God bless football, Mike Ye.

00:01:53

God bless football, Stugatz.

00:01:57

Thank you. We are inching close. We're halfway through the season, man. Football is flying by. I say that every year, but every year football flies by. Does it not, Billy?

00:02:06

It does. It feels like it goes faster. What is it about... I mean, this is going to be deep. And by the way, we're presented by Smirnoff. We do game days. Please drink responsibly. The Smirnoff Company, New York, New York. What is it about time that it seems to get faster as you get older? When you were a kid, it dragged on and you're waiting for Christmas and you're waiting for summer vacation or whatever. And it felt like it took forever. And now, I feel like we just had New Year's Eve last week, and here we are, and it's about to be November. What are we doing?

00:02:41

Do you really feel like New Year's was last week? I mean...

00:02:44

New Year's That was a lie. Happy New Year to you. Not so much for New Year's, but I do feel like the fourth of July just happened, right? That feels like it was pretty close.

00:02:54

Yeah.

00:02:55

I was going through my phone because my daughter, when it's bedtime, she'll do anything to not go to bed, and she'll just ask me any little thing. Listen, she'd come as no surprise. I'm a sucker. I'm going to fall for it every time. Whatever my little princess wants, she's going to get. So, yeah, we're going to start looking at pictures on my phone. If that's what she wants to do when I'm supposed to be reading her a bedtime story while my wife is putting my other daughter to sleep, and then my wife will ultimately come out, and then my daughter will be like, It's time for a story. We didn't read a book. She's like, You were supposed to be reading a book. Why didn't you read a book? I'm She wanted to look at pictures on my phone. What am I going to do?

00:03:33

Yeah, they love to stretch it out. They do.

00:03:35

Yeah. We start going through the phone, and I'm like, This was in May? This feels like it just happened.

00:03:42

What?

00:03:44

Yeah.

00:03:45

It's deep.

00:03:47

It really is deep, yes. Does your wife come out? Does she get mad at you because the daughter's... Like your kids know, Hey, if I want stuff, I got to go to Daddy.

00:03:55

That's it. Well, okay.

00:03:57

Because you ruined all the groundwork that she laid. You have I haven't ruined, Billy.

00:04:00

I haven't ruined, right? I will say this, though. My daughter likes to mess with me, and she's only three years old. So I have a long future of this coming up. Yesterday, what she was doing between when she's drinking milk to go to bed and when she's asking me to look at pictures, you know what she was doing to me?

00:04:28

What?

00:04:29

She singing the names of the boys in her class.

00:04:33

Yeah.

00:04:34

Yeah, at three. I was like, You know what? This might be over. I was giving her the reaction she wanted to be like, What? What? What? What? What I'm not making the situation any better because she thinks getting me agitated is fun, so I'll give it to her. But then when my wife comes out and she's like, We need to read a book, she's like, You were supposed to be reading a book with your dad. What have you been doing all this time? I'm like, What do you want me to do? She was singing the names of the boys in her class. Not my fault.

00:05:02

She likes to agitate, Mikey A. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I wonder where she got it from. What do you mean?

00:05:09

Are you saying something bad about my wife?

00:05:11

I'm not saying anything about your wife. I didn't say anything about your We're getting to get out of here. Billy, do we have a daily fantasy game, courtesy of our friends at DraftKings? By the way, Mike Gola is going to join us. Chris Sims is going to join us. Todd McShay is going to join us as well. We have a big weekend coming up, but we do have a fantasy game, We do.

00:05:30

You can go to dkng. Co/sumirinoff to join. $3 buy-in is presented by Sumirinoff, the world's number one vodka. Please drink responsibly. Last week, bounce-back week for me. I finished in the '40s just out of the money. This week is my revenge week. I'm coming for it all this week. Sometimes I say, You know what? I'm going to win this week, but I'm fine. I'm content just finishing in the mid 200s because I want other people in our audience that are playing against us to win. I want to share the wealth. Not this week. I'm coming for all of you, and I will win. I will take you all down, which means I'm going to finish in the 500s.

00:06:04

All right. Mike Golick is going to join us next. We love Golick. Listen, he's a family guy. He's a team guy. He loves our military. Notre Dame plays Navy. Do you guys think that Mike Golic might be able to find a spot in his heart where this story, this undefeated Navy team, is such a great story that Mike would be okay with Notre Dame losing to Navy? No.

00:06:29

No. No.

00:06:29

Okay. No. No. Two definitive nos and a sneeze from Billy. Goaling. Next.

00:06:40

You got more muscular.

00:06:42

I have lost 10 pounds. Have you? Yeah, using my Peloton. I've had the Peloton in my house. My daughter, she wanted me to get a Peloton. I did. She used it a couple of times. Yeah, great endorsement. But once she left to college and the Peloton was just sitting there in my office and it wasn't being used, I said, You know what? I got to use this. And I have lost 10 to 12 pounds, Billy.

00:07:01

I started using Peloton as a bike. Obviously, that's what they're known for. But recently, I discovered all of the other classes that they have. They have a series of weight lifting classes. They have programs, which for me, the program is great because I don't have to think about what I'm doing. Because if not, I just go and I pick a class at random, and I don't know that I'm actually accomplishing anything.

00:07:17

I would like some recommendations on classes because I keep going to the same class. It's the Grateful Dead class, by the way.

00:07:22

You do a four week four program with Emma Lovewell. I would recommend that one. Anyone can do that. Any level starts out easy, and then you work your way up. Then there's a core program two that you can do after core program one, if you want to do that. Yeah, if you graduate.

00:07:36

Wait a second. You have to graduate course one to get to course two, the harder course?

00:07:41

Well, you can start a course two if you want, but I ease my way in. I did course one first. Then you can do some strength classes with Andy. I love a strength class with Andy. It really puts me through it. I get up and I'm like a sweaty mess, and I'm disgusting, and I love it. You know the thing about Peloton, Stugatz? What? Peloton coaches, they walk the walk.

00:07:57

Really? Yeah. Do they talk to talk?

00:07:59

They They have sub-three-hour marathon runner coaches. They have military-trained athlete coaches, former college basketball player coaches, and so many other well-rounded coaches on their team. All this experience really shows in their classes, which are never short of challenging. You can do some resistance band classes. I got some resistance bands lately. You're my teacher. Am I? Yeah. No, I'm not. Well, I just go with the program so then I don't have to think because I don't actually know what I'm doing. Anyways, what's the Mr. Olympia? Is that what it's called? Yes. The one where you go and you're lifting- Tony Atlas. Trying to Yeah. We should talk to Magnus again.

00:08:32

That's Mr. Olympia. Yeah. Yes.

00:08:34

What did I say?

00:08:35

Olympus.

00:08:36

Did I? I don't know. Anyways, find your push. Find your power with Peloton at onepeloton. Com. I love that Golik has somewhat of a relationship with The Rock.

00:09:00

Do you, Mike? Yes, yes, I do.

00:09:03

Really?

00:09:04

Yeah. What relationship do you have with him? Explain the relationship.

00:09:09

We know each other. He's been on the show a couple of times back at ESPN, and I last saw him when the Super Bowl was at Sofi, and he was on the field before the opening kickoff doing a big I get everybody hyped up. And when he came off the field, I was doing sideline for said Super Bowl, and he stopped and we connected eyes, and he stopped and we chatted for a moment. It was when he was starting the XFL back up, and we were talking about that and such. But yeah, I mean, listen, it's not like we have each other on speed dial, which would be nice, by the way.

00:09:56

But you have his number.

00:09:57

I do not have his number, no.

00:09:59

Interesting. Imagine The Rock has Golik on speed dial, and he's just upset that Golik doesn't return the favor. Yeah. That's that way.

00:10:08

Yes, that's it.

00:10:10

Mike, how many times do you get a text or a call from a number that you don't have saved and you just don't respond to it? Because I'm wondering. It's very possible. All the time. Okay, but for me, I know that it's an insurance scam or it's someone that's trying to buy a used car or whatever. For Mike, it's It's very possible that not necessarily The Rock per se, but someone of The Rock's stature is just trying to reach out to him and talk some ball, and he just doesn't have the number saved because we know that Mike's not good about asking for numbers. And then these block of awesomeing friendships and relationships go out to wilt and die because you don't know that The Rock is reaching out to you.

00:10:50

There's only so many times The Rock is going to try you without you picking up, Colin.

00:10:54

Two things. One, if it's a text, they'll explain who they are on the text. Two, if it's a phone call and it's just a number that comes up, I won't answer it. I figured if it's important, they'll leave a message. That's how it works.

00:11:12

Sometimes it comes with a name. What if it says D. Johnson.

00:11:16

I'd probably pick it up. I'd probably give it a shot, knowing it's probably spam and I'll have to hang up on them. But I'll probably give that a shot.

00:11:27

I mean this the nicest way possible, Mike. Rock's not leaving voicemails for you or anyone else. You know what I mean? If he calls and you don't answer, you miss the Rock. He's not saying, Hey, it's Dwayne, call me back. Here's my number.

00:11:39

It would be a complete missed opportunity. But I also don't think Dwyane's calling me. I think it would be one of his people that would be calling me. So at least I would hope anyway.

00:11:51

God bless football, by the way, Mike.

00:11:53

God bless football, Billy.

00:11:55

God bless football, Mike Ye. So you don't get a happy birthday text or anything, and you don't know who it's from. That happens to everybody. I don't ask. I'm embarrassed if someone's saying a nice thing to me, and I don't want to say, Hey, thanks, who are you? What are you doing in that spot?

00:12:10

Well, Billy, what are you doing in that spot? Because if I get a happy birthday text for a number I don't recognize, I respond, Thank you. That's what I did. That's it.

00:12:17

Yes. Same. I just say thank you, but for the rest of my life, I have no idea who that person is.

00:12:22

I say a little thanks, appreciate it, and try and say something general, but still gives the feeling of personal, even though you have no frigging idea who it is. Zero.

00:12:35

I think we should plan for The Rock. If you get birthday text or whatever, you don't know who it is, just be like, Hey, how are you feeling about Russellmania this year? Just ask everyone how they're feeling about Russellmania. Then when the one bites, you know it's The Rock.

00:12:49

That would be it. That would be the number to obviously save them. Somehow, I don't think The Rock and I will be exchanging numbers anytime soon.

00:12:56

That's unfortunate.

00:12:57

Yeah, it is.

00:12:58

Well, he listens, so Well, maybe he'll hear this and reach out to you.

00:13:02

Squandered opportunity, Mike. I mean, I keep telling you, get these guys numbers when you meet them. They like you.

00:13:07

I agree. I'm horrible at it. I've always been horrible at it, and I will continue to be horrible at it.

00:13:14

I think I have a solution for you, Mike, and this is an interesting thing, and I don't mean to name drop here, but I did this with Aaron Shatz. So Aaron Shatz. What a name drop. Not to name drop. I did this with Aaron Shatz.

00:13:26

That's a fine, by the way.

00:13:28

Yeah, I know. I apologize, Aaron.

00:13:29

He dropped it so bad, he had to pick it up again.

00:13:33

Yeah, don't worry. We'll edit that out.

00:13:36

He shats himself. Go ahead.

00:13:37

Here's how I mess this up. Before the Super Bowl, Mike, and you might find this interesting technology is incredible these days, I got this thing called a dot card, and you're probably too big for a dot card. But this is a business card that just has a QR code on the back of it. The person, instead of saying, Hey, give me your number, whatever, they just pull out their phone, they scan it, and then it saves all of their information as a contact in the phone. So you don't even have to ask. You're like, Hey, whatever, they scan it.

