This Pardon My Take episode runs through every Week 8 NFL game from Sunday, October 2025, with the hosts trading reactions to each result. They discuss the Lions' win over the Vikings and the blitz-heavy game plans that shaped it, the Steelers' sweep of the Browns, and the Bills' win over a Ravens team missing its starting quarterback.
The show also covers the Bengals and Titans shootout, the Cowboys' late collapse against the Cardinals, the Buccaneers' rain-soaked shutout of the Falcons, and the Broncos' goal-line stand against the Chiefs. Along the way listeners hear debates about coaching decisions, the NFC East race, and the trade market, presented as the hosts' opinions rather than settled facts.

AWM.
Barnum and Minton.
Yeah.
Barnum and Minton.
Welcome to Part of My Take presented by DraftKings. The crown is yours. Today is Monday, November 2nd, week 8.
What?
What? In Buffalo, where Lamar Jackson made his return— sorry, Snoop Huntley made his return— sorry, it was Joe Fagnano from, from, from UConn. Yes, it was third-string quarterback Joe Fagnano, Nut November, in the game, and he struggled to see men downfield. But we will retain his bust accusation Until we see more. We know Halloween is over, but QB Squash Allen was playing out of his gourd on Sunday, finding Dalton Pumpkin Cade for a score. And the Ravens defense was left without answers after Roquan Smith tried to turn Josh Allen into Ichabod Crane on the goal line. And the season from hell continues in Baltimore as fans are saying, Fag no— Fag no means no. to watching them play more football. No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills. Bills 36, Ravens 10. Whoop whoop!
And the Cleveland Browns make the trip to Western Pennsylvania to do something that they haven't done in over 30 years. No, not give a quarterback an extension. Sweep the Steelers in the regular season. And Mike Tirico Dowdle was looking Italian, letting his hands do the talking Carrying the ball to the house like he still shared it with his mother. And meanwhile, Deshaun Combs Watson has been a bad boy in the past, which seems to embrace his new job as gay manager.
Did you say gay manager or game manager, Boom? Yes!
But today was all Steelers as Darnell George Washington took the powder off his wig and put it on his donut, where, in a touching tribute to Deshaun Watson, he was a big load and his detractors somehow couldn't bring him down. Aaron Glenn Rodgers might have some interesting observations about the Jets, but the Steelers' beams appear strong as ever, nearly building 7 yards per carry. The Pittsburgh D-line sacked the Browns 8 times today, leaving Steelers fans acting like Lizzo's mom celebrating her big queen. Steelers 27, Browns 6.
We now head to sunny New Jersey. Memes.
In New Jersey, it was a shootout in MetLife as Joe Kirk was finding holes in the Jets defense like they were his cousins. The Raiders tight ends had a day as Brockem Sockem Bowers, more fun than a pillow fight, and Michael Myers said, yeah baby, as nobody was covering them. The Raiders were asking for Adonai Mitch, cut it out, as he went for 7 catches, 142 yards, and a touchdown. Mary Kayton, Ashton Gente, and Mike Washington— Washington, damn, Washington— finished the job and left the Jets with no time on the clock for a comeback. As for Aaron Glenn, tape scout, he's still somehow coaching. Raiders 38, Jets 33.
Thanks, Memes! We now head to a very rainy Florida with Zach. In Tampa, Michael J.
Fox Penix wishes he could go back to the past because his future first half is full of nothing but picks. Alex Cooper-Analozone had Penix calling him daddy with the back-to-back interceptions, leaving the Falcons fans in attendance extremely unwell. Shortly after, Michael Jackson Penix began starting with the man in the mirror. Oh yeah. The fans can ask him to change his ways.
2 more interceptions, couldn't be any clearer.
If you want to put the Falcons in a better place, take a look at the bench and make a change.
Also in this game, Baker's dozen Mayfield may have dropped the donut on the day, passing for 0 yards and for 0 completions, but he was able to hand it off to Aunt Becky Irving, who rushed into the end zone through a full house of defenders, the milkman and the paperboy. That's 6 points added to the bottom of your screen during this noon slate game. No evening TV. And if we're talking uprights, please, Chase McLaughlin was hitting high speeds from below the knees as Tampa Bay's leading scorer on the day. You have the right to remain scoreless. Any 4th down in field goal range will be used against you in the court of the NFC South. If you cannot afford a special teams stop, one will not be provided to you. With these rights in mind, do you wish to hold this L? Atlanta 0, Tampa 16. Thank you, Zach. In Cincinnati, where the bottom-dweller Titans saw Lam Ward come out of his shell and show some muscle as he went deep over and over for 300 yards, and he and Tony Pollard-Green stuffed the end zone in a points fiesta. Joe Burrow, row, row your boat, almost capsized the Bengals on a few different occasions, throwing 3 picks in the game.
But these Bengals are a bunch of dogs, and in the second half, Burrow found his groove, rolling down the street Smokin' Indo, sippin' on Higgins and juice as he found Tee for 2 scores. And when he wasn't— when he wasn't open, the Bengals offense still lives in luxury as Ja'Marr Dell Lago Chase found the end zone as well. In overtime, he called his own number as Bengals fans screamed, we did it, Joe! And Cincinnati holds off the Titans 43-36.
What? Ruff!
We go to Arlington, Texas, as Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys was a matchup of AC/DC. And backin' Dak, he took a sack. Under stress, the fans won't be back. The Cowboys had an early lead behind Flournoy, who was a Ryan Stone Cowboy. But they've heard this song before, as Gardner Minshew been gone. Yeah, yeah, the Cardinals win for the 3rd time. If Minshew fits, he comes in for Jacoby Brissett, who led a low and slow offense before getting pulled out to rest. And Minshew came in and unlocked Tyler Allgeier, who is very comfortable representing the desert. Michael Rebel Wilson is on those GLP-1s. Gardner leads Prescott by 1.
It's a whap whap!
Oh no!
Chad Epstein-Ryland should have been released a long time ago after that kick. But it's okay, he made the last one, so he'll probably not ever be released ever. Cardinals 33, Cowboys 30.
We head back down to Florida where Hank was there for Dolphins-Patriots.
In Miami, where it was pouring rain and had Mike Paul Rabel—
Vrabel looking like a wet water dog.
In the second quarter, Malik Denzel Washington said, man gotta be fine, fins gotta be the fins. After catching a TD pass from Malik—
what you talking about, Willis?—
to put the Dolphins up 13-3 at the half.
In the 3rd quarter, Kyle Williams Wallace said, all men die, but not all men live.
That's why I dropped the ball in the end zone to make people think the pass was incomplete. It wasn't, and the Patriots cut the lead to 3.
Then back in the red zone, Drake Maye handed one off to Rhamondre Stevenson.
What?
What?
What?
What?
No, he didn't. He keeps it himself to give the Pats a lead. And in the 4th quarter, he connected with Pop Doug Douglas, and the Patriots go marching in Miami, 24-19.
Thanks, Hank. We head out west to sunny California where Max is on the scene.
We head over, we head over to LA where Dan McDaniel was back at it again with the shitty offense, and Justin Timberlake Herbert was saying I'm bringing picksies back.
Yeah.
I love to throw it to defensive backs.
Yep.
And coach thinks I'm special and I think he's on crack.
Yeah.
I throw a pick or I, or I'll take a sack.
Yep.
It was also a slow start for the Colts. It was also a slow start for the Rams until Byron Williams said, sup baby? Take me to the end zone, Ayo, to deliver the game's first touchdown right before half. But then it was all, all Rams led by Poopin' Nakua, who was shitting on the Chargers defense, finishing the game with 11 catches and a TD. Rams 24, Chargers 9.
Thanks, Max. We finish in Mile High where Emmitt Ernie Johnson was TNT as he caught a 73-yard touchdown pass from Shaqtrick Mahomes and jetted down the sideline, making the Broncos defense want to retire. In the first half, and it looked like the Broncos were going on life support after Mahomes found Dr. Noah Meredith Gray in the end zone, dropping his anatomy on the donkey secondary. I actually never watched that show, Teach, but I know chicks like it, so— But they forgot about 4th quarter Bo as everybody was answering, who is that tight end? As Nate Adken Jennings put the game back in jeopardy and Bo took them back down the field Telling the restless crowd, you enjoy myself, as he found Jonah Cole. Man, God, shit. Watch your feet, he drive me to frenzy. Off to another Broncos victory. Broncos 28, Chiefs 24. And that was our Week 8 in the NFL. The Fastest 2 Minutes brought to you by Chevy. We'll give you some updates As we go, we don't have any more undefeated teams anymore. So pop, what's the— do we have a champagne pop sound you can play for us, Max? Yeah, I used to always love when Chris Berman would do that. The '72 Dolphins.
Mercury Morris, RIP.
Pop that champagne.
I saw a picture of Larry Zonka today with a nice cigar, healthy cigar, glass of champagne.
Yeah.
It's, uh—
The Vikings have lost.
They love to talk. They love to remind people about the '72 season.
Yes.
And I would too.
Yes.
If it happened to me, I would do the same thing.
All right, here we go. Ready? Hit it. There it is.
That's pretty good.
That's it. That's the Dolphins right there. So let's start there. By the way, the craziest part about the Vikings losing today is that I think JJ McCarthy has the longest active winning streak for a quarterback with 5 straight.
That is kind of crazy.
Yes.
Wait, what do we pop when a team finally— when the Chargers finally win a game?
Uh, I think you flush a toilet.
Do the Hugh Jackson.
Yeah.
Gets up from the shitter.
Do the automatic flush. Yeah. Uh, all right. So let's start with that. Vikings, uh, Lions, Lions 19, Vikings 15. Turns out, uh, I want— I don't want to say that the Lions figured out the Vikings defense because the Vikings defense did hold a very good Lions offense to 19 points and frustrated them for the majority of the game. But the one thing that could maybe kill a blitz is Jahmyr Gibbs being absolutely sensational. And that was what happened in this game because it was a tight game. It was a close game. And then at the end of the game, uh, the, the Lions ran 11 of their last 13 final plays were run plays. I think mixed in there was the Jamo touchdown and Jahmyr Gibbs was phenomenal. 153 yards, touchdown. He's an absolute beast. I can't— like, I— you remember the, um, the tweet that was going— that goes viral when it was like Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout both you know, did something that's never been done before. The Angels lose 11-3. That's Jahmyr Gibbs, except the Lions win because Jahmyr Gibbs, uh, he's the only— the 5th guy ever to have 1,000 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns in the first 7 games of a season.
Yeah.
Uh, joining, uh, Christian McCaffrey, Edron James, Dickerson, Jim Brown. Pretty good company. He's got 1,058 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns through 7 games. He is an absolute monster. Every single week it feels like he breaks some type of record. And that was like the story because he was the hammer at the end of the game. And also, by the way, uh, Vakai, their, their new David Montgomery, also ran really hard. And that was, I feel like, the, the big— because like the, the Vikings did what they do. They blitzed. I think they broke the record, their previously held record from last week, from last week.
So they blitzed 26 of 29 dropbacks, which is insane, 89.7%. So they broke their own record from last week on that one. They did a really good job in the, in the first quarter. They kind of kept— their blitzes are weird because like I've seen a lot of the graphs and the stats of like how much time Brian Flores gives you to throw versus like what happens to those passes. What he does is he confuses you with a blitz. So the quarterback freezes in the pocket and then the pass rush gets to him eventually.
Yep.
It's not like it reduces the time to throw by that much. Today, Jared Goff looked very confused in the first quarter.
Yeah.
And they kind of figured something out. And then as the game went on, It became apparent that what Dan Campbell wanted to do was just control the clock.
Control the clock.
So he kept the defense on the field. Like, it was weird. It's like, we want to keep their defense on the field for as long as possible. We want them to throw all these blitzes at us. Eventually they'll get tired, especially if we're able to run the ball. They called screens at the right time. They called that weird little trick play to Amon-Ra St. Brown where they lined up—
Arena football.
It was CFL football, right? Lined up 15 yards off the line of scrimmage. And then hit him with a full head of steam coming at the, at the, at the cornerback.
Technically a run in the box score.
Definitely a run in the box score. But yeah, it was just about like Jahmyr Gibbs, he's going to wear you down. And by the end of the game, you're gonna be so tired from chasing him that he's going to get behind you.
Yeah. Because that was, you saw it, the Vikings defense kind of ran out of gas where they were not, again, they played well. Like they, if you, if you say the Vikings defense is going to hold the Lions offense, who is one of the best offenses in the league. to 19 points, you'd be like, okay, that they did their job. But at the end, you could tell like missing a couple tackles, Jahmyr Gibbs being able to run through the line. That was, that was the game plan. And they, they put, they did it perfectly. He ran the ball 23 times. Like I said, 153 yards. He's so explosive. And the Lions, the Lions defense also played well. We should mention, I don't, I, we don't have an update on Jack Campbell. That was really, really scary. He got stretchered off. It looked like a really bad back injury. I hope he's okay. I hope everything— like, they haven't given us any updates.
I just saw that he was in the hospital undergoing tests.
It was really, really scary. But the Lions defense played well today. Like, they held their own and they did a good job.
They did, except there was one play where 2 guys knocked each other out. So Brian Branch, it was Brian Branch and he knocked his own guy out on that one. But then, yeah, DJ Reed had an awesome game today.
Okay, so Jack Campbell is resting and will remain in local hospital tonight for continued evaluation and monitoring. The team will provide further updates as we have them. I— yeah, we just want to know if he's able to move because it was one of those injuries that like guys were crying. It was, it was one of those injuries that it's, it's insane that we like go back and play football right after. And I don't, I don't know how they do it. It was just like really, really scary. And it was weird too, because it was at first they had another guy they were talking about getting injured on that play. And then they came back and they're like, oh, actually Jack Campbell's getting a stretcher.
Yeah.
So it was bad. Like Aiden Hutchinson was crying on the field and then he hit Kyler Murray on the next play. It was crazy. He was able to like get back in and focus, like use it as motivation. I don't know. But it was— you're right. It was one of those moments where it's like, I don't know which team is going to be able to focus after this or which team should be able to. Nobody should be able to focus after something like that. But at the end of the day, you have to.
Yeah.
By the way, Max, you're pulling up fake tweets. I don't understand the people who are like, hey, let me put out some real disinformation. about a guy getting hurt that bad. But for some reason, Twitter has a million of them and it's just like so ridiculously— I, I don't want to be like a stickler or hardass here, but it is disgusting to be like, hey, some guy got really, really badly hurt on the field. Let me, let me throw up some fake AI tweets about his update.
Yeah.
It's just, it's just weird, bizarre behavior for the Vikings. I think we can officially say they have a Kyler Murray problem.
Yep.
So you could say by watching this game and Kyler overthrowing, underthrowing, never being in a rhythm, he did have that deep ball to Jordan Addison. I would say that the sign that Kyler Murray, we have a Kyler Murray problem is that Justin Jefferson, who is the most even-keeled superstar wide receiver you could imagine, who by the way had an unbelievable catch for a touchdown. In the first half, I believe. Uh, Justin Jefferson never complains. Justin Jefferson never shows, uh, emotion in a bad way. He is like the most ride-or-die, good soldier type of guy. Justin Jefferson has caught passes from Kirk Cousins, Sam Darnold, JJ McCarthy, Nick Mullens, Sean Mannion, Josh Dobbs, Jaren Hall, Kellen Mond, Carson Wentz, Max Brosmer. Justin Jefferson has reached his point where he's like, what the fuck is going on? So that would be my point with being like, maybe there's a Kyler Murray issue.
Yeah. I mean, it was a great catch that he had today. I mean, Kyler needs to use his feet more. That's number one.
Well, he did have a hamstring at the end of the game.
He did at the end of the game. But like when he was running the ball, the offense looked okay. It looked like they were serviceable at times today. And then as the game went on, he kind of stopped running. He hit like the only real threat that they had on offense in the passing game was TJ Hockenson played pretty well.
Yeah.
And he looked to be open most of the time. But yeah, if A big part of their game plan should be— I know, I know KOC is a genius, but I think he needs a dumber guy standing next to him sometimes to just be like, hey, just throw the ball towards Jefferson and let him catch the ball.
I'm no longer going to call KOC an offensive genius.
He's supposed to be.
He's supposed to.
He needs a dumb guy.
He needs a very good coach.
He needs a meathead like us. One guy being like, hey, just throw the ball up and let the best receiver in the world catch it.
Yeah. So the Vikings offense is the 31st offense EPA per play and they're the 2nd best defense EPA per play. They're 29th in yards per game, 30th in passing yards per game, 31st in offensive TDs per game. Can I throw out a crazy, crazy thought? So the trade deadline is when? It's next week, November 10th, I want to say. Is that correct?
Maybe next week.
It's like a 2— it's like 10 days away. I think it's Tuesday, November 10th.
I believe it is at 4 PM Eastern.
A lot of talk about Jonathan Taylor getting traded maybe to the Vikings. What if I told you the Vikings could trade for a— so Kyler so far this season has 4 touchdown passes, 0 rushing touchdowns. What if I told you they could trade for a quarterback that has 18 touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown? Would that be something you think you'd be interested in if you were a Minnesota Viking fan?
Possibly.
Kirk Cousins.
That's what I said. Yeah, that's how I thought that on Thursday. It's like Kirk's, Kirk's not bad.
Yeah.
Kirk is exactly what you need.
And it's funny because it's like outdoor cat today.
The offense, the offense finally, like when Kirk was playing for the Vikings, the knock was like, he can't make you win. He will, he will have a very average year, maybe even slightly above average. But when he plays against a bad team, he will no longer be above average when it counts. He'll be just average Kirk. They would kill for like an average Kirk Cousins.
He also—
the defense was never that good as it is now when he played.
Yeah. And it's like, it's not like the Raiders have an unbelievable running game that is hiding Kirk Cousins. So I, yeah, I, I don't know. I mean, would the Raiders trade him? Right.
I think they're committed to— it depends on what they get. That's the bottom line.
What about a Carson Wentz? What about a straight up one-for-one deal? Kirk Cousins for Carson Wentz?
