We have major news right now. The Trump administration's narrative concerning the murder of Alex Pretty has fallen apart. Even Trump administration officials cannot defend what happened to the point where they have no evidence to support the Trump's narrative that Alex Pretty was somehow antagonizing or trying to assault law enforcement officers. They've lost Fox News. They've lost a number of Republicans. This is serious, and it really does suggest that we are at an inflection point when it comes to our nation, when it comes to where we are. We're going to talk about it. But before we do, make sure to like, comment, share, and subscribe because people need to see, in my opinion, the dam really is breaking. So today, Trump administration officials were trotted out from Cash Patel to Greg Bovino to Christie Noem to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. They were trotted out on a number of television shows where they were talking talking about the horrific shooting of Alex Pretty that happened in Minneapolis yesterday.
And what's stunning to me, and what you're going to see in these clips that I'm going to show you shortly, is that not a single news anchor was buying what the Trump administration was selling. But it's not just that. Trump administration officials did not have an answer whenever they were asked, Well, what evidence do you have to suggest that Alex Pretty was any threat to the ICE officers that shot and killed him? And to me, when you lose Fox news this bad, it really does show that the tide, well, the tide is shifting. I want you to watch this first clip from Fox News this morning. Take a listen.
Another individual is dead at the hands of Border Patrol. Let's be clear, We do not know if there was any pushback from this individual who was armed. We do not have evidence that he was waving a gun, doing anything to threaten border patrol. He had his phone, and he was shooting. He was viewing and recording the incident. That's what he was doing, recording the incident. What is your reaction? You are an elected official. What can you do about it? Well, look, I don't think there's any question a majority of Americans want President Trump and ICE to go in and apprehend the criminal illegals. That's what President Trump campaigned on, and he's doing exactly what he said. I look at what happened in Minneapolis versus what happened in Washington, DC. When President Trump sent the National Guard into Washington, DC, the mayor, Mayor Muriel Bowser, supported that. She worked her local law and first more, worked with the President. In a short period of time, they have really been successful in reducing the amount of crime in Washington, DC. That was a big success. Fast forward to where we are in Minneapolis. We have a governor, an attorney general, and a mayor of Minneapolis who are- He talks about how Minneapolis officials aren't working with the Trump administration.
But what Maria was saying at the beginning, pretty stunning, because she did it again with Cash Patel. Take a listen.
I know that this is a DHS investigation, but there is outrage across the country that there is another killing Someone is dead at the hands of Border Patrol. What can you tell us? Great to be with you, Maria. Look, Secretary Noem stated it perfectly, You do not get to attack law enforcement officials in this country without any repercussions. You do not to do that in Minnesota, LA or anywhere else. And the inter-agency is leading the charge out there. We've already arrested with the inter-agency those that violated the FACE Act and impeded a priestful prayer in church. We've already just last night arrested four more individuals involved in the damage of government property that we saw the videos of online. We've arrested other individuals who have made threats to law enforcement online. So we are not messing around. It doesn't have to be in person. If you threaten law enforcement officials or civilians, we are going to come find you. And as for this latest shooting, yes, DHS and HSI are the lead, and the FBI is processing the physical evidence. So we're in possession of the firearms, which is going to go to our laboratory.
But as Secretary Noem said, no one who wants to be peaceful shows up at a protest with a firearms that is loaded with two full magazines. That is not a peaceful protest, and you do not get to touch law enforcement. You do that anywhere. This FBI is going to be- But he's lying, because when Alex Pretty arrived, his firearms wasn't brandished.
His arm was in his pocket or, I guess, in a holster of some sort. The only thing that was brandished by Alex Pretty was a phone. And even Maria, you see her face, she's just not buying it. And here's the thing. This argument is actually really dividing Republicans right now because on one side, you have pro-Second Amendment Republicans. On the other side, you have pro-Trump Republicans. And while many pro-Second Amendment Republicans are saying, You know what? Since when is it a crime to show up to anywhere with a semi-automatic weapon, with magazines. He was legally able to do that. He was a law-abiding gun owner. And that is completely undercutting their argument. Take a listen to Todd Blanch when he was pressed on Meet the Press.
