Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.

00:00:23

Welcome in. Monday, September 28th, the Fantasy Footballers Podcast. Mike Wright, Jason Moore, Andy Holloway. I hate injuries. There are so many injuries.

00:00:49

There are many.

00:00:50

And I even hate them. I hate them extra. I extra hate them when they happen at the top of a game and not the bottom.

00:00:57

Yeah.

00:00:58

You know what I mean?

00:00:58

Yeah. If you're going to get injured, at least respectfully Respectfully, even if it happens early, score a touchdown first. Score a touchdown, then pull your hammy. You know, that's just the respectful way to do it.

00:01:09

I mean, Achane, beginning of the game. Terrence Ferguson, beginning of the game.

00:01:13

Dude, he was going to be so good.

00:01:15

Right after I tweeted.

00:01:16

Oh, you and me both.

00:01:17

Yeah, it's all you both.

00:01:18

I literally have him everywhere except our dynasty leagues.

00:01:21

But Jason, why didn't you recommend Tyler Higbee?

00:01:25

Oh.

00:01:25

We have news happening.

00:01:27

Dude, don't hit the button.

00:01:28

Hit the button.

00:01:30

Breaking news. The Giants are trading for a quarterback.

00:01:34

Okay.

00:01:35

Well, this is—

00:01:36

is this a big boy quarterback from Minnesota?

00:01:38

JJ McCarthy.

00:01:39

McCarthy.

00:01:40

JJ McCarthy.

00:01:42

Did you see?

00:01:43

What? They just paid Jameis.

00:01:46

Well, yeah, but then they watched him. Fair. Did you see? So did you see this thing yesterday? Joe, is it Schmo?

00:01:55

Yes. Yes. Yes.

00:01:55

Schmo.

00:01:56

We call him Schmo.

00:01:57

Their GM.

00:01:57

So did you see this thing where he tweeted? Did you see this, Mike?

00:02:01

No, I didn't.

00:02:02

He tweeted what looked to be a private list. Joe Schone. How do you pronounce his last name?

00:02:07

I don't know how to say his name. I feel like that's something you should know. I like Joe Schmo. Joe Schmo for sure.

00:02:12

So he tweeted a private list.

00:02:15

I assumed it was fake when I saw that post.

00:02:17

I was like, here's the quarterbacks that they were looking at.

00:02:19

He said James Winston current. JJ McCarthy need. Then it was a bunch of other names. Richardson, Flacco, Rush, Scadaboo. Why is Scadaboo on there?

00:02:27

I know. That was the— that was why I thought it was fake.

00:02:29

Derek Carr. And then Drew Brees said no. Russell Wilson last resort.

00:02:32

You sure this isn't fake? I think that was fake. Regardless.

00:02:37

But the guy that they said need on the fake list is the guy they traded for.

00:02:40

2027 5th rounder is all it took.

00:02:42

Yeah. It's just, yeah, that is—

00:02:45

wow.

00:02:46

It's bad news for Dart.

00:02:47

That's where my brain immediately goes.

00:02:49

Why is it bad news for Dart?

00:02:51

Well, you just traded for a question.

00:02:53

It's not a question.

00:02:54

No, no, no, no, no, no. Dart is bad. I'm saying how, like, how bad is his knee?

00:02:59

Well, he's out for the year, Mike.

00:03:01

Yes. No, I know that.

00:03:02

They want a chance to win this year. They're 2-1, right?

00:03:05

It's surprising.

00:03:06

This just makes sense. Winston is not the solution.

00:03:09

But to go to a developmental quarterback.

00:03:11

Exactly.

00:03:12

If you're like, if you're saying we're trying to win right now, we're going to go get a guy who got nothing.

00:03:17

They traded a 5th round pick for a chance to win this year. This is just, this is like, hey, we want some upside. We don't want to go out there and get like a garbage backup nothing burger quarterback to come in. and be the same as Winston. We want some chance at going to the playoffs.

00:03:32

I'm surprised Wilder's not on that list.

00:03:33

And it's hardball. I mean, this is a guy that played with his brother. So this is a bit of a— this one makes perfect sense to me.

00:03:41

Yeah, it does. I don't think it's a dumb thing to do. It is surprising because the fact that you have a young future, you know, you just drafted him. He is the future of the franchise in Jaxson Dart. Trading for a young prospect who was also supposed to be the future of a franchise, a recent, you know, first round draft pick is just surprising. I think it's smart. I think it's smart to go get someone that gives you a chance and it will probably fail. We've seen McCarthy fail enough to know like, yeah, it's probably not going to be good enough. Jameis has looked terrible.

00:04:15

He'll be better than Jameis and he'll execute a lot better.

00:04:18

I think I would have rather gone and got Anthony Richardson. And just tried to like create a running game.

00:04:22

Yeah, not me. No, this is the best player you could have acquired in terms of— this is a 3rd stringer now on Minnesota.

00:04:30

Yes.

00:04:30

You know what I mean? Like this was not— this is a guy that's left for dead, which made him available. And now you're 2-1.

00:04:38

We're actually not talking about the biggest impact of this, how good the Vikings are going to be. Their locker room is now freed. And so I think this is a real good morale boost for the Vikings.

00:04:52

All right. And from—

00:04:53

because their quarterback looked awesome on Sunday.

00:04:56

Oh gosh. Terrible. Terrible.

00:04:58

Kyler Murray. The prior Sunday he did.

00:05:01

Yes.

00:05:02

It's funny because when the game starts, it's like, why do they refuse to just use Wentz, who's good?

00:05:07

Yeah. I mean, it is a wild trade. No question about it. I don't connect it to Jackson Dart in any way, but I, I think it's interesting. I will say that like that list was apparently very fake.

00:05:16

Yeah.

00:05:17

It was apparently very accurate. The fake list from Joe Schoen.

00:05:20

Sometimes you tell a joke and it becomes the truth.

00:05:22

And the joke ends up being right. And I mean, look, here's what you didn't want to come in on Monday and talk about. That Malik Nabers has no future this year for your fantasy team.

00:05:33

Oh, true.

00:05:34

That you don't have Isaiah Likely, who seemed like a great draft pick, having any relevance.

00:05:37

Isaiah Likely, who is... Number 9.

00:05:42

Yeah.

00:05:42

Yeah.

00:05:42

Which means JJ McCarthy is super good. He needs to get rid of his alter identity of—

00:05:48

I hope it's not like 37.

00:05:50

He has to pick the just most disgusting number, the most aesthetically unpleasing number you can find. JJ McCarthy.

00:05:57

I will say that I don't think JJ McCarthy will start this week.

00:06:00

I know.

00:06:00

Oh no. I think there'll be some time to acclimate, but I guarantee you this was a little bit of the hardball. Hey, this guy can run.

00:06:05

Oh, Brooksie, double zeros. That's what we're talking about.

00:06:09

I don't think it's allowed, but that would be awesome.

00:06:11

I have a friend who wore double zeros for a basketball team. Everyone called him Boobs.

00:06:16

Makes sense.

00:06:17

He didn't like that at all. No, he was— he did not like that nickname.

00:06:20

Players are not allowed.

00:06:22

All right. There you go. Some breaking news to start the show. And I was complaining about injuries and there's—

00:06:26

wow, man.

00:06:27

You know who—

00:06:28

that's wild. Is there— is that a slight resurrection in dynasty for JJ McCarthy or not really?

00:06:33

Well, for sure. I mean, it's better than this year. Yeah. As of now, he has a chance to start NFL games versus he didn't. So yeah, of course that's an uptick for— I did not assume that he was going to be traded for or traded away for that matter. But I think it's— it makes sense for both parties. Hopefully he can figure it out. I know Mike and I believed he was better than he showed in the NFL. Obviously this was a guy who didn't start enough college games. You see like Tyler Shuck after you know, 20 years in college coming to the NFL and it's like, which happy birthday.

00:07:06

Oh yeah. To Tyler Shuck.

00:07:07

Oh, is he 42 now?

00:07:08

Yes, he is.

00:07:11

Wasn't he, didn't McCarthy pay a ton? I mean, I see 28 starts in college.

00:07:15

Is that a ton?

00:07:16

Yeah. I guess it starts as almost all of them.

00:07:19

Yeah. 28 still needed more.

00:07:21

Look, I think that McCarthy, once they made the decision, it was over in Minnesota. It was not going to happen.

00:07:29

Yes.

