Who won? Who won?

00:00:20

Who?

00:00:20

Who?

00:00:21

Who?

00:00:21

Who won?

00:00:23

Bahamut.

00:00:24

We're going to talk to Drew Brees coming up a little bit later on here this hour. We gotta ask Drew Brees about— I mean, I mean, we have to ask him about the Dolphins, right? I mean, you know, the Dolphins passing on him. He's the one that got away. He's the ultimate guy that got away for Dolphin fans, right, Greg?

00:00:40

I would say so.

00:00:42

I don't think there's anyone above him.

00:00:43

Brady?

00:00:43

No, Randy Moss.

00:00:45

See, that one's hard though. The Randy Moss—

00:00:47

and it's gonna be Reuben Bain, but we—

00:00:49

well, maybe, but the Randy Moss one, it's like, you know, so they selected John Avery ahead of Randy Moss, but We could do that every single draft, say you should have picked him instead of him. That's why I don't like doing that.

00:01:01

Well, the most recent one would be Tua instead of Justin Herbert, right?

00:01:05

Or Reuben Bain instead of Proctor.

00:01:07

Or Steve Martin also.

00:01:09

Monday really bring it home.

00:01:12

So it's a Monday, 2-hour, 2-hour.

00:01:15

I was cooking too. So we'll talk to Drew Brees in a little bit here, but Chris, I'm gonna let you try and redeem yourself here. All right.

00:01:23

Tomorrow though, tomorrow is basically a Tuesday.

00:01:26

He's got bowling too though, so be careful.

00:01:28

We got one, we got one day this week.

00:01:30

What are you annoyed with at gas stations right now? Oh my God, thank you.

00:01:34

I've been wanting to talk about this for weeks. I have a couple photos here I want to put up here. Okay, so I go to gas stations just as much as you guys do because you know what, I drive. And what I've noticed, we have the 87, yes, the 89, sure, the 93.

00:01:48

Yeah, premium.

00:01:49

You would think when we're looking at up here on the screen, that it would always be on the left is 87, in the middle is 89, on the right is 93.

00:01:57

Where did we get this picture from? 19—

00:01:58

no, I know the gas prices are crazy.

00:02:00

Where are we getting a $1.76?

00:02:02

This one, the standard one, I just found on the internet. So those are clearly 3-decade-old gas prices.

00:02:08

Yeah, those were the prices a year ago.

00:02:10

But I want to put up what I came across, and you're going to see my hand in this photo.

00:02:14

Uh-huh.

00:02:15

Look, there's my finger.

00:02:16

Nice.

00:02:17

This is what I see all over Broward. Maybe this is just a South Florida thing.

00:02:21

It's like Hebrew in Miami. It's right to left.

00:02:23

It's in it. And I think they're doing it because they assume everyone's going to assume it's on the left and boom, they just got you for the more expensive.

00:02:31

You could be right. It isn't.

00:02:32

I'm telling you, in South Florida, in Broward and in Dade, you got to pay attention because some gas stations go right to left and some go left to right. And it's just— I don't understand why it's not a set thing The cheapest gas goes on the left, the, the most expensive goes on the right. It's annoying. I've— we were talking before the show, Louis has said I have found myself $40 into a gas experience where he's paying for premium and he realizes, oh shit, I meant to do for the— and it's just—

00:02:58

but you guys are distracted guys though.

00:02:59

I'm on to you gas stations. Hey gas stations, but can we not—

00:03:02

I have never, Chris, not in my entire time of driving, it's been 20 years or whatever, have I sat there and been like, let me click 93 even by mistake just cuz it's on the left.

00:03:11

I am never ever— I have— where's 87?

00:03:14

My eye is trained for 87.

00:03:15

I have multiple times had to like, oh, whoa, whoops, whoops, like I'm almost clicking this one.

00:03:20

I'm gonna tell you something, maybe, maybe this is because where I live, because a lot of times I'll have a diesel also there.

00:03:25

That's green though, diesel's green.

00:03:26

But it's like some pumps were just there, so I'm always looking at— I'm like you, Tony, I'm staring at it like, which one do I need? Oh, I need the 87. But I have a more important question, Chris. Who the fuck is pumping 89?

00:03:41

That is true.

00:03:42

It's a great question.

00:03:43

The 93, I get it. You drive a nice car, you're like, hey man, I've got to pump that.

00:03:47

There was one car I had the mid-grade for because they told me that's the absolute floor on this. I think when I— mid-grade was my—

00:03:52

yeah, they tell you that, by the way. They tell you what the floor is.

00:03:54

You know what the floor is?

00:03:55

87.

00:03:55

You put in the gas, you go.

00:03:57

I think I once drove a car at minimum 89. I think I did too.

00:04:02

89 is such a hoax.

00:04:03

All right, I'm gonna— I'm embarrassed to say this, I've never cared for what those numbers mean. I've never— I look for the where it says regular. I don't— I just had to ask Tony, what do the numbers mean? Is that like a grade? Grading of the food. I don't, I don't, I never did. I've always wondered, I've always wondered what the numbers meant.

00:04:18

Like if I'm like, ooh, this is that 93.

00:04:20

I can't remember. I can't wait for all the tweets to be like, I can't believe the guys don't understand how octane works. Don't you know how your car engine works?

00:04:27

Well, none of those, none of those tweets are coming from New Jersey because they don't even pump their own gas.

