00:03:32

Huh?

00:03:33

Kevin. Kevin.

00:03:36

After playing abroad last week, I didn't think Carson Trent would be ready for play, but I Owen an apology to him as Justin Jefferson easily broke 90 yards and Sam Bozian Akers made us all question if the game is rigged when he threw a touchdown Dave Chappelle Najoku caught one from Dylon, Dylon, Dylon, Dylon, Dylon Gabriel. But the guys who purified themselves in the waters of Lake Minnetonka, they were the ones that spit hot fire and said game. Blouses Vikings 21, Browns 17 we go.

00:04:14

Over to Cincinnati where in a touching tribute to Taylor Swift fans who are mad at her old boyfriend Gyllenhaal and recently listened to Ophelia Jake drowning is underwater and looked unlikely to ever resurface. Almond Raw St Brown put his nuts on the line for 100 yards and Jared, turn your head in. Goff put two fingers and three TDs up the Bengals big buttholes try. Jimi Hendrickson has gone from singing there must be some kind of way out of here to looking at Burrow and.

00:04:44

Saying hey Joe, where are you going with that gun in your hand?

00:04:49

Because now I want to put it.

00:04:50

In my own mouth.

00:04:52

Jesus Christ Bengals. Someone put us all out of our misery so we don't have to watch them in prime time. Five more times this year the Lions put the game in autopilot as they park their Isaac Tesla right outside Jamar Elago Chase who might as well take up golf every weekend for the rest of the year. The Lions 37, the Bungles 24.

00:05:14

We now head over to Philadelphia where Max was on the scenes for Broncos Eagles.

00:05:20

We head over to Philadelphia where in.

00:05:22

The first half Bo Knicks was playing stinky but then Doddington Bones showed up and was burying the Eagles defense. Nick Casabonita Casa Bonita was partying in the Eagles backfield all game as he finished with 2 1/2 sacks and 2 TFLs down 1 score late 7 Ingrams scored a touchdown to tie it up. Wait, no, they're going for two.

00:05:48

They're gonna get the lead for good.

00:05:49

And Troy Ben Franklin converted an electric two point conversion and the Eagles never came back. I hate my life. Broncos 21, Eagles 17 I think thank.

00:06:00

You Max up to the Meadowlands with memes. This one should be fun.

00:06:06

In MetLife Brian Oppenheimer was drawing up bombs to Ryan David Flournoy who gave the jets defense a 2.2 on the pizza scale. That would set up Jake Fergie son who thought the end who thought the end zone was tasty tasty as he found it twice. Steve Wilkes Booth assassinated any hope of a Jets comeback with one of the worst defensive game plans of all time as sauce. Jennifer Gardner was 13 going on 30 as he was too slow to keep up with George Lucas Pickens hyperdrive speed to seal the deal with a touchdown for the jets offense. Justin Timberlake Fields needed to put on a performance of a lifetime, but instead the jets kissed their season bye bye bye Cowboys 37, Jets 22 thanks memes.

00:06:50

We go down to Carolina.

00:06:54

Down to Carolina where the Dolphins were hoping their coach doesn't get canned. Mountain Dewa Tagliavoa so Devon Soda von a chain and Jalen bottle did their best to pop off but it was Ice Young who seemed to read the scouting deport well this week. Hitting Tet McMahon often Rico charges Dowdle said I gotta get mine making us say how did he do it? The Panthers storm back late and are now 10 since we lost our brothers in podcasting Meow Mix one final Meow for them boys. Would you like to say a final meow?

00:07:36

Meow meow Meow.

00:07:39

The Panthers 27, Dolphins 24 out west to Seattle for Zach in Seattle where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to dock ship and fire cannons after 2 bucks.

00:07:51

Field goals, Rashad White Noyes catches the.

00:07:53

Seahawks defense sleeping scoring six on the ground to widen the gap shortly after Sam Smith Darnold sings to Jackson Will.

00:08:01

Smith and Jigba stay with me cause you're all I need this ain't love it's clear to see but darling touchdown with me hitting him in the end.

00:08:12

Zone to make it a one score game at half in the third Zach.

00:08:15

Sipping on chardonnay with football he fell.

00:08:17

In love he can't put down the ball he can't put down the ball Scored a day blunt sized touchdown for five yards out.

00:08:24

Emeka Egbooki absolutely unloaded on Seattle's defense.

00:08:28

With a touchdown and a two point conversion back to back as the fans chant two catches one endzone all through the stadium Uncle Sam Darnold said I want you to score this touchdown Tory.

00:08:38

Borch Horton and then flip flopped his.

00:08:41

Way into the end zone, but it wasn't enough easy. Baker Oven served up some sterling shepherd's pie for another Tampa Bay score and Chase Bank McLaughlin deposited a late game.

00:08:50

Field goal for the win.

00:08:51

Tampa 38, Seattle 35. Thanks Zach.

00:08:55

We go out to Los Angeles under the bright lights of Hollywood, where Laramie, Tunseltown and the Commanders knew they had some outstanding screenplays to put on film. The script got off to a great start for the Chargers and all hope looked to be lost for the Commanders in the first sack as they were Lad to the bone lady, I'm lad to the bone as a Chargers offense enacted an ass kicking that could be described as thorough good. But in a plot twist, the Matt Enola Gay found a field goal and Jaden launched his nuclear arsenal, connecting with McCaffrey on a massive bomb that little boyed the Chargers secondary with no offensive line to speak of. Justin Herbert Hoover is falling into a great depression and big beautiful Bill Crosby Merritt saved Washington from another shutdown, rushing for two touchdowns and over 100 yards.

00:09:47

Right over the territory that Puna Ford.

00:09:49

Used to occupy as the Commanders win decisively against the Formerly unbeatable Chargers 27 to 10. Standing on the corner, Jameis Winston and Hoboken.

00:10:05

Such a fine sight to see.

00:10:08

Rattlers first win. The Giants lose again with Jameis back in the Big Easy. Dable's got new blood Darts your true love Scatterbo is really angry. He needs new gloves.

00:10:29

Tie game Legacy Drive. Legacy Drive.

00:11:22

Absolutely huge this is. As a card carrying member of Alameda I am. I'm pumped about this Hank. Potentially first win against a above 500 team.

00:11:32

So you will get this live in your ears as Hank watches live and we're going to start talking about games. But Hank, if you need to interrupt or make noises, please do so people can hear it. How you feeling, Hank?

00:11:47

I feel good. It's been a fun game before the drive.

00:11:50

How are you feeling?

00:11:51

I feel great. I feel like this is going to be a legacy drive. Even if it's a field goal. That's fine. Touchdown would be great. And the torch will be passed. It's. It's our, it's our division once again.

00:12:00

Officially a torch passing. Okay, let's start week five. Interesting, Interesting Sunday because there was a bunch of games that were non competitive. We were actually searching on Sunday for the early slate. I think we rotated four different games to the main tv. Trying to catch lightning in a bottle. Trying to catch one. Good game. Yeah, we had a couple good endings. But we're going to start, which we have to do every single week at 8:30 in the morning with the Vikings in the. And the Browns in London. And the Browns. I'll say this. Dylan Gabriel was not bad.

00:12:41

No. In fact, I think the entire offense was a little bit faster with him back there. Yeah. Everything moved a little bit quicker. And I'm going to say something nice.

00:12:48

Vikings 21, Brown 17. Sorry.

00:12:49

Yeah. I'm going to say something nice about Carson Wentz.

00:12:52

Okay.

00:12:53

Carson Wentz didn't lose this game. No, they won. The Vikings won. Carson Wentz had every opportunity to lose this game for the Vikings and he didn't. He might have broken his hand when he punched the turf at the end of the game. I'm just openly speculating on that. I don't even know if he's on the injury report. But he, he played pretty good. He, he, he. It was too early though. Like in terms of when I wake up, the first thing that I see can't be Carson Wentz.

00:13:17

Well, here's the thing. He, he's a winner. He, he started the game. Up until the final drive, he was 16 for 25, 165 yards. The game started, it was seven, seven, like in a blink of an eye. Then it went to a punt fest which we all kind of expected. And then Carson Wentz on the final drive went 9 for 9,71 yards. Took the Vikings down the field through the game. Winning touchdown to Jordan Addison. Thanks for showing up, Jordan Addison. He actually, I haven't seen. I don't remember the last time I've seen this where an NFL player got the old Bobby Bowden suspension, where Bobby Bowden would basically be like, hey, my best player did something wrong. Let me sit him for like the first series of a game.

00:13:58

Yeah.

00:13:58

Jordan Addison didn't play for the first quarter because he. Apparently he went missing in London.

00:14:04

Oh, I thought maybe he had a bad Facebook post or something.

00:14:06

No, he was missing in London. So he missed the team meeting. Maybe meeting some ladies in London. I don't know. Just enjoying the city.

00:14:15

Yeah, he was probably sightseeing.

00:14:16

He probably.

00:14:17

When he wanted to see Big Ben, he wanted to go check out the tower. Want to check out the bridge. He probably got his London bridge on. Yeah.

00:14:24

So. Yeah. So Carson Wentz. There was also, like, moments where I. I think we talked about this on Friday of, like, Carson Wentz running with the ball, Miles Garrett jumping on his back. That happened at least once. The Browns. The Browns are a good defense that wasn't able to stop Carson Wentz in the final drive and maybe a little bit more lively with Dylan Gabriel. And Judkins is good, too. So they had some pop.

00:14:49

Judkins is going to be a great running back. He's. He's very fun to watch. He's got awesome vision, and he's playing behind a pretty bad offensive line right now. Banged up offensive line. But I think the entire, like, mood of the offense changes with Dylan Gabriel back there because he's a little bit quicker. Yeah, it becomes like. It becomes a competent football team. And I. I found myself thinking, like, maybe it's because they were playing the. The Vikings and they're kind of the walking wounded, too, especially with their lines, but I found myself thinking, like, this Browns team. So semi fun.

00:15:20

Yes.

00:15:20

My fun to watch.

00:15:21

Semi fun and frisky. Dylan Gabriel. Actually first. I know it's only week five, but first quarterback this season to throw multiple touchdown passes against the Vikings. That's got to count for something. Yep. We also had a Cam Acres touchdown pass. That was pretty cool. This was the first Kevin vs Kevin NFL game. Head coaches.

00:15:42

Yep.

00:15:42

Can't believe it never happened before. That was a stat they just threw out there, and I was just like, okay.

00:15:48

Yeah, I thought that was. That was a crazy one because I guess I'd never really thought about head coaches named Kevin before. Yeah, it's not really a head coach name.

00:15:56

No, Kev, it's a, like, really good offensive coordinator name.

00:16:00

Or like, your best buddy.

00:16:01

No. Oh, Max. No.

00:16:03

Also could be Kevin Petula.

00:16:06

Average.

00:16:07

Yeah.

00:16:07

Okay. That was.

00:16:09

Also could be an average offensive coordinator.

00:16:11

Yeah, average. But, yeah, it was. It wasn't the worst London game. I'll say that. No.

00:16:19

Not even close to being the worst London game. It was. It was okay.

00:16:22

And the Vikings. I mean the Vikings kind of needed. I don't want to say it's a must win but like they kind of needed to split their European games. You didn't want to come back. 02 off of this. JJ McCarthy may be coming back. Carson Wentz did show enough in the final drive. I mean now that Jordan Addison is back in the mix like the Vikings. Justin Jefferson. I don't know what Justin Jefferson was wearing after the game. He had some like weird. Maybe it was like a Pokemon hood or something. But it doesn't matter because Justin Jefferson is so fucking good. He can wear whatever the fuck he wants. Yeah.

00:16:54

That was a big key to the game when Carson Wentz remembered just oh yeah, throw the ball to Justin Jefferson at. If all else fails and it looks like the world's closing on you. Just try to find that guy and he's probably going to catch.

00:17:04

It was so. I don't know if you can find it. He was talking about Jordan Addison's like having to be more responsible and it was just very funny because Justin Jefferson was giving a semi serious take about like being a leader and stuff. And I don't know what he was wearing on his head.

00:17:17

He looks like he's wearing a squishmallow.

00:17:19

It's not a. It's. It's a hood I think. Yeah. I don't know what it is but it looks cool. It does look. And he's Justin Jefferson.

00:17:27

The chain that he's got on. Right.

00:17:28

He could do whatever the fuck he wants.

00:17:30

It's a sick ass chain.

00:17:31

Is this a sad or all love is awesome stat of the week. Remember brown spider and first lady?

00:17:39

Yep.

00:17:40

The couple that got married at the muni lot week one. This was their honeymoon.

00:17:45

Oh, they went over to England.

00:17:47

Yeah.

00:17:47

For their honeymoon.

00:17:48

I think. I think that's perfectly beautiful.

00:17:51

Yeah, that's beautiful. They did get to see the. The. The Cleveland Browns since. Since they became. They came back as a franchise because obviously they got taken away to Baltimore. So what was it? 99 was it since they. They reformed as a franchise quarterbacks making their first start for the Browns are now 0:17. That's pretty crazy.

00:18:16

That's almost an unbelievable.

00:18:17

Unbelievable.

00:18:18

That's very hard to do.

00:18:19

Like it's. It's unbelievable that Dylan Gabriel played well and we still have. Yeah.

00:18:24

Because I mean I guess that's why I thought that the Browns looked somewhat fun because it was like the best start from a Browns quarterback ever.

00:18:30

Yes. The Browns are also on a 10 game streak where they have not scored more than 17 points. That is the longest streak since 2000, when the Cardinals did it for 13 straight games spanning two seasons. This one spans obviously last year as well. That's pretty crazy. That also is like, this is. I don't want to get negative about the Browns. Cause again, Dylan Gabriel, good. Judkins, good. Fun, Frisky. But just thinking about 17 points. Not scoring more than 17 points and like Miles Garrett being still somewhat in his prime, it's just like, God damn it.

00:19:05

It is. Yeah.

00:19:06

It's sad. A little bit of an offense.

00:19:07

It's very sad. They. The Vikings ran one play today that I saw a couple times over the weekend. It pops up like, once in college every year, once in the NFL every year, and it works every single time. I actually think maybe the Rams ran it on Thursday, too. The fake pass to the. To the running back out in the flat. Quarterback spins around, fakes another pass to the other running back out in the flat, and then goes downfield, hits the tight end up the seam.

00:19:31

Yes.

00:19:32

That play is always. I've never seen that play fail in my entire life. I was watching the game. I think this might have been before you got back to the cave on. On Thursday, Big Cap. But I was watching the game with Doug Peterson and they ran that play and I was like, that's an awesome play. And then he started to just diagram it for me and explain why it worked for about five minutes. Didn't really understand.

00:19:50

Yep.

00:19:50

All the jargon he was using. All I know is that that play, it has never been stopped. Ever.

00:19:55

Hitting someone up the seam is always just such a great feeling.

00:19:58

It is a good feeling.

00:19:59

It's just like, man, we just did. We just fucking dissect. Dissected them right in the middle.

00:20:03

Yeah. You know what else is great about this game? The halftime show. Yeah, I really enjoyed the halftime show. I don't know who was it? Who was the performer?

00:20:11

Anyone know?

00:20:11

Anybody?

00:20:12

I saw some of it.

00:20:13

Anybody got a rat, by the way.

00:20:14

The Patriots are attempting a game winning field goal. Way too much eye black on your kicker, Hank. Yeah, he's the swaggiest kick in the league. It's not a.

00:20:24

That's not a compliment.

00:20:25

Is he like. He's just cosplaying as a real football player? Yeah, I don't. I don't. I don't think I've ever seen a kicker with that much.

00:20:31

Does he have the towel?

00:20:32

He's got to have the towel. He's got the compression. He doesn't. We don't see his tattoos. So maybe he's like, hey, they can't see my tattoos. How else, Ray? No, I'm a badass. I got to do the eye black. Ray.

00:20:44

British artist known for her raw storytelling and electrifying stage presence.

00:20:47

Electrifying Ray presence. Ray. Her name's just Ray.

00:20:51

Ray. R A Y E. She was fun.

00:20:53

She was really fun.

00:20:55

She was very fun. All right, the kick.

00:20:57

Do you think she listens to the show?

00:20:58

Definitely.

00:20:59

Right?

00:20:59

Out of doubt. All right, here, Come on.

00:21:01

Part of my take.

00:21:02

Here comes the kick.

00:21:04

52 yards, Hank.

00:21:05

52 yards. Oh. Little shift to pass the torch, Hank. The kick is up. It is perfect.

00:21:12

All right. Too much time on the clock for Josh Allen.

00:21:14

15 seconds. Josh Allen.

00:21:15

And not over yet. Come on.

00:21:18

Come on. Wow, Hank. Oh, Hank's having a day.

00:21:22

This is awesome.

00:21:23

Pft called it.

00:21:24

Patriots money line. Hank. Hank didn't even pick the Patriots money line.

00:21:28

You took it after you.

00:21:30

I picked last.

00:21:31

Yeah.

00:21:32

You're having a day, Hank.

00:21:35

I am.

00:21:35

That should count for two minutes.

00:21:37

The game's not over.

00:21:37

The game's not over. I wish the Awls were having a day because we really needed a Monroe.

00:21:43

Yeah.

00:21:43

Hey, pretty much the only pick that Hank lost today was for the Awls.

00:21:47

That happens, you know. Yeah, we are, we have already hit this year for the Awls.

00:21:51

Right, but that was a big one. But you hit everything else, so you're fine.

00:21:54

No, I mean, I wish I had.

00:21:55

I, I, you're.

00:21:56

The shaming that you've been doing is insane coming from you of all people.

00:21:59

I'm just saying I would have been awesome for the.

00:22:02

No.

00:22:02

Yeah.

00:22:02

You of all people.

00:22:03

What do you mean?

00:22:04

I just like. You never made a bet that's lost.

00:22:06

No, I have. But I wanted the AWS to win.

00:22:08

Me too. I always want them to win.

00:22:10

Okay. Anything else on this game?

00:22:12

The London did not hit. We were, we were so sure about that. Lunder.

00:22:15

It was.

00:22:15

I took that too. Yeah, we got winced.

00:22:18

Yeah, we got winced also. Shout out Dylan Gabriel's parents. They kept on saying that they're watching in Hawaii at 3:30 in the morning. I can I say I'm not really impressed. Like your kids. First start, you're gonna wake up at.

00:22:30

Any time if it's your son. Yeah. Yeah.

00:22:32

You have to, you have to wake up.

00:22:33

You used to wake up every night to feed him early, right?

00:22:37

So it was like. Yeah, it's unbelievable. They Woke up at 3:30. Like if you're, if your kid's making a start as a, as An NFL quarterback. You would literally wake up at any time.

00:22:46

Yep.

00:22:46

To. To. To watch that. Okay. Should we. Well, let's see if this game finishes, and then we'll recap it with Hank. Oh, Hank, I got something for you. Please. The NFL ticket app broke, and a bunch of English fans were stuck not being able to watch the start of this game outside of the stadium. Sounds like they can't handle. That's an NFL problem. Well, they can't handle football. That's. That's what happened.

00:23:10

Problem in today's day and age. Go back to physical tickets.

00:23:13

I just saw a hilarious video. Have the option with a British accent being like, full Browns gear, and he's just like, I can't get in. I want to see my brow.

00:23:22

That's really sad.

00:23:22

Yeah. And that's the type of stuff that Henry Lockwood stands for over here in the States.

00:23:27

That doesn't happen.

00:23:28

Think about, like, you guys would never know who Ray was if it wasn't for London.

00:23:32

That's a good point. Fair point. Okay.

00:23:34

You know what? I can't say that my life has changed at all. I.

00:23:37

Mine has. I think that we should play every game in England now. Yeah.

00:23:41

For Ray.

00:23:41

For Ray. Yeah.

00:23:42

We need more Ray.

00:23:43

Can we just double check and make sure that Ray is not, like, 18 years old? Like, she's got to be in her 20s, right? Like, for sure.

00:23:51

For sure, for sure.

00:23:52

Otherwise, can we just delete every other part of this podcast, Ray? Let's see.

00:23:58

Yes. He's 27.

00:23:59

27.

00:23:59

Oh, yeah.

00:24:00

I knew.

00:24:00

Yeah, that's right. Knew it.

00:24:02

You're. We'd have a lot to talk about, me and Ray.

00:24:04

Her name's Rachel. Rachel Keane. Ray. All right, here we go. Bill's eight seconds left. Passing of the torch officially.

00:24:15

Josh Allen drops back to pass. Fires across the middle.

00:24:19

That was stupid.

00:24:20

And it's caught.

00:24:21

And the game is over. There you go.

00:24:25

Let's go. Let's go.

00:24:26

Great call.

00:24:27

Thank you.

00:24:27

Thank you, football guy.

00:24:28

Hey, I wanted to. Hey, let me be the first. Congratulations to Drake May.

00:24:32

Yes.

00:24:32

He finally beat a team that's above.500. He's now one in four lifetime against those teams. And this is just the first of many, I'm sure.

00:24:40

Thank you.

00:24:40

Hank. How are. How are you? Take us through your thoughts now. Patriots all the way back.

00:24:44

Patriots are all the way back. I mean, that's a huge game. That's. That's great. You know, first time head coach, new team.

00:24:50

First time head coach.

00:24:51

No, first time head coach, new coach for the team.

00:24:54

Yep.

00:24:55

Going to the, you know, top dog of the division. Sunday Night Football. Beat him in front of everyone. Great performance from Drake. May great, like breakout performance for Stefan Diggs. Defense played phenomenal. Christian Gonzalez is back. That's like unbelievable momentum for the rest of the year. Unbelievable amount of momentum.

00:25:13

And it's played well.

00:25:14

Defense, defense did not play well all year. They played well. Christian Gonzalez obviously didn't play to start the year. He was back. Made a couple of key players.

00:25:20

They played well against Panthers.

00:25:22

Okay. Yeah, but that's.

00:25:23

Panthers.

00:25:24

Okay, but yeah, you guys have a pretty easy schedule coming up at. At New Orleans W. At Tennessee W. Verse. Cleveland W vs Atlanta W @ Tampa Bay W. What? Oh, lowercase W. Lowercase W. The Jets W At Cincinnati W. Giants W. Bills.

00:25:53

Lowercase w. At Baltimore lowercase w At.

00:25:58

The Jets W Miami W. So you have, you have the Patriots if you take the low. If we say the lowercase W's are losses, you have the Patriots at 13 and 4.

00:26:11

That's best on the podcast material potentially.

00:26:15

I mean, the great news just going on history on quarterback history. Great news for the page. He doesn't really have to play any other winning teams for the rest of the year.

00:26:24

Yeah, maybe the Bucks and the Falcons.

00:26:27

Yeah.

00:26:27

But yeah, so 13 and 4 and the bills. Yeah.

00:26:32

Wow.

00:26:32

You guys can see it too, right?

00:26:34

There's, I mean, there's, there's.

00:26:36

They are better than a lot of these teams I just listed.

00:26:38

So Hank, you're thinking officially thinking yoffs. Yeah, Thinking soupy.

00:26:43

Why not? Why not?

00:26:45

You make it to the office, you can make it to the soupy.

00:26:47

That's very true. That's very true. All right, well, so congrats, Hank.

00:26:51

Thank you, Chris.

00:26:52

Pft.

00:26:52

I mean that's, that's put your balls on the table and made a big time pick.

00:26:55

Yeah, it's on the table.

00:26:56

Yep.