00:07:29

Once Carson Wentz is the second guy, this was a, I mean, a 5th round pick. You might as well just no sunk cost fallacy here. Let's get rid of this guy. That way Kyler Murray can just run away with the job. The 3-0 Vikings, that is.

00:07:44

I think that the—

00:07:45

He was so good.

00:07:46

I think the playoff Vikings are going to be a force to be reckoned with with Carson Wentz. I think when, when the, when the playoffs come around and Carson Wentz is leading this team.

00:07:57

Carson Wentz is not that good either.

00:07:58

No, he's not.

00:07:59

That defense is so good.

00:08:01

You just need somebody to not turn the ball over and both those guys turn the ball over. That's the wild thing. Well, look, we got so much to talk about.

00:08:09

That's a hot start.

00:08:09

We've got all the Monday Punday. We got to get into your reactions. And my goodness, it was hard to find somebody say something nice about somebody this week.

00:08:20

It was difficult.

00:08:21

The tight ends had a week.

00:08:23

Yes, they did.

00:08:23

The tight ends had a week.

00:08:25

You see, it was, it was the most touchdowns for the tight end position like ever.

00:08:29

I did not know that, but that adds up to the submissions you guys sent in.

00:08:33

Kyle, help me try and confirm that, but I saw a tweet about it.

00:08:36

I'm not surprised. I mean, you had, you had tons of guys like in the Seattle game. I don't even know who that dude was, Saubert or whatever.

00:08:42

So we, we call him Sorbet.

00:08:43

Sorbet went into the end zone.

00:08:45

And the Higbee. The touchdowns for, for Shuck, those were tight end touchdowns.

00:08:50

Yeah. And they were, they were mighty fine. I saw some poor souls that dropped Juwan Johnson in order to pick up Terrence Ferguson for the long-term value.

00:08:59

I would have done that.

00:09:00

I would have done it too.

00:09:03

I love Juwan Johnson. I can't imagine dropping him. I absolutely would have dropped him for Terrence Ferguson, which would have worked out based on Tyler Higbee.

00:09:12

Raiders-Saints had 6 touchdowns by tight ends because Mayer scored in that game. Bowers scored in that game. It's the most tight end touchdowns in a single game in NFL history.

00:09:19

It's a tweet from Josh DuBois from the AP. It looks like there were 20 tight end or 20 touchdown catches by tight ends today. Most in a day in NFL history.

00:09:29

That's most of our positive on the Monday Punday. Here were your submissions and reactions to the weekend in the most sophisticated way possible. Starting with, of course, a tight end, Brock Powers.

00:09:42

You had Mighty Higgins.

00:09:44

Oh, okay. Juwin Johnson.

00:09:48

My favorite new addition, the Grand Kinyon.

00:09:51

Yeah.

00:09:52

Yes.

00:09:53

He was great.

00:09:54

Or Win-Yon Sadiq.

00:09:55

Yeah.

00:09:56

You had Tyler Higbee.

00:09:58

Oh, classic.

00:09:59

Yeah.

00:09:59

A refined classic. Harold Manning Jr.

00:10:03

Do we like Glock Purdy or Brock Tutty?

00:10:06

They're both good and he is great. No weapons left. Jamiracle Gibbs. Yes.

00:10:12

What about driving in your kiddo red Corvette? Kiddo red Corvette.

00:10:18

Oh no, it's Drake. May I drop you?

00:10:23

Omari Yawn Hampton.

00:10:25

Starving Harrison.

00:10:26

I also thought Omari and Hamper was very funny. I like that one a lot. Did you say Starving Harrison? What about Michael Sitman Jr.?

00:10:34

Yeah.

00:10:35

Aaron Rodgers hates him. Or Orande Badson.

00:10:39

Oh, David Mont— Bummer.

00:10:42

Ree. Bummer Ree.

00:10:43

Yes, thank you. Finished it. Bad McConkey.

00:10:45

Oh, Tedderutro.

00:10:47

Yes.

00:10:48

Millen.

00:10:48

Oh, that one's good.

00:10:49

Tyler Crapped.

00:10:52

How about Emeka Egboooka? Or if Gronk was saying it, Emeka Egbigpoo.

00:11:01

And we'll finish it out here with another rookie, Jaderian Yikes or Jaderian Overpriced. Oh boy.

00:11:09

There was a lot of, a lot of Jaderian puns submitted.

00:11:14

Yeah. About his fumbling?

00:11:17

No, none about the fumbling. More just about like production.

00:11:20

Yeah.

00:11:20

This is not— I mean, that team, you know, I'm going to lose it, by the way, in the Great League of Records super team. I'm going to lose. And a lot of it comes down to this Seattle DSTPP, whatever you want to call it.

00:11:37

It was—

00:11:38

Seattle was atrocious. Drew Lock looked a lot better than Sam Darnold did, made some mistakes and the defense getting cooked. This was the lowest implied point total for a team, Washington, going into the week and they scored what, 30-something points?

00:11:54

I put that one more on the defense.

00:11:55

Yeah. I mean, it was shocking.

00:11:57

Like what was the final score? Seattle had plenty of points.

00:12:02

Yeah. Yeah, they did.

00:12:03

What did, wasn't Washington in the 30s?

00:12:06

Oh yes. They lost.

00:12:07

But I'm saying Seattle was in the 30s.

00:12:09

Let's, oh, come on. Where's the score? 33 to 31.

00:12:12

Yeah.

00:12:12

If you put up 31, I'm not blaming the offense.

00:12:16

No. And you know who, so Seattle defending champs loses to Washington on the road, right?

00:12:21

Amazing. A backup.

00:12:23

So what do you think? So they're on the road now. They're coming home, right? You think they're going to have a chip on their shoulder after losing on the road and giving up 30 points as a defense and the 12th man? Guess who they play next week at home?

00:12:34

Please tell me.

00:12:36

The Chargers. Oh, the Chargers get to go into Seattle after a loss. After a loss. Thank you for your submissions on Instagram @FantasyFootballers, on X @TheFFBallers. We'll talk more news.

00:12:52

News and notes from around the league.

00:12:57

I apologize. I think I have a little too much adrenaline running through my system due to escaping the toilet trophy by 5 seconds before the show began.

00:13:05

It was very—

00:13:06

we were literally doing a countdown from 5 because we were ready to start and you were still in the bathroom.

00:13:12

And then you blockaded the door.

00:13:14

What's the—

00:13:14

well, now we—

00:13:15

yeah, the Falcon did, which was a pro move. Good job. Overcame the garbage can blockade.

00:13:21

5 seconds.

00:13:22

Got here with about 3 seconds to spare.

00:13:24

All right. Case Keenum expected to start tonight for the Bears. Tyson Bagent did clear the protocol but didn't practice much. So they're going to go with the guy that practiced more, Case Keenum against Seattle.

00:13:35

All right.

00:13:35

We'll see if Ben Johnson can—

00:13:37

against Philadelphia.

00:13:38

What did I say?

00:13:39

Seattle.

00:13:39

Oh, I'm sorry.

00:13:40

You got Seahawks on the mind.

00:13:41

I got, yeah, the birds. Puka Nacua.

00:13:45

Also on that injury, we got news that Caleb Williams is a grade 2 hamstring. It was Originally reported there was a grade 1. So give him a little bit more respect for his, for his pain. But that's usually like a 4 to 6 week injury if you're a skill position player. They're saying they expect him to miss 3 or 4 weeks because obviously he's a pocket passer. But that does mean I doubt he is scrambling as much when he first comes back.

00:14:13

All right. Let's talk about the Puka Nacua situation. He did not play again. They said he could return in week 4, but he's dealing with an injury that's impacting his explosiveness. And the— I mean, the Schefte tweet, the organization does not believe surgery in this situation will be needed, but it's not off the table if Nacua does not show signs of improvement.

00:14:36

Weeks ago, Andy was saying he was afraid of sports hernia. Then after that, McVay comes out and says, It's, he definitively said it is not a hernia. Then after that, it is, it's being reported as a hip injury and a groin injury. And it goes back and forth. It's his hip. It's his groin. It's his hip. It's his groin, which sounds—

00:14:56

It's in between there.

00:14:56

Exactly like a sports hernia.

