Welcome in. The fantasy footballers podcast, Monday, November 25th. It's Megalodon Week. We're happy to be with you. Sometimes a weekend is a break, and sometimes coming to work is the break. And I feel like I'm getting the weekend of my weekend right now. Oh, really? This is the break from what was supposed to be a weekend. I was just very, very- Yeah, you- I had a lot of dad responsibilities this weekend, and I feel like this is our chance to... We haven't seen each other in a while.

No, this is a rare situation where the three of us this weekend did not watch any football together. We usually are the three of us in the studio with our giant TV wall, trying to take in every snap of every game at the same time and- Reacting together.

Melding. Yeah.

But Yeah, Mike was traveling. You were at home. I was in the studio. Now it's like we get here this morning, and it's like, We got to hit record, because all we want to do is talk about all the things that happened this weekend. What did you think of this? What did you think of that?

And you just got here, so we had to hit record. Right.

I was coming in a little hot.

But a lot of the kids are on break?

Yeah.

Are your kids on break right now? My kids are not on break yet. Mine neither. It was the morning workout.

No, I know. I Some kids are getting the whole Thanksgiving week off, but not- Are your kids off?

Yeah.

Oh, man. They didn't do this for me when I was a kid.

They didn't do it for me either. This is a new one, but what are you going to do?

I mean- I slept till 07:00 AM.

Still dropped them off at school. They just don't have any.

But we have a lot of football to talk about. I think I selected some of the worst puns I've ever selected for Monday Pun Day. Okay. So good luck on those ones. And We have a lot of studs and duds to talk about. We got a pretty neat ready to roll segment today, breaking down some of the rookie quarterbacks. I'm just thankful the Foot Cleanse here, listening in, tuning in, getting ready for one more game in which, tonight, the Horror Bowl, and I need some help. I need Lamar and Zee flowers to outscore Mark Andrews by 30.

Okay. It's doable. Doable. That's not doable. But you're in it. That's not like there is no, I think, perceived expectation of who wins and loses that.

To me, I'm just going to count Lamar as 30 points, and it'll be Zee flowers versus Andrew's heads up. That's why I'm looking at it. So we'll see what happens tonight.

I'd rather be on the Zee flowers side.

Yeah. And what I am rooting for is, and I apologize, but I'm rooting for a defensive slugfest with very few fantasy points scored. I got league medians that I'm not... I've got no one else left to score. Right now I'm in it, but if other... I just need everybody to suck today.

You know who wasn't in the Duds list? Who I had the privilege of facing this week because fantasy football?

Keenan freaking Allen. Dude. Oh, yeah.

I saw him on the opponent's team, thrilled.

Dude.

Then his first touch, he fumbles.

There were some players this week that were basically not just dropped candidates. They were dropped. They were recommended dropped. I'll take my L. I mean, Michael Pitman. Get rid of him. He's a bum. He's the third on the target picking board. No, he's awesome. He's great. With Anthony Richland, he's going to be fantastic. Keenan Allen. There were so many players that were like... I mean, Jalen Waddle. Who have just been so horrifically bad, and now all of a sudden, this was their week. This is their time to shine, which I guess when you're dealing with a bunch of buy weeks, that's great because a lot of these players actually were in lineups due to buy weeks. But this weekend, man, was Jordan Addison.

With Jefferson, absolutely horrible for fantasy. This is why if you make the playoffs, you can win the Championship. Mike's 18 and 4, because we play with median in our dynasty League, his 18 and 14 faced a one in 21 team this week and got blown out.

Yes. That's how this week felt. This week felt like the top players were Jordan Addison, Jalen Waddle, DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, David Moore, Jacobi Myers. Those just felt like the best players to start this week. And of course, they were.

I feel like Bucky Irving didn't get any credit in the Monday Punday, but frankly, nobody could come up with something valuable there. There was a Bucky serving, and I was trying to tie it into Thanksgiving, but we didn't get there.