00:26:57

Nuts on the table. Bills feels great to be right.

00:26:59

Bill's just like they turned the ball over way more than they have this year. That one interception from Josh in the red zone, that was a killer. Yeah, I mean, felt like that was the, the momentum changing play in the second half because it's like, oh, the Patriots have a lead, but the Bills are going to come march down the field and score a touchdown.

00:27:17

And the start of that game was just ugly. They were just handing the ball back and forth. It felt like nobody was ever going to score a touchdown.

00:27:22

The Bills defense also has some issues, like not being able to, to get big stops. Although Drake May was phenomenal, especially in like, you Know, there was a couple plays. Stefon Diggs was insane. You still with us?

00:27:35

Like, you mean on the field?

00:27:36

Yeah, yeah, he was. I mean, he was. He was like vintage Stefan Diggs. It felt like he was making some big catches and big moments. Any other thoughts on the game, Hank? No.

00:27:46

Antonio Gibson going down is bad. Ramon just Stevenson fumbled again, so I was like, all right, you gotta. You gotta just get him out of there. And then his, you know, backup slash, second running back got injured, so he had to play. He got two touchdowns. That's it. That's a concern for the rest of the year.

00:28:00

The fumbles.

00:28:00

Is the running back just situation that we have currently? I thought Drake May played out of his mind. I thought he played really well. Stefan Diggs made some huge catches. They're gelling and the defense out, like. The defense played really good. It's great to have Christian Gonzalez back. He made a huge stop in the fourth quarter when they were driving and. Yeah, I'm just. I'm very excited.

00:28:22

I agree. Right now, what we saw from Diggs looks like he's being a good teammate right now. He looks like he really, really loves hanging with his boys.

00:28:30

And all the reports. Catches in 146. Yeah.

00:28:33

All the inside reports are like all the players love him. And you know, there.

00:28:37

Yeah, he loves his boys. Yeah, he's a good hang. Yeah.

00:28:41

So.

00:28:41

And Jellyn, he's gelling.

00:28:43

What do you.

00:28:44

Yeah, yeah, he is. Yeah, he is.

00:28:45

Pft. He's a good teammate. He's a good hang and his teammates love him.

00:28:49

That's what I said.

00:28:50

Yeah. What were you gonna say?

00:28:53

I'm agreeing with pfg.

00:28:55

Were you saying. What are you. What's the angle or something?

00:28:57

No, I mean, what are you gonna parse here? I think that Diggs is a great hang. If you're one of his.

00:29:03

He got you so bad on Thursday. You got your guard up.

00:29:07

No, Yeah, I know.

00:29:08

We don't.

00:29:08

I know what he's doing.

00:29:10

I don't know what I'm doing.

00:29:11

Right.

This should be interesting because Hank, let's just say this. Hank. Hank had a hell of a day. He won everything, including Broncos 21, Eagles 17. Which that was, I would say.

00:31:02

One.

00:31:02

Of the biggest wins the Broncos have had. And I know they were good last year. They made the playoffs. But in terms of, like, statement wins on the road. Bo Nix struggling for the first three quarters, then showing up huge in the fourth quarter. He was 15 for 29 for 115 yards going into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, he was 9 for 10, 127 yards in a touchdown. Took over that game. The Broncos defense, which everyone has talked about, was awesome down the stretch. They sacked Jalen Hurts six times. They had smoke in the locker room afterwards. It felt like one of those, hey, this is the win the Broncos needed. They had. They have two losses on the season. Both games they were. I don't think they. I think they had to lead the entire fourth quarter in both those games. This was like a, hey, we went and we punched the big bad bullies in the mouth. We won a big game on the road. The Broncos are for real.

00:31:53

Yeah, this was the first game, you're right. It's the first game that the Broncos have trailed in the fourth quarter quarter all season. Yeah, which is crazy because they got those two losses, but they were behind. And yeah, I don't know what the smoke was. Were they smoking cigars in lock.

00:32:05

There was a smoke machine.

00:32:06

Smoke machine. Probably also some cigars in locker room. Congratulations to the Broncos. Their defense is legit. Legit. Not only did they sack Jalen Hurts, but they also held Saquon Barkley in check for the most part, besides that one long reception that he had. But they only. The Eagles only ran the ball six times. Yeah, through Saquon, he only got six carries. I think that was because how they wanted to try to attack this defense, I don't know. But if you're going to keep Saquon, like, you know, if you're going to limit his touches, that's a. That's a recipe for how you can beat the Eagles.

00:32:37

Yeah, they. They only had one handoff in the second half. It felt like the Eagles maybe were reading the news a little too much, maybe listening to what A.J. brown wanted too much and passing the ball too much. But it's. Again, this is. I know there were some controversial penalties, which we'll get to, but this was more to me like the Broncos went in. In a game that they were kind of dominated for the first three quarters, and it looked like the Eagles were going to cruise to victory. Kind of like a, hey, this is a measuring stick game for the Denver Broncos in 2025. Can they measure up for the first three quarters? The answer was resoundedly no. And, man, this team is still a decent ways away from competing at the higher level of the NFL. And then they basically were like, no, we're here, and Bo Nicks can do this. And incredible win. Huge win.

00:33:29

Bonicks made some great throws in the fourth quarter. Yeah, Doddington Bones is what some are calling him. Hank. I think Hank invented that nickname. That's like a. A fourth level of irony nickname that Hank has come up with at this point.

00:33:41

Look at Hank. This is the smilest. We've had him.

00:33:43

We.

00:33:43

He hasn't smiled this big on the podcast in a long time. He is smiling.

00:33:48

He is so happy.

00:33:50

Smile.

00:33:50

He's so happy that he's making me happy.

00:33:52

Oh, man, is he smiling.

00:33:54

But, yeah, I mean, we can talk about the penalties.

00:33:56

I have.

00:33:56

I have a stat, though, about the penalties.

00:33:57

I just love football.

00:33:59

You always have said you love football. You love football, dude.

00:34:05

So The Eagles had 55 yards of penalties today. The Broncos had 122 penalty yards today. Oh, I thought that was an interesting stat. Okay, now I will say that the Eagles also have played just an absolute gauntlet of a schedule so far. Yeah, they've They've had just nothing but big games. Back to. It felt like every week was a massive, massive game for the Eagles. That's because it's the NFL, and every week is massive. But especially for the Eagles, they played a very, very tough schedule. I think at some point that caught up with them a little bit. And the Broncos are good enough to take advantage of that. Yeah. Like, any small laps.

00:34:39

Yeah.

00:34:39

And that's what they did.

00:34:41

All right. So, Max, do you want to.

00:34:43

We'll.

00:34:43

We'll to how Hank comes into this, but how are you feeling? That was a tough game. Not fun.

00:34:51

Yeah, not fun. We've kind of been playing this football the past couple of weeks. We're just playing one half, like, one really good half, and the other half look like the worst team in the NFL. And we've been winning these close games luckily, and we deserve. We deserve to lose one. The refereeing at the end of the game was horrendous, but we deserve to lose one of these games.

00:35:15

Max, remember when I said to you last week, or maybe it was a couple weeks ago, that maybe a loss would be good?

00:35:24

Yeah.

00:35:24

Saquon kind of agreed with me.

00:35:26

I know.

00:35:27

He said that.

00:35:27

Yeah. He said now we have adversity, real adversity. We lost a football game. We got a lot of guys banged up. We got to get healthy and come to work. We have a super competitive team. It's not going to sit well with anyone in this locker room. We'll get better from it. So point me. Yeah. Do you.

00:35:43

Did I hear you agreeing with Big Cat when I was walking past the cave earlier today? Like, maybe this is a good loss?

00:35:50

Yeah. I just said.

00:35:51

Yeah, yeah.

00:35:51

But you. You already. Like, you were talking about it earlier.

00:35:54

Yeah.

00:35:55

So you. You really. It's not just Big Cat being like, hey, well, I was.

00:35:58

That was. That was.

00:35:59

Cope. You were.

00:36:01

That was.

00:36:01

That, too. That's.

00:36:02

That's like two hours after lost.

00:36:04

Cope.

00:36:04

How can we.

00:36:04

How can we find the positives?

00:36:06

But you. Well, you can't win every game.

00:36:07

Yeah.

00:36:07

You can't win every game.

00:36:08

And you. And you finally had a loss.

00:36:10

Do you.

00:36:10

Are you worried at all about how the offense did seem to try to force the ball downfield More? 38 passes for Jalen hurts. That's the tide for the most he's had in the last year and a half. Are you worried at all about that? Because it did feel like they were throwing the ball a lot more. Only one. Like I said, one handoff in the second half is very bizarre for An Eagles team that prides themselves on being able to just run the ball down.

00:36:35

Your throat and say, like, we haven't been running the ball well this year, but today we. We did. Saquon was running for five yards of carry. It was his best average yards per carry of the season, and we just weren't running it.

00:36:49

What would you say to people who were like, hey, Jalen Hurts finally threw the ball a ton of times and they lost.

00:36:57

He didn't look bad throwing. He had 280 yards. He had over 100 quarterback rating. Like, he. That's exactly what the. The fucking haters want.

00:37:07

That's what I'm saying.

00:37:08

Max. I don't me. I don't care about the stats that.

00:37:11

You lost, but that's what everyone says is like, oh, you really think there's a good quarterback because he wins. Throwing the ball like 105 yards, I'm like, well, he won the football game, right? And then he loses a football game Thursday, 280 and two touchdowns. And then it's like, oh, maybe he sucks because you couldn't win. Win the game. Well, it's whatever.

00:37:30

So the Eagles are better when Jalen hurts is not good or doesn't throw. Doesn't throw.

00:37:37

That's not what I'm saying.

00:37:38

But he wins. No, but he wins. That's good.

00:37:40

It's not what I'm saying.

00:37:41

When he wins, it's good.

00:37:42

That one pass, A.J. brown, that was tough. Yeah.

00:37:47

I don't know if you might not know.

00:37:48

Ball.

00:37:49

What are you talking about?

00:37:49

A.J. brown stopped running.

00:37:50

Are we talking about.

00:37:51

I understand. A.J. brown said after. He's like. He looked up, there was no ball, and that's why he stopped running. And then the ball was late.

00:38:00

That's A.J. brown.

00:38:01

If we're talking. If we're talking about the seam route, that's A.J.

00:38:03

Brown.

00:38:04

He.

00:38:04

Yeah, yeah, he made a cut.

00:38:05

I know he stopped.

00:38:06

He made a cut, stopped running, and then he started once he saw the ball miscommunication, and then it was like five yards over him. But if he had run the whole.

00:38:13

If he had run the whole time, he would have been underneath.

00:38:15

But he said after the game, like, he was just like, yeah, the. I looked up, the ball wasn't there as we slowed down because he thought the ball wasn't coming. It's not that I didn't think it was coming. I looked up and didn't see the ball. I looked back and didn't see the ball.

00:38:27

Yeah.

00:38:28

Then the ball was thrown. So like I said, we just Missed.

00:38:30

So yeah, he, he did stop running.

00:38:32

Because he thought the ball was. The timing was off because the ball wasn't coming.

00:38:35

Yeah, but the ball was coming. But yeah, he just didn't see it. The more concerning film of A.J. brown to me is the very last play of the game.

00:38:42

Yeah.

00:38:43

Big. Have you rewatched that?

00:38:44

Yes.

00:38:44

The second it happened on. I don't know if we can call it a Hail Mary. It was like what, a 35 yard pass, 30 yard pass, something like that. The last play of the game, Jalen Hurts throws it in the end zone and it looks like AJ Brown's playing cornerback against devonte Smith. He wanted that like devonte Smith is jumping up to make the catch and AJ Jumps over his back like fucks up the entire catch and then grabs devonte Smith by his head and like pulls him back to the ground. It looked like bridesmaids fighting over the bouquet at a wedding.

00:39:15

This is what happens when you don't feed him the ball. They get hungry for it.

00:39:18

Yeah, that Max, that is. That's concerning.

00:39:21

Yes.

00:39:22

I mean that.

00:39:23

How concerned are you that is like.

00:39:25

Two competitors wanting to go up and get a ball. Like it's a scrum in there. You don't even really know who's who in this situation. Like he's just trying to catch football. Which my argument would be.

00:39:40

That ball.

00:39:41

There has to be a plan going into that play of who's. Who is going to be the guy that goes up to make the play and who is going to be the guy that is on the side for a tip.

00:39:53

Winning football, you're not even in a Hail Mary situation.

00:39:55

I think he knew that was like.

00:39:57

You guys have been winning so many games, you haven't been able to practice this.

00:40:00

Also just an egregious non. Call on the.

00:40:03

On Goddard.

00:40:03

On Goddard, the play.

00:40:04

Yeah. No, I agree.

00:40:05

I agree with that.

00:40:06

That one was bad. The bonix intentional grounding was bad.

00:40:08

And the Zach Pawn personal foul was.

00:40:12

Yeah, that was fourth down. That was a little more stupid than bad.

00:40:16

My penalty stat was.

00:40:19

That was a week.

00:40:20

Obviously the most important calls win against the Eagles. Yes. Not it like the total yardage.

00:40:25

Yeah. Legal motion on the devonte Smith. Big, big pass play. That sucked too.

00:40:31

Yeah.

00:40:31

Where.

00:40:32

But that, that was like. I mean, you're not going to. Yeah, that was just.

00:40:36

Yeah, you just fucked up. That was just execution. I mean you guys are 4 and 1. You're going to kill the Giants. You're going to be fine.

00:40:43

Yeah.

00:40:45

Hank, what'd you think about the game.

00:40:48

I thought it was an exciting game. I thought, you know, both teams played well. Bo Nicks coming out, party of his own. 18 unanswered in the fourth quarter.

00:40:55

Passing the torch game.

00:40:56

Not passing the torch, but it was, you know, on the road against the super bowl champs. It was a gritty performance.

00:41:04

So there was a little argument in the gambling cave. Can we play that clip so that people can hear it? No, he's taking off his headphones. I mean, the people want to hear it. They want to. They want to hear what we're talking about if we're going to get in an argument. Oh, he's making.

00:41:19

All right, Zach, pull it up some. Some context here. Hank, in his Hungry dog parlay, had the Denver Broncos beating the Eagles.

00:41:27

Hank is picked against the Eagles every single week for his hungry dog parlay.

00:41:31

Balls. No, this, by the way.

00:41:32

Yes. One week. One week.

00:41:33

They were on Thursday Night Football.

00:41:35

This is. This is what Hank does. We've worked with Hank. For how many years have you worked with Hank?

00:41:39

This is. This is. This happens at least once, usually a couple times a year. There will be a week in the NFL season where Hank will win everything, and it will be someone else losing everything. And it will. And he'll sit here and smile, and it. It will drive you to your wit's end. But he doesn't. He's not doing anything wrong. He's just winning.

00:42:01

Thank you.

00:42:01

Sometimes he's a little stupid.

00:42:03

I've been in this spot before, Max. It sucks. There's nothing you can do about it.

00:42:06

And it all started.

00:42:07

He just has a week like this every year where he just wins multiple. Well, not always.

00:42:12

This is the beginning.

00:42:13

Last year. I don't know the Hungry dog, but.

00:42:15

Once hit once at the end of the year.

00:42:17

One time.

00:42:17

So that's not multiple.

00:42:18

Yeah, so that's one time.

00:42:19

I'm saying multiple are coming. This is.

00:42:21

And it's usually at the expense of one of us.

00:42:23

Snowball starting at the top of the hill.

00:42:25

He's hot. So. So Hank had his. He had the Broncos today Moneyline. And then a fight broke out in the gambling cave. And I would like to see how. How we're doing as. As a group right now. But this is. This is what happened. This is in the fourth quarter of the game when the Broncos are driving to go up. By the way, credit Sean Payton going for two. That was crazy.

00:42:46

I love that call. Love it on the road.

00:42:48

Balls.

00:42:48

Balls.

00:42:49

All right, here it is. No, that's. That's not it. Okay, Max, can you please Find it for us and find the actual, like, copy from the. From the stream. Not the. Not that one. Because the mics will be better. Max is. He doesn't want to. He doesn't want to play that well.

00:43:09

The backstory, obviously, they were in the. In the hungry dog parlor, I think in the backstory. And here's.

00:43:14

Here's one thing I'll say. I will. One. One thing I will say is. Is Max was coming off. Along. He was a little. You know, he was at a wedding.

00:43:23

We got to get Max off the.

00:43:24

Road for the Phillies.

00:43:25

He's on the road too much.

00:43:26

Tough night for Penn State.

00:43:28

He.

00:43:28

You know, his gas was on empty. He was. He was already kind of like a wounded dog, and I don't think it helped.

00:43:34

I wasn't.

00:43:35

I was not trying to really, like, I poked the bear with him sometimes. Yeah, this was not really even poking the bear, but once he reacted, were you.

00:43:42

Were you.

00:43:43

Naturally, it's like fight or flight. And I. You know, not. And it's not fighting, actually fighting. It's just like, do I want to lean in and get him more upset? Or. Or flight? And it's. Yes, I'm gonna lean.

00:43:53

Did you talk. Did you talk about the. The little punches?

00:43:57

Did you put your hands on him? Yes. You shouldn't put your hands.

00:44:02

We were sitting next to each other.

00:44:04

And you put your hands on him.

00:44:05

Well, Hank loves football, and he was excited about a great throw.

00:44:08

I tapped his shoulder. I did tap his shoulder.

00:44:10

Oh, yeah. And I mean, Hank also. I don't know if anybody missed out on. On the context, because we haven't talked about MLB or college football, but when you said that it's Penn State lost to ucla, who had never. They hadn't won a single game.

00:44:23

They hadn't had a lead.

00:44:24

They hadn't had a lead this year. And then. Oh, Hank's trending, is he?

00:44:28

Love that Hank.

00:44:29

That's just mine.

00:44:30

Oh, that's your trending inside Max's algorithm.

00:44:34

This is this. I wish I could go back and look like this happens every year.

00:44:38

And then the Dodgers, they came back against the Phillies.

00:44:41

Yeah.

00:44:42

And that was last night. So those are the games that Hank's talking about.

00:44:45

Yeah.

00:44:46

And then today it was the NFL football game.

00:44:49

Okay.

00:44:49

So that might have been the last.

00:44:50

Let's give the people the context and show them the. The fight that. That took place. This is Max and Hank Donnington.

00:44:59

Shut the up, dude. Shut up.

00:45:02

So he just. He threw a touchdown.

00:45:04

I said, donnington, your hat off.

00:45:07

Parlay.

00:45:08

Shut your Mouth.

00:45:10

Was that a dot or was that a dot?

00:45:11

Just start.

00:45:12

Shut up.

00:45:15

Shut up, Shut up.

00:45:17

I don't give a. You never hit these. You're going to lose the next leg. Such a dude. It's a parlay. It's a parlay. It's a parlay. Shut your mouth.

00:45:31

Shut your eyes.

00:45:32

Your mouth.

00:45:33

One leg at a time.

00:45:33

It's every.

00:45:34

Oh, bobo, bobo. Shut up.

00:45:38

It was a dog.

00:45:40

That wasn't a dot, dude. It was a five yard throw.

00:45:44

Shut up. Shut up. Oh, they're going for two. Oh, baby. Let's go. Come on. Max got in the people can't watch this clip. He stood up and started punching the wall.

00:46:04

Donnington bone.

00:46:10

Started hitting the wall.

00:46:13

Shut up.

00:46:15

Shut up.

00:46:16

Yeah, so there was a moment where. Where Max reaches over, he throws Hank's hat. He picks up Hank's phone, which was.

00:46:22

On my back, by the way. He grabbed my phone and my dick at the same time.

00:46:26

I thought everything was fair except for Max touching your penis and hat. No, he can touch your hat.

00:46:32

No, hat's fine.

00:46:34

Max.

00:46:34

Physical contact was bad.

00:46:36

Max, I. I don't want you to ever touch Hank's penis again.

00:46:39

Deal? All right.

00:46:40

Yep.

00:46:40

Stefan Diggs could learn a lot from this rule.

00:46:43

Yes, that.

00:46:43

Hanging with the boys.

00:46:44

All right, so where are you guys at now? Because I also saw there was another one. Should we play the other one too? Because you. You then. You then tried to accuse him of. Of what he was accusing you of.

00:46:59

Of trying to just stir the pot.

00:47:00

Oh.

00:47:00

Which he was trying to.

00:47:01

That clip.

00:47:02

I literally.

00:47:03

They scored a touchdown and I was.

00:47:04

I. I was like, Yes.

00:47:06

I was upstairs. I was upstairs in my office and I heard Max yelling. And I started listening. Like, I came over to listen over the. The ledge, and all I heard was Max being like, you wouldn't do this to. To Big Cat or pft. I'm like, yeah, yeah, he has.

00:47:20

So what?

00:47:20

This. This exactly. About 99% of me and Hank's fights in our entire friendship and existence together has pretty much been this exact circumstance.

00:47:31

So Max pivoted to just me just.

00:47:34

Yeah, right. You're not doing anything wrong. It's just inside the cave he just entered.

00:47:38

Yes, he is.

00:47:38

Yes, he is. Yes, he is.

00:47:40

What is he doing?

00:47:41

You're insane. Do not give him the out that he's not purposely trying.

00:47:46

Well, he won the bet.

00:47:47

Yes, I get that. He won the fucking bet.

00:47:50

Called him bullshit parlays. Apologize.

00:47:53

No, Max, I'm also saying you're not wrong either. Like, you're not wrong in your anger. He. This is all inside of the cake.

00:48:00

It all. But I. It all started with. With the. With the punch and like, look at that. Look at Bo Nix.

00:48:05

As if, like, the touching's too much.

00:48:07

At what point am I going to, like, be happy that Bo Nix is throwing a good football?

00:48:13

You. You shouldn't.

00:48:14

Don't.

00:48:14

Don't.

00:48:15

Don't touch. Don't touch it. Okay.

00:48:17

No, but it. But. But that was the point that started it, and then I got mad when you did that, and then it was every play. Oh, that's a dot. That's a dot. That's a dot.

00:48:26

18 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.

00:48:29

But, like, Broncos guy, I gave you an opening, and then you just kept. Kept going, and you know it.

00:48:35

If the Broncos didn't score 18 unanswered points in the fourth quarter and have a, you know, a big comeback win, I would not have been doing that. You're right.

00:48:42

You weren't even watching the commanders game. And that was the last leg, Max.

00:48:47

That's where. That's where I got a little bit pissed off. So what happened in the second clip? What are you talking. Play pinball. Oh, I wasn't.

00:48:55

You are addicted.

00:48:56

Was I? Was I?

00:48:57

Wait, pfd.

00:48:58

Was I in the cave for the commander's win the whole game?

00:49:01

Max is right. Hank left the cave once, at least to swing a golf club, and nope, again to play pinball.

00:49:08

You are false.

00:49:09

You were playing pinball.

00:49:10

I took.

00:49:10

Yeah, maybe at halftime during the game, because I was like, where the. Is Hank now? I need somebody on my side in here and then here, here. But here's the part that pissed me off.

00:49:18

I was taking it. You're the one that's been like.

00:49:20

It was like the fourth quarter, the Commander's game, and then Max comes into the studio, and then ma. Max starts, like, prosecuting Hank, trying to just get him to admit under. No, no. The game was still very much up in the air. But Max is, like, trying to make Hank admit to the fact that he was just stirring the pot and being a jerk on purpose, which I wasn't. And then that became a thing where Hank tried to pretend like he wasn't trying to be a jerk.

