Haley Stevens' endorsement of Mike Rogers is turning some voters in Michigan, as is the "Decoy Dan" scandal in Alaska. Sex-based riots are driving votes in Texas, and The New York Times blunders with the release of an at-least-partly-fake list of Jews who support El-Sayed. I'm Daily Wire executive editor John Bickley with Georgia Hou. It's Tuesday, November 3, and this is an Election Day edition of Evening Wire.

Speaker 500:01:21

Will Democrat Haley Stevens' last-minute endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers be the boost he needs to overcome Democrat Abdul El-Sayed? Rogers believes yes. He told The Daily Wire that the endorsement has shaken the U.S. Senate race in Michigan, quote, "beyond the shadow of a doubt." Rogers said that it gave a lot of folks permission to turn away from El-Sayed, whose ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and anti-Israel comments have divided Democrats. Meanwhile, the Democratic establishment and the party's left-wing base have trashed Stevens. Here she was, being confronted about that endorsement, as well as her position on Israel and the Palestinian people.

Speaker 600:01:57

Did you have some questions or were you—

Speaker 700:01:59

Well, I was just wondering, like, how do you continue to support the bombing of children, even now, during the search fire?

Speaker 600:02:04

Look, sir, I'm not going to be intimidated by you.

Speaker 700:02:07

Oh, because—

Speaker 600:02:07

I support a two-state solution.

Speaker 700:02:08

You support genocide?

Speaker 600:02:09

I said no, I don't. There's no genocide. There's literally no genocide going on.

Speaker 700:02:13

There's genocide going on?

Speaker 600:02:13

There's literally no genocide.

John Bickley00:02:15

Some Alaskan voters are saying they switched support from Democrat Mary Peltola to Republican Senator Dan S. Sullivan after reading about the scheme to recruit a candidate with a nearly identical name. One voter told Fox News he was, quote, "disgusted" by the report and called the effort "sleazy." Take a listen.

Speaker 800:02:33

And he thought about voting for Mary Peltola.

Speaker 700:02:35

Well, he—yeah. We don't have to go there, but I switched. I did.

Speaker 800:02:39

The second I heard there's two Dan Sullivans, I thought, there's something fishy about this.

Speaker 700:02:42

Yeah. So what would you like to see done? Criminal charges? No. I don't think anything criminal happened, but it—

Speaker 800:02:50

I think it's unethical, and I don't think she should be elected.

Speaker 700:02:52

There you go. That's the right answer. Who are you guys voting for?

Speaker 800:02:56

Dan Sullivan.

Speaker 700:02:56

Yeah.

Speaker 800:02:57

Dan S. Sullivan.

Speaker 700:02:58

I'm going to vote for Sullivan. Dan S.

John Bickley00:03:01

Another voter also pointed out that the "Decoy Dan" hasn't, quote, "spent a dime" on the campaign and couldn't be reached by interested voters. The plot has drawn national attention on Alaska's ranked-choice Senate race.

Speaker 500:03:13

The battle over sex-based rights and what it means to protect gender-confused children from harm is coming to a head in the Texas Senate race. Daily Wire reporter Meg Brock has more.

Speaker 900:03:24

The differences between Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico on gender ideology are stark. Paxton is currently the state's attorney general. In that role, he has taken steps to protect gender-confused children from becoming victims of irreversible sex-rejecting medical interventions. He led an investigation into fraud in gender medicine that resulted in a settlement earlier this year with Texas Children's Hospital and the creation of the first-ever detransition clinic. Talarico, on the other hand, has embraced gender ideology and has routinely pushed to expand access to puberty blockers and sex-change surgeries.

In 2023, Talarico voted against a bill to ban minors from receiving such sex-rejecting medical interventions.

John Bickley00:04:03

Just ahead of Election Day, The New York Times released a list of what it called "Jewish leaders in Michigan who have pledged their support to Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed with one big issue." Writer Nick Sheehan has the story.

Speaker 1000:04:15

The list, published by The New York Times, was meant to show that despite condemnations from the Jewish community, El-Sayed has maintained a strong base of Jewish support. That's what it was meant to show, until readers took a closer look at the list. The first name that raised eyebrows was one Mr. "Jack Mihoff." Further examination of the list revealed other obviously fictitious names in a similar fashion to Mr. Mihoff. Dozens of unverifiable names appear as well, listing only a first name and last initial.

At least one person listed was also confirmed to be deceased. At the time of writing, The Times has yet to issue a retraction.

Speaker 500:04:54

Israel will stop receiving $4 billion a year in aid from the U.S. by the end of the year. That's according to President Trump, who said that the idea to pull back aid spent on U.S. weaponry was raised first by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Here was Trump announcing it on Fox News.