00:04:30

And I'm not sitting here saying that it fools me. Like I'm always like, oh, fooled again, I paid for the wrong one. It's just something that I'm always noticing and it's like I have to be on my game. And it's like, why wouldn't it just be a set thing for all gas stations?

00:04:41

You kind of said Louis got fooled though.

00:04:43

No, Louis did.

00:04:43

He admitted that to me.

00:04:43

I mean, Maybe I shouldn't have gone there.

00:04:46

Can't get fooled again.

00:04:46

He did tell me that he has— I don't believe I've ever actually gotten fooled, but it just annoys me every time I see it.

00:04:52

I don't want the regular Chevron, but you add some Tekron to the mix. Oh, shit. Make it Chevron with Tekron and put a little clear display on the back with a little fuzzy ball.

00:05:03

Oh, the ball.

00:05:04

So I can tell this Tekron is working.

00:05:06

But I can't think of a better reason on why they would do the switch unless they're trying to trick people.

00:05:12

I went to high school with a Tekron.

00:05:13

They're trying to trick us.

00:05:15

Those listeners, though, are correct. Where it's, oh, you don't know about the gas burner. You're right. You know why I don't know? Because I'm not a mechanic.

00:05:22

It burns cleaner. I think that's the whole idea. Like, the more premium the gas is, the slower it goes to burn, and it's cleaner. No, for your engine, for stuff that's going on there. But guess what? I don't know. Yeah, I'm trying to get from here to there.

00:05:35

Very curious discussion. A lot to think about. Maybe we can do something with this.

00:05:39

Should we ask Drew Brees about what grade gas heat pumps.

00:05:42

Yeah, I think we should.

00:05:42

Yeah, yeah, it's a must.

00:05:44

I do think—

00:05:45

you ever been a mid guy, Drew?

00:05:46

89. You ever pump 89?

00:05:48

Well, towards the end in San Diego, they did drive both grades.

00:05:51

I had to have a conversation with my son, my older son. He's, uh, he's 17, but when he got his license last year when he turned 16, I had to stress to him in the, in the most serious of terms, we put the 87 in the car, all right? We don't ever put the one with the green handle. That one we never fill up the car with.

00:06:12

I wonder who did that once when he was a teenager.

00:06:14

We don't have to do this story again.

00:06:16

It's called a sick wish.

00:06:18

There you go. So then you're right, you are distracted.

00:06:21

I love how he gave me a lot more credit with teenager. I was in college.

00:06:23

Okay, whatever.

00:06:24

What happened?

00:06:25

I was, you know, I was with a lady. That's what I use as my excuse because it's really the only excuse I have. I was with—

00:06:31

it's a good excuse—

00:06:32

a friend of mine and we were getting gas and I must have been distracted. Yeah, and I was right near the highway. I put it in, I get out of gas station, I get on the ramp, I get all the way to the ramp, and my car just starts puttering like it's out of gas. And I had to call a tow truck, I had to get it fully flushed out. Like, it was terrible.

00:06:50

That's a big deal. Oh yeah, my car requires 93, and if I put less than 93, I, I would feel it in the engine. Like, it would, it would hurt the car.

00:07:00

Is that a placebo, you think?

00:07:01

No, he just— car one.

00:07:03

Even if it is one, you know, sometimes they say, oh man, I have this bad headache, here, take these pills. Oh, my head feels better. It's like it was just sugar pills. He didn't even know.

00:07:09

You think?

00:07:10

Yeah, I think the 93 thing is— I think it's just all a hoax. They said you need to pump 93 on this. That's why I said 89, what does it— why does it even exist?

00:07:19

I mean, he has a sports car though, he has a Corvette, so that's what that guy said. I can't believe you're referencing numbers. I do just regular mid-grade premium and the one with Techron. Gotta get the Techron.

00:07:30

My buddy from high school?

00:07:31

No, the Chevron with Techron. Did you have a buddy named Chevron?

00:07:34

No, that sounds ridiculous. Who would name their child Chevron? My lady.

00:07:40

I mean, you run into dogs still on your flights down here to Miami?

00:07:45

Out of control. These people are out of control. If you're a dog lover and you're like, I mean, hates dogs, yeah, this is a segment you'll want to take off.

00:07:52

I had a few dogs on the Brightline, by the way, coming back.

00:07:55

Just like, Brightline's fine, but that's different.

00:07:57

They're barking a lot though.

00:07:58

Not, not mine then. Who, who, who, who? No, the— so one, I'm sitting in my seat, right? I'm in the window, the guy's sitting next to me in the aisle, and then this massive dire wolf of a dog leaps and it kind of bounces off Buddy in the aisle and jumps into the row. And I said out loud, holy fucking shit. I was just like, I was just so terrified by like, it was just a huge animal. And it's like these people, it was so big I did not realize they had a second dog with them. And it's like these big dogs and they've got these vests on that says service dog. But I could tell already, by the way this dog, bounded upon the plane, right? You're not a service dog, right? You're not a service dog. You haven't gone to certifications.

00:08:43

They have manners, service dogs.

00:08:45

Exactly. Like, service dogs are like, yo, things are happening, don't worry, I don't get distracted. I'm not gonna pump the green gas into my car here. I'm focused, I'm zeroed in, right? Like, I'm not overstimulated. This dog was— oh, and his owner was like, oh, it's okay, Buttercup, or whatever his name was. And then, haha. And so I'm sitting over here and I got, I got a couple of cheeseburgers from McDonald's. Oh boy, my bag. So I was like, oh my God, how terrifying. I'm like, well, I am hungry before we take off. Let me just rip one of these off. And it opened it up and I'm gonna take a bite and I look over and this monster just—

00:09:20

that's not a service dog.