Yeah, that's what this show's about. I mean, one in twelve, one in ten, they win the title. And we want you to enjoy the season. All right. Endo ready to roll. And we picked this week to take a look at the rookie quarterbacks that are performing at a very high level this year and maybe put them into a historical context. Because in week 12, three of the top six fantasy quarterbacks happened to be rookies. Jaden Daniels, who threw a... What was it, 86 yards?

Something like that.

Touchdown to nearly end the game until the extra point was missed, was the number one quarterback. Caleb Williams, number three on the week. By the way, I had forgotten, that was the almost upset. That's as almost as you get. Overtime, lost to Minnesota. And then Bo Nicks at number 6 on the week, which I think felt like a disappointment.

It really did. To be honest, all three of these players were a disappointment through a large portion of the game this week, where it was like the end of, specifically the Daniels and Caleb Williams games, the end of those two games were absolutely bonkers insane, and so many fantasy points came when you just thought everything was gone, everything was out of reach, even to the point of the game should be over, but defensive players are scoring touch downs instead of going down, so your player gets to get back on the field and throw. It was just wild. But yes, historically, we looked at basically 32 quarterbacks that have started 12 games because we're 12 weeks in. Slight exceptions, Josh Allen had 11 starts as rookie or Caleb Williams has already had his a week, so he's only had 11. But for the most part, that's what this data is.

Yeah, 32 rookie quarterbacks dating back to 2008. In fantasy, points per game. Right now, Jaden Daniels is sitting at sixth, But maybe more interesting, Bo Nicks sitting at 10th. That's outrageous. Out of those 32 quarterbacks dating back, the 32 rookie dating back to 2008, Jaden is behind Cam Newton, RG3, Herbert in 2020, Stroud last year, and Kyler Murray. He's actually tied with Kyler Murray at 19.9. Bo Nicks is sitting at 18.4, though. And I think even just showing... That's a point and a half gap between what Bo Nicks is doing here in Jaden Daniels, who started so hot that I think- And Bo was the opposite.

In the first month of the season, in a four-point passing touch-down, he was under... He was 11 points or fewer in three of the first four games. Then it just flipped.

Since week five, Bo is the quarterback three in fantasy. The quarterback three since that first month of his season. It's unbelievable.

And they're starting to lean on Marvin Mims more, Jason. I don't know if you saw that. Big key to success for Bo Nicks.

I don't believe it. I refuse to accept it, and I want to focus on Sean Payton saying really good things about Troy Franklin.

Because it was a season high for targets for Mr. Mims. All the way up to five.

Did he catch them?

He caught three of them.

Oh, that's it? I thought he had four. Okay.

He had two carries.

So sixth, 10th, and 14th. Caleb Williams is sitting 14 of 32. So for all of the shade thrown on Caleb Williams, that's above the halfway point for all the rookie quarterbacks that we looked at. Passing yards per game, they're all middle of the pack right now in terms of the context of rookie performances. They're not putting up huge yardage numbers, 17th, 18th, and 20th. But completion percentage, Jaden Daniels is number two since 2008, among all rookie quarterbacks, 68.4 %.

Behind only Mac Jones, superstar rookie quarter.

That was such a good rookie year for Mac Jones.

They went to the playoffs, right?

Maybe that's your like, I hope that's not Bo Nicks, right?

A hundred %, yeah. I mean, this is not a guarantee of future Not a major success, but there's certainly huge optimism here for most of this rookie class. And we've talked about Caleb Williams, specifically. I feel like we've seen enough to believe he will be a franchise quarterback, as opposed to what we saw from Bryce Young in his rookie year. But the name we haven't really talked hardly at all about is Drake May. Sure. What we actually think, because in the first game or two, it was like, I liked a lot of what I saw, but I feel like I'm pretty disappointed in-I think he's doing the best he can do with what he's got, honestly.

I think he's actually not that bad. He's got a 65.5% completion percentage, which is above Boonix, which is above Caleb Williams. He's not in the sample when we looked at those three guys.

He's literally surrounded by Booty.

He is literally surrounded. He's literally surrounded by Boody. When Boody is your top-Thank you, everyone. It's good to be back.

You can leave now. I mean, you just We peed.

