The US blockade around the Strait of Hormuz has been lifted after President Trump signed the hard copy of the Iran deal. Daily Wire foreign affairs reporter Kassie Akiva has the latest.

The U.S. military is lifting its naval blockade of Iran and reopening maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz under the terms of the new U.S.-Iran agreements. The move comes as Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, publicly backed the deal while claiming President Trump sought the agreement, quote, "out of desperation." Vice President J.D. Vance says a new 60-day negotiation period with Iran officially begins today. And warned that military action remains an option if Tehran fails to change its behavior.

It's going to be a holistic approach where we look at their behavior. Are they funding terrorism? Are they leading to attacks of other people? Are they trying to get centrifuges to redevelop their nuclear weapons program? Do they allow the inspectors in as they have promised that they would do, or do they refuse to allow those inspectors in? A whole host of things we're going to see.

We're working towards a very successful resolution of this process, Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly told President Trump that Israel does not consider itself bound by the deal's requirement to permanently halt military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, as the deal lays out.

Former first son Hunter Biden has joined a, quote, ultra-luxury rehab clinic as its advisor and executive director.

In recent months, Biden has joined social media and appeared on high-profile podcasts to talk about his struggles with addiction. His latest career move comes as Biden faces millions of dollars in unpaid legal bills and other debts. He has talked openly about $17 million he owes to attorneys. He has claimed in legal filings that he is destitute and unable to pay what he owes to the law firm Winston Strawn. Which has sued him over unpaid bills.

Apple will be raising its prices soon across its product lines due to memory chip shortages. Daily Wire reporter Drew Berkmeier has the details.

CEO Tim Cook said yesterday that, quote, unfortunately, price increases are unavoidable. No timeline was given, but consumers can expect higher price tags on the new lineup of iPhone 18s in September. Skyrocketing demand from AI for computer components has pushed prices and bottlenecked manufacturers. Research from TechInsights show that for Apple to maintain their pre-AI margin on iPhones, they would have to raise the price around $270.

The DOJ is cracking down on SNAP benefits for illegal immigrants. Daily Wire immigration reporter Jenny Ter has more.

Federal authorities in Massachusetts charged 11 illegal immigrants today for a massive taxpayer-funded benefit fraud scheme that exceeded $1 million. Prosecutors alleged the suspects used stolen identities to collect taxpayer-funded benefits, including SNAP and MassHealth. Assistant Attorney General Colin MacDonald told The Daily Wire that the Massachusetts government under Democratic Governor Maura Healey has not been cooperative with federal efforts to review benefit records, raising questions about whether more fraud remains hidden.

We are asking and we have been asking for them to give us those records that we can see and we can just pressure test, just make sure that fraud is not happening. But they refuse to even give us those records. They're suing us in court. To keep us from getting the records that would show how the federal money that we are giving to them is being doled out in Massachusetts. And it begs the question of what are you trying to hide?

Feds fired warning shots at a boat packed with 25 Chinese illegal migrants last Wednesday, hoping to reach Florida. The migrants initially refused to listen to the federal authorities' orders to stop, forcing the Coast Guard to deploy warning shots, which were ineffective. The Coast Guardsmen then fired a, quote, disabling shot that stopped the boat without any reported injuries. The Chinese illegal immigrants were transported for further processing, and federal authorities seized the boat. The Department of Homeland Security said, quote, this sends a clear message to any illegal alien attempting to enter the United States: don't even think about it.

Automatic cuts to Social Security aren't expected to kick in until 2032, but in some meaningful ways, the retirement crisis is already here.

Payroll taxes fell short of covering Social Security's expenses 16 years ago. The program's funds were maintained on income from interest for about a decade, but that too fell behind Social Security's rising costs 5 years ago. Last year, the retiree and survivor fund of Social Security shrank by $200 billion. The upcoming class of senators to be elected in November could be the first lawmakers to deal with mandatory cuts to Social Security. Washington will face increasing pressure to find a political fix for the depleting fund before its recipients receive cuts of over 20% to their benefits.