00:14:06

That's cool. I'm not going to lie. That's cool. I haven't carried a business card in forever, but that's a very modern technology thing to do, and it's very easy. Because can't you just touch phones and-You can, yes. And get a number? I'd be afraid of what I might get or what I might lose.

00:14:29

That's how phones get a virus. That's how phones get a virus. Mike, so you're worried about what might go from your phone to someone else's phone if you touch phones?

00:14:37

I'm worried that I might lose information. Listen, I wait so long to get a new phone because the transfer of information scares the living hell out of me that I'm going to not get something that I need.

00:14:53

I'll tell you this. Million dollar idea, phone condoms.

00:14:56

Just saying. Oh, wow. Not a bad idea. I like that. Wait, goal is confused. Explain it to him, Mikey, real quick, please.

00:15:03

You want me to explain the goal of what a condom is?

00:15:06

I think I get. I think I get. I just have to hope it doesn't break.

00:15:10

It's the same thing, but a phone. How many kids do you have?

00:15:12

Maybe you don't get it.

00:15:15

I think I understand. Thanks for the explanation, though.

00:15:18

The thing you use for your penis, Mike.

00:15:20

Yes, I've heard of them. I've heard of them.

00:15:24

I'll tell you this. I got this because I was like, Super Bowl. Great networking opportunity. Let me get this, and then I can get numbers, whatever. The only person I did this with, I believe, was Aaron Shatz. Then it was a confusion thing. He's like, How do I save this? I'm like, I don't know, man. You're the first one. We're trying to figure it out on his phone. Then he left, and then I was like, Oh, we should book him on this show before the football season. I was like, Oh, you know what? I never got his contact.

00:15:49

I was going to say, you're just giving your contact. You need the people to have a card, but most people will be too big to have a card like that.

00:15:59

Well, yeah. Also, none of these people actually want my contact, so it's useless. Right. They know why you're reaching out to get them on this show.

00:16:07

Yeah.

00:16:08

It didn't work out.

00:16:10

Aaron Jots, it's more like Aaron Dots. How about that? How about that? You like that, Billy. Billy, we should call Dots and get them on as a sponsor. We should.

00:16:19

Sure. I don't have their number. They have mine.

00:16:23

Nor are you allowed to call. They have mine.

00:16:29

Anyway, Welcome.

00:16:30

Mike, it is a big football weekend. It's a big football weekend for you. What do you imagine the scene is going to be like for Navy and Notre Dame?

00:16:40

Man.

00:16:41

I know.

00:16:41

I mean, wow. With both Army and Navy undefeated, it is scary times because Notre Dame has had a lot of injuries on the defensive side of the ball. Mike and I, actually, on Go, Jo, Go, Go, talked to Blake Horvath the other day. It's so difficult talking to an armed forces person who is going to play your school because you have so much respect for them. After playing Air Force, Army, and Navy. I mean, I would go across the field when I was at Notre Dame, shake their hands, thank them for the service that they're going to do for our country. And you were so respectful of them. And this kids have it a great year, by the way. And oh, by the way, Navy's passing the ball on first and second down, which is something they haven't done. So, yeah, this game worries me. You couple their offense with the injuries on the Notre Dame defense and the lack of possessions that an opponent can get against an army and a Navy means you got to make hay with your possessions. And Notre Dame notoriously comes out slow in games and sometimes gives up the lead.

00:17:58

They were down seven, nothing to Stanford. And with army and navy, and we'll talk about Navy because it's coming up, you're going to be limiting your possessions because they hold on to the ball. So this is tough on the defense because of injuries, and offense has to make hay early. So going to be... I mean, how cool is it, Army and Navy are both undefeated? How wild is it that their game at the end of the year has no bearing on the college College Football Playoff because it's played after the last College Football Playoff, but they could play in the conference championship before the College Football Playoff final rankings. I mean, it's wild.

00:18:44

It is wild, and it's very, very cool. Navy doesn't sweat Notre Dame, Mike. You know this. The game against Notre Dame will be the least important thing done at the Naval Academy the entire week. So they're not sweating Notre Dame at all.

00:18:59

We had the quarterback go through his day, and he even said, and I know, and I've heard it before, that football, they look forward to it. It's an easy part of their day compared to the other training and classes that they have. Football truly is an extracurricular activity for them and one they actually look forward to, to breaking up how difficult their day is.

00:19:21

It's great, Mike. I'll tell you a story. One of the girls that I coached in La Crosse, she went to the Naval Academy. She had scholarship offers, full ride offers from every single College, she wanted to go to Navy. That's a life decision. I'm talking to her one day, and she says, I got to go to shooting practice. I said, Oh, really? You got La Crosse shooting practice right now? She goes, No, Coach, I have a rifle on my shoulder.

00:19:44

It's a different world, man. It's a different world that they choose. I mean, thank God for them. Thank God for the men and women that choose it to do what they do for us. But it's a different world.

00:19:55

Mike, I know you so well. Anyone who knows you knows this, okay? You want Notre Dame to win. But if you're going to lose and not make the play off, you're okay losing to Navy or Army, right? I mean, come on.

00:20:07

If it's going to happen, yeah, I'd be, but I would hate it, obviously. It makes that Northern Illinois loss loom that much larger when you still have Army and Navy. Who would have thought with with USA and Florida State still on the schedule that it's Army and Navy that are the two toughest games on Notre Dame schedule the rest of the Billy, no longer Army and Navy, no longer guys that Notre Dame politely picks up after tackling them very hard.

00:20:36

How about that?

00:20:37

It seems that way. No. Kick them while they're down, guys. It sounds like now, Mike.

00:20:42

Well, we don't want to go that far.

00:20:44

We're going to do that to USA. Well, I wouldn't. Well, thank them for their service, but you guys are trying to ruin their season and their dreams.

00:20:51

Yeah, well, yes, we are. Yes, we are.

00:20:55

Finally.

00:20:56

There it is.

00:20:58

That's competition, baby.

00:21:00

I love it.

00:21:02

Mike, we have a playoff game this week, LSU and Texas A&M.

00:21:06

Yeah, de facto.

00:21:07

Boy, I tell you what, Texas A&M, since their opening loss to Notre Dame, has gone on a run.

00:21:12

Our boy Elko has been great.

00:21:13

Yeah, he really has. And listen, we know LSU always gets great athletes. They lost Perkinson on defense a while ago. Our defense gives up points, but the offense certainly can score points. This is going to be... I mean, The SEC and the Big Ten, the teams that still have to play one another, is really going to... We see the rankings, how they are now. They're so going to change in the next few weeks with who all has to play one another. And how about Alabama, Missouri? Alabama playing for their lot. I mean, they already may be out of it. But you keep thinking there's going to be a two-loss team in the final 12, and Bama is sitting at two losses right now, so they certainly can't afford another one. Missouri.

00:22:00

Same with Missouri, yeah.

00:22:02

Yeah, Missouri started out strong and then petered out a little bit, but still just only the one loss. So, yeah, there's some great matchups this weekend.

00:22:14

There is. Does Illinois have a chance? Illinois is a sneaky good team, a good defense. No chance they're beating Oregon?

00:22:19

I don't think so. Of the two teams that we look at in the Big Ten that we don't normally see in the top 25, Indiana and Illinois, I lean toward Indiana. Playing better, but Indiana, obviously, they still play Ohio State. I think Oregon is hitting all cylinders right now. They started off the season a little shaky, got that big win over Ohio State at home. I just think they're on a roll right now, and I think they'll handle it a way.

00:22:49

If Vanderbilt wins this weekend, which means they will have victories over Texas and Alabama, should they get an automatic bid?

00:22:57

I mean, they should jump so high in the rankings. Yes. I mean, they're sitting at what? 25? I mean, they should be a shooting star if they were to pull off a win over Texas and had beaten Alabama as well. It would be incredible for a team that you just don't think that highly of, and they're playing some excellent ball this year.

00:23:18

They really are. Mike, it's interesting because I was saying after... Kirby Smart went after that Texas game, everyone forgot about us. No one respects us, and I blasted him all week on the joke. You agree. You cannot win two out of three national champion champs and pull out the disrespect card. You can't do it.

00:23:38

Listen, Tom braided did this for years. He found a chip on the shoulder, and that's what you have to do when you're that good. You have to find ways to motivate, find a chip on your shoulder. Because you're right, you sit there and hear, Nobody respects us, this and that. You're like, Who the hell are you talking to? What are you talking about? Same When Tom would say things, you'd be like, Wait, are you kidding me? What are you saying? But it's their way to motivate themselves and motivate their team. So I get it, even though I don't get it.

00:24:12

Mike Golic is with us. Check him out. Go, Joe and Golick, 8:00 to 10:00 every morning on the DraftKings Network, wherever you get your podcast as well. You got a game this weekend, Mike?

00:24:21

I got a game, Dallas at San Francisco. Oh, wow. Yeah, San Francisco, which is one of the mass units this year, and Dallas, which is obviously struggling with their couple of guys out on the defensive side of the ball, but just a struggle fest. I knew Dallas was going to take a step back. They did nothing to handle their running game. But you have Dak, you have CeeDee Lamb, so you know you have some power on offense. And the defense got to pick it up a little bit because, listen, having Micah Parsons out certainly hurts now. He's probably getting close to coming back, but we'll see if it's this week or not. But it's been a tough road for them in San Francisco. My God. I mean, they used to lead every year since Kyle Shanahan has been the coach in yards after the catch. And a lot of that was obviously Christie McCaffrey, Iuk, Debo. They're close to last now in yards after the catch. It has taken such a hit on what made that offense run. But through, sometimes you find a diamond in the rough, Jordan Mason. I mean, look what he's doing.

00:25:34

I mean, running the ball well. Now, he's not that passing threat out of the backfield like Christie McCaffrey is, but still, he's running the ball well.

00:25:42

Is McCarthy coaching for his job?

00:25:46

I mean, if the situation last year, we all thought he was going to be gone, right? I mean, going into the playoffs, Jerry Jones was asked about his Security. And he said, Well, let's wait to see what goes on in the playoffs. And they got smoked about as bad as you can get smoked at home by a Green Bay team.

00:26:10

By a guy playing quarterback for the first time in the playoffs on the road.

00:26:15

And he kept his job. So I don't know what it's going to take. And listen, I would never want anybody to lose their job. I hope everybody keeps their job. But we know it's the reality of the situation that coaches and players lose their jobs. But, man, if he didn't lose it last year, I don't know. You just keep waiting for Jerry Jones to make that move. Everybody keeps waiting to make that move, but it just doesn't happen. And if it didn't happen last year, I don't know what it's going to take.

00:26:46

Mike, is it time? I'd be interested in your thoughts here as a former Philadelphia Eagle. Is it time to back off on nick Seriani?

00:26:54

Well, I mean, you mean the fans?

00:26:57

Mike, just leave him alone. The guys made the play off the first three seasons. They're off to a decent start this year. All everyone does in Philadelphia is criticize the guy. He was a play away from winning the Super Bowl.

00:27:07

Well, that's Philly, by the way. I know. I played most of my career there. You just have to deal with that. But again, they're four and two. Saquon Barkley has proven to be one of the best offseason pickups without question, and certainly put it to his old team. How about sticking the knife in and twisting it when nick Ceriani asks you, You're 13 yards away from your career your high. Do you want to go back out and get it? He's like, Now, let the young kids eat. I mean, that's just God. That's just unreal.

00:27:37

You love that shit, Mike. I know you do.

00:27:40

Saying to leave nick alone, they're not going to. It's Philly. So nick just has to deal with it. You have to deal with the situation there. The best way to deal with it is to win. They were winning last year at 10 and 1, and then it fell apart for them. They just had to win, obviously, throughout the season.