I think that Kirk Cousins The Raiders should want to trade Kirk Cousins to the Vikings to get something if it's a good deal. I mean, where does the conversation start for Kirk Cousins?
I think it's probably— Hank, you're our trade expert. You're the one who told us that Justin Herbert would go for a third and you know, a fifth and you throw in a third.
Yeah, it might be lower now, but yeah.
Okay. So what would you say? What would your Kirk Cousins trade value be? trade-off would be?
A third.
A third.
So he's the same as Justin Herbert.
Yeah.
Well, I guess not throwing in the fifth.
Minus the fifth. Yeah.
Yeah. Who do the—
let me see.
Where can I find what the Vikings have for draft picks coming up?
Isn't he on like a 1-year— like his, his, his contract, you're not getting— how long is his contract?
Maybe next year. I forget. I forget if it's one or 2 years.
The Vikings have their first, second. They have two-thirds, one from Jonathan Gruenard deal with the Eagles. They don't have one in the 4th, and then they have 3 5th round picks.
Kirk is on a 1-year deal.
Maybe they could trade back for JJ McCarthy.
So be a rental. Yeah. Can we, can we say my bad?
Yeah.
Oh, what?
Oh, look at, look at the fine print. We said there are backsies in this trade.
If, if he wants to come back.
If he wants to come back, I'd say, I'd say he probably wouldn't.
What if they're like, we'll give you 9?
Yeah, then he would probably have to do it.
You're stuck wearing 18 in New York.
Yeah, they'd have to do it. So I, yeah, I don't know. I, I do think it's probably at a point where you're like, you have an incredible defense that could be— that's a Super Bowl caliber defense and you just need like a B+ offense, like a B offense.
You know, it looked pretty good in purple. Who confirmed? I already know he looks great in purple. Joe Flacco.
Oh, they're gonna say Joe Fragnano.
Well, that's— we can have the Flacco conversation again. But yeah, Flacco, Flacco would look good as a Viking.
Flacco would look good as a Viking, right? Damn, that would— he would— you'd have to trade Kyler because you can't bring in someone who's like a full foot taller than him. That would, that would be bad.
Everything would be bad.
Yeah, but I was impressed with the Lions. The Lions are good. I mean, they, they're just a good football team, and that was a game that Everyone was like, oh man, what are they going to do against this blitz? And they found a way.
I think just running the football, that has to be their identity now. It's like they can still do that.
I'm telling you, in this game, they have another Montgomery. I know he's not as good as Montgomery, but Vakai was— he was, he was popping. Like, he was, he was running hard. What was it? Yeah, 11 for 65 yards.
Actually, I think it's really important for Detroit to be able to win these kinds of games where they don't have to score a million points. Yeah, it's going to be very good for them as they, as they go down the stretch.
Do we think any— what do we think about the So the punt, it was, was a talking point. The Vikings punted on 4th and 5 on their own 33 with 3:01 left. The, the bots and the, the analytics simulators all were like, this was the worst punt ever. I don't know. When you have a really good defense and your offense cannot get 5 yards, I don't see it as the worst punt ever. They never got the ball back. That part sucks. But they also, they do, they are a defensive team.
Right. I agree. I agree that I probably would have punted there.
It's asking a lot for your defense, but that also is kind of the deal with the Vikings. You ask a lot of your defense.
I probably would have punted there. It feels like if you're going up against Dan Campbell, you feel like lesser of a man in those types of situations because you know that he'd go for it.
Yeah.
So you have to just be committed to, to what your analytics, what your nerd says. And I would trust my guy on this one. 4th and 5. On your own 33, Kyler can't really do much. Yeah, I'd punt it.
Yeah. All right. Anything else on this game? Kyler's got— he just looks so small. The whole division's really good. Yeah. The NFC North is just—
Didn't love the Lions jerseys.
Oh yeah. Lions jerseys. We had 2 bad jerseys today. It was the Jaguars and the Lions. The Lions, they look like the Panthers. I don't know why they're doing that. Lions also just have a great— they have a great color set.
Yeah. They don't need to do anything. That helmet that they wore today, that's a helmet that should be like in an office somewhere.
Yeah.
On display. It should not be on a football field. Same with the Jaguars. I kind of like the Jaguars, but I disagree about that.
But it's not a real helmet. It's not real.
But that's the Jaguars. The Jaguars don't really have uniforms. Yeah, Jaguars have uniforms like, like they— I feel like they wear a different one, like 4 different uniforms every year.
Yeah, that is true. The Jaguars can wear whatever. It's just like, whatever. Yeah, Jaguars. But the Lions, like, you have great uniforms. You have a great logo.
Yeah.
Don't fuck around with it.
Agreed.
Okay. Next up, the little brother is still the little brother. Steelers 27, Browns 6. Uh, the most little brother energy possible from the, from this, from the Browns to get into this game. We mentioned on Friday that 1988 was the last time the Browns swept the season series against the Steelers, and this is also the 23rd straight regular season game that the Browns have lost in Pittsburgh. 23 straight is insane.
I—
now obviously you get the, the COVID Baker Mayfield playoff win thrown in there, which Is significant, but 23 straight regular season games in Pittsburgh and you haven't won? That's nuts.
It's really bad.
That's like you luck into one eventually.
The Browns, they started to feel themselves a little bit too early this year.
And they suck at the beginning of games.
Jared Verse before the game just being like, yeah, it's a dirty team. I don't like playing against them.
Not great.
Like giving them more bullets and board material. The Steelers offensive line was awesome today.
Yeah.
They were really— and their defensive line was really, really good. So the strength that the Browns had was their defense. Their defense didn't really show up and their offensive line got manhandled by TJ Watt, Nick Herbig, and who else got on the board? Somebody else got—
Alex Highsmith was everywhere.
Yeah, Queen might have gotten a couple.
Yeah, 8 sacks of Deshaun Watson. By the way, there are— Aliquippa, which is a high school, has 10 wins at Heinz Field/Acrisure Stadium and the Browns have 2. Yeah, just going to throw that out there. There's like— I have a list of Pine Richland has 5 wins at that stadium. They're also a high school in the Pittsburgh area. Browns have 2. But yeah, it was— the Browns cannot— they start every game slow. They're now in the first quarter of this season. They've been outscored 65 to 13.
Mm-hmm.
Every game slow. And they hope their defense can keep them close and Deshaun can be a hero in the fourth. The Steelers just like squashed that out, including that— I got to give credit, Mike McCarthy. Was he looking a little fat? Yeah, he always is looking a little fat, but ballsy move at the end of the half to do the push-tush with no time left, like 2 seconds left, where it's like you get no points if you don't get this. I don't think they had any timeouts. That was, that was an anti-Mike Tomlin move. I don't see Mike Tomlin doing that. He takes the points in a divisional game. You take those, you take the points all day because you know why?
This is going to be a field goal game.
Yeah.
Yeah.
If you spend all week saying, hey, this is gonna be a field goal game, funny how it usually ends up being a field goal game.
Yeah.
But yeah, it was, it was a, it was a smart move. I liked it. It was aggressive. I feel like that with that formation that they have with Pat Freiermuth running it in and Aaron Rodgers just like standing still. Like, we should nominate Aaron. Can you put this? We need to nominate Aaron Rodgers for Cuck of the Year Award for his performance on tush pushes where he just stands and watches with his hands in his pocket.
Yeah.
But I feel like that play always works when you have Pat Freiermuth, a tight end who's strong as fuck, and then you got 2 other guys pushing him.
Yeah, it always works. And it made up for some really bad play calling at the goal line. I wrote this down. It didn't end up mattering. But the Steelers, they're just obsessed with, with goal line fades on first and second down. They did it when we were— when we had the K parlay, we're looking for Jaylen Warren to get a run. And they're just like, goal line fade, goal line fade, run for 1 yard, field goal. They did that in the first quarter, I think. And it was just like, what the fuck are they doing?
They do like the opposite of what we used to criticize coaches for doing. Yeah, like going run, run, pass. They'll go pass, pass, run all the time. Those short yards, they love trying to get the ball to DK Metcalf. DK with one of the worst drop interceptions.
Oh, so bad.
That I've ever seen today.
So bad.
It's—
I don't know what happened. Did he get too strong? Is he so strong now that he can't catch a ball?
I don't know.
I think it might be one of those things like David Boston had that. But it's— you get, you get muscle, even your hands get muscle bound.
Well, now it's like the Colin Cowherd, like, we're good now. We're good. Remember when he did the, we're good now, LeBron, because we have Ben Simmons? I feel like that when I watch Darnell Washington catch. I'm like, we're good, DK. Yeah, we got a guy who's just physically imposing and can catch the ball and big body everyone in his path because that's what happens every time Darnell Washington catches the ball.
Yeah.
It's just like he catches the ball and it's just instant. I can't wait to see which person he puts through the center of the Earth's crust.
I want to say there should be a channel like Red Zone, but it's just close-ups of Darnell Washington in real time. Yeah. Like live, a live feed of Darnell and what he does on every play. Because you're right. Like there's nothing better than watching him run with a football, even when he's not stiff-arming guys, even when he's running.
Yeah.
It's just, it's fun to see a guy that's that big run that fast.
Yeah. I also liked—
Georgia ever, like, not score a touchdown when they had Darnell and Brock Bowers at the same time?
They did win a lot of—
they won a lot of football.
They won 2 national titles.
How did that drive— how did they ever have a drive that didn't end in a touchdown?
They won a shitload of football games. Stetson Bennett, the chosen one. Stetson Bennett. Remember, Jerry watched one game of football. He watched Georgia versus TCU and he's like, how does Stetson Bennett not go 1-1? You want to play a quick game of regrettable quotes that you probably shouldn't say from Zion Johnson, the offensive lineman for the Browns? He said, we can't let the quarterback get touched that much.
Mm-hmm. Well, no, fact.
Actually, that is a fact.
Yeah. Yeah. No, I would say not regrettable.
Not really.
He's actually being spot on.
I don't know if he's talking about the game or in life.
Yeah. No, spot on.
Don't touch Deshaun Watson. Spot on. Yeah. We can't let him get touched that much.
He went to the blue injury tent today for a little bit.
Yeah, we saw a little Shedussy.
A little Shedussy got in the game.
Yeah.
I thought we were going to get a lot more Shedussy.
Oh, here's, here's a regrettable quote for Deshaun Watson. Put the sacks on me.
Well, again, that's—
Maybe that's a Peyton Manning training table kind of situation.
I would say that's more like—
Put the sacks on me.
You don't, you don't want people around Deshaun saying that.
Yeah, but he wants the sacks on him.
Have the Browns learned?
Pause.
Yeah.
I, I, uh, party at 4s. I'm starting to, I'm starting to get— we talked about it. I, I, the, the Brett— this was the, the battle to see who was like good-ish or like, you know, can elevate to good-ish plus. I think the Steelers are, are good because Jaylen Warren is really good. The Browns stink. They might go to the playoffs still because they have an easy schedule, but this team, they, they They're not. They're— it's because their defense has not been as dominant. As soon as their defense starts to wane, it's like, oh yeah, we do have Deshaun Watson as our quarterback. And he starts so slow in every game. It's—
It's just, I believe, negative 1 yard in the first quarter.
It was so bad.
And the offense as a whole just didn't do anything all day. It's not like the 4th quarter Browns have been a thing. That didn't show up. They practiced with Renegade this week. Oh, they blasted Renegade to get ready for For going to Akershire and it didn't work. Obviously nothing happened in the 4th quarter. The Steelers are— I think the Steelers are good.
Yeah, no, it's Jaylen Warren.
And they're good at home. I believe they're 4-0 at home.
Yeah, I think that tracks.
Because they have a formula now where it's not— the formula used to be just kind of like play shitty football and then hope that TJ Watt can get a sack fumble and put you in scoring position.
Yeah.
Now they have TJ Watt and the entire rest of the defense playing really well, and they have an offense that has an identity. They can run the football, and Aaron Rodgers can manage some stuff.
Jaylen Warren is a top 5 running back this year, and it's like watching him play, that, that changes what I think about the Steelers because the Steelers of the past few years is like, how are you going to move the football? And the answer was, we don't know. We were going to throw a bunch of screens. And if we get into a 3rd and 10, we're going to, we're going to throw a pass for 5 yards and have our player get tackled by 16 defenders. Now they have Jaylen Warren and he is electric and he has the pop. And Rico Dowdle was running well too. So yeah, I think they have— and like Aaron Rodgers can still make a lot of the throws. Just some of, you know, DK Metcalf drops him and, you know, yeah, I think these are different than the Mike Tomlin Steelers we've watched for the last 5 years. Yeah.
I would agree. I also want to get all the mic'd up between Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers in the back and forth, because there was a moment today where they had that little, the little doo-doo-doo where I think it was at the end of the first half where McCarthy was calling some plays and Aaron Rodgers was just looking at him and you could tell in his eyes he was looking at the huddle being like, I'm not— can you believe this guy's shit right here? Yeah, trying to pull on us. I would love to hear actually what the mic'd up between those two is.
I would like to— this is going to— this is kind of a Uh, weird thing to say, but I just thought of it during the game when I was watching and they zoomed in on Mike McCarthy. Do you think, do you think a UFC champion could do a rear naked chokehold on Mike McCarthy and make him tap? Because I don't. His neck is so thick. I don't actually think you could choke him out.
I think a heavyweight—
I think he has defense.
I think a heavyweight could do it.
I don't know. I don't think so. It does. It's not even a neck really either.
They're thinking take it.
It's kind of just fused to his shoulders. His neck might be a Diaz brother.
Look at it.
It doesn't even have a neck.
It might be impossible.
Yeah, you can't be like, oh, Mike McCarthy gave up his chin. What are you talking about? There is no chin to give up. It just— it's his mouth kind of just ends up in his chest.
Like impossible to knock out, like Butterbean. Yeah, he just has to take a bunch of shots.
Max is actually trying to physically think about it.
Yeah, I think if you lifted his head—
I don't think there's anything under there. I think it's more neck and then in like his chest.
But like, if you go like, if you go up.
Yeah, I think if you lifted his chin, it would just be chest.
What if you had like a turkey leg that you dangled above his mouth so he would like lift his mouth up, open his mouth?
You're not talking into the mic.
Yeah, but you know what I'm saying?
You can't.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like, if he was looking up, he exposes his neck.
I don't think that's right. Yeah, that's what I said.
That's how you get it.
Like, if you dangled some—
I think we could figure out a way to do it.
Lift his neck up. It just is a sign saying, here's Mike McCarthy's chest.
Do you think if we ever interviewed him in person, we could, we could test this theory?
Yeah.
Just be like, let me— Zach's last throwback question. He'd just be like, hey, Coach, can I just, can I just get my arm around your neck real quick and just see what it feels like?
I think you'd have to pinch his nose.
Yeah.
Like, no way around it.
Like a dog with hiccups. You got to cover the nose.
Yeah, I think that's how you tap him.
That's how you choke him out. Yeah. Just fill his nose with putty. I like it.
Oh, just something to think about. Mike McCarthy.
Hank, take that picture.
Oh, I don't like that.
They're doing the, the, the America's Pick.
Football Night in America, across the board commies.
I don't remember the last time I've, I've seen that. It feels like I've never seen that in my life.
Waiting all day for Sunday night. This, this is a peak Mike Francesa rant game. Remember his famous rant? He was like, that's so stupid. No one waits all day for Sunday night. You watch football all day. It's true.
It's a good rant.
Really good rant.
You pull—
can you, can you pull up his rant real quick?
This is going to be so terrible.
It's such a good—
it's such a bad game.
It's such a fun game.
Such a mean game. Because with the Cowboys losing like they did today, if we win, I'm going to— I'm going to think some stupid things. Yeah.
Don't.
I'm thinking—
don't.
No, I haven't. I haven't. I can't.
You refuse to accept the fact that your team fucking stinks.
No, I just said I would think stupid things.
You want to win.
I do want to win.
And you'll be back.
Yeah.
Why wouldn't you want to win?
And then I want to win too.
I'll think stupid things.
I want to win too.
But no, the way that we've looked has given me a great reason to not think stupid things. So I haven't been.
This is not good. Max is going to find it. He's one of our worst Googlers.
What do you want? I did Francesa rant Sunday Night Football. What else do you want me to search?
Waiting all day for Sunday night.
Yeah. Waiting all day for Sunday night. I think Blutman's tweeted it. Oh yeah, there you go. That was— there you go. All right. So anything else on this game other than— oh, Harold Fannin is a stud. And also a reminder, Maxion is back this week.
Yeah.
So Maxion's back. Listen, I know like Sunbelt and some of these other Conference USA have tried to take over the week. Maxion is the true weeknight football. It's November. That's when we play Maction. That's when we're— that's when we get some weird shit going on.
All right.
Do you have it?
It's 7 and a half minutes.
All right. So then we don't have it.
Okay.
That's fine. But there was a— everyone should go look up the rant.
It was great.
It's a fucking great rant.
Okay.
Next up, we can go quickly on this game. Bills 36, Ravens 10. Joe Fagnano.
We're doing it.
I'll tell you what, Joe Fagnano, those first 2 passes he threw. I thought he was going to be playing in the NFL for 15 years. And then he played the rest of the game. And Joe Fagnano, I don't think is an NFL quarterback, but he might, you know, listen, he, he has to probably play Thursday night. And they asked him if he's healthy enough. He said, I think so.
For a second, you had to squint really hard. But for a second, you thought, is that guy, is that a mix of, of Joe Flacco and Chase McSorley out there.
Yeah.
I thought to myself for a moment, yeah, there's something about Fagnano.
There really is.
There was. I just trusted him the way he was out there. And I was looking forward to all the Fagnano versus Lamar Jackson discourse. It was going to be a great time just to be a football fan.
He, um, the first 2 throws were awesome. Yeah. This game should have been awesome. Lamar gets hurt right away.
Everything was on schedule with Fagnano. Yep.
Snoop gets hurt 4 plays, 4 passes in. And then it was just the Bills. Just, I mean, the Bills are really, really good. That's why I'm thinking when you have a Fangano in there, it's like they're going to just tee off.