00:49:43

I was.

00:49:44

He very obviously was. I was not.

00:49:45

And he.

00:49:46

But he would not admit to Max's hostile cross cross examination. And then after a while, I was.

00:49:50

Just like, listen to that clip, listeners, and tell me who was being a jerk.

00:49:53

That's not the. The clip is not. Not where the anger came from. Max it was the 45 minutes before the clip, Max.

00:50:00

This is what Hank does, though. You realize that big cat's right when he says that he does it to him. Yeah, Hank did it to me last year a few times, and. And the little smirk on his face pisses you off.

00:50:11

Yeah.

00:50:12

Yeah, this is what he does.

00:50:14

Come to the gambling cave and make bets or. But God forbid, if you bet against.

00:50:18

One of our teams, we will crucify. I don't. It does happen. YouTube. You better get something way more about the best that are bad teams. Max, I. I actually have your back in the fact that, like, Hank has put me in this. In this bind before, and I've. I've reacted poorly, and it just is what it is. He just. He gets this hot streak.

00:50:41

He's.

00:50:42

You can't look at his face like, what are you gonna do? He just does this. He has a magic touch every now.

00:50:47

And then, but your entire point was, like, you shouldn't even be rooting for the Broncos because your parlays are. And they're never gonna hit. You're gonna lose the next leg.

00:50:55

Yeah, no, that. That part was tough. That was a bad look for 51.

00:50:59

Cash, thanks to the commanders. So all you do is bet against our team.

00:51:04

Oh, wait.

00:51:05

I was betting with pft.

00:51:07

Hank, I'm on your side.

00:51:08

Same way PFT was betting with me.

00:51:09

I'm on your side for this. Yeah, I was betting on the Patriots, but. And. And, yeah, you are absolutely within your rights to root for your bets to win. That's what we do. It's called the gambling case.

00:51:18

Yeah. Just a little clip of. Of the interrogation.

00:51:22

Yeah, the interrogation is important. This is. I mean, this one, I'll.

00:51:27

All right. This one. This one, I will say hand up.

00:51:29

I was.

00:51:30

I was. During the talk. This one, I was.

00:51:32

That's very big of you, Hank.

00:51:33

I was just.

00:51:35

No, that's all I'm asking. Admit you were trying to be a Did.

00:51:38

I wasn't.

00:51:38

I was trying.

00:51:39

What about when you were like, how about Bo?

00:51:41

How about Bo?

00:51:43

Yes, you did.

00:51:44

You know that you did. Yes, because. Yes, Bo. Nick made one throw, and you were like, how about Bo?

00:51:54

Why?

00:51:54

Like, what other way were you doing that other than trying to be a. When I came in. When I came into this cave after the Phillies blew it last night, anything that I wasn't in a good mood and you were doing it. Trying to be a. Admit that you were trying to be a. What, like how me just keep saying.

00:52:16

Back there, you should have hit.

00:52:17

Be like, look at that throw from Bo, he. Then you try to be an.

00:52:21

It was a good thrower.

00:52:22

Admit it.

00:52:24

Admit it. Admit it.

00:52:29

You were trying to be a. Oh.

00:52:32

It just keeps going.

00:52:34

That was.

00:52:34

That was. That was over the line.

00:52:36

I know. People will be like, oh, like, you know, I had some people being like, oh, like, how could you let this happen? This is the most, like, guys watching football thing. You. If you don't get in a fight with your friends about gambling, Your. Your teams, everything like this. Everyone has been in this situation. What. Someone's winning, someone's losing. It sucks. Guess what? But you guys are good now, right? Yeah. You moved on.

00:52:59

I bet on the Patriots tonight because I knew I could just feel that this was a Hank day.

00:53:03

Yeah, right. You got to leave. That's the trick is when you can feel the Hank days coming along, it's way better to be on the Hank side of history than.

00:53:09

Yeah. Oh, yeah. You got to just hop on. But it's. It's. It's a very. It's very telling when people, like, are like, oh, man, this is ridiculous. Like, they're fighting over the. That just not that serious. Yeah. That just shows that you just don't have. Have friends, because this is. If. If we weren't doing this job, if we weren't doing this podcast, I'd be sitting in a basement somewhere with my friends, probably doing similar things where I'd be mad if I lost and they won or I won and they lost. It just happens. So you guys are good.

00:53:36

Yeah.

00:53:36

I also think Max, you know, and again, like, I'm fine. Like, I'm. We're. We're good friends, and I will be the punching bag for the Phillies. Like, Max's anger that came out to me was at the Phillies and not me.

00:53:48

And I.

00:53:49

And I understand that.

00:53:50

Yeah, that's fair.

00:53:52

You need. You need something to get mad at when your team. Like. Like, if your team loses you. You can't be like, my team just sucks. You got to be. Also get mad at someone.

00:53:59

I was. I'm still down severely bad from that.

00:54:02

Phillies.

00:54:02

Yeah.

00:54:03

And Penn State. And Penn State playoff baseball sucks.

00:54:07

And. And, yeah, the Eagles. That was a tough loss. Broncos, though.

00:54:11

Congrats to the Broncos. I bet. Hank, I have a blind resume if you want a blind resume.

00:54:14

Yeah, I love a blind resume.

00:54:15

Okay. Who should I. Hank. Let me ask you this one, please. This one will be for Hank, so I'm not going to try to troll Max anymore. I'll just go to my boy Hank.

00:54:23

All right.

00:54:24

Quarterback one. This by the way, I'll just frame this. This blind Resume, it features two quarterbacks that have two common opponents this season.

00:54:33

Okay.

00:54:34

Played the same teams. Two common opponents against those two common opponents. Quarterback one. In two games, 253 yards passing combined. Yeah. Yeah. Come on. Zero touchdowns, zero picks. Quarterback two. Six hundred and ten yards passing, three touchdowns, two interceptions in regulation. Gotta go quarterback, too. So quarterback one is actually Super bowl champion. Jalen Hurts.

00:55:08

Oh.

00:55:09

Quarterback two is Russell Wilson.

00:55:12

Oh.

00:55:13

Super bowl champion.

00:55:14

Wow.

00:55:15

I just thought that was interesting.

00:55:16

What are the common. What are the two common.

00:55:18

The Cowboys.

00:55:18

The Cowboys and the Chiefs.

00:55:20

Chiefs. Wow.

00:55:22

I thought that was interesting.

00:55:23

That is interesting. Yeah.

00:55:25

Very interesting.

00:55:25

And how many. How many yards, please?

00:55:28

Russell Wilson, 610 yards.

00:55:30

How many yards did he have against the Cowboys?

00:55:32

He had a lot of those.

00:55:33

450.

00:55:34

He had a lot of those yards against the Cowboys. It was basically a fine resident. It was a Cowboys stat. And then I was like, I gotta add these shitty chief stats. And this is all regulation only regulation only.

00:55:46

And has nothing to do with the games this week.

00:55:49

I know.

00:55:50

You just got a blind resume.

00:55:51

We're talking ball because we're talking about quarterback.

00:55:54

Yeah. But we're blind resume podcasts.

00:55:55

Yeah, we're talking about that. Quarterbacks in the NFL.

00:55:57

I like how we're actually like, blind blind resumes. Because audio blind resumes are the worst version to. To consume them.

00:56:05

Yeah.

00:56:05

Because every time you start saying the numbers, I just get.

00:56:08

You start to forget the numbers.

00:56:09

Yeah, Instantly. I really just only pick whoever the second.

00:56:13

Yeah. Grouping in numbers is, because that's always the better one.

00:56:16

Yeah. Okay, go. Are we good, boys?

00:56:19

What? Max?

00:56:20

I have to pee. Are we done?

00:56:21

Are we good? Yes. All right. You want to apologize to Hank?

00:56:24

No.

00:56:25

No, I apologize for the dick and.

00:56:27

The parlay in the parlay and saying this parlay was going to lose.

00:56:30

Stupid fucking parlays.

00:56:32

Yeah. 15 to 1 for the.

00:56:34

For the people.

00:56:35

I. I don't want to say I apologize for that, but I was wrong about that.

00:56:39

Okay.

00:56:40

Max, I would like you to apologize to Hank for touching his bubble.

00:56:42

I. I said that. That was the first thing I said.

00:56:44

First bubble.

00:56:45

Yeah.

00:56:47

I'm sorry. I'm sorry for making you. Making sure you're watching a good bonus. I don't know why that might have been poking the bear.

00:56:53

Thank you, Hank. Yeah.

00:56:54

Sometimes I see red and I just. I just do things.

00:56:57

They just start grabbing the closest thing.

00:56:59

To getting physical without actually punching you.

00:57:01

Yeah, no, you were. You were actively surveying Hank and his, like, environment to find Something that you physically hit that wasn't his body.

00:57:09

I saw someone. Someone was like, max is going to do this the wrong guy one day and get his ass kicked. It's like we're in the gambling cave with our friends.

00:57:17

I've known Hank for six years now.

00:57:19

Yeah.

00:57:20

This is not.

00:57:21

We're not. This is a random guy at the bar. You guys are fighting. I was just like, that's like two brothers fighting. Who the fuck cares? It's funny.

00:57:28

You're tough around Hank. I'd like to see you try that shit against Stephen.

00:57:31

Che. We always.

00:57:33

I probably wouldn't do it.

00:57:34

I wouldn't. No, I know. That's. That's truth.

00:57:36

Yeah.

00:57:37

All right, Max, go pee. Can you. Can you admit that you're being a dick?

00:57:42

I really wasn't.

00:57:43

He's out of the room. You can tell us.

00:57:46

I, I, I literally, there was one, like, minor, like, good throw by Bo, but, like, in the grand scheme of things. And yeah, he was dick. Like, that's a nothing. Obviously, it's a. It's a slight troll. But, like, if I was trying to be a dick, I could have been a much bigger. That that was just, like, testing the waters. And I realized, like, he was.

00:58:07

What did I say right when it was happening? I was like, the only thing that I don't. I take Max aside on is the dotting. Dotting him. Dottington Bones nickname would drive me. It's terrible. Drive me insane. That part would drive me insane.

00:58:20

But, like, when I root for my.

00:58:21

Quarterbacks, I say dot. Yeah, yeah. You put. You make names of them with dots.

00:58:26

So that's where it's like. That's an existing. Yeah, I'm just doing me. Focused on what I'm betting on and rooting for if that bothers you.

00:58:33

That's a you problem, Bones. All right. I think we're making merch Doddington Bones. Dude, the best is when Max, when he, when he does that with his hands, you just know it's on. I think he's the best swearer we've got. I came to that revelation the other night. It was when he was doing his Phillies video at the wedding he was at. The way he says it's because there's.

00:58:53

Usually, like, a little bit of spit that comes out.

00:58:55

Yeah. And then. And it's just. Fuck. This show is sponsored by BetterHelp. October 10th is World Mental Health Day and this year we're saying thank you therapists. Life can be tough on and off the field and better help. Therapists have helped over 5 million people worldwide on their mental health journeys. That's millions of stories, millions of journeys and behind everyone is a therapist who showed up, listened and helped someone take a step forward. Moments in therapy like learning to relate to your kids, healing relationships or coping with loss can change lives. BetterHelp does the initial matching work for you so you can focus on your therapy goals. A short questionnaire helps identify your needs and preferences and their 12 plus years of experience in industry leading match fulfillment rate mean they typically get it right for the first time. I see a therapist every week. It's great. Just talk out all your problems, talk out any issues. Even if you think you're having a great week, there's something always to talk to or talk about, especially with someone who's unbiased and doesn't come at it from a personal level. So it's great to talk to a therapist. This World Mental Health Day, we're celebrating the therapists who've helped millions of people take a step forward.

If you're ready to find the right therapist for you, BetterHelp can help you start that journey. Our listeners get 10% off their first month at betterhelp.compmt that's BetterHelp. H E L p.compmt okay, back to the games. Saints 24, Giants 14 this is a crazy game. Spencer Rattler, officially a winning quarterback in the NFL. He's won a game. Believe him when he tells you. He said, I feel like I'm not playing, losing football this week. He then went out and won, and he actually played well. He, like, made some nice throws, made some nice runs, didn't. Was under pressure, did not get sacked. So did a good job with that. Didn't turn the ball over. This, though, was more about the Giants. It felt like the Giants, they were riding the high from Jackson Dart last week. They started the game. Two touchdown drives. They're up 14 to three. Their next seven possessions went punt, punt, fumble, fumble, fumble. That was returned for a touchdown. Interception. Interception. They had five straight possessions with turnovers and the wheels just kind of fell off. And Jackson Dart, maybe not his best, you know, second game, he's still a rookie.

01:02:24

The flea flicker miss that he had, that felt like a pretty big moment. And yeah, it was five straight turnovers. First time it's happened since 2016.

01:02:32

Now, some of that was he met five straight. Some of that was because Scatterboo had the wrong gloves on.

01:02:36

On.

01:02:37

Yes.

01:02:37

You need to have new gloves that were. That were brought to him on the sidelines. Unfortunate that got caught by the cameras. People are gonna latch onto that for, like, the next year for him.

01:02:44

Yep.

01:02:45

But, yeah, it was Jackson Dart. He tries to do too much sometimes. Yeah, that's. He's. He's officially entered that. It's not only like, it's not always a bad thing because you can control it. Josh Allen's gotten really good. He used to do that all the time. But also Jackson Dart, he. He kind of spazzes out sometimes in the middle of plays. It's a college thing where it's like, that's what he always used to do. And when you spaz out in the NFL, you end up getting the ball taken away from you by somebody who's much, much better than a college defender.

01:03:14

Yeah. In Jackson darts defense, he won his first start last week. He started this game. Two touchdown drives. He probably in his head was like, I'm the man. And then he got humbled pretty quickly. And the Saints, by the way, the Saints, in terms of bad teams, one in four teams besides the Seahawks game, they've been in every single game. They fight hard. This game, they were down so quickly, and then they came back, they ended up scoring. We have. They went on a 23.0run like they're a bad team that's still trying really hard, and it's good For Kellen Moore. Good. For Spencer Rattler, get their first win in the Dome. It felt like it was rocking. Also. This is the first QB drafted by the Saints to win a game since 19 for the Saints since 1998. Yeah.

01:04:03

Which is crazy. Danny Werfel was the last one who did it.

01:04:06

Nuts.

01:04:06

And then if you go before me, you probably have to go back a while, too. But this, I think. I think Spence Rattler is probably the second best 1 in 10 quarterback of all time.

01:04:15

Who the best being?

01:04:17

Because I think wasn't Troy Aikman. Didn't he have.

01:04:19

Was he 1 in 10?

01:04:20

I think he might have been 1 in 10. Yeah.

01:04:22

I think his first year, he was 1 in 15.

01:04:24

In his first 11 games, he might have.

01:04:26

I think they won. Was it. Did they.

01:04:28

Oh, he was 0 and 11.

01:04:29

Yeah, I think they won.

01:04:30

Troy.

01:04:31

Yeah.

01:04:31

Troy Aikman was 0 and 11.

01:04:34

Yeah. Spencer Rattler, he's. He won a game. I'm happy he won a game.

01:04:38

Very happy. They. They got to do club dub for the first time in a long time in New Orleans.

01:04:43

Yep. Where they.

01:04:44

They did the boombox and the Leds and all that stuff. So. Yeah, good for them also. But Rashid Shahid, so fast. Might be. Might be the best, like, pure deep threat guy.

01:04:55

Yeah.

01:04:56

The NFL always needs a few of.

01:04:58

Those guys, and he's got the best name.

01:04:59

He's got the best name. But in terms of, like, guys that specialize in just being really, really fast and faster than everybody else and getting vertical, I feel like Rashid Shahid is definitely. It's like him. George Pickens is also an elite deep threat, but Shahid is like the classic deep threat where he's just like, I'm gonna run straight. Nobody's gonna be able to cover me for 40 yards, and they'll just run past you and catch a touchdown. Also, Jackson dart had. There were a couple bad drops, too. Really bad drops.

01:05:25

Yeah.

01:05:26

On some throws that he had. That.

01:05:27

That fleet.

01:05:27

That could have changed.

01:05:28

He wants that one back.

01:05:29

Yeah, he would like that one back.

01:05:30

For sure, but that wouldn't have been nice, I feel. Yeah.

01:05:33

Your. Your receivers got to help out a rookie quarterback. I think Slayton might have.

01:05:37

Who they don't have. Malik neighbors. Yeah, we also had. So I looked it up. Up the Saints since the bye week last year, they're owing nine against every team they've played, except the Giants are 2. 0. So they're 2 and 9 since the bye week last year. They're 2. 0 against the Giants. 0 nine against everyone. Else.

01:05:56

All right.

01:05:56

Brian Dable's got a Saints problem.

01:05:58

Yeah, he does.

01:05:59

He's got a Saints problem.

01:06:02

I still think the Giants are going to be okay. I think there'll be an okay. They'll be like, respect. Okay. In terms of. I don't think that Dable is going to get fired.

01:06:13

How many wins do they have to have for Dable to keep his job?

01:06:17

New quarterback?

01:06:18

I'm going to say five.

01:06:19

It's. It depends. It depends on. On how Dart looks like. If they lose a bunch of football games but Dart gets better, then you can justify it. I think.

01:06:30

I don't know if you think that he keeps his job if they win three games.

01:06:34

No, not three. I think. I think if they win, I'd say five or six games, you might be safe.

01:06:40

Can I just read off to you their next grouping of opponents? They have the Eagles on Thursday. They have to play at the Broncos. They have to play at the Eagles. They have to play the 49ers. They have to play at the Bears. They have to play the packers and then the Lions.

01:06:56

It's tough.

01:06:57

It's going to be tough.

01:06:58

That's tough.

01:06:58

Then they had. Then they finished the season with the. At the Patriots. Commanders, Vikings, Raiders, Cowboys, maybe. Maybe a. Maybe a few rip off a few wins late.

01:07:08

I could see them getting to five or six. Yeah.

01:07:10

And the Malik Neighbors thing is just such a bummer for the Giants because, like, that was the. You know, he's so dynamic and then you have a chance in some of these games. And again, Jackson starts his second start, so you can't really, like, take a lot from this, but I think. I think Dable might be in trouble if. If he doesn't. They have to win a few games. It can't just be Jackson. Dart looked okay.

01:07:29

No, I'd say if they win five games and. And Dart looks like he's playing good football towards the end of the year.

01:07:35

Yeah.

01:07:35

I can see the mayor's being like, we don't want to. We don't want to switch things up.

01:07:38

Yeah, that's fair. Okay. And congrats to the Saints. That's good. I'm happy for Spencer Rattler. That became a bummer that every week.

01:07:44

We'Re just like, yeah, because he was bad, but he wasn't Owen 10 bad.

01:07:49

Yeah. They're. The Giants were the only NFL team over the last 30 seasons to score a touchdown on their first two drives and have a turnover on five straight drives in the same game. Brian Dable was asked about that. He said Hard to do. That's a fact. They did. They did something that was very difficult today.

01:08:06

You know what's crazy is that the Giants haven't won back to back games since 2023. And that was. That was Tommy DeVito. That was Tommy DeVito.

01:08:15

That was that. That was that thing.

01:08:17

That was the thing when we were doing the fingers. Yeah, that was. That was that era.

01:08:20

That felt good, though.

01:08:21

And they were. They were kind of close. This game was a lot closer than it really should have been, considering all the turnovers.

01:08:28

Yeah. Yeah, I would say so. Yeah. I mean, five straight. Five straight possessions with a turnover is pretty insane.

01:08:34

Yeah. It's tough to win those games.

01:08:35

All right, Next up, Cowboys 37, Jets 22. Let's start with the Cowboys. Dak is playing very good football. Oh yeah. Booger McFarland said he's the MVP. I think Booger might have even said it's not close, which I would disagree with that because there's a couple guys who it's definitely close with.

01:08:57

Yeah, it is close. But I think Dax definitely in the. We're having the conversation right now.

01:09:01

He's in the conversation. He actually was asked about that Dak Prescott because he. There were, there were people fans chanting mvp. He said my ears work. So I did hear it, but I didn't hear it. It's week five.

01:09:11

I did hear it, but I didn't hear it. That's actually a perfect answer from a quarterback.

01:09:15

Yeah, but Dak has been great. Their Cowboys offense is electric. Javante Williams is awesome. He had 135 yards. He had I think 76 yards after missed tackles. George Pickens has five touchdowns. George Pickens is about to make a lot of money.

01:09:30

He's going to get paid.

01:09:31

He's making. He has been, I mean like this CD Lamb injury has been great for George Pickens and the fact that these deep, although he was getting some, some, a lot of, you know, shots even with CD But George Pickens been awesome. Javante Williams been awesome. Dax been awesome. Jake Ferguson has been insane. Jake Ferguson has 41 catches on the season.

01:09:51

So the crazy thing about Pickens is now he's doing against like without a doubt the number one cornerback on him.

01:09:57

Yeah.

01:09:58

So like he, he put up some nice deep catches against sauce and yeah, the Cowboys offense is legit. Legit.

01:10:05

Yeah. So Dak on the season, he's 1,356 yards passing and they got second 10 touchdowns, three picks, 71.3% completion percentage. He's. He's been very, very Good. And like, the Cowboys are in that fun category because their defense isn't great, although it's got. It's gotten a little bit better. But their. Their offense, especially when they get CD back, they should be able to score on anyone. They should make every game entertaining that they're in.

01:10:32

Yeah, I mean, this was. This was a up game for their defense, though.

01:10:35

Yeah.

01:10:36

They walked away feeling a lot better about that. They can be like, yeah, we. I guess we fixed it this. This week. Did you fix it or was it just memes?

01:10:45

The Jets.

01:10:47

Or was it the Jets?

01:10:48

I think it was just the Jets.

01:10:51

Now, you tweeted out that the jets have been eliminated from postseason contention.

01:10:55

That's two weeks ago.

01:10:57

Okay. But now you tweet out that they're on the clock.

01:10:59

They're on the clock. It's over. This is the worst. This is the worst team in football and probably the worst team I've ever watched.

01:11:05

This is.

01:11:05

I think the 2020 team is worse.

01:11:07

But, yeah, they are the last team without a win. I don't understand it because it's like they do have. They kind of did the exact same thing as they did against Miami, where it's like, opening drive, get all the way down the field. I think they might have been a penalty or something. Had to settle for a field goal. Then they drive the ball again, fumble again. It's like they get. I saw a stat. They had 19 plays of 10 plus yards. I know there was some garbage time in here, but that's an explosive offense. But, yeah, they're just not good.

01:11:41

No, they're not good. And then, so for the offense, you're. You have to play perfect because the. The defense is. Is that bad.

01:11:49

Right? This is where you gotta. You gotta go the meme strategy. You're just drafting all defense next year.

01:11:53

You know what's all defense?

01:11:55

All defense.

01:11:55

You know what's crazy is that the jets don't have a single takeaway. Yeah, it's five games.

01:12:00

First team ever in the history of the NFL, which. That. That stat seems counterintuitive. First 05 team to start the season, own five and have zero takeaways.

01:12:10

Zero takeaways is crazy for you think.

01:12:13

All the own coach.

01:12:14

And I also feel like the jets have talent on defense.

01:12:18

So here's the thing about that. Like, the. The football guys of the world are saying that all the guys they signed in free agency and brought back don't fit the scheme of Steve Wilkes, which I don't know how that makes sense. Just go to the Other scheme.