00:27:56

What'd you make of to his decision? Mike, this is going to be interesting It's interesting for you because you're ultimate team guy. Tua coming back and saying the things that he said that he's willing to die while playing this sport, essentially, that he loves the sport, cares about his teammates. All things I think people in that locker room want to hear. It might make people on the outside cringe, but I think his teammates want to hear that. Listen, he loves his teammates. He loves his job, and he wants to be there for them. What did you make of that decision? And his comment.

00:28:25

In this situation, I was always amazed at the analyst, former player saying, Oh, he should retire. He should walk away from the game. And I'm thinking to myself, and I said on our show, why? He's a grown-ass man. He can make his own decision. He can talk with his family. He can talk with whoever is in his support group about what he wants to do. He was cleared by every doctor. Not one doctor told him that, Oh, boy, you're taking a risk. And nobody knows what it'll take to get if and when he gets another concussion. I mean, it's still such a studied thing. It's so different than blowing out your knee or your ankle that you just don't know. He wants to play. Who am I to sit there and say, You should do this or you should do that? He's a grown-ass man to make his own decisions about his own health, about his own life, with his own family and support group. If you're in the locker room, while you're probably concerned about his health, like I said, this is a decision every player gets to make after an injury or whatever.

00:29:33

You get to choose whether you want to keep playing or not, if a team obviously wants you, and they certainly could need him. They're in a horrible position from a backup quarterback position. So from a football standpoint, they really need him. But I said all along, it's his decision. Why is anybody trying to give an opinion on what he should do with the rest of his career? It's his decision and his decision alone.

00:29:57

The only opinion that matters is to You're right. Exactly right. Between him and his family. Yeah. Tarek Hill said he cried. What do you learn that, too? It was coming back. Not tears of concern, tears of joy. Yeah. I bet the way that offense is looked without him, I bet from a football standpoint, I could see him crying tears of joy.

00:30:15

The way they look without him, though, makes you question Mike McDaniel a little bit. Yes, because you've seen other backups. You've seen Malik Willis in Green Bay. You've seen Marcus Mariota in Washington. You've seen other backups step in and be able to carry a team. A couple of years ago, Cooper Rush going four and one when Dak missed five games. And that's what a backup quarterback needs to do, is keep a team's head above water until the starter comes back if it's going to be a few weeks. And that's what didn't happen in Miami. They just fell apart at the position.

00:30:52

We'll get you out of here on this note. Gojo and Golik, 8:00 to 10:00 AM Eastern, every morning on the DraftKings Network, wherever you get your podcast. Also, he'll be on the Dallas 49ers game this Sunday night. Mike, if you're a player walking around the Jets locker room and there is some Yoda of quarterbacks trying to tell you how to win football games, and this is what we need to do, and then he goes out there and he shoots the bet every single Sunday, are you, as a defensive player, starting to get frustrated?

00:31:18

Well, you, as a defensive player, just drowned them out. You're concerned about your side of the ball. You have to understand, most players in the locker room are concerned about their own well-being. And the better they play, the better the team is going to do, if collectively, they all play well. But players are concerned about their own production, how they play, and how they fit on the team. So you can drown out a player. If you don't like what they hear and you hear it constantly, you just drowned it out. You just say, Yeah, that's whoever being whoever. The one thing you don't let it do is you don't let it affect your your play, because you have to be responsible for your own career. I don't mean the stars of the team who are going to be there, because 80% of the players are foot soldiers who can be replaced. So like me, I was concerned about my play. So if I had a star that kept spouting off about something, I would eventually just drown them out and not give a damn, saying, I got to be concerned about what I'm doing on the field for my security.

00:32:29

I I don't care what the star quarterback is saying.

00:32:33

Mike, what did you make of the news that Robert Salah has now joined the packers in an undefined role to help out their offensive role?

00:32:42

He's a coach. You see coaches, he doesn't want to get out of coaching. He's too young still to get out of coaching. Now, at times, you'll see coaches take a year off and maybe do some media or just take a year off and catch their breath. All depends on their situation. I said this about coaches and free agents. Everybody is different. Do you go somewhere for money? Do you go somewhere for geography? Do you go somewhere for family? For a coach, you just want to keep coaching? You want to keep your hand in the business. He didn't want to take a breath. He didn't want to take a year away. He wanted to stay in it. I mean, more power to him.

00:33:20

He'll be a decontinator somewhere. I think he would have stayed away for at least the rest of this season had it not been the packers. It's the ultimate fuck you to Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, how about it? It's okay.

00:33:29

It's so good. I mean, I think there's two stops, right? There's Green Bay or there's Buffalo. And you make sure like, you know what? The Jets, they're not going to win anyways, but we're going to make sure they do not win this division.

00:33:41

Yeah. I mean, listen, he'll be a coordinator in the league again. It's just a matter of who he's with.

00:33:46

Right, Billy. I like the idea of every team that plays the Jets hires him as a consultant. Yeah, for that week.

00:33:51

Weekly consultant. Yeah.

00:33:53

Let's him do the coin toss.

00:33:55

He's the captain, right? Yeah. All Mike, we appreciate it. Enjoy the weekend. Enjoy Notre Dame. Man, I wouldn't want to be the guy cheering for Navy's demise. Yeah, bad look.

00:34:08

Hey, man, it's competition. I love those guys for what they're going to do for us going forward, but I hope we beat the hell out of them in the game.

00:34:16

Okay, right. Listen, win every other battle, just not the one on Saturday, huh?

00:34:21

Oh, no. We need to win the battle. Oh, yeah, for them. For them, it's exactly right. It's exactly right.

00:34:28

We know you need to win the battle, Mike. All right. Have fun the rest of the way, Rooting Against the Arm Forces. We'll talk to you, Mike. God bless football.

00:34:35

God bless football, and stop it, Stu.

00:34:37

It is time for this week's edition of Studio God, presented by DraftKings Sportsbooks. Stay tuned because you'll hear more about DraftKings and all it has to offer throughout the show, DraftKings, the Crown is yours. College football, week nine, season flying by, 3, 8, and 1 a week ago. Whoops. Bad week. Decent season, 38, 33 and 2, though, on the year. Here we go. A big week nine. Boise State minus three and a half at UNLV. Buy it down to three. Take Boise State. They win. They cover. They win by 10 points on the road. Memphis minus 18. Take it on Charlotte. Memphis wins and covers. They win by 21 points. Virginia minus three and a half. Take it on North Carolina. North Carolina is bad. I don't care what Taylor tells me. Virginia wins. They cover the Cavaliers by 10 points at home. East Carolina minus seven, take it on Temple. This is more a bet against Temple than it is on East Carolina. Why would I ever bet East Carolina? Bet against Temple. Buy it down to six and a half. East Carolina wins. They cover East Carolina by 14 points. Big game. Navy, Notre Dame, Navy plus 14 at home to Notre Dame.

00:35:53

I'm taking Navy. They cover, they win the game outright. Navy wins by four points over Notre Dame. Indiana, no one believes in them. They're minus six, take it on Washington. I'm not even certain Indiana believes in Indiana, but I believe in Indiana. I am taking them to win and cover Indiana by 14 points at home over Washington. Illinois, plus 21.5. They're at Oregon. Oregon wins. But the Illini cover Oregon by 10 points at home. Minnesota and Maryland. I'm taking Minnesota here at home. They're minus Minnesota wins by 13 points at home. Miami, minus 21. Take it on Florida State. Buy it down to 20 and a half. That seems ridiculous, but I'm doing it anyway because Miami might win by 21. Even though I have them winning by 28, Miami wins. They cover by four touch stats. They beat the Semitals by 28 points. I'm trying to figure out if BIO can win a road game at UCF. It's a different team where they're not playing in Provo. I'm taking them. Bio is getting points. They are plus three at UCF, buying up to three and a half. Bio wins the game by seven points.

00:37:06

Colorado, minus five and a half. They're home against Cincinnati. Colorado wins. They cover Colorado by 10 points at home. Duke, plus 12, take it on SMU. Smu wins. Duke covers SMU by a field goal. Kansas State minus 10, take it on Kansas. Buy it down to nine and a half. Kansas State wins and covers Kansas State by 17 at home. Nfl, Week 7, 4-2 a week ago. I am on a heater right now. 32-19-1 on the season. That's right. So good. I'm going to say it again. 32-19-1 on the season. How about that? Bengals, minus two and a half at home. They're taking on the Eagles. The Bengals win and cover Bengals by seven points at home. Lions, minus 11 and a half, taken on the Titans. Titans are bad. Lions are really good. I'm Taking the Lions here to win by 21 points at home. They cover the spread. Packers, really good. Minus three and a half at Jacksonville. Really bad. I am buying it down to three. I'm taking the packers. They win the game by 14 points on the road. Bill traveling to Seattle. Seattle, can't figure that team out. Bills, I know they're good.

00:38:21

Whenever I have a team, a matchup of a team I can't really figure out versus a team that I know is good, I take the team that I know is good. How about that? That's some gambling advice. Bill's, buy it down to two and a half. They win, they cover. The Bill's buy 10 points on the road. Bear's minus three at Washington. Washington, sneaky good. Bear's, also sneaky good. Couple of sneaky good teams cutting it up. I don't know if Jaden Daniels is playing. I'm taking the Bills. Buy it down to two and a half. The bears win by 10 points on the road. Chargers, minus seven. Take it on the safe. Saints are awful. Buy it down to six and a half points. Chargers win the game by 10 points at home. Broncos, minus 10. Take it on the Panthers. Buy it down to nine and a half. I can't believe I'm taking the Broncos to cover or spread this big, but I am, and I'm on a heater. The Broncos, by 14 points at home over the Panthers. We wish Andy Dalton a speedy recovery. The Red Rifle, Dallas. Big game. Oh, this brings me back to a time.

00:39:21

Dallas plus 4 at San Francisco. I had taken the Cowboys to cover and win the game outright. Dallas wins by seven points. On the road, Mike McCarthy keeps his job for another week. Those are the pics, everyone. Good luck.

00:41:04

I don't like that. You need some cash? What's going on? I don't like that. Just be rich. Leave the like, pond shopping and stuff like that. The garage sales. The people that need money. Leave that to us. Exactly right. Just like, okay, we get it. Tom braided, you're making 37 million dollars a year broadcasting. Why are you selling your watches at a pond shop or whatever? Get out of here with that.

00:41:26

You got divorced. I mean.

00:41:29

Yeah. Okay.

00:41:30

He gave up half his shit, man. She wants that watch money? Chris since he's listening to this conversation right now, shaking his head. What are you getting upset about?

00:41:42

I tend to agree with Billy. I don't know. What is he doing? He's got a ton of money. He's got more money than ever before, but he's got a ton of attention, and he seems to want that every day, too. So I don't know what it is. It's all crazy. I think some of what he does is definitely beneath him. I will I'm not going to say that.

00:42:00

This is what you do if you're rich like Tom braided, and this is obviously horrible financial advice. If you're rich like Tom braided, you know what you do when you have an excess number of watches? You buy a storage locker, you put it in storage, you forget that you own it. One of your financial people forgets to pay for it. And then a couple of years later on Storage war, someone accidentally finds it, and then they change their lives by selling your $6 million worth of watches.

00:42:23

Or you just give it to your kids. There you go. These watches really make to break your life anyways and just pass them down them, and they can have something that you wore, and that was something that was part of you. That's what would be my thought there. I wouldn't be going, Wait, I own 10% of the raters. I probably have $400 million in the bank. Let me sell a watch to get the extra 5,000 back. That doesn't seem. It seems a little weird.

00:42:50

I don't get that. Billy, why'd you turn this into a TV show we would see on channel 244 on direct TV? Well, no.

