:59:56

All right.

00:59:56

Taking the jets after that? No way, dude.

00:59:59

They're screwed now, okay? Kay, fuck who you take it. He's taking the Jets. Kay fucking the Jets. I know K fuck is taking the Jetse.

01:00:06

I want you so bad, man.

01:00:08

I'm just.

01:00:09

You know me. I say this all the time. I hate betting against Josh Allen, but when something happens like this where they're talking mad about Aaron Rodgers, his coach gets fired. Everyone's on the bills. Give me the jets.

01:00:21

All right. Carl Douglas has taken the bills. Mike who? You take it in this game? Jets plus two and a half at home.

01:00:27

I got the same logic as k funk. I'm keeping it simple. Yeah, scary. Backs against the wall. They're coming out swinging.

01:00:33

Okay. I love when we go to Gordy, because when we turn it on, when he turns on his phone, what we hear is Vegas. And sadder sounds than Las Vegas. Gordy who?

01:00:47

I don't know. I've been writing the bills out, and there's something going on there right now. That chemistry hasn't been good recently. I'm going with the Jets. I know, it's crazy, right?

01:00:56

Gordy? Because their chemistry is so good. The jets.

01:01:03

What about chair bear and I? Tyler?

01:01:06

Share bear just said he loves Buffalo and he knows the Gronk brothers are from there, so he wants to go with the bills.

01:01:13

Okay, how much is share bear up or down right now? Can you tell us?

01:01:16

So when I got here, Brandon won 13 straight hands for over a thousand a hand. So he was up over 13,000. Brandon was that, I think. Lost all 13.

01:01:30

Like his pitch?

01:01:31

Yeah. Tell Brandon. Who's Brandon? Like, Tyler? Who does he want?

01:01:35

I have no idea. They're way over there yelling. So there's.

01:01:41

So they're yelling. Like, why are they yelling? What are they yelling about? Just because it's 930 in a casino in Vegas, I get.

01:01:46

Yeah, I guess Brandon keeps winning. He keeps saying too many. So I guess the dealer keeps busting.

01:01:56

Siler at your blackjack table. Winning hand after head screaming at you is a fantastic site, Gordon going to keep it right here. Okay, Bengals at Giants. Giants plus three and a half at home. Will you take it home?

01:02:09

Division, dog. Giants.

01:02:11

All right. Share bear.

01:02:15

I forgot. He gave me his pick. So we just make one up for him.

01:02:18

Yeah. Make. Yeah. Yes.

01:02:19

Yes.

01:02:19

I love this, Gordy. I love how tired you are.

01:02:22

I mean, you got to think that share Bear has what he's partied in New York City. You know, he went to Cincinnati before. He didn't really like it. The girls were in his face. He's got to go with the Giants, right?

01:02:33

Yes, yes. We all agree that he has to go with the Giants. Okay. All right. Turn off Vegas for a second. We'll come back to you on the next game. Go find those guys and make sure they're okay. Mojo, who you taking here? Bengals at Giants. Giants plus three and a half at home. Sunday Night Football.

01:02:51

Let's go, bungles. Who have let me down every single time I pick them this year, Oregon against them.

01:02:59

Joe Barrow is the best quarterback on a one in four team in the history of the NFL. Crazy. It's nuts. Mike, who? You take it here. Bengals. The Giants. Giants plus three and a half at home.

01:03:09

Yeah, they get.

01:03:09

They.

01:03:10

They're not going to one in five, are they? I got to go bangles.

01:03:13

All right, you're taking the Bengals. Carl Douglas, for what it's worth, is also taking the Bengals. Kay, Funko, you take it.

01:03:18

I'm with you on that. But the problem is the three and a half. I think that hook might come into play here. Yeah, give me, give me the giants. I'll take the giants. They're hot.

01:03:28

Really? Just because of the hook. I mean, Cincinnati needs the game.

01:03:31

Jones is due for a second.

01:03:33

I think the Bengals are going to win by a field.

01:03:35

Okay, big New York guy k funk is this week. I like it.

01:03:39

Yeah, really is boring New York. But how many beers have you drank already?

01:03:44

This is coke water. I will say this after two weeks of experimenting with hurricanes and being absolutely blacked out on the show.

01:03:53

Yeah.

01:03:54

And having a terrible record, I'm going back to my sober picks this week.