01:12:33

Yeah, yeah, adapt like is that coach to your players? Yeah. Scheme towards your players.

01:12:39

Yeah, they're just like, oh well, just got to coach them up. And they just say that after every single week and they've been getting worse.

01:12:46

Yeah, that is pretty crazy. Like just, just play to your players.

01:12:50

Strengths like they are missing a couple guys. But still it just, it's so brutal.

01:12:56

Well, when it comes to the craziest part of this whole no takeaways thing is at some point you would just luckily recover one of the fumbles. Right.

01:13:04

All the fumbles just bounce right back to the other team.

01:13:07

There's. I don't think you guys have even come close to recovering a fumble.

01:13:10

I think we were close one time, but then there was a flag.

01:13:14

It sucks. Justin Fields isn't giving up though. Memes. You see his quote about there's never been an own five team that has made the playoffs.

01:13:21

I did see that.

01:13:22

He said there's a first time for everything, brother.

01:13:25

Yeah. Justin Fields is perfect for this team. He's just. You don't, you can't really evaluate what he is because defense is so bad.

01:13:31

But we know what he is.

01:13:33

You know what he is, but you don't know what he is. He's a perfect quarterback to lose. To lose games and that's it. That's all he is.

01:13:42

I mean he had like.

01:13:43

Well then you know what he is.

01:13:47

Yeah, but you don't know what he is.

01:13:48

But if you say that he's the perfect quarterback to lose games, you know what he is.

01:13:53

Yeah, he's a loser.

01:13:55

That was hard. A capital L. I still root for Justin Fields. It's just there's times where it's just it.

01:14:04

Yeah. Yeah. I mean he had, he had a good stat line today. But if you watch the game, you don't walk away being like that's the guy that's going to lead you.

01:14:12

That's kind of his thing.

01:14:13

Yeah.

01:14:14

Like where the stats will look okay and then he'll have a player to. That will pop. But it's like if you watch down to down, you're like, this doesn't seem super functional.

01:14:26

Yeah, that's a fair assessment. Garbage time. He's electric.

01:14:30

Did you allow yourself? Because it got so. There was so much garbage time that for a second I thought like maybe, maybe the jets, they looked like they were. They're playing hard.

01:14:38

In the fourth quarter when it was.

01:14:40

When it was a two score game, I was like. And then they just drove down the field.

01:14:45

Yeah.

01:14:46

By the way, you know you got screwed on the sky cam. We mean the ball that got tipped and then hit the sky cam. I was watching Football Night in America and our good friend Mike Florio said that by rule, that should have been a redo of a down. So you should have had third and goal again.

01:15:07

Would have changed the entire game.

01:15:09

Yeah.

01:15:09

Does that, does that rule change if the ball is tipped?

01:15:12

Yeah. He know. He said.

01:15:13

He said no matter what happens, if.

01:15:14

It hits it, it has to be re. Redo a redo. Wow. Yeah. Crazy. What do we. What do we say about Aaron Glenn's sad field goal?

01:15:22

It wasn't a sad field goal.

01:15:24

It was a somewhat sad because game to three score. I guess that. I guess that is true. But it was still a semi sad field. It was semi.

01:15:33

It was semi sad. But if it goes 30 to three, game to a three score, like it goes from four to three, that it.

01:15:41

Was 30 to three. And they kicked a field goal.

01:15:45

They kicked the field goal.

01:15:46

Yeah.

01:15:47

Cut it to three score. Then they got the touchdown. Cut it to two score. That is how the. That's the.

01:15:51

You're right, you're right, you're right. It just. Anytime you see a field goal team lining up for a field goal down 33, that. That is by definition sad.

01:16:00

It is sad, but you do have to figure out a way to be like, well, we could. Yeah, hypothetically, we could win.

01:16:05

Where are you on Aaron Glenn?

01:16:07

Overall?

01:16:09

I don't know. This team fucking sucks.

01:16:12

Yeah, they do.

01:16:13

Do you think this is the worst team you've seen?

01:16:15

I. I think 20. 20. 2020 was really bad. That was the COVID year and it was just like instant loss. I just remember playing 49ers, they did jetsuite with Raheem Mostert and it was. It was a 80 yard touchdown to start a game.

01:16:30

Yeah.

01:16:31

Yeah.

01:16:31

Is this the most embarrassing team that you've watched? Like, are you personally embarrassed by the Jets?

01:16:41

The Mono jets were pretty bad.

01:16:47

Yeah.

01:16:47

What they had. They. They brought out Luke Folk who's a. Washington.

01:16:51

Washington. Yeah, I remember him.

01:16:53

Quarterback.

01:16:54

Yeah.

01:16:54

Third string behind Trevor Simeon who broke his leg the week before because again, Sam Darnold had mono. And I think they got one first down that game against the Eagles.

01:17:05

Yeah.

01:17:05

Was that the. The COVID year where it was like the Broncos where they. They had a guy playing quarterback that didn't play quarterback.

01:17:13

Yeah.

01:17:13

Because Blake Bortles accidentally gave everybody Covid.

01:17:15

Yep.

01:17:16

What memes. Are you at least at a point now 05, where you're not going to let them affect Your mood.

01:17:24

Yeah. I thought they actually had a chance. Say, I will never think that.

01:17:28

Okay, so that's good. Like, there's a freeing moment there where you're like, they can't hurt me anymore.

01:17:34

They could figure out a way.

01:17:35

They could. They could definitely figure out a way.

01:17:37

But today was final straw. The Cowboys had four or five linemen out. They had CD Lamb out. They had their slot receiver out. The list goes on and on. Then they, they had two, two defensive starters also go out during the game. They're the last, they're the last ranked defense in the league. Like, I don't know what we're doing. I just figure out a way to win that game. They were favorites at kickoff.

01:18:03

I just realized too, like this happened. I asked if they could still hurt you because I've been in that spot where it's like, hey, at least they can't hurt me in this season anymore. And then I just, it just popped in my head that the whole Mark Sanchez thing happened and he's like the best quarterback you've had in a while.

01:18:22

Yeah.

01:18:24

What did you feel? So, Mark Sanchez, for people who missed it, a report came out on Friday that he got stabbed and was. Had like life threatening injuries. Everyone rushed Twitter to be like, I hope he's okay. He's great guy. Then it comes out, the report is that he was running wind sprints in an alley in Indianapolis. Got in a fight with like a truck driver who's trying to park, who's a doordash. A doordash driver was trying to park, started beating the out of this guy. This is all alleged, but I saw the pictures of the guy he was fighting and it was brutal. Gnarly.

01:18:55

Yeah.

01:18:56

Then the guy pepper sprayed Mark Sanchez and then stabbed him because he was afraid that he was gonna die because Mark Sanchez was beating him so bad.

01:19:04

It was a 60 year old or a 69 year old guy. Yeah.

01:19:06

And the guy looked pretty fucked up.

01:19:08

Yeah.

01:19:09

Bad Mark Sand. So it was like, everyone was like, oh man, I hope he's Mark Sanchez. Okay. And then the story about five hours later is like, oh, wait, Mark Sanchez almost killed a guy. Yeah.

01:19:21

Then they said, we arrested Mark Sanchez in the hospital. That is the worst hangover of all time. I spent the last day thinking about it and running through the different scenarios. I think if you're in a hospital bed recovering from stab wounds, you get arrested in your hospital bed. And that is the worst way to spend a day. Coming down.

01:19:40

Don't forget. Probably sore from running drunk. Wind sprints.

01:19:45

That's also probably true. I want to know more about the wind sprints also. It was the Raiders game, right?

01:19:51

Yeah.

01:19:52

They should have let him call the game. Yeah, they should have. They should have let Mark Sanchez call the game from the hospital bed. Yeah, that would have been a nice touch to it.

01:20:00

Hope.

01:20:00

Hope the guy that got the beat out of him is okay.

01:20:04

Yes.

01:20:05

Hope Mark Sanchez is okay. And. Yeah, I. Maybe he was partaking in some stuff that he shouldn't have. I don't want.

01:20:13

I don't know.

01:20:13

I don't want to speculate, so I'm not going to speculate, but. Bad hangover.

01:20:17

Yeah. So that all happened to the jets this weekend. Have you started the rebuild again?

01:20:23

I haven't started yet.

01:20:25

I left here at halftime, people. Oh, no. Oh, I'm talking about your Madden rebuild.

01:20:30

No, I know. I'm just also just thinking out loud.

01:20:32

Yeah.

01:20:32

No, literally was like I came looking for memes at halftime, and it was like he was here a second ago, and then I talked to him after the game. He's like, yeah, I just. I just drove home.

01:20:43

Memes. Are you. I think you're too good for the jets in terms of the Madden stuff. I don't think they deserve you.

01:20:49

No, I literally. I accumulated 20. 20, 20, 20, 26 draft picks, and they fired me.

01:20:57

Yeah. It's disgusting. It's bad ownership.

01:21:01

Yeah. I was going to draft well, too.

01:21:03

Oh, man. You should give it another shot and let us know. People were asking for you to stream it. I would watch that stream.

01:21:09

I wouldn't.

01:21:10

I would. Well, you wouldn't have to. You'd be in it.

01:21:12

Sure.

01:21:13

Yeah.

01:21:14

Also, credit to memes if you follow any of our socials. Pardon my take, Instagram, Twitter. We all got significantly fatter on Friday on all of the show. Graphics. Graphics. Mm. It was great. What. What happened? Can you just give us a little insight into memes brain on Friday? Because it was every single new graphic. Made me laugh even harder.

01:21:34

So I was driving home Thursday.

01:21:37

Yeah.

01:21:37

Night. And on the drive home, I. I made you guys fat.

01:21:44

So Shane graphics.

01:21:46

Shane does the graphics.

01:21:47

And then you went into the Dropbox. You downloaded every graphic that Shane made, and then you added a fat filter onto all of them. Yep.

01:21:56

Tweeted them out throughout the day.

01:21:57

Except for Max. You didn't add a fat filter onto Max. Why is that?

01:22:00

Didn't work on them. Didn't want to say that.

01:22:03

Out.

01:22:04

I think it's. I think it's the beer.

01:22:05

What? So did it make you feel a little bit better? After the week you had.

01:22:09

Had. Oh, yeah.

01:22:11

Okay, good. That's. That's great. That was, like, a really good outlet for you to. To take out on us.

01:22:19

Yeah, I've done that once before. So one of the. One of those days, Hank. Hank won and everybody else lost. It was Shane's, like, first week here. He sent a thumbnail. I was just like, just make Hank fat.

01:22:36

Oh, we're a good functioning podcast. Yeah. Just had a max and Hank got a little physical today. Memes is taking out is so angry at us. He's like, I'm just gonna make them all fat. It's good, but we. I think we're all in a good place right now.

01:22:51

Yeah.

01:22:51

Counterpoint has counter fucking voodoo doll of me that he feeds his dog.

01:22:56

It's not a voodoo doll. That's a dog toy.

01:22:58

Yeah, that's a dog and it's adorable.

01:22:59

And by the way, it is by far Blake's favorite toy. This morning, I let Blake downstairs.

01:23:04

My mom texted me and was like, this is rude.

01:23:06

I swear to God. Let Blake downstairs this morning. First thing he did was he sprinted to get his Blake toy or his Hank toy. It's his favorite toy. He couldn't wait. That's. That's why he wakes up every morning. He's like, I want to play my friend Hank. I can't wait to bring Hank over to the house. So he recognizes Hank from being like the real life sized version of his toy. He's gonna love you.

01:23:27

We really are the friend of that Gumby video.

01:23:29

Yeah, it's the company. Yeah, exactly. He's gonna be like, oh, my God, my toys here. And he's awesome and he's playing with it.

01:23:34

Yeah. We are the Frenemies podcast.

01:23:36

He did tear you apart. The other.

01:23:37

What are you gonna say, man?

01:23:38

This is what we should send to the Golden Globes.

01:23:40

Yes. Like, do these guys like each other? We need to do that. Golden Globes cut up. All right, next up, Colts 40, Raiders 6. Colts are juggernaut. That throw Daniel Jones made to Michael Pittman for a touchdown, I know. It was only like a six yard touchdown.

01:24:00

If you.

01:24:00

If you're just looking at the box score, you probably aren't impressed. Go, go. Look at that throw. That is the throw that Daniel Jones is seeing things differently than he has in a long time because he was going not across his body, but he was moving right, and there was a very small window back of the end zone, two defenders, and he threw an absolute laser beam to Michael Pittman for a touchdown. And you're like, that's it. That's Daniel Jones. He's seeing the field. He's coached in a way now that he's get. He's like getting this. And the Colts are just good. Jonathan Taylor, another three touchdowns. Their defense was awesome. The Colts are just good.

01:24:40

Yeah, they're really good. And they're using Tyler Warren all the time. They're finding new inventive ways to get Tyler Warren with the ball. It's. It's remarkable, the difference in these Colts as compared to a year ago.

01:24:52

Colts.

01:24:53

Yeah, it is. It's like an entire turnaround. And yeah, Daniel Jones, he's playing fast and he's like, he's super confident and it's good to see, like, I feel happy watching him play football.

01:25:03

Yeah. Tyler Warren is the first tight end in NFL history with 300 plus receiving yards and two TDs in his first five career games. Nice pick polls.

01:25:14

But Daniel Jones also had a really good throw to Tyler Warren for one of those touchdowns where he just like, kind of put it over his shoulder.

01:25:19

Yeah.

01:25:20

On the sidelines. He's just. He's just really. Daniel Jones. Let's. Let's just talk about. Daniel Jones is a Pro bowl quarterback.

01:25:26

He's good at. He's good at football.

01:25:28

He's good. He's a very good. He's.

01:25:30

And the Colts are a good football.

01:25:32

When Booger said he. Maybe if he's Andy Dalton. He is. He's way better than anyone could have expected.

01:25:37

Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. And the Colts, I don't. I know we're. We've talked a little scheduling today, but like, they play the Cardinals at the Chargers and the titans, their next three. The Colts could very well be a 6 and 2, possibly even 7. One team going into November. Like, they're. I don't. I don't see it like their one loss is. Was last week against the Rams when they absolutely beat themselves and like, had all those mistakes. They're just a really good team. And they were, you know, another efficient day. 8 for 10 on third down. They're a really, really good team. They can beat you multiple ways. The Raiders, on the other hand.

01:26:18

Are.

01:26:18

We going to maybe bench Geno Smith because are we going to do the.

01:26:23

Can he Pickett experiment again?

01:26:24

He's got nine interceptions this season.

01:26:27

That's the real Geno hasn't showed up yet.

01:26:29

Through five weeks. He has nine interceptions. I don't know what that would. That would be what, 32 interceptions on the year. Because here's the game schedule.

01:26:38

Let me Break it down for. For the Raiders fans. He's going to look really good next week, and he's going to be awesome. You guys are going to win. And they're playing Tessie Titans.

01:26:51

Oh.

01:26:52

So.

01:26:52

Yeah.

01:26:52

Yeah. So he might not look good. He's going to look great next week.

01:26:55

I don't know about that.

01:26:56

And you'll be like, yep, yep, Gino, Gino's back. We're good to go. And then it's going to fall apart again.

01:27:03

Yeah. So I. This is kind of my own sign of maybe this is like, I. When I think a quarterback is about to be done who hasn't had all the accolades, hasn't won a Super bowl, that stuff, I just. I go look and see how much money they made, and I'm like, hey, that's pretty, pretty nice. Geno Smith after 2016, when he left the jets, and basically it was like, hey, he could be out of the league, like, in a day, you know? You know what I mean? Like, he went to the Giants, then he bounced around. So after the 2016 season, he had made $5 million playing football. After this season, how much money is Geno Smith going to be. Have made playing football?

01:27:44

I think 130. I think 100, 107.

01:27:48

That's a really good career.

01:27:49

Geno Smith, awesome career.

01:27:51

You had a. You had a moment, you had a crossroads where there was a chance that you were not going to make more than like a couple million as a backup and then be out of the league.

01:27:59

Yep.

01:28:00

You made 107 million dol. You got a nice time in Seattle. It's bad, though, right now.

01:28:06

It's pretty bad.

01:28:07

It's really bad.

01:28:08

But Pete Carroll, he seems like he's your ride or die. He might stick with you for a little bit also. I think he's made a lot of that money in states that don't have state income tax.

01:28:16

Oh, that's so. That's awesome.

01:28:17

So he's gotten to keep a bunch of them.

01:28:19

Yeah. Good job.

01:28:19

So if you had to pick, like, which state to only make the 5 million, New York's probably the one.

01:28:23

Yeah. But it's bad.

01:28:26

It's bad. But I don't really think that it. The only hope the Raiders have right now in terms of the quarterback is like, just hope that they time out who's having a good week better between Geno Smith and Kenny Pickett.

01:28:37

Yeah. No, just guess Pete Carroll kind of said that. He was like, we need to stay out there and keep practicing. We need the reps. We need the turns. That's not what's necessary. Talking about if he's going to make a switch, we need to get better and get right. So he's. He's sticking with. With Geno. They got to practice more. They got to practice.

01:28:54

Carol's been saying he's been good in practice and he.

01:28:57

And he keeps saying that there. He said, we believe we're going to be much better than this. I don't know if that's true. I don't know if they're going to be better than this.

01:29:05

I think that's what. What you see is what you get with Geno Smith.

01:29:08

Yeah. Which is. Yeah, yeah, it is.

01:29:13

It's him.

01:29:13

It just is.

01:29:14

That's true.

01:29:15

It is what it is.

01:29:15

Yeah.

01:29:16

That's what we need to say with Geno Smith. It is what it is.

01:29:19

And how many picks did he have today?

01:29:20

Two.

01:29:21

He had two. So that now he's got what, nine on nine. Nine on the year and niner. Yeah. But not in practice.

01:29:28

Non practice. I'm sure he's throwing pics.

01:29:30

Pete Carroll said he hits everything in practice.

01:29:33

Oh, okay. So not in practice.

01:29:35

Well, no, that could be interceptions too.

01:29:36

Yeah.

01:29:36

Because he didn't say what he hits. He hits literally everything in practice. Yeah.

01:29:42

Also, shout out Daniel Jones. He's actually made an extra $400,000 this year because he's won four games with over 50% of the snaps. So he just keeps making money. Yeah. Every win. That's. If I were, it's probably be a bad idea because I probably wouldn't win. But it would. It's got to feel nice to have those type of incentives.

01:30:02

Very nice.

01:30:02

In your contract.

01:30:03

Very nice. Also, I think Shaq Leonard retired as a colt at halftime.

01:30:07

Oh.

01:30:08

And I only bring that up just because we should all take a minute to remember how dominant Shaq Leonard was.

01:30:12

He had those couple years just like, holy, How'd they find this guy?

01:30:15

He was one of the best linebackers in football, if not the best linebacker in football for a brief period of time. And then injuries him up his back. He was. He was awesome. And heat seeking missiles. I believe so. Yeah.

01:30:29

Yeah. He was like a rare fine. It was like, holy shit, this guy's awesome.

01:30:32

Yeah. He was a beast. And we should all take time to respect Shaq Leonard.

01:30:35

Yes. Okay, next up, we got two more games in the app or in the early slate. Panthers 27, Dolphins 24. This looked like it was going to be another Panthers. This season is like officially over. Dead. They were down so fast in this Game. Bryce Young started so bad in this game. He started with a fumble and interception. Really bad interception.

01:30:59

Very bad.

01:31:00

And it was like, oh, the Dolphins, they might have something here. And then Rico Dowdle just ran the ball and Bryce Young did just enough. And the Panthers win this game. And they had a, you know, pretty nice comeback because it was. It did feel like it was. It was done. Rico Daddle had 206 yards. 206 yards in a touchdown. First Carolina running back to have over 200 yards since D' Angelo Williams in 2012.

01:31:26

And the connection with Xavier Leggette may. That might be the start of this relationship right now.

01:31:30

Yeah.

01:31:31

Finally found him in the end zone. Look good. I also think that Ted McMillan looks awesome.

01:31:36

Yeah, he does.

01:31:37

And going into the draft, a lot of guys were like, I don't know, they were like, kind of alluding to why you wouldn't want him on your team. He looks like a great football player.

01:31:44

But this, this was a passing of the torch. I know we had the passing the torch game for Hank on Sunday.

01:31:50

Football.

01:31:50

This is a passing of the torch of, like, which team is going to quit on the season. Because there was a moment in this game where it was 17, nothing. Panthers. And then the. The. Or, sorry, Dolphins. And then the Panthers end up winning 27, 24. So for a moment, it was like, the Panthers are going to quit on this season. And then they took that torch and they're like, gave it. They threw it basically in the Dolphins face, like, no, you quit on this season.

01:32:14

I think it's because they. I think their coaching staff is like, in theory, very good.

01:32:20

Dave Canalis.

01:32:20

I think Canalis might be a good coach.

01:32:22

Did you.

01:32:23

It's hard. It's hard to, like, get a total evaluation of how good he is as a head coach.

01:32:27

Yeah.

01:32:27

Given some of the personnel choices they've made.

01:32:29

Did you see the fans in the stands? There was a mixed group of Dolphins, Panthers fans, and they were switching back. Who would wear the brown paper bag on their head depending on who had scored last.

01:32:43

Oh, I. I thought it was gonna be like, who had the ball.

01:32:45

No.

01:32:46

Yeah, it was just. Yeah, whoever. Like, if you got scored on, then you switched it.

01:32:49

I like that.

01:32:50

Yeah. Sharing good friends. I do want to talk real quick about. We lost. We lost some good, good soldiers out there. In the podcast and community this week. There was a Carolina Panthers podcast called Meow Mix that retired from podcasting. Now, I was interested in this because, you know, we're in the business. They're in the business. I wanted to kind of see what was going on. So I actually watched their last episode. It's about 30 minutes long. And shout out. Stephen and Jerry. They did a 30 minute podcast where they basically like, hey, we've been doing this since 2019. The Panthers are 30 and 74 since they started doing it. They were lifelong Panthers fans. They're like, this is like essentially ruining our lives. It's taking up so much of our time. There was one moment, I think it was Steven who said that his kids don't even want to be Panthers fans because they see how much it bums out their dad, which is a pretty sad thing to say, but they. Yeah, they were. It was just a very funny Internet thing. I kind of want to get them on to talk one of them on to talk to them, but we lost some.

01:33:54

Some great dudes out there.

01:33:55

I do love the team specific podcast because they get really deep into the stuff that we can't cover on the show. Yeah. And that's where a lot of the news ends up coming from.

01:34:04

Yeah.

01:34:04

These guys that live and breathe like Carolina Panthers football.

01:34:07

Yeah. Oh, yeah, Max. They did do. They did post. It's a Win video. It's 13 minutes long. It's literally just a picture. And Sweet Caroline playing over on and over. I got duped by that. I was like, oh, shit, they're back. Yeah, they're not back. They didn't. They. That was just a. They just got us.

01:34:23

So that means that there's a market out there for a Carolina Panthers podcast.

01:34:26

Yeah. Although they. It was like kind of a Brett Favre retirement where they're like.

01:34:30

I think it was.

