You're listening to DraftKings Network.

00:00:11

Hi, I'm Ben Stiller from the Academy Awards snub movie, Dodgeball. You know, this election is a lot like dodgeball. Kamala Harris is the average Joe underdog. No, this isn't the time for jokes. You know what? It's way too important. Donald Trump wants to terminate the Constitution. Project 2025 will give him nearly unlimited power. We can't let him get anywhere near the White House. So vote for Kamala Harris. Yeah, see, that was better. The serious version was much better, right?

00:00:39

Paid for by Harris for President.

00:00:42

Am I reading this reporting correctly? I believe if these are all real accounts that can be verified, that we have breaking news regarding these fans, these bozos at Yankee Stadium who are heroically- Heroes. Phelonious.

00:00:59

First pitch tonight Well, they're allowed back in the stadium.

00:01:02

There you go.

00:01:04

There you go. I thought it would have been funny if they only suspended them for game five and allowed them to go to LA for the games.

00:01:17

One game suspension.

00:01:18

Not the rest of the series, just game five.

00:01:20

It's ridiculous. Not even a one game suspension.

00:01:22

It's a little rough over there, Chris. I don't know if those guys would want to go to Dodger Stadium.

00:01:26

Exactly. Shop as ravine.

00:01:28

Not useful. Greg, can you tell me- Totally useful. Can you tell me, Greg, what it is that you're feeling? Because this is as indignant as I've seen you about any sports subject in a long time. You came in here banning those fans for life and wanting them nowhere near a field. And tonight, they're going to be back on the field as heroes who are going to be cashing in right up until game time.

00:01:50

Yeah, I think that's terrible. I think the Yankees are making a terrible statement. That's the reason David Samson was right in saying there is zero chance they will be in the victory parade should they win. It's because that would be making a statement, Hey, fans, you can do anything you want. You can mug an opposing outfielder when he's trying to catch a baseball. You can do anything you want. And in this case, they just went over a line egregiously. I think what the two of those guys did, one, grabbing the wrist, the other, prying open a glove and stealing the ball, it just crossed the line. I think it was terrible behavior. I really do.

00:02:27

First of all, one person did cross the line. It was Moukibets. Am I right, Billy? Yeah. He was stress-fressing. Second of all, what the Yankees are saying is, if you can help our team win a World Series game, do whatever you want. Whatever it takes. That's the attitude we need in pinstripes. Whatever it takes to get that victory. And those guys right there, they're not bozos, Dan Lebitard. How dare you? And as Billy pointed out earlier, we're going to need them for the Comeback Part 2, which we do in 20 years. You called them bozos. That's not going to help us book those guys. We're be in tight competition with everybody else.

00:03:02

Clown, bozos and clown.

00:03:03

Guys, think about the ratings, though, on a foul ball down the right field line tonight. Tell me, Chris. I will tune in right then. Let me know when it happens.

00:03:10

Is one of them playing shortstop? Wow.

00:03:13

What I don't understand is in sports, we're very big on the 12th man, the sixth man. This was the 26th man making an appearance yesterday, and now all of a sudden-The 10th man, no?

00:03:23

The 10th man, yeah.

00:03:25

Well, no. Sure, whatever. Roster. Just the guys-10th man.

00:03:28

They're brothers, right?

00:03:29

They are They're confusing situation. Actually, they wouldn't be the 10th man because they were on defense or on offense, so they would be the second man.

00:03:36

I mean, was so insistent on getting that qualifier out there that I don't think he heard us both shout their brothers, which is not something that... They're not friends. We thought that was friendship.

00:03:47

Friends are the family you choose.

00:03:50

Mom must be so proud.

00:03:52

I've rarely seen you this indignant over something that I think is pretty silly all in all. Like, yes, Muki Bets could have been hurt. And yes, generally speaking, don't touch the players. Certainly don't pride them open to get a baseball that's all ready and out. I think we can all agree on that. However, they are celebrities and heroes today. Bullshit.

00:04:12

Celebrities and heroes? Are you kidding?

00:04:14

Are you talking about them all? You took three hours talking about these guys.

00:04:17

I'm like, Come on. You referenced the Hawk to a Girl. It's the same celebrity.

00:04:22

She has a top 10 podcast. It's Hawk to a.

00:04:24

It's Pissant celebrity. The idea that these are heroes, the idea that what they did inspired the victory is beyond ludicrous. It's so ridiculous. Greg, you can see the line in the sand, pre-pride and post-pride. Yeah, the word is coincidence. Co-winkie-dink.

00:04:43

Sometimes you need a good 20CB slap to wake you up. Oh, my God. Well, sometimes, Billy, in the 20th century. 20cb, it's a qualify. 21st century, man, it's not a slap, it's just a pride.

00:04:56

Stugatz was enjoying as a baseball fan now. Stugatz is all of a sudden, the guy who tunes in to a World Series game and is delighted by an announcement guessing correctly at the perfect time. So what happened soon after this play is the Yankees blew the entire game open, which is why this play is getting the credit. We have not played the sound that Stugatz says is some of the best sound a baseball broadcaster lives all his life to be around.