I'm thinking you have to at least make the call for Flacco to bring him home. I think that the Ravens get first crack at him. If you want to bring him home, yeah, you can. If you say no, then he becomes property of the Vikings.
Are the Ravens— I think we might break the record for seasons from hell because the Ravens are now officially in that category with Lamar being hurt, coming back, getting hurt almost instantly, going on IR.
It turns out you're just in hell. You just live there.
You're in hell. And this team is a bad football team when Lamar Jackson's not playing quarterback for them.
Yeah.
That's just a fact.
It sucked because it was the very first play today, very first pass that he threw.
And it was going to be a great game.
Yeah.
And the Bills, I mean, listen, the Bills are just good. DJ Moore being back, like it's a difference that you can see on the field. Like he had an incredible catch. Everything opens up. Everything underneath opens up when DJ Moore's out on the field. Josh Allen is— he didn't have to like be Superman. He still kind of was at certain times in the game. The Bills are just way better than a Joe Fagnano-led Ravens team. You know, Joe Fagnano played 7 years of college football. Pretty good for him.
I did not know that.
Is he a doctor?
No, he played, I think, 4 years at Maine and then 3 years at UConn.
I love that. Do you think he ever peed in that?
Some really good—
in that urinal right there?
Yeah, really good. I don't think so. That's a basketball urinal.
But do you think he ever would happen?
By the way, update. Dan Hurley quote tweeted it and said that Geno also pissed in this urinal.
Huge.
So that's like how many? That's like, what does he have, like 25 national titles? I think Geno does.
There could have been— there could have been a moment where Fagnano found himself in that office.
Yeah.
Like the starting quarterback meets with the basketball team for some reason. I don't know.
But I did the cursory, like, let's look up what Joe Fagnano is all about. And it It basically was articles that had been posted an hour ago being like 5 facts about Joe Fagnano. And it was like he played football at Maine, then he played football at UConn. He won the MVP for the Fenway Bowl in 2024, only threw 1 interception his last year in 2025. Actually, the fun fact about Joe Fagnano is that he got Jim Mora Jr. a job at Colorado State. Yeah, he was that good. I think he was 28 touchdowns, 1 interception his last year at UConn.
And he's got to love football. If you play, if you play 7 years at Maine.
Yeah.
And UConn, you got to love football.
You got to love football. And he, again, they asked him, is he healthy enough to play Thursday? And he said, I think so. So this is the downside. We now have a Thursday night game, Jaguars versus Ravens.
That is—
Yeah, it's gross.
I'm going to say it. I don't think we should. I think we should do a choose your own adventure on that game. I'm going to say it. I feel like that game isn't stream worthy. Great. Streaming Bears on Monday night. I feel like I don't need to. But what if Joe Fagnano does something awesome?
You don't want to miss that.
Okay, well, maybe Zoom it. I mean, Joe Fagnano could do something sick.
He could.
I say we do Zoom.
Those 2—
Joe Fagnano stinks.
Those 2 throws, though, from Joe Fagnano were electric.
I watched so much of this game because I was, I was so excited for it. I know, a lot of money on the over, and I really wanted to will that that game to being over and Joe Fagnano just couldn't get me anything.
You know what this game is? This Thursday night game. This is a, this is a resume game for Declan Doyle. This is Declan Doyle's—
What can you make out of Joe Fagnano?
This is Declan Doyle's job interview. This is number one interview for Declan Doyle. It will determine how many teams call him at the end of this year. If he's able to make Fagnano look serviceable, Yeah, then that'll go a long way.
I will say Joe Fagnano probably hasn't got a first-team rep ever.
Probably not.
No, definitely not.
So maybe he just needs a couple reps this week in practice.
Right. You know what? I'm going to believe in him. I'm going to be part of the Nanos. And we're choosing that name very, very carefully.
The fan club?
Yeah, we're the Nanos.
I did like how the announcer was making sure to say Fagnano.
Yeah, Fagnano.
Fagnano. They became real Italian. Real paisans. How do you say it, Max?
Fagnano? I don't know.
Yeah.
What's the—
do you think that that agent has called him yet?
Oh, he has to have. What's his name?
Stellato.
Stellato's got to have his hands all over Joe Fagnano.
Yeah.
Tommy DeVito, you're old news, buddy. He also, like, he was the emergency quarterback today. Like, he We— yeah, man, if we're gonna—
I didn't want him to get injured, but I did want to see how chaotic it would have been if he couldn't play for some reason.
Yeah, they said, I think, Justice Hill.
Yeah, that just would have been awesome just to see.
I, I believe was what they said, it would have just been Wildcat, Wildcat, Wildcat.
Yeah, I mean, that's basically what the Buccaneers did.
Yeah, they did it well. They did it really well. All right, Bills are really good though. I don't know what else to say that they— I can't really grade— like, the Bills defense played great today and they got a lot of pressure, but you can't really grade it because of who they were playing. But that would be a positive if you're a Bills fan being like, hey, we, we didn't get— because the alternative is you get like sliced and diced by Joe Fagnano and then you're, then you're like questioning life.
Right. So Baltimore, they are the first team in NFL, in the NFL to have 3 quarterbacks throw a pass before halftime since the 2017 Cowboys. Who did it? Broderick Washington. You remember that interception that he had where it was like, oh, hey, the Ravens might be able to do something today? I looked it up because I was like, I can't remember ever hearing in my entire life like Broderick Washington ever recovering anything. Turns out he's recovered a couple of fumbles from Kyle Van Noy. But it got me thinking, if— who's the guy who's been in the NFL for the longest without ever touching the ball is? I looked it up.
That— yeah, go ahead. Tell us.
It's Garrett Bowles. on the, uh, on the Broncos. So I guess he's played 9,792 snaps, and Sean Payton targeted him last year just in a special play to get him to touch the ball. I, I want to be able to bet on Garrett Bowles to have one reception in every game for the rest of— because I feel like Sean Payton is going to try to get him that touch.
Definitely.
Because he doesn't want him to retire as the guy who never touched the ball, because that would suck. Like a lot of these interior linemen, they, they— you will just never touch the ball ever.
That was, uh, I remember we talked to Joe Thomas once and he was like, yeah, I played in the NFL for a decade-plus, Hall of Fame career, career. And I think he actually like timed it. He touched the football for like 12 seconds total.
Yeah. This guy, that's such a bummer.
Yeah.
Such a bummer. Like, let Garrett Bowles catch a pass or do one of those weird inside handoffs to him. I don't care. Just get, get the ball in his hand for a second.
Yeah.
Or let him take a knee at the end of a game.
I mean, Bo Nix probably will just throw it to him on accident.
Yeah.
100%.
Yeah. Okay.
One other thing. Roquan Smith apparently tried to kill Josh Allen today. Yeah. Did you see that?
Yeah.
That was pretty bad. I feel like that's going to be a suspension from the league. Yeah, because it— I don't know. I'm not a doctor, but it looked like he could have snapped his neck, or at least it looked like he was trying to.
Yeah, it was one.
You got to chill out.
Chill out, man. By the way, I just— he like wrenched him.
Yeah.
Oh, see, that's where— that's where Mike McCarthy, like, his— his head doesn't even move. Yeah, it just stays firmly in place.
Well, unless his Unless he looks up.
Yeah, then it— but again, I think it's all chest.
I have really like a thorax. I'm like insects.
Bad breaking news. Breaking news. I was wrong about just Fagnano versus the Jaguars on Thursday Night Football. The Ravens also have Monday Night Football the next week against the Chargers. Oh, the Chargers.
How?
How?
Permission to watch— not watch Monday Night Football that day.
What can we—
I'm going to do it. I'm, I'm going to do it. That's going to— Joe, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are going to get into a fistfight.
Yeah, that's going to be a tough one.
Try to get through that one. Try to, try to have the buddy-buddy, real pleasant conversation for 3 hours when you're watching Justin Herbert versus Fagnano.
ESPN, Jimmy Pitaro might have to be like, hey, Peter Herb Street's got to be on this broadcast. Like, just, just as a buffer between the two of you.
Wait, what did— what's that guy's name from the Ravens? That's Skip Bayless used to call me that, Joe.
Oh man, that's— Ravens-Chargers.
Oh yeah. Oh, I mean, it would be— it would have been awesome if it was the Harbaughs.
Yeah, although he was fired well before the schedule. I know, but still, maybe we can—
this might be Harbaugh revenge for his brother. This, this is where the Chargers get their win.
They probably get—
this is where Hugh Jackson gets flushed down the toilet.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay.

Okay, we're back and we're going to talk about the Bengals 43, Titans 36. But we should also say we took a little break to watch some of Sunday Night Football. As we are recording right now, it is 16 to 10 Commanders. It is a gross game. We just watched Jake Elliott make a kick, then miss a kick. And yeah, I still, I still don't know why, why they put this game on Sunday Night Football. But we're going to watch the last 9 minutes together while we're potting.
It's perverted stuff. You really don't have a dog in this fight. I don't know why you're watching it. This should be for Max and my eyes only.
Barely.
Barely even our eyes.
Yeah, Max, it's just everything the Eagles do on offense is so like it takes every ounce of energy to gain like 4 yards.
We don't have real players.
Yeah, I know.
You have 6th string running back.
Yeah, we don't have real players.
Yeah.
All right. Let's talk Bengals 43, Titans 36. This was maybe the most entertaining game of the early slate. It was crazy. The fact that we had how many? I can't even do the math. How many points is that? 79 points.
79 points. Yeah. 43-36.
36 points. Most points the Titans have scored in 5 years in a game. It was back and forth, pretty much like it's the Jim Balvano. You have to laugh. You have to cry. What's the other thing?
Come.
Come to work, to do the whole, you know, to live a full day. That was Joe Burrow's stat line. He threw 3 picks. He threw 5 touchdowns, 462 yards, ran in the— what was the game-winning touchdown. He did everything.
Yeah.
It was bad Joe, it was good Joe. It was essentially from watching, it was like the Bengals, and they kind of did this last week with the Ravens too when they were down 13-nothing at half, where they just know they can like whenever they want, they can just start ripping the ball to, to Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins and it will work because those 2 guys had 21 catches, 3 touchdowns, and 196 yards combined. Or sorry, 296 yards combined. It was— they just hit the button and they, and, and they were able to stave off the Titans who looked good.
They—
Competent.
The Bengals did go down exactly 13-nothing again. Yeah. And then they started to respond. Burrow ended with 462 yards. Yeah. 5 touchdowns, 3 picks. He's the second guy in the history of the league to have 450 yards, 5 pass touchdowns and a rush touchdown in the game. And the other guy was Norm Van Brocklin in that game where he had 554 passing yards, set the league record, still hasn't been beaten.
Wow.
So, uh, yeah, I mean, Joe looked great. There were some bad throws, but he could—
Was that Williams?
That was Williams.
Okay.
That was big for Antonio. Um, it was—
I don't know if he's good enough to get a nickname like that.
That's just what I— that's just what I said. That's not really a nickname. That's just me. Just singing Biggie Smalls.
Okay. For Antonio Williams.
He will be good.
Yeah.
Just wait. But I laddered him.
I followed you up the ladder.
Joe Burrow just had— he just had a game where he could not— he could not stop slinging the football.
He did it all.
He filled the holes.
Like, you can't tell the story of this game without just Joe Burrow did it all. He did the most. And then I— so the Bengals are now 5-2 because I think they had their bye. Yeah, they're 5-2. I would be concerned if I were a Bengals fan because, uh, well, all right, let's go good news first. Good news, Joe Burrow, you're 5-2. Joe Burrow's still playing. The, the offense can score at will. I would say that if you want to like go best offenses in the league, I— it's like Bills and Bengals, right? Like Lions maybe, but like it's Niners get in there, but it feels like the Bengals have a switch. That they, that very few teams have where it's like track meet. We can, we can, we can block for Joe and Joe will find the guys and the guys are better than your guys.
Yeah, they can hit the track meet button, but, and just, and turn any game into shootout and trust the fact that chances are they'll win more shootouts than they'll lose.
Right. The, the, the thing that would make you concerned if you're a Bengals fan is you just made Cam Ward have, uh, look good and have his best game as a pro. Which, what's going on with that? And Tony Pollard ran all over you. Cam Ward had—
Tony Pollard's been playing pretty good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Last couple of weeks.
But still, like, this is the whole thing with the Bengals this year was invested in the defense. Dexter Lawrence, it's going to be fixed. We're not going to have to win these type of games anymore. And Cam Ward has not looked good as an NFL quarterback today. He didn't throw any picks, 2 touchdowns, 300 yards. Like he looked, he looked good and he didn't even have Carnell Tate. So that would concern me. But you could maybe say, hey, look, it's these games happen, which I actually do prescribe to that theory that it's like you do get into random games that aren't— they're kind of outlier games where it's like everything just goes crazy and it's just back and forth, back and forth. And then you'll have games where it's just everything's slogged down. Just something to think about. The Cam Ward looks better than he's ever looked in an NFL game.
Sometimes the game gets away from you and there's just going to be guys that are wide open running downfield. Next week against— is it the Falcons next week for the Bengals?
That's an over.
That's going to be a fun game. That's another one that might get away from the Bengals. But yeah, after the first like 3 weeks of this year, we thought maybe the Bengals have just completely fixed their defense. It's not completely fixed, but at their best, they're still like miles ahead of where they have been for the last 3 seasons. Yeah. I think it might just be one that got away from him a little bit. And yeah, I guess if you're the Titans, this is probably like— this game might be the most fun that you'll have watching football this year.
Yeah.
So that was cool.
That was. And the uniforms look good. Where's this game they're playing the Falcons against?
Let's see.
It's not in America.
Hank?
8:30 in the morning, Madrid.
Madrid.
Will you be watching, Hank?
Of course.
España. The full game?
Yeah. Okay.
Always. How about you just do that? No, no, no.
Sometimes you say— sometimes you openly admit that you'll watch the second half.
You take a shower.
Yeah, I'll wake up, I'll watch some, mosey around the house, take a shower, come into the office.
But yeah, I'm interested to see where, where Mike Brown has the Bengals staying while they're in Madrid. Like what kind of hotel they got put up in. They staying in the city?
Probably not great.
They're staying at a hostel in the outskirts. They're not going to get the real Jamón Ibérico. They're going to get like the, the 50/50 like pink ribbon stuff that you can get anywhere else.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, no, he might just leave it up to everyone else. He might just give him like a $100 stipend and be like, figure it out.
Yeah, it is. This is a great stadium that they're playing in next week, though. That place is awesome.
Still don't want it there.
Don't want it there at all.
Still don't want it there. Well, something just to look at. Ja'Marr Chase, when asked how the Bengals can avoid slow starts, he said, I don't know, ask Zach. It's not my job.
Ask Zach.
Zach's technically right.
First name basis, huh?
It is Zach's job.
Mr. Zach.
Zach, so let's ask you. Slow start? Trouble getting out of bed?
Look, you just can't think about the slow start. Once you get it going, you get it going.
Do you find yourself— do you find yourself— what's the— what's the breakdown in the Zach community? Like in terms of Z-A-C-H, Z-A-C-K, Z-A-C? You're just a Z-A-C. Do you look like Down on the other ones? Or who's, who's the top of the Zach rung?
I think we're talking numbers-wise. I think there's the most probably CHs because it's just full name, probably full government, probably Zachary. So they just cut it in half. The CK moms, when they give that nickname to their kids, they're just trying to be a little too creative.
So that's just a nickname?
Well, there's no K if— well, I guess—
or is that—
I knew a guy named Zach, Z-A-C-K. Yeah, that was just like government name.
Was he full name? Because if he's full name Zachariah and there's a K in there, it makes sense. But if your full name Zachary, I don't— I never understand.
Who's the Alpha Zach?
Definitely not the Q, probably the C. H, probably.
Wait, the Q?
Have you guys seen the Q? Yes.
No, I actually would imagine that would be—
yeah, there's the least likely. Only seen one.
Okay, what about the, the Z-A-K-K?
Double K? Yeah, I get that for maybe an online username, but I've never seen that on paper.
That's something Nashville shit.
Yeah, definitely some like Southeast.
What, uh, all right, so, so when you see Did you ever ask your mom, like, hey, why no H?
Yeah, she told me just because it spells my initials. So just— she just ran the ball there.
Yeah. Yeah.
Which— that was cool.
So, but you're, you're, you're not like if you're in a room full of Zachs, you're not looked at as like—
No, I'm middle of the pack.
Yeah.
Is there anything about being named Zach that, that all the Zachs have in common? Like growing up always being like last in roll call, end of the alphabet, end of all the lines.
It's always kind of a bummer.
Yeah.
Like picture day.
Yeah.
Zach Taylor, by the way, is Zachary, but he just— he dropped the H.
It's a good move.
So he could be an H.
Yeah. So you guys all— but you all suffer together like you have a common bond.
I think some of the— I think some of it is like Zach, pretty common name. You're put into a classroom as a young kid. There's 2 Zachs. We got to have a C and an H.
Yeah.
His full name is Zachary William Taylor. That sounds like a guy who signed the Constitution.
That's a president.
Yeah. What the fuck?
Also tough is Zachary. Not the most adult name when you get— you— when you become a man.
It feels like, you know, it is a little— it's a little boyish.
Yeah, it stays kind of boyish.
You're right. I never thought about it. But yeah, an adult— like, I don't think I've ever met like a 50-year-old put-together Zach.
Zach.
And then you go Zachary, and that still just sounds, you know, It's not the most—
that sounds more boyish, I think.
Yeah, it is. Then, yeah, that's the only— I would say that's the biggest drawback.
Do you think your name is holding you back, like in terms of, you know, responsibility and growing up?
No, I'm holding me back. It's not the name. Yeah, I can't put that on my mom. That's all me.
Well, then technically it is your name holding you. It's you holding you back.
That's true.
Yes. Zach is holding Zach back.
Yes.