01:34:31

Jerry said that he. He's still going to do draft previews. And you're like, oh, I can still see it in there. All right. They say, so. The future of Meow Mix. Hi, all. Meow Mix, a Carolina Panthers podcast. By the way, incredible name. They got to keep the IP for that. Wait, go back. A Carolina Panthers podcast is going on indefinite hiatus. Stephen and Jerry have enjoyed bringing everyone our thoughts on the team since our first episode on July 30, 2019. In that time, we dedicated several hours a week to the production of the podcast, be it watching film, outlining the show, recording, editing, and general planning. Met some incredible people. And now they're just done. The amount of time on Sundays that we spend away from our wives and young children has become difficult to justify. I kind of understand that when your sole thing is covering a team like.

01:35:20

The Panthers and if. Yeah, if the Panthers, like, they Put you in a bad mood around your family every week.

01:35:25

Yeah, yeah, we would. We would be watching the games regardless. But locking ourselves away for six, seven hours on a Sunday just to watch it and then discuss a 42 to 13 ass whipping has become more of a chore than anything else. We don't feel it's right to keep the podcast going unless we can continue to put out weekly episodes. And right now, neither of us want to spend that amount of time talking about this organization. So this is why I want to talk to him. I got to know who brought it up first because they both were thinking about it, like, which one of them had the balls be like, hey, why are we doing this?

01:35:56

I got to think maybe the wives had something to do with it.

01:35:58

You think so?

01:35:59

They were like, like, listen, I need you to be a functional human being on Sundays and Mondays, too. Yeah. And it's just not happening. If they, let's say the Panthers, if they tank the rest of the season and they get another number one draft pick quarterback, they'll be back. I think they'll be back because they'll be excited again. Right now there's not, like, if you're a Panthers fan, this is a great win. And I think it does say a lot about, like, your coaching staff that you went down early to the Dolphins and you won. I think they're undefeated at home. Two wins at home, right? Yeah. That they were able to, like, kind of of bounce back and be a little bit resilient. I think that says something good about your coaching staff. But you probably aren't too pumped anymore about Bryce.

01:36:37

Yeah.

01:36:38

As the future.

01:36:38

Yeah.

01:36:39

The second you inject a little bit of hope into the guy, like, what are the names again?

01:36:43

Steven and Jerry.

01:36:43

Stephen and Jerry. A little bit of hope. Their whole lives are going to be better. Their mood's going to be better. Their. Their family life is going to be better.

01:36:51

Yeah.

01:36:51

And they're going to get the itch to get behind the mic again.

01:36:53

They are going to get the itch. Listen, I definitely get the itch.

01:36:56

I need the guys out there boots on the ground telling me how many. How many targets to expect for Hunter Renf this weekend.

01:37:02

I. I just. I just love their dedication since 2019. Like I said, they were 30 and 74. There was a very funny moment where they kind of talked out the realization. They're like, I don't know, like, like, I don't know how Browns fans do it. I don't know how Raiders fans do it. We kind of realized that we're the same as them. It's like, damn, that's got to be a heavy moment. And they also gave shout. They're like, we met so many great people in. In the community. They're like, rj, Bloody Nugget, Squeaky cheeks. These were exact quotes, sir Per. I love. I love these guys. I love these guys. I don't know. I. I'm rooting for Meow Mix to make a comeback. Anyone who's that passionate and just doing it and their wives are gonna hate you. Why? Because I'm trying to get it back into it.

01:37:46

Gonna hear this and be like, the number one sports podcast.

01:37:48

I just. I. I listen, like, it's. It's hard to break into this business. These guys were doing it for six years. I have ultimate respect for them. It's not like they had, like, millions of listeners and followers. They were just doing it with a small community. Love of the game. I love these guys.

01:38:03

The fact that they, like, made friends through the podcast.

01:38:06

Squeaky cheeks.

01:38:06

It's a good thing. Yeah, it's a nugget. Guys having hobbies is important.

01:38:10

Yeah.

01:38:11

What if. What if they just. What if your wife just lets you do it, like, once a month?

01:38:14

Yeah, what if you. How about that?

01:38:15

Once a month, they don't want to do it.

01:38:17

What if we just do, like, a disclaimer? Like, hey, their takes are not. Like, they're kind of half watching now. They're not taking notes.

01:38:23

Yeah. Just put it out after every win.

01:38:25

How about that?

01:38:26

You only. That's.

01:38:27

I like that.

01:38:27

That's the treat for Panthers fans.

01:38:29

Yeah.

01:38:29

You win a game.

01:38:30

Meow Mix.

01:38:31

Meow Mix. Emergency episode. Emergency pod. I always love it when there's. It doesn't matter, like, what the podcast is about if they say emergency pod. Yeah, I'm listening to it.

01:38:41

I gotta know how much. All right, we gotta. I stop talking about this because I want to. Like, if they're not. What? How.

01:38:51

How much what?

01:38:53

I don't think they're making a ton of money off it, if anything, but zero. Yeah, maybe. We always joke about, like, the Saudis in the pit, like, getting personal podcasts. What if. Pft. What if we just bought personal Meow Mix podcasts?

01:39:09

Oh, I thought you were gonna say, what if Muhammad bin Salman sponsors Meow Mix?

01:39:12

What if I just. I was just like, okay, guys, what Thousand bucks for. For a podcast after the win?

01:39:18

I would. I would like to.

01:39:19

I wouldn't mind hearing it.

01:39:20

I would like to catch.

01:39:21

You're gonna listen to a. I like.

01:39:24

These Guys, I listen to their final episode, My heart Broke.

01:39:28

So you're going to listen to a team specific Panthers podcast every time they win a game?

01:39:33

Maybe. Well, yeah, he's listening on 1.5 speed. I listen to their last one on one point.

01:39:37

They're not going to win that many more games.

01:39:38

Max. Come on, man.

01:39:40

I think the Panthers are a little frisky.

01:39:41

All right, well, we should talk to them. Yeah, they are good home.

01:39:44

I think. That's what I'm saying. They're frisky memes. You disagree? Yeah. At home.

01:39:50

At home. At home is a very good point.

01:39:52

They're not. They're not nearly as much of a bummer as they were last year. Yeah.

01:39:55

Memes.

01:39:55

That Patriots game last year week was a.

01:39:57

That was bad. Yeah, that was on the road.

01:40:00

That literally got Meow Mix off air, that loss.

01:40:03

They're literally undefeated at home.

01:40:05

Yeah, they are.

01:40:06

Wagon at home.

01:40:07

You're a Meow Mix guy, right? Memes like, you respect the fuck out of these guys, right?

01:40:11

Oh, yeah, but I also respect. I respect them quitting.

01:40:14

Yeah.

01:40:14

I had that same exact conversation today with myself.

01:40:17

Wait, what?

01:40:18

Quitting the Jets.

01:40:20

Oh, this.

01:40:22

Not this shot.

01:40:23

No memes. Would you say that this. Would you say this job is. Oh, yeah.

01:40:28

At any point in the last five days, did you have a Meow Mix type of conversation about quitting your job?

01:40:35

Yeah, like moving to Alaska or something.

01:40:37

What the fuck would you do in Alaska? You'd fucking just be the GM of the jets on. And sit at home and your son. No, there isn't.

01:40:46

In Alaska.

01:40:47

48 days. 48 hours.

01:40:50

Memes. Would you say that this job has a positive impact on your mental health.

01:40:57

During football season? No.

01:40:59

No. Yeah. No, but that goes for all of us.

01:41:03

That's true.

01:41:04

Like, I love Hank. Shut the fuck up, you.

01:41:07

Hank you, you piece of shit. You shut. I know you're not talking, but shut the up.

01:41:11

Smiling.

01:41:12

Don't say what you were about to say, you piece of.

01:41:14

He won the hungry dog one time in the last 20, 24 months, and he's. He's figured.

01:41:18

You're like Billy when he was like, I feel bad. That's what you're doing right now.

01:41:24

I. Patriots have brought me great mental health in my life.

01:41:28

In your life. Yes.

01:41:30

Yeah. No memes. Football season isn't good for any of us. Like, mentally. We just got to be stronger than Meow Mix guys.

01:41:43

Yeah. Today was a bad day.

01:41:45

Yeah, they're. Listen, Meow Mechs. They're. They're not done. No, they're Not. You know what?

01:41:49

Cats. Not if we. You know, not if I pay for.

01:41:52

Thing about cats. They got nine lives.

01:41:54

Yeah.

01:41:55

They'll be back.

01:41:56

Yeah. Hold on to that. IP Meow Mix. All right, so that's Stephen and Jerry. Meow Mix. Good job.

01:42:01

Panther number one, pussy pod. Yeah.

01:42:02

All right, real quick. Texans 44, Ravens 10. Pft. I got a question for you.

01:42:09

I got an answer.

01:42:11

You remember a couple weeks ago when you're like, should we have a conversation about CJ Stroud? And he has since he's had a very good couple weeks. He had 244 yards. He was 23 for 27, 244 yards, four touchdowns.

01:42:26

Today.

01:42:26

He looked really good. He also cleared up the whole explosiveness thing, saying it was a joke. Can't believe he actually called NF the toxic parts of NFL Twitter, which I think is just us. No, not just us.

01:42:38

No.

01:42:38

But, like, we are part of that.

01:42:40

I'd say we're. No, but when it. When it comes to Stroud specifically, I don't know. We're Stroud boys.

01:42:45

He was saying on the explosive clip. I was literally joking. Everybody takes everything out of context nowadays. I still can't believe that clip blew up like it did. I thought it was a fun, genuine answer and said Toxic NFL Twitter ran with it in a negative light. I don't mean we're not. I don't think we're Toxic NFL Twitter. I do think we probably bring up Toxic NFL Twitter on this show and maybe sometimes help Toxic NFL Twitter get a bigger light.

01:43:09

That part's true. I also think that maybe some of the graphics that we put out.

01:43:12

Yeah.

01:43:13

Especially the ones where certain people look fat.

01:43:15

We're doing a joke. We're not doing it in a toxic.

01:43:17

Listen, I'm. We're. We're victims, too, of toxic NFL Twitter. It's just our own Twitter account. Yeah.

01:43:21

Right, Right. So we. You're like, we should we have a conversation about CJ Stroud? He's looked good since then. Should we have a conversation about Derrick Henry?

01:43:32

What kind of conversation are you thinking about having?

01:43:36

Let me give you a blind resume.

01:43:38

Okay.

01:43:38

Okay.

01:43:39

That's the best way to solve anything.

01:43:40

All right. Running back one has played one game this year. 169 yards, two touchdowns.

01:43:50

Okay.

01:43:51

Running back two has played four games this year, and he has 148 yards and two touchdowns.

01:43:58

Okay. I'm thinking running back two is Derek Henry.

01:44:03

Yeah.

01:44:04

And running back one. How many games?

01:44:07

One game.

01:44:07

169 yards, two touches, one full game.

01:44:10

And the other running back had for four weeks 148 yards and two touchdowns.

01:44:17

Who's running back one also Derek Henry.

01:44:20

Week one, Derek Henry had 169 yards, two touchdowns. Since that week one game, he has had 148 yards total and two touchdowns.

01:44:31

Okay, so. Yes.

01:44:31

Should we have a conversation about Derek?

01:44:33

Let's have it right now.

01:44:34

He had 15 carries today, 33 yards. COOPER Rush was starting. That makes it a lot harder. Cooper Rush is. Seems like a nice guy. Bummer of a quarterback to watch another team that should have Jameis Winston as their backup. I know he signed up Jameis Winston for like six teams at this point, but give me Jameis over Cooper Rush. But Derek Henry has not had a strong start to the season. Outside of the Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills, he has been pretty much shut down. He's had games where he hasn't had a lot of carries. He's. So here's, here's his yardage. Week 2, 23 yards. Week 3, 50 yards. Week 4, 42 yards. Week 5, 33 yards. Should we have a conversation about Derek Henry?

01:45:21

So the usage thing is you can actually make an argument about that.

01:45:25

Yeah.

01:45:25

That they haven't been given to the ball that much. Yeah, they weren't really in a position to run the football. And I think that explains some of it, but it doesn't explain all of it. It's really what happened is since that fumble, Derek Henry hasn't been the same.

01:45:41

So what happened since the fumble against the Lions the, The third week? Is that one you're talking about?

01:45:47

No, I was talking about the first. Oh, at the very end of Bill's game. Yeah.

01:45:51

Yeah.

01:45:51

So at the very end of that game when he fumbled at Oliver, punched it out, they lost the game. He went to. He's. He fell down into the chair. And since that moment he hasn't been the same guy. Are you saying the best?

01:46:02

So the fall down chair was the Lions one?

01:46:04

I think, I think that, I think.

01:46:06

That was the Bill. Okay. Yeah. He's fumbled three times.

01:46:08

It might have been the line.

01:46:09

Right?

01:46:09

It might have been the line.

01:46:10

Yeah.

01:46:10

So he's fumbled a few times, but since that fumble. Really, he was the one against the Bills. Yeah, he's been a different guy. The Lions being the next best game that he had.

01:46:18

Yep.

01:46:18

Where he had 12 carries for 50 yards and that one touchdown and also a bad fumble at the end of it. But 12. Yeah, 12 carries for 50 yards. Still not like up to Derek Henry level production. Where in that first game it was like, this is the old Derrick Henry hasn't lost a single step.

01:46:32

No, he's going to be the same guy, but I mean, this is not like, I hope he turns around. I love watching Derek Henry Play. He is 31 years old. He's been really, really good for a really long time. And again, Cooper Rush complicates things. They can stack the box. They can basically say, cooper Rush is not going to beat us with his arm. We'll make sure Derek Henry doesn't go off. But yeah, it's been a weird start to the season for him because his best, like, yards per carry outside of that first week was the game against the Chiefs where he only got the ball eight times. So I don't know what's going on, if they're maybe saving him, but what are you saving him for? They're 1 in 4 now. The Ravens are in like deep, deep waters. Wouldn't you agree?

01:47:14

I would agree. And I know that I said that I thought that John Harbaugh was going to be safe, but if they have a couple more losses like this where they just kind of gave up, they were. They were slow. They did not look like they wanted to be out there. They weren't hustling at all. I feel like those are the kind of losses that could get a coach. When you really have lost the team they have already, it gets away from you.

01:47:37

They have already tied the record for most 35 plus points given up in a Raven season with four. Four times. They've given up 35 plus points already this season. We're in week five. They're the first team in super bowl era to allow 37 plus in four out of their first five games. I don't think the Ravens are going to like.

01:47:58

Can I tell you what?

01:47:58

I don't know if they're going to turn it around. I think they're just. I think this is going to be the season from hell for the Ravens and next year will be. Hey, you know, we forgot about the Ravens.

01:48:06

Here's my conversation that I'm. That I'm willing to entertain about Derek Henry, though.

01:48:10

Okay.

01:48:11

Patrick Ricard hasn't played this year. He's a fullback.

01:48:15

Yep.

01:48:16

Patrick Ricard is the most important running back on the Ravens.

01:48:18

Yeah.

01:48:19

Slash tight end.

01:48:21

Slash fullback.

01:48:21

Slash fullback. Without him out there blocking for Derek, it's a lot harder.

01:48:25

Yeah, yeah.

01:48:27

Get Patrick. What's his calf? It's like a leg.

01:48:30

I don't know.

01:48:31

Once.

01:48:31

What?

01:48:31

That's my prediction. Once Patrick Ricard gets back out there and starts running over people. This 6 foot 2, 310 pound body. I feel like that changes things for that rushing attack. Also. Having Lamar back is going to be.

01:48:45

Obviously of course and they do have a little bit of a softer schedule coming up because they've, they're kind of in the camp of, of the Eagles where they've played like the Texans are. The Texans defense is elite and CJ Stroud has been playing well the last two weeks. It feels like the Texans are on the right path to figuring it out. So all credits to Texans.

01:49:05

The.

01:49:06

The. The Ravens have had to play the Bills, the Lions, the Chiefs and now the Texans. Their, their other game being the. Their one win against the Browns. So they have not had an easy schedule start. It softens up a bit little. In fact, it softens up to the point where I've already circled it. I think Lamar is going to come back after the bye week. I think they're going to lose the Rams next week. They're going to start one in five. They're going to come back after the bi week play. The Bears, kick the shit out of the Bears and everyone's going to be like the Ravens are back.

01:49:34

That's, that's like your worst case scenario for you.

01:49:36

But it also is like very likely.

01:49:38

It could happen.

01:49:38

High likely. Yeah.

01:49:39

If you get, if you get a couple weeks to rest and get healthy, that's going to be big. They were missing a lot of guys again. I think Humphrey didn't play right. Stanley the tackle is out and they have, they've got like a laundry list. Kyle Hamilton, Roquan Smith was out.

01:49:55

You know, they're very bang. I don't think they're a bad team when fully healthy, but right now they have let up a ton of points. Derek Henry has looked not great. Lamar is hurt. They've lost some big time games that they, you know, were right there to win. Especially week one. It feels like season from hell. And it's again, it's not like the, the Ravens organization is bad or they won't be able to figure out going forward in the future, but this might be their season from hell.

01:50:23

Do you think that C.J. stroud kind of, kind of little broed the Ravens afterwards?

01:50:27

What do you say?

01:50:28

He loves LeBron. You know that he does love Little Brown. He just said like they're, they're banged up, they're hurting. He said, I think they'll be just fine once they get these guys back. I think it's just big. We had the same problem Last year when we played them, we had a lot of guys out on Christmas day and then they gave us an old Fashioned and so he's like, we. Hey, I've been through that too. Ravens.

01:50:47

Yeah, I know where you're at.

01:50:49

It's gonna get better. You just keep your head down in there. You get your guys back, you'll be okay.

01:50:52

All right, buddy?

01:50:52

Yeah. All right, little bro.

01:50:53

Get back out there. Call me if you need anything.

01:50:56

Bless up.

01:50:56

Yeah. C.J. stroud has been awesome. Yeah. 478 yards, six touchdowns the last two games. Zero turnover worthy plays.

01:51:03

And.

01:51:04

And if he plays like that. This Texans team is scary because their defense is ferocious. Like, they fuck people up on defense.

01:51:14

They do.

01:51:16

Okay. Yeah. I'm just. I. I didn't know if we needed to have a conversation about Derek Henry or not.

01:51:20

I think the conversation is Patrick Ricard.

01:51:22

Okay, that's fair.

01:51:24

Yeah, that's fair.

01:51:25

Oh, Pinky. Yeah. Texans. Yeah, they're. They're looking good.

01:51:31

They also. They played the Titans last week.

01:51:33

They did, but they're. I mean, the Texas needed to start winning games. They won two games in a row. Their deep. I think their defense is an elite unit. They'll have a big game against the Seahawks, at the Seahawks, Monday Night Football. And I think they have the buy now, so they'll get a little healthy. That will be a big test. But wouldn't you say like the Texans, who would you rather be right now? I mean, I know that Lamar's hurt, but like the Texans are. Have the bones of a team that could. Could make a run still. I think the Ravens don't right now. Defense is a joke.

01:52:07

I think that the Texans are getting healthier too.

01:52:09

Yeah.

01:52:09

Like they have receivers.

01:52:11

Yeah.

01:52:11

Whereas you could look at last year for the Texans, especially at the end of the season, be like, well, they're fucked. They have nothing that they can do offensively.

01:52:19

Yeah.

01:52:19

And now they do have guys making plays.

01:52:21

Yeah.

01:52:21

01:54:13

Okay, afternoon games. We thought this was going to be a shitty game. The Titans 22, Cardinals 21 and one of the most improbable losses. And the Cardinals have had some improbable losses. But this was for the, it was a low stakes game. That was shocking, wouldn't you say?

01:54:33

Oh yeah. Everything about this was shocking. They the the end of this, the fourth quarter of this game was the craziest thing I've seen in the NFL. Like the wildest fourth quarter. Not in terms of like players making great plays, right. But in terms of just chaos happening nonstop.

01:54:51

And it was so, and it was like so low stakes. And I don't mean that in a mean way but you know, The Titans are 0 and 4 or going into this game were own 4. The Cardinals had lost two in a row. It, it didn't feel important. And then it just happened. It was just like what the fuck just happened.

01:55:06

And the Cardinals play in a lot of these kinds of games, a lot of the chaotic games. So this is, they are the first team in NFL history to lose three straight games on a score in the final play of the Fourth quarter.

01:55:19

Yeah. Walk off kicks.

01:55:20

Walk off kicks.

01:55:21

Three straight weeks.

01:55:22

It just keeps happening to the Cardinals. And it's not like we can say that they're snake bitten because they. I guess they are the snake.

01:55:29

Yeah.

01:55:29

They're also biting themselves and they, they do it to themselves over and over and over again. They had the classic oops, I dropped the ball on the one inch line when I'm about to score touchdown.

01:55:39

Yeah. So it started with that. Well, it actually started with Kyler Murray having to go to the locker room because he might have gotten concussed from a snap.

01:55:45

Well, yeah, so what happened with that was he got hit in the head by a snap and then he went to the blue tent and he like kind of wobbled off the field. Schefter reported that too. Yeah, he was like going to the locker room for evaluation. And then very soon after he clarified that it was like a foot thing that he was looking at, which I'm sure somebody in, in Cardinals PR hit up Adam Schefter and said, hey, can you please stop making people think that he got concussed by the snap. Yeah, I think he got concussed by the snap.

01:56:13

It looked like he might have gotten.

01:56:15

He got his bell run by the snap. Not a good look for shortcut.

01:56:17

Yeah, he got smacked right in the face with a snap.

01:56:21

And then he didn't really. Didn't really try to pick it up.

01:56:25

No. A little business decision, but yeah. There was a moment in this game. The Cardinals were dominating this game. It was 21 to 6. The Titans were the same. Titans can't win a game, look really bad. And then Amari Demarcado had a 72 yard run for the Cardinals walking into the end zone to go up 28 to 6 with 12:40 in the fourth quarter. He drops the ball right before he crosses a goal line. I cannot believe, like I believe that this still can happen. I cannot believe this can happen a week after it happened. This is one of those things that a ball being dropped on the goal line from a guy running in, it will happen maybe once a year because we've forgotten that it could happen. It literally happened last week and then it happened again.

01:57:16

And it might have cost their team the game last week.

01:57:19

Yeah.

01:57:19

And then it goes the Colts, the Colts game.

01:57:21

Yeah.

01:57:22

And then DeMarcado does it on like this is as close as you can get. He's like on the 1 inch line, but. And then shout out to the safety that chased him down, the ball goes out of bounds and he does the like incomplete side like a DB would do on an overthrown ball? The like, worst example of that I've seen. Good for him celebrating that.

01:57:39

Yeah. And then we had the craziest play where Cam Ward through an interception on like, what was it, the 10 yard line. So they're in the red zone, he throws an interception. The Cardinals player intercepts the ball, then fumbles the ball and it squirts into the end zone and the Titans recover it in the end zone for a touchdown. So Cardinals got. Cardinals guy intercepts, it squirts out, another Cardinals player goes to pick it up, kicks it, it kicks it in the end zone. Titans player falls on the end zone. Touchdown Titans. This was insane. This whole thing was insane.

01:58:18

This was. If you're playing Mario Kart and you're, you're losing and then you get like the, the lightning bolts and then you get to just shrink everybody down to size and pass them. Yeah, that's what was happening with the Titans at the end of this game. And the, the fumbling the ball at the 1 inch line. It's a problem that I. It puzzles me every time. It doesn't matter how long it's been since I've seen it. I don't really understand it, but I do. It might be like when, if a plane crashes, it's more likely that another plane's going to crash right after that.

01:58:47

I think it should be the opposite. Yeah. Yeah.

01:58:49

You'd think that it would go the other way, but it's like way more likely that bad stuff continues to happen.

