00:03:06

Hey.

00:03:13

Welcome to Part of My Take presented by DraftKings. The crown is yours. Today is Monday, October 12th. Week 5.

00:03:41

What?

00:03:42

What?

00:03:43

What?

00:03:45

They're not gonna get him.

00:03:48

Let me be the first to wish everybody out there a very happy Locktober.

00:03:54

Locktober. And we start in London with Max and the Philadelphia Eagles.

00:04:01

We head across the pond where a beat-up Eagles roster had Jalen saying I'm really hurt. Do you think you could get me some help? And the only response he got was, you sound like you're in London. It was all Jags in the first quarter as Parker George Washington was mossing the Delaware County en route to an early lead. But then the Eagles started feasting on both sides of the ball with a healthy portion of Fish and Wicks with a side of Jalen Tartar Sauce to get the Eagles back in the game. Then to top it off, Darius, Swoooooop! Smoked the Jags defense to give the Birds the lead going into half. In the second half, Trevor Jennifer Lawrence was catching fire with Liam Coan's silver shining playbook and was able to give the Jags the lead late in the 4th quarter. But after Britton Covey's bloody good punt return, Jake Not So Smelliot hit the game-winning field goal with 8 seconds left. Just kidding. Big stupid kick. Sirianni decided to keep the ball in play, allowing the Jags to get into field goal range and win the fucking game. 8 seconds left, no timeouts. 8 seconds left, no timeouts.

00:05:10

8 seconds left, no timeouts.

00:05:12

Eagles lose.

00:05:13

Fuck me.

00:05:14

Thanks, Max. To Green Bay, where the Packers look to raise the floor of their season and get off the mat against the Bears after a playoff loss last year. And get off the mat they did. As they went Bombs Over Baghdad— the actual war, not the OutKast song— on the Bears secondary. As the Packer faithful said, they like it, they Jordan love it, they want some more of it. Speaking of war, Tyson Bagent Orange burnt my eyes out as he struggled to move the ball down the field all Sunday long. Beating the Bears today was elementary, my dear Christian Watson, as the wide receiver scored twice and the Bears became a pelt on his wall. Packers 31, Bears 7. Woof woof woof woof woof!

00:05:56

We go to Miami as Malik Willis Tower's season is up in the air with about 100 stories of why it looks like he's so high. But today it was a throwback as he put the Bengals in the searing sun. Killer Mike Gesicki tried to run the Jules Edelman routes for touchdowns, and everyone was watching and getting secondhand embarrassment When they saw Thrift Shop Robinson pop some flags, trying to keep Cincinnati Joe in the pocket.

00:06:24

Uh, uh, I'm running.

00:06:25

Oops, I might be fumbling. This is fucking awesome. But the Bengals have former Giant Tanner Miracle on the Hudson, who isn't looking for Newark anymore after flying out of NYC a while back. And now he's looking forward to colliding with the Ravens next week.

00:06:43

fresh off a nice smooth touchdown.

00:06:46

Joe Burrow has taken the franchise run by Dalton and elevated it as the expectations are no longer to get bounced in the first round. Bengals 31, Dolphins 24.

00:06:57

We now head to Foxborough where Hank was there for the Patriots and Raiders.

00:07:02

In Foxborough, DeMario Pop Smoke Douglas said Raiders, welcome to the party. I had Drake Maye up there to go ride in the Rari-Ra after catching a 35-yard dot for a touchdown. Rocket Power Bowers caught a party wave touchdown from Kirk Woogity Woogity Woogity Woogity Cousins to tie the score at 7. Rhamondre George-Stevenson rocketed into the end zone, followed up by Hunter Henry Lockwood scoring a touchdown of his own and dapping up the entire team on the sideline afterwards. In the 3rd quarter, Kyle Robin Williams told the Raiders defense, it's not your fault, it's not your fault, as he scampered by them on the way to the end zone. And Drake Frey said, Where did I go wrong? I scored again. Suck on that, Glenn Tate. Watch you, stupid man. Let's cut over to the Commanders game. Oh no, Jayden, the clock Is still running. Patriots win 45-17.

00:08:06

Thanks, Hank. We go to the Meadowlands, a soggy Meadowlands with memes.

00:08:11

In soggy MetLife, the Jets started off quick as Garrett Clark Wilson was running towards the end zone like a woman touched his driver to give the Jets a 7-0 lead. David Wallace Bailey reinvented himself, sacking Deshaun Watson 3 times and telling him to suck it. Take out your suck it while you suck it. Deshaun Watson was shipping up to Denzel Boston to give the Browns a lead late in the 4th, but Corey Feldman-Borquez had the fat kid from Stand By Me snapping him the ball and sailing it over his head to set the Jets up in field goal range. Jets headed up to Braylon Allen town for the go-ahead touchdown late. The Jets D smelled blood, and if it bleeds, we can kill it, as they defeated the Predator and told the Browns to go get to the chopper back to Cleveland. Jets 17, Browns 12.

00:08:53

Thanks, Memes. In Pittsburgh, where I feel bad for whoever drank the Kool-Aid on the Indianapolis Colts Colts and Daniel Jim Jones. But you have to know by now he's not playing like a Guyana $80 million contract. Kicker Princess Diana Spencer Schrader had tunnel vision going 5 for 5, and Tyler Tony Warren was near perfect. But there was no funny business today for the Steelers, and Aaron Rodgers Klotz dug deep throwing to Patty Mayonnaise Friermuth, who easily beats defenders for 2 scores. The real superstar of the day though was Ray Jalen Warren, who must have watched the tape because there wasn't a hole he was missing. He was easily averaging about 6.5 soft and finished at the end of the day with 188 total yards and 2 scores. Steelers 34, Colts 22. Down to New Orleans with Zach.

00:09:47

In New Orleans, Kendre Miller-Highlife reminds everyone why he's considered the champagne of running backs with a keg stand-sized rush into the end zone. pouring on some points early for the Saints. Shortly after, Kyler Chad Michael Murray lets the Saints defense know he don't want to be anything other than what he's been trying to be lately.

00:10:06

All I ever do is throw passes to receivers of mine, and it's caught by Justin Long Jefferson, who dodges, ducks, and dives through defenders like they were a bunch of wrenches for a touchdown.

00:10:16

In your—

00:10:17

Out of nowhere, Miles Teller Price floats his F/A-18 Super Hornet 6 yards before pressing the big red eject button. And the ball is out. Giannis Antetokounmpo babbles the recovery. Él está corriendo, él está corriendo a la casa.

00:10:30

And it's 3 points.

00:10:32

Finally, Aaron's Renescent Jones makes a deal with some interest-free football for 90 days, taking advantage of the click yes to score touchdown and checkout button.

00:10:40

Limited lifetime warranty, but big scoring potential.

00:10:42

Fall savings are here, and so is a Vikings victory.

00:10:45

Minnesota 23, Saints 13. Thanks, Zach. To Los Angeles, where if you asked me before, Would the Chargers win this game? I'd say fat chance, because Justin Herbertolo Colon has not met expectations, throwing absolute meatballs to the other team week after week. One bright spot for the Chargers was Kamani Vidal-Sassoon, who looked fabulous in hair cutting his way through the Broncos defense for a score. But when the game gets close, the big stupid picks guy shows up, and Justin Herbert and Ernie played like a Muppet, fumbling the ball and throwing a pick, leaving it wide open for Will— he is not a klutz— to kick Denver to victory. Are the Broncos back, or do they just play the Chargers? Broncos 23, Chargers 17. Sitting on the corner, Jameis Winston and Hoboken, such a 9 sight to see.

00:11:43

It's JJ, my lord, holding a clipboard, and 9 has turned into 18. Come on, Jaden, we're all waiting on your outcome for your strange calculating.

00:12:04

Giants beat the Commanders 27-27. And that was the fastest 2 minutes for week 5 in the NFL, brought to you by our friends at Chevy. Football season is here, and whether you're grinding through the week or gearing up for kickoff, there's one ride that's always game ready. It's the Chevy Silverado. There's a reason Chevy is called the heartbeat of America, and Silverado keeps that heartbeat strong. Check out the current offers on the 2026 Silverado at chevy.com. Okay, week 5 in the books, and, uh, special shout out to all the sickos and perverts tuning in today because it's going to be a hell of an episode. They're gonna love this one. Basically everything they wanted and dreamed for. If you're a Hank writer, shout out Gaz and Whitney who probably have their pants off listening to this.

00:13:03

Yeah, they're enjoying it. They're enjoying it. They're mincing themselves.

00:13:06

They're lubed up. But let's get into it, boys. We had a crazy— we had a— it's crazy because we had a Week 5 that, uh, there actually like weren't that many great games, but the moments that, uh, happened were very, very, uh, memorable.

00:13:22

There were some stupid, stupid moments. Yes, a lot of stupidity out there.

00:13:25

But there were a lot of games in the witching hour that had like— they were very inconsequential blowout stuff. But then there was a few— the, the moments we did have Left, left a lasting imprint. And we'll start with the Jaguars 19, Eagles 17, the early game, the international game. I'll say this right now, what they're doing to our boy Max is really mean because now we're back-to-back weeks where the Eagles have gone into a game where they, uh, were underdogs, where they— everyone going into it was like They're beat up. You know, last week they were beat up. This week Lane Johnson retires, trading offensive linemen, going across the pond. 2 straight weeks they go into a game where they're not supposed to win and they end up with 97% or higher win probability and then blow the game. They basically reel Max in to the point where they can fully rip his guts out. And it happened again with Yet again, another, uh, 2 field goals under 10 seconds, which I saw the stat from 1970, uh, the Super Bowl era to, to 2026, it had never happened where there were 2 field goals under 10 seconds to end a game.

00:14:39

It's now happened twice in the 2026 NFL season.

00:14:42

Yeah, yeah. And, uh, the Eagles, I mean, they, they just kept going through it too because Shipley got hurt like right off the bat. So they were forced to rely on Damien Pierce off the practice squad. And listen, I don't think the Eagles played poorly at all. I thought that the Jaguars, they probably should have been in a better position to win. But the one knock— I mean, I think that— I think Liam Cohen's a really good head coach. I think that he's a really good offensive coach and he's doing stuff that's kind of next level. And he should get all the credit for elevating the Jaguars to what they're doing. But he's kind of a dumbass when it comes to certain situational football aspects.

00:15:17

He had beans for brains today.

00:15:18

He did. He did.

00:15:19

He had pork and beans for brains.

00:15:19

It didn't make a lot of sense.

00:15:21

The end of the first half made no sense with the play calling. He was trying to get cute inside, like on the 1-yard line.

00:15:28

Oh, you don't like a jet sweep with Christopher Rodriguez being the lead blocker on the outside with no time left?

00:15:33

I don't like that. No, I don't. I'm not afraid to say it. He was jagging off and it was not— it was not fun to watch when they just— they were playing good football and then it seems like they just try to outsmart themselves in the most situationally important parts of the game. But overall, I thought, I thought the Jaguars played pretty good today. I thought that the Eagles played much better than most of us expected.

00:15:54

Well, the Eagles defense played well. Jalen Carter was an absolute force. And yeah, Liam Cohen had 2 moments, 2 goal line sets that were just baffling. The first was end of half to go for it with 5 seconds left and not take a field goal. And I get it. Everyone wants to go for it. The whole point though, and we've talked about this before, is that it, it, it makes sense to go for it on goal line, 4th and goal on like the 1, when you have the opportunity to back up your opponent. So your opponent now has to— if they can't get a first down, they're gonna punt. You're gonna get good field position at the end of the half. You don't have that. You, you, you're just going forward and not getting the benefit of the field position.

00:16:34

Yeah.

00:16:34

So the play calling was crazy. A jet sweep, uh, that took forever, that Christopher Rodriguez was the blocker on the outside. He got absolutely like blown by the guy who he's supposed to block, makes the tackle. And then 4th and— or 1st and goal on the 1, uh, in the 4th quarter, I believe, when they were like, hey, you know what, we got all the way down the field, let's go into a weird Wildcat formation. Oh, we got a penalty, false start, we're gonna go backwards. And they just kept on going backwards. That was stupid as well. But Max, how are you doing now that we've, uh, removed ourselves By, I don't know, like 8 hours from the game?

00:17:14

Not as bad as I was right after the game.

00:17:16

Okay.

00:17:17

But still pretty fucking bad.

00:17:19

Okay.

00:17:20

So the biggest problem, obviously, and it's a— you can tell us who's to blame, but the Eagles— the Jaguars miss an extra point to go up 2. The Eagles go down the field, kick a field goal with 8 seconds left. to win the game, so to speak. And then Jake Elliott— Jaguars have no timeouts, so it's not even a Ravens-Cowboys.

00:17:41

That's what I'm gonna say. You brought—

00:17:43

you—

00:17:43

Yeah, yeah, it's not even a Ravens-Cowboys situation. They can't— if you can't— if, if they— if the— like, the Ravens, I think, downed it and then had a big play in the middle of the field, called the timeout, hit a Tyler Lue field goal to win the game. This was no timeouts, just Kick it out of the back of the end zone and make them do a stupid, like, fumble-rooski play that has a 0.01% chance of happening. Instead, Jake Elliott kicks a line drive to Amir Abdullah. Shout out Nebraska. I know it was a tough weekend, but that was a nice return from him. He's still in the league. I think he got drafted in like 2015. Uh, line drive to Amir Abdullah, who returns it all the way into Cam Little's, uh, range with 1 second left. to kick the winning field goal.

00:18:30

The way that it went down, it couldn't have gone better because if he gets tackled 5 yards later, the game is over. If he gets tackled 5 yards before, it's out of field goal range. It was the exact amount of time and yards that allowed the Jags to win the game. But you just kick it out of bounds. You kick it out of bounds.

00:18:52

You kick it, yeah, into the end zone.

00:18:53

All you have to do at that point is defend the sideline. Anything in play is, is, is game over. And the defense has been so fucking good all game.

00:19:02

Yeah, Jill Carter plays so well.

00:19:02

Trust your defense over your special teams. The first play of the game they returned it for a touchdown. Why are you giving them the opportunity to go fucking do that again? Kick the ball in the fucking end zone and have your all-class defense win a fucking game so easily. It's so fucking easy. Why are you overthinking it? Just fucking do it. Put the ball in the fucking end zone and trust your fucking defense. I said I wasn't that mad anymore and now I'm mad again.

00:19:29

Yeah.

00:19:29

I mean, you have every right to be mad. That was a— that was an insane way to lose the game. And honestly, Max, it's not even like, yes, number one, kick it out of the end zone. Number 2, if you can't kick it out of the end zone, kick it out of bounds. Number 3, kick a pop fly so that your, your, your coverage team can get down there. He kicked a fucking direct shot to Amir Abdullah. Like, it was a kick designed to be returned in a situation where all you had to do was not do that. It was crazy.

00:20:00

And not to mention, in the, the drive before that's— that led up to the field goal, why are we throwing it on back-to-back plays with 2 incompletes to stop the clock and allow for 8 seconds? Run the fucking football. Jake Elliott has been awesome this year. Trust your fucking kicker. Make it the last play of the fucking game. Why are we doing this for 5 fucking yards? What difference is 5 fucking yards gonna do when you can just take the last play of the game?

00:20:29

Yeah, no, I think it's a valid point.

00:20:31

It was an absolute masterclass of fucking stupidity from Nick Sirianni to end that game. And he said it after the game. He fucking lost the game.

00:20:38

Yeah, no, Jim Elliott said the plan was to— for the kickoff to keep the ball in bounds.

00:20:42

Yeah, no, that's why— yeah, Nick Sirianni said like, I did not tell him to— I should have told him to kick it in the end zone. I didn't. I told him—

00:20:48

No, he told him to kick it in bounds.

00:20:50

Right, right. But he said he should have told him to kick it into the end zone. Instead, he told him kick it into the landing zone, which is exactly what you don't want to do. And then they asked Jalen Hurts about that after the game, that sequence you're talking about, Max. And he just basically said, I just work here, man. I don't know why you're asking me.

00:21:05

Well, the Eagles can't run the ball right now. He said they're on their third running back. Take a fucking knee. Yeah, yeah. Or do a tush push.

00:21:11

Anything. Anything. Just make that the last play of the game.

00:21:15

He said, it's not my place. When I'm up at night, I think about, should I have said something? So he's gonna be thinking about that tonight.

00:21:21

So he's gonna be like, it could have gone better.

00:21:22

He was also really bad in the second half. He just keeps doing the same fucking thing.

00:21:27

The second half, the Eagles are just so bad. I don't get it.

00:21:30

It's the same. Even the Bears game, we got fucking smoked in that Bears game, but the first half they looked good. They were right in that game. And it's every—

00:21:40

it's—

00:21:41

we just see the same fucking thing week in and week out. It's like, oh, Jalen Hurts looks great. First half, the offense looks great. And then the second half comes around. It's like they've never fucking played football before. They're a peewee team that can't move the ball.

00:21:51

We're 5— we're 5 games into the season. The Eagles in the second half this season, they have scored 23 points, which is last. They have 495 total yards, which is last. 51.7% of their drives are 3-and-outs. So half their drives are 3-and-outs in the second half, last. And for 4.0 pass yards an attempt, which is last. They just break in the second half every single game. It's crazy.

00:22:18

Well, we've, we've run out of offensive linemen. We don't have any more. We have our fourth, our fourth string center played today, third string left guard, second string right tackle, and then our third string right tackle played right guard today.

00:22:32

How was it? How was Bowling Ball with Knives?

00:22:34

I think he was good. I don't know.

00:22:36

I don't—

00:22:36

You got to watch. You got to watch smart. It was—

00:22:39

I've also found out that I don't like watching the tape when they lose.

00:22:43

Yeah, that's fair.

00:22:43

Yeah, completely fair.

00:22:44

Yeah, I got into the tape. I watched it the 2 games that they won and it was fun. And when they lose, it's like, I don't want to look at this game at all.

00:22:52

Yeah, you just want— you want to watch highlights, but like different angles of highlights.

00:22:55

Well, I like—

00:22:56

that's what the tape is really good for.

00:22:57

Yeah. Well, I like to critique games that we've won, right? Yeah. I don't like to look at games that we've lost.

00:23:02

But that's where it is. Like, if you— if your team has a big win, you spend the next like 3 hours watching all the highlights from it, and then you run out of highlights to watch. But then like a day later when the All-22's up, like, I have entirely new angles to see all these great plays on.

00:23:16

Like, I would love to watch the Jalen Carter All-22 of this game.

00:23:19

Dude, he was a beast in that first half.

00:23:22

Yeah, yeah, he was so good in this game.

00:23:24

He was a wrecking ball. So I mean, it is, it is mean what they've done to you because this was the Jaguars. You were 7.5-point underdogs. You went into this game being like Hey, we're just gonna, you know, we're the underdogs again. This is gonna be fun being the underdog, scrappy. And you did exactly that. You played underdog football. You scrapped. You played defense. Like, you let them make mistakes. And, and to have that happen is just insane. That's the longest flight that's ever been taken. Like, move over Amelia Earhart. I know you're probably still in the air. This is the longest flight ever.

00:23:56

It's a, it's a bad, bad loss. Yes, because you had it, you had it won. You weren't the better team today. The Jaguars played— they were really good. Parker Washington Had an awesome game.

00:24:05

Awesome.

00:24:05

He was really, really good. But the Eagles did everything that they had to do to win the game. And yeah, just brain fart at the end.

00:24:13

The Jaguars, by the way, are the first team since 2011 to win back-to-back games where they've had 13 or more penalties. So that's an issue for the Jaguars. 13 penalties, 100 yards. That's an issue for the Jaguars. But they've done— they keep winning. They keep winning. It was not a— it was not a good-looking game for the Jaguars. And they probably shouldn't have won given the fact that the game was over, but they found a way to win.

00:24:37

Yep.

00:24:37

They found a way to win.

00:24:38

Also, shout out the Eagles fans. That was awesome.

00:24:41

Yeah, it was a home game.

00:24:42

They traveled to London and they forced 2 delay of games at the goal line because they were so loud.

00:24:45

Yeah, that was very cool. Also considering that this should be a home game for the Jaguars.

00:24:50

It is technically.

00:24:51

And just, yeah, it was, it was literally a home game for them. But like to get, to get outshone, I think the Eagles are just like probably the only fan base that could do that.

00:25:00

What do you do with Nick Sirianni right now?

00:25:06

He's a bad guy right now.

00:25:08

He's a bad guy.

00:25:08

He's a bad guy.

00:25:10

I don't know.

00:25:11

Is there a mutiny?

00:25:13

I don't know.

00:25:13

I read a headline that there might be a mutiny. I didn't dive into the body of the article, but it said possible mutiny.

00:25:19

Mutiny?

00:25:19

Yeah, mutiny.

00:25:20

I'm sick of them losing fucking games. And he goes to the podium and he's like, first thing you got to do is look at yourself.

00:25:25

Yeah.

00:25:25

Like, He's like, he's actually kind of a narcissist.

00:25:28

He does it every time.

00:25:29

How much he's had to look at himself this year.

00:25:30

Yeah.

00:25:31

He's like, hey dude, he's that one friend who's always checking themselves out in like the, the, the car windows. Come on, Nick.