Okay. That was good Zach talk. All right. Next game. The biggest choke of Uh, the season, maybe. Cardinals 33, Cowboys 30. Gardner Minshew. We got Gardner. It actually was like the backup Avengers because the Cardinals were going through their, their usual Jacoby Brissett has a nice drive, then the offense can't do shit. Uh, Jeremiah Love got hurt. Uh, everyone was out, and then it was like, hey, who do we have left? We have the backup Avengers. We're going to put in Gardner Minshew. We're going to have Tyler Allgeier run all over everyone. And the Cardinals come back from 14 down in the 4th quarter to win in overtime, which they could have easily won in regulation if their kicker didn't miss an extra point.
And that made it kind of better because it was almost like the Cowboys had to go through losing twice. Yeah, because like at the end of the game, they're like, oh shit, I can't believe we choked that away. And then he missed the kick and they're like, oh, all right, maybe we can win. And then boom, you lose again.
Of all the— I mean, I feel like we have gotten to a point now I mean, it just— Jerry Jones has like a fetish of just being humiliated on national television because no one loses like the Cowboys lose. Yeah, they really do lose better than everyone. I'm not saying like they lose more than everyone because they have won a lot of games. And even with Mike McCarthy, they won a lot of games. But the way they lose is always just spectacular. They can't just normally lose.
They find new ways to do it too. It's like they don't necessarily have a single style that they like to follow, although this is This is the 5th time in a row that the Cardinals have beaten them.
Yeah, it's 9 out of 10.
They have their number.
Think about, think about though, the Cowboys' losses this year, the way they've lost. They lost week 1 when they, when, remember the Giants? I think they had like 3 possessions.
Yeah.
Giants had the ball the whole entire time. They lost to the Ravens in that game where they couldn't have lost. Like it was impossible to lose in regulation.
And the fact that it was in Brazil is just like a little extra spice on it.
They lost to Jaylen Daniels, who maybe will never start another game in the NFL.
Yep.
And they lost this game. I mean, they also lost to the Packers. That was more of a routine loss. But this game, which was just— they were— it was the first time they had lost at home in the history of the Cowboys with a 14-plus lead in 4th quarter. They were 202-0-1 as a franchise in those situations. And it was Gardner Minshew. And Gardner Minshew— Adam Rank had a great tweet. He said Gardner Minshew is like the McRib He exists. He exists for just a limited amount of time. But while he's here, it's spectacular.
Yeah. And he does come back like once a year.
Yeah.
The thing about Gardner Minshew is you have to time him right.
If you—
it's very easy to hit the Gardner Minshew button at the wrong time. Yeah. And you feel like you should get excited about it, like he has a chance to, to help you win a game, provide a spark. But sometimes it's not the right time and the spark just completely backfires on you. Yeah. It's like a pit stop.
Yeah.
It's like a pit stop in NASCAR. If you time it perfectly, It gives you such a nice little boost for like the next 2 weeks.
It's the best.
If you mistime it, your whole season goes to shit.
Yeah. And he, I mean, it's just, it was fun to see him out there. He was slinging. He threw 3 touchdowns, 188 yards. He came in in the 4th quarter and this game was over. It was over. And I can't stress enough how chicken shit Brian Schottenheimer and the Cowboys were at the end of this game.
They were up.
2 times in the red zone. 2 times. They're up 24-17 with 4 minutes left and they were just playing for field goals. They went, uh, minus 2-yard run, 1-yard pass, incompletion, field goal. Then the Cardinals score, it's 27-24, and they have to— oh, Tanner McKee just threw an interception.
Love that.
And why didn't you keep running? Why didn't he keep running? I don't know. Why didn't he just get out of bounds? They just want the game.
I don't understand anything about this football team. I don't know.
The game's over.
But they might as well— they might as well have a cow.
You're only saying that because you have the O.
Yeah, I know, but he did just run out of bounds. It doesn't matter.
No, he's right. It doesn't make sense. Most, most cornerbacks, when they have an interception like that, yeah, on a primetime game, and they have Mike Tirano up in the box saying your name, There wasn't like— they tend to try to score a touchdown. You, Max, you went out of bounds.
There was no reason to go out of bounds. It wasn't like there was 1 second left.
It just doesn't matter.
I understand what you're saying, but I don't— that was a weird thing to see happen.
That was Rasul Douglas.
I don't think it was whatever.
It was weird.
It was weird.
Sure.
I agree with you. He could— most guys try to score a touchdown on that. Yeah.
Yeah. They just keep running. He's still running.
Yeah. But here comes Jayden.
Okay. So Up, up 24-17. They do the run, run, short yard pass. They've been busy playing field goals. Then they get the— oh, is he going to run for a touchdown?
Rashad White is going to go down.
Go down culture.
Go down.
Yep.
Go down culture at its finest.
Shout out DJ Khaled.
And then they got— they get the onside kick and they're back in the red zone. It's 27-24.
There's—
there's their first and 10 at the 20. Score touchdown. The game is over. You're up 2 scores. They go 0-yard run, sack, 3-yard run. I don't get it. They played to— they just played like chickenshit football down the stretch. They deserve to lose. And Gardner Minshew, credit to him, he went 80 yards, 103— 80 yards in a minute and 3 seconds.
Yeah.
To tie the game. The Cowboys deserve this. Brian Schottenheimer is not a head coach. It's crazy.
And they asked Jerry Jones about it after the game and he said that he's not planning on making any moves right now. Apparently what really stuck with him for a long time was when he fired Wade Phillips.
Yeah, no.
He still goes back to that. He's like, that's why I won't fire a coach midseason anymore.
Yeah.
But I think most Cowboys fans probably, if you asked them like point blank, they kind of miss Mike McCarthy.
Yeah. No, he said, Jerry said specifically because he was trying to be nice and not like drag Wade Phillips and like mention that he fired Wade Phillips. He said, I made a change and I don't want to mention it because I'm not proud of it. But I made a change with Wade Phillips there in the middle of the season. I don't see that here at all.
Yeah, I don't want to mention his name, but Wade Phillips made a mistake.
It was Wade Phillips.
That was a mistake.
Yeah.
So the, the, as we mentioned, the Cardinals have beaten them 5 games in a row now. And the comeback that they had since 2000, the Cardinals were 1-147-1 when trailing by 14 points or more in the 4th quarter. And you combine that with the Cowboys being 69-0 when leading by 14-plus points in the 4th quarter at home entering today.
Well, no, 202-0 as a franchise.
As a franchise.
Leading by 14 points in the 4th quarter.
So you combine that, won 147-1 for the Cardinals. It was just an all-time choke job. And the Cowboys defense is so bad. The Cowboys have allowed 20 or more points in 15 games, 15 games in a row. That's the longest active streak in the league right now. See, what's up?
You want to talk about your boy?
Which guy?
Caleb Downs?
Yeah, in a little bit. So they've allowed 20— they've allowed 20 or more points in 15 straight games. That's the longest in the NFL right now. The last team to have a streak that was that long was the Jaguars in 2019 through 2021. And that Jaguars team was so bad that they had the number 1 overall pick back-to-back years. That's how bad that team was. And the Cowboys are just as bad. Caleb Downs, bad game today. He got dribbled. Look on this, on this block. Who's that big boy in space? 72. Uh, just, I mean, it technically is a double dribble.
Yeah, We Are Big Guys said Froehld was literally dribbling Caleb Downs.
It's awesome. Just shoves him over twice. And then, uh, McBride. Yeah, talking shit to him, be like, dude, you were a first-round pick. Yeah, you suck. Yeah, I love that.
He broke him off on a route. He's like, you're a first-round pick, you're a first-round pick. Uh, not a great day for him. Yeah, I mean, the Cowboys are bad, but this— even for how bad the Cowboys are, this was just— you don't lose— you shouldn't lose games when you're up 14 in the 4th quarter and they're going to Gardner Minshew as the rescue option.
Yeah, but that's what Gardner does sometimes.
No, he does.
You're right, Gardner has that ability in him.
He's special. Now, who do the Cowboys have next? Do they— the fact that— the fact that you— the NFC East is such a shit show.
You know what, I have a take about that.
The Giants are good?
We're kind of, we're kind of being disrespectful to the Giants.
I, I think the Giants are good. I just—
I'm saying this as a Commanders fan, like, the talk of the Commanders still being in it because they, they win this game, um, and they're now going to be 2-4-1 is very disrespectful to the Giants because the Giants, I think, are a good team and they're a fun team. I think they're good.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
If not, yeah, Niner's playing out of his mind right now.
Yeah, no, I— they have not beaten anyone. I mean, the Texans win, actually, I should give them credit for that, right? But if you want to go by the Texans' current form, they've beaten the Cowboys who have 2 wins, the Titans who have 1 win, the Cardinals who now have 3 because they just beat the Cowboys, and the Texans who have 2 wins. Yeah, so Someone's got to win it. I mean, I do think they're the best NFC East team.
I think that if the records were similar right now, then yeah, it would be easy to say that. But they're— they are, what, 2 games ahead of the Commanders right now? Game and a half ahead. Well, I don't know.
Cowboys are ahead of you, right?
Yeah.
The Cowboys are still in second place, right?
I was saying they're, what, a game and a half ahead of the Cowboys?
The, the The Giants.
Let's see what the—
the Cowboys have 5 losses. The Giants—
Really fucks me up.
Yeah.
I mean, it's just, it's just a— yeah, the Giants are definitely better than everyone else in the NFC East. So yeah, I'll stop, I'll stop, I'll stop shitting on the Giants. I'm not even shitting on them. It's more just like the rest of the NFC East is just so bad.
Pretty bad.
This game is over, Max.
It's just not— this is not a football team. There's not a real football—
not a football team.
Tanner McKee is not— I don't think he threw— I don't think he threw over 5 yards in the second half. Every single play was just, I'm shitting my pants, I'm shitting my pants, check down to the running back.
Yeah, he's a true backup quarterback.
I don't even think he's that.
Well, no.
Yeah, I guess you're right. He's not even that. Should we call Pug?
Yeah, yeah, call Pug.
I mean, he's got to answer for this. Okay, I'm calling Pug. So PFT, you're clearly— with, with you saying that—
hold on.
Is he not?
What? Maybe he went to bed.
He gave up on him.
Your call has been forwarded. Wow.
Well, when you've lost Pug—
PFT, I have a question for you.
Yeah.
Are you still thinking the Commanders are going to win the NFC East? I feel like you might be.
No, no, no, because I just said— I just said the Giants— the Giants are—
but you made a little Freudian slip where you're like, the Commanders are only a game or like 2 games back when the Cowboys are still in second place.
No, I was— I was literally saying the Commanders are 2 games back and the Cowboys are a game and a half back. So that's why it's disrespectful to the Giants right now to have everybody talking about the other teams in the division besides them.
But what if you just win? Oh, Pug's calling me back. Pug. Whole team's broken. Okay, but what about Tanner McKee? Look, he let them on a drive. If we hit that field goal, he has a drive— it gets 13-19, and he has a chance to go down and maybe, maybe win it.
Yeah.
We just never got that chance.
Never got that chance. That chance never came.
He needs more time.
Yeah.
Okay.
With, with our offensive line just got fucking killed. They got no chance. You sound distressed. The team's broken.
Yeah.
Everything's broken. Season from hell. Yeah, you know, it's— teams have down years. That's part of football. Yeah, but I'm more worried about your Tanner McKee because you loved him. Yeah, you know, it's—
I still—
in the right system, healthy O-line, I promise you he can fucking sling it. Everything has to be cohesive. It's not cohesive right now.
You think it's Bazooka Joe's time?
They could do whatever they want. It's, it's, it's fucked.
It's over.
Yeah. All right, well, we love you, Pug.
Love you guys too.
All right, bye, Pug. Tanner still a beast. See ya.
Bye.
Tanner fucking sucks.
PFT, you could still win the East. Tell him, Max.
No.
Why not?
This team stinks.
No, I'm not telling you that.
This team stinks. Even when we do good shit, it backfires on us.
There's If you just won that game against the Giants—
Illegally in motion.
So different.
Chaisson had a great game, but for some reason he's just addicted to like shoving a guy, shoving the quarterback when he thinks the refs aren't looking. I don't trust Dan Quinn. The hat got turned backwards. He flip-flopped on the hat. You can't flip-flop on a hat.
You got some games you could win coming up if you beat the Giants.
I do like Fro 5. I like, I like, uh, Jayden with the fro. It's good luck.
Oh, Jeffrey Lurie, that, that is ominous. Remember that stat about firing coaches?
I do like that Jeffrey Lurie inducted himself into the Ring of Honor. That's a good move.
Yeah.
Oh, by the way, still Michael Bidwell, fuck you, dude. You're a loser. We don't like you.
Yeah.
Cardinals owner.
So after, after the game, when they talked to Jerry Jones, he did say This is a great quote from, from Jerry. Classic quote. I'm not pointing at Schotty. I'm not pointing at anybody.
Oh, okay.
So he like, he went out of his way to say, that guy right there, I'm not gonna— I'm not gonna say it's Schottenheimer's fault.
Everyone's thinking that I'm gonna point at this guy.
But I'm not gonna say that it's Schotty's fault because who knows, it might not be Schotty's fault.
That sounds like it's not Schotty's fault.
Mm-hmm.
But it definitely is. I mean, I could not believe the way that they they played down. They, they just— they didn't respect Gardner Minshew is what they didn't do. What they did, just play like you have an offense that is supposed to be an elite offense. You're in field goal range, you're, you're in the red zone, just score a touchdown and end the game. They score a touchdown in either of those spots, they take one shot to the end zone. Like, also, George Pickens still is the best ever because he had one of the funniest plays, uh, where he was, was down the most down you could ever be after catching the ball, popped up, ran to the end zone, did a full celebration. Not only was he down, but there was also a flag, a hold on the Cowboys that came all the way back. So it was like doubly not a touchdown, but very, very funny from, from George Pickens. He's the best. I love him so much whenever he does that shit. Okay, next game. Actually, let's do a couple ads and then we'll get to the next game. Raiders-Jets. You ready, memes?

Okay. Raiders 38, Jets 33 memes.
So I don't really know where to start with this game other than the fact that today was a really good day for the Jets.
Go on.
Colts lost, Cowboys lost, and the Jets lost.
The Jets lost. So where— yeah, take a thought.
I believe we have 3 top 10 picks.
This also was, I'll say it, very entertaining game.
Great game. Very entertaining game. The offense is not the problem.
All right. So the Jets right now have the 4th pick, the 6th pick, and the 10th pick.
Whoo!
That's pretty nice.
Arsenal.
It was a good day in the fact that you have 3 top 10 picks and you've clearly identified what the problems are.
Which are?
Defense.
Bad.
They got— they got nobody on defense. But at the same time, they're all Aaron Glenn's handpicked guys.
Yeah.
And like—
And he's a defensive coach.
And he's the defensive coach.
Kirk Cousins. tore you up.
Anybody, everybody tears us up.
Yeah.
And it was to— they just— the Raiders have just built the entire plane out of tight ends. He threw to— he threw to 4 guys: Michael Mayer, Brock Bowers, Ashton Gente, and who was the other one who got—
who?
Naylor. That was it. 4 guys. 4 guys caught passes.
Yeah. Back-to-back weeks The Jets lost to a team that didn't have wide receivers.
Yeah. Yeah. One wide receiver that caught it, caught passes. Then the other 2 were— the other 3 were just tight ends and running back.
What do you think about Kirk Cousins doing a little celebration? That weird little dance that he did?
I mean, it's fine.
He called it his wellness dance. I don't know what that means, but he said that he had been telling the guys he was going to do a wellness dance if he scored a touchdown. And then it looked like he was grinding pepper or something. I didn't really understand it.
He's like doing the stanky elbow.
Yeah, the stinky elbow. Yeah. He said they asked him about it after his touchdown third quarter. He said, we do a lot of tissue work here. At my age, it's especially helpful. That was his explanation of what the dance move was. So I have no idea what the fuck Kirk Cousins was doing. He just started talking about his tissues.
Yeah, I mean, it was, it was a fine dance.
Uh, Braylon Allen's good.
Braylon Allen's good. A.D. Mitchell's good. Yeah, Wilson's good.
Your offense is good.
Offense is good. Offense is fun.
You got to finish drives.
You got to— they're terrible on short yardage. Yeah, if they could finish in short yardage, they'd be a top 5 scoring offense in the league.
The first 6 drives for the Jets in this game got to the Raiders red zone. Like, they went to the red zone every single time and then they got 3 field goals, 3 touchdowns. If any of those are a touchdown, it changes the course of the game. It's just defense is so bad.
It's brutal. And they got called out by Ash and Gente.
Yeah. Which in the week, by the way, he was right. No, but he was right.
He was right. Yeah.
He said that. He said it's a get-right game for the running game. He said guys that don't want to tackle and Mike Washington went for 83 yards.
Yeah.
You can't say we're going to get right and then get right.
Yeah, well, also you can't say you're gonna get right and then, uh, get 2 carries, which Ash Njenti also did. He was effectively benched. They shut him down. He called a get-right game and then got benched.
He did have the one big play.
He did have a, uh, yeah, he caught, he caught the ball well, but he got 2 carries. And he said, he said that coach was like, hey, we're— you're not gonna be like the featured back right now. It's not great for Ashton Gentry, the fact that Mike Washington looked pretty good with the same offensive line. But I guess it was a get-right game. So Ashton Gentry missed out on his get-right game. But yeah, that's a, that's a weird thing to call out, being like, yeah, they have guys that don't tackle, and then again be basically benched and, and made RB2.
Yeah. Um, and also the get-right game wasn't even that great for Mike Washington.
Well, it was because he's a backup running back.
It was good for him. Yeah. But it's not like they, they ran a lot of over the Jets. Uh, what do you think about Geno's play today, Memes? Are you still thinking that Geno is looking for stats?
No, he played, he played, he played well.
I thought he looked okay today.
Yeah, he was slinging it. He was definitely looking to get some getback.
And then, is Mason Taylor okay?
He hurt his lower back.
Yeah, it looked bad. It looked bad. But I will say, credit to Mason Taylor. Uh, he lands on his back And then knows that there's going to be a 10-second runoff if they have to use like an official timeout to get him off the field. So he somehow like rolled off the field to get treatment in order to give a little bit more time on the clock to try to win the game. That was, that was a gutsy— not going to show up in the stat sheet. That's a gutsy play by Mason Taylor.
