Uh, first big headline, big talk of the town: Senate panel votes 8-5 to hold Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress. Um, so this just came out this morning, all right? Chairman Rand Paul out of Kentucky announced the 8-5 committee vote on Thursday morning. In all caps post, Paul wrote, quote, passed by Republicans on behalf of the millions of Americans and their families still affected years after the COVID pandemic, the resolution to hold Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress has passed out of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee by a vote of 8-5. Paul explained, prior to the vote, the lawmakers were voting on whether a witness who has received the benefit of a sweeping federal pardon— as we know, he pled the Fifth 111 times during his, uh, his hearing— can be ordered by this committee to answer the questions and then defy that order without any consequence.

And so that happened. Now they have a very interesting strategy that they're rolling with this, so They passed, uh, they, they did, you know, hold him in contempt. And typically what would happen is that they send that to the full Senate body to then vote on it, but that's not what they're doing. They're sending this straight to the DOJ, um, and this move is apparently pissing off some, some, uh, quite a few people. But the key difference here is that with the plan to skip the Senate vote, uh, and to send it a criminal referral straight to the Justice Department, Vice President J.D. Vance, the president of the Senate, would have to still certify the resolution, um, and refer it to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. Now, this could make it a lot easier to prosecute him, but the question comes down is, would Vance do it at all? Um, I'm not sure. I don't think he would. Um, now, the reason I say I don't think he was— just, I've never felt it. I don't, I don't think that this is— I don't think there's— I don't want people to get their hopes up here.

You know what I'm saying? Like, don't get all fucking like celebratory for it.

Well, how could we, right? Okay. Every single thing that should have been done hasn't been done. Every single promise that's been made hasn't been kept. These guys come out when everything gets hot, they say a couple things to appease everybody, and then nothing ever happens. Okay. And nothing ever happens because they don't want anything to happen. And then the other reason nothing happens is because everybody says nothing's going to happen instead of standing up and demanding that some shit fucking happen. If we collectively stood on our fucking line and said, we demand you to do these things, they will do it. And that's what instills the fear of the people in the government, which is what needs to happen.

That is the check and balance.

This idea of everybody on the nothing's going to happen, nothing's going to happen, nothing's going to happen. Going to happen because your bitch ass keeps saying nothing's going to happen. We need to collectively demand that things happen, then things have a higher chance of happening. And if they don't happen, we need to get louder. And if they still don't happen, we need to figure out how to force it. That is how this works. It is written into our founding documents. So fuck, dude.

If he was really about what the fuck he says he's about on these little podcast tours that he does, he would be forcing Trump to do things to actually keep the promises that he made on the election trail, which is why most of the people voted for him. Now, Anthony Fauci's, uh, lawyer, uh, made a comment on this. Uh, he said, quote, on advice of his counsel, he's gonna have to—

he did come out though, responded to the vote today saying in part, quote, today's partisan committee vote is a crude political stunt intended to punish Dr. Fauci for exercising his constitutional rights. The Senate should reject Senator Paul's meritless and politically motivated contempt resolution.

That's untrue. When you are— when you have a pardon, the Fifth Amendment doesn't apply to you.

Who was he— he was texting, he was emailing, he was calling, and they just received a physical, uh, forensic copy of his cell phone. Uh, the Department of Health and Human Services handed over the device data to the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. The development follows the release of Fauci's personal journals after HHS turned them over to Congress. Johnson's office said the cell phone data dates back to Fauci's tenure as head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Now, the device is now overseen by Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has long accused Fauci of protecting the pharmaceutical industry and undermining individual freedoms. Now, this is interesting. This is interesting, and this is why I feel like we've been bamboozled here, right? Uh, because yesterday Yesterday morning, actually, it comes out. Uh, this is a CNN headline: Dr. Erica Schwartz confirmed as CDC's first official director in a year, uh, where the U.S. Senate voted 51 to 44, uh, to confirm Dr. Erica Schwartz.

Right now, she has a long history. She was a former Deputy Surgeon General and retired U.S. Coast Guard officer. Um, She's worked in the clinical field. I mean, she has a nice little, little, uh, little rap sheet. This is Dr. Erica Schwartz here.

Oh wait, hold on. Read that last part. Was nominated for the job in April and is the first Black woman to serve as CDC director. Okay. Again, the first, not the most, not the best for the job. So the White House on Wednesday released declassified FBI memos showing the Bureau investigated whether President Donald Trump's firing of James Comey was tied to Russia under the oddly spelled codename Oxford Comma, fueling speculation— that's comma, uh, Oxford Comma— fueling speculation that the misspelling was intentional. Former acting, uh, Assistant Attorney General Jeff Clark alleged the code name was deliberately altered to make records of the investigation harder to find. And that was directly out of an FBI memo dated May 16, 2017. Um, you know, we talk about the deep state a lot, right? And I believe it definitely runs deep in our three-letter agencies. But this declassification piece gets a little weird because, you know, they allow to get out what they want to get out and what they want to come out as, like breadcrumbs almost. Um, and Donald Trump's pissed about this. He was adamant, uh, that the US has massive amounts of munitions in its arsenal and vowed to hunt down leakers who are anonymously sounding the alarms about America's stash of firepower. President's condemnation followed a Washington Post report that he lashed out at War Secretary Pete Hegseth during a Camp David cabinet meeting last week, claiming he had been misled about the state of America's arms stockpile. Okay, um, here's a report. Let's check it out. Like, uh, there have been several media stories suggesting that the war in Iran has taken a significant toll on the level of munitions and ammunition that is available to the United States now around the world. This, I understand, is a source of frustration for Donald Trump.

He is absolutely determined he has enough ammunition to be able to protect US forces around the world.

Yes, he's said so on his Truth Media platform, very vociferously backed up as well by his press secretary. But this follows reports, unsourced, by numerous numerous media that there is a reduction in the US stockpile, that it is a matter of concern. But once again, the president denies it completely and he refers to an inverted a leaker who is passing false information to the media. The leaker, he says, will be found. Meanwhile, in response to the reports that there was an argument between the Defense Secretary and President Trump, the Defense Secretary himself reportedly blamed it on his deputy.

There was a disturbing incident that played out on Twitter, on X, that shed some light, I think, on how airlines are using surveillance pricing in real time right in front of us. I think I've got the relevant exchange over my shoulder here. You have an X user who in April— this is April of this year— posted that he had seen a $230 price increase in one day when he was booking travel for a funeral on JetBlue. To $230 price increase. They're going to figure out how they can rip you off one person at a time. They're not going to charge you the same fare they charge your neighbor. They're not going to charge you the same fare as the guy sitting next to you in the seat. They're going to figure out how they can bilk you out of every dime they're willing to pay every time you step on an airline. And it's not just going to be them. It's going to be the grocery stores and everybody else until we figure out how to bring transparency, how to bring honesty and some protections for the American consumer.
