As President Trump threatens Iran over its terror proxies, VP Pence begins turbulent peace talks in Switzerland.

00:00:37

Peace is never easy. Peace always requires a little bit of work. It always requires a little bit of give and take. But the president of the United States is committed not just to peace between the United States and Iran. The president is committed to a regional peace.

I'm Daily Wire executive editor John Bickley with Georgia Howell. It's Monday, June 22nd. This is Morning Wire.

00:01:05

With tensions simmering on the world stage, pro-America sentiment goes viral from a surprising source: foreign FIFA fans.

00:01:13

We owe America a huge apology because America is nothing like what the media tells us.

00:01:19

And on her final day as Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard dropped new evidence of Anthony Fauci's COVID cover-up.

00:01:26

Fauci worked with politicized career leadership in the intelligence community to suppress the truth about his actions, the virus's lab leak origins, and his role in directing US funding for this dangerous research that caused immeasurable harm and countless lost lives. Thanks for waking up with Morning Wire. Stay tuned, we have the news you need to know.

Vice President J.D. Vance traveled to Switzerland over the weekend to lead peace talks with Iran. The U.S. delegation arrived at a Swiss resort near near Lake Lucerne, intent on saving a peace process battered by terror attacks in Lebanon.

00:03:06

Daily Wire contributor Tim Pearce joins us to talk about the latest out of Switzerland and the violence that has erupted again between Hezbollah and Israel. Morning, Tim. So what happened on the first day of these peace talks?

00:03:19

The Iranian delegation actually walked out on the first round of talks because of threats President Trump made online Sunday. At least that's what Iranian state news claims. He posted, quote, Iran must immediately stop their highly paid proxies in Lebanon from causing trouble. If they don't, we'll hit Iran very hard again, just like we did last week, only harder. But even before that, the Iranian delegation appeared to pull out of a photo op with the American delegation at the last minute.

00:03:44

What were officials hoping to accomplish yesterday, and was there any progress at all?

00:03:49

Right, so Vice President Pence led the American team. He was joined by envoys Steve Whitkopf and Jared Kushner, but Vance is the clear leader here. Here's what the vice president said about U.S. goals just before the meeting.

00:04:00

What the president has asked us to do is turn over a new leaf to transform our relationship with the people of Iran and to extend an outstretched hand that says to the people of Iran that if your leadership is willing to give up being a driver of regional instability, if they are willing to give up nuclear weapons ambitions for the long term, then the United States is willing to fundamentally transform our relationship.

00:04:24

It doesn't appear that there was any headway made on those goals yesterday. The Iranian team is led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Khalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi. They were focused on Lebanon and the fighting there between Israel and Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed terror group. That fighting is why the summit started 2 days later than planned, and it's Iran's excuse to threaten an end to talks entirely. But it's clear listening to the Iranians that there's very little that the two sides agree on, despite the memorandum of understanding signed last week. Here was Iranian President Massoud Pahlavi in a speech that aired yesterday.

00:04:56

We will not give up our right to enrichment, and they too will be forced to accept it. You all know what the so-called president of the United States was saying. He has made a complete 180-degree turn.

00:05:08

Now, Trump heard that clip and he hit back. He told Fox that under the MOU, he has options and can do whatever I want. He said the US could take over the Strait of Hormuz and collect its own tolls, even collect 20% of the oil that passes through it. He said that if Iran wants to keep the strait closed, then quote, you won't have a country.

00:05:26

Okay, so some pretty drastic threats there from the president. Uh, now these negotiations have also caused a bit of a rift between Trump and Israel. What is the latest on that front?

00:05:37

Right, well, it's clear that there is a big split between Washington and Tehran on other issues. Trump has taken the Lebanon issue seriously, and he's leaned on Israel to de-escalate after Hezbollah broke a ceasefire and killed Israeli soldiers last week. He said yesterday that he's disappointed Israel can't put Hezbollah away, and he suggested that maybe the terror group should be handled instead by Syria. Now, Syria is led by President Ahmed al-Sharif, who was himself a terror leader affiliated with al-Qaeda and ISIS. Israeli President Isaac Herzog appeared on Fox News yesterday to defend his country.