01:58:53

It's crazy.

01:58:54

They see another guy do it and they're like, oh, that's kind of cool. Loki.

01:58:57

That was kind of.

01:58:58

I might try to celebrate it, but yeah, good for the Titans. I'm happy for him. The locker room speech afterwards by Callahan, it was very funny because they were like celebrating a win, but like, they had no business.

01:59:07

They were like, how did we win this game?

01:59:09

They didn't really. I mean, they did. The final drive was awesome.

01:59:12

That's got to be one of the funniest ways for a quarterback to get his first career win. Yeah, and he was, he was awesome in that fourth quarter and he did get them, you know, got them down into field goal range. Also, the Titans defense, like, made some big stops to, to stop. Because the Cardinals could have won the game after all that happened. The Cardinals still could have gotten a first down and won the game. And the Titans defense boat up. But holy, what a game. It was so chaotic in that fourth quarter and it was such a nothing game for the first three quarters. But I'm happy for Titans fans because guess what? Maybe. Maybe you just never lose again. After Cam Ward said that to keep it a buck, we asked.

01:59:51

Yeah, you got to want to know since now you got to stack them. That's what Callahan said. We got to stack wins like these stacks and win. So get after. I'm happy for Titans fans. This has been a bummer of a season for them. They haven't had anything to look forward to on Monday morning. If you're a Titans fan, you're going to wake up the happiest you've been to start a week in a very, very long time.

02:00:10

And that was in. In the way they scored that touchdown with the interception and fumble. That was a. That. If you had told me that happened, I would have said it would have happened to the Titans, not for the. Yeah, you know what I mean?

02:00:21

That's some gunslinger, though, throwing a productive interception.

02:00:24

Yeah, perfect. Perfectly pace ball for the Cardinals defender to then fumble it.

02:00:28

I was trying to remember the last time that happened. The only other time I can remember an interception. And then the guy that picked it off fumbling and then a touchdown. I think it was the Saints against the Redskins back in like the mid 2000s. It happened right before halftime, but you never see that in the game. Yeah, it's electric when it does.

02:00:47

Very electric. I'm also. The computer power rankings had the Cardinals under the tear. Sick of their shit. Feel like they nailed that. I'm sick of the Cardinals. I just am.

02:00:59

It's not good.

02:01:00

I just. I. I am. I don't. Cortez had a new helmet, too.

02:01:03

Do you see that black one?

02:01:05

Yeah. It was cool. It was awesome. I just. I. I feel bad for Cardinals fans. They're.

02:01:10

You're sick of Cortez and.

02:01:12

No.

02:01:12

Oh, well, you made it that. I was just making sure in the way you.

02:01:15

No, I said I'm sick of the Cardinal. And then I was like. And he had a new helmet to like, like he was. He looked fresh.

02:01:22

The Cortez deserves better.

02:01:24

Yeah, they all deserve better. The Cardinals have had some pretty bummer seasons, ownership franchise history. They have.

02:01:35

Oh, also, Kyler Murray might have had the funniest incompletion of all time today. Which one was slash grounding. So he spins around twice in the pocket and then sees a guy coming towards him and he just turn. He just quits on the play. He's just like, here, get. Get rid of the ball. Don't tackle me.

02:01:48

I don't have the.

02:01:49

I don't have the ball anymore. I don't have the ball anymore. Don't tackle me. That was. That was a very, very sad play to watch.

02:01:55

He was literally playing hot potato with the ball.

02:01:57

Yeah.

02:01:58

Here, you take it. Also, we should have mentioned Spencer Rattler did throw a ball that got tipped back into him. He completed the pass to himself, then tried to throw it again.

02:02:05

Yes.

02:02:06

Forgot to mention that.

02:02:07

Yeah, that was funny. You should be allowed to do that.

02:02:09

Yeah. I'm sick of the Cardinal. I'm just. I. I'm just. I'm done with the Cardinals.

02:02:14

It's been a long time since I've, like, truly enjoyed watching the Cardinals play football.

02:02:20

Yeah. Because they'll do things every now and then and they'll have stretches where they'll look like a functional, fun offense, and then it will just.

02:02:29

It's such a funny.

02:02:30

It's so funny.

02:02:31

Yeah.

02:02:31

Him just flipping it. Here, you take it.

02:02:34

No, it's like. It's like if you get caught stealing.

02:02:36

Yeah.

02:02:37

When you're a kid at a store and then you just drop the stuff and run away. I don't have anymore. I don't have anymore.

02:02:41

Yeah.

02:02:42

I can't get in trouble.

02:02:42

I'm not playing video games. Mom. Look, controllers on my hand here. Whoa. All right, next game, Lions 37, Bengals 24. I'm. Listen, I. I read you the stats on Friday. Just bet the Lions every week. All they do is cover. It doesn't matter the spread. They are a covering machine. This one was a no doubter. Even Jake Browning, you know, getting hot in the fourth quarter in garbage time. Didn't matter. The Lions are just so good. They're so good. Their defense is awesome. Aiden Hutchison is an absolute beast. He was everywhere. Kirby Joseph had another interception. The Lions had five different guys score a touchdown. It was Gibbs, LaPorta, Tesla, Brock Wright, St. Brown, Montgomery, not St. Brown. And then David Montgomery also threw a touchdown. Jared Goff was just killing them, slicing them up. They're just so good. Good.

02:03:42

They are.

02:03:42

They're just so good. Like, just bet the Lions. Bet the Lions and retire.

02:03:46

This game was never in jeopardy for the Lions, even though they did, by the way, new new onside kick, dropped. I saw a couple teams try this this week where they do the side spin thing, and it looks like that's the one that's going to be able to be recovered more. But even though the Bengals were, like, theoretically kind of still thinking they had a chance if everything broke their way, it never. The Lions dominated This game. Yeah. From start to finish. And I have a Jake Browning take, though.

02:04:10

Okay.

02:04:10

I think he might now have flipped over into the side of quarterback where he is exciting to watch because you don't, you just don't know how much worse the interceptions can get.

02:04:22

Yes, I would agree with that.

02:04:23

They're not, they're not. I don't think that they're like bummer interceptions to watch. I get excited watching him throw. Yeah.

02:04:30

Yeah. Do you know the, the perfect description of Jake Browning and what the Bengals did in this game? Do you know that at the start of the third quarter, the Jamar Chase was the leading tackler for the Cincinnati Bengals? Yeah, he had three. He finished the game, three tackles on three interceptions.

02:04:49

He finished the game with three. He was the second leading tackler.

02:04:52

Yeah.

02:04:53

At the end of the game in.

02:04:54

The third quarter, he was. He was the leading tackler for the Cincinnati Bengals with three tackles because Jake Browning just kept on throwing the ball. The other team.

02:05:00

Yeah. Their leading tackler had four on the day. Jamar Chase had three on the day. Also credit to Jamar Chase.

02:05:08

Yeah.

02:05:09

Good for him.

02:05:10

He.

02:05:10

If you're thinking that he's not trying, he is trying. Yeah, he's basically Travis Hunter.

02:05:15

Yeah, he's trying hard. Yeah, he's. He's. I mean, also the fact that he was. Has three tackles like Jake Browning is also trying to get the ball to Jamar Chase doesn't work all the time. In fact, it works not a lot of times, but they're trying. And Jake Browning did get hot at the end, but it was also garbage time, so I don't really know. I don't know how much you can take.

02:05:37

Yeah, it was, it was big time garbage time.

02:05:40

And, and, and Zach Taylor, I think, is just sticking with Jake Browning. I don't think he. It's bizarre. I mean, you, you, you explained it. They don't want to. They don't want to sell the, you know, they don't want to.

02:05:52

They don't want to pay anybody else.

02:05:53

Yeah. Yeah. So.

02:05:53

Because they. He's still writing those checks to Joe Burrow, who's not playing, and that's that. He doesn't like that.

02:05:59

Yeah, he said that Zach Taylor said he's confident they're going to get it fixed there. He's confident they got to flex. They got to flex Thanksgiving night if we don't get another quarterback.

02:06:11

All right, so I know that you can flex some games. Can you flex Thanksgiving?

02:06:14

I don't think so. I, I would say no. Also, the state of Michigan is kind of owning the state of Ohio right now. Not. Not even a Michigan, Ohio State conversation.

02:06:26

Talking mlb.

02:06:26

I'm talking Lions beating the Bengals and the Browns by a combined score of 71 to 34. And then the Tigers taking out the Guardians all in one week. That was just. In these last seven days, what the. What Michigan has done to Ohio.

02:06:40

Have we ever had a player who was the leading receiver and leading tackler on the same team?

02:06:46

I don't know.

02:06:47

Travis Hunter.

02:06:47

Travis Hunter. Travis Hunter.

02:06:49

Yeah. I don't think he's done it.

02:06:50

I don't think he has either.

02:06:51

Jamar Chase is the Travis Hunter of the NFL.

02:06:54

There were so many Lions fans there. Do you see? They tried to do a stripe out where they, like, had that.

02:07:00

That's. That's mean to do, like, a stadium design.

02:07:03

Yeah. On the road kind of worked. Look at it. Well, I'll see. See if you can find the stripe out. Get us a picture of the stripe out.

02:07:12

Is Max looking for. Wait. Lions don't have stripes, though.

02:07:16

I don't know. Tigers, I think they were trying to out. Or they're taking out the stripes of the.

02:07:22

Were they.

02:07:22

I don't know what they were.

02:07:23

They might have tried to demolish the stripe out.

02:07:26

They were trying to stripe the stance, like.

02:07:28

Yeah, wipe. Wipe out the stripe. Because it seems to me like the Bengals would try to do a stripe out, and then the Lions would try to mess up the stripe out.

02:07:37

Yeah, maybe. No, do Lions. You. You're. Do. Lions fans. Bengals. Careful. What? Just be careful with them. You guys are good now.

02:07:52

I'm worried about you.

02:07:53

Yeah, you're right.

02:07:54

The Bengals.

02:07:55

Yeah, look. Look at that. First street. There might be more Lions fans than.

02:07:58

Oh, yeah. The Bengals are attempting to stripe their stadium today.

02:08:01

Lions fans are striping it out. Yeah, they're out. They're taking away the stripe out.

02:08:06

Yes, they're wiping.

02:08:07

Wipe, wipe, wiping out.

02:08:08

Wiping out the stripe out.

02:08:09

That's what they're doing. They did a pretty good job. A shitload of Lions.

02:08:12

For a second, I was like, it's been a long day. But I'm pretty sure that.

02:08:15

Yeah.

02:08:15

That Tigers have stripes.

02:08:17

They did kind of wipe out the stripe out.

02:08:19

Yeah, they did a good job.

02:08:21

Like, that's not a stripe out.

02:08:22

Because I think some. Now I think some of that is also the stadium.

02:08:25

Yeah.

02:08:25

Maybe the colors of the seats. I don't know.

02:08:27

All right, that was a stupid conversation. That was idiot Jazz. I'm sorry, but I just thought I'd bring it up. No, we got There fans got there.

02:08:33

Yeah, we got know. We'll get back to pardon my take in a second. It's brought to you by Campbell's Chunky. We've got a Chunky Mantry set up right here in our studio. Great commercial, great commercial. With Ms. Jackson and. And Jaden Daniels and Tyler Biatish. It's a great, great soup. I love Chunky. It's soup season. The Chunky Mantry is a place where one can do and or get everything they crave from one spot. You can eat delicious food, watch football. You can listen to your favorite sports podcast past. It's a place to authentically exist as a chunky and a football lover. A place to go when a fan's craving time for themselves to enjoy and consume the things they love without being bothered, such as the biggest matchups of the week. When you walk into your pantry, you should walk into a space with your head held high, and you should reach for a can of Chunky. Because when chunky is involved, it's no longer a pantry. It's a Chunky Mantry. Chunky is everything you crave. Chunky takes the best of every flavor, makes them bigger, bolder, and more craveable. Chunky is bold, meaty, and has all the cravel, craveable flavors that you need to tackle your hunger.

02:09:36

And when it comes to football, Chunky's got the food covered. But what else are you craving this NFL season? I'm craving more commanders games like that. Shout out. Jaden. Great game today. He was powered by Chunky Mantry. His chunky Mantry fueled up, got better. Matt Stafford can have his healing bed. Jaden Daniels has the chunky Mantry, and we're thinking soupy. Chunky is everything you crave. No matter what you crave or when you crave it, Chunky delivers 110%. And now back to more part of my take.

02:10:06

All right, wrap it up. We got two more games. Commanders, 27, Chargers, 10 PFT. How much credit are we giving to Jaden Daniels having the wherewithal to change his cleats?

02:10:17

Everything changed after he changed his cleats.

02:10:19

Literally everything.

02:10:19

Everything changed. That is a man that. That he knows what his body does and when it doesn't work. By the way, he was totally healthy. He looked good when he was right. He didn't have any, like, big, explosive runs today, but he was moving, moving good. And I think he's. Yeah. Jaden's back. Jaden's back. He looked good and he looked great, especially after he changed the Cleats. What really changed that game around was the Quentin Johnson fumble.

02:10:42

I was gonna say there's. There's a few plays. There's actually like a few very pivotal plays. Quinn Johnson fumble. It was Jayden Daniels third and 16 conversion. When they were down 10 nothing. Because it felt like the game like if they had punted there, the Chargers like go back down the field. And then it was also the roughing the kicker at the end of the half where probably the coolest punt return touchdown that will not stand by Lab McConkey, where he, he, he juked Tress Way and like Tres Way looked like he was in the matrix.

02:11:11

He hurdled him. Yeah.

02:11:12

But he also like juked him before he hurdled him. So is he like mistimed his jump jump? But it was all for not. And then the Commanders get to tie up the game in half and it was just like avalanche from there.

02:11:24

So the reason I say was that that fumble, the Johnson fumble, everything changed at that point because at the start of the game, the Chargers were dominant.

02:11:31

Yeah.

02:11:31

Justin Herbert looked incredible. The offense was moving at like a very steady pace. We couldn't get anything going on our offense. But after that fumble. Well, let me set it up this way. Before that fumble, The Chargers had 167 yards, 6.4 yards per play. After the fumble, they had 169 yards total for the rest of the game, 4.4 yards per play. The Commanders were averaging 3.8 yards per play. They only had 30 yards before that fumble. After that fumble, they averaged 7.6 yards per play, 359 yards of offense. Literally everything changed in that, in that one moment.

02:12:11

Was that also during the. That was also kind of around the cliche.

02:12:15

It was around the cleat change. But that, that.

02:12:16

I think he had the cleats for the first, like three drives or so.

02:12:20

Yes.

02:12:20

And then he changed them.

02:12:21

Well, here, here's the thing. Speak for frankly on this podcast.

02:12:25

Yeah.

02:12:25

We speak truthfully.

02:12:27

Yeah.

02:12:28

Hank, when you have an offense that you have a star and people forget about him, they're silent. When he comes back and shuts everybody up, you don't, you don't hear the same energy. And Today the Luke McCaffrey haters are silent. It's true. I didn't hear a single thing.

02:12:45

He was awesome.

02:12:45

He was awesome. Today. Luke was a downfield threat. And Jaden was good, too. It was a. It was a good like two and a half quarters where we were just dominant. And it looked like the, the offense from last Year for a little bit. So that. That was good to see. Now, the Chargers did also. I think they lost another guy on their offensive line, and that made a big difference because we're getting a lot of pressure on Hell. He was in hell.

02:13:10

And he's.

02:13:10

He's a great quarterback. He was still making plays, but it seemed like they just couldn't get anything. There was no push up front. And then the other big story, Bill. Today was Bill's coming out game. Bill had two touchdowns. Every time he touched the ball, he looked like he was a threat to get a first down.

02:13:27

He was awesome.

02:13:27

He's just like the shiftiness that he has even before he gets the line of scrimmage. Image is unreal. And also, we're partnering up with Bill. We're doing a merch collab. So get your Bill shirts on the barstool store support Bill. I'm wearing it right now. I've got.

02:13:40

Let's see.

02:13:40

I think I got some others here. The Bill Dozer is my personal favorite right here. Oh, this is. Just call me Bill. And it's Bill.

02:13:49

Bill's electric.

02:13:50

And then the Bill Dozer. He's a great player. And it was a fun game to watch for a little bit, but at the start, it was just. It was a bad, bad first quarter. And the. The dark thoughts that I expressed on this podcast last week, we're starting to bubble up a little bit. And then the cleats changed. The fumble happened. And now I'm. Now I'm all.

02:14:08

Now you're back.

02:14:09

I'm all back.

02:14:10

Do you have. Does Shane have the football? Can you tell Shane to bring in the football?

02:14:14

Yeah.

02:14:14

We won the football.

02:14:15

I won the football from Shane.

02:14:17

Yeah.

02:14:17

Bill Bills.

02:14:18

I don't.

02:14:19

I don't.

02:14:19

Didn't he. I heard him talking in the cave. Like, that was not legally biased.

02:14:23

No, there's.

02:14:24

Shane created a graphic for it.

02:14:25

He has. Did memes make the graphic the football fat?

02:14:29

No.

02:14:29

Okay.

02:14:30

It was an official Shane graphic.

02:14:31

Shane, I put you guys double team in the football.

02:14:34

Oh, nice. Yeah.

02:14:35

Eiffel Tower.

02:14:36

Shane, do you have the football for pft?

02:14:39

I do.

02:14:40

Are you going to give the football up?

02:14:43

I don't know.

02:14:43

Okay. Why wouldn't you have a discussion about. Okay, let's have the discuss.

02:14:47

Okay.

02:14:48

So.

02:14:48

So we made the bet.

02:14:49

Yep. Did you just. Did you just speak Italian? What did you say? We made a debet. It's a bet.

02:14:58

We made the bet. And at the beginning, the chargers were up 10, nothing. And then PFT screamed to me. Good Game, Shane and I think. I think we should discuss if that's concession or not.

02:15:11

Oh, did you concede?

02:15:12

I said good game. Shane is like you're giving up. Like you're saying as if the game is over. First of all, you didn't accept. Even if it was a concession, you didn't say thank you. How do you know I didn't accept? Because I didn't hear you. Maybe just didn't say it loud enough. No, because I think if you had accepted, you would have said actually, yes, I did say.

02:15:29

Were you trying to concede?

02:15:31

That's not an official consent.

02:15:32

It's not a concede though.

02:15:34

It's a reverse jinx.

02:15:35

Okay. So yeah, you got to give him the full.

02:15:37

And it worked.

02:15:38

Okay. I thought we should just talk about it.

02:15:40

I'm cool giving it to him.

02:15:41

But up.

02:15:42

Are you? Are you cool, Shane? Cuz I. I saw you. I was walking around the office this afternoon after the game was over and I saw you just like very sadly out on the basketball court with the football by yourself.

02:15:53

One last walk.

02:15:54

Throwing. Throwing the football in. Trying to throw it into the basketball hoop. Yeah, about it.

02:16:00

RG3.

02:16:00

You're saying goodbye to it. Yeah.

02:16:02

Perfect football. PFT is going to eat it now and just. I might.

02:16:06

It.

02:16:06

I don't know. But. No, you're right. I'm going to eat that one too.

02:16:10

It is a great football.

02:16:12

It is a good football. It's a really good football.

02:16:14

It's just.

02:16:15

All right, Shane, do you have any. Do you have anything to add about the Chargers today? I have too much to add about it. But I think the showing they've put on the last couple weeks have been pathetic.

02:16:27

Yeah.

02:16:28

Yeah. Like we had a practice squad offensive line. I think I saw a stat today. Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert's been pressured 50 times in the last two weeks. Yeah, go on. And his average time to pressure, 2.1 seconds.

02:16:48

So it's been tough.

02:16:49

Really tough. Yeah, it's been very tough.

02:16:52

I also don't think Amari and Hampton is going to win offensive rookie of the year. Why? Because there's a guy named Mecca Buka.

02:16:59

That's. That's fair. Yeah.

02:17:00

Five weeks.

02:17:01

Yeah. There's also a guy name Bill and.

02:17:03

Also Omarion Hampton is hurt in a walking boot fantasy.

02:17:09

Doc said his precautionary. He thinks Bone Bruce.

02:17:11

Oh, okay.

02:17:12

Not confirmed. Fun stat. Jayden Daniels is the only player in NFL history with 4,000 pass yards and 1,000 rush yards in his first 20 career games.

02:17:23

Whoa.

02:17:24

Pretty good.

02:17:24

That is pretty good.

02:17:25

He's back, James back.

02:17:27

Did you see Keenan Allen was the fastest wide receiver to a thousand receptions? That's a very funny. Like a thousand receptions. A lot of receptions. When you think about a guy like an Incredible year is 100 receptions. It's just very funny to see the words like fastest with kenan Allen, who's 33 years old, but he is fastest 159 games.

02:17:48

Yeah, he's been great for a long time. Great route runner. Love watching him operate. Also credit to Mikey Sanders. Still great interception.

02:17:56

He.

02:17:56

He kind of things up at the start of the game. He jumped off sides on the field goal attempt. Attempt which then let the Chargers score touchdown instead of a field goal and then got pretty much the game ceiling pick at the end of it. Yeah, there's a lot of good stuff. Like I was very happy watching the second half of this game today, but Debo looked great. The offensive line looked really, really good. And the defense played well for I'd say a majority of the game. So I was. I'm a happy boy.

02:18:21

Yeah.

02:18:21

Feels good to be happy about your football team.

02:18:23

Yeah. There you go.

02:18:24

And optimistic.

02:18:25

And you got a football.

02:18:26

Football. And I gotta.

02:18:26

You get a football. A great. A perfect football.

02:18:29

Maybe the best.

02:18:30

Are you gonna let Shane like visitation?

02:18:33

Yeah, like every other weekend, nights and weekends. I'm sure he'll do that. Anyways, when I'm not around. I don't know if I want to see it post. Shane. I'm not. Listen, I'm not gonna. The football. I don't think I can look at it the same. Not. Not gonna. I might eat it.

02:18:50

Okay.

02:18:51

I'm a giving lover.

02:18:52

Give it over. But I'm not gonna bring it in here.

02:18:54

Football.

02:18:55

Football.

02:18:55

And now next game. Big cat.

02:18:59

Yeah.

02:19:00

For the commanders.

02:19:01

Yeah.

02:19:01

The part of my take bowl.

02:19:02

Yeah. We've a. There's. We're gonna talk baseball at the end of the show. But there's a chance for an outside chance because the. Both the Cubs and the Phillies. Thank you, Shane.

02:19:13

Look at this football.

02:19:13

It's incredible football.

02:19:14

Good sportsmanship, Shane.

02:19:16

The Cubs and Phillies are both. Both. Oh and one or down zero one in their series. But if. If there is a God who wants to torture this podcast, next Monday could potentially just be like, pardon my take, Armageddon, because there's. It would be if, if they both advance, it would be Bears commanders and Phillies Cubs game one.

02:19:39

Yeah.

02:19:39

Monday night.

02:19:40

I've, I, I've noticed a trend around Chicago and I, I love Bears fans. I don't have any. Animosity towards the Bears. In fact, I want.

02:19:48

Sounds like you do.

02:19:49

I want them. No.

02:19:49

Next statement's gonna be you do.

02:19:51

No, no, no. I'm just saying I don't. But I've noticed that they've been. They've been real dicks about the commanders recently.

02:19:56

How so?

02:19:57

Bears fans. Just like random Bears fans that I'll see in public. Might not. They. They don't have anything to do with part of my take.