Mike showed up, and you can leave. No, when your top target is Booty, you're not going to put up big numbers. Oh, man. That's good stuff. But yeah, I think Drain May is fine. I do. I think I think him and Caleb Williams are actually performing at a similar level right now, not the Bo'Nicks level.

Yeah, I mean, look, the other three guys, like Courtland Sutton, he has never come through, I think, for what we had hoped he was going to be when he entered the league. I think he was a second-round pick. But it was like, no, he's a good player. Of course, the bears have their weapons, and then Terry McLaurin. So it's like, Drake May, compared to these other guys, is just... He's got half the cards.

Hey, I didn't notice any Anthony Richardson in the completion percentage area of the rookie stats?

Is he not- He doesn't reach. Kyle, do you know where he registers? I don't think he has 11 starts.

Oh, you're probably right. It's also- He's more of a rookie than these three rookies.

Yeah, he really is. 100%.

The Richardson game is so weird.

This week you're saying?

Yes.

It was weird.

11 for 28, 39% of his passes completed, 172 yards. But there was a- It wasn't that bad. There was a full dropped to touch down. We're talking a slant route. Hit what was it, Ogletree? It was Ogle tree. Hit him right in the hands for a touch down. Ogly tree. And then Hardets had tweeted out. There was like, he had 70 passing yards called back on penalties. The freaking penalties. Oh, my.

We're back.

They still scored six points.

It wasn't as bad as the box score, for sure. And he had some yards on the ground. But any chance I have to take a shot, I get it.

I will say that there were missed opportunities, and his game was slightly better than what the box score says. But also the box score says it was horrific, and it was a little better than that. It was still bad. There were plenty of plays out there Because what I was focused on for Anthony Richardson was consistency and accuracy because he had it the previous game. Is this what's developing? And that was 100% not there. What you saw in this game was still a couple of incredible terrible throws, and a couple just absurdly ridiculous. Like, whoops. Is it raining in that dome? Why is the ball coming out of your hand like that?

I think it's also worth at this point highlighting because it will transfer over to next year. People, we're talking about 32 rookie quarterbacks since 2008. It's like this is not normal, what is happening. Especially for the Terry McLaurin being a top-tier fantasy player. Courtland Sun, their weapons doing what they're doing, don't let that lull you into a false sense of confidence next year when we're drafting rookie quarterbacks top wide receiver.

Right. Although we are seeing- It's not impossible.

It's just the probability is still very low.

Yeah, I think it is low, but I think it is changing.

Perhaps.

We'll need to do like a-We've seen it at the tight-end position a little bit from the rookies. I think we're seeing slightly more... A higher probability is there over time. I think people are going to win championships with Bo Nicks and Jaden Daniels this year. Bo Nicks has the eighth easiest schedule the rest of the way. They're letting him throw it around. He's playing great football, and Jaden Daniels, he's got some matchups in the playoffs. If you can get through Philly in week 16, which when you If you have rushing baseline, you can get through a game like that. I think championships are going to be one on the back of two rookie quarterbacks. I really do.

The rushing yards is a huge one. Jaden's averaging 46 yards a game. Bo Nicks is at 25, and Caleb's at 30. That is a huge deal.

The only reason I say that I think it might be changing a little bit is just because last year, C. J. Stroud points per game was the fourth-highest of that stretch. You had Herbert in 2020, and now you've got these guys this year. It's always going to depend on the situation you're in and the offense you're in. There are players right now that... Caleb Williams was doomed to die until they made this change in offensive coordinator. The last two weeks, he's looked better. Did Caleb Williams just hook into the matrix and upgrade his software? I mean, it was a change in the offense.

A perfect situation for him to have to chuck it.

Yeah. Sean Payton is doing great stuff love with Bo Nicks, whereas, Drake May has booty right now.

Yeah, and no offensive line. I'm just thrilled that we have this draft class because it wasn't long ago that we thought there was an incredible draft class that had Trevor Lawrence and Zack Wilson and Trey Lance and Justin Fields. It was like Mac Jones was in that one. You were like, This is the future of the NFL. It was not.

How many touch downs does Sutton have on the year, and how many touch downs does McLaren have on the year so far?