00:06:09

Hezbollah has violated the ceasefire that was declared by President Trump a few weeks back. Over and over and over again, we have dozens of casualties. They fired on 50 sites in the last few days, and that's the issue.

00:06:24

Well, no doubt a difficult set of tensions to navigate here for Vance and his team.

00:06:28

Definitely.

00:06:29

Tim, thanks for coming on.

00:06:30

Thanks for having me.

00:06:33

As the FIFA World Cup continues across the US, European visitors are flooding social media with videos gushing over things many Americans take for granted. At the same time, some of America's political relationships with Europe are increasingly strained.

00:07:48

Daily Wire culture reporter Megan Basham is here now with the details. So Megan, as we touched on, tensions are high on the world stage, but something really delightful and unexpected that's come out of this World Cup is all those Europeans who are really falling in love with America. So let's start with that.

00:08:06

Yeah, it's been one of the most heartwarming side stories of the tournament, Georgia. We have European supporters from Germany, Scotland, Sweden, the Netherlands, really everywhere, flooding social media with their experiences in America, and they're genuinely shocked at how much they love it. So we're talking culture shock in the best possible way. If you take German fan Freddy, he's become a viral star, and he's now touring the South and posting about everything from massive convenience stores to late-night diner runs. And now locals are even putting up welcome banners for him. So Americans are embracing these visitors like family, and the Europeans are saying that they're grateful. In fact, in this video, English fans are jokingly singing that they don't want to go home.

00:08:52

Please don't take me home.

00:08:55

Don't take me home.

00:08:59

Now, a major common theme that I've seen in several of these videos is a fascination with Buc-ee's. So how did that become such a tourist destination?

00:09:08

Yeah, Buc-ee's is blowing European minds. Let's just put it that way. These fans are walking in, they can't believe their eyes. They're raving about the spotless bathrooms, the endless aisles of snacks, the brisket sandwiches, those famous beaver nuggets, and they're calling these things something that could only exist in America. This was Scottish Sean sharing his experience with his countrymen.

00:09:31

If you've never been to Buc-ee's before, you might be mystified as to what it actually is. If you take a gas station and mix it with Disney World, wrap all of that around a gift shop, then that's probably the best way I can describe what Buc-ee's is all about.

00:09:45

Same reaction at Texas Roadhouse. They're posting 10 out of 10 and talking about it like it's fine dining.

00:09:52

It is.

00:09:52

It is.

00:09:53

I'm in America with my son, so I'm like, let's go to Texas Roadhouse. It's unbelievable. Then they come out and they put this bread on the table and I'm like, I didn't order the bread. It's like, oh, that's free. It's as nice as bread can possibly be. You want a tip? These people are the most wonderful people in the world.

00:10:14

Waffle House at 1 AM has also gone mega viral. Bass Pro Shops too. Swedish influencers are begging Europe to import ranch dressing after they've tried it on everything. So basically they're discovering the free refills, our giant portions, our drive-thrus, our air conditioning everywhere. So essentially what a lot of them are saying is that they had heard a lot of negative things about the US from their media and their political leaders, and they're finding that those claims are not accurate at all.

00:10:45

I genuinely feel a lot of people's opinions on America will now change after this World Cup.

00:10:50

So they say America has been a revelation for them of just how much prosperity and freedom we enjoy.

00:10:57

Well, and it's been great to see that the good feelings are really going in both directions, it sounds like. Shifting gears a little bit, this is happening at the same moment that America is at the center of some major international tensions, especially over Iran. Does that make this story even more interesting?