00:25:38

You know what my favorite, my favorite postgame quote was, is from Britton Covey. What'd he say? He said, uh, that Nick is wonderful at owning things and we all try to follow his lead.

00:25:48

Is he talking like a house, a jet ski?

00:25:50

No, in terms of like saying, hand up, I fucked up. Got it. Like Nick, Nick Sirianni might be the best coach in the NFL at being like, hey, I fucked up.

00:25:57

Yeah. You just got to stop fucking up and you can— and you don't have to say that all the time.

00:26:02

Yeah.

00:26:02

It's not a good thing to be great at admitting that you fucked up.

00:26:05

Constantly being the my bad guy. At some point you got to be like, hey, how about let's just not have it be your bad?

00:26:10

It's Cam Ward. Yeah.

00:26:12

He keeps saying you got to look in the mirror and then nothing changes. So you got to get a better fucking mirror, man.

00:26:17

Yeah. We got to take the mirrors out of his house.

00:26:21

No, we gotta get more mirrors.

00:26:22

No, no, no, no, no. What if you get like carnival mirrors and make him look fat and he's like, oh my God, I gotta change everything. That's what you need to do.

00:26:30

Yeah.

00:26:30

The mirrors that he has are not— either get rid of all of them or change them up. Maybe make them just one-way mirrors.

00:26:36

Yeah.

00:26:36

Because right now Nick Sirianni is looking in the mirror and he's still saying, I'm Nick Sirianni. I'm a Super Bowl winning head coach. I look pretty cool. We need to make him look grotesque. Like, maybe, maybe we draw Sharpie a dick on the mirror. So every time he looks in the mirror, it's like, oh, dude, you got a dick in your mouth. What are you doing? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

00:26:54

It was bad. This was—

00:26:56

I—

00:26:57

the only saving grace is that I didn't have to watch that in the cave.

00:27:00

I know. We were like, man, we wish I wanted to see you.

00:27:03

Yeah, I— well, it was just— you've seen it before. I mean, it's also the first— I think it's like the first time I've like ever watched an Eagles game with my wife. And she was just sitting there very awkwardly quiet as I watched what happened and just— I had a— no, I wasn't screaming at all. It was just silence. It was like—

00:27:22

You weren't screaming at all?

00:27:24

No, I swear.

00:27:25

Yeah.

00:27:26

I just was—

00:27:27

you didn't scream once?

00:27:28

It was— it was a speech— it was speechless. I hadn't— I hadn't— no, I had no words what I had just watched.

00:27:35

No screams.

00:27:36

You didn't say a word?

00:27:39

I don't think so.

00:27:40

Amir Abdullah returns the kick. He gets tackled. And you didn't say— Cam Little goes onto the field.

00:27:47

The fuck?

00:27:47

Come on.

00:27:48

Kicks the field goal.

00:27:49

I don't think—

00:27:49

and then goes up to the crowd and like—

00:27:51

I was like, it was more like, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.

00:27:54

Did you think there was a chance Cam Little missed the kick?

00:27:57

No, I knew.

00:27:58

Yeah.

00:27:58

All right, good. At least they didn't put like— because the minute he ran it back, Cam Little is fucking awesome.

00:28:03

Oh no, I knew that was good. Like as soon as they got it into field goal range, I was like, oh my God, they Yeah.

00:28:07

And the whole time I was watching, I was like, dude, if it is a really hard thing to ask someone on the coverage team to do, but imagine if he had had the, the, the mind to just hold him up.

00:28:18

Yeah, that was the other thing. No, it was literally— it was the perfect spot on the field. Yeah, perfect spot on the field. Yeah.

00:28:24

Or just like, just run with him for a couple more seconds.

00:28:26

Yeah.

00:28:27

Like next to him, like you're going for a jog and then tackle him.

00:28:29

Yeah. Hank, do you have any questions for Max? Thoughts for Max? Did you watch the game, Hank? You're an international guy.

00:28:36

Yeah, I love international.

00:28:37

You watched the game?

00:28:38

Yeah.

00:28:38

All of it?

00:28:39

Most of it.

00:28:40

Okay. I don't, I don't believe you.

00:28:42

I watched the end of it. Not the very end. I actually thought the— I went and took a shower after the—

00:28:48

After the Eagles hit their field goal?

00:28:49

Yeah, that was the end.

00:28:50

Because it was like running late and I was like, oh, I got to—

00:28:52

So then when you came out, what went through your head?

00:28:54

I genuinely didn't see it till like 30 minutes later. Like, I started watching the rest of the games. I opened up my DraftKings. I bet the Eagles moneyline. I was like, oh, And then I was confused. And then I was really— I couldn't— I could not believe it.

00:29:07

Damn.

00:29:07

Did you scream?

00:29:10

Yeah, I did scream.

00:29:12

Yeah, you have to scream.

00:29:13

Which is why I know Max screamed. You definitely screamed. At least walked into your— you didn't walk into your bedroom after and like yell into a pillow or anything?

00:29:23

No.

00:29:24

Damn.

00:29:26

I think that they need to do something about the timing of these games. Because this game, it wasn't even like a— it didn't run into overtime and it still— and it felt like it ended. I don't like when there's overlap.

00:29:37

Yeah. You know what?

00:29:38

It has to end before the other game starts.

00:29:39

You know what they should do? They should play them in America.

00:29:41

Yeah.

00:29:43

At the normal windows to play a football game.

00:29:48

I love international. I'm all about growing the game. I do. Oh, the early morning sometimes it is kind of a force.

00:29:54

We got another one next week.

00:29:55

I know it's kind of a force.

00:29:57

Big time for us.

00:29:59

Yeah.

00:30:00

I have a take.

00:30:01

Yeah.

00:30:02

I'm— I like Jason Kelce. I think he's a nice guy. I think he's a talented broadcaster.

00:30:05

Oh, don't do this.

00:30:06

I think he's a good podcast.

00:30:07

Don't do this to Max.

00:30:09

If you're a Jaguars fan, you're watching that game, you want to destroy your television.

00:30:13

Well, I mean, everything's against you. You have a home game where it's Eagles fans screaming.

00:30:18

But usually the announcers, if it's— it's one thing to like opt into them. It's another thing if it's the only broadcast that you can watch on TV and it's NFL Network. And then Jason Kelce is just talking about how great the Eagles are the whole time. If I'm— I was able to deal with it because I like Jason Kelce and whatever. But if you're a Jaguars fan watching that game, that's got to be the most infuriating experience of all time.

00:30:41

Yeah, you have a fair gripe.

00:30:42

I disagree. OK, I think he was being too impartial. There were, there were multiple times I was watching the game where I was like, No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

00:30:50

Jason, we know what you're really thinking.

00:30:51

I need you to— I need you to be a homebody.

00:30:53

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:30:53

I like that. Yeah, 2 different sides of the same coin.

00:30:55

Well, there were times he was like—

00:30:56

He loves Josh Heinz Allen.

00:30:58

I know.

00:30:58

He kept saying—

00:30:59

he was complimenting a lot of the Jags and I was like, Jason, come on now.

00:31:03

Well, he was like, I really gained a lot of respect for Josh Heinz Allen because Josh Heinz Allen went out of his way to tell me how much he loved Lane Johnson. So I'm a big Josh Heinz Allen guy now.

00:31:15

Yeah, no, it should have been more of a homer. I know, like, I didn't like it. I didn't like it at all, to be quite honest with you.

00:31:21

All right, you guys have a bye week?

00:31:23

No.

00:31:23

Oh, you're playing the Panthers next week?

00:31:26

We get the Panthers coming off of a bye. So we not only get a bye, we have to play a team coming off of a bye.

00:31:33

Ew.

00:31:34

Which, that makes zero sense.

00:31:35

That's brutal. Why do they do that to you? But hey, Do you want to say the thing that you said to him last week that you can say to him? It still applies today.

00:31:45

I forget what I said to him. I say a lot of things to Max. So when the division— Max, you can still win the division right in the thick of it. Max?

00:31:54

Yep. Do you hear what PFT said? You can still win the division.

00:31:57

Even the Eagles aren't out of it yet.

00:32:00

Eagles are favorites to win the division.

00:32:03

What favorites?

00:32:04

Plus 170.

00:32:05

You got this, Max.

00:32:06

The Commanders +750.

00:32:09

Ooh, maybe worth a sprinkle.

00:32:11

Play some good ball there. You want to go to that game? Let's do it.

00:32:14

Good ball.

00:32:14

All right, Giants 27, Commanders 27. Uh, our guy PMT Stats put it perfectly when he, he tweeted, uh, the NFC East had 2 teams play one another, a team that led while kicking off with 8 seconds left, a team that played an 0-4 team, and they won 0 games this week.

00:32:31

Yep.

00:32:31

That's pretty hard to do.

00:32:33

Yeah.

00:32:34

Giants 27, Commanders 27. That's—

00:32:37

I don't think that's fair because the Giants won.

00:32:40

Yeah.

00:32:41

The Giants won this tie.

00:32:42

Yeah. Yeah.

00:32:43

Well, you always say that there's always a winner and a loser in a tie. When we tied England in the World Cup in Qatar, we beat the shit out of them in that 0-0 tie. The Commanders choked away this tie.

00:32:55

Yeah.

00:32:56

We are the losers of this tie. And it's weird because you could make the argument earlier in that overtime That the Giants choked away their tie.

00:33:05

Cam Scatterboo.

00:33:06

Scatterboo. I mean, I guess we can take it. Do you want to do the end of the game first?

00:33:10

Whatever you want to do.

00:33:11

It's your game.

00:33:11

Yeah.

00:33:11

Hank, you tell me.

00:33:12

Yeah.

00:33:12

End of the game first.

00:33:13

End of the game first. Okay. So a lot of people are asking, hey, PFT.

00:33:16

I've been waiting like 5 hours for this.

00:33:18

Yeah.

00:33:18

Hey, PFT, do you blame— who do you blame for the way that the game ended?

00:33:22

Initially it was Dan Quinn.

00:33:23

Well, the answer is—

00:33:23

In the cave.

00:33:24

The answer is I blame Jayden Daniels 100%. And I blame Dan Quinn 100%.

00:33:29

Okay.

00:33:30

And I think what happened was, number one, in the postgame interviews that they did, it seemed like Jayden was trying to say something that he wasn't actually—

00:33:40

Well, can you describe for the people that didn't see, maybe the listeners that didn't get to watch the game? Okay.

00:33:45

For the blind listeners.

00:33:46

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:33:47

Set the scene.

00:33:47

Okay.

00:33:48

So with about 51 seconds left, we have the ball, we're driving, we've reached, I believe, the 24-yard line.

00:33:53

It's 27-27. It's overtime. No timeouts left.

00:33:57

No timeouts for the Commanders, which— It's at the 24-yard line.

00:34:00

It's important to say because I don't know if everyone on the Commanders knew that.

00:34:03

It's— there's no timeouts. We have zero timeouts left. And, uh, we run the ball with Rashad White. We take our sweet-ass time. Jayden's standing there with both his hands in the hand warmers, so there's like no urgency. You can tell that they're doing something intentional, deliberate, blah blah blah. Then they get up, uh, they run in motion, they, they bleed the clock down. And, uh, they run a play. Jayden drops back from under center, handing the ball off to no one, play fake to no one, then panics, takes a couple steps forward to his left, and then he dives at a defender's leg, uh, thereby keeping the clock running. As I said, no timeouts. And then they weren't able to get a snap off to spike it to kick a field goal, which would have been about a 41-yard field goal at the last second.

00:34:50

Also, there was no urgency once he went down for about 3 seconds. He didn't realize that the clock was running.

00:34:56

Right. There's no urgency at that point. So I should also mention that I think it was Jonathan Vilma on the broadcast. He had no idea what was going on. He was saying, okay, they're going to try to get the ball in good position here for their kicker to kick it. So he had no idea that there were no timeouts, which was like—

00:35:11

Does he get 100% of the blame?

00:35:12

No. Yeah. Yeah, actually.

00:35:14

Yes.

00:35:14

Good point, Hank. But, um, that's why I think I was confused when I was watching it too, because it was like, wait a second, what's, what's going on here?

00:35:22

Yeah, they're centering the ball. They're centering the ball for the kicker.

00:35:24

Uh, so why I say it's 100% on Jayden, because I think good organizations and good coaches, offensive coordinators and head coaches, will make sure to run through every scenario with their quarterback before a play like that. I think they'll leave no doubt in, in anybody's mind what's going on. I think a good coach would do that.

00:35:46

Oh, Max is circling something.

00:35:48

Okay.

00:35:49

The Commanders talked about not having any timeouts in the huddle.

00:35:51

Yeah.

00:35:52

So they did. They were aware.

00:35:54

Right.

00:35:55

Ball with White.

00:35:56

So in between that White run to the end of the game, what was that communication like in the huddle?

00:36:00

Did you guys know there was a timeout? Was that— you didn't have any timeouts left. Was that talked about in the huddle after the White run? That was, that was talked about in the huddle. Yes.

00:36:08

Right.

00:36:08

So, so what I'm saying is a good organization will say, here's what you do, throw the ball out of bounds or clock it if that read's not there. Apparently they did not say that explicitly, but you should not have to say that explicitly. Your quarterback should know exactly what's going on. He did not know what was going on. So yeah, and then in the postgame press conference, I feel like he was trying to say something without actually saying it. And I'm still kind of confused as to exactly what it was because he was talking about how it's like an entire team from the top down. So Jayden said, we all have to be better situationally. Starts with me. Everybody will say the same thing, but we just got to be better at situational football. We got to stop the clock. We got to know the situation. We got to relay that as an offense. It starts from everybody top down. Ultimately, it's on me. It sounded like he was trying to say something about the coaching staff without saying something about the coaching staff. And if he— if they did tell him the situation and he's trying to blame them, that's a scumbag move.

00:37:11

Uh, now I think it's on Dan Quinn also because like he should have gone through— you go through every scenario if you're a really good head coach like that. You make it very clear what your quarterback's going to do. Obviously your quarterback should know what to do, but you have to go that step. And I think that ultimately Dan Quinn's going to bear most of the responsibility for this because he got Magic Johnson tweeting mad.

00:37:33

Yeah.

00:37:33

And Magic Johnson never— he never posts mad. He was mad. Magic Johnson usually has— it's like buying a handgun. There's usually like a 3-day waiting period that Magic Johnson has before he is allowed to post after he's mad.

00:37:46

He said, I'm in total disbelief my Commanders had such poor clock management in today's overtime game against the Giants. All we had to do was kick the field goal and we would have won the game.

00:37:55

Yep. So that's not something that Magic Johnson would normally say. That to me tells me Dan Quinn might be— the seat might be hotter than hot. Like, it might be a your, your card doesn't work on Monday type hot.

00:38:08

Max, you look like you had a question.

00:38:14

You're acting like Jayden Daniels like doesn't know how to play football.

00:38:18

How do you mean that?

00:38:19

No, he just needs to get told like exactly what to do, when to snap the ball, where to throw it. And if he doesn't do that, it's not his fault.

00:38:28

I said rewind this just 30 seconds to the point where I said—

00:38:32

Dang Quinn is going to get the responsibility.

00:38:35

Like, yeah, I think he'll— I think he'll be the one. I don't think that Magic Johnson's going to cut Jayden Daniels.

00:38:39

Well, that's not crazy for PFT to say that the coach will get the blame.

00:38:43

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

00:38:44

But Jayden Daniels has to know, like, and he deserves it. It's his 3rd year.

00:38:49

I literally said that. I'm saying that, like, he has to know that. That's—

00:38:54

But then you also said 5 times it's like a good organization doesn't do—

00:38:59

I think— I think both those things are true.

00:39:00

I think a good quarterback doesn't do that.

00:39:02

I, I think that most quarterbacks—

00:39:03

yes, like you said, a good organization 5 times.

00:39:06

I don't think you ever—

00:39:06

like, yeah, I said it was his responsibility. I said like he should have known that. Absolutely. It's on him. He's the quarterback. He has to know that.

00:39:15

Anyone who knows football, like everyone watching that game, right?

00:39:18

That—

00:39:18

so I think, I think what happened, if I—

00:39:21

not Jonathan Vilma.

00:39:22

Yeah, not Jonathan Vilma. 100% of the blame. Watching the play over again, it looked like something in the play wasn't what he expected as soon as the ball got snapped. Something was different about the play than what he expected. He panicked and he went forward and he dove.

00:39:36

And it's not an excuse. You gotta throw it away.

00:39:38

It's not an excuse. You gotta throw it away. I'm saying that's, that's what happened. It was a bad, bad play and it is his responsibility to know that.

00:39:45

But I still don't know if he knew because he didn't get up right away. Like he didn't. I don't think he was— like when he, when he went down, he didn't get, he didn't get up for like 4 seconds. He just kind of sat there until the rest of the team was like, dude, We gotta go.

00:39:59

It was Josh Connerly. Yeah, that was the first one.

00:40:01

Like, hey, what are we doing?

00:40:02

So like, it's, it's weird. I don't, I don't know. I'm reading between the lines with what he said at his press conference, what Dan Quinn said at his press conference, and it seems like they're both ultra committed to not saying anything at all and not saying anything of substance. So like, you have to read between the lines a little bit. But the bottom line is Jay Daniels has to know exactly what's going on. Dan Quinn— good organizations, good coaches, will just like tell them the exact scenario.

00:40:27

But you say that, but then when the players, when you see the, like the, I don't know if that was an offensive lineman, like he said that the players were aware of the situation.

00:40:37

Yeah, they knew they had no timeouts.

00:40:38

So what if they knew they had no timeouts? What didn't the coaches do? Like, did they, like, what were they supposed to tell him for them to not have blame?

00:40:48

I don't know. I might get— for who to not have blame?

00:40:50

The coaches, like you're saying, it's like the coaches organization, like they should have been more specific.

00:40:55

How some of the players knew.

00:40:58

It sounds like they all knew.

00:40:59

Yeah. Well, he said some of the players knew. I saw another interview with somebody else that said not so much. So like, I don't know. I don't, I don't know exactly. I don't think we're ever going to know all that happened. The bottom line is that Jayden has to know the situation and throw the ball away or spike it. Just throw the ball onto the ground. It's not hard to do.

00:41:17

Like it looked like the play call had a a throwaway. Yeah. Like they, they had to sign the play. There's a guy going to the sideline that all he has to do is throw it over.

00:41:26

Yeah.

00:41:27

Yeah.

00:41:28

Like 82 is right, is right there. All he has to do is throw it over 82.

00:41:31

Yeah. So I don't know. I don't know what happened. And the reason for like no rush whatsoever.

00:41:40

I think he just had it like a complete brain fart.

00:41:42

He might have had a complete brain fart.

00:41:43

Like they had— it seemed like they had the play. They knew they—

00:41:47

he might have forgotten how much time was left on the clock.

00:41:49

I think he had a complete brain fart because he didn't get up right away. If he'd gotten up right away, you'd have been like, oh, that was just a broken play. Something fucked up happened in the play. He literally didn't get up for 3 seconds until someone was like, dude, get up.

00:42:00

Yeah.

00:42:01

So that's like he just didn't know the situation.

00:42:03

Yeah, it's— it was a terrible play and he fucked it up.

00:42:08

Hank, do you have any questions?

00:42:11

Trying to think. No. Like the— I guess if 100— you can't— there's only 100% of blame pie on the table, so you can't do 100 and 100.

00:42:21

I got 2 pies, though.

00:42:22

No, there's one pie.

00:42:23

Why can't I do 2 pies?

00:42:24

Because I'm asking a question in a scenario where there's one pie.

00:42:27

Yeah.

00:42:28

Where, where does that pie get split up?

00:42:30

So I could do the thing where Jonathan Vilma's looking at 1%. Yeah. I'm saying 5.

00:42:36

Yeah.

00:42:36

For JV. But I, you can look at other stuff that happened in the game. You can say that Dan Quinn had the most cowardly punt of the NFL season so far. when he punted the ball away in overtime at 4th and 5 and gave the ball up. Like, that was a bad move. He said Dan Quinn has some responsibility for not calling a timeout at the very end of the game when the Giants had the ball on their own 1-yard line and let them just take a knee at the 1. And there were like 6 seconds left in the game. And then you could try to get— you could try to attack them for a safety. Like, they're backed up that far, literally at their own goal line. Why not make them run another play at that point? There's, there's other stuff you can point out, like a missed extra point in the game and be like, that should have happened. There's a lot of bad stuff that happened. But yeah, that is like who gets the responsibility for that last play. Is that what you're asking? Yeah.

00:43:30

One thing that you, that you can give Dan Quinn the credit, the, you know, the blame for is you just shouldn't even be running that play. Like, yeah, like even calling that play opens up a bad thing because like, God, he could have— there could have been great pressure and he got sacked and he couldn't even get it away. Intentional grounding. Just kick the fucking ball. Yeah, just kick the fucking ball.

00:43:50

So it was an intermediate pass play. So I guess the idea was like try to get 4 yards to the sideline.

00:43:55

See, that's what pisses me off with the same thing in the Eagles game. Just trust your fucking kicker, right? 4 yards makes no fucking difference, right? It makes no— like, how many fucking times do you see good from wherever, good from wherever? If it's a good kick, it's a good fucking kick. 4 yards, 98% of the time is not going to make a single difference.