00:14:59

It looks like a core muscle injury that if he doesn't get his explosiveness back, here's the problem with those injuries. And this is red alert. And maybe he's back next week. But is he the same Puka next week? You know what I mean? Is he as explosive? Also, the longer you wait to rehab this, obviously the longer it will take to recover from a surgery if you need one. A sports core injury surgery is going to take some time to recover from and you're losing weeks. That's my biggest concern about the season.

00:15:30

Sure.

00:15:30

So, you know, it was a, it was a loss last night. It was a crazy game. It seemed like there was no chance for Denver to score. Then they managed to figure out how to do it. And they lose another game. I mean, they're 1-2.

00:15:46

I can't believe they won.

00:15:48

I know.

00:15:48

Watching that game, it felt like the Rams were in complete control even until the very end when they were not, when they were losing. You're like, hey, you know, the Rams, they're fine. They got this. Right?

00:16:00

100%. I mean, it really, it really seemed like they were in control of that game. Some of that is, you know, when you're on the road, it makes a difference that, that kind of the, the vibe of the stadium behind you at the end of the game. It's so funny. I was, I was watching that game and I was like, the Denver Broncos don't have a great offense, but what they do have genuinely is a, they believe that they are a, a great team. They believe that they're going to win every game. They go, you know what I mean? Like if they're in a game at the end, they, they have that winner's mentality that carries over to games. Even though you watch for a lot of this game, it was like, man, their offense just didn't look good. And they, they, they figure it out in the end.

00:16:46

So the biggest news, De'Von Achane out for the year with a torn ACL.

00:16:50

It's a big one.

00:16:51

Now we I actually think there's going to be some nuance and thought here as we get into waivers tomorrow because the initial knee-jerk reaction that I had because, you know, Ollie Gordon took over and played the rest of the game.

00:17:05

Looked good.

00:17:05

Looked— I think Ollie Gordon's a good player. I've thought that for a while ever since he's— I mean, every snap he's gotten, I feel like he has something better than the Jaylen Wright. But Jaylen Wright wasn't— Jaylen Wright's ahead of him in the depth chart technically. And did not play in this game. He was out with a foot injury. So I'm not saying you don't dump a lot onto Ollie Gordon versus Jaylen Wright. I'm just saying there's a chance and probably a likelihood that there's a committee situation in some proportion here.

00:17:31

Yeah.

00:17:32

They like Jaylen Wright. And, you know, if you just think this guy's going to take over with the kind of market, you know, target market share, running back share in this offense, I'm, you know, as Achane, I don't think that's happening.

00:17:44

No, of course not. Achane over his 2 healthy games was getting 81% of the snaps. That, that's an outrageous number for running backs. They don't play 81% of snaps. During that time, he was averaging less than 10 fantasy points per game. So now you split that up on a bad offense between Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright. Is it going to be the number one pickup? Maybe if you're a running back needy team, is it going to be a rest of season great fantasy asset? No.

00:18:14

Yeah, that one's a tough one. I think there were some teams this week that kind of put up a little bit of a fight. Miami was one of them. I mean, they looked okay in stretches of this game, kept the game close, but huge bummer. We lose another player for the entire season. Baker Mayfield dislocated his thumb and was screaming on the field.

00:18:33

Yeah. Also just on such a dumb play.

00:18:37

Yeah. They didn't need to try to pick up a 3rd and 19 with 3 timeouts and a chance to just let their defense go out and get them the ball back. They're expecting the last report, 2 to 4 weeks with the thumb. MRI today, more injuries. I mean, the quarterback injuries have been wild this year.

00:18:59

Yeah.

00:18:59

And they have such ramifications for everybody in those offenses, right? With Jayden and Dart and these guys going down, you know, whether it's Bucky Irving or Ibuka's chance to surge back to relevance or whatever the case may be. Just sucks.

00:19:13

Agreed.

00:19:14

Breece Hall left in the second half with a thigh injury, did not return.

00:19:18

No, the quote was also not great. He said, quote, I felt something when I was running and then I got tackled and planted and then felt something else. So we'll see.

00:19:26

Felt 2 things.

00:19:28

Hmm.

00:19:29

Hmm. Not great.

00:19:31

I didn't realize it was that bad.

00:19:32

Who's got him in dynasty?

00:19:34

Breece Hall?

00:19:35

Yeah. I bet it's you.

00:19:36

I only say that because let's talk about this next player.

00:19:38

Travis Achane Jr.

00:19:39

Oh, who's got him? 2 of my 3 running backs gone.

00:19:42

Exiting with a hamstring strain. Yeah, it's been like survival right now in a lot of leagues.

00:19:48

The issue with Achane Jr.'s hamstring strain is that he was on the injury report this week with a hamstring injury. So whenever you re-aggravate it, you're usually going to miss some time.

00:19:58

And the, the running game of the Saints against the Raiders actually looked okay. Like Achane finished 13 for 57 and caught both and caught his 2 targets. I mean, it was, it was, we were on path to a much better game for him. So this is a bummer.

00:20:16

Yeah.

00:20:17

Yeah.

00:20:18

Yeah.

00:20:18

I mean, my goodness. All right, Mike, what's next on the docket?

00:20:23

So we got good news. So no, we got to keep going through the bad news first. Rashad White, he injured his shoulder. He did not return to the game. He was seen with an ice pack on his shoulder. And the Washington Commanders, they're—

00:20:37

Awesome.

00:20:38

Excellent. Their first thing they did was they signed Austin Ekeler, which that's fun. Shout out to that. We love Ekeler.

00:20:44

Yeah.

00:20:44

Great friend of fantasy football. Great player in his time. Doesn't seem like good news for Rashad White if they immediately put a guy who would take over that job on the team.

00:20:57

So many more injuries to talk about. Jack Best fractured his forearm. So that'll be a long time. And then Justin Jefferson, this one, this one is a problem because every medical person I saw break this injury down because he did not return. They're all correlating it to the same injuries we saw with AJ Brown, you know, high ankle sprain.

00:21:20

Yeah. High ankle sprains last year were all 1 to 3 week injuries. This year they are surgery. They are 6 to 8 week injuries. Apparently Ankles are getting softer or something.

00:21:31

Is that an official report?

00:21:31

That's an official report.

00:21:32

Or more of a speculative? No, we don't. I mean, they have a week 6 bye. It looks like a high ankle. We'll see what the final report is. Mike Evans got carted off with a rib injury.

00:21:42

He got smooshed.

00:21:45

Yeah.

00:21:45

I just, I just feel like it's always something.

00:21:50

Yeah.

00:21:50

It is. And what's crazy is usually it's his soft tissue. This was all of his organs.

00:21:55

Yeah. I mean, he, this was, he got absolutely crushed. Organs are soft.

00:21:59

That's, that's true. Well, the ribs, I always say organs, the ribs that protect the organs, they turn soft. And I mean, he got just smacked in the ribs.

00:22:10

So other than Pierce, DeMarcus Robinson, Christian Kirk, you know, Mike Evans, they've got everybody in the receiving game.

00:22:17

It is tough. Like Brock Purdy's been amazing.

00:22:19

Their leading receiver didn't have a catch.

00:22:22

Did you know this, Jason?

00:22:23

No.

00:22:24

Yeah. Yeah. Deebo Samuel led the team in receiving.

00:22:27

Oh yeah.

00:22:28

80 receiving yards.

00:22:29

Zero catches because of the hook and ladder.

00:22:32

Yeah.

00:22:32

Yeah.

00:22:34

I mean, that's ridiculous.

00:22:35

That's wild. Jalen Coker quad injury didn't return. You don't like that with a wide receiver. And apparently Tedderow McMillan is not him.

00:22:43

Dude, Jalen Coker, I believe the— I saw it was one target after Jalen Coker left and there was Plenty of time and they had a game script that they needed to throw and they were not, Bryce was not throwing it to McMillan.

00:22:57

Bryce Young has looked very, very, very good when Jalen Coker has been available.

00:23:03

For your first round wide receiver, offensive rookie of the year, a 12% target share when you're having to throw is—

00:23:11

Oh, it was Darren Waller in the flats. It was, I mean, I mean, the pass rushing. Mason Graham and company, like the pressures. I think there were like 5 players in Cleveland that had 3+ pressures each. That was a big component to not being able to get it downfield, but it's feeling a little bit like the Coker, Coker, Mike Wilson comp and the Ted McMillan, Marvin Harrison comp.