00:42:56

That was a thing that happened. There was a show called Storage Wars where and they would just find things. It was like, Oh, this celebrity. It wasn't on Storage Wars, but I saw a thing the other day on TMZ. Basically, if you forget to pay your storage locker for however many months it is, they just go up for auction. So this is a business that people go in, mainly like thrift stores. So they go and they bid that you basically stand at the edge of the storage locker and look in and try to see, Is there something valuable in here? I'm just going to buy this for $250. And then you go through and you're like, holy crap. So one of them was Kanye West a couple of weeks ago or months ago. Just for one of his concert tours where he had, it was a stadium tour, whatever. All of the clothes, all of the blueprints, all of the designs, all of everything for an entire tour was just in some random storage locker in the middle of nowhere, and they forgot to pay it. And now someone has all of these Kanye West things that are just there that now they'll resell and make a ton of money off of.

00:43:57

Hey, Chris, when are we going to have a series together?

00:44:00

There we go.

00:44:02

Good transit. When are you going to buy the $5,000 tickets to go?

00:44:06

No, no, no.

00:44:08

This was not the agreement.

00:44:11

I mean, I thought it was 400 level, man of the People.

00:44:14

No, no, I told you, when I go to Yankees games, I'm bougey. I only sit in the legends when I go to the Yankees game. That's it.

00:44:22

How do you feel about Mikey Ye getting a haircut for the World Series?

00:44:26

Wow, look at that.

00:44:27

I know.

00:44:28

Damn. Well, he had to change the He had to get that ugly jetness off him and go Yankeeville. That's what he had to do. That jet stank on him. He had to get it off of him.

00:44:37

It's been on us for 40 years. Last week, you said you wanted the Dodgers. You got the Dodgers. How you feeling?

00:44:42

I love historic matchups, right? I really do. I'm a sucker for that. I'm a sucker for Yankees, Red Sox, Michigan, Ohio State, whatever, right? I love that old traditional type of stuff.

00:44:56

You have one this Sunday with Dallas and San Francisco.

00:44:59

Exactly. I do. With the Dodgers, we know how talented they are. The Yankees, of course, extremely talented, too. Yeah, this should be fun. I'm going to be pumped Friday night to turn that game on and watch it and enjoy it. It's going to be, hopefully, a classic. Yankees bats are pretty hot. Dodgers are, too. I get that. Seems like Aaron Judges is starting to get hot. Hopefully, all that happens here, and the Yankees can pull one out. We'll see.

00:45:26

How does this work for you? Does Aaron Boon have to win the World Series? No, he doesn't. Or is making it enough?

00:45:31

No, this is good enough. The Dodgers, I think, are better than us. And that's part of the reason I wanted the Dodgers to win, too, because I wanted to be like, Man, the Mets had our number this year. If the Yankees got to play the Mets, everybody expects the Yankees to win. It's a no-win situation. And if they lose, it's like a lifetime of bragging rights that I don't want to hear about from people like you. So I felt like the safer bet was the Dodgers. What?

00:45:57

What is this game? Loser mentality. Smart. That's smart. What What is this? You're going in there- Sometimes you got to hedge.

00:46:02

You should know about that loser mentality. You're a Dolphins fan. You get it. Don't worry.

00:46:09

You're a Giants fan, man.

00:46:12

Yeah. And I don't know. Since me and Billy had been alive. That team's won four Super Bowl's, and his has won four and zero.

00:46:20

Look at the stare he's giving you right now.

00:46:24

Who's going to blink? He went into his storage wars and found his old Dolphins hat.

00:46:30

It's worthless. No one would buy this.

00:46:33

Wait, so game three, Monday, Yankee Stadium, game 4, Tuesday, game 5, Wednesday, all three at Yankee Stadium. Billy, are you prepared to fly up and attend the game with Chris is because I am.

00:46:46

I don't think Chris is actually going to invite us. Are you going to try to go, though, Chris, for you?

00:46:50

I don't even know yet. No. I was made aware of some of the prices for the tickets. People always think like, Oh, you played of the sport, so you must get free tickets. And I'm like, No, none of these teams' owners became billionaires because they give out free tickets. It doesn't matter if it's football or whatever. I pay for the tickets. And Yankees tickets anywhere close, we're talking in the tens of thousands of dollars. And that's what's crazy. So I don't think it's going to be happening. Plus, you got to get five. I got enough on my plate.

00:47:22

Yeah, plus five. Exactly.

00:47:24

I have a few really rich Dodgers fans, friends, and I was hoping They were going to be like, Hey, Sims, I'm flying into town for the game. Do you want to come with me and go to one of the games? I was really looking for a free ride that way. Haven't got that phone call or text yet. When's the last time?

00:47:42

Because as you said, people just assume like, Hey, he's famous. He gets everything for free. How do I ask this politely? When did you stop getting things for free?

00:47:53

Good question. Yeah, that is a good question. When I stopped being the starting quarterback in football or like a starting, That's what's funny. The more money you're making and the more famous you are, the more free you get. It really is that way. It's a shame. It shouldn't be that way. But still, occasionally, I get something here or there, but not a lot. Yeah, nothing like it was in the old days. When I was a quarterback and stuff like that, I could be at a restaurant and like, Oh, somebody picked up your bill, or Hey, somebody wanted to give you tickets to this. They'd love to have you there as a guest. There was more of that when in that type of job or environment or whatever it is. Now, it's not the case. Now, it's like I get calls from family and they're like, Hey, I want to go to this game this weekend, and they don't ever ask to pay, and I pay $1,000 or more than $1,000. I think they think I'm getting it from free. I don't think they really know, but so be it. That's the charity I'm willing to do.

00:48:53

Was that a rude awakening? The first time you were in a restaurant, you're like, All right, getting up to leave.

00:48:58

I'm sure somebody paid for this.

00:49:00

Someone just put their hand on your shoulder.

00:49:02

No, I'm always trying to pay. I don't tip. I overtip. I'm one of those. That's how my dad raised me. I can have a $100 meal, and I'll leave $100 tip. I'm that person. But no, it was never consistent enough where I expected it all the time. Here's one that I will give you. You'll like this, where I did get it all the time. The old 49ers owner, Freddy DiBardello, right? You remember him?

00:49:34

Of course.

00:49:35

Owned the Niners back in their heydays in the '80s and all that. He lived in Tampa, Florida. His family himself, they're great people. I mean, always treated me and my wife couldn't be better. Oh, it's Eddie. I said Freddie. Excuse me.

00:49:51

Yeah, you did say. I was going to correct you. That didn't sound right.

00:49:53

But if he was in a restaurant and I was there, never. Never could pay a bill ever in my life. I'm telling you, it was probably 10 for 10 over my seven or eight years later in Tampa, where he'd be at a restaurant. I was at that restaurant. I'd ask for the bill at the end of the day, and they'd go, No, I'm sorry, sir. Mr. Dibartolo has already paid for that. That was one that was always a given. He was always extremely generous like that.

00:50:18

Chris, since we're here, I'm guessing people still pay for your dad's meals in New York City. I'm just guessing.

00:50:23

He might get it every now and then, but I don't even think that happens all that much anymore either. When we go to dinner in New York City, because I'm usually the ring leader of that, on a Friday night, this is where I'm bougey. Legend seeds the Yankees games. I'm bougey with my hotels. I want a nice hotel. I don't want to step over a bathtub to get in the first shower or an origami experiment with my sheets with 90 different sheets. When I go out on Friday night with my wife or whatever, I want to go to a good place. Usually, those are the places that are like, they're not They're not going to pay for a free meal for Phil Sims or anybody like that.

00:51:02

Right. But if Phil shows up to Yankee Stadium Monday night, he's figured- Phil shows up.

00:51:07

Phil, he's into... They will offer Phil free tickets. I don't know about the World Series, stories. But during the year, the Yankees will go, Hey, Phil wants to come? We'll give you tickets to the game, and that changes things always for sure.

00:51:24

We should be reaching out to Phil.

00:51:26

It seems easy. Yeah, just invite your dad when you want to go to these things.

00:51:28

Well, it really is that way. I mean, literally, sometimes the Yankees text me or call me and they're like, Hey, do you and your dad want to come to the game this weekend? And I'm like, Ah, which I know means like, Oh, front row, free tickets. That sounds great.

00:51:42

We should send them back, the audio of your thoughts on Aaron Boon. I mean-Send the text right...

00:51:47

Look, Chris, track down that number, send the text right now. Be like, Hey, talk to Phil. He's down. He wants to come this week. Plus six.

00:51:54

See if they write you back. The problem is with the game like this, even though Phil's a big deal in New York, they're going to be like, Wait, Phil, it's Dodgers, Yankees, and there's 25 Hollywood stars that have already asked for the tickets, and people that are even bigger than you here in New York that want to come to the game. Sorry, Phil, you're down the checklist a little bit.

00:52:13

But there's only one Exactly right.

00:52:16

There is.

00:52:16

They should have their priorities straight. That's right. Plus, fine.

00:52:19

What happened to Texas? I understand look ahead game, Vanderbilt this week. What happened to Texas last week?

00:52:29

That was so bad. I'm really sad. That was just- I know. I mean, really, honestly, that was a lesson in physicality and toughness. That's what I would say more than anything. That, to me, is what jumped out sitting there watching the game. Texas learned like, Oh, wait, you want to win the national championship? Or you want to play national championship caliber football, the level of physicality has got to go up. I mean, they beat us down. And to the point where in the third and the fourth quarter, it looked like we were afraid to hit them, and they were trying to decapitate us. So, yeah, it was not a good look. They played too deep, like the whole game, and we couldn't run the ball. Disappointing there. I think a little bit of a welcome to the SEC moment. I know we'll bounce back, but yeah, I do think this is a lesson, and they got to get tougher if they want to play Georgia again in the national championship or something like that down the road.

00:53:16

In a strange way, isn't it almost good with the playoff system the way that it is now to have this happen to them during the season?

00:53:21

Yeah, it is. I do think there's some... Because one loss to your point, you're not out of it anymore, right? Where back in the old days, you're like, Oh, shit. Now they might never get to show that they bounced back or got better. So there's some silver lining. They weren't outclassed in the game. I don't want to say that, but they didn't play their best football. And what happens, guys, at Texas, and this happened, and people will tell you this, and I've told people this ever since I was there. It's you're king of Texas when you play football there. There's no pro sports in a huge city like Austin. Most of those kids, their lifelong dream is to go to Texas. They feel like they've made it once they've gotten there. When you get there, and if you're a good player, Quin Ewellers, Chris Sims, whatever, they treat you like you're John Elway or Joe Montana, right? And that can be a bad thing, and especially coming off a win against Oklahoma. And then I can just picture before the game, there was 90 million stars there, and I've been in the locker room in those type of games at that school, and they bring all the stars to the locker room before the game.

00:54:26

It's a total distraction. I guarantee all that happened. Oh, look at this. Look at this. Look at this star. Meet this star. Coming to the locker room, doing all that stuff before the game. Distraction, distraction, distraction. We got our ass kicked because of that distraction.

00:54:42

Interesting. Bft with Mike Florio every day on Peacock The Unbutton podcast, Football Night in America. Chris Sims is with us here. God bless football. We talked about Russell Wilson, Tomlin's decision to go with Russell Wilson last week. It worked out. It got off to a slow start, but it did work out, Chris. That offense looked better. What did you see out of Russ?