00:09:22

Not a service dog at all. Thank you. It was like Ethan's dog, the way Ethan's dog is just always, anyone's eating food, really? I'd love some. Like same way except Imagine Ethan's dog again was like a wolf. Oh boy, massive, massive.

00:09:36

And so I'm like, so he's staring at your burger.

00:09:39

Absolutely.

00:09:39

You've got it in your hand, you're looking at him.

00:09:41

Yes.

00:09:41

You're like, there's no way.

00:09:43

Well, I'm— to be fair, I wasn't that brave. I was like, I wonder if the guy sitting in between us is enough of a buffer to stop him before I get from lunging over. Yeah, and I'm just like, where do we draw the line? Where do we draw the line on these animals on the plane, right? Because here's the deal, 1985, people were flying everywhere, right? It's like modern times. Wasn't no dogs.

00:10:06

You had to put the dogs underneath.

00:10:07

There was no big-ass dogs on the plane underneath, underneath, right? So my thing is, which is so cruel, by the way, but anyway, or you know what, get them in a kennel.

00:10:18

Well, yeah, like they're not just wandering underneath the plane.

00:10:21

No, no, put them in a cage.

00:10:22

Yeah, or actually room and board kennel when you go on your trip, or drive and put the dog in the car. But this idea that like, yo, my dog should have access to everywhere I go, number one, is ridiculous.

00:10:34

Number two, you are okay with it if it is a legit service dog.

00:10:37

A legit service dog, right? Yo, got the stripes and everything, been through the training courses.

00:10:42

Those dogs are amazing.

00:10:43

Went to graduation.

00:10:44

You wanna hear about their service.

00:10:46

I wanna know that they go—

00:10:47

You want to salute their service.

00:10:48

Yeah. Thank you for your service.

00:10:50

Graduated, I did the time. Time, right? Not like my Buttercup can't be left alone. Oh, just give him a service dog harness and we'll call it a day.

00:10:58

Did you know that, that dogs are— I guess it's supposed to be service dogs— that you're able to bring them on cruises? On my cruise 2 weeks ago, this woman had a dog. Yeah, and it was, it was a Fufu dog, which you know is not— it's wearing the service dog vest. That ain't a service dog.

00:11:15

Like this idea, like, oh, but it makes me— like, that's the other thing. They call these service dogs.

00:11:19

Emotional support dogs? No, that's bullshit. Every single person who has a dog, their dog is emotional support dog. All right? That dog makes you happy. That's why we have a dog. My two dogs are emotional support dogs. They make me happy. That's why I have them.

00:11:34

I have zero emotional support. I would— like, I'm— I am emotionally supportless. If you told me, I mean, take this dog, it'll make you feel better, you know what I would say? Am I getting on a plane? Then no, I'm just going to have to deal with them. Medicate like everybody else. Take a Xanax, drink a lot.

00:11:51

Give me some tequila.

00:11:52

That is emotional support. You brought McDonald's hamburgers.

00:11:56

You know what the difference is? My emotional support isn't lunging at people.

00:11:59

Yours smells delicious.

00:12:00

How many tequilas?

00:12:02

That's a good point.

00:12:03

I like— I've sat on planes where I'm sitting down in the seat and it'll be like that first row in like the main comfort. So you got a little bit of legroom in front of you. Bulldog. And, okay, bulldog. And the woman, the woman next to me, like, she's got her huge, you know, Labrador.

00:12:18

Okay.

00:12:20

Oh boy.

00:12:21

She's got a huge Labrador lying right there and she's like, are you okay with dogs? Like, yeah, I'm totally great. Because that dog is very clearly a service animal and it's super well behaved the entire time. All it does is lie there the whole time. That I'm totally good with.

00:12:37

Huge what?

00:12:38

If the dogs— as people ask me, I mean, you hate dogs. I don't hate dogs. I hate dogs that don't know how to act. So there's some cool dogs out there. I've known some cool dogs in my life. Like, hey, what's up, man? Like, what's up?

00:12:49

Dog is fine.

00:12:50

No, Ethan's dog is not fine.

00:12:51

Malachi's fine.

00:12:52

No, Ethan's dog is not fine. And I know you're doing a joke, but I don't even remember the dog's name.

00:12:56

Malachi.

00:12:57

Percy.

00:12:59

Totally fine.

00:13:00

Malachi. The dog the other day— I've never yelled at Ethan in my life. I yelled at— I feel bad to this day.

00:13:07

Really?

00:13:07

Why are you smiling then? Because it's kind of funny.

00:13:10

Yeah.

00:13:10

It's kind of funny to yell at Ethan.

00:13:11

Do that.

00:13:12

But like, I yelled at him earnestly. I didn't yell at him like, Ethan, get back.

00:13:14

You kind of want to yell at Ethan.

00:13:15

I yelled at him like with actual anger in my voice. Because the dog who had been messing around, and it does this every time. Every time I've got a plate or whatever, it's coming, coming. I say, yo, get away, get away, get away. I'm cool with that. But then we had the food out, and they had just put the food out for lunch. And the dog went, walked up, and put its paws on the counter, and I said—

00:13:35

I don't even know if the dog's tall enough to do that.

00:13:37

It did it. I saw it.

00:13:38

On the counter?

00:13:38

Malachi is not that tall.

00:13:38

Malachi is so small.