I don't know those off the top of my head. You can look them up, but I know that both wide receivers are top 10. That is crazy right now.

Sutton is at Southern only has five.

Where's McLaurin?

Let me look that up. His name is Thierry McLaurin.

He is at seven. I'll talk over your search. Seven. Because we were talking about the one piece... Because I did an article on rookie quarterback performances before the year, When we looked at Stroud, and the one thing that we saw was that, generally speaking, they did not raise the bar unless they had a Hall of Famer. They could not get their wide receivers to those top performances or to double-digit touch downs. That's what we had seen historically among rookie quarterbacks.

Yeah, if they had Reggie Wayne or Steve Smith.

Keenan Allen. Yeah, Adam Thielen was one, ironically, the year before.

This is certainly breaking that mold because I think Terry McLorn and Coraline Sutton are good wide receivers, but they are not that caliber.

Number one Overall, Picks was generally a much higher bar than the other ones. But yeah, this is an outlier here to Mike's point of not overreacting. So that was ready to roll. Well, rarely a week goes by where we don't have news on Brian Robinson Jr. Getting He binged up. He injured his right ankle in the first quarter, returned, and then was rolled out in the second half.

Him returning just visually, again, I'm not a doctor. Not sure people understand that about my background. That you're not a doctor? My background, yeah. The way I speak Sometimes it gets confusing. But that tackle was a... Uh-oh. Brian Robinson is in big trouble.

His season was over. When that tackle happened, it looked like it was-Was it a hip drop? It's a little bit like it, yeah. The player did come down on it and bent him back, but I don't think it was specifically a hip drop style at the beginning of the tackle. However, it was bent back over. You're worried about the knee as well because you couldn't really tell That's hip drop.

If the foot was- I'm watching it right now.

You couldn't really tell where the foot was, so you thought, Man, he could completely destroy his knee on a tackle like that. You could break your fibula.

This is exactly what happened to Joe Mixon when he got hip dropped and then tried to come back in that same game, then got rolled out. Then Joe Mixon missed what? Four weeks? Three. Three weeks. We've not had a lot to say about runningbacks on waiver day because- Well, and Austin Eckler- He's probably rostered.

Austin Echler, at the very, very, very end of the game, had a brutal concussion. He's getting the concussion protocol.

For a second time this year.

Yes, correct. So he will not play this week. Jeremy McNichols- Yeah, now we have a name.

Yeah, McNicolson has been pretty good in his opportunities. So I did not see the Echler concussion. Josh Downs left the second half with a shoulder injury for the Colts. That's a bummer. David Montgomery left the second half with a shoulder injury. They said he could have returned. And Dan Campbell said, When asked about Monte, there are bigger fish to fry, they could give him a week. We'll see. They could give him time because they are nine and one.

He was very... Dan Campbell, we'll see how he talks during the week. And it's their Thanksgiving, right? So they're in a game here in just a couple of days.

Yeah, that's true.

I'll just guess that Montgomery will sit.

He'll be fine.

Well, I don't have Montgomery on any team. He'll be fine, Michael. So I will guess that he will sit out.

He's totally okay.

Not a doctor, Jason?

Not yet, but I think he's absolutely fine. He's clearly going to play.

Can you imagine if Jason was a doctor, but he was treating the fantasy players? He was treating these players and maybe they- I think there would be a little bit of a conflict of interest, if I'm being honest.

Really? A little bit. If If they're on your team, you might give them different medical reports. Or if they're on my opponent's team.

It's like the QB is getting the concussion check. You're like, That guy, I don't think he's okay.

He's good to go. I'd pump him full of steroids and alert anonymously the league and be like, You got to test that, dude. Oh, he's out? Who's got the backup? Oh, I already have him? Yeah, baby.

I don't know if we're in jeopardy of Jason getting a medical license anytime soon.

Antonio pierce said Aiden O'Neill could be activated off of IR as soon as Friday.

Which is their game.

They play the Chiefs on Friday. This is actually, as someone who has a Chiefs defense, this is devastating news. I was fully hoping I'd get the Chiefs against Desmond Ritter.

I don't know that you're really scared about Aiden O'Neill either.

