Marco Rubio gives updates on Iran. The president taps a familiar name to replace Tulsi Gabbard, and Google wants approval to release 32 million mosquitoes in California and Florida. I'm Daily Wire executive editor John Bickley. Georgia Howe is off on a little mini vacation today. It's Tuesday, June 2nd. This is Evening Wire. Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke on Iran at a heated committee hearing today. Daily Wire foreign affairs reporter Kassia Kiva has the details.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio repeatedly clashed with Senate Democrats during a Foreign Relations Committee hearing Tuesday as lawmakers pressed him on Iran. Here's one heated exchange between Rubio and Senator Cory Booker.
Have made our adversary in a stronger negotiating position, and now we're begging to get back into a deal that you all cracked in the first place.
There's no one begging for anything here. The Iranians might be begging because their economy is losing hundreds of millions of dollars stronger today. I don't know where you're getting this perception that Iran is stronger. Iran has no navy left. They've lost a substantial percentage of their defense industrial base, and their economy is far worse today, and I mean far worse today, than it was 6 to 9 months ago.
The hearing turned especially combative when Senator Jackie Rosen accused Rubio of attending a party with President Trump instead of participating in Iran negotiations in Pakistan with Vice President J.D. Vance. Take a listen.
What party was I at?
I was at a party publicly reported, and there's photos there. But what party? No, no, no, no. But you're going to say I'm going to answer it.
I'm going to answer that. You don't know what you're talking about. He has the floor. I know your staff wrote up this cute statement for your TikTok video, but it's not true and it's not real.
Rubio said he was alongside President Trump throughout the negotiations while remaining in constant contact with administration officials handling the talks.
The creator of the hit show Entourage has gone viral after posting a takedown on the current state of LA and endorsing mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt. Daily Wire Entertainment reporter Amanda Harding has more.
Doug Ellen posted a video to Instagram last week ranting about the, quote, collapse of Los Angeles and ripping into Mayor Karen Bass.
Everyone in my neighborhood has got the same problem. They're fucking all putting cameras and hiring security guards because we're all getting broken into. It's not made up. It's not false. And this city has collapsed in the last 5 years. There is no fucking denying it unless you have an agenda, and I don't know what that is.
Ellen said he has grown to hate the city in the past 5 years, especially after his house was burglarized in 2023. Ellen's Instagram rant went viral and has spotlighted the discontent among LA's liberals with the city's current Democratic leadership. Ellen has thrown his support behind Spencer Pratt, the upstart candidate gaining steam ahead of this year's election. Here's Ellen on hot mics with Billy Bush.
The amount of real liberal people, and we're talking about people who will fight you if you say you like Donald Trump, those people are fed up with what's going on in LA. I am not a Donald Trump fan, I did not vote for him, and I'm not gonna sit here and tell you Spencer Pratt can save LA. What I can tell you is the status quo is destroying it, and we need to try something different.
Maine Governor Janet Mills reminded voters this week that they can still vote for her even though she suspended her campaign for U.S. Senate. Daily Wire reporter Zach Jewell has more.
Mills told the Portland Press Herald that voters shouldn't get the wrong idea about her April decision to suspend. She said, quote, I simply suspended active campaigning. I am still on the ballot. Her comments come as Graham Plattner, the novice Democrat who pushed her out of the primary, is rocked by another scandal. The latest controversy is over explicit messages he sent to other women after he married in 2023. While he and his wife have disputed aspects of reports around the messages, Graham has admitted that they are real. And in addition to Plattner, the scandal has also wrapped up Morris Katz, the architect of Zoran Mamdani's successful New York City mayoral campaign. According to reports, Katz tried to browbeat Plattner's former political director into denying the salacious messages. After the messages went public, Katz openly fumed at, quote, incompetent opportunistic operatives.
A MrBeast contestant who won a jet from the YouTuber has allegedly been arrested for drug trafficking. Daily Wire reporter and host of That's So Criminal, Lyndon Blake, has the story.