00:55:00

I think he just has more of a natural feel to play the quarterback position than Justin Fields. I would say there's that, and then he is a better thrower of the football. I'll sit here and tell you, I didn't think it was time to bench Justin Fields. And from everything I know, it sounds like most of the Steeler organization didn't feel like that was the right move. Mike Tomlin wanted Russell Wilson more than anything. And so they made that switch. And there's a lot to talk about in that game. But what I would say is, yes, some higher quality throws, no doubt about And then the other thing is just when I say feel of like, hey, dropping back and going, man, nothing's really open. Oh, wait, there's George Pickens. He's one on one. Let me put it in a spot where maybe he can get it or nobody else gets it and see what happens. And he made a few plays like that throughout the game where I would go, yeah, Justin Fields in those situations may be reluctant to throw that type of football, or he just looks to run. So I do think it gives him a little bit more versatility in the past game.

00:55:58

I think that's what we can look for more in the anything. We'll see where it goes. But really, the big story is the Jets in that game. I mean, again, the only fucking thing that can beat you is George Pickens. But let's just leave him one on one. And forget against our best corner in football, because we only play Seattle cover three, so he can't match up ever. Let's not get a top five pick and go, Hey, how about cover their best guy? Let's just go, No, you play your side and do that. Oh, okay. They let the one thing that can beat them, beat them. And then, yeah, Aaron Rodgers in his play, that interception before the half was horrible. It goes into, again, his lack of aggressiveness. He double clutched the ball. The guy was open. Then he threw it late and didn't throw it hard. 15 to 6. You're going to go put the game away, and he lets Pittsburgh get all the momentum before the half, and the game was never the same after that.

00:56:48

All right, so Chris, explain to me how this works in the locker room with Aaron Rodgers. First off, I hate that he called Devante Adams the missing piece. No, Aaron, you were the missing piece, not Devante Adams. But how does this in the locker room where a guy is walking around. He's won a Super Bowl. He's a four-time MVP. We get the credentials, we get all of it. But he's walking around saying, Hey, this is how you win. This is what we need to do. And then he's the reason you're losing games on Sunday days. Quincy Williams, Quinnen Williams, guys like that start getting pissed off?

00:57:18

Well, they're not going to get pissed off yet. They're not. Rodgers has got enough in the bank in that department where they're going to hold strong and go, Wait, this guy has overcome these type of situations before. He's saying his first rodeo. I think he's still in a spot here where he gets the benefit of the doubt in the locker room, and there's still confidence behind him. But at the same time, if it doesn't change here in the next three to four weeks, and then all of a sudden we look up in a few weeks, and they're, Oh, damn, it's three and seven or three and eight, and they're not going to the playoffs, that shit is going to get old in a hurry, and they're all going to look at him and be like, Be quiet. You're the reason we are three and eight, and all you do is talk, and you haven't played that well. So that's where... And I got, again, last week with that, and this is what I said when they traded for Devante Adams, I was scared they were going to fall in the same old traps. He was going to go backwards.

00:58:11

Oh, check to the slant, check to the two-yard route, And that's what we saw again last week. He did not play good. There was people open all over the field. Anybody wants to watch my Wednesday podcast that I do Chris Simms on Button? I broke it down. I showed screenshots. He missed a number of plays and a number of open people. He He determines decisions. He takes the easy way out a lot, not playing very good football. He's definitely going to play better if they want to turn this around.

00:58:37

Chris, what did you make of DeAndre Hopkins to the Kansas City Chiefs?

00:58:41

Yeah, I think it's awesome. That's really good. Yeah. I mean, it's good. They needed it. I think they look at it and go, Hey, we're really good, but I don't know if we'll beat the Ravens and some of these other teams that are top quality in football, the lions in the Super Bowl, whatever. Unless we get a receiver, we can depend on a little bit. Xavier worthy is still a gadget guy. He He's not good enough yet to be able to depend on him and being your consistent number one will build the offense around him. He can't play through contact. He's not very physical. He's a little bit of a straightliner. In fact, I don't know if you probably saw last week, one of Mahomes' interceptions down the field where Xavier worthy was bumping with a guy, he fell down, and Mahomes threw the ball and it got intercepted. Hopkins gives them a little bit of a matchup guy Hey, he's one on one. We can throw it, let alone he can be a guy almost like a big slot receiver who can read coverages, work the middle of the field, do all that. I think it's much needed.

00:59:36

Kansas City needed just a little bump on that offensive side of the ball. They're getting better there. They're working this formula of two tight ends, three tight ends. It's not bad, but I think this is an improvement, and they'll need this against the upper-tier teams of football more than anything.

00:59:49

We'll wake up one day, a Sunday in December, and realize all of a sudden that Pacheco is healthy and Rice is back, and all of a sudden they have Hopkins, Rice, Pacheco, and Kelsey.

00:59:58

If that gets to that point, exactly Right. And that's where they can be really dangerous, no doubt. And maybe they can get even Hollywood Brown back early in the playoffs and stuff like that to where now you got that and the guy you talked about being healthy and you get into the playoffs and go, oh, crap. Now they got a good formula and they got their studs back. Watch out.

01:00:15

Yeah. Is Jared Goff the MVP?

01:00:18

He's in that combo. I think you have to put him there.

01:00:21

He's been as good as any quarterback in the history of the league the last four weeks.

01:00:25

Well, yeah. He's not like, get on my back, I'm going to carry you type, right? That's not that. But when he's got a system and you deliver some plays that are there to be had, tight windows, whatever, aggressive decisions, he never misses. One of the things, and I talked about this on my pod yesterday, too, is one of the things I'm big on evaluating quarterbacks is yards left on the field. You can go to some of these grading websites, and they give a quarterback a positive, a plus. He threw the four-yard check down, and I want to go, Wait, there was a guy open down the middle for a 50-yard gain, and we're getting a positive grade because he threw the check down just because he got a completion? I'm big into that. That's how I evaluate college football, everything. Jared Goff never misses those opportunities. Never. Aaron Rodgers checks it down. Jared Goff goes, Nope, he's open. I'm firing it. And that's what makes them dangerous. His mindset, his ability to not blink with people in the pocket collapsing, and then throwing the ball down the football field, they attack on both sides of the ball always.

01:01:28

The coaching in the NFC North, the game planning in the NFC North on both sides of the ball by all four teams is extraordinary. I don't know if I've ever seen a division like this that's got the talent on the field and the coaching like this with every team in the division. Someone else in the MVP conversation is Baker Mayfield, but now he's going to be without Evans or Godwin going forward.

01:01:51

What do you expect that would have been that? That Godwin hurts, man. That Godwin one hurts.

01:01:53

That whole thing hurts, yeah. Oh, it definitely does. I mean, yeah, Baker, that was a shame the other night. When he threw that interception in the end zone. That was a Debbie Downer right there because you were going, Man, this is about to be a shootout. We're about to watch this back and forth. It's going to be 34, 31, whatever it may be. Then, of course, he threw an interception, I think maybe the next drive or the drive after that, and they just couldn't keep pace after that. But Baker's in that combo. But again, as we know, you got to keep winning games. To win the MVP, more times than not, you better be the one or two seed. It seems that way, right? And the Bucaneers, their defense isn't good. And now with the receiver's hurt, that certainly makes me think twice a little bit about them. Big game this week. Them losing those two guys, losing that game, I think that's an emotional Debbie Downer for them this week. I think they're going to lose to Atlanta in a close one this weekend.

01:02:49

Chris, Anthony Richardson, what happened there? Because last season, he came in and we thought, wow, this guy, he's going to be great. And then he got hurt. And Maybe we were blinded by that and assumed, Okay, well, he's hurt. Next year, he's going to take off. I don't think it's a sophomore slump. I think what's going on?

01:03:08

No, this is what it is right now. This is why in my quarterback rankings, I had him somewhere in the lower 20s. Because when you do go back and dive into last year, you go, Oh, man, I didn't realize how many times he was 9 for 21 or 7 for 20 and missed wide open throws and didn't read the field or the coverage the right way. He's feast or famine right now. That's why last year was such a disappointment. He needs to play. He hasn't played enough in college, let alone in the NFL. So there's just little nuances about throwing the football, playing within the pocket, how to see the field that he's just not up to speed with that some of the other quarterbacks in football are. Now, he will make four or five of the damgest five throws you've ever seen in your life, almost every game. But the problem is it It might be five for 25. And you go, Well, damn, those five highlight throws are literally the only five throws he made the whole game. But then that's where- But then that's where- That's where they got to close the gap.

01:04:10

Again, that's where I'm not going to pick them to beat the Houston Texans this weekend. Houston's defense is very good. That Colts defense stinks. Houston should be able to run the ball, throw the ball on them at will. And yeah, the quarterback play is not consistent enough for me to pick them in a game like this.

01:04:27

Mentioning the Texans, C. J. Stroud also, I mean, is it Nico Collins being out? Is this a sophomore slump thing where he's regressed? Are people just making adjustments to him? He's had a bit of a disappointing season for what we were expecting from him also.

01:04:39

Right. I don't disagree there. The Texans have yet to play a full game where I've gone away and gone, They played really good. That was a good football game. You look at their games, look at their wins, their losses, whatever. None of them are like, Oh, that was impressive through and through. There's something missing there. Their defense is a little bit, what I would say, feast famine. They either force a three and out or you go down and score a countdown. There's no in between. Offensively, Billy, they miss Nico Collins. Nico Collins is their star-studded number one guy. And as you heard me say for the last two years, Stefan Diggs is not that guy. When he was in Buffalo last year and even towards the end of the year before that, and right now, he is a number two. And they're hurting because they don't have a number one on the field right now. Tankdell and Stefan Diggs are number And then I think you couple that with a year of people understanding the Bobby Sloak offense. Green Bay was all over some of their past concepts and exposed some of their past protections in the game this week.

01:05:43

I watched that game closely on film. There wasn't much. It wasn't like C. J. Stroud was missing plays or throws Billy, this is where I'll defend him. There wasn't much there. He was either like, Oh, shit, I got to get out of the pocket because I'm under pressure, or it's, Oh, no, nobody's open, and I got to try to maybe fit this ball into a tight window or throw it away. But Green Bay is really good. That's the first thing we got to talk about. But yeah, Houston has not hit on all cylinders, as I like to say a lot of the time at one game yet this year.

01:06:11

Green Bay is really good. Jordan Love is great. What would you make of Robert Salah joining that coaching staff? I mean, the ultimate FU.

01:06:18

Yeah, it's cool. Why not get more brainpower, good ideas? Jeff Hathley is doing a really good job as a D coordinator up there in Green Bay. They're creative. They do different stuff. And now Salah can look at them and go, Hey, do you ever think about doing this when they do this? Or whatever. So I love that. And I know Lafleur and Salah are very close, so I don't think you can ever turn away more good football people in your building. But yeah, Green Bay, man, I'm telling you, they're young, they make a few mistakes, they're learning how to win. But I look at the Green Bay packers as being one of the most talented teams in all of football through and through on both sides of the ball. And I think you'll continue to see that as we go forward.

01:07:03

Not going to surprise you if they're in the Super Bowl. Is that what you're saying?

01:07:06

No, it will not. It will not surprise me or deepen the NFC playoffs. I say this, Green Bay, if you just talk about pure running back running the football, right? I think Green Bay is the best running team in the NFL. They're better than Baltimore. Baltimore are the number one rushing team, statistically, right? But a lot of that is because of Lamar scrambling in his runs. If you just talk about traditional run the ball with the running back, nobody's better than Green Bay.

01:07:31

All right. So since we're there, I want to end with Matthew Stafford. We'll get to that in a second. I'm just going to name some teams. Tell me if you'd be surprised if they made it to the Championship game in their conference, okay? Just based on where they are right now, all right? Sorry, Billy. The Dolphins.

01:07:45

I would be surprised.

01:07:46

I would. Okay. Dolphins Chief's AFC Championship game would surprise you.