Yeah, real gutsy. I wish there was a point, like if there's a point in your season, you know, the season's over, you should just end it. Like today, I want the season to just be—
Max shaking his head. Yes.
I would love for this season because everybody could just rest up.
You know what you have. You know what's bad. It would be— let's just move on.
Maybe, maybe the NFL has to move to like the, the eliminator, like Survivor eliminator. Yeah. Guillotine rules. Tap out after week 8. You can tap out until you have like 3 teams left.
Just, just be done.
No, I like— no, no, I like what Memes is saying. I think Memes is right. Memes should be allowed to tap out. But teams like the Eagles, if you're— if you have a good team or like the Chiefs last year, you should be forced to watch.
What?
Yeah, you should be forced to watch your team be bad.
Sure.
OK, I know what he's saying.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying, Memes?
I know what he's saying.
Yeah.
Yeah.
If you had a Super Bowl recently.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You should— you should have to experience it.
It's like Ohio State fans, like they love—
You love injuries. You love injuries. You root for injuries.
What?
That's basically what you're saying. You're happy that the Eagles are this bad and Eagles fans have to watch a bad team this bad?
No, I'm saying— no, I'm saying if you do have a bad team and you have historically a really good team, you should— you should have to tap in, gain a little empathy for how the rest of us have to live every year.
It's— it's like Ohio State fans freaking out because this was The first time in 15 years they took their second loss before November 1st.
Yeah.
And they're all just having a, like, meltdown. It's guys, dude.
Yep.
Welcome to how the rest of us live.
Yep.
It ain't fun.
Nope. Got to go through it sometimes, though. Can't fast forward life. That's what I always say.
Yeah.
Memes. I'm with you on the rule.
Yeah.
And the other way this was also a good loss Supposedly there was some murmuring that if the Jets would have won, this would have gave Woody Johnson confidence in Aaron Glenn to just give him a— give him an excuse to keep him around for next year.
Oh, so he's fired.
This was a murmur game.
Well, no, he has a 5-year contract and he has 3 years left. So Woody Johnson's looking for an excuse to keep him around.
Oh, so it's not a fired game, but it's a step in the firing direction game.
This is essentially just like every single fan's done with him. And it's like, you better fire him at the end of the year.
Yeah. Okay.
I mean, it was, it was an away game today. The Jets were driving on their final drive and there was a defense chance.
Oof. That's bad with the Raiders.
That's not good. How did the last 2 minutes of the first half go?
Got 3 points, outscored them 3-0.
There you go. All right. Don't let Woody find out.
I will say this about the Raiders. They're not good, but they're a fun not good because they, they give up a ton of points. And they can score points like they're a fun not good team. That's a— every team that's bad should have to have a good offense and a bad defense. That's how you build a fun watch. What, Max, why are you shaking your head?
Just thinking about— I'm— that wasn't meant for you. That was more internally in my head. Then my team is just not a fun watch.
No, you guys are the opposite, correct? You're like, your defense isn't so, so bad and your offense is so, so bad, right?
Like the Chargers, not a fun watch.
No, terrible watch.
Bummer watch.
Terrible, terrible one.
Raiders.
Raiders.
Jets are kind of in the fun watch territory.
Jets are fun.
Yeah, no, they're fun. And I mean, the defense is fun. I've always wondered what like this kind of game would look like.
Yeah.
Like, I'm not— The last time they scored more than 30 points was wild.
Yeah.
I also think that the Titans might be transitioning from not fun watch to fun watch.
Yeah, they could.
It also might just be that they played against the Bengals.
Yeah.
Yep. 100%. But they've been fun.
I'm hoping that that's, that's the direction they're going. Yeah.
You're bet— the bad— the health of the league would be a lot better if the bad teams were still fun watching.
Right. I was saying today that it does seem like there's a lot of of a lot of the bad teams, not all of them, but a lot of the bad teams are still like they'll still put points on the board. Yeah. And there'll be some fireworks. You can look at the Cardinals like that. You can look at the Raiders like that. It makes Sunday a little bit better.
Yeah, absolutely.
Also, the Jets aren't winning a game for the rest of the year.
Wait, that's not true.
Stop it.
That's not true.
OK, hold on.
Are you really?
Because I think I saw they got the Chargers at the Chiefs. All right.
So they're going to beat the Chargers at the Chargers. There you go. At the Dolphins. You guys could beat the Dolphins.
Our Chiefs next week. Bills, Chargers, Dolphins, Broncos, Cardinals. Could scrappy Patriots, Vikings, Bills. Okay. So yeah, there's 3 chances. 2.5 chances.
2.5 chances.
2.5 chances feels right. Give you half a chance.
the Cardinals.
But you might throw in a win somewhere.
But memes, the Colts, they might not win a game.
But goddamn memes. I'll say too, like, not only obviously it sucks, but big picture, this is like got to be one of the most fun bad teams because you not only have good young offensive weapons, Sadiq, Braylon Allen, Eddie Mitchell, Garrett Wilson, all that. But you also have 3 picks. So you have like—
Yeah, this is— this was a phenomenal day.
Yeah, like this is— this is— if you're— if you're gonna be bad, you— you are— you're doing bad in style. Do you know what I mean?
Yeah, if they didn't have those 2 other picks, it—
Like imagine being the Colts right now. The Colts don't have their first-round pick and they are just dogshitting in hell. You guys are doing it in style. You guys are like, yeah, you're, you're like putting on a tux and being bad in style.
Yeah, it's fun. It's a lot of fun. Never thought we'd be here, but it's fun.
Have you given any more thought to who you want in the draft?
As a quarterback, all defense.
What quarterback?
Messmaker.
Zesty for Messy.
Yep.
Or CJ Carr. But I've officially made my stance on Mestey.
OK. Even though I think he's going to go to the Chargers.
Hank, what are your thoughts on the Jets?
Oh, it's the Jets.
They're the Jets. Jets are the Jets.
Are you a little worried they have 3 picks? No.
In the top 10, though, 3 picks.
They've had plenty. How many top 10 picks have they had the last 20 years?
Not ever 3 at the same time.
Yeah.
Doesn't matter.
They could just—
I don't think any teams ever—
They could take Mensah, Mestey-Maker, and CJ Carr. And just see which one is good.
Honestly, not a bad strategy.
I mean, they'll trade at least one of them. Teams have had 2 draft picks in the top 10 before.
Bears.
Look at them now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Roman Caleb worked out.
3 is so many though.
It's one more than 2.
Yeah.
33% more.
It's one less than 4.
50% more.
Some would say the perfect amount.
I don't know how percents work. I just found out that it's out of 100.
All right, uh, next up, Bucs 16, Falcons 0. Watch out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Zach. I get— I walk back my— so last Monday I said that, and I do believe this, they have the, the most reliable unit in the NFC South. I think their defense is the best unit in the NFC South. What gave me hesitation was Todd Bowles' existence as a person, but I gotta say, 2 weeks in a row, credit to Todd Bowles. This game, you can't— you could not pass in this game. The Bucs said, hey, we can't pass in this game, we're not gonna pass in this game. The Falcons said, hey, we're gonna try to pass in this game, and Michael Penix is going to throw 4 picks and have— Baker Mayfield had a better QB rating than Michael Penix. Baker Mayfield went 0 for 3 for 0 yards.
I understand your hesitation the last couple days It was a dominant win.
Yeah, you guys are back.
Yeah, showed up to a divisional game, goose-egged them, and the defense said, give me that, 4 times. Yeah, what more can you ask for?
It was a, it was a very, very smart game plan, and you didn't— I feel like the Bucs probably adapted on the fly once they saw how bad it was and how effective the running game was. They made a smart decision, which is, no, we're just not going to try to pass.
And Bucky Irving was a beast.
Bucky Irving was great. Um, the defense Really, really good, Zach. You guys have— yeah, you've got an identity now. It would be helpful if part of that identity was involving the quarterback position a little bit.
Certainly. But I almost look at it as another week for the thumb to heal. Yeah.
Yeah.
If we can't throw it as much as you would like to, establish a run. Uh, the elements coming out was nice because, I mean, the Falcons play inside. So no, look, we'll get a little wet. No, nothing wrong with that.
It was the highest run rate since, uh, that Monday Night Football game that we went to in Buffalo. Buffalo, where it was so windy.
Dope.
Yeah.
And now look, the— I mean, is anyone joining me on Buck Island? Are we still thinking Falcons? You're still thinking Panthers? I think the— I know the Bucs have a couple tough— they come to Chicago next Sunday and then at Detroit, but then they have a little stretch where it's, you know, depending on who's playing for the Ravens, they have Carolina at home, Chargers at home, Ravens, Saints. Like, I, I think the Bucs, if they can go 1-1 in the next 2, like, this isn't— the offensive line is elite and the defense is very good.
I'm a resident on the island. All is welcome.
Do you PFT?
Well, I'm concerned about the island because it's hard to get to the stadium. Like, it's tough to get to games on time from the island.
No, that's the Trop.
Okay.
This is—
the Trop's landlocked.
This is a different—
But Trop's like peninsula though too.
Okay.
I'm still— I'm Buck curious right now.
Are you staying with the Falcons?
Falcons are still— that's my main bitch.
Okay.
If this game was played— I, I can't remember the last time the Atlanta Falcons won a game in the rain. They just seem like a team that's never— one, probably never played in the rain before. 2, I've never seen the Falcons win in any sort of precipitation. Yeah, they are a dome franchise.
I don't know what the plan was today with the Falcons. I mean, Like Michael Penix, he threw 4 picks and he looked so bad. And yes, it was a lot of the weather, but why, why even, why even test the weather?
Yeah, I actually think Tua would have been better today just because they wouldn't have tried to throw it.
Cooper Rush.
Cooper Rush would have been better today.
Yeah, it was—
I—
Todd Bowles, great game plan. Bucky Irving was awesome.
I also don't think we can blame all 4 picks on the weather. The defense played fantastic.
Yeah, yeah, true.
No, I agree. No, and Kenny Gainwell was awesome. I mean, they ran the ball down their throat. They just didn't— they— it's crazy to watch a game and be like, this team is not going to pass. We were looking at it in the 3rd quarter. Baker's completions over-under was 3.5.
Yeah.
And it's like everyone knows they're not going to pass and there's nothing you can do about it. It was like old school, almost like a service academy, just being like, we're going to run it down your throat.
I believe it was 3 attempts for the entire game.
Yeah.
Yep. So they're the first team to win by double digits without completing a pass since the 1945 Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Chicago Cardinals 23-0 in Week 8. I looked up that, that Steelers team in 1945. On the season—
Yeah.
You saw this? Yeah. On the season, their total for pass attempts and completions, there were 61 of 165. on the year for 652 yards passing on the year, 0 touchdown passes, and 21 interceptions. That's a hell of a stat line right there. I also finished 2-8.
So the game that you refer— you're referring to, uh, Bill Dudley went 0 for 6 and Bus Warren went 0 for 2. And I was like, that's a weird name, Bus Warren. His real name was Buist Lamb Warren. B-U-I-S-T. I didn't even know that was a name.
Buist.
Buist. I don't know.
What's that short?
I don't know.
They called him Buzz or Boss.
That's way better.
Buist. Lamb Warren. And they both— I think both the— it's pretty crazy, you know, like when you see 1945, like, oh, what's going on here? Both, both their quarterbacks served in the Army and the Navy. So it's pretty cool. And then the other game that this happened in a win was 1974. The Bills beat the Jets 16 to 12. Joe Ferguson was the quarterback for the Bills. He went 0 for 2. Joe Namath was the quarterback for the Jets. He went 2 for 18 for 33 yards and 3 interceptions. Leading rusher in the game, O.J. Simpson.
Oh, wow.
So Bucky Irving, be careful.
Well, yeah. Good for you, Bucky. Yeah, pretty low bar to clear, though.
But yeah, it was also just incredible mud on the jerseys. Like, the Bucs looked awesome.
Did you see Muddlin' Cheerleaders too? They had a rain game.
They were stomping in there.
Yeah, I respected the hell out of them. They were wearing the standard kit, right? Yeah, they had, they had no poncho on, nothing like that. They were like, listen, if everyone's going to get wet, we're going to get wet.
And they didn't, didn't miss a beat.
Nope. So are you full? You're full back on because these next 2 games will be— I'm listening. I'm not overlooking— I got to worry about the Seahawks Monday night. I don't think the Bucs are bad. Like, their defense is good. This isn't going to be— they're not a— they're a 3-5 team, but I think they're better than that right now.
I'm like emotionally fan still in. If we split one of the next, the next 2 games, I'm like objectively it makes sense to be in back in.
Yeah.
Because you also are undefeated in the South right now. You still have 2 games against the Saints who are the worst team in the South.
It's our division to lose.
Yeah.
So I look at it.
And you're home, you have a home game against the Panthers.
Wow.
Look at that.
Baker's thumb. I mean, Baker, it's what a, what a comeback for Baker. He's, he's 2-0 with 64 yards in the last 2 games.
The last 2 weeks he's attempted 14 passes. They have 572 rush yards, 8 takeaways, 6 sacks, and a blocked kick.
I'm telling you, this defense is good.
Yeah.
Defense is good.
If the defense can stay this disciplined and We kind of keep the run game we've established. If you add even like a marginal amount of like air attack to the team, I feel like we're in a fantastic spot.
How many quarterbacks could have won this game today for Tampa Bay?
I think, I think maybe us, one of us.
You think we could have? We could have done it?
I think we could have done it.
Although we should say probably the coolest play of the day was Baker avoiding that sack, then throwing it backwards to Bucky, and then Bucky having it unfortunately hit out of his hands at the goal line by Jesse Bates. That was— that was this game in one nutshell. Like, where it's just like everything happening, no real rhythm, no— you can't even throw a forward pass, and then a fumble.
Sometimes you don't got to go forward with the pass.
Yeah. Yeah. You know, it's a great play. Jesse Bates Quietly putting together an incredible season.
Yeah, yeah. I, uh, saw the stat was, uh, the leading pass catchers in this game were Kyle Pitts with 2, uh, Jahan Dotson with 2, and Alex Anzalone with 2.
Yeah, in the first quarter, right?
Alex Anzalone plays defense.
Yep.
So his hair is so sick. It is when he takes it off. It was wet today. It was Fucking sick.
Really sick.
So yeah, 3-5, half a game behind Carolina, and they've beaten them, and they're next to— and their Carolina game is at home. I don't— I mean, they have a tough schedule, but like, the fact that they've beaten both the Falcons and the Panthers is pretty significant. If they can do it again and sweep the series, like, the Bucs might be able to win the South by just going 6-0 Yeah.
It's the NFC South, man.
Yeah.
Continue that reign of dominance as one of the best teams in the league for the first half of the 2020s.
Yeah. And look at it. It all started with Jalen Daniels in Dallas.
25-2 times.
The thing I always admire about the NFC South is they've been consistently, you know, pretty bad for the last 10 years or so. Obviously, Tom Brady's teams are pretty special, but they, they tend to be a bad division, but they're always super competitive. And you never know what's going to happen.
I think just football in the South.
Yeah.
I mean, they do have a Super Bowl in the last, yeah, 6 years, which a lot of divisions can't say.
Yeah. So look, any teams who go to, like, go to practice in most days, it's like in the 90s, it's going to be— even if it's bad football, you breed different athletes when they play in that kind of heat all the time. So NFC South, even if there's bad teams, those guys are tough, man.
Yeah, they're tough. All right. Let's go AFC South real quick. Jaguars 42, Colts 7. Hank, hand up. Yeah.
I was right about the Giants. Hit the nail on the head.
Oh, you said last—
I saw a hungry dog.
Yeah.
I was dead wrong about the Colts.
Yeah.
They are the deadest, most noncompetitive football team.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Other than the Chargers that I've ever seen.
Yeah, I, I think they might be worse.
I, I think so too, because they're just—
Well, they went from like kind of frisky to just completely dead in a matter of 3 weeks.
Yeah.
Yeah. And Daniel Jones is in— they're all in hell. They're all in hell. This game was absolute laugher. I mean, you were covering for a quarter. I'll say that.
It didn't feel— it felt like it was over from the first drive.
But yeah, you were covering for a quarter.
The Jaguars helmets kind of gave me hope. I was like, these, these helmets, they look like these are clown helmets. I know we talked about it earlier and they can wear whatever they want, but those helmets were gross.
Yeah. The thing was, like, this was such a laugher and then they just completely took their foot off the gas in the 4th quarter.
Mm-hmm. Shane Steichen's fired, right?
Yeah.
Also, Carly Urshay, like, that, that hat was ridiculous for how bad the Colts are going right now. You can't be wearing a hat that swagged out. I feel like you gotta, you gotta go the tiny, tiny logo hat. Don't you think? Yeah, like it's, it's bad.
You don't know fashion.
To me, to me, that hat—
she was—
yeah, she did. She was swagged out. She looked awesome.
That hat to me—
those bedazzled AirPods.
They are. I like the glasses too.
That's right up your alley. Her outfit, her outfit is right up here.
I could wear— I could pull that off for sure. I have probably worn that.
But I'm saying from—
she has the Colts hat, is the pin on the top incredible?
I'm just saying, if you're a Colts player, it's like we got to, we got to match the mood, right? She's got the Colts handkerchief.
Like, I think that's—
if you're a Colts player, you're gassing her up being like, you look great.
Yeah.
Give me another contract.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hey, the owner can—
she does look great.
I'm just saying, can wear whatever they want. Hey, Mrs. C, how you doing? I'm just saying, with her, that's her Florida outfit. She was going to Florida today. Yeah. She's going to wear something fashionable. That is that. If I'm looking at this picture, that picture, that's like, that's meth. That is meth personified.
Yeah.
Well, I don't think the Florida outfit thing plays for Jacksonville.
Why?
Because I feel like it's different. It's not Miami.
Yeah.
It's not like it's Miami.
I didn't say it was Miami. That's Florida. I'm saying that's like, that's, that's, that's dirty Florida. Okay. That's like that real fancy—
That—
yeah, I was thinking she looks fancy. She looks like she's trying to do Miami. Yeah, she looks like—
yeah.