00:23:32

I don't agree with that because Teteroa— That's a little extreme. Marvin, Marvin is bad. Teteroa is good. He is a good player. I mean, like, like Mike just said, he was the offensive rookie of the year last year. He had over 1,000 yards as, as a rookie. That was a bad game. All wide receivers have down games. He should have been targeted more. We're surprised he's not. That's not prescriptive going forward. I mean, this is a player who as a rookie was targeted 122 times. So next week versus Detroit, who's got a very banged up secondary, I would be happy to start Ted.

00:24:03

Yeah, I, I—

00:24:05

94% of the routes and 5 targets for McMillan.

00:24:08

You know what you said is true. Ty McMillan is good. Is he great? Can he get to great? Can he get to great? I don't know. Jaylen McMillan aggravated his knee injury. Terrence Ferguson on almost the first play of the game, ankle injury, then came back in, then hurt it again.

00:24:23

Came back like a dog, got that first down he needed despite jumping on one leg. And then he's like, I can't.

00:24:31

That's crazy, man. There's— add depth if you can. Because you're going to need it. We haven't even gotten into bye weeks.

00:24:39

Nope.

00:24:40

These are bye weeks made by players. Also, I can't talk about anybody else that I like because it is not going well.

00:24:47

You're killing guys.

00:24:48

I mean, I liked Achane a lot, guys. I liked Achane a lot and all 4 of my other dudes are hurt and Ladd McConkey is clearly not himself. If you watch him walk on and off the field, he's like struggling. Man, that team is in so much trouble. Oh, I mean, you said it 2 weeks ago. The Chargers are in shock. 5 turnovers and you can't win?

00:25:10

The Chargers, you know, you say like, oh, they're going to charge her. Like, that's a thing. And I've heard people that get really upset with that. Like, that's not, that's not fair to them. That's not a real thing. Here's a tweet from Evan Abrams. Since 2013, teams with 5+ turnovers and a -4 turnover margin are 3-81-1 straight up. The 3 wins were the Bills over the Chargers.

00:25:38

Oh, I'm afraid of these next 2.

00:25:40

The Jaguars over the Chargers.

00:25:41

Okay.

00:25:42

And the Broncos over the Chargers.

00:25:43

The Chargers are the only team you can beat if you have 5 turnovers.

00:25:46

I mean, dude, what? Is it— are they cursed? Or I don't know, man.

00:25:54

Well, now you have a discussion to have. have around a guy we'll talk about in the duds because the snap share for Amariyan Hampton was not good.

00:26:03

Nope.

00:26:03

Let's take a break, catch our breath.

00:26:06

But there was some good. There was some good. We'll talk about him. Yeah.

00:26:09

That's what we're doing next. All right. Let's, let's bring some positivity to the show.

00:26:23

This week's fantasy stud muffins. Start of the week, bro.

00:26:28

Brock Purdy, number 1 scorer at the quarterback position this week. Hyper efficient.

00:26:33

He's very good.

00:26:34

Snap share percentage for Mr. George Kittle has risen immensely. One of the bigger stories of the week. He may be back. 297 and 4 for Brock Purdy. It doesn't matter if all his receivers are gone. He is just Slicing and dicing. Sam Darnold managed to bring— I mean, look at this list. Sam Darnold, Geno Smith, Jacoby Brissett, Bo Nix. You didn't hear me say Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert. You know, none of the guys that you thought were the guarantees this week. It was Darnold, Geno, Brissett, and Bo Nix from the grave at halftime.

00:27:18

But there was a name right under Bo Nix.

00:27:20

And Tyler Shuck.

00:27:21

Yeah, baby.

00:27:22

Who won that game, Mike? In our battle, in our battle of the adopted teams.

00:27:28

Yeah.

00:27:29

I think you want to hear my prediction now.

00:27:32

Sure.

00:27:33

No, Raiders win.

00:27:33

The Raiders beat the Chiefs next week.

00:27:35

Okay. Wow. All right. All right.

00:27:37

Oh, I've always been a lifelong Raiders fan for these last 3 weeks.

00:27:41

That was, it was an awesome game.

00:27:43

That was a fun game. I mean, I did not know who was going to win at any point.

00:27:46

I think what it proved proved was that the Chiefs are not a good team. was that both of these teams are legit. Yeah. Like I just watched 2 good teams playing and we're 3 weeks in now.

00:27:54

And I think Cousins has 3 touchdowns in 3 straight games.

00:27:57

Kirk Cousins has been playing fantastic.

00:28:00

I almost forget that they have the number 1 overall pick right now.

00:28:03

Yeah.

00:28:03

But Tyler Shook.

00:28:05

Yeah. 4 more touchdowns.

00:28:06

He is QB3 right now.

00:28:09

He is him. QB3 right now.

00:28:11

Yeah.

00:28:12

This is a week where we were putting We're putting to the test Bryce Young and Tyler Shuck. And one of them passed the test. And the guy who passed the test was also everything I said about the defensive front of the Raiders held true. And he still produced.

00:28:28

He was under pressure.

00:28:28

That's what's impressive. And by the way, it doesn't seem like anybody can cover Chris Olave ever.

00:28:35

He is always— Because he's awesome. He's always awesome. He always has been. This is just— Like they, they finally have someone in the team who can get him the ball appropriately. Like the story of Chris Olave was, was so, it was on its way of just a wasted career, lost to injuries because Derek Carr and company keep giving him freaking hospital balls. But the fact that we're seeing what he's doing now and he's, he is elite. Like he is an elite wide receiver and he's elite fantasy football option.

00:29:06

And Juwan's now elite and Except for Tyson's elite and Bailey's elite and everyone's elite that Chuck is throwing to.

00:29:13

It's going to be, it's going to be great. What's funny is the game. When we're watching football, we're usually watching 9 screens at once and trying to, you know, take everything in. We're watching it together. When an elite, when one of the greats, when Justin Jefferson or Ja'Marr Chase has some crazy sideline ball, you just know you're like, we just give them the benefit of the doubt. Of course he got the feet down.

00:29:36

Yeah, when Larry catches the ball, yeah, he's got the feet down.

00:29:38

You go, oh, there's no chance he got the feet down. With those guys, you just go, no, he got the feet down.

00:29:41

He probably did.

00:29:42

You know he did. He's perfect. He's one of those— that's Chris Olave right now. Like he had one of those sideline balls where it's like, no way he got that. No way he got his feet in. And it's like, no, of course he did. He's Chris Olave.

00:29:51

Yeah. I mean, the Saints are 1-2, but both of their losses went down to the wire pretty much. Aaron Rodgers, 290 and 3 for the first time since week 14.

00:30:02

Crazy.

00:30:03

That's a down 2, bros.

00:30:05

Of 2021.

00:30:05

Oh no, he's bombing it out.

00:30:07

Yeah. I mean, this was, this was a good, I mean, that was one of the almost upset, both of those games.

00:30:11

Yeah. You did get, you got both almost upsets, right?

00:30:14

Yeah. The Steelers and the Raiders.

00:30:17

Where did the production go to?

00:30:19

Does that make you 3 for 4 so far?

00:30:21

3 for 4.

00:30:21

Yeah. That's pretty good.

00:30:22

75% is pretty good with crazy upsets.

00:30:26

But Rodgers, yeah, he got it done.

00:30:28

I mean, it was very spread around.

00:30:31

Warren was good in the passing game. Metcalf had a touchdown. Roman Wilson had points. You got Friermuth, Darnell Washington.

00:30:39

No, Muth sucked, man.

00:30:41

Oh yeah. He hurt you on your prize picks.

00:30:43

Yeah. He caught 2 passes on like on the matchup against the Bengals.

00:30:47

Here's some names that you do recognize. Top 5 scorers at running back. Gibbs, Bijan, Henry, Walker, CMC.

00:30:54

I mean, just like that is, that feels automatic.

00:30:58

So the ones I actually want to talk about. Jeremiah Love and Jaylen Warren. Yes.

00:31:01

Those are the 2.

00:31:02

The Cardinals made a concerted effort to give almost everything to Jeremiah Love, which was awesome. And he had a big game, 21 for 90, and then scored in the receiving game again.

00:31:13

If you didn't watch the game with San Francisco, the Cardinals were hanging.

00:31:18

Yeah, 36-30.

00:31:19

It was, it was a very tight game that the 49ers, they're the better team, so they took it at the end. But making this transition and making Jeremiah Love, I mean, imagine, imagine taking a top 5 NFL running back in the draft and then actually making him the engine of your team and good things happening.

