New allegations drop against Graham Plattner. Two key California races still remain in limbo, and a former national security advisor to Trump pleads guilty to mishandling classified documents. I'm Georgia Howe, back from vacation with Daily Wire executive editor John Bickley. It's Thursday, June 4th, and this is Evening Wire.
The New York Times published new allegations today against Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Plattner. In which 3 of his ex-girlfriends described his actions as intimidating and disturbing. John Featherston, a senior reporter and host for Mainewire, has more.
3 ex-girlfriends are confirming what we've already learned about Mr. Plattner, is that he's kind of a bully, doesn't respect women, tries to intimidate them, and has a history of aggressive inappropriate behavior. He grabbed one of his girlfriends by the arm and he locked her in a room and blocked her from getting out of a room. You know, if you brace that against his comments about, you know, women getting raped and how he's blamed women in the past that it was their fault for getting raped. It shows you that he has an abusive history with his thought patterns.
Meanwhile, Senator John Fetterman has emerged as one of Plattner's biggest critics on the left, condemning his own party for continuing to, quote, carry water for Plattner.
You know, when I was growing up, if someone had a clear Nazi tattoo on them, you probably could conclude that there's a Nazi sympathizer. How You know, at some point, are you going to continue to defend that or dismiss that?
The new investigation reveals that the chaotic anti-ICE protests outside a Newark detention facility were carefully coordinated rather than spontaneous community outrage. Daily Wire immigration reporter Jenny Ter has the details.
Fox News infiltrated encrypted signal chats and obtained tax and strategy documents that uncovered a network of about 100 left-wing groups allegedly involved in inciting the riot. The network, which included groups like the ACLU and Democratic Socialists of America, all followed the, quote, Delaney Hall creator brief, which instructed activists to brand the facility a, quote, concentration camp and to describe detainees as, quote, kidnapped rather than arrested. The chat spelled out what amounted to military supply runs, with the network distributing vast amounts of respirators, shatterproof goggles, and decontamination wipes for pepper spray. The investigation's findings have reportedly drawn the attention of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant and several House committees who are now investigating whether the groups abused nonprofit status to bankroll the riot.
Barely half of the votes have been counted in the LA mayoral primary, but Republican candidate Spencer Pratt is already challenging incumbent Democrat Mayor Karen Bass to a relentless debate schedule ahead of the November runoff.
I love debating her on NBC. I look forward to a couple more on NBC and Fox. We can do debates every Friday if she would like, because this actually became my most favorite thing to do. She knows it's on. She's— I hope she's ready, you know, because I am. I literally could not be more excited.
The race has not been formally called yet, but the former reality star holds a 7-point lead over Democratic Socialist Anithya Raman, who sits at 23%, while Karen Bass leads the field at 35%. A little more than 300,000 ballots remain to be counted, and it's expected to continue into next week.
Wow, that quick, huh? President Trump bashed House lawmakers as unpatriotic today after they passed a resolution to rein in his Iran war powers. Daily Wire homepage managing editor Jordan Schroeder has the story.
Four Republicans joined with House Democrats on Wednesday to adopt a resolution that directs the president to seek congressional approval or wind down the war in Iran. In a Truth Social post this morning, Trump called the House's rebuke a, quote, meaningless gesture right in the middle of my final negotiations to end the war. He said Democrats, as he calls Democrats, are, quote, fueled by Trump derangement syndrome, and the 4 GOP members who join them are, quote, grandstanders.
The DOJ is expanding their indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center following new discoveries. Daily Wire reporter Drew Berkmeier reports.
Last month, the Department of Justice announced an indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights nonprofit that supposedly fights extremism, for defrauding its donors, funneling money to the extremists, including the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazi, and violent biker clubs. A federal grand jury in Alabama returned an 11-count indictment covering wire fraud, making false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to conceal money laundering. But now the DOJ alleges it has uncovered a complex network of shell companies that were used to covertly mask the movement of funds to these organizations. Attorney Abbe Lowell, representing the SPLC, denied the allegations. He said, quote, "The SPLC did not lie to its donors. It did not mislead banks it did business with, and its informant programs prevented violence and saved lives." However, according to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanch, the SPLC was not, quote, "dismantling extremism, but funding it." SpaceX is heading for what could be the largest public stock market debut ever recorded.
Daily Wire reporter Brecca Stoll has more.
Elon Musk's premier rocket and AI company is aiming to IPO at $135 a share, a valuation of roughly $1.75 trillion. SpaceX plans to sell 555 million shares, which would raise more than $74 billion and break the record set by Saudi Aramco, a an oil company that IPO'd in 2019. Musk is allocating an outsized percentage of shares for retail investors. The typical IPO allocates 5 to 10%, but SpaceX is allocating 30%. One senior analyst told the New York Times that SpaceX's IPO nearly matches the total of all US IPOs from the past 2 years combined. Musk is expected to become the world's first trillionaire after shares begin trading. SpaceX's stock market debut comes as OpenAI and Anthropic also circle their own IPOs amid record-breaking stock market highs driven by the AI boom.