Although I don't know if that hat is Miami.
That hat's Jacksonville.
That's the sunglasses and the, and the bedazzled AirPods or whatever. That feels like—
I actually, I don't fucking know. I think, I think the hat is Jacksonville formal. I think that the Miami aspect to this outfit was her thinking, I'm going to go to Florida and it's an excuse to wear the thing that you would wear in Miami. But they're only going to Jacksonville.
But what I'm saying is I feel like with how bad the Colts are, you got to just like— you got to wear like black, like, you know, you got to match the mood. It's a funeral.
You got to—
yeah, the team is just in, in hell. The fans are in hell. Shane Steichen is going to be fired if he's not fired. Like, I wouldn't be surprised if he's fired by the time this podcast posted.
Counterpoint, though. 5-dimensional chess move. We're talking about Karli Irsay's outfit right now. as the focal point instead of the Colts. So she drew away all the attention.
True. That's true.
Good move, Queen.
Colts are bad.
They're very bad. I also think that this outfit is just her— like, she's, she's giving herself confidence because she is about to fire literally everybody.
Oh, the Jags weren't even playing in Jacksonville. They're playing in Orlando.
Orlando.
Yeah, right.
Yeah.
Yeah. So then maybe she was going to Disney World or something.
She's—
that, that's her outfit that she puts on when she means business, when people are about to get the ax.
Uh, the Jags. Yeah, I don't really know what to say other than the Jags are just significantly better than the Colts. Their defense looked good. Tootin' is awesome.
I—
that was the one thing I wanted to bring up. Do you remember, PFT, uh, a couple years ago when we had a generational running back draft?
Go on.
That's what it was called. A generational running back draft.
Yeah.
Tooten is the best running back from that draft, and he was drafted in the 4th round. The draft went Gente with the 6th pick.
Mm-hmm.
Amariyan Hampton with the 22nd pick. Quinshon Judkins with the 36th pick. Travion with 38th. RJ Harvey at 60. Caleb Johnson, who's already been traded, at 83.
Yeah.
Then Tooten at 104. That was a— we met, I remember, I mean, you guys remember, it was 2 years ago. It was like, this is the draft, all the running backs, Tootin's the best one. He's a fucking monster. Every single day, every single game, he just goes off.
Yeah.
And actually the second best, well, Scadaboo went at 105, and I still think Scadaboo's good. The second best might be my guy, Minungai. It's in the 7th round.
Yeah.
It's crazy to look back at that draft and be like, Like, where are all these guys that were supposed to be like impact running backs right away?
They fell for the flash early and like all the physical dudes dropped.
Yeah.
Uh, Tootin is, is a lot of fun to watch. He is, he's a legitimately really good player. And, uh, yeah, the, the Jaguars are just, they're operating on a different level.
Yeah, they're, they're, and their defense is, is flying around. They had that, uh, they had the 92-yard pick-6. I mean, they just beat, and they also did the, the thing which Maybe Liam Cohn did this on purpose, but he was like, the Jaguars, the one thing that's been troubling them is the red zone offense. Remember when they went to Europe and it was like, what's going on here with the goal line stuff? They were just like, we'll just not go in the red zone today. They scored from a 31-yard touchdown, a 39-yard touchdown, 28-yard touchdown, 25-yard touchdown.
Mm-hmm.
That's a good way to solve it. You should never have to go in the red zone.
So yeah, Andrew Luck was the last quarterback for the Colts to win in Jacksonville. They haven't won in Jacksonville since the Obama administration.
Anthony Richardson got in, Hank.
Yeah, he looked good.
Did he?
Like, like physically, like the way, like—
He looked healthy.
Drake Maye, when he was talking about AJ Brown, like looking cool in the huddle.
Yeah.
Anthony Richardson looked good on the field.
Okay. It's good. Yeah.
Okay.
It gives you a little boost. Yeah, sure.
Are they?
I hope that they just start them. Let them play some games. Might as well become a— become a fun, bad team.
What did Seth DeFlow say? How it started in August, how it's currently November. More Seth is coming. Oh, that has nothing to do with the Colts.
Did you see the song for this week, though?
No.
Yeah, it was. It was sad that I wish I could have Reverse the hungry dog right then.
It is.
Didn't you?
You could have. It's some dark times in Indianapolis.
He posted this on Friday.
I know, I just like—
I, I don't know.
You posted the hungry dog on Sunday morning.
We talk about it on the show though.
Yeah, you do this to me every week.
Yeah, listen to how sad this— I've never seen Seth like this before.
Yeah, it's my fault. This is the Scottie Scheffler picture.
Never seen this before. This is all close.
Oh no. We bleed blue.
This is our Colts, whether win or lose. Thank God Ballard's fired. For the shoe, beat the Jags. Let's jack up Jacksonville. This is our team. Go Colts! Hey, come on boys, let's get it!
Just sad.
Sad stuff, you know.
Damn.
Bring out the tarp.
Damn. It's time.
Oh man, cults are a bummer. They're in hell.
What?
Were you talking about shooting Seth?
That's what they do. I was talking about that horse, whatever that horse was. So that's what you do with a horse.
You want to kill Seth?
No, the horse. The horse. That's what you do with a sick horse, Hank.
That's not a horse though. That's Seth the Flow.
Oh, because he was wearing a— yeah, I guess he was wearing a mask, but it looked like a horse.
Yeah.
Yeah. No, I love Seth the Flow.
Yeah.
I'm just saying like, it's a bad— this is a bad, bad time. Bad time in Indy.

Okay.
Afternoon games, Patriots 24, Dolphins 19. Hank, that was a scary one for you. Little scary.
I think I hit the nail on the head when we talked about the show on Friday's show. Patriots. I was not worried about the Patriots winning. I said they probably were not going to cover. They should have covered, but the first half was ugly. They took complete control of the game in the second half, still got backdoored, but a win is a win, especially in Miami. We struggle in Miami. Tough conditions, no receivers. Drake Maye found a way.
Yeah. Yeah. It was, it was Pop Douglas, right?
And then Nobody else.
Yeah, because Hunter Henry went out.
Kyle Williams.
Kyle Williams. Yeah.
Yeah.
You guys were really bad in the first half and then basically just flipped like almost— it was almost like a, hey, you're the Patriots and they're the Dolphins second half. Like, what are you doing?
Yeah, the defense, defense stepped up. They had 2 interceptions. The second interception, they got called back for an offsides, which was not an offsides or neutral zone infraction, whatever. Defense stepped up, made Malik Willis be Malik Willis, which is a smart strategy. And Drake Maye played great second half.
He played pretty much a perfect game.
Yeah.
So it's gonna be tough for Glenn.
Glenn finds a way.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Glenn might be— Glenn might just dedicate his next week to figuring out how to, how to fix the Vikings offense.
That's interesting.
If that Vikings offense was like halfway Halfway not bad. Yeah. They don't even have to be average.
Yeah.
Halfway not bad. That's a special team.
Yeah.
Drake Maye's 5th straight game with 3 touchdowns.
Sick, sick touchdown. Hezzy Hay, what?
For the run.
For the run touchdown. 2 bombs in terrible conditions. Again, like they did everything except for cover him. But that was again, when it's the— when you're playing the Dolphins in Miami, that just happens.
Yeah. Chop Robinson is really good.
Yep.
That's all I got for the— I mean, Malik Willis is Malik Willis. You're right. Like, he had a couple plays. He had actually 2 drives in the first half. We're like, oh shit, the Dolphins, like, they're playing ball control. This is nice. And then it's just— there was that one, that one play where he, he scrambled left and then tried to tried to square his body to throw it and just got absolutely demolished. Like, dude, you can't— what are you doing? But yeah, that was a—
I actually have not looked. I was about to, but I— we're at home versus the Packers next week. Whose line is it anyway?
Ooh, Patriots 1.5.
How long is AJ Brown out? Hold on, don't, don't pull AJ Brown.
The Eagles— AJ Brown might never That's the thing.
The Patriots—
You're blaming the Eagles?
Yeah. Go on.
I saw people on, on, on X, the everything app. It's all happening on X. So who knows the validity of it being like, oh yeah, like everyone in the Eagles organization knew like his knee was a ticking time bomb.
And— Wouldn't that be the Patriots' responsibility?
I guess.
I guess. You mean, I guess.
Just in good faith.
Yeah.
It's bad faith.
Oh, bad faith.
You sold him damaged goods.
It's bad faith. It's bad faith. That was bad faith.
You knew his knee was fucked.
Sure. Sorry.
So he's—
thanks for the first-round pick.
So he's, he's out for a while.
He's out for the next couple weeks, but it feels like it's, it's a while.
But you guys win without him.
Yeah, but would be great if we had— imagine, imagine how good we would be with him.
Well, well, not with a bad knee.
Yeah.
All right. I'm gonna say it's ankle sprain. I'm gonna say Patriots -2.5.
I'm gonna say 1.5.
I'm gonna say 3.
Patriots -3?
Yep.
It is Patriots -3.
Okay.
Okay.
All right.
That's an exciting game.
I think that's a, that's a fair line.
Yeah.
But yeah. And we got, we got Packers, we got Lions.
That looks like it's going to 2.5, by the way.
Oh, what's the juice?
Trying to grab. It looks like that's going to be a Packers people are going to It's -118 to +3. So if you're trying to bet it, if you like the points, do it now. Wait, it just went— it just went to 2.5.
Oh, shit.
That's crazy.
That was crazy. That was nuts. Yeah, it'll probably bounce around there.
Yeah, Hank, I think that— I think that whatever adjustment they made at halftime, it worked. These are all promising signs. And I think that you continue to win without AJ Brown. I actually think that the offense might be better without AJ Brown.
Okay, terrible take, but that, that's—
just look at— just look, we haven't played—
we played like one game with him.
Okay.
Uh, that was a quick grade of a take.
Well, the, the—
let's—
I mean, we can just look at—
well, it's just like PFT on the Patriots and it's like something most likely a bad take.
Seahawks.
I mean, he's dropped every ball that's been thrown to him.
And the thing is, you have Max Tell me I'm right about this. When, when he's in that huddle, yeah, you know that you have to get him the ball. But yeah, you have to involve him, force it, or else you risk losing him and losing his interest in the game. And if he's not catching the ball, actually kind of a downturn for your offense.
Sounds like a— this sounds like a project for Glenn.
The other—
are the Patriots better or worse with AJ Brown?
It's—
I mean, I, I think it's kind of indisputable. So I grade Hank's grade of my take an F-minus.
Wow.
The, the referee crew for this game should be like fired, banned, never allowed to, to referee again.
Okay.
The Kyle Williams touchdown, he caught it, clearly a catch, ran 10 steps, went in the end zone, it hit his knee in the end zone and, and it went out of bounds.
Yeah.
The crazy part was—
They called it an incompletion.
Yeah, that was crazy. I do think they should have reviewed it because you don't know where he hit the ball with his knee.
Fair.
That could have been a fumble out of bounds.
Fine, no problem. But to call it an incompletion, like the fact that like was called on the field as an incompletion.
Why do you care so much about— you got— you ended up getting the call. You've been talking about this all day because— and it didn't affect the game at all.
If you're a referee and you saw that happen and said incomplete, you should not have a job.
That's my— that is my point. Like, it doesn't matter.
It affected the game zero.
But it— those referees should not be refereeing other games. They also, like, the, the, the interception, it didn't end up mattering. I mean, it did end up mattering for like the COVID but it— they called a guy neutral zone infraction when he just wasn't, and that, that stopped an interception. But the— watch the play and tell me like how a referee saw this play and called it an incompletion. It did lead the, the Mike Vrabel probably, probably challenge of the year.
Yeah.
Good toss of the year.
Good toss.
Flag toss of the year.
Yes, memes. To Hank's point, this crew was moved off of Sunday Night Football from bad officiating and moved on to this game.
Thank you.
Wow.
Thank you.
So it's OK for them to officiate other games, just not the ones that a lot of people watch. It's what they're saying.
That's what they're saying.
Yes.
Yeah. I actually think what Hank's doing is extremely noble. Hank is saying he saw something bad. He doesn't want another franchise to have to go through with what he just suffered through. Yeah. Thank you.
I'll keep— I'll be keeping an eye on this crew.
See something, say something.
Keep that energy. Hank, I would like you to grade these officials today and next week? But yeah, what's your grade on them today?
D.
Oh, that's not that bad.
Yeah, it's not. It's not good.
Yeah, F would have been way worse.
Yeah, I personally would have given— yeah, passing.
I don't think—
is D passing?
I passed some courses with these.
Yeah, I guess you do. Wait, do you?
F is fail.
Yeah.
I didn't know. Yeah, I guess D is passing.
He's passing.
Yeah. So they're fine, I guess.
But no, if you can't, you can't. They're not eligible. You can't get D's and still be eligible. They should be. They should be. They're academically ineligible to referee.
Okay.
Okay. And how do you feel? You have—
so you said Packers, Packers, Lions, bye, Packers, Germany, bye.
So that's—
those are big 2 games coming up.
Yeah.
How you feeling about them?
Feel good. 2-0. I feel like division's back, back in our hands.
Division's back in your hands.
Split. You split, you go into the bye, you come back, regroup for a strong second half of the year. And then—
Bills are 6-1.
I know.
Okay.
Your understanding of like where you are in the division—
It's how I feel. It's how I feel.
That's your feeling of the division.
The Bills aren't going to end the season—
right now you're the 7th seed.
I understand that.
I don't—
Where would you say you feel right now?
I feel like the Bills are going to lose another game, not against the Patriots, lose their next game against the Patriots, and then we're going to be in the same spot.
So where do you feel though overall? Like, are you the 2 seed, 1 seed, possibly 1 seed?
Yeah, 2 or 1 seed. Yeah, that's how it feels.
So you're, you're 7 seed, but we also—
yeah, we got to get, we got to get our receivers back. We got it. We got to get healthy.
Well, no, not AJ. Yeah, I want to trade AJ Brown.
I want AJ.
Trade deadline coming up soon. Trade for Jonathan Taylor.
People were tossing out Travion for Jonathan Taylor and some picks. I'm not opposed to that.
Yeah, I mean, Jonathan Taylor is a really good player.
I know.
I like this feel versus where you are.
Feel versus real.
Because it's not—
feel versus real.
It's not always the same.
No, definitely isn't.
And if it— like, we're trending big game next week. Fox, is it, is it the Game of the Week?
Yes.
So another, another big— we have like no, no more 1 o'clock games until like late December.
Tom Brady coming back.
Slate kind of stinks next week.
Does it?
Tom Brady, the one—
the noon games are— there's finding a main game on for the noon slate is going to be tough.
What's Monday Night Football next week?
Monday Night Football is good.
OK.
We have this game.
Terrible.
Yeah. Holy shit.
Bad.
OK, hold on.
Let me look.
Let me look.
Shootout.
Let me look.
Broncos-Panthers.
Boom.
Yeah, we're just— if we're trying to find a game that has like any type of stakes, that's the best one.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But like, that's not it.
No, no, no. Rams-Commanders.
I'm not— I'm not standing on a soapbox.
That's the game.
The Eagles-Giants is the biggest rat line of all time.
We're going to have to get creative next week with the cave parlay.
How are the Giants only 2.5-point favorites against the Eagles?
That's respect for the Giants, though.
No, it's not.
That's massive amounts.
You were 6-point favorites.
I was trying—
no, Max, I'm saying considering what Vegas has been putting the Giants at for the last month, that's a massive amount of respect for them.
All right.
What are the Rams, 5.5-point favorites?
5.5-point favorites.
Rams kind of stink.
The Rams do kind of stink. So Rams 24, Chargers 9. I mean, they, they handily beat the Chargers, but it did— it was like a first-half sleepwalk where you're like, what's going on here? And then listen, I love Jim Harbaugh. At this point, like, what are we doing playing for field goals? That was the—
that—
not, not that the Chargers were ever going to win this game, but the game flipped when it was 6-3. and it was like a minute and a half left in the first half, and they, they had a 4th and 2 in field goal range, and they're like, let's kick another field goal, go up 9-3. They went up 9-3, then the Rams went down and scored, went into half 10-9, scored on the next drive. Next thing you know, it's 17-9, you know what I mean? Like, it was just like, I don't know, I don't know, man. You guys think just go for it?
Go for it.
You know what I think the, uh, the Chargers should do? Because like it doesn't seem like Harbaugh is going to make any big decisions, which is kind of strange. And they keep asking about Mike McDaniel and he keeps not really answering the questions, but he hasn't fired him yet. So I don't know what it's going to take. And when he does fire him, it's going to be way too late. Even at this point, it's already too late. He, he should just fire all of his kickers.
Mm-hmm.
The Chargers should just not have a punter. They should not have a kicker. They shouldn't even have like a long snapper. on the team. Use those positions on somebody else and you're just— burn the boats.
Yeah.
You're just going for it all the time. Fuck it. Who cares?
Right.
Season's over. Might as well try to score some points.
Yeah. They're just— and they had the rare double insult stat that was— that's gotten a lot of eyeballs on. Here it is.
Yeah.
The Chargers fall to 0-7 for the first time since the 2000 season. Their QB that year was Jim Harbaugh. That's, that's the first insult stat. And then in the same tweet from ESPN Insights, Chargers have gone 27 straight drives without a TD, the longest streak in the NFL since the 2024 Dolphins, 30 straight, who were coached by Mike McDaniel. 27 drives without a touchdown is so many drives.
Yeah.
That's so many drives. How many games is that? The 3 games that they've— when's the last time they scored a touchdown on offense?
Let's see.
Oh my God, they're just such a bummer to watch. Oh, when are they gonna start trading everyone? That's the thing too.
So I guess they got Khalil Mack, right? Yeah, they, uh, got Ladd McConkey. I don't know who else like would be of value right now.
Broncos game was the last time they scored a touchdown, which was 3 weeks ago. Yikes.
Yeah, it's pretty bad.
What about Herbert?
What about Herbert?
We haven't said anything.
I actually think it's become not really stupid picks anymore. It's just big sad picks. The picks are so sad now.