00:31:39

We did get a quick injury update on Baker Mayfield. The MRI came back. No fracture, no ligament damage, no tendon damage. 3 weeks or so max for Baker being out. So that is good for the, Okay. That is good for the Bad Bucs.

00:31:53

To give some numbers to Jeremiah Love being more involved, Jeremiah Love had 21 rush attempts. Tyler Allgeier had 2. This is exactly what you want. You want to see a top 5 pick getting all of the work. And I would assume like this is, it probably won't be that crazy drastic, you know, 21 to 2 going forward. But this is—

00:32:16

should be.

00:32:17

Yeah, it should be. And I think this is prescriptive of like the change has been made and he's going to be close to a bell cow back going forward and Allgeier will spell him, not split with him.

00:32:28

The routes—

00:32:28

trade for him.

00:32:29

The routes were still very close between Jeremiah Love and Tyler Allgeier. Like we stop it.

00:32:35

Trade for him.

00:32:36

Stop it. Yeah.

00:32:37

Trade for Jeremiah Love. The Cardinals have a good enough offense to keep up and a bad enough defense to never win. They're going to be in situations where you can't put Allgeier on there.

00:32:45

Well, they've got a superstar wide receiver as well.

00:32:48

Michael Wilson.

00:32:49

You darn right.

00:32:50

17 targets. 17 targets.

00:32:52

Yeah, I played against him this week.

00:32:53

Only turned it into 89 yards, but—

00:32:55

And a score.

00:32:56

Yeah. 11 for 89 and a touchdown.

00:32:58

Great game.

00:32:59

Baysal Tootin, Javonte Williams. Javonte looked good. He did better this week than the other weeks combined.

00:33:05

Yes. They finally had it going a little bit.

00:33:07

And then Tootin with the donation touchdown.

00:33:10

Did you see the, the The talk?

00:33:13

I mean, I saw the brief conversation from Liam Cohen where he's like, he wanted somebody else to have the touchdown.

00:33:18

No, did you see what— he's not wrong. And I think he might have even been maybe a little annoyed. But Trevor Lawrence said, yeah, he said, I wanted to give Tootin' the touchdown for the fantasy people.

00:33:30

It's the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

00:33:31

I'll tell you what, that smells bad.

00:33:34

Like, that's— oh, like betting bad?

00:33:37

I'm not saying that.

00:33:38

No, I know.

00:33:38

I'm just saying it smells— No matter what it is, it smells bad.

00:33:42

If you didn't see it, 8-plus minutes left, wide open end zone for Trevor Lawrence, takes a knee up 35 to 6 or something, or 28 to 6. And then, you know, Tootin scores on the next play. You can't do that with 8 minutes left.

00:33:56

No, not with 8. If you're Lawrence, you go, they're like, what happened? You go, total brain fart. I thought there was 2 minutes. I thought the clock was much lower than it actually was. Which I, I assume that's what really happened. But for you to not just admit it is, is strange.

00:34:13

It did seem tongue-in-cheek. You're probably right. That's probably what happened. Check this out. Breece Hall, Tootin.

00:34:17

Because you look dumb no matter what.

00:34:19

So there are—

00:34:20

just admit it.

00:34:21

Here are the top 6 players that have hit 15+ miles an hour more than 10 times this year. Number 1 is Breece Hall, Tootin, 15 times.

00:34:28

He's fast.

00:34:28

That's crazy.

00:34:28

Gibbs, Walker, Bijan, Hampton, and then Keaton Mitchell.

00:34:33

I talked about Tootin on the Sunday live of it was like, if you're going to trade for him, you got to do like people are. He's still kind of buried. The hype for Breece Hall-Tootin was very, very strong over the offseason. I loved it. I was, I was fully in on it. And then you're looking at the snap shares and you're like, wow, well, Krod, which there still is some timeshare. I believe Krod had a touchdown. They're kind of splitting that work. But Beshal Tooten is, he's getting the majority of the work and he's a good player and it's a pretty strong offense. So it, he is, you know, I like the call to, to try and trade for Love. I think that might be a little difficult, but Beshal Tooten, it's possible you can still get him.

00:35:17

Yeah. And then Jaylen Warren, I mentioned him briefly, but he was everything for the, he was everything and looked great for the Steelers.

00:35:25

Yes. Including a gigantic, huge run that then got called back on a dumb penalty. And then another huge one.

00:35:35

The reason was 2 plays later, he did the exact same thing at a breakaway touchdown and his legs were so tired that he tripped. Like he couldn't get his foot up. He turfed himself.

00:35:47

If you look at the slow-mo of that, it looks like he hit a landmine. On the way to the— and he would have scored.

00:35:53

Rico was out. So TBD if this is still— if like that's how they'll move forward with Warren.

00:36:00

Probably will. They might. Rico may be going the way of Crawd.

00:36:05

Might be.

00:36:06

JSN, Drake London, Garrett Wilson, Michael Wilson, Ja'Marr Chase. By the way, what is it? JSN, Olave, Garrett Wilson, the trifecta in Ohio State. Pretty good week for those guys.

00:36:18

Yep.

00:36:18

Also a pretty good week for the guy who actually plays for Ohio State, Jeremiah Smith.

00:36:21

Oh yeah.

00:36:22

4 touchdowns.

00:36:23

Who was the other guy on the team with all those players?

00:36:26

There was another one.

00:36:27

Don't worry about it.

00:36:28

Marvin Harrison Jr. Yeah.

00:36:30

Which, which to be honest for Marvin. Pretty good game for Marvin. 40 yards?

00:36:34

Did you see the route where he caught the pass too? He actually ran hard and stuff.

00:36:37

Yeah. Good job, Marvin.

00:36:39

One of these days he'll be a real boy. JSN, London Wilson, Michael Wilson. Ja'Marr Chase. Chase was 9 for 98. Higgins was 6 for 90 with the amazing catch. Christian Watson on Thursday Night Football, Matthew Golden both had big weeks. You had a big week for Kanata Mumfield, which will be an interesting conversation tomorrow on the waiver show in light of the Puka situation. You know, Ferguson, it's not a hot swap for, for Higbee. Ferguson has more athleticism. and is more of a like typical wide receiver style player. If it becomes like, if Ferguson's out for a while, I don't know, Mumfield's probably worth a fab or 2.

00:37:19

Could be. We'll see.

00:37:21

CeeDee Lamb had a nice week again and then double digits for Pickens for the first time.

00:37:25

Slow start for Lamb, but he got it together in the second half and absolute malpractice for the Cowboys to not To call the timeout with that much time left, they should have gone to overtime.

00:37:39

It was, I mean, I don't think anybody thought that could happen in 6 seconds and then they did.

00:37:44

They, that was, there shouldn't have been any time left.

00:37:45

They screwed it up.

00:37:46

I mean, they should have had 6 seconds.

00:37:48

Absolutely.

00:37:48

I agree.

00:37:48

It was ridiculous.

00:37:49

I agree. It was a complete mismanagement of the situation. Kittle, Bowers, Fanning, Kenyan Sadiq with the boss diving touchdown and Juwan Johnson with 2 touchdowns in this one. Higbee, 8 for 62 and 1 with the stat line we expected from Ferguson. Went straight to Higbee. He could be an interesting temporary start if we find out Ferguson can't play.

00:38:12

The, the Sadiq breakout was very fun. He caught 7 of 8 targets, had 105. He had the touchdown and that was on just 58% of the routes. Like he still wasn't even a full-time player yet. So we're, He will be a hot waiver commodity.

00:38:32

Well, and it's nice to see like on an NFL field him 15 yards a catch over 100 yards. And a lot of that was just with the ball in his hands running away from guys, which is what they hope they drafted when they, when they spent that high of a draft pick. So, and they need him right now with some of the other injuries to their, to their other wide receivers. He's going to be a hot pickup.

00:38:56

Yeah.

00:38:56

Anybody else we need to talk about there? Are we going to circle back to the duds? I guess that's what we're doing. I mean, there are some important questions. We got to answer them. Let's take a break. We'll do it in a minute.

00:39:16

Pooped in his big boy pants.

00:39:23

I don't, I don't know. I don't know how to describe the quantity of poop, the size of the pants, but Drake Maye. Drake Maye. Did you see the clip that I saw this morning? He was, he was crying.

00:39:39

Oh really?

00:39:39

I didn't see that.