01:03:58

Okay, good. Well, I'm happy to hear that.

01:04:00

Show us what you're drinking real quick, k funk.

01:04:03

What am I looking at?

01:04:04

I was going to get to that later, but this is once upon a coconut. The best coconut water in the world. But we'll talk about that later.

01:04:10

It would appear that that is the best coconut water in the world. I can just tell by looking at it that that is absolutely the best. Once upon a coconut.

01:04:17

Definitely number one, Kenya mojo, huh? Just by looking at it, huh?

01:04:34

Gord, did you have to shout out from your Vegas hotel room last night? Too many.

01:04:40

They're so loud that I can't even hear what's going on over with you guys right now.

01:04:45

Hey, do me a favor, Gordon. Ask Siler if he likes the jets. Of the bill styler.

01:04:50

The jets are. The bills.

01:04:52

What?

01:04:57

Aaron Rogers. Yes, the bills. All right. Likes Bengals or Giants?

01:05:10

Bengals or Giants. All right, they're going.

01:05:18

Cincy, you gave him the Giants. No, no, no share. Bear has the Giants. We'll give silent the Bengals, okay?

01:05:26

They don't care.

01:05:31

Well said. True words have never been spoken on this show. Gordy, did they just, y'all so great. All right, so we have, you know.

01:05:48

The best part of that is that it's only them. There's no one else in that lobby.

01:05:53

It's just the three of them in a dealer.

01:05:55

I love how you ask them bangles and they yelled Pac man Jones. So I want to keep an eye on them tonight.

01:06:02

All right, commanders at Ravens, here we go. Ravens minus six and a half. Carl Douglas is taking the Baltimore Ravens. Man, good games this week. Lamar Jackson, Jaden Daniels, Kay Funka to start with you. Ravens minus six and a half at home.

01:06:17

I've given the commanders no respect this year at all. I even said I would never pick them on the show, so I can't pick them right now. So I'm going to take Baltimore.

01:06:28

All right. You're taking Baltimore. Mike, who you take it in this.

01:06:30

Game, man, this is tough one. That's a big spread. I was on the record last week that the commanders were one of the greatest offenses of all time. So I got to stick with that. I'll go commanders.

01:06:41

Okay. Raven's pretty good as well. Mojo, who you taking?

01:06:45

The battle of the Beltway, baby. The two hometown teams. And whereas it is a big spread, and I am the master of the spread, I've already said I will not be selecting the commanders at all this year, and I do not intend to break that this week. So Ravens.

01:07:03

All right, taking the Ravens. Let's go back to Las Vegas, Gordy. Ravens minus six and a half. They're taking on the commanders.

01:07:10

I'm just gonna make this easy. I'm going with the Ravens.

01:07:13

I don't know.

01:07:15

Hey, who do you guys want to go with.

01:07:20

Commanders?

01:07:21

A mojo Washington.

01:07:23

Washington guy. He's a Washington guy. Who's, who's Tyler taking?

01:07:31

The Ravens.

01:07:34

He said Ravens.

01:07:35

All right, silers taking the Ravens. Gordy, keep it out there. I'll get all three picks right now. Cardinals at packers. Packers minus five and a half. Let's start with you, Gordy. Who you take it?

01:07:45

I love Scottsdale guy, the Packer, Antonio Freeman.

01:07:52

Bubble at night. Scottsdale is the bomb that we'll take a Scott.

01:07:56

All right, Arizona with the point. Let's go. I'm going to Freeman bobblehead night.

01:08:01

Okay. All right, good. Gordy, who are you taking?

01:08:04

I'm just going to keep it simple. I'm going with Arizona.

01:08:07

Okay, you take it. Arizona. You love Scottsdale as well. Mike, going to you here. Your brother is the defensive coordinator for this team. This is so great. I can watch this all day. Gordon, is that Syler's up like 50.

01:08:21

Grand and it's just empty in there.

01:08:23

It is so empty.

01:08:24

Yes, Billy, it's like nine in the morning.

01:08:27

Gordy's hammered Cardinals at Packers back. So Mike, your brother is the defensive coordinator for the Cardinals. They had a big win last week against San Francisco and now they follow it up with the game in Green Bay. So who you take it here?