Yeah, because his, his body language on the sideline was horrendous at the end of this game.
Big stupid picks would imply that they're like somehow stopping them from winning games, but there's so many things stopping them from winning games. It's just sad. bad picks. Yeah, I mean, yeah, like him throwing 2 picks does not, does not make the Chargers lose the game, but he's bad.
And they're bad picks too. Really, they're so sad.
I think you gotta— if you're Chargers, like, number 1 pick, are you thinking—
you gotta at least think about it. Yeah, he's terrible.
Shane's gonna be so mad.
No, I think he's actually starting to come around on it a little bit.
What?
There's, there's no doubt about the fact he's playing completely dogshit football. He's terrible right now. Does that mean that he is a terrible player, like, for next season?
Maybe he's just got to get off the chart. Like, maybe he just needs a new—
You almost need to change the team name.
Like, this throw sucks.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like, it's the— it's a bad decision. It's a lazy ball. And it's in a spot in the game where you're still— you're still in the fight in the 3rd quarter. You're down one score. Yeah. And it's just like you're— You're just gifting the ball to the Rams.
Change. Yeah, you got to change everything about this team.
Panic, panic.
All right, I'm back.
Is there a single bit of silver lining for the Chargers this year? Even a tiny bit anywhere? I'm struggling to find it.
No, I don't got one.
I don't think that there is.
It's really sad. They have— when actually, they probably could— they might be able to beat Joe Frank Nana.
That's what I'm saying. Like, that's, that's the time.
They play the Texans next week. They'll get fucking throttled. Texans off a bye, getting embarrassed. They'll get throttled in that game. Then they play the Ravens and they play the Jets.
Yeah.
So they might win a game somewhere in there. But man, is this a bad football team. And man, is it a bummer to watch.
I mean, that game on October 11th, last offensive touchdown. That game on December 27th at the Dolphins. Right now the Dolphins are playing Way better football than the Chargers.
Oh yeah.
Way better.
Oh yeah.
And they're playing hard too. Like, there were some times today where I was watching, like, there would be like 4 or 5 guys after a dude on the Patriots got wrapped up, tackled, like 4 or 5 guys finishing the tackle at the same time. Like, they're playing really, really hard in Miami. This Chargers team is not. But that game might be very consequential for, for draft purposes.
Yeah.
The Ladd McConkey had 86 yards, led the Chargers in receiving yards. The 2nd receiving yards leader for the Chargers were the Rams defenders, 71 interception return yards.
Yeah.
And how many of those yards from Ladd were on that Hail Mary? Yeah.
Yeah.
That kind of like luckily almost got there. Luckily landed into his hand. It like farted off somebody else. Caught it off the defender's face mask and then he got tackled on the 1-yard line. That's probably what, 54?
The ball was on their own 45.
Yeah, 55 yards of that, 54 yards of that.
Oh man, they're such a bummer. Rams, I do— like I said, it was 54 yards. The Rams, they are running the ball again. Remember I said it last week? It's like if they, if they're going to find themselves again, I feel like it's got to be through running. They started slow in this game because they weren't running the ball. And then like their first few drives were just ugly. And then they're like, oh yeah, fuck, we have Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. Let's let them run. And then they ran for like 129 yards in like the last 3 quarters or 2 quarters, basically.
Stafford had kind of a big stupid pick today, too. Yeah.
Yeah. He's looked off. Yeah, he's looked off. And they have the, uh, so they're going to the Commanders and then at the Cardinals. Uh, okay, last game, Broncos 28, Chiefs 24. I don't want to overreact, but I do think this was a mini passing of the torch. Whoa, hold on. Not, not in the way you think I'm thinking. Not like, oh, the Broncos are just gonna win the AFC West for the next 10 years. And like that, it's a passing of the torch in the 4th quarter Broncos dark magic outlasting the Chiefs dark magic. Because we were watching that game together, Hank, in the Gambling Cave. When the Chiefs got to the goal line at the end of the game, we're like, it's the Chiefs, they score here every time. And then they just didn't. And I was like, what the fuck? was that, you know? And, and Bucker, who's bad— he's just bad, they have to cut him—
he—
that 54-yard field goal to put him up 6, he misses that, gives the Broncos a short field. It's like, what's, what's more stronger? The, like, the, the, these dark arts of the Broncos being like really bad on offense for, for big stretches of a game, and then showing up in the 4th quarter or the Chiefs always finding a way to win a game. And today the Broncos won out.
You can't tell me that on a game-winning touchdown. Yeah, you can't, you can't call that on a game-winning touchdown. Oh yeah, wait, you can because it's us, the Chiefs. We get no calls on the Chiefs. That's Brittany Mahomes.
Yeah, it's PFT doing Brittany Mahomes after the game.
I love that.
I love her. God bless her for saying that, for somehow twisting this world into a prism where she looks at it and she thinks that the Chiefs, if there's one thing about them, it's that the refs hate them. Yeah, I'm glad that she can have that take. Do you?
But it's—
Do you know what I'm saying?
I know what you're saying. At the end of that game, I was expecting— there was one play before the very last one, might have been second down. Mahomes scrambles to his right.
He always scores there.
He always scores there. Always finds somebody that's drifting across late where he throws across his body.
Exactly.
And it works out, or he does like a little forward pitch underhanded. He does something that works out there.
He got flushed out of the pocket and you're like, okay, here comes the Mahomes scramble, or the Mahomes— oh, he's gonna throw it backwards to Kelce standing by himself, and it just didn't happen.
And also, was it Emmitt Johnson, number 10, uh, who looked like on Halloween he was dressed up as slutty Isaiah Pacheco because he like had the entire, uh, elbow pads and all that shit that look exactly like Pacheco? Um, when he got going a little bit, I was like, okay, well, yeah, this is— it's gonna happen again. The, the Chiefs are gonna pull away with this one. The Chiefs are inevitable. But the Broncos defense looks like a completely different unit since getting Cooper back.
Yeah, well, yeah, and, and from week 1, and Surtain's back as well. Yeah, but I just— I don't know, I, I probably am overreacting, but I just couldn't believe the Chiefs didn't win that game. Like, that was And it's not like the Broncos— I'm very high on the Broncos. I bet the Broncos in this game. I thought the Broncos were going to win this game. But I think Broncos fans would agree with me. When the Chiefs are at the goal line with 20 seconds left, they always win those games and they just didn't. And also, what was up with Kenneth Walker's 3rd down run?
Yeah, really bad.
It looked like he was like wasting time.
Really bad.
So weird.
He had— now he had some other really nice runs.
He got bottled up today. Like, that was actually the big story is the Chiefs offense, when he gets bottled up, it's just, you know, they— it, it's, it's a lot tougher to— for everything to move. They don't have the wide receivers. And the, and the Broncos, yeah, their defense is awesome. And Bo Nix, just, just let— give him a chance. I do think he's playing better. I really do. I think he's, he's throwing the ball, he's taking risks. He's not, you know, keeping the ball. He's not doing the, the the Seahawks game where it was just like, what are we even watching? There's still a lot of like, you could even see in watching this game, Broncos fans, there was some boos, there was some like groans because there were definitely a few 3-and-outs where you're like, what the fuck? I think there was one specific one in the 3rd quarter when it was like, it was like 3rd and 8 and Bo Nix threw a pass that was 4 yards.
Mm-hmm.
That was fully defended. And everyone was just like, what the fuck is this? Yeah, guess what? When, when it gets late in the game, he has 3 times he's come back from double digits in the 4th quarter in his career.
And in terms of like ways that you can win a game, I think that a goal line stand against any offense really, but in this case especially against the Kansas City Chiefs, like a generally generationally great offense, that has the potential to be a springboard win like none other. Yeah, like the 4-down goal line stand against divisional opponent in front of your home crowd. That's something that I feel like a lot of teams build off of and just get way, way better.
I'd agree. Yeah, I mean, I think the Broncos are very good. I think it's just bonics. Like, they won this game, they still had under 300 yards in offense, they went 2 for 11 on 3rd down. There's still a lot of things they got to fix, but their defense gives them a chance in every single game, and their defense won the game at the end. with that goal line stand. And Bo Nix, oh my God, that premature celebration. He— I don't think he knew what down it was. No, on, on 3rd down when the, when the, when, uh, the Broncos stood up, uh, Kenneth Walker, he was going nuts like they had won the game. And that would have been a very bad clip going forward. Yeah, because I don't know if he knew exactly what, what, what the down and distance was. But yeah, good game for Pro Knicks, good game for the Broncos. They now have like— the AFC West is all the way. This was such a big swing game in terms of the AFC West and where it was going, because now they, they've tied the— they're already done with their season series and they're both sitting at 6-2, right?
Are they both 6-2? I think the Broncos— oh no, the Chiefs had a bye, so—
The Broncos are ahead of Them.
Yes. Broncos are 6-2. Chiefs are 5-2.
Yep.
Yeah.
Are you—
I guess that you're— I know how you're going to say who you're more scared of. It's definitely still the Chiefs, right?
Yeah.
But what about going to Mile High? Oh, you're the one. You're going to be the 1 or the 2 seed.
We did it last year.
Yeah, just did them.
We went to Mile High last year.
Steady.
AFC Championship.
Snowstorm. Steady.
Yeah.
With a tail. Allegedly, he's got a tail.
Remember, you guys, like, you're, you're flip-flopping on Bo Nix.
Oh no, I've never flip-flopped.
No, I still don't think he's very good. I think he's playing better.
So it's like, why, why would I be— what would I be more worried about him or Mahomes?
But wait, wait, we had this conversation 2 weeks ago because you, you accused me of this 2 weeks ago. You're like, how are the Broncos Super Bowl contenders when you think Bo Nix is bad? Because their defense is so good. And if Bo Nix can play just average, they're a dangerous team. And he's started to play a little bit closer to average. Like, it still doesn't look great, but he has played closer to average.
He also does feel more comfortable moving around. He's like more dynamic. You have to see that, right?
Yeah.
No, I mean, he's— the Broncos are good. Broncos are a good team.
The defense is really, really good.
But if I— who I'd rather play, Broncos or Chiefs?
It's Broncos.
Yeah, but I mean, did you— were you not shocked by that Chiefs ending?
Felt like it was like the regular season. If it's the playoffs, like, it's gonna go differently.
That's fair.
That's fair.
Yeah, I feel like altitude. Maybe Andy Reid doesn't operate well in thin air. Yeah, he needs that air to be like nice, like a milkshake. There's something you can chew on.
I, uh, they gotta cut Booker. Yeah, so he's so bad.
When they brought in Tucker Did you hear, um, did you hear JJ Watt talking about it in the booth? They're pretty much saying like Andy Reid brought him in because the only way that, that kickers can improve is if you bring in somebody to challenge him. So they had no, no other option than to bring in Justin Tucker this week. It's like, no, you had— there were other options.
Yeah.
For sure that you could have gone with.
For sure.
Um, but it is a move. I feel like it, it was maybe a fake move, and, and Buc-ee's might have sniffed it out because he knew that that Andy Reid probably wouldn't love to make Justin Tucker the starting kicker.
But he didn't. He played bad again.
Yeah, and then he played bad. That's what I'm saying. So he was like, okay, it's a bluff.
Yeah, he's been bad.
He's—
I think he's 2 for 7 on kicks 50 yards plus. Like, if he makes that kick, that— it was— that was the swing. He misses the kick, they don't go up 6. And not only that, more importantly, the Broncos, which their offense wasn't went like, like I said, under 300 yards, 2 for 11 on third down. It's not like they were able to just drive the length of the field like consistently. You gave them the ball at the, at the 50-yard line. Yeah. And they went and scored. So the Broncos, they just had Bo Nix, fourth quarter, fourth quarter Bo, fourth quarter Bo.
Never count them out.
Crazy that they're like back in a weird like Tebow universe.
Never count them Yeah.
I don't— I still don't think he's very good, but, but he wins games. And if you can keep him close and he can get a little hot, it's nuts.
Yeah.
I mean, even the game-winning touchdown, that was a— it was a nice pass, but it was a screen that he, that he like broke. Who was that? Was it Coleman?
Yeah.
Jonah Coleman broke it for 51 yards.
Yeah.
It wasn't like some deep, deep bomb or some methodical drive down the field, but that's just what he does. That's specialness above.
He played clean enough. Just when you think he— just when you think he's the worst quarterback in the league, that's when he's about to do something special.
Yeah. And I am high on the Broncos. I do think they're very good just because of their defense and they find ways to win games. And it's just like, that's— I kind of throw out that first week loss to the Chiefs where they just played basically the worst defensive game they could possibly play.
Yeah.
And then since then, they've been a very good team.
You see Sean Payton and one of his assistants almost get into a fight on the sideline? No, that was great. I feel like that's when Sean Payton— that's when he comes alive.
Getting angry.
Yeah. When people— when somebody yells at him on his own team, he likes that shit.
Yeah.
He thrives in chaos.
You do have— you play them week 17, Hank. So that'll be— could be a significant game for seeding.
Where's that?
That is is in New England.
Nice.
Not mile high.
Okay.
Last, last game. Last question. Who's back? Or sorry, Roback question. RHOback.com, promo code TAKE, 20% off your first purchase. Q-zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts. Roback.com, promo code TAKE. Max, where are you at with Nick Sirianni right now?
I don't know.
We got no players. It's hard. It's hard.
But is this It felt like you had something you were about to say and you didn't say it.
I feel like you can't—
Can't what?
If you guys just don't win any other— like, at some point—
I'm looking, I'm looking at the— at the schedule. I put the over-under at 1.5.
More wins?
More wins.
You guys don't have an NFL roster right now.
We don't. Our offense—
But your defense does. That's, that's what's concerning to me.
I—
everyone's heard on offense.
The defense has quit.
Right.
That's, that's a concern.
Jalen Carter did play much better today after he was horrendous last week. He did get a sack and he did. And he was blowing up the D-line a little. But Jordan Davis, still nowhere to be found. Cooper Kupp was a little bit better today. But then, like, again, Andrew Kupp goes down. That's another safety that we lost. Zach Bond doesn't look the same. He's getting older. I don't know. I don't know. It looks like the defense has kind of given up. They— it was inflated a little bit. Like, it was 19 points for most of that game. And yeah, and then, you know, it got out of hand. It got out of hand. But I think that they played well enough to win that game with a normal offense. But the offense is so bad and it's like, fuck, how—
it's—
it must be so demoralizing for that defense to just— and I guess that's on Sirianni to keep it— to keep the defense engaged. I don't know, it's frustrating. It's a season from hell. The offense sucks. Tanner McKee is not a very good quarterback. We're playing without our top 2 receivers, without our top 5 running backs. The O-line is a problem, but I also think Tanner McKee he's so bad in the pocket. Like, he almost like moves into sacks.
Yeah.
Instead of, instead of like evading them. Yeah, he does. Which is something that like we took for granted with Jalen Hurts like so much because he was, he's very good at getting out of the way and then he normally just throws it away, but at least he doesn't take the sack. I don't know. Sirianni, like, I guess like the defense, you got to keep the defense more engaged. Like, that's your job as a head coach of like keeping the players in it even though when, when things get tough. But it's tough. It's tough to like really judge a coach when the amount of injuries that they've had is insane.
Yeah.
Do you think he's lost the locker room?
That's, that's a question for the locker room.
Yeah.
You can ask that question. locker room. PFT, what can we pull up the odds to see the NFC East odds? I don't think you can rule out you guys having a chance.
I don't want to do this to myself.
Why not? Memes thinks you've already done this to yourself.
Yeah, I don't know.
100%.
You've already done it.
Why do you say that? Why do you say that?
That's what Memes said after we stopped recording on Riverside Tuesday night. He, him and Jacob were going back and forth on all the scenarios. They're, they're locked in.
That's not a—
we're locked in.
No, I know. It's one thing to discuss scenarios. It's another thing to be locked in and believe in hiding your feelings. I'm not hiding my feelings.
It's a podcast. Open up to the world.
I'm not. Let's see, what are the odds for the, for the NFC?
Plus 560.
Plus 560. And Cowboys, 235.
I didn't know that, Memes, because Memes is telling me he's like, yeah, I did not.
I, I—
that's okay.
Why not play the scenarios? Because I'll be completely honest with you, I don't think that the team is very good. What we watched tonight was 2 bad teams playing football against each other. The Commanders looked serviceable at times on offense, but still a shitload of penalties, a shitload of drops. Like, I have— I can't remember watching a team that has this many pre-snap penalties, and we just can't figure it out for some reason when it comes to like illegal formations, all this stuff. We just keep getting flagged and it's taken away. It's throwing the offense out of rhythm. We never feel like we've got momentum going. The second half was pretty good. But I just, I don't believe that the team is anywhere near close to being able to compete for a division right now. Granted, it's probably the worst division in football, but we have to have ground to make up. We're pretty far behind. We're 2 games behind the Giants. And I think if you looked at the schedule from here on out, we've got some winnable games. But I also think that every game that I would label as being winnable would be one where the other team would look at the Commanders and say, that's a winnable game.
game for us. So yes, we should be able to beat the Titans, but the Titans are playing good now. Uh, we should be able to beat the Cardinals. Cardinals are playing good now. The Texans actually look like dog shit, but they might be a different team by mid-December. And then, um, we finish out with the Falcons, the Vikings, the Jaguars, and the Cowboys. So I don't think that— I think the hole is too deep for the Commanders to, uh, to win this division. Even if we did, I would highly doubt that we'd be able to do anything in the playoffs. So yeah, I'm not— it's great to win these games. I'm glad that, that we have, uh, Jayden's first win in what, like how many days was it? 300, 390-something days.
Memes had the exact amount.
Yeah, you did. You knew it real quick.
He ripped it right in your face.
It was 392.
392 days. So that, that's good. I'm glad. But as far as I'm concerned, And if this team wins too many games, I think that would be possibly detrimental to the future of the team because it's pretty clear that Dan Quinn, nice guy, really good defensive coach, great defensive coordinator, seems like an awesome friend to have, not really having the brain to be a head coach.
Mm-hmm.
I think we've got a brain.
And you never want to have a brain problem.