01:07:50

I would surprise me. I got to see it from the Dolphins first. I know two is going to make them better this week, but what I've told a few people this week is, let's not forget, the offense didn't look very good the first two weeks with Tua either. I do think football has caught onto that offense a little bit. And because so many teams have taken some of their tricks and their plays, teams are defending what the Dolphins do almost on a weekly basis now. That's the problem when you're awesome, people start to steal from you. But yeah, the Dolphins part of that would surprise me. Yes.

01:08:17

I was going to ask about that real quick, to you guys before you get to the next one. Tua coming back will help, but Tua is not going to solve all the problems that the Dolphins have right now. They're very injured to what you're saying. People have caught onto them. I think this expectation of, well, to his back, everything's perfect again, isn't really going to play out that way.

01:08:34

No, I'm going to pick him to win the game, but I think it's scary this week. But yeah, I think you said it right. Hey, he knows how to run the offense, where to go. They're going to be able to be ultra-aggressive with their shifts in motions again because he can orchestrate and do all that the right way and fake here and fake there and throw the ball, and he's real slick at all that, and that'll make them better. But yeah, to your point, they weren't clicking on all cylinders when he was playing. And of course, too, I got to think he's going to be a little rusty and a little bit in the back of his mind, like, Protect myself because the next concussion I get might be, See you later. I'm out of the NFL. And I don't know how that does it affect your psyche and your play a little on the field.

01:09:14

Yeah. Pittsburgh Steelers.

01:09:16

Yeah. They're one of those teams that usually the way they play as we get towards the playoffs, I root against them not to get in because I'm like, Oh, another boring wild card loss game by the Steelers. Maybe they can change my mind this year.

01:09:29

All right, Jets.

01:09:33

As it stands right now, it would be surprised. I'd be surprised. Ten days ago, I would have been like, I'm not that surprised. But with the way the Bills game went down and then last week, it's like, I got to see a few more of things before I can say, Okay, yeah, I can see them back in that game.

01:09:48

For now, I'll take that flapping sound you made with your mouth. I'll take it. That sounds like the Jets organization right there.

01:09:58

That's tough, man.

01:10:00

Washington.

01:10:02

I wouldn't be shocked. No, that'd be one where I'd put them in there. I wouldn't bet on that, but I would not be shocked if they ended up there.

01:10:09

Dallas?

01:10:11

Totally shocked. I don't think Dallas gets in the playoffs. I'd be shocked if they're in the playoffs.

01:10:15

All right, Billy, you'll ask the next one. But Philly?

01:10:19

I wouldn't be shocked there either. Philly's got to play better, but Philly's team is an all-star team, and the offense has got to play better. The defense seems like it's turning the corner, but the offense has definitely not played a real good game yet this year.

01:10:34

Jaguars.

01:10:36

No.

01:10:37

I didn't ask the question this week.

01:10:40

They're on save your job on a weekly basis watch right now. That's where they are.

01:10:46

All right, two more quick ones. The Chicago bears.

01:10:52

The Championship game, I'd be surprised. I look at the bears and go, I think they're playoff caliber. But to get all the way to that game, that's a different caliber. I don't think... That's a little much for me. In that division, too. Yeah. The NFC North is- The NFC North is- someone's going to get left out, it feels like, of the NFC North, which is a shame because everyone is good in that division this year. I know. But the fact that the West stinks and the East stinks might leave it open to where literally four teams could get in from that division this year. It could change it.

01:11:26

But they could eliminate themselves, right?

01:11:29

No, they could. It's going to be They're going to have to hope teams like the Bucaneers and the Falcons aren't dominant and lose throughout, that the Redskins, or that the Redskins, or the Commanders, excuse me, take advantage of that division, and maybe the Eagles don't get in. And then only one team from the West gets in. That's how it's going to be. But yeah, when they start playing each other, they're certainly going to be self-inflicted to crime on crime there.

01:11:52

Billy, Chicago doesn't play a division game until week 11, and then they play them all in the last seven, eight weeks.

01:12:00

It's incredible.

01:12:00

This one is going to be- Rough run for Bear Down Billy.

01:12:03

They're undefeated since you went to Chicago. We know, Oh, here comes the Bear's hats in. There he is.

01:12:09

Oh, there it is. You look better in Dolphin Blue. I'll say that much.

01:12:14

Last one for you, Cincinnati bangles.

01:12:18

I'm not going to say... I'm not going to give up on the bangles quite yet. Thank you. Again, it ain't looking good, but I do feel like it's going in the right direction. I do think they If they can beat the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend, I worry about them getting steam rolled in the run game a little bit. But if they can just hold down the forward in the run game, I think their offense will move the ball on this Eagles defense. I picked them to win a close one. We'll see where it goes. So no, I wouldn't be shocked if The bangles ended up there. It's not looking great yet, but I'm not giving up on it yet.

01:12:49

All right, we'll get you out here in a second. Pft with Mike Florian every day on Peacock, the Unbutton podcast, Football Night in America as well, the Cowboys and 49ers. What should the Rams do with Matthew Stafford?

01:12:59

I would keep Matthew Stafford. Again, I do. To find a quarterback like that is not easy. He's special that way. I don't think the Rams are real far off. I know this year is not going anywhere, but they got a good young group of nucleus of young guys, I should say. Gosh, if they could trade a Cooper Cup or something like that and get a few assets, have extra money to play with next year, I could see them next This year, having a good draft, signing a few free agents and going, damn, here come the Rams. They're one of the better teams in football. So you'd have to blow me out of the water for me to trade Matthew Stafford right now. I guess that's what I would say.

01:13:43

Well, what if McVay thinks he's getting Sam Darnold back, and Sam Darnold has shown McVay enough where he says, Hey, I can make that guy even better, and he'll be my quarterback for the next 10 years. Would that be enough?

01:13:55

Yeah, that could be. And then you add on, yeah, some draft pics for that because Matthew Stafford, and he's greater than Sam Darnold. I don't think that's a crazy thought. I don't. I don't know how the Rams fan base will feel about that. My big thing is, why would the Vikings want to do that? That's what I don't understand. To me, the Vikings, they're one of the best teams in football. Why would you want to disrupt your locker room, your team, have all this distraction, all that? You went toe to toe with what everybody thinks is the best team in football. In the Detroit Lions. You had a chance to win the game. So I wouldn't abandon that if I were the Vikings organization.

01:14:38

I think the added complication to that, too, right, is that what do you do with JJ McCarthy? Well, yeah. Not what? You bring in a franchise quarterback.

01:14:43

You bring in a franchise quarterback. You bring in a franchise quarterback. Exactly right. There's a lot, too, there that just does not make sense. So, yeah, I don't get that. I feel like my buddy Mike Floria is trying to talk this whole thing into existence. He wants it to happen, but he's like a Vikings fan who he wants the Vikings to win, but yet he always looks as Dr. Doum and has a negative look on things. And I'm like, not sure if he wants his team to fall apart or win. I'm confused by him at times.

01:15:12

Dr. Doum. Tell him to try the Jets on for size. Sims, get out of here. We appreciate it. We'll see you. Listen, tell Big Four plus five, okay? And we'll see you Tuesday night.

01:15:22

Plus five, yeah. We'll get them on these Yankees tickets. Got you. No problem.

01:15:25

Enjoy the weekend, my man. All right, man.

01:15:28

You guys, too. See you later.

01:15:30

We are waiting for Mojo, but I have a lot of people, Billy, ask me where I was last week. I missed something special. I know I missed something special. I felt like I missed something special. What the hell did I miss last week, Billy?

01:15:59

I'm trying to remember, where were you? There was something that was going on that you weren't part of it, but we had- The main show. Yeah, well, we had a special guest. We had Lath come on. Lath is Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelsey and the face of the Pens. And Lath made some pics. But more importantly, I think the update everyone's wondering is last week... Well, Carl is back. Welcome back, Carl. It's been a couple of weeks since I've seen you.

01:16:25

Billy, he's back and his Dodgers are in the World Series. How about that? They are Can't get better than that.

01:16:31

Carl has been hot lately, but last week, Carl did not win the week. The winner of last week was Mojo with a 4-1 record. And K-Func, following his transfer this year, went 1-4. So K-Func is down yet again for the week. And when we get to the standings, I'll let you know that K-Func is now tied with his friend Shayan, with a 400 win percentage on the year.

01:16:53

K-func went one and five last week?

01:16:55

One and four last week, K-Func.

01:16:56

Oh, no, you got to count Florida State in there.

01:16:59

What about Florida State? What about Florida State?

01:17:01

I didn't do that.

01:17:04

Let me explain. Kfunk has the entire group with the hashtag Thank you, KFunk, on it. He made his own hashtag, Florida State is an absolute lock with the hashtag Thank you, KFunk.

01:17:20

And of course, they got rolled by Duke.

01:17:23

Well, that has nothing to do with the show. This is an NFL show.

01:17:26

Did you text the show? Did you text the show?

01:17:30

Mike Yee, that was strictly gambling. I also text the show that I wanted to change my bangles pick the other week. Did we change my bangles pick?

01:17:37

No. No, that's not how that works.

01:17:39

No, but once the pics are made, the pics are made, K-Funk. I mean, what are you doing?

01:17:43

Do not listen to me.

01:17:44

What was the hashtag you did when you wanted to do the bangles pick? Listen to me.

01:17:48

If Florida State played that game 10 times in a row, they'd win eight of them. I don't know if you watched the game, but there's no reason they shouldn't have covered that game.

01:17:58

You're going to be worried about cursing today KFuck. Anyway, I'll get you- Real fast. Yes, KFuck.

01:18:05

We make this show on Wednesday, okay? Between Wednesday and Sunday, the lines move. Some of them move three or four points, okay? When I gamble, I watch the lines, so I change my bets. Obviously on the show, this isn't for money, so I don't care. That's all I'm saying.

01:18:19

You don't care. You're the only one that cares.

01:18:22

Billy, let's do a new start time of Sunday at noon and see if KFuck ever shows up, okay? Okay.

01:18:27

Let me give you a quick update of the standing before we can get to this week's picks because I did account for the one in five, but that does change things, so we're going to have to edit that slightly.

01:18:38

He's the Commissioner, K. Fogg.

01:18:40

I want to hear wins and losses, though.

01:18:42

I'm not in this town. Okay, so Chris Humphers and Detective They're still in first place with a 600 win percentage. They're tied with Brandon Seyler, who made his picks from the the Blackjack table.

01:18:52

He was on a heater.

01:18:54

Carl had a great three and two week, but a down week for him because he was on a stretch of four and one. So Carl has now He's our active leader because the three of them aren't active. Carl is in first place with 583 win percentage. He's 17, 12, and one. Next.

01:19:08

That's good, Carl.

01:19:10

Pretty good. Next is the spread master is having a nice season. He's 19, 14, and 2. He's actually our leader in terms of wins. He's 19, 14, and 2 with a 574 win percentage. Then is where things get a little bit tricky. Then Lath comes in after a two and three week with a 400 win percentage, tied with Cheyenne. Kfunk was there, but I forgot. Oh, also tied with them is Sharebear. Sharebear, congratulations. You're back in the mix of a 400 win percentage.

01:19:41

What's Sharebear's record overall?

01:19:43

It was the same as yours, 13, 20, and 2, but you have that extra FSU law, so you're not 13, 20, and 2.

01:19:48

I'm not taking FSU. I'll take Carl as my defense on this one.

01:19:53

Well, he's busy right now. He's not going to take it. We could ask Carl.

01:19:56

I'm 13, 20, and 2. Okay, what's the order? 13, 21, and 2 now.