02:20:04

I think they probably know who you are.

02:20:07

No, no. Like older people.

02:20:09

You. You know this.

02:20:10

Yeah.

02:20:11

You saw it.

02:20:12

I told Hank about it right after it happened.

02:20:15

Okay. But I was so one guy.

02:20:17

No, it's.

02:20:17

It.

02:20:18

I've talked to a lot of Bears fans because I wear commander, like almost every day.

02:20:22

Yeah.

02:20:22

So I'll be either, like randomly grouped up with one on the golf course, going through the airport. See a bunch of them at the bank the other day when the guy was just like you because I was wearing Command. I've noticed they're. They're very, very down on the commanders.

02:20:36

Well, the Hail Mary was pretty. That ended the entire season. Season.

02:20:40

Yeah, they.

02:20:41

And like, was just catastrophically bad.

02:20:44

They're down on the Command, They're. They're up on Caleb, they're down on Jaden, and they. They've made it personal for me now.

02:20:53

Oh, okay. Now.

02:20:53

Now it's a little bit personal.

02:20:54

I would. I would say at least some of those people probably are listeners. Not.

02:20:59

Not the ones I'm talking about, which is. Okay.

02:21:01

How many times.

02:21:02

I don't have like a log. I don't. I don't guess. I don't write them down. Probably. Probably seven or eight. Seven or eight strangers.

02:21:09

Wow.

02:21:10

Just being like one hit wonder when they talk about Jaden.

02:21:14

Yeah.

02:21:15

It's interesting, huh?

02:21:18

I mean, Caleb gets a lot of talked about him.

02:21:22

He does.

02:21:22

Everywhere.

02:21:23

He does.

02:21:25

If I went anywhere, I'd probably get a lot of Caleb's talk. I'm.

02:21:30

I'm just saying I've. Maybe I should start keeping a log.

02:21:33

Yeah, keep a log. I'd like to see it. I'd like to see the log.

02:21:36

You don't believe him.

02:21:37

I believe. I believe it's happened.

02:21:39

When he starts asking for specifics, that's.

02:21:41

When he doesn't believe because we are pretty recognizable guys. No, but I. I don't think definitely would talk in a fun way.

02:21:48

Oh, no, I don't include those because, like, I'm fine with. I, I like, I believe. It's like, I love the show. They're like you, Jaden sucks, like whatever.

02:21:57

Yeah, that's, yeah, that's fine. They're around.

02:21:58

I'm just, I'm saying like in the wild, I've noticed a lot, a lot of one hit wonder. Jaden. Caleb's here now.

02:22:06

How many times do you think it's happened? I believe it's happened a couple.

02:22:11

I mean he said the bank one would happen the other day. The, the one happened in the airport the other day. Like that. That's really all I, I know about. But I could see it, I think.

02:22:18

Okay. Fun Monday night.

02:22:20

Yeah, it's gonna be fun.

02:22:21

I don't think it's a one one hit wonder. I think he's very good.

02:22:24

I think the bad man's back.

02:22:26

Jaden is the bad man.

02:22:27

He's a bad man.

02:22:28

Man.

02:22:28

But good guy.

02:22:29

Great guy. Have we. Have we.

02:22:30

Whose line is it anyway?

02:22:32

No, it's tattoo bet.

02:22:34

What do you guys think?

02:22:36

Probably Commander's like four and a half.

02:22:39

I think. Commander. That sounds about right.

02:22:43

The can exist poll for me.

02:22:45

I, it might be.

02:22:46

You don't have to be here.

02:22:47

I'm gonna guess Commander Commanders.

02:22:51

What did you say?

02:22:52

I said four and a half.

02:22:53

Three and a half.

02:22:54

Three and a Half.

02:22:55

Okay.

02:22:55

DraftKings sportsbook.

02:22:57

We'll see. I think the Bears are Bears. Bears all day still. Then you can come. I think the Commanders are still better. They're a better team than the Bears. We'll see if the Bears can. Bye week helps a lot. But we have those only beaten the Raiders and the Cowboys, so. Not getting super ahead of myself. This was a, this was a scheduled loss. So anything that any, anything else that happens. A tie or a win would be bonus.

02:23:26

I'm hoping Terry gets back. But Debo looked good. Luke looked good. Without him.

02:23:30

I, I, for, for the show's sake. 1:1, 1:1 is great.

02:23:34

The universe evens it out.

02:23:35

Yeah. Because then you guys can just semantically.

02:23:39

Argue and people please be nice to pft in public. No, we don't want any more PFT. Smollett. But you can't you.

02:23:47

I'm 100% not. I'm saying something I've noticed. Noticed like I've noticed people he's talking about don't listen.

02:23:54

So that's true.

02:23:55

True, true. We gotta tell other people. If you see an older person, tell.

02:23:59

Them what the noticing is more them saying, like already looking down their nose at Jaden being like, Caleb's better.

02:24:07

I mean last year was horrific how it unfolded.

02:24:10

Which is, which is why it's been shocking to hear like And I'm nice to him. I'm like, we'll see. I guess we'll find out when they play each other.

02:24:17

Yeah. I wouldn't get ahead of myself and say that, Kale. I don't think you can reasonably say Caleb is better than Jaden Daniels, given last year. In four, five weeks of this season. That's a little ahead of yourself.

02:24:28

I think having two weeks where he's out, you people forget.

02:24:32

Yeah. Look good today in the second half.

02:24:34

Are you just looking for bulletin board material?

02:24:37

Well, no, when it. When it presents itself, I. I remember it a little bit. I don't know why Big cat thinks I'm making this up.

02:24:43

I don't think you're making it up. I don't think it's happened seven or eight.

02:24:46

A wild thing to think that.

02:24:47

I mean, I don't think seven or seven or eight times Seems like a.

02:24:50

Lot of times I'm more just going off of the. The Luke McCaffrey haters from last week.

02:24:55

Yeah.

02:24:56

Well, that's.

02:24:56

I think it's obviously way worse.

02:24:59

Yeah, I think one or two people have definitely done that. That makes sense.

02:25:03

But I'm making up the other five.

02:25:05

I think seven or eight's a lot of people to just randomly be like one hit wonder out of nowhere.

02:25:10

But maybe it's happened to be a wild thing to make up. Do you see his post game dap up with juju?

02:25:16

No.

02:25:16

It was a great dab, great depth.

02:25:18

What happened?

02:25:19

They just. They did the extremely intricate dap through, like, a group of reporters, and it was, like, probably the second best app that he's ever done.

02:25:27

You being number one.

02:25:29

Possibly.

02:25:30

Let me see it.

02:25:31

You got a Jayden Daniels hand fetish.

02:25:34

His elbow look good today, too.

02:25:36

Handoffs.

02:25:37

Wait, this is juju from usc. Yeah.

02:25:43

Clean dap.

02:25:44

I.

02:25:45

Is it.

02:25:46

Is that clean?

02:25:47

Oh, yeah, you're right. I guess mine was better.

02:25:50

What the are they doing? They're, like, playing, like.

02:25:54

I think.

02:25:55

I don't know what they're doing.

02:25:56

I think they have a special handshake.

02:25:57

Yeah. Okay.

02:26:00

This other woman is. Is really the star, and she just gets.

02:26:05

She's way in there. Yeah, she's getting weird. That's not your moment, lady. What are you doing? All right, Last game, Bucks 38, Seahawks 35. Zach, the Bucks are the funnest team in the NFL, bar none. So much fun to watch. Not even close. Why does it have to always be at the end of the game? But still. I'll take it. I'll take it. Every week. Doesn't matter. The Bucks are the most fun team in the NFL. Baker Mayfield is awesome. He had 379 yards. He had. Is the first player in NFL history to have 375 plus yards with less than 5 incompletions. What a stud.

02:26:44

And I would like to say Mike Evans out and Buga just picked up.

02:26:47

Just, just picked up like business usual.

02:26:49

Bam. Looking great, looking fantastic. That's what's super impressive, like for a rookie to be doing this and to be the go to guy. Like, you have an option number one, a true guy that will like get open, win you the games. It's very impressive what a book has done.

02:27:01

He's like, oh, it's my turn to go.

02:27:02

Okay.

02:27:03

All right. Jets on. Let's go full force. He's in. He's in it.

02:27:06

I love it.

02:27:07

It's so awesome, man.

02:27:09

From a fan's perspective, this is great. I'm thinking we do this again.

02:27:12

I'd like to see them do it again next week. Yeah, this is a great game across the board. Like, Sam Darnold played really good too.

02:27:17

Great game. Unless you are a scout or front office that has moved on from Sand Arnold or Baker Mayfield, this had to be the game from hell for you because they both balled out and it basically was like, hey, you guys fucked all of this up.

02:27:32

Yeah. And that's what they said. That was Baker's bulletin board material. Going to the game because he has to find something. And so a reporter just asked him about, like, okay, what about your good times that you had together? He's like, yeah, it was Carolina. There were no good times.

02:27:44

Oh, yeah, no, I said that quote on Friday.

02:27:46

Yeah.

02:27:46

So, yeah, yeah.

02:27:47

So that, that's what they. That he has to dig and find something to get pissed off about. And I don't know what he's going to do next because it's the Niners next weekend. So what is Baker gonna. What's he gonna manufacture to eat about the Niners?

02:28:01

He'll figure out something.

02:28:03

It's.

02:28:05

He'll get something.

02:28:06

Shanahan went to Texas.

02:28:08

Yeah.

02:28:09

Red river rivalry week.

02:28:11

That's easy.

02:28:11

Yeah, there we go. That's what he's gonna hang on. But yeah, this game was. It was awesome. Just back and forth, back and forth at. And really it looked like at the start of it that Seattle was not going to be competitive. And then something happened. Yeah, what happened, Zach?

02:28:27

I agree.

02:28:27

It was. It was a nice little 13 and nothing lead.

02:28:30

And then they.

02:28:30

They sneak one in with like six seconds left and Going into the half.

02:28:33

Make it a one score game.

02:28:37

It was, it was Jackson, the Ohio State receivers, the Ohio State. It was basically Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold just hooking up, up with their Ohio State receivers and dominating the other team. And it just became a shootout in the second half.

02:28:50

We were in a good spot twice.

02:28:51

And they've just back to backed us, like, all right, we'll work through a little lead here. It'll be all right. And then they're like, no, no, no, hold on.

02:28:57

A lot of game left. We'll just hit you with a quick back to back.

02:28:59

That's. There's nothing worse than the. When you get. Get a lead and you're like, oh, we're good. And then it's just boom, down the field. They went right down the field.

02:29:07

Where did this come from?

02:29:07

They did it twice. Yeah.

02:29:08

Also the fact that it was the best possible uniform combination really up the level of the game.

02:29:13

And they did the graphic too.

02:29:15

Yeah.

02:29:16

Love that. I love that they did that. It was just a fun watch all around. And Baker is just the best. They are the number one team I want to watch. Every game they play is fun. Every game, every win they've had is three points or less this year. They just, they're fun.

02:29:30

The throw that he had on the seam to a Buka was one of the best throws I've seen this year. Yep. There's an absolute laser beam to him.

02:29:38

And the touchdown to Sterling shepherd at the end.

02:29:40

Yeah.

02:29:40

Was ridiculous. And he's not the fastest guy, but his ability to like go pick up the first when he sees that he.

02:29:46

Can go get it, he.

02:29:47

It, it's. It almost seems like he does it every time. Like, yeah, he doesn't have the wheels, but it's like, wait, I could just.

02:29:53

Why don't I just sneak out here.

02:29:54

Real quick and pick up the first.

02:29:55

Yeah. I love it.

02:29:56

Yeah, it was. It was very fun. Yeah. Unless again, you are one of the people who moved on from them.

02:30:02

Yep.

02:30:02

And it's. That was the worst watch of all time. Credit to us. We. This. This was our. Our bull for. From four years ago when we called the shot when we. We said we were not done with.

02:30:13

Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield never stopped believing.

02:30:15

And we. And we. And we were proven right. Also, Abuka is great because Gronk, I think I said this after the first week of the season. Him having to pronounce his name is just such an adventure every time. Today he dropped a new one. That was so perfect. Mike Evans and you got to give credit to this rookie sensation, wide receiver.

02:30:33

Out of Ohio State.

02:30:34

Emig Boo going for.

02:30:37

He's doing on purpose now.

02:30:39

He might have been doing that one on purpose. I'm getting confused. Going lights out once again. He might not. Yeah.

02:30:46

Mike Evans comes because he bounced back.

02:30:48

To the right one.

02:30:48

Defensive.

02:30:51

Hold on. Hold on. He's correcting you. I got. I love ground the. But. Yeah, this was. This was the game of the day in terms of, like, entertainment factor, just overall. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

02:31:08

And.

02:31:09

And no Bucky. No problem for the Bucks because he was out. So White was good.

02:31:13

So Bucky's out for, like, weeks now.

02:31:15

I don't know.

02:31:16

He's got a shoulder and. And some sort of ankle or foot injury. Yeah, foot as well.

02:31:21

Yes.

02:31:21

I don't like that. I like watching Bucky play.

02:31:23

Bucks just get injured. It feels like every week. Week is just another dude they got to get. I mean, when Mike Evans gets back and Bucky's healthy, this offense, and they get a little bit more health on the offensive line, this might be the best offense in football.

02:31:38

Did they. Did they end up selling Mega ticket?

02:31:42

No.

02:31:44

I think that's an idea that's, like, way too far. It's so advanced, it scares people.

02:31:47

Yeah, We. We haven't caught up. Science hasn't caught up to the mega ticket yet.

02:31:51

There might have to be different, like, stadium design to. For the Mega Ticket to make the most sense. Yeah. Yeah.

02:31:57

Now.

02:31:58

Yeah. There's something. Should we have a conversation about Seattle at home? Seattle hasn't been good at home recently.

02:32:04

Good point.

02:32:05

They used to be, like, the hardest place to play. Now you could. A smart person would make the argument that they were really good at home when their football team was really good at football.

02:32:13

Yep.

02:32:14

And then they were worse at home when they weren't as good as football.

02:32:17

Football.

02:32:18

But now they're kind of. Maybe kind of good again at football.

02:32:21

I think they are.

02:32:23

So they should start to be kind of maybe pretty good at home again.

02:32:25

They should be. You would think that would work. Yeah. This was. This. Also, like, I don't. I think the Bucks defense and the Seahawks defense are better than what we saw today. This is my. Some, like, two or three times a year, your team will play in, like, basically a Big 12 shootout, and there's just nothing like the pinball effect will happen, and game flow will get so out of hand that everything goes haywire. That's.

02:32:50

Maybe that's why Baker's so good at winning these close games, is because he's he's used to the like Big 12.

02:32:57

Yeah. Yeah. And, and, and it looked like, I mean, the fact that the Bucks pulled this off where they, they get that interception late too. Hank, did you have the Bucks? I did have the Bucks to finish something.

02:33:09

They were the third leg of the Hungry Dog.

02:33:10

That thing had no shot.

02:33:12

That's a great bet. Yeah.

02:33:13

No, the, the, the Bucks. I just needed the Bucks to win and, and they dropped a pick six in the end zone to start the drive. That was a bad sign. One of the worst roughing the passer calls I've ever seen in my life got called against the Bucks on the Seahawks. The guy didn't even knock Darnold over lightly. Ran into him and held him up and they called unnecessary roughness. It just felt like one of those drives, you know, when you're gambling, you know, need one last leg of a parlay, that this is going to be the thing that they lose. But then Baker just came back and let a game winning drive.

02:33:48

Like once again, pretty much a perfect game from Baker.

02:33:51

Yeah, yeah. And Sam Darnold almost played a perfect game. He just didn't play as perfect as Baker. It's really like the difference is like two incompletions.

02:34:03

Yeah. Somebody had to lose.

02:34:04

And that interception at the end, which, you know, it hit the helmet. Sam Darnold did take ownership for it. He was like, like I knew where the guy was open. I fucked up the production.

02:34:11

So if you're looking at losses this week, I feel like there's a couple losses where maybe you can walk away and like the loss of the week.

02:34:19

What's the best loss of the week?

02:34:21

I got two. I got two candidates for it.

02:34:23

All right, hold on. Let me look, Let me look back real quick. All right, give me your two candidates.

02:34:29

All right. Candidate number one is the Seahawks.

02:34:31

Okay.

02:34:31

In this shootout. And candidate number two would be the Browns.

02:34:34

Yep.

02:34:34

That's who I have over in London.

02:34:35

Yep.

02:34:36

Hank, who do you have?

02:34:37

Loss of the week.

02:34:38

I agree with those two.

02:34:39

Yeah.

02:34:40

Loss of the week max. Do you have anyone else for loss of the week?

02:34:42

Cardinals.

02:34:43

Why?

02:34:44

No, that.

02:34:44

No, you didn't understand the loss of the week.

02:34:48

No, that was the most fun loss. That was my favorite.

02:34:51

That wasn't. That's.

02:34:52

That's your, that's your definition of loss of the week. That's. This is mine.

02:34:55

Okay, so that game has one vote. Actually. No, that. Now that wins loss because it has the least amount of votes.

02:35:01

Yeah.

02:35:01

Yeah.

02:35:02

Good.

02:35:03

Cardinals.

02:35:06

Eagles might have lost the week.

02:35:07

They needed a loss yeah, Cardinals.

02:35:10

More fun.

02:35:11

Eagles.

02:35:12

Not fun for me.

02:35:12

Yeah. Okay, let's finish up. We got who's back of the week. We're talking college football on Wednesday. We got a lot to talk about, including James Franklin, who's back of the week is sponsored by Twisted Tea. Twisted Tea is a refreshing hard iced tea made with real Brewed tea and 5% alcohol. 02:35:53

Back of the week is pft. I'm holding the football. I have been for the last 10 minutes or so. Just a great football. Great thing to have in your possession. Collection.

02:36:03

Incredible football.

02:36:03

Incredible football.

02:36:05

You can have it back. Yeah, thanks.

02:36:07

It's yours. Have it whenever you want.

02:36:09

My other back of the week is Taylor Swift.

02:36:12

Why?

02:36:12

What happened?

02:36:13

She came out with an album.

02:36:14

Yeah.

02:36:15

I have not listened to it. I probably never will. Heard it was a flop.

02:36:19

All right, that's a good recap.

02:36:22

Wait, was it a flop?

02:36:23

How many stars do you give it?

02:36:24

From what I've. I'd give it. Not our best.

02:36:26

Are Swifty saying.

02:36:27

Some are saying it's. It's chat. GPT.

02:36:30

It's.

02:36:30

It's.

02:36:30

Yeah.

02:36:30

Oh, no, wait. Are these real? Because I. Yeah, I gotta get it on.

02:36:35

They're doing full dissections on Tick tock and.

02:36:38

And it's not. It's not a good album.

02:36:41

That's what they're saying.

02:36:42

Travis Kelsey's dick.

02:36:43

Yeah. Travis Kelsey has a hog.

02:36:45

Okay.

02:36:46

It's song.

02:36:47

Oh, my God. Actually, speaking of that, speaking of Travis Kelsey, did you see Dante's tweet? Dante the Don.

02:36:55

No, I did not tweet about Travis Kelly Chelsea's dick.

02:36:59

I gotta find this. I gotta find this.

02:37:02

Do you.

02:37:02

I do. It's an Alzheimer.

02:37:04

Wait, did you listen to it? Pft. Or any of it?

02:37:06

I. I did. I listened to like 15 seconds of the first one, which I think is ophelia.

02:37:13

Okay. The 17th song that's been named Ophelia.

02:37:17

Not her best. Yeah, the 15 seconds didn't blow me away.

02:37:21

Okay.

02:37:23

All right. This is co worker and friend Dante the Don in a now deleted tweet. My biggest takeaway from The Taylor Swift album, besides being so happy she's working with people besides Antof again. Is that Travis Kelsey's piece is only 9 inches, question mark. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I just assumed he'd be working with more than that.

02:37:49

All right.

02:37:50

Okay, that's it. That only nine inches. Credit Dante.

02:37:54

Nine inches isn't big enough for Dante.

02:37:56

It's only nine.

02:37:57

Dante's hung like a can of corn.

02:37:59

He can barely feel nine inches. It's what he's saying. All right, wait, but are people actually saying this is not a good album? Memes.

02:38:11

There's. There's.

02:38:12

Not that I'm not her best.

02:38:13

Not her best. Not her best.

02:38:15

But like, I always assumed every album she puts out, people are like, oh, that's the best one ever.

02:38:21

I've seen more negative discourse, and it's. I think there's a lot of Swifties that have built. Put themselves in a tough spot where, like, their entire personality is loving Taylor Swift. So they can't really say. Come out and say that.

02:38:32

You owe it to her, though, as a fan. It's not her best.

02:38:35

Yeah, but I've seen. I've seen. I've seen some interesting.

02:38:39

I'm going to have to look that up.

02:38:40

There could be a chance that, like, maybe they enjoy the songs that she writes when she's sad more than the song she writes when she's happy. Happy.

02:38:47

Yeah.

02:38:47

That could be a real thing.

02:38:49

Could absolutely be a real thing. All right. Pft.

02:38:51

You're like. People listen to this podcast way more.

02:38:53

I saw someone say that.

02:38:55

Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. When?

02:38:56

Like, maybe she's the gym teacher and Travis Kelsey is the English teacher.

02:39:01

Oh, okay.

02:39:04

Why?

02:39:04

Because the lyrics weren't. Weren't great.

02:39:06

Are you.

02:39:07

Oh, she's, ah.

02:39:08

She's not English. Yeah. I thought you were gonna go down the whole gaylor Swift rabbit hole, which is why child, I don't.

02:39:14

Yeah. What's that?

02:39:15

I recommend.

02:39:15

I have no idea.

02:39:16

What is that?

02:39:17

There's a. There's a deep, deep fan community of Taylor Swift. They call themselves the gaylors.

02:39:23

Okay.

02:39:23

And they have been speculating for years that Taylor Swift is a lesbian.

02:39:28

Ah.

02:39:29

And she's been sending, like, secret signals to that community through her lyrics over the years.

02:39:33

I think that's just probably the lesbians that want.

02:39:35

No, no, no. Definitely not. And then when the engagement photo drops dropped, they had a meltdown because they were like, is this. Is this a whole sham? Have our. Have our lives been in. In pursuit of something that was a lie? The entire time.

02:39:49

Got it.

02:39:50

But then you had a couple of them Explain. Actually, there's deeper meaning behind all this. And don't worry, she's still. She's playing on your team. Yeah, Yeah.

02:39:57

I want to. I want to say something, but I. I. No, no, I'm not going to say what you think I'm going to say something that's getting me in trouble with the Swifties? I actually would say something that's probably way more dangerous for myself. Did you guys see the lesbian memes?

02:40:15

Yes.

02:40:15

Oh, my smoke show?

02:40:19

Where?

02:40:20

Come on.

02:40:21

I told you. That's. That's way more of a direct threat towards me to bring this up. Can you pull Swift.

02:40:26

Oh, my God.

02:40:28

Type in lesbian memes.

02:40:29

No memes. Type in meme. Not lesbian meme. There's a memes doppelganger.

02:40:35

I thought there was like, a lesbian memes doppelganger.

02:40:38

That's very funny.

02:40:39

Oh, yeah. Okay, now, I thought you were. I thought there was, like, a lesbian meme that was going around.

02:40:46

He's.