00:44:13

Yeah.

00:44:14

So why risk it?

00:44:15

I mean, ultimately, this is— I think there's no way that this happens. A lot of it you have to look at and say, if Jayden played and was in these scenarios more often and he was on the field, he's more used to being there, less likely to have a brain fart. That's kind of what it comes down to.

00:44:30

That's fair.

00:44:31

And, and maybe it was a brain fart. Maybe he was told some, some wrong information that we're not being shared. I don't know. They're, they're very weird with how they're talking about it. My guess is that they're just all kind of trying to protect one person, whether that's Dan Quinn or whether that's Jayden. I don't know. But it's bad. It was a very, very bad ending of a very winnable game. 41-yard field goal. And it's not like, like we didn't need to run the clock down because you can't— if you make the field goal, that's game over. They're not getting the ball back. We're not going to have to kick off.

00:45:03

Mm-hmm.

00:45:03

Um, and then there's ultimately some blame pie that goes to the, uh, the defense in the 4th quarter. And, and we got—

00:45:10

Jameis caught fire.

00:45:11

Jameis caught fire.

00:45:12

Isaiah Likely caught fire.

00:45:13

We got Jameis big time. And they went— they figured out in the 4th quarter, we got to start going Mikey hunting. And, uh, I don't know why it took them that long to do it because the defense was pretty good through 3 quarters. And then they went Mikey hunting. And, uh, yeah, Likely and Nabers both had career days, just lit us up. And, uh, yeah, I mean, credit to the Giants for, for fighting back and going on a couple long drives in the 4th quarter that ended up tying the game. I also think that the Giants should have gone for 2 after they ended up, uh, scoring the, uh, the touchdown that took them to 1 point behind at the end of the 4th.

00:45:49

Mm-hmm.

00:45:49

But I think ultimately that's one thing about Harbaugh. I— he's not an aggressive coach. He just always had Lamar Jackson telling him We got to go for it now.

00:45:58

Yeah.

00:45:58

The Giants need to figure out who on that team is going to be the Lamar Jackson.

00:46:01

Yeah.

00:46:01

That he trusts, that he'll have to just give him that boost and be like, hey, coach, we should go for this.

00:46:05

Yeah.

00:46:06

So we can say, okay, because he doesn't have that killer instinct right now.

00:46:08

Harbaugh had some funny quotes after the game. He said our defense has been playing—

00:46:12

oh, we know.

00:46:13

He said on Jameis Winston, I thought he was amazing in the 4th quarter, the 2nd half. The 1st half, he wasn't. He'll be the first to tell you that. That's, that's a good coach. Just given some, some hard truth. And then he said, I'm, I'm happy it wasn't a loss and I'm sad it wasn't a win. So that's how I feel. So I know it sounds obvious, but that's kind of how you feel. That's a perfect way to sum it up.

00:46:32

Yeah. And it's crazy because the overtime in this game had so many swings. Yeah. So 4th and 5, like I said, we punt the ball away. That was the most cowardly punt in the NFL this season that Dan Quinn chose to do. Then the Giants come back down the field later on and the Giants end up at our 24-yard line and Cam Scatterboo fumbles. I think it was Duron Payne, uh, punched the ball out. Fumbles at the 24 when they could have just taken a knee and kicked a field goal and they would have won. So now we get the ball back when we would have just been begging for a tie-off from this field goal, and we go down the field, then we fuck everything up, and then all of a sudden the Giants win the tie.

00:47:10

Yep.

00:47:10

It was a back-and-forth tie.

00:47:11

It's back-and-forth tie. So what was the blame pie on the last play?

00:47:16

On the last play, without us knowing everything, I'm going to say 75% Jayden, 25% Dan Quinn. Now, who's going to end up eating shit for it? Probably Dan Quinn.

00:47:27

I'd agree with that.

00:47:28

Do you think there's any, any like beef in the locker room, like with some of the players not having Jayden's back? And like, you know, it comes back to the Arizona State stuff. Is that, is that something that is brewing?

00:47:38

Good question.

00:47:39

No, that's just, that's nonsense.

00:47:40

I don't, I don't think so. They're all pretty happy. They're pretty happy with him today because he did play well. And he was, you know, he looked good running the ball.

00:47:48

He ran really well.

00:47:49

He had over 100 yards rushing, was pretty effective in passing. He fucked up a couple of third downs that probably would have put the game away. But overall, I'd say he played a decent game throwing the ball and a great game running the ball. So I think his teammates love it. I think that was the fastest that he's ever run today.

00:48:07

That's awesome.

00:48:08

Yeah. So I think he's, I think he's okay. I don't think that they hate him. It was also— the day got off to a weird start with Adam Schefter being like, hey, according to league circle doctors, uh, he's probably going to dislocate his elbow again.

00:48:21

Yeah, that was weird.

00:48:22

That's weird news.

00:48:23

Schefter had a weird weekend.

00:48:24

He did.

00:48:24

Which we'll talk about when we get to the Texans game. Uh, okay, so Giants now, uh, heads top of the NFC East. What, 3-1-1? It's great that we got a tie. It was also just the most hilarious tie ever. From an objective third party, it was quite a ridiculous tie to have because both teams felt like they were going to win. And then it's like, oh shit, I wasn't even thinking about a tie.

00:48:49

Yeah. The Giants were 0-230 since 1970 when they were trailing by 14-plus points in the final 8 minutes of regulation. They are now 0-230-1.

00:49:00

They got a tie.

00:49:01

They got a tie out of it.

00:49:01

Now they got a tie.

00:49:02

They're off the schneid. So if we had won this game, I probably would have felt really good, like we're back. Now it's— this feels like classic Redskins football. This feels like all the bad vibes that have ever happened. And it does feel like this is— this is the type of thing that is more likely to make a team fall apart at the seams than it is to bring them closer together.

00:49:22

I would say.

00:49:23

But I guess we'll find out next Monday night in San Francisco.

00:49:25

Ooh.

00:49:27

Yeah.

00:49:27

Ooh.

00:49:27

That's a tough draw.

00:49:29

That'll be tough.

00:49:30

Whose line is that anyway?

00:49:31

I'm going to guess 15.5. 7.5. 15. Yeah, 7.5 sounds about right.

00:49:37

That's about maybe 8.5.

00:49:38

I think it's 7 or 7.5.

00:49:40

8.5 could be good. It's the over a touchdown.

00:49:44

14.5.

00:49:45

7.5.

00:49:46

Because I don't, I don't think that the Commanders are that bad, but that was a very bad way to tie, to lose a tie, to lose a tie.

00:49:55

Yeah. You good, Hank? You got any other questions?

00:49:57

No, that's it. Yeah, I guess the, with the, with the NFC Beast being the new NFC South, like, do you still think you can win the division?

00:50:04

They are the Billy Baldwin of divisions. So yes, yes, I do. I don't think it's—

00:50:10

I think anyone can win that division.

00:50:11

Like I said, it's going to be tough because this is the type of thing that will make for infighting and like people playing the blame game. And then that's not ever going to make a team closer. But strictly from how we played today, taking away that very last second brain fart, I think that we still could because the division is ass.

00:50:29

I think anyway, if you stack enough ties, Yeah, you could, you could win the division. What are you gonna say, Zach?

00:50:34

Quick question, PFT. Who would you want the blame to fall on in the organization?

00:50:38

Hmm. Like, who do I want to see fired?

00:50:40

Yeah, like, who do you want if it comes out like, hey, we got to blame somebody? Who do you want to be blamed the most here?

00:50:45

I would like to blame Jonathan Vilma. Jonathan. Well, he's number one, obviously, but he's not in the organization.

00:50:51

You got to hire him and fire him and be like, see, yeah, we got someone for you guys.

00:50:56

Whoever's in charge of just sticking Luke McCaffrey on special teams and not using him.

00:51:01

Okay.

00:51:01

Do you think there's a chance that Dan Quinn hires a nerd?

00:51:05

It is a very Dan Quinn thing to do because—

00:51:07

You could definitely see him hiring a nerd being like, here's our nerd. He's going to make sure this doesn't happen again.

00:51:12

The reason why I'm still not completely convinced that it's not Dan Quinn's fault what happened at the end is like he does, he did have that whole 28 to 3 thing.

00:51:22

Yeah.

00:51:22

But yeah, so he's a nerd.

00:51:23

He's never been a master of the clock.

00:51:25

Maybe it's like, you know, You hire, you hire someone to look over the nuclear station after Chernobyl. Be like, hey, we got a guy who's making sure that there's no, there's no accidents anymore.

00:51:36

But again, that's something that could very easily be done. Yeah, I don't know. I don't think that you necessarily needed a nerd in this situation. You needed to figure out what to do.

00:51:47

No, just basic situational awareness.

00:51:49

And also the thing that I'm confused by, why, if it's all agreed that this is just going to be a clocking of the ball, Why was Jayden under center? That seems like line him up in shotgun and then you, you don't have to worry about the exchange or anybody getting stepped on. That seems— that's—

00:52:04

well, no, under center would be clocking the ball.

00:52:07

That's a weird part to me. Well, it obviously wasn't like a clocking, like a straight down spike. Yeah, yeah, it was the Kirk Cousins. You spiked that where he took a knee.

00:52:14

Uh, okay. Uh, and credit the Giants for, for forcing a tie. Scadaboo was a monster. Uh, and Jameis. Jameis is I don't really know what to— they did bring in JJ McCarthy for a play. He just got smoked. That seemed kind of mean. It was actually 2 plays, I think.

00:52:29

Yeah, a couple of plays.

00:52:30

And he— it was like an RPO and he just got swallowed up. So it's good to see him out there. He was sitting underneath the field goal post before the game doing his Zen stuff. So he's back, kind of.

00:52:43

It does feel like they're, they're conditioning us to have Jayden lose the starting job soon.

00:52:49

What?

00:52:49

That's what it felt like to me.

00:52:51

Jameis?

00:52:52

James.

00:52:52

Oh, James.

00:52:54

Oh, that was a slip.

00:52:56

Is it Aiden time?

00:52:56

Freudian slip.

00:52:57

Is it time for Aiden? No, I'm talking about James because JJ got in a few times and Jameis did not look like he was ready for that. He was not expecting to be taken out of the game. So that's why I'm saying it's probably something that they're, they're probably trying to do the boiling frog thing where we'll put JJ in for like 3 more plays every week until all of a sudden he's a starter. Nobody realizes it yet.

00:53:19

That was a deep, deep, deep dark thought slip.

00:53:24

Do I think that they should bench Jayden? No, I don't think that.

00:53:26

No, I know you said it twice. That's why we all stopped and we're like, whoa. Uh, okay, that's that game. Great tie. Uh, sickos and perverts, we got more. There's another song. Packers 31, Bears 7. Listen, Mike Ditka died. Let's start with that. Okay. I know that it's a little tongue in cheek, but it was— I was sad on Friday to hear the passing of Mike Ditka. Would you guys not agree? Like Mount Rushmore football guy. Just everything about him is football.

00:53:56

Yeah, football guy.

00:53:57

He was a tight end, won a Super Bowl as a tight end, won a Super Bowl as an assistant coach, won a Super Bowl as a head coach. Live, breathe, eat football. We got to interview him. I got to do a couple radio remotes with him. Every time I, I got to spend even a second of time with him, it was an absolute thrill. He was exactly what you thought, was exactly what you saw on camera, what you thought Mike Dicca would be. He was that in person. I was looking back and, uh, the way we got our interview with Mike Dicca, like, it was like 2016, 2017. Someone had given me Mike Dicca's phone number and I just texted him and I said, hey coach, This is early part of my take. So he, he could have just been like, fuck off, I'm Mike Ditka. Like, hey coach, would love to interview you. Uh, can we maybe set that up? And he just wrote back and said, yeah, come to my restaurant Thursday night. And that was it. We just went to his restaurant. He was just there and he's like, all right, where do you want to do this?

00:54:48

And then we just did it in his restaurant. He gave us his time and, uh, he was the best. So that sucked on Friday. Uh, you know, all-time football guy. But this game This game really sucked too. Uh, Packers 31, Bears 7. Like I said, that was an absolute ass-kicking, punking, bitch-slapping— no way to put it other than the Bears got pantsed. And all the good vibes from last year and the rivalry and Ben Johnson ramping it up, you could tell this game was very personal for Matt LaFleur, very personal for Jordan Love. And they proved that they were just better, like, every which way today. And it was a tough, tough watch. And I'll say this, Tyson Bagent, not an NFL quarterback. I think we could be done with that.

00:55:41

Yeah, I, I was thinking that they were going to replace him at halftime because he didn't look great.

00:55:45

Scored that drive at the end of the half.

00:55:47

Things just— the timing wasn't there. Everything that worked for him seemed like it was, like, done out of improvisation, where, like, say what you want about Keis Keenum, Like the arm strength, but he definitely got the ball out on time. He decisively knew where it was going.

00:56:00

Here's the problem. I think Tyson Bagent thinks in his head that he's a starting quarterback.

00:56:04

He does. Yeah.

00:56:05

He doesn't know that he's a backup quarterback. And so when Case Keenum comes in a game and he knows I'm a backup quarterback at this point in my career, I have to run the offense, get the ball out, let the guys make plays, just get out of the way and just like distribute the ball quickly. Tyson Bagent is standing in the pocket being like, I'm going to make the big throw. You don't have the big throw arm, dude. I'm sorry. You could have a long career as a backup quarterback. That'd be great. I'm not rooting against Tyson Bagent. It was just a very tough watch. And I just desperately want to see Caleb Williams back playing, which he did warm up today. So hopefully that happens. But he was bad. Jalen Johnson was really bad. The secondary— Here's the problem is that I went into this game on Friday's show. I said, I expect the Bears to win. So I'm not going to like backtrack on that. I thought the Bears were going to win. Do you remember the 2 things though that I was like, here's what I would be concerned about? One, Tyson Bagent being a backup quarterback, playing a game, teams getting, you know, tape on him and being like, hey, this guy can't make all the throws.

00:57:07

That turned out to be very true. 2, playing Carson Wentz in a monsoon, Geno Smith in 2026 Philadelphia Eagles offense is probably not how you should base your defense somehow being elite. And I was like, once we go on the road and play a real quarterback, it could be a problem. And Jordan Love was phenomenal today. He was just bomb after bomb after bomb, all on the secondary's head. He was so good. And it was just a, like, it's a burn the tape type of game. Like, I, I'm not going to sit here and be like, oh man, the Bears season's over. Oh, everything's bad. No, it's a really, really bad game. Move on to the next game. Burn the tape, hopefully get Caleb back. And you need Minungai back too, because Roschon Johnson, not— it's a little different watching him run the ball than when Minungai has the ball.

00:57:56

Is there any part that thinks like maybe the Packers, like they choked away those games last year in the second half? And maybe Flurry got smarter.

00:58:07

No, I think— I honestly think this is how— this is like human nature, sports. The Bears Had, had an up on the Packers last year with how the end of the season went with the overtime win at Soldier Field, then the playoff win. The Packers spent all offseason being like, fuck those guys, we're gonna get them back. And they looked like the team that had been spending all offseason being like, when we get our shot, we're gonna fucking give it to them. And the Bears look like the team that had been like, oh, we, we're fine, we can beat them now.

00:58:39

Yeah.

00:58:39

That's what it looked like. It looked like a team that took it personal and then took it out on the opponent, which happened to be the Bears today. So you can't really say anything other than that. You're like, hey, they kicked our ass.

00:58:52

The defense looked like dog shit today.

00:58:54

Yeah. And this is a Packers defense too that was— the Bears defense looked bad. Packers defense should have been, you know, was getting gashed and they weren't able to run the ball. And the Packers had all these flaws that they played 60 minutes of really good football. and absolutely embarrassed the Bears. So it's what makes rivalries great. You go back and forth. The handshake afterward was very icy, which I love. So, but this is the part like you can't—

00:59:20

I bet you when I, when I watched the Ben Johnson handshake from last year where he like came in low.

00:59:25

Yeah.

00:59:25

Like the hard one.

00:59:26

Yeah.

00:59:27

Yeah. This one you could tell LaFleur really enjoyed this handshake.

00:59:30

Yeah. No, he, and he has every right to. That's the thing is like Ben Johnson would probably say it. I've— I have ramped up the rivalry. When, when we get, you know, when the, when the serve gets volleyed back at us and we have someone ramp it up back at us, we got to take it like men and be like, hey, that was a bad loss. Figure out a way to beat them on Christmas Day.

00:59:50

Are you also worried about what happens when teams start going, uh, Johnson hunting? Oh yeah, because they were— they're hunting Johnson big time.

00:59:58

I mean, I, I have not fooled myself in thinking that the Bears defense was magically fixed after that 3-game stretch.

01:00:04

Yeah.

01:00:04

I think there's major problems. Uh, Austin Booker was really, really good, and he looks like he's becoming a dude. But yeah, no, this secondary has major, major problems. Jalen Johnson looks like a step slow on everything. And so you got to figure out a way to, to fix it, and you got to figure out a way to— we're going to play the Falcons next week, and it's— that's a really good offense.

01:00:23

You got—

01:00:23

I'm scared of good offenses. And, and you just hope that Caleb gets back because I think When we talked about it before the season, this team is going to have to just play in shootouts to win these games. And we're— and look, Ben Johnson went 2-1 with backup quarterbacks. If Caleb comes back on Sunday, Ben Johnson went 2-1 with backup quarterbacks. I'll take that all day. I think everyone would take that if you're like, hey, you lose your starter, you go 2-1. But we need Caleb back. And anyone who's fooling themselves that it's not— that this was going to be sustainable for a long period of time, you need Caleb back. back because this is not— this was not fun.

01:00:58

Yeah, Greg Olsen said that, um, that he looked great in warm-ups.

01:01:03

Yeah, so Caleb, like, he went through a whole warm-up. So yeah, hopefully he's— he's— he went— he, he's questionable. He was questionable. So, um, yeah, he didn't dress, but yeah, you need Caleb back.

01:01:14

What do you think about, um, memes suggesting that maybe the Jets— yeah, in the postgame handshake, the Jets took all of Ben Johnson's ability as a coach. And that's now it belongs to Aaron Glenn.

01:01:25

That's what I was talking about, memes. I said, I saw what you did. You were like, oh, I think it's a fair post. Well, I mean, Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson are really close friends. I don't think CJ Stroud and Caleb Williams were.

01:01:37

No, but Freaky Friday. You ever see Freaky Friday?

01:01:39

Yeah, I saw Freaky Friday.

01:01:41

I— my tweet was, that would be sick if that—

01:01:43

Listen, the, the, the sample size on the Freaky Friday so far is 100%. The Jets won and the Bears lost, so you're right. Yeah, stuff you can do about it. You just gotta burn the fucking tape. This is a bad one, man.

01:01:56

The Packers had a much better play. I didn't realize in the first quarter you guys got outgained 130 to 9.

01:02:02

Dude, we didn't— like, we couldn't move the ball. Tyson Bagent was throwing it into like 5 people. And that's not to say that no one would— like, I'm not gonna do the thing where it's like no one was open. No, no, there were guys open. He just was throwing it to the guy's cover.

01:02:15

Yeah.

01:02:16

Uh, because he couldn't read what was going on. He was throwing blind. And the Packers, like, this is, this is the scary Jordan Love, scary Matt LaFleur when they just take deep shot after deep shot. And Christian Watson was unbelievable and Matthew Golden looked awesome. So yeah, the scary team when they get it rolling like that.

01:02:34

Uh, Hank, do you have any questions?

01:02:35

Uh, yes, Big Cat. Does Ben Johnson—

01:02:38

You want to say anything about Mike Ditka?

01:02:40

Yeah, legend football guy. Great guy.

01:02:43

Wish you had remembered the batteries.

01:02:46

Yeah. Bad interview. Bad Zoom. No, I had— no, we recorded it. It just— bad tech.

01:02:51

Oh, we just recorded it with the camera microphone.

01:02:54

I listened back to it.

01:02:55

The, the Zoom, the Zoom, the Zoom.

01:02:59

It was just knives and plates.

01:03:01

We did it in a restaurant and like, we were like, there was so much noise. The Zoom recorder Like, didn't work basically, but we didn't realize that. I didn't realize that till after the fact. We had to use the camera audio and it was just in a ballroom essentially.

01:03:16

Well, Coach Dicca told us to show up and he'd do it.

01:03:18

Yeah, no, uh, that was tough. That was also like week 2 of the podcast.

01:03:23

Yeah, yeah.

01:03:24

Um, so how much—

01:03:25

Which speaks more to Dicca being like, these idiots that I have no— I never heard of, I'll do this interview.

01:03:32

Yeah, just show up.

01:03:32

Yeah.

01:03:33

And we'll do it.

01:03:33

Yeah.

01:03:35

How much blame do you put on yourself if there's a blame pie?

01:03:37

Blame pie, probably 95% Big Cat, 5%.

01:03:41

Okay.

01:03:42

5% me.

01:03:44

95% why?

01:03:47

Just because it can't, can't, can't all be me.

01:03:49

Okay. Got it.

01:03:50

Got it. So, but I get 95%.

01:03:52

You should have trusted him.

01:03:53

Yeah.

01:03:54

No, no, that was, that was, that was my bad.