01:20:01

Wait, Karl, would like to make a ruling here. Go ahead, Karl. If he put a hashtag on it, he has to eat it. Yeah. Nice, Carl. Make it count. Wait, wait. You do a hashtag, it has to count. Count it. That's it.

01:20:13

Hashtag eat it, K Carl, I said gambling- Hashtag makes all the difference, K-Fox.

01:20:20

Listen, is this your first time to the proceedings here? Billy is the Commissioner. Carl settles all legal disputes, and he just settled that.

01:20:28

Billy and Mikey I have a coup against me. That's not true.

01:20:31

We've been done. You were eliminated after the first week, and we let you continue to come on this show, regardless.

01:20:37

I took the bet for you. I told you, so for now, if I just make random pics, it'll count towards my record.

01:20:44

That's fine.

01:20:44

I'll do it all every week in the chat. I wouldn't do that. Don't do that. Right now, I'm 13, 20, or 2. Keep continuing. 13, 21, or 2. You don't care, you don't care, you don't care. Yeah, you told us you didn't care.

01:20:56

I don't care. I'm still going to win.

01:20:58

Why are you getting so defensive.

01:21:00

I don't care. Karl's right. I mean, you don't care. Billy's right. Why are you getting so defensive?

01:21:06

Gordie, are you in an exercise ball by any chance?

01:21:08

Yes, I actually am. I was also going to ask permission, if it's okay, just for today, not to share my last week's- Okay, that's fine. For my overall percentage right now. I'll especially say, I'm on the Diane's Mendoza line. You can bring me back into the conversation.

01:21:28

You're still above the Mendoza line, and And in terms of baseball, you'd be having a pretty decent season in 2024, but in terms of picking, not so much. So we'll let that one go for this week. Mike Rollis is 17 and 13. He had a nice three and two week. He has a 350 win percentage. Then Gordie's in there somewhere. We don't have to be specific. And then our Blackjack dealer is 0 and 1. So I think you're going to finish above the Blackjack dealer.

01:21:53

He was hot, though. All right. Sharebear, how was your time in Tampa?

01:21:59

Always Good, honestly. Like I said, short, sweet, not much sleep. So I really maximize. Like I said, I like to do these new theory of 23 minute sessions, black tech sessions, 30 minutes in total. But it takes about... It's almost like flying. You got to pre, take your car, get the money. You got to feel out the dealers, see where they're from, see if they're ready to compete or not. I don't want to compete. And we go hard and we stop. Hard stop. And Funk came in on a couple of them, and then we had a little post-meal meeting. It scores a little five-hour hiatus. And I went back to the tables. And it takes a lot of discipline to lead the strip club at 2 hours early just to go compete. But I like that one to three time period with the dealers. They're a lot more accessible.

01:22:49

I know you had some time with the Grunt Brothers and Papa Grunt. Were you able to try to get Papa Grunt to come with you to scores?

01:22:57

I still have not, but I have not had Papa Gronk with me to score. It was probably a good thing, but I did get a chance to go eat the new salad and the sandwiches and the bowls. And KFUN undersold what the restaurant was all about. He just said salad the one time I talked to him, but it was really good. He was a lot better than K-Funks. A lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. I had a great time seeing Rob, Chris, and the whole Gronkowski family.

01:23:27

Are you telling me the Gronkowski's have a salad place?

01:23:32

It's called Green Lane. It's a drive. You remember checkers, the chain checkers, where you have two drive-throughs in a walk-up? It's like that, but it's clean food. It's bowls, it's wraps, it's salad.

01:23:45

Listen, it's very nice of you to promote it and tell everyone how nice it is, but the Gertausky should... No, they should have a drive-through where they just hand you a slab of meat and you need it, and that's it, K. Fung.

01:23:54

Rob was in the drive-through two days this weekend, so we got to go see him. Like Sheriff said, Papa Gronk and them. This new location that just opened up is right next to the 2001 Odyssey, right across the street from Scores and Mons Venus. So I think it was pretty good due diligence on that part.

01:24:12

Okay, Gordie, have you ever been to Scores with Papa Gronk?

01:24:15

I haven't been with Papa Gronk. I've probably been there with Share Bear. I just can't remember the names of the ones that we go to. But the nice thing is now that Greenlane is right there, Healthy Salons and Wraps under $9, We know where to go pregame before we walk into that. And we can even bring some of the lovely people there, some lunch or dinner.

01:24:39

And there is a nice back room, like if you need to get nap, It's like a little pass-out room.

01:24:46

You would agree it's off-brand, though, for the Gronkowski's, correct?

01:24:52

Well, it's on-brand because there are some gentleman's clubs in the same parking lot, so I would consider that on-brand.

01:25:00

I apologize. My apologies. Location is-Location, location, location, Gordie.

01:25:04

And Sherbert forgot to mention, we got kicked out of the high roller room for about 30 minutes for yelling too many. They said we were being too rowdy.

01:25:15

Did you guys go to the game at all? Was that part of the plan or no?

01:25:22

The plan was to go eat. The plan was to go eat at the Steakhouse. We did that. We had tickets to the game, and then we just four five bottles of clots of Zoola later. A couple of steaks, about 30 lollypop chops. We didn't make it.

01:25:37

I actually text Sharebear and I go, Hey, how's the game going? The response back was a photo with a thousand dollar bills all over the ground.

01:25:51

Sharebear is right, though. Once you go to the strip club, it is hard to leave to compete.

01:25:58

It takes I mean, I'm a guy with no discipline. I'll go out on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. But to be able to leave early, I mean, it's impressive. I mean, really, because you think it's costing you 1,000, 1,200 bucks an hour in one. So why not just leave, take that 2,400, now go to the casino. It's free money. You're going to lose it anyway.

01:26:18

You're very disciplined. Yes. No, I'm saying it's very impressive. Wow. It's very impressive. I've never been impressed. Billy, Are we ready? Because I know we have to get a rush. Go ahead, K-Fuck, before we get to the pick. I just have it. That was perfect. All right, so here we go. We're going to pick the games right now. K-fuck got cut off. He's going to be so mad. And Mikey A is fist-bumping. Let's see if we can get all the games in before he gets back. Billy, do you have Mojo's picks?

01:26:54

I do not have Mojo's picks.

01:26:55

So what are we going to do? Should Mike be a pick for Mojo?

01:26:58

We'll catch up with Mojo. Don't worry I'll get the picture. All right, we got you.

01:27:00

We got you. Let's just get started and see what the hell happens here. Eagles at Bengals. Bengals have won a few straight here. Pretty good team. Eagles have also won a couple of straight here. It's in Cincinnati. The Bengals are three-point favorites Carl Douglas, I am starting with you. Go ahead. You know, tough game. I think the Bengals are putting it all together, so give me the Bingoes. I'll give up the points. Okay, let's go to Share Bear. Share Bear, go ahead.

01:27:30

You know, I'm sitting next to a nice little blonde lady here. Where are you from? Philadelphia. So I guess that just what happens. I'll go eagles.

01:27:37

I'll go eagles. Okay. Who does she like?

01:27:39

Exactly. Who does she like?

01:27:43

Eagles. I just met her the other day. So I think it's Philadelphia. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, it's somewhere around there.

01:27:50

What is her name?

01:27:52

The Underdog.

01:27:53

You're the Underdog. Okay. All right. Underdog. So Underdog likes the eagles. Underdog. Okay. Underdog, you're committed He's waiting for the next 14 weeks, just so you know. Okay? Stay in that car for 14 weeks.

01:28:03

The Sharebearer and the Underdog.

01:28:05

There might be a lifetime movie about that, and Lath will be playing Sharebearer.

01:28:10

Oh, boy. Okay. Kfunk is back, of course. Kfunk, go ahead and make your pick.

01:28:16

Yeah, these are some tough games this week. I got to go Burrow at home. I don't think he's going to lose the game. I don't like the spread so much, but I'm going to go with the bangles.

01:28:26

Kfunk, I have a question for you, and it's not related to anything that's going on. I'm just curious. You've promised us for three or four years now, Justin Berlander and Kate Upton, and it's occurred to me this has still not happened. What are we waiting on on that?

01:28:38

First of all, I would bring them on a different segment.

01:28:43

I would not bring them on with these.

01:28:44

Why? Why? Are you embarrassed of your friends? What's the matter? He's a family to you.

01:28:49

I got a coup against me. Mikey A.

01:28:52

Mikey A. It's all Mikey A, bro.

01:28:54

Ever since Lojo came back, Mikey A, he's got something up for me. I don't know what it is. He came to I might roll out the red carpet for him.

01:29:02

#thankyoufunk.

01:29:03

The guy hates me for some reason.

01:29:04

Should we make Underdog's picks? Mojo's picks? Should we do that?

01:29:09

No, no. Underdog is.

01:29:10

We don't need any excuses for Mojo. Dangerous game. All right, he's going opposite you. Who'd you take here?

01:29:18

Bengles.

01:29:18

All right, Bengals. So Mojo has the eagles. Gordie, who are you taking here? Fresh off a five in a week. Gordie, who you got?

01:29:25

I think that's too many. I'm going eagles.

01:29:27

All right. I'm sorry, you think that's what?

01:29:29

I think that's way too many points, and I just landed from Philadelphia. So, yeah. By the way, I went to the Xfinity Center in Philly, outside all the stadiums. Dude, that place was nuts on Sunday.

01:29:45

I tried to set you up, Gordie. Gordie, I tried to set you up. You did. And I'm over your head. And I missed it because Mojo is texting me and Billy that he can't get into the Zoom here. So I mean, I don't know what's going on here. Perfect.

01:29:59

I'm glad I missed it.

01:30:00

Let's get to the second game here. It's Bills at Seahawks. Bills traveling across the country. They have Amari Cooper now. Take it on Gino Smith, who was a jet like 15 years ago. Bills at Seahawks. Seahawks plus three. K-funk, who are you taking?

01:30:17

I never like to go against Josh Allen, but I like the 12th man here. I think it's going to be a good game, so I'm going to take the Seahawks.

01:30:27

Okay, let's go to Underdog, who is a passenger in Share Bear's car. Underdog, who are you taking here?

01:30:33

The Underdog has been to go be one of her friends real quick, so I'm going to have to get her.

01:30:38

Yeah, so Sharebear, who are you taking here? We'll try to kill some time before Underdog gets back.

01:30:42

I'm always a Seattle guy, but you know what? After hanging out on Papa Gronk, I realized they breed them different in Buffalo. I finally realized, you know what? I'm going to go with the Bill. They breed them different up there.

01:30:52

I don't care who you're taking, all right?

01:30:54

Nobody cares.

01:30:56

Mojo is in the house. And here's the thing, fellows. Mojo is It is nine and one over the last two weeks.

01:31:02

And the only reason I'm not 10 and 0 is because my Green Bay packers, who still won the game, missed it by one point.

01:31:11

There's a reason they call your boy the Spreadmaster.

01:31:15

And that's why today, with all you clowns on this show making terrible ass pics, I showed up 29 minutes late, and I'm going to be out of here in under 60 seconds because I'm so good at this.

01:31:29

I'm removing myself from the show.

01:31:32

As the guy who wins every single week, I'm voting myself off the island. And as for my pitch for this week, just give me opposite K-Funks in every single game. It's that simple. It's that easy. Get on my level. I'll see you all next week. All right. We love you, Moja. Thank you for hopping in for 60 seconds. What a I understand you're not wanting to bring Furnace Langer here. Okay, KFunk.

01:32:04

I don't get it.

01:32:06

Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, let's go to Carl Douglas here. Bill is at Seahawks.

01:32:10

You and Billy. No, Mike here. He can...

01:32:13

Oh, Jesus Christ. My God. I'm just kidding.