00:39:40

He was crying on the sideline when Mike Vrabel had to come over and console him, like standing on the sideline. This was into third quarter. I mean, he looked, he looks broken. He looked distraught.

00:39:54

Was it because he was watching his play? I mean, he made some of the most boneheaded, ridiculous decisions. Again, a bad pass on a bad decision in the red zone. It's like, what's, what's going on between the ears right now?

00:40:10

Mike Vrabel after the 35-6 loss said, my concern level is very high for this football team.

00:40:15

Okay.

00:40:16

And then Drake May, according to Doug Clausen tweeting the stat out, Drake May, 9 fumbles, 10 picks since the start of the postseason. He is the first player with 9 fumbles and 10 interceptions in a 7-game span since—

00:40:27

Jameis.

00:40:28

Jameis Winston. Since Jameis Winston during the 30-touchdown, 30-interception season.

00:40:33

He is playing like Jameis in the sense that like balls that you should not throw that you're taught in like Pop Warner. You don't, you know, if you're spun around and You just don't throw that ball into nothingness and he's doing it.

00:40:46

So the problem here is the Bo Nix we've gotten for the first handful of weeks has been pretty darn bad. And then you had a confident player in the second half last night after some throws went his way. What makes Drake May special or could make him special is going to come alongside the confidence to make throws. And right now he has the least confidence possible because he's made multiple end zone reads where he's throwing interceptions while he's on the run. I mean, he, he cost them a game because they were down 3 and he threw away a ball in the end zone. And then in this game, he did it again. He has been the quarterback 23, 25, and 30. He has the highest interception rate in the NFL. AJ Brown is not coming back anytime soon. He does not have the weapons that they need. For goodness sakes, Ke'Shawn Booty would have made a difference because he's not doing anything in Houston. It's been mismanaged through and through. And you're not even, You're not even utilizing— I mean, Travion had an awful week. He was 2.9 a carry, 8 for 23, and didn't get— he got one target.

00:41:48

His success rate is very low.

00:41:50

I mean, it's been abysmal through and through. When Mack Hollins is a go-to receiver on your offense, I say all this to ask you the question and submit to you, is it time to actually be— drop the landmine?

00:42:04

Yes.

00:42:04

To say goodbye to Drake Maye, move forward with Anybody else?

00:42:10

Well, not just anybody else, but there are plenty of good options. And I think, I think it's fine to not just hold Maye on the bench, but to drop him. I believe good days are ahead for Drake Maye. If you want to hold on to him for when AJ Brown returns and the schedule opens up, you know, it's tough matchup this next week on the road in Buffalo. Sure, there's going to be a high over-under. Maybe you can talk yourself into starting him, but I'm, I'm Very skeptical that you're going to be happy. So yeah, I think if you drop him right now, it's a landmine. Now later on, you know, week 7, maybe you get AJ Brown back then and that's Chicago, Miami. You've got Detroit a couple of weeks after. So I do think there are bright days ahead, but I believe it's a month away. And so if you want to drop him and move on, you certainly can't. I would not be playing him.

00:42:57

The hardest part is the bright days have to represent like Top 8 in the league.

00:43:04

Yeah.

00:43:04

That's just a tough thing to picture right now, but maybe we get it with some better schedule situation.

00:43:10

Herbert.

00:43:12

I mean, come on, man.

00:43:14

The Chargers.

00:43:16

Come on, man.

00:43:17

They got off to a strong start and looked like, okay, the Chargers are here. And then they just Charger'd all over.

00:43:23

The bottom 5 in EPA per play among all quarterbacks with 50 dropbacks this year. Dead last, Jameis Winston.

00:43:29

Makes sense.

00:43:30

I don't know why I didn't work a little pun into today since he might not be starting soon.

00:43:33

Yeah.

00:43:35

Aaron Rodgers, Baker Mayfield, Drake Maye, Justin Herbert. I mean, it— I mean, you can't, you can't lose a game where your defense turns the other team over 5 times.

00:43:46

Correct.

00:43:46

You can't do it. Can't do it. They're so cooked. And speaking of cooked, I mean, Hampton. is going the wrong direction. Snap counts, 42% for Hampton, 38% for Mitchell, who is the more efficient runner in this one. Kamani Vidal, 25%.

00:44:03

Silky smooth back.

00:44:06

I don't like it.

00:44:10

Yeah.

00:44:10

I mean, this, this game inside the 10.

00:44:12

This was also a game where I think there were very few snaps for the Chargers in the 4th. I want to say Hampton had like And it was about the same for Keaton Mitchell. So there weren't a lot of opportunities. He's still got 15 carries on the ground. You're certainly not happy with—

00:44:32

The target part there.

00:44:33

Yeah.

00:44:34

3 targets in 3 games is not the Mike McDaniel H-anscription.

00:44:40

He only ran 6 routes.

00:44:41

Yeah. And that's the big issue.

00:44:43

Mitchell's better at that.

00:44:44

Keaton Mitchell has been involved in the receiving game in a way that You would, you would hope, especially the way that it looked in preseason training camp and all that.

00:44:53

But Vidal was right behind Keaton Mitchell, one fewer route.

00:44:56

Yeah. That Hampton would be involved in the passing game and then Keaton Mitchell would be used kind of in 2 running back sets also in the passing game. But until they get Hampton involved in the receiving game, which might not happen.

00:45:10

They're going to go to Seattle next week.

00:45:11

It's going to be, it's going to be tough sledding. He's still a, he's still a good, I mean, You brought up earlier the, you know, the number of fast runs in the NFL. He was, you know, top of the list there or like number 5.

00:45:25

Him and Mitchell were tied.

00:45:26

Yeah. So he still looked good, I think, and they're still giving the ball to him enough. It's a tough matchup. Seattle, Denver, Kansas City the next 3 weeks.

00:45:35

I don't like a game in which they were leading for a lot of it where he gets 42% of snaps. Again, we said at the beginning of the year, the differentiator between like Achane and Hampton was like, well, Achane is going to be on a crap team. Hampton's going to be on a great team.

00:45:49

Right.

00:45:49

Great offense.

00:45:50

Yeah.

00:45:51

Nope. So yeah, none of, none of that conversation is to say you drop somebody like Hampton.

00:45:56

Oh no.

00:45:56

Goodness. That's not the context of it.

00:45:58

It's just, you're going to be starting him every week.

00:46:01

I mean, this was a guy that was going back to back or ahead of Ken Bone in some drafts. That's all. And so it changed expectations. Bucky Irving was 15 for 46. Bucky Irving did not play the final 15 snaps of this game. He was seen with a heating pack on his back. Why do I know this? I looked into it very detailed this morning due to some transactions in our League of Record.

00:46:21

There might have been a Bucky Irving for De'Von Achane trade for playing for the future, playing for now.

00:46:26

There may be.

00:46:27

There might have been one of those.

00:46:29

Mike is— how you feeling about that, Mike? Do we want to let the people know what happened? So I would love to get some candid thoughts from Al Borland.

00:46:36

Andy's super League of Record team suffered an unfortunate De'Von Achane situation.

00:46:42

Yeah, that sucks.

00:46:43

We are a keeper league. So the, so like those guys moving forward, they still have actually a good amount of value because look, Achane should be back by the beginning of next year, assuming all of his surgeries and everything go well. And you just, you put up the bat signal. It's like, hey, I got this guy. You know, come trade for—

00:47:05

he's, I mean, he's a great keeper.

00:47:07

He's a great keeper. But I mean, he's still, Not going to play for in your team if you trade for him. And then Jason's like, hey, this Bucky Irving guy who's having a real strong start to the season, I'm just going to swap him just, you know, straight up for a very injured person. I'm not going to make you send a pick over or anything to help my team for next year.

00:47:29

Get the camera off me.

00:47:31

See, it's equal opportunity, equal opportunity support.

00:47:36

Al?

00:47:36

Sure. I mean, I thought I made a compelling point in our league chat, which was that like this player is far more valuable than a 2nd round pick.

00:47:44

Yeah. But are you 100% sure he's better than Bucky Irving for next year?

00:47:50

No, not 100%. I mean, I would say that like if these players were both healthy right now, there's a world Bucky has a better rest of season.

00:48:00

That's why this trade is The trade with no draft picks is very weird.