01:03:56

It was also when we didn't have any sound guy. It was just the 3 of us.

01:04:00

Yeah, I can't even blame Mark. We didn't have— we didn't even have—

01:04:02

we just showed up.

01:04:03

This is before we were even in New York.

01:04:05

It actually is insane to look back and be like, he said, just come to my restaurant. We showed up, we ate dinner, and he walked in and was like, all right, you want to do it? And then we just fucking sat at the back of the restaurant right by where everyone was. I think they were like cleaning the silverware.

01:04:22

Yeah, they were doing the— they were doing side work. They were like wrapping silverware.

01:04:25

You guys in the interview.

01:04:26

Yeah.

01:04:26

No, it's just—

01:04:28

oh, man.

01:04:29

All right.

01:04:29

So what was your question?

01:04:31

Does Ben Johnson's record against NFC North concern you?

01:04:34

I saw that. You got to win the division games. Yeah, you got to. Like, I don't know what it's been. Now, my counterpoint would be we won the division last year. So yes, not great against the division, but we did win the division. It's going to be harder to win the division when you lose the division games. And yeah, we got to figure it out. We're 0-2 in the division right now. It fucking sucks.

01:04:56

You can try tying them.

01:04:57

Could try tying them. Yeah, I think this is— I mean, it's, it's gonna be all about how the Bears respond. If, if Caleb comes back on Sunday and, and we play the Falcons and we, we look awesome, it's like, all right, that's a, that's a burn the tape— like I said, burn the tape, like anomaly type of game. I just hope the defense is not as bad as they were today because again, it was like on their head constantly, just over and over.

01:05:22

You can't say Whatever Ben Johnson thinks, if Caleb Williams is not playing next week, who do you want starter?

01:05:28

Yeah, Case Keenum. I mean, that's— yeah, it's, it's got to be. Tyson Bagent was— yeah, he just wasn't good. And it's— he's unfortunately played a few times in starting, and I think he's like 3 touchdowns, 9 interceptions. Do you want to hear— do you guys want to hear a crazy one to finish this and we'll go to the next game?

01:05:48

We—

01:05:48

the QB Gami thing is stupid.

01:05:50

Right?

01:05:50

We all agree because they do the QB GAMI of like this stat line for a QB. Like there's, yeah, you know, so many stats, so many stats. There's 32 QB stat lines every single week. But I will give them credit for this. Okay, Case Keenum had 108 yards, 0 touchdowns, 1 interception, no QB GAMI. Stat line has happened 18 times before, most recently by JJ McCarthy on December 21st, 2025. Tyson Bagent had 87 yards, 0 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, no QB GAMI. Stat line has happened 9 times before, most recently by JJ McCarthy on November 23rd, 2025. We had 2 JJ McCarthys in this game.

01:06:26

Double 9.

01:06:26

That's insane.

01:06:27

Yeah.

01:06:28

To have 2 guys that is—

01:06:29

It's also not good.

01:06:31

No, I know. It's, it's, it's hilarious that we had 2 quarterbacks play in this game. Both had stat lines that most recently happened exactly by JJ McCarthy last year.

01:06:41

Yeah.

01:06:42

That's hard to do.

01:06:43

Are you looking at this loss and saying ultimately it could be a good thing?

01:06:47

Uh, well, yeah, it's, it's whatever, however they answer. Yes.

01:06:51

Because if it, if it was Caleb that played in this game, I could see this just being a big bummer. But yeah, it might be one of those good losses that kind of shocks you, slaps you in the face. It's like you're not actually, you're not actually as good as everyone's been saying.

01:07:04

Well, I, I think that the defense is— this was an eye-opening— I knew it was possible because like I said, the home-road split that I talked about, I referenced on Friday, is, is a real thing. I think overall, like, hey, this defense has still got problems and maybe we can add to it and figure out a way to do that at the trade deadline because it's— we're not going to play Carson Wentz in Monsoon, Geno Smith in 2026, Jalen Hurts. Like, that's, that's not, that's not how you should base your, your defensive, uh, stats. Uh, okay, Hank. This is like, it's actually like the Sickles and Perverts, if they could draw it up. Perfectly.

01:07:44

Yeah, it's great.

01:07:45

It's like heartbreaking Max loss, insanely embarrassing tie for, for, for PFT. Packers kicked the shit out of the Bears.

01:07:54

Why is Max leaving?

01:07:55

And then Patriots 45, Raiders 17, and Drake Maye, uh, is all the way back.

01:08:01

Max, you have to, you have to face the music. This is sad by Max.

01:08:04

This is really sad.

01:08:06

This is part of the game, Max. You know that. Big game, Max.

01:10:22

Uh, little pee-pee.

01:10:23

You tried to get out of the Patriots 45, Raiders 17, and Drake Maye being all the way back. You know, Hank, I should have realized how this day was going to go when I was doing my Fantasy Corner this morning and one of the Lockheads— I don't even know what you call your fans, the Hank Stans, the Lockheads.

01:10:45

Fam, just my family.

01:10:46

Okay, so just your family likes you.

01:10:48

No one else.

01:10:48

Yeah. Okay. So someone from your family asked the question, do you ever feel bad for Hank? And I said, no, absolutely not. He has a top 1% life. The real answer is you have like a top 0.01% life. And today just went exactly how you would have dreamed. If you could have dreamed up today, you basically hit every mark.

01:11:11

Yes.

01:11:12

The Jets losing is the only thing that you missed out on.

01:11:14

No, but it's kind of nice to have them like riding a little high. Just crush their souls that much more.

01:11:20

Oh, you're playing them next week?

01:11:21

Yeah.

01:11:21

Oh, so yeah, that's— so you actually did get every single thing you wanted today.

01:11:26

No, I want my boys to win.

01:11:28

Max Homa didn't win.

01:11:29

I want my boys to win. Max Homa did not win. You did not win. Max did not win. PFT did not win.

01:11:37

He didn't lose, but he didn't win. Yeah, I know I lost. That's a loss.

01:11:42

Did you— can you, Max, can you pull up the stat that Pardon My Take tweeted as well? But go ahead, keep going.

01:11:48

As a, as a, as a, again, like a producer of the show and caring about the listeners.

01:11:53

Yeah.

01:11:54

I can take some solace in the fact that those bad things happen to you guys, and it's good for the show.

01:11:59

Yeah, they didn't happen to you.

01:12:01

You care about listens.

01:12:01

But if it were up to me, like, we'd all win together.

01:12:03

Do you think that people tune in more when you, when you have a bad day?

01:12:08

No.

01:12:09

Okay. They want you guys. They care about you guys more, and they care more when you guys lose.

01:12:15

So they love you and they hate us?

01:12:17

No, I don't. I think, I think they don't care about me. as much as they care about you guys and they enjoy it when you guys lose that much more.

01:12:25

Okay.

01:12:25

Yeah.

01:12:26

Drake Maye was really, really good.

01:12:28

Phenomenal.

01:12:29

Was a laugher of a game. PFT, I know— well, actually, I should ask Max because, Max, you're Glenn.

01:12:35

He's the only one that Glenn follows. I don't know if he's actually Glenn or not, but the things add up.

01:12:40

So stats that— stats since Glenn Tape Scout ridiculed Drake Maye week 3. Drake Maye, 643 passing yards, 8 touchdowns, 79 rush yards, 1 turnover.

01:12:52

Now, I'm, I'm not a big Glenn fan.

01:12:54

And the turnover was like a comic book turnover.

01:12:57

Was that the, was that the bloodball?

01:12:58

No, because I'm not a, I'm not a big Glenn fan and he doesn't like me. We've all heard him say that. But I should come in to kind of set the facts straight on this because Glenn did his first video after week 1. Oh, after the Seahawks game. Oh, so it's really 7 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

01:13:16

Oh, so this, this is a wrong stat.

01:13:18

Completely incorrect stat. Yeah.

01:13:19

Memes, you led the people wrong.

01:13:21

But you didn't do any real correction until Jacksonville.

01:13:24

What do you mean?

01:13:25

If the defenders didn't have any arms. Yeah.

01:13:29

That's when Glenn got critical.

01:13:32

No, no, Glenn was—

01:13:33

sorry, sorry, Glenn.

01:13:34

Glenn was critical week 1 when he was like, look at these wide open guys that he missed.

01:13:38

Yeah, he's still running.

01:13:39

I'm on PFT's side here.

01:13:41

That was correction number 1. That was, that was after week 1. And then after week 2, I think he said, uh, that ball got tipped, actually, the interception in the Steelers game.

01:13:49

Mm-hmm.

01:13:49

The ball got tipped. And so here's what it looks like if there's no arms on any of the, the Jaguars players.

01:13:55

Mm-hmm.

01:13:55

Then after week 3, when he lost to the Jaguars, it was, um, was that, oh, look how much better, uh, Tommy DeVito is.

01:14:05

Mm-hmm.

01:14:06

And then after that, it was maybe, Drake Maye and Tommy DeVito switch places. Also look at Drake Maye run over this poor bastard on the sidelines.

01:14:16

Either way, Glenn's got his work cut out for him this week because Drake Maye was pretty much perfect.

01:14:22

Yeah, best he's looked, best he's looked this year by far. Best he's looked maybe ever in a Patriots uniform. No Matt Collins, no AJ Brown, no problem.

01:14:31

Doesn't matter.

01:14:32

Will Campbell, Will Campbell and Travion Henderson got hurt in like 30 seconds back to back. That wasn't good. Will Campbell, like, I think it's his knee, hopefully just a sprain. And then Trevion Henderson, like, hurt his ankle that he hurt early in the year. That was what he missed time for. So that's not good. But other than that, it was like the best game you could possibly ask for. They honored the 2001 team before. They're wearing the red jerseys. Just beautiful. Just a beautiful day in New England.

01:14:58

Vinatieri was there.

01:15:00

Yeah, all the boys were there.

01:15:01

Yeah, he was. I'll say this, Drake Maye, this is probably the best game that any quarterback has played this season. He was perfect. Yeah, he was perfect. The deep ball was, was magical. Everything was great. He played awesome. I have absolutely zero criticism of Drake May this week. He was, he looked like if he plays like this, he is the MVP.

01:15:21

Yeah. Division runs through us.

01:15:24

Yeah.

01:15:24

Is there a but? No.

01:15:26

I mean, we can move on to some other stats.

01:15:28

Please.

01:15:28

Okay. So the Raiders, tough break for the Raiders.

01:15:32

Best defense in football. They're leading the league Yeah.

01:15:36

Tough break for the Raiders looking at, you know, their wins. They're 3-2 now, right?

01:15:41

Yeah.

01:15:42

And their 3 wins have come against teams with a combined 1 win. So, but hey, you are what your record says you are. They were 3-1 going in here and Drake Maye looked awesome.

01:15:53

Fantastic.

01:15:54

Yeah.

01:15:54

Perfect.

01:15:56

Better than perfect.

01:15:57

Yeah.

01:15:58

Do they— do you think the Patriots had a little extra fuel knowing that they were beating Tom Brady?

01:16:03

Probably.

01:16:04

Yeah.

01:16:04

Like a big fuck you, Tom.

01:16:06

Yeah. I don't know about that, but they did beat Tom Brady's team today. Yeah, that's true.

01:16:12

They and Josh McDaniels got his revenge.

01:16:15

That's true.

01:16:16

Revenge game for him. I listen, I went in.

01:16:20

I—

01:16:21

one of the fantasy quarter questions was talking about the Raiders. It's like, I think the Raiders are like for real. Not— I said they're not maybe going to go to the playoffs, but for real in the fact that they're going to hang around and they got absolutely killed today. I do have a new gambling rule I'd like to throw out there to everyone. I think we just can't bet Kirk Cousins outdoors anymore. I think he's an indoor cat. He looked significantly older today outdoors.

01:16:48

Mm-hmm.

01:16:48

So that has nothing to do with the fact that the Patriots just killed them. The Raiders defense couldn't do anything, didn't get any pressure. You were waiting for Max Crosby to start wrecking the game. I think Drake May had like 2— got pressured twice in the first half. So the line was blocking very well. But yeah, I think Kirk Cousins, I think I'm just— it's, it's, you know, you get to a point where it's like, hey, you can't go outside. There's scary things outside. There's rain. There's, you know, turf. Technology.

01:17:16

Yeah.

01:17:16

Yeah.

01:17:17

Like, let's just stay inside. Okay. Let's, you know, we don't want to elderly dog or cat going and getting eaten by a coyote. Let's just stay inside, Kirk. We're going to do inside bets only.

01:17:28

He's better if he, you know, if he sleeps in his own bed.

01:17:30

Yeah.

01:17:30

And he wakes up and he has his meal that he knows sits well in his stomach.

01:17:34

He just looks older.

01:17:34

He drives the same way to work. Yeah. He's a man of routine. So yeah, no, I agree with that. He, he didn't look great today. Mendoza got in for a little bit and looked all right. I guess he was 6 for 8, 48 yards, was 5 for 5 on his first 5 passes. But yeah, I mean, the Patriots just played pretty much perfect football today.

01:17:53

They killed them.

01:17:53

And they did it minus a lot of their starters.

01:17:56

It was a laugher.

01:17:57

It was a laugher. Hank, I mean, as much as I know you're pointing a lot of fingers at Glenn, but—

01:18:02

I'm not. I—

01:18:04

you brought him up.

01:18:04

No.

01:18:05

False.

01:18:06

Oh, Big Cat brought him up.

01:18:07

Yeah.

01:18:07

Okay.

01:18:08

You—

01:18:08

Well, I'm a Glenn— I'm a Glentleman.

01:18:09

I saw a lot of people like— was it you or was it Gaz that was tweeting about Glenn?

01:18:15

I said I can't wait to watch Glenn Tapewatch this week.

01:18:18

Oh, so you are?

01:18:18

Yeah, you are.

01:18:19

You're a gentleman now.

01:18:21

No, but this week I will be.

01:18:22

OK, you're one week only. You're getting the one week pass. Yeah. Do you— sorry, Max, do they have a— do they have a pass just if you want to be a Glenn Tapewatch guy for one week only? Is there like— is like $99?

01:18:35

Oh yeah, this wasn't me that said suck my dick, PFT commenter and Glenn Tapewatch. That was Gaz. I probably—

01:18:42

Gaz and Hank are just one. They're just one and the same.

01:18:44

Yeah, that's, that's actually fair. Like, a lot of people think that Max is Glenn. A lot of people think that Gaz is Hank.

01:18:50

I haven't seen one heartbeat.

01:18:52

I haven't seen Gaz and Hank in the same room together.

01:18:54

No, neither have I.

01:18:55

Never.

01:18:56

Do you have anything else on the game?

01:18:59

Not really. I mean, there was— it was like a boring— yeah, it was fantastic watch.

01:19:03

It was— the Raiders can't run the ball. I feel like the Raiders, for Clint Kubiak to run his offense, they have to be able to run the ball. They could not run the ball today. They haven't been able to run the ball all season. And it was very like the Patriots just stuffed them.

01:19:14

Like thinking about this team with AJ Brown back, Matt Collins back, Christian Gonzalez back. Like it's, it's, it's exciting. It's exciting.

01:19:20

You're getting excited.

01:19:21

Yeah.

01:19:21

When is Christian Gonzalez getting back?

01:19:23

I'm not sure.

01:19:25

Because that's a big loss.

01:19:27

Yeah.

01:19:27

But you guys obviously didn't need him at all today.

01:19:29

No. And not next week either against the Jets.

01:19:35

So you are over— you're overlooking the Jets.

01:19:37

Those Bolton board material memes.

01:19:39

You're willing to— you're openly overlooking the Jets.

01:19:42

So I'm hearing it's the Jets.

01:19:44

Yes.

01:19:44

Wow.

01:19:44

It's the Jets.

01:19:45

Wow.

01:19:46

It's the Jets.

01:19:47

Okay.

01:19:48

What if you lose to the Jets?

01:19:52

You're my bitch.

01:19:53

Oh, yeah.

01:19:54

You'll be his bitch.

01:19:55

Oh, my pocket.

01:19:57

I don't know what—

01:19:58

I don't know what I'll do, but I think you have to be memes' servant.

01:20:01

Always have to be memes' bitch. He has to be able to use every one of your holes.

01:20:04

All of them.

01:20:07

Okay.

01:20:07

He could just be like, mouth, butt, ear. You just got to produce the holes.

01:20:17

Okay.

01:20:17

Okay.

01:20:18

Wow.

01:20:18

All right.

01:20:19

So you're that confident?

01:20:20

Yes. The Jets.

01:20:21

Whose line is it anyway? What's the— what's the line? I have no idea. Where's the game?

01:20:25

I looked at it. It's in New England.

01:20:27

Patriots, 7.5.

01:20:30

8.5.

01:20:32

Henry?

01:20:33

I know what it is.

01:20:34

What is it?

01:20:35

7.

01:20:35

7.

01:20:36

Okay.

01:20:37

Are you going to be taking that?

01:20:39

Minus 7? Yeah. Probably alternate line, minus 15.

01:20:44

Listen, I don't know why Hank, AKA Gaz, is upset with me. I bet on the Patriots the last 2 weeks ever since you turned it around.

01:20:53

I know. I love that. I'm happy for you.

01:20:55

I'm a believer.

01:20:56

I'm happy for us.

01:20:57

Yeah.

01:20:57

I'm not mad at you. I don't know what I've said today that has made you think that I'm mad at you.

01:21:01

I don't think you're mad at me. I thought that you were mad. I thought that you were mad at Glenn.

01:21:07

Did—

01:21:08

am I going crazy or did like 5 seconds ago you said, I don't know why Hank is mad at me?

01:21:12

Okay. I was, I was mixing you up with, with Gaz. Got it. Yeah.

01:21:18

Got it.

01:21:18

Gaz. Different guys.

01:21:20

Retweets are not endorsements.

01:21:22

Is that in your bio?

01:21:24

Uh, no, it's in mine. Um, after that Mount Rushmore controversy last year, had to put it in there. Okay. Uh, Hank, you'll forge yours if you have anything else in this game. It was just— yeah, it was, it was an absolute ass-kicking. And I do think the Raiders are like not bad. I mean, they just played the Chiefs to a game where they could have beaten the Chiefs. So it's not— I'm not going to say they're the Raiders from last year. That was just an ass kicking. It's hard to win in this league by a lot and they kicked their ass.

01:21:54

This team healthy can beat anyone.

01:21:56

Have you watched, have you watched any other film breakdowns that point to like maybe why Drake Maye is— because he looks like a different player than he did a couple of weeks ago.

01:22:04

In the last 2 hours?

01:22:07

Or just in the last week or so.

01:22:08

Yeah.

01:22:09

Because he looked great last week too.

01:22:11

I have not. No.

01:22:12

All right.

01:22:12

I'm just, I'm just curious, like, what changes have been made? Because He looks—

01:22:17

I think he's really getting more, more time to throw the ball.

01:22:19

Yeah, no, their protection was great. Okay. Steelers 34, Colts 22. Aaron Rodgers might be back. He didn't do the air yards. The air yards were still low. But Aaron Rodgers threw for 3 touchdowns. He's 3 straight games where he's had 3 or more touchdowns for the first time since 2021 when he won the MVP. He might be back.

01:22:44

Yeah.

01:22:44

Well, he's smiling.

01:22:45

Yep.

01:22:46

Jaylen Warren was phenomenal. He was incredible. Like 80-yard touchdown catch, 50-yard touchdown run, 188 total yards. Steelers offense had a little pop to it.

01:22:57

The last running back to have an 80-yard touchdown reception and a 50-yard touchdown run in the same game was Ambassador Herschel Walker.

01:23:05

Oh, wow.

01:23:06

I believe 1986.

01:23:08

Okay.

01:23:09

Did that. It was an awesome, awesome day for him.

01:23:11

Yep.

01:23:12

Darnell Washington also had a great game. There was one play where one guy just grabbed onto his foot and then 5 other guys came and tried to tackle him. And then eventually the refs just had to blow the whistle before he was tackled. That was awesome. And then he had the block of the day where he blocked a guy into another guy and then blocked that second guy into a third guy. And that's how it sprung Jaylen Warren.

01:23:32

Love that.

01:23:32

For the touchdown. Yeah.

01:23:33

The Colts, the story for this game for the Colts was they just could not do anything in the red zone. They had 3 field goals inside the pit 25, including one at the 10 and one at the 4. It's just like they would, they would move the ball and then got stuck. Jonathan Taylor. Oh, Michael Penix interception. Michael Penix interception.

01:23:54

Ravens. It was Tua.

01:23:56

Oh, that was Tua. Oh, that's very funny. Wait, did Michael Penix not come back? He came back in and then he did. And then he came back out.

01:24:04

He got his shit rocked on that sack.

01:24:09

Wow.

01:24:09

Tua. Tua. You knew he had it in him.

01:24:12

Yep.

01:24:13

Just when we doubted Tua.

01:24:14

That was gritty. That was a gritty win.

01:24:16

Yeah, that was.

01:24:17

Snoop.

01:24:21

All right. Back to— we'll talk about this game afterwards. So yeah, the Colts just couldn't score in the red zone. I don't really know what to make of the Colts. I also don't understand. I'm pretty sure that the league lets you take a bye week if you want after playing Overseas.