01:32:18

I love you, KFunk. I love you, Mike here. You don't mess with me.

01:32:21

#loveyou.

01:32:22

Let's go to Carl Douglas, Bills at Seahawks. Seahawks plus three. Kfunk, stop talking. Carl, who are you taking? I'm like Mojo. I love K-Fuck. I'm going with the Seahawks.

01:32:33

Thank you, sir.

01:32:35

Okay. Gordie, who are you taking here?

01:32:37

I went against the Bills and lost. So I got to go back with the Bills. That was silly what I did. Not doing it again.

01:32:45

It was silly. You were five and all, though. Don't worry about it, Cory. Let's go to the next one. Bears at Commanders. Shera Bear, I'm going to start with you here. Bears at Commanders. Good game here, Commanders. Plus two, take it on Williams and the Chicago Bears. Who you got?

01:33:02

Honestly, I've never been a Washington fan, but I got stuck there on my way to New York, I don't know, about a month ago. And this is rather cool casino trend. I didn't realize how amazing of a casino MGM has there in Washington. Had a great time. And I'm going to go Washington all day.

01:33:20

Okay.

01:33:21

Let's go to Carl Douglas here. A Bear at Commanders. Who are you taking, Carl? I went to school in Chicago. Give me the bears. Either choice. That a boy. Well done. Let's go to Gordie. Gordie, who are you taking?

01:33:32

That's tough. Marriottas starting at that, I would go with Chicago.

01:33:38

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Kfuck, who are you taking here?

01:33:40

Yeah, I mean, these are the two teams that I say I would never pick on this show, and I have to pick one now because they're playing each other. So without Jade and I, I can't take Marriottas.

01:33:50

All right, let's go to Cowboys at 49ers. This game brings me back to a time. It really does. Just like the Cowboys and Steelers did, this one brings me back to a time, to the early '80s. It's a great match up. Cowboys at 49ers, 49ers have every wide receiver in the hospital right now. We'll start with Share Bear. Share Bear, who are you taking? San Francisco minus four hosting the Dallas Cowboys.

01:34:13

I'm going with 49ers.

01:34:14

Okay. All right. We lost K-Fuck again. Let's go to Carl Douglas, who has his Dodger hat on. He is a proud Dodger fan. There needs to be a bet between Carl Douglas and Mike EA in the Dodgers-Yankees series. But Carl, we go to you first on Cowboys 49ers. 49ers minus four. I'm from LA. I hate both the Cowboys and the Niners, but I hate the Niners less. Give me the Niners, I'll give up the points. But I hate them both. Okay. You hate them both. I got it. Gordie, who are you taking here?

01:34:42

Dallas is coming off the buy, I believe. I don't know. I think Dax, he's got to flip it around. I think it's going to be a tighter game than we think. So I'm going to go with the Cowboys.

01:34:51

Okay. K-funk, who are you taking?

01:34:54

Yeah, big buy week there. I think that Dauble kid, they need to hand the Rock a lot more. And Zeke, he was falling out. So I think they're going to definitely keep it close. I'll take the Cowboys here.

01:35:06

The Cowboys have Dalvin Cook on their roster. I just learned that today. We're weird. Mike, did you know Dalvin Cook was still floating around the NFL?

01:35:15

Did they joke that?

01:35:16

I thought we ruined him already. Yes, I thought the Jets ruined him. No, but we can't... No. They get better after they leave us. We don't ruin anyone, okay? We make them want it more.

01:35:26

You ruined my picks. The Jets ruined my picks the last two weeks.

01:35:29

You You've ruined your picks the last couple of weeks. Here we go. Giants at Stealers. I'm going to you first. Giants at Stealers, Sharebear. Stealers are six and a half point favorites at home. Take it on the Giants. It's Monday night football. Who you got?

01:35:48

Man, I watched that Stealers game the other night. They look really freaking good.

01:35:51

They did. Yeah.

01:35:53

I'll go with the stealers. I'm going with the stealers. Oh, speak of that. You know what? Underdog just came in. Look at her.

01:35:59

Oh, nice. There she is. Okay.

01:36:03

Thank you. All right.

01:36:04

Ask her who she likes. Sharebear, ask her who she likes in this game.

01:36:08

Who are the Stealers, first thing?

01:36:11

The Giants.

01:36:12

Who are they, the Giants?

01:36:13

The Giants?

01:36:14

She's expert. First of the Giants. Yes.

01:36:16

I'll pick the dealers. They have to win by six and a half, underdog.

01:36:21

Six and a half, underdog.

01:36:22

She knew that. She already knew that.

01:36:24

Underdog, stay right where you are. Do not move. Stay right there. 49ers minus four. Take it on the Cowboys. Who do you have?

01:36:32

Oh, the Cowboys.

01:36:34

You're required to do that. Bear's at Commanders, Underdog. Bear's at Commanders. Washington is plus two at home.

01:36:43

Oh, Washington.

01:36:45

Washington. Good. I like. Yes, you're quick. You're efficient. I like this.

01:36:49

Underdog, we don't know if Jaden Daniels is playing. I don't know if that changes the pick for you.

01:36:54

I don't know him.

01:36:55

Okay, don't worry.

01:36:56

Perfect. Underdog, one more. Buffalo at Seattle, Underdog, who do you have here? Seattle is getting three points at home.

01:37:07

Seattle.

01:37:09

All right, Shera, get out of here. We appreciate it. Say thanks to Underdog for us.

01:37:12

Hey, great time. Bye-bye. See you next week.

01:37:15

Yes, yes, wow. I love you.

01:37:18

Mikey, I like what you're doing. Hey, I like this side of you. See you, Billy.

01:37:22

See you soon. What's the other side?

01:37:25

Is there a more mysterious person in the Zoom than Sharebear?

01:37:30

I still don't know what he does.

01:37:32

I don't know what KFunk does. And we've had one for five years.

01:37:37

Who chose the Giants Stealers game? Just Underdog and Sharebear?

01:37:41

Underdog and Sharebear, yeah.

01:37:42

Oh, God. Let's go to Giants and Stealers. Let's go to KFunk here. Stealers are six and a half point favorites. I can't wait to have Underdog back next week. Stealers minus six and a half at home. Who are you taking here?

01:37:53

I got cut off early. I just need 60 seconds here. To tell a quick story. I I got to hang out with the Gronkowski's this week. You're going to like this story. So I was talking to Chris for a while. Chris is like, Man, I missed the show, et cetera. He said he had a huge ice shaker deal, and he was trying to land the deal. I think it was with the Navy or the Marines or the Air Force. One of the armed forces. Huge deal. They're like, We need Chris Gronkowski on this call. So he's freaking out. He's like, I got to be on the call. He gets on the call and the lady's like, The first thing she says is, My husband loves God He was like, I'm not going to get this football. When are you coming back?

01:38:35

It was worth it. And it was worth it. And under 60 seconds.

01:38:39

And they got the deal. And I told him, so I know Moja is not on, so I'm going to get his schedule. We're not going to tell Mojo, but we're going to bring him back on to mess with Mojo here.

01:38:48

What I heard was a commission situation.

01:38:51

Yeah, that's what I heard, too. That was a good one, right? Yes.

01:38:59

From now From now on, that's the bar for your stories. Correct.

01:39:04

Yes. And the length of time you talk at one time. Exactly.

01:39:08

On that note, give me the giant.

01:39:11

Well, look at you. You have never been better, K-Funk. Look at that. Amazing. Let's go to Gordie. Giants and Steelers. Steelers minus six and a half. Gordie, who are you taking?

01:39:23

I can't take the Giants. They're awful. They haven't scored in two years at home. A countdown. What? Danny Dines. They're not at home. They're not at home. So on the road, they're never going to score a countdown versus fits defense. I'm going on fit all day.

01:39:40

I like that. Carl Douglas, who are you taking here? My wife and her whole family from Pittsburgh. I did not take them last week. I'm taking them this week. All right. I like it. I don't need to ask you who you're taking in the World Series. I know the answer to that. Carl has the LA Dodgers. Correct. Okay. Mikey A.

01:39:55

Mikey A has one pick.

01:39:57

Mikey A has. Well, he has the Yankees, but he has a pick This is a bonus pick. So Gordie, who you take in World Series? Yankees, Dodgers.

01:40:02

Well, since I'm from New York, Buffalo, I got to go with the Yankees.

01:40:08

Okay. Yes, Buffalo is 17 hours away from New York City. Almost the same distance LA. I actually think Karl is closer to New York than you are. I'm not going to go switch. That's true. All right. But you're taking the Yankees, yes?

01:40:26

Yeah, I'm going to go with them. I actually think the Dodgers are going to win, but I I want to see the Yankees win.

01:40:31

Okay, K. Fuck, who are you taking here?

01:40:33

I'm from New York, too. I'm from Syracuse. I'm flying up for game four to go to the game, but I am taking the Dodgers, and I wouldn't be surprised if Shohe makes a little appearance out of the bullpen, too.

01:40:46

Wow. Look at you. Breaking some news. Who are you going? With Java?

01:40:50

No, Java is going to be doing something else, but I have no. I have tickets through someone else.

01:40:56

Berlander? Wow.

01:40:58

I get It's all the time, you guys.

01:41:01

Kate Upton?

01:41:02

Something like that. All right.

01:41:04

Are they coming on next week? Have you reached out to them?

01:41:08

We're working on it. We're working on things.

01:41:10

How about this, gay funk? If Mojo beats you again, then they come on next week.

01:41:16

I don't think that's how it works.

01:41:18

Well, Moja didn't even make his pick. You're literally beating yourself.

01:41:20

I know. Obviously, I'm not on a hot street right now, so I'm not very confident with my pick. This is the worst three-game stretch I've had.

01:41:27

Okay, why don't we do this? We still have 20 weeks.

01:41:29

You still have 20 weeks left, at least, counting in playouts.

01:41:32

Hold on a second. Hold on. Let me make you an offer and see if you want to accept this offer. Since you're not confident in your picks, I'd like to make you an offer. I'd like to. I'd like to make you give you the opportunity to do opposite all of your pics right now, and then Mojo will get your actual pics to see if this gets you back on track.

01:41:51

That will never work, because if I do do that, then I'm going to have a terrible week. If I don't, whenever you change your pics, it's not good.

01:41:59

I'm giving you the offer to do opposite all of your pics right now, since you're not confident in them, and then Mojo gets your pics and you get the opposite of yours.

01:42:08

I'm going to ride my pics and give Mojo the Yankees, too, while you're at it. Make sure you did that.

01:42:13

Gordie, anything to promote on the way out here?

01:42:15

Oh, yeah. I have to promote Green Lane being in the same parking lot as all the gentlemen's clubs in Tampa. Under $9, Salads and Wraps, Green Lane. We have three locations throughout Tampa, Saint Pete, so go check Check it out.

01:42:31

You never know, Rob Gronkowski might be handing you the meal in the drive through. He does that. That is the true statement.

01:42:37

We did do that and work the drive through three weeks ago.

01:42:40

If you live in Tampa or if you're going through Tampa and you see a strip club, the place is right next to the strip club. That's how you call it. It's bright green.

01:42:47

It is bright green. Right.

01:42:49

Okay. Carl Douglas, promote that big, badass, beautiful law firm of yours. Douglas takes law. If you leave a strip club in LA, you need me to give me a call.

01:43:00

You'll be happy for me next week. I love you, Carl.

01:43:03

I love you, buddy.

01:43:04

If you don't want a salad or wrap, you might need an attorney. Who knows? Who knows?

01:43:09

Wrapping up.

01:43:10

Hey, look at you, Gordie. Speaking of wrapping it up, gentlemen, good luck this week. We will talk to you next week. Thank you.