I would not be. Aiden O'Neill- You've never seen Desmond Ritter, though? I've seen Aiden O'Neill.

Yeah, I'm thrilled no matter who.

Aiden O'Neill only has two picks in his four starts. That's not the numbers I'm looking for. I want three picks per game. I know Ritter can do that.

On the flip side, though, for people not just playing the Kansas City Chiefs, I mean, Brock Bowers takes a hit. Jacobi Meyer is like, This is a real shame that Garner Minchou is out because he's not a superstar quarterback, but he can- His competency.

He's competent, yes.

I mean, my Amir Abdullah You're Amir Abdulallah.

Dutavian Sanders left yesterday's game of the neck injury. Panthers rookie tied in. Oh, that one was scary. Still being evaluated. Yeah, that one was scary. And then Lad McConkey, still questionable for tonight with a shoulder injury. We don't need to get into Roger's news.

I think you at least need to- Okay. Yes.

The news that is spreading is that Aaron Rodgers doesn't want to play for the Jets anymore.

Well, it's all over the place.

It's likely that they could place him on IR or bench him because he's had a bunch of injuries and refused to get scans on the injuries because- The Jets, they're cleaning house already.

Coach gone GM gone. You got to at least pay attention to this.

That'll kill. Garrett Wilson, that'll kill. It won't kill, but it will-Devontae Adams. It's Tyrod, right?

Yeah, Tyrod Taylor. In his own right, though. If you're in a 2QB League, right now is the time this waiver week, tomorrow. Let's pick him up.

And it was also reported, I think it was Rossini saying that Rodgers wants to play next year, just not for the Jets. How You can't bring all your dudes over there and then leave them.

Oh, he can. I mean, if there is a villain left right now in the NFL, it's Aaron Rodgers.

I don't think he'll go out like this. That's the thing. I don't think he will just... If they bench him and put him on IR, I don't think he's not playing ever again, and this is the ending for him.

It's going to take...

The parallel here... Dude, Bryce Young is That game against the Chiefs for Bryce Young was- He played pretty well. He played fantastic. He's played really, really well since the benching. But I'm saying the parallels of Rodgers and the Brett Favre journey, they continue to be hilarious. But the issues with- Oh, Minnesota? Yeah, the issues with Farve. Well, that's already been rumored, too. Yeah, well, they won't- Because if McCarthy just had a second cleanup on his knee- McCarthy's injury is looking longer term. Darnold probably has played himself into one of those Baker-type contracts for a team, so they're going to need somebody. But I'm saying the issues with Farve were, he just kept saying he was going to quit. It was like five years in a row, I'm going to retire. Did retire.

Yeah, it was just to skip training camp.

Yes, he didn't want to do training camp. It wasn't this stuff with Rodgers. This is a much bigger PR hit to take on.

Favre was likable.

Farv was- That's what I'm saying. I liked, even though it was annoying, I liked the FARV news.

You're forgetting how it was-by comparison to Aaron Rodgers.

It was awful at the end. I mean, Aaron Rodgers needed to die a hero. The line, you either die a hero or you live long enough to become the villain. He's He was 100% villain.

It was awful. The Brett Fivre saga of Will He or Won't He Retire was exhausting.

I remember it was exhausting, but I do remember that after it finally ended, I wanted him back. It was fun.

Part of his bonus, he came back and he played awesome for Minnesota. He was really good. Rodgers has not come back and been awesome.

Winning gears a lot of stuff.

Well, I think you were not here when we were talking about it, Mike, but Devante Adams. Rodgers Super Bowl predated Adams arriving in Green Bay. Adams never won a Super Bowl with Rodgers. It was 2008 that Rodgers won a Super Bowl, which is now 16 years ago. The luster is gone.

There's no place that Aaron Rodgers can go and win. There's none. Yeah, I don't think so. They had a great defense. He was given all the weapons. He's got Brees Hall, Gary Wilson, Devante Adams. They did everything to help him win. He's not good enough. I mean, He's done. It's over. I don't think an NFL team gives him a job next year.

This week's fantasy stud muffins.