Is that ICE is doing all of this work, doing their jobs, and local law enforcement are not being allowed to do a single thing to help, and that is dangerous, as we saw yesterday morning. Mr. Blanch, respectfully, there are only 600 police officers in Minneapolis. There are three 1,000 ICE agents. Local officials there say it strains credulity to think that they can back up every ICE official. But I want to stick to the video and what happened yesterday. The specific specifics of it. What exactly threatened those law enforcement officials? Did at any point Mr. Pretty brandish a gun? I can see the same video that Nobody else can see. It's been analyzed up and down for the past 24 hours. But there's obviously an investigation that's ongoing. Secretary Noem talked about that yesterday, which is what we would expect any time a tragedy like this occurs. But I disagree with you when you say, what was there that looked as if there was a confrontation that was a pro-we don't know what happened in the minutes leading up to what we just watched. We don't know what I What ICE saw, what ICE heard. That's part of the investigation that's going to be happening.
But what we did not see, again, and we cannot avoid this conversation. What we did not see is a single cop helping with that ICE isolated targeted effort by ICE to arrest a criminal. And you're right, there are three... Go ahead. Sorry. Did you see him at any point brandish a gun? Have you been told by law enforcement there on the ground that at any point he brandished a gun, that he threatened them with a gun? The video shows he's holding up a cell phone. No, you can't see what everything is happening. What you do see is you see several ICE officers surrounding him. You see a violent- You can't see what is happening.
That's from Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch. He doesn't have answers, and yet they're brandishing this guy, Alex Prattie, as a domestic terrorist. That's what they said. Noem said he was a domestic terrorist. Take a listen from Scott Besson. This answer, by the way, is going to infuriate Second Amendment Republicans. Take a listen.
I know this is not your lane, but I got to ask you about what's happened in Minneapolis as a member of the Trump cabinet. Are you concerned to see another American citizen ends up dead, shot by federal law enforcement? Jonathan, it's a tragedy when anyone dies. But I can tell you the situation on the ground there is being stirred up by Governor Walsh. I was out there Two weeks ago, Governor Walsh declined to provide a security detail for me to go into the Minnesota capital with the state police. So he is fomenting chaos because there is substantial waste, fraud, and abuse. My job as Treasury Secretary is to investigate that. And I think that this chaos is going out there. And again, I am sorry that this gentleman is dead, but he did bring a nine-millimetre a semi-automatic weapon with two cartridges to what was supposed to be a peaceful protest. I think that there are a lot of paid agitators who are genning things up, and the governor has not done a good job of tamping this down. I I mean, as you know, he was an ICU nurse, worked for the Veterans Administration, and there's no evidence that he brandished the gun whatsoever.
In fact, it appears that he was disarmed before he was- But he brought a gun. He brought a gun. Have you ever gone to a protest, Jonathan? We do have a second man in this country that- Jonathan, have you ever Have you gone to a protest? I mean- Have you gone to a protest? I mean, no, actually, as a reporter covering it. Okay, I've been to a protest. Guess what? I didn't bring a gun. I brought a billboard. Okay. Secretary Besson, thank- That's a stunning, stunning answer because they are admitting that this is about him bringing a gun.
But that is going to divide Second Amendment, folks, because we do have a Second Amendment in this nation. The Second Amendment allows you to bring a gun to a protest. So if you want to, there was nothing illegal that he did. There was nothing illegal that Alex Pretty did. He had a license to carry that firearms. He had the ability to carry those magazines. I think the perfect encapsulation of all of this was said today by Senator A. B. Klobuchar because I want you to take a listen. She made a very good point today.
It's remarkable to hear what the Deputy Attorney General said about this. He said that essentially state and local officials, I'm going to read his words exactly Exactly. A federal investigation is ongoing, make no mistake. This avoidable tragedy is a result of the total failure of Minnesota's city and state officials. He's blaming this- I don't know how you can say-on state and local officials. What do you make of that?
I have been with these officials. I have seen them.
I think you have, too, pleading for peace.
Somehow, Eighty thousand peaceful protesters in ten below weather.
I was there with them marching.
When they were able to march without any problems. Then the next day, a half a dozen ICE and border control agents couldn't handle a guy with a cell phone taking video of them and shot him.
I think it's pretty obvious what's going on here. What needs to happen is they need to leave.
She's right. It is pretty obvious what's happening here. What we are seeing is a narrative shift because we really are at an inflection point. There really is no gray area here. What everyone saw on that tape is what everyone saw. It is murder. You even have Trump administration officials cagey, uncomfortable on television. Fox News is now questioning it. A whole host of people, NBA players, have come out against this. This really is a watershed moment, and I think people need to know about it. So make sure to like, comment, share, and subscribe.