01:24:36

Yeah.

01:24:37

And you can elect to take it or not. I don't understand why teams don't take it no matter what.

01:24:41

Because the record is better.

01:24:43

Oh yeah, that's right. But it makes sense on the road too, though.

01:24:47

Yeah, on the road is different too. And I think that it depends where you play. Like, obviously, if I play— if I had my chance, my choice, and I played in like Australia, I'd be like, yeah, give me that bye week.

01:24:59

Right.

01:24:59

I don't think anyone— obviously you can't get a bye week week 2. But I think, yeah, they leave it up to the teams. Teams are better if they, if they don't take them.

01:25:05

I don't know.

01:25:06

Yeah. But yeah, I don't really know what to make of the Colts. Like, they can—

01:25:10

they desperately need Alec Pierce.

01:25:12

Yeah.

01:25:12

Which I don't—

01:25:12

that changes the entire offense when they have a legitimate, really, really strong downfield threat. And without him, the offense looks much different.

01:25:20

Yeah, I'd agree with that. And also Daniel Jones was— he leads the league in throwing bombs that just go like 10 yards over the middle. over someone's head out of bounds. So they don't get— they're not getting intercepted. They're just not even close, right? And, uh, Jeremy Bernard was awesome. He like— because the— that was the thing with, with Rodgers today. He played well, he looked young, and he also like, uh, who went out? Roman Wilson went out, and I think someone else has been out. So that he was throwing to, you know, like there's a lot of Friermuth, a lot of Jeremy Bernard. I don't know. Steelers, Steelers are a better team. My big conclusion from this game is the Steelers are a better team than the Colts. Obviously they beat them. And I still don't think the Steelers are a threat to anyone in the AFC.

01:26:07

So Aaron Rodgers threw his 581st career touchdown. 81st career touchdown. 81st career touchdown. That makes him 3rd all time now. Put him above Peyton Manning.

01:26:20

Yep.

01:26:21

And also the first Steelers quarterback to throw for 3 touchdowns 3 weeks in a row since Terry Bradshaw back in the day. So this is, this is as explosive as we've seen the Steelers offense in a very, very long time.

01:26:33

Yeah.

01:26:33

And I think the Steelers are just going to do this. They're going to go week to week. Their offense definitely has more pop than it did last year. Their defense probably isn't as good, although their defense stood up strong in the red zone. And the Steelers are going to win 9 or 10 games and probably losing the playoffs.

01:26:48

They might win a playoff game. They might win a playoff game. Happy birthday to TJ Watt.

01:26:53

Yes.

01:26:53

He got poked in the eye.

01:26:54

Yes.

01:26:55

Came back in. My theory was that he got hit on his nose and then he acted like it hit his eye so he could go to the sidelines and be allowed to put the visor on. That's what I would do if I was an NFL player.

01:27:05

The visor looked cool.

01:27:06

Yeah. Every play, just be like, oh, my eye. Let me put on this sick visor.

01:27:10

Who do the Colts play next? The, the Shane Steichen, he's a big— you were talking about it, Max, the Nick Sirianni looking in mirrors. Shane Steichen's a big, I got to do better.

01:27:21

Well, they get the Titans next week.

01:27:23

Oh, okay. So they're good.

01:27:25

Yep.

01:27:25

So the Colts will be back.

01:27:27

I'm in on Shane Steichen.

01:27:30

Oh, you want Shane Steichen?

01:27:31

I would love—

01:27:31

You want him back?

01:27:34

Shane Steichen was good.

01:27:35

Yeah.

01:27:35

Yeah.

01:27:36

He was a good coordinator for the Eagles.

01:27:37

I don't think that Shane Steichen is the problem. For the Colts.

01:27:41

But he—

01:27:42

and it's not like they're a terrible team.

01:27:45

Yeah, no, they're, they're an average team. But the problem is being an average team in the AFC is— being an average team in the NFC could get you in the playoffs. Being an average team in the AFC is going to be very difficult.

01:27:55

We were deep throating the guy for the first 8 weeks of last year. He was— the Colts looked awesome through 8 weeks last year. So I think he's a good coach. There's some other things around him that I don't think are optimal.

01:28:07

They get the Titans next week.

01:28:08

Yeah.

01:28:09

Yeah.

01:28:09

So it's a bye week.

01:28:10

Yeah.

01:28:11

And Jaylen Warren, the big story is Jaylen Warren deserves more respect. It's not like an aberration. He's just good. And he's, he's got, he's got some juice to him where he gets the ball and he's, he's elusive and it's, it's fun to watch, which is always a jarring thing in a Steelers uniform. Okay. Memes. Jets 17, Browns 12. The Browns fell into the trap game.

01:28:37

Dude, the Browns browned and they browned. Browns out-browned the Jets jetting.

01:28:44

Yeah.

01:28:44

If that makes any sense.

01:28:46

Dom, my assistant. So he, remember he said this is avoid the trap game. I told him afterwards you fell in the trap and he said, no, we didn't. We got beat by rain.

01:28:56

Yeah, they lost.

01:28:57

The rain wasn't part of the deal.

01:28:58

The Browns lost.

01:29:00

Yeah.

01:29:00

How come every time the Browns play the Jets in the Meadowlands, it's just the worst possible weather?

01:29:07

A bunch of players were saying that today too, that it just only rains on Sundays in New Jersey.

01:29:13

Yeah.

01:29:14

I have a question for you, Memes.

01:29:16

Yes, sir.

01:29:17

Where—

01:29:17

so you beat the Browns. Where would you say this ranks in terms of Jets wins?

01:29:24

I know where you're going with this.

01:29:25

So where would you personally say this is? Hank, you're going to want to listen to this.

01:29:29

I'm listening.

01:29:31

Where would you, where would you say it ranks?

01:29:33

Historically, I'd say it's one of the biggest.

01:29:35

Okay. Yeah. Because DeMario Davis said, I would go as far as to say this was a historic win for this organization.

01:29:45

It could be. They could never lose. They could never lose again.

01:29:48

Should actually say that after every game because you never know where it's going to go. This could be a historic podcast.

01:29:54

I think it is.

01:29:55

Yeah. No, I'm saying this episode.

01:29:58

Maybe.

01:29:59

No, but we don't know where it's going. What if we all die tomorrow? That would make this historic.

01:30:07

That's true.

01:30:08

Something to think about. That's kind of what Tamario Davis is going for. He's like, I'm gonna make a bet the Jets were gonna win the Super Bowl this year. And I'm gonna say this win is historic.

01:30:18

Well, he's right to a certain extent, because like, Historically, they lose that game every single time.

01:30:23

Yeah.

01:30:23

Yeah.

01:30:23

Like Geno Smith fumbling at the 50, like Browns get that, go get a touchdown. But like they didn't. And they held them off.

01:30:30

Browns.

01:30:31

Yeah.

01:30:31

Well, it was— yeah, it was 3-1. That was one team that— that's true. 3-1 team put some respect on them. They just won the Game of the Century less than 10 days ago. Yeah. The sequence of the Browns up 12-10, getting the fumble with 4 minutes left. Being like, the Browns are going to win this game. They're going to, you know, that, that pass. Who was that to? Denzel Boston. That was a nice pass from, from Deshaun Watson. Their offense kind of woke up at the end. So you're like, all right, the Browns have the ball, game's over. They just got the ball. They're just going to, you know, run the ball. They go 3 and out and then just sky it over Bijorkas's head. And the Jets win the game. Braelon Allen. Braelon Allen was awesome.

01:31:18

Yeah, they should have just been going to him the entire time.

01:31:20

I—

01:31:21

when they played the Packers, they didn't run the ball enough. And even today, they didn't run the ball enough. Like, Aaron Glenn figured out on defense how to call a game in the rain and just blitz nonstop. But like, Frank Reich still hasn't. But, uh, they squeaked one out. Yes, PFD.

01:31:38

Uh, yeah, Memes, I have a question for you about certain things that some Browns fans have been saying regarding Minkah Fitzpatrick.

01:31:45

Yes.

01:31:46

Is he a dirty player, and/or does he just hate the Browns?

01:31:50

I don't believe so.

01:31:52

I think he had this one hit against, uh, Concepcion, looked to be helmet to helmet. Now granted, Concepcion kind of like ducked his head as he turned. I don't know that Minkah was going for his head, but there's a history. I guess he also took out Nick Chubb too.

01:32:07

That's what they were saying, but that was, that was a clean hit. Like, what's he supposed to do, not hit him?

01:32:13

Which one?

01:32:14

Today.

01:32:15

Yeah, I think that it was like a bang-bang play where receiver kind of moved his head kind of into the strike zone.

01:32:23

Yeah, that was just a football hit.

01:32:25

It was bad though. Like, it's a bad concussion.

01:32:28

I don't want to say get your weight up, but like, he should get his weight up.

01:32:31

Oh, okay. All right.

01:32:32

Okay. I agree with you, Memes, that Aaron Glenn called a great game. Blitz the fuck out of him. David Bailey was awesome. I feel like every time we looked up, he was either chasing, he was either getting a sack, getting a pressure, or Deshaun was trying to scramble and he was like running him down. He was sick.

01:32:52

Yeah, David Bailey is awesome. He, he's been getting some slack online. And he also hasn't seen that because I don't think he has internet, which is, which is awesome.

01:33:00

Yeah.

01:33:01

So it was just a really good bounce back week from him because there's, there's On the other side of town, there's Arvell Reese who's been popping off. So people are saying David Bailey might have been a miss. But today was a phenomenal bounce back.

01:33:13

Yeah, he had 3 sacks, 9 pressures. Like you said, Aaron Glenn blitzed the fuck out of the Browns, which was a smart game plan, especially when Concepcion went out. And by the way, I know this is a meatball thing, but Isaiah Bond, you have to put on gloves when you keep dropping the ball. in the rain. You cannot just— you cannot be— it's the same with Cam Scataville with the fumble. You cannot be the guy without gloves on in the rain and fuck it up. If you catch everything and you have no gloves on, fine. The minute you drop one pass and you have no gloves on, you got to put the gloves on immediately. You just can't. You can't be seen like that.

01:33:53

It's too easy. Too easy to point at. Yeah.

01:33:55

Yeah. It's just so easy.

01:33:56

My favorite drive of the week was in this game. It was a 5-play drive by the Browns. It was after kickoff in the 4th quarter. Jets were leading 10 to 6 and it went incompletion, 30-yard completion, 5-yard penalty, sack for minus 10 yards, 5-yard penalty, incompletion, sack for minus 8 yards, punt.

01:34:21

Hmm.

01:34:22

It was a 5-play drive, 2 minutes, 29 seconds with a 30-yard completion that gained 2 yards. Before the punt.

01:34:31

Browns out— Browns out-jetted the Jets. Is that what you said?

01:34:36

Yeah, I'm trying to find a better way to say it.

01:34:38

The Browns out— the Browns Charger'd despite the Jets Falconing.

01:34:47

Correct.

01:34:48

Okay.

01:34:48

Well, no, the Jets didn't have a big enough lead to Falcon. It was a close game. Throughout.

01:34:57

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out a different way to put it.

01:35:00

I think that's pretty clear.

01:35:00

I think it's just the Browns— the Browns browning was stronger than the Jets jetsing today. Yes, that's like—

01:35:06

it was—

01:35:07

yeah, their force was stronger. And, and Braylon Allen and Garrett Wilson, uh, they had 220 of the 276 yards the Jets had on offense today. They were awesome.

01:35:17

Yeah, that first drive was sick. I thought we were gonna score a million points.

01:35:20

I did too. I did too.

01:35:22

So are we pumping the brakes on Todd Monken to the Hall of Fame?

01:35:25

Yeah, I never put him in the Hall of Fame. I would say we're good for right now.

01:35:29

I had him in the Hall of Fame.

01:35:30

Yeah. Yeah.

01:35:31

I think he dropped a frick in the— oh yeah. He said, we all got to take a big frickin bite out of this because it's not good enough.

01:35:37

I love that.

01:35:39

I love that quote.

01:35:40

Also, apparently there's another, another TV show about the Browns, about a fictional Browns team.

01:35:45

Okay.

01:35:46

It's Christopher Meloni from Law and Order, the like She's 18, you sick fuck.

01:35:50

You know that guy?

01:35:51

Yeah.

01:35:52

I guess he plays the head coach of the Browns. Oh, in a show that's just coming out right now. I think it's called The Land.

01:35:59

About Cleveland.

01:36:01

And yeah, and his son is like the Ohio State quarterback.

01:36:03

That's pretty cool.

01:36:04

And he tries to draft his son.

01:36:06

What was that noise, Hank?

01:36:07

Who wants a show about Cleveland?

01:36:10

Hank, you watch Draft Day TV show? Hey, Roger Goodell's in it. All your favorites.

01:36:15

Hank, we had a nice time in Cleveland that one time we went.

01:36:18

Can I make—

01:36:19

I've been a bunch of times. But remember that one time we went? We walked around. It was a beautiful sunny day. It was the Jake Paul fight.

01:36:26

I wasn't there.

01:36:27

Yeah.

01:36:27

I mean, how are you going to have a great time if there's one team I've never seen draft to have Christopher Meloni from Law and Order play coach?

01:36:34

We've talked about it on this show so many times.

01:36:38

I'm just thinking about the scene with him and Deshaun Watson. Like, how's that going to go?

01:36:42

No, you missed what Hank said. Oh, sorry.

01:36:44

I was just locked in on that fantasy.

01:36:45

What was Andy Moore?

01:36:47

Hank, say it again.

01:36:48

There's too many conversations.

01:36:50

I agree. But it's— we got to focus on what Hank just tried to reveal to us.

01:36:55

I've been holding this in for a long time. I probably should have just done it at some point. I've never seen Draft Day.

01:37:00

I think you have homework.

01:37:01

Yeah, you got to see it. You got to see Draft Day, Hank. It's so— it's so good.

01:37:07

You're not missing much.

01:37:08

Oh, whoa.

01:37:10

That's fucked up.

01:37:11

Draft Day is an excellent film.

01:37:12

Excellent film. And I've never said that it would be one of the worst movies ever made if it didn't have official NFL logos in it. I've never said that.

01:37:20

But because it does— You hate Aaron.

01:37:23

Yeah, you do.

01:37:23

I love Aaron.

01:37:23

He's in it.

01:37:25

It's also— yeah, wild character.

01:37:27

He plays one of the main characters.

01:37:27

Wildly fictional, too, because it's the Wisconsin quarterbacks going 1-1 overall and also the Cleveland Browns having a functional front office.

01:37:36

They do. They fucking hose the Jaguars in that movie.

01:37:39

Yeah, big time.

01:37:40

That GM, he's— they should fire him.

01:37:42

Spoiler. He's got to watch.

01:37:43

Yeah, you should watch it.

01:37:44

You got to watch memes next week. What are you thinking after a historic win?

01:37:50

After a historic win, season's back on. If you win the game, you're 3-3. The Patriots are 3-3. You control your own destiny in the division. Wow. Fact or fiction?

01:38:03

Fact.

01:38:03

Hank, the amount that Hank is like considering the Jets as a worthy adversary is less than zero.

01:38:12

Correct. Welcome to this podcast.

01:38:14

Yeah, no, I know.

01:38:15

It's like if I'm speaking freely, we've never— we don't go in there and win.

01:38:19

Yeah, ever.

01:38:21

But now—

01:38:22

and we—

01:38:22

but now Ben Johnson's your coach.

01:38:25

Ben Johnson is our coach.

01:38:26

But like, yeah, you got all Ben Johnson's powers. Aaron Glenn doing the flag, the red flag, the challenge flag was very funny.

01:38:34

Yeah.

01:38:34

All-time GIF.

01:38:35

I love him. I know some Jets fans won't like that. I love him.

01:38:38

I think he might be turning the corner. I mean, Dan Campbell didn't do it in one year.

01:38:45

Yeah, that's true. There's a lot of comparisons to him.

01:38:49

Yeah. He called a great game today. He's building the culture.

01:38:54

The 2022 Lions, they started what, 1-7?

01:38:56

Yeah. They're really bad.

01:38:57

Really finished 9-8.

01:38:59

Yeah. Yeah.

01:39:00

So might be, might be things might be turning. Okay. Next up, Bengals 31, Dolphins 24. What was that?

01:39:10

They basically lost. They gave the game away. They got lucky because it was the Browns. If they had lost the game, which they should have lost the game, it would not be things have turned the corner. You're only saying that because at the end of the day, they won. Correct. But like, They never play good. No, I know. But like the—

01:39:30

I play the results. Yeah. Defense played good.

01:39:35

You know what? It was, it was a torrential downpour.

01:39:37

You just need to let people enjoy these things.

01:39:39

Gale force winds.

01:39:41

Let memes enjoy this.

01:39:42

You guys are gonna be able to settle it on the field.

01:39:44

Yeah, I agree. That game sucked. I wasted 3 hours watching that shit. There was 2 good drives and one of them was half a drive, which was at the end of the game. That was a Braylon Allen touchdown.

01:39:54

Yeah, it was a Braylon Allen run.

01:39:56

And that was, that was it.

01:39:57

Like in the first drive of the game.

01:39:58

Yeah. In the first drive of the game. Everything in between was dog shit.

01:40:01

Then they never went back to Garrett Wilson or saying he calls him Garrett Allen.

01:40:05

Well, yeah. The Browns made adjustments, which smart.

01:40:07

Yeah.

01:40:08

But everybody is coming back next week.

01:40:10

Everyone.

01:40:11

Everyone.

01:40:11

Who?

01:40:12

Omar Cooper, Breece Hall.

01:40:14

Oh, that's actually good.

01:40:15

Left guard, Adonai Mitchell. We're coming.

01:40:19

They're coming and they're probably right now sitting at home listening to Hank. This is bulletin board material for their ears.

01:40:25

Bring it.

01:40:25

You just call him Adnan Mitchell. And I like the guy from cereal.

01:40:29

I'm going to put the Jets in my, in my hungry dog.

01:40:32

Is that guy still in jail?

01:40:34

Yeah, I think so.

01:40:35

Oh, can you imagine?

01:40:36

And then Syed.

01:40:37

Yeah.

01:40:37

Did the woman ever say that she was in love?

01:40:40

Yeah, she was clearly in love with him.

01:40:41

Yeah.

01:40:41

What were you going to say?

01:40:42

Can you imagine if they win next week?

01:40:45

That emergency pod.

01:40:47

Crazy.

01:40:50

He's just still—

01:40:51

he's still eye rolling.

01:40:53

It's literally like saying, well, it's an emergency pod.

01:40:55

Like, we every— that's it.

01:40:56

Every time you're saying imagine if the Jets beat— Hank is treating it like someone saying imagine if the sun didn't rise tomorrow.

01:41:05

Yeah, we'd be in trouble.

01:41:07

Well, how bad would it be if the Jets beat you?

01:41:12

Horrible.

01:41:12

Season's over.

01:41:13

Oh, so you'd have to— done with the season mentally, like tank. Yeah.

01:41:22

Change the name, change everything.

01:41:25

And you'd be his bitch for a week.

01:41:26

Yeah.

01:41:27

It's a franchise. Oh, no, no, no.

01:41:28

It'd be longer.

01:41:30

Well, until you played again.

01:41:31

No.

01:41:32

Oh, winning in Foxborough.

01:41:34

But then he would come potentially win in Jersey.

01:41:37

Yeah, but we stink. Okay.

01:41:39

All right. Yeah, sure.

01:41:40

Bengals 31, Dolphins 24.

01:41:43

Ass kicking.

01:41:44

Yeah.

01:41:45

I'll say that the Dolphins— Nicky Smokes, our coworker who's a Dolphins fan, he did put a point out that they're not the worst 0-4 team. And then we're like— or he said they're the best 0-4 team.

01:41:56

Yeah.

01:41:56

And then we're like, what about the Texans? The Texans were about to win their first game. He's like, well, they weren't supposed to be 0-4. And he's like, we're like, what about the Chargers? Like, well, they weren't supposed to be 0-4. So he's basically saying the Dolphins are better than Titans.

01:42:09

I agree.

01:42:09

Yeah, he's right. He's right. They're, they're the only true good 0-5 team, right?

01:42:14

They're tanking perfectly. They have a lot of young talent. The young talent plays hard, ethical. Their, uh, coach seems to know what he's doing generally. And Malik Willis is just not very good.

01:42:27

And well, is Malik Willis not good or Was he just tipping pitches?

01:42:32

Maybe he was tipping pitches.

01:42:33

Because Battle, like publicly before the game, said, yeah, he's got a tell. Here's what his tell is. We're watching that. We're going to be able to get the jump on him.

01:42:42

Wow.

01:42:42

And then that's exactly what he did. I think he had 2 picks on Willis.

01:42:46

He had 2. Yeah, he had—

01:42:48

Or did he have 1 interception?

01:42:50

I think he had 1, but Malik Willis threw more interceptions than completions with 1 minute left in the first half. He had more interceptions than completions. So he had one, one completion going into halftime there.

01:43:05

Oh yeah. Yeah. Battle, Battle picked them off both on back-to-back drives in the second quarter.

01:43:09

Yeah. So he did have a tell.

01:43:11

So maybe just we fix that and then we fix the Dolphins.