00:13:41

The dog stood up. The dog stood up. And Ethan can, can witness. I yelled him at the dog, and I yelled at Ethan to get your fucking dog out of here. Really?

00:13:51

Because yeah, I turned into a lycan.

00:13:53

I don't give a damn what, what kind of words you're using, and I'm gonna interpret them.

00:13:56

You haven't done Underworld on, on Cinephobe?

00:13:59

No, no, no, no.

00:14:01

Movies are good. That's probably why.

00:14:02

No. So yeah, so like, how upset was Malachi when you yelled at him? Well, the dog ran away, like ran away, like what's usually just kind of wanders away.

00:14:10

That classic dog move.

00:14:11

Then it knew like, oh shit, I've, I've rarely stepped, I've stepped in it now. And so I yelled and the dog ran away and, and Ethan was like, come on, uh, you know, uh, Ted Gin Jr., whatever the name of the dog is, like, and he, he scampered away. But like, that, that's my thing. It's like, yo man, if you're a cool dog, you go, you know what, Willow, Willow was actually a cool dog. I was doing a bit.

00:14:35

I think time— I think time has distanced yourself from that take, maybe, because the, the big-ass dog that Willow was would climb on the back of that sofa when you're trying to sit there, and it's massive, it's huge, and it sits there in the back waiting for you.

00:14:47

That guy's a good dog. Nah, that guy's small.

00:14:50

No, no, no, no, no, man.

00:14:51

Ethan abused her that one time.

00:14:53

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:14:54

Torn ACL. And Ethan took it upon himself to say, we're just gonna rehab this, no surgery for you.

00:15:01

Refused to take it to the vet. So I think it's a torn ACL.

00:15:05

Sting's still limping.

00:15:07

Yeah, I know. He's a critical limper, that guy.

00:15:09

I'll tell you which leg it wasn't.

00:15:11

He looks like Walter Brennan.

00:15:12

I'll tell you which leg wasn't torn ACL. The hind ones, because it stood up on them trying to get to the food.

00:15:19

Down levitar!

00:15:20

Is there Back in My Day?

00:15:21

There is, actually.

00:15:22

What?

00:15:23

Were you not going to tell anyone?

00:15:25

It's a Tuesday. Wait a minute.

00:15:26

You guys. Guys.

00:15:28

Why would you let them do this to me?

00:15:29

It's a Tuesday.

00:15:30

Greg Cody. Here's your guy, Greg Cody, with Back in My Day.

00:15:38

Shit, I hope I have it.

00:15:40

Okay, here it is.

00:15:43

Sorry.

00:15:44

Adultery!

00:15:44

That one!

00:15:47

Yeah, wait a minute, we're waiting for this one.

00:15:49

This is the Dan Levitan Show.

00:15:56

Mike, we spoke yesterday about a movie that both saw this weekend. We both saw The End of Oak Street. What a movie.

00:16:10

What a summer movie.

00:16:12

What a movie. But you also saw The Invite. That's the new Seth Rogen movie.

00:16:16

Yeah.

00:16:17

Do I need to see that?

00:16:18

You need to see that. All right. So there's a couple of awkward films out this year. The drama.

00:16:23

I saw that's available for streaming right now. The drama. But I'm hesitant to get into it.

00:16:27

The drama is good.

00:16:28

The drama is really good. I think The Invite is better.

00:16:31

Well, I think The Invite's supposed— I haven't seen The Invite yet, but from what I understand, Invite is a comedy comedy.

00:16:35

The Invite is one of the best comedies I've seen in years. Seth Rogen is And who else? Seth. All right, so it's basically a— it's just a 4-person cast, essentially. It's Olivia Wilde, who directed the film.

00:16:46

Okay.

00:16:47

Her husband is played by Seth Rogen.

00:16:48

That's realistic.

00:16:49

They invite their neighbors over. They invite their neighbors over. Well, they explain why they— the Seth Rogen is a down-and-out former rock star, so that's how he landed Olivia.

00:17:01

Is this you getting— explaining it to be more realistic to me?

00:17:03

Yeah, it is.

00:17:05

He was insanely famous.

00:17:07

He was famous and he had the rock star appeal and, you know, whatever.

00:17:10

Oh, let's rock!

00:17:12

Uh, it's actually a big part of the story, and they invite their neighbors over. Their neighbors are played by Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz.

00:17:21

Penélope!

00:17:22

Wow.

00:17:22

Yeah, and Norton, the, the Norton, and the, the cast has incredible chemistry. There is, I swear to God, like a 20-minute stretch I was just laughing non-stop.

00:17:34

This is a big bounce back for Olivia Wilde because if you remember Her last movie that she directed was Don't Worry Darling, and that one was a fiasco. That was reviewed on Cinephobe, by the way.

00:17:44

This one, I mean, that was, that was the one with Harry Styles, right?

00:17:49

Look at the boy go! He's dancing on the stage.

00:17:51

So this, this plays out like a play. This probably might even be a stage play. It plays out just like that, and they kind of give you some hints in the trailer as to what's about to come, but it's very much a movie built on the relationships of the people, uh, in this film. I would say it's probably a great first date film. Great first date, first date, great first date film. So if you're, if you're built a certain way and you want to feel something out, it's a great first date.

00:18:19

I, I heard that if you are in a relationship, married, and you're not happy, don't watch.

00:18:25

That's why, that's what I was saying. This is probably a great first date film, bad 4,000th date film. So real bad 4,000th date film.