00:05:25

In baseball, you have to luck in to a perfect call because you have no idea what's going to happen with the very next swing. But as Volpe is coming up to the plate, bases are loaded. Smoltz and the announcement are talking about, New York kid made a base running mistake earlier in the game that caused him a run. What a great spot he's in right here. A chance to get his hometown team. He was a Yankee fan. He went to the last World Series parade. That's right. When the Yankees won as a nine-year-old, I think, what a great moment this would be for him to make up for the mistake that he had earlier in the game.

00:05:58

He was loaded two out. Cranks the ball, deep left field. Volpe with redemption. I'd also like to point out something that hasn't been addressed yet. If we remember the history of this series correctly, when we were in Los Angeles, a fan of the Dodgers reached into playing territory and got a ball out of fair play and didn't really face this scrutiny. But now all of a sudden, a Dodger is jumping into the stands, borderline assaulting some fans. You hit the person the wrong way. Heaven forbid, heaven to Betsey, and I don't want to say it. I don't want to manifest or speak it into existence. Betsey forbid. You accidentally hit one of those gentlemen in the temple with your baseball glove. It's over. It's over for crossing into the stands. We're not asking the question, should we be jumping into the stands? Where's the netting? I thought that we were going to have some netting here. It stops down the line. Well, no. No, no, no, no, no, hubbub about having netting from home plate to foul pole. And some stadiums have done that. Now, all of a sudden, no netting to protect the fans from players just jumping at them, lunging at them after balls that are rightfully theirs.

00:07:27

At first.

00:07:27

At first. Swinging, mints, wild.

00:07:29

Did we learn nothing from Derek Jeter hitting his face on those seats when he fell into the stance? Nothing?

00:07:36

Billy, last night, you were a part of, and if you want more Billy Gill, you can do so on the Pause up FIU broadcast. Pause up. I didn't realize that we hadn't gotten to the sound yet today of you dominating that broadcast. Finally, some content from that broadcast that we can use on our show. It's a big one, Dan. Which is what I was hoping for long before now. What is this sound that we're about to throw it to?

00:07:58

Well, yeah, thank you, Greg. It was South Kea Field at Pit Bull Stadium. They've made sure to tell us to say South Kea Field a number of times. Good car. Yeah, great car. Anyways, it's a big tilt in C USA yesterday. It was the last of the Tuesday games. We're switching back over to Saturday games moving forward on Conference USA. But both teams, New Mexico State, the Aggies and the FIU Panthers, last night, the Sunblazers, they need this one to stay bowl eligible. It was a battle of a two and five team versus a two and six team. Don't let the records fool you. It was a big one. It was an historic night yesterday. I'm in a rivalry. Yeah, it was. It was an historic night last night. You mentioned that. Well, I'm trying to tell you why. As Eric Rivers, FIU receiver, had 11 receptions for 295 yards and three touch downs, setting a school record by almost 100 yards. Here are some of the highlights from not really the game, just more of shenanigans of mine during the broadcast.

00:08:58

Five wide. We'll get to that. Empty backfield here. Looks like a pass play. It's a designed run.

00:09:03

It was not. It was not. It didn't feel like a gamble.

00:09:09

Fifty-fifty.

00:09:10

Five wide. Fifty % chance of getting that one right.

00:09:13

We got Tony Romo in the booth right now.

00:09:16

I felt really confident with that one, too, man.

00:09:18

He did say it with a lot of pizazz. Second and 10 to 46. Tunnel screen. Rivers shaking the first defender. Following some blockers, Rivers has the record. Out across the 35-yard line. Eric Rivers. The most receiving yards in a game in FIU history, surpassing Tyrese Chambers and Chris Mitchell.

00:09:43

I feel bad. I feel like I ruined your call of history.

00:09:47

It was a nice touch on the side. History, right? That's what you said. Yeah. I think it was good. I think it was good. We said history at the same time. It's radio. We're in sync. It's contributing. Yeah. We're on the same wavelength there.

00:09:58

All right, good. As long as you're not upset, that's all I'm worried about.

00:10:00

Can you believe this guy?

00:10:02

I don't want to contribute to your wine consumption later.

00:10:07

Oh, my. We got a good glass of white ready to go.

00:10:10

Swanky.

00:10:12

What's your favorite candy?

00:10:14

A What's your worst fear?

00:10:19

Failure. Wow. Well, embrace it. We're here. We're winning. Not we, as in the sunblazers. I mean, we, as in AJ's career. What? Sorry. I apologize. Meep.

00:10:35

Shemajadev is on the sweep to the near side.

00:10:40

Just giving you some fuel for your wine later. You know what I mean?

00:10:44

That's 200 He got an eight here in the second. Jenkins throwing deep shot. Rivers is open. Got it. Rivers. Touchdown. It's his third on his school record night. One to remember as a Sunblazer here today.

00:11:00

History. History on top of history. Just steal my pen.

00:11:09

I did not do that. You lost it. It's all good. It's a personal responsibility. Pistol work.

00:11:16

It's in my pocket.