01:43:14

The Bengals are going into the bye for the first time with a winning record since 2022. I know their bye has changed where it's been, but good for the Bengals. I still think they have to figure out how to run the ball because you saw it at the end of the game. The Dolphins had an all-time backdoor cover in this game or backdoor push. Should have been a backdoor cover. Missed the Extra point. Yeah, so that was basically our big witching hour gambling switch that was happening. And, uh, so that to me is like watching that game, the Bengals just, they couldn't, they couldn't fully put the Dolphins away just because they couldn't just get first downs running the ball. Ja'Marr Chase also made just an insane, insane touchdown catch. He's, he's so good.

01:43:56

Yeah, he's, he's very back.

01:43:58

Yeah.

01:43:59

So I think the, I think the Bengals are in a good spot going into the bye. Then they have the Ravens. So the big, big like test on what the Bengals are.

01:44:07

The, the Bengals, they're crazy healthy.

01:44:10

Yeah.

01:44:11

This is like the good— I, you know what, I'm going to stop talking because I feel like if I say anything else, it's a big time jinx of them.

01:44:16

Yeah.

01:44:17

So I'm just going to say it's nice to see the Bengals playing with their best players.

01:44:20

Yeah.

01:44:21

They're very good.

01:44:23

Joe Burrow got a little— I think he's, I think he's kind of like He didn't like the media anymore. No, I like this. He said the reporter asked, how hot was it? And he said, I don't know. I'm sure you can check the weather report, man. I like that response.

01:44:35

It's like Bart Simpson.

01:44:36

I mean, it is true. Like, there's a temperature on your phone.

01:44:39

Yeah.

01:44:40

So asking Joe Burrow after the game, how hot was it, is a pretty big waste of your question.

01:44:45

Yeah. Why don't you— why don't you look at the Weather Channel, man?

01:44:47

Yeah. Check out the Weather Channel. All right. Let's keep moving because these are the noncompetitive games that we saw. Next non-competitive game, Vikings 23, Saints 13. Big stories, the Vikings offense looked good for the first time, uh, this season. Kyler looked good. He started the game 12 for 12, was running, so cute running. Justin Jefferson made an insane catch, touchdown catch, and the Vikings defense had Tyler Shuck in absolute hell. Our boy's going through it, Max. He's going through it.

01:45:20

Yeah.

01:45:21

It was not good.

01:45:22

But hey, listen, he's still, he's still a young quarterback. You got to go through, through some adversity at this point in your career. It's all about how he bounces back.

01:45:31

That's true. Did I read right that Flores blitzed 90% of the time today?

01:45:37

I don't think so. I think he blitzed 61%.

01:45:39

61% of the time?

01:45:40

Yeah.

01:45:41

That's it. The Vikings defense is so good.

01:45:43

Like, you want some crazy Vikings defense stats? Uh, let's see. I had them all written down. Hold on. I got to pull them up. The Vikings. Hold on. Oh, there was some Kellen Moore bad stats. Kellen Moore's got to figure it out. They, uh, he's coached 22 games for the Saints. They have 1 first quarter lead, 4 first half leads. They start every game slow. It's crazy watching them start these games. It just—

01:46:14

it—

01:46:14

they just keep putting themselves in holes. And when you're playing a team like the Vikings, you got no chance of getting out of that hole because they're so fucking good. Oh, here it is. The Vikings defense has allowed 3 touchdowns since halftime of the opener. That's 4 and a half games. They've allowed 3 touchdowns. 3 touchdowns. Uh, opposing offenses' 3rd down conversions against the Minnesota Vikings defense this year. 14 for 63, 22%. That's insane. 22% teams are, are converting on, on 3rd down against the Vikings defense. They are so good. And Kyler again played really well. So now you see like the full picture. It's like, oh shit, this team could be very scary if their offense comes along. And I think even Addison went out, Hockenson got a concussion. So it was basically, it was basically just throwing it up to Justin Jefferson. I don't know, man. That's, that was impressive. They, they, they had the Saints in absolute hell.

01:47:16

Yeah. There was one moment where it looked like things were turning around for the Saints. Chase Young got that fumble, ran back with it, and it was like, oh, well, it might be frisky. And then absolutely nothing. It's just been a couple of weeks of terrible vibes in the dome.

01:47:30

Yeah.

01:47:30

Bad times in the dome. Shucks said, I'd boo too. Like he understands, like, that sucks. Mm-hmm.

01:47:37

Yeah, he was lost.

01:47:37

On Drew Brees night.

01:47:39

Today was Drew Brees night?

01:47:40

It was Drew Brees night tonight.

01:47:41

Whoa.

01:47:42

So they inducted him into the Ring of Honor, which I was kind of surprised that he wasn't already. But I guess they were like, maybe he'll come back.

01:47:48

Maybe. Yeah.

01:47:48

Maybe that's when it's real. That's when it's like, we're not— we're not ever getting him back.

01:47:51

He's finally retired?

01:47:52

Yeah.

01:47:53

Yeah.

01:47:53

But yeah, I was impressed. Kyler looking good scared me. He ran the ball well too today. He ran it 10 times for 51 yards. And he, again, he looks so cute running, but when Kyler starts to run now, it's like, uh-oh, he might be feeling— I think it was his best game, I saw the stats, since like 2024.

01:48:10

He's getting used to it. Yeah, yeah, he's getting used to being back out there.

01:48:13

Okay, uh, last game from the early slate, Texans 26, Titans 3. I feel like we just don't have to talk about the Titans anymore, right?

01:48:22

I—

01:48:22

the only note I had here was I feel like it was kind of fucked up of DeMeco Ryan to pick this as the game that he was taking, uh, back control of defensive play calling. That's such a layup.

01:48:34

Yeah.

01:48:35

You know what I mean? He's like, yeah, we—

01:48:37

I—

01:48:37

he's like, I need to get back in charge of the defense. Oh shit, we're playing the Titans. Okay, I guess I'll do it for this week.

01:48:43

Well, yeah, it's a really easy one. It's a real easy one for— today was just a great day for him. He's like, I'm gonna get to call the plays against this defense, and then afterwards I'm gonna go to the podium And I'm going to talk about how we just got Marvin Harrison.

01:48:55

So let's talk about the Marvin Harrison thing, because Adam Schefter, one of the weirdest tweets on— was it Saturday morning when he's like, Marvin Harrison has been traded? Yeah, but just didn't say where.

01:49:08

And he very— he's been doing this for a couple of years, Big Cat. He knows that some people have notifications on for his tweets and he knows exactly where they cut off. And so on the notification, has been traded, and then dot dot dot.

01:49:24

Yeah.

01:49:24

Then you open it up and it's just like, that's the end of the story.

01:49:27

So we're— we got a lot of things. We write this down, Zach, because we got a lot of things we got to talk to Adam Schefter about when we see him at the Combine. Yeah, he's— he reported— what was the initial tweet? It was Saturday morning.

01:49:38

Yeah, I'm looking for it.

01:49:41

It was so weird. But I will say Maybe— here it is, breaking— the Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a deal to trade Marvin Harrison, sources tell me and Rap Sheet. The team informed Harrison this morning that he would be inactive for Sunday's game versus Detroit as details of the trade are finalized. Just nothing about where.

01:50:02

Nothing.

01:50:02

So I have a question for you guys. Were the Titans— or the— sorry, the Texans— basically like, hey, we're gonna trade for Marvin Harrison if we beat the Titans. Like, we're 0-4. If we can't beat the Titans, the season's over.

01:50:20

We can't be taking this on.

01:50:21

Yeah, right. When we beat the Titans, we'll then do the trade. Yeah, I think that's what happened.

01:50:25

I think, I think that's exactly what happened.

01:50:28

That's so funny.

01:50:28

And yeah, because— and they're not wrong. Yeah, no, they're like, if they'd lost, if they'd lost to the Titans, they should pack it up, right?

01:50:35

They were like, we got to test this thing out. Yeah, like, let's just make sure that we're not really, really bad. As soon as we— as soon as we get the answer, we'll let you know.

01:50:44

We'll do the trade.

01:50:44

Yep.

01:50:45

And that's exactly what happened.

01:50:46

That's—

01:50:47

I also— am I crazy? I think I'm just a sucker for, like, you know, rekindling. But CJ Stroud and Marvin Harrison, I think it's going to work.

01:50:55

I think—

01:50:56

and you know what? It's Columbus Day. 2 Buckeyes getting back together.

01:51:00

Yep. CJ Stroud looks good. I mean, he hit— 7 guys had at least 2 catches. Oh, I had one Titans thing. Cam Ward. I mean, I'm done with Cam Ward. Here's the stat that, that sums up why I'm done with Cam Ward. He had in the first half, he had 0 passes completed over 10 air yards, but he also had 2 pass attempts under 2.5 seconds released. So he's holding on to the ball and still not throwing it deep. Yeah, it's terrible to watch.

01:51:31

Yeah. So he, um, Here's one good thing for the Titans. Last year, the Titans played against the Texans and they lost 26 to nothing. This year, 26 to 3.

01:51:43

Okay.

01:51:43

So it's improvement.

01:51:44

Okay.

01:51:45

Salah also called the Texans the best 0-4 team in NFL history. Okay. So there's that, which we'll have to go through the all-time rankings and get back to him on what that is.

01:51:56

Yeah.

01:51:57

By the way, he's also not benching Cam Ward. He said he's our starter.

01:52:00

Okay. That's good. Uh, the history of top 5 overall draft picks traded within the first 3 seasons, not exactly great. So Trey Lance, Trent Richardson, Aaron Curry— remember him, Wake Forest? Uh, that—

01:52:15

and by the way, Aaron Curry was the one thing everyone said about him, this is the safest pick that you will ever see made in the top.

01:52:21

Yeah, yep. And then, uh, Gaines Adams. Those are all the, the, the 4 that have happened in the last 25 years. So Maybe CJ Stroud and Marvin Harrison back together will, will do it.

01:52:33

I do think that this could be, I don't know, because I'm of the mindset that Marvin Harrison Jr. didn't forget how to play wide receiver because he was, it didn't look like that when he was in college.

01:52:44

You know what doesn't help him either? The fact that Jeremiah Smith is so good.

01:52:48

That's true. Because everyone's like, he's so much better.

01:52:51

I don't think that helps Marvin Harrison. It doesn't help Jeremiah Smith.

01:52:54

Oh no, I think Jeremiah Smith.

01:52:56

Marvin Harrison. was unbelievable.

01:52:59

Jeremiah Smith.

01:53:00

It looked different when he was in college. Like he, he ran crisp. It was like sharp turns, CJ Stroud, change of pace, explosiveness.

01:53:08

No CJ Stroud.

01:53:09

Yeah. So like he did not, I don't think he forgot how to play football. I think for whatever reason, something went wrong. And maybe it's like just what we're seeing with college athletes now. You get paid in college, then you go to the pros. Football is not as fun anymore for you. And you get bummed out and you play for a shitty team sometimes. For whatever reason, it just didn't work in Arizona. And I do think that a change of pace might help him out.

01:53:33

Yeah, I'd agree. It's a good move by the Texans.

01:53:36

They need—

01:53:37

the better their offense is, like, we know their defense is going to round into shape, especially with DeMeco Ryans. I mean, look, he called the plays for one game. They gave up 3 points.

01:53:47

Will Anderson Jr. had an amazing game.

01:53:49

Yeah, their defense is awesome. And the Texans or the Titans do not have a real offense. Cam Ward, Titans fans, tell me if I'm wrong. Like, are you done with him?

01:53:59

I feel like, I feel like you got to be done with him. Yeah. Yes. Big picture. Yes. But also, if you're the Titans, you realize that playing the rest of the season with Cam Ward.

01:54:11

Oh yeah.

01:54:11

Is also the right thing to do.

01:54:13

Yeah.

01:54:13

Yeah.

01:54:13

No, I'm not saying not playing him this year, but like, you have to look—

01:54:16

Done believing that That he will be the future of the team.

01:54:18

Next year might be, let's draft a quarterback.

01:54:21

I think that this is— it's at that point where even, yeah, even the most optimistic Titans fans, they just, they understand.

01:54:29

All right.

01:54:29

01:56:24

Okay. Broncos 23, Chargers 17. Cardiac Broncos back. Comeback kids. They were down 17-10 in the fourth quarter. And then big stupid pick guy showed up.

01:56:38

It was partially big stupid pick guy, partially, uh, stupid fumble guy. Big stupid didn't get 4th and 1 guy.

01:56:46

Yeah. So the Chargers had 5 possessions in the, in the 4th quarter. Uh, they went punt, turnover on downs, fumble, pick, sack to end the game.

01:56:56

Yeah.

01:56:57

Their O-line is such a mess. I know that.

01:56:59

Very bad.

01:57:00

Justin Herbert also looks Like, I mean, he had no one to— I actually, you know what, I'm not gonna put this on him.

01:57:06

Oh, anyone does make excuses for Justin Herbert. No, no, no.

01:57:08

He's been bad this year. I'm actually not gonna blame this one on him just because— hold on. The fumble I blame on him. The pick was 4th and 6. He had to try to do something. He literally had no one to throw to and the offensive line sucked. But the fumble was— the fumble is what lost him the game. They were— all you had to do was take a sack there and punt it away because the Chargers defense is playing really well. Broncos offense still sucks. Sean Payton took it over. The numbers somehow got worse. But yeah, the, the pick, the big stupid pick that wasn't as stupid as like it was 4th and 6. He had to just throw it.

01:57:44

The Chargers outgained the Broncos 237 to 224. They outrushed Denver 155 to 106. They held the ball longer. The Broncos went 1 for 12 on 3rd downs. And, uh, still found a way to win the game. And Sean Payton kicking that field goal on the 1-yard line was like some chicken shit football, but it's also very disrespectful that he was like, yeah, we'll take the 3 points from the 1 because that's how little faith I have.

01:58:09

Yeah.

01:58:10

In Justin Herbert to do anything good right now.

01:58:11

I actually thought it was the correct move because like they're— the Chargers are not gonna— they had the Kamani Vidal run and like, like the Chargers aren't gonna be able to get down the field. Their offense is such a a broken piece of shit. And Justin Herbert does deserve a lot of blame, but that—

01:58:25

the pick—

01:58:26

I'm just not calling him a big stupid pick guy. He's a big stupid fumble guy this week. The fumble was bad.

01:58:31

It was kind of a stupid pick.

01:58:32

Well, it's 4th and 6. You gotta throw it.

01:58:34

Yeah, you gotta throw it. You gotta chuck it down there.

01:58:35

You just—

01:58:36

you can't—

01:58:37

it did—

01:58:37

it didn't—

01:58:38

like, the stupid pick last week was a banner, banner weekend in stupid picks.

01:58:42

Yeah.

01:58:42

The first one that he's— he's been bad. Justin Herbert's been bad this year.

01:58:46

There—

01:58:47

it's also true that everybody around him is currently in the morgue.

01:58:51

Do you think— are we worried at all about Jim Harbaugh's mental health?

01:58:56

Yes. Yes.

01:58:57

He's lost 8 straight football games.

01:58:59

Yes. That's never happened.

01:59:01

8 straight.

01:59:01

Well, it has when he was a player.

01:59:04

But yeah, but not as a coach.

01:59:05

Not as a coach.

01:59:06

Yeah. Yes.

01:59:06

8 straight.

01:59:07

I'm very worried about him. They asked him like what the message was for a team that's 0-5 and he just goes, I don't know.

01:59:14

And guess what? They have to play the Chiefs off a bye.

01:59:17

This is when they turn around.

01:59:18

Yep.

01:59:20

Andy Reid off a bye.

01:59:21

The fact that the Chargers didn't cover this game is insane. They were up 17-10. They were +3.5. They were up 17-10 in the 4th quarter and the Broncos couldn't do anything. The Broncos got worse offensively with Sean Payton. It's crazy. Yeah, I still don't know what to make The Broncos are 3-2. I don't really understand them at all. Like, I don't think they're good, but they keep finding ways to win games. If they beat the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football, then I'm just like, I'll just throw my hands up and be like, this team's just magic.

01:59:52

There's just something about the 4th quarter and Bo Nix.

01:59:54

Yeah, I mean, he didn't push the ball down the field much at all again today, but he just—

02:00:00

they figure out a way to call the perfect play at the perfect time.

02:00:03

To win the game.

02:00:04

To win the game. And that's all the game-winning play that's happened for the last 2 years. It just continues to happen. I don't know what it is. Even Broncos fans probably don't think that there's not a, like, there's not a whole lot of confidence because they haven't reached that part in the season yet where they just say, let go, close your eyes and trust that everything's going to work out because it always does. But it's, it's getting to that point where I'm about to just say 4th quarter, if it's within 1 score. Just, yeah, let, let Bo Nix take the wheel and good things are going to happen.

02:00:33

Yeah. Yeah.

02:00:34

Okay.

02:00:35

Should we go Lions 45, Cardinals 21? This was everything I've ever said about Jacoby Brissett. If you didn't watch the game, Jacoby Brissett was 6 for 8, 58 yards, a touchdown on the first drive. He was 7 for 12, 60 yards, a touchdown on the last drive. And in between, he was garbage. It was the perfect Jacoby Brissett game.

02:00:56

Yeah. Well, they also ran a sick Philly special.

02:00:59

Yeah.

02:00:59

On 4th and 1.

02:01:00

Yeah.

02:01:01

Whereas Michael Wilson throwing to Brissett for like a 4-yard gain. Got the first down.

02:01:05

Yeah.

02:01:05

That was the hardest I've seen a team work to get 4 yards. But yeah, it worked.

02:01:09

And the Lions defense played well. I know it's against the Cardinals offense, but they played well. Lions offense was awesome. It felt like everyone— like Gibbs was incredible. He is incredible. He had more yards from scrimmage in the first half than the Cardinals did as a team. Laporta was sick. Jamo got going. It felt like the Lions full offense like woke up today and they, they like, they started a little slow again. But then once they found their gear, it was just off. Yeah, it was over at halftime.

02:01:38

They haven't scored a touchdown in the first quarter yet this year.

02:01:42

Did they not score one? I don't think they did.

02:01:44

Did they? I think they— I know going into today they didn't have one when you were talking about like their slow start.

02:01:49

Yeah. No, they have been starting slow.

02:01:51

Yeah.

02:01:51

Down 7-nothing today.

02:01:52

Yeah. Down 7-nothing. And then the second quarter they scored 24. They went off. Yeah.

02:01:57

Wow.

02:01:58

Gibbs. Yeah, you're right. Great. Absolutely outstanding game by Gibbs. Gibbs has now tied Barry Sanders for most scrimmage yards or most scrimmage touchdowns before turning 25 in NFL history. He's with 57.

02:02:12

He's so sick.

02:02:12

And he scored 58 shortly after that. Yeah, I just saw the update. Now he's at 58. So he surpassed Barry Sanders on that list.

02:02:20

Also, if you want to just like, if you're a fan of awesome catches, Trey McBride might have had the best touchdown catch that meant absolutely nothing in a blowout loss. He like tipped it to himself, got his feet in bounds, and, and somehow like hovered over the defender and got control before he was pushed out to cut the lead to 45-21.

02:02:43

Mm-hmm.

02:02:45

With like 5 minutes left in the game. It was a sick catch. That's it. So that's all I got.

02:02:52

Dan Campbell asked for 35 points at a minimum to win this game.

02:02:55

And he got it. And he's done with less.

02:02:58

He's realistic. He's realistic because I'm sure that if they'd scored 31 points, they would have found a way to screw something up in the, in the 4th quarter. But yeah, the defense, I don't know. Did the defense look better or were they just playing the Cardinals?

02:03:10

Yeah, that's probably a little bit of both. I mean, they did get 5 sacks, I think. So that's, that's at least something.

02:03:17

But yeah, I think that Jacoby Brissett might be the most comfortable quarterback to sack in the NFL.

02:03:22

Oh yeah.

02:03:22

You look around the league and that's probably— he might not be the funnest to sack, but in terms of like, it's like you're jumping into a bunk bed when you hit Jacoby Brissett.

02:03:32

Also, Jared is 12 touchdowns, 0 interceptions through the start of the season.

02:03:37

Yeah.

02:03:38

Something to monitor. They've been— I mean, their offenses— the Bills game was like, that was a lot of offense when they were kind of already getting getting blown out. But like, if the Lions can just have a middle-of-the-pack defense, they're a good team.

02:03:53

Yeah, Jared with a rushing touchdown today too.

02:03:56

Yeah, yeah, that's right, dude. He does it all. Michael Ford said, uh, I know we're better than that, but that doesn't mean shit right now. I don't know if you are. No offense. I don't think the Cardinals are better than this.

02:04:10

I think maybe he's thinking like, I think we're closer to the team That we looked like in the first half of the first half.

02:04:18

Oh, of the first of this game.

02:04:20

Of this game. Yeah.

02:04:21

Jacoby Brissett always looks like that.

02:04:22

Yeah. I think he's like, that's closer to who I think that we are, because when I watch us play in practice, that's what I see.

02:04:30

Has a win— has a shocking win ever aged worse than the Cardinals beating the Chargers week 1? Remember, we all were like, holy fuck. Cardinals might be good.

02:04:41

Yeah.