A feel-good internet story has now turned into a viral international drug case. Jabari Brown, a young pilot who won a multi-million dollar private jet in a MrBeast competition, has been arrested in Paraguay. This is after drug enforcement agents discovered more than 570 lbs of marijuana aboard a private jet he copiloted from Miami. The 21-year-old was one of 4 Americans detained, but in an unexpected turn, he was the only one to walk free. Officials said Brown wasn't the owner of the jet in question. They identified an Estonian businessman as its owner and pilot, and he had reportedly fled the country before the bust. The 3 other passengers have been slapped with charges relating to international drug trafficking, and Brown was released by police with no charges.

During the raids, the FBI seized over 127,000 Bitcoin which is valued over $8 billion. The FBI estimates that Americans have been scammed out of more than $20 billion via these foreign operations. Director Kash Patel issued a stern warning following the raid, saying, quote, if you target Americans, we will find you, disrupt your network, and bring every available tool of the federal government down on you.

In February, Gates told employees of his nonprofit Gates Foundation that he was accused of 20 separate affairs during his divorce from his ex-wife Melinda. He has admitted to 2 of them with Russian women. Those affairs were discovered in a batch of emails from the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The scandal around Gates's failed marriage has fed into the controversy behind his notorious ties to Epstein. Emails suggest that Epstein attempted to use Gates's extramarital affairs against him as blackmail. Gates has said he, quote, did nothing illicit while spending time with Epstein in places such as Germany, France, New York, and DC.
President Trump has named his replacement for Tulsi Gabbard. Daily Wire homepage managing editor Jordan Schroeder has more.
President Trump announced Tuesday that he is appointing Federal Housing Finance Agency Director William J. Pulte to be the acting director of national intelligence after Tulsi Gabbard's resignation last month. Pulte, a staunch Trump ally with a reputation for aggressive institutional cleanups, will maintain his current role leading the Federal Housing Finance Agency and overseeing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters is free after being released from a Colorado correctional facility on Monday. Her release comes after Colorado's Democrat Governor Jared Polis finally gave in to pressure from the White House, ultimately commuting her punitive sentence. Peters is known as the grandmother who dared to ask questions about the 2020 election. Back in April, the Colorado Court of Appeals ruled that her trial judge Matthew Barrett was biased against her conservative beliefs and violated her First Amendment rights. Big tech giant Google is seeking federal approval from the EPA to release 32 million, quote, good mosquitoes across California and Florida. This doesn't sound sketchy at all. Daily Wire contributor Tim Pearce has the details.
The public health program titled Debug Project was created by Google's parent company Alphabet a decade ago. It plans to release male mosquitoes carrying Wolbachia to mate with wild females. Wolbachia is a parasitic bacterium that disrupts reproduction. Males carrying it mate with wild females, leaving them unable to produce viable offspring. It is completely harmless to humans as well, as it is already naturally occurring in many other insects. The surplus of mosquitoes will not cause any more bug bites, as only females bite humans, possibly infecting with West Nile, Zika, and yellow fever. The quote "good bugs," as Google refers to them, would prevent the world's deadliest disease vector from infecting millions and killing between 500,000 and 1 million individuals every year by preventing the bad bugs from being born altogether. A caveat, however, this is nearly identical to the plot of the 1997 horror film Mimic, and that led to superbugs hunting New Yorkers in the sewers.
And NVIDIA has introduced a new PC built specifically for running AI agents. The release marks a shift in AI manufacturing as developers move beyond interface platforms where users enter prompts into AI chat feeds toward AI agents, which are programmed to autonomously complete tasks without the need for continuous human management. Ian Buck, NVIDIA's vice president for hyperscale and high-performance computing, said, quote, "AI is moving from answering questions to doing real work." The computers will be powered by the new RTX Sparks chip, which NVIDIA has called, quote, "the most efficient PC chip ever built." All right, there's your drive home updates.