00:11:13

You know, I think it does, Georgia. On the one hand, the debate surrounding Iran has exposed disagreements not only inside the U.S. but also among America's allies. Just last week, we saw this very public dispute between President Trump and Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni after that G7 summit. Trump afterward claimed that Meloni begged him for a selfie, and Meloni clapped back that Italians don't beg. So meanwhile in Britain, Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been facing intense political pressure, and over the weekend we finally started seeing reports that he has come to the conclusion that he must step down. President Trump posted a statement online yesterday confirming that news and giving his approval, saying that Starmer had failed badly on immigration and energy in particular. But for what it's worth, he did wish him well. But certainly an interesting juxtaposition against those viral European videos that are primarily celebrating America's red state culture.

00:12:17

Well, and a takeaway I've come to, and I think I've seen in other videos as well, is people are realizing regular people have a lot more in common than their leadership would lead them to believe. Megan, thanks so much for reporting.

00:12:27

My pleasure.

As her last act as Director of National Intelligence at the end of last week, Tulsi Gabbard released newly declassified documents that implicate Dr. Anthony Fauci and his team. Gabbard says the evidence shows health officials covered up the COVID lab origin theory and misled Congress about funding for gain-of-function research. While the allegations aren't new, many of the details in the documents have never been seen by the public before.

00:13:24

Joining us now is Dr. Robert Malone, who helped pioneer mRNA vaccines and became famous for his high-profile battles with the health officials during the pandemic. Dr. Malone, thanks for coming on.

00:13:34

Thanks a lot for having me today.

00:13:36

So you've had your own personal battles with legacy media outlets, as have we. Most of them have downplayed or outright ignored these new documents from Gabbard. So first, what are the major takeaways from this new information? Is there anything truly new here?

00:13:51

What Tulsi has provided on her way out the door is documentation in particular that Dr. Fauci has a separate example of lying to Congress in addition to the one having to do with misrepresentation of gain-of-function research. In this case, it involves Fauci's statement that he did not have direct communication with the intelligence community committees They were assessing the proximal origins of SARS-CoV-2. What's also here is extensive documentation having to do with many of the claims that, uh, CIA officer Jim Erdman had testified on the Hill about, uh, and that was received with considerable skepticism by some communities, including, uh, corporate media. But now we have the smoking guns, is what the big difference is. This isn't opinions, this isn't some, uh, secondhand or, or at a distance intelligence assessment. This is the actual documentation concerning the issues relating to the proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2. Where did this virus come from? And whether or not there was, uh, involvement of U.S. funding at a significant level that led to the origin of this particular pathogen. The other is that, that Tulsi has dropped is the documentation about retaliation against a government contractor whistleblower that appears to have been terminated consequent to that whistleblower action.

00:15:30

We also have documentation from this that Dr. Fauci hand-selected from his own— let's be gentle and call them colleagues. You might call them cronies. People to populate these committees so that it appears there was a, a strategy to bias the outcome.

00:15:55

Yeah.

00:15:56

So, look, we're about a month past the statute of limitations on Fauci being charged criminally for anything. And he's been, you know, famously pre-pardoned by Joe Biden. The DOJ is still exploring ways he could be held accountable. Do you see any chance of Fauci and other officials being held to account here?

00:16:13

Well, come on, this is D.C. and the probability of that is approximating zero. The only strategy that I've heard of that has any possibility of prevailing here is civil lawsuits rather than criminal cases.

00:16:31

Final question. What do you make of the general media blackout of this story? And are you still getting accused of being a conspiracy theorist?

00:16:38

I don't get conspiracy theory thrown at me. Time has, uh, been kind to me on that front. The media has no particular interest in, uh, doing anything other than forgetting about COVID The corporate media has, uh, is, is complicit in many ways in the events that took place, and it profited enormously from that, uh, from those activities. And at this point, it has, you know, why would expect major corporate media to have any interest in revisiting this story. They would much rather that it just kind of went away.

00:17:18

Yeah, it's a big embarrassment, particularly for their fact-checking entities and all those things that they tried to prop up for all those years and use against the radical ultra-left media.

00:17:29

That industry is not prospering these days.

00:17:34

COVID ended it. It really did destroy it. Dr.

00:17:37

Malone, thank you so much for joining us Thanks a lot for having me today.