01:08:40

Yeah, man, that was so when my, when I make a bunch of noise in the kitchen, like when I'm making my coffee and I have the tv on, the volume automatically turns up. And when we, the Cardinals intercepted that pass to end the game, my tv blew up to like the loudest volume it's ever been to. And it was like, it was the most explicit rant I've ever gone on. There were so many mother, it didn't even make sense what I said. I was so hyped last week. That was such a big win and all that to say, obviously I'm on the cards.

01:09:14

This. Yeah, you have to. You can't pick against your brother.

01:09:17

I can't.

01:09:17

It's illegal. Right. And they're getting hot right now. Mojo, who? You take it here.

01:09:21

I'm taking all of Rollis's hype and throwing it on the other side of the fence. The battle of my two former teams. One of my favorite matchups all year, if we can get it. Go, pack, go.

01:09:37

All right, did we get k funk? A funk? Have you selected this game yet?

01:09:41

I have not. And this is, I call this the battle of the mush because mojo played for both teams. But anyway, if it was a whole, I was taking a whole team.

01:09:50

Hold on, pause, rewind. Like, if you're gonna make a joke or an, just be quiet for 1 second, lay out for 15 seconds here and just think of a better insult and then try it again and maybe we'll edit it.

01:10:17

You know, I love emojo, but if I would just take the home, if this was in Arizona, I'd take Arizona. Give me the packers.

01:10:23

All right. Killing me, man. All right, lie to cowboys. I'm going to go to UK funk. First year cowboys. Wow. Great. What do I. What about what? The spread yet? Where's Siler going? Gordy, where'd you go?

01:10:43

He's tipping everyone out. He wants so much money.

01:10:46

How much? Find out exactly.

01:10:48

Tipping every table out because he's up so much.

01:10:51

Every stable.

01:10:52

Wait, he is giving dealers a tip that haven't dealt a hand to him yet. Hey, tell them to ask one of the dealers.

01:11:13

Gordy.

01:11:20

That was amazing.

01:11:21

How much money did he win?

01:11:23

Wow.

01:11:24

He just tipped every single dealer in the casino.

01:11:27

How much money do you think he won, Gordy?

01:11:29

All two of them.

01:11:32

Wow. I asked him to ask the dealer who they like in the Lions Cowboys game. Cowboys plus three.

01:11:38

What do you like in that Lions Cowboys game?

01:11:40

Cowboys. I played the Jared Jones Stadium. They put that little shield up because I was drinking on the way to the field. Let's go with the Cowboys.

01:11:49

They gonna be drunk out there.

01:11:50

All right, ask the dealer who she likes. Siler.

01:11:54

Cowboys.

01:11:55

All right. And Gordy, tell her she's back next week. Okay? The dealer. This is so good, Gordy.

01:12:10

Who?

01:12:11

You take it here.

01:12:12

I'm rolling with the cowboys. With Chris Gronk, baby. He started the gronk spike with Tony Romo. That's the creator right there. First touchdown ever. Chris Gronk, Dale's Cowboys. Let's go.

01:12:22

He's also the scrawniest and most embarrassing gronk, too. Ask him how many. I didn't hear what he said.

01:12:39

He said too many. But mojo, go ahead, ask questions of Gordy. I like this. Go ahead.

01:12:43

Hey, Gord, since here's something we don't do on this show anymore, since we came back this season, we haven't had story time in a long time. That used to be the best part of this segment. That was the defining part of this segment. Now, I don't know what stories we can tell about the old days. We'll have to approve those later. But you're there now, and you have new stories for us. So you got any stories for the show?

01:13:10

I mean, I think we're creating stories as we're speaking. I think you can kind of see what's already happening at 09:00 a.m. gotta keep working.

01:13:33

Wait, they're back in?

01:13:35

Oh, yeah. They're playing. They're not going to stop. They're never going to stop. All right, Gordy, listen. I love you. Get some sleep. Figure out what day it is. Tell Siler thank you for the entertainment.

01:13:53

Shout out to the encore casino right here in Las Vegas. Thank you.

01:14:04

Yes. All right, we will be careful. Be safe. We'll talk to you next week. Tell the dealer she's back next week, okay? And I'm serious. And I'm serious. Okay. Get her number, Gordon. Oh, God, I'm concerned for them. K fuck who? You take it here, Lions. I rudely interrupted k fuck seven minutes ago to go out. Vegas Cowboys are plus three at Olympic.