Well, we already talked about Jaden Daniels. He was number one on the week. Mahomes was number two, Tua Tungavailoa, number three, Caleb Williams, number four, and Sam Darnold on the back of Jordan Addison coming in at number five studs at the quarterback position.

I think Mahomes is an interesting conversation point because he spent a year and a half being irrelevant, not scoring 20 fantasy points pretty much ever in fantasy football. As soon as we moved away from him, about a month ago, he has been-We call that waddling.

When When you waddle back into relevance.

Three of the last four weeks, he's been a quarterback one, twice the quarterback four on the week, barring two night, and with good performances.

Look, it's a couple of factors. One, He has Hopkins. He's got worthy. He's got Juju back. He's got Noah gray. Can't be stopped. Has Travis Kelsey. He's got some players, and will soon have Pacheco. The other part is that the Chief's defense just isn't that good. It's good, but it's not that good. Statistically speaking, they're really good against runningbacks, but they are giving up points. The Panthers push them to the brink. And fantasy-wise, they're not scoring a lot of points. I think both of those factors Mahomes is having to do a little bit more of the running game without Pacheco. I don't know if that will change things. But yeah, these games are all close. Every Chief's game is close.

Next week is Vegas, then the Chargers for Patrick Mahomes. Let's all be hopeful. Let's all be hopeful that we can get the high-flying Kansas City Chiefs back.

Tua threw four breakdown passes. He threw for 317 yards, and he still couldn't get Devon H in 25 receiving yards. What is wrong with you? 24?

He was too busy throwing 144 yards to my dude Jalen Waddle.

Why? And then John H Smith has been just a revelation.

It was such a weird game. If you weren't watching it actively, they are blowing out I mean, they're just destroying the Giants. And they have two drives in a row where basically what happened, and we couldn't understand. My co-manager in the League of Records, this is our quarterback. So we're watching intently, and we're like, Oh, they're up by a ton. They're not going to throw. And instead, they never ran the ball. They had drives in a row where they're up like 30 points. It was like a 90-yard drive, and I'm pretty sure 89 of the yards were all passing, and then they get on the goal line and rushing, touched out. I'm like, Stop it.

There were four players on the Bucaneers that had rushing touchdowns. It was Baker, it was Tucker, it was Irving, and it was Rashaad White.

So it was like- And they tried to give Tucker the second rushing touch down. He was on the goal line, so he He vultured the first one.

It seems like that's what they're going to be doing, man.

And then the next time down, they gave him another one, but he fumbled on the goal line, and they lost the ball. But Baker, he played outstanding. I mean, he has just been so good this year. I think you stick with him. And I would put him in that same category along with Bo Nicks and Jaden Daniels. League winner. Of league winners that you might not have expected to be at the beginning of the season.

We'll talk about his running back here in a second, because the running back studs this week. Number one, Saquon Barkley, who went Gee.

Just insane. I mean, he's now entered the MVP chat at running back. He has more yards in the last two games than, I think, three or four NFL teams. Jacksonville, for example. 26 for 200 and-Fifty-five. Two rushing touch downs and another 47 through the air. He was number one on the week.

In the last two games, he's on pace for 17-game pace of 3400 rushing yards.

Yeah, it's been wild. Josh Jacobs, three touchdowns, finished number two on the week. Baker's guy, who I've been trying to convince Al Borland is a great player. Bucky Irving, number three on the week, 12 for 87 and one. What I love about Bucky Irving, and this is coming from somebody who didn't think Irving would be able to completely unseat Rashaad White because of how great White is in the passing game. Well, Irving is great in the passing game, too. Mike was very quick to say, Hey, watch out for Bucky Irving in the preseason. Irving always gets the extra yard. When he is running, he runs with a ferocity like a James Connor. He is a tackle breaker. He out snapped, Rashaud White. Bucky Irving's fantasy output recently is... I mean, his last two start He's number seven and number three on the week. He is entering that category of... Look, they like to depend on the run in that offense. And if he keeps doing what he's doing now...

And it's not even just the run. Like you said, he's a very good pass catcher. I mean, that was what he was, I feel like, more known for in college anyways. But 6 for 64 through the air, in addition to the 87 hard-fought yards on the ground, he's been exceptional.