The federal government has struck a deal to reimburse the energy company Invenergy to stop it from building wind farms in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The Interior Department announced the deal on Wednesday. The Trump administration will repay Invenergy $765 million.— the third such deal the administration has struck to roll back plans to expand U.S. wind energy. The Invenergy payment pushes the administration's total cost for stopping new wind farms to $2.5 billion. President Trump has often mocked wind power as inefficient, ugly, and environmentally destructive.

Dangerous flooding is sweeping across the South as Tropical Storm Arthur makes landfall. Assistant Editor Andy Valdez has more.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued a rare elevated warning for flash flooding. The storm has already dropped as much as 12 inches of rain on parts of the Deep South, from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle. In southern Louisiana, more than two dozen waterways have flooded, and a tornado damaged motorhomes, triggering a 12-car train derailment. In Texas, at least two people have died as a result of the storm, and nearly 40,000 people are without power as of this morning. The storm system is expected to keep rolling through Georgia and the Carolinas into Friday. With rainfalls of up to 20 inches in several regions.

Marriott is facing backlash over a loyalty program that dozens of its franchisees say is unfair. Daily Wire reporter Lauren Baer has more.

Dozens of hotel owners who represent nearly 1,000 Marriott-branded hotels signed a letter in March complaining about the profit split for Marriott's Bonvoy credit card and loyalty program. Which offers free rooms and other perks as customers spend on the cards. The franchisees' frustrations over the Bonvoy program came after Marriott said that it expects fee revenue from the cards to jump 35% this year. The franchisees claim the program is just breaking even, but since they are being forced to bear the cost of providing free rooms for loyalty points, hotel owners say they are being ripped off and deserve a bigger cut of the program's revenue. They are also asking for reforms to the program's reimbursement structure and more transparency about its finances.

35 children were located and returned to safety in Massachusetts this month in anticipation of the World Cup. Multiple law enforcement agencies collaborated to identify and secure children who were deemed high risk for sex trafficking. Some were found as far away as Texas and Georgia. Operation Yellow Card was timed to get the children to safety prior to the arrival of millions of foreign soccer fans,, which was identified as a high-risk window for human trafficking.

Police have saved over 400 cats from a gruesome fate in Vietnam. Daily Wire reporter Jacob Wheeler explains.

Vietnam's police force saved the cats from being killed in the region's underground meat trade. This makes it one of the biggest feline rescue operations in Vietnam's history. The animals are reportedly starved, traumatized, and stuffed into small cages. Many died from poor conditions even after their rescue. 9 people were arrested for potential involvement in the cat trafficking criminal organization. The animal rights group Humane World estimates that over 1 million cats are stolen from their owners or from the streets and slaughtered for their meat every year in Vietnam. Selling cat meat is legal in the country as long as people have a permit, but there is a rising tide calling on the government to end the cat trade altogether.

Gwyneth Paltrow says she's shocked by the backlash to her appearance in an Israeli advertisement. Paltrow, whose father is Jewish, was featured in a video commercial for a luxury apartment complex in Tel Aviv that aired only in Israel. Activists and even some members of the Hollywood community pounced on Paltrow, calling the ad, quote, completely unacceptable, complicit in genocide, and tone deaf. This comes on the heels of Paltrow admitting her politics are, quote, pretty centrist going so far as to say her husband, quote, thinks she's a Republican.

New reporting details the story behind the Trump administration shutting down Anthropic's powerful Fable-5 and Mythos AI models. Researchers at Amazon were able to use a series of prompts to bypass the safeguards on Fable-5 to obtain illegal information, prompting the CEO of Amazon to warn the White House and Anthropic of its vulnerability. Anthropic reportedly pushed back hard against the administration's request to patch the issue. Forcing the president to reluctantly sign off on cutting foreign access despite worries that the move could slow down American AI innovation. In response, Anthropic promptly pulled the Fable and Mythos models worldwide while also locking out foreign-born engineers. The decision caused some alarm among foreign leaders who met this week at the G7 summit. Other nations have expressed concern over integrating AI systems into their government or military that could be shut down outside of their control.