02:04:42

No, they both just stink. Like, that's just— they just stink. It turns out that the Cardinals beating the Chargers was not shocking at all. The Chargers are really bad, and the Cardinals also are bad. They just happen to beat a worse team than them. But at the time, we were like, oh my God, could the Cardinals be like frisky? I know I said that. Wrong.

02:05:05

Shout out to, uh, Tegan Quitoriano.

02:05:08

Yes, 2 touchdowns.

02:05:09

2 touchdowns today. Are we just not ball knowers for not knowing that he had been in the NFL since 2022?

02:05:16

Yeah, I guess. Number 47, I assume he's a fullback.

02:05:19

Uh, yeah, tight end.

02:05:21

Yeah, tight end slash fullback.

02:05:23

From Oregon State.

02:05:25

Yeah, you have to be a—

02:05:27

He wore 84 on the Texans.

02:05:30

That's why I didn't, because yeah. I was going to say, where'd that 47 come from?

02:05:34

Yeah, the 47.

02:05:35

I forgot. He's 83.

02:05:37

He's usually like an H-back type guy.

02:05:39

Yeah.

02:05:39

All right. Last game, 49ers 32, Seahawks 29. This was a fun one and there was just turnovers galore. What do you guys— anyone got any hot takes on this game or— I mean, it was just, it was basically like who could turn over the ball the most in their own red zone.

02:05:57

Yeah, I have a hot take on this game. I think the 49ers are the best team in football.

02:06:02

Yeah, I was gonna say NFC Championship rematch.

02:06:04

Hot take.

02:06:05

Or NFC Championship preview.

02:06:07

Niners defense looked like good.

02:06:09

The defense looked good, but Mike Evans adds such a new dimension to that offense. Like, that's something that they've never had, dude. And he's, he's still usually the best receiver on the field at all times. Um, and he was just boxing dudes out. out, uh, catching everything that was remotely close to him. When Diggs started talking shit to him and he turned him around to look at the nameplate on his back, like, who are you, dude?

02:06:33

Yeah, that was awesome.

02:06:34

I mean, this is, uh, that's the kind of player that the 49ers have been needing to kind of fill out that offense for a while. And with Brock Purdy playing as good— I mean, today he wasn't like the Brock Purdy that we've seen, but a lot of that has to do with the Seahawks' great defense.

02:06:48

Yep.

02:06:48

But besides this game, Brock Purdy has been playing at MVP level. Having Mike Evans on your team has to— that's got to be so much fun for him.

02:06:55

I, I agree with this take. It was, uh, a game where basically every single drive the 49ers had to do was just short yardage to— because they just— the Seahawks kept turning the ball over until the end. They had to go like 74 yards for a touchdown, and it was Mike Evans, just big catch after big catch after big catch. You're right, they've got—

02:07:15

they've got one of the best quarterbacks in football, they've got one of the best running backs in football, they've got one of the best wide receivers in football.

02:07:21

Tight ends.

02:07:21

They've got one of the best tight ends in football. They've got one of the best left tackles in football. And their defense, they've got one of the best middle linebackers in football. They've got another great linebacker who got kicked out of the game for headbutting a guy on the sidelines who wasn't wearing a helmet in football. They've got just like, they're a great football team.

02:07:40

Yeah. And then their cornerback, Renardo Green, who's like just popped off. He had 2 picks today. Yeah, their defense impressed me today.

02:07:50

One of the best coaches in football, head coaches in football. They just have to stay healthy.

02:07:54

Yeah. And for the Seahawks, I'm not worried about the Seahawks. They have to figure out a way to run the football. That feels like the missing piece. They had another day where they, they fumbled. I think both, I think both their running backs fumbled and they averaged like 3 yards a carry. Like it wasn't, it wasn't a good day for their running backs.

02:08:13

So I mean, that's a terrible fumble on their own.

02:08:15

Oh my God, was that a bad fumble? Also, the end of the game spot, people were really mad that the ref like spotted him short before. They were like, he just made that up. He got it right. I think he was short.

02:08:29

I think that's the right spot for him.

02:08:30

Yeah.

02:08:30

They reviewed it. He was short.

02:08:32

Yeah. Cooper Kupp dove and he dove out of bounds.

02:08:35

Yeah.

02:08:36

The ball, he eventually got past the first down marker, but he was like, the ball was 2 feet out of bounds. Yeah.

02:08:41

He was short.

02:08:42

San Francisco is now 5-0. And the 49ers have started the season 5-0 5 times in the Super Bowl era. The other 5 times, one, they won the Super Bowl, one, they lost the NFC title game, and the other 2 times, 2019, 2023, they got to the Super Bowl and lost. So when they go 5-0, they usually get pretty far.

02:09:06

So yeah, best team in football. I deserve that title right now.

02:09:11

I would give them the best team in football.

02:09:12

They have— if we went off of if we went off of like BCS rankings and stuff, they, they have the 2 best wins, probably, or 2 of the best wins in terms of at Seattle and against the Rams. Like, those are 2 very impressive wins.

02:09:29

Yeah, at Seattle and then in Australia.

02:09:32

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. All right. That was— oh, and then Falcons-Ravens. Ravens come back. I don't know why. My big takeaway from this game was why Why did the Falcons go into prevent defense and let Snoop Huntley drive down the field?

02:09:45

I do not understand.

02:09:47

Mark Andrews was awful, but the Ravens overcame it. Falcons, maybe we got a little ahead of ourselves. And also, is Michael Penix— how is— how hurt is he?

02:09:56

I don't know, Mike, but he took a shot to the ribs that looked like he was— he was down for the count. That was one of those hits where, like, you send him to the hospital, scan his chest real quick.

02:10:07

To a big stupid pick guy.

02:10:08

Oh my God. Just when you thought we were done with Tua throwing picks, he's like, I got one more in me. And then he throws a big stupid pick.

02:10:17

Just a stupid pick.

02:10:19

Classic, classic Tua.

02:10:20

Also, Drake London. So good.

02:10:23

So good.

02:10:23

Never catches touchdowns, but so good.

02:10:27

He's so good. I, yeah. And the Ravens, I mean, listen, winning a game with a backup quarterback on the road. Sunday Night Football. Pretty fucking good. Ravens— the AFC is just stacked, Hank.

02:10:38

I know, it's crazy. We're ready.

02:10:40

Are you— would you be ready for the 49ers in the Super Bowl?

02:10:45

Yeah, we gotta be.

02:10:47

So you're just looking ahead to that? Ravens are 4-1.

02:10:50

No, I said would you be?

02:10:51

Yeah. Ravens 4-1, Jaguars 4-1, Chiefs 4-0, Bills 3-1. Those are your AFC division leaders as of right now.

02:11:01

Yeah, that's—

02:11:03

there's some really good teams in the AFC. Scarily scary. I guess the second, like, once you get past that to— I'd put the Patriots in that group. The rest I don't really understand. Like, I guess the Bengals. Like, I mean, I don't believe in the Broncos right now. So I believe in fall-off. The top, top 5 in the AFC is pretty damn good. Let's do a rollback question real quick before we do who's back of the week. Rollback question, rhoback.com. Promo code TAKE, 20% off your first purchase. Q-Zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts. rowback.com, promo code TAKE. Zach, do you have a hot take from week 5?

02:11:40

My hottest take from week 5 is that this could, this could be a catalyst for the Ravens. The Ravens could go unnecessarily far this season.

02:11:50

Feels like you just picked whatever we were last talking about.

02:11:53

You're saying that should— you think that had a recency bias attached to it?

02:11:56

Maybe.

02:11:57

Gigantic one.

02:11:58

All right, we'll take— we'll run it all the way back. If we're talking week 5, I think some guys on the show were a little nonchalant knowing that all their holes are on the line next week.

02:12:06

Oh, I'd agree with that.

02:12:09

Every hole is on the line.

02:12:10

Doing a hole bet and being like, I'm not worried at all. It's crazy.

02:12:14

Every orifice.

02:12:15

I mean, it's not really a bet. You guys just say things like, oh, if you like— I'm the only one that ever asked to put anything up. And you—

02:12:20

and then—

02:12:21

and then you're the only one who's cocky in this situation. What does Memes— what did Memes put up? You want me—

02:12:27

You guys didn't do anything when you played.

02:12:30

Tattoo bets.

02:12:31

You and Memes?

02:12:32

Oh, he fucking hated me and just stared me down every fucking day.

02:12:36

There's a difference.

02:12:37

Yes.

02:12:38

The way that you talked about the Jets was so disrespectful.

02:12:41

So disrespectful.

02:12:42

Like, even when I—

02:12:43

even—

02:12:43

Jets?

02:12:44

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

02:12:47

Like, even when, like, the Eagles were the best and I was playing the Commanders and the Commanders stunk, I never would go, go into the week being like, you little small.

02:12:54

Well, that's me.

02:12:55

That's different. That's mid-game.

02:12:57

That's at the end of the game when it looked like maybe we're going to win and then we didn't win. I also told Max he was small and we were big boys.

02:13:06

Well, yeah, that— because people always clip out, clip out. We were just doing that the entire game back and forth.

02:13:11

Yeah, we're doing— you just got a little boy.

02:13:13

But it's always clipped into only me saying it to you.

02:13:17

Yeah.

02:13:17

Well, frankly, it's funnier that way.

02:13:19

Yeah, whatever.

02:13:20

Regardless, I'm not—

02:13:21

What hole do you want? You want— what do you want Memes to give up?

02:13:25

I don't—

02:13:25

I don't need any of Memes' holes.

02:13:27

So what do you want? I don't want his holes.

02:13:29

I have a suggestion, Hank.

02:13:30

Yeah.

02:13:30

If you're giving up your holes, which I mean, listen, this— Hank, anyone— you can't say that. Anyone here? Not you. You can't do that. If, if you're giving up holes, Memes does have a nice new inflatable chair.

02:13:44

Oh, we can't get— we can't give up my chair.

02:13:46

OK.

02:13:47

I have to give you my chair.

02:13:48

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

02:13:50

For a week.

02:13:51

What the fuck?

02:13:52

For a week.

02:13:52

For one week.

02:13:53

It might not be inflated all the way by then.

02:13:55

Can you do—

02:13:56

it's apparently like a chair that takes 70 hours to— 72 hours to completely inflate.

02:14:01

Wait, what? Yeah, I bought a new chair.

02:14:03

Can I find this chair? What's the name of this chair?

02:14:05

72 hours? What do you mean?

02:14:08

It comes in one of those vacuum-sealed compressed bags.

02:14:11

And so it's not like filled with air.

02:14:14

No, no, it's got stuff in it, but it says it takes 72 hours to completely—

02:14:18

Oh, it's like, yeah, to form. Yeah, it's the boneless couch in a box. Yeah, it's the boneless.

02:14:25

Those are actually solid.

02:14:26

Yeah, those are. I actually, I was picturing, I was picturing like air mattress, but a chair.

02:14:31

Yeah, yeah.

02:14:32

I was— the way you said it.

02:14:33

Yeah, I was picturing like an— like when you—

02:14:36

Like you would go home from work and blow into a chair for like 2 hours and then like then you have to wait till the next day.

02:14:42

I was thinking of like the cheap, the cheap blow-up, like guitar you win at a carnival, but in chair form.

02:14:48

I was thinking it was like something that Memes won at a bar, at like a karaoke contest, and he has to go home and blow in and like a Bud Light inflatable chair shows up in his living room.

02:14:57

That's pretty nice, Memes.

02:14:58

That is a good chair.

02:14:59

No, no, this is the inflatable chair.

02:15:01

Oh, that's what I was hoping.

02:15:02

Memes, good style.

02:15:03

I should buy that.

02:15:04

So what? So what is the name of it?

02:15:05

I mean, it turns out it also turned out to be like like really tiny. It looks like—

02:15:10

oh, it looks like a tiny chair.

02:15:12

It looks like I might have bought a—

02:15:14

what is the name of this chair?

02:15:16

I might have bought a—

02:15:16

you bought a cuck chair by accident?

02:15:18

What is the name of this chair?

02:15:19

I'll send you the link.

02:15:21

It's called the Sit and Watch.

02:15:22

We got to see.

02:15:23

It might be—

02:15:24

So you got this and watch me. I got this chair and then you took it out and it just wasn't big.

02:15:28

It was big.

02:15:29

It's an extremely tiny chair, but it gets bigger.

02:15:32

I don't think so.

02:15:33

Like, you have to—

02:15:34

don't worry, though.

02:15:34

When you take it out, it The blood flow. Yeah, it expands. Your, your furniture is a grower, not a shower.

02:15:42

I'm sorry that you got such a small chair, but it works perfectly.

02:15:45

I was playing Minecraft in it. It was nice.

02:15:49

So there you go.

02:15:49

Yeah.

02:15:50

Oh, here's the stat. Teams have lost 581 straight games down 8+ points in the final minute with their backup quarterback. Or no, sorry, just in the final minute. Ravens with their backup quarterback pulled off to come back. That's crazy.

02:16:05

Yeah, that, that seems like a lot longer than I thought that stat would be.

02:16:09

Well, no, it's because remember, that stat is also like the— Every year's today.

02:16:14

Yeah, it's every year.

02:16:14

We're down 8 plus, right?

02:16:16

So it's really not— Yeah, it's one of those fake stats.

02:16:19

It's a fake stat that sounds cool.

02:16:21

I hate fake stats.

02:16:21

That's perfect for this show.

02:16:23

I hate fake stats, fake film guys. People that don't know what they're talking about.

02:16:30

I like your shirt today, PFT.

02:16:32

Thanks. I was actually thinking about burning it. Like, no joke. I was thinking, like, everything that I'm wearing today— when you lose a game like that, you have to move on from everything that you did that day because everything— but then I thought back at it and I might be a little bit of a loser for thinking this way. I, at one point this afternoon, I said to myself, how lucky am I that I got to watch a football game today that I will remember? Probably for the rest of my life, because sometimes those games kind of fall between the cracks. This was one that I'm going to look back on and be like, you remember when Jaden just forgot how time works?

02:17:06

Yeah.

02:17:08

Yeah. So at least there's that.

02:17:10

That is cool. Are you— are you just logging into Amazon?

02:17:13

Well, Meme just sent me this link and it's just a link to Amazon.

02:17:18

You send them to Amazon?

02:17:19

It's just amazon.com is the link that he sent me. And I— and because it was like, you got to sign in.

02:17:25

I was like, all right, find this chair. Let's finish up.

02:17:27

It's like when somebody sends you a link to—

02:17:28

this is another link to Amazon.

02:17:29

So let me Google that for you.

02:17:31

Memes.

02:17:31

Come on.

02:17:32

02:18:16

It's so tiny.

02:18:17

Oh, no, I don't—

02:18:19

there's— I don't think it's that tiny.

02:18:20

Well, no, that's the point, Max, is that he bought it. But it has dimensions.

02:18:24

He—

02:18:25

what it says, the giant chair.

02:18:26

What is it?

02:18:27

What is it?

02:18:28

It does say giant. What is the dimensions across?

02:18:30

43 inches.

02:18:33

That doesn't seem big enough for a chair.

02:18:36

I think it's pretty— is that the total width or is that the cushion width?

02:18:40

That's less than 4 feet, dude.

02:18:41

Yeah, that's pretty decent size for a chair. Think about the chair you're sitting on right now.

02:18:47

Why do you think that is? How big chairs are?

02:18:49

I'm going to send you a picture of it and you're going to—

02:18:51

Yeah, send me a picture of it. I want to get eyes on this chair.

02:18:55

But it came with a little leg rest.

02:18:58

Chairs are also one of those things, like when you think about it, like it's pretty crazy. Like whoever made the chair, like they, they nailed it. We haven't really done anything different with chair tech.

02:19:08

The La-Z-Boy, like they just— the recliner.

02:19:11

Yeah.

02:19:12

It does in the description say beanbag for kids and teens.

02:19:15

Oh, OK. You bought a kid's chair. But yeah, shout out whoever invented the chair. You crushed that, man.

02:19:22

I bought a kid chair.

02:19:23

You bought a— you bought a teen chair.

02:19:25

No, it says adults.

02:19:26

You'll grow into it.

02:19:27

No, it says teens. Kids and teens.

02:19:30

It also—

02:19:30

it says gaming chair for adults, beanbag chair for kids and teens.

02:19:34

So it's basically saying it's a kids and teen chair, or if you're an adult without a job and you're a loser, you can have this chair.

02:19:40

I have a job.

02:19:42

Yeah, I know.

02:19:42

I'm a loser.

02:19:43

You're not a loser. And you do have a job. Do you have a job?

02:19:47

It's for teens or for adults who act like teens.

02:19:50

Yeah, right.

02:19:51

Do you qualify in any of those?

02:19:54

I don't think I act like a teen, but—

02:19:57

Memes, did you go outside on Saturday?

02:19:58

No. Or Friday.

02:20:00

Oh my God.

02:20:00

It was awesome this weekend.

02:20:01

So nice. It was great football. We're going to talk college football on Wednesday. By the way, I'm very upset at our friend.

02:20:12

Which friend?

02:20:15

LK.

02:20:17

What happened?

02:20:19

He had a coward's punt. Lane Kiffin.

02:20:23

Really bad.

02:20:24

The whole reason you're Lane Kiffin is to not punt.

02:20:27

I'm very happy for our friend.

02:20:28

Will Stein.

02:20:29

Yeah.

02:20:29

WS.

02:20:29

WS. True. What a hire by J-Bat.

02:20:33

Yeah, J-Bat. We still need to get J-Bat on. But yeah, you're Lane Kiffin, man. That's what you do. You go for it.

02:20:39

You got Stein.

02:20:40

You get it. You get that 1 yard. All right, Hank, who's back of the week?

02:20:47

Who's back of the week?

02:20:49

Please say—

02:20:50

go ahead.

02:20:55

Please give us an update on the Baker.

02:20:56

Current—

02:20:57

oh, the Baker Classic.

02:20:58

Yeah. What happened?

02:20:59

Michael Brennan, bad. 3rd PGA Tour win. I think he's the 3rd quickest player to get to 3 wins on the PGA Tour.

02:21:09

This is counting as a PGA Tour, the Baker?

02:21:11

It's a PGA Tour event.

02:21:12

Yeah.

02:21:14

Tiger's won it. Keegan Bradley's won it. Xander's won it.

02:21:18

Does it always play in Japan in October?

02:21:19

Yeah.

02:21:20

Okay.

02:21:21

Did you watch it?

02:21:23

Yeah, I watch it Thursday night, Friday night, and that's it.

02:21:29

What's the weather like in Japan? It's good weather.

02:21:33

Okay, so Michael Brennan?

02:21:34

Michael Brennan, big win. Keith Mitchell kind of choked. Unfortunate. I was rooting for him. Yeah, yeah. Bay Current Classic back.

02:21:43

You never updated us after Thursday night.

02:21:46

What do you mean? I was updating you Thursday night.

02:21:49

Yeah, you said Max, like, I was like, please keep us updated. You should never update us.

02:21:55

My bad.

02:21:56

It's all right. I was in on the Bay Current.

02:21:58

I wanted more respect for the Bay Current.

02:22:00

Yeah, I know I am. That's why I wanted updates.

02:22:02

I went to a little party Saturday night and I tried to put on the Bay Current and immediately got yelled at.

02:22:09

By who? Chef Donnie? Oh, Quigs. King Richard.

02:22:14

King Richard. Yeah, he had, he had bet on the Fresno State game and he was like, why the hell?

02:22:20

Wait, Fresno got over the Bay Current?

02:22:22

Yeah, that's a big game.

02:22:24

I was actually watching that game too.

02:22:26

Big game. Some people don't know that they're in the same conference.

02:22:28

They didn't play any defense.

02:22:30

I was watching. Yeah.

02:22:31

I was really rooting for Fresno State.

02:22:34

Listen, the Bay Current, it was on after all of the other sports.

02:22:37

Well, no.

02:22:39

Oh, sorry. The White Sox were down 9-3 in the 9th inning with 2 guys on.

02:22:45

Brad Choustink.

02:22:45

It was 9-5 with 2 guys on.

02:22:47

Again, like, you guys, we walked in here, no one said anything about putting any of the games on TV.

02:22:51

Let's not relitigate. Yeah, we don't have to. I was just asking about the pay card.

02:22:57

But also, speaking of sports that no one cares about or watches at this time of year, Celtics Smoke the Sixers in preseason basketball. Oh, Jason Brown and Jayson Tatum might hate each other. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum might hate each other.

02:23:13

Why?

02:23:13

Yeah, what happened?

02:23:14

They just weren't talking pregame.

02:23:16

I thought they were really— I thought they were thick as thieves.

02:23:18

I don't know.

02:23:18

You told us for the last like 8 years that they were fine.

02:23:21

I, I thought they were.

02:23:23

I really—

02:23:24

I don't know anymore.

02:23:25

Would you like to say—

02:23:26

I still do. I still think this is a media narrative and maybe this is like— well, now you're doing media now, spinning the narrative, but like, it was a little odd. It was a little odd.

02:23:36

Yeah, I mean, I, I feel like Jaylen Brown has a right—

02:23:38

preseason basketball, so who cares?

02:23:40

But Jaylen Brown has a right to be upset at Jayson Tatum.

02:23:43

Yeah, the Celtics also played all their starters and the Sixers didn't play anyone.