00:48:04

You had to pay zero tax. It's very weird. Well, what was amazing was that I had like, I put the bat signal out there and then I went and immediately my strategy and I share this because it's a good strategy for people who want to make trades. It's week 3, right? Trust the fact that people are going to have different emotional states on these teams. I went immediately to look at the teams that were winless. And make offers to all of them because for them, they're looking for the future. And they also, you know, if you're winless or you don't have a good record, you want change. That's just what you want. Now, Jason's a very future forward team completely.

00:48:40

Yeah, I completely agree. This year already playing for the future.

00:48:42

But I would have looked at 2-4 teams or, you know, whatever the case may be. And just, they just want change. They want to feel like they're doing something. So that's a general trade tip I would give people is like teams that, you know, are mentally unsettled by how the season has started, go target them. for trades because they want to make trades.

00:48:59

I feel like what you're saying is that you think I'm mentally unsettled right now.

00:49:03

You did give him CeeDee Lamb and Bucky Irving.

00:49:08

The context.

00:49:08

No, no, no. I wasn't saying you were at all. I was saying teams that are going to try to win but are 2-4 or, you know, 1-3.

00:49:14

Our league is so different in the sense of our keeper system and how teams come into each year. There was a reason why Andy last year, his super team, he got wet in the draft because he was the You had the worst record last year.

00:49:26

I traded for Walker midway through the season and it paid off.

00:49:28

I'm looking to be the 2027 super team.

00:49:31

You're not at all the example I was talking about. I'm talking about a team that's actually trying to compete.

00:49:34

You also got a bunch of picks, Jay. You didn't get any picks you could have extracted.

00:49:39

It's week 3.

00:49:41

And he knows it too. He would have given you picks.

00:49:43

Maybe.

00:49:44

No, he definitely would have gave you picks.

00:49:46

You never know.

00:49:47

The only issue is, is in our league, we have so many teams that are basically feeling like they're out of it playing for next year. And so the question is—

00:49:56

And all colluding to help one team.

00:49:58

No, no one's colluding to help. No one wants to help Andy.

00:50:02

Do you agree with that statement, Jeremy?

00:50:03

I sure do.

00:50:04

Of course Jeremy agrees.

00:50:04

Nobody's colluding to help me.

00:50:06

As soon as Andy sends up the bat signal, there's a line of people waiting to help him.

00:50:10

Listen, the thing is—

00:50:11

So weird.

00:50:12

People want to help themselves and I am happy to help them help themselves.

00:50:15

If he wanted to help himself, he would have gotten a pick in the deal.

00:50:18

Yeah.

00:50:18

But he wanted to be the first to market. It's a race.

00:50:20

It was a race.

00:50:20

It is a race. I mean, he started the season bad And now he gets to come back from an ACL injury.

00:50:25

So I get the band. I, I, I had, I did have 2 people DM me after I made the trade and told me I should have waited because they were cooking up some offers for De'Von Achane. Does that make you feel any better?

00:50:38

No, they weren't.

00:50:39

You weren't one of those teams, were you?

00:50:40

It doesn't surprise me that, I mean, the fact that what you're saying is you had 3 or 4 people fighting over the chance to help you and I'm not shocked.

00:50:49

I, you know what, Al has got some demons.

00:50:52

Al is playing for this year and he's very upset that Andy's team looks significantly better. And anytime that something helps Andy's team, it will be a monster. I basically, I said this and this is 100% true. This is 1,000% true. If I did this exact trade with anyone else in the league, no one would even bat an eye.

00:51:14

But the eyes are getting batted.

00:51:16

Yeah. It's because your, your team is the super team that got hurt. And so I don't know.

00:51:22

Yeah. And then you just fixed it for me. Uh, Travion Henderson, Rhamondre Stevenson both had awful weeks. Targets went Rhamondre's way, 3 versus 1. That we don't get this. Nobody understands this. If you want to take advantage of anything Travion does, space in the passing game would be part of it.

00:51:38

I don't know why they're not involving him in the in the receiving game. They need him out there in space so much.

00:51:44

I'd put both guys on the field if it's a problem about pass blocking. Like if you're running DeMario Douglas around and Matt Collins around and Williams and these guys, let Trevion be a weapon. And then Jadarrius Price, 5 for 15, got— he fumbled again.

00:51:58

He got benched.

00:52:00

So this is going down, down for Jadarrius right now. And the team lost and the fumble played a big part. It was what, 33-31? I mean, You cannot as a rookie come in. What was it, Jahmyr Gibbs that fumbled on his first play ever? I think that was it.

00:52:16

Maybe. I know Kareem Hunt did.

00:52:18

Yeah. I mean, you just can't do this as a rookie on a defending championship team. If you want to establish a role and you go out there and you fumble 2 times in 3 games.

00:52:27

Kyle's saying it was James Cook.

00:52:28

Oh, James Cook. That is who it was. But like, you can't do it. They're going to give the ball to Salami.

00:52:33

They're going to give the ball to We'll say the metrics for Jadarrius Price though, among 39 qualifying running backs, he is 39th in EPA per rush, 32nd in rush success rate, 8th in yards after contact. Like these are not— you're fumbling and you're not producing.

00:52:54

I like the last one. I don't like the other 2. Malik Nabers. What are we doing?

00:53:02

Yeah, this was a Jameis Winston.

00:53:04

It was, it was, but it's also like we haven't seen neighbors be neighbors yet.

00:53:07

Yeah.

00:53:07

But the, so is he going to be like, maybe Jackson Dart was perfectly healthy. Would we, would we feel like that first week was enough for us to feel like he's the same dude or like changed expectations? What is your thought on him? Like rest of the season?

00:53:22

It's very difficult in terms of like that game, the Giants versus Tennessee. It was 12 to 7 and it was 12 to 7, not because like the defenses were just juggernauts stopping the other. It was, it was a storm again.

00:53:36

Yeah.

00:53:36

Like this was a, this was a disgusting game. That's why I think part of the, like the JJ McCarthy trade, I get it. And I understand not wanting Jameis to be like, everything's resting on Jameis. I mean, man, the ultimate goofball comments. Well, he's like, we scored 12 points. That's 6 times 2. James, the soundbites from this week were fantastic. But you can't— that wasn't a real offense for either side of the football team. Just like the Chicago and Minnesota game in week 2. This is not— you need to throw that in the garbage. This is— so I don't actually know what Malik Nabers is with James.

00:54:16

Yeah, I was surprised that Nabers had 5 receptions in a game environment like that. It was, it was not good. I think bright days are ahead for Nabers. The quarterback needs to get figured out for it to be really good.

00:54:30

And I don't know if they've got, I mean, we might not have that answer.

00:54:33

Exactly. We cannot assume at this point that JJ McCarthy is just going to develop to become a good quarterback.

00:54:38

I can tell you the signups right now for next week's big dome meeting.

00:54:45

Yeah.

00:54:45

People are signing up.

00:54:46

Oh, it's big time.

00:54:48

You guys getting a lot of new followers?

00:54:49

Big time.

00:54:50

Your socials are blowing up. Big dome.

00:54:52

Yeah.

00:54:52

Big dome. We're having a meeting next week.

00:54:54

Usually this time of year we're not.

00:54:55

I know.

00:54:56

It's usually so quiet.

00:54:58

And people are like, Mike is getting on here on Sunday live, which hopefully you guys caught. And he was like, he's like, why do I have to talk about weather in week 3? Freaking super El Niño.

00:55:09

Get out of here.

00:55:10

2 for 17 for Ted McMillan. That is a catastrophic line for a player that you drafted to be your, your, you know, a top tier guy. So we'll see if he can do it against Detroit. But I think Jalen Coker is kind of important to both guys. Jalen Waddle, we've got one bad, one good, one bad for this huge comeback. It didn't involve him. 2 for 10 for Jalen Waddle. Where are you rest of season? Like Jalen Waddle. The rest of the season will be the wide receiver.

00:55:40

He'll still be a top 20 guy. I think that the Rams are, they're going to be a team that you're going to try to avoid. Like, I think that their defense is that level.

00:55:52

Yeah, they traded for McDuffie. They're a very difficult matchup. I'm still pretty bullish on Waddle going forward. I would say, yeah, I would trade somewhere around wide receiver 15.

00:56:04

Jameson Williams through 3 weeks, 4 for 49 in this one. They got him involved early and then they said no more. 9 targets, 4 targets, 4 targets. It was the Gibbs show. I mean, Amon-Ra, by the way, Jason's Green Goblin pick for prize picks. That's supposed to be the layup. And he, before the episode, Jason comes in and he's like, guys, I got a line today that feels like cheating. He's like, and I was like, oh, is it like when I had McCaffrey for like 16 receiving yards? He goes, yeah, might be better than that.