02:40:46

He did not tweet about it. What do you did.

02:40:49

That's where I saw it.

02:40:50

Yeah.

02:40:50

Memes. The picture that he posted. Me and Big Cat. The football. Did you also make us fat?

02:40:55

No.

02:40:55

Memes. Did you refollow any of us?

02:40:59

No.

02:41:00

Oh, okay. There it is. There she is. You didn't see his 50?

02:41:03

No.

02:41:05

This is lesbian memes.

02:41:08

Yeah, that does look a lot like memes.

02:41:11

Lesbian memes. I love it.

02:41:14

So just substitute. Substitute what she's saying about Sydney Sweeney. For the New York. Yeah.

02:41:18

For the Jazz.

02:41:19

That's accurate.

02:41:19

Yeah. Memes. Would. Would you date lesbian memes?

02:41:26

Sure.

02:41:26

Okay, here we go. Make a super memes.

02:41:31

I don't think she'd be interested.

02:41:34

Well, yeah, maybe, Maybe not. Who's to say?

02:41:39

Put on a nice dress.

02:41:41

Okay. Pft. Or who's back? Or did you have another one, Hank?

02:41:44

No.

02:41:45

NHL's come back this week. Way too soon.

02:41:46

NHL is back and it's Tuesday. It's weird seeing, like, the lineups. There's, like, a very specific, like, fringe of hockey Twitter that just goes completely silent in the off season. And then it's always shocking to see those people posting again.

02:42:01

Yeah.

02:42:01

With their weird stats and lineups and all this.

02:42:04

It.

02:42:04

It.

02:42:04

It's too early. Yeah. It's too early for the NHL.

02:42:07

It's way.

02:42:08

It's.

02:42:08

It's still 80 degrees.

02:42:09

Yeah.

02:42:10

All right.

02:42:11

Have a catching.

02:42:11

Pft. Your who's back.

02:42:13

My who's back of the week is Hank.

02:42:15

Oh, whoa. Yeah.

02:42:16

Because our boy Drake May lit it up tonight. Credit to Hank.

02:42:22

Oh yeah.

02:42:22

For Drake May believer you too. And we're just being good friends with each other. Me and Hank are on the same team game. Things are going swimmingly. That's going to continue for the rest of this week. Right, Hank?

02:42:32

For sure.

02:42:33

For sure. Why Hank and are playing for $5,000 tomorrow.

02:42:36

Oh, golf.

02:42:37

Round of golf.

02:42:38

This is Hank's never ending debt.

02:42:40

Yep.

02:42:41

The bottomless debt.

02:42:42

Bottomless debt.

02:42:43

He's got it right now. Oh, we know you. Yeah. Every bet today.

02:42:48

It's a good day.

02:42:49

I'm just sorry, sorry, sorry for trying to make content.

02:42:52

No, I like the content.

02:42:53

It's good content.

02:42:54

But then you say like this is Hank's never ending debt. Like I could end the debt. And then you.

02:42:57

Well, it is funny then you do.

02:42:59

That's like you make me feel bad about it.

02:43:01

I'm not. I'm not trying make you feel bad. This is funny that it is like a year that we've been doing like a debt that then just turns into a golf. Which I like.

02:43:08

No, false. It's been since the summer.

02:43:11

I thought this was from the non dunking.

02:43:14

No, this is the long drive.

02:43:17

Which was. Which what started the long drive?

02:43:20

I entrapped Hank into accepting the long drive right after he missed the dunking thing.

02:43:24

So we know.

02:43:25

No, no, no.

02:43:26

The dunk.

02:43:27

We did the three point thing. I didn't have. I didn't owe anyone any money after the dunking thing.

02:43:30

Okay.

02:43:32

But then long drive.

02:43:33

And he entrapped me in the long drive.

02:43:35

Cuz I knew he was upset.

02:43:36

I didn't know that part.

02:43:37

You. You the one that set it up.

02:43:39

The long drive. Yeah, I did. Yeah.

02:43:41

Is right after he didn't dunk.

02:43:43

Yeah.

02:43:43

You're like, all right, what if it was $1,000 per yard?

02:43:45

Oh, my bad.

02:43:46

Yeah, yeah.

02:43:46

Worked out literally all you remember anything.

02:43:48

But we're doing. We're doing. Yeah. $5,000.

02:43:51

Stand up. It's my fault.

02:43:52

And. And Hank is. Hank's dialed right now in terms of just seeing the world. He was great at golf on Saturday and he was great at bets today. Just like understanding sports. And I love watching you guys play.

02:44:04

Golf because you both are like about the same now when Hank's maybe a little bit better.

02:44:10

Yeah, he's better. He's better.

02:44:11

But when PFT always elevates his game with Hank. That's the best part.

02:44:15

But my problem is I'm afraid of Hank now because he's on hot strength streak. Hank is hotter than A pistol.

02:44:20

He's really hot.

02:44:20

Hank is the hottest guy in the world right now. Yeah. So congrats, Hank.

02:44:27

Congrats to you.

02:44:27

I mean, you.

02:44:28

Like I said, I. I never could have made patriots money line for the pick.

02:44:33

I didn't have.

02:44:33

I didn't have the balls.

02:44:34

No. Congrats to you.

02:44:35

Wow.

02:44:35

Congrats to you.

02:44:36

Like that.

02:44:36

That was a great seeing that. Seeing that one.

02:44:38

Really smart. Yeah.

02:44:39

Seeing that one next to and the.

02:44:40

Commanders back like that's. I should have Paul.

02:44:44

He never really left hand up.

02:44:45

I apologize for not making. Making Jay and Daniels and you my who's back of the week.

02:44:49

That's fine.

02:44:50

Because they're like, they're so back.

02:44:52

That's what I love about you. You know what I love about Hank is like, when he sees good quarterback play, he will acknowledge it.

02:44:58

Yeah.

02:44:58

Openly. And he doesn't care who hears. Yeah. And sometimes there'll be haters being like, actually, that guy's not that good.

02:45:04

But that wasn't a dot. Like, don't.

02:45:05

How don't.

02:45:06

If I see a dot, I'm calling out a dot.

02:45:07

You're the dot commander.

02:45:08

You're a dot guy.

02:45:09

What is it? Straight up? No strokes?

02:45:11

No, there's strokes.

02:45:12

What are the strokes?

02:45:13

I got to look up the course, but I think it's six or eight.

02:45:17

I think pft. Can I bet? Pft straight up?

02:45:20

Yeah.

02:45:21

This is kind of my home course.

02:45:22

Anyone want to bet me straight up? I'll bet you straight up.

02:45:27

I'll take Hank against pft.

02:45:29

Yeah.

02:45:29

Okay. Great.

02:45:30

Okay.

02:45:31

I believe in my boy. He elevate. Do you factor fiction? He elevates his game when he plays against you.

02:45:36

For sure. Some could say I just crumble.

02:45:39

I think it's more. He elevates.

02:45:41

Yeah.

02:45:41

I think it's maybe a little bit.

02:45:42

Of both, but maybe a little both. But I know that. I think the best golf I've seen PFT play is usually versu.

02:45:50

I think Hank brings out the best in me in terms of my competitiveness athletically. And I think I bring out the best in Hank in terms of his funniness when he melts down.

02:46:00

Eight strokes.

02:46:01

Eight.

02:46:01

Eight strokes.

02:46:02

Okay. All right, I'll. I'll bet. I'll bet. How about I'll have it for 500 bucks?

02:46:08

Okay.

02:46:09

So. All right. Great.

02:46:10

Four.

02:46:10

Yeah. All right. So you guys are playing Monday.

02:46:14

Monday.

02:46:15

Monday.

02:46:15

All right.

02:46:16

Zed the video out, Max.

02:46:19

What?

02:46:20

What?

02:46:20

What video?

02:46:21

How could it be out?

02:46:22

This video. The golf video. Yeah. Is it out yet?

02:46:24

People should ask.

02:46:26

No, the one that we're shooting this.

02:46:27

Afternoon, by the way, one thing we didn't bring up. Saturday was one of the weirdest headline days with not only Mark Sanchez, but Diana Rossini just being like, Mac Jones saw a deadbeat body.

02:46:36

Yeah. Saw a dead body.

02:46:37

That was crazy.

02:46:38

Yeah.

02:46:40

What.

02:46:40

Don't. Don't know how that story didn't get.

02:46:42

Out before, what, Right before the game. Yeah.

02:46:46

Would you. Would that make you more likely or less likely to bet on M. Jones?

02:46:51

I think less.

02:46:52

I think less, too. And I.

02:46:53

So I'm happy. I didn't know.

02:46:54

I would think that he was, like.

02:46:55

Hallucinating because usually, like, I want to know if someone's smashing a watermelon or if someone had a baby.

02:47:01

Yeah.

02:47:01

I don't think I want to know if someone saw a dead body.

02:47:03

I think I was probably just like, yep, it's going to happen to everyone.

02:47:06

Yeah. Right. Like, that could be me tomorrow if you don't play. Well, I think that's true. Yeah.

02:47:10

I would have seen that and just been like, damn, the Niners really are banged up.

02:47:13

Yeah.

02:47:14

What was in the. In the training room.

02:47:17

Yeah. All right.

02:47:18

My.

02:47:19

Who's back is playoff baseball? Max, we got to talk. So we had playoff baseball this weekend. The Yankees. Quick. We can. We can hit each series real quick. The Tigers, Mariners has been awesome. One, one. First game, extra innings. Second game. The Mariners are able to. To hit. I think it was Polanco hit both solo home runs off school. Mariners outlast them. 3, 2. That crowd has been awesome. I also love. Just like the Mariners crowd because it's just a bunch of dudes. Every time they go to the crowd, you know, like, when it's Buffalo, it's like guys with their shirts off. Mariners crowd is just dudes with, you know, like, a rain jacket on and a thin mustache.

02:47:59

Yeah.

02:47:59

And like a cool ball cap. Yeah.

02:48:01

Usually wearing some sort of, like, muted blue color. Like, officially the team blue color.

02:48:06

Yeah.

02:48:06

But just like a nice. A nice, like, vest that goes over a dress shirt and a raincoat on that. I'm rooting for Seattle.

02:48:14

Yeah.

02:48:15

It's been so long. The last time they had a home playoff win, I think, was what, 2001. It's been a long time for the Mariners. Yeah. It's crazy. And, yeah, this is a good team.

02:48:24

Fun team, fun series. Just awesome. First two games of playoff baseball, and then. Then the Yankees have just gotten the shit kicked out of them by the. By the Blue Jays. Blue Jays are good.

02:48:35

Vlad junior's home run today was awesome.

02:48:37

Did you hear the French call? No, it was sick.

02:48:40

I haven't heard that one yet.

02:48:40

Dude. His home run, he, he absolutely no doubted that grand slam.

02:48:45

He didn't even move after he hit it. He just stood there and watch it.

02:48:48

And then.

02:48:48

Great bat flip.

02:48:50

Yeah.

02:48:50

Blue Jays are a fun team.

02:48:51

And you see the final scores. 13, 7. You're like, oh, must have been back and forth. No, no, it was you. Savage had what, five and a third of no hit baseball. And then, you know, they brought in their bullpen. The, the Yankees hit some, some home runs. Cody Bellinger hit one. Aaron Judge, I mean, it's. He's had some big. He had a big moment. Game one where they were bases loaded and he chased in a really bad way. Then he hit a double when they were down 6:1, which is very. Aaron Judge.

02:49:25

I don't know. I don't think that the Yankees should celebrate winning a wild card round. I think every other. No, Hank, don't give me the. I can't exist.

02:49:34

Hold on, Hank. Let him make his point.

02:49:36

I think every other team can do it.

02:49:38

They're the.

02:49:39

You're supposed to be the Yankees.

02:49:40

He's having one 25 years.

02:49:43

What's the standard for New York?

02:49:44

They won one World Series. You've won as many World Series. Big cats won as many World Series. We've won way more World Series.

02:49:51

Yeah, but I'm saying you're the New York. The, the standard shouldn't just be winning a wild card Series. You shouldn't celebrate that.

02:49:59

I mean, they hadn't beat the Red Sox since 2003. So I, that I kind of understand.

02:50:04

I'm starting. So I, I am a big believer in the. Celebrate everything. But with the way the Yankees and the Cubs played on Saturday, maybe just pour the beers, don't drink them.

02:50:21

Yes. Spray each other down.

02:50:22

Just, just, just pour the beers.

02:50:24

They're also.

02:50:24

Pour the beers on each other, don't drink them.

02:50:26

There's also a difference.

02:50:27

You got a game in 24 hours.

02:50:28

With a team that's been to the postseason, had had a little bit of postseason.

02:50:31

Make the playoffs.

02:50:32

Yes. Let's say, let's say you're a team that has like hypothetically made it to the World Series, maybe won a couple playoff series and some other years in recent memory. But the big thing is like you can't, you can't get over the hump. You can't win another. Maybe they shouldn't be celebrating the wild card win. Yeah, you know, actually, no, I think it's celebrate Everything. I think it's just the Yankees. Just the. You're supposed to be the Yankees.

02:50:57

Celebrate everything, though. I can't. I can't pick and choose. I got to just stay consistent. Yankees are.

02:51:02

They can have beards now.

02:51:03

It's not. It's not.

02:51:04

It's not the Yankees.

02:51:05

Yeah, they're in trouble. Down oh, two. And then, Max, we're both down 01. Who do you think's in a worse spot? I think you make an argument either way.

02:51:14

I.

02:51:14

Okay. Because you're home.

02:51:16

Because we're home and we're playing the Dodgers.

02:51:18

Okay. Fair. What Craig Counsel did with Matthew Boyd, I will never understand. So that was.

02:51:26

Rob Thompson had a questionable. Questionable move as well.

02:51:29

As a baseball guy, though, Max, do you.

02:51:30

What did he do?

02:51:31

So Matthew Boyd is our. The Cubs are very thin in starting pitching now. Kate Horton, our best starting pitcher. Thatcher got hurt with a week left in the season. Justin Steele, he got hurt two weeks into the season. So he's been out all year. But those are our one and two guys. Matthew Boyd's been pretty good this year. Very good this year. At times he faded a little at the end, but he's been very good this year. He's also pitched, like a ton of innings this year. He's never historically been good on short rest. Craig Council decided to pitch him on short rest. Game one, he got absolutely lit up. Only pitched. He didn't even get out of the first inning. I was going into game one thinking that we were going to go full bullpen game. And Colin Ray is also on the. On the roster. He could have pitched full bullpen game. We're probably not going to win game one anyway because Peralta is nasty for the brewers, but at least you get Matthew Boyd. Game 2 on Monday night, full rest. Instead. We lost and we burned Matthew Boyd. I don't understand it.

02:52:32

How many pitches?

02:52:34

Well, he only. So that was the argument. Like, on Tuesday, he only threw 58 pitches against the Padres. They're like, oh, he's gonna be fine. But short rest is still short wrestling. You gotta get amped up. For a start, he only threw 30 pitches. But, like, he's still. Now if you have to go with him on Thursday, it will be. No, Thursday would be regular rest, right? Yeah.

02:52:52

Thursday be regular Thursday, you're fine.

02:52:54

Yeah, but still, like, I don't. I. I would have felt so much better if The Cubs were down 01 with Matthew Boyd regular rest Monday night instead. That. That just didn't happen.

02:53:03

They just went for the empty. The Tank.

02:53:05

I don't know.

02:53:06

I. I was like, treat game one like a must win dude.

02:53:09

It was so crazy. I went to sleep on Friday night and I was like, you know when, like the last second before you go to sleep and you're kind of like still kind of scrolling your phone and you're like a little bit not hallucinating, but I saw the Matthew boys starting game one and then I woke up and I was like, did I, did I imagine that? Like, I didn't think that was going to happen. And then I was like, it is happening.

02:53:31

So that's the other thing. Because the way that the NLDS is like shaped out like he could have gone game two and still gone game five on normal.

02:53:42

Exactly. And you had.

02:53:43

It's not like you're. You're getting an extra start. I mean, hypothetically, you could be, but you still would have him lined up for game five.

02:53:51

And you had a day off on Sunday. So you could have emptied your bullpen on Saturday and been fine for Monday and you get a day off on Tuesday. So that's where I was just very confused. So I don't know. I will see long. Not a long series, short series for both of us. But you, Max, what are you thinking about the Phillies? It's.

02:54:10

I mean, it's the same thing as last year. The top of the order was just an laid. An absolute stinker. One for 11, six strikeouts. I think they had one. They had one good inning where TE Oscar Hernandez just decided he wasn't going to run for a beat.

02:54:27

Baseball.

02:54:27

Which was bizarre. But then of course, he comes back and hits a 3, 3 run bomb that Matt Strum may or may not have been tipping pitches.

02:54:37

Oh, I saw that. They were stealing his pitches.

02:54:40

Yeah. But then Ben Verlander did. He tweeted something about how he was getting his pitches tipped. And then Matt Strom replied to him on Twitter, just basically dunking on him.

02:54:50

Love that.

02:54:52

So maybe he wasn't getting something was going on on. And the Dodgers just have so many fucking guys. We scored three runs off in six innings off of Ohtani, which you would think is good. And then you get to their bullpen, which is bad. But then they just bring in glass now and then. And then Roki to close the game. And it's like they just have guys on guys on guys and show A goes over four with four strikeouts and it just doesn't matter. They still put up five runs. It's like they have so many guys and if they have so many guys, our three Stars can't lay an egg and they're. And they just contin. They just continue to lay eggs.

02:55:33

So where. Yeah, where are you at right now in Schwarber? Because I know you said some things in the heat of the.

02:55:36

No, I don't mean it. Schwarber's been historic.

02:55:39

What did you say in the heat of the moment?

02:55:40

I think I just said I'm done with Schwarber.

02:55:42

Said I'm almost done. You didn't even go all the way.

02:55:44

Are you no longer almost done or you still.

02:55:46

No, he's gonna hit. He's gonna hit a homer tonight. Yeah, he's going to. I knit. I know he's going to hit a homer.

02:55:52

I knew you didn't mean that.

02:55:53

Yeah, you didn't.

02:55:54

But yeah, it's the heat of the moment. And he had, he was one that. He had runners in scoring position where we could have extended the lead.

02:56:01

We were.

02:56:02

When we were up three nothing. He had runners on first and second and he struck out with two outs like we had so many opportunities. Edmundo Sosa had bases loaded. They, they bring in a reliever and he just throws a meatball over the middle of the plate that he flies out that he easily could have hit a homer, grand slam and flipped the entire game. You got Monday's must win. That's what's bullshit about the fucking Dodgers. We just, we, we see Shohei game one now. We have Blake Snell. Like they just have more guys. They just have like four of the top, top 10 pitchers in baseball just on their team team. And then their lineup is disgusting. And then Kike Hernandez, I don't know what is up with him. October comes and he is just a fucking killer. That pitch that he hit was a per. Was a perfect change up from Christopher Sanchez to run double.

02:56:55

Like of course I can. I can hear the pain in your voice today. I heard it during the Boomers same and it made me sad. I hear it now. I know you had a tough weekend. When it comes to Philly sports, if you were to say like which, which of the three events is taking the most toll on you? Philly by number one. So you're in like, bummer. I might be done with baseball mode. Yeah. Yeah.

02:57:18

And it's a five game series. You go down 10 in a five game series, you just feel like you're dead.

02:57:24

Especially at home. Like we like that's, that's, that that's a big thing.

02:57:28

Yeah. Because if the Cubs win Monday night.

02:57:30

When you're up three zero, you're you're up three.

02:57:33

Zero.

02:57:33

You. Yeah.

02:57:34

Is this the last dance?

02:57:36

Oh, yeah, that's the other thing. Like, Schwarber is probably gone. Ranger Suarez is probably gone. Like, you're gonna. We have young guys that we're gonna bring up that are hopefully gonna, you know, fill the void. But you don't know. Like this. It's. It is nearing the end of our run. Like Zach Wheeler. Who knows what he's gonna be when he comes back?

02:57:59

Like, all right, win. Must win money. We're going to stream Must win money. So must win Monday, Phillies and then.

02:58:05

Cubs and win against Blake's now.

02:58:08

Yeah. Yeah, I actually would. Yeah, you're probably right. The Matthew Boyd thing made me very mad, and I. It isn't revisionist history because I actually said it on Thursday on multiple shows. I was like, you, why wouldn't you go bullpen? But I do think you probably are in a worse spot because if the Cubs win Monday, they did their job in Milwaukee. Milwaukee. The Phillies have to win Monday.

02:58:30

I would say both teams probably have to.

02:58:31

Oh, they have to win. But I'm saying, like, if the Cubs win on Monday, it's like, hey, you did your job. If the Dodgers or if the Phillies win on Monday, it's like, fuck.

02:58:39

Now.

02:58:39

Fuck.

02:58:40

The Dodgers did their job. Now we got to go win one.

02:58:42

Like, start of the series. If you were told, Big Cat, that you're going back to Chicago 1 1.

02:58:46

Yeah. Oh, I. I said, you're pumped.

02:58:49

If.

02:58:49

If Matthew Boyd hadn't pitched on Saturday and we were down 01, I would have been like, that's exactly kind of what I expected. Bullpen game Verse Peralta. That's a Brewers advantage every single day. I expected to lose game one. I just didn't expect to also burn our best starting pitcher.

02:59:06

I would just love to have the PMT Civil War day also.

02:59:10

Rob. Rob Thompson just absolutely. David Robertson gets a big out, gets out of a jam for Christopher Sanchez, and we have our entire bowl pen at our disposal, plus an off day the next day. The guys haven't pitched in a week. The fact that you bring Robertson back out there for another inning is so inexcusable. Like, empty the fucking bullpen. You have an off day.

02:59:32

Yeah.

02:59:32

Use your fucking guys. You do not need 41 year old David Robertson trying to give you more. Like, go. Go back to the dugout and then come back out. Like, use your fucking guys.

02:59:43

Yeah. I will say that the one. The one, like, good thing that Craig Counsel did do when the game, it got out of hand, like, Michael Bush hit a home run, and to. To lead off the game, I was like, this is going to be awesome. And then the brewers put up six in the first inning, in three in the second inning. He did not, like, go to anyone of, like, importance in the bullpen. So that was good. Like, he didn't make something bad even worse by burning guys that we actually, like, really, really need. So. But still, Matthew Boyd, that was. Was short rest. He's like. He pitched, like, 180 innings this year, and he's always. He. I think he's done short rest three times in his career, and every time it's not been good. I don't get it. I feel like every short rest has, like. Short rest is always a disadvantage, Max. Is it not? Like, there's just never. There's only a few guys, right?

03:00:37

You see, like, the bum guard, like, people talk about, like, the bum gardeners of the world who did it.

03:00:41

There's only, like, forever three of those guys, right?

03:00:44

And so that's why, to me, Zach.

03:00:45

Wheeler, we won't do it with him.

03:00:46

Right. If you don't. If you. Unless you are in a. Like, short rest is for the end of a series.

03:00:52

Yeah.

03:00:52

Not the fucking first game of a series.

03:00:54

Yeah. Short rest is without a doubt. It's like game seven. Empty your tank, Right? Scherzer's here.

03:00:59

Right? They did it for game one.

03:01:01

Yeah.

03:01:02

Nuts. Nuts.

03:01:04

All right.

03:01:05

Good show, boys. Long show, tight show, tight show. All right. Good luck in golf tomorrow, boys, and say good luck. I'm talking. Talking just to you.