02:23:47

Again, it's preseason, Max. Who cares?

02:23:49

You're, you're the one who brought it up. I don't care.

02:23:53

But I didn't even know that because I didn't care that much.

02:23:56

Yeah.

02:23:56

I just saw the score.

02:23:57

Also, Max, and we smoked you.

02:24:00

You were ready, like, right on the spot with being like, oh, we didn't play anybody.

02:24:03

Max. Yeah, Max. Max, he played. He's a starter.

02:24:07

Yep, definitely.

02:24:07

LeBron did not play. Jaylen Brown did not play.

02:24:10

Okay, well, get used to that.

02:24:13

LeBron, historically known for not playing.

02:24:16

Oh, it was the second game in a row. Oh, it's preseason.

02:24:22

They played Thursday, so they were probably tired.

02:24:24

Jaylen Brown also watched the game from the locker room.

02:24:26

Oh, I was waiting for you to say that.

02:24:28

Why? Good question. Is there an answer?

02:24:35

They might hate each other. I don't know. It's weird.

02:24:37

LeBron James games played the last 5 years: 60 games played, 70, 71, 55, 56.

02:24:45

Downward trend.

02:24:47

That was reverse.

02:24:50

Well, when you said it like that. Yeah, I know. Downward trend.

02:24:53

Yeah, downward trend.

02:24:53

Well, that, that's a lot of games in the last couple of years. He's probably true. He's probably tired.

02:24:57

Good point.

02:24:58

That's a really good way to flip that narrative.

02:25:01

Max, we can, we can say whatever we want.

02:25:02

I know. I fucking hate you guys.

02:25:04

Oh, wow. They were pretty close to each other. Yeah. I don't think they like each other.

02:25:09

They can't be in the same room.

02:25:10

That's so awkward.

02:25:11

2 dogs.

02:25:11

That's so awkward.

02:25:13

Yeah. Jaylen Brown went on stream and said it's like seeing your ex. Yeah, I mean, he used to mess around with— now it's just kind of—

02:25:18

Didn't he get— I mean, I know he was like not happy he got traded. And didn't Jayson Tatum just not say anything? That's kind of weird.

02:25:25

No, he did.

02:25:26

What?

02:25:28

Instagram story.

02:25:29

Oh, okay.

02:25:30

Saying what?

02:25:31

That's my brother.

02:25:33

Oh, they're not actually brothers.

02:25:35

I know.

02:25:36

I don't know. You're like— I'm— I am again, like—

02:25:40

You're the last to find out about this.

02:25:41

This is an existing situation. Like, I am now—

02:25:44

Near constant topic on part of my Twitter. Thanks for listening to the show, dude.

02:25:49

Yeah, no, I'm accepting that there might be something to this and you guys are coming jumping down my throat. Like, I don't— I'm not like— I can't defend what I've said in the past. I can only talk about what we're looking at in the present.

02:25:59

You're literally doing Dumb and Dumber, We Landed on the Moon.

02:26:02

You know what? You know what, Big Cat? I'm gonna say to Hank, thank you, Hank.

02:26:06

You're welcome.

02:26:06

Thank you for admitting, for saying like, hey, maybe I've been clouded and my judgment has been off because as a fan of the Celtics I didn't want to see what you see, but now that you're looking at independently, you can say without a doubt, like, yeah, they don't like each other. And like, yeah, like, that's a big man.

02:26:21

I've only seen Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum coexist as superstars. Seeing the synergy between Paul George and Jayson Tatum.

02:26:28

Oh man. Oh my God. Those guys love each other. Great friends.

02:26:32

Off the charts.

02:26:32

But you didn't watch the game.

02:26:34

Off the charts.

02:26:34

Great friends.

02:26:35

Off the charts. No, just the, just their highlights. And it was—

02:26:38

I'm excited to see what those guys can do.

02:26:40

It looks special.

02:26:41

Yeah.

02:26:42

And unlocked PG, special.

02:26:44

Wow.

02:26:45

Yeah.

02:26:46

Wow.

02:26:47

Hank, do you watch some—

02:26:48

You've only said nice things about PG.

02:26:50

Again, I can't—

02:26:52

You've only said nice things.

02:26:53

I can't defend what I've said in the past. I can only look at what is in front of me in the present. And what I saw from this preseason game is— And you mean that?

02:27:03

Paul George having like a resurgent season and then choking in the playoffs would be very Very funny.

02:27:09

Hank, guys— or Max, guys aren't allowed to grow? It sounds like Hank is, is going through a period of growth as a human being.

02:27:16

Yeah, let's let guys grow. Like, someday Memes is gonna get an adult chair.

02:27:20

There's— it says it's an oversized giant chair.

02:27:26

It's for adults and kids.

02:27:27

It's a teen chair.

02:27:28

It sounds like that chair is really trying to convince everyone it's a normal-sized chair. Yeah, it's an oversized giant chair.

02:27:35

You got to tweet out a picture of that chair and just see how many AWOs are like, oh yeah, my 12-year-old daughter has that chair. We put it in her room.

02:27:43

It's all about the angle that if you look at it from the right angle, it looks massive.

02:27:46

All right. So that's your Who's Back?

02:27:48

Yeah.

02:27:48

All right. Good Who's Back.

02:27:49

Thanks.

02:27:50

Really good Who's Back.

02:27:51

Good show.

02:27:51

Thank you. Thanks, guys.

02:27:53

My Who's Back of the Week is the Sacramento Kings. Did you guys hear what their owner did at the start of the season?

02:28:02

I did not.

02:28:02

This is—

02:28:03

this is the A's guy.

02:28:06

Vivek Ranadive.

02:28:08

Yeah.

02:28:09

So he took the entire front office, the team, the whole team out to dinner in training camp and stood up, gave them a toast, tried to bust everybody's balls. But the speech ended up just being like a several minutes long roast of everybody that worked for him. him on the team. And then he was done and everyone just stared at him like, well, that was really mean. He was trying to do it like nobody believes me. So he was saying all the stuff, all the bad stuff that had been said about the Kings in the media over the course of the entire offseason and how everyone was doing a bad job. But then there was no message of like togetherness.

02:28:47

Yeah.

02:28:47

Like to bring it back around, guys, this is why we're going to be—

02:28:50

Yeah.

02:28:50

He was just like, you suck, you suck. Where's Jim? Oh, he's— Angela, where are you? I didn't see you there behind that grain of rice. Like, there's no meaning behind the roast. He was just like, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you. Now go out there and use that to be better this year.

02:29:06

That's very bizarre.

02:29:07

But I have been watching some Ben Simmons clips, and I think the jump shot might be back.

02:29:13

Wow.

02:29:14

Have you guys seen anything?

02:29:15

Wow.

02:29:16

You guys watch that? Preseason Benny?

02:29:19

No, can't say I have.

02:29:21

No, come on. Who cares about the preseason?

02:29:23

Preseason Benny. I think the jump shot looks smooth. Dare I say, maybe lefty or righty? Maybe fixed.

02:29:31

From which side?

02:29:32

I don't know if it was a reverse video that was showing, but I think it was lefty. I think it was still lefty.

02:29:40

All right.

02:29:40

Good for him. Good job.

02:29:42

Look at this. Just stroking it.

02:29:45

All right. My Who's Back. I'm going to move off of preseason basketball.

02:29:49

We didn't even talk about the Wiz.

02:29:51

Oh, do you want to know?

02:29:51

SportsCenter led this highlight tape off with a free throw.

02:29:57

MLB playoffs. So the Guardians complete the comeback Saturday night. Gavin Williams, Jose Ramirez, who— Max, did you see that? Did you watch the highlight of that? Jose Ramirez home run.

02:30:10

Yes. I don't know how the hell he hit it off of his fucking shoelace.

02:30:13

It was like, what was that, the lowest home run? Yeah.

02:30:16

Yeah. His, his interview after the game was so good.

02:30:20

It was a golf swing.

02:30:20

Yeah, it was nuts.

02:30:22

And they asked him what, what pitch he hit and he was like, home run pitch.

02:30:26

It was crazy. So it was like, that was such a painful way for the White Sox to lose. And I know they had a great season. I do. as someone who roots for a Jerry Reinsdorf-owned team in the Bulls, this is Jerry Reinsdorf's wet dream to have a team that he doesn't have to spend money on, be just competitive enough to, to give you hope that you could win the division, get some home playoff games, and then next year be like, hey, we're gonna, we're gonna do it. Well, maybe I'm wrong. Ishbia is gonna be the owner soon enough.

02:30:56

Yeah.

02:30:57

So maybe I'm wrong, but it, I mean, it was a, it was a season out of nowhere for the White Sox, so they should be proud of that. But the way they went out was, was, it was tough. They struck out so many times.

02:31:07

Did you see the stat that it was 75 White Sox strikeouts over 45 innings?

02:31:13

It was every— they were so lost.

02:31:14

So that, to put that in perspective, that's the most strikeouts over any 5 consecutive 9-inning games against any opponent in the modern era of Major League Baseball.

02:31:26

It was crazy.

02:31:26

Postseason or regular season. Like, that was the most strikeouts that any team has ever struck out.

02:31:32

It was crazy to watch. And Mooney was so bad. He was, he was so lost. He had a moment where it was bases loaded and a chance to do something. And it was, yeah, it was painful. I feel bad for White Sox fans to watch that last 3 games where it's like the season was so fun. You'd won 4 playoff games in a row and then you just struck out. literally every at-bat and ran out of gas. And Sean Burke did— I mean, Sean Burke pitched his balls off. Jose Ramirez hitting that home run is just such a— like, you can't do anything about that. It wasn't a bad pitch.

02:32:07

It was just— It was like a Vladdy, Vladdy home run.

02:32:09

Yeah. And then the Dodgers-Brewers series, which is going to, I think, going to be an incredible series, started already incredible. Skubal versus Miz. Brewers win 2-1. Who hit the home run? Terang.

02:32:22

Terang.

02:32:23

Yeah.

02:32:24

An insane homer swing. I think it's the only— it's the 3rd time this year that someone has gone left on left to the opposite field. The other 2 were both Shohei.

02:32:34

Jesus.

02:32:35

And the left.

02:32:36

And it was against Skubal.

02:32:37

So, yeah. Awesome series. That series is going to be awesome. So we'll— game 2 is Monday night. I think it's Yamamoto. Going, but they— and Brewers already better than last year's NLCS.

02:32:50

Yeah. And I mean, they didn't get the best outing from Miz either. No, he, he, he, he threw a lot of pitches.

02:32:57

Yeah. He only gave up one run, but yeah, he, he only lasted, I think, 4 and a third or so.

02:33:02

There's some big double plays today.

02:33:04

Yeah.

02:33:05

Brewers.

02:33:05

I mean, they just win, dude. They're fucking— they're good. I don't know what to say.

02:33:09

There's one part of that stat that I left out. Left on left. left a fastball on the inner third. So it's a tough pitch to hit.

02:33:16

Yeah, very tough pitch. All right, Zach, finish us off.

02:33:20

My Who's Back of the Week this week is the Robot Combat Entertainment League.

02:33:25

Okay.

02:33:25

Okay.

02:33:26

So earlier last month, they had the first fight, robot versus man, in California. They've since received for that fight a cease and desist from California's Athletic Commission. But it's not for fighting robots and humans. It's just due to the fight being unsanctioned. So now we may be moving forward with robot fights as long as we start getting things sanctioned.

02:33:47

They have to have some sort of governing board.

02:33:49

Yes, the, the board didn't say okay to the fight, so they're maybe all right with robots, but—

02:33:54

I'm not in favor of robot-human combat. I think that that opens a lot of very strange doors and paths that we don't want to go down. However, If you're going to sanction it and you have to have a board, I feel like it needs to be equal parts represented by humans and robots on the board. Is that too much to ask for?

02:34:13

Would they need to be represented as— could they be represented as software? They have to be hardware robots.

02:34:19

I, you know what, the software is obviously the backbone of it, but I would like to see a physical representation of the software, maybe not a fully functional robot, but at least maybe just like a robot head that opens its mouth and maybe the eyes light up and it talks.

02:34:33

Did you guys see any tape from the previous— the first fight?

02:34:36

I can't say I did.

02:34:37

No.

02:34:37

Do I want to see it?

02:34:38

Kind of like the Ben Simmons highlights. Missed it.

02:34:40

There's definitely more going on in that fight than a Ben Simmons highlight reel in 2026.

02:34:44

I know he got his jump shot back. I don't know if you heard that.

02:34:47

It's sweet.

02:34:48

He got his jump shot back. He got it. He hit a free throw.

02:34:50

He hit a free throw.

02:34:51

No, there is more than that.

02:34:53

It was also like—

02:34:54

It started with a free throw.

02:34:54

It started— that's how a lot of great journeys do begin.

02:34:57

But you could see it on his face. He was thinking about the boat the whole time.

02:34:59

He was. Yeah.

02:35:00

You know, he wants to be out on the water.

02:35:01

He does. He misses the— yeah, he misses fishing. Can I see a clip of the Robot Fighting League? Because this seems— it seems like one of those ideas that everyone agrees sounds terrible, but it sounds so bad that it will be good for ratings. Okay, I might be— I might be in.

02:35:21

Is this Real. Zach, I need you.

02:35:26

That's not the clip.

02:35:27

We should get— I got you, those guys.

02:35:29

Yeah, that's Robot on Robot. Those are also terrifying.

02:35:32

You guys remember BattleBots? Yeah, BattleBots rock.

02:35:35

Yeah, I'm down to bring this back. Oh shit, I kind of want to get one just so we could beat it up.

02:35:42

That's what the first clip was.

02:35:43

Yeah, Philly does that.

02:35:45

Hitchbot. Yeah, people don't forget.

02:35:49

Whoa.

02:35:49

We could—

02:35:50

I don't think this is— Zach just keeps telling me this is not the real, the real—

02:35:54

I got it right here. One sec.

02:35:55

Sorry.

02:35:55

I was thinking about that the other day, like, like the robots that deliver food and stuff, like how like my kids are just gonna grow up and that's normal. It's like such a weird— and where we're gonna end up with this shit. Yeah, it's fucked up. I don't want to think about it too hard.

02:36:11

If Dante has anything to say about it, we won't have those robots too long.

02:36:14

Now they're just doing Patty cake. I know I'm out.

02:36:18

I need to see the Robot Fighting League, though. This is just—

02:36:21

Also, it doesn't count as a real robot if it's attached to something. He's being controlled.

02:36:26

This guy's just— yeah, he's just mirroring the one guy.

02:36:29

Okay.

02:36:30

But Zach, you made it sound like it was man versus machine.

02:36:32

So it's a man versus— it's robot versus man. Oh, man. Fully bot.

02:36:37

Oh, okay. I'm cool with this. This is actually pretty awesome.

02:36:40

Yeah, let's see.

02:36:40

All right, this guy is coming out. He's gonna beat up a robot. Can you just unplug it?

02:36:47

Wait, this is the guy with the big ass.

02:36:49

The red face looks scary.

02:36:52

Really scary.

02:36:52

Can't you just unplug it though, Zach?

02:36:54

They look untethered.

02:36:55

Or just— what about just throwing water at it?

02:36:58

You see that guy's ass? Big ass.

02:37:00

You saw a spinning elbow?

02:37:02

Oh, it's the big ass guy.

02:37:04

It's a big ass guy.

02:37:04

Yeah, yeah, I know the big ass guy.

02:37:06

You know what I would do? I would put magnets inside my gloves.

02:37:09

Yeah.

02:37:11

What if he's carbon fiber?

02:37:13

I haven't thought about that.

02:37:15

Why are we making fighting robots?

02:37:17

I don't like this.

02:37:18

Drop them.

02:37:18

I like the little ones.

02:37:19

This is I, Robot.

02:37:20

Yeah, I don't like this at all. We're just pissing off the robots and teaching them how to fight us.

02:37:25

This is— I saw Robot 1. It's been a slippery slope. It started with the robot dogs and everybody was like, oh, look how cute they are.

02:37:32

Yeah, but remember it sucked on the banana and then we laughed?

02:37:34

Yeah, it slipped on the bin and we're like, oh, this goofy little thing, it's so cute. And then they're like, okay, what about if we gave the robot dogs giant teeth?

02:37:41

When I was—

02:37:41

wait a second.

02:37:42

When I was in Italy, I saw someone walking a robot dog in the wild.

02:37:47

Really?

02:37:47

And then there was another person who had a real dog and the real dog did not like the robot dog.

02:37:53

Hell yeah.

02:37:53

Hell yeah.

02:37:54

They know.

02:37:54

Yeah. Sick brag about you going to Italy.

02:37:59

What'd you say?

02:38:00

Sick brag about you going to Italy.

02:38:02

It was a topical story.

02:38:04

I'm going to do—

02:38:05

it's very topical.

02:38:07

Oh, you didn't say the— you didn't say the numbers were numbers.

02:38:10

8.

02:38:11

Okay, I'm going to do 15.

02:38:13

I'm going to do 5.

02:38:14

02:38:14

10.

02:38:17

3.

02:38:25

02:38:25

02:38:27

Yeah, Stefan's the 33.

02:38:28

There you go, Stefan. Thank you for being on the phone, Stefan.

02:38:31

02:38:31

02:38:34

15.

02:38:36

Jacob Gators.

02:38:37

Jacob, I said 15.

02:38:39

Oh, I know, man. Oh, you already said 15.

02:38:42

Yeah, another number.

02:38:43

25.

02:38:50

17.

02:38:51

17.

02:38:52

17.

02:38:54

Dang.

02:38:54

One more.

02:38:55

Too bad. Gonna spread my wings.

02:38:58

They did say gators. They said they fucking stink.

02:39:00

Yeah, I said gators 2 times now.

02:39:06

Thanks, Stefan.

02:39:07

What'd he say?

02:39:08

He said good show, boys.

02:39:09

Thank you, Stefan. Tell Stefan thank you for us.

02:39:14

Tell him hawk up.

02:39:14

Hawk up.

02:39:16

Hawk up.

02:39:26

3! Oh, you're a fucking dick.

02:39:30

Dude, your team hates Mike Dicca.

02:39:32

Oh man.

02:39:34

Your team hates Mike Dicca.

02:39:36

Oh, memes. That's your number.

02:39:39

I was gonna take it.

02:39:40

And I got it, but then you stole PFTs. Damn.

02:39:45

3.

02:39:45

How many is that for me? Oh, I think that's my third. I've won it 3 times. Memes, are you— have you gotten this, Memes?

02:39:53

I have one time.

02:39:54

No, you haven't.

02:39:55

Wait, Memes, you always take 3?

02:39:57

He always takes 3.

02:39:58

That's crazy.

02:39:59

And then he took 8.

02:40:00

That's crazy.

02:40:00

And I took 3 and I won with 3, and it's the third time I've done it. Memes.

02:40:08

Yeah.

02:40:09

RIP Mike D.

02:40:10

Your team hates Mike Ditka.

02:40:11

All-time football.

02:40:12

No team ever proved they hated Mike Ditka more than—

02:40:15

Now you're just saying things. Now you're just getting mean.

02:40:19

It's like, hey, how can we honor our Bears legend? Let's lose to our rival.

02:40:22

OK, memes. Tyson Beijer memes are very angry memes. You're just upset that you're going to lose your cuck chair, which is actually the most cuck thing that you can do. You should actually love it.

02:40:33

All-time football guy.

02:40:34

He is an all-time football guy.

02:40:35

Yeah.

02:40:37

Happy birthday to Leon Lett and Hugh Jackman. Also Tuesday, happy birthday, Jerry Rice, Brian Hoyer, Brian Dawkins, Doc Rivers, Paul Pierce, Jermaine O'Neal. Happy birthday to Jerry Jones, Nancy Kerrigan, and happy birthday to Trevor Hoffman.

02:40:54

02:40:56

Love you guys.

02:40:56

Memes, memes. Let's hug it out after this.

02:41:00

Okay.

02:41:00

Yeah, I'm gonna hug it out.

02:41:01

Where are we hugging?

02:41:02

me winning, you congratulating me.

02:41:05

Also, I forgot to wish Oldie happy birthday last week, but I texted him privately.

02:41:09

What about Eddie?

02:41:10

Last Monday. Did I say Eddie?

02:41:12

I don't know if you said Eddie. His birthday was Saturday.

02:41:14

His birthday was Saturday. I don't know if I said Eddie or not.

02:41:18

Oh, no.

02:41:19

But I did text Oldie on his birthday. I just didn't say it on the show.

02:41:22

Chef Donnie.

02:41:23

Chef Donnie.

02:41:24

Yeah, I said— I said happy birthday, Chef Donnie.

02:41:25

What do you mean, say Eddie?

02:41:27

I don't think I did say Eddie.

02:41:29

He takes his birthday really serious.

02:41:31

I know he loves his birthday.

02:41:32

He loves it.

02:41:33

And he loves you.

02:41:34

I love— I love— I love Chef Donnie and Eddie. You know what? I didn't say it. I didn't say it. That's on me. Sorry, Eddie. Did you say Chef Donnie?

02:41:46

Sometimes people forget.

02:41:47

Definitely said Chef Donnie.

02:41:48

I don't remember.

02:41:49

Yeah, because I said that I accused him of cheating at golf. Love you guys.
