Transcript of Goal of The Night - Rasmus Kupari - Jets vs Stars | NHL Edge Blakedown
sdpnWe need to talk about the 14 and 1 Winnipeg Jets because today they had the ultimate hustle play against the Dallas stars to push them to a 2-0 lead, which eventually led to a victory and their 14 and 1 record. So we have Colin Miller behind the net. He's swinging the puck along the boards, and it goes right by Mirah Heisken, and no big deal there. He just can't play it. But here, let's pause right here. Matt Dushane is right there, number 95. Matt Dushane is over here. This puck is in the corner. Dushane looks at that and he says, I'm not going to play that puck. I'm going to let my D-Man do that. And while they're just lazily going back to play the fuck and Matt Dushane is not hustling, the two guys on the ice who are hustling are Rasmus Kupari and Alex Ayafalo. There's 15 and 19 coming up charging the play, forcing Dumba into a terrible situation. Kupari, oh my gosh. Look at this hustle. Look at this hustle by Kupari. Well, Matt Dushane is dragging his rear end. Kupari goes by him, goes right to Dumba, forces him into this bad turnover that goes right to Iafalo's stick.
Iafalo has the buck there. He takes a shot on O'Ochinger, and Kupari the whole time, still beats Dushane right to the net and What's the rebound? What a bad play by the stars here, specifically Matt Dushane, and what a great hustle play by the Winnipeg Jets to never give up on this play, to keep following the buck. Kupari needs a gold medal for this hustle. It's well done, Iafalo, too, for following the play all the way, capitalizing on that turnover. And Jets, there's your goal on Ottinger. You deserve all to get your little numbers together there and celebrate this goal. Well done. Matt Dushane deserves some benching for that one. Awful stuff by the stars. Great stuff for the Jets. What a start to the season for them.