00:18:34

So what you're saying is If I have a lady, not a good movie.

00:18:38

Unless you're very secure.

00:18:41

You know how that—

00:18:41

if you're on the rocks at all, that— I saw somebody doing a thing on it that like if you're on the rocks in your serious relationship, don't watch it.

00:18:48

The Adam Driver Scarlett Johansson movie, bad day movie.

00:18:52

Oh, I would never see that movie.

00:18:53

Bad day movie.

00:18:54

What's that movie?

00:18:55

The Divorce.

00:18:58

I would never watch that movie.

00:18:59

You want to take your lady to that?

00:19:01

My lady, this happened to me once.

00:19:03

But this is a really, really funny movie in an era where we're not making good R-rated comedies. This is a really funny R-rated comedy, and it's got, you know, it's put through an artistic prism, so it's elevated. It's not trying to— it's not a chuckle fest or anything like that. It could absolutely be the same kind of movie and directed a completely different way, and it would feel like more like Meet the Fockers, right? But The elevated approach to it certainly adds to it and it adds to the tension. And I thought it was really, really funny.

00:19:37

You know what's funny? I watched Superbad on network television the other day.

00:19:42

So— Marriage story, not the divorce.

00:19:45

Superbad. My lady. Superbad, clean, right? They don't cuss and they obviously don't show the pictures or whatever. It's still a ridiculously hilarious movie. I thought like this would probably be awful, but it's not.

00:19:57

Yeah, I'm trying to think like what would they be cutting out in Superbad that the movie would like lose?

00:20:01

The pictures that Seth draws in class.

00:20:06

You know what foods are shaped like dicks? The best kinds.

00:20:09

Gotcha. Yeah, when he's a little kid and he's drawing all the, all the dicks.

00:20:12

Yeah, it's— but like, I was like, yo, this is actually a really— like, I always knew it was a funny movie, but I thought like, let me try watching it clean. Would it still hold up? And it holds up perfectly.

00:20:23

It's really—

00:20:24

it's a very funny movie. And then again, it's made even funnier The whole time I'm watching this, I said, damn, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg wrote this when they were in high school. They wrote this as like teenagers.

00:20:34

Well, if you think it's unrealistic that Olivia Wilde is interested in Seth Rogen, wait till you get a load to see how this movie plays out.

00:20:41

So this happened to me once where you're saying a beautiful woman fell for you. Well, I mean, I think I'm, I think I'm in the middle of that right now still, my lady. But where, you know, hey, don't, don't take your significant other if you're, if you're relationship is not on really steady ground. This is why I refuse to ever watch again the movie The Breakup.

00:21:03

The greatest rom-com movie of all time.

00:21:05

The Breakup?

00:21:06

The best rom-com.

00:21:07

Jennifer Aniston, Vince Vaughn.

00:21:09

It's so good.

00:21:10

I hate that movie.

00:21:11

Oh my God.

00:21:11

Better than Forget Paris.

00:21:13

Better than Forget Paris.

00:21:14

I hate that movie so much because imagine this, okay? Imagine the scenario that I'm in. My wife and I— she's now my wife, back then my girlfriend— so we're talking, it's around like 2006, which I imagine is the exact year that Breakup came out.

00:21:25

Uh-huh.

00:21:26

And And my wife and I, we were broken up for a little while. We were broken up for 2 months. It's the only time we broke up in our relationship. We got back together great.

00:21:32

Why'd you break up?

00:21:33

Uh, everything in the movie The Breakup is why we broke up. You didn't want to do dishes? So we—

00:21:42

You were playing video games. The little guys with the big hearts?

00:21:44

Why would you want to do dishes?

00:21:46

We just got back together. We're doing date night. We're gonna go see this really funny movie. With Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston.

00:21:54

You're a tour guide?

00:21:56

And everything that is happening in this movie, everything that she is upset with him about, everything that leads to them breaking up and not getting back together are— I was—

00:22:07

what?

00:22:07

It was a documentary.

00:22:09

You gotta update your numbers. You gotta put your numbers in.

00:22:11

And I'm sitting there like, I'm in terror watching this movie because both of us know We're watching our relationship, or at least what our relationship was before we got back together. I hate that movie.

00:22:25

Your baby wanted lemons, you got her 4 lemons.

00:22:28

With the kick drums as—

00:22:30

that—

00:22:30

come, come now.

00:22:35

I hate that horrendous movie. It's an awful movie.

00:22:39

It is, is what I found. I watched it when it came out too, and I thought it was amazing. And then I saw the reviews and I'm like, why are people hating this? And I realized they hate it because it's too real.

00:22:51

It's every— it's everything I just said. The ending hurts too.

00:22:55

The ending, I think, like, I think even if the ending had been like they got back together, it still would not have saved because the arguments were not rom-com arguments. There were real— like, the, the one, the last argument, it was my life.

00:23:09

We were watching on screen.

00:23:11

Were you all put together when you got back together the way he was in that final scene? Yes, he has his groceries there. Yeah, look at you, I was fantastic.

00:23:18

I was because I had to be prepared if we're not getting back together, you gotta get back out there. If I'm getting back out there, so yeah, I was looking good.

00:23:25

Yeah, I'm just imagining Zazda.

00:23:28

Hey, it's good to see you, you look great.

00:23:30

Now check this out.

00:23:36

All right, there you go.

00:23:40

My lady.

00:23:42

Hate that movie.

00:23:43

So Drew Brees just kind of flipped.