There's a reason so many Americans feel called to stand up for children right now, because in a culture that moves incredibly fast, kids deserve protection, guidance, and the chance to grow up without being pushed toward irreversible decisions before they're ready to fully understand the consequences. That's why organizations like Alliance Defending Freedom are stepping in. ADF is working to encourage major corporations to reconsider policies that provide coverage for so-called gender transition procedures for minors through employee healthcare plans. This conversation is bigger than politics. It's about whether our culture is willing to slow down, protect childhood, and support families navigating difficult decisions with care and wisdom. And the reality is, public pressure matters. When everyday Americans speak up together, companies listen. That's why Alliance Defending Freedom is inviting people across the country to make their voices heard by signing their petition to corporate America. If you believe children deserve compassion, protection, and thoughtful care, this is an opportunity to take action. Visit joinadf.com/wire to sign the petition today. Again, that's joinadf.com/wire.
Thick black plumes of smoke hung over St. Petersburg, Russia yesterday as Ukraine launched several drone attacks near Russia's second-largest city. Daily Wire reporter Zach Jewell has the details.
Ukrainian President Zelensky said that an oil export terminal and a naval base in the area were struck. The attack is the second within a month to take place at the same time and location as a major event important to Russian President Vladimir Putin. This time, the drone strike came on the opening day of an event known as Putin's Davos, an economic forum held in Saint Petersburg to attract foreign investment to Russia. The region's governor said the attack was composed of about 60 drones that struck 3 districts of Saint Petersburg. While some people were injured, no one was killed. The Kremlin said yesterday that its response to the attacks will be, quote, systemic in nature.
John Bolton, the former national security adviser to President Donald Trump, will reportedly plead guilty to mishandling classified documents. Bolton will allegedly plead guilty to one count of illegal retention of national security documents and pay a more than $2 million fine. He was originally charged with 8 counts of transmission of national defense information and 10 counts of retention of national defense information. A guilty verdict on just one count of illegal retention could have earned anywhere from 0 to 60 months in federal prison.
In what rescuers say is a miracle, a man who vanished on Mount Everest was found nearly a week later as he crawled back to the base camp. Daily Wire assistant editor Jacob Wheeler has the story.
52-year-old Dawa Sherpa disappeared around May 29th after he and his client turned back near the summit to return to base camp. It's not clear when or how the two were separated, but Dawa's client was able to make the trip down alone. It's also unclear why it took so long to launch a rescue operation to find the missing guide. Rescuers found him crawling through one of the most dangerous spots on Everest, known as Khumbu Icefall. Dawa was airlifted to a hospital, where he was reunited with his wife and daughter. Throughout the ordeal, members of his family had given up and considered him dead, some were in the middle of funeral rites for the guide when they were told he had been found alive. Dawa's family says he is being treated for frostbite and other complications, but is conscious and able to speak.
In a scene straight out of The Sopranos, New York cops have busted an Uzbek crime operation accused of stealing millions in cigarettes and luxury cheese. Daily Wire assistant editor Nathan Gay has more.
The wannabe gangsters may have blown their cover as police discovered social media posts of the men flaunting stacks of cash and other luxury goods. According to one cop, the thieves, quote, acted like they watched every mob movie ever made and emulated American gangsters. The Hollywood version. Beyond cigarettes and cheese, the men are accused of stealing millions in lamb, beef, and copper wire. Many of the stolen goods were meant to be delivered to Costco. The gangsters will now face justice in Manhattan.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant faced the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday, where he turned the tables and grilled top Democrat Ron Wyden on his son's ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Nobody is interested in the ramblings of a capo in the most corrupt regime in American history. We want to get some facts about this deal. That's what we're here for.
And we would like to hear what Adam Wyden and Jeffrey Epstein talked about. Your son's largest investment position was Rick's Cabaret. So did your son and Jeffrey Epstein talk about pole dancing as he begged him for money using your limited credibility?
Bessant's salvo went viral among many other feisty parts of the hearing. Bessant went to Capitol Hill to discuss the Treasury's 2027 budget.
And the bakery chain Crumbl, well known for its oversized cookies and my daughter's gobbling it up, is going viral for a new slate of soft drinks. Now, the one getting the most attention is called Crazy Cousins, which combines Red Bull, Mountain Dew, pineapple strawberry puree, and coconut cream. It packs in 840 calories and 186 grams of sugar. Oh my gosh. Well, Crumble thought this was going to be a slam dunk. Social media has just ripped it, saying the chain is promoting dangerously unhealthy menu options.