Speaker 1100:05:10

We are, but it gets cut off at the end of the year.

Speaker 700:05:12

Why?

Speaker 1100:05:13

Why? Because they don't need it, Brian. I mean, I asked them. Because they don't need it. And because why should we suffer the slings from lunatics like an El-Sayed when they don't need it? It's a bad talking point, because we say, why don't we give everybody $4 billion? Israel is our number one. We give them more than anybody else. And they no longer need it. We've been doing it for years. I've been doing it. But Israel is a very thriving country. They don't need it. If they did need it, I would say, keep it going.

But Bibi Netanyahu—we reached an agreement on that. And can I be honest with you? He brought it up. He brought it up. He said, "I think it would be appropriate if we do not receive aid."

First Lady Melania Trump will host Russia-Ukraine peace talks at the White House Thursday, building on a limited ceasefire she helped broker in the Ukrainian city of Oleshky. Her office says she independently brought the two countries together and secured the truce, which allowed nearly 800 people to escape after years of bombardment in the Ukrainian-held enclave. The First Lady has also used a direct channel to Russian President Vladimir Putin to help reunite Ukrainian children with their families. She says 34 children have been returned so far. The White House announcement did not identify who will represent Russia or Ukraine.

The talks come as Moscow demands that Ukraine surrender territory in Donetsk. That's a condition Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has rejected, fearing it would lead to further Russian invasion.

A former West Point cadet is being sued for allegedly secretly drugging his pregnant girlfriend with abortion pills. Andrew Spanberger, senior counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, has more.

Speaker 1200:08:18

A former West Point cadet who pleaded guilty to secretly drugging his pregnant girlfriend and administering abortion medication to her without her consent or knowledge is now being sued over the 2022 incident. The woman, identified as Jane Doe in court documents, sued Caleb Sutter in New York's Supreme Court on October 28, accusing him of assault and battery and seeking damages. Doe and Sutter were cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point when Doe learned she was pregnant in January 2022, according to the complaint. The lawsuit alleges Sutter repeatedly pressured Doe to have an abortion, while she told him she intended to keep the baby.

Sutter later appeared to support her decision but, according to the complaint, used her identification to create an online pharmacy account in her name and obtain abortion medication without her knowledge. This is the latest case demonstrating the dangers to women resulting from the Biden administration's removal of safety protocols for the abortion drug mifepristone. Alliance Defending Freedom is assisting the state of Louisiana in litigation against the FDA seeking to reinstate the safety protocols, including the in-person doctor visit requirement. ADF client Rosalie Markezich was coerced by her then-boyfriend to take the abortion drug and ultimately lost the child she wanted to keep.

Both of these tragic incidences could have been prevented by the FDA's previous safety measures. The state of Louisiana versus FDA was argued at the Fifth Circuit in September.

Retired jet engines are being converted into generators to power AI data centers, as developers race to secure electricity faster than the grid can provide it. Reporter's Actual has more.

Speaker 1300:09:42

The repurposed turbines are technically less efficient and more polluting than conventional gas generators, but that hasn't stopped their rapid deployment. Data centers are snapping up retired jet engines because they can be converted into generators much faster than companies can secure grid access or standard turbines. Each converted engine can produce about 50 megawatts of electricity, enough to power roughly 15,000 homes. Elon Musk's XAI has installed eight in Mississippi, with permits allowing higher emissions of carbon monoxide and volatile organic compounds than other turbines at the site.

Environmental groups are challenging the approvals, arguing the company's emissions estimates are too low and that the manufacturer hasn't shown the turbines meet certain pollution standards. Companies say the engines can get data centers running in as little as two years instead of waiting several more for grid access.

A 24-year-old runner died after collapsing near the finish line of the New York City Marathon after texting her father "ow" and then "owow" during the race. Rachel Apa, a former Bucknell field hockey player, collapsed at mile 24 and was pronounced dead on Sunday. Her family said she died from rhabdomyolysis, a condition that causes muscle breakdown and can lead to organ failure. Apa had been running the marathon for the Parkinson's Foundation in honor of her late grandfather. Her father said she was, quote, "in perfect health" before the race.

John Bickley00:11:02

And a TV host who once made headlines for proposing to Tom Brady on camera has been arrested by ICE in a massive fraud scheme. Immigration reporter Ginny Terra has more.

Speaker 1400:11:12

Ines Gomez-Mont was taken into custody over the weekend in connection with a $160 million fraud scheme allegedly perpetrated by her and her husband. The two are accused of forming shell companies to launder money from the Mexican Interior Ministry through fake contracts and invoices. Mont, once a well-known host of Mexican television programs TV Azteca and Televisa, fled her home country in 2021 after warrants were issued for her arrest. Mont will remain in U.S. immigration custody pending extradition to Mexico.