00:23:44

So, uh, The Invite cracked my top 5. It was a top 5 of, uh, 2026. I have it just behind The Drama.

00:23:54

Okay, really?

00:23:55

The Drama was really funny too, in its own way.

00:23:57

You thought it— like, it had its humorous moments. I don't think of it as a comedy.

00:24:00

I want to rewatch The Drama. And I want to rewatch The Invite because I'm going to find so many more things funny because I'm telling you, the laughs at the beginning of this movie, you don't have time to catch your breath. Like, they, they are in pure—

00:24:13

so you almost choke while you're watching the movie.

00:24:16

It was— dude, there were times that I, I was just laughing for minutes on end.

00:24:22

I, I tend to feel like your taste in comedies I agree with So I'm going to take your word for it. I'm going to watch The Invite. I had no plans on watching it when I saw Olivia Wilde was directing. I won't lie, I thought, don't worry, darling, I'm like, here we go again. And so I'll give it a try. Uh, I love the drama. I didn't think of it as a comedy though. I thought of the drama was like, it had its funny moments, but it's— I don't know if you guys know about this movie at all, the drama.

00:24:50

I know, I know the big secret.

00:24:51

Yeah.

00:24:52

Okay, Craig.

00:24:53

No, I don't.

00:24:54

All right, one last time for the audience.

00:24:56

I just had to ask for the audience.

00:24:57

Very generic name, the drama.

00:24:59

Yeah, so is the invite. Well, yeah, so is the divorce.

00:25:02

But they're not good names, the movies.

00:25:04

I still— you gotta take your dad to the movies.

00:25:07

We're gonna do it.

00:25:08

I, I want this fancy—

00:25:10

the fancy—

00:25:10

I want to basically force a Back in My Day on the audience with Greg going to a new—

00:25:16

oh, experiencing—

00:25:18

because yeah, the last movie he wanted to see in the theaters was Swing Vote. Theaters have changed so much.

00:25:22

He's going to like love it though. He can have a beer now.

00:25:25

Yeah, well, that's— so, Greg, the pros. You can have a beer.

00:25:29

Yeah, you can recline and fall asleep.

00:25:30

You can recline.

00:25:31

Absolutely.

00:25:32

You can recline.

00:25:32

You can order food.

00:25:34

You can order food at some, some of them.

00:25:35

See, I'm getting that.

00:25:36

You got—

00:25:36

I'm not going to a movie. I'm not going to—

00:25:38

why'd you say it that way? Are you from Pittsburgh too? I never know what this accent is.

00:25:42

Don, sit down.

00:25:43

I'm getting it.

00:25:44

You can select your seat ahead of time so you don't have to worry about getting a good seat. You could just like, oh yeah, we reserve like that 5 months in advance.

00:25:52

I had to.

00:25:52

Greg, I just saw Greg react to reserving your seat. He did not like it.

00:25:56

Half of the fun of going to a theater is taking a minute to find out where you want to go.

00:26:00

No, that's—

00:26:01

you want to sit in the front?

00:26:02

No, that's the fun.

00:26:03

That's, that's the inconvenience of going.

00:26:05

That's part of the experience. I quit making everything so easy.

00:26:09

Now you have to go to the theater and realize that there's only 7 seats purchased, but they're somehow— we're all sitting next to each other.

00:26:15

I just want an aisle seat with nobody sitting next to me.

00:26:19

You like the aisle, huh? A little off to the side of the screen. Don't you like the middle of the—

00:26:22

I like the middle aisle, not the far aisle.

00:26:25

I always sit in the very back row.

00:26:27

Do you?

00:26:27

Yeah, try to sit in the middle of the back row, but always the very back row.

00:26:30

Greg's so old, he's from an era where like you had the section with the two aisles coming down. Yeah, they don't do that anymore.

00:26:39

Oh, my theaters were huge.

00:26:41

Yeah, most theaters now, Greg, they The aisles are on the outside and then all the seats are in the middle.

00:26:46

Yeah.

00:26:46

So you know that? No. Yeah.

00:26:49

So the one aisle is like 30 seats. Yes.

00:26:53

The one section is just—

00:26:55

Imagine being in the middle of that.

00:26:56

Yeah.

00:26:57

Excuse me, I gotta get up to go to the bathroom and then you're inconveniencing 25 people spilling popcorn.

00:27:02

That's why you don't go.

00:27:03

All right.

00:27:04

Down Levitar.

00:27:06

Can't wait for 39.

00:27:07

Yeah, I can't either. 40 comes first.

00:27:10

Do you know what 40 is yet?

00:27:12

Not yet. See, what are we doing?

00:27:13

Greg, did you Did you just laugh?

00:27:15

Did you just laugh out loud at something Lewis said in your ear?

00:27:19

Great, Cody!

00:27:20

Yes, I couldn't help it. It was funny. Yeah, but thanks, Lewis. Yeah, gagging the goose, of course. Choking the frog. I mean, there's a million of them. Of course, half of them would sound dirty if we keep doing it.

00:27:36

This is the Dan Levitar Show.

00:27:46

Let's bring aboard Drew Brees here. Yeah, let's get to someone important here. Drew Brees, of course, the one that got away for all of us here in Miami, which we'll get to that in a moment here. Drew, thanks for joining us. When is the last time you were at the movie theater?

00:28:00

Man, it's been a while. I do want to see Odyssey in the theater, though. But no, it's— it's— I can't even remember last time, honestly.