Yeah. So he's entering that category of, obviously, a must start, but maybe a league winner. Jamir Gibbs, 21 for 90, two rushing touch downs. Ho-hum, R-B-3 on the year while sharing the backfield.

I mean, he didn't share it as much this last game because Montgomery did go out with that injury and just stayed on the sideline for the whole game. I don't have the snap percentage in front of me.

No, but he did have his most opportunities of the year at 24.

Yeah, and I think that was directly because Montgomery wasn't there. So if Montgomery does sit on the short week, you're going to have I mean, your DraftKings' lineups need to all have Jamir Gibbs.

Tony Pollard, 24 for 119 and one in the upset. Devon Achan. He's so- Two touch downs through the air, and you can't get me 25 yards. You can't get me 25 yards. Him being in this studs with, what, 56 yards?

That's my number one offensive strategy. If I take over a team, that's what I'm going to do.

Wild, though, is- But they didn't do that in Minnesota. In terms of targets and receptions, DJ Moore was actually identical to last week. Seven targets, seven receptions, but this time, he was the wide receiver three.

Last time, he was not. Yeah, he had the touch downs. I think that that really helped him. The way that they are using him in the screen game post Shane Waldron's firing is so exciting because he's the type of player that if you use him the right way in the screen game, he can score touch downs, which he did on a screen, and he can score them from the 10-yard line or the 80-yard line.

Yeah, and I think it's more Tyler Locket. D. K. Metcalf still had a couple deep bomb shots that were really close to coming through. But Locket, it's been five, six weeks since he's had more than three receptions.

Yes. Tucker Kraft is, If you score, you're happy, and if you don't, you're not. If you're in that category? How can Noah gray not be in that conversation? If he's out there... I don't know what his snap count was this week, but I think Brooks is looking that up.

He was 44 snaps to 66 for Travis Kielsey.

Yeah, he played 76% of snaps the week before when he had that production, if you're on the field and you're getting open and they're having to account for Kelsey- It's possible. I'm not saying go get him. I don't think I'm fighting for him or anything. But if you are desperate, they did commit to him, three-year, $18 million extension in the offseason. So they are good at finding players to distribute the ball to. So Trey McBride, 15 targets I mean, 19 points.

And then the next time you see him, it's like he's never played quarterback before. He has no idea what he's doing.

And it lasts the whole game.

He was 10 for 61 on the ground. He did fight, and he did make plays, and a lot of them were called back due to penalty or dropped or really close.

Yeah, that was the story. It was just close, but not good enough.

Yeah. Joe Mixon, 14 for 22 on the ground after his monster performance. He was facing a Tennessee defense that's very good. Did catch five passes, but this was his first bus game after he had taken over running back one in points per game, I will go out on a limb. Saquon's got it now. Saquon's definitely got it after this game and what Saquon did. Somebody explain Christian McCaffrey to me.

Brock Purdy. I really think that Brock Purdy just made a lot of money this week sitting out because the packers would just sell out to stop the run.

I agree with this in principle, but I want to go deeper because I've watched Christian McCaffrey play for three weeks since he's returned. Even in the purdy game, both of them, I didn't feel like I saw the same player on the ground. Jordan Mason had a lot of success this year. He's sitting right now at 3.5 a carry through three games on the ground. You can throw out the last game. That's fine. He's a little bit higher. He's at 3.7. But McCafee normally overcomes those things, and he normally has a longer run. You know what I mean? His long run of the season through three games, 13 yards. To me, that part is what- No touch downs in three games. Yeah, That's the part that I'm more asking about is, will the ceiling arrive for McCafee before the end of the year? This division is broken. I mean, where are you putting him in rest of season rankings at running back?

I'll probably have him top five still. I think when Brock comes back as the season goes on, he has all of the work for what is usually a good offense, even if he is 90% of who he was last year. I mean, that's still probably a top five running back. But I get your fear and your concern. This is a guy who obviously has a significant injury that kept him off the field for a while. He's 28 years old. The San Francisco 49ers, they've got to figure things out really quick.