And even if you win a bunch of games and you limp into the playoffs and you lose by 15 points in the first round, that is not going to make the brain problem go away. And I would love for Dan Quinn to be the defensive coordinator. He's just not a head coach. That's kind of where I'm at. So, Mims, truthfully, technically it is possible for us to get in. I will get caught up if we, if we rattle off a few wins. Absolutely.
Absolutely.
100%. If you beat the Rams next week, we beat the Rams next week, I'm back. And in fact, I think if we beat the Rams, Sean McVay would have to look at that and say, unfinished business. Maybe I come back to D.C., be their next head coach. Definitely, definitely be a pretty attractive spot.
Have to.
If we beat the Rams, I'm all in. I'm balls deep in, in at that point. But I don't think that's going to happen. I think we got a long way to go.
Okay. Should we do who's back the week? Finish up. Twisted Tea. It's football season. We've never been more ready for game day. We're bringing Twisted Tea along for the ride all season long. Grab a refreshing Twisted Tea today. Keep it twisted with Twisted Tea. We love the original, the half and half, peach. I had one when I was taking my kids trick-or-treating on Saturday night. Twisted Tea, it's a great drink. Okay, Hank, who's back of the week?
Who's back of the week is Darkness. First one.
Yeah.
Yep. Clock's turned back or forward.
Mm-hmm.
And now it's going to be dark at 4 o'clock.
Yeah, real dark.
Although it was getting a little— I, I don't like that we lose the— like, I don't like that it gets dark so early or so early in the afternoon. It was getting a little crazy how dark it was when I woke up in the morning. Maybe that's just me because I was waking up up earlier, but like it would be 7:00 and it'd still be dark. It's like, what the fuck? We need, we need some lightness here. Yeah, but it's probably a personal problem. It's probably personal.
You're going to have the reverse this week where like you walk out of work at—
no, I know. I know.
No, I'm, I'm on your side because there were times where I would wake up and I would look outside and be like, oh, it's pitch black. Like I still got like 5 more hours.
Yeah.
And then I would look out and it would be like, oh fuck, I got—
yeah, for what?
Different for me than for you.
But it would still be like, yeah.
Oh, I only got one more hour. Like, that sucks.
Yeah. Yeah. Like, for wake-up barstool, you open your eyes and it's— it looks like it's midnight outside.
That's the worst. There's nothing worse than waking up when it's still pitch black.
Yeah.
My least favorite time of year would be every day when I would have to go to work and I would leave. It would be dark outside and then I would leave work to go home and it would be dark outside again. And then you would just never see the sun. That's a bummer of a time of year.
Yeah. Hello, darkness, my old friend.
Mm-hmm.
Uh, my other who's back is college basketball.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I dressed up as the Pope last night for Halloween. Max had me fired up on the Cats. I was, I was fired up on the Cats and they just collapsed. Collapsed in Rome.
It's too early to be playing college basketball.
What?
But it was—
You were so excited for this game.
Yeah.
Well, I don't know, man. My football season fucking sucks. Thank God for the Sixers. They're a wagon. I was looking forward to this. I love Villanova basketball and they turned the ball over 20 times. 20 turnovers.
They can fix that.
Yeah, it's early and none of these guys have played together. It's hard to judge college basketball these days. Like, oh, definitely none of these guys have played any basketball together.
Yeah, the continuity is like early in the season. You just have no idea what to expect.
It's kind of like, it's kind of a tough look for Villanova. I think to go all the way to Rome for this game and the Pope doesn't even show up.
Oh, he didn't?
Yeah, he had other stuff to do.
I was arguing about this with other people. They did say that it's probably tough for the Pope to get to a basketball game on a Sunday.
But then why'd they go to fucking Rome?
That's a good question.
It feels a little desperate on—
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Why does— why does the NFL go to Europe?
Not for one specific person.
Yeah.
Look, it felt like a wide range of people, new fans to the—
yeah, grow the game.
They already have a fan in the Pope, and the Pope was like, yeah, can't really make it. Hope you understand.
Like, oh, like, hit me up if you guys are ever in Rome. And they're like, hey, we're here.
Yeah.
And he's like, oh, I, I was, I was making this argument as well.
He's like, I got someone. Do you think you would be able to go to this game if it was in Chicago on a Sunday. And I said, yeah.
Yes, you would. If it was at 8:30 in the morning, you would for sure.
But it's—
it's—
but if it was—
if it was 8:30 in the morning, time change, I think we're talking about time change.
You would have 8:30 in the morning.
But, but the Bears have Monday Night Football.
Pope didn't have to watch that. What I'm saying, he could be at the game. I would assume that the Pope would, would, would miss Villanova on a Sunday because he wanted to watch the affairs.
Oh, it sounds like the Pope doesn't really care about Villanova basketball. No, that's what— that's what Hank was saying.
I think he's— I think he has other obligations.
Maybe he was like, I don't want to— I don't want to go.
He's the Pope.
Maybe he's like, I don't want to go root against Villanova. It's a Sunday against the way better, like, religious school in Notre Dame. He might have been rooting for Notre Dame. I mean, Notre Dame, they pray.
It kind of reminds me of When, when Tom Brady was talking about the Super Bowl, he's like, I don't really have a dog in the fight. Yeah. It's like, wait, I thought that you would. Because like they asked the Pope about it. He goes, well, I grew up South Side Chicago, so I heard go Irish all the time. And that was a team that I always kind of liked.
The Pope turned his back on—
You just, you just made up that second part.
But it could have—
wait, what?
He said that was the team that I kind of liked. Never said that.
No, no. When they asked him about the Irish, he goes, growing up on the South Side of Chicago, you heard people say go Irish.
And so you added that was the team that I loved.
Correct. That's not, that's not a direct quote. But he was saying that as an example of his admiration for Notre Dame. And then he followed it up with, and also, I graduated before I was pope. I graduated from Villanova. So he's saying he's got a connection to both sides.
He said that he has an opinion, but he's not allowed to speak on that.
He said he doesn't take sides.
He said the pope doesn't take sides.
Who's— and who's the pope?
And then he said Prevost has other opinions. And he, he is Prevost.
I thought he was the Pope.
He is their— the Pope doesn't take—
checkmate.
All right.
Fuck you guys, man. Let's talk about Jordan. When are we going to do that?
When are we going to do that? True love.
I don't know how that we went through all of that and we didn't get It's going to be my Who's Back. Let's do it.
Okay. Who's back? Jordyn's back on the market. On the market. Maybe open for business. Possibly. This allegedly— Let me just say that if she is spoken for, if there's still an item, all due respect to them, I'll take back everything I'm about to say. If they are broken up, is she the most eligible bachelorette in America?
Yeah.
Number one, Hank.
So the story came out that they've been broken up for a year. That doesn't make sense on the timeline. Can we all agree on that?
Yes. Okay.
Because like, we interviewed Belichick in what, May? Pretty sure they were dating then.
Well, she did. She did ask Bill about the cheesesteak.
Yeah, right. So and I think they were at like recruiting visits, like, as late as August together. Like at high school games.
Yeah, but maybe she— maybe like their romantic relationship, you know, didn't work out, but Bill recognized her as like an asset to the program.
That would make sense.
And you know, he'll— he tries to make anything work.
Okay, so you can—
if you can be an asset to the team, he'll keep you around.
So if— but if they did break up, whose side are you taking?
Bill's.
Oh, come on, dude. It's our queen.
So you never really liked her?
Yeah. No, you're the guy who, like, bashes his friend's girlfriend the minute they break up. What if they get back together and you said all that?
That's gonna be really awkward.
Yeah.
I support whatever Bill's decisions he makes.
Well, what if he got broken up with?
Then fuck her.
No, but that's not his decision. What if he wants to get back with her and then he gets back with her? You just said fuck her and then they get back together. That's gonna be awkward, I guess.
But like, I got my boy's back. I don't know what you want me to say. I'll be like, sorry, dude, I had your back.
Yeah, but you don't want to go too hard.
You shouldn't have said fuck her. That's fucked up.
You said you gave me a hypothetical.
Yeah, if she broke up with— if she broke up with Bill, but Bill's still in love with her and they're gonna eventually get back together yet. But unfortunately, they're gonna get back together and then Jordan's gonna be like, I'm gonna take you back, Bill. Bill's like, oh my God, thank God. I've wanted to be back with you this whole time. And then Jordan Don says, but one thing, can I play this clip for you? And then plays you saying, fuck her.
Well, then I would hope that she played the beginning where it showed the context. Bill's all about the context. No, you presented a hypothetical.
I did not. I did not.
I did not say fuck her.
I think you probably broke them up.
If they weren't broken up before, they broke it up now.
I have a possible scenario here that I I think would really make Hank sound like a jerk. What if they're in a secret relationship right now? Which is very possible because it was such a headline grabber.
Yeah.
And then, you know, she was, you know, always a kind of a distraction for Bill where they would ask him questions about her all the time.
Could be a secret relationship.
And so he might have said, like, you guys didn't ask her questions about her.
That's true. Neither did you.
You had a chance to.
I don't give a— I like didn't— I wasn't worried about her.
I was worried about the Patriots.
But all I'm saying is like, what if you guys talk about her all the time?
What if that's the strategy where he's just like, you guys are too scared to ask anything about her?
She's a lightning rod. You were too.
I don't like— I'm not— I never brought her up. She's not like someone that I have ever cared about talking about. You guys love talking about her because we love—
but when presented the opportunity, didn't say a word because she's a philosopher and a business owner and an entrepreneur and a founder.
Good for her.
And a queen.
I'm happy for her. I do like her.
No, it sounds like you don't.
I don't. I am not worried. I'm a sports guy. I'm not worried about this gossipy nonsense.
Yeah.
You guys are all caught up in the tabloids and in the gossip and the he said, she said. I'm worried about what's on the field. Yeah.
Well, I'm saying I think that this might be a play where they're like, let's pretend to break up so people stop asking me about you. And then I think the play worked because UNC is way better.
They are. They should have fucking beaten them.
I know they should have.
I know they're right there.
But yeah, they're playing good.
Bill's laughing.
They're playing good.
Married to the game. I think they might even be married. It might be like a secret marriage, but let's just not tell the world. Let's tell everyone we broke up.
And good for them. I'm happy for them.
Max, what do you think about that? Did that satisfy your—
Yeah, that was good.
I like that.
If it fully—
no more Pope talk.
Yeah. If covered up the fact that the Pope turned his back on Villanova, pretty much condemned them to hell. Do you win that game if the Pope's there? Yes, I think so.
Yeah, I— yeah, probably.
So then what the hell? Why is he not there?
It's Sunday and he's the Pope.
Imagine like the 4th, like the start of the 2nd half, like you hear an organ play.
Oh, like Steve Austin?
Yeah.
Like Pope shows up.
It's Sunday and he's the Pope.
How long does he— what does he do? One service? Like quick hour?
Can you imagine the pressure the referees would have felt if the Pope walks in?
Yeah, he just sits there. He's like, I don't love that call.
I guarantee they're all Catholic there.
He just sits there with a little notepad.
Yeah. What was your name again? Bless you.
Okay.
Yeah. Bless your heart.
Interesting.
Yeah.
The Pope's got to be there. It's really— it's sad for the university.
What did you say? Like, this is the worst thing that's ever happened in Rome, Max, or just disaster?
I said disaster in Rome.
Disaster in Rome.
All right.
My who's back was going to be college basketball and Jordan. So I don't know what else to say. Do you—
is there anything else to say about college basketball? What other games were There.
High Point is playing Liberty right now. And then we have the 24-hour madness, I think, on Monday, where I think there's a game at like 2 in the morning.
Yeah.
And then, yeah, we're going, we're going. Love it. So excited. Oh, there we go. You know what? Who's back? MLB Awards. They're going to start rolling them out at the most random times possible.
Yeah. Gold Gloves tonight. I love baseball.
It's so stupid. They just— they're just like, oh, here's a day. Why don't we just throw an award at you? We're not going to tell you when it's coming. What? You know who's winning? We're just going to throw it out there.
Remember us? We're baseball.
Yeah. All right, Zach, finish this off.
If we're talking baseball, my respect of the week will be TikTok comment sections because Bryce Harper was getting active.
What?
Yeah.
You guys don't want— I want to talk about this.
Why?
There's a couple of comments. One commenter Made a comment that was like, I believe his new offseason is going to be between March and October. Bryce Harper's like, it will be this year. So if he has any good info, he's saying no baseball all year next year. And then he also acknowledged that he prefers the offseason over the regular season.
Oh no.
Somebody said Bryce acts like he enjoys the offseason more than the regular season. He said this is true.
Oh no, Max.
Let's talk about the— that there's not going to be a season next year.
That's what Bryce is doing.
Yeah, he's talking to SnuggleBear0808.
Let's kick it to Bryce. Bryce, you have any comments?
Yeah.
SnuggleBear0808 asked, it seems like March through October is the offseason. Bryce said it will be this year.
He also says that he likes the offseason more than the season. This negotiation tactic.
Okay.
That he likes not playing. He doesn't need to play baseball anymore. Yeah.
No, that's a good first try.
That's a good point. That's a good point.
That was good.
Yeah, that's, that's legit. What is— what's the date when the lockout would officially start? Would that be— I think it's like early December.
Yeah, I think the winners— the owners meeting is coming up. They moved it up. I think it's like December 1st or something.
Yeah.
He also Do you remember there was like, I think, I don't know if it was this past year.
Yeah.
He kicked out Manfred of the clubhouse.
That rocked.
Yes.
I love it when he told him like, get the fuck out of our clubhouse.
So I think he's pretty adamant against the, the no salary cap and is willing to fight.
I mean, he's adamant against the salary cap.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yeah. One thing I didn't realize about baseball and whenever there's a lockout or anything like that, the lengths that they have to go to as the league by the letter of the law, uh, all the teams' websites will no longer feature pictures of the players.
Hmm.
They'll all be like the generic gray avatars.
Hmm.
Major League Ba— the, uh, MLB Network will not be allowed to use any players' names.
That's crazy.
Across their programming. So they're gonna have to figure out a way to do like months' worth of original programming without saying the names of any ballplayers. That's gonna be fun to watch.
Oh man.
It's not happening. We're gonna have baseball. I've decided that already. Started that already. We're fine. We're fine. Zach finishes off.
Double finish off. Did you see that? Did you see that?
What?
That was his who's back.
What you're saying?
Finish this off.
Oh yeah, that was the— that was his back. I'm sorry, I got lost here.
Positive note. Double Finish off. There's more stuff on the Everything app saying the Bears Stadium probably aren't in Heights.
Oh yeah, I did. That happened, uh, I think it was— it was always gonna be there. I've said it, it's— it was always gonna be there. Kevin Warren finally got kicked out of the meetings. Pat Ryan is the adult. He met with Goodell, he met with the Illinois lawmakers. Indiana was always a ruse. And I think— I actually think the problem was Kevin Warren fell for it. That was the issue.
Well, his job— he did his job.
No, but he fell for Indiana.
Yeah, he fell for the NFL being okay with the Bears moving to Indiana, which is what makes it absolutely the best job that he, he could have done. Like, he bought into it. He was like, I've got this great deal. And then the Bears were like, okay, we kept you in the dark this whole time, but that will do. You got us the most enormous amount of leverage we could ever ask for. So Job well done, Kevin. Now please leave.
And then Goodell was like, you guys aren't moving to Indiana. And, and then Pat Ryan, who's a minority holder in the Bears, who I think has the largest stake that's not a McCaskey— he's, he's the one who built the new stadium at Northwestern. Great guy. And he basically was like, I'll take over from here. I'll be the adult. Yeah, I'll meet with Goodell. Kevin Warren, you can just, you know, go, go, go do something. Go, go choose, you know, what you're going to put in each suite. What high-top tables you're going to put in each suite. And yeah, they're going to, they're going to, they're going to do Illinois. So, and Monday Night Football, I'm very excited. We'll see. Zach, very well.
Finish this off.
Finish this off, Zach.
Monday Night Football preview, Bucs 24, Bears 7.
That's Sunday Night Football.
Sunday Night Football preview next week.
Monday Night Football is Seahawks-Bears.
My bad, you said Monday. I was thinking Sunday. We're talking stadiums are going to be here, as you can see.
Zach, Zach, finish this off.
Finish off one more time.
29.
Oh, no, no, no. False numbers. I'm going to take 29, Big Cat. Nice.
I'm going to take 52.
I'm going to take—
I'll take 23.
10, 18, 4, 13, 69, 7.
Jacob, what were we saying with the scenarios? Ask him about that.
He said, how about that loss this week?
What was the— what were the scenario talks that we were doing on Tuesday?
Okay.
Where Memes was listening and eavesdropping very rudely. Yeah, we just did a couple hypotheticals, like we almost beat the 49ers and we're talking about how that was a close game.
That's not a hypothetical.
Yeah.
If we beat the 49ers previously.
What was that? If you won tonight?
We were saying that these aren't bad things, by the way.
Everyone should do Yeah, we—
yeah, it was very simple stuff. Memes is overblowing it.
We're just talking about what could have happened and what would happen in the future.
It was very highly retroactive looking at games that we should have won and where we should be. The main point was we don't want to win too many games. No, no, no, no, no. There you go. There you go, Memes. There you go.
What?
Fake news, Memes.
What? That was said.
If you win tonight.
78.
We could make a little bit of a run.
78. That's—
yeah, a little bit of a run. But we don't want to make—
Exactly.
Big enough of a run. Remarkably consistent.
Because we want DQ gone.
Yeah.
That was the main message. Memes, you're a messy bitch. I'm not a mess.
You're trash. You guys are acting like losers.
Try to stir the pot, Memes.
Yeah, Max is a loser.
I'm a loser.
You guys are acting like losers.
I'm a loser.
Caden also loses.
brain doesn't have a word.

I don't know, have I?
You might have.
Who?
Colton.
Did I miss Colton?
It was Colton's birthday.
When was his birthday?
October 2nd.
Oh no, that's a lot.
That's a month ago.
You missed Colton's birthday?
Did I not say Colton?
No.
Are you just guessing?