00:28:09

Is that one of those things where you're just too famous to be able to just have a regular life, go to the theater, get some popcorn and watch a movie without getting mobbed?

00:28:17

No, honestly, it's, uh, first off, it's like a 3-hour commitment, you know, um, to get to the theater and, and to watch the show and get home. Um, I don't find I have that much time at the end of the day, you know, after coaching high school football and, and doing all the other stuff. And obviously the last few months have been pretty crazy, but, uh, I like— I feel like I'm in— I'm into a lot of these, um I'm on, I'm on the Taylor Sheridan, you know, uh, train with all these shows, you know. So I'm, I've got my, you know, I'm just rocking the Paramount Plus, you know, just killing the, uh, you know, Lioness now and, um, Tulsa King, you know, um, of course Dutton Ranch. So as many shows as he can put out, that's what I'm watching.

00:29:06

I'm trying to, I, I'm about to start the new season of Lioness. Have you watched the new season?

00:29:10

I'm— I'm what, what is it, 2 episodes in? I've seen them, I've seen them both. I think the third one just came out. I need to download that.

00:29:16

All right, uh, you said you've been busy the last few months. Congratulations, Hall of Fame. Of course, Drew Brees, Hall of Famer now. That's the way you have to introduce him. How long did it take you? How hard was it for you to write your speech? Was that something that you were fussing over? Was that stressful for you?

00:29:30

Yeah, that was probably one of the more stressful things, um, I've, I've had to, to do. And, and honestly, it's because there's, there's so much that you want to express, you know, and, and you have such a short amount of time to do it. Um, I mean, think about it, it's like writing a, a 20-chapter book and then they tell you you have to condense this down and deliver in 8 to 10 minutes. So it was, it was more so, you know, I went twice that long, by the way, I was 20 minutes. But you're also thinking about all the people in the crowd, you know, they're, you know, sitting in the hot sun and like you want to do something that's entertaining and fun and it's almost like telling a story. I wanted it to feel like that and then just incorporate so many experiences and then the lessons behind those experiences. Because again, I think what you're trying to convey to young people that aspire to play professional sports or just really pursue something that seems super hard or difficult or just like a total dream, just incorporate a lot of the lessons along the way that came with the experiences.

00:30:34

And many of those experiences were of disappointment and failure, you know, but you come out better on the other side. And so there's just that as well as the gratitude, conveying the gratitude and the appreciation for all the people that had a chance to be a part of the journey.

00:30:46

Drew, you're a Super Bowl champ, you're a Hall of Famer. Do you ever have what-ifs that you think about in your head? What if this had happened? What if that happened?

00:30:52

Yeah. What if he ended up signing with Miami? Is probably the first one.

00:30:56

Yeah. Well, I mean, going back, even back before that, you know, my sophomore year of high school, Look, I played football, basketball, baseball, but baseball was really my number one sport. And then it was probably basketball. And then football was probably third. And I went to a big powerhouse, you know, 5A Texas school. And, you know, there was a guy starting in front of me who was the heir apparent. You know, he was gonna be the next varsity quarterback. And I didn't think I was gonna ever have a chance to play, you know, or start. And so there was a moment my sophomore year where literally my mom picks me up from training camp and we drive home and I'm like, "Mom, I think I'm gonna quit football." And she's like, why? And I said, well, look, I don't think I'm ever going to get an opportunity, you know. Why am I wasting my time with this? I could be focused on basketball and baseball, you know. I'm going to be the next Ted Williams or Ken Griffey Jr. or Nolan Ryan or Satchel Paige. Like, man, I was a baseball guy. And, uh, and, and she's like, look, you know, you never know when your opportunity will come.

00:31:52

And, and I know you love being— I know these are all your close friends. I know you love being part of the team. Um, you know, stick with it. We can reevaluate at the end of the year, but you never know when your opportunity will come. And then sure enough, The guy in front of me gets hurt, you know, like a week later. And then all of a sudden I'm thrust in the starting job and the rest is history. But, but still, even at that point, you know, I loved baseball. You know, that was really my first love. And I thought that that was going to be my path, you know, for the longest time as a kid. So, you know, what if it would have been baseball, right?

00:32:23

Mm-hmm.

00:32:25

Drew is here on behalf of DirecTV for Business. We'll get to that. We'll have him tell us about that in a moment here. Your career path is fascinating. You see San Diego essentially, you know, didn't want you anymore. Miami wanted you, but then Miami's doctors advised the team not to sign him, and you wind up in New Orleans, and the rest, of course, is history. When did you realize, once you signed with New Orleans, when did you realize, oh, I'm really grateful that this is the way things have worked out?

00:32:57

Um, well, there's a little bit of history with the Miami thing, you know, so You know, Saban— I played against Saban 3 times in college when he was at Michigan State, and then he goes to LSU, obviously wins a national championship, and then gets, gets the job, uh, with the Dolphins. Um, and so look, I, I really liked Coach Saban, and I would have loved to have played for Coach Saban. And, um, man, I had a great experience with him and his staff. You know, Jason Garrett was on that staff, Mike Malarkey, Hudson Halp was the O-line coach, who was our O-line coach with the Chargers for a little bit. So I mean, there were so many great things about that. To your point, I think it was really the, the doctors that just had their doubts with me coming off of that major, you know, shoulder injury that I had. Um, and so, um, you know, at the end of the day, I felt like I belonged in New Orleans, just, you know, given everything that that city had gone through, knowing the opportunity there and, and how much they believed in me. Um, and I really needed that.