They got to get their groove back.

Detroit's run defense is really tough. We knew it would probably be a bad game, but- No targets? No targets is the real problem. No targets and no opportunities, really, to score touch downs because... And again, we just discussed how good the Lyons defense has been. They shut down the Colts. The Colts could do nothing all game. But it was like the way that Jonathan Taylor is used is just not that good with Anthony Richardson. He doesn't get those leakouts, the check downs, the really valuable stuff that he's still very good at, just not the way that his quarterback plays. So I think you're going to Enjoy easy matchups, soft defenses, where you expect the Colts to win. In a game against Detroit, that's not the recipe for success.

James Connor received seven rushing attempts and had eight yards. The Cardinals, while struggling on offense, which, by the way, if you watch the Cardinals play football, the entirety of their success on offense this year has been predicated on giving James Connor the ball who breaks more tackles than anybody in football. They gave him seven attempts in four quarters.

He caught five passes. He had two big plays, call back on penalty. It was a just disappearing effort. It was so frustrating because the way you win, if you're Arizona, is to hand the ball up, and they didn't do it.

And then you see this incredible catch while a guy is all over him, and you assume, Oh, that had to have been Justin Jefferson. And then the little itty-bitty Jordan-Adison gets up. He took so much that... I mean, Justin Jefferson had a bad game. Actually, recently, he's had a stretch of not great games. I mean, the last three weeks, he was the wide receiver 33, the wide receiver 29, the wide receiver 60.

You throw this one away. This is Jalen Johnson. He'll be back. You need to give the credit where it's due. Addison took advantage of the opportunity, but Jalen Johnson is an all-pro, followed him all over the field the entire game. And the Vikings did what they should do, which is exploit matchups elsewhere. I mean, Hawkinson over 100, Addison nearly to 200. Normally, Jefferson can overcome a bad matchup, but they didn't need to. By the way, if you were... Somebody out there definitely has been trying to figure out, Christian Watson or Jalen Waddle, which guy do I throw in for a big game? If you chase, you lose because Christian Watson had no catches. No catches.

Should have had one. Oh, yeah. That's like... He just had an epic drop.

And then on 12, in 12 personnel, he was seeding a lot of snaps to Ricky Pearsall, which is like, you should at least put your eyebrows up and pay attention to it because it's not been great for Debo this year. And then Jaden Reid, what do we make of this where you could go, Yeah, hey, he's the wide receiver 11 on the year, and yet since the first month of the season, After that, it's been like, he's had some good-ish games?

I think Jason's right about the way this game ended up, not having to throw it a bunch. But this is why I wasn't going to put Jaden Reed into the category of, Oh, I'm going to panic Trade City lamb for him, because he's not He's not consistent enough. He's not integral. He's not elite enough to go out there every week, no matter what, and get it done. I don't know if Debo is healthy. He was out with a calf injury earlier in the year. He was out He was injured with a wrist injury a couple of weeks ago. I think he's very injury prone. I think he's playing hurt. I think he's playing angry because this team is so frustrated. No, I think that he is someone that you need to take a strong look at and see what your other options are. But more often than not, I think he will end up in lineups as he should.

This performance made me exceptionally happy I signed Asam Hill, because if the return of Mike Evans means Kate Otton is more hit and miss. I hope that's not what it means. Are you afraid of that?

He's not a worst player. It's just a complete team that can run the ball whenever they want to, that has a go-to wide receiver, that has an explosive wide receiver, that can play any way they want to play. They do not need to use them all the time. It's just a luxury.

It is. It's crazy. He had six targets this week. It just didn't turn into anything.

Last year, they didn't have a consistent number two receiver, and not counting the runningbacks. And this year, Jamison Williams has not been the greatest thing or anything, but he's earning targets on a weekly basis.

What was Jamison's line this week?

Seven targets, five for 64.

So he was their leading receiver?

He might have been. And Amun Ra was pretty worthless. Amun Ra was six for 62. Yeah, the last three weeks since Jamieson Williams has come back, he's had five targets, six targets, seven targets. He's definitely in. Oh, man. If these trends- If these trends continue.