00:56:35

It was.

00:56:36

It was Amon-Ra. For 32 yards.

00:56:38

For 30. All he needed was 32 yards.

00:56:40

He caught 4 passes.

00:56:41

Yeah. How many yards did he have?

00:56:43

19. Here's some numbers for you. 56, 60, 161, 62, 73, 43, 193, 70, 60, 70.

00:56:51

These all sound more than—

00:56:54

Do they? Yeah. Oh, well, let me keep going. 45, 115, 77, 70, 100, 45, 86, 97, 58, 54. 149, 92, 164, 54, 68, 139. Let me get to this year. Those are the last 2 years.

00:57:09

I think we got it.

00:57:10

Yeah. 67, 142.

00:57:12

Okay. We're going to keep going.

00:57:13

Green Goblin of 33 yards. 19. Okay. Oh, football.

00:57:22

Emeka Ebuka still can't get to double digits and it's probably not going to get better with undrafted free agent quarterbacks for the next 3 weeks. Godwin has not a lot left right now. And that team—

00:57:35

I was going to say the Buccaneers are a team that looks like you do not want a part of right now. You're going to have a couple of weeks without Baker. We don't know if Bucky was injured. I mean, I know he was injured in the game, but we don't know if it's anything serious. But that team is right now 3 losses. They haven't looked good. And now they're without their quarterback. So you, you would imagine this team is probably going to start off at best like 1-5. And at that point, your season is over.

00:58:06

Speaking of seasons being over, Brian Thomas Jr.

00:58:09

Dude, speaking of careers.

00:58:13

So Brian Thomas Jr.'s snap count dropped to 37%. Brian Thomas Jr. had 1 target for 1 catch for 8 yards in a game in which There have been 2 games this year they've scored 35 points, 34 and 35. Nope, it's not happening.

00:58:28

Parker Washington, that is definitely happening.

00:58:32

Dude's so good.

00:58:33

But I mean, 37% snaps. What is this career ending? I mean, what is going on?

00:58:37

You got it. The Jaguars have to trade him. Like they have to get something for him.

00:58:41

He feels like a trade candidate for sure.

00:58:43

And if I'm any other team out there in the league, I'm trying to trade for him. This is a guy who as a rookie put up 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns. And now it's like he's the worst, right? Like he is uninvolved completely in this offense.

00:58:59

BTJ was the Harrison year, right?

00:59:02

Yes.

00:59:02

Yeah.

00:59:02

So both of those guys have gone from their best season is their rookie season. Yeah. And then decline and then decline. Yeah. Even Ladd.

00:59:11

Neighbors too, granted injury.

00:59:13

But routes-wise, it's Jacoby, it's Parker. It's Brenton Strange. Those are the—

00:59:18

And who was the other? It's not—

00:59:20

Josh Cameron.

00:59:21

Josh Cameron.

00:59:22

I mean, he's only at 28% of the routes.

00:59:25

Yeah, but how much was his snap count percentage-wise?

00:59:29

Well, he had the same exact snaps as Brian Thomas.

00:59:32

That's right. That's mind-blowing. Tucker Kraft.

00:59:36

Thomas was 47% of the routes.

00:59:39

It was a week for certain tight ends. These guys didn't get it done. Tucker Kraft, Sam LaPorta, Dalton Kincaid, Kyle Pitts. Isaiah Likely and Mark Andrews. It couldn't be more over for Andrews. That dude looks so slow. And then he, he's slow and he drops the ball constantly.

00:59:54

Yeah, he does.

00:59:56

And I mean, Kincaid, it was, it was disappointing. He fumbled 2 for 38. Yeah, the Bills were, I mean, they were throwing to catch up the whole game.

01:00:06

Yes. I don't, I don't think anyone was like great for the Bills. It was the weirdness of We just talked on last week's show of, you know, coming off of the Thursday game where it's, where Josh Allen, how does anyone ever stop Josh Allen? He's the, this is the greatest player in football I've ever seen. But you know that people do. And then you go to the next week and it's the freaking Chargers are at home. They're slowing down Josh Allen and company.

01:00:35

It's football.

01:00:36

Yeah, man.

01:00:37

It's so weird.

01:00:38

James Cook had an okay game, but literally nobody else did.

01:00:41

I mean, yeah, Cook was great.

01:00:43

DJ Moore didn't get to 10 points. Keon Coleman was 4 points. Kincaid less than 3 points with the fumble. There was just nothing.

01:00:54

I would not be surprised. Those of you out there, if you see Josh Allen not practicing this week, there was a knee injury. You can go and review it and then you can see the postgame speech from Joe Brady when they got the W. He was clearly limping in the locker room. Most medical analysts are considering this a contusion versus any type of MCL sprain or something like that, which would be good. But you could see limited practices and you could see limited running for a little bit if he's banged up. But yeah, the Isaiah Likely situation is unfortunate because that came— I mean, the number one guy that had the rapport with Jackson Dart in the offseason was Isaiah Likely.

01:01:32

Yeah.

01:01:33

Again, that was part of that crazy bad weather game where you kind of have to throw that game out and that Minnesota-Chicago game out.

01:01:42

I think it will be better for Likely.

01:01:45

That one was, that was a goose, right? Yeah. That was, that was very, very bad. The opportunity, the need, the Chargers are just absolutely broken. I mean, the Chargers are Who's— it's like they have so many good pieces. They've got a quarterback, which is basically the only thing you need. They've got a first-round running back. They've got 2 quality tackles. They've got a first-round wide receiver in Ladd and their offense. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Second round pick 34.

01:02:20

First round pick.

01:02:22

But their offense Scored 14 points in week 1, 14 points in week 2, and 16 points in week 3.

01:02:32

Seattle, Denver, Kansas City, 2 of 3 on the road before the bye week. I would bet they're 0-6.

01:02:42

Is Mike McDaniel— what is going on?

01:02:45

It's not just McDaniel.

01:02:45

No, you can't go this way, McDaniel.

01:02:47

Because last year they didn't— I mean, this is 3 straight years with Hardball. Underwhelming.

01:02:53

Hmm. It's a mystery.

01:02:56

Yeah. I'm sorry, Chargers fans. It's not like we weren't rooting for you, man. We like Ladd. We like Hampton. 2 of the guys are my guys based on the expectations for Mike McDaniel to do what he's done with these guys.

01:03:07

Yeah. The Chargers and the Patriots are the 2 teams that I feel like are broken right now. The bottom 4 scoring teams in the league. The Dolphins. Yeah. Okay. We saw that coming.

01:03:22

Yeah.

01:03:23

The Titans.

01:03:24

Yeah. That checks out.

01:03:26

And then the Patriots and the Chargers.

01:03:28

That one's more surprising.

01:03:30

Tampa's not far behind. And also Houston's 0-3. Yeah. That's unbelievable. But yeah, I mean, Tampa's— I'm trying to look at their schedule because I want to be a fair-minded Like critic of different teams, not just the Chargers. Green Bay this week against Tampa. So that's a tale of 2 teams.

01:03:51

Oh boy.

01:03:51

Feeling the funk. And then at Dallas, then Pittsburgh.

01:03:55

Oh, quick Green Bay note. Nothing has been said. This is all speculation. But there was a video of Christian Watson on his last route.

01:04:05

Yeah.

01:04:06

And it definitely looks like a guy who pulled up and reached right for his hamstring. So Green Bay has—

01:04:11

I wasn't sure how much you thought about that, Mike.

01:04:14

It's very— a guy who has hamstring problems.

01:04:17

Yeah.

01:04:17

Grabbing his hamstring.

01:04:18

Yeah. It was after the interception.

01:04:20

Yeah. So last week, nothing has been said publicly about it, but I'm just— I bring that up because tomorrow's waivers. And if you got Watson and you haven't— like they haven't said anything, you need to just be prepared for— you might have a Wednesday pop up and like, oh, Christian Watson is not practicing. And just, you gotta, you gotta be in front of these things.

01:04:42

Yeah. Yeah. All right. We're going to say goodbye for today. Back with waivers tomorrow. If you need custom waiver wire lists for every single one of your leagues, that's part of the Ultimate Dashboard at jointhefoot.com. Thank you for tuning in, supporting the show. We'll catch you tomorrow.