00:33:51

Um, you know, at that time in my career, I'm an uber-confident person, and yet coming off that injury, you know, that really tested, you know, so much with, I think, my beliefs, um, in, in myself. And, and they empowered me with that. And so, you know, it, it was a long offseason because, you know, I was told when I first had that, the, the injury, you know, Dr. Andrews puts me back together, but he's like, hey, you're not going to throw for 8 months and you're not going to feel normal for 2 years. And I'm like, what the heck does that mean, Doc? And he's like, it's hard to explain. You just have to just commit yourself to the rehab and you got to go through it yourself. And so So, man, going through training camp that year was touch and go. Like, it was, you know, I'd come out for warmups and I'd just be bouncing slant routes, you know? And I know Sean Payton was, you know, I know everybody was looking at Sean Payton like, hey man, are you sure about this guy? And it was like slowly day by day, it just got a little bit stronger, a little bit better.

00:34:46

You know, 1 or 2 throws a day turned into 5 throws, turned into 10 throws that felt normal. And then all of a sudden, and, you know, I, I, I, I, I was there, you know. But, um, man, it's funny, like, I go back to that 2006, um, season with the, with the Saints where we ended up going to the NFC Championship Game and losing to the Bears in Chicago. But we got absolutely blasted in every game in the preseason. I mean, like, torched. Like, to the point where we all were looking at each other like, we may not win a game. You know, and then couple that with the feeling like, man, we have such a responsibility to instill a sense of hope and pride in our fan base, given everything that they're going through, you know, coming off of Katrina. And so, man, it was— I want to say it's high pressure. It was just like high responsibility. Like, man, we, we have to do this for them. We have to do this for them. And then we go and we beat the Browns like 19-14 week 1, and then we have a big comeback win against the Packers in, in Green Bay against Favre, and they were a playoff team.

00:35:52

And then we come back on Monday Night Football, and that's the Steve Gleason block punt. Yeah, September 25th, 2006. And from there it was like, oh my gosh, we're 3-0, and like, we— I think we can be pretty good. And I mean, we were totally riding on the emotions, I think, of our city and our fan base and, and, and just that, that resurgence. And, um, and then we had a, we had a special year, you know, and that, that really began to build the foundation by which, you know, we felt like we could be a special team if we just you know, some more pieces together.

00:36:21

Hall of Famer Drew Brees here with us on behalf of DIRECTV for Business. Drew, tell us why you have partnered with DIRECTV for Business.

00:36:28

Yeah, so I am an owner and partner in Walk-On's Sports Bistro, which is one of the fastest growing sports bar concepts in the country. We've been around for 10 years, started in Louisiana. Great food, great energy, great atmosphere. But of course, people come to Walk-On's to watch the games and to have community. And DIRECTV for Business DirectTV for Business provides every sport content that you can imagine, you know, for businesses, whether it's bars, restaurants, sports bars, and of course, you know, walk-ons. And we're very proud to partner with DirecTV for Business.

00:37:04

Drew, quarterbacks never throw a perfect game. When you were making your speech in Canton, I'm curious if you had the perfect speech or when you stepped off the stage, did you immediately realize, oh my gosh, I forgot to mention this person or that person.

00:37:19

You know, again, um, it was how do I properly convey all my feelings and emotions in the amount of time that I'm given, you know. And I went through that speech so many times, um, you know, in my mind. I really felt like I started rewriting that speech years ago. Um, I mean, honestly, I would— I'd be working out, I'd be riding my bike, I'd be doing something, or driving a car, I mean, where I'm like just deep in thought, and all of a sudden I would have I would have the perfect words that I would want to say, and I would immediately just write it down, you know, in like the notes section on my phone. And so, when I started writing the speech, I had this entire notes section of all these little tidbits that I wanted to include. And so, now, it was a matter of how do you put that together into a format that it flows and it's like telling a story and people can just be along for that ride with you and then just properly convey all the thank-yous that I would want to convey. So, man, there was so much that went into it.

00:38:18

And, man, a lot of tears. Like, honestly, I would just— I'd be working out in the weight room and something would come to my mind, I just start crying. I, I mean, driving in the car, like, in the— in the— in an airplane. I was in a commercial flight the other day and I just, like, started crying in first class, you know. I, I mean, just, you know, so many emotions, you know, um, as you think about that moment because you recognize how important that moment is and how many people are going to be watching forever. You know, and so, you know, what, what do you want to convey and how do you want to convey it?

00:38:47

Drew, real quick here, because we know that you got to get going, but maybe on your way out here you could help us out with something we were wondering. Do you have any idea what the numbers at the gas station mean? The 87, 89, 93? Any idea?

00:38:58

So that's basically like your, you know, basic unleaded, you know, premium, super unleaded. So just how clean, how clean it burns, you know, like like high-performance cars need the super unleaded, right? And then of course you got your green, you got your diesel. You know, I got an F-250, uh, turbo diesel, um, so I got— I got to remember, you know, the green— green is the diesel and that goes in the truck, right? Or else it'd be problems. Um, that's kind of the— that's kind of the gist of it. And that it's— if you're in California, that stuff, that is really expensive. I mean, you, you might well be buying, you know, like high-priced champagne, except you're just buying gas. Um, yeah, that's why you're summing up.

00:39:46

That's why you're in the Hall of Fame.

00:39:47

There he goes.

00:39:48

Drew Brees, thanks for joining us. Congrats on all of your success.

00:39:51

Thanks, guys.