01:14:29

Interrupt people all the time on this show. It's all good. I. I like cowboys, but, I mean, everyone else takes them, so is taking them. So I'm probably gonna get screwed on this, but give me the Cowboys. I think they're due for a better performance.

01:14:41

Okay, Mike, who you taking here? What?

01:14:45

What's the points?

01:14:46

So it's Cowboys plus three at home taking on the Lions.

01:14:49

That is nothing. Too many points. I'm going with the Lions off of a buy.

01:14:55

Okay, I like that. I think the Lions might be the best team in the NFL. Mojo, who you take it?

01:14:59

Well, funk says the Cowboys are due for a good week. I think he's also due for just an average week. Would be. Would be good because he's been so awful here on God bless football, but him endorsing the cowboys is enough for me to take the lions and just leave it at that.

01:15:17

All right? Kay. Fuck. Anything you want to promote or say on the way out here, I do.

01:15:21

I want to give a shout out to my good friend John Sharando, owner of Coconut Water. Once upon a coconut. Best coconut water around. Mojo can attest to that, along with a lot of other athletes that endorse it. You can go to any sprouts in the country and get them any heb in Texas or online.

01:15:40

All right, all right. Well done, Mojo. Well done, K. Fuck, I just called them.

01:15:44

No, I'll jump in right there. I also.

01:15:46

I was gonna give Mike a chance to go before we have to close it out with you, Mojo.

01:15:49

We know.

01:15:50

That's okay. We're going in right now because I also would like to shout out John Ciarando, who likes me way better than he likes k Funk. And once upon a coconut with the even bigger bottle, then K Funk is holding. This is the milk jug right here. And this is 100% all natural. No preservatives, no added sugars, no crap. 100% coconut water. Guaranteed the best on the market. But they also make a watermelon, a blueberry, a pineapple. You saw the chocolate others. There's two ingredients, coconut water and actual fruit juice. So the best product on the market, check it out. Mine is bigger than k funks.

01:16:40

Mojo, real quick, who introduced you to John. Just curious.

01:16:45

I've known John for years. We go back, right?

01:16:47

Yeah, yeah.

01:16:48

We actually united off of how much we enjoy making fun of you.

01:16:52

Yes. Listen, Mojo was just pretending when you introduced him. Mojo was pretending to just meet him. He, you know, like, just to make you feel good. Yeah.

01:17:00

I mean, this product's got to be that good if it's gotten k funk off of alcohol. Like, let's look at it from that perspective.

01:17:08

That's a good thing. Yes, it is. But not Gordy. Let's go. Mike. Mike. Anything to promote on the way out here?

01:17:16

Yeah, I just wanted to. You probably haven't heard of this, but I got a whole box of.

01:17:24

Once.

01:17:29

It's an entire box.

01:17:30

Yours is bigger than Mojo's variety pack.

01:17:34

I got multiple flavors.

01:17:36

I got it all here.

01:17:37

And this.

01:17:37

Look at me.

01:17:38

Look.

01:17:38

Look at this box. This is just one of several boxes.

01:17:40

Dude.

01:17:41

This stuff is real.

01:17:42

Mojo, if you're going to show all your cases, I'll go over to the. To the fortress back here.

01:17:47

Yeah, let's. Let's all just dump them out on the table, boys. Let's see who wins, because I'm pretty sure y'all got nothing on this right here.

01:17:57

Whoa.

01:17:57

It's organized, too.

01:17:59

There's stuff behind here. These go all the way down, pal. We got the regular pineapple watermelon. Here's your chocolate, the blueberry, and even the sparkling one. We got them all, baby.

01:18:18

Oh, yeah. You're the biggest. No question about it. You are the biggest. I will never question your size again.

01:18:26

I'm too lazy to walk half a mile down to John's, like, 72 garages and show the pallet that we have down there.

01:18:32

But. All right, all right, all right. Well, yes, thank you for being lazy, because we don't have time for that. Okay, guys, we love you. Kay funk, I'm glad you're safe. Mike, thank you for coming back and continuing to come back. And I don't know where Tyler is, but he made the show today. So thank you to him, wherever he is, which is at a blackjack table in Vegas. Thank you, gentlemen. We will talk to you next week. By the way, Carl Douglas, in that last game, just so we have it all written down, is taking the lion. All right. God bless football, boys. God bless football, boys.
